My back has been giving me a few twinges lately, too. That's scary. All I need is to get down in my back!!! The place on my ankle is not getting any better ... still the same size. My other ankle is giving me a fit, too ... hurting that is. All this wet weather is not helping any. We are supposed to have two sunny days and then it's back to rain for about 5 more days.
Mima ... 'bout time you slowed down some and took time to breathe. I have a hectic weekend coming up so I can't really talk. Have company coming for dinner tomorrow night. Made a banana pudding today so have part of that done. I'm cooking ham so that will just go in the oven. Then Sunday I'm having a cookout after church and having some friends over (8 people). Then Tuesday is Son's BD so I'm having everyone (that's 12 of us now counting the in-laws) over for another cookout. Planning. I have to do some each day and not put everything off 'till the last minute. It kills me that I used to be able to do whatever I wanted and I entertained all the time and didn't even think about it ...

I slept with old faithful last night..My heating pad...
Meme- I was able to walk a 4 mile hour just a year ago.. I don't seem to be able to do more than 3 miles now.. Lately I am only doing just over 2 miles on the treadmiland only 40 min. It is just too hot to walk outside.
It looks like we all are in some kind of pain..
We are getting a little rain.. The weeds are growing like crazy..
Hello everybody...I don't seem to have much to say ,so, until tomorrow.

Baked a wonderful new lemon cookie recipe and ate way too many.....am up to 6000 steps so far but my right hip is giving me fits. Played with the cats tonight and brushed them, one has really thick hair and mats all the time so I had to clip her. She does not liked being brushed...now my arms hurt. They are so cute whne they paly with their string and it's good exercise for my arms swinigng it around;)
Joanne..I use the heating pad everyday, keep one on the bed too!
Meme..I used to entertain all the time too and don't do it at all now..just my kids.
I should try my pedometer again today. It doesn't work right, Well, they are gone. Glad to saee them come and it was ok to see them go. Because I get tired but we had a great visit. DIL used to be crabby half the time-not now. Evan is very colicy-suggested a different formula, I was good eating yesterday. Threw away a lot of stuff. Ok Meme-move over, Went to the Church Fair meeting and took a folder of places to go to to solicit-yes solicit-donations for the Auction. But they are all in one plaza, except for Walmart where I will go today to get my car serviced, I have so much to catch up on but we are going to a wonderful conference this weekend and sleep in our camper. Missionarieds fro Asia-Interserve-professional people with real jobs who spread the word=it's dangerous for them. And then to work for 4 days. Messed up on reordering Brad's prescriptions and also forgot to mail the check with the telephone bill. No one is perfect, least of all me. Be good. Mima

I love coming in here and reading your posts. Makes me feel like I'm not alone in this. Sometimes I feel like I'm the only one.
I look around me and it seems everybody else is living a 'normal' life ... going to work every day and coming home to their families and NOT falling down exhausted but doing other things as well. I just can't do that any more. I either work OR I play ... can't have it both ways any more. If I do any work during the day, I have to rest that night or if I know I'm doing something at night, I try to rest during the day. If I wind up doing both I pay dearly the next day and wind up taking a day or two off. When vacation time comes around I take pain meds. to get me through it and take a week off afterwards to recoup. I know I'm having company Sunday so I'm already looking 'forward' to that now and I've started cleaning. I'll make part of the food Friday, the potato salad, then the desserts on Saturday, put baked beans in the oven before church Sunday and hubby will grill after church. So it will take me FOUR days to do it. Then I'll start on Monday getting ready for Son's BD party Tues. and we're grilling out for that one, too. I'm buying a BD cake and icecream and that's it. Then I'll go to bed for a couple of days. That's it for me until hubby's BD in October, then Thanksgiving in Nov. and Christmas in Dec. and I'll have to plan that all a week ahead of time, too. Oh well, at least all my cleaning will be done until Spring! Maybe I'll just go to bed in January and hibernate until about the middle of March!!! :p
Hey, when do you get another real vacation Meme-it helps to have something to look forward to. Let's see, the hospital sent my mammogram AND bone density report to the rheumo-straightened that out -had good news, my mammo was fine and the osteoporosis stayed the same, which the doc had said would make him happy-I guess I have some loss in my neck which would be the reason I shrunk an inch and a quarter. We are going to the mission conference this afternoon. hey meme, I'm a great one to do things ahead. I remember my mother peeling potatoes and keeping them in cold water a day ahead. So I learned it from her. I'm already thinking about next week going away to work, planning my outfits. That's number 1. Forgot about leaving food in the house for Brad. Nice not to cook this weekend. It's going to be real hot and we are not sure we will have enough electricity to have air conditioning. But there is no air on the third floor where we stayed last year either. We are bringing a fan. Hope you all ahve a good weekend and stay cool. have a nice time at your party Meme. Bye Mima

Gave my program last night at tops.. I had a lot of good stuff, but, I think most of them were thinking more about going home...  Maybe I was more boring than I thought..I didn't gain this week. I stuck with S/B all week. I want to lose another 4 lbs...

Hi all. Too tired to type much. It is just after 2:00 a.m. and I am off to bed - FINALLY. I am becoming a Candice  I was laying in bed, but my hip was hurting and my leg was thumping like a toothache, so I had to get up. Decided to come play on the computer, and now my pain meds are kicking in.
Hope you all have a great weekend. I am off to Edmonton. It is a long weekend here, and Ashley will come back and stay with Grandma and Grandpa for the rest of the week.

Just pain and more pain and more pain the past few days! Not sure why and my pedometer is still acting up:(
I am in a lot of pain but it is caused by my eating so many things that I have a food sensitivity for-just paying the price. Got lots to do before I go away. Glad there is a computer in the lobby. I even found out how to get my e-mail. Mima

Just sent my flower pictures in so in the next few weeks I will have a link up I'm sure:D
Made a big pot of veggie soup, used chicken broth, tomatoes, turnips, carrots, green
beans, zucchini, mushrooms, corn, celery, kidney beans and edamome (sp). Threw in
some garlic and sweet basil and parsely for flavouring. Comes out to be about 1 pt a
cup and made about 16 cups. Putting it in the freezer so I will have it handy when I
get in my hungry moods!:hun:
Anyone know when you plant your fall crop of lettuce? :?: We have had an unusual
growing season this year so not sure I should even try sewing a few more seeds. I
enjoyed my spring lettuce so much this year, hard to go back to the store bought
stuff!
Gotta stay out of DH's m&m's :m: :m: :m: !!!!!!!!!!!! Blew 10 pts!

MemeToo
08-03-2004, 04:21 PM
I'd like to know that, too!
I just got through reading "Three" by Ted Dekker ... I couldn't put that one down either! It was great. He's a Christian writer but he writes psychological thrillers. No bad language ... I've ordered some more of his books ... can't wait 'till they get here.
I have 12 for a cookout tonight and it looks like rain. Son's BD today ... he's 38. I got up & got dressed, took some darvocet, layed back down, had a man come to look at trailers, stood around out in the hot sun too long with him and got a headache. He finally bought one and I came back in and layed back down and now I feel like I've been drugged, woke up, drugged again and then tied to the back of a truck and DRAGGED.
Candicej
08-04-2004, 01:27 AM
Meme..I can't read thrillers anymore..makes me to tense! Hope your meal went well and you are feeling better......I hate that drugged feeling and that dragged feeling!
The name of the book was The Carousel-can't think of the author but he also wrote The Christmas Box and The Locket-his books are sometimes made into television movies. Really good-I like thrillers so I will see if I can get some books by Dekker. Doing ok eating-lots of walking. Brad is coming up tonight-I'm glad. MIma

Walked 2 miles outside today and now my hips hurt bad! Eating good so far...at least it all tastes good;)
Have fun Joanne. Richard Evans is the author. I got two large print books at the library because they have more of a selection in that section. Last day of work til next week. Now the missionaries may stay somewhere else than in our camper. I don't think the mission director knows how nice our camper is. Oh well, that was a lot of stress for me. Brad was here last night-makes things seem normal. Gotta check out and argue about the 3$ bottle of water they charged me for last time. Mima

Whew... that must've been some water!
I gotta get new glasses soon, too. Goin' blind here. But I dread it because I have to have soooo many. Bifocals, sunglasses, computer glasses, piano glasses ... tooooo many glasses. Wish I could just go back to my contacts. Guess that's what happens when you get old and decrepit.
More rain today ... the fair starts here tonight, looks like it may get rained out on the first night. Hubby has rented out space between the midway and the rides to set trailers. Hope he can at least get them up there and get them set up for the weekend. I sold one Monday and one this morning. Gonna have to order some more. Have to run to town and print him some flyers I made for the fair and buy him some cotton shirts to wear at night ... it's soooo hot up there. There's just not enough hours in the day anymore. It's hard to teach and run a business and take care of grandchildren and have BD parties and do housework, laundry, shopping etc. - and all this time I'm supposed to be staying off my ankle ... yeah, right!
Candicej
08-06-2004, 05:53 AM
Meme...why can't he get his shirts and flyers????????????
Did another 2 miles outside..still hurtin'! Took my camera along this time to catch the sunset............in the corn fields..........
Mima...3.00 water? I hope it had something special in it!!!!!!!
It was Dasani and I never would pay that. I only get bottled water for when I am in the car. The clerk in the hotel said she would look it up and give me a credit. It sounded like it was not the first time that this had happened. It is good to be home. A Fair in Tennessee sounds like fun Meme-except when you have to work at it. I got home one day early and am glad to have extra time off. Only 3 days next week. I have to come home to straighten out my IBS til I go back. That's a good reason to be home but I do love to see my friends and also activate the knowledge that I received from 34 years of teaching. I am not sure the Missionaries are going to stay with us-one less stress. Then I can enjoy their visit because they are going to speak at Brad's church plus there is going to be a pot luck supper at night. Going to give the condo to a realtor on Monday. Mima

Morning, all! I'm hanging in just a half pound above onederland. You'd think I'd be able to get rid of that, wouldn't you? That's my goal for now. Nothing big, just a crummy but tough half pound.
Weather suddenly fall-like here and loverly. I'm planning to take a three day
"at home" vacation, just going here and there and being lazy (as lazy as I dare be). Want to take advantage of the cooler, less humid stuff before the ragweed locks me inside again. Weeds incredibly large in some parts of garden but I'm only going to pull enough of them that it's "fun". I like it if I don't overdo it.
Hope you're enjoying your trip, Joanne.

Hi everybody.
Mima - glad you finished working. It is nice to have something to occupy your time like that.
Meme - As I said before, you are as busy as you want to be. There is that simple little word in the English language known as "NO". Hope your hubby sells lots of trailers. Sounds like a good little business going on there.
Candice - good on you, walking 2 miles. I wish I could do that. It seems like I can go good for a couple of days, and then I can't seem to move without a LOT of pain. Have to go to the Dr. next week and find out what is going on with that darn hip. I believe it is OA getting a little worse, but it would be nice to no. Also, will find out the results from the mammogram.
Anagram - I will join you next week in a mine holiday at home :) Have had my little grand daughter with me this week. I have been battleing fatigue as well, but can't give into it at all. Just kind of walk around in a daze for half the day.
Joanne - I guess you are visiting with your daughter. Have fun.
Well, baked cookies today. Chocolate Chip and Raisin Oatmeal. We have a family reunion on Sunday, so I am getting started. Darn, those cookies are soooo good fresh from the oven. Ashley thought so too. Told me I make the BEST chocolate chip cookies ever  Gotta love 'em!
Hope everybody is well. Will be back to normal next week.

I had to make the flyers and have them run off for him ... he didn't have time. Had to get him the shirts, too. He worked all day and then came home, loaded up the trailers and then took them to the fair and set them up and stayed with them until nearly 10 p.m. Then he had to get up and go in to work at 6 the next morning. It's not like he wasn't doing anything! He will have to be up there every night (except Sunday) all next week, too. I may go for a little while tomorrow night ... depends on how I feel. The world class horse show is at 7. Then Mon. night is the gospel singing, I'd kind-of like to go to that, too, if I can get somebody to go with me. Maybe the kids will go and let the little kids go on some of the rides.
I sold 3 trailers this week ... and 2 tires ... kept the tire money as my 'commission' so I wound up with $100 mad money! (That's what I call my commission money ... it's money to do whatever I want to with!) ;) I spend the money I make teaching on clothes, books, having my nails done every 2 weeks, things like that. I think I'll start putting my commissions back for a little vacation around Christmas time. I'll probably be in need of one by then! :p
Good for you meme. I thought I was going to have today off but word is that the missionaries are coming and their daughter might stay here too. At least we have a twin bed in the house. Somehow that doesn't seem as intimidating if the daughter is around. Maybe it's no deep discussions-who knows. I am going back to work Tues night for 3 days. That is sort of the problem because I won't be home til Friday night. Told Brad he has to keep house clean. Here is some fantastic news. My son called me and he went with his mother in laws significant other to Miami and purcheased a handicap van. 1998 with 9,000 miles because the people only used it to transport thier father to appointments etc. This is the best-Charlie pd 18,000 and Mike the 1,000 and will give him the money from selling their second vehicle, a big van that was used when they had a lot of foster kids. I always thought Charlie was so frugal with his money but......It had a ramp that is powered electrically and then Alison goes up in her wheelchair and get strapped in. She is 14 and a regular teenage girl so they had to lift her in and out-put the wheelchair in the trunk and out again so this will be awesome. I don't think they will have to lift her much anymore because she has a ramp beside her bed that she scoots up on and also can transfer into her wheelchair. And she has the bathtub with the door on it that you open before you fill the tub. Well, that's the news. I still want to go to your fair Meme-especially to hear the gospel singing. Mima

Charlie sounds like the answer to prayer, Mima. The guests when I'm not there would be tensing to me too but that's the kind of thing I'm trying to learn to let go. You're doing them a kindness so they should not be critical if everything isn't ship-shape while you're gone. But I know how you feel.
I'd love to have my granddaughters for a week, Happy. But I also would be exhausted. Have been having the urge to bake oatmeal cookies for dh - and want to make a pumpkin pie for gd when she comes next.
Had a lovely day yesterday. Went out for a great lunch at a nice place then drove a bit to a lake at a state park. We've been there before but usually go to the other lake in the park - bigger with boating etc (though we just watch). So yesterday we went to the one with a beach and watched people shivering in the cold water - air temp only made it to 72 yesterday (part of the lovely for me). Anyway we saw that it had a nice paved trail and took a nice long (for us) leisurely walk - really felt out in the middle of nowhere. Lots of lovely trails off it as well and (for the first time in a long time) I wished I could still do those.
It's mid morning here and I'm still in my robe. Doing some laundry but no special plans except for later this afternoon when we're going to the racetrack for a bit this evening. May also do some more fun weeding. I did a fair amount last evening but only because I wanted to. Have ignored it since dh was in hospital last month so I'm mostly pulling only the biggest all around to make it look less wild - perfect MIGHT come later. So many things I could do but, hey, if I were away spending money on some resort I couldn't worry about them so I'm not. I'm here in body only.
Great weekend, all!

Hips still hurtin so no walk today but I'm at 8000 steps anyway. Nice weather, I could get used to this!
Good morning! Saw a picture of the van and it looks brand new. Guests are not coming til Sat night AFTER dinner-good-only here for the continental breakfast I will serve because of early church where he will preach-lunch?-don't know-potluck at church in the evening and an ealy depature on Monday morning because they have to take their son to Boston"s airport. Not too bad and it's only my insanity that worries . Plus I will have all day Saturday and Brad has to do a lot like mow and vacuum camper. The blinds in the bedroom broke so I got some walmart curtains to put on a tension rod that you can open and close. Hate those mini blinds. They are so fragile. What a lovely excursion you had Anagram. Went to friendly's last night and then saw a movie-Little Black Book-it was really a chick flick but it takes your mind off things. Bye for now. Mima

Anagram- That Park with the lake and trails sounds like a great place to me. I like walking and don't get to go to places like that. I have to be satisfied with walking to the beach. I do walk through a county park to get to the beach. I have been sticking to the treadmil lately ,it is just too hot to walk out right now.
Hello everybody.. I had a nice time up at my daughters. I was a little busy though . I was helping her with some things . She is getting ready for school to open. I made some curtains for her office and did a lot of cooking ets. She was having her kitchen wallpapered. The border was up when she came home from school. She didn't like it at all.. So we spent 2+ hours stripping it off and washing the glue off the walls. What a mess!It looked much better. It was just too many sun flowers..
My sister went to the hospital this A.M. They are going to do some I.V's and try to get this CHF under control. She should have been there 2 weeks ago. Please send some prayers up..

Good morning!!!One time I came home to find that painter had painted my side door kelly green instead of soft green I had picked out. Yes, you can have too many sunflowers. I had a hydrangea border in my bedroom and there were too many but it was so expensive I left it up. Gave the condo to a realtor-same nice lady that sold my house. So we will get a few less dollars and a lot less headache. Never again will I try to sell my own property. Off to work this afternoon for 3 days. I guess I will be pretty well set for the company-trying to focus on what an awesome job they are doing in South Africa-overseeing 10 Aids projects and more to come. It's such an epidemic over there. And how it must feel not to see their 3 children all summer. And the deliscious easy dessert I will make for the potluck . A trifle with a leftover cake from the party that I froze. Lemon . Joanne ... that's what I take when the Darvocet doesn't work.
Got bit by a spider (I guess) at church Sun. night. I reached into a plant to pull some dead leaves right before the service started and it nailed me ... on the back of my right hand. Hurt like the dickens. Pastor said something sharp in the plant stuck me ... said he could see something sticking out of my hand ... then said maybe it was a bee and that was a stinger. Turned the plant up and shook it but nothing came out. I went ahead and played for most of the service but my hand began to swell up. He was sitting on the stage, behind me (I was at the piano, of course). I turned and held my hand down where he could see it and he raised his eyebrows. Then he gets in the pulpit and announces that I had been bitten by a spider ... hubby leans forward in his seat (in shock I guess)! ;) My hand just keeps getting bigger. I finally had to go to the kitchen and get some ice to go on it and let someone else play the last couple of songs. (Not good ...) The pain went nearly to my elbow before it stopped but my heart never did skip a beat or get fast or anything so guess it wasn't very venomous. My hand is still swollen a little and red and it itches like crazy and I have a small hole in it. I went to the Dr. yesterday and he assured me it wasn't a brown recluse ... after I didn't die, that was my next big concern - there are a lot of those around here and if they bite you the flesh around the bite just rots away! :p So, since I didn't die, I guess I'll be OK! :D SPIDERS ... UGH! I really HATE spiders ... always have. I have a THING about spiders ... I sure won't be reaching my hand into any more plants at church!!!

Hi everybody.
I guess Mima is away for a few days. Hope she enjoys herself.
Candice - Hope you are feeling better. Of course, we get pain with everything we do. Doesn't seem fair, but it is a fact of life.
Meme - A spider bite! Gosh I don't like spiders. Hope you are feeling ok. Hope you are having a quieter week, but somehow, I doubt it.
Joanne - glad you and your daughter had a good visit. I am sure she appreciated your help.
Anagram - Hope both you and your hubby are feeling good. Did you bake cookies? I did. I baked chocolate chip and Oatmeal Raisin and took them to our family reunion. Little people and well as big people LOVE cookies. Don't like to have many hanging around here. I have been buying Biscotti. They take longer to eat and are more filling and not near as addictive. I enjoy them as well.
Last week I had Ashley staying with me. A good kid, for sure. We had our Family Reunion on Sunday and she ended up at ER for stitches to her chin. She had 4 stitches so the gash was pretty big. She has to have them out on Sunday this week. She was running a fell against a rusty old firepit. Other than that everybody enjoyed themselves.
Hope you all have a good day.

Go see my new business website ... I've worked and worked on this background ... WHEW ... that's a LOT of JAVA!!! I do believe that's the hardest one I've done yet! Now I have a couple of other people who are wanting me to put it on their sites! It is pretty neat ... I had to pay for the design and then take it apart and change all the colors and make new backgrounds to fit my business. The mouse-over buttons alone have 48 different color codes in them although you can only actually SEE 2 ... unbelievable!!! To see the HTML codes, click on View at the top of the screen and then click Source from the drop down menu. The page that comes up is the HTML code I had to edit in order to get what you see on the screen. I usually just write my own but I really like that background and couldn't figure out exactly how to make it so I just bought it!

Joanne - have been thinking of you all day and hope you're ok and things didn't go really bad for you. Also praying for your sister that they get her on a better track.
Hope your spider bite problems have subsided, Meme, sounds awful.
Nope, haven't baked any cookies yet, Happy. Maybe next week. I've been scraping along, not losing, not gaining anything substantial but I did get to water workout three times this week.
Wednesday we took a bus trip to Wolf Trap, VA to hear the Boston Pops. I just feel a lot better since we got away even one day. That plus the at home weekend have me feeling a lot better. Dh seems to be holding his own and there's been a bit more fun in my life lately. May it continue!
Good morning-computer down in hotel so I couldn't use it. Glad you are ok from spider-friend of mine got bitten from recluse-had a hole in her leg-Charley hit Ft Myers and Mike has 7 trees laying on his pool cage. He needed a new one!!!!!!But they are ok. When I heard the radio when I got out of work, I started to cry but was relieved when I got home because he had called-I left my cell phone at home. They also had a power line in front of their house. Missionaries coming by this morning and then back tonight to sleep for 3 nights. We will see their schedule and find out what meals to plan. They miss hamburgers so it will not be hard. I am focusing on the great work they do and how they must miss their kids and they will be happy that we will provide for them, Brad says its a blessing-he is a blessing!!Besides, I have a bd coming so he will be thankful to me!!!Haha! My daughter came to the hotel and we had a nice visit and swim!!!!She just got a promotion at work. She and boyfriend are doing fine-hope it lasts. Bye for now Mima-I woke upo so early......

Anagram- We were prepared. Although we didn't plan to leave our house.. That may have been a mistake if the storm had really come our way. We have a lot of trees around our house..We hardly got any rain as it was.
Mima- I thought of your family as soon as I say the storm was going that way.. I am glad they are ok.
Now I see there is another one on its way.. Probably next week..
Now I have to put everything back in place that we put away in the yard..
Hello Everybody...Joanne
Good morning-our company is here and it is working out very nicely-lunch at noon after church and potluck tonight and they have to leave at 6 am. Glad you didn't get hit joanne. Mike took a ride to Ft Lauderdale to go in the air-conditioned van and get something to eat. Problem is no electricity now. And he can't work and it's hot. Hope the other one stays far away. Alison;s school lost their gymnasium. Brad was thinking of going down to help but not sure. he is busy here and he figures there will still be things to do when we get there. I can't even hear any rain here. Mima

So glad you and your families are ok......On our news they said Charlie had lost its power and would not do much damage then I saw the news the next day! Mother nature was not kind at all this time, hope the next one fizzels out before it gets too close! Again, glad you are all ok.
Made a new recipe...I WW trail mix for 3 pts a serving, yumm..but ate too much!
Things are disapearing around here and not just food! I know I left my watch on Dh's placemat to take for a battery and he says he does not have it! Then my magnifying glass disappeared......sometimes I wonder if I am in the early stages of alzheimers, since it hit my dad early............scarey thought!

Hmm, Candice, maybe whoever is eating your food, is taking your stuff. You got racoons around  Seriously, if you don't sleep all night, how can you be sleep eating pray tell :dizzy:
Joanne - thank foodness that storm missed you. What a terrible thing is was. Sure let's you no who the boss it, that is for sure.
Mima - hope you have enjoyed the missionaries. We have billeted many Danish dancers or musicians, and I love that. It is so nice to have people come stay. You do build up a fast friendship with lots of them, that seems to last.
Meme - hope you are doing ok. Your website looks good. How's the spider bite doing?
Anagram - STILL no cookies? I told hubby today, that I am going shopping for groceries everyday and will only buy exactly what we need for the day. Nothing left to nosh on  I don't think he was very impressed with my idea. What better way to keep food out of the house, than never bringing it it!
Last night I watched a Canadian documentary on diets. None of them work. Maintaining is the hardest and people who do that become obsessed with it. Meme has found the answer. I am trying to follow her example. It is the only way. Some of these diets are downright dangerous to your health.

Oh me or my ... you guy are sooo good for me. I was feeling down until I came in here ... you make me laugh!!! I'm really hurting. I needed to laugh!
Glad no one was hurt from Charlie! Hope the next one passes you by as well!
Missing food, missing watch and missing magnifying glass. Hmmm ... I don't know for sure Sherlock, but maybe that's not all that's missing! :mag:
Hey, Anne, are you thinking about food so much now that you've started saying thank foodness instead of thank goodness? :hun:
I had to go get Jenna from Kindergarten at 11:30 every day last week and keep her until 5:30 or 6. She is a real pain!!! In my face ... like GLUE! Not a minutes peace with that child. I do love her so but I got no rest all week and then had to clean my house AND the church yesterday and had another full day today. Except for teaching and taking care of the trailer business, I'm taking this week OFF! No house work except for just what HAS to be done and not much cooking is going to be going on either. I have a big pot of cabbage beef soup planned that should last for a couple of nights and a chicken cassarole and we're eating out Wed. and Fri. I'm staying in bed and on the couch most of the week! I really feel bad! I weighed 4 pounds more than usual this morning ... you should see my feet, ankles and knuckles ... they are huge! (Well, they are never really huge because they are so bony to start with ... but they're swollen.) The inside of my mouth even feels swollen!!! I have three books and went to Block Buster's and got some movies so I'm down and out 'till at least Friday!
I thought the spider bite was getting better, then Friday it broke out all around the bite in tiny little blisters. Had to go to Wal Mart an get some Benadryl to put on it. Weird. It still itches like crazy sometimes and it's still a little swollen, too. Must of been some spider ... they killed one in the back of the church this morning and somebody said they got the spider that bit you back there. Hubby laughed and said, "No ... couldn't be the one that got her, it died right after it bit her." He's so mean! When we cleaned I made him do the plants ... told him I wasn't sticking my hands in no more plants! I noticed he used sissors to get the dead leaves out! ;)
Good morning-it has been awesome having Dennis and Lynette here and their son John last night. They are taking him to the airport and will come back to gather up their things. We had a potluck at church last night and saw a video about the orphanage in South Africa for the children of parents who died form Aida. It's an epidemic there-mostly because of immorality. You should have heard Dennis preaxch yesterday-he is aewsome. And they are so down to earth. And we sokd the condo. That guy that wanted it before called a realto and wanted to see it again. He also called last week. Hew wouldn't have paid the $148,000 that we got but now we have to pay the reqltor. We don't really care. It's only money. He was troo difficult to deal with and it wasn'y going to get any better. I have been awake since 3:30. Mima

Meme - I must have had food on the brain, or should I say fingers
Mima - glad you enjoyed your visitors. As I said before, it can be a great experience, billeting people. Hey, glad you sold your condo. That man is an idiot to pay for more for the same thing. Oh well! it's his buck, I guess. Let the realtor earn his money by dealing with him.
I got the results of my x-ray on my hip and it does show o/a. It is what the Dr. expected. It didn't show up 4 years ago. On the upside, I also got the results of my mammogram. I have had to go every 6 months for the past while, because they saw something. This time, I don't have to go back for 1-2 years. My Dr. sends me every year anyway. The radiologist thought what he saw was a bunch of little cysts. I stopped using Estrogen a few months ago, and perhaps that is why they have gone away(that is what the tech said who did the mammogram). I still get a very few night sweats, but it isn't too bad now. I think I am making it to the otherside
Everybody have a good day.

So glad Charlie was kind. Meme, hope that bite soon clears up. Nope, Anne, no cookies yet. I was thinking I'd make them when the granddaughters are here this week but they're probably only going to be here overnight (on their way to Nana's) so probably won't be enough time.
Fresh start again this a.m. Had a good day yesterday and a really good night's sleep last night. Am off to pool, dh to golf. I'm so glad to see him golfing again though he pushes himself and is tired afterwards. He should have gone for bloodwork today but he's a grown man and I can only remind him.
I'm adjusting to most of the results of the Plavix but I think I'll have to see dr. about my stomach - feeling hungry every three hours or so. I was this way before he put me on Protonix and suspect this is one reason I gained so much weight. Now I'm trying to space out parts of my meals so it doesn't bother me so much but I can get really nauseous in the mornings after so long without food. And no, not at 66!
Attacked a bush or two yesterday, have one corner of the garage cleaned out, have several more bags of papers to be shredded - they're going to be doing it at a local shopping mall in a couple of weeks. DH had done about six hours worth on our little shredder the last few weeks. I'm actually having fun doing this stuff in a haphazard way. It's still getting SOMETHING done but as I feel in the mood rather than finishing one thing before I start another. Lots of rest in between!
Hope everyone enjoys these last few weeks of summer!

Ha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Going....... going.......... gone! :D
Good morning-that man that drove us crazy did NOT get the condo-some nice single lady did-best scenario for the other people who live there-That man said to call him if deal fell through. Oh , you should see how thin Lynette is-she cannot eat any grains at all so she only eats meat and vegetables-isn't that the Atkins diet. I feel bad for her-she gets aches and pains and that means anything with corn syrup etc-I thought I was bad!!!!!We signed the purchase and sale agreement yesterday-the realtor came to our house. Now I have to start working on the church fair. Brad's uncle is nonresponsive in the nursing home so we have a funeral in our future. Near future. I was so tired yesterday, I got mad at Brad but I had a good reason. But I don't usually get mad at him. Bye for now., Mima
