I have been working seriously at weight loss/fitness for 7 weeks. I weigh 236.25, down from 237. Pretty disappointing.I have reduced the amounts I eat and have cut out some serious bingeing and fats in my diet.Although I feel GREAT, it is hard not to see results. Inches are the same too.I have been to the DR last week to rule medical reasons for this. Waiting for bloodwork results.
I followed the show but didn't do it. I borrowed the book and didn't get very far with it.That was mostly a time thing.I will get the book out again.
I have had some BIG revelations emotionally over the last couple of weeks.
Maybe now is the time.
I am looking for feedback, ideas, success stories,advice....

I am no expert but what I can tell you about Dr.Phil's book is that it isn't a diet. It is a change. The short amount of time I have been cracking at this I have fallen off the wagon a couple times, but am finding it easier to get back on. I am learning things about different foods (If you do try it you MUST get the Ultimate Food Guide--it is fantastic and removes all doubt about what you should and should not eat) It is a great plan but possibly not for everyone. If you feel you are ready then try it. It is a big commitment but you can do it!

This is what I have found so far today.....(I have both books) I have followed the meal plan for today. I was not really hungry most of the day but I am pacing around the kitchen looking for food, right now. I was eating about 15-1800 cal a day, 40 g of fat.....for 7 weeks with no results. I broke this down for breakfast ,snacks and lunch and it is 564 cal and 18 g fat,Protein is higher than I was eating. It is 1 1/2 hours til supper and I am really hungry. I have aready eaten a whole yellow pepper and 1 c of carrots.Do I keep on eating veggies?
I realize I am changing some bad lifestyle issues. It is the first day. It is VERY hard
not to eat cheese and bread right now. I just drooled!

LOL!!! I am having the hardest time keeping away from potatoes! I LOVE MASHED, FRIED, BAKED POTATOES!! I am under the impression you can eat as many High Yield veggies and fruits that you want. I promise though--it gets easier.

hi there,
i'm not on dr. phil's plan but if i'm hungry before supper or lunch i have a glass of v8. it's filling and nutritious and tasty and low cal
good luck guys

Yes you can eat as many of the high yield veggies as you want.
I've had a tough time on this plan as I'll do well for several days and then something throws me off and it is very tough to get back to it. It is very difficult not to eat stuff like bread, crackers, cookies etc.
I drink the V8 juice too when I am so hungry I could eat a horse. It fills you up right away without many calories and is more satisfying than water.

Thanks gals....I need to get some V8.I went off plan for a party on Sunday but I am back at it today. I am off for a high yeild breaky.
I also drink water, brush my teeth or try to distract myself in other ways when I get feeling extremely hungry. It is rough but I just try to remember that if I wanted to do things the easy way I would weight 500 lbs! This is an uphill battle but one that we can win.
Still if I am so hungry that nothing is working I'll go ahead and have something to eat. Better to have something little before I binge.

Are you following Dr. Phil's meal plans? I found while following those I was rarely hungry as long as I followed the portions recommended. Water is a great deterrent though. So is a lot of fruit.
I'm not following them really. I am following the plan ie 1 serving of protein per meal etc, etc and I try to eat the appropriate servings. Sometimes I find though that even a ton of veggies and a protein serving are just not enough at dinner. Then usually I will add in an additional carb serving or fruit but I usually wait until I am really, really hungry.

Hi! I was just reading your posts. I've been on Dr. Phil for about 5 weeks now and it gets hard sometimes but I've found the Dr. Phil bars and shakes to be very helpful. I usually have a bar for mid-morning snack and shake mid-afternoon. I don't do the shakes everyday but i do eat the bars every day. I found them at the dollar tree for 3/$1. They curb my appetite for about 3 hours or so.I have found nothing in either book about them but I've lost 14 lbs so it must not be too bad. Just a thought...Have a good day!
