Default Im new and in pain

Hi

I am new to this forum, i have been on the atkins diet for about 2 months now. The past week i have been having some severe abdominal pains in my upper right part of my abdomen, the pain is just below my ribcgage, and the pain gets worse after I eat. Does anyone know what this could be?

Thanks

Mary

Please call your doctor first thing tomorrow! This isn't something to fool around with. Even if the pain goes away in the meantime, please get checked, so they can keep tabs on it. Be sure to let them know you are on Atkins. Many health experts believe that the Atkins plan is best for people that are in good health to begin with. With your family history, this may not include you. You may want to consider another plan, such as Weight Watchers or South Beach.

Good luck

Yep definately sounds like gallbladder problems. One thing about gallbladder and atkins they say that if you have a "diseased" gallbladder or gallstones that you want to stay away from fat as much as you can because it irritates the gallbladder causing it to spasm. I recently had my gallbladder removed, and I know how horribly excruciating these attacks are! Please go see your doctor immediately.
Good luck

You probably have already figured it out, but it could also maybe be an ulcer. My daughter had an ulcer and had some of the same symptoms. Judy
