I knew I couldn't do it. My husband and I live in wine country in Northern California and we have wine every Fri and Sat. I thought maybe I could skip the Fri night during Phase 1, but since I had a bad day at work, I just couldn't do it. I've been pretty good all week I think. I definitely feel a difference in my mid section (although it doesn't show at all on the scale), I haven't had any starches at all. The only way I went off the diet was by accidentally eating something I shouldnt' have like beef jerky, the wrong peanut butter and too many SF cals. But I think I did good. So my question is, if I'm going to cheat with wine, is it better to drink it with something than alone? Usually we have chocolate with red wine, but I know I can't have that. Maybe some almonds might be good?

I have another question. I'm really surpried that I didn't lose anything at all in these 5 days because I'm really sure that I've lost something in my mid section. I don't care what the scale says as long as I fit into my clothes. But will it be harder for me to lose much weight because I already don't weight too much? I'm 114 right now and would like to get to at least 110, but preferably 105 (I'm petite). Is it going to be harder for me to lose even on the SBD Phase 1?

It definitely will be harder to lose on Phase I if you have a small amount to lose. It will be even harder or impossible if you continue to eat the wrong foods and drink wine.
The purpose of Phase I is to detox your body and this won't happen unless you stick strictly to Plan.

Sorry but it IS a diet and that means restrictions. It's up to you whether or not you commit to it.

I read the artical taken from Web MD with Dr. Agatston. He said wine witha meal actual slows the digestion of food. Please read the article posted in this section. You might find it interesting.

But I don't think he recommends wine until Phase 2.

Definitely not until Phase II. And yes, I have read the article! I think I moved it into FAQ!
