Hey Floozies.....Jennelle sent me a PM message today. She thought it would be neat if this year at Christmas we all sent each other an ornament. It could either be handmade or bought. I told her everyone is as talented as Gayle. What does everyone think of this? I think it would be neat!!!

Give us your ideas or suggestions!!

Also...Gayle had a great idea of starting a thread with before & after pics of loosing weight.Who would be interested in this?

I'm in for the ornament. Neat idea Jennelle!!!!! So, we would get an ornament and send to each Floozie or would we draw names again?

Sher, I really like Omen (nemo spelled backwards) the swimming welcome fishie!!!!

Sherry-I love your new welcome sign! Jennelle's idea sounds great. I would have to buy mine, I'm not talented in the art area at all!! Although I don't use a Christmas tree, I hang ornaments on garlands over my doors to decorate for Chanukah. I also like Gayle's idea about before and after pictures. I still have my before picture from a couple of years ago. I also have my after when I was at my lowest weight, and now I'd need to take a new one. It is scary though. It's in a bathing suit.

I have a hint for today:EXERCISE!! No matter how you do it. Don't pick the closest parking space when you are going to the store. Try to get one farther back. Every little bit helps!

Sherry: I just LOVE the WELCOME SIGN! As Dori would say... just keep swimming, just keep swimming, just keep swimming. Thanks for the inspiration for my motivation for today.

JUST KEEP SWIMMING... Whether we are 100% OP or 50% OP it is always a constant battle.. But we can do this if we just keep swimming (trying). We can't give up or we have already lost. I for one refuse to lose... How about you?

JUST KEEP SWIMMING LADIES!!!!

Count me in on the ornament for Christmas. I love that idea!!! WTG Jennelle!!!

Even though I hate my before pic (as I am sure we all do) count me in on the before and after pics too. That is a super idea Gayle.

snack ideas for low carb eaters: deviled eggs, cheese sticks, beef jerky, and nuts (such as almonds & pecans).

Eat when you have real hunger and choose the healthy counterparts to what you are craving. An example would be to choose a piece of grilled chicken over fried, loaded with a crunchy and greasy coating. Natural/no sugar added peanut butter over the more popular brands ~~ sugar free candies over sugar filled candies ~ baked potato over fried potatoes ~~~~~~ you get the idea~~~~~

I found this:

Diet Mistake No 1
Most dieters don't eat enough.
Result? They get so hungry, they give up.

Diet Mistake No 2
Most dieters want to lose weight too fast.
Result? They get so impatient, they give up.

Diet Mistake No 3
Most dieters don't understand fat.
Result? They eat the wrong food

Wishing everyone a successful OP day! I hope the hope and motivation here on the board is contagious!!!!

Shelley, I really liked your exercising hint. It makes sense!

Jennelle
07-23-2004, 11:32 AM
Are we leaving hints today?

Here's mine: Take it one day at a time. But don't take that to mean that you must be perfect. If you have to, take it one minute at a time, or one second at a time even. Every second you make loving choices about how you're going to treat your body will add up.

I LOVE everyone's motivationals!!!!! Thanks for the support!!! Overall, I have been OP about 80% this week. Maybe next week will be better & easier.:D

We are leaving at 6:00 to go camping. It's a 3 hour drive. We'll be back Sunday night. Debbie & James left yesterday morning. We are meeting up with them. They have a cabin. It should be fun! We are renting a pondtune (sp) boat all day tomorrow. I'll check in when we get home. Be good...Stay Op...And Have A Great Weekend!! ;)

Debbie and Sherry enjoy your time at the cabin. Watch out for the bare, I mean bear.

The christmas ornament sounds like a nice idea. We can share what our decorating theme is so it would make it easier for the other person. I like that. When ever I use my make up bag I think of Vicki. It is very special to me.

I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. The surgeon is going to operate. Not something that I should be excited about but I am. I will be able to get back to living. I don't have a date yet but they think at the end of august. I will find out next week.

Last night we went to a park where there was live jamaican music and dancing. We enjoyed watching everyone.

Tonight we are having friends down that we met in Puerta Vallarta. I can't have any bee, poor me. Well soon enough.

Oh rodeo, oh rodeo here we come. Tomorrow I can check out the good looking cowboys. I love Rodeos. Gayle I am surprised that you don't enjoy them. I love watching the cowboys ride the bulls. Mutton busting to is great.

Hope that you all enjoy your weekend.

Everyone seems to be out and about this beautiful weekend.

I myself have 2 not 1 but 2 family reunions... One is done.. yesterday.. and I have to admit... I didn't stay OP very well. Now be honest.. who could with every food imaginable at your fingertips!! Well today is another one and I will try harder to stay as close to being OP as I can.. but I am not going to punish myself if I don't... We all deserve a break from time to time. But I will do my best to try to make good food choices today!!!

Gayle: I love your tips!!! wonderful!!

Shelley: Thanks for your exercise tip... I have a hard time with that one, but you are right.. we need to exercise.

Jennelle: Loving caring choices... I love how you put that... Isn't that the truth.. We need to take care of ourselves by making loving, caring choices... Thanks for keeping me upbeat about me!!

Debbie & Sherry: I hope you are having a great time!!!

Dee: I hope your surgery brings you the relief you need!!! Thinking of you!!

To everyone else I am out of time and must go, but I having forgotten you..... Have a wonderful, happy, healthy, loving, kind to yourself day!!

Hugs to all my friends

Everyone have a wonderful day!!

It is very lonely over there at the exercise board. I have already gone over my goal for the month, but there is nobody over there to tell!

I had a lady stop me yesterday when I was running (actually she joined me on a bit of my run) and asked for running tips. She said she is going on 43 and can't seem to get back into running with all the heat and has noticed me running everyday even in the heat. She asked me how far I was going. When I said 8, I think she was a bit stunned, but when I told her I was 51, I think she was even more surprised that I was continuing to run in all this heat at my advanced age. I just love it!! Made my day.

HI Ladies!! I am back. We had a great time camping. We stayed` at Jellystone park and it was so much fun. Yall's cowboy talked reminded me of the karioki(sp) that they had at the campground last night. This one "cowboy" got up and sang a song called "Save a Horse Ride a Cowboy". It reallly was a fun song. They say they play it on ESPN all the time but I had never heard it. I admire those brave people who can get up and sing there hearts out.

Hope you all had a great weekend and are fresh and ready to start the work week.

Thanks for all the motivational thoughts and helpful hints. I enjoyed reading them and plan on using some of them.

The ornament idea sounds like fun. I would love to participate. And the before and after picture I can do to.

Check back in later

Hello

We have fun camping. We really didn't do much but relax and sit around and talked and played cards. Debbie & I did take a long walk!! :D The guys fished all weekend and didn't catch a thing! Poor guys!

Dee,
Please let us know when you're having surgery. I'll keep you in my prayers. I know everything will go well for you. Chris had a WONDERFUL time is Canada! He loves it there! All except the "cold" weather! He said it was 49 in the morning and around the high 60's in the daytime. He said those "NOCIM'S" (some type of fly) were aweful. They bit all the time. We don't have those here...whatever they are!

I can't post to everyone right now. I'm so tired. I'll be back on tomorrow....

Goodnight.....
Love to all........

Hint for today: DRINK, DRINK, DRINK the water!!!!! You will feel fuller, your body will feel so much better and your skin will improve,

Sherry, when you have a free minute, would you mind removing my 15 pound chick for me??? I'm a ditz and can't figure it out. THANK YOU!!!!

I am starting over fresh today ~~~ I made a trip to the grocery store and I am stocked with healthy foods ~~~ No more excuses for me.

Also, I am ready to post a "before" (current) pic if you decide to do an album.

I'm back from Nebraska!!

It was great, although very hot. For some reason I was expecting it to be cooler up there! Speaking of Wrangler butts--we had a very good-looking, transplanted-from-TX-to-CO, cowboy in with our Arkansas group. Dang, but was he h-o-t!!! He had a very nice "Wrangler butt" along with a pair of eyes so blue they'd knock ya backwards! Ummmm mmmmm!

We didn't take the bus through KS, after all. We went through Iowa. Beautiful.....

I ate the WHOLE time I was up there, too. Seriously, I gained 8 pounds, but that FOOD! It was worth every ounce! I'll just have to work SO much harder now that I'm back home.

The next training I have is next week in Little Rock. After that, I should be through w/the traveling for awhile. Maybe I can get some of this weight back off then.

Gayle and Carol--thanks for 'trying' to keep the rest of us motivated. I say 'trying' because I think I need more help than humanly possible at this point. It does help to read y'all's posts, though!

Hello to everyone!! Glad y'all all seem to be having a wonderful summer! Dee--hope they get you into surgery soon--can't wait till you're 100% again!

Thanks Gayle. It was very hard saying goodbye again. Seems like I've done an awful lot of that this year. He kept a very brave face on for me but I didn't do as well. Today is also the 2 month anniversary of my mom's passing. Luckily I was extremely busy at work today so I didn't have a lot of time to think about it. Thanks for thinking of me. Good luck with your new found strength to stay OP!

Love and God's blessings to all my friends......

Doni-You must get some horrible storms in Indiana! I can't believe all the heartbreak they cause. Do you have surge protectors in your house and a ups on your computer?? If you don't you NEED to put them on layaway ASAP!! They do wonders! You can probably find some cheap on ebay.

Ramona-This has been a very rough year for you. You are an amazing woman, able to get through such tough times by bouncing right back!

Tina-I am so proud of you for all the walking that you have been doing.

This is my last day to enjoy peace at school. The teachers come back tomorrow. UGH!! 5 or 6 came in yesterday. Keys, planners, orders, etc.

Cheryl-Why not try to make some wise food choices while at the meetings? I'm sure they have some things that would be much better for you. (I'll get off my soapbox now!)

Exercise hint for the day: If you are at your desk, watching tv, or just reading a book, or even at the dinner table try clenching your butt muscles for a few seconds, then relax and repeat several times. Even if you are eating something you shouldn't, you will be exercising your butt!!

Hello girls!

Glad your back Cheryl, I missed you! Is the "cute butt guy" going on the next trip??? If so,cop a "feel" for me!! LOL!!!!

Doni, when it rains, it pours!!!! YOU POOR DEAR! We have had to do the same exact thing at times. Thank goodness for lay-aways, that is how I do most of my Christmas shopping. Congrats on meeting your goal! Are you still doing the Dr. Phil plan?

Ramona, bless your heart. You have had a very rough year, but like Shelley said, you are a very strong women and will come through it all even that much stronger. {{{HUGS}}}

Shelley, thank you for the butt tip today!!!! I need to be doing that exercise 24/7!!!!

Allison started her jump-start program yesterday, it is only 2 hours per day. It is an optional program kindergarten students can attend to prepare them for school. The first day, it was suggested parents could stay. Can you believe out of 22-23 kids only 4 moms stayed!!! She was very excited, rattled away all the way home, she also informed me that today she would be going by herself, no need for me to stay with her, she is now a "pro". :-)

I stayed 100% OP yesterday!!!!! YIPPPEEEE!!!!!!!

Tip for today: Always have healthy prepared food choices in the house when hunger strikes!!!! Keep prepared veggies and fruits available in the fridge, or pre-measured snacks available in the pantry.

I am not sure how I did it, but I am down one pound. I was "bad" over the weekend. Too much family reunion food!!

I am so proud of you Gayle. I bet you are proud of your little one. She is so independent!!

Shelley: Back to the old grind huh... At least you get a break. Mine seems to be never ending.

Ramona: Keep your spirits up... I know this is a rough time for you!!

Wow Doni: You sure had your run of bad luck. But it sounds like things are turning around. Glad your back with us.

Cheryl: Okay now, you can do this. Just try to make better choices. You will be back 100% in no time. I have faith in you!

Tina: karaoke... I couldn't do it.. I am really bad standing in front of others.. can't even make any kind of speeches, I lose my voice out of fear.

Dee: I am so glad the surgeons are finally going to do something. I know this will still be a stressful time and my prayers are with you!! Keep your chin up!

GREAT JOB CAROL!!!!! You are doing wonderful!

Allison loves school!!! She hops right up out of bed in the morning, I was concerned since she stays home with me. Granted this is for only 2 hours a day, but I think she will be just fine making it through full days.

I can't post to everyone now, but will be back later. I did something to my back/neck/shoulder area...hurts like crap and Tylenol and Aleve seems to NOT be working. Mabe I should have a bottle of wine! :-)

Hi!
I put on a pair of shorts today that were snug a few weeks ago. They actually fit loose and are nice and comfy!! Yeah!! That feels great.

Gayle that sounds like a great way for kids to get in the routine of going to school. Wish we had something like that around here. Hope your back/neck/shoulder feels better soon.

Dee I hope your relief comes soon. I keep you in my prayers.

Carol way to go on the loss of a pound!!! That is great.

Shelley Does it seem like the summer just flew by to you? I can't believe its back to school already.

Congrats Doni on makiing your mini goal!! That is a real accomplishment!! Keep up the good work.

Cheryl I am glad you had a great trip. My hubbie and I always say it seems like we go on vacation to eat. Sometimes it seems that is all we do.

Ramona I can only imagine how hard it was to let your baby go again. Hopefully he will be back home again soon.

Love to all

Tina, great job on the shorts fitting looser! How many pounds left until you reach goal?

Hint for today: When you look in the mirror, forget the negative self talk and find one thing about you that your pleased with. Today I really looked at my face and am happy to say I don't seem to have as many wrinkles as most the people my age. Also, my hair turned out half-way decent today!

I know it is hard some times for everyone to come here with all the busy-ness of our lives. But, I always feel so much better when I take time to say hello and send good wishes to all my friends here.

I hope you are all having a wonderful day and just enjoying life.

Cheryl, great job on losing 6 of the 8 pounds!!! RAHHH!-RAHHHH!!!!! Shelley's determination and motivation swayed me over to the exercise board.

Ramona, thank you for being such a dear and checking in when you can.
How is Rick's eating plan going?

Did we lose all of our other Floozies??????

I stayed OP again today, I find counting calories works for me. I can have what I like, but smaller, healthier portions of it. I tried out the Martha Gooch brand reduced carb pasta tonight~~~not bad, just a different texture then regular pasta. I picked this brand over the whole wheat pasta's because of the extra fiber it contains.

TGIF!!! I am going to work a little late today because I am taking Patty over to her new high school to get her schedule. She is up to 30 on the waiting list at Becky's school, so she may get in yet. I really hate to buy too much at this school in case she gets into the other one.

I really feel good about the new school year ahead where I work. Everyone is so uplifted right now. I even feel closer to the principal, since I have been alone with her for part of the summer. I actually missed her when she was gone a few days this week!

Doni-I am glad you are back online.

Ramona-I know you are so busy! I hope work is exciting for you.

Cheryl-Try to stay partly OP when you go to the next seminar. You are doing great!

Gayle-Good for you for staying OP yesterday!

Vicki-We are going to start up a Red Hat club sometime this year at the school. We have about 5 ladies that are interested. I think it will be fun!

Sherry-I hope you are okay. It worries me when you are not around. You are normally so full of enthusiasm. Please let us know if you need anything.

Dee-I hope you are okay, too. I am so worried about my dear friend.

Debbie-How is everything going? Have you started back yet to work? Our cafe manager doesn't come back until Monday. The kids start the following week.

Tina-You are doing so awesome! I enjoy your company over at the exercise thread, too!

Jennelle-When do you go back to work? I know you are probably in workshops preparing for the upcoming year.

Carol-This was the last time that I will get a decent vacation, so I'll be in the same boat as you!

Exercise hint for the day:When you are sitting, standing, driving or whatever try to remember to hold your stomach in for a few seconds, then release. Repeat. Soon your stomach will get flatter, and you haven't worked all that hard at it!

Carol101

It sounds like we are slowing getting back to business on here, the businss of taking care of ourselves that is  We are watching what we eat (even if we are not 100% OP) and several of you have climbed on board with the exercising. I am so proud of you all!!!

I haven't been doing the best this week, but hope to do better today. I am going to an arthritis specialist today who hopefully can get me back on my feet without so much pain. Pain sure makes a person less inclined to want to stay OP. It is so depressing to hurt every time you walk. Oh well, chin up as they say!

WTG on everyone getting back to taking care of YOU!!! I can feel the vibes...we are all going to be OP at the same time real soon!!! Mark my words... I know we are all trying as hard as we can right now, and soon we will all be 100%!!!!!!!

HIP HIP HURRAY for those of you who are already there... you know who you are!!! GREAT JOB!!

Gayle: You are doing wonderful... staying OP and exercising!! Keep up the good work.

Tina: Isn't great to be able to get into those clothes and they are loose!!!

Cheryl: Good girl... losing that weight back... you will take off the rest and then some in no time.

Doni: Glad you are back. I am sure you are loving you new toys.

Shelley: I am so glad you are looking forward to the new school year, but I still need a vacation..

Sherry & Debbie: Hope all is well with you two. I miss you. Come back when you can and let us know how you are doing. I am here for you if you need me.

Jennelle: How are the workshops going? Are you back to work full time yet?

Ramona: Thinking of you and just wanted to say hello. Keeping busy sure does help sometimes does it.

Gotta run now, but love you all.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Resting and/or having lots of fun!
Me and the kids went to visit their great grandparents yesterday. That is always lots of fun.
My hubbie got his contractors license this week and he is starting his first house on his own. He is excited and ready to go.
Can you believe August is already here? July has just flew by. It will be Christmas before we know it.
Hope everyone has a great day and wonderful weekend.
