Hi... Thanks to an outstandingly kind invite to this forum (Thank You), I have mosied my way down here to see if it would be ok for me to join in the fun?
I'm 21 years old and I am currently at about 312lbs. I would like (LOVE) to weigh around 140. At this point I'd Love to even be in the low 200's or even break into the 100's which I probably haven't done since I was in the 5th or 6th grade. I've been around the weight loss scene my entire life and have tried every trick in the book to get if off from Richard Simmons stuff and Jenny Craig in the early '90's, all the way up a few weeks ago with Weight Watchers. A specialist just diagnosed me with PCOS about 3 weeks ago and has suggested the South Beach Diet -- or at least a diet eliminating white sugar, white flour, processed stuff, etc.
It's nice to see a PCOS forum, south beach diet forum AND a 100lb. forum all on the same website dealing with these issues. What an absolute relief and safe haven this is going to turn into for me -- not to mention a complete motivation in my life.
I am always interested in talking with people going through this same life test -- so if there's anyone who thinks we might get along, please feel free to write.
I was browsing around earlier and saw some of your posts and noticed then how Lovely your quote is -- I just wanted to let you know I think it is very pretty. Do you know who it is by or did you come up with it yourself?
Welcome, Tiffanie! This truly is a great group -- you'll find here lots of support and motivation. So have you started your plan? Why don't you tell us about it?
Welcome Tiffanie and feel free to jump into any of the discussions.
Dr.Phil's rapid start plan eliminates alot of processed food and I find it easy to manage. I don't know much about the south beach diet so I can't compare the 2.
I lurk more than I post but wanted to say hello I too have decided that I am tired of this constant drip, drip in my head about my weight. I am getting all my plumber's helpers out... healthy low fat food, motivation, dedication and the big, whammo plunger to the pounds...exercise! Good luck to you.
