I wish I had time to write a nice post, but I don't! I'll try to tomorrow, but I'll be checking the board
while I'm in Philadelphia, so it's all good!

I'm really excited!

You ladies are SO awesome!!! You all can reach your goals....we ARE, right now, this very moment!

Hey, if you're in to music, I suggest that you check out Paula Cole's "This Fire" album. It's been one of my favorite and most emotional albums ever. Womaninlove, I think you'll find the female empowerment inspiring...wish I could have recommended it to you in your previous relationship.

It's total Girl Power! Yes, it's the album with the "Dawson's Creek" song, but try to forget Dawson's and really listen to the message...I'm so not in to Dawson's and I can't believe they chose THAT song for some teenybopper show....

Anyway, gosh, guess I did post a decent size, but I really wanted to "talk" to each of you :(

I'm a good typist, so that's why!

Talk to you all SOON!!!

Hey!!

Well, I did my tape today. I was almost going to do it twice but then thought twice about it  I'm glad I did it because I was really low in steps today & now I got past my 10,000 steps. WOOHOO!! Hope everyone did good with their exercise today :)

Girlie, have a very safe trip to Philly. Hope you have fun. Check in with us whenever you can. When are you supposed to get back????

Have a great night everyone!

Guys, I'm gonna post this around the board....I found this at another thread....this is a PRO ANOREXIA website!!! No kidding! These girls post pics of themselves saying how fat they are...it's so terrible! I think we all should check this out! I've never seen anything like it!

Note: they give a disclaimer before you open it, saying that it's adult material, because it's controversial.......lemme know what you think!

Talk to you all soon! Debbie, I'll be back from Philly on the 26th, but I'll be posting from there too!

I tried to check out the site but I couldn't get to it through the link. I really feel for these girls and women. My cousin is a recovered anorexic. I have to tell you it's not easy seeing the way they eat. It is an illness and they need help to work through it. I just wish them all well and hope that they can get the help they need :(

OMG! I just checked the site out that you were talking about girlie. I can't belive it either. That is sickening. Did you check out the message boards? I read posts that told how to fast for days on end, best laxatives to use, how to purge correctly and even a post from a gal who was doing crystal meth!? How can this even be legal or moral (which I know it isn't). I also saw stats on the girls and most were 105 lbs or lower and had goals of 80-70 and even one gal wanted to weigh only 65 pounds! If there was a way to put an end to all this garbage I would....but this is the internet! I am just glad to know there are ladies like us who understand what we are going through and support us in the right way of doing things! Keep up the good work gals!

Hello everybody!! Another day of exercise for me today!! I did my other tape today. I think I like my first tape better than the second one. Of course, I do really need to strengthen my upper body. I have never been strong in the arms and shoulders. Anyway, as long as I do something everyday for my health I am doing well.

We are all successes!!! I love the motivation that all of you give me. It keeps me strong!!

Deb- In the power walk she uses 2 pound weighted gloves but you could use whatever kind of weights you have. I have the 1 pound weight gloves because I need to start very slow to strengthen my upper body. Can't wait til you get your tape so I can see what you think of it.

di4chat2- great job on that 3 miles. Sometimes we have to make ourselves get out there and just do it but it feels so good once we accomplish it, doesn't it?

Everyone have a great day!!

Hi There!!

Emmy what type of upper body exercises does she do??? Did you order the tape from her site? How long did it take for you to get it??? I can't wait to get it either :)

Diana great job on the 3 mile walk. You'll be surprised how used to it you get :) Keep up the great work.

Everyone is doing so awesome. You are a great group of motivators :) Keep moving everyone!!

Yes I'm still sick. :( Have a Dr. appointment this morning. So we will see what she says.

I do have good news. I went and weighed in last night (didn't stay for the meeting) and I lost 3 pounds this week! And I went under 200 pounds for the first time in years. My husband was shocked. I wasn't sure how I did. (Mental foggieness from being sick ) :lol My next goal is the 180's. Come on baby!

I am hoping to get back to the gym by Saturday. I'm just going to take it easy.

Speaking of this site. Last week I was looking on Yahoo Groups for a support site for WW Vegetarians (I am going that way) and I saw support email lists for these people. It was sickening. I mean they had quite a few members and I saw more than one list. God help them.
So sad. I just hope they have family and friends that are helping them get help.

Hi everyone!

Deb- in the power walk she does alot of arm and shoulder exercises while walking. My shoulders were tired and I was only using 1 pound weights. She does walk slower in this video than I would like but it is a good upper body workout. I did order from her site and it took about 5 days to get it.

Congrats Anne on the 3lbs down. That is great. It feels so good to see those scales moving in the right direction. Take care.

Have a great day everyone!!

The rest of you...I know you're doing great! I will talk to you all soon! Next time,
from Philadelphia...I hope my mom's gym has an elliptical!

I have a virus. Stupid bugger. We all know men are big babies when they are sick, well today I feel like a big baby. :) Its a beautiful day here. Its like 72 degrees out. I love Spring. :) As my Mom always said, "You stay home from school, you can't go out and play". I hate it when Moms say things like this. :lol

Girlie: Oh my. That website was disgusting!! Being a counselor, it absolutely sickens me to see soooo many people soooo sick and unable to see it as a problem, but as a "lifestyle". OHMYGOODNESS! Sad. On a brighter note...have a great time on your trip!!!!!

Anne: Good for you! Keep it up! :) (Hope you feel better too!!)

Diana: 3 miles! You go girl!

Deb, nakkeddaze, emmy: you guys are doing a great job! Thanks for adding your strength to the thread!

I went to the gym today and did 3100 reps on the elliptical!! :) I did my weight training too. I had a really tough time getting up this morning to go, but once I got there I was glad I made it and inspired to sweat!

Glad to see we are all on track! Have a wonderful evening everyone!! We are DOING it!!! :D

Got on the scale which I normally don't do til Monday, but found I had lost a pound! Yipee! Still drinking those 100 oz. of water. Floating down the street is more like it then walking...lol! Well good luck to you all. Keep up the good work and have a great day!

Happy Friday everyone!! I am feeling so much better since beginning my new lifestyle of eating and exercise. My moods are better and I feel like I can really do this!! By the way I have lost 11 pounds since March 26. My mom stopped by today and she said "My you are slimming down I can tell." It was just the boost I needed. It will take quite a long journey to get to goal but every pound I lose puts me one pound closer to goal. I have about 64 pounds to lose to get to my personal goal.

I am so thankful for this thread all of you cardio queens give me such great support and motivation!!

I am not very good at remembering all the names as the thread has grown but you all really inspire me.

Anyway, I hope you are all having a WONDERFUL Friday!
Take care everyone!!

You are doing great! Thats terrific news.

I'm a little better today. I worked 1/2 a day yesterday and I'm working today. Barely :) I'm shooting to go back to the gym Sunday. I don't see it happening tomorrow yet. I'm too tired.

PS - Any good remedies for sore raw noses? My nose is killing me from blowing it so much. :)

Girlie
04-20-2001, 05:30 PM
Well, I'm here! It's really nice weather here...I'm so tired though! I'm gonna take a nap. It's no fun being here w/o a friend. My mom works nights and so I'm here alone..my BF had an engagement in Gettysburg and won't be back until Sunday...but if all I do is lounge and watch TV, that's cool for me! I don't have cable at home! I plan to visit the workout facilities tonite and take a loooong, hot shower. It's funny because there is so much around me, being downtown, but I don't care! I just want to lounge all day!

My mom went grocery shopping before we got here, and it's cool, she stocked up on organic stuff and soy milk and things that I normally buy at home! Wonder how she knew! So I am surrounded with all "good stuff" and when I go out to eat, I'll just take it easy, drink water and work out.

I was so stressed out about my mom chastizing me...I'm sure you've all read my crazy posts...when we got here last night, she asked me if I'd LOST weight! Funny, huh!

Debbie: Great for breaking your plateau! That must feel SO good! Oh, and I LOVE your new energetic signature!

Anne: Can I suggest some 100% aloe vera for your nose? It sucks when you're sick , but I think it's good to keep it from getting dry and hurting even more..those mean old scratchy Kleenex (no matter HOW much lotion in them) aren't all that friendly to a poor nose!

Emmy: Yay for you! I'm really glad you are enjoying yourself, your new lifestyle, and this thread! We enjoy getting inspiration from you, too!

Womaninlove: Hey, Girl! Thanks for the welcome to Philly message! It was a rough ride...took a few wrong exits!!! Jim fell asleep and I just kept on driving east...and we ended up in Cincinatti, 100 mile off course! Ha! I'm not used to this stuff! He said east, I drove east!! And, somehow we ended up in New Jersey....long story...we got here at 2am. But it was fun...and we stopped at White Castle! Looks like you and I are in the same boat....missing our Pookies! I'm just gonna chill out and maybe rent a chick flick! And hey, great about the elliptical! It's a great workout, isn't it????

Diana: 100oz of water??? Wow, that's a lot, but really good for you....swim on, woman! (hee hee)...No, seriously, how do you do it? I have a huge cup at work and try to finish it by the end of the day, but it's only 44oz..it's hard to do! Do you have a water schedule or something?

Nakeddaze: Hey there! 4 days in a row is great! I think you should give yourself at least ONE day off! You deserve it! I tend to do it every day sometimes, but force myself to take a day off (I feel guilty when I do), but if I overload myself, I am more vulnerable to getting burned out...but if you can workout every day without that, then that's great too!

Hope I didn't miss anyone!!! I'm glad to see things going great for EVERYone!!!

Talk to you soon, and enjoy your weekends!!!

Hi Everyone!!

Sounds like everyone is doing great!! :)

Emmy-- I know exactly what you mean. I feel happier and I have tons more energy. Congrats on the 11lbs gone forever!!!

womaninlove-- MIL visiting is a good thing. We get along really well. I am looking forward to seeing her as it's been 2yrs since her last visit. The weather is supposed to be nice this coming week so we can take little one to the playground.

Girlie-- Sorry to hear you got lost. I'm happy though that you made it home safely and that your Mom was sweet enough to have all "good" food for you. That's great!!! Have a great visit and check in with us when you can. Girlie thanks about the signature. I think it says it all for me.

Anne-- I'm happy to hear that you are feeling better. Don't rush yourself to the gym. Take that extra day if you feel you need it. As far as the sore nose, you can put a little bit of vaseline & that should help.

Lisa-- you are doing great with your walking...keep it up girl!!!

Diana-- you are doing great with your exercise & the water. That's a lot of water. Keep on chugging. Congrats on the 1 lb loss. I know that made you feel good. Keep up the great work!!

Well girls, I am skipping the tape tonight. I have clocked so many steps & miles today that I am tired. I have been cleaning all day and doing all my laundry so I will have the weekend free. I am still folding & putting away laundry but I wanted to pop in & let you all know I am still breathing, barely... Are you ready for this?? I have clocked 17,188 steps so far today & 5.42 miles and I'm still not done. I think tonight I may have to take 2 advil because my right calf is feeling all the walking.

Hope you all have a great night!!
Talk to you later

WOW!! Deb that is ALOT of walking!! Good for you. I need to wear my pedometer all day and see how many steps I take. I bet you are tired. I have a sportline pedometer, but it seems I always have to reset it. Maybe I need to reread the instructions again.

Glad to hear you get along with your in laws Deb. That certainly makes life easier.

I hope everyone has a great weekend!! Take care.

Hi everybody...

Well, I just dropped off my man to meet the guys. I'm feeling bummed! I rented some chick flicks and plan on a thorough spring cleaning this weekend! I went to the gym today and increased my routine a bit. After my next workout I'm supposed to meet with my trainer again for a program update. I'm kind of excited about it...I've come pretty far these past three weeks at the gym! :D

Sounds like everyone is doing great. I agree that it is getting tricky remembering everybody, but I think we are all a great bunch of ladies and no one seems to mind if they are not mentioned individually, right? :)
I think everyone here is so awesome! I'm so glad we've all found each other in 3FC cyberland! :spin:

Have a wonderful weekend all!

Girlie I really don't have a schedule for drinking my water. I have an insulated mug which holds about 34 oz. So I just know that I need to drink at least 3 of those a day. I keep my jugs of water in the frig also, my water has to be very cold or I can't drink it. I drink while I exercise and drink while I eat. So I eventually get all 100 oz in or close to it. I take my mug everywhere too so when I am driving I can drink it too. Gives me a reason not to order a soda, I already have something to drink! I use to drink at least 3-4 cans of diet soda a day.....NO MORE! If I drink one I am drinking alot now! I am a big milk fan too. But now I drink 1% not 2%. Can't get into that skim milk unless its for cooking. Never tried the soy??? I guess 1% is better then nothing. Well thats my story!
Diana :)

Girlie
04-21-2001, 12:18 PM
Womaninlove: How was your Friday night? What chick flicks did you rent? I rented one called "Don't let me die on a Sunday", real weirdo movie. French I have a favorite French actress named Elodie Bouchez, so I just saw it 'cuz she's in it. It was weird!

Diana:
Thanks for the info! I have a 44oz at work, and it just seems so enormous! Maybe I should stick with something around 34oz so I can just subliminally get the water in without knowing it's really this huge conspiracy for me to drink it all...

Oh, soy milk is pretty thick, if that's what you like in the milk...the FF soy milk may be the type that's around the same thickness of 1%. It's funny, I used to like whole and hated skim, then I loved skim and nothing else...now that my body hates dairy, I'm stuck with soy, and my fav is the consistency of whole. If you're considering trying soy, I suggest the FF stuff in cartons, found on the shelf (not in fridge). You know, I've also seen regular fat free milk on the shelves, that didn't specify if it's skim or not, but I've had it and it "feels" like 1 or 2%.

Anyway, gonna go workout in a bit here! Today I'm meeting the friend I haven't seen for 13 years!

Girlie: Hi! Sounds like you are having a good time! I rented "What Lies Beneath", "Remember the Titans" and "Dr T & the Women"...haven't watched anything yet because as I was starting laundry I locked myself out of my apartment!!! I had to wait 2 1/2 hours for maintanence to respond. I am just so happy to be back inside, as it is cold and raining today. Enjoy your time with your old pal!! That's great!

I didn't exercise today, but if 2 hours of pacing waiting to get back in my apartment counts, then I guess I did a little! :)

Happy Saturday everyone!
