SATURDAY: today is Sunny Thoughts Saturday. What funny or sunny thoughts do you have to share with us?
Since it is Saturday, what better way then to think about this sunny thought: If each one of us lost the safe 2 lbs a week, that is 96 lbs of fat gone per person. Take into account that most of you have less than 50 lbs to lose and almost everyone but I would be at goal by the end of the year. Let's strive hard to make that a fact!
Everyone have a super Saturday and weekend.

Just a short post - I am still feeling under the weather with this sore throat - it hurts like **** and I feel too weak to workout. So no exercise still for me. :( But I am still hanging in with the first week of Atkins, and the water is going down well.
My Sunny Thought for the Day is life has never looked better. DH is in the Landmark Forum this week :cb: and has had some amazing revelations about himself. Our marriage took 2 giant leaps forward when I completed the first course, then another giant leap after the second. I already see extraordinary growth, communication, and possibilities for us after just his first day! :D
I am even more inspired that he and I will stick to our commitment to regain our health, not only for ourselves, but for each other and our daughter as well!
Didn't get to report in yesterday but I weighed in at 229! Now that is still 2lbs up from my lowest weight since this quarter's challenge began but it is 7.5 lbs down since I started Atkins at the beginning of the week! :cheer: :cheer:
Welcome Bonnie, Heather, and Christine! If you already received my bio, please ignore my rantings. :^: I'm Cathy. I am 47, married 2nd time around for 4 years, with a daughter in college and a 13 year old at home. I was a size 7 in my 20's and worked my way through college as a professional belly dancer. After my first was born I gained 70 lbs and due to yo-yo dieting put my metabolism to sleep and piled on 30 more lbs over the past 22 years! Thank goodness I found this group.
Scuzin' - 7 months on the same plateau??? You are truly an example of commitment. Thank you for sharing that with us. :thanks:
Jayme - Think of Scuzin' everytime you want to get down on yourself. As long as you have a breath in your body, as long as you continue to recommit yourself to the present and the future, as long as you can leave the past in the past, there is hope and you will get where you want to be!
Have a great weekend everyone!

SUNDAY: Today is Silly Poll Sunday and our poll this week: Which one person truly inspires you and why?
Cathy: Boy, you must have been lonely here all by yourself yesterday! Congratulations on weight loss too!!!!!!
I would say my husband inbspires me to keep doing what I am doing. he is super supportive of what I am doing, never tells me to shut up when I go on and on about weight loss, but most important, LOVED ME WHEN I WAS OVER 400 LBS AND THOUGHT ME BEAUTIFUL AND SEXY THEN!
Gonna go read the rest of my book before Jack gets up.
Hugs to all of you and have a great day.

Hey! Sounds like had a full weekend so far!! Mine was ok.. My hubby didn't act like an a**hole, so it made the day go ok! I got everything cleaned but I'm pretty pissed off because now I have to clean the whole house over again after the beach trip tomorrow!! This is the laziest bunch of family members in the world! No one in the house helps! My hubby always say if you want about 5 minutes I will help you... but I did that ONE time... and it never happened! So I won't make that mistake again! The only rooms that were still a mess were our room and our bathroom! But no one went in there... my sister called herself helping... which she did ALOT! But that made my room look horrible! I spent most of the day/night cooking and cleaning. But at about 7 or 8 p.m. they finished barbq'ing and I relaxed. They are really kool people! We all went to the beach yesterday... of course I didn't get to have any fun!! I was watching the baby most of the time... then after that I was tired and I wanted to just lay down and take a nap... but why did it start raining and then pouring!! So we had to go! WHY ME?? So it got sunny again at about 5 so I rushed to go to the pool by myself... I get there ready to take a nap because I figure no one else would be there... and there wasnt at first... and then these 2 guys decided to come over there.. sooo no sleep. I can't sleep while in the middle of no where with 2 dudes! Then... I said forget it and was going to get in the water... IT STARTED RAINING AGAIN!! But oh well as far as today goes… I told my sister that we'll just have to go places that's free, or that she can spend her own money on things that she wants! I don’t have any extra money unless I go on one of my taking back stuff rampages! Does anyone else around here do that?? I don't want her to leave!! If I could... I'd adopt her and let her go to college out here!! But my parents want her back. My mom is having that surgery for her stomach.. lap-band.. or whatever it is! I hope it goes good! Well I'm back up to 142! But oh well... I lost 1 inch from my waist and 1 inch from my hips since July 2nd, so I'll take that then! I didnt measure my thighs and stuff last time... that's where I want to lose the most! My hubby tried to make me feel better telling me... well muscle weighs more than fat! But I somehow don't believe that no matter how much someone tells me that! I've read different articles... all I know for a fact is that muscle takes up less space.... but no one has proven to me yet that it weighs more. I think that is just a cop out to make people feel better... maybe it's just me! But it pissed me off a little because I was 1 lb behind my sister.. she was 139.. now she is 135. I cant catch up now! I bought me some stacker 2's but they make me sick to my stomach of course.... I took them 2 days ago.. and they still make me sick.. But oh well. I will take them.. I don't have anything else! I've been eating terrible. Either not eating at all, and then eating a big meal at night... or just eating all day.. I havent really journaled in a couple of days. I've been writing down stuff today of what I can remember... but I'm slacking off big time! I ate two burgers for the barbq.. but I added my own wheat buns, fat free mayo, cheese, etc. I've been craving sweets and chocolate.. that is my problem.. I can't shake it!! I dont know what to do anymore.... I just hope we have enough money next week, because I 'm going to order 2 months supply of those adipex. My hubby doesnt even know I take them.. he would have a fit. Anyways Today... we are going to go somewhere! I don't know where yet... It isnt supposed to rain, but it looks like it is! I have to go exercise before it is too late! I will talk with yaw’l later! Love Jay~~

Hi all,
Been MIA for a few days - nige has been busy on the computer.
Guess what - I got the job!!   I was so suprised when they told me - because they were interviewing 5 other people, so i didn't think I had much of a chance. The lady who i will be working for is REALLY nice and supportive, she phoned me up to ask if there is anything she could do to make my return to work easier - she knows all about my health problems and is really supportive - I instantly liked her! She has even left it up to me as to when I want to start! I am signed off for 2 weeks and hope to start after that - it is only a temp job, but for a minimum of 12 weeks, so it will be great to have some money coming in at last! I thank God for giving me this chance.
I've gone off plan somewhat since Friday - not too badly, but I've had a couple of high fat meals - which immediately gave me a craving for fat which has made getting back on plan harder. But I don't think I've done TOO much damage - nothing getting straight back on plan won't sort out! So I'm back on track today - fat craving or not!
Take care
Love Amanda xx

MONDAY: Today is Mission Monday and our mission this week involves goals and expectations. Everyone should be making themselves goals to work for and having intelligent expectations. We can neither expect too much of ourselves nor too little. Remember that the closer to goal you are, the less you are going to lose and the harder it gets. Don't discount the fact that you menstrual cycle and other factors make weight go up and down a lot so stay off the scales and weigh yourself only once a week. Above all, do it the healthy way. There are many programs that are good and you can lose weight properly.
Amanda: I am so glad you got the job! Congratulations!
Jaymi: Honey, take it from an idiot who knows, there are NO over the counter drugs that work, I have tried them all. They CAN ruin your health though and make it impossible to continue losing weight because of what they can do to the body. I took one a few years ago and I now have a permanent heart arrythmia that may eventually need a pacemaker. I know it is frustrating not to be able to lose those last few lbs, but why risk your health that way?
Talk to you later girls.
Faye :)

Morning Ladies
Sounds like everyone had a pretty good weekend. I had a great camping trip, the fighting was good and I didn't get hurt (more than a few bruises, which is normal). I did eat like a pig, but it's necessary to sustain the amount of exercise we do in extreme heat (well, extreme for Maine....I think it was 89 or 90 and very humid). So it's back to the normal eating again.
Susan, you made my day when you said you were at the same plateau for 7 months! I know it's not good news for you, but it made me feel like I'm not alone or a freak.....I've been hovering between 203 and 210 since March!! And like you, I'm so sick of it.....gotta just get this done!
Amanda--CONGRATULATIONS on your new job!! :cheer: :dancer: :dancer: I'm so happy for you.........you deserve it.
MsCat--Congrats on your pounds down!
Heather--your puppy sounds cute.
As for Sunday's poll...........everyone here inspires me! I see people doing what seems impossible everyday. One step at a time.
I thought about what Faye said that if we all started NOW to keep to 2 pounds a week, we would be at our goals by the end of the year. It gave me a little hope.....I think a bit of rededication is in order, at least for me. Can't be good for a week, and then take a week off and expect to lose. I'm thinking about putting the scale away until after my vacation in August. Pennsic is a 10 day long fighting extravaganza and if I don't go crazy with my eating, it's easy to lose a good 5 to 10 pounds there. You have to walk MILES everyday to get from your camp to where everything is going on. Plus all the daytime activities are, well, ACTIVE! I really want to finish this journey....someday. Not so I can "go back" to eating the way I used to, just so I can say I did it, and so I can quit feeling so old.
Well, didn't mean to ramble so much. I gotta go unpack from the weekend.
Everyone have a great day.
Julie

Hi there girlies,
Well I managed to get back on track yesterday and got 3 points, which I'm pleased with. I only had 2 days off track - and then it was only my evening meal, but I felt like i was really losing the plot and ruining everything! So, I'm glad I nipped it all in the bud - although i haven't exercised since Wednesday :o so I'm going to force myself onto that bike today!
Thanks to you all for the congratulations about the job! I've been planning some healthy packed lunches to take. I usually find I diet really well when I am working - the routine helps me. I take a healthy packed lunch and lots of fruit which keeps me going - I'll also be out and about visiting families all day so my general activity will increase. The only thing that I find harder is my exercise sessions - I usually feel too tired to exercise after i get in - but I'm going to make it a habit as soon as I start - probably exercise as soon as i get in or go straight to the gym (I'm planning to rejoin when i get my first pay!)
WELCOME CHRISTINE - I forgot to say that yesterday! This group is fun and i'm sure you'll fit right in!
Take care

Morning Ladies - Sounds like everyone had a good weekend, ya know I did...
Amanda - CONGRATS on the job Girl !!! :cb: :cp:
Jaymi - I agree with Cat, the lime green has got to go, I almost had am immediate headache... :joker: I couldnt read your post but from what I gathered you take some diet pills? I agree with Faye, stay off of them, you dont need them and they could mess with your health :grouphug:
Heather - Very cute puppy - I know how hard it is to train a puppy when you first get them so good luck !! :D
Julie - I am with you, I think I need some "re-dedication" too...although I have been doing somewhat well, I have been going off program for 2-3 meals per week and that is not like me, that is now how I lost the 33 pounds from last quarter...so I need to re-kick my butt into gear... WE CAN DO IT !!! :drill:
I had a 4 pointer on Saturday and a no pointer on Sunday so I figure they cancel each other out, ha ha ha ( I guess not ) :chin:

Carri: I don't know what kind of work experience you have, but I saw that my old law firm is hirering a legal secretary for the Indy office, which is downtown. BandD has a lot of perks and the Indy office has a lot of great people. Anyway, if you are ever interested their website is www.bakeranddaniels.com. I worked in their South Bend office for 6 years. I know you are pretty fed up with whatever job you are doing right now.
Julie: Glad you had fun. Does the family go or just you by yourself?
It is pretty boring here today. I am finishing up a book that isn't that great. I did shampoo the carpet in the dining room today and tomorrow I am going to do the lving room. I left that for tomorrow since it involves more furniture moving than anything else. I have to wait until next week to start on my spring cleaning project as I need some big rubbermaid storage containers and such to do the job properly. No sense in just moving from one place to the other. I am finally going to tackle all those too big clothes and get rid of them, part of them are going to my older sister. I have to tell you, I felt so incredibly sorry for her when we went to the ballgame on the 4th. She was too large for the seat and I know it pinched the whole time. I fit into mine fine, which is great news, but I know oh so well what she had to have been going through. It is torture to sit in seats that are too small for you.
Hope everyone is having a great day!

Class started today and it would have been great if I were there on time! I saw it say noon on the computer and it went and changed times on me without an update. Oh well. I've been doing pretty well. Had a lot of food last night but am recovering today and should be fine for the rest of the week. I'm just DIEING to see the 170's. Ok... short post today... I'll try to catch up quickly
Faye- you are right.. these stupid stacker 2's dont' work anyway.... Just trying to convince myself that I am doing all that I can... but its not helping!!
Cat90- it's funny I count my minutes.. so I probably got confused... I'm feeling that dazed and confused feeling as we speak... I think I got the time right this time. What does chromium do? Havent heard of it...as a diet drug that is!
Heather- cute pup!!
Amanda- Congrats on your job!
Scuzin- I know how you feel... sorry! But you will get there... just keep pushing... we both will get there!
Mscat- your words are always so unique and helpful... thanks! :)
I know I missed a couple.. but I"M TIRED!!
Today.. I totally sucked... BAD!!!! I mean I ate 2 burgers, some fries, some "real" soda... and who knows what else! I did exercise today 90 minutes Denise Austin, but it wasnt enough for all of that crap. We went to the zoo today... well what you could call more of a farm... But they had all kinds of animals.. I think I might download one of those pictures of the peacocks. Anyways I hope all of that walking and sweating helped... I don't know what is wrong with me... but something is! I'ts not my TOM yet... that isnt coming until next Wednesday or so... and I usually don't get PMS until a couple of days. I"m cranky and upset, and tired... so everyone forgive me! I don't have many goals for tomorrow except... try to get myself back on track! Those stacker 2 pills don't work!!! Anyways no time to get personal, but hopefully tomorrow..
Oh, Scuzin... and everyone else... I know you all are tired of me whining about losing weight... but it's not really about the weight... Before when I didnt lose.... I could say.."I"m doing the best that I can..." But now I'm not! I'm back to not having any control! The sweets are over powering my body... seriously like a drug! I don't want to go back there! I need to figure out what's going on! I havent found anything else that works except for Adipex.. but I can't take that forever.. and This month without them has been ****!! I'm not trying or doing the best that I can.. exercising 50 million minutes will not matter if I'm eating all of the wrong foods. Just bear with me (like I always say!)
Anyways gotta go now.. I"m toooo tired!

Hi
Still going ok. Exercise is my next big challenge. I think at the beginning of nest week I'll take clothes with me and work out after class unless I get my bike fixed and can ride it to class then I will count that as a work out as long as I still lose.
Faye - sorry about the headache :( Hope you fell better soon

Hi Ladies
Jaymi, Chromium is supposed to help with sugar cravings ;) I know some people say it helps but I :dunno: and i'm sure its a damn sight better for you than those stacker 2's which are just aspirin, caffeine and something else I think  its cheap too  so it might help if you are craving lots of sweet stuff ;)
Carri, Hamburgers, Soda and Fries? I thought you was going to say "Oh My" for a minute
I'm tired but I still need to do some exercise  not done any since last wednesday! :yikes: well, apart from the greenhouse building  i'm wondering if the legs will hold up to a bike ride outdoors in the sun :sunny:

Hi all,
I am back on track and got 4 points yesterday, and 4 today - yay! I went clothes shopping today to buy some clothes for my new job - got lots of great stuff which was good as sometimes i go and come back with nothing!
JAYMI - I understand what you are saying about losing control - that is how I was beginning to feel after this weekend. I find losing control of my diet and exercise also messes with my mood and i begin to feel down :( I know how hard it is to get the control back, but you need to be strong! Do you realise that the symptoms you are displaying could be due to the sugar you are consuming? Sugar is great for a quick high, but then you slump and get tired, headachy and irritable. The best thing for you is really to cut out the junk - not easy I know! How about doing what Susan did and have a bit of a detox? Well done on keeping up the exercise through your rough patch - thats more than i usually do!
SUSAN - You are doing great - you will see the 170's very soon!
FAYE - Hope the allergies are better. great target tuesday - after my dodgy weekend, I need renewing!
JULIE - How is your no carbs, no dairy, no fruit plan going? Have you stepped on the dreaded scales yet? I think you've probably got the right idea when you say you'll leave them alone for a bit!
CAT - i think fixing your greenhouse counts as a workout - hey, if i manage to set foot outside the front door I call it a workout!
CARRI - Step away from the fair food! Oh okay then - but i want all 4 point days until then! ;)
Everyone else - have a good evening.

Ok everyone, if yaw’l don’t like my hot pink.. Then too bad!!!! :lol3: :joker: Anyways!! (you all better laugh!) Ahem,
Faye- Hope you feel better!
Carri- Did you say FAIR FOOD!! Yeah right! I barely remember what I ate today! But you said wish you luck so… :goodluck: :crossed:
Heather- Sorry you feel bad! Hope you feel better!
Amanda- Good advice… but how da heck am I posed to detox!! When I try to say “I can’t have that!” it just makes things harder on me! I’ll get back on plan though.. I hope this is pms…. That could make me crave all of this stuff!
Susan- Good luck with your exercising… that sounds like a great plan!! :crossed:
Cat- will have to try that chronium!
Julie- Congrats on your pts!
Me= No points for today! Or yesterday! I totally suck!!! :(
Today was a rough one… I’m not sure if it’s me that’s being grouchy or not… but me and my sister have been fighting like cats and dogs. Then my hubby wants to come in and tell me something smart and I went off on him too! I don’t get it… If I ask, what do you want for lunch… quesadillas or bar-b-q then why can’t I get an answer! He gotta make things difficult and say which ever one yaw’l don’t eat.. And it doesn’t matter…. My sister on the other hand… I ask her a simple question like… is there a car behind me.. And she get’s an attitude like I’m bothering her! Maybe it’s just me.. My TOM is next week, maybe I have PMS, but I hate when people act dumb! Anyways sorry about that! I didn’t get to exercise today… I ate about 3 tacos from Taco bell, and something else (that I can’t remember) and a dipped cone from Mcdonalds… (that’s when I got pissed off) I figured a dipped cone is better than a double cheeseburger and fries!! I’m still at 142 so that pack of Skittles I had last night hasn’t settled in yet! OH well, my clock is set to 5:30 am.. I gotta get my exercise in!!! Today I didn’t hear my alarm go off at all!! I got my library card today.. But my daughter was acting bad though… I thought about going there to email you all because they have high speed internet.. But if she cuts up like that…. Maybe not!! Anyways the beach, the mall, and the family dollar, and walking around the strand will be in the plans for tomorrow. Wanted to go to Ripley’s aquarium, but no money! Wanted to take her to TX roadhouse for chicken strips.. But no money… so hopefully we can make it through her last day here without fighting. Well I gotta go now.. Talk with you all tomorrow!

WEDNESDAY: Today is Wednesday's Woes so gripe away gals!
Jaymi: I went back and reread a lot of your posts and I think I see a big part of your weight loss problem and that is takeout or fast food. If you want to lose, YOU ARE GOING TO HAVE TO GIVE UP FAST FOOD CRAP.

Morning Ladies,
Let's see.......I think I got one point yesterday. Water. I didn't exercise and I kinda lost control on the skinny cows (sounds kinky, huh  ) This whole summer thing is just kicking my butt. I don't have a routine and it shows. I keep thinking that when school starts, things will get better. Some days, like yesterday, I just end up staying on the computer all day.
Amanda--Way To Go with those 4 point days!!! I did the no-carb thing for a week, like the South Beach diet says to in order to "jump start" the loss. But that is for people who haven't been eating healthy for a year already. It's mainly to detox the system from white sugar, flour, etc etc. But I haven't eaten like that in ages. I basically already follow the program on my own, except for the no fruit. I do feel better without the fruit, I could tell I had sugar withdrawl from the nasty 2 day headache I got that week. I'm still drinking milk in my coffee, but it's the "lactaid" brand which is easier for me to digest. Unfortunately, I've been eating take-out and pizza and junk just often enough for me to stay exactly where I've been for months. Sigh. One day at a time. I'll bet it felt great to get some new clothes!
Jaymie--Faye is right about the fast food in your posts. I know when my kids were the ages yours are, and I stayed home with them.....I used ANY excuse to get the **** out of the house. I very often went shopping, mainly for fabric and craft supplies because I could justify that I was "making" something so it wasn't really spending money. But almost every time I went out I ended up at McDonald's to appease the kids. You said you got a library card....Good for you! Find places you can go to get out but that don't require food. Even the beach means you gotta bring snacks, right? But you can't eat in the library.
Faye and Heather....hope you're feeling better today.
Cat90--I tried the chromium for sugar cravings and it didn't do squat for me.
Susan--Good luck with the exercise. I know when I was in college was when I got the most exercise because I had to walk everywhere. My dorm (and later apartment) was always on the opposite side of campus to my classes. Of course, when you're a theater major, you end up sleeping in your classrooms on a regular basis :D
Well, gotta get to aerobics now. Everyone have a super day!

Morning Everyone  I had another 4 pointer yesterday!!! I was feeling pretty good about myself too and then I stepped on the scale this morning and it showed me up like 1 pound, must be all the salt I had yesterday, will try and flush myself out today :flow2:
Heather - Feeling any better today? Hope so ... :twirly:
Jamie - Dont dispair with your oink fest :ink: ha ha....it will get better
Julie - It is hard to diet when you do not have a regular routine, but I know you can make it happen...199 is not too far away ... :goodvibes :crossed:
I also tried the Chromium and it didnt do much for me either , side note.. :)
Faye - Feeling any better today??? :spin:

Hey ladies!
I'm holding pretty steady with 3 point days. Althoguh after yesterday I think I need to be eating a little bit more than I am. My class is right at lunch time so I end up not having it till after 3 sometimes and by that time I can only eat a small dinner late and anyway not getting enough food. I'll have to set aside a time fore lunch or start taking it to campus with me.
I'll let you know tomorrow what my weigh in is. I'm of camping tomorrow afternoon! With friends this time not family. Check in later!

Hi Ladies
Get Well Soon Heather :)
Jaymi, so you have got two 'Nays' about the chromium but as its only a couple of bucks a bottle it might be worth a try  if I was you I'd try that before I'd buy another bottle of Stacker 2's  it MIGHT work for you, you never know ;) I think the idea is to take one when you're craving something sweet its supposed to take the edge off although i've never tried that  I have a bottle here so i'll do an experiment the next time I want to devour a box of cookies i'll pop a chromium tab and let you know if it stops me or not
Yesterday I did go out on my bike :jig: and it was great! I rode about 6 miles :) and it did'nt really feel like exercise at all :dunno: the wind blowing through my hair :D the sun beating down on my arms and legs :sunny: much better than standing in front of my tv on my :tread:  I'm going out again today :) might ride to the beach that will be nice

Morning Ladies,
4 points yesterday! Woo hoo...... Got on the scale this morning, it said 201...So I thought "that can't be right, but I hope it is"....got on it again and it said 208. GRRRRRRRR..........neither one of those is correct, I'm sure. I think the humidity in the house is affecting the electronics or something. Another reason to just not get on the darn thing.
Awful quiet right now...........
Cathy--that bike ride to the beach sounds heavenly.
Susan--congrats on the points. If you bring food with you to class, bring protein, or something that won't cause cravings later like low-sugar veggies.
Faye-hope you're feeling better today. Congrats on the bone thing! :D

3 points for me yesterday...no WATP dvd yesterday like I did Mon and Tues, I think I needed a break, or I am getting bored with it, who knows...I try to do it before my dh gets home but cant quite make it and I hate to do it in front of him - some of the moves just make you look stupid
Julie - Sounds like you need to invest in some new scales...my old ones were doing that before I finally bought a pair of Tanita ones ( I did have to take it back once and get another pair but other than that no problem ) - I hear that the Tanita brand are some of the most reliable on the market...I have been happy so far :)
Faye - Glad to hear that your headache is getting better, I still say alot has to do with our humidity, I thought it sounded like we were going to be getting a break from it soon, keep fingers crossed
Cathy - I often wish I had a bike to ride for exercise, but even if I did I have no where ( well that I would consider safe to ride ) to ride it, alot of traffic in my area and I am kind of clumsy on a bike, but it must be great being able to ride to the beach, have fun !!
Susan, Amanda, Jaymi, Heather, Nefertiti, MSCat, and everyone have a good one today...

Hi!
I got 4 points yesterday! Can you believe that it is PMS time AGAIN - it only seems like yesterday that I had it! It's not too bad at the moment but I think I have water retention as my knees and knuckles are sore! I've been good on the diet and exercise since Sunday which normally would shift the extra 2lb I put on over the weekend - but it's just refusing to budge, which makes me think it's water. Oh well - I'm going to keep up the exercise and TRY to stay on track as much as I can!
I had a terrible stomach pain today - I had it once before a few weeks ago and it is really scary. It comes on out of nowhere and is not like any pain I've had before - it's not crampy or sharp, but instead my whole stomach feels like it is on fire and i writhe around in agony. I'm not explaining it well, but it's not indegestion or heartburn which I know all about. I wondered if it could be gas, but I'm not too sure it is. It lasts about 5 full minutes and i go deathly pale and sweaty because of the pain - it is horrible! Does it sound like anything you know?
FAYE - Glad you are shaping up well! How are the new clothes - have you worn any yet? I'm trying to save mine for my first week at work as you can't beat that feel of totally new clothes - but I'm tempted to wear them now as they are so nice!
JULIE - Bad news about the scales! It does sound like you might need a new pair as yours don't know whether they are coming or going!
SUSAN - Enjoy your camping trip! Well done on sticking to your plan.
CARRI - I laughed when you said that you don't like to do your exercise tape in front of your partner as some of the moves make you look stupid! The things we do to get in shape! I agree, we need to keep a little mystery in our relationships! ;)
CAT - Ok I'm really jealous now! Your bike ride sounds absolute heaven - make the most of the nice weather and get out there regularly. Like you say, it's better than going nowhere on a treadmill! I wouldn't dream of cycling here - too much pollution and traffic, but hopefully if we move to Ireland :crossed: it will be different. Your experience has made me pine for Ireland again :stress: :stress:
HEATHER - hope you are feeling better.
JAYMI - How's it going sweetie? :grouphug: I keep forgetting to mention that I used to have that Isaiah quote as my signature - it is such a great Bible quote isn't it?
Everyone else - have a good day!

Amanda - I have an odd pain like that, and it is hard to describe, it hurts really bad but only lasts for about 5-10 mins, doesn't come around that often, and unfortunately I have been told that it is most likely my gall bladder and will probably have to be removed at some point...

Scuzin: It does sound like u might need to start packing a lunch and eating before hand.
Cat: OH that sounds like so much fun I haven't ridden a bike in a long time.
Faye: You must really be working out hard glad to hear headaches are going away..
Julie: I know what ur saying bout those scales I got on it a few days ago it said 150 and then i got back on it like two minutes later it said 152 so who know lol.....

Hi Ladies,
WTG Susan :bravo: :cp: :balloons:
No Jaymi :?: Wassup wi' that :?:
I rode to the beach yesterday but I was a bit uncomfortable on that trail cuz I did'nt pass one other cyclist  and its not as bright on that side because there are more trees and brush and for some reason I kept looking around every time I heard a twig snap and looking for Cougars   once I got to the road and could see the ocean I felt OK and coasted down to the beach :D the tide was in but the view was fabulous. Coming back was HARD :stress: cuz it was uphill  but once I got back on the trail I flew down it  I think i'll go the other way today ;)
Amanda: Sounds more like an ulcer to me. I had gall bladder trouble and it usually manifests itself after eating , the pain is usually up under your right breast area or through your back and is a sharp pain like a knife stab. Sort of feels like when you haven't sat in a chair correctly or something. The ulcer is food related also and is a real burning pain in your stomach area, but not down in the intestines area like an irritated bowel and eating usually makes it feel better instead of worse. Irritated bowel is just that and usually manifests itself as cramping like having diahrrea and can be that way or constipation or even back and forth. With gall bladder (my stones were in the duct and was backing bile up) anyway, the first pains may not last long and be just irritating, the next attack lasts longer and hurts more and so on until you have an attack that won't go away. When I went to the hospital for mine, I had trouble for over a year and everytime the ER doc said it was because I was too fat. After being in pain 2 straight days and having driven all over town one night with my poor daughter in the van sleeping because I was in so much pain I couldn't sleep, (dh was in Philidelphia on a business trip) I went to the ER and the first thing the nurse asked me was about gall bladder. I had emergency surgery and could have died! That is why I started refusing to go to the doctor.
Susan: Super job girl!!!!!!!
Well, this is not getting anything done so need to beat feet!

Ok so guess what?? I just ran home for lunch and my stupid a$$ air conditioner is not working AGAIN!! I just spent all that money in May to have the thing fixed and now it is broke again...it was 82 degrees in the house at lunch so I cannot imagine how hot it is going to be tonight ( obviously no exercise tonight unless I want to faint from the heat ), the guy cannot come until tomorrow and today and tonight are supposed to be one of the hottest and most humid days we have had....I had to come on here and complain as I had no where else to go ( dh is sick of hearing it because he is dealing with it too ) , I dont even have alot of money to fix it again....ughhhhhh !!!!
Okay enough about my life ...
Susan - CONGRATS on the loss and not being in the "obese" bmi level anymore!!! Now you are on your way to the 170's!! yeah !!! :)
Faye - You are right, with the burning feeling it might be an ulcer...I worry about this gall bladder thing ( and you are right it is after I eat, usually something fatty ) , I usually only have it about once every three months or so...
Everyone stay cool, and think about me ( and Cat, ha ) not being cool....I know, I know there are worse things I could be dealing with ( knock on wood ) but I am a generation X brat ...

Hey Chickies - Life is grand! DH and I have experienced several miracles since he finished his Landmark Forum. The latest is he registered to volunteer at the center and suggested I register too! This is a man who never volunteers to do anything and got mad when I tried to volunteer after I took my course! I wish everyone I know could have this education - please pm me if you would like more info - it is life altering!
In addition I have been on plan for 10 days in a row! :cb: And I have exercised 3 times this week already. Won't know what the scale says until tomorrow but I have lost 3 inches since last week's measurements! :smug:
Jayme - still not preachin' ;) but that fast food has got to go! ;) It was pulling me down until I read High Voltage's book. Try to at least skip the fries, order the diet pop if you must, and throw away the bun! I haven't eaten buns for months and I can assure you it makes a difference. Order the dollar menu items - it doesn't hurt so much to throw away the buns. Also, I believe the Landmark Forum would make a difference in your life - you will be able to let go of beating up yourself all the time and blaming others for the stuff that happens.
Susan - Congratulations on your loss! :cheer: You give me hope - My goal also is to get out of BMI Obesity land! You Go Girl!
Faye - Hope you are feeling better soon!
Julie - You are awesome with your 4-pointer. Can I be like you so I can grow "down"?

Yesterday was fun.. my hubby tells me I'm getting too dark! Now whadya think about that!?! I finally found the library, but I have yet to read a book! I can't wait... I havent read in a long time! Anyways I need to join in the challenge.. I have been doing HORRIBLE!! I drank 2 real sodas, ate a burger, and two fries, and some skittles! I did exercise for an hour today, but I need to exercise again!!! I bought some sugar free chocolate so that maybe will help with my cravings... I am sooo tired! I have so much to do. I need to finish washing clothes, folding them and etc. I need to wash dishes , take a shower, bathe the kids, clean the living room... etc. I've cleaned up earlier.... but hey it doesnt stay that way!
Faye- Yes, Fast food is my downfall…. Especially when I’m driving…. I havent been able to eat my TV dinners either like I used too. Maybe now I can that my lil sis is gone…. I can cook smaller meals or something.. Plus I won’t be out traveling as much!!!
Julie- You are right! But at the beach.. I do fix sandwiches for me on wheat bread and fat free cheese… so I do ok! I also have fat free chips and stuff. The thing with me is that I get nauseaus and hungry and end up eating what I’m not supposed to.. Bad Jaymi!!
Mscat- Preach on!!! Don’t ever feel like your preaching to me… I like to hear what you gotta say!
I know I missed everyone… Heather, Carri, Amanda, Susan…. Whoooo who else!!
I think I need to get this fast food thing out of my head… that was my downfall in the first place. I can do it! I have to achieve my goal.. And that is to be healthy… I won’t be like I am doing now. I have stopped journaling and counting and everything! I’m being awful!! Tonight (not tomorrow) I’m going to start at least getting my journaling back on track! Well time has run out! I'm sorry I couldn’t leave comments for everyone! Will talk with everyone later!

FRIDAY: Fabulous Lbs Down Friday. Who are our losers this week?
Mornng ladies. I am not feeling well so took some advil and am sitting up waiting for them to take effect so here I am at 2:30 am. SHEESH!
Jaymi: Let me clue you in on something, sugar free just means that and if you look at the back of the package it is LOADED with fat. If I had a preference I would take the ff with sugar over the sugar free with fat. Like those little Hershey bars are like 50% fat calories or something like that for every little piece. OH, AND ANOTHER THING, THEY SUBSTITUTE THE SUGAR WITH SOMETHING THAT WILL GIVE YOU DIAHRREA BIG TIME IF YOU EAT A LOT OF IT SO BE CAREFUL.
Carri: Hope the AC man gets to your house first thing this AM. I grew up with no ac and it was miserable and I know I couldn't live without it now so I really sympathize with you. We even run 2 fans in our bedroom at night WITH the AC just because our utilitiy bills are outrageous if we turn the AC down past 75 and they are horrible at 75 (nearl.y $200 a month for electric alone.) It comes from living in a condo, it being really old so insulation etc is
not great and it being 2 stories.
From the annals of :o :D :^: moment: I went out to the pool with dh last night as he worked in a building with no ventilation all day yesterday and it was 95 here. I found I have lost enough weight that I can jump on his waist and totally put my legs around him! Course he then tries to get kinky in the pool!
Have a great morning gals.

Morning Ladies,
4 points again yesterday! Woo hoo.....it feels so good when I can say that. I did eat a few homemade cookies last night, but I only had a salad for dinner and I got in an extra fighter practice...so I figure I'm ok on that.
Faye...cool about the legs! I remember when I could do that again for the first time :D
MsCat--glad your dh had such an enriching experience.
Carrie--hope you get your ac back soon. We are running the dehumidifier in the house to cool things down a bit. No a/c in Maine....we do need it like, one week a year.
Susan--WOO HOOOOOOOO Congrats on breaking the barriers! :dancer: :dancer:

Morning Girls ... let me just say that last night was one of the worst sleeps I have ever had in my life...I was so miserably hot that I kept tossing and turning and sticking to the sheets, we had the windows open and 2 fans on us and it didnt do anything but blow very hot air around...I was so upset...the
a/c man is supposed to come sometime this afternoon so we will see what happens...I am nauseaus ( sp ) from the feeling of being hot...of course I put my make up on this morning in the hot house and I just sweat most of it off and it ran down my face, ya know I am looking real pretty this morning...frizzy long hair and nasty make up !! ha ha
Thanks for letting me vent ...
I didnt lose any this week...I guess I am happy that I broke even from a few binges last week, but I am happy to say that I have been OP for 5 straight days now and hope to double it next week, weekends are getting hard to stay OP, I am turning into Amanda and craving pizza, pizza, pizza every weekend, what gives?? :)
Faye - congrats on the leg thing, my dh and I are always talking about how since I have lost all this weight we hug so much closer, I know that those kindo of things are big accomplishments...
Julie - I was wondering about Knobdy too...good job on your 4 pointers !!
Jaymi - You can do it with the fast food, but if you HAVE to have it get something low fat there, grilled chicken, salad, etc..

Hi all!
I just got the 1 point for water yesterday - I went about 100 over the higher end of my calories, but it could have been so much worse as I was one step away from ordering a pizza! I managed to talk myself out of it and made low fat sausage and scrambled egg butties instead - which were probably about half the calories and alot less fat, but still took me over my calorie allowance.
Thanks for the advice about the stomach pain - I might mention it to my doctor when I see her next week , the trouble is it is so hard to explain it!
Haven't got time for individual replies, except to say,
WELL DONE SUSAN on your weight loss and moving out of the obese category - that is such a great achievement! :cp: :hat: :cp: :hat: :cp: :hat:
And WELL DONE MSCAT on your pounds down!
Enjoy the weekend ladies!

Cleaned the whole house today (oooohhhh big surprise, right?) and am finishing up this book written by a woman and Thomas Kincade. It is called A New Leaf and it is pretty good. I love his work so much. A couple years ago my dd, sil and ds bought me a Thomas Kincade painting for Christmas. It is not huge about 8 x 10 but it is so beautiful.
I cooked a chicken, deboned it and am cooling the broth to defat it so I can make chicken and noodles for dinner tomorrow. I found German Spaetzle at our commissary and since I can't get Amish noodles down here and didn't feel like making my own, I bought them. They are a lot more expensive than regular store bought noodles but they are so good. I think I am going to make some bread in the morning to go with it. Jack loves my homemade bread and I try hard to cut calories etc out of it if I can.
Everybody have a great weekend.
Carri: Hope your AC is up and working again!

Afternoon All -
MSCat - CONGRATS, CONGRATS :cp: :cb:  :dancer: on your weight loss, you are doing a great job !!! :high:
Amanda - Great job on not giving in to the pizza :jeno: Unfortunately I could not say the same thing about myself last Sunday, there is this pizza here I like
( Circle City Pizza, sausage and pepperoni ) oh it is soooooooooooo good, I sort of break down and have it like once a week ( usually on the weekend ) but with all the salt in it I usually hold onto a couple of pounds for a few days, so it does me no good, except that it tastes so good !!!
I am going to try and follow your example and not have any this week, wish me luck on an OP weekend!! :crossed: :bubbles:
Faye - It is about 3:04 here right now and he has yet to call to come fix the a/c I am getting a little worried but my dh said to give him more time since he said it would be late afternoon, I just was hoping he could do it earlier so that I could come home to a cooler house, one more night and I might faint from the heat :faint:
Well I hope you all have a good ( and cool ) weekend...keep up all of the great efforts!!! :goodvibes

Hey everyone! Quick check-in because hubby just went out to go get a drink with the boys... my daughter is sleep, and I need to go exercise... but instead I am here! I'd probably be eating though... so Rather be here! I am soo disappointed in myself... my hubby keeps getting mad at me,, because I kept getting depressed and pissed off... My clothes are getting tight and my stomach is SOOO bloated! I know it could be signs of PMS.. but I doubt it!! I know that I've been eating wrong.. If the scale is right... I gained 5 lbs... 3 back in this week.. That is just cause for me to go jump in the ocean! Weigh-in is tomorrow, so no chance of seeing a loss for this week, and I’m sure in the **** not going to take measurements... The TV dinners I usually get were way too expensive this week, (not on sale) so I have to eat the regular foods.. Well I'll go ahead and stop all of this whining.. my day wasn’t bad really, just the way I feel inside! Like a failure.. anyways.....
I have a cousin and we always made a pact since we were young to never date an ex of the other one... Well one day I was at her house.. mind you I hadn’t really talked to her in a while.... anyways I was opening up her photo albums and I was single at the time. I opened to a pic of this cute guy in his track uniform.. so as I opening my mouth to say "hook me up" That cute dude walks in the door!!!!! It was soooo scary I just closed the book and acted like it never happened! Anyways my cousin was going to college in Houston, and I would try to go out there all the time to spend time with her.. So she would send me with him all the time.. Well me and him would talk on that 2 hr trip... then one day he told me that he liked me and he didn’t like her... Why did he have to say that?!? Needless to say he broke up with her, we ended up dating and now we're married!! (hope that was fewer than 100 words!! ) My cousin was mad at me for a while... because afterwards I didn't tell her we were dating... but now we are back to normal.
Anyways I gotta get my butt up. My daughter has woke up.. so no exercise for me.. I'd love to have a lOOOONNNGG hot bath right now and read my book... but too bad. Tomorrow I have to get up and exercise no matter what! 30 minutes isn't enough to burn off the calories I ate today!!! I didn't eat too much.. but I ate the Shepard’s pie twice, some fruits, and today I cooked:
Campbell's® 2-Step Garlic Pork Chops
Prep. time: 10 min. Cooking time: 10
Serves: 4
Source: Campbell's® Quick and Easy Cookbook
Ingredients
1 tbsp. vegetable oil
4 boneless pork chops
1 clove garlic, minced
1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell’s® Cream of Mushroom,
Soup OR 1 can (10 3/4 oz.) Campbell's® 98% Fat
Free Cream of Mushroom Soup, Soup
1/2 cup milk
Directions
HEAT oil in skillet. Add chops and garlic and cook until
browned.
ADD soup and milk. Heat to a boil. Cover and cook over
low heat 10 min. or until done. Serve with couscous or
rice if desired.
Tips Also delicious with Campbell's® Cream of Mushroom
with Roasted Garlic Soup; omit garlic.
So... I don't know how many calories that is.. but the rice alone was probably 300... so who knows! Anyways here is a kool article that someone let me in on... oh and it also corroborated with my statement that muscle doesn’t weigh more than fat!!
BTW Congrats MsCAT!!! THAT IS GREAT!!
Faye- if you know of any fat free chocolate candy anywhere.. Let me know!! I know it has about the same amount of everything in it.. But I figure… I’d have to try something to help! My son stole a bag from my sister and ate the whole thing.. He was sick for 2 days… So I know about that diarrhea!
Heather- what is is exactly that you are scared of?!? If I sent you a pic of me in a swimsuit… you would feel better?!? You need to get there and start having fun… once you do that… you’ll notice that no one cares or even looks at you.. They are too busy having fun themselves!!
Susan- You go girl!!! :bravo: :cheer:
Everyone else.. Until tomorrow! I didn’t 4-get about ya.. Time is running out!

SATURDAY: Today is Sunny Thoughts Saturday. What do you have to share?
Heather: Guess it is time to give you the speech I have given everyone else at one time or another on here. I looked at your stats and see that obesity is not something you are really dealing with so I wonder just who has convinced you that you are some grotesque blob or something. Listen, it is time that we take back our bodies and our rights. If you don't stand up for you no one else will! If you are not proud of you at 150 you are not going to be proud of you at whatever your goal weight is. It is a sad thing when our self esteem keeps us from having a full life. I DON'T GIVE A DAMN HOW YOU LOOK AND YOU SHOULDN'T EITHER AS YOU ARE BEAUTIFUL NO MATTER WHAT YOUR SIZE!!!!!! You must must must cone to terms with what you would call the fat you to be able to keep the wieght off when you do lose it. Why are you allowing someone else to dictate what you do with your lfe and you are doing that if you won't wear a suit out in public? I am 300 lbs and wore a swimsuit in public at over 400 lbs, why, because what others think does not matter. WHAT MATTERS IS WHAT YOU THINK OF YOU AND IF YOU CAN'T STAND YOURSELF AND FIND SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU EVERYONE ELSE WILL FEED OFF THAT AND FEEL THE SAME. I call it the "animal smells fear syndrome." It is like animals that smell fear on a person and then growl at them or whatever. This is a self image not body image issue. We can change our bodies and that is what the support on this thread is about, but we have to change our self image too. You have a lousy self image and you need to work to change that. Be proud of your body right now, not because you are happy you are overweight or it doesn't look right to you, but because you are a beautiful person no matter your size. It is like having a phobia, it won't get better until you face it so face it we must! GET IN THAT SWIMSUIT, DON'T HIDE IN SHIRT AND SHORTS, A SUIT AND GO WHERE THERE ARE PEOPLE AND WALK AROUND, SPLASH IN THE WATER, LAY IN THE SUN, WHATEVER AND LOVE, LOVE, LOVE YOURSELF FOR WHO YOU ARE!
Have a great weekend girls and I will check back later.
Faye :)

Morning everyone,
2 points for me yesterday. I was fine until after dinner, and then did a "tv watching binge". Well, not really a binge....popcorn and a couple of granola bars, but it was "unconscious" eating and I know I went over my calories. Sigh. I'm tired of everything revolving around my weight.
Faye--that chicken and spaetzle sounds yummy! I haven't had spaetzle in ages.
Heather--Listen to Faye! She knows what she's talking about....I wonder when we get the idea that everyone is looking at us (probably high school  ) Cuz reality is that everyone is either worried about how THEY look, or just too busy having fun. If you still feel self conscious, just get James to wrap himself around you and you have a human bathrobe! BTW, my dh is named James too.....he hates it when people call him Jim, but everyone does.
Well, it's not very sunny here, but it is Saturday....and at least it isn't too hot. About 70 right now. Carrie, I hope you're sleeping cozy in a nice cool house.
Gotta go take out the garbage before the truck gets here.

Well what a coincidence - it must be a sign! Here I am sat in my swimsuit, ready to go swimming for the first time in years! I have about an hour until the session starts but I thought I'd put my cossie on now so I'm less likely to back out! Faye your advice is great as always - and comes at just the right time for me! I wasn't sure if I was going to go, but I thought I'd try my suit on anyway, to see how it looks - now I figure, I've got the damn thing on, I might aswell go!
I'm not feeling self confident and I'm feeling very fragile and hormonal with PMS - but I'm not going to think of any of that and am just going to go and SWIM!
So please take note Heather sweetie - next time take a deep breath, hold your head up high and GO SWIM! It really is an important thing for you to do and it will mean so much to you when you do it. Like faye says, it can't be to do with your body image as at 150lb you must look quite slim - it's a head thing and I guess it really is 'mind over matter' - just bite the bullet and do it, what is the worst that can happen?
I'll post back when I've been for my swim! Wish me luck!
Love Amanda x

Hello everyone! I am here watching Denise Austin on TV, but not doing it! My daughter has risen!! I had time to exercise.. But I kept procrastinating.. Everything is my fault! I’ve been thinking about tackling that pool by myself today, but I’m not sure.. The park might be a better bet. I think I’m not going to let myself have any rewards or go anywhere unless I exercise first. Today is my official weigh-in day. And I have gained 5 lbs back... I would like to just go jump in the ocean... but there's nothing I can do about it now. I set my alarm to go off at 6:30, but my daughter woke up too. So i put her in the bed with me and get finally went back to sleep (me included), so now at 9 and I ate some Capn' Crunch! Hubby is at work. It looks sunny outside.. I wonder how long that will last! I’m hungry again, I have a headache, and I had one of my terrifying “TORNADO” nightmares last night. I know what it probably means.. That I’m about to go through a storm.. And since hubby was in it… he’s included… I’ve been having those dreams since I was younger, but back then the tornados were always far away… they are getting closer and closer as I get older…and it petrifies me… I can’t imagine anything that terrible happening to me! Well enough of my “pity party”:
Ok I just watched a whole 30 minute workout.. I need to be doing it myself! I’m gonna go rewind it and do some of it. That darned dog is barking away… I swear if we get evicted because of that dog….. I’ll kill my DH.. I keep warning him.. But he doesn’t care… people only come and complain to me since he’s at work all the time… But the next time someone says they will have the dog removed or whatever other threats they make,,, I will say who cares.. Do it! I know people can hear my daughter crying and whatever… but people can’t be evicted because of that.. A baby cries.. That’s her job right!! But a dog… we don’t NEED a dog.. So its something they can complain about! I’m just not in the mood for the people around here.. Or a dog today that constantly barks for no reason…Anyways I better go and get ready to exercise. Talk with ya later!! Jaymi

I DID IT! I DID IT! I DID IT! :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:  :cheer:
I am the :queen: of the pool! I had such a great time - I have not worked out so hard since I don't know when! My whole body aches but I feel great. The session was women only and it was really quiet - just a few ladies and a few children - so I just got in there and got on with it. I am particularly pleased because I swam for the whole session (apart from a few breathers!) which lasted 40 minutes. I remember the last time I went swimming, I weighed about 50lbs less than I do now, but I was a smoker and I could only manage 20 minutes because my lungs couldn't take it. This time I had no such problem and I just swam and swam - it was only when I got out that everything turned to jelly and I felt really wiped out! Then I had to make the 20 minute walk home which is all uphill! :faint:
I just feel so proud of myself that I went - and I'm suprised about how much I actually enjoyed it! It was only when I was leaving that I thought 'I was the biggest person here' - but do you know what? IT DID NOT MATTER! No one cares - they are too busy focusing on their own swimming or looking after their kids. I am definately going to go again - it is such an all over work out, the pounds are sure to fall off if I keep it up!
Thank you Faye for your words today as they really spurred me on!
HEATHER - Seriously girl, if I can do it, you surely can! How about trying a women only session - even the lifeguards are all female. GO ON GIRL - you will feel so great afterwards (well as soon as you step into that pool actually) I promise!
All the best
Love Amanda x

Hello everyone.. Just a quick update... Food hasn't been THAT bad... I ate a SF kool cup and a pickle, and some candy canes... and I ate some of my porkchops, an apple, a plum, and a red pear. I exercised for like 18 minutes and I got tired and just laid there and gave up. I don't have any energy. I get way too tired too fast.. MY daughter is acting bad anyways, so I'm going to wait until her nap and try again.. That darn dog is barking away... hubby is laying on the floor sleeping.. oh well, I don't care. If someone comes banging on the door, he can talk to them! Well I gotta go... gotta pee!! :lol3: Talk with you all later! BTW WAY 2 GO AMANDA!!!!!!!!!!

Hey Hey~
Got back from my little camping trip to Crater Lake. I had a lot of fun! It was spectacularly beautiful. I've been there a few times before but I love it none the less. I had a good two days of BAD BAD eating but I'm getting back on track already today. And even if I ate a lot of nasty stuff I took a few walks while I was there and still managed to get in some water, so hopefully by weigh in day I'll be right where I was.
WTG MSCAT!!! You must feel great. Actually SEEING the weight off is the biggest inspiration!
and WTG AMANDA!!! We're proud of you :)
