Sorry, Happy Canuk, for starting another thread...but, have tried for a couple of days to get #4 to open for me, but, it wouldn't. Don't know if it was my pc or the thread....but, I could open other threads.

Still raining here...don't know if we will ever see sunshine again! :^: DH said if anyone needs a rainy season, just start puttin a roof on the house. :dizzy:

I'm getting things together for my trip. I'll be gone from early Friday until late Monday. I just hope I don't get to feeling too bad. We're going past my treatment time. The clinic is having to move locations, so they are trying to get me to wait until they can get settled in better. Told me if I just couldn't make it, to call, & they would arrange somethig. Although I trust them, I don't like the idea of a "rushed" job...if you know what I mean.

I hope everyone is well & pain free for now. Wish I could have opened up the other thread to know what you all have posted. If you want to go back to it, that's fine. I just figured you wondered what happened to me. & I wanted to say hello. Have a great weekend.

Hi Angel. Sorry you were having such problems getting into that thread. Sometimes it seems to do that, since they changed servers. I wonder why that is?

Well, it sounds like you have decided to get away. Good for you. Enjoy the weekend. We have had more rain this June than in the past, but we are in a draught so we really need it, but it does get monotenous when it is dreary day after day.

I hope you do ok without your meds. Will it be long before you are able to get them?

I don't know where everybody else is, but hope you all have a good weekend. We are leaving tomorrow and will not be back until late Sunday evening.

Hello everyone....I'm going out of town NEXT weekend.....for the 4th of July. Don't start missing me yet. Happy Canuk, hope you enjoy this weekend away.
I've been doing a little shopping for the trip. I heard it is very hot in Texas right now, & one of the singings is in a park....so got me a cute capri set to wear. Going to find a matching hat. Gonna look like I'm one of the "somebodys" I'm afraid it would take more than that. :^:
Rain slacked up just a little today. DH is trying to get the roof covered some more with plastic & tarp, so stop the leaks for the other rains coming in. Joanne....you can have all the rain you want!!! :D I could bottle it & send it....not even have to go outside to get it!

Hope all have a good weekend. Hope all are feeling well. I'm ok....beginning to get fatigued easily, though. Take care.

Hi All!

Saw this thread and Angel's name and thought I'd drop a line or two. I'm okay. Still dealing with the weight and the back. Love that quote Happy Canuck. Might write it down and keep it on the wall or something. Glad to see that you guys are still out there :)

Deb- How nice to hear from you again. Welcome back. My daughter's name is Debra. She often signs her name Deb too.Dealing with weight is a life time thing. You will win the battle one day.
Hello everybody. I am really busy doing a little extra cleaning. I am having company (relatives) this week for a few days.Got to do some extra food shopping too.
I'll have to watch my food intake. They eat pretty much like we do so that should make it easier..

Well here I am .....exausted but determined to say hello before I shower and bed. I have been very busy this week sorting out ready to go away and trying to get my bathroom in a usable condition too. The tiles are finished and the new bath is in....painting, lights, flooring, and trimmings will have to wait til we come home. I have been washing and ironing all day and I am half packed. I always take far too much stuff with me...all ways manage to wear it though and do a wash whilst I am out there.

Hi Deb, you obviously know everybody else on here already but hopefully we can chat too. I am an online junkie so I am always leaving posts on here as you will see if you checkout our other threads but have been slow these last few days as I have been so busy getting ready for my trip. Less than a week until the "Big Day"....Ohh!... Joanne I also have a daughter called Deb. Shes really Deborah but hates it. Shes 37 tomorrow. Makes me feel ancient. Its frightening as to where the years go to.I was married at 16 first time round and was sixteen when Debs was born....unbelievable! My grandaughter is 14 in september.

Charlotte enjoy YOUR trip. I really think it will do you the world of good after all the strife you have been going through. You will come back a new woman. I have just been talking to my eldest son in CT on the phone and he said "get out here quick Mum , then we can hand wee Alex over to someone else for a while and get a rest" Apparently hes on the move now and taking up too much of their time and energy. My middle son is out there already for the wedding and the babe is messing up the days golfing...... They were meant to babysit today whilst my daughter-in -law went looking for an outfit but they got out of that one so theyre on duty tomorrow I think.

Anyway, Everybody else, I hope you are all having a great weekend. I will be on at least once more before I fly on Wednesday, then you will get a break before I am back telling you all about my trip. ;) http://img70.photobucket.com/albums/v213/Virgoanspirit/animations/cardsweetdream.jpg

Hi All,

Nice to see that I was't forgotten lol. My real name is Deborah as well. Mom says it's Debra but when she's really mad it's Deborah. Think that answers that question.

Sounds like everyone is going off for vacation. Sounds like a lot of fun. Angel, hope you have a great trip! You deserve it!

Nice to meet you Pam, by the way. I'm in and out of the boards myself. Post a lot and then get quiet for a while. Your new bathroom sounds nice. I keep thinking that the next time I look for an apartment it has to have a tub. I miss just sitting in a tub. Guess it's a girl thing. Weather has been great on Long Island so your trip to CT should be nice.

Hope everyone has a great week! Debating going to WW tomorrow. Yeah, yeah....how many times have I said that? Just have to take it a day at a time.

Take care,
Deb

Hi all,
How is everyone doing? I am better,I wasn't feeling very good the past week. But I am feeling good today. So I thought to write and say hi.
I got ahold of my friend who I had thought died, she was so happy to hear from me and I her. Although she is in a nursing home right now. She is still ill. They thought now for almost 20 yrs she had M.S. they did a mri and in 16 yrs there is no nerve damage and they haven;t done an mri since she first got sick. So they do not know what 's the problem. Its seems if there is no nerve damage then maybe she should be able to walk. They also removed her hip bone and did replace it, She has a strap on hip so her legs won't wobble all over.

Good afternoon to all of you.

Grasshopper (Deb) - So nice to see you again. Hope you decide to join us on this thread. Sorry your back is still giving you trouble, but by now, it will probably just be there. Did you go to WW today????

Pam - Not long now before you leave. I hope you have a great trip. Glad you got your bathroom done. That must be a BIG relief. I absolutely hate living in a MESS. I would be beside myself, if I was in Angel Lover's position. I NEED to be organized

Laura - nice to hear from you and glad you are feeling better. Hey, that was neat that you found your friend. I hope they can determine what her problem is and maybe help her to get well.

Well, I had a busy weekend. Went to my daughter's and looked after my little grand daughter. Then on Sunday, met some friends for breakfast and sat and visited for 4 hours!!!! Then back to my daughter's and my son and his girlfriend came over. Then FINALLY, back home. Kind of tired today, but had to vote, as we are having a Federal Election today. Now that it is done, I can just relax.

Hope everybody is having a good day.

Hey Girls
Deb- Make that first step. You will be glad you did. The hard part is walking through the door the first night. Try a TOPS group. The first meeting is free. You can follow any healthy plan you want and you will meet some nice people that will give you support. You will be glad you did. It is not as expensive as WW. WW is a good plan. I go to Tops and follow the WW 123 plan. I have finally reached a goal weight I can live with.
Stirfried- Your friend may have been misdiagnosed.. That happens more than we know..Glad you found each other..
Pam-I know of no thing that is worse than living in a house while you are working on it.. I did that once. We redid a bath ,living room, hall, and moved right on to do the kitchen before we were done. What a mess and pain in the neck...I almost had a breakdown/murdered my hubby.
By for now.. I may be MIA for a couple days. I have company coming tomorrow...Joanne

Hi All,

Didn't make it to a meeting today.....legs were really bugging me. But I did get in the pool and do some laps...walking and swimming. Pretty proud that I did that. In some pain now.....just hope the muscle relaxers, etc., kick in so I can make it to work tomorrow.

You're right about the Tops meeting Joanne......lol. How many times have I said I've got to go to one of those? Think they meet on thursday nights so I might check that out. I agree with you on the cost....WW is pretty expensive if you're in it for the long haul.

Hi Laura......don't think we've met yet. Glad to hear that you found your friend. Shame about the misdiagnoses. Hate that...how they just lable someone and move on...no room for second opinions or follow up.

Canuck.....sounds like you got you had a great time :). Isn't it funny how time flys? Seems to fly the older I get......

Hope everyone has a great day!

There's nothing like being with those grands! Two of my granddaughters are here this week. We have them every other weekend. Our son is going through a divorce, & has joint custody at the moment. That's one thing taking up a lot of my time, lately. Helping him with court case, & grands.

Joanne D

Enjoy your company!

Glad you found your friend. So sorry she is in bad health. Sounds like she had a misdiagnoses. Sometimes drs ends up making us worse, instead of better. That's sad. I think that happened to me after my injury to my back yrs ago. Best of luck to you & friend.

Pam

Thanks. I plan to try my best to have fun & do some relaxing! I'm getting pretty anxious to go. It's been a long time since I've been anywhere, & been at this burnt/remodeling house for almost 2 years now.

Everyone have a great evening....hello to everyone!

Hi girls,

I feel like you, I haven't been here posting, but I try to, Just so many things going on right now.
I have been on the phone talking to my friend. We have a lot of catching up to do. My aunt also my roomie is in the hospital nothing bad. She had her gall bladder removed. So I guess its bad for her. She had to have the long incision not the laproscopic one. I had that surgery when I was 26.. I dont remembering it hurting that bad, except when moving around. I guess my aunt being older than I was has a lot to do with it. Also everybody handles pain differently. The morphin isn't working well. The docs say its because of the high amount of methadone she takes regularly, (3 10 mgs. 3 times a day). I feel bad for her.I not trying to minimize her pain. I know she is really hurting. :) So what are you up to? I see there are some new people here. I just want to welcome you to our little group. You will love us. WE do,LOVE us :D
Deb,
So I will introduce myself to you. I am Laura or stirfried. Once you get to know me better you will see how perfect the name stirfried is for me. Do you have R.A. or O.A., Or some other anti immune disease. Its okay if you don't. In fact I am hoping you are not ill at all. I know that sounded stupid; :dizzy: Anyway.. How mu8ch weight are you trying to lose, and what diet and excersize plan are you on. Me I am trying to do Atkins, You see the word {TRYING} not alway secceeding. I have lot but not alot since I started trying to lose weight from way back in DEC. of 03. I started doing a version of Atkins in May. I have lost only 11 or 12 lbs in 2 months. I need butt glue so I don't fall off the weight loss wagon. Nice to know you,and thanks for your response about my friend Connie.
] Pam
How is it going? Aren't you about to get ready to leave for ct,. for your sons wedding. How old is the baby. I have a six year old grandson and I just adore him. He is my little bud, thats not his name its Brady. He's visiting his dadf out of town for the summer ans I miss him so much!! He is my little  My life seems :halfempty without him. I know I sound like a grandmother[/COLOR].
Anne
How are you? What part of Canada are you from?
Graphics next subject: I got confused after I went to that iparenting web page. I did not understand how to do it. I know me and I did not take enough time to really try to figure it out on my own. I don't have alot of patience. Can you Help me?? Please!! All of your graphics are so nice, Yours and Angels both. I really want to know how to do it. Should I buy a graphic program , What Kind would I get? Angel,
Hi how are you doing? Are you alright? Your post said your have been going thrugh alot. Well I hope everything is alright.
You are right about the Drs mis diagnosing my friend Connie. She is showing signs of nerve damage behind her eye, Just one though. But none on her spine. thanks for the reply..
Do you guys know what M.S. is and how it affects the nerve? All I know is that we have a covering around the nerves called mylien or something like that; when you get M.S. it attacks the covering and exposes the nerves, I guess thats caused you to begin to lose function in the spine so a person can't feel or move much at all or it can effect the eyes. I really do not understand it all, but I guess it attacks women mostly between the ages of 20 to 40. It usaully takes time before you notice anything like numbness or tingling It can take years before you end up in a whellchair. With Connie she said her legs felt funny the night before, and the next morning she coul not walk at all. In fact she was alone with her then infant daughter, so I she had to get herself on the floor and push herself to check on the baby, then manged to get a phine. I bet she was so terrified. I really am glad I found out where she was. We have known each other since the 7th grade.

Joanne D.
How are you feeling? I hope all is well with you. I am starting to have some pain so I guess I will have to say goodbye.
Old ageie, Is that spelled right?
I want to say hello to you to Hope you are feeling good.

You should see me trying to type I am hitting all the wrong letters its getting frustrating.
Take care you guys. I hope you are having a no pain day..

Hi Laura. I seems like everybody is busy. Pam is getting ready to go overseas; Angel is gone until Monday or Tuesday. I was busy. Yesterday was Canada Day, so it was a holiday. Hubby was home and we were out.

This thread has been moving pretty slow the past couple of weeks. Hope it doesn't die.

Laura, I asked you this before. Do you have MSN or YAHOO installed on your computer and do you have a headset or microphone? That would be the easiest way to learn graphics. I could walk you through it. You do NOT need any special program to get started. I use PaintShop Pro, because another group of ladies with FM and chronic pain, decided to get into it. We make some of our own images etc. You can get many "snags or snaggables" through the net. Just type that into Goggle and lots of site will come up.

When you see an image you like, RIGHT CLICK on it, and choose SAVE PICTURE AS. I don't know how much you know about computers, and making files. You will need to make a file to put your graphics in.

I hope you are having a good day and I will be happy to help you out with graphics. Whenever you are ready, let me know.

Hi All,

Sorry I missed you the other day Stirfied. Especially after that nice long note! Good luck on the graphics thing.....I don't have that much patience. Some teacher I am.....I'm a poor student. lol.

Hmmm, guess I should introduce myself to you too, Stirfried. I don't have RA or OA. I've got a nasty back injury that I'm trying to recover from. Scratch that....it's been 3 years - think this is as good as it gets. I need to lose about 150lbs......or my evil twin as I like to call it.

I'm not really following a plan. I really need to though. Back has been getting worse the last few weeks. Need to do something before I end up in a wheel chair. Just wish it was easier, you know? Saw Dr. Phil once say that being overweight is not natural.....that you have to work to be overweight. Odd way to think about it but guess it's true. I tried the Atkins diet a few years ago......did pretty good on it but once I went off the diet the weight came back. You might want to take a look at the site...lowcarbfriends.com......it's a good source of information and recipes.

No plans for this weekend. I'm going to try and stay cool while I finish the baby quilt I've been working on. It's all embroidered, even the back has the baby's name and date of birth, but I just can't seem to sit down and finish it. Worst part is that my sister is now pregnant and I'll have to start a new one! lol. If any of you are into stamped cross stitch check out ebay - there are some great deals on there!

Well, I hope everyone has a great 4th! and 5th! lol. Take care......

Hi, I'm popping in again to see what is going on with all of you. I've had a pretty good week. Two weeks ago I signed up for a weigh loss program at a Wellness clinic. So far I haven't lost much weight, but I am feeling a lot better. These sessions start out sitting in a chair that massages you all over from the feet to the head, feels wonderful. Then you listen to a hypnosis tape and it is followed by an accupuncture session. As I said I've only lost 1 pound, but the massage chair is WONDERFUL

Nothing much is going on around here. What part of Texas was Charlotte comming to? Dallas has just set a record for the most rain, and the most consective days of rain in history. Luckily it's over now, and we should have a dry weekend, and holiday.

I have dazzled the people on the other threads I post on with all the fun graphics I've picked up on here. Laura, just hang in there, and one day it will click! Well, I'd better get up and see about getting some supper fixed. Not Fun!

Anne,
I have msn and yahoo both. I know a little about computers and I know how to save as, I least I thought I did. I did it a couple of days ago,but can't find the file. I have all kinds of pictures saved in my documents under my pictures. So I really want to learn. Anything you give me to try and learn, I will do it. Thanks
Young grasshopper,
I am sorry to hear about your back. It sounds awful and painful.
You really do need some kind od plan to lose, of course I am sure you know this. You might try the Low Carb again. It doewn't have to be as strict as Atkins is,as least as far as the first 2 weeks go. I did try to do the 20 carbs od less and did lose about 10 lbs,but then I end up goingoff it for a feww days and gained part of it back. But it seems to be working for me. Not having to follow it day by day I am still losing but very slowly. In about 2 months I have lost maybe 10 -13 lbs. I know that is not much but I figure its better than no weight loss. This way I am losing anywhere between 1 and 2 lbs a week I guess thats pretty normal. sometimes its not even that much. Good luck to you.
age oldie
Your wellness clinic sounds great. Even though you haven't lost much it sounds like you are really getting something good out of it.
I am going to continue to learn about the graphics. There are so neat ans some are so pretty,I can hardly wait to learn.

Well I have to go. If I stay on too long I start to get stiff and pained.

Good morning to all of you. Hope your day is going well.

Laura - I would be happy to help you. When you are ready let me know. We can hook up on MSN or YAHOO as it is easier to walk you through it. It isn't hard, just a little confusing at first.

Deb - hope you are feeling better. We all NEED to lose this weight once and for all. I need to get motivated as well. I am starting to count calories instead of following all these plans that tell you to eat when your hungry. It isn't working for me.

Ageoldie - that new treatment your doing sounds WONDERFUL. Good luck with that. Hope it helps your pain out as well as your diet. Anything we do that can help us relax is a plus.

Joanne - you have been hard on yourself again!! Hope your knee feels better. Maybe you need a shot of cortisone in your neck as well as your knee. You really do need to go see about it.

I am going to go join our Recreation Center today and see if I can get motivated to get moving. I am taking my disc player and my runners and going to get busy walking.

I did end up in ER last night, after slicing mythumb on the lid of a tincan. The Dr. didn't want to stitch it, as he said I would lose the nerve sensation in the end of the thumb, and I would end up with a tingling, numb sensation. So, they put Steri-strips on it and bandaged it up. Also, they gave me a Tetnus Shot, so I won't get lock jaw, I guess  Be terrible if I couldn't talk or eat!!

Happy- You know I am always harder on myself than others. I sliced my middle finger to the bone while cleaning fish one day a few years ago. I didn't go to the Dr. ,but, I taped it together and wrapped it. It has always been numb and tingles . So I guess it doesn't matter one way or another. I had particles coming out of it for ages. I am watching my weight carefully for the remainder of this week. Too many temptations this past week.

Tops tomorrow.. I can only hope to be on goal. And that is ok. No matter what I do I can't seem to get lower. I have no intentions of starving myself for another 5 lbs. I wouldn't mind another 5 lbs off, but, I can be satisfied with what I have.

Angel, why didn't you call me when you were here in Dallas? glad you had a great trip. I guess Pam is over here now, although CT is a long way from Dallas. I never will forget the first time My DH's family came here from England. They came to Dallas and wanted to go to Disneyland one day and Disney World the next. It was up to us to explain that you couldn't get from one side of the country to the other in just a couple of days!

I'm still going the the Wellness Clinic and still enjoying the pampering. I can't say it's really helped with the weight loss, but it sure feels good!

I go back the the rheumatoligist Monday. It's been 3 months and I have to say that the plaguenil is beginning to kick in. I do feel a little better than I have been feeling. No quite as many bad days.

I hope everyone is having a good week.

Hi everybody. I posted a long message....& it vanished!http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Felix.gif I can't remember all I said, but, anyway....the sun is finally shining! Beautiful day!http://media.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/2766/sun_wave_md_wht.gif

Oldagie....I didn't know your phone number to call you in Dallas. I was going to email you, but we couldn't find an access number for Connie's laptop. That was funny about the family wanting to go to Disneyland. :D I would be just as lost in their country...probably worse. Good luck at the Rheumatologist. I have a treatment Monday. It's overdue...they're are moving to a different location & had to put me off. Said if I needed it too bad, to call, & they would work me in. I don't want to do that, though. I'm afraid I'd get a rushed job....don't want that.

Happy Canuk....hope your thumb is better, now. Better be careful. Our fingers are some of the few good things we have left. Although mine stay swollen & stiff.

Pam....you're doing a beautiful job with your graphics!

Stirfried...hang in there...you'll get it.

Hello to Rita, Kim, & all others!

Had a longer post, but out of time now. I'll be back later. Have a good, & pain-free day!

Hi All!

Glad to hear that you had such a good time Angel. Sorry to hear about your knees Joanne...hope the treatments worked.

Here's a little story of caution: I went to my doc this week to get a renewel on my muscle relaxers (flexeril). No big deal, right? Thought these were pretty low level considering that I've had them prescribed to me, on and off, for years. He then tells me that they aren't intended for long term use and that I could be damaging my kidneys! Geez, way to scare a girl. Have to go in for a blood test next week. I don't think it's that far gone but you 'd think one of the doc's would have told me about this before. So, just check your meds to make sure that they're okay for long term use.

To top it off, he's prescibed a narcotic to take the place of the muscle relaxer. Don't really like the idea of that...know what I mean? I'm careful about what I take, etc., but I don't like be given something so strong in a high dose.

On top of going in there for a renewel I was hoping to try something new......ortho. surg. didn't help, and I've done pain management a few times. Wanted to try accupuncture or even, and I'm scared to try it, chiropractors. He said not to worry about that because I'm sure to qualify for the biatric surg. (Not too sure about that one at all but it's been discussed). Just wish would listen to me better...know what I mean?

Ah, enough of my ranting. On the plus side, I've been making it into the pool almost every day this week. Haven't done a ton of stuff but I think it helps stretch my back out before bed. Even bought some styrofoam water weights to try out.

Just taking it a day at a time.........hope everyone has a great weekend!

Grasshopper- Nice to hear from you again. My knees are not hurting as bad, I was able to do 2 miles on the Treadmill today.
Most medications for pain are really supposed to be short term. I take Darvocet n 100 for pain but only one time a day. I can take it 2 times a day if I need to. I rather use Advil first. Some days I take nothing. If it gets too bad I will get an injection. I haven't had to have one of those in a long time.I would give anything to have a warm pool or hot tub to go to every day. My son has a hot tub ,but ,he lives 15 minutes away. Too much trouble to go there for 20-30 minutes. And I never know if he has company. His girl friend might be there. I don't think mama would be welcome then.My bathtub will have to do...
Have a good weekend..Hello everybody...Joanne

Joanne, I relate to you. My son only lives 2 doors away, and he has a pool, but somedays it's just too much trouble to walk down there, and he tells me I'm almost always welcome, JUST CALL FIRST!!! :callme:

And Deb, I relate to you too. My DH did some serious damage to his kidneys by taking pain meds for too long. Now he has just been to the doc for the arthritis in his knees, and the doc wanted to start him on celebrex, but he's going to go talk to his kidney specialist before he takes them. You might want to check out the Weight Loss Surgery thread here at 3FC. It's really good and there are some very knowledgable folks there that can help you along with the decisions to consider WLS. I post on there all the time because we started it when my DH was going through it. He is now over 2 years out and I still hang out there, cause everyone is so much fun.

Ageoldie- I know just what you mean. Ofcourse ,my son usually calls us before he comes here too. Ofcourse things are different when they are single and have a girlfriend.
Deb- Please look very carfully into WLS. There is a less invasive method called banding,I think. It is still surgery but they put a band on part of the stomach. It seems to me that could be reversible if there complications. But, do go to the site Ageoldie gave you. We have a couple ladies in Tops who have had WLS and are very happy they went that route. Most of our illness is from overweight. I have lost 70 lbs and I can't begin to tell you the difference in my health and life. I still have my arthritis problems, but, not to the extent of going to E.R .like it was before. Now if I could reverse the ageing.

Good morning ladies. Hope everyone is having a lovely day. It's raining and miserable her but I'm trying not to let it dampen my mood. My husband and I are relocating to Maryland in a few weeks, and I've been so busy looking for houses, etc... that I've been neglecting my friends here.
Sorry.
:(

Anyway, new house. So exciting. It's out in the middle of nowhere, on an old farm. I can't wait!

This guy here, he lives in the side yard. Wandered in one day and decided to hang around. I'm going to name him Wilbur. :p
Here's a photo of the house. I've never lived in a single family home before, I've always been "attached" to my neighbors somehow. This is going to be such a kick!

Hi.

Pam - nice to see you made it back. You must be really tired. That was a very fast trip and with the jetlag, you are probably down for the count.

Khewes - nice looking house, and a brand new pet  Well, that will keep you busy with moving and stuff.

Deb - whatever it takes, go for it. The weight is just such a hinderance to good health. If you can get rid of it, and then eat healthy you will do ok.

Joanne - gee, I hope you are feeling better now. If you want water, you should come up here. God turned on the tap, and left it running  Boy, a LOT of rain has fallen, and we are not through yet. I think the drought IS over!!

Hope everybody is doing ok. Haven't seen Laura on or Charlotte for awhile. Hope you ladies are out enjoying summer.

Khewes- It looks like you have found your little piece of heaven. I love the country. My daughter has a ranch in North Fl. She is surrounded with cow pastures. North Fl. is hilly and beautiful.
Happy- I have finally given up on my neck. I am seeing the Dr. tomorrow. Sunday was nothing but pain. Rain all around me and none on my place. We spent most of yesterday with the water running. I hate to see my water bill this next month even though we have a well for watering the yard.
Pam- Your time over here was not very long? I have never been to your country. I read a lot so I will have to be satisfied with that.
Laura- I was in Texas once. Elpaso.. My brother was there before he go out of the Army..Just for a week.
Grasshopper- Hello.. Hope you are doing well.
Bye all...Joanne

Hi girls,
I have not been here in a week. Just didnt feel good. Better now. I tried to read some of the posts, but I didn't read them all.
I have to take pain meds every day for my R.A. I take 80 mg of methadone a day. My doctor kept increasing my pain meds and said he didn't want me to get addicted to vicodin and he worried about the tylenol. So now I am addicted to methadone I am sure I am if not yet. So I told him to start bringing me down off of it. I take 4 10 mg in the morning and 4 10mg in the afternoon. He started me out at 1 10mg tablet 4 times aday. This was before we found a med like methitrexate and humira to help, so that took a while because I had to find a way to pay for the humira and the methotrexate caused blood problems fo a while, so after months of having nothing to stop the progression of the R.A. he used the methadone for pain. So finally He is going to take me down to 1-3 pills a day as needed for pain. Crazy huh. I wish he would have kept me on the vicodin because the methadone I ended up taking more of it than I would have the vicodin, its because you get a tolerence built up fast using the methadone. I never had trouble with the vicodin building up a tolerence like that. Now the vicodin is almost like taking tylenol. My aunt just had surgery and they had to double the ordinary amount of morphin for the pain because her doctor did the same thing and gave her mthadone for pain. I guess a lot of Doctor are giving metgadone out for chronic pain. I think even more so if you are low income, because its cheaper for the state health plan than other pain killers. I know I hate taking this much pain meds. I am afraid of going through withdrawls because methadone is a sinthetic heroin.
Lucky me :( The Doc said he has to take me off of it slow.

Thats all for now
Oh Yeah I gained weight I was 184 now I'm 188.5. Iblew when my aunt was in the hospital I went crazy with ice-cream and cookies. So I have to get back on the wagon. My but glue didn't work.

Hi All,

Sorry to hear about your troubles Laura. Know what you mean about the pain meds. Doc just put me on Vicadin and I'm afraid of the addiction factor. The only plus side is that it makes me feel nasty so I only take it when I REALLY need it. Pretty sad when that's a plus side. I'll keep you in my prayers.

Was home from work today due to the back. Can't say I did much other than sleep. I wish God would at least send me some good dreams! lol. Then again, I should be careful what I wish for....probably have dreams about food or something. lol

Glad to see Angel is back! Kewes the house looks cool! I had and uncle that swore by his goat.....better guard than a dog! lol. Wilbur the Guardgoat!!!!! Sorry, made me laugh...I'm blaming it on the meds. lol. (Keep hearing the theme to High Noon thinking aobut my uncle's goat)

Thanks for the support about the surg. I know that some of my family aren't going to like it when I bring it up. Figure I'm just not going to tell them until I'm days before the surg. All I know is that I'm tired of feeling this way......that I'm too young for this and I'm afraid of how I'll be at 60. I'm rolling up on 34 in a few weeks......30 wasn't bad (other than that's the year my back went) but I think 35 will be horrible if I'm in the same boat.

Hope everyone is staying cool.......lots of rain here! Parts of my town got flooded so bad it's on the news all over the state. I'm okay......except my hair looks like a spooked cat. lol.

Laura- I hope your Dr. can find something less addicting for you and you can get control of your pain.
Deb- You are in charge of your body. Do what you have to to get healthy. Your family should have nothing to say about it..If you think they will give you grief, don't tell them till you are in the hospital. Then if it bothers you let a friend do it.. They will only stay mad a while..I didn't tell anyone but my close family the last time I got serious about losing. They didn't have faith that I would do it...You can do this. I didn't see any of them for several weeks and pound down..Then they thought I was sick..
