Hi Everybody, here's our new thread.

I'll be back in a little while.

 Geez do I have to do everything around here all byself, start the new thread, then be the first to post on it. Looks a little tacky you guys, help me out
please.

So Lily, where are you? As a matter of fact it seems very quiet around here tonight. Where is everybody?
Karen I loved your "story"....only 1 layer of makeup eh? LOL :D
Boy you must have been just racing to get to that meeting.
Peggy that punch recipe is nice and it looks so pretty with the fruit on it. It would be appropriate for any gathering.
Maria boy those chocolates will get you every time. Costco (around Christmas time) hands them out. I can NEVER say no :nono: and chocolate is not even one of my downfalls. The gal with the tray of chocolates says, "ma'm, would you like one".? Oh ok!
Ann the menu for the party sounds just great. Wish I were going. I have a really simple (but very good and tasty) recipe for a cake that you start off by using a white cake mix, and mixing crushed pineapple into it and mashed bananas. After it is baked you make a topping of shredded coconut, brown sugar and butter and put it under the broiler for a few minutes until golden brown.
If you need another cake recipe let me know and I will post it for you. :)
Trudy I hope you had a nice time tonight at the "Body Shop" party. I don't know gals, what do you all think? Do you really think it was bath products and lotions.....LOL
Night all.

Trudy: Good for you Getting back to goal! Cool present! I love Better Homes and Gardens cookbooks! Body Shop party sounds fun! Must be new, otherwise my friend would of had one by now. She does them all!

Peggy: I have been hearing the news. Pretty spooky. Dont understand why people do that.

Maria: Have fun in the PhotoShop Class!

Ann: Sounds like you are going all out for easter! Your menu sounds fabulous! What time should I be there?

Karen: Sounds like you made the meeting just in time. I have done things like that several times. I forgot my last hair appointment completely. She usually calls me when I screw up but she didnt this time. Didnt remember until the following Monday. Then there was the time I went in a week early! :)

Slavika: Im here! Just been a busy crazy two days. Havent even had time to check the board. ALAS..
No I dont believe Trudy for a second. I think she is telling us a fib as she didnt want us to go. How Rude!

Night all!

G'day all

Trudy congratulations on getting to goal. apologies that it is somewhat belated. everytime I post there is always something that I have forgotten I should have posted:( Your Body shop party sounded like fun, I am a sucker for all the potions and creams etc.

Lily I had a great time at my photoshop class, it was the last one. It is all so simple if someone tells you!!!! I am going to play around and practice this afternoon. I am going to investigate the possibility of doing another course similar. As my teacher said, you will never know everything in a lifetime what you can do in Photoshop!!!
Did a lot of grocery shopping this morning and struggled on the train with it, everything is now put away and the cupboard is fully stocked for son and partner's arrival tomorrow:) Of course the sales are still on and I bought a couple of pairs of slacks and a pair of shoes as well. Very productive morning.
DH wants to go to the fishmarkets after work, prawns (or shrimps as you may call them) are very cheap in Sydney, I don't care for them that much but dh just loves them.
Everyone have a fantastic Easter.
Cheers
Maria

Have a nice weekend everyone and don't eat too much candy. Since I am the Easter Grinch we are having carrots. No one here really needs candy. Trudy are you sure that party wasn't a little kinky? I don't think that you are telling all. Lily glad you are checking in. Hope that things get a little less hectic for you. Well I heard this morning that our riots are spreading to the suburbs. They are thinking of calling in the Nat'l Guard. I am so glad that my DH is a retired fireman now and doesn't have to respond to any of it. The fire trucks are getting police escorts. It is time for cool heads to prevail. Oh well, enough of that. Tomorrow I have to babysit so I am going to the Donnas Day site. She has a recipe to make a bouncing ball. I think we will try it. Peggy HAPPY EASTER

Hi gals
Instead of buying chocolate for ourselves this Easter (that is what we usually do :o ) we bought 2 lovely bunches of Tulips. I feel so proud. :smug:
Every supermarket we went to today (and trust me - we were in quite a few), we saw Slavika.
The BODY SHOP party was fun. I spent around $66.00 on myself and also got something for "you know who" ...they have lotions, gels, scrubs, perfume, cosmetics, soaks, bath fizzes & bubbles & salts, you name it. AND NOTHING KINKY  Tell you what, I will host a party and all of you are invited. I think we would have a lot of fun. :D
Slavika - stop complaining and just keep starting the new threads... keep us organized. We would probably keep on going past page 2 and then 3 and who knows what number we would end up on. :spin:
Lily.. I think they are working you too hard, time to retire and have some fun. ;)
Maria sounds like you are ready for your Son's arrival, and you will be looking good in your new clothes when he comes.
Peggy - I have been reading about the riots. I sure hope everything calms down soon. That has to be upsetting having it happen in your own city. It can happen anywhere at anytime.

Well I have to dash out and do a couple more errands, everything is closed tomorrow, so I guess I will be forced to stay home and do some housework after I come home from the Good Friday Service at Church.

Hi Everybody Boy, going to Safeway before a holiday is like a social event. I ran into lots of my friends there. Trudy and I were following each other from store to store. It was like a game of follow the leader. :D
When Trudy went to her "alleged" Body Shop Party for scents and things, I asked her to order me "BERGAMOT" body lotion. I had bought the body wash before and I just love the smell of it. For those of you who have access to "The Body Shop" stop in next time and ask to smell it......
Maria do you have the chain of stores called "The Body Shop" in Australia?
Peggy that is really too bad about the riots happening in your neck of the woods. We get a little of the news but I also looked on the net tonight. :(
Lela where are you? We haven't "seen" you for a long time. How is school coming along?

On one of my many stops today I was buying some large navel oranges and a lady came over and was looking at them too. She said to me, "you know there is hardly any orange....it's all just this thick skin." So I smiled and said, "yes the skin is quite thick on the oranges". Then she said to me, "you know they do that on purpose", I'm thinking who does what on purpose. Well I wasn't left wondering for long, because she told me that "THEY" grow those oranges like that on purpose and charge people a lot of money to buy them, and then they don't have to give them much orange....just lots of skin. Oh Lordy, why me? LOL :D
So that was my Thursday. :)
Night all.

Slavika- Thanks for the new thread. And also thanks for the recipes. One question about the cake- do you make the cake as indicated on the box and then add drained pineapple, or do you use the pineapple and juice for the liquid. I would like to try it, but want it to be right. It sounds wonderful.I believe I will also use your punch recipes too . This isn't Easter, this is a park activity and we will probably have 85 to 100 people. Have entertainment planned too, singers and 'hula "girls"'and of course the comic hula boys:rolleyes: Just a fun time. For Easter we are going to be quiet and go out for dinner with another couple.

Trudy- What a great reward for getting to your goal.:smug: I love all that stuff and my skin needs lots of lotions.
The Toodleoo dinner was a way to have fun and also say goodby to all the winter residents. Many people only stay here for the 5 or 6 months of winter and then go back north. We are the smart ones who have made Florida our home.

Lily- I wholeheartedly agree with the rest- time to retire and just do all the stuff you like to do. I guarantee you will still be busy.

Last night was not a good one for sleeping. My DH has bronchitis and he woke up having a real problem breathing. I wanted to go to the emergency room, but typical man, said no, so there was not a lot of sleep had by anyone. He did go to the Dr. today and got a shot, medicine, and an inhaler, so hopefully tonight will be better.

Have you ever made the WW pineapple angelfood cake? Take angel cake mix, add 20oz can of crushed pineapple, juice and all . Stir in quickly and pour into a 9x13 cake pan. Bake as usual, until dry on top. Cool and serve with coolwhip. It is good and 3points for 1/16th You can also use mandarin oranges, or thawed frozen strawberies. Just need 20ozs.of fruit and liquid.

Karen- Do you share recipes with the people at your meetings? Is the subject matter for each lecture the same all over? So when out lecturer talks about BLT's or whatever, you are doing it to for that week. I've often wondered. I went to one meeting where the leader had some sort of small prize for the person who had the greatest loss for the week. I remember once I got a free session at
an exercise salon.

Peggy- Hope all will be well where you live. It is scary, and sad at the same time.It is hard to imagine the sort of frustration that breaks out in violence and rioting.
How was your bone density test? Didn' you have one just recently?

Tomorrow a group of us from church are going to visit a replica of Jerusalem, and the Temple. It has been built by a group of Jews for Jesus in Orlando. I'm looking forward to it. It should give a better idea of what life was like back then.

Have a Happy Easter!! Ann

P.S. Slavika= What do you think of 'Left Behind'?

Karen L
04-12-2001, 10:31 PM
To answer your question Ann We are given guides to use but can talk about whatever we feel the group needs. Sometimes I've thrown my notes out and just went with the conversation that comes up. Sometimes a few members will need more input from others to get through a particular challenge. So we just go with it. We have drawing every so often and give away a cook book or some other WW product. I am going to be giving a rose to each member when she or he makes lifetime. I think that will be a nice touch don't you?? Got one next Tuesday and I am so excited .:smug:Also yes I do share a lot of recipes with my group. Makes life a little easier for them .I remember when I was losing my weight I lived to have my leader give me that kind of help.

Peggy I feel for you and the riots. Back in the 70"s when we were still in the service and overseas my DH used to have to go and help gain control of the troops when they were rioting. I remember he used to have to put on his dress uniform so they could knew who was a good guy and who was not. It was a very scary time for us.

Lily are you going to be the next one to retire? Maybe you can rest up this weekend. Hope so. :)

Trudy I hope hubby is better today. Men they should just go to the doctor when we tell them right.

Slavika We have The Bath and Body works here. I belive at the Mall of America there is a Bath and Body Shop. When I was in the Bath and Body Works yesterday I found a new flavor that I fell in love with called "Water Blossom Ivy" It smells so nice and fresh. And I loved the story about the oranges. People are funny.

Maria enjoy the time with your son. You sure lead a full life. You always seem to be busy. I agree with you this computer stuff is simple but only when someone shares the info.

Well I'm out of here.

Hi Ann
I didn't mean for you to have to figure the recipe out by yourself, I just wanted you to kind of know what it was like to "SEE" if you would like the recipe. Actually gals you might all enjoy this recipe since it is very simple.
Ok, here it is, some of you might already have it. :)

You start with a white cake mix. Here in Canada we use one called "Added Touch" by Shirriff Co. and it is 150 g. pouch.
For you, my US cyberbuddies, buy a cake mix that is about 9 oz. Read the instructions on mix. Mine says:
Add 2 eggs, 1/2 cup cold water and 2 tbsp oil. You might have to buy a larger cake mix and divide in half....I've done that too. Now having said all that you just ignore the instructions on the cake mix package and do this instead:

TROPICOLADA CAKE
1 pouch (250 g or 9 oz) White Cake Mix
1 egg
1/2 cup mashed banana
1 can (14 oz.) crushed pineapple drained (RESERVE THE JUICE)
*****HINT: I cut up about 5 or 6 maraschino cherries and add that to the crushed pineapple.

COCONUT TOPPING
1/2 cup shredded sweetened coconut
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter
2 tbsp. milk

To prepare cake : Blend cake mix, egg, banana, and pineapple juice. Stir in the pineapple, Pour into greased 8" square baking pan. BAKE 350F for 30 - 35 min. REMOVE FROM OVEN.
To prepare topping: Combine coconut, brown sugar, butter, milk in a saucepan. Bring to boil over medium heat. Boil for 1 min. SPREAD OVER HOT CAKE. Broil 2 -3 min. until golden brown. Cool and serve.

Recipe says 12 servings.............4 pts per ser.
8 servings.............5.3 per ser.

Ann and everybody this is a very moist cake. You usually find these inexpensive pouch cakes by the pouches of muffin mixes and stuff like that. They usually cost only around a $1.00. This is another recipe which I have made over and over again. It's a great tea time cake or even a birthday cake and its not TOO BIG. :)

I'm only about half way through another book I'm reading so I have not started "Left Behind" yet.

Karen I think a rose is a lovely idea to give to someone when they make lifetime. You sound like a good leader. Slavika now you know why navel oranges have such thick skin. I always wondered. LOL Ann is the replica of Jerusalem a permanent thing or just for Easter. I would like to see it sometime. How is your DH feeling? Mine has poison ivy really bad. I am forever washing sheet and towels. We were all under curfew last night even where I live outside of the city limits. Most of the churches had to cancel their Holy Thursday services. It seems to have calmed things down hopefully. We are really a very nice city and nice friendly people even though Jerry Springer used to be our mayor. It is almost time for the kids to come. Have to prepare myself for a busy day. Peggy

Slavika: Funny story about the oranges. Humm no wonder they have all that skin ;) That cake sounds yummy. I will have to give it try.

Peggy: Heard more about the riots. Getting really scary there.Hope it setlles down soon. Your poor DH. Posion Ivy is not fun.

Ann: Wow that is a big party! Sounds like it will be fun. I have made the Pineapple cake before its very good. Dont know if this is the one you are talking about, but its the one I used:
serves 12 big portions........................... 3 points

1 Box Angel Food Cake Mix (one step kind where you just add water)
1 can (20 oz) crushed pineapple (packed in juice)

Stir in all ingredients, then beat 1 minute. Pour into 9" x13" sprayed pyrex

Bake 30 minutes at 350 degrees
DO NOT ADD EXTRA WATER

Karen: I love the idea of giving a rose when people make goal. It will make it even more special. I think its a great touch.

I wish I could retire. But right now its not the time. We want to get some more money into savings so we are set before I do.
I plan on working in the yard this weekend. Hopefully it will be nice wether. Doesnt look like it today tho.

Hi Everybody We have to remember that Lily is one of the younger gals on our board. I think she is only 51???? :?: is that right Lily? These next years are the years which will give you more money for when you actually do retire and have to live on a fixed income, and Maui is very expensive. LOL :D So young-um keep at for a bit longer.......that's what I tell DH.
Talk to you all later.

LilyG
04-13-2001, 03:18 PM
Slavika: Yep just a baby thats me!
I wish..... Dont feel it some days. But your right 51 is correct. (shhhhhh. dont tell anyone tho.)
And I do need to save my pennies if Im going to retire in Maui. Thats my goal!

Lizziepie
04-13-2001, 03:52 PM
Lily: That's the same recipe for the angel cake. Try it with the strawberries sometime. Yummy!:) And you are just a kid. Could be my daughter, so this is the time to bring in the big bucks to build those Sepp Iras.

Slavika- You'll have to tell the 'orange lady' (if you ever see her again) to get he oranges in Florida. They are all thin skinned. Thanks for the entire recipe. I will try it. And have you ever doubled it with a an 18.5 oz. cake mix? I'd like to take a big one to the Luau.

Karen: I'd like to come to your meetings. Sounds like you have fun with your members. It is so important to identify with them. As the song says' A spoonful of sugar to make the medicine go down'

Peggy- Just got back from "The Holy Land Experience" Was wonderful. This is a permanent theme park, and they are adding to it all the time. We saw a dramatization of when Simon saw and identified Jesus on the temple steps. There is a replica of the Tabernacle of Moses time, with an explanation of the Holy of holies and the Mercy seat. There is an empty tomb and there was a drama about the Crucifixion and Easter morning. With music. The replica of Jerusalem is the city of 70ad before it was destroyed.
There is a presentation, about the city telling where everything was. Quite amazing.
I couldn't think of a nicer place to be on Good Friday. I had to use my Kleenex more than once. Can you tell I was moved and impressed? I think they change some of the presentations depending on the season.

Hope things continue to calm down in your city.
Time for a swim. I'm hot and tired. :o Ann

Hi everyone,

I have a cable internet service now. Already I can tell that I will love it. It stays on all the time so I don't have to fool with logging on and off etc. And it is soooooooo fast. [b]And the 'puter is downstairs. So, it will be a lot easier to check in with y'all and find out what is going on.

In case I don't get back for a day or 2 (the boys are here already), I hope everyone has a fine Easter weekend.

Has anyone heard from Josie, Donna, gAnne, or Silvergal? In case y'all are out there, drop in and say "hi".

Y'all will probably get tired of hearing from me now that it will be so easy. The junk I have been having to deal with for the last 3 months with the last 2 ISP's was just too much. I would end up being so frustrated.

' Hi Everybody

Karen that's a great idea to give the gals a rose when they make lifetime.....
The way you "talk" about your meetings, I think you must be a really good leader. :)
Peggy for the moment at least I see things are calmer in your city. I know the authorities are worried about the funeral tomorrow. I sure hope everything remains calm.
Lily never mind retiring in Maui, I am just hoping to continue going for holidays there.
Ann I haven't doubled the recipe but there isn't any reason why you couldn't. If you should make the cake the day before you serve it OR you have left overs don't cover the cake with plastic wrap. As I said, the cake is very moist and you don't want it to get yucky. I just "lay" a sheet of wax paper over it, leaving a part uncovered so some air gets in. :s:
Geri well hi there. Nice "seeing" you again. That's really nice that you are hooked up to cable now. We'll sure enjoy reading your posts again. :)
Maria I guess you are busy with family..enjoy them.
Trudy so my friend, did you find time to just relax today with your book?
"See" you all later.

My little darling just left a little while ago so I was just checking in. No wonder Lily is so good at this computer stuff. Being so young she still has brain cells left. Mine left a long time ago. I have to go pick up - they left in a hurry and there are some toys laying around. They were good - it was my dog who was a brat. Very jealous. Slavika you notice that Trudy didn't tell us what kind of lotions she bought and what they are used for. Welcome back Geri - happy that you are not getting so frustrated over isp's. Another quiet nite under curfew again. I know that I am staying in tomorrow. "See" you later, Peggy

 Hi gals...
Slavika... my DD played piano for the Good Friday service and after came home and had lunch with us. After she left I planned to read "Seat Of The Soul" by Gary Zuchov and the phone never stopped ringing. So between calls, and trips to the fridge  - I never read anything.
Peggy... every lotion I bought was to try and smooth my dried out skin. ...IF it ends up being sensuous, well that will be a bonus... I always live in hope. ;)
Geri... You are back and with cable ISP :) ... good, now you have no excuse for not posting... looking forward to hearing from you. We haven't heard from Josie, gAnne, Donna or Silvergal in a really long time. Hope they are all well.
Anne... the angel food cake with strawberries, what do you use for the liquid? Do you mean the box of frozen strawberries? I can vouch for the TROPICOLADA CAKE... it is really good. :)
Lily... I never realized you were so YOUNG. No wonder you aren't ready for retirement. Lucky for us your brain cells are still functioning, you can help us everytime we have trouble.

...ah yes, it was snowing this afternoon and now it is raining... a very gloomy, dreary day. Tomorrow my DD and I are spending the day together, going to shop and lunch and shop some more. If I don't get back here, I would like to wish all of you a Happy Easter.

Geri

Do kids like the tropicolada cake? I usually make an Easter bunny cake for Easter. But, that cake sounds so good and "legal" too. Any idea about the nutritional content? calories, fat grams, etc.

Karen, will you send me a silk rose if I ever get to goal? Don't rush out and buy it----it looks like you have plenty of time.

Karen L
04-13-2001, 11:47 PM
Peggy I hope all is quiet for you all weekend. Good that you are staying home .

As for being a good WW Leader it helps to have a enthusiast group of Losers. The more they interact the more you can and want to do to help. This group I have is very talkative and I love it. Means less talk from me then I get to get ideas and pass them on at the next place I work. It's a great system and there is always room for growth.

Lily are you still thinking of working for WW? I don't know about where you live but we are always looking for staff. :)

I was thinking about all the gal's that Geri mentioned and hope they look in from time to time. :) They were with us for quite a while. I also wonder about Silvergals GD and wonder if she was ever found. Does any one know??:?:

We haven't heard from Dee in awhile or did I just miss her post. How is she doingSlavika? Trudy ?

Ann the place you live in Florida sounds like my kind of place. We do want to retire to Florida as my husband was born in Tampa and lived there until he went into the army. I love the beaches on that side of the state.

Lily I love that angel food cake recipe so easy and so good. Easy being the operative word here.:)

Happy Easter every one

Hi Geri

I worked the points from the "Added Touch" cake mix I use, which is probably very much like any cake mix. It says:
1 serving = 1/8 of dry mix = 135 calories.
Fat = 3.3g

I realized when I was working out the calories and points for this post that I made the cake the way I posted the recipe but after I joined WW I cut back
a little on the topping.
The cake part works out like this:
Mix = 22 pts
1 egg = 2 pts
1 banana = 2 pts
tin of pineapple = 4
TOTAL = 30 pts. for the whole cake.

The other thing is I have never cut it into 8 pieces, usually 9 servings, 12 servings is just too small. I made the cake a couple of times when my grandchildren were over and they liked it. I put ice cream on it for them...and trust me you put ice cream on anything and and kids will eat it. LOL :D

I suppose you could leave the topping off altogether to count lower points and use coolwhip but the topping is what makes the cake special. Hope this helps.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE

Trudy- To make the angelfood cake with strawberries, use the frozen strawberries, thawed, of course. It just has to equal the 20 oz. from the original pineapple one. There is enough juice from the berries to work fine. I get berries in 10oz bags, so use two of them. Just use your own judgement. But you want the no sugar berries. I've been going to experiment with frozen raspberries but haven't done it yet. Will let you know when I do if it is any good.I have also done it with one small can of crushed pineapple and one can of mandarin oranges.Good, too.

Karen- You are right- This is a good place to retire. Of course we didn't know, until after we got here that it is the lightning capital of the world. But the weather makes up for that. I don't plan to ever have to drive in ice and snow again.

Slavika- I'm with you-the cake would be just a cake without the topping. I think you must be a very good cook. I'd like to drop in for tea time. I'm going to use your Hawaiian Punch recipe. That looks about as close to all the Mai tai recipes I've read. Probably, unless there is a real Mai Tai connoisseur, no one will know the difference.:smug:

He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!

where is everybody today? I bought the stuff for the tropicolada cake. Couldn't get the little cake mix. Had to get a regular. Guess I will just have to make a big cake. So sad!

Where is the smilies legend now? Used to be right here in the reply screen before all the changes. I don't know where to go look for it. Do I have to leave the post reply screen to view the smilies?

In case I don't get back till after Easter, I hope everyone has a blessed and happy Easter.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYBODY

I want to wish all of you and your families a very Happy and Peaceful Easter. :)
I'll come back and visit in the evening.

slavika

 Hi Everybody I came back this evening and here I am all by myself....how pitiful is that? :(
I had a great Easter. I went to 11:00 service at my church and along with the communion the little altar boys were handing out Easter eggs. SO...I had to have one.:s:
When I got home I got that 18lb. turkey into the oven, and then did all the other things to get ready for my dinner.
In the Feb/Mar issue of "Taste of Home" magazine there is a recipe for a Orange Chip Cheesecake that is almost exactly the same as the mini cheesecake recipe I gave you guys. I made it forEaster. You make a chocolate crumb crust and the filling is the same (it called for orange extract but I used vanilla). You bake it, then when it comes out of the oven you put 1-1/2 cups sour cream with 2 tbsp of sugar on top of the cooked cheesecake and put it back in the oven for 5 min. Cool the cheesecake then put mandarin orange slices all around the the outside of the pie (like petals) and then in the center put mini chocolate chips. Ohhh...it looked so pretty and spring like....very nice recipe. :)
Our little grandson loved his Easter presents especially his new "gameboy " cartridge and the Princess loved her new little beanie baby and the new, "102 Dalmations" movie. I had saved some nuts from Christmas so even my little squirrel "Sammy" had lots of treats. :)
I tried not to over eat, but even having just a little of each thing worked out to a lot of points.
Well, I guess I will say good night and I hope all of you had a really special day. "Talk" to you tomorrow.

Lizziepie

Good morning everyone-
Slavika- I made the cake yesterday and it is wonderful. Just one problem, I won't be able to make it very often because it is a great temptation to me. I could eat the whole thing all by mself.:nono: I can tell you enjoy cooking. Me too. The big problem is also enjoying the eating:D

I would like a 'sexy' black dress too. But I'm one of those pear-shaped people and when it fits on the top it is too tight on the bottom.Thank goodness for separates.Every now and then I can find a dress that is cut for my type figure. It doesn't matter how the sizes go down my general shape stays the same. Oh well  such is life.

Now the holiday is over, must get back on track.Does anyone else ever get tired of counting points and writing journals?
As far as I can tell most of the similies are the word you want with a colon before and after. Only a few have some other sign in the center of the colon. Like big grin is a colon and then Capital letter D.smile is a colon and right parentheses. Hope that helps a little.

Have a great day. See you later. Ann

Good Morning, I hope that you all had a nice Easter. Our weather was not so nice - rainy - but otherwise it was a nice day. Went to brunch at a nieces. I took fruit. I really wanted a donut but I didn't take one. The kids came over later with the granddogs. Slavika the cheesecake sounds good. Ann I am always tired of all the dieting stuff but if I want to lose I have to do it - probably forever. I am going to try to lose 5 lbs by Mother's Day. Just checking in - Peggy

It is surprising how many places were closed today. The gym was open, so I did my workout. It had been 4 days and I was getting stiff and sore. It was really cold outside today, not too nice.

I have a peeve.... why do "they" change the products we like? :?: My family likes 7-Up as a mix, well yesterday the drinks were tasting odd because now 7-Up is new and improved. I went to buy a new pair of jeans. I have been buying Liz Claibourne for years, well they have changed the styles again. They have a lowered waistband & slightly flared legs in a stretch fabric. Not at all flattering for a "pear shape" or anyone else my age. Ivory changed their dish detergent and I can't stand the new fragrance. Has anyone else noticed things like this or am I just getting old and cranky? :dizzy:

Counting points isn't bothering me too much this time around. I have come to the realization that it has to be a way of life for me. When I don't count... I gain.... simple as that. It's not fair, but it is a fact.

Well Slavika tomorrow is our WW meeting ~ have you heard whether or not all the gals are going? I will be there..... I guess.... you might hear a loud scream.

Talk to you all tomorrow.... good night....

Trudy_ you are not old and cranky--just observant.:smug: And have you noticed that you still pay the same or more for coffee, but the weight has changed, and what used to be a pound is now only 12 or 13 oz.
And you are right of course, if I don't keep track, I gain, and I know it is a way of life, but just have to whine a little.;)

Just finally got a picture on the web of the new grandbaby. What a cutie. Won' get to see her in person until June.

Time to catch some zzzz's :dz: Ann

The story of my life-----a dollar short and a day late. I finally have the ability to go online at the drop of a hat and nobody is posting! grrrrrrrrrrrr

Maybe somebody will show up eventually. I shouldn't say nobody-----I should say not very many.

My "sexy" black dress is very flattering for a pear. I am a definite pear. Usually am at least 1 and quite frequently 2 sizes larger on the bottom. If you see me sitting, I don't look half bad. Then when I stand and you get the "full" picture, this formerly thin woman is now a short little butterball. You feel real stupid when you ask for a size 10 top and size 14 slacks. Occasionally I can find a dress that will accomodate this shape. It has to be cut small on top and big on bottom without a real defined waist. The dress I got Saturday meets all these criteria + 1 more---it looks good on me. I think everybody at church told me how nice I looked yesterday. I threatened to never take it off. Seldom have I been this happy with a new dress. I guess because I rarely find a dress that looks good on my small upper body and "generous" lower half.

Geri- Isn't it nice to know there are other pears out there. We are not alone.Blue is my color, and I bought a nice two piece outfit, blue with a pretty beaded effect on the blouse. I got lots of compliments too, and it does make one feel good, when you have to keep struggling to lose another pound or two.
Now I'm really going to bed. Ann
