I saw the WLC finale last week. It was wonderful how great they all looked. I felt sad at the same time too. Because I had started watching it from the beginning, if I had followed it too I would have been feeling and looking the same too. In the 9 months they dealt with their emotional issues, learn about exercising and eating right. Also, I could see all their self esteem had gotten so much better.
This is my first time here on the Fat Chicks web site and my first time posting.

Hi and welcome. Don't beat yourself up that you aren't where they are at now. You've made it here and started posting. Just keep on going and before long, you can say you too made it through.

Hi Suzy
I know exactly how you feel. I too watched the show very faithfully and really did not make much of an effort. I really want to start so I can lose this weight once and for all!

I also have been watching and am in the same place I was when it all started. I remember on one show, maybe unrelated to the challenge Dr. Phil told someone, the year is going to go by whether you do anything about your weight or not.....I've picked up the book again to get the concepts back in my head.
You also have to remember the challengers while being opened up on TV, had a gym membership and a whole lot of motivation that we don't get out here in the world. Did you catch some of the prizes they received!
Have a great day

We all have to be very careful. We must not beat ourselves up about not being where the WLC people are. I have only lost 9 pounds since March. But I have learned a lot along the way, and I feel like I am on the right track. It isn't about how quickly we do this. It is about changing our lifestyles from something self-destructive into something healthy and fulfilling. Yes, I felt like sh*t too when I saw the dramatic changes in those people...and it almost made me give up completely. NO!!! WE CAN'T DO THAT!!! Don't compare yourself to them. Do your best every day...one day at a time. Take baby steps to be more healthy and turn them into lifetime habits. One habit I have now is exercising every morning before I do anything else (except pee!). I pick something engrossing to read, and before I know it, my 30 minutes on the bike are over. I've actually come to look forward to it. I've always taken two days off because I have bad knees. Well, today, I just couldn't resist riding the bike, and my knee is now killing me! I have always despised exercise, but because I combined something I love (reading) with it, I now look forward to it. So, I'm gonna go ice my knee, and I will take a break tomorrow. On that note, DO NOT GET DISCOURAGED!!! YOU CAN DO THIS!!! YOU WILL DO THIS!!!
