hi,

i have aqustion for a friend of mine.
she' small on top and larger below, not over weight but over fat with cellulite.
she's afraid that if she works out she will lose breast size and not be able to slim down hips and thighs enough for it to be worth it. also doesn't want her legs to get too muscular. so she's in a quandry.

any advice? thanks

Ok , I'll go first....

Firstly "cellulite" is fat plain and simple... IMHO you must do the trinity:
1. Eat clean, by this I mean, eat a low fat, low carb as unprocessed as possible LIFESTYLE...
2. Weight train, with intensity....to firstly, make more muscle to burn more fat ... the wonderful thing about muscle and weight training is that you can sculpt your upper body and lower body to be more symetrical ... Like making your back wider to make your waist look smaller and hips in proportion. 3-4 times/week...
3. Cardio, HIIT, High Intensity Interval Training... You don't have to do an hour or two of cardio, just do it intently for 30-45 minutes 3-4 time/week.....

Just my 2 cents....

NEXT!!!! :smug:

My thoughts..... I agree with everything Ilene said, plus:

If she's small on top, she probably doesn't have much fat to lose in her breasts. So, anything she loses will most likely come from the areas where the fat has settled. She may get a bit smaller on top temporarily, but after she's lost some fat, the remaining will redistribute itself and she'll fill back out.

For example, my face, hands and feet get quite thin when I've finally lost some fat again, but after about a month they fill back out to "normal", and I'll drop a pants size.

As for her legs getting too muscular - it won't happen. I'm very muscle-bound in general, and I've TRIED to make my legs look muscular, and it's just not happening. It's the woman thing - with out the testosterone we're not going to look that muscular unless we starve ourselves down to a ridiculously low body fat level - as body builders and figure competitors do.
