4 pages ... Time for a new thread.

I found the silver patches on the internet ... they are $179 for a box of 12. You don't need a prescription to get them so the insurance is not going to help with those! What a surprise!!!

If I can get my Dr. to get me some numbing gel, I'll just get me a scalpel and take care of this stupid thing myself and cut out the middle man!!! I can do just as good a job as they do and probably not hurt myself as much!

Yikes Meme, now you are becoming a surgeon. I guess you could do ok at it, as long as you watch for infection, which you have to do anyway. Are you still taking Collidal Silver? Is it helping?

Joanne, what did you do to your neck? Take a couple of tennis balls, put them in a sock, and then lay on them. Roll them up and down the neck and into the shoulders and see if that helps. Sometimes it is just enough to release the trigger point.

Mima - glad you found a computer around. That is great.

All you guys with rain, send some our way. No rain and it will be yet ANOTHER dry year. We desperatley need rain. Lots of wind, which doesn't help matters any.

Not much going on with me. Started on the Glycemic way of eating but then went to Edmonton for 3 days and there went that. It is very hard to be on a specific eating plan when visiting. Lots of eating out, eating junk, and just plain eating. Put all that with NO willpower and boy - you have ME

Oh Well! today is another day.

No, I stopped taking the silver when I found out it will turn your skin grey!

Meme- Be careful with buying medication on the net. I have heard a lot of not so good things about them. It is strange that the Dr.'s have gotten their noses so far in the sky that they are unable to treat " whatever " needs to be treated. My daughter has the same problem in North Fl. as well as my brother out in AZ. She has to drive 60 miles for treatment with a Dr. and he sometimes has to go 80 miles. I would be inclined to search the net for a treatment that you can do at home. Hope you get some help with this. I used to do wound care when I was working. It is amazing some of the things we used to do. Using home remedies.
Happy. Now that might work if I had some golf balls in this house. I have a vibrating mattress that I might could unfold and try. Heat helps sometimes..As I said ,this too will pass.. Praise God for Darvocet n 100..
We heed rain bad too. They say another 2 weeks before the rainy season..When I see it, I'll say we got it..

It poured here tonight!

What I'm buying from the internet isn't really medicine. I DID find something I can do at home, though. It is the silver patches that you put on the wound and it is even made by the same company that makes the ones the wound care clinic uses ... the exact same thing. Then on another site I found some lanicane to numb it with so that I can clean it myself with the scalpels I found on yet another site (OUCH). Maybe I should have been a doctor! (Sometimes I scare myself.) ;)

Meme, you seem to have everything under control. Perhaps we need to change your name to DR. Meme  Seriously, I don't know how you will be able to do this. I sure couldn't, but then, I am a big chicken.

Joanne - I hope your neck is feeling better today. If not, perhaps you need to go the Dr. and get some PTherapy in order. I don't think you go to the chiro., but if you do, perhaps a trip to see him will help you out.

Oh Candice, Ally and Anagram - where are you?

Right here, Happy. Popping in to lurk from time to time but hectic here as it seems always to be. Had a cyst removed from just above braline (for the sixth or seventh time over the years). Two shots of numbing stuff and this time it didn't work. My nervous system was on HIGH the rest of that day. But no stitches this time so little discomfort. Had a better day yesterday and take bandage off today. go back Tuesday.

And dh is being set up for colonoscopy which means conferring with most of his doctors. Looks like they're working it out he won't need to be hospitalized for it. But I'll have to be giving him shots of blood thinner in the tum-tum again.

Which all sounds like nothing compared with Meme's situation - and I do agree with Joanne about everything becoming a "specialty" in medicine anymore. I'm fortunate enough to live close to lots of specialists but know the inconvenience of having to travel a lot for treatment because my parents had to. Even when my Dad was very ill, he'd drive halfway and I'd drive up and bring him the rest of the way. Of course when he got that he couldn't even do that, someone in the family would drive up and bring him down for radiation and then someone else would drive him back home. Of course, he wouldn't let any of the people in his town who volunteered do it. It had to be "family".

Anyway, you're brave to try all that but then you're also the one suffering with the wound, Meme. And you know when to stop hurting you which someone else doesn't.

Been fairly good recently. And did 3 hours of yardwork yesterday - which is why I'm doing nothing so far today.

Have a great weekend, all.

Meme- I am a nurse and I would not have the nerve to take a scapel to myself..
Happy- Still the neck problem.. I may have to go to Dr. The weekend to make up my mind.
Mima.. Enjoy the weekend.. TOPS had a surprise for me . I made KOPS so they had a surpise for me with gifts. I was sorta stunned. It was really nice of them. Weight Watchers does nothing like that. We have a nice group at TOPS.
My monitor seems to have a hiccup. Picture squeezed down and up. I guess a new one is in the picture. Just happened yesterday. Always something to upset me. If by chance you see me gone it will be that. But ,I will be back..
Dental appt today. I always hate that.
Anagram.. It is strange how our parents wanted us to do for them in all things. I guess they don't want anyone else to know that they had to give up their independence. I am now going through a lot of explaining about most everything with my hubby. He seems to get confused a lot and finds a lot of things hard to understand. Otherwise he is pretty healthy. I guess it is just one more thing in life to deal with..
Have a great weekend everybody...Joanne

We made it ... had a good trip up. The hotel is old but really nice, big rooms and right on the creek, sounds wonderful. Wish ALL of you were here, too ... we'd have a ball ... all of us in Gatlinburg at the same time ... can you imagine it??? :dizzy:

Gotta tell you something funny that happened with my friend. We were on the road and she called me and said, "You bad, bad girl." I said, "Me, I'm not bad, what did I do?" She said I had sent her some PORN. I said I DID NOT! She said I sent her a joke and at the bottom of it in fine print there was a link and when her husband clicked on it, it went to a page with viberators, dildos and girls 'doing it' to themselves! She was cracking up. She said she was in another room and he yelled that I had sent her an email and then in a minute as she walked in the room he said, "Oh, noooo maybe she DIDN'T send you an email. I doubt that this came from HER." She said, "Well, let me see it." Then she just stood there and laughed and laughed. THEN, she told me he started clicking on the thumbnails and looking at the pictures!!! I couldn't believe he did that ... I go to church with these people! I told her I didn't know that was there, I didn't click it & my daughter sent me the joke and I'm sure she didn't know it was on there, either. I also told her I was going to start calling Randy the Porn Peeper! Then I sent them an email and told them we were here and I wish they were, too, but I guess Randy would rather be home doing 'you know what'!!! ;)

Joanne D
05-28-2004, 08:07 PM
Meme- I wonder how much it cost Randy to watch /click on those porn pictures. I heard it was something like 4 bucks a min. I would brain my hubby if I caught him doing that. Then hand him the bill.
I have been to Gatlinburg a couple times . It is a fun place..Have a good time. Joanne

Oh Meme-you know I wish we were there-this will be great for you. I need something spiritual too. Work work work. And my daughter is coming over today to use the computer to write a paper and Brad;s son is coming sometime this weekend with his new girlfriend and her 3 unruly kids-I heard they were unruly through someone else-course being a teacher I have the evil eye-but I need to do something nice and that doesn't do it. Plus my hormones are still out of whack. Trying the stronger dose of prempro. Good news-I didn't get IBS this week-I did a breathing exercise all day long where I took a breath in while I pushed my stomache out-its yoga-and I was good. That;s a break-probably only have 3 more days of work-no more 3 weeks-won't do it again. Joanne, that's so great about your surprise. I haven't gone back to TOPS but they did call me and I lost the phone number to call her back. Bye for now. Mima

Mowed today and banged my head on the birdhouse hanging from a tree I went under...OUCH!

Been looking through my cookie and bar recipes and trying to decide what to make for my son who
is coming home for a week....a coconut wafer sounds good to me but then I do not want to eat a lot either! He likes chocolate chip but so do I .... Well I decided to make the coconut, yum but a of of work! Got a fruit salad made for him too, he just loves that and so do DH and I, Oh DS is here now..........

My tomatoes are in and have blooms but we are getting storms again tomorrow so I had to drag all my pots into the garage again, just can't keep doing this..my arms are really bad from the lifting. Also the dishwasher door is broken, the spring that lets it go down and it just falls now so you have to hang onto it and it hit may bad arm the other day and it's all kinds of colors!!!!!!!!! That door is very heavy too!!!!!!!!

Do any of you know about birds? We have a robin that builds a nest buy our back door every year and I found some eggs in the yard after the last storm and put them in her nest and she is sitting on 6 eggs now, do think they will hatch and how long does it take?

Meme, maybe I should send my son to come practice on you! He loved cutting on the cadavers!!!!!!!!!!:D

It always takes me days to get over yard work too. But I love plants, Have to go to 2 cemeteries today. I have been getting hot flashes and getting so depressed/ I upped the hormones to .45 but I don't know if it's worth it to go off my regular dose. Doc says it's in the first 5 years that women have problems and I have been on them for 15. suppose it wasn't a good idea to do this when working because I get tired, We will see. I have felt so good on them for so long. Any advice? Mima

Hi ladies.

Candice - I hope you are feeling less fatigued today. Boy, I have had more than my share of this the past couple of months. Just wish it would go away. It is far worse than any pain. I hate walking around like a zombie. I get fatigue but when I lay down, I can't sleep. Makes me mad.

Hope you saved the cookies for your son  I know you are the cookie monster.

Meme - glad you are having fun weekend and that the concert was good. Just enjoy yourself. It seems like a long time since that has happened. So, before you become a surgeon, I am glad you get a brake.

Mima - I'll bet you are tired. Those gals got you up and moving anyway:lol Hope the IBS stays away, as you usually get that flaring up when you are working. I guess you were having a busy weekend.

Anagram - you are busy as usual. Hope you are feeling better. Hope everything goes well with your hubby. That must be a constant worry for you.

Joanne - I hope you are feeling better. We finally got rain, a whole inch. Well, every little bit helps. It is so terribly dry. Hope and pray for more.

Well, aside from the fatigue and sore hands and feet, for whatever reason, I am not doing to badly. Didn't do much this weekend and that was find with me. It was not much fun walking with these sore places on the bottom of my feet.

Hope you all have a good evening.

Mima

Oh Happy, I hope you feel better soon. Last night, I woke up with night sweats-the first time since lowering the prempro dose-things are getting worse and I am on 3/4 of the dose, not one half . I did eat some soy cereal today to see if it will help. It also has a lot of fiber. It's going to be a beautiful day today. We are going to the parade-it lasts about 10 minutes. They have to wait for the high school band to come back from the other town. Only 3 days of work left. I am still tired. Bye for now Mima

Joanne D

Happy- I too hope you are feeling better. My neck seems to hurt worse in the evening. I am pretty sure it is just oa kicking up and I doubt there is much that can be done about that.
Mima- Eating out seems to be the trigger for my IBS. We never know what is in the foods. Surely fat and salt. Soy is really good for us,but, it does cause gas. That is another trigger for IBS. I eat it anyhow. I am 71 and still get the hot flashes. I can't take any harmones . I have a clotting problem.I threw a clot in my 30's and was lucky. It was really large and lodged in my lung. I had pain for years before a smart Dr. discovered it . I lost 1/3 of my right lung. He said I must have a angel on my shoulder.
Candice- I ate 3 cookies(really cheap cookies) yesterday. I went back later and checked the points. 5 points!!!I just stayed within my quota for the day instead of under.. I don't know how you do it. We are cooking out tonight so I will have to be careful all day. Steak and salad for supper for me.
Anagram- I hope things are going well for you and your hubby,
Meme- You must be having a good time today.
Hello Ally..How are you?

I'm home! What a weekend. We had a concert Friday night, singing and then a speech by Zig Zigler Saturday morning (Stress 101), another concert Saturday night, singing and another speech by Zig Sunday morning and another concert Sunday night. Shopping in between - got silver charms (to go on a beautiful silver chain hubby bought me for my BD) and silver hoop earrings. Hubby bought me one gold chain and I bought another - then because I bought 2 I got one free! They are soooo pretty! Gold in Gatlinburg is 50% off and you buy it by the inch ... then they cut it and make the necklace the size you want it. Then, I also bought some clothes at the Liz Claiborne Outlet and some glass stuff at the Old Time Pottery Barn.

I talked to Anthony Burger - bought some of his books and CDs to use in teaching ... he signed one of his piano books for me. He's sooo good, if you've never heard him play you've missed something really special. He plays for the Gaither's. They also use his music for flight music on a lot of the airplanes. He's fabulous. Sheri Easter also signed a Sound Track I sing. I sing quite a few of her songs. She recommended one of her new ones I had not heard to me ... said it would 'stick in my head.' I told her ALL her music 'stuck' in my head! I bought it. I bought 3 of her sound tracks. I have to sing at a conference in 3 weeks and 2 of the songs I'm doing are songs she wrote! I also bought a book Gloria Gaither wrote and she wrote TO (me) in it and said Keep the 'music' and your 'friends' and signed it! Then she hugged me!

Some of the singers included The Gaithers (of course), The Booth Brothers, The Florida Boys, Joy Gardner, The Hoppers, Isaacs, Amy Lambert, Signature Sound, Ben Speer, Lynda Randle, David Phelps Jessy Dixon, and (my personal favorites) Jeff and Sheri Easter. There were more.

Put all that together with a peaceful place to stay and wonderful places to eat and you have a great weekend!

I'M SOOOOOO TIRED!

Mima

Brad is in love with Linda Randle and I am in love with David Phelps. I am so glad you experienced that Meme-you sure needed it. And Anthony is just incredible. Our whole cd collection is filled with the Gaithers. Back at work for 3 days-yeah!!! Feel pretty good today=I hope and pray my body goes through the adjustment quickly-or I'm going back on the higher dose. Of hormones . Gotta go take my pills. Oh yeah-word has it that Brad's son proposed to a girl with 3 kids. Not a good situation. Pray for him and us. Mima

Mima- I used to watch the Gaithers on TV. They were on on Sat.night right after the Opry .
My son is still with us. He has been moving slowly. Maybe by the weekend he will get all his stuff to the house he bought. I hope the scale says the same thing tomorrow that it said this morning. It is so fickle. I went to his place last night and got in the hot tub for awhile. My first time in one. It came with his house. I am not sure but I might have to try it again.
Meme- Sounds like a great time you had. The beach is my favorite place to go. We keep saying we will go foe a few days. Maybe we will make it.

Sounds like a great weekend, Meme.

A hot tub in the family! 'ray for you, Joanne. You just might get accustomed to that.

Hope the rumored engagement is going ok, Mima. And don't you love the pics of that little one. Two months old now, right?

Still doing Candice - that's lot of yard work not the cookie baking Candice. Over all, sleeping better these days which means feeling better.

You're on target there, Happy, re constand worry over dh. But he is overall improving and doing better since we had the heat. Doing yardwork, building some muscle, always has been happier outdoors. I'll be giving him shots of bloodthinner in the tumtum again so he can have a colonoscopy later this month.

Lost about two pounds total in May. Really hard work as far as I'm concerned and always the up and down on the scale so you can never say for sure.

Going to a picnic today, weather looks nice. Going to be tempted sorely because always a wide variety of good food, esp. desserts. Usually see a lot of people I don't see much elsewhere anymore so that part should be good.

Off to weed and mulch one more patch before I shower. Hopefully I can finish this part up today.

The robin is still sitting on the eggs.......

I found my strawberry pizza recipe and made two of them, but I used splenda and FF cream cheese so the pts were not too bad. Just made some 8 pt brownies for my friends tomorrow I am meeting for supper ( we are celebrating our BD's form last spring). Ds is gone for the weekend and will be back Monday and then off to school again so my cooking will get back to normal.

Still helping dH mow, the riding mower is easier but it still makes me hurt with all the bumping in our lumpy yard:eek:

We have hail damage to our car form the last batch of storms, baseball size hail!!!!! Suppose to get more Sunday...I can't stand all these storms and running to the basement all the time. So far I have been able to get all my pots int he garage but that is taking it's toll on me, they are too heavy!!!!!!!!!!!!! My lettuce has hail damge too but we are still eating it! We finally got 2 inces of rain out of the last front.

Hope you gals get to feeling better, DH and I walked tonight for the first time this year, it is not agreeing with my hips! Poop!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I made banana cake yesterday. I ate one piece. My hubby and son can eat the rest. I made it because I didn't want to throw away the over ripe bananas. What a excuse! It is true though.

Hi.

Mima - Yes, if the water is too cold, it can do more harm than good. Aquasize is ok, as you warm those muscles up by moving. Warm water isn't as good for that as you get way to hot.

Joanne- good for you losing 2 more pounds. That must make you feel so good.

Candice - Sorry you are having so much pain. You have to learn to treat yourself better. Get your hubby to move those heavy things. The weather sure is different this year. Terrible winds and so far we have only had a bit of rain. Enjoy your birthday bash.

Anagram - hope you enjoyed your picnic.

Hi Meme - hope you are getting all rested up after your weekend away.

everybody have a good day.

Joanne D

Happy- Yes it does feel good to lose but when I turn around and eat KFC it just ruins it all. I just don't have the resistance I should have. I guess that is part of being human. About once a month I just crave it. We eat a lot of chicken and fish. sometimes/rarely beef or pork, but ,I still want the f/chicken at times. I will just have to be good the rest of the week.I wonder if my body just craves the fats I don't usually eat.
Mima- I can't take the cold water either. My daughter has a large pool. Ever since she put the screen inclosure on,I haven't been able to go in for any length of time. It reduces the temperature quiet a bit.It makes my legs hurt.
I walked today. On the Treadmill . It is too hot now to walk outside. I miss walking to the beach. I just might have to drag my hubby to the beach now and then .. He really likes that rocker too much..
Bye..Joanne

Wish I could swim (but not in cold water - yuck). Still can't get my ankle wet! :(

I'm thinking about trying Oxycise again ... only a little less intense this time. Every time I try that I pull a muscle somewhere! I think I stretch too far or something! I need to do something, I've lost so much weight I'm beginning to get flabby. :o I told hubby the other night my butt is looking wrinkly! He was nice and said no it isn't, it's looking good! I mooned him. ;) I've lost 25 pounds. I bet I don't lose any THIS week! We went to Nick's and ate tonight. (It's a fancy hilltop restaurant here.) It was our friend's anniversary so some of us took them out to celebrate and split the bill. I had salad, BBQ chicken and pork, baked potato and then half a piece of ice-cream pie topped with chocolate. Talk about being stuffed! Of course, I couldn't eat all my food (never do). Hubby ordered fish and I told him that wouldn't make all he'd want to eat so he said, "so ... I'll eat what you leave, you never eat all your food!" And he's right. I order what I want and usually wind up eating only about half of it.

Candice, put those plants on rollers!!!

Joanne, I would have thrown the bananas out. :p Easier, cheaper and less tempting.

Hi guys-so glad to be home. Went to eat last night-niot that I haven't eaten out every night-but it was a real meal-baked haddock-salad-potato. I cannot get on the scale yet because of last week. Joanne, I did the same thing at TOPS-lost more after I reached goal. Then I stayed under for a long time. I was fine til I went to work but I know I have gained a couple of pounds. The next 3 weeks are going to be challenging-getting the stuff out of Brad;s mom's house-we are getting a gorgeous dining table and chairs, getting the condo ready for the open house-getting the weeding crosstitch done-and lots more. But one day at a time. At least no yard work because it's going to get dug up so I can't plant anymore. I guess I shouldn't worry that the house is dirty. Brad is cleaning up his stuff-absolutely amazing. I have got to stop eating wheat-I am wheezy. My own fault. Bye for now Mima

I reread my post-wedding crosstitch-had a great time yesterday-woke up wheezing-too much wheat I think-went to use inhaler-outdated-called doc-called in a prescripyion for 2 inhalers, one they don't make anymore=got one and used it-heart raced and hands shook for one hour-called pharmacist and got a different one that worked fine-I only get this problem a couple of time a year-only a little wheezing so far today. I have gotton back to my litle routine of yoga, pilates and tai chi, (just a few moves form each to get me going) and of cousre my stretching and yard work. Did walk outside on Saturday but the hip hurting thing again, so my walking is not going well.

I sat on the floor for hours last night indian style cleaning out the video cabinet (had to look at the tapes I did not have marked). Found some of my old exercise tapes too. Never liked that Jane Fonda one So my back is pretty sore today........so I went out and trimmed all the bushes! Ha!!!!!!!!!

DS is back ond off again Tuesday so things will get back to normal here.

My lilles are having problems, not sure what it is, wind maybe or a fungus? The buds are not opening, just rotting and the leaves are turning yellow????????? I was moving my two big pots of flowers and one fell over, not sure if it will make it or not, broke some of the plants:( I think I'm repeating myself!)

Good morning-went to a Chinese restaurant where Brad looked at the air system and we got free food, I was glad to get my hot and sour soup for my sinuses, Still wheezing a little-I think it's allergies. Going for a massage today-going to stop at the condo and the lawyers to pick up papers. Got the new chairs yesterday-beautiful. Son says he might come up in July!!! He'd better bring that baby. I am also getting a washing machine form Brad's brother who is taking his mother's . Mine has one temp setting and one water level setting. Yikes. Bye for now. Mima

Have three decent days in but not enough water.Going to be awfully hot the next couple of day so maybe that will help me up that. Still swollen and it should help that a bit too. Have not been to pool waiting for minor surgery to fully heal but it's looking good so maybe will try it tomorrow. That always helps with leg swelling. Busy couple of weeks coming up - lots of eating out (not that I don't love that but y'all know the salt thing involved there even if you make good choices). Will be having bloodwork Thursday - am going to complain lots about fatigue and all sorts of stuff during dr. visit. Not that I expect much to come of it but sometimes it helps just to complain. Don't think my Synthroid is working real well. Still not fully recovered RA wise from the brutal yardwork last week and have so much more to do. Fell asleep last evening and never got any energy back to go out and do anything after nap.

But this is another day. Maybe I'll perk up once I turn the a/c on - going to need it.
Fun, ladies.

Hi again ladies :coffee: I have been here before then left for a while. The FMS got the better of me and I spent the entire drive home from work a couple of weeks ago in tears from the pain, decided I better get off my a** and do something for myself since the docs don't seem to help, so went back on lc, having trouble sticking with, am off to Curves in a little bit. :dizzy: My hip is killing me lately. I stand up and I have to just stand there for a few before I can take a step. I am having so much trouble dealing with this that I started with a therapist a few weeks ago to help me. I really like her.

What happened to my normal life and my normal weight? I feel like some kind of cow now. I would like to lose at least 20 lbs. before our family reunion at the end of July. I am so close to 300 that is scares me. I have lost 3 lbs. even with my bumbling around. :blah: :blah: :blah:

Mima, I saw on another thread where you thought maybe you had a bug since this has hung on for so long. Hope you are feeling better real soon.

 everyone else.

Hello All. Sorry my visits are so infrequent. Still doing this from work. I missed something about Meme doing surgery on herself? I was just quickly reading through.... That sounds interesting! And meme, how is my favorite little hyper kid, Ross?? My two are home with me and driving me CRAZY :dizzy: One of them needs to borrow my car and this makes me have to walk on pavement at night instead of on the trails I like. Kids. And I have a 30 year reunion in July. Need to lose 20 pounds by then. :o
What is funny is that the girls I envied so much in high school were definitely at their peak back then. Even if they have kept themselves looking good, they don't look at good as they did back then. I think I look better
Will try to keep in touch. Hot weather here in NY. Had to get an air conditioner.

Hi to all of you running for airconditioning  Sure not me, I am looking for heat. The sun has NOT come out today, and it is only in the 50's brrrrr.

Ally - nice to see you drop in. I am not sure I wold let my car out my site in this day and age and the cost of insurance. I know they probably couldn't drive if they weren't on yours. It is some outrageous prices they have now. I am surprised that so many are still able to pay for it.

Bunnababy - welcome back. I was wondering how curves is for FM. I also have low back problems and was wondering just how much you have to use it doing the machines they have. Would love to give it a try. Hope you do well on the LCarb diet. It can be tricky to stick to, but it sure does work.

Mima - free food is always nice! Glad you got your Hot and Sour soup. Never have tasted it as I don't eat Chinese Food very often. It always upsets my stomach, even without the MSG. I must have missed something. What are the new chairs for? You son had BETTER bring that baby with him.

Anagram - Sounds like you are not feeling so great. Hope you have better days ahead.

Candice - Give that hubby of yours a good swift kick in the butt and tell him to move it!! He NEEDS to help you out. I don't know how you are able to do what you do. Gosh, Candice, if I sat on the floor indian style, I would NEVER get my self up again

Joanne - hope things are going well for you. Have you been walking outside now, or still on the treadmill? Whatever, good for you. I have been using the stairs instead of the elevator. We live on the 3rd floor. Also, at the park on Saturday, my little GD wanted to climb a huge hill. I did it and boy I was breathless by the time I got to the top. At the top is a lookout over the city, so it was a fairly lengthy hill. Going down was easy.

Meme - where are you? Have you been practicing surgery on yourself? Come talk to us.

Well, haven't been doing too much. Just the usual things, like housework etc. My daughter and GD were here on the weekend, and this weekend, my son is coming. I will be getting my haircut on Thursday as well, so that will be good.

Hope everybody is having a good day.

Hi guys-the new chairs are from my MIL's house which has been sold-the table is coming today along with a rug and I will get a new washer as BIL is taking the washer and dryer from MIL's house. It will close on June 23 . Went to condo yesterday and carpenter was busily working. We are planning a camper trip to Ascuteny VT the week before the 4th. Hope we can get reservations because it will be relaxing. I'm not sure Curves is goo d for Fibro. I tore my rotator cuff doing Yoga, Myself, I like walking , swimming, and Tai Chi. Not that I do enough of them. Gotta go finish cleaning the trailer as we are letting people that do the RElay for Life Cancer walk use it. Othe BIL is coming tomorrow am to take it to the site. Bye for now Mima-hope you feel better Anagram . Hi Ally. and everyone else.Candice, Anne, Joanne, Meme, Bunnababy, Rita. Hope I didn't forget anyone.

Happy- I am still walking, but, on the treadmill. It is just too hot to walk 3 miles outside. I used to do it ,but, can't seem to do it anymore. I didn't walk yesterday. between the pain in my legs and neck ,I decided to take a day off. Stairs are good exercise areas. My 3 steps into the house won't be enough. Although I could use them like a stairstepper.
I thought my son was moving, now, he is buying another house near the gulf. He will rent the other two. He has been real good this time here. I don't mind being crowded a little while longer. Our daughter coming for a few days. I will be glad to see her. We do a lot together. I really enjoy her company.
Mima -We have curves here in town. I don't care for spas. I just lost a lot of money joining and not being faithful to them-I don't find them relaxing.
Ally- They always come home. The boys at least. You can lose that weight. Do the South Beach for a couple weeks,It works.
Hello everybosy.. Take a hour each day for yourselves. You deserve it...Joanne

I'm here ... ALLY ... good to 'see' you! Ross is about the same ... good days and bad days. I have Jenna (his 5 yr. old sister) right now. From Tues. to Fri. My Daughter is in Reno for a few days on business and her hubby can't handle them both for that long! ;)

Talking about exercise ... I'm doing the music for bible school this year and the whole theme is exercising (Power Up). It's about to wear me out just learning the songs and the motions. At least I'm able to do them all execpt the jumping. Muscles are really getting sore, though. I've lost two more pounds!!! That makes a grand total of 27! I'm sure I'll lose more the week of bible school when I have to do them with the kids every single night!

Yes, I DID perform surgery on myself! It went well after I finally got it numbed. Thank goodness I only have to do that once a week.

I'm kind-of down right now. Was betrayed by a 'friend' last week. I really hate when someone who you trusted goes around behind your back and talks about you to someone else. Don't you just hate that? Guess he wasn't as great a 'friend' as I thought he was! Only problem is, he's two-faced and acts like nothing has changed. I can't be like that. I've already written him off as a loser and don't want to be around him any more than I have to. Maybe he'll get the hint eventually!

I have 16 songs I'm working on memorizing. 9 for bible school and 7 for the conference I'm singing at. Plus I sing on the radio the first Sunday of every month and I also sing in my church and don't use music for that. That's a lot to try to keep in my little pea brain! :p Hubby made me CDs of all the songs I have to learn. I have CDs in my van, in the kitchen and even in my bathroom!

Meme, can you bring it up with your friend as to what happened? Maybe you can get it settled-course it's normal to get angry first. Yikes-son called yesterday and said they were coming uo for 2 weeks-course some will be travel time. And he's going to spend half of it here and wants to have a cookout-big-cuz they don't have time to go and visit everyone. They will stay in the camper and Alison in here. Big problem-stairs and wheelchair-we have 7 steps up to deck-3 into house-and 3 inside to bedrooms. And some into trailer. Any advice. My left shoulder is acting like tendonitis and I have to finish that crosstitch-the hard part is done. I love music-tjhat Bible camp ought to be great!!!Mima

All six of the robin eggs hatched but the nest is so full they keep falling out and I iust put them back in. She doesn't seem to mind that I touched them but I do not think they are all getting enough to eat, some are really tiny. I tried to take pictures but it is dark in the corner of the porch.

Help...I am terribly sunburned:eek:.....Mowed in the hot (95) weather for 6 hours...had sun screen on but my legs and arms got it bad!!!!!!!!!! Since I am not usually up during daylight hours I have not been in the hot sun for years. (usually go out after 4) But I got DS off and decided to mow................and of couse I baked him choc chip cookies! :D

Candice- Sunburns hurt so bad. Makes you want to just sit in the vinegar water.Lotions help somtimes.
Robin eggs hatching..We get the robins here in Jan. and Feb. They eat the wild berries on the trees. They like the australian pepper tree berries the best. Those trees are a big problem here. We get rid of as many as we can..They just take over..
Hello everybody...Joanne

Those robins must be cute!! I think we have to build a ramp for Al to get in the houscourse Brad has complicated plans about it but I say keep it simple. We live on the second floor but there is a 3 and a half foot deck in the back-the front has a spiral staircase-no way. As long as we own the house, she will be coming here-you never know, we might need it for ourselves. Candice, please use sunscreen when you go out. Bye for now. Mima

Meme...will you have Ross for the summer too? I hate it when I find out that someone talked about me behind my back but I suppose we all do it in some fashion.
I do have the South Beach Diet book but I just can't seem to DIET. I really do not like the word or concept anymore. So much of my angst right now is not about the number of POUNDS, but where they landed in the last few years :?: It all seems to be in my waist. Even after having twins I was always thin waisted. To put on pants or pantyhose and have that flab around my middle is obnoxious. A girdle wouldn't help, that would just send that flab to my thighs
Hello to everyone else...hope all is well!

No, not this year. He's going to a program the school system here has worked out where they rotate schools and they do different things. Like swimming for awhile, and bowling for awhile, etc. He's really looking forward to it and I'm glad I'm not keeping him for the whole summer. I love him to death but having him here 5 days a week from 7 AM to 5 or 6 PM just wears me out. I've had Jenna from Tuesday until right now (her dad is supposed to be here any minute now) and I'm about killed. A 5 year old takes a lot out of you, too. I have a rough couple of weeks ahead of me, too. I have a singing tonight, a funeral tomorrow and dinner with friends tomorrow night and church Sun. Then next week I'll have the usual teaching piano and getting ready for my trip plus memorizing all those songs, etc. Friday night is Jenna's graduation from preschool and then Sat. I'm leaving for NC ... we'll be coming back on Monday and Vacation Bible School starts on Monday night and goes through Friday night and then the Women's conference is Saturday and the closing program for VBS is on Sunday night. I'll be ready for a stay at either a hospital or a mental institute by the time all that is over! :p

Candice - an after sun lotion with Aloe is the best thing for a sunburn. Buy a bottle at Wal Mart the next time you are there and keep it on hand.

That's right Meme-aloe-I bet you have an aloe plant Candice-i always use that on burns. Works great. Going to Stockbridge Ma tomorrow to have breakfast with my niece who is 4 months pregnant. She has had 2 miscarriages so we pray for her all the time but her pregnancy seems to be going well. My SIL and I will also got to the Norman Rockwell Museum there-I have been before and it's awesome. Have a great weekend Mima

Hi to all of you.

Well, busy week.

My son got engaged on Tuesday and they came home last night to show us the ring. They will get married in October. Jackie (his girlfriend) has a 5 yr. old son, named James. So, I guess we get a daughter-in-law, plus another grandchild. He is a really cute, hyper child. Drives me nuts, but that is a whole other story.

My life-long girlfriends, dad passed away, so I have a funeral to go to on Monday, in Edmonton, so that is a 2 hr. trip oneway, so I will probably spend the night in the city and come home on Tuesday sometime. Then another girlfriend is coming to visit me on Wednesday and staying until Thursday, so I will have a pretty busy week.

Ally, nice to hear from you. Wouldn't it be nice if just reading the book worked

Meme - busy, busy, busy as always. Take it easy!!

Candice - Well, your son is gone again, so what excuse do you use now for making cookies

Hope you are all having a nice weekend.

I left my house at 11 AM this morning and didn't get home until 8:30 tonight. I'm so tired! Still have to take a shower and it's 11 PM. We cleaned the church, ran errands, went to the funeral, then over to the Association building where the conference is going to be to check out the PA system - had to see what kind of equipment I will need to take with me to sing. Then we went to dinner with friends and back to their house for dessert.

Hmmm... 5 yr. old ... isn't that about the same age as your granddaughter? So they can play together. I have a hyper granddaughter so I know what that's like! I had her from Tues. to Fri. and she about drove me nuts (but she's a sweetie). The important thing is: Do you like the daughter-in-law? Not being able to get along with a daughter-in-law is every mother's worst nightmare!

Ally ... I hate dieting, too ... that's why I quit! :D

I have been taking baking soda baths to help with the sting and now the itch!!!!! Not working...I tried and aloe spray too...not working.........Time.........and now I have to mow again, you can besure I will be all covered up this time!

One of the baby birds jumped out of the nest and onto my head and got stuck in my hair!!!!!! then he pooped down the front of me....Yuck! I got him back in the nest (the whole time the mother was fussing at me )and he jumped out again, put him back again and he is out so out he stays. The momma bird like to fuss at my kitties that sit in the basement windows too.

Do any of you know how many steps it takes on a pedometer to = a mile?????? My stride is set at 14". I have two of them cause my WW one didn't seem to work right, it only counts half of the steps.

I'm really glad I do not have grandkids or daughter-in-laws yet...not sure I want any either!

Need a break-Brad and his brother brought the table yesterday-now I have too much furniture. Still don't know about washing machine. Have fun meme. Feel better Candice. Bye Mima

Today and yesterday has been catch up for me. I really enjoyed having my daughter here. We ate out and went to the mall. The son took us out in the boat for part of the day sat. We caught some fish ,none I wanted to bring home or clean. It was really hot out there.
My son moved most of his things. Mainly his dog. Labs shed so much. It was vacumn every day for me. I will be cleaning up hair for the next month. He isn't going to stay in this house long. He is trying to buy one near the gulf. Then he will rent this one out too. It is a upstairs living. His dog can't/won't go up or down the stairs. He has to carry him up and down 4 times a day. Not easy and work full time. I bet he will work that out by the weekend.
We got a good rain last night and expect more today.. We need it. It has been dry a long time.
Aloe; I forgot about that. I keep a planter full for burns. They also sell it by the bottle in most pharmacys. Lots of lotion helps. I got a sunburn a few years ago. I got sun poisoning along with it. Nasty stuff. Had to go to Dr. and get something for the itching. Nothing over the counter helped...
Bye for now...Joanne
