Firstly I cant sit in the sun cos of my face and the new grafts, secondly I am aching and stiff from head to toe, and thirdly I upgraded my pc last night from ME to windows 2000 and what a nightmare. I am braindead. :?: Its ok now but EVERYTHING had to be reinstalled. My stress levels are on the way down so here I am. :coffee: http://muchos.co.uk/members/gillystock/PamelaKDWitchTransp.gif

Still going wrong somewhere cos my animated gifs just arnt doing what they should be doing!
Sometimes you save images that are for web tv only. If that's the case, they only show the "still" image. I accidently tried that yesterday. I loaded several, then found out they weren't for pc. So, you might check that. Otherwise, you would put them in the same way as the others.
Keep trying...you'll do it. http://media.euniverse.com/funpages/cms_content/2543/flowergirlb.gif

Hi Girls!! I'm here. Still trying to get on this morning schedule thing. Little stiff today too so that doesn't help matters any. Probably because I didn't get enough sleep.
Yesterday I went clean happy and cleaned for 5 hours. Then my soul-cousin & his G/F came over and had dinner with us. Then hubby fixed her computer. He is the man everyone calls when their pc's break down. I told him he needs to start a business doing this but I got the funny look.
Today I am going to finish up the wash, put the dishes away, clean my office desk, exercise, go grocery shopping, and start preparing for this weekends tournament. Sounds great huh. Ahhhh the fun of Mondays... :dz:

Hello everyone. Sorry I got lost on that one. I guess I will have to keep track of new posts. Hope everyone is doing well.
Stirfried......i'm not on a real "diet" but I have cut out dairy due to lactose intolerance and am just trying to make healthier choices when it comes to eating. But since I have been a constant weight for a while and not exercising I think that it will work out ok this way. Obviously if it doesn't I will make more drastic changes (I hope that doesn't happen). But I am starting to lose inches and notice some definition in my arms so something is working.
Well hope you are all feeling healthy.....talk to you soon.

Hi all...hope you are all having a good day. I have been clearing all the clutter out of the attic and I am wasted. :( Why do we accumulate so much junk. I have boxes and boxes of photos (pre digicam days) loads of memory jerkers today. Anyway back on my healthy eating and being pretty rough on myself when it comes to fancying a snack etc. I have to be rigid until I am back in a routine then I can relax a bit and have the odd treat. I only popped on to wish you all well and hope you are all in fine fettle.I have just tried to put in an animation and apparently you have to do 50 posts first so you're going to hear alot more from me.

That's what everyone says!! In my last years living in Oregon, you would of thought I was the biggest slob ever. My RA/OA/AK was soo bad I couldn't clean the house and all be darned if hubby would try. I guess I am making up for lost time. Yesterday I went on another cleaning spree. I did another 5 loads of wash, did some gardening/digging, straightened up some stuff in the office, and did a heavy cleaning/organizing of my office desk. Today I have my bowling banquet so I'll have to curb the cleaning for a bit. Darn!! Then I have the tournament this weekend so I'll be offline for 3 days. I'm going to have severe 3FC withdrawls!! WahhhhH!!!!
Have a good day all... :coffee2:

Hi all! Thought this might help with losing weight.....
Exercise Program
The doctor told me "Physical exercise is good for you." I know
that I should do it, but my body is out of shape, so I have worked out
this easy daily program I can do anywhere. You can do this, too
Monday:
Beat around the bush.
Jump to conclusions.
Climb the walls.
Wade through paperwork.
Tuesday:
Drag my heels.
Push my luck.
Make mountains out of molehills.
Hit the nail on the head.
Wednesday:
Bend over backwards.
Jump on the bandwagon.
Balance the books.
Run around in circles.
Thursday:
Toot my own horn.
Climb the ladder of success.
Pull out the stops.
Add fuel to the fire.
Friday:
Open a can of worms.
Put my foot in my mouth
Start the ball rolling.
Go over the edge.
Saturday:
Pick up the pieces.
Whew!
What a workout!
You are invited to use my program without charge!!
Well, as you can see, this is the exercise program I am using to
get in shape for the summer.
You might want to take it easy at first, and then do it faster
as you become more proficient.
It may be too strenuous for some..
** ALWAYS CONSULT YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STARTING ANY
EXERCISE PROGRAM.**
SCROLL DOWN...
NOW SCROLL UP...... Feel the burn?

Well, tonight was our bowling banquet night and...I made off with a few "goodies" that I didn't expect!! :D
Hubby & I both took 1st Place League High Series Handicap--Received a Special Pin & Cash. I didnt think I won because the week before we were done bowling I got bumped back down to 2nd, but apparently I reclaimed my title at the last minute!! Yippee!! :cb:
We also took 1st Place in Team High Game Scratch, Team High Game Scratch Series, and Team Champions. We got cash for all of these and special League Champion pins for winning 1st place. I also have the chance to purchase the League Champion Ring. Oooo I'm going too. I won't see another one of these in a longggg time so I might as well soak it up now while I can. I'm going for the gold one you see there in the middle of the pic, but I am going to get my birthstone (sapphire) in the middle. I am trying to figure out the engraving. On 1 side I will have "Angel" & the other side "Noodles", but what to put on the inside?? Never had this kind of decision before..:chin: Maybe I will put I LOVE RATS inside. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/2/happy17.gif
I decided to go to Wally World after bowling and spend some of my loot. I have had my other fish tank set up and cycled since Sunday, so it was time to get a fish. Well I wanted a colorful one so I went and browsed the bettas. There was this beautiful blue one that kept swimming right up to me whenever I would walk by so I decided he was the one and took him home with me to his new palace in the water. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/animal/2/animal09.gif I also bought some dark chocolate :chockiss:'s. Hey a bag lasts me almost 2 weeks so I deserve a little treat!! :smug:
Anyhow, here's a pic of my "loot". Hub ran off with some of the cash so...I only got part of it in there for ya. Time to rob his wallet. <innocent blinking-eyes look here> http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/happy/3/happy05.gif
I started on a new eating plan today. It is called "Living the G.I. Diet" and it is based on the Glycemic Index. South Beach caused a condition of Acidosis and my heart was doing some pretty weird stuff (that is what the Dr. called it). Atkins isn't the best for me, as I am not much of a meat eater, although it sure did help with IBS and some of the FM pain. The G.I. Diet allows 3 meals and 3 snacks, and the best part is, I can still bake, which I truly enjoy doing, and eat it! I made Cranberry Bran Muffins and Apple Pie Cookies and because they have a lot of fiber in them, I am very satisfied with eating one.
I can't seem to get any of this weight to move off of me and I would like to lose 30-40 pounds. My short term goal is 10 pounds.
I hope everybody is having a good day.

Just a quick post today. I'm going to take one of my granddaughters for "just a day" for the two of us. I do that with them, when I can. I try to give them individual attention. Especially the three oldest that live close by. They'll be grown & gone before long. Amber is 11...graduated from 6th grade yesterday. Her sisters, Jessica (12) & Tasha (15) will be next. They had school today.
We're going to get our nails & hair done, eat lunch & do a little shopping! This is something I've done since they were little. They were so close in age, it was hard for me (with back problems) to handle all three...so one at a time. Then, when they got older, we started days out, instead of at my house playing.
My Remicade is starting to wear off. Had a very bad night. I get a treatment next Thursday....I'll just have to hold on until then. I take my Methotrexate shot tonight, so maybe that'll help me.
I hope all of you have a good day. I'll try to post more tonight....if not, I'll be back tomorrow.

For the bowling comment. :)
So much for sleep last night... :dz:
I've been up since 10:30 am Wed. with a 1 hour nap. I was dead tired by 9 PM but my daughter was up sick so it scared the tired right out of me.
The poor kid...:( Tomorrow is her last day of school and she can't go in this shape. She has been throwing up and can hardly stand. Poor thing didn't even make it to the toilet. She got it all over her clothes/hair/etc. Ugh... Hubby, the dea that he is, went out to get her 7-Up at 12 midnight. She couldn't keep it down. I told her if she can't keep any fluids down by morning, she's going in!! I gave her a warm bath and brushed her hair and put the bucket next to her. She's sleeping now so that's a good thing but now *I* can't sleep. So I've just been working on auctions. Slower way to get rid of stuff, but hey I'm still de-cluttering!! ;) If you want to check them out, my seller ID is the same as here: Noodles913.
Scratch that..she just got up again...poor kid. I feel helpless as a mother in times like these. :(
http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/love/love62.gif Well, I will miss all of ya!! I'll be scarce then gone completely for 3 days after Friday. Tournament time ya know. Unless the kid doesn't get better. Then the tournament can kiss my :censored:. I shall return Monday!! Have a good weekend everyone.

The Pope Drives A Limo!! :smug:
The limo driver, after getting all of Pope John Paul's luggage loaded into the limo (and he doesn't travel light), notices that the Pope is still standing on the curb. "Excuse me, Your Eminence," says the driver, "would you please take your seat so we can leave?
"Well, to tell you the truth," says the Pope, "they never let me drive at
the Vatican, and I'd really like to drive today."
"I'm sorry but I cannot let you do that. I'd lose my job! And what if something should happen?," protests the driver, wishing he'd never gone to work that morning.
"There might be something extra in it for you," says the Pope.
Reluctantly, the driver gets in the back as the Pope climbs in behind the
wheel. The driver quickly regrets his decision when, after exiting the
airport, the Supreme Pontiff floors it, accelerating the limo to 105 mph.
"Please slow down, Your Holiness!!!" pleads the worried driver, but the Pope
keeps the pedal to the metal until they hear sirens. "Oh, my God, I'm gonna
lose my license," moans the driver.
The Pope pulls over and rolls down the window as the cop approaches, but the cop takes one look at him, goes back to his motorcycle, and gets on the
radio. "I need to talk to the Chief," he says to the dispatcher. The Chief
gets on the radio and the cop tells him that he's stopped a limo going a
hundred and five.
"So bust him," said the Chief.
"I don't think we want to do that, he's really important," said the cop.
Then the Chief exclaimed, "All the more reason!"
"No, I mean really important," said the cop.
The Chief then asked, "Who ya got there, the Mayor?"
Cop: "Bigger."
Chief: "Governor?"
Cop: "Bigger."
"Well," said the Chief, "who else could it be, the Pope?"
Cop: "I think it's God!"
Chief: "What makes you think it's God?"
Cop: "He's got the Pope for a limo driver!! :lol3:

It's a new rule here at 3FC. We were getting too many spammers trying to stick their advertising graphics and their what nots in, so Suzanne changed things so they couldn't. Spammers/advertisers arent going to try to post 50 times...it isnt worth their time. Hang in there, Imagonna!! Yer almost at 50!! :)

What you do is after you type your whole message, go over it with your mouse and highlight it, then go and pick what you want to do and click that and it should automatically do this for you. You won't see the results though until after you post the message. If that doesnt work for you just remember to add the same words at the end as you have at the beginning, but add a / to it. like this in front of your font=georgia and color=cyan. don't forget the little []'s either. I just didnt put them all in because if I did, then you wouldn't be able to see this explanation. So..you have a rare post without Noodles color! hehehe

There's different ways to put in the font & color. You had it right, all but the[/]& [/]at the end of your post. And like Noodles said, it's very simple to highlight, then pick the color. You can even highlight part of the post like this& then change colors by highlight the other part & choosing. Right below those choices are the places to choose B for bold, etc, then right, or center, or left, etc. You'll learn with practice. Just keep experimenting.
The Metho makes my food taste strange...like it's ruined, so I keep my weight down, mostly, because of that. I should have been on it, while I was on my diet to lose. I mostly try to just maintain now...although I wouldn't mind losing a little more. I get a Remicade treatment Thursday...I look forward to it because it helps me so much. I dread it also, because they really drug me up, being sensitive to it, so I'm "out of it" for a couple of days. I hate having this mess, but what are we to do? Sometimes I have pity parties & bawl about it, but it really doesn't help. I find that when it's close to time for a treatment, like now, is when I mostly feel this way. I'm also ill...can't seem to help it.
:flow1:

Hope you don't mind my jumping in here, but I feel like I know a lot of you anyway. I post on several threads here on 3FC and read lots more. Noodles, congrats on the bowling. I used to bowl all the time, until the arthritis in my knees got so bad I couldn't handle it. I finally had both my knees replaced in 2002, and about a month ago I decided to see if I could still bowl, but I couldn't fit my fingers in my ball, so I tried a house ball. I was so afraid that I'd fall on my knees (that would be bad) that I only bowled one game and quit.
I have OA and Sjorgrens (that's also an autoimmune disease in the RA/Lupus family) and I have a lot of pain. I do water aerobics five days a week to keep myself as limber as possible.
I have a lot of weight to loose, and don't have a lot of luck loosing it, but I'm still trying.

So glad you came by. Hope you'll stay with us. I'm on other threads, also, but know my friends here understand my pain, & we can complain on bad days & not feel like we're talking about something no one else understands. Of course, others are very kind & encouraging....but, when you're talking to someone who's "there", it helps. I like your graphics, too! Both knees replaced! Ouch! Sounds like it may have really helped, though. Hope so. I know about Lupus, because of a couple of people I know. I don't know about Sjorgrens. Autoimmune disease says a lot, though. It's so hard to get people that are healthy to realize how devastating RA, etc is. Honestly, I didn't know until I got it. It swept so fast through my body, I didn't really get a chance to get used to the idea of having it. (If there is such a thing, as getting used to it.) Keep us updated how you're doing.

I remember now you saying your name is Angel. I HAD forgotten, though. I collect angels. I started 12 yrs ago. Had a very large collection from several states. Not just figurines, but, picture frames, calendars, etc. We had a housefire 1 1/2 yrs ago. A lot of my angels were burned. I cleaned the remaining & put them in boxes & stored them in a public storage with furniture, & other sentimental things from the fire. The storage building was filled to capacity. One day last summer, we discovered someone had broken into the storage building & stole everything we had! ( a few rough months we've been through). Anyway, my sweet mother-in-law gave me a surprise "Angel Shower" & I received a lot of beautiful angels! I'm still getting them. This meant sooo much to me! Of course, I'll never forget the ones I had. A lot of those were gifts, also. The storage had things of my dad's (deceased) that meant a lot to me. Also, an oak bedroom suit we had bought the week we got married 36 yrs ago. Oh well.....water under the bridge. I didn't mean to go on & on. But, I DO like angels!!!!
I know what you mean about the hair loss. My hair is thin, & the Methotrexate makes it come out even more. I have a great beautician. She makes my hair look a lot thicker than what it is! Hope you're feeling better today.....& find your kitty. The pic below is for you.

Welcome, Ageoldie!! Thanks for the nice comments. :D
Goodness gracious, Charlotte! You've been through alot!! Ya know Charlotte is 1 of my favorite names...I had a car that we named Charlotte..my mother bought it when I was born and passed it to me when I was 18. I changed the way I spelled the name to "Sharlet" so I could get a personalized plate for her. Sniffles..I miss that car!! :(
No cat. I put up flyers, went to pound and did paperwork, hub did the HSSA trip, and I put his pics on our local lost and found pet site. Oh and newspapers. Cosmo was a pound adoptee and already abused and so he's scared as it is of sounds and things. This time I wasn't home for him to run too. Besides that, everything else that could go wrong is going wrong. I'm ready to run away from home. http://www.planetsmilies.com/smilies/sad/3/sad05.gif

Hi everybody,
The names list is getting so long now that I just cant go to each and everyone of you just incase somebody gets missed. But I will try and cover some of the important bits that have stuck in my mind. Unfortunately I am a touch braindead due to painkillers for this grotty RA. I have had so much pain this week that I actually went to my GP and said I am getting to the state of confusion as to whether its RA or something else wrong with me. You know how it is, we put every twinge down to RA when sometimes it gets so bad I wonder could something else have crept in. Anyway the GP's wont cut across the Rheumy so they tell you to go home take painkillers. In other words go home and suffer. I see my Rheumy on the 15th so we will just have to float for a bit.
Noodles......My neighbour has two cats and last summer one went missing and it had sneaked into our garage for 3 days. People have this habit of going to garages and sheds in the summer and leaving the door open a touch and you know how curious cats can be, then they end up getting locked in. Plus if its a cute cat, and I am sure it is other people tend to feed them and then they forget for a couple of days where their home is. I am sure all will be fine.
WELCOME Ageoldie!
Its always nice to have new faces and new chat. Theyre a very graphic, cheerie lot here dispite all their aches and pains. I think I have sussed it out actually, while they are looking for all their gifs and animations they forget about the joints etc.....great therapy. I cant wait to get to 50 posts and I will be joining them.
Linus up in Edinburgh you sound as if your weather is on a par to us down south at the moment. One minute you think summers here and the next we are back wearing our fleeces. Do you think we have had our summer now. All three days of it. :dizzy:
Well I really ought to go and move about a bit before I lock up position so I will get back to you all soon. Love looking at all the pics .....Angel-Lover you are a star at finding the right ones for the right day. Catch you later.....Pam

I DO hope you get to feeling better, soon! Oh...how I know that is. :^: I really feel for you....& not many understand. I know I keep dwelling that, but it seems to bother me a lot...I suppose more than it should.
We went to DH's cousin's funeral yesterday (a 2 hr drive away). Soon after we got to the chapel, I went to getting a headache, then back got a lot worse, then stomach cramps...I was wondering what on earth was going on! Then, it occured to me...I had forgotten to take my medications (which is a lot, for different things.)! That's something I never forget to do...I was just in a hurry. So...I spent several miserable hours & cried all the way home, from all the pain. I learned a valuable lesson! At least it let me know how much the meds are helping me. This wasn't even for RA! Some of it was for the OA, though.

I've never liked my name too much. I think I would like it better spelled Sharlet, though! I'm so sorry about your cat. You know, sometimes they stay gone a long time, then return. There's still hope. If not, maybe some child is giving it a lot of loving.
:flow1:
Seems like every time I start posting, I have to go do something else. Well... it's happened again. I've tried just stopping & returning, but if it takes awhile...my post leaves. :( Maybe I can come back later today. If not, I check in tomorrow. I get a treatment tomorrow evening, so I'll be "out of it" pretty much for a couple of days. Hello to Ageoldie, Rita, Kim, 2b...have a good day.

Hi Girls..
Not much to post. No Cat..he's been gone since Saturday. Kid leaves Friday for the grandparental summer vacation trips, and I'm trying to close up my last auctions so I can run away for a bit too. Going to see my best friends for a bit and lend them a hand with moving and yard sales and play with my nephews. I gotta do something before I really break down. Depression bites me in the butt in times like these. Blah!! Somehow being around the people that have always loved me unconditionally squeezes the life out of the depression. For a bit anyhow...At least my arthritis isn't bugging me too bad!! That's something to be positive about. :D
Have a good day. :sunny:

I hope you ladies feel better soon. I don't think there could be anything worse than depression. Don't have, don't want it! This blasted fatigue is the thing I hate and find hard to deal with. It is worse than the pain. I can lay down, but I can't sleep, although I am just on the outer rim of sleep. It just won't happen. I have O/A in my back and hip, along with Fibromyalgia. I have been trying to not take meds and just make sure and go for my chiropractic treatment. Seems to be working, but I always have meds on hand, for you never know when you need them.
Have any of you tried the tennis balls for therapy? Put two or three into a sock, divided with elastic bands. Lay on the floor, or the bed, or against the wall and apply pressure where it hurts. This helps release trigger points. Although it can be very painful when you are doing it, it feels better after.
I see some of you live in Great Britain. I live in Canada, and spring has had a hard time coming here this year. I believe it has finally arrived now. I hope we get no more snow.

Hope everyone's feeling well today. I can't stay long...treatment today. Just wanted to let you all know I'm thinking of you. Noodles...Hope you enjoy your get-a-way. Maybe it will help. I'm sorry you're depressed. I believe I've been depressed since the housefire, but, I'm surviving. We ARE hoping to go to Gulf Shores in a couple of weeks. Haven't taken a vacation in awhile, & believe it will help us. I love just sitting on the beach watching the water. Rita...Hope your OA is better. My OA is doing a little better lately. Happy Canuk... I know what you mean about the fatigue. I hate all the other things about RA, but the fatigue really does me in. Like you said, can't sleep, but too weak to get up. My neurologist thinks I have the Fibromyalgia with it....I wouldn't be surprised. I'll have to try the tennis balls. Thanks for the idea.
Well, gotta go...everyone take care. I'll post again when I can.http://img61.photobucket.com/albums/v185/Angel-Lover/Charlottequill.gif

Angel, hope the treatment doesn't leave you feeling too awful. How often do you need to have them? Well, FM is just one more pain really. Except it keeps changing all the time. The past while my feet have been really sore and they hurt the most when I first get up in the morning. Hate stepping on them. As the day goes on, the more I am on them, the better they feel - sometimes!!!
Noodles - hope your little break will help with the depression. Sorry you have to go through this.
For those not feeling well, today, I hope you see some improvement soon.
I shall return!! Probably in 10 days or so. Have a good weekend everyone. :grouphug:

I've got to find time to play with the graphics and get them down. Last night was my bunco night and I look forward to it every month. Last night we went pretty long and by the end of the night I hurt so bad I felt like crying. Besides the fatigue my legs were hurting really bad. I had about a 20 minute drive home and I was so glad there were people with me so I wouldn't go to sleep at the wheel.
I usually work on Saturdays but since this is a holiday weekend, we are closed today and I think I'm not going to do a thing. My sister is coming over to work on our VBS class starting the 6th and I think we are going to lay out at my son's pool this afternoon. (My son lives two doors down from me) He is playing in a golf tournament today and won't be home. (He is single, so that means the house will be empty)
Hope everyone else is having a relatively pain free day and has a great weekend.

Hello Everybody- I thought I would drop in as I was reading through a few messages. I have oa and the past couple weeks have been painful for me. I used to take all kinds of meds for the oa but, my stomach decided enough was enough. I only take a Darvocet n 100 once in awhile now. Sometimes Advil will help. I think the main thing that helped me was that I have lost a good deal of weight. I also walk 3 miles almost every day. Happy told me about the balls in the sock. I might have to go out and buy some to see if it will work on my neck. Yes Happy still with the neck pain. I think it is oa in there.
I always felt the best thing for depression was exercise.I know when I get upset or down about something it helps me to just get out and walk to the beach. Usually by the time I get there ,I feel better. Just a thought that might help someone..
Angel- I haven't found you for awhile. I hope you are doing well. How is the house coming along?
My son has been with us for awhile . He sold his house and just bought another one. He is in the process of moving. I love him, but, I will be glad when his dog has another bed besides my rugs. My G/son will be going back to Irag probably next month. He is in the navy on a carrier so he should be safe. You never know though till they come back home. He was there during the first bombing. His ship was in the Med. sea then.
Have Nice Weekend...Joanne

Joanne D!
So good to hear from you! I've thought a lot about your beach lately. I've got to get away soon. It's been very stressful around here, & I need time away. Wish I lived close to you! Hey...weigh to go!! Proud for you losing the weight. I also have a son with me & DH now. He & wife are divorcing. They're in a bitter fight over the 2 little girls. Bad times.
The house is coming along a little faster now. Hopefully by the end of summer, most of it will be finished. Either that, or we'll be out of money, & can't finish. :^: Sorry your OA is bothering you so bad. My RA is giving me fits.
I'll be praying for your grandson. My SIL is safely at home & will be out of the service in August & they'll be moving back here. He's having a lot of nightmares. Daughter says they're not about dying, but about being captured. Apparently that was his worse fear.
Do come & visit here often. I miss you a lot! Hope you have a great holiday weekend.
Ageoldie
Sorry you have been feeling so bad. I know exactly what you mean by the fatigue. It is so overwhelming... I'll remember you in prayer tomorrow at church, if you don't mind. A pool would sound nice, if I had one....if not a beach. I'm still not feeling too well, so gonna go. Hope you rest peacefully tonight.

Hi all, really nice to see some new chatty people coming and saying hello...sad thing is we all seem to be going through the mill at the moment with these grotty aches and pains. I dont know about anybody else but I find when a flare goes on for a while its like a constant toothache and it brings on the tiredness, nausea and depression in that order. Is that how everybody else feels too? Thats my miserable bit over now for a little chat.......Charlotte I dont like it when youre not Chirpy so do feel better soon. I got my son hats over from NJ, remember the problems I had trying to buy one here, anyway would you believe one of them was split so not I am having to chase the company for a new one. Not only that but customs put another $15 dollars on the price and we havent had any sun as such either.
Only another 4 weeks to the wedding and I will be on that 7 hour haul across the pond. Mind you, cant wait to see my boys and their families. :) I cant wait to see my consultant who did my surgery on my face as he is supposed to be saying whether I can start putting a foundation on over my scarring. Although it has healed beautifully it is obviously still new and very red. He did say nothing until at least July so the wedding being the 3rd might be fine.
I worry about my sons being across the pond but I must say I feel for you if you have sons involved with Iraq, it must be a nightmare for them and you. MY heart goes out to anyone in that position.
Right I am off now....My sister is calling me up for a game of backgammon. I haven't seen her in the flesh so to speak for 20 years as she is in Aussie but we chat and play games on here everyday....great eh? Also everybody in my family has a pc with a webcam so we all chat face to face...... Makes the world alot smaller...
Catch you all soon....

Iamgonnadoit I am gonna do it to!!!! :) I have been on this eating plan for just about a week (started the week before, but went out of town for 3 days, and staying at other's homes just doesn't seem to work well). Anyway, hopefully, I will be down a couple of pounds by tomorrow. It is so hard to shed a pound anymore. I believe all this is welded to my body
I know you will enjoy seeing your sons. That will be so nice for you. Just such a long trip is all.
What a great way to stay in contact with your family. 20 years is a loooong time, so having a webcan and playing games is great.
Ageoldie - the fatigue is worse than the pain for me. At least the pain I can deal with! This fatigue is just so blasted horrible. Hope it leaves you soon.
Joanne - glad you found your way over here. Hope your neck is feeling better, if not you had better go to the Dr. and see what is going on with it.
Angel Lover - Hmmm, was playing in PSP and made you a siggy. Use if it you want to. http://photos.imageevent.com/happycanuk/happycanukfirstalbum/angel%20lover.jpg Hope you are feeling better.
Linus - a new house will be nice. My days of stairs are long gone. We sold our house and moved to an apartment style condo and we are loving it.
Happy Canuk!
I suppose you can see I liked it! That was so very sweet of you. Cheered up my day, knowing you had me on your mind, & was so thoughtful. Have a great weekend!
Had a restful day yesterday, sat by the pool and in the water for a good bit of the day, until I started feeling too much sun. Then I came in to the reclinder. Today I went to church, came home an took a nap then I went back to church to work on our vacation bible school room. It's the next week (the 6-9th) so we are running out of time. But it's fun.
Tomorrow being a holiday here, I don't plan to do much then either. I may go to the health club and work our some, them I think my sister, mom and niece are going shopping. Nothing very strenious.
About the graphics, do you make them yourselves, or do you get them from some other site? If from another site, can I ask which ones? I love them, and want to come here just to see what's new.
You can get images from tons of places on the net. Just type into Google free images and a list should come up. Then, you must save then to your own computer, usually a file somewhere in My Documents (lots of people use My Pictures). Then you need to have a storage place to put them. I will come back and put a link here for you. It is free, you just need to sign up. Then you need to click on the image or the wording, depending on which site you are on. The picture will come up and then you Right Click on it, choose properties, highlight the url or address, right click, choose COPY, and then go the bottom and click ok. Then bring it back here and post it, using the following
paste the url
Here is the link for a storage site.http://www.mypages.iparenting.com/index.htm
You can also use Photobucket, but I find this one easier.
Hope this is clear for you, if not, just ask. Posting graphics is a lot of fun. I love making them as well. Have gotten into Paintshop Pro with a band of Fibromyalgia ladies and it is a great diversion for pain. Learned lots, but still so much to learn.
Sounds like your day was restful and that is good.
Angel - Glad you liked the angel. I saw her and thought of you. Have a few more to go. Hope your feeling better.

Thanks Anne, I have a storage site and I know how to insert the graphics, I just didn't know where to go to find them. I think I'll go check them out now. I tried to get into making my own with PSP, but somehow it just never clicked. I guess it's because I don't have enought time to devote to it, and when I'd get time to try, I'd have forgotten everything I had already done. I did do my siggy, but not much more.

WHAT IS A VETERAN?
A Veteran is someone who left hearth, home and loved ones behind, often at a young age, to protect our freedom.
A Veteran is someone who died in battle, far from home and is buried on foreign soil.
A Veteran is someone who crouched, terrified, in foxholes or trenches at The Front.
A Veteran is someone who landed on the beaches of Dieppe, Normandy and Juno and had little chance of surviving.
A Veteran is someone who was wounded, lost limbs, or was shell-shocked.
A Veteran is someone who spent months or years aboard a ship, far from home, to protect America from her enemies.
A Veteran is someone who was on a bomber over bullet-ridden skies, either as a pilot or a member of the crew.
A Veteran is someone who saved the lives of the wounded, whether a doctor, nurse, medic, or a member of his Platoon.
A Veteran is a member of the K9 Units who worked with our men overseas.
A Veteran is someone who spent years as a POW…many never came home. Some may be still alive, knowing they never will come home…wondering about mothers, wives and children.
A Veteran is someone who has been listed as MIA, but still lives in a foreign land, forgotten by his country.
A Veteran is someone who crawled through jungles and tunnels never knowing what lay around the next curve.
A Veteran is someone who is laid to rest as “Taps” drifts across a cemetery and guns sound in a salute.
A Veteran is someone in a Veteran’s hospital or old-age home who is not able to care for him/herself. Though they defended their country, they can no longer protect themselves from the physical and mental abuse inflicted by the staff or family members.
A Veteran is someone who once held his dying friend in his arms while wondering why the world was such a cruel place.
A Veteran is a nurse who held dying men in her arms and shed tears, even though she had never met him before in her life…she cried for the injustice of it all…the horror of it all and the senselessness of it all.
A Veteran is someone who wakes, screaming, in the night, his body drenched in sweat. He or she is remembering…dreaming of some atrocity witnessed in the course of war.
A Veteran is someone who marches in a parade, medals displayed proudly on his/her chest.
A Veteran is someone who marches in a parade with no medals displayed on his/her chest.
A Veteran is someone who never marches in a parade, has no medals, but knows that he did his/her duty and served their country proudly and to the best of their ability.
A Veteran is someone who enabled us to have everything we hold dear…equal opportunity, justice and liberty for all.
A Veteran is someone who we pay tribute to once a year. We stand at attention in silence for one (two in Canada this year) minute and thank him/her for what they have sacrificed. We should be ashamed.
A Veteran is someone who, when you see him/her on the street, you should walk up to, shake his or her hand and say, “Thank you.”
Have you hugged a Veteran today?

Nice piece Happy.. My father told me once about cooking a chicken in his helmet in a farm yard in France during the WW2.He was in England during the bombings. He is long gone.
My hubby was in the navy during that war. Spent most of that time in Miami at a air station. His brother was on a ship and was in some major battles.
It has been a quiet day here. We cooked steak on the grill. I made cheese potatoes augratin and salad. Too many points.
Hello Angel and everybody...Joanne
Hi Joanne D...Hope you had a good day. Yes, I had Uncles, friends, etc., & of course SIL in service. I've had them all on my mind all day. Have a nice evening.

Good morning!!!!!!! Oooooops! Afternoon.......12.20pm....Anyway hows everybody doing? I do hope you all had a super weekend whatever you happened to be doing. We spent alot of time yesterday in the garden....We cleaned our pond and kind of changed it a bit and went and bought new weed etc for it. Its not very big, but I think its lovely listening to the waterfall when youre sitting in the garden. I suppose some people would call it more of a water feature than a pond but we do have fish too. My OH took the dogs to our field as usual and sorted the ponies. We have two stabled at the moment which is very rare as they all live out normally. Unfortunately with native ponies, and ours are Welsh Mountain, they can be prone to Laminitis which apart from being very painful causes lameness. In all the years we have had horses and ponies we have never had it on our yard but we have now and its not good. The grass on the field is going crazy and these ponies dont know when to stop eating for their own good.So thats what has taken up OH 's time this weekend anyhow.
I see by reading the posts that everybody is into wanting to put pictures and signatures on here. I love to see them, I adore Happys pic of fatcat on the scales......Angel you know I am always going on about your graphics...BTW love the fairy......
I came on this forum to help with losing my weight but there are so many other things to talk about that its not as important as it was do you find that too. Must be cos we have other things to talk about. Ooops trouble, I have Sis calling me again...another game of something before she goes to bed.......catch you all soon.....byeeee

Have been crazy busy at work and my home computer up and died. We bought a new one, but it doesn't work right and I had to call COMP USA and have someone scheduled to come out and fix the dang thing already.
RA seems to be in check right now thanks to the methotrexate and the Enbrel. Better living through chemistry, eh?
One thing I am particularly excited about, and I know you guys will understand...
I went out and bought shoes this weekend. Cute, summer shoes. I have been wearing orthopedic Birkenstocks which are comfortable as all heck, but ugly as sin. My feet are my worst joint and I can't wear much of anything else, but I found some that are comfortable and hug my feet and are cute! I actually got a pedicure and had my toenails painted pink. Nothing like a little polish and sparkle to make a girl feel good, eh?
Anyway.... keeping everyone in my thoughts that you all have nice, pain free days ahead.

Oh Kim.....can I sypathise with you or what......oh for some comfy shoes! I have lived in trainers nearly all winter as everything I put on hurts. Trainers are the best or were but just lately they are awful too. I have to get sandals or shoes or something for this wedding in July but havent got a clue what. I have very wide feet too which is not good. You have a much better size range in the States but I am not leaving myself alot of time to go shopping as I dont arrive over there until the Wednesday night before the wedding.
My brother called in to see me on Saturday for the first time in ages and he had a pair of Indian Moccassins on his feet that he had bought in Cincinnatti somewhere. They measured his feet and then made them. They were made in one piece and were beautiful. They fitted like gloves and were so soft. They had a thick sole so you could wear them outside. I wear pants, either leggings or trousers or jeans all the time so they would be perfect for me. He is going back there in 2 weeks time so I have been begging him to buy some for me but he said he would need to checkout the price first cos he cant remember how much they were but has a feeling they were a phenomenal price.
Anyway you must be in your glory now to have found something comfortable and that fits ....lucky you.....and you have painted your toenails too ....OMG! I am speechless  You must feel a million dollars and so you should once in a while. :bravo:......Only eight more posts to go then I can post graphics ..YAY!!!!!!

Hi ladies.
Iamgonnadoit - Sounds like you had a nice busy day there. The sound of running water is so very relaxing, unless you have a full bladder  Sounds nice where you live. You are so right about this message board being MORE than just about weightloss. When you have chronic pain, it is nice to be able to reach out to others that understand. Nobody experiences pain the same way, but we sure do understand how it affect every aspect of our life.
I hope you are able to find some nice, comfortable shoes. That is so very important.
Since you like my little fat cat so much, I am passing him over to you. You will soon be able to post graphics. Hope you like it http://photos.imageevent.com/happycanuk/happycanukfirstalbum/Iamgonnadoit.gif
Ageoldie - It is nice to have two kids almost the same age, that actually get along. Hope you are feeling well.
Kim - way to go finding new shoes. Those Birkenstocks feel so horrible on my feet. All the bumps hit the wrong place. Anyway, so glad you found a nice pair of shoes and even better you got a pedicure. That must feel good.
Hi Joanne and Angel. Hope you are having a good day.
I have been having such pain in my hands and feet the past few weeks. A nurse, on another site I go to, suggested one of those hot wax machines. I did go buy one and it really helps relieve the pain. Just thought I would pass along the suggestion. Now, I hope everybody has a good day.

Oh Wow!!! Thanks for that Anne......Everybody is so nice on here .......Hey I have just notice youre on your 1000th post......WELL DONE!!!!! Goodness its going to take me forever to get there. :comp: I will keep trying though. Its been raining all day so I have spent quite a bit of time on here instead of doing all the mundane things I should have been doing like hoovering, ironing, cleaning up and the like. Thing is the same grotty chores are back again tomorrow so if I miss a day who cares. ;) Have to cook though and thats my next job. Dinner! Fajitas today cos theyre so quick and easy.....catch you soon... Byeeee

For the compliment...Iamgonnadoit. Soon you'll be doing the graphics! I'll be happy for you. I know you're looking forward to it. This is giving you a little time to be stocking up on some to use, later. ;) Looking forward to seeing what you have.
Happy Canuk..that was so sweet of you to do that! Be careful....you know you've already spoiled me! I wish I could afford PSP. I know I would enjoy it. Maybe at a later time.
Kim...so sorry about your pc. I totally understand those frustrations. It's good to hear from you.
Also sorry about your foot problems. My feet have been hurting me a lot lately. For the past year, I haven't been able to wear hardly any kind of shoe. Even house shoes hurt my feet. Just do the best I can.
Gotta go for now...have a good day.

Happy... the Birckenstocks definietly take some time to get used to. The first two weeks of wearing them were a little umcomfortable. The heat from your body eventually melts the cork and then they fit your feet like ugly little gloves. But oh my gosh, when you finally get them broken in? Heaven.

Good morning, everyone. Happy humpday! :D Oh well...so much for cheering everyone up. :coffee:
Kim...are those shoes for winter or summer? I can make it through summer, with just something soft to slip into. But, winter is really rough on me. This past winter, I wore those shoes that have the backs out you slide into. Fairly comfortable...but, as soon as I got to the station, I'd put on houseshoes. That's what I wear there, or couldn't walk around much. My right leg & hip has started bothering me a lot lately, also...hasn't been doing that. I stay so worried that I'm going to get down worse. DH always said I look for things to worry about. :^:
Iamgonnadoit...Your last 4 posts show they are #43! I hope they're counting them right. I would think you're close to 50 now. I know you're anxious. Maybe it just shows that way on my pc.
Happy Canuk...Hope your hands & feet get better. Maybe that wax machine will help. If so, let us know...my feet bother me worse than my hands...I could sit here & post with my feet in hot wax! hmmmm...sounds nice. ;)
Gotta go....hope everyone has a good day.

I often wondered about those shoes. The only thing is the price and they are so ugly.. I have a really difficult time finding shoes that don't hurt. Maybe I should close my eyes and buy a pair.
My daughter has a hot wax machine she uses for her hands. I have tried it a couple times. Makes your hands nice and soft after the burn.
I got in my sons hot tub last night. My first time in one. I might have to do that again. He said if he sells the house he will give it to me.
Walked as usual yesterday. 3 miles on a treadmil is hard to do. I had my CD player on and the TV too. I couldn't hear the TV but the picture helped take my mind off of the time. It is just too hot to walk outside now. The humidity here in Fl. is something else.
Bye for now...Joanne

Good morning.
Angel - hope your feet feel better soon. It is bad enough having this darn pain, but with the feet it is terrible. You must use them to transport yourself!! Have you ever tried on a pair of the z-coil shoes? My uncle bought a pair of them because his knee is so bad, and it is amazing the difference in the pain levels. Lots of nurses here wear them as well, because they are on their feet for so many hours. Helps the feet, legs, lower back etc. They are not the prettiest shoes in the world, but if they help, who the heck cares http://www.zcoil.com/ztechnology.cfm
Iamgonnadoit - The number thing doesn't seem to be working. I have been at 1000 posts for absolutely months. Maybe, if you can't post images yet, you should go to the main forum and ask about it.
Joanne - nice that your son got a hot tub in this new house of his. Nicer that he will give it to you when he goes to sell it!! I can't go in them, as the chemicals make my skin way to itchy. Otherwise, they are great.
Ageoldie - did you find some graphic sites yet? I can post a few for you here if you like.
I am going to do the hotwax on my feet again this morning. You just dip them into the wax quickly, and then wrap them in plastic bags and sit for about 20 minutes. It relaxes the feet so much. Same with the hands.
Been having trouble with my lower back the past few days, and the right hip. Wish it would go away. Just kind of gets a grip and won't let go.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hi Angel-lover,
sorry to hear about your feet. I used to get that all the time. Sometimes it gets so bad you can't even walk. I hope your start feeling better soon.
I forget what meds are you on. One is methotrexate isn't you inject it, right?
I am lucky I have been getting better, not hardly much pain.,except if I do to much walking . I always have pain in my inside of my ankle, and some knee pad. Nothing like it was though. I was just getting a shot of Humira once every 15 days, then the doc put me bac on methitrexate. Together they seem to be working well. I hope this continues.
I haven't been here in a while. Alot of problems with my eldest daughter, she causes me a lot of stress, with her addiction to pain meds and depression. I am going to visit my youngest daughter to get away. I am not helping sarah at all, she constantly wants me to make everything alright, But won't take the steps herself to get well. so It will help me to distance myself from her for a week. I just keep praying that she wants to quit like she insists she does, but nothing I can do anymore to help her without enableling her. She won't go to N.A. or therepy.
Anyway The stress is causing a ulcer for me. I have totally blew my diet. Thats okay I can always start again. I am trying to watch what I eat and intend to try to get back with working out and eating proper tomorrow, but, my ulcer hurts so much that I can't eat just low carbs because the food is bad for the ulcer.
Sorry this post is so long. Hope you start feeling better. If you are like me you will invest in a few pairs of comfy slippers.
Bye for now

You're doing good. It just takes a little practice. Remember....the / is only used at the end of the area you want (centered, colored, etc.) Also, where it didn't work is where you just forgot to put it at the end. You can also review your post before submitting it, so you can correct it if you like. Beside the place that says "Submit Reply" there's a button that says "Preview Post". Click on it, & you'll see how your post will turn out. If you need to correct it, you don't have to even go back, just right under the preview will be your post. You can make the corrections, & even click on "Preview Post" again! ;) I do that on every post, unless I'm in a big hurry. Sometimes, I have to correct several times! It also helps me to decide the colors, graphics, etc., I want to use! :D
I'm so sorry about your daughter. As a mother of 3 grown daughters, & son, & can say I've had a lot of different problems to deal with. They were good kids...but, still had their problems, including drug use. Any time you need to talk, whether here, or need to pm me, please know I'm here for you. We all need a good listener sometimes. I'll be praying.

That hot tub sounds heavenly! I have a jacuzzi tub in the bathroom, & it helps a lot. Only thing, with this RA, I have to have DH help me sit down & get up. That would be fine, only he's VERY hard of hearing...He might not hear me call him when I'm ready to come out! Sometimes I think it's mostly SELECTIVE hearing. :^: Hey, just got an idea....I COULD buy one of those horns used at ball games to honk when I need him!

Pam
Gonna use your name, if it's ok. Yes, wanta see those graphics, girl! Go to a search & ask for specific kinds....." free beautiful angel graphics", or "free country graphics", or "free animated graphics"....you'll get sooo many to choose from!
How are you feeling these days? Hope you're able to use the make up like you want to for the wedding. I'm praying for you.
:flow1:
Well....I became an official Senior Citizen yesterday(55)! I was kind of depressed...felt like my youth was gone. My children all called & said I sounded depressed...but, I've been going through a lot lately, that I haven't told you all about. Anyway, they thought it was about my age, kept telling me that I didn't look my age, so it didn't matter. The girl that does my hair told me if I didn't tell anyone, they wouldn't know it. Made me feel better. But, facts are still facts.
The managers at the TV station are out of town this week, so I had to work. Normally, I work Monday, Wednesday, & Friday. I went in my office, & there were posters all over the place with "Happy Birthday" on them. A present on my desk (of course, an angel...& all kinds of things for skin treatment. The Methotrexate & Remicade really does dry my skin out.) Then, the lady who has a cooking show came in with a "mudslide" cake...hmmmmm! Of course, my friend (the manager)called & song "happy birthday". Later, on the evening program that she & I co-host "Tennessee Valley Now"....she called in & song again, while the rest of the staff brought in a cake & balloons, & another present...beautiful flowers. Yes, I'm petted! :D I've been volunteering my services there since '94, when the TV Station first came to town. I won't take money. I feel it's what the Lord wants me to do. I'm able to be there for a lot of people who need to talk. They do a lot for me, though. I have my program..."Vision of Heaven" on Monday nights for free. I couldn't do it if I had to pay for it. Air time is high anywhere you go! They're doing things for me all of the time. With the RA, they're very patient, & let me go at my own pace. I'm blessed. That's enough about myself....didn't mean to go on.

Hi All!!
Angel you are getting so professional with your postings, they really are superb and whats more you take time to include everyone. Happy Birthday for yesterday! You sound as if you had a lovely time and I am sure it left you with a day to remember, how super.
Been a busy bee the last couple of days stripping tiles off the wall in the bathroom. What a grotty job...... :( I am very very stiff and achy so taking each day as it comes til I see my Rheumy. Does annoy me when I cant do the things I want to get on with. In your head you are sure you are capable of so much but it just doesnt work out how you see it. Anyway I am determined not to be beaten.Right only came on here for a quick look then wanted to wish Charlie a belated Happy Birthday. (Ooooops Charlotte) I will be back later...so be warned... Pam
I turned 58 on my last birthday. Don't think I am looking forward to reaching the big 60, but like my Mom used to say, they are just numbers. You are only as old as you feel. My biggest thing was when I turned 25. Couldn't get over the fact that I was 1/4 of a century old. Boy how times change
I will get you a couple of sites to get you started ageoldie. It is pretty easy to find graphics on the net.
I hope everybody is feeling good today and that you all have a wonderful day.

Hi Iamgonnadoit! Isn't that the truth; boy, in our heads we are sure we can do anything we want, but whoa!! when you try to do it, it is a horse of a different color. I am thinking I can go to CURVES, and exercise place, but my daughter tells me I won't be able to do it with the way my lower back is. This makes me mad. Walking isn't so easy, with sore feet and a hip that won't co-operate. I might go try it anyway. When we play, we pay. That is about the size of it.
Anyway, glad you are getting those tiles removed. That will make you feel like you accomplished something. It is hard work, so I hope you are taking lots of breaks in between.
My hubby has been using the hot was treatment on his hands as well. I think he has some arthritis in his thumbs. Anyway, it appears to be helping some.

My goodness wait till you hit 70 and then 71 that I am. I still don't feel OLD. I have my pains like everyone and my bad days too. Don't let yourself feel old. You are a beautiful person. I know that we have never met, but, reading what you do for others tells me a lot. Keep up the wonderful work and let Our Lord take care of the rest.
Happy -I see you are for the Flames. Well I know nothing about hocky, but, I do want the Bolts to win. I have never been to a hocky game. I watched it on TV the other night and I was amazed at the skating skill of both teams. I had to close my eyes when they started fighting though.

That was a very sweet thing for you to say. Believe me, I receive a lot more than I give. I have the desire to help people...just don't feel very qualified.
You sure don't sound like you're 70 either! Which, is just a number, anyway. Like you say, we've never met....but, I believe we're friends...in person or in postings. I'm blessed. I have more friends now that I've found this forum, than I ever had before! I'm glad we found each other again. I've thought a lot about Grasshopper, Silk, & others.

Thank you for the card. It was so cute! Very thoughtful of you to make it for me. You have a lot of talent. I'm not looking forward to 60 either...but, don't know anything to do about it. The years just fly by! I remember the day I turned 30. Cried all day!! Now.....wish I was 30!

Thought you were cute, didn't you? :D When I was in grammer school, I was called Charlie, & Chuck....mostly by the boys. They thought they were bothering me, I guess, but they weren't. Mostly because I thought that meant they liked me, & another, I never did like the name Charlotte....so, was glad to be called something else!
Stripping tile off the walls?! Woman....you're gonna be hurting!! Mostly, be sure to not get anything around your surgery scars...if they're not completely healed...to get infected.
Thanks for the compliment on the graphic work. I enjoy it...& you all are worth it!

Hi all!!!!
Yep you win I did overdo it a touch yesterday but the tiles are off! YAY!!! Only to have new ones put back on but I can do that at my own pace. The only thing is when its finished I would have like to lounge in the bath with a book and a cuppa and enjoy having done the grafting BUT instead it will be a quick shower as there is no way I can sit in a bath let alone get out once I was in. No good calling on DH as he has been disabled as long as I have with his back. What a pair... I would have got rid of the bath altogether but he likes to have a long soak so we left it.
So what exciting things are coming your way this weekend girls? Barbicue, raves, visits or what? Let those of us that are being boring share your laughs.
Joanne D...Hi! WOW 71 you certainly wouldnt have thought it reading your posts. I lost my Mum 6 years ago, just before computers really took off in the home. Had she been with us now she would NEVER have gone to bed. She would have talked to people all over the world and stayed up in all their time zones. She was lovely and got on with everybody. She worked over here with TV and radio doing phone ins. She used to talk to people all night sometimes on the phone if they were lonely so she would have been a nightmare on here.
Anne that was a great card you did for Charlie....loved it, shes right you are very talented.
Ageoldie its going to be a race here as to who starts posting graphics first. Only joking, although I must say it seems to be taking me forever to get to 50 posts in order to make my mark.
Everybody else hows the weightloss going.....bit like me huh? I see to have lost my way a bit the last few weeks. I will get sorted. Lets know how you are all doing so we can cheer you on if youre winning. :cheer: Right I am off now so I will catch yous later... Pam

Angel- You are so right! It is just a number. I always say you are as old as you let yourself feel. If we keep our minds and body active we will be able to do more for many years to come.A healthy lifestyle goes a long way. I wonder about Grasshopper and Silk too. They just seemed to fade away. Maybe if they are lurking they will come back to us..
Pam- You will do it!! I was 212 at one time. It took me almost 30 years to make up my mind that I just couldn't keep eating all the fat and what I thought was the good things. I was increasing getting sick. I hurt all the time. I was spending a lot of time in the emergency rooms. Taking so much junk and just generally going down hill.I too could not get into a tub bath. I went back to WW for the 12th time and with no goals ,thinking that that time was just a waste of money again. But, I put on the blinders and threw everything that I wasn't supposed to eat out of the house. The birds got all my stash of baggy snacks. I lost almost 60 lbs.1-3 lbs a week ,one week at a time.I gained a little back when I stopped going to WW. I now go to TOPS . It is a support group.I am much happier there. I still use the WW 123 system. I have lost 20 more lbs. I now weigh 143 at my last weigh in. I am telling you this in the hopes that it may help you. South Beach diet is another good tool. Cutting the carbs helped me a lot. I do eat some carbs now, not many, usually not the white carbs. I try to walk 3 miles at least 4-5 times a week. I now enjoy my bath tub.Long soaks with a good book is just the thing .I have severe OA and the hot water makes me feel so good.
You can do this. I read where you were planning a trip to the States??
If you come near this part of Florida we should meet.
By all. I hope you are having a good weekend...Joanne

Happy belated Birthday Angel Lover and Joanne D. I hope you both had a good day for your BD.. I hope you were both pain free, had a good time. :hb: :gift:
There are a lot of new people here who I don't know. Hi everyone. I din't know you,but I look forward to posting back and forth.
I haven't really been posting lately, My 30th high school reunion is coming in July. I have been trying to track down an old friend. This is strange, why, because I have heard 2 different stories about My best friend in school. I asked around at a web site ( for looking up old school friends); if anyone had heard from her, two yrs ago This guy(john) my sister knew Left a post on the message board for me saying she had died. The next thing I hear is that the guy (john) doesn't remember writing the message. So I didn't know what to think. Then I saw are reunion was coming up, so I went to the reunion site and there I saw my friend (connie) on the memorial page. So I emailed the reunion staff and asked them to try to find out if she was alive or had passed away. They e-mailed back saying that they were pretty sure she was still alive. I have connies address now,the Reunion staff sent ti to me. So I am writing her a letter and I pray that she answers it. She has M.S. I will wait and see.
I have a question I've seen on serveral post the initial DH what does that mean. I assume its a spouse but can't figue out what DH means, maybe Dear Husband. Let me know.
I have to go back to the Doc again, this time for pain on my lower right sida and its tender on the upper right side, I don't know what it is, its either my intestines or my liver. I take a lot of meds that can effect the liver. I am a little concerned. I will let you know what happens
Take care everyone, best wishes to all. I hope everyone has a painfree day. :goodvibes  :sunny:
Hey Pam, good on you, getting all those tiles off. That is some hard work. I LOVE the bathtub. Somedays I do have trouble with it, but other times it is ok. I don't know about where you are, because most places have a free standing shower, but my shower is with the tub. You still have to get into the tub to have a shower. I like this system only because I find it easier to clean the tub than the shower. Sometimes, they do put both in, but most times it is just the one unit. I love a long soak, especially when all my old bones hurt
Good thing your Mom and my Mom didn't meet  They would have talked forever! She sounds like a lady that enjoyed life. I know my Mom sure did.
Joanne - Hi. Nice to talk to you on both threads. Still wish we could sit down at a real table and have coffee. You are right, of course. Age is only a number.
Angel - we can't stop time, so we all have to "roll with the punches!". The nice thing is, grandmas are ALLOWED to have gray hair, a few wrinkles and be a little rounder
Joanne, I have been eating well for years. Don't eat much junk food, never have. I do have a sweet tooth, which I have really gotten control of and rarely have that even. I try to watch my portions but still can't lose a pound. It is so terribly frustrating. I can't do South Beach, because it causes my heart to beat irratically even when I take a med for that. The Dr. told me it is a condition known as Acidosis. So, I am at a loss as to what to do. I know Meme says just eat what you want and know you can eat again if you are hungry. Works in theory, just won't let me lose.
My daughter and little grand daughter are coming to visit this weekend. They should be here around noon. Everybody have a great day.
Happy Canuk

Hi Laura. Nice to meet you. We must have posted at the same time. I hope you can contact your friend. That would be great. I would LOVE to go to a reunion and see everybody. I know that several have passed away and that makes me sad, because they were in their 40's or 50's and that is just way to young.
I hope they can find out what is causing that pain. Sure hope it isn't the liver.

Hi Laura just a quickie to say don't give up on finding your friend, I did. My best friend from school I found last year, 37 years on from leaving school. She had moved out to California in the early seventies and I caught up with her last year. Now we ring each other and email each other all the time. She is moving to Tenessee in the next couple of weeks so its a touch nearer the east coast. I am hoping one day she will go to her sisters in NY state and we will meet up in the City on one of the times I am there visiting my family. That would be great.....

When we play, we pay I forget which one of you said that, but boy do I relate. I did too much yesterday and paying for it today, and I really did'nt even have that much fun!
We are getting ready for Vacation Bible School at our church and we do "live" Bible stories for this. This year our theme is Jesus, My Friend. The class I'm in charge of is the story of when Jesus was 12 years old and stayed at the temple and Mary & Joseph had to go back looking for him. We have our "temple" all built and decorated and we have decorated a hall as the area of the caravan. So, I've had a combination of work and fun. But I'm paying for it today.
Anne I can't wait to try out the graphic sites. I've got PSP and took a online course in it and immediately forgot everything I knew.
Angel-lover glad you had a great birthday. I'm 57 and that big 60 seem closer and closer!
Pam, Where in the UK do you live? I live in Dallas TX and my husband has family in Chester England. I will never forget the first time they came to visit, they had plans to be all over the US in about 2 weeks time. They didn't realize how big this country is in space!
Talking about exercise, I do water aerobics every day and it's been my salvation. I usually exercise in a warm water pool, but sometime I get in the cooler water, either way, I can move my joints without pain, and that limbers me up for the whole day.
Hope everyone has a great day.

Active thread today! That's great....hope you all have had a very good day. Mine has been very busy. DH & several others started tearing the old roof off the house, & building up the remaining walls to start putting up the trusses (trussels....WHATEVER! :dizzy: ) tomorrow! I've been cooking & feeding & carrying cold water & drinks all day. :D Gonna be doing it again tomorrow. Maybe, just maybe I'll have my house back some day. ;)
:flow1:
AgeoldieDon't worry about your age. Just enjoy life. Wish I had a place to go for water aerobics. I'm sure it's relaxing. Found this....thought you all would like it  ...

PamGlad you finished those tiles. Wish we lived close by. I'd get my DH to put the tiles up for you. His work is floor covering. He does hardwood, carpet, tiles, ceramic, etc. He also does the walls & floors for bathrooms! He remodeled our bathroom just before the fire...it's lovely! Only received smoke damage...so, it's ok.

Angel Lover How cute! Don't I wish I could look like that. If I walked the beach like that ,they would lock me up.  I am usually in my old shorts and tee shirt with a baseball cap on. I try to be not seen. My time is very personal. Now I have been using the treadmil. Too hot outside.I guess as we get older we feel the heat more. Maybe ,I am just spoiled with the ac.
I haven't learned how to do the grafics. I can't put a picture on as I don't have a scanner. You wouldn't want to dwell on that anyhow.. I do enjoy seeing all the things that are put on though. Now Brad Pitt is really a dream. Tom Sellect is even better..

Hey I think I found how to do it again. The fonts forget it. Immagonnadoit,
I hope I find my friend like you did. I pray she is alive. You live England. I had a friend who went to England and she had culture shock. She said things were very different their compare to what she was used to. She said that she would have to put money in a machine inside the house to get heat, I not sure what kind indoor thing she was talking about. I know that it is very different living on the west coast compared to the east coast. I heard some people think we are still like cowboys and indians. I guess there are alot more people and things on the east coast. People even where totally different kinds of clothes, this girl Izzy was from florida, if you do not know where it is. It is located on the very southeastern coast. Anyway she said that girls her age (120something) do not wear jeans or very casual wear at least what is considered casual wear for me. I guess its different every where. I would love to go to England. I used to study a lot of your history, from live 800's up to the 1700's It was kinda a hobby. That was a long time ago.
I still can't get the hang of the fonts and stuff so I just won't try it for now. I guess I am not smart enough to get it :dizzy:
Happy canuck,
I have to agree with you guys on thinking we can do something then the next day you really pay for it. I have done that alot. I get stressed out bad about my daughter and boy am I sick the next day really bad, both with and fatigue. I hope that pain isn't my liver either. It isn't as bad like it was,in fact I don't feel any pain there at all today, Who knows whats going on with me. I wil go to the Doc. even though its better.
I really hope I can go to my reunion, but its like a 8 hour ride, if I go I am going to leave a few days early so I can rest, good thing I still have family in California. I can stay with them.
Angel-lover,
Thanks for the info. I thought DH stood for Dear Husband. How was Your B.D.? Can I ask how old you are? I turned 48 in March. What happened to Linus, didn't she live somewhere on the British Ilses( I hope I spelled that right)
Is this working?
I was doing pretty bad on my eating> I gained back 3 lbs. So I have started again. With a eating plan that I can stick to. One that is low fat and low carb but allows a few more carbs like 10 or 15 grams a day. And I added some fruits. I think I told you guys about ths already. I hope to losr 3-4 lbs or 1-3 lbs a week. I want to losr 25 lbs by Sept 12th My daughter Jenny (the one who doesn't stress me out) wedding

Stirfried! ....We are laughing withyou!! You can do this!!
Ok...For the above line, I put [B]Stirfried:[B]only with / in front of the last [B]. Then, after laughing, I put [B]with[B]on with / in front of the last [B].
Now....it's the same with everything else. Just type everything you want said in the post. (easier this way). Go back & highlight the area you want changed, & click on what you want. "font" "size" "color" "B" ...whatever. The [] and the [/] will be put in automatically at the beginning & at the end.
I now want to change the font...so I'm going to highlight the whole post. Click on "font" & choose "Georgia".
Ok...now, I want to make the print all red...so I highlight the whole post again, & click on "color" & choose "red"
I want to type the end of the post in Blue...so I just highlight this line...click on "color" & choose "blue".
You can do this manually, but, it's easier with the highlight & faster. Now, I go down to the button that says "preview post" & click to see how it's going to look.
Well...I made a couple of mistakes...so I corrected them & checked again.
Hope this helps.http://img61.photobucket.com/albums/v185/Angel-Lover/char.gif

[B]Okay, This is how I am doing this. I clicked on enhanced mode, then I click georgia and the (bold) alright now I just previed it. and it shows. [B] as you can see I am still not doing it all right but I am learning. I swear I have never had such a hard time with anything like I do with the fonts and ect.
I think I know how the word(undefined gets in there. I click on the guided mode and right, like this undefinedDo You see it, Now I am going to try to delete the word undefined.undefinedLets see if this works I am hitting preview now
I will now try it angel lovers way.
Hey guess what angel you way worked and it is sooo much easier with no confusing stuff like undefined or font color and all that added on. Alright everyone Just pray I remember this and it continues to work for me. I master it yet.
Okay girls Now I have been on my modidfied diet for 2 going on 3 days and so far I am doing alright
I started to workout today Just 7 min of cardio and I did some bun and thigh lifts (30 or more) I really want to get that bun and thigh roller they show on t.v. I have based my likts off of that roller, only I use my recliner to move back and forth up and down with my legs and then I squeeze. Boy I hope you understand what I mean. Anyway I sure can feel it in my thighs and buns.. Not much of a workout, but I had to start over and take slow or you know I will end up in pain and that will be it. for a few more days. I may have lost 1 lb in 2 or 3 days. Yea!! for me. How are you guys doing? Seven more days and I go visit my daughter jenny, the one who's getting married. My daughter I keep praying for. It has been so stressful, wondering if she is ever going to get well. She did say she would go to narcotics annyomous. I told her I would go with her.. I know if she start to attend that she will see there are others out there like her, and she will get to know the people and hopefully gain a support system for herself. I know that she has to go to more than 1 or 2 meetings, but hope she will see that it can help after a couple of weeks or so

Pam, CONGRATULATIONS I see that you have done it!!!
Laura, your post was so funny! Yes, we are laughing with you. Most of us have been where you are and it can be frustrating. I remember the first time I tried to post a picture on another site. I had lots of help, but still felt like a idiot!! Just couldn't get that through my head. Finally, I did it, and felt like I had made an amazing leap forward
Good for you, doing your exercises faithfully. I can't seem to do them. I have been walking up and down the stairs, instead of using the elevator. That is 3 flights at a time.
Angel, as usual, great graphics.
Joanne - the heat just drains me and makes me hurt too much. Like it around 24 or 25 (late 70's to early 80's) That is the most comfortable. We did end up with rain all day yesterday. That was great because we really need it. It has been drought conditions here now for the past 3 years or more.
I am not up to much today. Just washing clothes and straightening up. My daughter and grand daughter (she is 6) were here over the weekend and that was fun. Grandma got to play
Hope everybody has a nice day.

Gee thanks Charlie and Anne for your congratulations, it was lovely of you to post them but I was only doing what you two already do so no major deal. Its been a scorcher here today and tomorrow is supposed to be hotter. After having my surgery it kind of scares me going out in the sun. I have bought factor 60 sun cream and I am using that. I have still gone red on my arms and I was in my friends garden under a shade. Unreal! It is just beginning to cool a bit now and its nearly 11.30 pm. We dont have cool air systems so we just open all the windows and have fans on. Thats one of the weirdest things when I come over there, never having the windows open. I usually end up in the garden at about 6.30 am with my cuppa getting some fresh air. :coffee:
Stirfried you went to town on your colour change today, I am so glad you mastered it , you will putting animations and stuff on next. Well done you!!! Not only that well done to on your workout. Unfortunately the last few weeks seems to have gone to pot with my exercising cos of my OA and RA but hopefully I will get back into it once I have seen the Rheumy next week. I think I am going to go lie on my bed and watch TV for a bit so I will catch you all tomorrow I am sure.http://img70.photobucket.com/albums/v213/Virgoanspirit/animations/a04.gif

PamI have a feeling we're going to see a lot of great graphics from you! :D I'm trying to learn to make my own fonts, now. It's going to take me awhile...but, fun to learn something new.
Happy CanukI like your window man. I'm not up to much today, either. Felt bad today. We spent the last two days putting trusses up for the new roof & I've been doing a lot of cooking & fetching water, etc, for the gang doing the work. Sounds lazy....I'm not...just got RA. :(
Hello to everyone!! Stop by soon.
http://img61.photobucket.com/albums/v185/Angel-Lover/Number%20four/charlotte02.gif
Pam - it actually WAS an achievement. It is NOT easy to learn some of these things. I remember how good I felt the first time I posted a picture or graphic. It was wonderful! We keep our windows open as well. I do have airconditioning, but it is very hard on my sinuses, and I prefer the fresh air. It really doesn't get that hot here usually, until July/August and then only for a week or so that you really would like air. Mostly it is just comfortable. I live only about 3 hours from a mountain range, so the air cools off nicely in the evening.
Angel - Hope you are feeling better today. Doing anything extra sometimes takes it's toll. Othertimes, it is fine. It is a chance we take, everytime we attempt something. Darn chronic pain just gets in the way of fun
Hi Laura, hope you are still playing with the colors. That is fun as well.
Well, I am hoping that everybody is having themselves a good day. I washed clothes and mopped the floors yesterday. Today, I did me  Just all those things you need to do - so, I had a personal day :) Now, I am going to go shopping for a little while.

Hello,
I think I will wait a while before I move on to anything that is so challenging. You know me it would take the better part of a year to catch on, no just kidding. I will have to try iy soon.
Girls
I love all your graphics. I would really like to learn.
Today has been a bad day for me. I am really feeling the pain from the little bit of exercise I did yesterday. I hope I can do it again tomorrow. I know what you mean the pain makes it so hard to workout, even though it is suppose to be good for and help the pain in the long run. But its so hard to continue to do it when you are in pain.
I do not go back to the Doc. until the end of June. I am going to tell him to either change my Humira to something else or up the dosage. I take 10 mg. of methotrexate once a week. Every two weeks I give myself a shot of 40 millgrams of Humira.
Thats all for tonight going to go to bed real early tonight. Its like 6:10 p.m. But I am feeling so bad I don't care I just seem to need more rest. I had 12 off and on hours of sleep last night, but still felt the need to sleep, along with the pain.
take care I hope your day will be pain free.
