I'd love to try...but what would a reasonable goal be? I am on day two of Phase 1. Would fifteen pounds this month be impossible? Hmmm... :chin:

well its up to you on what you want in a month but honestly you should try and keep it low so you can reach it and be satisfied.If you set it too high and for some reason you don't make it there you will be very upset. but i do wish you the best of luck and girl i know we can do this:)

I think I might be good for a couple of pounds.
It gets harder and harder to loose a few but I really want to exchange some fat for muscle.

I'm probably too ambitious, but I'll shoot for 8 lbs. I wanted to be at goal by 20 May, but now that I've been on the beach for a while, I can see that that's pushing it. I have nearly 12 pounds to go, but I'm thrilled at the weight I've lost. Tummy is flattening, legs are sleek again -- this is the best ever! :goodvibes

I'm in for 8lbs. again this month. I didn't make it for April, only lost 4, but I'm gonna really try harder this month. I'm finding that the closer to my goal, the slower the weight loss. Good luck, everyone!

Since the past two months I've done 8, but tried for 10, I'm going to try for 8. I want an achievable goal. I didn't lose a single pound all week. I felt like I've been good, but I have increased the exercise. My clothes are feeling good. I'm having to buy new stuff.............oh darn :lol:

Hi, Puerto Rican Goddess!
The diet everyone in this area is referring to is the South Beach Diet, created by Dr. Agatston. There are several books out. The first one, The South Beach Diet (it's turquoise) describes the diet and gives you menus and recipes. The second is a cookbook that also outlines the diet and updates it a bit. There is also a third book called "Good Fats, Good Carbs", which I have not yet read. You can find the first book and the cookbook at almost any store from bookstores to Wal*Mart. It is a wondeful program! I am sure others in here can explain this much better than I can, but the book is something you can pick up and start reading now. :)

I'm getting my butt back on the beach! What is with weekends, I eat the same and I stay as still as anything on that scale! Anyway, I WAS down 38 then cheated one day and I'm back up four pounds ( I cannot see how cheating one day causes me to gain so much, but oh well)...so 34 is great anyway, but I want MORE! Yeehaa to all you chickies! Keep up the great work!

Elaine: It might be water retention. Drink lots of water and wait a few days and chances are your weight will be down.

I Am So Upset Guys:( Afte I Went Down To An Even 190 , I Weighed Myself And Now I Am Back Up To 193.5. I So Wanna Cry. But No I Know The Smallest Things Can Even Make You Gain That Nasty Weight Back So I Am Being Even More Careful About What And How Much I Eat And I Am Definatly Exercising With My Slim In 6 Tapes Everyday. Hi all! I'm a newbie and don't know what to expect for the first month but hey, I will set a goal of 10 lbs too -- what the heck!
Sticking to the strict phase really is ok -- so far! Now if I can garner enough non-sugar energy to get to the gym, we'll be set!

I don't really know what I'm "in" for this month. I have been as low as 186 in the past week and as high as back up to 190!!! I've been loyal to the gym every morning so I'm hoping it's muscle building because I do see a difference in my body shape and my clothes. :D
So, all THAT said, I want to reach my mini-goal of 178 by the end of the month. It's ambitious but I need to really push myself. I know I can do better about drinking my water and staying away from what Ruthxxx refers to as the "frankenfoods"! :fr:

Thanks for the word of advice...I'm unfortunately not a waterholic, I need to bone up on that. I do find that I usually lose the weight by Wednesday after a weekend. So you think I should just try drinking more on the weekends? I'll try anything just to keep up with the losses during the week! Thanks for your help!

I've been needing something to get me back on track. I was doing great for 2 months then hit a snag with being away for 3 weeks. Is it too late to join the challenge? I'll try for 4 lbs. That might be doable as I get closer to my goal! What the heck!!! Mary

I am so happy! I decided to join you in the May Challenge with a very modest goal of losing 4 pounds. I made it! I decided to post early as I may be going out any minute now on a national Red Cross disaster. I am on standby this weekend so I don't know for sure yet if needed. Hang in there-if I can do it moving at turtle speed, you can too!

Great job teacher58!! I wish I had have seen this thread earlier. Maybe we can start a June Challenge? I am not sure how the SBD forum works for this, if there is a person who usually starts them or if anyone can but I would love to join the challenge for June. It would definitely keep me in line.

Ozziesgirl, there is a Stickyt on the top of this page re the May Challenge.
Anyone can start a challenge. What ususally happens is that folks post to the "challenge" thread and then a MOD puts all the "pledges" together in one place for reference. The challenge starter usually posts the total results at the end.

teacher58, :bravo: on your loss! With so few pounds left, it takes much longer to lose the weight, or so I have heard. It is amazing that you have lost four pounds and you are soooooo close to goal!!! Yippee!
I finished my challenge early, but that had a lot to do with Phase 1. I wonder how I will do in June?
