i am loving this weather and loving wearing my new spring dresses. here's two dresses i bought last weekend on a shopping trek. the batteries on my camera kept dying so these aren't the BEST quality, but i thought i'd share. ;)

Looking great Holly :) :) I don't wear dresses right now, but I think once I loose a little more weight I might introduce them into my wardrobe. Great pics Holly..Indeed spring is in the air.

You look great Holly! Spring dresses make you feel so pretty dont they?? I just wished so many were not sleeveless...my batwings hang to much for sleeveless:(. I love the blue one but blue is one of my best colors. We are supposed to get an 80 degree day here today but so far the wind is really chilly.
04-29-2004, 11:37 AM
Great dresses Holly. They look good on you.
Tammy--Why not wear dresses now? I know for me it's always a pick-me-up to at least try on dresses because I know for me I can usually wear 1 to 2 sizes smaller than the rest of my clothes so I can at least say I have one outfit that's smaller :)

Those dresses are very pretty and flattering. I had to chuckle over you calling them "spring" dresses though - here you probably wouldn't be wearing thin, sleeveless dresses like that until August (unless you like the "goosebump" look). Having said that, I just heard on the radio that the temperature is presently 20c (about 70f I think), yet yesterday it was 3c and I was wearing my winter jacket!
Anyway, you look great Holly!

So pretty, Holly! Ah, to be able to wear sleeveless again. . .
04-29-2004, 05:53 PM
Holly, you look great!!
04-29-2004, 09:14 PM
Holly - They are to die for! And look absolutely gorgeaus on you.. I especially like the one on the left...
Ahhh, I can't wait to wear dresses again and not die of heat stroke in the summer as I'm covering all my skin....

Holly, you look great in those dresses! I think you might just inspire me......I haven't worn a dress in about 15 years or more....but I did try one on the other day, just for fun and inspiration.....maybe I'lle pluck up the courage to buy one soon!
04-30-2004, 10:51 AM
aww thanks, guys! i'm trying to inspire myself... did you know i haven't lost a pound since novemeber? well, i'll rephrase. i've re-lost but i haven't lost any virgin pounds since then.
i know, i'm lucky weather-wise. not as lucky as goddess jessica, but this week it hit 90 on monday and has gotten slightly cooler thorugh the week.. though i think it's supposed to be 80 today. with a breeze, so i do have a sweater on. and i heard next week it might hit 100! i grew up in sacramento, which is hotter than here, so to me it's not summer till it's nearing 100.
and yes, i know i'm spoiled and i could never live somewhere that it snows. i grew up a wuss, that's what happens to us california-bred people!
have a happy friday!!

I heard someone mention my name? Yes, our weather has been wonderful the last week. I even shaved above the knee for the occasion ;) Holly, the dress are cute. The blue ones says, "fun & flirty!" the other one says, "sultry & sexy!"
I have had such a hard time finding shorts! I have thin legs and all the shorts I buy are so full in the leg, that they make me look ridiculous! Like I'm wearing a really bad skirt. Lane Bryant had a pair of slimmer legged shorts but they wanted $40 for them. If this keeps up, I'm just gonna switch to skirts! :)
Anyone that's looking for a swim suit: Land's End is selling some DARN cute bathing suits in plus size!

Holly, you look so cute in those dresses. I have a few in my closet from 2 summers ago ( before I had Abby) that I hope will fit this summer. I guess were pretty luck here in KY. It doesnt get 90+ till mid July. Although, The spring rainy weather STINKS! It's gonna rain all day tomorrow for Derby, and I was going to go, it also rained on The Oaks today. Oh well. April Showers bring May Flowers! :flow1:

Amy Jo -
You'd be happy to know I threw a Derby Party today in good ol' California. :) My boyfriend is from Lexington and was a bit home sick for some bourbon and horse racing. So, we made mint julips, I made a great bourbon pecan bundt cake (no, not derby pie) and I wore an outrageous hat. We invited our Cali friends who had no idea what to expect but once we set up the betting pool and assigned horses, they all got into it! :)

I GOT A JOBBBBBB!
I start tomorrow, 8a-5p, more $$ than I was previously making, not too far from the old place.
Temp agency called this am to ask if I was interested, yes, yes I was. Faxed my resume & test scored over to the one doing the hiring, who said, "I don't need to interview her, I like what I see, CAN SHE START TOMORROW" WHEEEEEEEEEE!!!!
So Happy Cinco de Mayo to everyone, thank you for all the well wishes, I'm off to get dinner!
05-05-2004, 11:17 PM
Congratulations! What a great way to celebrate Cinco de Mayo! I hope you really like it--more money is fabulous.

Woohoo! WTG SAPF! I love it when things work out even better than what you originally had! Let us know how your first day goes!
05-06-2004, 11:31 AM
Great news SAPF! Talk about it being spring and starting things anew and all - good for you!!
Sheila, did you hear back from your potential daddy care-giver yet (re trip to Chicago)?
05-06-2004, 12:10 PM
I did. She can't do it. I haven't been able to find anyone else yet, and I've been working at it daily. :( So cross your fingers and toes, please!
05-07-2004, 01:30 AM
Well that was short-lived.
Just checked the messages on my cell phone. The job doesn't want me back. How badly could I screw up in 8 hours that they didn't want me back?
The whole reason I didn't go to the job fair on Wednesday is because I thought this job was going to be for 4 months. Gah.
So. That is my day. How was yours?
How are you feeling, Sheila?
05-07-2004, 11:21 AM
SAPF - Sorry to hear that you didn't get called back for the job. They must be crazy! 8 hours on a new job is not long enough for a person to have an opportunity to show what they are capable of! Doesn't sound like they would have been a terribly supportive place to have worked. Boo to them!
05-07-2004, 05:34 PM
Thanks Kris!! :)
Well, I called the temp agency, apparently I made a mistake when I was making copies. Instead of correcting me, they just told the temp agency they didn't want me back.
I have to say, I've never used such a big fancy copier before. Oops.
I will find something, just gotta have faith. :)
What is everyone doing for Mother's Day? I got my mom a box of Godiva, and a book.
She also wants to go to Boerner Botanical Gardens. Everyone & their mother  will be doing that, so we're not sure. Also, I'm allergic to pollen. I'll do what she wants, but not something that's going to kill me.
I think that is pretty dopey to not want you back because you made an error because you've never used a particular copier before! Probably just as well, any place that has that attitude is probably not worth working for.
You gotta know it is spring...I've jumped right into home renos! Today I started working on the front and back porches, they both need to be painted and I also put some seed on the lawn and watered it. It was a good day to do all this as it was cool but I was working hard enough that I was warm enough just in my t-shirt. I love spring, I wish it was this weather all year round.
05-07-2004, 10:09 PM
To bad about the Job. That sucks. I'm sure something better is right around the coner.
05-08-2004, 06:17 PM
SAPF - Sorry about the job!! I know you will find the right job soon! My mom is getting dinner at Outback (her choice) and a swarovski crystal snowflake - we both collect them and she broke her 2002 one, so I replaced it. My dad got her one every year - would it be bad to put one under the tree every year from my Dad anyway??
Jen - It is spring here too. I spent about 4 hours out in my gardens today pulling weeds. Bought some coco bean mulch that still needs to be put down. I am going to try an new technique to curb the weeds this year - it's called Lasagna Gardening (http://ourgardengang.tripod.com/lasagna_gardening.htm) You are actually supposed to do all these layers with compost and stuff, but a friend of mine said the layers of newspaper and the mulch works all by itself, so I am going to give that a try. I HATE to weed!!!
Howie - Glad to see you back!!! I missed you!! Is your wife back too??
Holly - those dresses are REALLY cute - and now you have the cute little figure to put in them. SO you say you haven't lost any virgin pounds. Sometimes maintaining is just as hard. So give yourself a great big pat on the back for not gaining!!!!
I am doing pretty well. I went back to work on Friday and am doing my best to keep my mom busy. I bought the Dr. Phil book and plan on getting back to business on Monday (*sigh* - I know waiting until Monday is ridiculous - so typical!!!!).
I am getting excited about Chicago!!! Still have to make my reservations!! But I will get that done soon. I think we have until the 25th. I'll double check on that!!
Thank you guys for being so supportive during this tough time. You can't know how much it means to me!!
05-10-2004, 10:55 AM
Sandi - I think that the crystal under the tree from your dad is a fantastic idea! I'm sure that your father would be pleased that you are continuing his tradition! Very sweet.
05-10-2004, 11:07 AM
Hi Sandi, Kimberley has hurt her hand and she is having trouble keeping up with the gardening site we belong to. She said she will be back.
