Default "SUPER DIET" 25-30lbs in a month

I have heard of this super diet, where you eat nothing but
1. Flax Seed Oil.
2. Hot Rox
3. Super low carb GROW! shake
4. Water
Ocasional egg or tuna ( VERY like every 10days ONE of them )
You are suppost to only do this for 1 month, and this is a good way to "KICK START" a diet. I have decided to do this and then I can learn over a month and read the book how to do atkins properly. This way there is no question what to eat since there is basically only 4options!

That sounds bloody awful. Why would anyone do that to their body?

My theory is, it took you ages to put ON the weight you currently carry, so it's going to take a proportionate amount of time to lose it properly again. Fad diets are scary.

I have to agree with Raven on this!

You didnt put the weight on overnight.. it isnt going to come off overnight. Why would you put yourself through something like this when you can only do it for a month? That tells you right there that it isnt healthy for you.

Wouldnt it be better to take the time to read the book and learn properly? a week or so more before starting atkins wouldnt hurt at all!

One thing you might want to think about is how you are looking at this. Atkins is NOT a diet. It is a Way of Life/Way of Eating. Once you start Atkins, if you want the weight to stay off, you will eat this way for the rest of your life. Sure you can have the occasional Pizza or cookie, pasta and other things, but to truely be healthy, and remain healthy, you have to look at it as the way you will eat forever. Once you read the book, (And read it cover to cover, dont skip the first 10 chapters!) you will not only be armed with how to eat this way, but why you want to for the rest of your life! It makes sense, and I am living proof, along with many others here, that it works not only to help you lose weight, but to stay healthy. (read the Blood work threads!)

I am sure Star can give you even more examples on why it works.. but I can tell you, that you have to change how you look at it if you want it to work for you!

Besides, could you really stick to eating like that? I know I couldnt...

That too! Remember, part of losing weight is learning to be healthy and adding healthy habits into your life..

It is also learning to love yourself!

No offense, but are you nuts??? Basically its a 30 day protein drink fast. I understand that you want to loose the weight fast, and atkins has to be the best for that goal, as well as teaching you how eat properly.

So if your going to do this, why not 7 days, it wont take 7 days to read the book will it? Then on the 8th day you can start fresh.

I seem to recall a very famous talk show host (Oprah) who did the protein shake diet, lost heaps of weight, then very promptly put it back on. Besides your going to be hungry and anxious from the hotrox......personally Id rather eat and supplement with protein shakes than live on them alone.

Which ever you choose, I wish you luck

A month is an awefully long time to go hungry. I'm sorry but I can't see any good coming out of that one. You may lose large amounts of weight fast, but it doesn't seem healthy in the least. Go to the store, buy the book.. it took me one night to read up to the induction part of it and I started the next morning, I finished reading the book afterwards. It tells you on those pages in black and white exactly what you can eat. It gives a list of foods and you are to eat only those foods. There is no guess work.
Just my 2 cents.

And they say Atkins is bad for your health? That sounds like a recipe for disaster. Where's the veggies? Decent protein? And whatever "hot rox" is--it sounds gross and painful!
Yup, we'll support your decision but if you're looking for our advice? It's a no-go.

I hope you don't mind me poppin in but I just had to comment.

Frodo--Do you remember the last time you were posting (before the holidays) and all you ate was tuna, tuna, and more tuna???? No variety means quick boredom which leads to binge binge binge.

This "kick start" you want has got to come from self motivation....nothing is going to do it for you, take it from me, I'm still looking for that motivation.

The weekend is coming up...that gives you two days to read the book. Don't skim and don't assume....just read. Then, starting Monday you can start your induction. It would be a MUCH more healthier way to start losing weight than to starve yourself with the little list you provided. You may lose weight from it but your body is going to seek revenge and cause you to overeat later.

Be Careful!!! If your seeking ideas as to what to eat during induction...take a look at these ladies (and gents) food logs.....that should give you a good idea as to what to eat and also give you VARIETY!!

Ok....Just wanted to pop in and say my 2cents worth.
