Dear Selina,

Thanks so much for the welcome. :)

Your name sounds so familiar and I'm thinking that maybe when I was on these boards before that we were on the same thread posting.

Can't remember what the name of it was thought. *lol*

By the looks of your ticker - you've done great with losing. Keep up the good work! :)

Love,

Jennelle

G'morning!!! :coffee:

Thanks Jennelle! We may have been. I was on alot in Spring 2005. Just glad to be back. Being able to post my good and bad days on here helps me so much. It gets alot easier after a week or so for me. I also handwrite everything I eat with cals and fat next to it, how much water I drink, my steps etc for every day. That way when I have a week or two where I don't lose, I know WHY! It's true too. My best losses come from weeks where I stay on track. (Of course, huh? LOL) Anyhoo, post as often as you need to to be able to keep yourself on track. I'm on here alot lately. But I need it. I will need to post several times a day for a few months. Then I will be in such good habits again that I will only need to post once or twice a day. :cp:

I have also come to realize that if I DON'T post every day for the rest of my life that one day I could revert back to old bad habits, probably during high stress times. :hungry:

So here I am! And here I plan to stay. :jig:

Take your time. Habits don't just form. Your body has to be eating those good foods for a few weeks to start really craving them. I learned to stop expecting myself to change overnight. I lead myself to each thing slowly. Like walking. I had almost stopped, when b4 I could walk several miles no problem, after starting at only 10 mins a day. :tread: I gradually added time. Then it seems like almost no difference. You trick yourself because the change is slow enough not to make you hate it. Knowing that has helped me when I fall. I just tell myself to go slower with it. :faint:

Like I didn't drop my calories so far at first. First, I just wrote down what I ate. I saw it was too much. :cbg: So I came down slowly. I was eating about 3000 cals a day. I went to 2600 I think. Then to 2000 after another week. Then I went to 1800, then 1600, etc. Now I eat about 1200-1375 usually a day. But I came to realize also that I can literally eat that in one small bowl, if it's junk food. But it now takes 3 meals and a snack to add up to that because I'm eating beans, lean meats, rice, less bread, little junk, more veggies, honey nut cheerios (the best snack ever)etc. So WHAT you eat matters more than ppl say. Yes, the cals need to be right but wouldn't it feel better to be full 3 times a day than to eat once and that be all your cals and then you are hungry the rest of the day? Not good for me. Hunger bothers me alot. :tantrum: So I eat 3-4 times a day, sometimes 5 or 6. :chef:

Ok, I will stop rambling. :soap: I hope some of that helps. I have read so many books, and I have just been losing ever since I can remember. (Oh and gaining back of course. LOL) I got heavy at 4 yrs old. So my whole life has been about how to find a way to lose and be normal. I doubt I'm ever gonna be what others want me to be, but I'm ok with that. If they aren't happy with me, that's their problem. But I will say that I'm much happier a bit thinner than I am now. So I proceed!!!! :carrot:

Thank you all for listening, esp. on my bad days. :grouphug: It helps me alot to have a place to vent and to also support others. That helps me stay on track too.

Have a great day everyone! I'm cheering for you, Jennelle! And everyone here! We can do this! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Hi Selina,

Thanks so much for posting on here and yes, you did encourage me alot and also gave me a great idea!

Though I've tried starting them before [weight loss journal] ... I just now remembered that I have a new [big] journal in which to write down everything I eat each day.

Also I can chart my steps each day once I get my pedometer.

I imagine that if I write "everything" down and then can look back to the prior week, it would help alot!

Oh good ... now I'm excited about this [keeping the journal thing] and hope that I can follow through with it this time and not just write things down for a few days and then quit.

The one thing that might help is this time it's a real journal and not a boring old notebook. *lol*

Have a good day!

Love,

Jennelle

Just stopping back by to say that I had a pretty good day and didn't eat anything that I shouldn't have. [Yea!!] :)

Hopefully tomorrow will be just as good ...

I can't wait to get my pedometer 'cuz I think when I do, I'm gonna post on the exercise board a virtual trip that I am going to make.

I'm going to go and visit Dale Earnhardt Jr. [for those who aren't into NASCAR like I am, he's a race car driver. :)]

Anyways - it's something like 800 and some miles to get to from where I'm at, to where Dale Jr. lives so if 2,000 steps = 1 mile, atleast I have a goal and can keep track and it'll help to motivate me.

Should be fun or atleast it sounds like it anyways 'cuz I've read where others have taken a virtual trip [meaning that I'd do my walking here but would chart how far I've gone each day until I arrive at the full distance to get there.]

I'm sure you already knew that but for some reason ... well, as you can see, I'm long winded and feel as if I need to explain everything. *lol*

I haven't started my journal yet as I planned on doing today 'cuz I was too busy to do it. May try later this evening or if not, try again for tomorrow to get it started.

Love,

Jennelle

Hello Ladies. This is the thread I need.

I can't wait for the scale to read 199.
I am on WW and have been maintaining for a while now. I know it's because I stopped journaling. I add up the points in my head and then when I get close to my target i stop counting. I NEED to start journaling again too and keeping up with my excercise. On Jan 1 i made a goal to do my elliptical 3 to 5 days a week. This is the first week I did it 5 days. (my weeks start on friday) I would love to join this group and get the motivation I need to keep going.

Jennelle, I do know Dale Jr. I'm a huge NASCAR fan myself. Jimmy Johnson is my driver. :cheer2: :cheer2: Can't wait for Daytona 500.

Good Night

Debbie

Sunshine: Welcome, when I read your post. It was exactly what I would write. I also go to WW. I've maintained for several months because I haven't been journaling or exercising. Maybe we can motivate each other.

Jenelle: I would crawl to get to Dale Jr...I'm a big Nascar fan.. WOO..HOO Can't wait. I hope I get to our race in April.
I walk a lot on my job but I bend a lot and The pedometer I used before wasn't accurate. The new one's might do better. I might try one again.

Selina: Great advise, We are glad to have you here.

Holly, Ellen, Susie: Good morning chicas. :grouphug:

Big day, I got to go

HI to all Have a wonderful weekend!!!

I had my weigh in this morning and i'm up 1.8lbs :censored: I drank my water, did my elliptical, watched my portiions, and still gained. The only thing I didn't do was journal. I did start noticeing my clothes fitting better this week. That's a good sign ~ i'm happy with less inches.

Ellen~ Happy Birthday :hb:

Debbie~ When is your weigh in day? I'll take all the motivaion you got.

Have a nice evening everyone.

Hi Debbie! Thanks. I'm glad you are here. I love knowing others who have lost alot. You GET it when I talk about changing it all. You just about have to change everything, the way you see things even, to succeed. I am so happy to be here, to have others to talk with about it all. :carrot: People who aren't losing get tired of hearing how I passed up cake, and got my steps in, etc. So thanks! I'm sorry to ramble on sometimes. :soap:

Hi Ellen! Woohoo! Great job with your exercising. :cp: Happy Birthday! :balloons: Hope you have a great time out. :)

Welcome Sunshine! :welcome: Don't fret about the lbs. It's all a process and you never know what the dang scale is going to say. Remember you are going to gain muscle is you move more than usual and you can retain water at different times also. Just keep on and it'll show. I know, I've been there.

Jennelle!! You are doing great. :cp: I started journaling again and it's helped so much. I even jot down the time I'm eating etc. It helps me to see what times I'm hungry (so I can prepare like if I'm going to be gone then, bring something so I won't need to stop for bad food). I tied a pencil to my journal and leave it in the kitchen. I am back in the habit pretty easily I noticed. Guess because I did it every day for nearly two years. And I plan to continue forever, if that is what it will take. I have learned by watching myself through them that I don't really get hungry til noon, I eat lite then. Then I eat a huge meal about 5pm and I'm happy with a little snack an hour b4 bed, like grapefruit or hot tea. So knowing that makes me aware of myself and my habits and what might need tweaking in the schedule or whatever.

I tried to retrain myself. They say eat alot in the a.m., some in the afternoon, and less at nite. Nope. Not for me. And I lost 79 lbs. going by what was best for me. Yes, stress, a family illness, my husband was ill too, moving and my preemie newborn who also had been in the hospital twice made it very hard on me the last 18 months (my baby is a joy, she didn't make it hard, just all of it together at the same time, she is such a sweet and easy going baby girl) and with no time at all for me and I was so exhausted, I gained some back but I'm here again!!! I'm not giving up. No matter how hard it can be. I'm in for the long haul.

Where do you do your virtual tour thingy at?? Can you choose any location? I would love that. As a matter of fact, I did one but it wasn't mile for mile. It was odd.

Well, I am at 415 cals, 6 gms of fat for the day and 9727 steps so far. I will eat again. And finish my steps then I'm off to bed early. DS has basketball in the a.m. DH is coaching as usual. I'm sleepy already. Not good. LOL. We have been unpacking all day today too. I can't wait to get done.

Have a great nite!!!

LOL I forgot to tell you all. My daughter is 19 mos. And it was so cute today; I was jogging in place. And she always wants to hug my legs when I do that, for some reason. LOL. Today she did, so I hugged her. Then she stood by me and was marching in place. So cute!!!! I said, "Are you doing your exercise?" So later then my DH was in here and I said "Show Daddy your exercise", and she did it! I love it! And she shares my water with me too. I am glad that some of what I am doing is teaching them good habits too. Makes me happy. :D

Hey friends,
I'm HUNGRY!!! I've cooked some pork for green chilie stew
I just cooked the meat and will let it cool overnight and skim all the fat off. Then finish it up tomorrow. Smelling it made me hungry.
I need to do some catch up journaling...as usual.

Dh is sick again. week before last he had a bad headcold no biggie, then the doctor changed his bp meds and the new ones didn't work. We had several days of his bp being way up he said he felt bad, now he has either gotten a stomach virus or ate something bad...JEEZ. Poor dear.

Ellen: :woo: :hb:

Sunshine: My wi are on Wednesday. I need all the help I can get. Not only have I fallen off the wagon, but the wheels fell off the wagon right behind me. I've not giving up... I just keep plugging on. In hope that I find a new wagon...LOL

Selina: Good job setting healthy examples for your daughter.

Debbie, sorry to hear your DH is sick. Hope he gets better soon.

I'm doing ok today on food but my exercise is no good. Never is when my DH is home, not bc he tries to stop me but bc he coaches the team for my son and we are gone on Sat til noon then we go to pizza buffet or whatever where I have to read after eating my bit of food to keep from over doing it. Then back home and I've been helping him put together the new basketball goal. Here hunny, hold this. And can you hand me two more washers and that wrench there? LOL. So now we are almost done with that, and I need to go get on the treadmill. I don't like doing it at nite, bc I'm tired by then and not in a great mood. Anyhoo, wish me luck that I find motivation to hit my 10k steps today. :faint:

Have a great evening everyone! Hope your day went well! :cheer:

Selina, your little one sounds adorable. :)

You asked about the virtual trip [walk] and yep, that's what I did, was just to pick somewhere ..

I then went to Mapquest and put in where I'm at and the city of where I want to go and that gave me the total mileage.

Dale Jr. & My Virtual Walk

I'm hoping it'll motivate me [I'm sure that if Dale Jr. were really at the other end, it'd motivate me even more though.]

It's nice to meet everybody 'n I guess I should have known that even if by chance someone weren't a NASCAR fan - all the ladies would know who Dale Jr. is. *Giggle*

Actually my #1 is Ryan Newman ... don't ask why I'm not on my way to see him [could be 'cuz I'd be afraid if I walked all that way ... that his wife might be there when I got there. *LOL*] Just kidding! :dizzy:

My Pedometer's here!

I got my pedometer yesterday in the mail ... wow, that was fast 'cuz I ordered it in the middle of the night on Wednesday,

they mailed it out on Thursday and I got it on Friday. Can't beat that, huh?!

I haven't messed with it yet but will probably do that tomorrow so I can have it ready for a fresh start on Monday. :)

Neither good, nor bad

I didn't really do either good, nor bad today with my eating.

I guess I could have done a bit better for really, I know for what I did eat ... that I won't gain from it either.

Anyways - have a good night gals and I'll either see you tomorrow sometime or on Monday.

Love,

Jennelle

YAY! There's a thread for this AND it's active, even better as I seem to be a bit of a thread killer. I haven't been under 200 lbs, in I can't remember how long. I've bounced between 240 and 255 for so long it seems, and just when I think I'll finally hit under 240, I get pregnant, and since we don't plan to start trying for our next and LAST child until Jan 2008, now seems the time to get it all under control. I'm closer to ONEderland than I've ever been so, I know if I can just hit that magical number of 199, it'll be the motivation I need to hit the rest of them. So, if noone minds, I'd like to join the challenge.

My name is Angi, I'm 31, and I have 2 kids, a daughter who is 3, and a 17 month old son, so needless to say, we're a busy busy house. I plan on picking up the book "Fat Smash Diet" as it seems to incorporate plenty of whole foods and a lack of dependancy on caffeine and white foods, sugar, flour etc and to really stress the need for excersize, every day. My daughter is gluten intolerant, so my home is already used to whole grain breads, pasta's etc, so there shouldnt be any issues with that, but the lack of sugar may kill us all.

Good luck to us all!

Welcome Angi! :)

I'm new to the thread as well and was thrilled to find it.

I haven't been under 200 - atleast for 6 years and this time I'm determined to do it [and we can!!]

Hi All!

I just spotted this thread and am SOOOO excited to find it! It's EXACTLY what I need to do right now to keep me going! I have to go make lunch for my family but will be back to read all the thread very soon! Woo-Hoo!

I have ten more pounds before I am in ONEderland!

Hi and welcome to Angi and Cheryl!! :welcome2: We are so happy you have joined us. I found it recently too and I love it. It's what I need too. I want to be in Onderland very badly! :tantrum: Drives me nuts! LOL.

So Angi I like how you have your dancing carrots so Imma add something for each 10 lbs too. Hmm.. let me see what I want there..

Today isn't going so well. I have gotten a headache and I never get them. And I cannot find my bottle of Tylenol that I just bought, so I'm trying to use mind over matter and make it go away. So far, no luck. :(

I'm at about 4000 steps today. :tread: I have decided to hit 5,000 on weekend days and 10000 on week days. With my family all home from work and school, there is no time for it! So I will do what I can when I wake up then let it go.

Doing ok on food for the last week. Actually better than I thought I would do. Yay for that! :cp: I just want to make it all a habit that I don't have to think about as much.. In time, in time.

My computer is acting weird, so I have to hurry b4 it doesn't let me send this!

Have a great day! Oh, I will be weighing in the a.m. 2mrw, and will post after. Hope it goes well or I might have to start weighing every 2 wks.

Hugsssssss Selina

Hi Selina!

Thanks for the warm welcome! LOVE your picture! You look like you are an actress!:)

I have spent a couple HOURS reading the first ELEVEN pages of this thread! There were so many good ideas and tips that I copied a bunch down! I keep a journal full of interesting ideas, good thoughts and positive words and pictures as well as successes that I have accomplished along my weight loss journey. Reading it helps me keep focused and positive when I falter and when I just can't seem to make the scale move.

I am GREAT at maintaining weight (have been 210 for EIGHT MONTHS!) but LOUSY at dipping below that weight!:( I finally lost a pound the other day, so I am hopeful that I can DO THIS THING!

I REALLY want to see the scale register one hundred SOMETHING after being TWO HUNDRED something since about 1980!:(

I'm really excited about finding all of you here!

Good morning Everyone !:D
I am going to give this a shot. I would love to make my goal by Easter- but it might be the end of school. I am doing WATP and trying a couple of other tapes(lots of modifications though).
I have been lurking here for a couple of years. I have shared the link with friends. I have always been a large woman. I had lost a little weight a couple years ago and then I got pregnant at 40.I kept my weight under control- but in the past couple of years things went haywire.
Here's the basics:I have three kids ( 2,13 and 21),SAHM,we have a small Ebay bussiness and live out in the sticks. I am a foodie who loves to cook- but I also love to work in the yard to- which will help me get this under control.
This week's goal is to continue with 1-3 miles a day each day and also try a second work out if possible a couple times this week

Cheryl14

Hi Sirak!

Welcome to 3FC!

I'm a WATP devotee, too! In nice weather I walk outdoors, but the cold and snow drives me back indoors for my workouts. I like the 4 Mile Super Challenge. How about you?

I enjoy cooking and baking, too, and also love working out in the yard when it isn't covered with a couple feet of snow, that is!

Walking is such an awesome activity. Several years ago I went to Florida with my friend and walked for two hours in the gorgerous weather before anyone got up. I lost ten pounds while I was there!

Your plan sounds good. Glad to have you here with us.

I post on the 100 Pound group, the Support group and also the Exercise group of this site. There's SO much here and so many wonderful people who are ready and willing to support and encourage. I was so happy to have found such a great place. I have ten pounds to go to reach ONEderland (199). I can't WAIT!

Welcome Cheryl! :) Wow - you don't have far to go at all to get under 200 and I know you can do it!

This thread is just what "I" needed to find as well and am so glad that I did!

Selina, I hope your headache is better by now ... I don't usually get them either [well, except for when my sinuses act up, etc.]

Oh yeah ... when ya decide where you're going on your "virtual" trip - let us know, k? :)

Welcome Sirak ... I'm glad that you found us, it's so much easier being accountable to someone, isn't it?

Good news this morning!

I weighed myself this a.m. when I got up and guess what?

I lost 2 pounds!! :carrot: :carrot:

I now only have 2 pounds to go to reach my 1st mini-goal.

My Virtual Trip - You're gonna laugh

Okay ... so I am making a little revision to my virtual trip.

Don't laugh but 800 and some miles just seems like it's an un-obtainable goal for some reason so....

I'm still going to see Dale Jr., but instead of my counting 2,000 steps as 1 mile [which I think that's pretty standard for how many steps are in a mile],

I am going to count every 1,000 steps as 1 mile.

Am I cheating

At first I thought it would almost be like I was cheating but then thought ...

Hey - this is my virtual trip and if I want to count 1,000 steps as a mile, why couldn't I? *lol*

I mean - the end result will be the same, atleast I am moving more than I have for a long time.

So, that's what I'm gonna do.

Have a good day!

I hope you all have a good day ... so far mine is pretty good, I haven't eaten anything yet so haven't done any damage with the diet.

Yes, I know we are supposed to eat breakfast but I never have really 'cuz I'm not hungry in the a.m.

And, also - it seems that once I start eating for the day ... watch out, I wanna eat everything in sight.

Anyways, gonna get for now but will talk to ya more soon. :)

Love,

Jennelle

WOW!! This thread is hopping now. It got so slow during the holidays I felt like I was talking to myself... Glad to have everyone.
I have not been doing well. I need you guys. I have some very self-destructive behaviors in this area. I overeat when I'm upset, depressed, awake or whatever. It seems like I would be doing great with the loss I've had so far. but I have hit a wall... For months now.
I have a couple of WATP dvd's but I just can't seem to get going...:?:

Hi Sirak!! Welcome to our little corner of the world!!! :welcome: :balloons: So glad you have joined us here! The more the merrier I say! :grouphug:

Hope you all are having a great day. We put up the new basketball goal the other day and since my dh coaches my son's team, I figured that I could get some steps if I play too. :strong: So today I got about 2000 steps in no time just shooting hoops with them. It was fun too! LOL :cheer:

I don't know what my trip will be yet..:?: I will let ya'll know!!

Oh and ... drumroll... ... .... I lost 3 lbs. this week!! :goodscale: I am down 6 1/4 inches this month!!! :carrot: (I measure bust, waist, hips, thigh, calf, neck, bicep and wrist about every two weeks or so.)

I am off to change my ticker and my avatar to the 45 lb chick!!! Can't wait to put the 50 back up too. :D

Hey Debbie! Just saw you wrote. I'm sorry you are having a hard time getting into it all. :( I went thru that too. I totally can relate to that. Just try for 5 minutes every day. Once you get used to making some time for it and all that, you will be able to add minutes.

I had to start small again, like when I first began. It might help you too. And of course I KNOW you know what to do to lose. You have lost more than me, almost twice as much! That is so cool. You can do this. Don't be so hard on yourself. Hope you have a great day at work! :cheer:

Cheryl! Thanks so much for the sweet compliment. I don't hear them that often. LOL. I carry my weight in my belly and hips and thighs so you can't tell so much in that pic. Ah well, no one is perfect! :D

Glad you are here, really. I love having people who have lost already because they GET IT. (I know I've said that somewhere else on here but it's true!) It means alot to have ppl who understand what we are going thru. I am ready to be in Onederland too. Let's do it, ladies!!!!

Also, would it be okay with everyone if I start a February Chicks Racing to 199! (Or any name ya'll want, I haven't really thought of a new one yet.)I know some of us won't get there that month but just to refresh our thread since this one has sooooooooooo many pages to it, etc.??? Let me know what you think. If you all would rather stay on this one, that's fine too, I'll stay too. But just thought we could start anew, all of us who are actively on here at this point.

Ok, so far, doing great today. Feeling good, almost to 10k in steps, used treadmill this am, then played basketball, then housework, lol. So good day today. Yay. :)

Hope ya'll have a great nite!!!

I think making one thread per month makes ALOT more sense. This is difficult to find sometimes, I had to subscribe to it. Also, it would be easier to roll over our total losses, month to month, by finding Feb/March etc, kwim?

 Hi Everyone,
There are a lot of new people on the board. It's nice to have the excitment here again.

I'm going through a tough time right now with losing my job (and I'm not sure I'm going to get unemployment) but I'm trying to press on.

I'm meeting with a staffing agency tomorrow. There isn't much here in my home town so I'm going to Dayton to registar with a agency there. Any advice on what ones are better than others? I have heavy customer service and Admin. skills.

I am happy to report a 1 lb loss last week. Not setting the world on fire but the scales are going in the right direction each week. I'm a little off track this week and I'm trying to get back on track.

I want to say Hi to all you new people.:welcome:

and give a hug to Debbie  what can we do to help you get back on track? I would encourge you to come to the board every day to get yourself motivated.

Ok. I'll talk to everyone later.

Welome to all the newbies.
I'm new here too and i love it!

Selina, i look foward to reading your post. You always have nice things to say and your a great motivator.
Starting a february thread sounds like a good idea to me.

Susie, Congrats on your 1 lb. loss. Good luck with unemployment. My husband lost his job on Jan 3rd and we're still waiting for an unemployment check. I've been a SAHM for 7 yrs and now looking for a job myself. My husband wants to change careers and the training that he'll need is 16 weeks and doesn't pay well so i'll need to get back to work soon. I had an interview this morning that i think went well so now i'm waiting to hear either way. :crossed:

Debbie (and anyone else interested), why don't we make a goal to start journaling on feb 1st. We can also set an excercise goal for the week. Obviously yours would be wednesday and mine would be friday but we start the journaling feb 1st. We could also swap WW tips and recipes that we've tried. We've both fallen off the wagon and need to start journaling again so whatta ya say? Anyone else interested? :)

Good Night.

Good Morning everyone!!!! :coffee:

Welcome to Brooke!!! :welcome2: So happy to have you here! We are starting to grow quite a bit at this point. I think that is great. We are all going thru the same thing, so it's great to have each other to chat with and vent to! :soap: LOL. I think it is great that you are so close 2 Onederland. I can't wait to be where you are. :cp:

Thanks, Sunshine. That was real sweet of you to say. I'm glad you like my posts. I write alot though. I'm sorry if that gets on anyone's nerves. I just know that if I'm not on here, there is no one else to talk with about my journey. I'm pretty much alone in it.

Oh and Susie and Sunshine, I hope the job hunt goes well. I know it can be frustrating.

I am doing really well lately getting on my treadmill in the mornings after the kids get on the bus. I just have the baby then. Then we get my son from Pre-k at 11. I just have those two til 4pm. So besides him wanting me to play with him in the toyroom most of that time, I get my housework done and dinner started (after we have lunch here). But all during the day I move. I move as much as I can. I think I said on here b4, I jog in place and look like a lunatic several times a day.

My hot water heater is in the attic, dunno why, and it takes forever for it to get down here. So in my kitchen I wait alot. For that, for things to cook or boil or bake, for the microwave, I even march in place while drying my dishes too. I have to do this because with a baby I can't just go running down the street to get my steps (I love walking outside though, when I can.):running:

And yes, I've tried the stroller. She gets to where after maybe 10 mins. she wants out. So I gave that up and bought the treadmill. :woops: Anyhoo, I find ways to add the steps. I actually wrote an article about it. LOL. I wonder if the link would show here?? I can try to put it. Let's see....

http://walking.about.com/od/holiday/a/busyholidays.htm

Might have to copy and paste. Let me know if you want to read it and the link didn't work.

One of you, who? Debbie? said you do the same thing. Move all the time. And your kids think your nuts? Well, that's me. I have to do it or I don't lose near as much. So when my shows are on, I get on my treadmill or march in place. I tell myself "Is sitting there worth finding that I haven't lost at the end of the week?" Heck no! So my dh puts his feet up and I move. It's hard to do the opposite of what you are used to, esp. when others around you aren't changing their habits as well. Just hard.

I can tell you this. I definitely remember when my feelings went from "Oh, why can't I have stupid junk fast food like everybody else? It's not fair!" :mcd: to "Omg, I wonder why they would want to eat that? It makes me feel so yukky and I'd gain wait that very day if I ate that." I think it was when I was down about 25 lbs. I could then see what my changes had done for me. :bravo: But the beginning was very hard. But I made it thru that and I plan to make it the rest of the way. :goodscale:

Then my challenge will be maintaining. I will continue to post and journal I know. Bc I think that's why I gained back last time. I stopped my support. Not good. Ok, well, that's the plan, Stan. Imma just keep my eye on the ball. (Oh and I have a green and white strapless dress that is so cute. Imma keep my eye on that too. I plan to wear it to my 15 yr high school reunion. What a motivator.) :carrot:

I hope you all have a great day today and that you keep your eye on the ball, whatever the ball may represent for you.

Hugs, Selina

OOPS! Congrats to Susie! :balloons: I overlooked that part, dang it. You are so right. I never complain either if I'm at least going down instead of up. Any loss at all is great, even half pounds too. Yay!!!! :carrot: I'm so happy for you!!!!!! :congrat:

Hi Selina!

I think it would be MUCH easier to have a new thread for those of us trying to get to 199! This one has a lot of information which I STILL want to read, but I'm only on page 27 of it and have been reading for several DAYS!

Great idea!

I know what you mean about keeping moving even as you watch TV! That's when I do all my weight work! I use dumbbells, so I just keep them under the coffee table! My son put CHRISTMAS RIBBONS on them for me so they would look festive because he KNEW no matter what, they were NOT leaving the room!:)

Be back soon. I have a date with Chalene (Turbo Jam!)

Cheryl

01-30-2007, 01:48 PM
Omg! Too funny! I love the ribbons idea. And I do know what you mean about it not leaving the room. My treadmill is right up near the TV (so I can hear it over the treadmill and the kids..LOL). Everyone knows it will be there til it dies and I need a new one.. LOL!!! And you are so patient, I don't think I could read all the old ones. There are so many. I guess also most of those people aren't posting now. So maybe that's why I don't end up reading the previous ones. :book2:

And I'm glad you all want the new thread. I'll set it up tomorrow so we will be ready for the 1st. Yay!!! :cheer:

I have done my 35 mins on the treadmill. Probably will do a little more but won't need much more and by bedtime I will hit my 10k. Goody!

Ok tty soon!

Thanks to everyone for the warm welcome. It feels odd to be a newbie somewhere !
Today I did the WATP three mile abs and the Jullian "Biggest Loser" Micheals DVD that works with abs. I did the walk in the morning and I just finished the other one. I am not up to speed on the "loser Guru" tape as I don't think anyone weighing two hundred pounds plus would be,but I am attempting some of it- which is better than sitting on the couch watching the food network.:dizzy:
Big thought today:
I was putting away the from my salad at lunch and I figured out that I could just make my dinner salad at the same time. This is a big thing for me. My guys don't want to eat salad every night- so I end up serving "steamed veggie de jour" and a starch. This way I have my stuff ready (except for measuring the salad dressing) and don't have to even eat the rice, potatoes or pasta.:hungry:
We had one of those strollers with the cover when my toddler was little and they rock ! I had to order replacement wheels the first year between walking the dog and going to the flea market.
My motivator isn't really that pretty- just a couple pairs of jeans that stare at me in my closet.I am going to try them on around Valentines Day and hope they fit.
No change in weight- but it's ok it'll go !

Today was a lazy day for me. I didn't have much energy. I have really emotional PMS and my finances are starting to bring me down. I havn't had to ask for help financially in years. When my husband lost his job my parents said they would help us out but i hate to ask. My mom has been calling me all week asking me what i need for february bills and i keep saying "i don't know i havn't sat down yet to do bills." I don't know which is worse, having to sit down and figure my bills or borrow money to pay them. :( I do remind myself all the time that there are people worse off than i am so appreciate what i do have.

Anyway, Anyway, Anyway. I didn't get on my elliptical but i did do my weights and sit ups.:workout: I used to do my situps on the floor and was able to do about 150-200. Now i have an excercise ball and i can barely get to 100. (25 at a time) The ball kicks my butt.

Cheryl ~ How was your date w/Chalene? the christmas ribbon is too funny! I keep my dumbbells under the end table and they're not moving either.

Selina ~ I read your article. Once again very good advice. Would a pedometer count my steps on an elliptical since my feet stay flat?

Sirak ~ Good job on making your dinner salad before putting it all away. That's a good idea to stay away from the starches.

Hi Sunshine!

Welcome!:wel3fc:

I had a GREAT workout with Chalene!:carrot: I did her Cardio Mix 3 with a lot of newer moves. I definitely need to work on my kicks! I just love Chalene! She's SO upbeat, and the time at the bottom of the screen telling you how long until you are done really helps. I also like the split time for each section that tells you how long THAT section is out of the total time.

Turbo Jam is GREAT!:carrot:

Go Cheryl! LOL. Sounds like you had fun!

Sunshine, I'm not sure. If you are moving a steady front to back with your feet it sure might take. I love my pedometer. Really gets me off the couch.

Glad you read the article. I was writing more back then. That was from 2005 Christmas but they used it again this year too. That was and now is again my life! So of course that is what I wrote about then, and will again I suppose. :D

Don't ya'll think that this is almost all-consuming? It is for me because almost everything I do or plan is different than when I'm not losing. Where I go, what I'll eat, how much I'll move all has to be thought about ahead of time. Uggh, I miss just grabbing what I can and not thinking! :tantrum:

But hey, that's what got me here in the first place, so I will not let it get to me. Pretty soon all this will feel normal. :cheer:

Ok, gotta have coffee :coffee: Hugsssss, Selina

01-31-2007, 10:38 AM
Oh Sirak, hi! Definitely a good idea to think ahead. I have to keep my foods done up too so I won't be tempted.

And Sunshine, I'm so sorry you are having a hard time. It makes losing seem sorta unimportant and trivial when your other stuff isn't going well. At least, that's how it got for me. I do hope you continue to post even if you slow down on it all. Not posting hurt me alot and I think that's why I stayed off the wagon for so long. No support here at home. So come and vent to us! We are cheering for you. :cheer: It'll get better. And my take on borrowing? I do it only when necessary, not for anything frivolous, ever. I know the parents know its not for fun when you are in fact needing it for bills. Maybe accepting the offer would ease your mind a bit til you have more coming in? Then just be sure to pay something on it every month once you get on your feet. As long as we paid to my mother-in-law each month, she was happy to have helped. (She isn't too happy with some who never pay a dime, yet go out and spend.)

You'll make the best decision for you and your family. Letting bills go too long will only make it worse. Believe me, I've been there b4. I also called my companies and asked for extensions and to skip a payment on my car. Just my two cents. :D

I weighed myself this morning, I'm down 3 pounds! YAY. Which means, I am only 25 pounds away from 199 and my goal is to hit it my bday, april 1st, I feel SO much closer to it. I can tell I'm losing inches too, everything just sort of seems more jiggly. I never thought I would be happy to see a more jiggly, tummy, but I am. My fiancee and I are on the search for weights, we plan on checking goodwill, flea markets and yard sales as they start up, once spring gets here anyway. We have a gym, local, that you can prepay a months visits, basically, 10 visits for $90.00, as opposed to their astronomical start up/sign up fees, its 300 per person, thats ridiculous! If I'm spending 600 bucks, I want the gym in my HOUSE, where I can use it when *I* want to, not when they're open. We also rent videos frm the library as opposed to buying them all. That way we can keep the work outs fresh and not get boggled down with the same old same old, yanno?

Sunshine, I too am on the eternal search for a job. Right now, in my area, I think 75% of people are unemployed. Luckily, my finacee can work from home, he's an anime writer, but, I've decided that while I'm looking for work, I am completely focused on my weight loss. I truly think, with my family history of heart disease, diabetes, cancer etc, this may be a gift I am overlooking. The time to totally and completely focus on MY health, MY weight, as opposed to everyone else's needs. We'll both find work, but in the meantime we can be MUCH healthier. There's ALWAYS a silver lining.

Hey Angi! How about checking into your YMCA? We joined two years ago and love it. Even has ppl who watch the babies while we work out. I think we pay $72 a month now. Very worth it. All kinds of machines, classes, pools, teams for kids, etc. I looked into many places, but this was the best choice for us. Might be good for y'all too, if you have one near you.

Angi ~ Great job on the 3 lbs and the inches!!! :high: You go girl :) My husband and i shopped aroung for a weight set. We ended up getting a new one at Sears. They were the most reasonable but we had to order it online. We had them ship it directly to the store so we paid nothing for the shipping. We're happy with it.

Selina ~ I did call a couple of the companies and have worked a payment plan with them. Others i didn't bother with like my car insurance. I know they wont do anything for me. My parents say not to worry and pay them back when i can, and I will. They know i will and that i'm responsible in that way unlike some other family members of mine.

When my husband lost his job I knew that i couldn't cancel my WW pass. ($40 a month). I also knew that i needed to start posting rather than just reading. I'm so glad that i found this group. You guys are great. Yesterday was just a bad day but today i feel much better. I will continue to post and focus on "ME". Thanks so much for your support. :grouphug:

Have a great day everyone.

Glad to hear that you are doing better today! :cp: I wasn't trying to preach to you about paying back. I was just saying that it's not so bad to borrow when you really do pay back, you know?

I have those bad days too. I hate it when I'm down. :(

I'm glad I found this place too. :D

Selina, Don't worry I didn't take it as preaching at all. If anything you made me feel better about it. :)

Hey i'm just curious what's the title for the new thread tomorrow. I assume it will be easy to find with the word february and 199 in it.

I'm off to do my elliptical now. I never work out in the morning/afternoon but i feel like getting it over with today. It's going to be weird to not have to do it tonight.

Does anyone here watch American Idol?

Hello Ladies...

No need to start a new thread....I have been here since almost the beginning. Just bookmark when you go to the next page as a favorite. I love reading old posts.

Anyway, Holly girl, where are you darlin'?

I am having bariatric surgery on Feb 12. Just 12 more days. I am so excited and pumped.

Susie...so sorry to hear about your job. All the decisions and struggling with different positions, then they do that. Ratfinks. You will find something that suits you much better.

Hey to everyone.

Sunshine-I am glad that your day is going better !:D

Angi- goggle Craiglist and see if they have a page in your area- sometimes people put used sports equipment on the one in my area.

Selina- it does not matter to me if you make a new thread or not- I need to be here everyday !

I did not look at the scale this morning- just have a feeling nothing has changed. I just got done with "salad city" - I think I will need to do some lettuce wraps for lunch as the green stuff in a bowl is getting boring.

I did my three mile tape and then the other part of the "loser" DVD set which was easier.

I truly think, with my family history of heart disease, diabetes, cancer etc, this may be a gift I am overlooking. The time to totally and completely focus on MY health, MY weight, as opposed to everyone else's needs.

I am with you right there. I only have so much time before DH will want me to look for a job- so I have to get healthy and a bit more self confident.

Debbie, I'm sorry that you're having a rough time now with losing. I've done the same thing before and it depressing, isn't it? :(

Selina ... way to go with your 3 pound loss!! You're doing great. :)

Yes, I'd love for you to start another thread for us 'cuz like you said, there are so many pages for this one.

Susie, congratulations on your 1 pound loss. That's one pound cloesr to your goal, what a reason to celebrate! :)

Brooke ... Welcome, I'm so glad that you're here and see by your ticker that you're doing really good with losing. Keep it up!

Angi ... way to go with your loss, I hope that next week I can say the same thing. *lol*

I hope I haven't missed anybody but if I have, please forgive me!

My Tuesday wasn't so good

I didn't do good yesterday at all ... for a good part of the day I didn't do too bad but last night I had to go to the store and those darned long johns called out to me and I gave in. :o

I bought [and yes - I ate too], two of them and to top it off, I didn't walk any yesterday at all so all-in-all, it wasn't a good day for the diet. :(

Wednesday - Not too bad!

Today [Wednesday] wasn't bad at all and I can say that I'm proud of myself.

I didn't eat too much plus I walked 2,000 steps [plus the steps I take normally walking, etc.]

I'd only intended on walking 1,000 but once I got started, I just kept going. :carrot:

I know ... compared to the 10,000 steps we should take a day - 2,000 pales in comparison, but it is much more than I had been doing so I'm proud of myself for it. :)

Always busy, busy ...

Sorry I haven't posted on here more but have been really busy.

I'm trying to re-do my blog and have been looking for the perfect place to have it that has all of the features that I want.

Yesterday I signed up for Typepad and last night I downloaded a couple of desktop blog editors to check them out, etc.

It is so cool 'cuz I can do my entire blog entry in my editor and then just click and it publishes it right to my blog. I love it!

Tomorrow [Thursday] I'll be busy most of the day ... I have to pay bills, do some things around the house that need done plus want to work a bit more on my blog as well.

Someday I'll get things all caught up on [I hope!] :dizzy:

Talk to ya more soon!

Love,

Jennelle

So, 3 pounds lost and what do I do. I have a hot chocolate. UGH. I know, I cant avoid them forever, but I need to quit seeing them as pampering myself. I literally, curled up on the couch, with my diet book and a cup of hot cocoa. Thankfully, made with 2% milk and just a touch of chocolate syrup, but then I grated a piece of peppermint into it. ARGHHHHHHHHH. Sometimes, I find it really really hard to get my heart to understand, we do NOT need this stuff. To enjoy it once in awhile is fantastic, but, just not right now. Right now I just want to focus on getting healthy and now I feel like crap. No, I don't think overall, that that's going to hurt me, not the one cup, but doing it to often, most certainly will. So, chocolate syrup is out of the house, it was almost empty anyway. They make chai tea in vanilla, why can't they make a chocolate flavor?

Lady Jennelle
01-31-2007, 11:57 PM
Oh honey ... From one chocoholic to another ... I know your pain and also what you mean about seeing it as pampering yourself [been there, done that!]

Lately [well - except for my long john incident last night], I've been mostly eating sugar-free, fat free pudding when I want something sweet and it's really helped.

Love,

Hi Angi!

Congratulations on those three pounds! I've finally lost three pounds, too, after an eight month plateau! I found that the "no sugar added" hot chocolate from Nestle is WONDERFUL! It has just 50 calories!

Hi Jennelle!

Good goin' on your walking! The big surprise to me when I began walking about eight years ago was that my big butt started just disappearing! It was really surprising to me that walking reduced my rear! I guess since it walked WITH me, not just my legs were getting a workout!

Hi sirak!

I weigh myself every morning no matter what. I found that skipping a day leads to two days skipped and then before I know it, a few pounds have set in to stay!:( Weighing in sometimes surprises me, too, in a GOOD WAY!

Hi Annie!

Surgery! Yikes! I wish you well and hope all goes smoothly.

Hi Sunshine!

Yes! I am an American Idol fan! I WILL say, though, that it seems like this year they really are focusing on those who are in denial about what the competition is all about. I feel that many are there to just be weird enough to end up on TV! Loved the guy who did the Seal song! Can't wait to see how he looks all cleaned up with a new haircut!

Hi Selina!

You are always so positive! Thanks for taking the time to make sweet comments and to encourage everyone! The words may be directed at just one certain person, but so many of us are dealing with the same issues as one another that the comments can fit us, too!

Hope I didn't miss anyone!

I'm enjoying FINALLY busting my plateau and have recently started to put my foods and exercise on FitDay. At first it took awhile, but I really see many benefits in knowing the totals of the foods I eat as to calories, fats, carbs, etc. There is a place to journal, too, and you can visit anytime to check your progress over time. Best of all it is FREE! It's www.FitDay.com

Hello Everyone. I just joined last night. I would love to join the race to 199. I've tried all kinds of programs since '96! when I had my first child. I feel like I just have to keep trying. So far with each new weight loss program and that blasted metabolism(40ish), the scale keeps going in the wrong direction. I haven't tried support groups except for WW, so here goes....

Debbie~Be glad your winter is over! We have been hovering in the single digits for the last few days.

So cold today I am not making it to the gym it is just too cold to drag the kiddies out. I will try to either do a tape, or hula hoop for an hour tonight. Trying to beat the munchies, I think I will try an apple, and see if that helps...my body seems to be craving something sweet...I would usually indulge in a small piece of candy, but I don't have any in the house. Cross you fingers that the apple helps!

Gotta go hope everyone is good!

Hi Everyone,
Sorry I haven't been around. I'm trying to get myself back on track.
I've had 3 interviews this week. I'm hoping for at least one offer.

I must admit that I've not been even tying to loose weight and guess what? I feel HORRIBLE! What do I expect? I'm going to get back on track right now.

I'm going to figure out if I'm going to journal on line or in a written journal. I'm going to set some new goals and I'm going to get back in this race!

I'll be back to report the details eithier later tonight or tomorrow.

It's nice to see everyone here; I think the new board is nice too. I haven't posted there yet but I am thinking about it. I know that many of us have been together for such a long time and I have been so greatful for your support over the years so I might post in both places.

What do you think about the journal issue? On line or in my own written one?

The job today was hard labour. Felt good but yikes. I was outside too for over an hour hauling stuff up a hill and out to the curb. -27C.Over 45 bags of garbage, 30 bags of recycling and odds and ends of furniture. Good work out. The 2 gals I work with are sincere, funny, caring. I adore them.My "boss" just called to thank me for working today. Combined "person" hours - we have 46 in. And we are going back Monday and Tuesday.

I had the most satisfying bath after supper to warm up and soak.

Now that the kids and hubby are in bed i have a bit of a 2nd wind. Not major but I might put some wash in.

Working doing hair tomorrow from 9:30-3.

I have only had 6 hours sleep in 2 nights. Hopig my brain disconnects better today.

Love you Gals!!!!

A woman in my networking group is a personal trainer/nutritionist. She has designed an email fitness and food program . You sign up for a year. She comes and does a personal consult. Custom designs a plan for you.Doeweek segments and then changes it up. Available for couselling 24/7. $299.00 a year. I am considering it. I KNOW what to do but dont have the motivation/inspiration.

We did the hair and makeup for a photo shoot yesterday and then got our own pics done.I will use one for my business promo.

I am completely fascinated by how I am aging. I keep looking back at old pics. It seems like I aged suddenly this year. I dont mind it at all. I look like my dad and Grandma so I know where my face is headed. Dont mind that either. Will definitely have jowels.
My age caught up with me too. I was always really young looking. At 25 every thought i was 18, at 30 I looked 21, at 35 I looked 25. I most definitely look 41 now.I blame hubby and the kids. They plain wore me out.My real hair is 75% grey. More than just salt and pepper.I have started menopause too.

Enough procrastinating.

I had 6 days straight work. Today off and then 5 days straight. Taking Thurs aft off for Japan Day in DD's class.I have 2 8 hour days for the Pro Organinzing Mon & Tues and then the hair shop the rest of the week.

Had a lovely Valentines potluck lunch at church today too.

Hi Gang,
I notice the board is a little slow. Let's get reved up ladies! Before you know it, spring will be here and we will have wished that we had lost weight instead of just talking about it. I am guilty as charged!

I have good news. I found a new job. It's not as much $$ as the last job but it's local, it doesn't require me to travel as much and I hope I get my life back with this job. I start a week from Tuesday. It is in my field and I'm starting to get excited about it. They hours are 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. That will be a little different for me as I am used to 8-5 but I'm looking at it this way, I can still get up like I"m used to and now get in the yoga that I want to start doing every day.

Holly: I think having the trainer to keep you on course would be a great thing! I haven't looked at your pictures yet but I"m planning on it when I get done posting.

Welcome to Lday girl. You have done so well on your journey and it's our pleasure to have you on this race with us. I noticed you are from Ohio, so am I. I'm near Cincinnati.

Has anyone heard from Annie? Isn't she having surgery soon?

Debbie: Where are you lady!!?!

Ok, I need to go and do dishes and get ready to watch the Grammy's.

For the first time in a long time I worked out at the Y today. Trying to get my week of to a good start.

I am going to do better this week. also I have to get to the store so I have better food in the house. Running a little low since it's been awhile since shopping (DH gets paid once a month...so we do major shopping then) DS is off today and it is my dad's b-day so we are going there to make dinner. Still not sure what to make?? I am thinking fajitas? ok gotta run the kids are playing in the bathroom! :nono:

Hi Debbie, Holly and Anghi!

I'm not sure where everyone is. I have been posting on the Chicks Racing board but I check this one to.

I'm doing ok in my new position. I don't love it but then I didn't think I would; for right now it's a decent paying job and I know that it's easier to get a job when you already have one.

I have a couple of other leads that I've been called about and I hope they turn into offers.

I'm glad to be back at work so I'm not tempted to binge when I am home by myself.

I hope to see you all posting here and/or on the Chicks Racing board.

I'm glad all the ladies are still here, I thought everyone moved to the new thread :(
I'm still struggling to get below 199. I discovered that I keep following a pattern that sabotages my weight loss attempts. My official weigh-in is on Sunday, but I sometimes weigh myself for progress on Thursdays or Fridays, when I notice a loss, for some reason I end up pigging out the next day and end up gaining whatever I lost that week :(
I want to change that, I'm considering hiding my scales and just weigh-in once a month.

((hugs))

Hello Ladies.

Deb, thank you for the phone call. Happy day!!

This has not been an easy road. Surgery was on the 12th, came home on th 14th, back to work on the 26th. My stomach was nauseas from day one and didn't let up. It lead me into dehydration and another 3 days in the hospital. I am going back to work tomorrow. Let me tell you, should anyone think or hears someone say this is the easy way out to lose weight, they are so darn wrong. I don't regret it, but sometimes wonder why I CHOSE to do this to myself. I am sure in another few months I won't feel this way, but right now....sheesh.

Granted I have lost 40 pounds in 3 weeks, but it is not easy. The vitamins, protein shakes, and liquid I have to drink daily, is all I can think about. Thoroughly research ladies, if you chose this road. I did and still can't believe it.

All and all is good now, and hope to continue this path.

Holly, you sure are a hard worker, but seriously think if you could handle babysitting, you can do anything. :^)

Susie, sorry to hear your job is not what you want. Hang in there.

Hello to everyone. Will try to post more often.

Hello Everyone - it's Girlie - I'm back!!!!!
And still working on things.

I was doing my 3-mile Leslie Sansone workout this morning and thought about all of you. I'm happy to see that you are still posting away, that's amazing.

A quick post before I head to work though:

I was laid off of my job last year in August and I pretty much became miserable and sedentary. I started a new job a few months ago - a management position - gets stressful sometimes, but I've decided that exercise will help. I've gained weight since I was laid off so it's time to get back into it.

Annie: did you have a lap band or gastric bypass? A friend of mine JUST did last week and she's feeling the same way you have. She had lapband - and we've decided to start working out together. Maybe I'll have her join this forum.

See you ladies soon - I'm back!

I hope that the counselling gets better. It's a good thing to "stir things up".

I found a very interesting and somewhat inspring amount of information while searching to see what the Army thinks my weight should be....

It was the Army's Wright Loss Program (what they give overweight soldiers). The US Military is usually known for breaking down people so they can mold and shape people their way (sorry if this offends any military people), so I was really surprised to find inspiration in an Army document.

It had information on what your current weight caloric needs are, what your ideal weight needs are, and how much you could lose based on how much you cut out. It had some inspiring phrases (to me) like "Excess body weight connotes a lack of personal disciplpine". That rang so true because I can run an ER and save lives in crutial moments, but I can't control what I shove in my mouth??? Ridiculous, and that's why I am changing.

It also had suggestions on how to limit calories, what pitfalls are out there. And basically, at the end of the day, weight loss happens when you decrease your calories in, or increase calories burned, or both.

I don't know the site, but if you google "army weight height" that's how I found it. I think it is worth viewing, if not printing. For anyone who needs some straight forward ideas...

Good Morning!!!

There is a weak sun shining thru the trees. I slept 9 hours.
In counselling on Sunday I was told to take a day off. No computer ,no housework,no laundry, no cooking nothing but hanging out. Has any woman/wife/mom ever actually done this????

Right now I would love to go and lallygag in bed, watch some tv,read, doze, play with the kitties, take a bath..................
BUT I need to feed the kids, clean the kitchen, do laundry, pack Avon..............
I will give myself til 9:30 to start so I can veg a bit. And i will watch my soaps this aft. It’s been 6 weeks. No plans tonight either. I did for others ALL weekend long too. I was alone Sunday aft so thtt was nice and I did go for counselling which is good but I wouldn’t call it pleasant. She is tough on me. No wiggling around issues. Holda me accountable. Asks tough questions and keeps asking till I answer honestly. All in a very kind, professional way.
My neck has been stiff for weeks. Now my chest muscles hurt from lifting yesterday.
If i can peel the kids from the video game I will do my Yoga DVD.

Last night......
Home from work. HUGE job but great people. I was VERY dirty. We spent 7.5 hours in a kitchen alone and took out about 20 boxes( 3X3X3 ft) of sellable stuff and 6 bags of garbage............hubby was home at 5:15. He heated up leftovers for himself and the kids. I got got home at 6:00. Hugged and kissed my boys lots and then they left for hockey in Thamesford. I warmed up different leftovers .
Checked mail.... It’s freezing in here. It is raining and i am feeling the damp. Only 4 hours sleep last night doesn’t help either.( damn time change)

I took a desperately need a bath to soothe my tired bones ,clean up and get warmed up. Will start the fire in a bit............ right now i am having a cafe mocha.

I dont have to work tomorrow...... yippee!!!! So much to do here, of course, but I am happy to be home!
At the very least tonight I will get a load of whites done and tidy the kitchen and run the DW.Tomorrow I will catch up on and complete ALL my Avon stuff. Work on the damn tax stuff.

Got over to Grandma’s yesterday. Picked up 23 boxes of new flooring. 20 more to get.
Kids had a good day with our neighbour/sitter here today. I left at 7:30 to get to work in time. Won a free coffee at Tim’s!!

Spose the clothes wont put themselves in the washer.

HUGS!!!!

Hi All...

Deb-thank God for previous weightloss friends, they keep me in clothes. My bestest friend, Suzie, is 19 months out of surgery and has passed all her clothes down to me, so that is a great help, plus I have clothes from my previous sizes....

Today is a good day already took a 15 minute walk on morning break and will take another this afternoon. I really need to start exercising but don't get released till next week for that. Would like to do a little weights for the arms, and don't have the foggiest what to do about the apron belly. It's not bad, but noticeable. My tummy region is still a bit tender when I bend over anyway, may have to wait a few more weeks for that.

I hate it when I buy something too high tech for me. The kids tried to get me to buy a digital camera that was just above a kids toy. I realize now I should have listened..LOL. Hi Annie and Debbie!!!

Being hanging around but not posting as much.
I signed up with a personal trainer who does a program thru emial. I start the workout today. I need to email her my foodmand exercise every day.
My 18 year old cat Clyde died yesterday. It was hard.In a sense it is a relief that he is gone because he was so ill. Waiting is hard.
Hubby and the kids had a funeral last night. DD said Daddy cried. Good. He needs to face things and deal with them. He was really angry with me for not doing it all. I am glad now I stood my ground.Maybe some day he will skip that part where he is a total jerk first .

Back in Dec he said he wanted to be the man and head of the household. That takes action. He needs to “be” it. I would be glad to give him that hat to wear. Someone has had to be the adult and parent around here.

I am not working at payroll today!!! Very happy. I have a big trade show tomorrow from 10-4, setting up at 8am. Guest speaking at 11:40. I need to prep brochures, display and retail stuff. I wrote most of my presentation the other day. I do it off the cuff anyhow but I got my thoughts in order.

I need to clean both bathrooms and work on taxes. Gym tonight but no hockey. 6 weeks til soccer starts. Nice break.

I still want to clean up my computer; documents, email and pics.

1/2 hour til the kids get up. I am soooooooo happy that I dont HAVE to shower and do my hair and put on make up!!!!!

Will try and actully write personals later.

I wrote my goals out earlier this week.
My Goals

1) keep the house clean and tidy all the time
2) have more fun with the kids ( this means getting behaviours under control so everything is not about policing them)
3) go away by myself
4) exercise every day
5)maintain my focus
6) spend 1 hour 1 evening a week with my husband
7)earn Presidents club again
8)spend 15 min a day in solitude
9)connect with 1 friend a week for fun
10)take kids to Toronto this summer
11) earn a minimum $300.00/week
12)clean up my documents; pics; email

#9 means cyber friends too.
I called a friend last night and we talked for a lonnnnng time. Felt good.

There is no such thing as a day off in my life just days working without pay, LOL!! I am happy to be home tho.

I'm sick. Both kids are sick and have been home. I napped all morning so far.Kids are playing quietly. Luke has been less intense than anticipated so that is great.
I am going to make some avon calls. At 2pm I need to pick up a book and deliver some Avon. It is damp and drizzly. Thinkin’ I will start a fire.
I pushed myself to go to School Council last night even tho I felt terrible. I was glad I went. We do 1 hour of a parent support group with a facilitator and then a 1.5 hour meeting. Some interesting projects were brought to the table. This is a diverse and deep thinking well spoken group. We had good discussion and debate around the issues. Set up some projects for the next 2 months.Had a nice visit with David afterwards.Nice to be with people who care about me, each other, our community....
My head hurt a lot tho and still does.
I was grieving for Clyde Sunday and parts of yesterday but seem to be thru it now.It is odd not to have him here with me.

Happy Easter!!!

We have a few inches of new snow, on top of the snow from yesterday. We are supposed to go to the park for an egg hunt but may skip it. It is pretty fluffy snow but I dont want to drive for an hour in it.
Puttering to do here for the morning. Need to make a veggie tray and prep everything for a ceasar salad.

We had a lamb dinner at my folks yesterday. The battle axe brigade were very well behaved and it was enjoyable. They were getting into the wine but we left before any fireworks.
Going up to hubby's bro's at 1pm today. We will have a ham and scallops dinner there.

I am going to do a treasure hunt for some Easter presents for the kids here tonight for the morning. I picked them up each a CD, some jeans, runners....

I have slept til 8:30 the last 2 days. Usually i am up at 6:30. Feels good to let my body decide when to wake up.
HUGS!!

Hey friends,
We had SNOW today. Nothing stuck but big flakes have been falling most of the day. It was 89f just a couple of days ago...
I have a restful Easter planned. Our neighbor smoked a brisket for us. So I just have to make a potato salad and fix a fresh veggie tray and some deviled eggs and a banana pudding...all WW friendly. Grandson has out grown the egg hunt thing...bummer. I missed the fun. May have a senior egg hunt...LOL

Hi Friends,
Life has been busy for me. I have not lost anything but I haven't gained anything.

I am starting a new job on Monday, April 16. I'm starting at Procter and Gamble. I'm so excited about it. It's more money than the job I lost a couple of months ago.

I was so lucky to have an in-between job. It was ok pay but not great and it wasn't exciting enough for me.

I'm going to be an Administrative Assistant in the *** department. Just to work for such a company is exciting and an honor. I'm so ready to start!

I'm going to try to start posting again. At least a couple of times a week.

It's good to read everyone's posts.

Take care.
Susie

Hi Ladies,
Where is everyone? :spin:
I had a 3.25 lb loss at my weigh-in last night. My goal right now is to have a loss every week for 3 months. It doesn't matter how much of a loss, I just want to get in the habits that will help me to loose each week.

Have a great day! I'll be around some this weekend, so I'll see you here.

Hello Ladies....

The weight is coming off pretty quickly. 64 lbs and yesterday was 10 weeks. No real problems so far, everything is going smoothly. I go for a check up in two weeks on May 9. My stomach does not tolerate too much red meat right now. I am handling chicken pretty well tho.

It has been sunny and 70-75 the past several days. It is so awesome outside and gets me out of the house and funk.
Only 6 weeks till I close on my house and move. I am getting more and more excited.

Hope everyone is doing great.

CONGRATUALTIONS UPS!!!!!!!

A loooooooong day for me yesterday. Non stop from 7am - 11:30 pm. It was all good. Feeling bleary today but will not be as busy today. My house sure suffers when i work full time.
Had two meetings yesterday- 8am and 4pm, got to connect( and do biz) with some people I really like.
Worked at the the shop, did stuff for church and my Avon order all evening- while doing homework, cleaning etc. Watched Idol with the kids in between stuff. Bon Jovi was on , bestill my heart. Made my whole month. Fell asleep by 12:30.
Things are pretty much okay around here.

Only 4 weeks till I close and move. Yeah! I am getting so excited. This is my first big adventure on my own since getting divorced 3 years ago. I have been renting for the past 3 years. My rent and house payment are within 20 bucks of each other. The house is only 3 years old too.

How is everyone doing?

For the first time in a couple of years I had a good time out with hubby and the kids at a gathering. I feel so content right now. It was fun and lighthearted. We even sat just the 2 of us and chatted a bit.The kids did great!!! He was not an a$$hole in the car either way. It was so nice. The kids just went to bed without an uproar.
Both kids are loving soccer so much. It all feels positive. I had forgotten what positive felt like. I feel like I can let me guard down a bit and enjoy my life. Gosh it has been so long.

Oh Holly, how wonderful for you. That is such an awesome feeling.

Spent mother's day cleaning out the garage getting ready for the move. My gift from my kids was to be my slaves for the day. 11 bags of trash, and 4 boxes of trash. Man what a difference the garage is in. Yeah.

Got word from my finance lady that my 30 year mortgage was locked in at 6.25%. That makes me happy. I am so excited to buy my own home.
I feel so good about things in life right now. Amazing how positive thinking brings positive things in your life. I love it.

My brother and I spent a couple of weekends ago at my parents house painting the inside and also painting the fence around their back yard. My body was aching, as was my back and neck. All is good now.

Hope everyone is having positive things in their life. I know when we lurk, sometimes we are not in a good place. Please come for support.

Have a wonderful week.

Hugs
