Good evening girls! Sorry I didn't get in here today as I had planned to start the thread proper again, but dd and her car problems had us shuttling her around then we went and spent $1300 on a new fridge, paint, wallpaper etc to start work on the condo and get it into shape and on top of that, I have 50 bazillion loads of laundry to try and get caught up!

I have to go get dd at midnight again so I am not going to stay on long. I promise to be back here in the morning with a target tuesday and get us all back in line. Looks to me like when the drill sergeant is away the chubby chickies stay away!

**BTW, my new fridge has all these cool drawers for dairy, fruits, meats and the like so I will be able to keep them better and not have them go bad so quick so I am hoping to really get back to eating healthy again quick. My goal is 130 lbs by Jan 1 2005.

Have a great evening and see you in the morning!

Faye :)

Later, sweeties!

Hi Faye,

I'd love to join this thread. Your "working to change my brain" quote really hits home! I never even thought about losing weight in such a positive way, so count me in!!

My Tuesday target is to get up early enough to exercise 5 days a week. If I don't get it in in the morning I just get lazy in the evenings.

I have a restaruant dinner tomorrow and I'm already dreading it, in a way. How sad - I should enjoy someone else cooking for me! It's just hard to choose wisely and then eat moderately.

Have a great Tuesday!

Jessica

Julie - Snow? Still? Sorry about that...Spring has got to come soon for you

My allergies have been absolutely horrible since the weather got warmer, they say the pollen is extremely high right now...no prescription my Dr gives me seems to work, I am at my witts end...( I guess I should have kept this for Weds woes but it bothering me right now ) :(

Good morning everyone!

rainy and cold today.....better than snow!

4 points yesterday! and on track today. I'm really working hard to not eat after 7pm, at least on the days I have dinner on time. I usually eat dinner around 6 and then start the night time munchies around 7 or 7:30. I've especially noticed that I pick at the leftovers before I put them away. Hmmmm, guess I need to put them away before we eat! Oh, and if I put away alot, then there's less to eat at dinner. I always overestimate how much to cook because I don't follow recipes, just throw things together. So we end up getting 2nds and 3rds because it's there. Something to think about.

Carrie......Work hard this week! I want to celebrate your 100's party on Friday!!!!!!! You're sooooooo close! Hope your allergies get better.

Well, guess I better get going. Welcome Jessica! These are a great bunch of gals.

Have a :strong: day everyone!!!

Good Morning
Welcome to the new Zookeeper!

I had an ok work out yesterday but not my usual. I was just...bored. Even though I was mixing up machines...so today i'm going to try a different room in the gym just for kicks and see if that works. I was also very tired all of yesterday so that might be it too.

I went to my 1st rehearsal for the play OSU is putting on. I LOVE props, but it can really wear you down. we wre running all over the place last night...This is why I lost 15 pounds the last musical I did!

Hi Ladies,
Welcome Zookeeper.

I think we may have finally found spring. It is supposed to be in the 70s this weekend. (First time since last year, ok. I am excited)

Unfortunatly between now and this weekend it is supposed to rain everyday, so it looks like I will be running in the rain. Have I mentioned that I hate running. It is a good thing that H keeps me going :drill: otherwise this running thing may be just another failure.

Still 190 looks good on the scale. I hope it will soon start looking good in the mirror.

Have a great day all.

Hi Everyone

Faye, i loved your pics :D what a handsome couple your son and daughter in law make :) i got married in Vegas btw ;) did you try Harrah's buffet? in my opinion the best place to eat on the Strip :T also one of the most fattening too i might add

Carri, yes we did have another Zookeeper (Lisa a.k.a Zookeeper16) i thought for a minute that she'd come back :dizzy: anyway, WELCOME Jessica

I have succumbed to Cadbury's Creme and Caramilk eggs  thought i was going to get away with it because there was'nt any left at the store :nono: and then i went to another one and was surrounded by them :dunno: whats a girl to do? OK, don't tell me  i already know the answer but the flesh was weak  good job this is only once a year ;) i'm currently working in the garden so using that hoe will burn some calories.

Evening girls!

Welcome Jessica! This is a great place to be I hope that you enjoy yourself here.

Faye, my my what wonderful pics you have my dear! Sounds as if Vegas was good to you. How is your dd doing? Hope that she is doing good.

Been MIA over the holiday, work. Plus, one of my cousions died. He suffered so bad for so long so now he is at peace at least. Ah Easter didn't hold none of the good candy for me I think that I had watergate cake to take the place of the candy. Overall I think that it could have been worse. I splurged and ordered myself a glider and I get it sometime before the 19th can't wait. The stair climber just isn't bad leg friendly.

Carrie....100ville here u come.

Susan, wish that I could be there with you while the play is in progress. Miss that so much. Musicals oh well they are not high up there on my list of faves but hey right now I would take it.

Just checking in before bed hope that everyone has a super day

One more pic. My baby boy and his Mama in front of one of the strip hotels, but who the heck knows which one, we walked past so many! They had the most wonderful wedding and reception and it was all great fun. I got my ego massaged over and over by Jay's friends (all 30 somethings) telling me how beautiful and gorgeous I was in the dress. My nephew, who is almost 40 and I haven't seen in almost 2 years told me how great I looked and to keep up the good work. My beautiful shoes stayed in the hotel though because the heat swelled my hands and feet and the shoes were too tight so a quick run to the shoe store for a pair of cute satin slides and it still came out ok!

Julie: You are doing fabulous! Keep up the great work!

Jessica: Welcome to our jolly group. We have a lot that come in and out (some stay out too long, hint to those of you lurking and not posting because you ate too many peeps chicks this weekend! )

I got my new fridge today, did 10 loads of laundry and still about 3 to finish up! I hung new curtains in the living room and dining room and started painting the downstairs bathroom. I am doing the dining room in yellow and green with one wall being wallpapered with sunflowers and a sunflower border around the whole top of the room. The rest of the room is a sunflower yellow paint. My chairs have yellow chairpads and placemats with tiny sunflowers on them then the napkins are an olive type green and gold napkin rings. The downstairs bath is two shades of aqua with off white bath rug etc. The upstairs hall is the same yellow only 2 shades lighter with a wallpaper border "chair rail of a garden type scene." I have the upstairs hall bath to repaint a lighter lavender (I got an orchid the first time and it is too bright) Anyway, that tells you a little of what I have been doing today, but it keeps me out of the food and I LOVE to decorate.

I missed you girls so much, but it was so expensive to use the phone to dial up while we were gone. If any of you ever go to Vegas, be sure and make reservations at the Orleans hotel, which is just off the strip about a mile. I will include pics of our room tomorrow to show you how big it was. We paid $60 a night for Sunday through Thur and $109 a night for Friday and Sat night. Fabulous service and great food.

Cat: No we didn't eat at Harrahs. We ate 3 times at the buffet at our hotel, went to Olive Garden once, In and Out burger once, the Courtyard Cafe at our hotel for most breakfast days (they had great fruit, cereal, bagels etc selections along with regular eggs etc,) we went to Sambas in the Mirage, which is a Brazillian restaurant and was very good. Jay and Alicia got married at the Candlelight chapel (I here that was Britney's choice as well! ) which is right next to the Riviera on the strip and the reception was at Tony Roma's at the Stardust across the street.

Well, enough blabbing. Here is the pic:

Looking good there Faye!!!!!!!!! I think that if it were me I wouldn't have wanted to leave. While you are in the decorating mood you could always come here to KY and paint my walls for me. LOL! I am going to do the walls sometime but I am going to wait until the end of April/first of May to do so. I want it warm enough to leave the windows open so that the house can air out as well.

Getting a great start on the day..now to make sure that the rest of the day goes as well. Here's to a wonderful day..........will check in later with my woe.

Good Morning lovelies!
4 points for yesterday......woo hoo! I had a weird day and just didn't feel like eating. And when I was cooking dinner for everyone, the smell of the meat (chicken) just turned my stomach. I may be headed into another one of my vegetarian phases. It happens every few years where I just can't stand to eat meat for a while. So, I just go with the flow.....my body knows best.

My woe today is that I have to go to the dentist. I actually made a voluntary appointment, not one where I was in so much pain that I HAD to. I have a temp. filling that was supposed to be replaced this time last year, but I chickened out. I'm trying to be a "grown up" and just do what needs to be done to get my body healthy.......But GEEEZZ I hate going to dentists!!! Needles give me nightmares, for real. Today is only an exam and xrays....but I've never gone to an appt. where I didn't end up with a needle in my mouth.

Oh well, deep breaths.........go to my happy place.

Faye your pics are great! I'm so glad you had such a great time, you deserve it!

Sandy, congrats on the glider! It will be much friendlier to your body than a stair climber for sure.

Cat...don't worry about the cadbury eggs. Look at it this way, there aren't any more candy oriented holidays from now until Halloween! So, that gives you until about the beginning of August before the stores stock up on candy corn

Knobhdy...can't wait till I can say "190 looks pretty good"! Keep up the great work!

Carrie where are you today? You're gonna hit those 100s this week, I just feel it in my bones! (Hey, I can feel my bones..........COOL!)

Well, gotta go now.
Later babes,
Julie

Hi all,

Carri, sorry to hear about your allergies - I've taken shots for years and it's helped, but there are still times when nothing seems to work. Hope they get better quick!

Julie, I'm the same with cooking quantities. I try to dish out what I should eat and then tupperware up the rest. Doesn't always happen, but I think it helps. Good for your 4 points! I'm not doing well with exercising, so I'm stuck at 3 points the past few days.

Susan, I used to be in a lot of plays and LOVED it!! How exciting! Great job in your work outs! I love the elliptical cross trainer, so that's usually my first choice. I make a lot of different workout CDs to keep the beat going and my legs pumping.

Knobhdy, I'm inspired that you run - I used to run years ago and stayed in good shape. I would like to try to get into it again, it's just so hard and discouraging at first when I can't get far without stopping.

Cathy, I totally understand the chocolate fix. Lately I've been taking ONE Hershey's kiss when I leave work and then I savor it for as long as I can. I want another one, but, oops, they are back at work and I don't have any more. Ah, the games I play. I'm looking forward to gardening, too. I hope the weather here is as nice as I've been hearing.

Sandy, sorry to hear about your cousin but glad the suffering is over and he is smiling on you from heaven. I am excited for your glider - I can't wait to hear about it.

Faye, you sound like one of the busiest people I know! Glad you had fun in Vegas - we went there for our honeymoon, and really enjoyed it. You look great!

Wow, this was long - sorry! It's only 842am and I already have a woe for Weds. I went to bed early so I could get up and exercise, but I was up for an hour in the middle of the night with a migraine. The medicine I took helped somewhat, but makes me groggy. I slept in and my migraine is still lingering. So much for exercise. Maybe I'll get a walk in later if I feel better. Blah! Well, at least it is sunny :) Hope everyone has a great day!

Got 3 points yesterday, which was good for me since I totally blew the weekend and am about to start my TOM... :(

Julie - I am not feeling it this week, girl. I dont think I am going to hit below 200 this week ( as much as I want to )...I totally blew the weekend and I am up two pounds, could be from my TOM but could be from all the food
So I probably will either be up on Friday or just the same...but I am going to work my butt off to be under by the following Friday....you work hard too and we can celebrate Onederland together!! :strong:

Jessica - You really didnt have to change your avatar, ha ha  but it works :) My Dr has never offered me any shots for my allergies although other people have suggested it might work...she just keeps giving me pills and pills that wont work, go figure ...

Faye - Wow you came right back and just started right in huh? Do you do this yearly? Like a Spring cleaning type of thing...sounds nice, make sure to post some pics when you are done....

I guess my Weds woes would be how much I blew it this weekend with the food thing, I was doing so well and so darn close to being under 200 and then I go and totally stuff myself for Easter, but I guess all I can do is go forward and work harder....right?? :bubbles:

Sandy - Sorry to hear about your cousin...have a good day :sunny:

Knobhdy, Scuzin, Cathy, and everyone else have a good one :balloons:

Glad to hear that the majority of you are doing great :cp:

Julie, you know Halloween does'nt bother me the same candy wise  i'll buy those mini bars in bags if they are on sale but they are not a "must have" like Cadburys creme and caramilk eggs are :T i just HAVE TO HAVE THEM  i feel like i've been cheated if i don't find some on sale

Faye, did you ever make it to the Rio? if not you missed the best free show in Vegas :cp: if you can't tell i go there for the entertainment not gambling ;) it has a Mardi Gras theme and you can pay $10 and ride around in a carousel hanging from the ceiling and throw beads to the people in the Casino :)

Julie, :goodluck: at the dentist :)

Good Morning
I'm supposed to be heading out to the gym but I can't seem to wake up today! I've been to a class already but I've been yawning and groggy. :faint: I've just been so busy.

Julie - I feel your pain! I HATE the dentist. I never minded it as a kid, and I have no trouble with needles....its the drill...its because I KNOW that whenever I go I'll have to have smomething drilled and I KNOW that whenever I have something drilled, no matter how many shots...I FEEL something. *shudder* Now all I can think about is the clip from Marathon Man. :yikes:

Afternoon, girls!

Cat: We didn't rent a car so depended on shuttle transpo so missed the Rio though it was on my list. We are planning another trip fall of 2005 so we will be sure and get to it. I didn't get to the Grand, Luxor, Mandalay Bay and a few others either. We were there 9 days and still didn't see everything.!

Carri: We had plans before we left to start decorating when we got home so it wasn't like a last minute thing or anything. Our condo is 25 years old and needs lots of tlc so we are starting with the cheaper stuff and getting it out of the way because we have to have all new flooring and that will cost a bundle even doing the work ourselves.

Julie: You keep at it girl, you are doing great.

I am finally only 2 loads down on laundry. I will be so glad when that is done. I did get the upstairs and half the downstairs cleaned also and did some "test" painting. I did the dumbest thing. I have an orchid color in my hall bath upstairs and always wanted it lavender as that is what bath assessories I have so I bought another quart of paint, brought it home and it looked suspiciously like the stuff on the trim. Dang if'n it ain't only one shade lighter! I decided I am taking one of the hand towels with me to get the correct shade this time. My brain must really like orchid!

Everyone have a great afternoon!

Sounds as if everyone has been very busy today. I think that it is life that gets in our way and makes us so busy.

Woe for this week is stress. I do really go at staying op til I get really stressed and then everything goes to pot. Anyone else that has this same problem? Was just wondering.

Julie I hope that everything went alright for you at the dentist. I hate them as well.

Jessica, I pray that you will have a restful night and no migraines plague you. They are the pits thats for sure.

Today I got in exercise and water. At least I did get in that much. Time for sleep catch everyone later.

Good Morning beautifuls!

Well, I survived the dentist. It was the first time I've EVER gone where they didn't end up sticking a needle in my mouth. Actually, all he did was take some x-rays and "examine" my teeth to see what needed to be done. Part of my fear was that he would find a ton of holes and work that needed doing because I haven't been to a dentist (except for one emergency filling) for over 20 years! He was pretty stunned when I told him that because other than the one tooth that I knew was trouble, the rest of my mouth is fine! WHEW!! Dodged that bullet for another 20 years

So, I do need a root canal and crown on the one bad tooth......which I knew. But he said as long as it isn't hurting me, I can put it off. Good thing, cuz it's gonna cost $2000! And we have no dental insurance. Just have to get a good cleaning to remove some staining from my coffee and I'll be good to go. I am so proud of myself for making that appt. and keeping it! I just about started crying in the waiting room, I was so stressed out!!! But I didn't eat to comfort myself........and I thought about "rewarding" myself with an icecream on the way home. But I didn't! I bought a manicure kit instead. I've been a nail biter since childhood and have really nasty hands. I've been working hard on not biting, and I actually needed a nail file! So.....all in all it was a good day.

Oh, and I got 4 points too.

Thanks for all your happy thoughts and wishes.......It helped, believe me.

Jessica, I'm glad you got rid of your headache! Mine always last for days and days. THough I do find that exercise helps immensely with my headaches. If I catch them in time and do some deep yoga stretches, I can usually survive them without going to bed for 3 days.

Sandy, I totally understand your program going to pot when you're stressed. EVERYONE has that problem! If they say they don't, they're lying :lol3:
When I'm in that situation and I can manage to stop long enough to think, I try to remember that the stressful situation will pass eventually. And when it does, I can either be 2 steps back because I used food to get me through it OR I can be 2 steps ahead because I didn't. I ALWAYS have deep deep remorse when the stress is over and I realize what I've done to myself by overeating and not exercising. I hate that feeling! So, I'm trying really hard to stay "good" even though right now I'm full tilt in production for my show. I have NO time and little extra energy.......but the morning exercise and light eating are helping me. And when the show is over, I will have a good feeling not a bad one.

Boy, that rambled on longer than I meant it to. Anyway, I hope everyone has a great day! It's still raining here, but I can see tiny buds on the rose bushes outside my window. WOO HOOOOO!

Until soon,
Julie

Morning everyone - Hope you are all doing great...

Had a 4 pointer yesterday, it was so nice out, got to walk...I got up the courage and weighed myself this morning and I should not have, I am on my TOM and am always 2-3 pounds up, so I am not going to weigh in tomorrow, wont be my actual number anyhow...but I wont sweat it ... just trying to get through the TOM is bad enough, right??? :dizzy:

Julie - Glad to hear everything was alright, yes you did dodge a bullet, 20 years? I waited almost 6 years before I went and now I have like three cavaties, but I like you have been putting that off, but I need to go back soon...

Jessica - Glad to hear your migraine is gone, I wouldnt wish those on my worst enemy...I have only had like 3 actual migraines in my life and it was horrible...my Mom has them pretty bad and pretty often and her Dr recommended exercising for at least 30 mins everyday to stop them and it has helped her alot, who knew exercise could be so benefiting ??

Sandy - Dont sweat it, you will get back on track soon, deal with the stress first and relax... :)

Faye - Oh I see, just some things needed to be done...I know how that is...oh and I meant to tell you how great you looked in the red dress, very nice....

Hope you all have a great OP day and take care !!!

Hi Ladies,
The slump is back again. I weighed myself this morning, (I know not my day for it but I couldn’t help looking) and I am up almost 3 pounds.

It is so frustrating. I have been eating well this week, although I have been up a little on the sugar intake from last week ( I had no sugar for the two weeks before easter) but I have keep it well within the allotted calories and I have been really good about exercising. I walked 3 miles yesterday in the pouring rain. (It was not raining when I headed out for my walk and by the time I got back it had stopped but while I was out it poured! (I have stopped running for now cause my shins were hurting to the point when I was limping on them even when walking. I am doing the same path walking but going around twice and trying to cram it all into a hour. So walking 4 miles in a hour, until my legs get string enough to run again.)

Water has also been a struggle. The first bottle of the day is easy. But after that I have to fight it down. I am not thirsty. Which I suppose is good but ugh well at least if I am drinking unwanted water it is harder for my mind to tell me I should be eating food.

On the bright side my DH and I have run out of money (well not exactly but we have some really big bills due soon and we need to save our money to pay them.) and so he has promised me he would stop eating out and ordering food. It will be much easier for me to eat well when he is not bringing temptation into my house.

My Thursday for me thing is that I am going to dance class tonight. I went to the recital on saturday and it was great. I saw lots of the ladies afterwards and they all asked me to go back so I am. Today is my first day.

Have a great day, ladies.

Mirabelly
04-15-2004, 02:04 PM
Yeah Knobhdy! Enjoy your dance class!!

You and your dh will be shocked at how much money you'll save and how much easier it is to eat healthy when you're not going out to eat or bringing stuff home! I don't know where you live, but the closest decent restaurant for us in 45 minutes away and you have to have reservations a day ahead of time! (this is just for an Olive Garden, for crying out loud) It's just so much easier to cook. If I need something quick and I don't feel like cooking......I just pull out one of my homemade frozen dinners. Whenever I make Lasagne, for example, I make 2 and freeze one for those dinner emergencies.

PLEASE don't let the scale get you down!! You are doing the right things to lose weight, sometimes it just takes a while for your body to catch up. I've had the most frustrating year where I lose 3 pounds one week than don't lose an ounce for three more weeks. BUT if I average out my losses over the whole year, it adds up to 1.5 pounds a week. Which is just right. So be patient, even though I know you want to toss the thing out the window!!

Hope everyone is having a good day!

Julie

Hello Ladies
Messed up on water yesterday for the 1st time in a while...only got 1/2 in. I also had to cut my workout for lack of time but I still got some sweat in! On track so far today.
Here is my late Wednesday woe - So....that TOM is here. Now I know that hormones and such fluctuate and change somewhat from time to time and over the course of ageing...BUT, From the time I got it and throughout my teenage years things were relatively mild...meaning It was a bad month if I got a headache...cramps...maybe once every 6-8 months...no real mood change AT ALL. I was DELIGHTED, because I knew how some suffered. Now it seems things are changing. I have a predictable day or two of surly depression and cramps come more often and dang it if I don't feel a headache coming on (at least I didn't break out). ARG! I just thought as you left adolescence things were supposed to calm down and regulate...NOT GO WACKO, well we're all different I guess and I got to skate through for a long time and now have to make up for it. I'm just mad about the mood thing though...pain I can take...but the only thing worse that feeling horrible is knowing that it means nothing and is completely invalidated. On the up side it still has no effect on my weight :D I know that can be troubling.
ok, vent complete

I'm back! :)

Well the funeral went very well as far as it could - it will be nice to be able to settle down for a bit and get over everything that has happened over the past couple of months.

I have not stuck to my diet or exercise at all during this time - so I am going to start again (AGAIN!! ) - Ill be around more regularly now, so hopefully all your hard work and discipline will rub off on me!

At least I've come back before Faye had to come and track me down!! :nono: :drill:

I haven't had time to catch up with all the posts I've missed - so i hope you are all well!

Take care

Love Amanda xx

Scuzin - Yeah you have been lucky all these years, I always get bad cramps, back pain, weight gain, and headaches, everytime...I am so bloated right now, just got my TOM this morning, it really does suck sometimes I know

Amanda - Glad to have you back, glad all is well, now you can get your butt back in gear - get back on your WW... let me know if I can help ...

Have a good evening all ...

Amanda: Boy are you lucky! I was just thinking this morning that I hadn't seen you post while I was gone and was going to have to e-mail you again!

I painted all day today so have a "fumes" headache. I had the fan on, but it is a downstairs half bath with NO window. I would come out and try and paint drawers etc out in the kitchen but it still crawled up my nose I guess.

As for food etc, I have got to go grocery shopping and get back to the gym. I am not pigging out or anything, but just have to get back to the rhythm of things again.

Julie and Carri get : :bravo: :bravo: for points today

Jessica: glad you are feeling a little better.

Have a great evening girls and remember that you are worth every good and hard thing you are doing for yourself!

Hi Everyone

I'm jiggered but just wanted to pop in and see how everyone is before i hit the sack  had a really busy day today and i'm aching now  more spring cleaning then out in the garden digging and powerwashing the truck and car :) hopefully tomorrow i'll get some seeds planted otherwise i won't be looking at any flowers this summer

Amanda, welcome back :) we missed you!

Julie, where is your bad tooth? i'm asking because no-one seems to have teeth pulled anymore  my stepson once complained about toothache a few years ago and when he went to the dentist he came home and said "i've got some bad news :( i need a root canal and it'll cost $1000" my hubby said to him "well, you can tell the dentist to either put a filling in it or pull it" it was one of his back teeth anyway  needless to say he never mentioned toothache again and i don't think he's had anything done with it to this day and he's 22 this year :lol3:

Good Morning Beautifuls!

Chalk up another pound for me!!! :D I'm in between 206 and 207, so I'm claiming the 207 as MINE! Which is one down from the past 2 or 3 weeks. I've been working much harder at keeping the calories down and the exercise up this week.....so hopefully things will kick in as springtime slowly unfolds here. I can almost see the sun for the first time this week.

I'm going to Canada for the weekend, and I'm going to try really hard to be good. I'm tired of blowing all my hard work during the week with a couple of days of "freedom".

Cat--I did ask the dentist about pulling the tooth and how much it would cost as I am simply a WIMP about needles. The thought of a root canal just makes me sick to my stomach. The tooth is in the back, but not ALL the way in the back......so there would be a gap, and teeth tend to move around when they aren't propping each other up. So, likely it would totally mess up my bite. Plus it's a "good chewing tooth", so I kinda need it. He said I could put an "implant" in later to fill the gap. But all in all, it would cost more to do the pulling and implant than the root canal and crown. He didn't pressure me to do anything until I was ready (or in howling pain!)......so I'm not going to worry about it. Maybe I'll make a decision this summer. I'm just relieved that I didn't have anything MORE wrong that had to be dealt with.

WELCOME BACK AMANDA!! We Missed You :grouphug: :balloons:

Susan--I know that there are many factors to how severely you get pms symptoms and they do change over time. Since I stopped taking the pill, I get much worse symptoms......but I don't get migraines. So, it's not a bad trade. I've noticed that as I get older my mood swings get more and more severe! I have a day or two where I can't STAND to have anyone touch me or talk to me and I'm always snapping at the kids. I've learned, though, when to recognize when it's happening and I have a homeopathic remedy that calms me down some. Then again, maybe I was always like this and just never noticed

Faye, be careful with those fumes......they can affect color judgement! :lol3:

Can't wait to see how we all did this week! I really want to be under 200 by my show. That's 6 or 7 pounds in 4 weeks......Hmmmmmm

Be back later,
Julie

Morning All ...

I did weigh in this morning, even though I got my TOM yesterday and I was a pound and a half up...which is normal for me during my TOM...I have killer cramps this morning, severe...better get out the ol Midol...
So next weeks weigh in will show my true weight....and I know that next week I will be under 200 ( I better be, ha ) ....

Julie - Congrats on the one pound loss, keep up the good work :cheer:
You do not have to cheat this weekend :nono: You can be strong :strong:
Just keep thinking about being under 200 !!! :cloud9:

Hope everyone has a good day, cant wait to see other losses from our group

My scale is close enough to 190 so that's what I'm claiming! the needle was a hair higher, but asn I moved things around suddenly it was saying exactly 190 over and over so HA! That's 2 pounds down! and 6 pounds and 8 weeks away from my mid-june goal. The funny thing is, I've been this weight since monday...meaning, I lost BOTH pounds over the Easter weekend when I did no working out and Eating whatever. Funny how the body works.

I did all my cardio yesterday, But, ran out of time and didn't get and weights in and I slipped on water again. Arg! But all in all things are going ok.

Julie - :cheer: Here's cheering you on to fight temptation on vacation!

Good day all!

Well Done Julie and Susan :cp: Julie i know what you mean about teeth moving about because i had one of my back, bottom, middle? if that makes sense  taken out donkeys years ago and the two back ones have moved forward and kinda closed the gap  you'd never know that one was missing ;) its never affected my bite tho' :dunno: i'll have to ask hubby the next time i go for him

Exercise is kaput, doing firewood and gardening  eating is kaput :( thanks to the easter bunny  really need to get back on track and start things happening again, feel free to kick me in my A$$ ;)

Amanda456: I am SOOOOO glad you came back to us. Lots has changed and lots of new "faces" but we are all glad you came back and we will help you to work back to where you want to be!

Julie: Hope you have a great time in Canada and I know you will do great with food choices!

I got 90% of the upstairs bathroom painted (now that I have the correct paint color) and all the countertop and cabinet in the downstairs bath done. Jack is doing some plastering so I can paint the downstairs bath tomorrow. We have a couple ceiling patches we have to spray the textured stuff on the ceiling so we will try and get that done tomorrow. I am working hard but not doing regular exercise. I am trying to get so much done this weekend so I can get back to a routine. I kind of feel out of it though I am not pigging out or anything.

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Talk to you tomorrow!

Faye :) THOUGHT FOR THE DAY: God made us individuals and we are not ALL meant to be size 2. Be healthy, but be happy with how he made you.

Hi all,

I didn't get a chance to check in yesterday for an awesome reason - a friend of mine got free tickets to see Prince in concert so I had to leave right after work and we got back late (that awful after-concert traffic).

I did manage to get in all 4 points yesterday, and weighed in with a weight loss of 6 1/2 lbs for the week :cb: (my first week back on a plan). I know only too well that first weeks are not typical, so I'm not expecting the same miracle every week but it helps get things off to a good start.

I did manage to get another migraine yesterday afternoon  , but took the max of my medicine and got it to go away in a couple of hours (in time to leave for the concert, thankfully). (Yes, I have seen specialists, in case you're wondering and there doesn't seem to be much they can do.)

Here's something to make people smile for today - an embarassing moment by yours truly:

I was on a long flight and had the window seat. An obviously pregnant woman was next to me, and a man had the aisle seat. I had to get up and go to the bathroom, so I had to squeeze by the other two. I was debating whether to face away so they have my backside in their direction or face towards them. I opted to face away (I'm not sure what the proper etiquette is). I made it out fine, but when I was done and trying to scoot back through (facing away again) I stumbled and lost my balance in front of the pregnant woman. I turned my upper half and tried to catch myself so I didn't land in her lap. I tried to grab for her seat back and instead ended up grabbing HER BREAST!!!!! :o I made it back to my seat and then spent the rest of the flight apologizing (she was very nice about it). I was not sorry when the flight was over!

Have a great Saturday!

Hi my friends - I have been MIA for quite a while. I have had some personal challenges to overcome including establishing a new weight loss regimine which I have been working for three weeks.

You may recall I stopped going to MWL - decided to go back to a metabolism system designed for my body type. I made a goal poster and committed to keeping a food/exercise diary everyday. The first week went great! Ate right, excercised, drank the water and by the end of the week lost a couple of inches, and about 2 lbs. By the second week I had fallen off the water, and by the third week, the exercise and now I am up a pound over when I started!   I am sure falling behind on my commitment to post has not helped my mental health and psyche.

Okay - enough pity party - Forgive me Faye - I know it is not Wednesday Woes. I don't want to be depressed about this because I know what it takes for me to lose consistently - it takes consistent action with the 4 goals I have set daily: Water, Movement, Meals, and Mental Uplifting. I always managed to do 2 or 3 of the 4 consistently in a week's time but I takes all four.

I know Monday is the day for setting challenges but I am claiming today as the first day of the rest of my life. For the next week:

Water - 75 oz a day
Movement - Treadmill - 25 min. 5 days/ Crunches & Pushups 5 days
Meal Plan - 3 Protein based - low carb meals and 2 Veggie or fruit based snacks a day (Sounds wierd but works for my body type - lost 18 lbs on this plan once)
Mental - Diary, 3fc posting, goal poster charting every day

I know I can count on all of you to keep me focussed on keeping my commitment. If it is to be, it is up to me.

Hi everyone! here is a poem for Sunny Thoughts Saturday! Hope you all like it I got it off of a website called funnypoets.com     Battle Of The Bulge

"I'll start a new one Monday", we've heard it all before,
but if I don't really start one soon I won't make it through the door.

I start with good intentions of that I can't deny,
I'm getting fatter by the hour, I'll really have to try.

So no more chips or chocolate, no more 'pigging out'
I'll be be very careful what I eat of that there'll be no doubt.

I'll watch my waist get tiny, I'll watch my figure thin,
Oh what a joy it's going to be to at last be nice and slim.

I can see me walking down the street in dress size number ten,
I just have to resist and resist I will when I get a hungry yen.

With exercise in every form and regular daily jogs,
you'll see me lazing by the pool in my top designer togs.

So come join me all you tubbies, come join with me at last,
I'll need all the help that I can get to get me through this fast.

If you see me eating lollies or sneaking greasy fries,
then smack my hand and click your tongue, remind me of my size.

I'm sure that I can make it, I just need a little space
before Monday comes around again, till then I'll "stuff my face"!

have a good one,
Amanda

Hi Friends!

Thanks for the warm welcome - it's good to be back! :thanks:

Welcome back to Amanda and Mscat - good on you for coming back to the fold!

I've spent some time today giving myself a good talking to about my diet. I've had a close look at why I keep failing at my attempts to lose weight - I just wrote down what was in my heart and lots of stuff came out - some of them practical, most of them psychological. I struggle alot with depression which leaves me feeling numb alot of the time - and food is one of the few things that bring me pleasure. I definately have a unhealthy relationship with food - I use it to 'self medicate', to try to make me feel better if only for a few minutes - but as soon as I've finished I feel worse. I'm trying to understand why I find sticking to a diet so difficult - so I can avoid falling into the same traps again. I'd like to spend some time on this issue with a counseller, but I can't afford it at the moment -and I'm sure you lot are just as good! ;)

I'm going to return to my weightwatchers diet (at home) - because I don't feel I gave it a proper chance before and because Carri is setting such a great example and showing that it really works - if you stick to it!

Well done everyone on your weight loss this week - hope to join you next week!

Love Amanda xxx

Please make sure you see the message above. It is really unwise to have your e-mail address out in a public forum, that is why I never do it. Be assured, your address will never be given to someone here that wants it without me first getting an okay from you!

I am so glad to see some of our missing coming back. We all need each other to be able to do this.

My downstairs bath is beautiful and almost finished. We have the wallpaper border/chair rail to put up tomorrow and I want to touch up the trim with a little fresh paint, then I can put everything back together. We chose antique brass fixtures, switch plates and lighting and it looks like a whole different room. It is so bright with the new paint on the walls too. I also finished the upstairs bath painting and Jack went to put up my new "baskets" for towels and such. It said it was a "kit" BUT there are no brackets for the wall so we have to go out and purchase them separately. SHEESH, just what does "kit" mean anyhow!

Let's get on the ball ladies and really start working hard towards some summer goals. We will be starting our new challenge in just about 2 weeks so everyone is invited to join in that this quarter.

Everyone have a very nice evening and I will talk to you in the morning!

SUNDAY: Today is Silly Poll Sunday and here is today's silly poll: When you have "mad" money to spend, what do yo spend it on?

Morning ladies, hope all went well with you yesterday.

As for the poll, I am a HUGE handbag and shoe shopper so that would be what I'd buy. I also own tons of nail polish so a cheapy would probably be nail polish. In fact, I bought a new handbag from Caesar's Palace with their logo on the bag and a new pair of shoes while on vacation! I even bought nail polish, though it was just a top coat clear.

Have a good day today and I will check in later.

Good Morning Faye! :sunny:

I too am a big shoe shopper. But right now if I had money to spend on anything I would probally buy things for our house anything spiff it up. I just moved out of my parents house about a year and a half ago, so I still need some of the basics....;)

Faye, where is everyone? did everyone leave? :?: or is it just slow cause its the weekend. I remeber this message board was always hopping with new posts.

Well today its raining:rain: and foggy. its the first rain of spring, yesturday is was snowing. :( but atleast is melted as it hit the ground. :) I cant wait until summer if fully here, everything will be so nice and green.... :D

Jessica, Awesome weightloss :cp: well done! did you enjoy the concert? i was a huge Prince fan when he was popular and he has'nt changed at all

I should be out in the sun i've got to transplant some plants out and set up some pathway lights and it won't get done sitting here.

Hi everyone,

Cathy -Thanks for the cheer! The Prince concert was AMAZING. He did a fair amount of the old classics, and his new music is just great.

Faye - I love to decorate / redecorate, and you sound like you're up to your eyeballs in it! I know it's hard work, but I find it so incredibly rewarding.

Poll: I am addicted to crafts so I get a lot of different supplies. I just made a set of wine glass charms, and now I'm working on little name tags for my co-workers that look like baby bracelets (we work in an OB-GYN office).

My husband and I are going to visit a friend this weekend, and I'm already worrying about where we will go to eat and will I resist temptation and blah blah blah. I'm an all or nothing dieter, so I worry that if I give in and splurge that I'll fall off the wagon (which has happened countless times before). I just don't do moderation very well. I can diet or I can eat everything I see.

Hope the next week goes well for everyone :D

I know it's late but it is the first opportunity I have to post! I have had a busy and hectic Sunday. I am ready for bed and just though I would check in. Had a 2 pointer day. I am up to 1.5 miles on the treadmill in 30 minutes. Planning to build up to 3 between now and June so I can run the 5k in the Race for the Cure. :tread:

As far as the Silly Poll goes - It used to be shoes - I am down to 30 pair now that I have broken my addiction. Lately it seems to be Jewelry. Purchased $200 at a jewlry show today. :yikes: I charged it (I am a charg-a-holic) so my dh doesn't know how much I spent.

Amanda, I also love buying stuff for the house- Pier 1 is my happy store although it is soooo expensive I usually only window shop.

zookeeper - thanks for the review on Prince - he is coming here and we were wondering if his come back concert would be any good.

cat90 - thanks for the welcome

Faye - So glad to hear about your bathroom project coming to an end - we are still down to the studs and dirt in ours and it has been that way since Christmas!!!!

Have a great week! mscat

Well I was MIA all weekend but that is how crazy my weekend was, crazy but fun and so relaxing...my dh's best friend went to Florida with his family so dh actually spent the whole weekend with me, go figure
It was like 78 degrees on Saturday, and sunny, and 80 yesterday, everyone was out and about, great warm weather....of course my air conditioner ran all freakin day, gonna love to see that bill next month :(

I had two 3 point days, no exercise, I like to walk outside but once it gets this hot I hate it, so may have to opt only indoors from now on...

Julie - Glad you had a good time in Canada and glad that you made it home safely...new van? yeah!! But I hear ya on the new payment, ugh....

Jessica - I really like Prince, that would have been a good concert to go to, also congrats on the amazing loss last week, you have a great start!!! :cp:

Amanda - Great to hear from you again. Thanks for the compliment about my weight loss with WW...the program will absolutely work if you are honest with yourself about what you eat and dont cheat!!!
