Thought I'd do the work this time.
I had forgotten that you all were talking about the Indian Casino's. We do go sometimes. We each take $20 and when it is gone we go home. I always joke that I should just find the first Indian in the place and just hand over my money. I'm not lucky at the slots! :dizzy:
Glenda Grandaughters are fun. They steal your heart with those coy little smiles. I think girls come fully loaded with all that stuff in them like a car. Also as so as my GD's have learned to walk they have been clumping around in my high heels.
Hope all of you make it to you WW meeting this week Empowering Beliefs is the topic . Very powerful those beleifs we have in our hearts and heads.
I think it must tbe the time of year. All of the meetings are down right now, But the Spring Diet season is upon us and the meeting rooms will fill up again.
Got to go Talk to you all later.

Karen, Thanks for starting the new thread. I went to my WW meeting on Monday and that was the topic. Fortunately I was down a WHOLE pound! I think I said last week I feel cheated :s: when I lose in increments! Glenda, thanks for supporting me! I've promised myself - speak of empowering beliefs - that I am doing this for as long as it takes!
Minnesota Women's basketball team is going on to the Final Four in New Orleans! :bravo:
 It's nice to see spring making an appearance in chilly Minnesota. There is just a hint of color in the trees and it makes me hopeful that it WILL arrive!
Hope you all have great days!

Ann: Your dream is a great one. I will be the supervisior. As Im not crafty :) Ill just drink coffee and push you others in to getting it done :)
Karen: I heard Line Dancing is really fun. Never tried it before. But alot of people talk about it and what a great work out it is to.
Slavika: That Norton Spam thing sounds pretty good. Not a bad deal either. Sounds like something to get. Good thing it gets rid of some of the pop up ads. I hate those. and it seems its getting worse and worse now to.
Glenda: Your Makenzie sounds so adorable. How old is she now?
Our Meetings at WW are all way down to.
Karen: Thats probably what I should do is just hand them my 20$ and leave  I can last a while on it but Im not lucky either.
MArnie: You are doing great! You are losing and thats what counts! You will get there. It just takes time.
We had a lady enroll last night. All she could talk about was Atkins. The leader was going over the program with her and they had mentioned bread. She said I wont eat bread. I havent for a year why start now? :dizzy: She said I have been on Atkins for a year now and have only lost 85 pounds (nothing to sneeze at in my book)
I have 85 more to go and Im looking for something faster :p
well it doesnt work that way so we shall see how long she lasts :lol3:
Night all!

 Morning, all.
I've opted to wear my old glasses to work today. I'm working with spreadsheets and the bifocals are making me dizzy. :dizzy:
I've been meaning to ask you all: do you get up frequently during the night to visit the "powder" room? I think it's every 2 hours for me. I can't remember when I slept through a whole night! :dunno: I DO get right back to sleep though, but what a nuisance.
Hope there are no little  s fooling you today.

Hi Everybody :coffee:
Trudy asked me to let you all know that her computer is very sick..... :( and her sil is going to fix it for her (he is very good at that) but it may take awhile as he is going out of town for a couple of days. She is not sure when she will be online again.
Ann what do you think??? Should we have Lily be our supervisor if we "open" shop? Doesn't sound to me like she will work very hard, but then maybe she is very GOOD at drinking :coffee: and telling people what to do.
Marnie with your new glasses it's important that you move your EYES to find the reading part of the glasses not your HEAD. My DH had a bit of trouble with his progressive lenses when he first got them and that is what his eye doctor told him. He quickly got used to them once he started doing that. The doctor also told him not to be switching between his old glasses and his new ones, because it would just take him longer to adjust. Hope this helps you a little bit. :)
About running to the bathroom all night long....I certainly do that. I drink a large amount of water right up to the time I go to bed and also I am diabetic. I think that's a combination that ensures that anybody would be up and down like a tennis ball all night. I also "usually" manage to fall back to sleep each time. You are not alone.
I can't remember all that was on our last board but hello to you all. Talk to you soon.

Marnie: Yes I do get up alot at night. I tried to quit drinking anything after 7:30 PM but it still doesnt help. :^:
Slavika:  Trust me you dont want me making any crafty things unless its on the puter. Cuz if you do you wont sell nothing :dizzy:
Poor Trudy. Hope its nothing to serious and her SIL can fix it. Tell her hello! she is missed!
Back to work. Nothing exciting here :coffee:

Marnie I got to tell you that you are normal. I'm up every 2 hours at least. I too am lucky enough to go right back to sleep. Most of the time. It doesn't mater when I quit drinking my water. If I don't have anything after 7:30 I'm up because I'm THIRSTY  One way or the other I'm up.
Lily i get a lot of people like that. I've very bad when it comes to that kind of negitive pers. After about the 100th I can't or I wont or but.... :blah: :blah: :blah: I tell them If they want to lose weight They need to think positive and do the program as it is written not ther own version of the program. If they really want to lose weight they will find a way to make the program work. Sometime thoses people go away never to be seen again. But most time after my little talk :coach: they buy 10 at a time. :cheer:
Slavika Tell Trudy we miss her. And I hope her puter gets well soon.
It's been a long day so see you all tomorrow.

I can't believe I am seeing snowflakes. It was so gorgeous last week and now the rain has turned to that white stuff. Doesn't it know it is April?
I also get up many times during the night. I really hate to when it is cold.
Ann what is this craft shop idea? Do you think we would be getting anything done? I see us sitting around and having tea time and gabbing. Of course since I would be the manager I could crack the whip. LOL
Marnie it takes a while to get used the glasses. I had a catastrophe yesterday-mine broke. I super glued the stem back on and have an apt April 20th with a new dr. He comes recomended and is up the street. Just hope they last that long. Yea on losing that pound. Slow and steady wins the race.
We have 3 casinos about 40 minutes away over the line in Indiana. We go about once a year if that often. We take about $20 and when its gone its time to go.
Lily it will interesting to see how long she lasts. Maybe she will see the light.
Well nothing real exciting is happening here. Got to go do some laundry.

Those people with the "yeah, but....." attitude just tear me up. We had a lady who was only happy if she lost 2 pounds every week. Before long she wasn't happy, of course. To set yourself up for that kind of failure is just so unrealistic. First of all, if you starve yourself to lose the 2 pounds a week, you won't last very long. And if you don't starve yourself, you rarely lose 2 pounds every single week. Catch 22.
All, I hope you know that OSU is in the Final 4. We have had such a fun week here in Stillwater. As I speak, I have on a new T-shirt emblazoned with the team's coach and numbers. We play Georgia Tech tomorrow at 5. And, if we win, my boss will be gone Monday and Tuesday. Keep your fingers we win! Ha, ha.
I have an eye appointment on Monday to get new glasses. I don't have glasses now, just contacts and my eyes get so tired at night, I end up planted in front of the tv if I really want to see. Cannot wait to get glasses too.
Regarding gambling: I do not understand the attraction at all. If I have money, I want SOMETHING for it. I so rarely have money, it is no problem at all.
WW rules! (or maybe I should just say "good sense rules"--same thing.)

Karen: Good for you on giving them the talk. This lady was unreal tho. She told the leader that she had to eat all day. The leader tried to tell her she could still do that, she just needed to find lower point foods and the fill up on Veggies etc. But all the lady could say was well I dont see how I can do that and get this weight off fast. I have 85 more pounds to go and I dont want it to take another year.
Peggy: Snowflakes??? Gee it suppose to be spring. Hummmm I see you are trying to steal my job. :lol3:
Glenda: Hope the teams wins! Then you will have a boss free couple of days :cb: I wear Contracts to. But I do have glasses for night. Its great. Because my eyes do get tierd and I just want those contracts out when they do. You will be happy when you get them!
Yeah its almost the weekend!

Hi Everybody :coach: guess you all know now that Peggy wants to be the Manager of the new craft business in Florida and Lily wants to be the Supervisor (and drink coffee, mustn't forget that part of her job description). I can see where this venture headed.....hee hee   nowhere, absolutely, nowhere! ;)
Now gals...about gambling. I have to admit that I quite like to go to a casino every once in awhile but I too, limit myself to $20.00. DH and I have gone about twice in the last couple of years and I have gone with some gals a couple of times too. I actually won a little bit of money when I went with the girls. :)
I know what Maria's
DH does for a living and also Lily's and then Ann's DH is retired, but I don't know what Marnie's, Peggy's or Glenda's DH do for a living....or maybe they are retired. I know that Karen's DH
is or will soon be retired too.
I am not feeling too good today. I had a sore throat yesterday and pretty much lost my voice (YIKES...that was tragic). Today my voice is still not too good, my throat is really sore and I have a dry kind of cough. :(
Maria are still away?
Bye now gals.....

Sounds to me like we are going to have too many "Chiefs" and not enough "Indians" in our Florida dream adventure. That would certianly doom any business, so maybe we better just decide on 'teatime' at least twice a week. ;)
Why is it that people can't accept the fact that it probably took 5 or 10 years to gain enough weight to have to lose 85 plus 85, and that it isn't going to come off fast. It has to be 'steady as she goes' to quote my Sea Captain husband.
We have had some sad days. Our friend who is so ill, had to go back to England, for the National Health. They didn't want to go, but the supplemental insurance wouldn't cover any long term treatment. And we know that unless God does a miracle, and I know that He could do it if it is in His plan of things, we probably won't see Graham again. It is sad, because they don't have a big support group over there. Their kids live quite a ways from the hospital, and work, and they had moved into a new village, and haven't had time to make new friends. Say a prayer for them. Carole and Graham
Marnie: I have new glasses too, and I am finding them harder to adjust to, since they are smaller lenses than I am used to, and the reading part is smaller. I have tri-focals, and the middle part if fine, but getting used to the position of the reading area is driving me nutty. I never had a problem before with steps, but now I have to be careful  I couldn't wear the progressive lenses at all.
Slavika: I loved the info on Chernoble. What a sad situation there. Please say Hi to Trudy and hope she gets her puter all fixed up.
Glenda: I'm not into sports much, so did your team win? Hope you are going to have a 'bossless' couple of days. I agree that most little girls are just born with all the special little things that are girly. Except for the occaisional 'tomboy'. but sometimes I think the tomboys usually have older brothers that they have to keep up with.
Karen: When are you coming to Fl? Made any plans as yet? Keep me posted please.
Lily: I guess you and Peggy will have to fight it out for the 'boss lady/drink coffee position. Until then, I think we will just go for teatime. You know we would all have big gab-fests anyway, so we might as well do it over tea and goodies, or even a glass of wine now and again.
Peggy: Will you go for the 'teatime' solution? I'm sure that Marnie and I don't want to be the only workers in this 'company' so teatime it is. :D
Have to go to work and preview the video for our small group tonight. And make sure that things are in a reasonable state of cleanliness before everyone comes at 6:00p.m. I know I want to go to sleep early tonight. I hate the first few days after the time change. 'See' you later. Ann

Hi Everybody :coffee:
Maria sorry you are having computer problems. :( I have to tell you that yesterday I went back to the supermarket where I "said" I saw the motor home for $17,000.00. Would you believe it.....the gal who had put up the orginal notice that I saw was back putting up a new notice because someone had taken her original one off. So gals, I am not losing it. The notice was there but I guess gone by the time DH went and checked. The motor home was an older one, 1984, but that gives you an idea of what one that old would cost. The gal that was putting up the notice said it was in good condition, but I think that motor home would be only good enough to maybe take it a few miles to a lake, not on a long trip like you guys are planning.
Ann I agree. Let's just scrap the whole idea of doing anything that even suggests work and just have :coffee: Tea Time :cofdate:
Marnie way to go on the loss. Think how disappointed you would have been if you were up .2# :)
I am having just a miserable time with this weight issue. When I was sick last week it didn't stop me from eating, in fact I was constantly LOOKING for something to eat. I think next Tuesday I will go back to Weight Watchers and get with the program and listen to the lecture and regain some focus. I have an acquaintance who sent me an e-mail saying she was going back so I think I will join her. :goodscale
I am not having tea time today. When I wasn't feeling well I didn't get much done around here, but I have finished my curtains now and they are up. I am pleased how they turned out. They are just simple oyster coloured sheers but they just finished the room off. :) This afternoon I will get busy and vaccum and do some dusting.
Talk to you all later. :grouphug:

Marnie, I had two weeks in a row with that whopping big loss. Finally, I decided maybe I should try water and the next week--Voila! 2.2 pounds lost! If it goes on for long, you might just need to see if there is something you may be doing (unknown to you) that might be sabotaging the process. That is what I usually do. My SIL for a long time was using the squirt butter spray on popcorn. She "squirted" a lot. Anyway, on the can it says that one squirt has 0 calories. One week her microwave was broken and she lost 3 pounds. The only thing different was the popcorn. So, she came to the conclusion that if you squirt enough, you may be getting a lot of calories you don't know about.
Slavika, as far as your Florida enterprise, my DH is still sort of gainfully employed, for another 2 years anyway. He is an electrician for the University where I work. And no, we did not win that game so I have had a boss yesterday and today. The town was sort of bummed out because we lost our game by TWO POINTS. But we made it to the Final Four which is a big deal.
Well, now I am down 14.2 pounds! I am so excited! I am not so thin or anything, but what I am excited about is that I seem to have "clicked" onto the program. YEA!

Marnie: its a loss and thats what counts. I agree with Glenda. Maybe there is something that you arent aware of. Are you getting your Fat in? Its important. And will help also in the Weight loss.
Slavika: Your curtains sound pretty! Bet your house is very nice with all that you have done to it. Sounds like everything fits so well together.

G'day all,
Great to come home and read the many posts, I won't even attempt to comment on all issues raised :dizzy: but all posts were read with great interest.
We had a great time and were very proud parents at the graduation ceremony when our daughter received her double degree. Couldn't resist showing off and attaching a photo of her.
After the graduations we spend 5 days in the Grampians which is a mountain range 3 hours out of Melbourne. Magnificent weather and just very relaxing and enjoyable.
The only damper on the whole time was that I had a virus on my computer the day I arrived in Melbourne.
The day before I had scanned my computer with McAfee, ensured I had the latest updates and felt quite smug when the report came back that all was well. I couldn't believe that despite all of that I still got someone who hacked into my computer and corrupted it. We spoke to someone on the helpdesk of my dh's company and he said that I was very vulnerable because I was connected to the net 14 hours a day. DH's connects but then goes through a 'tunnel' and connects to his works network making him much less vulnerable. The helpdesk person suggested some additional 'firewalls' etc.
I have yet again re-formatted my computer and I am squeeky clean again.
I still have to install a lot of my programs but by the weekend all should be well again. I am becoming an expert at re-formatting my hard drive ;) thank ngoodness everything was backed up on my new external hard drive.
Weight wise all is going well, no losses to report but no gains either which I am very happy about.
The weather is promising to be superb for the Easter weekend and we will be getting out in the garden, planting my bulbs and dh is putting a little pond in my little backyard.
My 2 sisters are coming for lunch on Easter Monday.
Better get back and continue to get my computer back to normal.
Cheers

Oh, boy, Easter is Sunday already. Lent went fast! :dunno:
My DH is the executive assistant to the president of an asset company in Burnsville, MN. The company deals mostly in coins, but have other memorabilia as well. For a while they were dealing with sports memorabilia (Babe Ruth's uniform, autographed baseballs, etc.) but sold that part of the business to another company.
DS is a bartender at Ruth Chris's steak house in Minneapolis.
I work in a small law office in downtown St. Paul. Right now I'm losing my mind :yikes: over spreadsheets that eventually go to Court. They are compilations of trusts over a five-year period. BTW, there are several trusts.
Glenda, I was :cheer: for Oklahoma - sorry they couldn't pull it off. GREAT GOING ON YOUR WEIGHT LOSS! :queen: I do have popcorn occasionally - I think I'll try to avoid that this week. :crossed: Easter will present somewhat of a problem - my sister is such a great cook! But, to be honest, sweets are my biggest downfall. :eating2:
Slavika, I think it's great you're heading back to WW. I think the interaction with the other members is fun and you do learn different tips and hints.
Maria, hope your computer files are up and running soon. Thanks for the information on Firewall via Slavika. :thanks:

Glenda way to go on the lbs disappearing. I try to keep away from popcorn-now I need to work on the chocolate and cookies.
Slavika your curtains sound nice. Is it hard to sew on that kind of material? I have been kicking around the idea of going back to WW too. You know that program really works.
Marnie congrats on your losses too. ARe you doing better with the glasses?
Ann your friends are in my prayers. That is sad.

G'day all,
Just about back to normal again :cp: I have restored my addressbook and have everyone's email address again.
The 'Zone Alert' site I sent to Slavika in an email is working a treat......I think ;) I am amazed how many times different programs access the internet without me ever knowing until now and I am alerted by this software.
Peggy Great site, I had never seen it and another site now book marked for our planning of our trip to America. I have bought another book on the history of the USA and how all your states came about. It makes me realise how little I know about your history.
Marnie I would love your job, I think the law is fascinating and to be part of it has to be very interesting.
I am glad my dh doesn't have a job like yours, our house would be full of memorabilia :D As it is we have heaps of sports memorabilia that he has purchased at auctions etc., most worth very little although at the time of purchase he bought it as an 'investment'!
I loved the idea of us all meeting and pooling our talents, when is the first meeting? I hope to be able to make the meeting in 2 years time ;)
Lily you do make me cross, you have heaps of talent and you are NOT a computer nerd! What about all the creative stuff you do in PSP? You would make a huge contribution to our talent pool but then again Ann's idea of just teatime sounds pretty good too. We would have so many stories to share that there would be no time for any sort of work. :)
Oh well, dream on..............
Glenda you are doing so well with the losses :bravo: I feel very much the same, I am hardly what one would call thin, but I am no longer eating all the rubbish that I kept on being drawn to and had such a battle overcoming that urge. It is good to feel in control and of course the pay off is the gradual weight loss.
My new orthotics seem to finally be doing the trick and I am able to walk reasonable distances again, like an hour walk without coming home with bleeding blisters on my feet.
Talk to you later all.....
Cheers

G'day all,
Snow forecasted at your end of the world and it is almost like summer here.
I did a bit of gardening but it is too hot and I will wait to later this afternoon.
Marnie Waltzing Matilda is NOT our national anthem though many Australians regard it as such. Our anthem is 'Advance Australia Fair'.
Here is a site that will give you a little history on 'Waltzing Matilda' and the meaning of the words in the song.
http://www.nla.gov.au/epubs/waltzingmatilda/1-Origins.html
As far as speaking like Crocadile Dundee, I would like to think I do not have a strong accent like Steve Irwin , and I know I don't! Our accent is probably closer to that of Crocodile Dundee. My dh has a strong Australian accent, that is he mumbles ;) and some of his American colleagues have difficulty understanding him at times but he is very aware of that and tries hard to speak clearly and not to use Australian-ism's (is that a word???)
Australians speak very much the same, by that I mean we do not have distinct Southern accents, New York accents etc. like you do. Different states have diffent little sayings but they are very minor.
I am intrigued by your Southern accent ala Dolly Parton, do any of you speak like that? It almost sounds as though it not for real and that it is put on.
If we all had so much money that we did not know what to do with, we could have meeting at each others places every three months, we could just nip over in our Lear Jet :D :D
DS and his wife are on the way riding their bikes to our place, I better go and get some lunch ready for them.....
Have a great Easter all, by the way Slavika loved your email, thank you!
Cheers

Snow on Easter?????? Alas!
MAria: Glad you got your puter fixed. Love the Photo of your Daughter. She is so pretty! I dont think anybody talks like Dolly Parton but Dolly  It really depends on where you are from and your accent. My DH can sound like a New Yorker cause he was born back on the east coast. But his accent has changed since he moved to the west coast. Still comes out tho.
Peggy: I agree tea time is better. Sides I know we wouldnt work anyways. We would all be to Busy Gabbing and laughing :)
Hope you all have a great Easter!
