For the past week or so, I haven't had much of an appetite at all. I literally have to force myself to eat, and the thought of food isn't really very appealing. Has this happened to anyone else? I know I am not anorexic, but I felt like it this weekend. I wonder if I am not eating enough carbs?

HI Catgirl,

One of the benefits/side effects of being in ketosis is loss of appetite. You will see that there are days when you need to remind yourself to eat - but you must eat - this is very important.

do you use fitday? You might want to get a free account (www.fitday.com) to log in your eating to ensure you are getting enuf carbs and calories and that your ratios are okay (65% fat, 30% protein and 5% carbs).

That happened to me in the beginning of Atkins, but now my appetite is back full force, I have to figure out how to keep it satisfied w/out going crazy on calories.

My system is weird because it goes from being "starved" feeling (brain problem) to being not hungry at all and forcing myself to eat. I like the having to force myself to eat more :)
