100 lb. Club - Weekly weigh in March 28th - April 4th!

03-28-2004, 09:56 PM
Hello all,
I am happy to announce that I lost a total of 4 pounds last week...making a grand total loss of 31 pound loss....wohoo. It is funny that eating right and working out can have that effect  Last week I tried yoga for the first time! I loved it...and I am still hurting from it....seriously. I was really relaxed, and got a lot out of it! And my three year old son also tried a yoga play class...and he loved it! I am glad that he got so much out of it...about a year ago he told me that he wanted to go to yoga class...and I was like, "huh?" because he only knew about yoga from us when we stretch...we would say YOGA. So for Christmas I bought him a yoga mat and Yoga kids video!

O.k...so, I wanna know how everyone else measured up this past week?

Gina - congrats!!! Last week I was so motivated by you! you told us that you had a plan and stuck with it - well this week I tried to do the same. (I wasn't good the whole week - but I did make a plan) I lost 2 lbs!
btw Gina.. I love yoga - haven't done it in a long time... (maybe I should think about that again) it can be a very active exercise.

Ok, time to fess up. I am back to 290. That's a gain of 6 lbs. I have been off plan for the last 2 weeks being sick (NO excuse) and I know I was off plan the week before that. So that's pretty much all of March down the tubes. I wasn't going to get on the scale this morning, I was thinking, whatever, I know I am up. But then I realized that I need to know where I am. I am still sick. Might need to go back to the doc this week!

I won't bore you with the "this week I am going to get back on track!" details. I faced the music, changed my sig and I'm moving on.

Gina and Dana - Congrats!!! :D :D

I lost 4 more lbs. and 2 more inches around the waist. Total of 19 lbs and 20 in for March!! :)

03-29-2004, 11:10 AM
I stayed the same this week. Gina, Dana and Gretchen - congrats on the great losses. Sandi, I am sorry that you are still feeling unwell. It is more important to get healthy and just do what you can to take care of yourself! Have a great week!

Gina, Dana, Gretchen and Jenaya (hope I didn't miss anybody) - congrats on a great week. I stayed the same - 232.5. I know what I'm doing wrong - eating snacks after 7pm. I need to set a "no eating after a certain time" policy and stick to it! That'll be my goal for this week.
Sandi, I hope you're feeling better. It's brave of you to step on that scale when you know it's going to show a gain. You're tough - you'll prevail!

03-29-2004, 11:23 AM
I am down to 176 last night at the gym so that is down 2 lbs.

03-29-2004, 01:24 PM
I'm down 4.5 pounds which is surprising since I was having problems staying within points!

Congrats everyone on the losses and Sandi--we know you'll get back on track, sometimes one of the hardest parts is having to admit a gain in your siggy.

03-29-2004, 02:23 PM
Yay, Gretchen and tolose, you go with your bad selves! Congrat's also to Dina, dowsx, and Jenaya -- great job, everybody! Sandi, you'll get back on track -- just take care of your health and get back to the doc, then take it from there. Don't be hard on yourself, just remember the great feeling of losing and know that you'll get that back just as soon as you're able. You know how to do it; you're just not physically up to it right now, and that's not under your control. As soon as it is, just take the first step towards your old "loser" routine, and you'll see progress once again. You did it before, you'll do it again.

As for me, I'm 17 pounds down for March so far. (Just two pounds last week, but I'll take 'em!) ;)

03-29-2004, 03:56 PM

What plan are you doing? We both lost about the same for March.. Just curious to see what you are doing and how I could incorporate some new ideas into my plan.

03-29-2004, 04:38 PM

I've posted here once before (last week) but haven't posted since then. I'll jump right in again if that's ok. :)

I lost 2 lbs last week, making my total for March 13.5 lbs. I've lost 34 lbs since 1/12/04. I staying on a low fat diet. I can't excercise at the moment but plan to start in the summer.

Congrats on the weight loss everyone and I'll check back again soon.

Ingrid, that's great!!!!!!!! Hope you have another good week this week.

03-29-2004, 08:48 PM
Congrats, losers!

Sandi, I have found that every time I change my sig, I either gain or lose!!! True story. Grrrrrrr.

I will find out later tonight @ the gym & edit this post.

281.5. A whole half a pound. Gah. Should be better.

03-30-2004, 06:16 AM
SAPF...half a pound, is a half of pound...yay for you! And congrats to everyone else who either lost or maintained.

Sandi, Sandi, Sandi....I agree with all of the other posters...please do not be so darn hard on yourself...that is the first thing that came to mind. Second, please get better soon...because you need to feel good before you start making all of these changes to your body...it can only take so much! And the siggy line thing...man, sometimes chaging that is worse than confession!!!!! LOL...

03-30-2004, 11:24 AM
Congrats loosers! Congrats to those who are facing the music (not beating themselves up!) and moving forward. Hoorah!

I lost this week! 3.5 pounds! I am very pleased...since that is more like my weight loss for a month usually. Guess the change in my exercise routine is helping!

Also....most importantly....I am back into loosing "virgin" pounds! :)

03-30-2004, 11:52 AM
congrats to all the losers. you are all doing great. i on the other hand have a question, how is that the week that i don't go to the gym any at all i loose 4 lbs. and the week i go 5 out of 7 days i gain 1 lb.? i don't know if i will ever understand the scales. anyway i am going to say it is because i a building muscle and the fact that tom is on its way. hope everyone is having a great day.

03-30-2004, 11:54 AM
Virgin pounds...wow what a great feeling.....kinda makes you feel like a virgin again...becuase I can barely remember life before I was a virgin ;) ...and I can barely remember life before loosing these virgin pounds! I know....kind of warped thinking...but hey! :p

03-30-2004, 12:02 PM
YGG that is so great. and no i don't think that your thinking is warped at all. keep up the good, no great work.

03-30-2004, 01:07 PM
Hey Audrey - my losses usually show up on the scale the following week...Kinda frustrating to gain when you've been exercising and loose in the week you weren't as vigilant about exercise....I'm sure that we can all relate!! The key is, by building muscle you are increasing your metabolism. Muscle at rest burns more calories than fat. Hoora! Keep up with all the good stuff you are doing....50.5 pounds...wow. Something is working! It's all about the downward "trend" baby!

03-30-2004, 04:16 PM
Hi everyone.

Sounds like everyone's doing great and sticking with it.

This ? will make me sound very new but what are virgin lbs??? I've never heard that term before.

Thanks and hope everyone is having a great day.

03-30-2004, 11:36 PM
Wow ... you guys are doing great!!! I'm struggling. I did lose 1lb, but I'm really having a rough time ... I'll post more details under a different thread.

Ingrid, "Virgin Pounds" are those you haven't lost and regained. So if you weigh 250 and get down to 240 then go back up to 242 ... the first 2 pounds you lose are those that you gained, and when you drop below 240 you are losing "virgin pounds". Does that make any sense?!?!?

03-31-2004, 11:44 AM
i lost 1, bringing me to 181. 1 more till virgin pounds! (i always talk about my virgin pounds. thanks for explaining, step!)

03-31-2004, 11:45 AM

What plan are you doing? We both lost about the same for March.. Just curious to see what you are doing and how I could incorporate some new ideas into my plan.

Oh my gosh, Gretchen -- I just noticed that you had posted to me! So sorry!! In answer to your question, I'm not following any specific, packaged "plan," really; I stick to 1500-1550 calories/day on average, drink 100+ oz. water, maintain fat at 20-25% -- almost all monounsaturated, lean protein and low GI/complex carbs, roughly 40-40 balance protein/carbs, and no refined sugars. For further, you-could-slip-into-a-coma-it's-so-detailed information on my plan and my excitement about it, feel free to check out my "Hope and Optimism" post of about a week ago....I say a lot more.

What are you doing, you losing machine??? You're doing awesome! I'd love to learn how you're making it work for you as well....

Stay in touch! And really, you're doing a GREAT job, Gretchen!

04-01-2004, 01:27 PM
I am reading everyone's victories and feeling a little left out so here is mine. I am now about 10 lbs. from leaving the overweight category and entering the normal range in BMI for my height. :D

Congrats losers!
Miss Chris

04-01-2004, 06:20 PM
congrats everyone who lost!!!!!

and to all the almost losers, you're still doing great, keep up the good work!!!!

i'm in virgin territory myself now. i didnt make my april fools goal but i am not one bit disappointed at all. i finally had a change in the middle number on the scale!!!!! i'm in a whole new 'decade' if ya know what i mean.

anyway. i weighed a day early and weighed in at 248.6
i believe that's a 3 pound loss for the week
a 10.2 lb loss for the Ton Total and
24.2 lbs lost total.

04-01-2004, 08:40 PM
Congratulations to all the losers! I lost 3.4 lbs this week, bringing the my total lost in 2004 to 34 lbs!! :dancer:

04-02-2004, 01:09 AM
YAY everyone...we are kicking big but!! LOL

Ms. Chris...good to "see" ya again...you have not been around lately!!! So glad you are so close to your goal...wtg!

04-03-2004, 09:28 PM
3 more pounds lost, so I'm down 20 pounds now!! I'm so excited. I've been walking around thinking of all the things that weigh 20 pounds, and how I don't have to carry them around anymore! A sack of potatoes, a 20# iron barbell, my Italian Greyhound and one of my fatter cats.....

I'm pretty darned happy. :spin:
