Good Morning everyone and I mean EVERYONE! WOW!

This is absolutely amazing. Every time I come to this board there are more and more new faces:D! This is so great.

I don't have a ton of time so this will be quick. I just wanted to say hello to the newest members (Phillym and Denise). I'm so glad you've joined us. Phillym I also have an Orbitrek and I love it.

I hope I get more time to post later. Work has been crazy. It sounds like everyone is doing great and everyone is very motivating. Thanks for being here.

I'll be back later I hope:D!

How exciting...our little group isn't so little anymore! This is so neat! Maybe we're all getting Spring Fever of sorts!

Everyone is sounding great with their little goals! I have a little one now...I want to lose 8 pounds in a little over two weeks. Hmmm maybe 4 pounds a week is a little extreme! But at least I want to get below 200. Then, I'll "only" have 45 pounds to my goal by December 12. Ha! ONLY!!! It'll be okay!

I'm a bit busy at work too, and I'll definitely post again later. I have to share this great dessert I had! Have you ever heard of Entenmann's baked goods? They're usually sold around the Little Debbie snacks in grocery stores...anyway, we all know how great their chocolate chip cookies are...or shall I say, "chocolate hip" cookies, because they're so full of fat (but they're so yummy!). Anyway, they make these coffee cakes like apple and cream cheese..I got the cherry cheese coffee cake..and it's SOOO yummy! It tastes like rich cherry cheese cake!! And it's fat free! I couldn't believe it! Once slice (it's small, but rich!) is about 100 calories, no fat! Comes out to 1 or two points if you're on WW..I think...I lost my point finder! Anyway, we all deserve dessert that's not jello, so reward yourself!

It's so bad to reward yourself with food, but hey, it works for me!

I'm getting the major munchies..I gotta whip out my carrot sticks now before I get into trouble!

Hi everybody!

I'm guessing everyone has been out enjoying Spring! I know I have! Had a wonderful Sunday out hiking in the PA gamelands with my honey and our dogs. What a workout! My buns my not be made of steel yet, but I sure felt the burn!! :-) I went to the gym this morning and did my workout and felt great afterwards. I'm starting to get the hang of this!

Don't have much time but wanted to wish everyone well! Deb, don't worry about your minor Mc-D's slip...you're still on the right track!

Good luck everyone!!!!
Have a great week!

My eating has been great today. I had a tuna sandwich for lunch and a slim fast bar this afternoon. I'm not following the SF plan, but I find the bars a good sub for when I get in the mood for chocolate. I also go to www.slimfast.com where you can log your current and goal weights and chart your weight loss and log your food in a journal. It's free, so it's not bad.

I went home for lunch (dinner) and my BF had dinner ready! Well, they were left overs from this weekend, but it's a start for making dinner! I had a big plate of asparagus, new red potatoes, brussel sprouts and some organic pasta I made on Saturday. I had two peanut butter flavored rice cakes for a little dessert!

And now I'm back at work and of course I have the after-lunch munches so I'm having carrot sticks and I've got a few pretzels for later. Veggies are so filling and good for you. I really don't like carrot sticks all that much, but I pretend to!

Hope you're all having a great evening! I'm so glad I did my workout this morning...I have a "free" evening to get ready for class tomorrow and get to bed at a decent time!

Hi Everyone!

I did get on my cardioglide machine today & did 30min. I worked a little on my arms but I'll have to start with lighter weights until I can build up my strength. I have managed to walk 3.13 miles today so it's been a good day. I have done good with my points today so I am happy with that.

Womaninlove thanks for the encouragement about the McD's "incident"..LOL. I am ok with it. I didn't get really mad at myself because I had like 16 banked points so actually I was ok. I was just upset that I blew 20pts on a stupid meal.

Girlie, you've done really good today! You go girl!

Rose nice to see you...

Denise, Emmy, Philly, Pogo hope you had a good day...

Have a good one!:)

Hi Everyone! I didn't give myself anytime to argue with my brain on whether I should exercise today or not!! I got up ate breakfast and put my tape in and felt great afterwards!!

I am doing well with my eating as well and I got my hair done today which made me feel much better about myself.

I think all of you on this thread are such an inspiration to me. I always tell myself if they are exercising I can too. Hey whatever it takes to get me off my lazy behind I try it.

Hope everyone has a great afternoon!

Hey, all! I had a burrito for lunch...but the bad part was this cookie that I was "conned" into at work! But I'm vegging out for the rest of the day..of course I have my carrot sticks! Then, I'll be at the gym after work tonite so I'll be okay. I didn't have time for breakfast this morning but I had a short break between my eye doctor appointment and class so I went to CVS to look for a snack. Boy, was I tempted. I almost bought a slim fast bar, but I found these Health-something brand soy bars. They are next to the SF/Jenny Craig/energy bars, and I tried one. It was really gross. I took a bite and threw it away, and I don't throw food away very often! They have these VeryFine brand Fruit20 things...it's flavored spring water that isn't very sweet..it's calorie free/sugar free/non carbonated..I got the Lemon flavor and drank it down and that kept me full until lunch. If you have a problem getting all your water in like me, it's a good idea.

Otherwise, I'm just here! I really like burritos. I got this one at a burrito joint, so who knows how much fat and stuff was in it...but I always give myself something filling for the day and pretty much veg out for the rest of the day, like a few pretzels or the almighty carrot sticks...I've been trying to wokr on my water intake. For some reason, I tend to drink more if I have a sports bottle cap rather than a regular bottle..so I've been keeping one with me all the time.

Anway, I feel like I took a day off from the gym because I went yesterday morning. I'm going tonite..I'll see if I can do 45 minutes on the elliptical again. I have my contacts back, Rose, so I'll let you know if they make a difference rather than being blind!

Deb: I think it's okay to treat yourself sometimes (the McD's Incident). Have you tried a Garden McSalad Shaker with vinaigrette? 2 points and very filling!

WomaninLove: I'm surprised you're not here!!

Where are all y'all??!! You better be at the gym, but if not, you'd better not be eating!!! Ha..just kidding...no, really...it would be cool if you could let us all know that you haven't been sucked down into a whirlpool of chocolate!!!

Girlie you are too funny...I was thinking of eating something chocolate today too but, I sliced up some strawberries & ate them with a little cool whip (I love the stuff!!). I was proud of myself for resisting the chocolate.

I am doing good. I was planning on doing my tape tonight but, my VCR broke so that went out the window. I will do my cardioglide machine instead. I'll do my 30min and work on my arms some more. I want to try to fit in 30min worth of structured exercise everyday in addition to my walking.

Hopefully everyone is having a good day. Pop in and let us all know how you are doing.....

Talk to you all later....

That's funny..I just had sliced strawberries for dessert on Sunday night and yes, with Cool Whip Free..I love that stuff! You know, it's also good with a little bit of Hershey's syrup drizzled over it. The Hershey's chocolate syrup is fat free, and you can just use a few dribbles to satisfy your chocolate cravings! I have major chocolate cravings!!!

I ate this bad cookie...you guys ever have potlucks at work, or someone brings in treats and they practically force them on you? This one was a little sugar cookie, shaped like a bunny, with pink frosting and M&M eyes...it was looking into my eyes, saying..."eat me!"..and I did...starting with one ear, the other ear, then the head.....

oh my....

carrot sticks, here I come!!!!

Oh, Debbie, I like your new avatar!

Have any of you tried this? My local video store rents them out for free, so I'm going
to try it out to see if I like it. I'll let you all know if Billy Blanks is as tuff as he says he
is!!!!

He might be no match for the GirlieMaster, Queen of the Ellipticals, mother of Winston,

Girlie, don't even go there about the chocolate. My great weakness. Did you know the cool whip is also really good with sliced bananas??? LOL (ask Denise, she'll tell you how often I eat that :)).....Hey, I didn't realize the hershey's syrup is fat free. How many points??? I'll have to check it out....

I haven't done Tae bo but I know Denise has & she says it kicks your butt......Have fun :)

I think that should be my middle name! What's up with chocolate?!!! I should start a chocolate lover's thread!

But yeah, the syrup is fat free, and I think it also comes in reduced calorie. I'm sure it would be one or two points per serving. I'll check my bottle tonite and see. The stuff that's really bad is the chocolate fudge syrup, the really thick kinds. This syrup is thin, but awesome on some FF frozen yogurt or in milk or mixed with cool whip free, or if you're like me, take an Aunt Jemima Low fat waffle (the BEST tasting!) and put a tablespoon of Cool Whip free on top, and drizzle a bit of sugar free, low calorie syrup or a bit of the chocolate syrup..mmmm....

Or if you want to really be daring, use two low fat waffles and put half a cup of FF frozen yogurt in between them with a tad of the chocolate syrup... and take a big bite!!!

Okay, the carrot sticks aren't working today. I only have 3 left!!!

Carrot stick tip: put a tad bit of water inside the sandwich bags to keep the carrots moist and bright...

Anyway, I'm getting even more hungry now...for dessert!!!

Hey Girlie I hear that the chocolate graham crackers with FF coolwhip sandwiched inside them are good too. You freeze them and they are suppose to taste like ice cream sandwiches. I think they are somewhere around 2 points for those doing weight watchers.

I think I might give these a try this weekend. I will let you know if it is any good.

Deb so sorry your vcr broke and you couldn't do your tape. Just your luck huh? Is the cardioglide a pretty good workout. I think I know what they look like I just have never tried working out on one.

I use to have this non motorized treadmill which meant I had to do ALL the work of keeping my feet moving. I sold that sucker in a yardsale cause the belt kept slipping. I do have a motorized treadmill now though but i just get so bored starring at the same wall. I guess I could put it in front of my window and wave at the neighbors as they go by.

Girlie you eat those carrot sticks that poor bunny cookie you ate today is probably starving. LOL Love the way you describe how you ate it one ear at a time

Sorry to ramble. See ya.

Girlie-- I'll have to jot down those dessert ideas. They sound good :) I hope you enjoyed your cookie. Hey once in a while is not going to break you as long as you fit it in.

Emmy-- the cardioglide is a pretty good workout. My machine has 9 resistance levels so you have a lot of room to grow into. I started with the 1st level because it's been a long while since I do it. I used to be able to do an hour but I didn't stick with it too long. 30min I can fit into my schedule and do on a consistent basis. Can't wait to get my VCR this weekend. I love that tape!!

Have a good one!

Hello ladies...

I feel like I've been away for so long! I did not work out today because I had the best night's sleep I've had in ages and just thought I deserved to sleep in for once! I will be back to the gym tommorrow morning!!!

Girlie: you crack me up! I too was faced with a smiling bunny cookie!! I don't know if you guys have Eat-n-Parks where you are, but I eat there a lot and they make smiley cookies. For Easter they make Smiley Bunnies! I did not buy one but was given one for unwittingly filling out a survey in the resturaunt! I resisted and saved it for my huney, but I did have a ff Krusteaz brownie when I got home! Yummy!

I think a chocolate lovers thread would be popular, but it would just make me want it even more (if that's possible!) The waffle treat sounds divine!

Hope everyone is doing well...I agee with EMMY...I feel like if you guys are all exercising, I better move my butt! So, thanks to everyone for all of the inspiration to keep moving!

The carrots are long gone! I ordered sushi for dinner...I was so hungry....and It's so good! Ha....
This thread is almost turning into a food thread!

Debbie: I'm sorry to hear about your VCR! Good thing you have your Plan B! And where is your friend Denise? Tell her she's missed!

Emmy: Thanks for the graham cracker desert! Do you have a LF graham cracker to suggest? The FF cool whip is SO versatile. I still love sugar free jello with a tad of the FF cool whip. Isn't that a "free" dessert? It's only 10 calories. It's really good, quick and sweet!

Womaninlove: I'm glad you got your rest! You deserved it! Eat N Parks is a funny name for a restaurant! I'm GLAD we don't have one because that bunny head I ate today was SO good! I can't wait until I get a chance to go to Super Wal Mart again to look for that Krusteaz...I will make FF brownies this weekend and have them with...Yep, you guessed it FF Cool Whip!! HA! Oh, I forgot to ask you...why did you guys choose the Carolinas for your wedding? Just wondering!I have no idea where I'd have mine! But, we did decide on Alaska for a honeymoon! Cold air and snow...all more good excuses to stay inside and cuddle (sorry too mushy!)

I'll be thinking about you guys tonite when I'm on the elliptical! No, really I will!

Rose, where are ya woman? Get outta work! Where are the rest of you? Hope to hear from you soon!!!!

I sure wanted to pop in here again..long before now!!! Sounds like everyone is doing well and really motivated. I have done good today....not so hot yesterday or Sunday. I do fine with the exercise. I did my Leslie Sansone on Sunday....walked yesterday for 25 min. at the ballpark while Dylan was at practice. Today I did my tape again...and walked tonight for 25 min. while Brittany was in one of her dance classes. I will probably do my tape tomorrow too.

I like Tae Bo but if you don't do it 4-5 times a week (at least for me) I felt like I was doing it for the first time each time. It is a great workout....but it is a kick butt exercise.

Well I need to check on Matthew...he just woke up SCREAMING.

Hey my name is Jeannine, girlie told me about this thread on another one, and I'd really like to join your group! Its great to read about people who have done so much exercise, it just makes you want to do it to, even if you are not in the mood to. I usually run 3-4 miles on the treadmill 5 days a week. Last week for 3 days I did 2 miles, went to work, and then after work, did another 2 miles. I really want to keep this up. Today I only ran 3 miles though. Does anyone else jog/run? Its a little hard while doing it, but after I feel so refreshed and rejuvinated. Well I better go, time to go to sleep. Have a good nite!

I have started off really good today. I ate breakfast, exercised, and then went to the grocery. I couldn't find any lowfat chocolate graham crackers but I did find some lowfat cinnamon crackers. I think i might try the FF cool whip with those sometime today.

It is a bright sunshiney day here in ohio so I think I might get out later and enjoy it.

Have a great day. Welcome to our thread Jeannine!

Wow this thread is rollin! I've been so busy with work I've had no time to post but I have a few minutes so I had to pop in to let you all know I'm still here and still exercising:)!

Jeannine-Welcome to our little family:)! I'm glad Girlie told you about us. It sounds like you have a great exercise routine going. I'm very impressed. I'm not a runner. I wish I was but I've never been able to get to that point. I use an elliptical machine which is a great workout plus I have Tae Bo tapes and various other exercise tapes. I do Oxycise (a breathing exercise) along with them all which just helps to enhance my other exercises. I hope you like it here. As you can see there are tons of motivated exercisers posting here. Great to have you here!

Girlie-I'm here. I've just been so busy at work that I haven't had much time to post. It sounds like you've been doing great by the way. My Orbitrek is kicking my butt because I put on more resistance but I can feel it working so I won't complain anymore;)! Thanks for keeping this thread so active.

Denise-Tae Bo is such a workout! I do the 8 minute workout which usually ends up being about 16 minutes and those kick my butt. You must be getting into great shape with these:)! Keep up the great exercise.

womaninlove-Okay you and Girlie have to stop talking about chocolate;)! I'm just getting way too hungry right now and it's not even 9 in the morning! It sounds like you are doing great with the exercise and the temptations. Good job.

Debbie-Is the cardioglide one of those machines you sit on and pull yourself up by the handlebars? My friend had one and I think that's what her's was called and that thing is a killer. I have lower back problems so I couldn't use it much but what a workout! I wouldn't know what do without my VCR. I'm glad you'll be getting yours this weekend. I think I would have used a broken VCR as an excuse not to exercise. But you just found another way to do it. Very motivating:)!

Okay I know I've missed a bunch of you and I apologize. I have to get back to work now but hopefully I can post more later. Good job everybody!

Hello Everyone!!

First of all I'd like to Welcome Jeanine. You are going to love it here :)

Rose-- the cardioglide is exactly what you think it is. You sit on it & push down with your feet on the pedals & pull yourself up at the same time with the handlebars. It is a great workout. I am only doing 30min on it & will just work with moving up the resistance on it as time passes. I have a bad knee so I can't stay on it very long because it' starts bothering my knee. I have gone as long as 60min & paid for it so I am being a little more realistic now :) I am so upset about my VCR. Leslie Sansone needs to put her tapes on DVD too so that I have a backup...LOL. Hopefully in the future.

Emmy-- Sounds like you are doing great today. Enjoy the sunshine :)

I haven't done any exercise yet today. Tonight definitely. I had to catch up on some sleep. I feel so much better now.

Girlie, Womaninlove, Denise and everyone else....hope you are all having a great day!!

TTYL,
Debbie

Hello all!!!I guess you all thought I flew the coop.....well, I had some cesspool problems over the last couple of days and didn't even think about posting. But everything is fine now, and I still managed to get on my Orbitrek at 7-10 miles a pop without missing a day!!!!
AND.....I lost 2 pounds last week. Looks like the exercise is starting to kick in.

Girlie...that Entemann's fat free cake sounds real good. I've never heard of Entemann's...maybe I'll go to the store and look for it. (Yeah right)

Jaedee, welcome. It's nice to have a jogger around. I used to jog in my younger days, 6 miles a day, 5 days a week. I found that my Orbitrek simulates running as close as you can get, but with no impact on my bones. Keep up the good work!

Ras....when I first started on the Orbitrek about 6 weeks ago, I'd put up the resistance a few clicks a day.
The machine hit top resistance a couple of days ago, and I don't even feel it anymore. Is this great or what!!

Hello and best wishes to all...talk to you again.

Philly, good to see you around here :) Congrats on the 2 lbs lost, that is great!!!!

I would think you should be able to find the Entenman's products at the grocery store. I used to live in NY and I used to buy them all the time. Enjoy!!

Take care,

Hey, Ladies!

Jeannine: I'm glad that you decided to come over! I usally post here every day during the week and I tend to forget where I posted everywhere else. Maybe your friend Urbangirl is interested to post here too. I tell, ya, this is the busiest I've ever seen this thread, and it's great! We're almost on thread #26! We usually start a new one when we get to the second page. Maybe some day I'll get up to running...maybe after I get down 20-30 pounds. It was much easier for me to run when I was "lighter". For now, as Philly mentioned, the ellipticals and gliders are great running simulators, just easier on the bones!

Speaking of you, PHILLY, you sound like you must be totally buff and in great shape! I commend you for your great workouts! I hope I'm that buff when I'm your age...really! I feel bad that I can hardly do what I do at age 22! You really must check out Entenmann's fat free coffee cakes! I'll SEND you a box!! Ha! It's THAT good. I'm surprised you aren't familiar with them. Their baked goods are usually located around the Little Debbie and Hostess cakes. Womaninlove told me they also have a fat free brownie....

Emmy- how were those graham crackers? See, I just can't trust myself with a box of graham crackers! I don't usually keep snacks in the house except for pretzels and these very low fat corn chips that I found called "Skinny Chips". I just can't trust myself with sweet snacks like that!! I wish I could get everything in single size servings! It's bad enough though when I have a box of 12 low fat Hostess cupcakes or low fat Twinkies...

Debbie-That cardioglide..I've tried it..it is tough. I have back problems too. I sucked at the cardioglide. I guess I just like the fluid movement of the elliptical. I'm not ready to move up the resistance too much. For now, I'm working on time. If I can get up to 60 minutes a day for at least 5 days a week, I'll be happy, until I decide to start on lifting weights. I HATE weights!

Speaking of weights, does anyone know of any good resistance training that DOESN'T involve weights? I want to work on my inner thighs. They don't rub as bad as they used to though. I hate it when I see women and they have this huge gap between their thighs. I'll never have that. It doesn't even look healthy though.

Denise - good to hear from you! I'm glad you're getting the exercise in. Usually, when I am great with controlling my food, the exercise lacks and vice-versa. I've been decent with both lately, but I tend to feel guilty every time I eat a meal and feel full, even if it's just all veggies.

Rose - good to hear from you! Sorry about all the chocolate talk! I really got off on a tangent last night! I brought extra carrots with me. I had vegetarian sloppy joes for lunch have fruits, veggies and pretzels for tonite. When I get home, I might have a sugar free jello cup before bed (with the cool whip, of course!).

Hello, Womaninlove...wherever you may be!

Talk to you all soon!

Girlie

Wow, whats up with all the talk about chocolate and cool whip?;) Sounds yummy though! I really enjoy putting the fat-free coolwhip between graham cracker squares too - but I add just a drop or two of Hersheys chocolate syrup in the middle...YUM!

Girlie - What did you think of the Tae-Bo tapes? I really enjoy mine... when I do them! ha! Now that the weathers getting warmer here in AZ I may stop the outdoor walking and dust off my Billy Blank tapes - probably in another month or so. Last summer I had to do mall walking on the hotter days, er MONTHS - LOL!

Rose - As I was catching up on the posts, I wondered where you were! Glad to see you posted - sure have missed you & your friendly words of encouragement.

Tomorrow is my weigh-in:) Even though I have been sucking down to many sodas this week, I have managed to drink quite a bit of water as well. Hoping that will help on the scales. I'm working hard to get back into my maintenance range and then to goal again. Wish me luck, ladies!

Have a good one and I'll check in SOON!!:o

Sounds like you're doing very well! We all like the fat free cool whip!! We should add "Cool Whip Free" to the name of the thread!!!

I didn't get the Tae Bo tapes yet. I'm going to rent them this weekend, when I have time to try it. If I don't like it, I still want to do my regular workouts too. I get the rental for a week too, so that should be a good time frame to see if I really like it.

Do you have any favorite low fat graham crackers? I've been looking for some, but I tend to go overboard on them so I want to get the least amount of calories as I can!

Hello Everybody!! This thread is growing bigger by the minute. That is great!

Deb I did enjoy the sunshine today but it seems that with drinking all this water I get cold so easily and then I have to hurry to go pee!! The sunshine felt good though.

Girlie I haven't tried the graham cracker/FF coolwhip yet today. I have 3.5 points left and figure I will save the 3 points for later this evening and give it a try. I will let you know if it tastes good tomorrow though.

I wish I could afford to buy everything in single servings because having ALOT of something does make it harder but I cut up some veggies today just incase I get hungry and run out of points.

Everyone keep up the great effort we will succeed! Take care.

Philly! Oh, I'm so silly!! I did think it was strange that someone has never heard of the yummy Entenmanns baked goods!! Mmmm! My BF ate it all up!

Emmy: Good for you drinking water! I always have to pee too, and it gets annoying...but if I have to go at least once every other hour while I'm at work, I know I'm going well!

My carrots for the day are GONE, and I had a big bag of them! I don't know if I mentioned it but I had vegetarian sloppy joes for lunch and it was SO good, but I know my BF ate the rest of it by now...my dinner will be a can of carrots and mandarin oranges, and slim fast bar for dessert!

Some of you may have seen this already, but there's a guy around the board who posts the site he and his girlfriend made a year ago to start their weight loss journey..it's now a year later and their results are AWESOME!
Check it out! It's even got their weight charts (her weight loss of over 100lbs is amazing! She lost EVERY SINGLE WEEK! Never gained or stayed the same!)

If you're on WW like they are, they have great 1-2pt snacks and other tips:

It's really inspiring! Let me know what you think!

Hello !!

First of all, welcome newbies!!! I love that our little family continues to grow!!!!! I'm having a hard time leaving a personal message for everyone...Just know I'm pulling for all of us!! :-)

Girlie: Hi! I checked out the site you posted and you're right, it is very inspiring! Great to see people reaching the goals!! (check your email :-)

I went to the gym this morning and increased my program to the next level! It felt great, but cardio is getting to be more of a chore...I really need to find my headphones and get some peppy music pumpin' in my head to keep my feet movin'! Anyone have any music that really gets them motivated???? I'd love some ideas to burn for a 'workout cd' !!!

Good luck to everyone!! It sounds like we are all on track!!!! Hooray for us!!!!!!!!!!!!!
