Default a new book club for cheapskates like me :)

www.zooba.com

Every book is $9.95 and includes free shipping.
..You look through their site and make a list of books you would like to have.
..You pay a $9.95 fee every month, as a membership fee.
..Every month, they send you the book that you have at the top of your list.

There are no other fees involved, and you can cancel at any time. The important thing to remember, though, is that you will be billed the $9,95 fee even if you don't have any books on your wish list, so it's important to keep your list full. You are also welcome to order books at any time, at the same price, without waiting a month for your next shipment.

Zooba is operated by the same people that do all of the other big book clubs, like Book of the Month, Literary Guild, etc. So I think they are reputable.

The savings can be very steep! I buy a lot of reference and health books, and I was surprised to see all of the familiar titles they offer.

I thought some of you might be interested

This might just be the thing I will give myself for Xmas this year! Thanks. I just spent an hour browsing! Some great titles and variety too.

Cool, thanks Suzanne for the info. I am a voracious reader and we have a crummy library system. I belong to Netflix for videos which is similar though it is rentals instead of purchase, but I love not having to go to Blockbuster and pay $4 apiece for a new release for like 24 hours! I can keep them as long as I like and I just pay that monthly fee.

Again, thanks!

I will check this out as I am a total book freak, I have started selling alot of mine on half.com as we may soon have to add ANOTHER room to this house if I don't.
I have ordered alot of my books from there also and usually spend about 4 dollars for the whole thing (book and shipping) there are alot of books listed for .99 also, the payment goes to half.com and they credit it to the seller.
I recently ordered my WOE book from them for 1.00 + 2.79 shipping.

I live outside a VERY small town and the library is also very small, however they inter-library loan with @300 other libraries across Ohio. All libraries do this, just ask them to order any books that they don't have and they will. We also get movies and dvd's and cd's this way, they have about 20 cd's at this one but we borrow about 20 a month from the inter-library loan.

I love it! They don't have a LOT of books, but what they have is good, and you can look around before joining to make sure there is plenty for you. I just ordered the South Beach Diet Cookbook from them, what a bargain!
