:D :D :D
We are so happy it's March. We've made it through another month or healthy eating! Okay, some of us, including me, have had bad food moments-----that's the way life is.
Tammy, welcome home! We missed you. It's good to hear that Kramer is holding his own.
Sis, are you still swamped at work?
BJ, when does your new job begin? I am sure I couldn't work all through the night. :o
Lynnie, how are you doing? I don't think we heard from you last week.
Susan, are you still tired all the time? Do you take healthy, pick-me-up snacks to work? Or---it's not considered "healthy"---how aobut a roll of Lifesavers! When I'm on a trip, I always keep some for when I get a low spot.
Maureen, how is the world treating you? Are you walking to work? I can't remember how far you have to go. Please let us hear from you some more.
It's time for me to get on the treadmill. I've been doing the WW dvd exercises mainly. It's time to add variety.

Wish y'all could enjoy a piece with me.

Hi Everyone!!
Welcome home Tammy. We thought about you daily.....I was sorry to hear that your son wasn't feeling well. Hope that you still had lots of fun. I'm so happy that Kramer is doing better!
Hey Tina - Bananna Bread....YUM!! My new job training begins the week of March 15-19 from 12 noon until 8 pm and since I have been assigned to the Mercedez Benz account, I'll be given further training the following week for several more days. I'm excited, but nervous. I've never worked nights, so we'll see....two nights a week shouldn't be too bad. Ironically my current company called today to see if I could handle more hours! Talk about timing....I said yes, and figured that I'd play it by ear!
Hi Susan..how's life treating you?
I'd love to hear from the other members too...I don't know Maureen, Sis or Lynnie as well, and I'd love to hear more about your guys!
So far I think that I've had a good week weight wise. I'll weigh in on Thursday, but I've been walking 3-4 miles daily and that always helps.
Okay, it's been a long, busy day and I'm heading up to bed to read for a few minutes before I go to sleep. Night everyone - BJ

Hi Everyone,
It seems like days since I've written. I haven't gotten email notifications lately. I hate it when they don't come.
Tina, got any of that banana bread left? I love it. I do take snacks to school with me. I have cheese and crackers around 10, lunch at 11:45 and then something around 3:00. It really depends on when I get hungry. I'll have to get lifesavers. I love them!!!
BJ, I'm doing good. You've been great. Walking is really good.
Tammy, how was Disney? We missed you!!
I've been walking in the mornings. I signed up for 3 more months of Curves. I plan to go back next week. I'm going to do it real slow and then I know which ones I'm not suppose to do.
Well it's 9:15 and I'm about to fall asleep. I need to try to stay awake until 10!! Any ideas????

Hi Gang! Just checking in. Haven't had time to get on here. Trying to catch up on all of the school work. My sub graded quite a few things, but there were things that I had to do myself. I've also had something going on every night, so that limits free time. I think tonight is a free night unless I go to my nephew's band concert. It's always something, isn't it?
Food and walking are good. Water is OK. BP and sugar are good.
Hope I can get on here more over the weekend.

This is so weird!
I didn't get notified of any posts. So, Susan, I'm with you on not knowing that people posted.
I was out yesterday looking for rugs for Larry's new office. The whole floor is covered in dull gray carpeting. I wanted some color in his office. I finally found something at Super Target. Now, I just hope it fits the area I got it for. We had Pizza Hut chicken pizza last night. I was very good and just had 2 BIG pieces. Even with our son eating with us, there was still some left. We just threw it away.
Tammy, I'm glad your school substitute seemed to do a good job.
Susan, your snacks sound so healthy. :) I know that exercise will be good for you.
BJ, you sound so busy. That's Great!!!!!
Everyone have a great day!

Hi Everyone,
I am getting notifications (most of the time), but I'm not able to journal. I'm able to get to the area and type my journal, but it doesn't appear on the journal page.
Any ideas about what I'm doing wrong??
Today is my weigh in day.....I can't attend my normal meeting as I have a much needed hair appointment at 10:30. I had made this prior to getting back on program. I'm planning to go to the 5:30 meeting tonight. I will have the same counselor, just a different group of folks. I know that I need the accountability.
Hope that everyone has a great OP day. Bye, BJ

Hi,
We had a major storm this afternoon. All of the students were freakin out!!! They came on the intercom and said they would not release students at 3:30 unless it let up. That freaked them out more. Luckily there was a break and they got to leave on time. THANK GOODNESS!!! :) On top of that, next week is spring break. they are just a little wound up!
Tammy, Welcome Back!! We missed you! Sounds like you need a vacation from your vacation.
Tina, I wish we had a SuperTarget close. I love that store. Did ya'll get the storm?
BJ, how was weigh in? I love to get my hair done. I go every 4 weeks religiously. My hair dresser and I laugh about how my life revolves around getting it done.
Have a great evening!!!

Hey Susan,
I was down 1.8 pounds. I'm now at 201.4.....I'm hoping to be in the 199's by next week. Thanks for asking. I hadn't had my hair done in almost 8 weeks! Lord, I was looking like a skunk with regrowth. I had dyed my hair a medium warm brown, but it was really turning brassy. We took it to a medium brown with blonde highlights. It's a nice change.
Hope that you and everyone else are doing well. You guys are a great support system, and I appreciate it! Bye, BJ

We didn't get a major storm. I told it to visit you, Susan.
We got a little rain but most of it went north of town, around the airport.
BJ, I need a haircut!!! She couldn't take me until next Tuesday morning. Ugh. I'm taking my mother tomorrow afternoon. It was more important to get hers cut and colored.
I'm seriously thinking about getting some highlights put on. I've never ever had any color put on my head. I'm getting more gray hairs now and don't like it.
(The gray started coming in with all the stress I had at work.)
I hope all have a good eveing and a great Friday. Wow, it's amazing how time is flying.

Howdy,
BJ, excellent job on your weight loss!!!! I hope after the baby, I drop some weight. I would like to get back to a size 14.
Tina, Thanks for the rain :) I've been coloring my hair since my mid-late 20's. I started turning gray when I was 17. I was completely gray in my 30's. If I didn't color it, people would certainly think I was the baby's grandmother. :D

I need to get my hair trimmed SOON! I've been coloring my hair for at least 6 years. I started getting gray hairs my first year of teaching. Tim has had gray hairs for a few years, and he turned 16 today! Bob's brother was completely gray about the time he graduated from high school.
I am ready for the weekend. When we got home from supper tonight, Bob drove to a little bar near here to hang out for a while. Tim and Jessica are watching a movie in the family room. I took a 1 1/2 hour nap in the recliner! It's about 10:15, and I'm ready to go to bed! I hope I get sleep this weekend and get caught up. I've been taking vitamins, but I'm exhausted. Old age I guess.
Today it was beautiful here! Sunshine was a wonderful sight to see!
That's all for tonight!

Susan, have fun with your family!! Spring break sounds nice. There have been lots of college students around, stopping into my classroom to say hello. It's always great to see them. Our Spring break is in April. We are off the Thursday and Friday before Easter and the Monday and Tuesday after Easter. 6 days! We are thrilled. Most years we have Fri. and Mon. off. This is a pleasant change!!!
I really do think that I'm doing too much. Bob keeps telling me to slow down. It just doesn't seem to happen. Tuesday night I'm having a Pampered Chef party here. Bob wasn't thrilled. A friend of mine is just starting out in the business, so I told here that I'd help her out. I don't cook things that I would use much of the PC things. I'm supposed to make out a wish list for things since I'm hosting a party. I really don't want anything! Pam will think I'm crazy!!! lol
Need to get started on some cleaning. Tim's friends are coming over tonight. A b-day party, but no gifts. I can't believe he turned 16 yesterday!!!! My baby!!!! lol

Tammy, You are doing way too much. It's not easy to slow down when you get in that groove.
How is Kramer doing? Have you taken him back to the vet this week?
Susan, you are already gone but I hope you are having a blast!!!!!
I'm sure you will be baby'd and taken care of by all your family.
BJ, how is the travel business?
Sis, you need to motivate me to stay away from sweets. If I have the stuff in the house, I can't eat just one piece. Right now, that's my downfall. :(
Maureen, I know you are out there. Please stop for a second and post.

We took Kramer to the vet this morning. It was the same vet who took care of him a couple weeks ago when he was at his worst. She couldn't believe how much he has improved. He received a shot in the behind, and we go back again next Saturday for a shot. She said he is very lucky, because she thinks he's going to come out of this. I told her that I thought we were very lucky too.
Thanks for the b-day wishes for Tim.
Is Larry still going to the gym? My friend Kay just joined the ymca. She gets up in the morning and goes. Loves it.
I miss going to Curves, but I can't justify the price since I didn't go as often as I should have.

Hi Everyone,
Well it was a beautiful day here - I took my Dad to dialysis this morning, and when I finished running errands, I had planned a nice long walk...and then the storm clouds come in along with the cold front. They are calling for snow on Tuesday (and I'm not happy as I'm going to D.C. to have a meeting with my company). I had just signed a contract to begin part time night work with another company, and the very next day, the company that I've worked with for 18 years called to ask me to do more hours!
Talk about a crazy world! I'm going to try to do both for a little while to see which I enjoy the most. The new company offered me full time with great benefits. When my current company made me part time, it took away my paid vacation and 401K match. So, if they can get me back to full time hours with benefits, I'd be interested, but if not, I'm not sure what to do.
I'm confused, and then depressed. I'm losing weight slower than I ever have, and that's got me down. I'm scared what the future has in store for me. About two years ago (when we were on a cruise), my husband told me that he didn't love me anymore. It all came to a head when we bought a new (old) house and I really missed being in the country, and my parents were unhappy with me for moving. It's complicated, but I was a real b...ch. He actually chose our 19th anniversary to tell me. I don't know if he meant to hurt me so badly or not. In passing, I said "I love you". He didn't answer me, so I pressed the matter. Anyhow, somehow I've worked through things and we seem to get along well (for the most part). He has a horrible temper, and even though it's much better than when he was younger, it's still there. I've worked for 21 years (next month) to try to have a good marriage, but I'm afraid that when our son graduates in June, he'll leave. I feel lost. He and our son went to a Contra Dance tonight....his sister who is in the middle of a divorce came out from D.C. to go with them. He's going to LA for a week with another sister from March 20-27. We really don't have the money, but I know that he works hard, so I cashed in some frequent flyer miles for him to go. *Remember, this was the same week that I had turned down going to Paris with my brother and his family because of finances.*
I don't know why I'm telling you all this, but I can't very well talk it over with local friends or neighbors. It's just not something that I'm proud of. Some days I get really angry and think that I should have the self worth to tell him that I want a divorce....I mean I'm losing all dignity here. I really think that he does love me, but he's certainly not demonstrative.
On another note, I'm under alot of added stress as I have a big committment the same week that I begin training for the new job. I am in a local garden club, and we take turns hosting meetings. I'm to entertain two clubs and the state president that same week. I am suppose to have a co-hostess, but she's been useless. At this point, it's totally up to me to get this together. I want it to be nice....I'm taking china coffee cups, china plates, silver folks, etc. It's suppose to be desserts, but I'm having a hard time finding anything locally. It will be a very stressful week (to say the least).
Well, I'm going out and walk Sam the sheepdog, then do some filing and try to get to sleep at a reasonable time. I sing in a church choir in the country and I have to be up by 7:15 a.m.
I'm sorry to be wallowing in self pity. Most of the time I can put it out of my mind, but other days it's not so easy. I'm on Zoloft for depression, and that helps.
I hope that you all have a great week-end. You're lucky to have loving husbands and family. I hope that everyone knows that. There's nothing worse than to feel unloved.
I appreciate your friendship - BJ

BJ, you are going to be one busy lady!!! Don't over do it! (this coming from the gal that can't say no!).
Oh BJ, I typed that and then kept reading your message. You will be in my prayers that things will work out for the best. I think all marriages have ups and downs. We'll be married 23 years in June. At times, I am very surprised that we've made it. We've had some very difficult times, but somehow manage to work through them. There are times when I believe that sitting in a bar drinking beer is more important to Bob than our marriage. Tim has even commented on it, so it's not just me.
Take care of yourself. We are here for you when you need us. Love, Tammy

Thanks Tammy,
I think just typing it all out made it better for me. I just finished grooming Sam the Sheepdog.....he got a bath, blow dry, brushing, and he was very upset that I brushed his teeth. He finds that totally unnecessary!
I am so happy that Kramer is doing better. Animals are such a God send!
We are keeping the sick English Bulldog from next Thursday until the following Tuesday while my brother goes to Paris. Since it's bladder cancer, we're hoping that he keeps urinating. Right now it's down to a dribble, and we don't want to have to make any decisions while they're gone. Hopefully if worse comes to worse, they can put a catheter in.
Thanks for writing back so quickly...I was feeling pretty blue. I don't know why I get like that. I try really hard to stay focused and optimistic. Hope that you have a nice Sunday. Thanks for the support. Night - BJ

Hi All,
BJ, I just got on the computer for the evening. I'm so sorry you are having such a time. I'm glad you feel free to talk to us. We are here for each other.
Keep on your meds and keep grooming Sam. Yes, animals are a blessing. I don't know what we'll do when our cat passes. Whenever we plan a trip that will last more than a couple of days, I hope that he will be okay. They give us unconditional love.
A couple of years ago, I was having a hard time with a new boss. This group kept me going. Everyone here is great! (BTW....I opted to retire from my position.)
I've had a good day OP. I was sorely tempted to go out and get a piece of pie or cake. On days like this, I must stay away from Starbucks. They have such great-looking goodies.
I'll look for everyone tomorrow.
Night,

Dear Tina,
Thanks for your kind words. I love my dog, but am really a "cat" person. We have two right now....one is a 17 year old "barn" cat. When we moved to the city, she had to learn about litter boxes, etc. The other is about 10 years old and is a 20 pound Maine Coon cat. His name is the Dalai Lama. Both kitties were drops. Dalai came to use two weeks exactly after my 20 year old white persian died. I also have another kitty live to be 20. He was my special boy....Felix T. Cat!
Well, I'm making coffee, and then will get ready for church. I'm hoping that I can get some good walking in later. It's good for my body and soul!
Thanks again - Hope that you all have a great OP day. Bye, BJ

Good morning all
BJ whatever you decide to do will be the right thing. I know that Geoff and I will be married 27 yrs this yr and I honestly can't think of anything enjoyable that we've done. I know he loves me but I don't love him. I'm sitting here(I do this almost everyday) and I'm thinking of how nice it would be to be living on my own. I'm going to be 57 this yr and I really don't want to spend the rest of my life feeling like I do.
As for watching what I eat I'm on day 35 of being a recovering smoker so I've been concentrating on that. I think with the money I'm saving not smoking I'll look for my own apartment. If I can quit smoking I can do anything.
I'll be going out for a nice long walk later too
I hope you all have a good day on program and thanks for being here
good luck BJ

Maureen, it sounds like many of us have some sort of issues in our marriages. Hang in there. Whatever is meant to be will happen. I've been praying so much for so many different things lately. I wonder if He ever gets tired of hearing from me. lol You will be in my prayers as is everyone in the group. I sure wish we all could meet someday, but we sure are spread out over a big area, aren't we?
The other group I'm involved in has met a few times (not everyone made it). The group met in Las Vegas (3 were there, I wasn't), 4 of us met in Indianapolis one summer, and last May 6 of us got together in Chicago. there are 9 in the group, 8 in the US and 1 in Canada.

I hope everyone with marriage problems can achieve some peace in their lives.
It's been a beautiful day here in South Texas. We went to the nursery and bought more hibiscus plants. Mine didn't bloom much last year. So, I will replace one and add two more. I'll get outside in the morning before it gets really hot like today.
I'm sure I used all my Flex Points today. It was worth it. I had a great day.

Hi Maureen,
It was so nice to hear from you. I'm sorry that you also have troubles in your marriage. I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers. Kevin and I get along fairly well, but I know that I'm not the love of his life anymore. It's hard feeling like I'm just a fixture here, and not anything special. Does that make any sense?
I didn't get a chance to sign in yesterday (which is very unusual), so I'm sorry for the late response. I have been doing a home computer upgrade to get ready for my new part time position, and everything was being reconfigured yesteday and most of tonight. It's just getting back to normal. I am working from home as a travel agent, and will begin training next week as a home based concierge - also part time. It's been tough, but since my son is getting ready to graduate from high school, we need the income for his college tuition.
Oh, good news, our son was accepted at the University of North Carolina - Asheville. It's very difficult to get accepted to, so he was excited. We are going to have to take another trip to look at his final choices. We are still waiting to hear from Virginia Tech. They usually don't announce acceptance until the first of April. So far he's been admitted to 5 of the 6 that he applied to. I hope he makes it 6 for 6! I think that his first choices are
UNC-Asheville, Warren Wilson (also Asheville), Guilford (Greensboro, NC)...
then probably VA Tech. He's having second thoughts about selecting schools 7 hours away from home!
Well, wish me luck tomorrow...I will go to D.C. to meet with the V.P. of my company to discuss my future with my travel agency. They have asked me to take back more hours (which is good), but I want my old vacation/401K match benefits back, and they have been bulking. I am going to try to stay calm, professional and rational! After that, I'll probably cry!!!!
Okay, enough about me.....how are you doing Tina???? You are always so upbeat....it's great! Hey Tammy.....what's up????? How's Kramer???
Okay, Susan - How have you been feeling? Please take good care of yourself!
I'm off to slumberland. I didn't sleep worth a hoot last night and I'm totally exhausted. I was bad tonight....I skipped dinner and had a beer! And not a lite beer....a Dos Equis! I wish you all love, and happiness. We all deserve it. Bye for now, BJ
Tammy

BJ, congrats to you son for being accepted! That has to make him feel great. Making that final decision will be a tough one though. Good luck in DC. Hope it goes the way that you want it to go. Crying is good, so let it loose!!!
I'm having a Pampered Chef party tonight. Hope it goes well. There are at least 6 people coming. 5 people I invited haven't responded. If they show up, I hope there's enough food for them. I wish people were more considerate about RSVPs.
Kramer seems to be much better. He was actually up on his back legs trying to reach my breakfast this morning. That's the first that he's done that in over 2 weeks.
We are testing at school this week. The principal goes crazy during testing. He is so paranoid about it all. The 4th grade takes a prof. test for the state. He is providing breakfast for them and also keeps wishing them luck on the announcements. My kids asked why he isn't doing anything for them. I told them that I have no idea. Every grade level is doing some form of test, but the 4th grade is the only one getting any notice from him. He's such a twit. Wish he'd quit.
Need to go get ready for school.

Good evening,
I know a way to take away your appetite.....spend almost $900.00 to fix a car a/c! Yep, we had to pay $884.00 today. The compressor was leaking and had to be replaced, plus a few other things were going out.
We've never had any trouble with the a/c and the car is about 6 yrs. old. So, I guess it was time. :( That doesn't mean I have to be happy, though.
My husband wanted to taKe me out to eat after we picked it up. We went to Black Eye'd Pea and I had the veggie plate. It was very fillling and I felt good about the few pts. Then, I came home and ate 2 low fat brownies. Hey, I'm no saint.
BJ, would you explain exactly what you'll be doing all night on that new job! I don't quite understand about it. Good luck in DC talking about your travel job.
We usually go through an agency plannning our Grand Cayman trips.
I think that the next time, we might just do it all ourselves.
Tammy, I hope your Party was well-attended.
Sis, what is new with you???????
Tina

03-09-2004, 11:17 PM
The Pampered Chef party was fun. There were 7 people here. It was Pam's first party to do. She was very relaxed. I would have been nervous. One of the other teachers is booking a party, so I get extra points. Another friend may book a party, she's supposed to let me know. The things that I wanted, I should be able to get free and/or 1/2 price, so I was excited. When I go to those other parties, I'll order some small things, and I'll get a discount since I hosted a party. Cool!!
Bob is going to go through the catalog again, and see what else looks good. He saw something in it that he thinks we need. It's a vegie tray with a place for dip in the middle. Not sure how often we'd use it. I thought the knives were neat. The case they come in has a sharpener built into it.
I'm tired, so I think I'll head for bed.

Hi Everyone,
Just a quick note to see how everyone is doing.
Tammy, I'm happy that your Pampered Chef party went well. I love their things!
Tina, I also had to put money in my car this week, but not as bad as you! My driver's side door was making a horrible noise, and it had to be welded. At first, they told me only a body shop could fix it, and I was quoted $500! I'm sure that the weld was a "quick fix", but it was $201, so it was a big difference.
Oh, you asked about my new part time job.....I'll know more next week when I begin training. I'll be a home based concierge for the west coast from 12 Midnight to 8 am. I'll receive calls, emails and instant messages from folks that have purchased high end Mercedes Benz cars.....$200K to $400K. This is a perk that they offer to their customers. So, if they need hotel reservations, dinner reservations, airline tickets, show ticktes, etc., I'll do it. It sounds pretty cool. So, I'll continue to work 3 days a week for my travel agency, and then 2 nights a week for VIP Concierge Desk. The crazy thing is that the day after I accepted the VIP desk, my travel agency called me up and asked me to do more hours. They have an agent who has some time scheduled off for vacation and surgery, and I need to help cover her slot. I'm planning to do it, but I'm not happy that my agency isn't giving me back my full time status---paid vacation and 401K match. I met with a Regional Manager yesterday, but they're not ready to offer me anything more. The bottom line is that I need the hours, so I'll do it, but if I were offered another full time position with better benefits, I'd have to consider it. I'm going to be whipped for the next 2 months, but I'm going to give it all my best shot to see where it leads. Okay, enough of this!
Hey Susan...what's new with you?
Hi Maureen.....how have things been going for you?
I'm ready to go to bed! My brother and his family are off to Paris tomorrow, and I've got to drive them to D.C. to the airport, so it will be a busy day.

Hi Friends,
Well, I'm back from San Antonio. I would love to say I had a wonderful time but lots went on in my family. I did have a great time being with them all. I got down there Saturday, my aunt was having a heart cath. done. They had to rush her to surgery and had to have triple bypass. My 2 sisters and I went out to the hospital at 8:30 and got home at 4 am. They had to go back in because the bleeding wouldn't stop. Then Sun. they had to go back in again. She was in very critical condition. My mom has been really sick again so we went out to be with my other aunt and uncle, and 2 cousins. I was at the hospital every day.
Then on Monday, on the way home from the hospital my older sister called and said my uncle had died of a massibe heart attack. This is my Dad's brother. Now here is the kicker, his sister died 6 weeks ago. My uncle is being buried on tomorrow on his birthday. My aunt died 2 weeks before her birthday. I planned on staying for everything. My Dad said I needed to go home and take care of my baby. He said that was more important.
I go to the dr. tomorrow. I'm starting to get a little pooch! I'll be 12 weeks on Friday.
BJ, I'm sorry you are having a tough time!!!
Tina, How are you, Darlin? Ouch, car problems!!!
Sis, Excellent job on not smoking!!
Tammy, we want to come to the party. Happy belated birthday to Tim!!!

Susan, my prayers are with you and your family. What an awful experience for all of you. I agree with your dad. Take care of the babe. Hope the doctor's visit goes well. Are you hearing the heartbeat? That's always an exciting time.
Thanks for the b-day wishes for Tim.
I took a 1 1/2 hour nap today after school. We've been doing testing all week. I think that wears me out more than a normal day. I couldn't stop yawning! We have to read so much of the test to the kids. Tomorrow, we have to read both sections to them. Hope I can stay awake!! lol

Thanks Tammy,
I think I'll get to hear the heartbeat. I can't wait. I hate to weigh tomorrow. I had way to much Mexican food when I was there!! :) But it sure was good.
I agree with testing. It is much more tiring than a normal day!!! Get some rest!!! I'll be thinking about you.

Dear Susan,
Wow, you and your family have been through so much. I'm so sorry to hear about your losses. I'll keep you aunt in my prayers, as well as your mother. You don't need for me to tell you that you dad gave you good advise.....you and the baby are the most important things right now. Have a nice, restful evening. Bye, BJ

Thank you BJ. Even though Daddy gave me good advice, I felt like I should be there for him. He knows me well enough that if he didn't say go home that I would have stayed. Thank you for the prayers.

Susan, I too am keeping you and your family in my prayers.
You certainly got more than you expected at home this time.
Do take care of yourself and don't beat yourself up for going home. You really need rest and as little stress as possible right now.
Let us all know what happens at the dr. visit.
I hope everyone else has a great Thursday, too.

Not much is new with me except that I started a new rate (diff. kind of job) at work. It will pay more and I won't have to work my butt off and go home sore and tired all the time. :) That will mean I will have to make sure I get in some exercise at home though, or I know it will catch up with me. ;) We got snow again. :( I know it won't stay, as it it supposed to warm back up but it is so depressing to have nice weather and all the snow gone then have it come back.
Sorry to hear about your car Tina. I know where you're coming from.
Well I guess that's all for this post. Have a great week end everyone...Sis :D

HI Everyone,
It's been a cloudy day with the threat of rain all day. Still hasn't done anything except drizzle a little.
I took 2 of the dogs to the vet and then we are taking 2 of the cats tomorrow. That was the most exciting thing I did all day.
Went to the doctor yesterday. He said everything was fine and right on track. He tried to listen to the heartbeat and couldn't hear it. He told me not to stress because it is still a little early. (I was thinking it was because of my extra padding :) He sent me for a sonogram. So I got to see the baby and hear the heart beat. It was beating 175 beats per minutes. Wow, that's fast!!! The baby jumped twice. It was so funny watching it do that. I go back in 5 weeks and will have my first glucose test. I went ahead and scheduled my amino too for the same day. I have to go to different doctor for it. So April 15 is the big day.
I went to Babies R Us to look around. I left with my head swimming. I've never seen so much baby stuff. Pat is going to go back with me.
My uncle's funeral was yesterday, as well as his birthday. I called to check on my Dad. He said he was ok, but I could hear it in his voice. It broke my heart.
Sis, congrats on the increase in pay. Money is always great.
Hope everyone is doing great.

Oh, Susan,
That had to be so exciting, seeing the baby. I am soooooo happy for you, and Pat.
Yes, there are lots of things now at Babys R Us. I know you will have more fun planning everything.
It sounds like you had a good day, taking it pretty easy.

Sis, not being sore and tired all of the time sounds great!! You'll make time to get your workouts in at home I'm sure.
Susan, yuck to the glucose test! Make sure that you don't go alone to that. People react so differently. I've never been to Babies R Us. I'm sure I'd love it! I'll look there for future grandchildren, but not too near in the future!!!! lol
Tim went with Jessica and family prom dress shopping today. Her dress is beautiful! It's a light pink with spaghetti straps. After she left, Tim just raved about how beautiful she is in it. Now we get to go Tux looking. Oh boy! The prom is May 1.
Tim passed the driver's test this morning. He is on his first solo drive right now. He went to Jessica's house. She lives about 2 miles from here. (maybe 3?)
Kramer had another shot this morning. We go next week for another one, and then I think we're done for a while, but I'm not sure. He is doing so much better.

Boy, it's quiet around here!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
We just returned from San Antonio. Larry and I decided to take off yesterday morning. We went to an outlet mall for some shopping and then to SA. It rained most of the day but that didn't stop our fun.
I did good with my eating, except today we ate at a German restaurant and had dessert of apple struedel with ice cream. I didn't eat all the struedel because theirs had coconut in it. YUCK!!!
I've got to get some rest. :)

It has been quiet around here!
Tina, your trip sounds like fun! I don't like coconut either. I'm glad ya'll had fun!!! We have to hook up sometime when I'm down that way.
Tammy, I sure am glad Kramer is better. Poor puppy. I'm not looking forward to the glucose test!!! YUCK!! I just hope I pass it. How is your blood sugar doing? Are you feeling better these days? You'll have to send a picture of Tim and Jessica when they go to prom. they sound so adorable!!!!
I have to go back to work tomorrow. I'm not looking forward to it. I would like another week off but guess I don't get it. I think I'm going to start taking a few days here and there since I have 3 weeks and I won't get anything for it when I quit at the end of the year.
We are very exciting tonight. Pat's on one laptop and I'm on mine. We just got finished having cinnamon toast for a snack. It was my snack time.... so I had that and some grapes. It sure was good!! :)
Talk to ya'll tomorrow!! Sleep good.

Hi All,
Tammy, I'm glad that Kramer is better, too.
Sis, is all that snow gone yet? I hope so. Our trees are all putting out buds. They know that Spring is just around the corner. :)
Susan, I didn't know you were quitting at the end of the year. That's great!!!
Will you be on maternity leave until the end of the year - after having the baby?
BJ, are you deluged with work now?
I wish we could all get together and go shopping with Susan. Don't you all think she needs our help! :)
I've been so good today. I've just eaten 15 pts. I have some 0 pt. veggie soup cooking and that's for me supper.
I'm also cooking a meatloaf but I'm not going to eat any.

Hi ya'll,
It's been a strange day. Friday night there was a killing here in McKinney. 4 people were involved and 2 were high school football players. The boys went to the middle school I taught at but go to the other high school. This is the first killing in I don't know how long. It's just something that doesn't happen here in this town. My juniors were distraught since they knew these boys. It's horrible. Still don't know what happen or why. The 2 boys were visiting at another football players house, and then an aunt and nephew. It is so strange and sad.
Tina, I am going to quit. It's something that I've always said I would do if we had children. Pat and I talked about it and feel that it is best at least for the next 5 or 6 years. I have waited a long time for this baby so I don't mind giving up my career for a few years. It's going to be odd because I've worked since I was a kid. My students are asking me if I'm coming back, I keep saying "I plan on it." I will tell the school toward the end of April or the beginning of May. Our superintendent is coming down your way. He is going to Cypress Fairbanks.
Hope everyone is having a great day!!

Tina, I think Bob and I need to take off and go somewhere sometime soon. We haven't done that in ages!!! Yum to the German food!!!
My blood sugar has been pretty good, 126 and below. I'm trying to watch closer this week because I want to go to the hospital for the blood test on Sat. I was supposed to do that in Feb., but I never found the time to do it!! Hard to believe, right?
Hey, cinnamon toast sounds good. I haven't had that in a while.
Yes, I do think Susan needs our help shopping!!!! I have a van, so we could get lots of things in there.
Oh Susan, how awful about the killing! It is definitely a sad time for all of those that knew them.
I agree with your decision about quitting for a few years. I had the luxury of having my mom close to watch Tim, so that made it easier to go back to school when he was 6 months old. We knew we wouldn't be able to afford it if I quit. My SIL quit for a few years when their 3rd child was born. My mom babysat for the others. She has never regretted it. She teaches in the HS of the same school district I'm in.
That's all for now! Paper grading time! joy!!!

Evening all,
Tammy, you were talking about having a blood test. Do needles bother you? If I don't watch, I'm okay. I've had to take my mother so many times since her stroke and I watch them do it to her.
Update on my car problems-----we took it back in because it was idling rough when the "fixed" a/c was turned on. They said it was okay. Okay----we went after it this afternoon. It wasn't okay---it was the same. The guy tried to say it was because the car was getting old.
He changed his tune when he actually listened to it himself and then was concerned.
We take it back in next Monday!
I would love to trade it in right now for a Chrysler Crossfire. Those are so sporty. I know, Tina, dream on. :)
How is everyone doing tonight? Let me hear from ya,
Tina

Hi,
Tina, sorry to hear more car problems!!! Boo!!!!
School was strange today and yesterday. I'm sure it will be tomorrow as well. The 2 highschool boys have their funerals tomorrow. They still don't know what or why the murders happened. Police think that the boys showed up at the wrong time and place and were caught in the middle. It's so sad!!!
I'm going on a field trip tomorrow with the spanish class. I just found out as I was walking out the door. It should be fun, we are going to see the Picasso exhibit at the Nasher scultpure museum. I'll let you know about it.
Today is our 19th anniversary. To celebrate we had pimento cheese sandwiches!! :)
Now we are watching NYPD Blue. I know you guys are all jealous of our romantic evening :D
Have a safe evening.

Happy St. Patty's Day to All!
Susan, Happy belated Anniversary. Boy, y'all know how to party, don't you.  :) :D May you and Pat have many, many more anniversaries.
I hope this is a good "wearing of the green" day. Even if you don't have any Irish blood in ya, it's fun to wear green. My heritage is Scot-Irish and French.
I think I'll go buy some cabbage and fix it and cornbread for supper. Yummy!
For lunch, I'll have some of our 0 pt. veggie soup.
Have a great day,
Tina

Did y'all do something special for yesterday?
I've been out planting plugs of grass in our backyard. I think our neighbors' sprinkler system has a leak like last year. Some of our yard, near theirs, is boggy. It made it easy to plant the grass :D but I don't want it to get as bad as it did last time. It was a mess before we noticed how bad it was.
Good luck staying OP today.

HEY!! Where's my message from last night? I posted about not being afraid of needles, and other stuff. Hmmmmmm.
Tina, buy a new car. I'll help you shop for it!!!
Susan, I can't imagine how awful school is for everyone after the murders. we've had students die in car accidents, etc., but never a murder.
You really know how to party!!! Sounds like us sometimes.
My special something for yesterday was falling on the ice when I was going into the school in the morning. I stayed home today. Pretty achy all over. My head has finally stopped hurting.
We've had rain, snow, and fog today. Expecting fog again in the morning according to the weather reports. We have an in-service in the morning, so the students are already on a 2-hour delay. If it's bad enough, we'll cancel the in-service. (Come on fog!!!!) lol
That's all for now.

Hi,
Wow!! It's been beautiful here!!! Wish it was like this all the time.
Tammy, hope you are feeling better. You might soak in a nice warm tub with epsom salt. That should help the soreness.
Tina, it has been awful with a quadruple murder. At least they found Matt's truck. The murder(s) stole his truck. The horrible thing is that the high school boys were great kids!!! You couldn't find kinds any nicer!!!
I've had a migraine since yesterday. I think it's been the stress and something I ate. It's been hard not taking anything for it. I went to the chiropractor today and that helped. He even recommended me coming once a month until I have the baby. He said it would help when I go into labor. I thought that was interesting.
Ya'll have a great evening.
Susan

Susan, I've heard that before about chiropractors! I'm considering going once a month for a while myself for a while. Right now I think it would be a good idea after the fall yesterday morning. I took a nice hot shower today. it felt great.
Stress can do so many things to our bodies. Please be careful!

Happy Friday,
Tammy, I'm so sorry that you fell. I didn't know anyone posted and didn't see about you until now. Sorry.
I hope you can rest this weekend. Remember that word----REST.....
Susan, I'm sure stress played a large part in your headache. You just HAVE to take care of yourself, girl.
BJ, have you completely forgotten about us??? :( :( :(
Sis, Is it still snowing?
Maureen, what's up with you???

Tina, rest will happen sometime this weekend! I'm chaperoning the band to contest tomorrow. We leave at 11 and should be back to town about 5:30. Have to take Kramer for another shot at 9:15, so at least I can sleep in some. Sunday I have no plans yet. Hooray!
Today's in-service was a waste of time for the math teachers. The two people in charge wanted us to do things that we've already done this year at our math meetings. They wouldn't listen to us that we had already done what they wanted us to do. One of them was the principal. Big shock? We were NOT happy. We wanted to work on Science and Social Studies since we teach those subjects also, but they kept pushing the math.
I think I'm going to try to get all of my school work done tonight so I don't have to do anything the rest of the weekend.

Hi Ya'll,
I have to tell you about my weekend. I'm in a wedding. Last night was the rehearsal. There was so much confusion. Then we went to Olive Garden, no reservations for 30 people and we had to pay for our own meal. I just laughed. Then the wedding is at 4 today, I am suppose to be at the church at 10:30 for hair and makeup. Pictures at 2 and wedding at 4. The reception is going to be at a hotel with a dance, etc..... Pat had me practice saying "NO" today. It was so funny!!! I can't believe being there all day!! :) I'll just be glad when it's all over with.
Pat tilled my garden yesterday. So tomorrow I'm going to plant it!!! I can't wait to get it going. I love working in the garden and gathering my goodies.
Have a great weekend and I'll post tomorrow.
