Sugar Shakers - What is SB Induction

I am waiting for my book to come but am trying to get some information. i have read about the induction phase but I can't find what it actually is. Can someone please help.

I've been doing SB for over 2 years and I don't belive there is an induction period. Are you confusing this with South Beach Diet?
