GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today-both very good:)

PROBABLY AND POSSIBLE

Pay attention to what is probable. Yet never lose sight of all that is possible.

The difference between what is probable and what is possible for you is based on your attitude, your thoughts, your actions. With enough commitment, you can make the most unlikely possibilities happen.

Settling for what is probable is just an excuse to abandon the best of what is possible. There is never any good reason to settle for less than the best of what can be.

Embrace the possibilities. Make the best of them yours by making the necessary effort to bring them to life.

Though something may be probable, its not a foregone conclusion. Now is the moment to take the best of what is possible, and make it happen.

KEEP GOING

Some days it's difficult to see the progress you're making. Some days it may even seem that you're moving backwards. Keep going. The moment you've been working toward gets ever closer as you move persistently through each day.
Each effort, whether you can see it or not, moves you forward. Even the seeming failures make you stronger and push you in the direction of your goal.

Those who keep going only when the going is good, will never make it all the way. The value of achievement is built upon the difficulties you must cross through in order to reach it.

Keep going not only when the going is good. Persist in your efforts even when they seem to be pointless, even when you cannot feel any progress. For the progress is most certainly there. Keep going, and you will surely see it soon enough.

-- Ralph Marston

When I read Deb's MM, I felt it on a personal level - being at this plateau. But, I'll keep chugging away at it and see what happens.

Not much new here - finally starting to warm up with temps in the 30s and 40s this weekend. I think that I am ready for spring. Watched S&C last night - it was good, but as I'm sure most of us will agree, predictible. Makes me wonder what the other three endings were that they shot . . .

Worked out last night and went food shopping yesterday to stock up on a lot of "legal" foods to keep me going throughout the week.

Well, gonna get ready for work. Kids go back to school today also, so our routine is back in progress. :D

Good Monday morning:

I hope everyone has a fantastic week. My TOM started yesterday, and I self-destructed; ate a lot of stuff I shouldn't have, including a small order of McDonald's FF, that not only are potatoes to begin with fried in that saturated fat, but I just learned that McDonald's also adds sugar to their FF. So, I'm surprised I survived that splurge. I also had other stuff I shouldn't have, but won't go into listing it all...I'd run out of room. I hope everyone else had an OP weekend.

It is pouring here, and has been since around 2:30 a.m., at least that's when I first noticed it. We have a wash nearby our home, and I hope it's not running, or Britt won't be going to school. If she does go, then I plan to go to the gym today.

GUESS WHAT????? I am so pumped. I wrote my paper on Saturday night; I was up until 12:30 a.m. This is the paper that is due tomorrow night for my Nutrition class, and I wrote it on SB. I haven't written a paper in so long that I was feeling quite discouraged. I couldn't even remember the correct way to write a References page. Anyway, I e-mailed it to my instructor, asking for any input and for a sample of a References page, or a site I could go to to find one, and this was her reply....."This is a great paper! I would not suggest any changes and I have all the references I need. Consider yourself done! 100% points!" Can you imagine my surprise...whew...done. I can watch BFOF tonight without worrying about finishing up my paper.

BOB: I didn't go to that site....I'm too superstitious and paranoid, I guess. I've had lots of friends who have gone to fortune readers, Tarot readers (for fun), and I just can't bring myself to do it. I guess I don't want to know, even if it is "for fun." I wish our dog would want to sleep in her own bed; she sleeps at the foot of our bed in between our legs. She is over 40#'s though. Your little one would probably get caught somewhere under the covers and you wouldn't be able to find the poor little thing come morning.

fruit: Glad to hear the updates!! It sounds like you are all having such a fabulous time! I'm having to really stop and think since you are using "real" names vs user names; I think I have it figured out now. I hope the weather is staying good. We are getting enough rain here to make up for any you are not getting. Keep us posted!! I love to read about how much fun you are all having. If my kids were at an age to get up and go without me, I'd be there with you all.

cheryl: Glad your DS decided to skip BB this year to give you a much needed break. Great job on eating and exercising!

Suzy: Way to stock up on those legal foods; it makes all the difference in the world. I know I would have hit my goal much sooner if I had lived alone and only had "legal" foods in the house. I am taking my mom to Whole Foods on Friday since she has never been. I will stock up on a few items while I am there.

I still haven't had breakfast, so I better go eat!

Take care,
Nat

Nat - Congrats on the paper!!! That is soo awesome. I know your proud as you should be. Dont feel bad about your splurge...i was almost with ya. Today is a whole new day. I didnt know they put sugar in their ff's!!! omg!

My MM contribution:

As the twig is bent, the tree inclines.

A positive self-image is critical to our recovery. Why? Because it is the glasses through which we look, the gloves with which we touch, the door by which we enter into a relationship with life. Self-image is not who we really are, but a combination of what we wish we were, who we're afraid we are, and who we imagine other people think we are.

We act out in detail the role we've assigned ourselves in this world. That role, our self-image, works like a key that either fits or doesn't fit a world full of locked doors. Different keys open different doors. And some doors lead to bad places, as we all know. It isn't easy to change keys, but it is infinitely worth it. One reason is that we always pass our self-image on to our children; they know us too well to be fooled. If we want our children to walk tall, laugh happily, and sing joyously - we ourselves must do these things for them to see.

You are reading from the book: Days of Healing - Days of Joy by Earnie Larsen & Carol Larsen Hegarty

This weekend was full of choices, (you know where this is going don't you :o ) my DH and I went on a date to the movies (we saw 50 dates - FUNNY), but I went hungry. My choices were nachos and peanut mm's. Sunday we went to the fair again I got hungry, my choices: corn dog, butter toffee sunflower seeds and cashews, a few salt water taffy, and orange slices. Last night a couple saltine crackers for my sore tummy. Today I feel puffy and uncomfortable and Sunday I actually weighed in at 168.5 today the scale says 172.5! Enough said, I've already saddled my horse can get back on the wagon again today. My DH and I went grocery shopping and my fridge is full of SB foods.

VMOORE: I thought of you first when I was thinking about the choices I had made this weekend and that I had to be accountable. I feel like I owe you an apology. Here I am telling you how to make good choices and I couldn't even follow my own advice. I'm sorry for being a hypocrite.

Beth: It's LDBLOND, thanks for asking, they are my first and middle initials and before having my son I was blond for 28 years. How's your little one doing?

Jack-K: I hope your DH is feeling better soon, glad to hear they have his health situation figured out.

SEF: Sounds like you really enjoy yourself and the time you spend giving happiness to others is wonderful!

Cheryl: I'm happy to hear your DD is doing better. How many children do you have? All 3 of my little ones have allergies and the oldest and youngest have asthma. Looks like the Zyrtec the Dr. put my son on is working, Claritin just didn't help him like it does my girls.

Suzy: And here I am talking about being cold and wet in the So. Cal., boy am I a desert rat. I'd probably freeze to death if I moved east! !lol!

Pancho: You go girl! 100%! :bravo:

BOB: Hope you are feeling better after a weekend of rest and meds.

Have a good Monday, everybody!

Lara- being human doesnt make you a hypocrite. I enjoy being with ppl that are human and make mistakes just like i do. Thats why im here...I get all the support I need and know that everyone will understand when i fall off the wagon because everyone has been there.

I loved that movie. I went to see it Saturday. ( 50 first dates) I even got teary eyed at the end!! Now that is love.

After a 2 day break I just did my WATP. Im still on the 1 mile because my upper body is very weak and the 2 mile uses the weights more. I dont think im ready for that. Maybe a few more days and i will try it.

Today is week 7 of being back on SB. Im kinda in a funky mood of "why arent i skinny yet"...lmaooo funny huh? Im gonna keep on keepin on. This is just one of those days I wish there really was a miracle pill. Its TOM right now, i hope that is why i feel this way. I know im actually doing really good but at the same time i feel FAT.

My 6 year old son, Dylan, is home sick today...grrr really messed up my plans for the day. I have to get my house really really clean this week. My parents are coming to visit. I always freak out about my mom seeing my house. I guess thats normal, isnt it? lol

Gotta go for now

Good Monday Morning,

Hope everyone had a great weekend.

DH cleaned out the fridge and pantry yesterday. It looks so pretty now, but bare.We are going to the grocery tonight for a few things. No big excitement for the weekend. Had a couple visitors and went out to dinner on Sat nite. ATe too much and was miserable all night long.

Suzy, hang in there, you may not be losing on the scale but I bet those inches are moving down. One of the endings for S&TC was Big and Carrie at the bridge and he told her he was there and she told him it was too late. I'm not a BIg fan, but didn't like the Russian at all.

Pancho, that is great about your paper. I thought it would be easy for you since doing this WOE.

VMoore. congrats on fighting that urge to cheat. You should be proud of yourself. Hope your DS feels better. Oh yes, it is perfectly normal to not want your mom to see a dirty house.

LdBlond, don't let the weekend get you down. Start again today and you will be fine. It's when we let those binges go on and on that get us. Thank for the MM, loved it.

Missy, sounds like a partay! So glad you all are having a great time. What is Lynn "showing" to get those beads? You do things in NO that you wouldn't ever do. Have fun.

DH just came home for lunch and ran on so I guess I had better find something for me. Need to do a little work too. Be back later.

Good to see ya'll this afternoon. The weekend was glorious. The kids even had a chance to get to the pond and fish a little bit. Nothing was biting but it was good just to get out there. When they were riding their bikes a hugh snake was laying in the road. It ran off in the woods eventually. Probably poisonous but I wasn't gonna get any closer to find out. :)

Idblond..thanks for the MM today. Hang in there...we all make bad choices from time to time. Start overs are GREAT! Today is your start over.

Jack-K good to see you. Are you getting bored being off of work?

Vmoore..woo hoo on getting your workout in. It's extra hard when you are tired or sore and you pushed through..awesome.

Nat..WTG on your paper.

Deb...hope you are finding some Deb time. Know you are loved and thought about often.

Suzyb...hang in there. Plateaus bite but eventually they do end. Remind me of this when I'm whinging...cause I do whine..A LOT :)

Woo hoo to all the party people. Sounds like ya'll had a wonderful weekend. Can't wait to hear the stories and see some photos.

God bless,
Crystle

HI ALL!! Just wanted to let everyone know that I am back home. Trish dropped me off about 3pm & she is heading back to Austin area. She estimated she'd make it home around 10-11pm. Hoping she has a safe trip, as it is still raining.

The weekend was lots & lots of fun, but I'm afraid Missy's parade for tonight may not roll. She left us about 7 this am in good spirits. We had a wonderful lunch at her dad's. They made us all feel like family. The food was great.

Ashley, Shirley & Lyn were still there when Trish & I left for home. I do have quiet a few pictures that I will try to upload after while & get a couple posted.

Idblond, thanks for the MM. I really liked it. Don't beat yourself up too bad about those choices you made over the weekend. We all have to make the BETTER choice sometimes & it's NOT always the right one, but when all the choices are bad, then you make the best one & live with it. We all put ourselves in that position sometimes.

Jack-k, hope you're not over doing it! Sounds like you're doing so much for this soon post-op. Take care girl!

Will try to get back in a while & get pics up as soon as I can. I am pooped! Soooo sleepy I could just crawl in bed & take a nap but have things I need to do, as I have to return to work in am.

Wow, it's kinda slow today, but that's o.k., I have to do some research on food items that Britt can eat. She seems to have allergies to a lot of products that we are going to have to wean her off of for awhile, including corn, wheat & honey. She can't eat any sugar (even fructose) since she has high amounts of yeast in her body. I have to find some things that are rice & oat based. She can't even have regular milk right now. This s/b a real challenge. She started to cry, thinking she had to give up all that she loves.

I got to the gym and got a good workout. It is still raining here, so I'll make this quick and get off the puter.

ldblond: Sounds like a food-filled weekend; glad you found your horse and got back on; I had to do the same today. I am going to have my popcorn and m&m's while watching my BFOF tonight.

vmoore: I'm right there with you girlfriend; it's that TOM, and I feel full and fat. Keep on keepin on and you will see the rewards of all your hard work before you know it. If it only took a few weeks to get our bodies into shape, we'd all look awesome. Think about how many years it took us to get out of shape, and try to be patient. I know, I'm one to talk ;) .

Jack-K: How are you feeling? When is your next check up?

Melf: Glad you made it home safely. Sounds like you had an awesome time; can't wait to see pictures!!!

Well, better run!

Take care,
Nat

Good Monday everyone!! I am -yes I am!- STILL ON TRACK!! I'm really quite proud of myself!! I can't wait to see what WIW brings, although it probably won't be down much since I haven't been drinking as much water! BAD ME! But hey, being OP for the last week is better than being OFF plan and drinking no water! I haven't had caffeine in 2 days either... and boy do I FEEL IT!

Lara - I always wondered which it was, since so many people address your posts "ID" and I thought I was missing something...LOL. I figured I'd ask! My son is feeling much better, and actually has slept ALL NIGHT every night this week! Usually he wakes up and then begs to sleep in my bed, which I wouldn't mind except he's a ROUGH sleeper!! :) And YOU ARE NOT A HYPOCRITE!!! We have ALL fallen off the wagon, and I've been where you are! The support and encouragement you give, and the good advise you give even when you can't seem to follow it yourself, are STILL uplifting to others! You just need to read it and take it to your own heart!! Listen, after 6 months of pop tarts and pizza and french fries, if I can get my butt back on track, you can do it after a weekend!! :) GO FOR IT!!

Nat - I hear that rain is headed MY WAY. We are supposed to get rain starting tomorrow, and I have to walk a block to work from the parking garage!! Time to dig out the old umbrella!!!! WTG on the paper!! Can't get much better than that!!!

Jackie - You are really amazing!! So soon after your surgery and you're out and about, I'd be home milking it, and begging for mashed potatoes! LOL!! What a woman!!! WTG on filling the fridge with OP stuff! I need to do that myself!

vmoore - I hate when my parents pop in without calling, because I didn't have time to clean!! I want my house perfect when they come over, I know it's strange!! Hope your little one is feeling better!

HI to everyone I missed, I have to go scrounge up something for dinner. I have been craving chicken fingers for WEEKS and I might just make some! Have a great night all!!

Quick post...well, the weekend was horrendous for me! I won't go into detail. Today is a new day, right? I liked the MM today. I will NEVER give up. I'm all puffy and swollen from all my "misbehaving" this weekend. Anyway, I did get a good workout in today. That always makes me feel better. Don't have time to post much..gotta fix supper.

BOB- The test said I live to be 79. Hmmm...

Good Morning!

Yes, as Mary guessed...our parade didn't roll last night. But I sure did drink a lot! I was sooooooo drunk....we did manage to have a great time. We have to meet again at 10 this morning with hopes of riding today. It doesn't look like it will happen though. What a waste of a lot of time and money. We just "lose" our dues for this year and we don't even get to ride. I feel extremely bad for those that were only riding for 1 year and they didn't get to roll. That really stinks!

MELF: I can't see the pictures here...it says to click on thumbnails but I don't see any. Is there a trick?

I'll be back tonight!

Goodmorning!!!

It sounds like yall had a great time. The pics are great. I got to put faces to some names. Speaking of names, mine is Valerie.

TOM was late so its still here for tomorrows WIW but I'm still hoping for a good outcome. Now that im in the 180's im dying to get to 170's. I know, one day at a time but i want it all now. lol I can get into a size 18 but they are so tight i cant breath. So thats my goal for now. I think the jeans will come with the 170's. Thats why Im headed that way as hard as I can.

well, im keeping my neices today so i need to go make sure dylans toys are put up so they dont put anything in their mouths.

Have a great day!!!! :D

Good mornning everyone!!

I am going to volunteer in Britt's class for a little while today, and then I think I am going to take Lane to Chick-Fil-A; we finally have a free standing one in the valley, and I've been dying for some. Lane then has her 18-month check up today (6 weeks late)....I've held off due to flu season. I'm sure the kids will still get sick, just going in for her well check.

Beth: Way to stay OP and off the caffeine; that's wonderful. Now just push that water, and you will be on your way!! Is it raining there yet? Our air is so clear today; it's wonderful. Another storm is predicted for later in the week...I love it!

heart: Why do we do this to ourselves over the weekend???? Do you want to start weighing in on Mondays for awhile? Maybe it would make us more accountable!!

Melf: Thanks for the pictures; they are so fun!

Fruit: So sorry it literally "rained on your parade." What a disappointment for you. It sounds as if everyone had a lot of fun! I just clicked on the pictures that Melf posted and they all opened, with the exception of the first one.

Well, not much more to report. I enjoyed my BFOF last night; always like a happy ending.

I still haven't eaten breakfast, so I better go eat!

Take care,
Nat

Hi! I just bought the SB new book and need a little help with servings for each meal. I am the type of person that needs to know how much of each thing to have at each meal. This would help me to understand a little better.
Any help would be appreciated. :) Thanks Tammy

Hi everyone! I live in Bakersfield, Ca and just got the SB book. I have tried a million different diets and hope this is the right one. I am the type of person though that needs a little direction, like how much of each type of portion to have at each meal. This would help my confusion a little if anyone can help me out I would appreciate it.
Thanks, Tammy :)

MISSY.... I'm so sorry that your parade didn't go through...It's supposed to start raining here in a little while and we're supposed to get up to 3 inches of the wet stuff. It's the same system that has been rolling through your area.
Glad to hear that everyone had a good time. Will talk to you soon!

Happy Fat Tuesday,

I don't think that applies to us SB's.

Got in a mile walk yesterday afternoon. Then DH came home and we walked another 1 1/2 miles. Then we went to the grocery. By the time we got home I was worn out and my legs ached.

Today I am doing some work from home. Nothing else going on.

Country, yes I am bored. Hoping the Dr lets me drive tomorrow and I can go in for a couple hours a day. I'm getting addicted to daytime TV. It was warm here yesterday. It was so nice to get out in the sunshine.

Melf, sounds like you all had a great time. Loved the pics. Thanks

Pancho, poor Britt. I bet she is so overwhelmed right now. Hoping you can figure all this out quickly for her. Visit to the doc tomorrow. Hope I get rid of this last drain tube.

Beth, I knew you could make it back. I am so proud of you. Can't wait to see what WIW brings for you. :crossed:

Heart, you know the drill. Jump back on the wagon. I'm sure all that exercise will hlp you not gain from the bad things.

Missy, I'm so sorry you didn't get to ride. Can't it go in the rain anyway? I'm sure with all those crazy people there they would show up.

VMoore, you are really motivated and I'm sure those 170's will be here soon. Just keep on keepin on.

Califgirl, Welcome this is a great place for support. Ask any questions you have. Serving sizes are like any diet. 1/2 cup veggies, meat size of a deck of cards. Watch your fats such as cheese, butter, etc. They are legal, but may slow your loss. SB is very doable for all walks of life. Good luck.

Need to clean out my makeup drawer. Be back later.

WTG on your paper! When can we read it?

LDBLOND
I have 2 kids 16 year old Heather and 10 year old Peter. We took a nice break between kids. Although it did not give me a break! Because I was the only stay home mom out of 4 SIL's I got all my nieces & nephews (3 of them at the time) during school breaks and sick days. Then I had my husbands sisters 2 kids on and off till they moved to Florida. Then I had 1 niece 3 days a week from the time she was 9 months old till she was 5. So I felt like I had 5 or 6 kids LOL

Vmore
You don't have to use the weights for WATP. I still don't and I do the 2 mile. Shoot I did the 1 mile for over a month. It should be what is comfortable for you. If you dislike your workout, you won't do it! I honestly don't care what my mom or MIL thinks about how I keep house. As a matter of fact, I usually have a basket of clothes on my couch in need of folding (It's hard to fold with on hand) and they always fold for me LOL

Beth
I had to laugh at your pop tart remark. I used to LOVE the strawberry ones with frosting! Then to make it worse I would put butter on them! I looked at them the other day in the store and could not belive how bad they are. Pure sugar!

Califgirl
Welcome to the board!
The book says
"Counting calories or weighing or measuring is not a part of the Sugar Busters plan. "We want you to look at portion size," says Dr. Bethea. "We are giving you a nice way to figure this out. Do you know what a dinner plate looks like? It's got a flat bottom and flared sides. Your meat and two or three vegetables ought to fit neatly on the bottom of the plate. It shouldn't be stacked. It shouldn't be up on the sides."

Hey guys...I've been a little MIA these past few weeks. Doesnt mean I'm not OP though. I have been doing really good, with the occasional Sunday slip up. I joined a gym yesterday! Its called Curves...I dont know if you guys are familiar with it...but its great. I have to say i absolutley love it. I started yesterday and it gives you a great workout and its only 30 minutes. Doesnt seem like much I know...but it absolutley works. I talked to actual people that have before and after pics and they look so good. Its nice to hear it staright from the people...unlike reading testimonials in magazines when you dont know if its true or not. Anyway...I my acccountant just pulled up...so i will try and get back later. Oh and I also am down to 207...so NAT you were right, obviously my goal was shot down. Thanks for all the pics MELF. Glad you guys had a great time.

Chris

p.s. Glad to see you are doing so well JACKIE...I knew you would! :)

Goodafternoon!!!!

Tammy- Welcome!!!! You will love it here!!!! The support is awesome ! Cherylco already filled ya in on portions. Just one plate and no seconds!! unless maybe a side salad. Be sure to check out the recipie boards. they are great. I just finished eating some food i got from there.

Bob- I hope this does it for you. Bless your heart, you have been through enough.

Cherylco- I know how you feel...mine is 17 (girl) and 6 (boy). I also watch my neices and nephews and the neighborhood children...lol People think your a stay at home mom so you dont have anything else to do...lmaooooo Thanks for that post, that was cool. We are finally getting some recognition that this WOL is a good thing. I think i will go ahead and try the 2 mile without the weights. As long as i do the motions it should still help strengthen my upper body and then i can work on the weights as i go. I have flabby arms and back boobs i want to get rid of. Sometimes I wonder how i let myself get where i am now, but no looking back.....Im gonna be looking great come summer!!! :crossed:

Welcome back all you partay ppl!!!

Hey ya'll!! I made it back and let's just say I'm detoxing today and leave it at that! The PARTAY was so much fun and Missy and her entire family were so sweet and generous to us while we were there. Missy is every bit as fun as she comes across on the boards. It was great fun to get to meet Ashley and Shirley for the first time also. Lyn, Mary and I were old friends from last year's hoopla. Ashley is very sweet and cute, and Miss Shirley (as Ashley calls her) is very feisty and had no trouble keeping up with the rest of us. Today it was back to the grindstone and back on track with eating. Breakfast today was an apple and a couple of string cheeses, lunch was a fajita salad (no chips and boy was that hard). Not sure what dinner is going to be but it's gonna be legal.

Talk to you guys later.

Just waiting for DH to get home. I cleaned out my makeup drawer and that led to cleaning out the rest of the vanity. Got a whole garbage bag of junk out of there. Took a short walk. Wasn't as warm as I thought.

Bob, so glad that you found the culprit. Hope you don't have any pain from that pulled tooth.

Cherylco, My kids are 3 years apart, but there is 10 years between me and my youngest DS. Makes you think huh? It was sweet of you to be able to keep all your nieces and nephews though.

Chris, there are several girls here that go to Curves. My friend at work goes along with her 10 year old DD. They love it too. Hope you enjoy it and see results.

VMoore, you are right, only one way to go. I do the 3 miles WATP and sometimes don't use wts. Go at your own pace.

Trish, so glad you had a great time. I would have loved meeting everyone. Maybe next time. Back on the wagon for you today. Good luck.

Have a dr appt tomorrow. Hope he removes the last drain tube and lets me drive. My friend is taking me and we are going to Church afterwards (Ash Wed) and then to lunch. So I won't be on until after lunch. Have a great evening. Talk to you tomorrow.

Fruit--So glad everything went so well this past weekend for y'all, except for the rainy day. Those things happen. It rained here today too. I was driving home from my class when my tire went flat. So I sat in my car in the rain for an hour till AAA came and changed it. Then another hour at Costco getting the tire repaired and put back on the car. Two and a half hours gone over one puny nail.
BTW, click on the small picture in the box and a new screen should come up with a larger picture in it. They all worked for me except for the first one, like Pancho.

Pancho--I did that food sensitivity thing for almost 3 months. It is doable! I was off wheat flour, eggs, cows dairy (except for butter), canteloupe, cranberries, beef, and all beans. It is amazing how many other meats are out there. I had ostrich, duck, buffalo, chicken, turkey, cornish hen, pork, and fish. We have a HFS that has breads made w/o wheat, so I had millet bread. I just omitted milk, and so had no cereal, except for oatmeal with splenda and butter. Rice milk is really pretty good, just a little sweeter than cows milk and it resembles skimmed milk. Not bad at all, although I didn't even bother this time. For cheese, I used sheeps cheese and goat cheese. I had lots of meat and veggies with one fruit and one grain each day. Still only lost about 3 pounds in 2 months.

Talking about weight loss, I am at my lowest in the 160's--168. So just 8.5 more pounds to go until I reach a mini-goal. Hope I get there by Oct. I don't know if I'll be doing SB in France in June. I will be at the mercy of the family I will be staying with. Anyway, I now fit into a skirt that I really like that I've had in my closet for months. It always was just a little too tight and uncomfortable. It now fits perfectly. I wore it today, and even got a complement. Way to Go Me! :)

Gonna be short; I am holding Lane.

Went to Sprouts today to find some stuff for Britt; what a chore! I started talking to a few women there and they ended up praying for Britt right there in the store; it was really nice.

califgirl: welcome; we are glad to have you!

BOB: Glad you got that molar out; ypu s/b feeling better soon.

Jack-K: I hope you get that tube out...it will make all the diff. in the world. I don't know if you've been told to stay away from paraben; it is in cosmetics, lotions, cosmetics......they have actually found it in breast cancer biopsies...jusy an fyi.

cheryl: I could e-mail paper to anyone who would really like to read it; it is 2 1/2 pages long; too long to post on here.

chrisd: glad you finally decided to join Curves; I hope you get the results you are looking for.

Trishaloo: Glad you enjoyed the get-together; it sounds like we missed a great time.

Gator: thx for info. I found some rice milk, crackers, pasta. Cereals are hard to find w/out wheat, corn, gluten, honey, etc but I found a few.

I will check in for WIW; it's my early gym day.

Take care!

Thanks everyone for the help. Is it ok to have honey bunches of oats with strawberries for breakfast? Also are you supposed to have fruit and like with dinner should you have brown rice or just vegetables? This is what I am unsure about like how many grains you should have per day and how many fruits? Thanks everyone for the help. Tammy

Hi,

Lyn here in Dallas safe and sound. Shirley and Ashley were kind enough to get me to the airport on their way home and I did so appreciate it. (By the way ladies, I made it just fine and the plane was on time believe it or not.) Shirley is such a nice person and she had no problem keeping up and in fact was probably the ring leader at times. Ashley is a lovely person, so kind and helpful and a real knockout in her black outfits and blond hair.

Missy and Terry are just the greatest people. They are so sweet and generous with their time, their home and their family.

Jack-K: As my good friends will tell you, I am a good girl and did not show a thing to get my wonderful beads. I think Missy was amazed at how much fun I had just admiring and playing with them.

Mary: Good job with the little thumbprint pictures. The only problem is the 20 more pounds I need to lose seems to really show up! This will be a good incentive for me to get busy with that goal.

Trish: So good to get to talk to you at noon today and know got home safely.

I am trying to unpack and get settled but I will check in tomorrow to see what is happening on the board. My daughter and her husband will be here tomorrow and I have an appointment for a mammagram, so, it will be a busy day. I guess the partay is over!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Calif- I would guess no on the honey bunches of oats...first of all the word honey..we cant have it. Second, if it is made with enriched flour and i bet it is you cant have it. I usually stick with oatmeal or sometimes i eat the kashi cereal. As far as grains, im not sure about that, your allowed 2-3 starchy carbs a day, like 1/2 cup beans, 1/2 sweet potato, 1/2 starchy veggie, 1 slice stone ground whole wheat bread (STWW). I have found some STWW pita bread that is good and some STWW tortillas that are great. When you eat STWW you will see the carbs are higher but the ingrediants are legal. I eat 1-2 servings of fruit a day. Someone else will have to pitch in on about the fruit, im not sure. I know we shouldnt eat anything that has more than 3 grams of sugar per serving. I dont know if i have actually helped you at all, I hope so. Keep asking and we will keep (trying) answering. lol

HiedeeHo All!

In the words of Little Orphan Annie, "Gloryosky, Sandy!" What a great time we had! Y'all missed a ball!

I am always afraid of getting lost, but Ashley and Missy gave great directions to their respective homes!

I had to tease Ashley, she was out on her front lawn watching for me (I had told her if she saw a green Escort with a confused looking klady driver, it would be me). I asked her if she was drumming up business. Nice way to greet someone you never met before!

Made it to Missy's without any problems, the trip went quickly as we chatted, and were greeted by four sets of open arms. So it was a good start to the weekend. We spent the rest of the afternoon gabbing, getting acquainted, playing Phase 10 (OMG! Takes forever! Never did finish the game altho we kept saying all weekend we were going to! We just about starved to death waiting for the lasagna to heat through! But believe me there were lots of other goodies that saved us! We also went to Wally's World to buy more food so we wouldn't waste away to nothing. Lyn bought ingredients for the famous cheesecake we all love and Mary things for a crab quiche that is to die for! Then there were those of us who bought SF Easter Eggs and Jelly Beans, after all man/woman does not live by good foods alone. Besides they were good!

Missy, Trish, Ashley, Terry (who, by the way is as cute as he can be (DIMPLES ladies!) and so very nice) went out carousing and kareokeing (can't spell it). Lyn, Mary and I tended to our knitting and crocheting. I for one, was just not up to going out.

You know how you want people to think you know what you're doing? You should have seen me struggling to find a mistake in my crocheting, at one point it took the three of us to untangle me and the yarn. Apparently I can't crochet and chat at the same time! Lyn nad Mary obviously knew what they were doing!

Missy's parents are the greatest, The epitome of southern hospitality! They hosted us twice with food and booze. Her Dad likes Southern Comfort too, we had quite a discussion on there not being any 100 proof in LA! Here they were willling to take in perfect strangers (at least Missy knew us through cyberspace and had met a couple of us)it was like meeting old friends, and I'm arguing the merits of real booze as opposed to the watered down stuff!

Not only that, but friends of Missy's hosted us. They live on the parade route and make the day a party for friends and neighbors and included us. Enough food for an army! I'm sure we did it justice! As you can see from Mary's pictures we had a great parade time. The weather was perfect. I did catch some beads, I probably could have caught more but could only use one arm and also would have to sit down now and then. Mary, caring soul that she is, bless her, shared her wealth of beads. I would never have had as many as I did without her. She is such a calm and relaxed person, I find her a real pleasure to be with. Lyn was our bead queen, I wouldn't want to say she was a B Ho, she just smiled her pretty smile, (I think I saw a little wiggle now and then), and presto! she got the beads!

Trish was no piker either! She had a slew of beads! She wasn't as close to me so I couldn't see exactly what she did to get hers, was it something about eye contact? Trish is great, love her sense of enthusiasm and humor. Very upbeat. Can run circles around us.

We had a gift grab bag. We conned Terry into handing out the gifts. I got a very nice LeSportsac that will get a lot of use.

Weather-wise Monday was a miserble day! Poor Missy, all dressed up and no place......well that's not exactly true! The parade might not have rolled, but it was obvious that Missy and her friends did! While she was doing that we were at her father's house meeting their friends and eating delicious food, drinks and Southern Comfort. Trish and Mary then took off for home, we hated to see them go, we had had such a good time with them. We were also worried about Trish traveling so far alone after she dropped off Mary. Those windshield wipers can be hypnotizing, also she would not be getting home until about 11p. So glad you made it safe Trish.

That left Lyn, Ashley and me. We finally said goodbye to our hosts and went back to Missy's where we kept Lyn company as she packed. We had a relaxing rest of the day. We figured Missy wouldn't be parading. When Terry came home from work we met Missy at Norm's Dacquiri place. Had a drink, then the three of us went across the way to a Mexican restaurant and then back to the house. We thought Missy and Terry would make a night of it, but they came along soon after. Then Missy was worried that we's think less of her because she was a little tipsy. We were just glad she had a good time. Heck, I've been in her condition more than a few times! That girl has such a sense of humor and a lot of pep.

This morning everyone was up bright and early so we could pack up the car and head out. We dropped Lyn off at the airport, I was so glad Ashley's house was after the airport as she knew her way around and got us in and out without a problem. Then dropped her home and continued on. Glad to see my family and tell them of the WONDERFUL time I had and the new friends I made.

I do admit to needing a nap. I would never have been able to keep up as much as I did if everyone hadn't been so kind to me. I want you all to know how much I appreciated it. I couldn't have done it without you!

We all missed Debbie and Narda. Debbie was so nice, she shipped a box of goodies to us. We also talked to her a couple of times. We all thank you Debbie for being so thoughtful.

We are considering several options for another get-together next year. All I can say is stay tuned.

I may have missed on the chronological order of things. I hope the others will make corrections. We did a lot and you know I have CRS so will rely on them to fill in the details! I probably left a lot out.

Missy so glad you were able to roll today. We could see all the preparatin you did to make it possible. Thank you for being such a wonderful hostess, you did everything possible to make us feel right at home. Norman and Croline (Carolyn?) are jst te sweetest people. Terry deserves credit for being so easy gong with all that estrogen swirling around him. The three of us are close enough we should try to meet somewhere to keep in touch! Tahnx again!

I am going to get comfy!

Well it was back to work for me today, but it’s been pretty quiet here.

Glad to hear all got home safely!

Trish hope your drive was not too bad. Did you hit allot more rain? Thanks again for being so sweet to come by & pick me up & to bring me back home. That was allot more fun than making the drive by myself. It was good to see you again.

Lyn, I enjoyed our walks & as before, you made a great roommate. Enjoyed spending time with you again. And thanks again for the cute bracelets. I have put mine away for next year & plan to wear it again then.

Shirley our needle work time together was fun as was the parade with you. I sure will give you a call before we leave for vacation & this time I’d like to treat you to lunch as I said. Looking forward to seeing you then. Girl you did great keeping up with the rest of us. Don’t sell yourself short. And I also want to say thanks again for the needlepoint piece that I got from you. You do such beautiful work. I am hanging this one right next to the friendship piece you gave me when we first met.

Ashley you look great. Hope the scale isn’t too bad for you in the morning. I’m sure you’ll be back on tract in no time & will succeed in losing that last 10 lbs. Loved your jambalaya girl. It was great & it was great to meet you too.

Missy, so glad to hear that your parade rolled today!! :cp: We all knew how much you looked forward to it & hated to see all the rain yesterday. Sorry we couldn’t be there to see it. Bet your house seem quiet after we all left, huh? Terry must be glad all the noise is gone. Please tell Terry how much we appreciate putting up with us! Thanks again for being such a great hostess. You are as much fun as I thought you’d be & truly enjoyed the visit.

I was only able to post a couple of the pics last night. Have to resize each one before I can upload them to the site, so it took a while. I’m thinking I will upload them all to an online album like I did with the WDW marathon pics last year, then I’ll post the link here & on the pic board. That way they will be a good size to see them all.

Deb, it was good to get to talk with you Saturday. Thanks for the coffee and for being so considerate to send all the goodies, even though you couldn’t be here! We miss you & look forward to seeing you back on the board soon. We love you girl & miss you here as well.

Jackie & Narda, sorry the 2 of you couldn't make it either, but hope that in the future we will have another get together & that you will be able to come.

Thought I’d share a little about the trip with all on the board. Missy already shared about the parade Friday night, then we went to eat. I ate too much also. Saturday after Shirley & Ashley got there, we all went to Walmart & we picked up some items we needed to complete our SB meals for Saturday evening. Ashley had brought a wonderful chicken & sausage jambalaya. Shirley brought a WW lasagna. While this warmed up we snacked on some wonderful spinach dip & a 7 layer dip that Missy had prepared with some celery sticks & triscuits. Lyn made Deb’s crustless cheesecake & I did the preparations for a Skinny Crab Quiche & put it in the frig to cook Sunday morning for breakfast. We ate & played a fun game of Phase 10 which Missy taught us.

As Missy & Shirley have already shared, while Missy & Terry, Trish & Ashley went to Norm’s & had a few drinks, Lyn, Shirley & I stayed behind & did some knitting & crocheting & chatted & really did enjoy ourselves.

While Missy & Terry went to load her beads on the float Sunday morning, the rest of us got ready & later all went to the parade in Thibodeaux. Missy & her family always go to these friends house where they have lots of others that all come to watch the parade from their front yard. They even fed us! It was a lovely home along the parade route, so everyone brought lawn chairs & it was like a family afair, visiting, etc while waiting for it to start. This was a really nice parade & they threw LOTS of beads. I had not really planned to catch beads, but soon found myself with all the others catching as much as I could. LOL We caught the parade twice, as they did a loop & doubled back, passing a second time around. They seemed to save the best beads for last & we did our best to catch allot of them. :D

After the parade we were invited over to Missy’s Dad’s for burgers. I passed on the bread & chips. I think I did pretty good with my eating over all. I did surcome to some :nono: items but not too bad as far as the whole weekend goes. I’m afraid that I did have a slice of King Cake with strawberry cream cheese. Missy went to bed pretty early as she had to get up so early Monday morning, but the rest of us stayed up & chatted.

Morning brought rain & even a bit of hail. We all got ready & went back to Missy’s Dad’s house for a wonderful lunch before Trish & I headed for home.

I personally had a blast. We laughed allot & enjoyed each other's company. It was great to renew the friendship with Trish, Lyn, & Shirley. It was also great to finally meet Missy & Ashley.

Lyn & I even did a half an hour of walking Sat & Sunday morning, then because of the threat of rain & the fact that I was hurting so bad from all the activity at the parade, we only got in about 20 minutes of a stroll type walk Monday morning.

I still hurt pretty bad today. I was planning to go to the health club tonight on my way home & do the TM, but DH just called me when he got home and said that they closed early today because of Mardi Gras. I am proud to say that I walked 5 days out of 7 last week & will try for the same this week. Will hit the scale tomorrow am & hope to be able to report a loss. If not, I will try harder this week.

Well I'm off to bed. Will try to check in the am & post for WIW, but if I don't have time in the am, I'll check back tommorrow night.

When it rains.....it pours!!

But I will get to that in a minute. I just want to say that I am so glad that all of you that were able to get together, had such a great time. Wish we all could have made it!!

Okay, this was the weekend from H3LL!! On Saturday morning I noticed that there was blood on the bed where my male Bassethound had been sleeping next to me. I looked him over, and found that it was coming from his penis. I called the vet, and they were able to get him right in. After looking him over, and taking blood tests, and doing a urine culture and X-rays. Not much news. He did have blood in his urine, but also had fresh blood coming from the uretha. They put him on some antibiotics and we went home. Dr called with the blood test results and they didn't show anything, so he said he would call Monday with the culture results.

In the meantime.....Saturday night my phone rings and the female voice at the other end says, "Colleen? This is Amy, Brant's friend, and he just wanted me to call you and let you know that we are at the emergency room in Richland. He had a rodeo that night, and ended up butting heads with his bull. And the bull WON!! He hadn't seen the Dr yet, but wanted you to know what was going on. And I will call you back after he has talked to the Dr." So she did call me back, and told me that he has a broken nose, 10 or so stitches, and had crushed the lower part of his left eye socket, and that they were going to do a CAT SCAN. She told me there was nothing we could do that night, and they didn't know if they were going to keep him or release him. So early Sunday morning Amy called back and said that the C-SCAN showed that his nose was completely crushed, and the eye socket would have to be rebuilt. The Dr. that Brant had seen was turning it over to his associate that had more experience with that kind of trauma. So Brant had to wait and see him before we would know what was going on. So Dh and I headed out for the Tri-Cities, about 165 miles away. When we got there, the Dr had already been there and said there was too much swelling to do anything for a few days, so he could go home, but would have to see someone in Spokane about the reconstructive surgery. We got him home around 7 that night. He spent the night dozing in the recliner trying to keep his head at a 35 degree angle. Monday morning after he tried to get an appointment to see a couple of surgeons, the Dr. from Richland was able to get him in to see a Dr. here, that afternoon. He still has too much swelling so they have set him up for a pre surgery physical on Monday, and then will do his reconstruction on Wednesday. He will be in the hospital over night, and then will have to take it easy for another few days. His nose is totally crushed and they will pack it from the inside and then on the outside. They will put 2 titanium plates in, one verticle on the left side of his nose, and then one horizontal under the eye. He has good mobility of his left eye, and can see okay.

Thank God, it wasn't worse than it was. This was something I have always dreaded, since he started doing rodeos! But he is an adult, and this is something that he has chosen to do. So I live with his choice, and pray for his safety.

Back to my puppy dog.....Dr called on Monday and the culture really didn't show anything either. He then said he wanted us to take Bazal in to have an ultra sound done. He was starting to suspect cancer. We took my baby in this aternoon, and the results were not good. My baby boy has prostate cancer. They also found one lymph node inlarged and suspect that is has already spread. I am just devastated, this is my baby. We have loved him since he was a puppy and he is only 9. I thought the whole reason for having him nuetered was to help prevent this.... I have done nothing but cry all afternoon. They are going to put him on some kind of medication, that is supposed to ****** the growth, but to what degree, we don't know. It differs with each animal. Eventually he will get to where he can't potty, and then we will have let him join my father. My heart is breaking, I don't know what we will do without him.

I hope you will all understand that I probably won't be here as much, for now. I will try to keep up as much as I can, but I have to come to terms with this first. This is my first loss of a pet of my own. As a child, we lost a couple of dogs, but they were more my Mom's dogs, and although it hurt, this is hurting beyond compare.

Goodmorning.
I was so excited about WIW until i read coleen's post. I am so sorry to hear that. I had to put my dog to sleep 6 years ago and it was awful. It put me in premature labor with my son. I feel for you and what you are going through. Your in my prayers.

Well, i am down to 187! Down 2 lbs this week!! :cb: I have a dr. appt this morning and she will be sooo happy to see Im back on track. Im actually not worried about my blood test for my diabetes, for the first time! I have now lost 20 lbs in 7 weeks. Not to shabby!! :cp:

Gotta go see the dr., check back in later.

Good Wednesday Morning: I was at 121# this morning, just coming off TOM, so I can't complain. I got up early to go to the gym, and did my Ab scissor when I got home, so my exercise is already out of the way for the day.

Class was good last night, and I learned an intersting tidbit. My instructor (who is in great shape) is pre-disposed to high cholesterol (via family genes). She used to drink whole milk or 2%, and changed to rice milk, and her cholesterol dropped almost 100 points. There is too much saturated fat in regular milk and none in the rice milk. She said that is the only change she made, and it was "kinda" an experiement. She has been on rice milk since.

Califgirl: I would assume that the Honey Bunches of Oats has too much sugar/honey. If it says 3g or less sugars per serving and it is not enriched, than you can probably have it. You want to limit your starchy carbs to 2-3 in the beginning and start to add more in as you feel comfortable.

Yellow: Glad you are back home safe & sound. Sounds like a great time; welcome back to reality, eh?

Fruit: So glad you were able to ride!!

Sef: Glad you enjoyed your time away. Thanks for all the fun details.

Melf: I loved reading about your wonderful time; thanks for taking the time to share.

It was very considerate of Debbie to send those goodies to you all; I hope you enjoyed them!

Teensy, Teensy, Teensy......OMG!!! So sorry to hear about Brandt; getting a call about a child who has been badly injured has got to be a terrible experience. I will pray for a succesful surgery on Wednesday, and a quick recovery. I am also so very sorry to hear about Brazal!! I hope they can get any pain under control and that he will be able to hang in there for awhile without enduring too much pain. We had to have two dogs put to sleep within 4 months of one another, and it was so very difficult!! There is a site that may help you with your grief, and acceptance of the inevitable, it is called www.petwhispers.com. It is a great site. ((((((((((Hugs)))))))!!

Well, I better run!!

Take care,
Nat

Starchy carbs. Depending on how much weight you want to loose and how quick. If you limit yourself to say one starchy carb a day you should loose faster. But if you do that you might start feeling deprived and go off the SB plan. Everyone does things differently. I don't look at this as a diet but the way I'm always going to eat. I'm losing really slow but I'm not feeling like I'm deprived or suffering. So it might take me longer but it's working for me.
You can have brown rice with veggies and a meat for dinner if you want.
I doubt Honey bunches of oats is legal. Honey is not legal.

Thanks for the pictures! glad you got to ride in the parade :)

So sorry about your doggy :( I lost mine last month after 10 years so I know how much it hurts. We might be getting a puppy this week. My son is having a hard time without the dog and wants another one.

Vmoore
That is a great weight loss! Congratulations!

I'm taking my daughter for blood today today. Her good friend was diagnosed with an acute case of mononucleosis so we're testing to see if she's got it too.
No weight loss this week. No gain either :)

Valerie, thanks for the advice it helps. I knew that cereal tasted to good.
Pancho and Cherylco thanks for the help.

Sorry to hear about your doggy, I have a beagle that I love to pieces and would freak if I lost her.

Just a little info about myself: I am a full-time college student and after this semester only have two years left to become a teacher. I have 3 children 15, 9, and 10(2boys and a girl). I have been married for fifteen years and I am 33 years old! I used to be a size 5 until I had my last two kids back to back and ever since then I have been struggling with diets. I have tried ww, atkins, protein power, grapefruit, and the list goes on..... I am 5"1" and about 50pounds over weight. Glad to see you guys are so friendly here and hope to get to know you all better. My biggest downfall however is exercise and finding the time to motivate myself to want to do it.

Thanks for the help!

The scales where good to me this week...I lost 2 pounds..it's been a long time. 157 Now to just keep it off. The biggest difference and no I told ya so's...LOL has been breakfast. Almost everyday I've been having 1/2 cup plain yogurt with either half a pear or 3 strawberries and 1/2 a packet of splenda. I missed it this morning but only because I've been so busy online.

Bob...I bet you will be back to 100 percent pretty soon with that bad tooth out. I'm glad they found it.

Colleen...I am so sorry to hear about your baby. Both your son and your pup. That has to make for a tough week. Hang in there and know you are in my prayers. ((Colleen))

Poncho...Good job on your paper.

Vmoore...woo hoo on the new low!!!!!!!!!! you are doing so good.

Jack-K...you amaze me woman. Awesome on your walking. Hope you have the tubes out soon so you can get back to more of the things you want to do.

Deb...sending love and hugs your way.

Everybody...YOU are AWESOME! Each of you is special.

Love,
Crystle

Nat, I keep forgetting to tell you, my niece has her daughter on a gluten free, dairy free and something else, but she orders a lot of stuff from an online site called www.glutenfreepantry.com. She also said that there is some good information on that site as well. Let me know if you have questions, I could hook you up with her and I'm sure she'd be happy to give you any other info. Their daughter has done so much better on that diet, it's amazing. She's a little trooper about it. They were at Disney not too long ago and stayed on the property at one of the hotels there. She called ahead and actually got to talk to the chef. He made sure that there was stuff for Gabrielle to eat and made the entire experience very special for her.

Colleen: I am so sorry to hear that you have such drastic things happening in your life right now. I understand how important our fur babies are to us and how awful it is when something happens. My two cats are seniors now and I feel blessed for every day with them. I hope life starts treating you better.

Shirley: Your report of the weekend events was great. I think you said it all very well. I do need to add to the group that Shirley was working on a complicated project with her needling and I had a very simple one, so, that explains about the "No Problem" issue. Thanks, Shirley, for the nicer "Bead" title.

Debbie: We did miss you and Bob at the get together. Thank you for sending the coffee and other goodies. As usual, you think of others even when you are down yourself.

Missy: Such good news about your parade getting to roll. Did you have a good time? Did you throw good stuff to "Bead Queens"?

Pancho: Yes, reality has a way of intruding quickly. I bet you experienced the same thing when you returned from your vacation.

Califgirl: Welcome, welcome to this board. I bet you will fit right in and gets lots of useful information and support.

I am suppose to be making out a grocery list for my "kids" visit, so, I'd better get busy.

Oh! I forgot to tell you all, I actually was brave enough to weigh this morning and.....I didn't gain any. It must have been the walks with Mary and the bead catching activities.

HiedeeHo All!

Can't seem to get my backfield in motion! I'm still in my robe. I'm still tired and realized that I issed a few things in reading the posts.

FRUIT: Dear Missy, you are definitely the Hostess wit the Mostest. We couldn't have asked for finer hospitality than you and Terry gave us. Thank you ever so much. Glad you finally got a chance to flaunt your stuff in the parade. Go girl! We'll have to manage to keep in touch somehow. Glad you managed to have fun without getting drunk. I can believe you did it!

DEBBIE: We missed your presence so much. It was great of you to send the package of goodies, You are so thoughtful as ever. What would we do without you?

MELF: Sorry you are still hurting, hope you feel better soon. I was concerned because you looked tired Monday. So glad you put in your version of the weekend. You mentioned things I missed! I also forgot that my car was one of the cars on the block that was egged one night. Thank goodness you and Lyn noticed it when you took your constitutional! Lyn got soap and water and she washed spot, Trish found the hose, I moved the car into the driveway so hose would reach. We didn't need the hose, Mother Nature rinsed it for us. We were soaked. Mary please remember to post the crab recipe, it was soooooooo good. You really posted pics quickly.

JACKIEO: Maybe you could post your recipe too as I enjoyed that too. It was so nice to meet you. You were a wonderful traveling companion and co-pilot.

PANCHO: Congrats on your paper. Your instructor must have put you on cloud nine. Nothing like writing about something you really know! Feel bad for Britt, it's so hard to give up certain things (as well we know!), especially when you're young. Hope she settles in the new regime okay.

V: The MM makes us all think. Sometimes they hit home with me too. Somebody once told me, they clean house after the company leaves. People only notice clutter, so if you've picked up you're ready! But being like you, I have to clean first. Hey the weight loss is definitely not so shabby!!!!

LDBLOND: Loved your MM! Truth be told, we were not all good this past weekend. I think Mary and Lyn were the best behaved. That's not a criticism of anyone else's choices! I know I made bad ones. So it's back in the saddle again or I, for one, am in deep trouble! Nacho Supreme is not good.........altho it was while I ate it! I always have the "Do as I say, don't do as I do" syndrome! Thanx for the compliment.

JACKK: Aren't you supposed to be recuperating? Seems like you are doing an awful lot. Not that you should sit on your hands, but maybe a little less.

COUNTRY: Sorry the fish weren't biting, but it is the fun of doing an activity.

BETH: So glad for you that you have managed to stay on track. We all know that's not as easy at times as it sounds!

CALI: Welcome! I'm sure you will find a lot of information and support here. We love to answer questions, doing so helps refresh our comittment.

BOB: Glad you are finally getting some relief.

CHERYL: Sounds like you were running a day care center. People always think tha SAHMs have all the time in the world! My DS is 7 years younger than me, my DB is 13 years younger. MAde me want to have my kids closer together so they're 22 months apart.

CHRIS: Glad you are OP and enjoying Curves.

TRISH: Glad you got home safely. Do you find it hard to get back on the wagon after a cheat spell? I know I do. I love your enthusiasm. I think you would be game for just about anything! It was great finally meeting you.

GATOR: In Shakespeare wasn't a kingdom lost for want of a nail? Little things can be so annoying! WTG on fitting into the skirt!

YELLOW: You have to admit we took you to the airport via the scenic (?) route, or what you could see of it in the fog! You were a delight, I didn't hear one backseat driver comment and you weren't even knitting!

TEENSY: Hope your DS will be okay. Once a mother always a mother. Even though our children are adults we still worry. Also know how you feel about your dogbaby. I went through it with my Freckles and her kidney function. She was 15 and so peppy that at times you wouldn't believe she was in the condition she was. It was such a hard thing to put her to sleep and I stayed with her to the end. To make it worse she was really my DH's dog and she was a link to him. Probably sounds silly but I hope you know what I mean. I will keep you all in my prayers.

Okay time for some lunch, a little snooze, shower, supper and choir practice.

Hey Hey Hey!

I'm up and moving and washing some serious clothes today! I have to admit that I'm still in my pjs though! HA! Don't think that I'm going to report WIW - actually I didn't even get on the scale cause I don't want to see! I have got to have at least 10 pounds of booze in me! Good Lord!

We did have one downer yesterday. My friends mom has been in the hospital for 6 weeks and she died yesterday morning. Her boyfriend came to get her off of the float before we started to roll. We were all crying and felt so bad for her. The only positive is that her mom isn't suffering any more. She was having so many problems and now she is at peace. I just feel bad for my friend and her family.

I just have to say again how much I enjoyed our get together! You all have no idea how wonderful these ladies are! We had such a good time laughing and cutting up. I can't wait to have my pictures developed. I'll bring them today when I decide to get dressed!

SEF: Thanks again for the beautiful picture that you cross stitched for my house. I love it! I will think of you each and every time I look at it on my wall! I got such a kick out of you and my dad talking about the Southern Comfort...I bet he'll be looking for the 100 proof soon! HAHA! I didn't know until Tuesday that your car got egged! I can't believe that! That kind of stuff normally doesn't happen around here - well, at least - it hasn't happened since I grew up! I will need you to e-mail me your address. You left a small picture album here that I want to mail back to you. We'll get together again soon!

MELF: Please post the pictures that you get on that website with the album. I can't see any of the pictures that you posted here because nothing shows up as a thumbnail - I just have an empty box. I really want to see all of the party pics! I really enjoyed watching you at the parades too! You were just as much of a Bead Ho as Lyn! HAHA! You were up there workin it like you were an old Mardi Gras Pro! Thanks again for the precious Mardi Gras Bear for my curio cabinet - now each year I'll have a reminder of the fun we had this weekend!

TRISH: Girl...what can I say other than I think we are twins! HAHA! If me, you, and BOB would be together it wouldn't be anything nice! We would tear up the place and Big Lover wouldn't have a chance! Thanks again for the SLAH glasses! I love them! It was a shame that you had to leave early monday and you couldn't see me in full force - I was a pitiful sight! :o You would have gotten a good laugh at my expense! I look forward to our next meeting when we can tear up the town again!! Oh yeah....I think it was you that left the wine...or was it Lyn? I'm going to give that to Dad & Carolyn since we aren't big wine drinkers and they are!! Thanks!!

BEAD HO: I'm so glad that you made it home safely! When I was unpacking my stuff yesterday for the parade I thought of you each time I found a pretty bead. Then I thought.....it's a good thing the Bead Ho isn't here cause then I wouldn't have anything to throw! You would have taken them all! HAHAHAHA! Thanks again for the beautiful clock. I love it...the design is beautiful. Honestly, I have never seen a clock like that before...it's very unique. Let's get together again soon!!!!

And...last but not least...

JACKIEO: Girl....you are a riot! You have such a great attitude and sense of humor! I just know that you'll be coming back to town to hunt down Big Lover and have him serenade you. Really, come any time you want!! We would love to have you and I'll let you know when we are going to the city to see our friends...which will hopefully be soon. Thanks again for the Norm's gift certificate...you know we'll put that to good use!

DEB: I'm so glad that you called us throughout the weekend! Also, thanks for all the goodies. I ate a piece of the cheesecake this morning and it was devine! You were right....if I could only slap a little graham cracker crust under it - it would be even more perfect! I sure wish that you could have been here with us - we will do it again though and you will be here! Thanks for the soap rock...do you use it like regular soap? I've never had one of those before.

TEENSY: SO sorry to hear about all of your trauma this weekend. Keep us posted on the progress of your 2 babies. I'm sure everything will be fine.

OK - I'm running out of here! I'll be back later to check in!

Love ya

Hey Everybody!!! I have really missed you all these past few days. Had a SUPER time at the get together and can't wait until the next one. I am very depressed this morning because I weighed and I was 5 pounds heavier. I guess I deserve them considering I went crazy with my eating. We were laughing at how it was supposed to be the Sugarbusters get together and all we were doing was "busting up some sugar". I am back on track today and trying to forgive myself for those 5 pounds.

Missy- Thanks again for everything you did for us. We had the best time. I am so glad I got to see Big Lover at the karaoke. What a hoot. I guess some of those 5 pounds came from the appetizer platter at Norms. "You ordered WHAT?". Talk to you soon. I am already planning my next visit to the Loupe Lodge.

Sef- It was really nice meeting you and riding up together. You are a very sweet lady and I look forward to seeing you again. Hope your trip from my house to yours was Ok. How are you feeling?

Lyn- I really enjoyed meeting you and hanging out with you while you engaged in your obsessive packing. HAHA. It was nice to hear about your family and finally be able to place a face with a name. For the record, I never thought you were a bead ho. I always knew it was all about the EYE CONTACT. You were so much fun to hang out with. I apologize if I looked stupid at the mexican restaurant following my margarita acquired stupor. I have ZERO TOLERANCE. Keep up the great work with sugarbusters. You really look fabulous!!

Mary- It was a real pleasure to meet you and your crab quiche rocked!!!!You were the SB inspiration of the trip with your adherence to on plan eating and getting up daily to walk (Lyn too). I apologize if I skipped you during Phase 10, but I was desperate!!!!!!!

Trish- Girl, you are so much fun to hang out with. I really had a good time chatting with you "one on one" at norms. I hope we can hang out together soon. Maybe I will come to Austin. Hope you had a safe trip back. Hope you are also back on plan with me. NO MORE CHEX MIX!!!!!!

Deb- I so wish I could have met you. I was glad I got a chance to speak to you on the phone while at the Loupe Lodge. Thanks so much for the coffee and for helping to fuel my addiction. I hope to meet you soon!!!!

JackK- I really wish you could have been there. I missed you. Hope to see you soon!!!

CountryMom, teensy, and Nat- I MISSED "chatting" with you. can't wait to catch up be reading all of last wekks posts. Talk to you soon.

Hi ladies

Reading the accounts of the weekend party make you feel like you were there. Glad it was fun. Hope to make the next one.

This is a drive thru- Sorry.

Went to dr. He did remove the one tube and stitches in my belly button. But I will have to have some surgery Monday to fix a small part of my boob that is not healing. Dreading that.

My friend took me to lunch and to church. We walked around the mall awhile too.

I am tired and DH just got home. Got to get dinner going. See you all tomorrow.

Gator, flat tires are bad enough, but then in the rain. Glad you had AAA. Congrats gettin into that new skirt and the 160's.

Pancho, is the Paraben in deoderant? I have read about a link between deoderant and breast cancer. I told my girls to quit using antipersperants and just use plain deoderant.

Lynn, I have a huge bags of beads from 3 trips to NO. My DD put some in bottles as decorations. Glad you all had a great time. WTG not gaining any wt.

Missy, so glad you got to ride. Also glad you are sober!

Sef, what a wonderful account of your weekend. Felt like I was there. Terry is a cutie isn't he?

Melf, thanks for more info on the trip. I'm glad you got some beads too. Sounds like a blast.

Teensy, you porr thing. Prayers for your DS> Hope things go ok for him. Sounds pretty bad to me. Also prayers for you and your puppy. It is a horrible thing to experience. But you don't want him to suffer. Hang in there.

VMoore, congrats on the 2 lbs. You are on your way.

Pancho, that is interesting about the rice milk. I will pass that one on. Good job getting all that exercise in.

Cherylco, hoping your DD does not have mono.

Califgirl, thanks for the info on you. Nice to get to know people. Make time to exercise, it really helps tone up what you lose.

County, I'm sooo glad the scales moved for you. Now you are 1 under me. Gotta work harder to catch up.

Ashley, Big Lover??? spill your guts.

I haven't been posting becasue I had a stomach thing, which seems to have just about worked it's way out. Finally! I skimmed thru posts, sounds like the NOLA contingent did just fine with their get-together, and the pics were great! DH and I went away last weekend too, did some swing dancing, learned some new steps. I finally found some yogurt, Carb Countdown by Dannon, the portions are small, but it's sweetened with Splenda, so should be fine. ALso filled out all the financial aid forms for the kids for college and mailed them today. Also mailed one deposit check for eldest DS. I'll post more tomorrow, I hope to get back on the treadmill after being off for a couple days with this bug, and I'm scrapbooking too, plus making dinner. Back to work! :dizzy:

Hey guys. I'm not even getting on the scales. Shirley and Mary, thanks so much for posting the details of our adventures. And yes, Ashley, I'm back on the wagon. In fact, for Lent, I'm giving up all the "little cheats" that I was allowing myself to have. You know, that 1 margarita, those few little chips, that durned bread at Outback!!

All I can say is that it's a good thing that Missy and I don't live any closer to each other. We were definitely a bad influence on each other

Breakfast was a 1/2 pb&j. Had salad and lentil soup for lunch. Tonight is chicken breasts, brown rice and some kind of veggie.

Oh, yeah, did I tell ya'll that while I was gone, Seth scammed the neighbors out of a trampoline??? The neighbors are moving and didn't want their trampoline anymore so Seth asked if he could have it. Joe told him if he could get it home, he could have it. So he rounded up his buddies and they rolled it down the street.

Gotta scoot. Talk to you guys later.

Hi guys:

I plan to get some of Lane's 18-month pictures in the mail tonight, considering she is now going on 20 months.

Not much to report, so I'll jump into replies.

cheryl: I sent the paper to you. I hope your dd doesn't have mono. How is she doing overall? Is the counseling going well?

califgirl: The baby-making did it to me as well. Last March, I was 152#'s, and my youngest was 8-mos. old. I am 5'4". People kept telling me that I looked good for "just" having a baby. Well, my baby was going to be 1-year old soon, and I knew I had to do something. I have lost 32#'s and 22" since last March and have kept it off for the past 3-4 mos. I am now 120-122#'s and have never felt better. Hang in there, and it will happen for you as well!!!

Country: I am so happy that you finally dropped a few pounds, maybe they'll start going down now. I won't say I told you so, even though I am tempted ;) .

Trishaloo: You are so sweet. Thank you so much for the info. I will definately check it out. I may get that info. from you down the road, so I can be in touch with your dd. So nice of Disney to accommodate; I will keep that in mind. Jump on that trampoline; it is awesome exercise, and a great leg toner.

Yellow: Glad you didn't gain!!!

Fruit: So sorry about your DF's mom; I am glad she is no longer hurting.

JackieO: I'm sure some of that weight is water weight. STick to your guns and buckle down, and I am sure you will be down at least 2-3 by next WIW.

Jack-K: Sorry you have to go back in for surgery; I hope this is it for you! Yes, parabens are found in deodorants, as well as lotions, make-ups, and lots of other stuff. I get my deodorant at the health food store, that way I also avoid the aluminum and other junk that's in the others. It is worth the extra money, and I think it works well. I get one called Liken (something)...it is in a white container with orange and green writing, but there are a lot to choose from. My DH even uses it and it works for him. Just check the ingredients, and make sure that polyparaben is not anywhere in the ingredients panel. Once my lotions and other things are used up, I will be replacing with everything from the health food store! Let us know how the surgery goes for you! I will pray for a quick easy procedure and recovery.

Wood: Glad you are feeling better.

I plan to go to the gym while Britt is in school tomorrow, Lane forbid. I then am going to Whole Foods with my mom on Friday.

I haven't told my DH, and probably won't, but I think I am going to cut my hair; it is well below my shoulder now, and I have always had long hair, but I am getting sick of it; I pull it up everyday...so why bother. I have an appt. for next Saturday. I thought about donating my hair, but I've had it weaved, so I don't think anyone will take it. I have been looking through magazines, and Lisa Rinna has a cut that I love, even though it wouldn't look like that on me; she has huge luscious lips and big eyes....but I like the cut anyway...we'll see what I decide to do. I need to just be bold, and if I don't like it, it will grow back, right? Right!

Well, I better go throw dinner in the oven...salmon casserole... don't ask...I'm just gonna throw some stuff together and throw it in the oven.

See ya!

Take care,
Nat

HiedeeHo All!

I took a real loooooooooooong snooze (4 hours!) this afternoon. I was wiped out, but now am raring to go again!!!

FRUIT: You probably have a lot of wash with 5 extra people!! If I had a scale I wouldn't weigh either. I think Southern Comfort has a few calories I don't wan to be reminded of! Sorry about your friend's Mom. Sent you my address. Would hate to lose those pictures.

JACKIEO: You gave wonderful directions, I had no fear of getting lost! That is a compliment! Those 5# will disappear quickly 'cause now you really will bust up sugar! You were a wonderful companion, I look forward to seeing you again!
Anyone who enjoys coffee as much as I do must be special!

JACKK: Sorry to read you will need more surgery. Prayers. Big lover, I didn't see him, but he must be HOT!! that's all they could talk about! LOL

WOOD: Sorry you had the bug, continue to feel better it can take a lot out of you!

TRISH: It would be worth a picture to see you bouncing up and down on that trampoline! Sounds like we all are trying to get back on the wagon! I sorta stumbled on my "I'm a good girl, I am" policy.

PANCHO: Not tell your DH you're getting hair cut? Have the smelling salts handy! What is it with men liking long hair? My DS was bummed when DIL cut her hair. Now she's letting it grow back.

Okay here's the story. I have been called to the principle's pffice! I always make jokes (or at least I thought they were) about being the old lady on the board. Ashley thought I was about 80, I think that's why she calls me Miss Shirley, I didn't hear any Miss Lyns or Miss Marys! The others that I hadn't met thought I was decrepit too! A decrepit old lady wouldn't be running around doing the things I do! So please be aware that although I am the "old lady of the board" I am NOT an old lady!!! But I am one heck of a broad!!!!!

I was hoping to report a loss today, but scale has not budged. The good side of that is at least it is not higher for which I am grateful. I am OP & exercising daily, so I know I can expect a loss sooner or later.

I did go to work out tonight on my way home from work. Did a 19 min mile on the TM, then 2.5 miles on the bike/10 min, 10 min on stairmaster, & did 25 reps for lower back strenghtening & 25 reps pull with 40lb. I'm pooped!

Ok, I went back & read all the posts today so here are a few replies:

Deb, both MM were really great & applies to me personally for sure! The Probably & Possible. My attitude lately had been one of self pity & defeat but that has changed. My attitude now is that I have made this happen before & can certainly do it again because I want it! I deserve it & I'm going to obtain it because I have made a new committment to myself to exercise & get back OP. I am heading in the right direction again and even though I may fail at times, I will keep going in the right direction. As Idblond said in her MM, "A positive self-image is critical to our recovery." It's when we let our self-image get negative that we allow ourselves to fail.

Pancho, congrats on the SB paper you wrote for your class! Sounds like you did a super job on it! WTG!! Poor Britt, hope she doesn't have to give up too many of her favorites because of those allergies!

vmoore, hope your son Dylan is feeling better & that your visit with your parents go well. sorry I failed to put the names on the group picture. I will when I repost them in an online album. WTG on the 20 lb loss so far. That is great!

Jack-k, I do love your optimistic attitude! You go girl. That's why you are such a winner! You're walking & doing so much soooo fast it seems like. Sounds like you are trying to do too much too fast, but if the doc ok's it, then WTG girl! Sorry to hear that you need a patch job. Hope it's not tooo bad.

Beth, WTG on being OP! I don't drink enough water either. I keep trying but fail most days.

Heartmom, that's the right attitude to have. We must keep going. You can do it!

califgirl, Hi! so glad you have found the board. This is a great place to get info & encouragement. Buying that book will change your life. This is a wonderful WOE that you can live with.

BOB, glad they found your problem & got rid of that abcessed tooth for you. Hope it continues to improve.

cherylco , Did I miss something? You said "As a matter of fact, I usually have a basket of clothes on my couch in need of folding (It's hard to fold with one hand) and they always fold for me" Is your mom still doing SB? Haven't noticed her on the board lately, or did I just miss her posts?

chrisd, We have a curves in the next town & I was about to give it a try, but DH said we could join the health club down the road, so for a little more, we have a family membership there & we're both working out. I have heard good things about Curves, though. Hope you enjoy & get the results you're looking for.

Gator, congrats on getting down to the 160's & fitting into that skirt. How long will you be staying in France?

Lyn, hope your mammo went well & good report to come your way. Enjoy your DD's visit! Praying for Ray to go through surgery without any problems. Oh, glad to hear that you did not show a gain today!! WTG!! :D

Missy, The drive to Thibodeux is not bad at all! I had not been in that area in soooo long. Didn't realize that it was 4 lanes all the way (except hyw 20). Glad you had the day off today to recouperate. My dh couldn't get over the nice beads I had brought home. He asked did you make the ones you gave us or were they store bought? I need to take a pic of them & post it also. Working on getting the pics up. Hopefully as soon as I get this posted, I'll be able to do them.

Ashley, Phase 10 was lots of fun! Too bad we didn't get a chance to finish the game. I think I want to get the game for my GS & of course I'll have to play with them to teach them the game ;) Glad you liked the quiche. I think the recipe is a keeper. Will try to post it soon. Do you have a recipe for your jambalya? Is it on the board?

Shirley, couldn't help but LOL when I read your post out loud to Thurman last night & again as I read it today to get some replies done while I'm at work. Your posts always seem to lift my spirits especially when I'm down, which I am NOT now. :) I've been riding high since our partay. I am encouraged that I was able to abstain from some of the illegal stuff & although the scale did not reflect all the walking I've been doing, I do feel better because of it. I am still sore, but not as bad as Monday. I did go & work out tonight at the spa. I will try to type up the quiche recipe tomorrow at work & post it tomorrow night. Catch up on your rest lady. Can't have you run down. ;)

Colleen, So sorry to hear about all that you are having to cope with right now. Brant must be your son? Hope all goes well with his surgery & that the healing process will not be as painful as it all sounds. My heart goes out to you for your Bassethound. Although I am not a person to get attached to pets, I certainly can relate to the loss you must be feeling since you have had him for so long. Praying for you to have strenght in these difficult days.
][b]Country,[/b[ WTG on the 2 lb loss! Looks like the yogart is doing the trick, huh?

On a brighter note, my DD that lives in Dayton, TX called me a few minutes ago to tell me the wonderful news that her dh who has been without a job the past 14 months has just been hired & will start a new job tomorrow am. He has been at ITT in Houston to get a degree in computer tech & it has finally paid off. He's almost finished with his school, enough to land a great job. What a relief for everyone concerned. My poor DD has been struggling & trying to make ends meet, baby sitting, cleaning houses & the church, even started selling Mary Kay which is going really well, but sil getting a job will sure help. She had been concerned about loosing their home & has done all she could to keep that from happening. She is now

OK Girls, I have all the pics uploaded in an online album. Sorry I did not get to add a title/description of all of them, but did most.

Loved all the photos...thanks for putting them online and sharing. Ya'lls good times really come through in the photos.

Nat...if you cut your hair take a picture. I know the style you are talking about and it's neat. My daughter cut her hair a few months back and she was able to donate it to locks of love even though it was frosted. She just took a picture of the back of mine today. I'm trying hard to let it grow way out..it's almost to my waist. The bangs are growing out also but that is just scary. I don't like so much of my face showing.

Jack-K...I am so sorry that you have to have more surgery. Do you know how long you will have to stay in the hospital?

Melf..I am so happy for your daughter. I know that has to be a major relief for her.

Yellow...WTG not gaining any weight. That's a feat when you are having such a great time.

Trish..I hope I can get my go no where hinny to your part of Texas sometime and meet you. I'm almost a hermit...LOL

JackieO...it's probably water and will be gone after a couple days of flushing out your system.

Barbara..hope you feel better soon. ((hugzz))

It's past my bedtime and a good book is calling my name.

Night all..Love,
Crystle

Good Morning! My DH left about 5:15am and it's now 6, I couldn't go back to sleep, kept thinking I haven't been on board in a couple days and I missed you. A lot going on for me right now, but really good stuff! My Mom won tickets to the Live Oprah show being taped in Los Angeles on Monday and she's taking me! :dizzy: We are both very excited but can't seem to find anything to wear! The information they gave us was to dress in dressy clothes, because it's the Oscar Bash, but I don't quite fit into a 10 and a 12 is not quite right either. We spent all of yesterday looking for clothes, after I went to Church of course, and no luck. I did find a red blouse that goes with my leather skirt, but the skirt would look better after I lose a little more. But before we leave on Sunday, my little girl is turning 10 :o and we are having a pajama/waffle party on Saturday morning for her. She really won't be 10 until next week, but Worker's Comp has once again scheduled me for a hair folical to toe nail examination on her birthday, far from home. UGH! Oh well, I will throw this party for her, and my Dad will get me home as soon as the appointment is over (although it's a 3 hour drive each way). Did I mention I lost 2lbs

This week although painful, has been enjoyably tired. DH had 4 days off, so that means an awful lot of running around with him, plus all the stuff I just mentioned, but it's been nice to have happy stuff to stress about.

Now to all of you, I've got to read your posts and catch up! Last I saw were pictures of some fabulous ladies having fun at Mardi Gras! I'll post more as I read.

And I hope that it's at least sunny where ever you are. It's till chilly here, but supposed to be in the 50's this weekend. The building I work in has no heat this morning, so here I sit and type with my coat on. I'm lucky the server didn't go down too. My intestinal problems have roared back. That's what i get for feeling better and actually eating dinner last night. I barely ate a little cereal this morning, and am sipping some hot tea. I have peaches for later(in the can, no sugar added). I will probably go home early too. This is the pits!
I managed to walk 2 miles on the treadmill last night, but definitely not with my usual vigor...and I had hoped to give blood tomorrow, but that may wait until next week.
The scale was the same yesterday, although how that's possible after all the non-eating I've been doing, I just don't know...but at least it didn't go up.
Have a great day everyone!

VMoore: I know what you mean about breaking into the 170's, I have read on to see how you did on WIW, but either way you'll be there soon and into your new pants! Way to go on WIW! 20lbs in 7 weeks is incredible! You are doing great!

Crystal: Thanks for the vote of confidence. Way to go on losing 2lbs!

Country: Snakes! Yikes, I'm such a chicken I would have probably run the other way  I'm glad you had such a nice weekend.

Mary: Sounds like you all had a good time and the pictures are fun! It's nice to have names and faces together in my mind. Thanks for reminder. I've been making better choices this week and it showed in the scales. It's good news to hear that your SIL got a job.

Nat: I would love to read your paper, would you email it to me? ldblond@hotmail.com If you can get before and after pics, it's really exciting to see the difference. I had a makeover when I was first on SB and lost my weight, wow what a difference! Now if I can just get back there.

Beth: ;) I loved your inspiration to me! Thank you.

Laurie: I hope this week has given you a fresh start.

Missy: Sounds like you had a wonderful time at Mardi Gras! Sorry to hear about your friend's Mom.

Tammy: Welcome to the board! It's nice to have another Californian to keep me company :)

Bob: It's good to hear you have solved your medical nightmare, I mean mystery, :smug: I'm glad you are already starting to feel better.

Chris: Good to hear from you. My girlfriend goes to Curves and loves it.

Gator: We're at the same weight! Congratulations on your loss! I didn't know you were going to France, how exciting! Is this your first time?

Lyn: I'm glad you had such a good time!

Shirley: Thank you for sharing with us, sounds like a wonderful time! Hope you recooperate quickly from your trip. Sounds like the 4 hour nap helped!

Colleen: I'm so sorry about your puppy and your son. What a weekend! Come on board when ever you're up to it and we'll be right here for you.

Cheryl: Hope your daughter tests negative, although if she has mono, maybe it's contributing to her overall well being? I'll be praying that it all turns out for the best.

Jackie-O: The weight will come back off as you come back on plan.

Jack-K: I was happy to hear they took that last tube out, but sorry that you are going to have to have more surgery. I will pray for you and hope it goes as smoothly as the last surgery. Look at you, up and getting so much accomplished so quickly!

Barbara: Sorry to hear that your stomach ick is back, stomach icks are the WORST!

If I missed anyone, I'm sorry. I promise to catch up with you sooner or later...it's now 7:30 and the girls are getting ready for a rainy day at school, so I need to help them along. Have a good day.

We sound similar.
I got married at 19, had 2 kids. Stayed home with the kids. Went back to school when I was 28 to get my BS in computer Science.
When both my kids were finally in school I found the perfect job that I loved (Internet developer). A year later I started having bad headaches, had 2 strokes at age 32. Found out I have a rare vascular condition called Central Nervous System Vasculitis. I gained 65 pounds while on Prednisone for a year. I was already 20-30 pounds overweight so that did not help! I've spent the past 5 years recovering from the strokes.
One bright star (besides not being dead) is I don't have to pay the 20 grand I ran up in student loans because now I'm disabled.
So here I am at 36 years old. We'll be married 17 years this May.
I'm back to being a stay home mom and I run a website for my condition and do the bookkeeping for my husbands construction business.
I started SB on 7/2002. Great way to live!

My left arm was affected by strokes 5 years ago. Good thing is it's still continuing to improve. Bad thing is I really don't have full use of my hand. The fine motor skills are not good. I can grab things with it but that's about it. So it's hard to fold clothes with one hand. I usually just sort them and the kids put them in their draws. But when my mom or MIL is here (which is often) they fold the clothes for me.
And my mom is still doing SB. Just not coming to the board I guess. Funny thing is the 2 lady's she hangs out with have lost weight because my mom is eating right! LOL
Loved looking at the pictures thank you!

Lucky you going to see Oprah!! She gives some great gifts to the audience!

I just read a book called Mary Hunt's Debt-Proof Living. I highly recommend this book! It's not full of bla bla finance stuff you can't understand. It's written by the lady who does the cheapskate monthly and was over $100.000 in debt and got out of it without going bankrupt. A lot of great ideas. I'm working on implementing this into my life!

It's only too late if you don't start now!

Good Thursday morning. I can't seem to keep track of the days.

Nothing exciting going on today. They have sent me lots of work to do. Many subcontracts to get issued. I was going to go in the office for a couple of hours, but think I will wait until Tuesday at least.

Bob, I know you don't like BB, but my Cats gave your Vols a good whipping last night. Wish they would play like that all the time. Hopeyou are feeling better today.

Deb, got that shed cleaned out yet? We are missing you.

Woodfrogs, Sorry to hear you have been sick. Hope it is almost gone. We have missed you. Tea seems to calm the stomach. Maybe try some crackers too. Feel better.

Trish, I said the same thing. If Missy & I lived close, we would be in trouble all the time. Guess I have to stay away from you too. Funny about the trampoline. I would have like to have seen that.

Pancho, thanks for the info. Now I will be reading other labels as well. Just remember, long hair you can pull up, etc. Short hair is usually one way and has to be fixed. Yes, it is only hair and will grow back.

Shirley, I haven't met you, but I agree, you are one heck of a broad. With all you do, you run circles around most of us. Glad you got rejuvenated and rearing to go again.

Melf, Whew! you had me tired reading about all that exercise. Good for you. The scale will move eventually. Headed to check out the pics. Thanks.

Country, it is out-patient surgery. Should only take about 45 minutes. So I am sure just a short while. I don't mind, but I hate those procedures where you are awake. They will use a local, but you still feel the pulls and tugs. Knock me out any time.

Missy, don't take out that hang-over on those kids.

Ldblond, let me know what you will be wearing to the Oprah show. I watch everyday. Wear something outstanding so I can pick you out. Hope the exam goes ok. That's a long way to go.

Guess I had better get started on all this work. Be back later.

Hello everyone:

I have been lazy this morning; I'm still in my jammies. I have to get a move on soon though since we have to leave in a few hours to get Britt to school. I plan to go to the gym once I drop her off. I still have no idea what to make for dinner yet. I'll probably stop at the store on the way home; that's getting to be too much of a habit...I have to start planning the week's meals ahead of time again.

Sef: Were you able to sleep last night after such a long nap? What I would give to take a nap every once in awhile. Even if I had the opportunity, I find it difficult to sleep during the day. I'm glad you got caught up on your rest. I told my DH last night that I will probably get my hair cut, and I got the response I thought I would...."why? When you get older, you'll want to wear it short, so why do you want to cut it now?" We have been together for nearly 12 years, and I have worn my hair long all of those years. It was to the middle of my back when we met, now it is well below shoulders, but much shorter than before. I pull it up everyday anyway, so no-one even knows how long it is. We'll see what happens, I've been known to chicken out before right before getting it done. I never thought of you as OLD!!

Melf: Maintenance is o.k.; you'll see the #'s coming off soon. What a workout you had last night!! Congrats to your son-in-law for finding work; that will take quite the load off of your DD. Thanks for the pictures.

Country: Why are you letting your hair get so long? Are you going to donate it too? OR, do you just like it long? I get tired of standing in the shower, condititioning my hair and trying to pick out all the tangles; it turns a 10- minute shower into a 20-minute shower. I guess I am looking for something easy, and that Lisa Rinna cut looks to be pretty easy to keep up and I could wash, condition and get out of the shower quickly. I have to have bangs; my forehead is starting to show those expression lines, and I'd like to keep them hidden ;) .

ldblond: Have fun at Oprah; it sounds like a lot of fun. Maybe you can let us know what you and mom decide to wear so we can watch for you. Is the Oprah show live or pre-taped? When will it air? The birthday party for DD sounds like a lot of fun too. Congrats on the 2#s!! I sent you a copy of my paper.

Wood: Sorry that bug is hanging on; I hope you feel better soon!

Cheryl: I re-sent the paper with a heading that you will recognize so you don't delete me again.

Jack-K: I know, I know....but I do pull my hair up everyday, and when I do take the time to style it, I don't even like the way it looks anymore. Worse case scenario...I don't like it, and I let it grow back. I got more excitement out of Britt than my DH. She started screaming, "I don't want you to get it cut, I don't want it to be short....." Oh well! Have a great day!

Better go wash face, get dressed and get going.

Have a wonderful SB-legal day!!!

Take care,
Nat

Hi everyone - sorry I have been MIA lately. I have been working on my Relay team and getting donations and working on fundraising events. I forgot to mention before, if anyone is interested in looking for a Relay in their area, they can check out the website for the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org) and then click on the Relay For Life symbol and you can punch in your area code and then a screen will come up and show you where the closest Relay is to you.

I just have time for a few quick replys and hope to do more either tonight or tomorrow . . .

Colleen - So sorry about your son and your dog! How terrible. I hope that all goes well with your son's surgery and that you can find the strength that you need for your dog. We lost our Golden Retriever a few years back to "twisted stomach" and it broke our heart - we cried for two weeks straight. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers . . .

JACKK - Sorry to hear about your surgery! That stinks - but better to get it all straightened out now before you need to go back to work. Hope DH is doing well also.

PANCHO - I took the brave step about 13 years ago to cut my hair off and it was the best thing I ever did. Right now I have the haircut that you mention (although you can't see it in my picture b/c I had blow dried it differently that day), but use to wear it even much shorter than it is - kind of like Princess Di. I got more compliments when I cut my hair short then any other time I changed it. You should go for it - remember, it is only hair and it will grow back.

VMoore - Congrats on the weight loss!

BOB - Glad to hear that you found the "root" of your problems. Thank goodness you got that nasty tooth pulled. I'm sure you are feeling a hellauv a lot better!

Congrats of all the other losers. I have to get back to work - hope everyone is doing well -

Hi again,

I have been sitting in front of this computer all day. I'm tired. Got lots of work done but have lots more to do. Tomorrow is another day.

DH is going to church tonight to help cut fish for our weekly fish fry. So another friend and I are going to dinner.

Tomorrow I have to go to the oncologist to have blood work done. We will go to the fish fry. We always worked them, but I won't for awhile and DH will. I will just socialize all night.

Pancho, I don't mind cooking if someone would tell me what to cook. I used to make everyone take a day and say what they wanted. Now it is just the 2 of us. If I tell DH it is his day, he says eat out. Maybe I should make everyday his day. I end up having the same things each week.

Suzy, we understand you MIA. The Relay is lots of work. A guy at work does it each year. A worthy cause.

Have a great evening.

Glad to hear that everyone had such a good time! The pictures are wonderful, and the stories are even better!

I'm better today, but with all this rain, my sinus's are acting up "for real" and the pressure is tremendous!

This is a DRIVE BY so it will be short.

JACKIE...sorry to hear that you're not healing well...do they have an oxygen chamber? That works every time..
Believe it or not, KATE pulls for THE CATS during BB season...so I heard the game from her mouth! Feel better..and let us know about your procedure.

Hello again:

The board is pretty slow today. I hope everyone is doing well.

I got to the gym today and got a good workout in; I needed it...it was a stressful morning around here.

I went to Trader Joes and found a multigrain pita chip. They are made with stone ground whole wheat, so I am excited. I also got Trader Joe's brand Flax chips. They do have corn in them, but they also have flax seed & soy...so much that it brings the carb count down to 8g/serving. A serving is 15 chips and they are large. I am all for anything with the extra flax in it. They only have 1 gram of saturated fat; the rest is the good fats (mono & poly). I am going to keep them on hand...they are delicious!

Suzy: Thanks for the info. on the cancer website; I'd like to look into it one of these days; cancer touches so many families, unfortunately. Thanks for the advice....I hope to take it. I don't know if I would like my hair cut short or not, but I won't know unless I do it. I can always grow it back out, but I always tell myself the same thing Jack-K said, "at least with long hair you can pull it up when you want." I'm such a chicken. We will see what happens next Saturday, but I am pretty sure (90%) that I am going to take that step. Your hair looks good in your picture; although the picture is small.

Jack-K: I wish I would've married your DH ;) . I never can talk my DH into going out for dinner. Maybe when the kids get older, he will be more open to it.

DH & I plan to go see Sean Hannity next Friday night; it s/b interesting. For those of you who do not know who he is...he is a talk show host (2nd top rated show in the country, apparently). He usually has a lot of surprise guests (some country singers). It s/b a fun night out.

I was given some info. from a mom in our Mom's Club for a Parent's Time Out nanny & babysitting service. I am going to check into it. They apparently are the "official" service for the Arizona Diamondbacks, and have great references. I can't afford a nanny, but would like a reliable sitter once in awhile.

Well, I better go get dinner cooking!

Take care,
Nat

Hey friends

Just a fly by! Imagine that...

JACK-K: Girl....I'm so sorry to hear about the surgery. Do you think it isn't healing properly because you are doing so much? You are such a trooper...keep your chin up and everything will be just fine. We sure missed you this past weekend..it just wasn't the same without you! Take care and keep us posted!

BOB: Hope you feel better soon!!!

EVERYONE: Ok..I talked to DEB tonight to see what was happening with her. She is just a busy bee with getting moved into her new storage. She has been working non stop there moving and straightening all of her stuff out! So, she says hello to everyone and misses you all! She said she may not be on until Monday or Tuesday..until then...just know she is ok and working her arse off!!

Well, have a great evening!

Just a quick hello tonight. Stopped off at the spa, so did not make it home till 9pm. Long day, but it was worth the longer stay at the spa. The owner is also a personal trainer & she worked with DH & I tonight to show us some of the machines that would benefit us the most. Did my usual on the TM, 2 miles on the bike, plus the machines. I'm pooped.

Glad everyone liked the pics.

I won't be posting the next couple of days cause I'm heading for Shreveport in the am to Women of Faith Conference & won't be back till Sat night late, so hope all have a great week end! Stay OP! I plan to!! :D

Just little ole' me again; where is everyone at?

It is raining here today; you will never hear me complain about that.

My DH was sore yesterday after doing the Ab Scissor on Wed. I begged him for it, and he will be the one with the cut abs when all is said and done. He doesn't have any fat reserve on his stomach like I do. I wish he could have gone through one of these pregnancies. The instructions say to work each area for 30 seconds, with 30 seconds rest in between....front for 30 seconds, rest, right side for 30 seconds, rest, left side for 30 seconds, rest, and back to front for another 30 seconds, rest. Well, he is on the 3rd resistance level (there are 5), and he is doing 1 minute per group. I am on level 2 and doing 40 seconds on each group. We will increase on each level before increasing the intensity level, that way it lasts longer, and we don't top out on the highest resistance level too soon. I don't have to worry about that! My stomach muscles are weak, and I am anxious to improve them since it will help my lower back pain as well. We are only doing it every other day. I will let you all know how we do when our first month is over.

My DM and I will be going to Whole Foods today, if she doesn't cancel on me due to the weather; she doesn't like the rain....I love it!

Deb: Glad to know that, although busy, you are doing fine. We look forward to hearing from you in the next week or so.

Melf: Have a safe trip and enjoy yourself...you'll stay OP. Great job on the exercising...keep up the good work.

cheryl: I'd have to check the reference again, but I think I got that 25 gram rule from Rissa's site. Glad you liked it...I really didn't plan to get an A out of it. I have another test again week after next!

Well, Lane is in her crib, calling for Mommy....that would be me, so I better run.

Have a great day, ladies!

Good afternoon ladies.

The boards are really slow this week.

Had a busy morning, just getting ready. The phone kept ringing. I wanted to dust the house. Got 3 rooms dones. Going to finish my bedroom after this. A friend brought a fish sandwich to me for lunch. VIsited with her then off to the oncologist to get my labs done. That was a trip into reality. Even though I have my labs done bi-monthly, this was just different. I guess I really haven't thought about the big "C" until today. The wainting room was full of older people, which upset me being the youngest in there. PLus lots of people with no hair. Just makes it all hit home. I was feeling low so I stopped and got a SFmilkshake and drowned my sorrows in that. Got home and took about a mile walk.

Bob, hope those sinus' clear up soon. Enjoy your weekend and feel better.

Pancho, I don't blame your DH for not wanting to eat out with kids. When they are older he will probably feel differently. I think Sean Hannity is too cute. We watch Fox news practically all night. DH is a hugh O'Reilly fan. Enjoy it.

Fruit, I don't think the bad place is from doing too much. Thanks for the update on Deb.

Melf, have a fun and safe trip.

VMoore, have fun visiting with your parents.

Going to the fishfry with DH gets home. All our friends are going Karoke, but I'm afraid it will be too smokey for me to be there. Plus he wants to go to the UL ballgame tomorrow so I better rest up.

Will check in sometime over the weekend. Have a good one.

This is just a drive-by post. I'm exhausted from working and gonna go! Just wanted to touch base and let everyone know I'm ok, and I hope you all are too!!!

Bye!

Wow, I feel like I am posting to myself lately  . Went to Whole Foods today with my mom and they were out of Agave syrup...that was one of the main things she wanted to get. I will have to order some more; they seem to always be out of the light stuff. I spent $130; I guess it can always be worse.

I plan to get to the gym tomorrow a.m. & do the Ab scissor on Sunday, so I'll get my exercise in.

vmoore: Good luck to DH; that must be very stressful for you both. Enjoy your parents!

Jack-K: This house needs dusting so bad; I plan to do a lot of it this weekend. So sorry you had that sudden dose of reality; it must have been tough. There are many people younger than you that get cancer too. My mom got it when she was 38, and my SIL is only in her mid 30's, and was just recently diagnosed. I think we will continue to see it more and more in younger and younger people; we live in such a polluted environment and so many cancers are due to environmental pollutants. It is so sad, but true. Please try not to get discouraged; you have been so strong, and will continue to need that strength and courage as you continue on this journey. You will continue to be in my prayers. How is DH's leg?

Beth: Way to stay OP!!! You go girl!!

Well, better go decide what to make for dinner.

Take care!

HiedeeHo All!

Can't believe Thursday is gone and it's Friday! Sometimes I can't keep up with the passage of time. I was thinking I hadn't posted since Thursday and then looked at the calendar and the 25th was Wednesday. I don't know what I thought today was!

Thursday I went to NH and then in the afternoon to another one to entertain. The next time the Joyful Noise entertains it will be Monday and March already! Time to do St. Paddy's Day music. In fact I just received the program. There are 11 Irish tunes on it. Six that are not and six TBA. Plus a closing hymn. A really full program.

Today as you know is wash day, didn't do any cleaning. Went to P.O. Also fixed a pair of jeans for GD, her butt was hanging out toooo much! I know that's the style but there has to be some modesty! Actually I hate repairs, would rather make a whole new article than mend one hole.

Simple supper. Stewed some chicken breasts with onion, celery, mushrooms. Sift a little WW flour over top and let them simmer. They come out so tender and tasty.

Just realized I didn't do HFH minutes. I hate that! HArd to read my scribbles when the subject has left my brain!

Tried to call Deb last night and no answer. I thought she had an answer machine so redialed and still no answer. Maybe it was off or full. Will try tonight.

MELF: Oictures are great. Printed them out and put them in an album. I'll have to title it "My Sugarbuster's Album", I'm sure there will be other gatherings and pictures! You did a great job. My four hour snooze Wednesday seemed to revive me. You know the scale will go down! Glad I can make you laugh! Hope you enjoy the conference.

FRUIT: How was school? Retirement is nice! Of course, I still had volunteer obligations.

LDBLOND: Let us know what day you'll be hobnobbing with Oprah and how we can recognize you. You must take notes so you can give us all the details. I hope it is one of her big give-away days! Take an extra pill before you go!!!

WOOD: God Bless You! Even with a stomach that was not good, you still did the TM! Girl you rock!

JACKK: Glad you are waiting before heading back to the office. You have been doing so good, would hate to have the bottom fall out. I think you could be in my Broad Club! Surprising how sitting can be tiring! You may have been down going for your labs but you took a positive approach. There will be other times when reality and gloom will loom, but you will overcome it. I admire you for your attitude. You did not mention how your DH is doing.

PANCHO: I am really not a nap person, although now that I'm older (there I go again! but that's a fact!) I do find it easier. I tell the young women that I paid my dues. I raised two kids, built a house, canned, Cub and Girl Scouts, etc. All the things you are doing now. When you reach my age you can take a nap whenever you want! You will have earned it!! And yes I was able to sleep like a log after the nap, so I guess your body tells you what you need. Wish we had a TJ's around here. I loved going to the one in Baltimore area. LOL Mommy, that would be me, loved it!

SUZY: You are certainly busy. It does take a lot of time to organize something but I can tell you feel the return is worth it!

BOB: Good you are feeling better.

V: Know what it's like to be on tetherhooks wondering about job status. Can only offer prayers. Would like to see Passion but have a hard time handling people being intimidated or abused. Don't know if I will see it or not. Confession is always good for the soul.

BETH: WTG being OP!

Have reached the end of the posts! Friday and only six pages.

CIGARETTES AND TAMPONS * *

A man walks into a pharmacy and wanders up and down the aisles. The sales girl notices him and asks him if she can help him.

He answers that he is looking for a box of tampons for his wife.

She directs him down the correct aisle.

A few minutes later, he deposits a huge bag of cotton balls and a ball of string on the counter. She says, confused, "Sir, I thought you were looking for some tampons for your wife?

He answers, " You see, it's like this, yesterday, I sent my wife to the store to get me a carton of cigarettes, and she came back with a tin of tobacco and some rolling papers; cause it's sooooooooooo much cheaper.

So, I figure if I have to roll my own ........... so does she.

Barbara Walters was doing a documentary on the customs of American Indians.

While touring a reservation during the documentary, she was puzzled as to why the difference in the number of feathers in the headdresses.**So she asked a Brave why he had only one feather in his headdress and his reply was, "only have one**woman**-- one woman, one feather."

Feeling the first fellow was only joking, she asked another Brave. This Brave had two feathers in his headdress, and he replied, "me have two women -- two women, two feathers."

Still not convinced the feathers indicated the number of sexual partners involved, she decided to interview the Chief.**Now the Chief had a headdress full of feathers, which, needless to say, amused Ms. Walters. She asked the Chief, "Why do you have so many feathers in your headdress?"

The Chief proudly pounded his chest**and said: "Me Chief, me sleep with em all.**" Big, small, fat and tall - me sleep with 'em all!".

Horrified, Ms Walter stated. " You ought to be hung."

The Chief said "You Damn right, me hung like a buffalo, long like a snake."

Ms. Walter cried,**" You don't have to be so hostile. "

The Chief replied: "Hoss-style, Dog-style, Wolf-style, any style, me sleep with 'em all."

With tears in her eyes, Ms Walters cried, "Oh, dear."

The chief said: " No deer. *** too high, run too fast."

Left brain - right brain

This is soooo stupid but true... and it's going to drive you crazy!
*
While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles.

Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand.

Your foot will change direction, and there's nothing you can do about it.

Marriage (Part I)

Typical macho man married typical good-looking lady and after the wedding, he laid down the following rules: "I'll be home when I want, if I want and at what time I want and I don't expect any hassle from you. I expect a great dinner to be on the table unless I tell you that I won't be home for dinner. I'll go hunting, fishing, boozing and card-playing when I want with my old buddies and don't you give me a hard time about it.* Those are my rules. Any comments?"

His new bride said, "No, that's fine with me. Just understand that there will be sex here at seven o'clock every night... whether you're here or not."

Marriage (Part II)

Husband and wife had a bitter quarrel on the day of their 40th Wedding anniversary!

The husband yells, "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, 'Here Lies My Wife - Cold As Ever.'

"Yeah?" she replies. "When you die, I'm getting you a headstone that reads, "Here Lies My Husband Stiff At Last.'"

Marriage (Part III)

Husband (a doctor) and his wife are having a fight at the breakfast table. Husband gets up in a rage and says, "And you are no good in bed either," and storms out of the house. After sometime he realizes he was nasty and decides to make amends and rings her up. She comes to the phone after many rings, and the irritated husband says, "what took you so long to answer the phone?"

She says, "I was in bed."

"In bed this early, doing what?"

"Getting a second opinion!"

Marriage (Part IV)

A man has six children and is very proud of his achievement. He is so proud of himself, that he starts calling his wife," Mother of Six" in spite of her objections.*

One night, they go to a party. The man decides that it's time to go home and wants to find out if his wife is ready to leave as well. He shouts at the top of his voice, "Shall we go home 'Mother of six?"

His wife, irritated by her husband's lack of discretion shouts right back, "Anytime you're ready, Father of Four."

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Just got home from viewing THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST, and there are just twelve words to say about this account of the last twelve hours of Jesus's life. It's the most intense movie that I've ever seen in my life! If you haven't seen it, don't miss it. Yes, it's gorey, but you don't see the gore, you only see what the Roman's did to Christ. I didn't know that a scene from the resurection was in it. When they remove Christ from the cross and place him in Marys arms, the screen goes dark and it's a good ten seconds before the last scene comes on...there wasn't a drippy nose, a cough, a sneeze, a rattling bag....NOTHING!!! It was eerie...then after the last scene, everyone just got up and left...no talking...

Here are your movie picks for the weekend:

Bob, when i saw it the first 30 minutes were fine, the next hour and a half i had never heard so much syncronised sniffing in my life. No one spoke as we left either. Not one word. There were several still sitting in their seats praying, but not one word spoke. Everyone was speechless. It was extremely violent but the best movie I have ever seen.

Kate is at the beauty shoppe where she's getting her locks curled! We'll go back and get her in about an hour.

VALERIE...My Nephew works for B&W in Louisville. They too are awaiting an invitation to go to Winston-Salem...Isn't this just a bite?

WHERE IS EVERYONE TODAY?????

The movie THE MISSING was GREAT!!! Don't miss this one...it's a nail biter!

HiedeeHo All!

Not a good night. Although I am fine and feel great, I spent most of the night sitting on the john! No complaints this morning.

Not much doing, GD has a couple of friends here. One of them has a terrible hacking cough, don't know if it's allergies (if so, a place with 2 cats and 2 dogs is not hte place to be!) or the aftermath of a cold. They went o a concert last night at UNO Arena. Today they are off to some kind of fight, food, mud, whatever. That's why GD wanted an old pair of jeans fixed enough to be able to wear today.

Me? Took shower, made bed, watching skiing, doing nails. A very exciting day. Will do HFH minutes later and balance my checkbook. I don't know if I can take all this stress!!

Seems like the Board is really slow.

BOB and V: Thanks for the film review. I don't know if I could get past the gore and intimidation. I get really upset when I see some abused and threatened. Throw back to childhood I guess.

Will check in later.

Hello, everyone! I've been busy this week, so haven't posted. Boogie had pneumonia Tuesday, got a shot and some antibiotics and steroids. He's doing better now, but his cough sounds nasty. The ER doc didn't want to do an Xray on him because he sounded clear, but I insisted and sure enough, a Mom knows her child- the pneumonia showed on the Xrays. Anyway, then Friday we went to Jackson for his cardiac appt. He's doing well! The doc was pleased and even took him off a medicine he's taken his whole life. We don't go back until August! Very good news, and also, there was a possibility of doing a procedure in the cath lab to close his fenestration(hole left intentionally in his repair to allow pressures in the heart to flow thru and not get too high). But his fenestration is so small and not giving him trouble so it looks like we won't have to do that(Thank you LORD!). I'm been OP the past few days. Feels good to be in control again. BUT we went to the movies last night and I shared a medium bag of butter-drenched popcorn with hubby AND came home and ate 2 cups Carb Freedom(very good!) ice cream AND then pigged out on triscuits! I'm a little puffy, but for some reason I still weigh the same. Which BTW, is down to a new low of 167(YAY!). The only thing I can think of is that I've been eating smaller meals and salads besides what I inhaled last night. Oh yea, we saw the PASSION and it was marvelous! I cried until I had makeup running. Even hubby cried. We all applauded when it was over because Mel Gibson did such a wonderful job. You NEED(not want) to see this movie. Several people remained seated when over. I felt so speechless when it was over. Yes, it is violent, but it NEEDS to be. This is what the Lord did for US. The sacrifice he made for our salvation. We needed to be reminded of it. I could go on and on, but just go see it and bring some tissue.

My head is spinning I'm in such a big hurry, Mom will be here in about 2 hours and I'm not even packed yet! My oldest seems to be SUPER moody and it's because I'm going to Oprah and my littlest has an ear infection! Thank goodness my DH took tomorrow off to take care of the kids while I'm at Oprah. I will be wearing a black velvet dress and jacket my mom is wearing a bright red suit. The Oprah show airs live back east tomorrow. I tell you all about it when I get back!

HiedeeHo All!

Nothing unusual. Went to chruch. Our pastor and some members went to see the Passion and they recommend that all see it. I'm still on the fence. One of the YAH suggested we go.

CRYSTAL: Hope you're feeling better.

V: Will have to add you to my list of prayers for the job.

HEART: Hope the pneumonia is better. So happy that Boogie had a good cardiac appt. You're OP too, so things are going well. Sometimes no-nos don't show the next day.

LARA: I will look for you and Mom. I'm sure you will have a good time.

Will be watching the awards tonight.

This is me again...confessing...I blew it again! Big time! But...I was feeling crappy and got on the computer and looked at my horoscope on my homepage and saw this..

Taurus
Try, try again today, dear Taurus. It can feel so terrible to "fail" at something, that you just want to hide your head in the sand rather than face potential loss again. Yet, if succeeding is important enough for you, you need to overcome embarrassment and fear. Most people have to try more than once to succeed - especially in the most important of goals. Don't give up on yourself. Your goals are worthy of as much effort as it takes

That is my Motivation tidbit for Monday(a little early) ...I feel a little better. I goof up, but I do eventually get back on track and do some good. Enough good that I've lost 110 pounds. So I have to look at the big picture. Sure I could have been at goal a long time ago, but the important thing is how much I've accomplished without giving up, even when frustrated. So anyway, tomorrow is yet another brand new day...
