Sorry to sound so excited but I need a weekend. Even though I work sunday night Saturday off sounds nice.
I THINK the scale will go down a lb this morning ( i hope) it looks good but have to wait till my normal time as I like to do it the same time each day.
I plan to spend some time in the recipe part this weekend I need some more flavour I think but still plan to stick to eating this way.
Hope everyone is feeling good today
Happy Friday to all

Mornin' All,
I'm pretty excited about it being Friday as well. I have a question for anyone who has bought 6second ABS.. Did you get a band with yours? I did the Total Body work out yesterday but I didn't have the band so I just used some weights I had. Leave it to me to cant find the box to see if it was supposed to come in the package or not. If not I guess I'll run to Target today and pick one up. I really enjoyed the workout and would like to throw it in my routine.
Ohhh what is that I hear? Not freezing rain.. not snow.. but RAIN.. yes real RAIN!! Yahoo!! Spring is around the corner!!
Well I'm off for another exciting day at work.. blah. You all have a great day and a great weekend!

Weather is beautiful today, we're above 0!! (34F I think) So it's sandles for me today, I love the first sandle day of the year, at heart I'm very much a foot nudist. Morning Trazzie!

Happy Friday

Good morning.

I am very excited this morning too.....1. it is Friday, 2. I am back down to 161 again! WOOHOOO. That means I have lost all but 1 pound of what I gained and I did it 1 week. No cheats for 4 days and this is what you get!
I can see the 150's coming. I even told my husband last night that this weekend we are to behave. No slippin in a few treats here or there and then spend all week trying to lose it again. I am determined to be down into the 150's by the end of next week. :crossed:

I have to go to a baby shower tomorrow so that will be a challenge. It is at 1:00pm so I may eat my lunch before I go so that I am not hungry and will not be tempted by the snacks I am sure will be there. The cake doesn't interest me....just the cracker etc. If they have lunch I am sure it will be sandwiches. So I will make up some tuna before I leave.

Well, off to work. Will check in with you all again later.

Jane--congrats on dropping the weight!! Good luck dodging those goodies @the shower!!!

Tummy--I think I'm the one that got hit with some of the weather you seen on the screen. We had hail when we got out of the GS meeting yesterday (5ish). Then it froze (of course), then it rained or hailed again last night. And now it's sleeting.

Trazzie: lucky you w/the rain!! I don't hear anything but winter still howling at my door!

jjcj: hope the scale goes down for you as well! Wouldn't that make an awesome way to start the weekend??

Well, we've got a 2 hour DELAY (not a cancellation mind you. just a stupid DELAY!! Are they IDIOTS?? It's nasty out! Not even a 4WD would do well in this junk!!) of school. And of course the girls are like "well mom, you could always keep us out of school like you did last time.". If they weren't whining and being obnoxious so much I probably would!!! But OMG to spend a day with them when they're behaving like THIS????? :dizzy: I'm not THAT crazy!!
I'm waiting to step on the scale until tomorrow morning and do an official weigh in. I'm hoping it's starting to go down again. That would be SOO nice. I think a lot of my problem is I'm not stopping eating when I should be. I make myself this HUGE salad w/some type of meat...and I eat it ALL. I'm not stuffed to the point of unbuttoning my pants. But my belly is DEFINITELY full!! I need to work on getting the salads smaller. I tried sleeping in due to the DELAY...but of course youngest DD comes into bed and saids "MOM!! WE NEED TO GET UP!!". GRRR. I look at her and said "If we NEEDED to get up wouldn't I have GOTTEN up?? We've got a DELAY, so GO TO SLEEP!". I'm growly in the morning ;)

Hope you all have a GREAT Friday and I'll try and check in this weekend :)

Brenda: I am big Tupperware person....I have more than I can count. So, my point is....I used to do the big salads too but when I started this woe I had to cut the salad down a bit so I use my smaller (soup bowls) Tupperware and make my salad in that. I am surprised that I am satisfied with that.
I also have meat or cheese of course but 1-2 cups of salad is fine with me now.

lady_adnerb
02-20-2004, 10:06 AM
Jane: I'm not sure what size the bowl I use is. Probably 2 C worth. Plus I add cheese and onions and tomatoes to it. So maybe if I cut it down to 1 1/2 C lettuce w/the rest it'll help.

YAY!!!! The idgets for school got a brain and FINALLY CANCELLED it! WOOHOO!! Now I've got to figure out how to drive on these roads to get my rings. I think I'll wait until tomorrow :(

Morning all!!!!
I'm happy as heck that it's Friday. No class for me tonight!!!!! Woo hooo! Got my test back last night and got a 97% on it soooo I'm pretty darned happy about that. My BF had great news yesterday and so he should be in a darned good mood when I get to see him this afternoon. I can't wait!!!
Jane: way to go on the weight!! I've noticed i'm not losing as fast as I used to but then again, I never used to cheat either (I'm clean now, I swear)
Brenda: It's raining here and still pretty warm. High of 45 today.... it sounds like you guys must still be pretty chilly up there. BE CAREFUL!!!

Had a meeting with my boss this morning re: the deposition last Thursday.... I have to tell ya, he is being such a peach. He laughed at me at one point when I said I wasn't necessarily angry with the lawyer at the time of the incident and he said "well you sure called him a lot of names" and I just looked at him.... horrified. I hadn't even realized I had sworn in front of him that afternoon. Thankfully he found it funny and he added that he had called the guy a few names as well. Then I said "Well, at the time of the incident I was in shock, the anger happened later." and then gave him a wink. I'm so glad he's being so understanding.
We start clinicals in my class next week.... I'm starting to get a little nervous. I need to find my uniform tonight when my BF and I go shopping. You know, I think my BF likes to shop more than I do!!! He's got a big interview coming up so I've got to pick him out an outfit to wear. He's so stocky that he has a tendancy not to look polished in dress clothes.... but he's lost quite a bit of weight on ATkins (started a week after me and has lost like 10 lbs more than me grrrrr) so I don't know how he'll look all dressed up anymore. I'm kind of excited to see.

Ok, I'll stop rambling!
HAPPY FRIDAY!! woo hoo!

Good Morning All,
I needed Friday YESTERDAY!!!!!!!! But I'm sure glad it's here now. I've been bad :( I cheated all week and I feel like doodoo (being nice here) but I'm back on track this morning and as always hopeful :crossed: I think it might be easier this time. I can't believe how awful I feel. It's like I haven't slept in a week and there is a rock in my stomach ....
Well, Friday or not I think I better get back to work before my boss walks past my desk

Jjcj: The weekends ARE exciting!

Trazzie: Glad it's rain and not snow or ice.

Tummy: I'm with you on being a foot nudist. I wear sandals 97 percent of the time, and I wouldn't have it any other way.

Jane: Congrats on the loss! You've really been doing great!

Brenda: It could be worse than eating a too large salad! Sometimes I get upset at myself for eating too many vegetables, and then I think, "That's insane!!!" So, I don't let it bother me all that much.

Shimma: Have fun shopping with the BF!

Linda: You can just start over, and you'll feel much better.

Well, it's Friday, and nothing exciting planned for the weekend. :( Oh, well. I guess that's OK. I think relaxing and cleaning is in store.

At Wal-Mart last night, I found all sorts of exciting LC things! Thanks to Jane, I found some delicious LC yogurt -- peaches and cream. It was heavenly! I also found all sorts of Atkins products -- everything from BBQ sauce to cookie mixes. I also found a carrot cake mix (Carb Sense, I think?) that I was very tempted to get, but didn't. And, for the first time in a very long time, I went down the bread aisle to find LC bagels and bread. I was very tempted on the bagels (7 carbs) and the bread (3 carbs), but figured I could live without them. Although, I don't want to... But, I don't need to add a 7-grams-of-carbs item to my menu right now.

Hope everyone has a great Friday and weekend!

Take care,
Jina

FRIDAY! FRIDAY! YAY!!! THANK GOODNESS! :D

I just got back frm tanning and going to the gym. I've gone to exercise 4 days this week. It makes me feel so good. I swear, I hope I'm on a NEW CHAPTER with my weight loss.

Sounds like most of you are having COLD, WET weather. I hate to be the bearer of GOOD news. . . BUT it is beautiful here in NC . . going to be b/t 68 & 72 today.

I have a good case of SPRING FEVER! Spring is in the air and I'm wearing SOME CUTE LITTLE CLOTHES THIS SUMMER. . at least by July 2nd!!!

I have gone 4 FULL days w/o cheating. :D I'm still down the 2.8 so I'm going to continue. Today is Day 5 w/o cheating. . YAY ME! Sometimes when the scales moves back up for no explained reason I find that I just want to go and drown my gain in BAD FOOD! :cookie: :cookie: LOL.....I know.......I know........one must take control and I seem to have done that. It is so easy TO LOSE control. :?:

HAVE A GREAT FRIDAY and a great weekend, and I'll check back sometime over the weekend.

Hey everybody! I am definitely on the TGIF party! The skies here are clear and blue and I'm just raring to get out and start my weekend!

This morning, the plan was to come into work at 6. I woke up at 7:30 with a pain in my hip. I rolled over and discovered I was laying on my cell phone :o I use it for an alarm clock and must have picked it up, turned it off and gone back to sleep this morning. I'm such a dorkwad :dizzy:

Glad almost everyone is doing good!

Great job on the test, Shimma!

Jina - those bagels are sooooooooo yummy! But I only like them toasted. I keep some cinnamon raisin ones (9 grams!) in the freezer for very occasional use. I'm gonna go get some of the yogurt today. :D

Brenda - hang in there, baby! Spring's on it's way! (maybe it got stuck in the snow... )

I never worry about the veggies. Not even on induction did I measure them. I eat huge salads, use at least 3 cups of spinach when I steam it for myself, munch on celery sticks and orange bell peppers.... you get the picture.

 everyone! I need to get some work done. TTLY!

I forgot to mention the most exciting part of all!!! After watching me do this whole healthy eating and exercising thing for the past 7 months, DH told me that he is starting Atkins and Pilates March 1!!!! I just about fell out of my chair! I haven't asked him to join me, but I have been telling him that I'm concerned about his apparent disregard for his health. He eats like crap and exercise is non-existant. No thought to nutrition or what his body really needs. And now he wants to change all that! Ohhhhhhhh, I'm so excited!

StarPrincess: YEAH about your husband. That will be great to have him join you. My husband is so skinny.....he has high cholesterol but he is very careful about what he eats....except for Brigham's Vanilla ice cream. He wants to start working out and I wish he would join with me but he doesn't want to work out with me. I told him "don't worry...I'm not going to bother you" I figure he can do the nautilus machines and I will do the treadmill and some classes.....and apparently BOTHER other people. :D

woo hoo Star! Way to go on being such a huge inspiration on your DH!!!!!! That's got to be a great feeling.

I'm all sorts of pumped right now because my boss and I just got together and rewrote the affidavit that our lawyer wrote for me..... the lawyer's version made me sound like I was 12.... my boss and I are pretty proud of ourselves right now. Yay! I'm so glad I have such a supportive boss!!

I'm glad it's Friday too! This has been a slow...stressful week for me. Tomorrow is my sister-in-law's baby showeer so I'm looking forward to that.

My best friend got engaged last night. I'm really happy for her! THey want to have the wedding sometime this summer. I'm one of her maid of honors, so I need to lose some serious pounds before then!

I weighed myself today and I gained 2 pounds again...I almost wanted to cry and give up but then I remembered, "it's that time of the month Allison" SO, I hope I didn't gain any REAL weight.

I am finding Atkins to be a long journey for me as far as weight loss goes. I totally love all the great food I can eat and I'm definitely commited for life to this, but...it's slow...and sometimes I hate slow.

I have totally given up on all the fake sugars, including Slenda, for now. I think it's helping. We'll see next week when I weigh myself again.

Good luck to all you newbies! Stick with this WOL!

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! ANd, i just want to say thank you all for giving me such great advice and for all your support. I truely think this site has given me inspiration to keep going because of everyone! THANK YOU! :D

Yeah, Allison, I suck at being patient! Instead, I just try and distract myself. Closet spelunking always makes me feel better! I've kept one pair of jeans from my pre-atkins days and tried them on the other night. The fell right off me and onto the floor! No sticking on the hips or anything! It did wonders for making me forget that the scale hasn't moved in 3 weeks. ;)

My DH really is pretty wonderful :) The funny thing is while I was typing about his terrible eating and total disregard for his health, I realized that that used to be me. It was so strange! I can barely remember that girl.

jdoggmartin
02-20-2004, 04:19 PM
Allison: I know slow, too. And, I'm not the least bit patient. I'm trying, though. I have been fluccuating between the same few pounds for months! Argh! I try to be happy with the fact that I am making positive changes, but sometimes that just doesn't do it for me. I'm trying to realize that I will get to my goal eventually. No matter how long it takes.

Star: You and your DH are the sweetest couple. I love hearing stories about what you all do for each other. So cute! You've definitely got a keeper, and he does, too.

Trazzie
02-20-2004, 04:20 PM
Happy Friday! Work is over and now it's all play (ok I'm dreamin, still have mommy and wifey stuff to do)... My beautiful rain has turned on me  it's now sleet and snow. *sigh* and the fog is moving in so it looks soooo gloomy out there. So much for my spring wishes.

Brenda - take your weather back darnit!

Star - It's really great DH decided to join you. I really wish mine would, I think it would make this journey for me a bit easier. He was telling me the other night, gosh I need to lose some pounds, just as he shoved the last little bit of Fudge Round in his mouth .. MEN! But he tells me all the time that he's proud of me for sticking to this, even though he can tell it's not always the easiest thing to do.

Jdogg - Our walmart carries about 10 items for low carb and they are all the bars! I'm hoping that will change once the remodling is finished and it turns into a Super Walmart. I would really love a place to go that has a bit of variety.

Cat - Lucky you with the nice weather, would you mind blowing some of it my way? Good job on staying OP! I don't think my cravings have gone down much, I still long for all those nasty foods, but I have to admit it is getting easier to say NO!

Shimma - Sounds like things are easin' up on you over there, very nice you have such an understanding boss! Have a great time with BF tonight :) I'm doing some shopping of my own but I can almost be assured I'll be on my own..(which is nice too, sometimes ya just need a break from the family)

Linda - Your back on track now, you will be feeling better for you know it! Good lucky on the new beginning.

Tomorrow is one month for me since I've started Atkins. I really can't believe all the changes I feel in such a short time. So tomorrow I'm doing a special Weigh In day... and IF I have dropped at least one pound since Wed. I bought some Atkins Banana Nut Muffin mix and I'm going to make up a batch and have ONE.. the others will be donated to the bottomless pits surrounding me. That is my planned little treat for me, and I am just drooling thinking about it! I plan on staying on induction for a month or two more, so I figured this little treat wont hurt too much. I have followed all guide lines except for a few minor slips.. such as my tomato sauce steak and the jello/ pudding whips. IF I haven't lost at least one pound, this treat will be postponed until I have lost a total of 20. Is this bad of me?

jane8760
02-20-2004, 06:01 PM
Trazzie: Good luck on the special weigh in. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

Allison: I am the worlds slowest loser!!!! I decided when I started this woe I was going to stay with it for as long as it takes. I had about 25 to lose and I figure if I lost 1 pound a week I would be at my goal in about 6 months or so. Not such a bad thing. I will be happy even if it takes me a year.

Shimma: I keep meaning to ask you...you are teaching and going to school yourself? Going for your masters?

Catbird: Yeah on the 4 days no cheats! I am there too and feel very proud of myself. You should too.

jdoggmartin: Bagel :fr: did you say bagel? I am a freak for a good bagel.

Star: That must have been awesome with the jeans!!! I would love for that to happen. You are amazing.

I'm sure I forgot some so...........

I haven't had much of a chance to pop in today...they had more layoffs today so it has been a little scarey around the office. I am glad the day is over and I came away with my job.

I am off to try my darndest to continue with my cheat free days for the weekend....I am a little worried but I really want to do it. I think I can, I think I can......

Have a great weekend everyone.

Hi everyone!

Jane: glad you got through the layoffs with your job!

Hmm...I don't think I've been around for a couple days. Yesterday I had a big meeting and basically planned out the rest of my thesis work ... the next 4 months are going to be absolutely insane. It's really my own fault for not working harder earlier on, but this whole past year I've just been in a really 'not caring' mode - about anything you know ... like the extreme end of 'easy-going'. It's hard to get out of. Probably partly because I've already decided that what I'm doing now is not what I want to do later, so it's hard to really crack down and do the work.

Then today I went to do some tests, but alas, copious technical difficulties. I'm using really old equipment, so it's running a DOS program and I got loads of errors that I have no idea how to address. My command of DOS commands is limited. Basically I got about half of my tests done, but then the program wouldn't let me do any more. And it also wouldn't let me access the data from the tests that I had *already* done. So basically, I have no results for today.

And last night, I was up until nearly 3am marking assignments - it was so difficult to mark because *everyone* was doing things wrong - it makes it so complicated and frustrating.

The only thing I can say, is TGIF! My bed is calling me ... from across town.... :)

And I can look forward to going skating both Saturday and Sunday!

good afternoon ladies.... so happy to see everyone in such good spirits!! I am gonna say a quick HI and then i will be back...I GOTTA GO OUTSIDE AND ENJOY THE SUN!!! yippeee you gotta do it while it is here!

I am down 1 more pound today to 245!!!! I am so happy that is at least my 30th pound!!! I am not sure how much heavier I was than 275, so I just started counting from there, that was my last documented weight!! I feel soooooooo great! Work has sh*tty but I went to the gym and forgot all about the old people yelling at me today about their cable! First time that has happened! Crazy people act like the cable is life support! ANYWHO!! I am so happy to read all of your posts and see how many people we have now!! Its great and you all are such inspirations!

PS: did any of you watch Extreme Make over last night and get a load of that trainer that says Atkins rots your brain?? What a dork! His people probably would have lost ALL of their weight if he hadn't made them eat those gross yam balls!

Hi all!! I've pretty much vegetated w/DH and DD's today. We did venture out. I needed to return some DVD's, stop at the grocery store (needed more lettuce and eggs), needed a gun case (have to pick up DH's 22 from my dad's house and of course it's illegal to transport w/out a case), and then of course stopped and got my rings. YIPPEE!!!!! umm...I should have had the new ring sized a 1/2 size smaller :o it's not falling off or anything, it's just really lose. It's so GREAT to have that feeling for a change  I'm hoping this was the last of the crappie weather cuz I'm REALLY wanting spring!!

Hey Catbird---a fellow NC'er here (I'm just west of Raleigh)! It was a gorgeous day today (and yesterday, and tomorrow too)! Y'all don't begrudge us having this beautiful weather, ok, we've had our share of crappy weather of late ( and more on the way next week :S ).
I broke down today and went shopping, and bought a pair of .....drumroll please.....FOURTEENS!!!!! Yahoo! This from 22's and tight 20's when I started Atkins little over 6 months ago! So with beautiful spring-like weather, being off work, and buying the smallest pants I've been able to fit into in about 18 or 20 years, I'm pretty blasted HAPPY!!! Just had to share my landmark shopping day!

WOW twj! I would be dancing for joy if that were me.. Great Work! I just finally made it to a size 22 (tight 20's w/tummy overflowing) this past week.. your little story there just gave me more inspiration then you know !

Just got done with a 30min workout.. Dang! I must be the most clumsiest, most uncoordinated person there is. I know the moves, I watch these guys and gals do em no problem.. and here I am jigglin and wobblin.. stumblin all over the place  what a site I must be.. thank heavens I can't see me or I'd get more of a workout laughing my arse off.
