LOL  Yes, enjoying the day. There is a chance of some snow this evening. :( I'll post more later. Hope all is well! Donna dpadro 02-17-2004, 11:23 AM Good morning buddies  Jen - Great going on the threadmill :bravo: Its cool to find something you like to do as far as exercise is concerned. I walked in the park on Saturday, did the video on Sunday and bowled last night, so I think I'm doing okay. I tried the new ww dvd that my center finally gave out on Saturday. I like it - it has a few more different steps and moves than the watp tape and its a little more fun and more challenging - with the music etc. So, I'm gonna do that one for awhile. I still haven't tried the 3 mile watp tape, so that will be next, when I'm ready. Es- Did you try the ww dvd yet? How are you amiga? I hear we're in for some more snow tonight/tomorrow? YUK!!!! Sandy - I'm glad to hear that Greg is feeling a little better. Slowly, but surely. Hi Terri - How are you guys doing? Is Britts still doing ww? How's it going for her? Hi Ruthie - How's school? Are you on break now? How are the gorgeous grandchilren? Hey Donna - how's it going? When is your trip? And where did you decide to go? Hi to ZoeGirl and Janie - Wish you guys would come in a say hi - we miss you! Well, gotta get back to work - talk to you's later. Hugs, Dianne dlzbth 02-17-2004, 12:28 PM Hello! All is going better. Still trying to decongest myself! LOL :dizzy: Jen, I meant to tell you that we have a treadmill also and they are great if they are used. I was fortunate to inherit one from my Dad who never used his so I didn't have to buy one and it is very good for when you can't walk outside due to the weather. Dianne, we decided on Nassau, New Providence Island and we are leaving March 3rd! I can't wait. I tried on a pair of shorts I've been wanting to be able to wear again for YEARS and guess what???? They fit perfectly!!! :dancer: :bravo: :encore: I was so happy. :) We didn't get the snow but the weather is still very dreary and cold. It is supposed to warm up by the end of the week. :crossed: I need :flow1: !! Hello to you all and have a great day! Donna points 02-17-2004, 12:44 PM Hi Guys!!! I hope everyone had a great Valentines Day. Bruce gave me a shopping spree because he has something big planned for my 45th birthday next month. I also got the Sting love songs CD and the candle from Victoria's secret that Robin was showing on Dr. Phil. Dianne, Britts is doing great. She lost 6 so far since we came back from Ohio. She is excited. She is giving up breads for Lent so it will drop off now. I love the High Intensity one on the WW DVD. The Moderate intensity has more workouts for the arms. Great loss Dianne. Do you realize that is 40 sticks of butter? Oh excuse me 40 sticks and and about a TBS of another. Can't forget that .2  Sandy, What a great loss. "Weigh" to go. Great workouts. I feel for your mom. I know I will want to live independently when I grow older but it may not be possible. Good luck to all of you. That is wonderful about Greg. I am so glad he feels happy. He is lucky to have you. Jen, WooHooo about the treadmill. I still love mine after all of these years. Way to go Joe. YAY!!!! ES, HI! How are you and the birthday boy and pups and kitty doing? I did the treadmill for 30 mins. and the Bowflex for at least 45 min.-1 hour. Got a Dr. Appt. at 1:00 I hate that. I will hopefully get on Synthroid. TTYL!!!! Jenny523 02-17-2004, 02:15 PM 35 minutes on the treadmill this morning. :) Sorry to hear those of you on the East coast are expecting snow. They're predicting 45 degrees here on Thursday and Friday...that's a heat wave! Everyone is stepping up with their exercise, that's great to hear. And so motivational. :cp: Es's idea of posting our daily exercise is a good one. Es, where are you? Have a lot of errands to run. I'm stocking up at the bookstore today in the event I can't get around after the surgery on Friday....it's actually a great excuse to buy books, my other passion besides food  ~Jen ole 02-17-2004, 02:31 PM I don't know if I am going at this the right way or not. This board is so differnt from what I am used to. I have this real need to lose the weight that I gained when I quit smoking so thought all of you maybe could help. Right now I am pretty lost. ole :?: points 02-18-2004, 01:25 AM Ole, Hi!!!!!!!!! We would love to help you and you help us. We talk about a lot of different things because it all ties into weight. Can't wait to hear more from you. Where you from? I am Terri and I am living in Huntsville, Al. right now. I have a wonderful husband, Bruce and three great kids Brittany, Brandon and Bradley. 17, 12 & 10. I lost 60 pounds in 1.5 yrs. slow but steady. I am now trying to keep it off. Jen, Yes. Great idea to post the exercise. Thanks Es!!!! Exercise is the only thing that keeps the plateaus away. Treadmill- 30 min. with different inclines and an avg. of 3.3 MPH. Bowflex- Worked every muscle. 45 mins. I am reading a book called Emma's Secret by Barbara Taylor Bradford. It is a thick book. I can't wait to figure out the secret. It has like 600 pages I think. I hope everything goes well with your foot. Enjoy reading. TTYL, Terri Jenny523 02-18-2004, 07:58 AM Terri, ouch, I was happy to have a speed of 2.2 yesterday on the treadmill! I am looking forward to increasing as each week goes by. I used to walk a mile in 15 minutes, so that's what...4 mph? Your average is 3.3, so you're doing very well. I know I'm in the "honeymoon" phase and it's new, but I really do love it. What's with the Synthroid, did the dr. prescribe it for you? My sister has been on it for years. Ole, welcome to our group. Congratulations on having quit smoking! Hope we hear more from you soon. Donna, Nassau will be wonderful. I bet you can't wait to go! What a great feeling to have those shorts fit :cp: You'll look good! Dianne, Does WW sell the dvd or is it given only to members? I would love WATP with only music, no talking....it gets to me after a while to hear the same things  HI  ES! SANDY! RUTH! ~Jen :tread: dlzbth 02-18-2004, 08:30 AM Welcome, Ole! My name is Donna and I have been following the Weight Watchers online program since mid-July. :bravo: On quitting smoking. I too have been down that road. This site is an excellent tool for encouragement and support and very important because this is not easy. Now, I need to tell you all something... I reached my GOAL today! :bravo:  :bravo: Sandancy 02-18-2004, 09:17 AM Hi Buddies, Welcome OLE Congratulations on quitting smoking, I think that is one of the hardest habits to kick! I hope you will join our group. We all struggle to find what works best for us, and find great support and friendship here. Jen, you are doing so great with the treadmill, do you use anything to pass the time while you are on it? TV or music? I listen to music with a good beat to keep up my rhythm. I usually make a mix of oldies rock to listen to on my MP3 player. Donna! Fantastic! You look mahvelous!Woohoo!! :bravo: :cb::cp::flow2::dance::cp::cb: Hi Dianne, Es, Terri, I just realized I have to rush off to take Greg to a rehearsal, I hope I can drop back in later. :grouphug: Sandy Jenny523 02-18-2004, 11:10 AM CONGRATULATIONS!!!!! TO DONNA FOR REACHING GOAL!What a great accomplishment. :encore: Sandy, I'm watching tv as I use the treadmill. During the day I can usually find an hour long rerun of Law & Order, etc., which keeps me engrossed in the story and the time passes quickly. Am out the door for a haircut...just wanted to pop in and say congrats to Donna. ~Jen points 02-18-2004, 11:40 AM Donna! WOW! That is great. Congratulations!!!!!!!!!! :cp: :balloons: :cheer: :bravo: :cb: Now comes the hard part. You can keep it off. Jen, How is the hair? I am coloring mine today. I got a little auburn warmth for it. I either watch TV or listen to my ipod while using the treadmill. As for the synthroid I have hypothyroid. He said this should help with my weight as well. Gets the body back in rhythm. I have to really work to keep this off. Maybe it will be a little easier. Hi Ole, Sandy, Dianne, Es and Ruth. Zoe, where are you? Have a great day girls. Terri dpadro 02-18-2004, 12:15 PM CONGRATULATIONS, DONNA - that's awesome girl!!! :bravo: :cheer: You must be on :cloud9: I remember how I felt 8 years ago when I reached goal. Great job! Also, congrats on getting into those shorts - and sounds like a great trip - enjoy! Jen - The ww exercise dvd was given out as a promotion to all members, which ended on 1/31. However, since my center didn't get the materials in until February - I didn't get mine until last saturday. It also comes with a fast track 2 week menu. I haven't done that part yet. Glad you're still in the honeymoon phase with the treadmill. How are your toes feeling - does the treadmill affect them? How did the haircut go? Terri - Too funny about the 40 sticks of butter plus a tbsp. I've never thought of it that way! I remember my old center used to have boxes piled up to represent 5 lbs., 10 lbs., etc. of lost weight. That was cool, because you could visualize how much you actually lost when you looked at those boxes. Britts is doing great - wish her luck for me! Ole- Welcome and congrats on quitting smoking - that's a huge accomplishment. Are you on ww program? Es, amiga - how are you - where are you? Glad we didn't get that snow they talked about :s: Hi Sandy, Ruthie, ZoeGirl and Janie  Well, Willie is leaving for a trip to Puerto Rico - he has musician friends that he's known since he was a kid and they are celebrating 30 years in the music business and having a huge celebration. He's been waffling about going/not going. I think he's worried about me being alone - cause I'm such a chicken - but I keep telling him I'll be fine. Anyway, when a couple of his friends found out he wasn't going, they called him up and talked him into it. I hope he goes - I know he really wants to. Alana said she plans on coming home this weekend, so I would only be alone for about 3 nights :yikes:  I'll manage. I don't want him to look back regretting that he didn't go. Well, let me get back to work - everyone have a great day. Hugs, Dianne points 02-18-2004, 12:20 PM Dianne, That is sweet that he was worried about you. I hope he has a good time. Our WW center sells the exercise DVD or the tapes by the levels. Have fun with Alana. I know you will. TTYL, Terri Jenny523 02-18-2004, 04:44 PM Dianne, The nights without Willie will go by quickly..remember absence makes the heart grow fonder! I would imagine you and Alana will have a great visit together. It is an occasion he shouldn't miss..what a cool event! My toe is not bothering me when I walk because my gym shoes don't bother it. They are a pair of New Balance that I discovered and love, and are the only pair of shoes I own that feel good right now; all my other boots and shoes hurt. I am not happy about having to miss the walking after the surgery, am hoping to resume as quickly as possible. I am becoming a bit anxious about the surgery, just wish it was over with. Terri, Hope the synthroid helps make maintaining a bit easier. I didn't realize it was 60 pounds total you had lost. Awesome :D I've always said you are our role model. ~Jen points 02-19-2004, 11:29 AM Jen, AWW! Thanks. I was 196.4 when I started. I have to try the New Balance shoes next time I get a pair. Good luck with your toe. I feel so good that I started taking it. I have to take it alone and an hour before I eat. So I take it at 6:30 A.M. which is perfect cause I eat at 7:30. Luv ya, Terri dlzbth 02-19-2004, 12:04 PM Dianne, I hope that Willie does go and that he will not worry about you being alone. You will have Alana with you and that will make it go by quickly. Jen, I am thinking of you for your surgery tomorrow. It's out-patient, right? I'm holding your hand in cyberland! :) ;) :grouphug: Thanks you all for all your encouragement on meeting my goal. You are right, Terri here comes the hard part. Well, let's just say another hard part. I don't get any flex points any more and have to watch the scales differently now for three weeks to adjust or not adjust my target points. I am determined not to mess 7 months of hard work up. I have a lot to do today. I hope to chime in later but wanted to send my good wishes to Jen just in case I didn't get a chance later. TTFN! points 02-19-2004, 12:29 PM Donna, How many points do you get a day? No flexpoints? I met goal before this flexpoint program and just eat according to what works for me. What are the rules now for the 6 weeks of maintenance and then lifetime? 7 months of hard work and a lifestyle change. This is it for life and it isn't to bad. ;) Terri dlzbth 02-19-2004, 12:44 PM Terri, I get 24 points a day. I am not sure about the maintenance time and lifetime it just showed me that three weeks I need to look at to see how to adjust my points and all to maintain the goal amount at least within two pounds. No, it isn't too bad but it's scary that I may screw it all up. :( Donna points 02-19-2004, 01:02 PM Donna, Did they say why you don't get flexpoints? dlzbth 02-19-2004, 04:19 PM If there is an explanation for that I didn't see it yet. However I was only able to have 20 points a day but did have the 35 flex points. Now, it's 24 and it isn't 35 more a week but it is 28. So, I guess it's almost like have 28 flex points instead of 35. I never used all 35 of my flex points before and probably averaged out about 28 a week so it may not be such an adjustment it just seems so when flex points is now zero. Does that make any sense??? :dunno:  Jenny523 02-19-2004, 10:17 PM Thanks for the encouragement... we have to be at the hospital by 10:30 tomorrow, should be home by 5. I'm determined to get in 30 minutes on the treadmill before we go. After reading the messages between Terri and Donna, I'm so confused! Obviously I'm nowhere near goal...however, I'm wondering...does the plan allow for a points allowance at goal...which doesn't use flexpoints? It sounds confusing. Hope everyone's doing well :D ~Jen dlzbth 02-19-2004, 10:48 PM Now, I'm the one confused.... I didn't have flexpoints on my online journal yesterday that is why I assumed they were no more... But today, I have 35 flex points! So, maybe I do still have the flexpoints as well. Sorry for the confusion. Have a good night. EsRios426 02-20-2004, 08:11 AM Hi:wave: Jen, I am so impressed with you! 30 minutes on the treadmill? Excellent!!! You keep that up & you'll be so toned by the summer. ;) I've been away for a few days & I see there's some confusion with Flex Points? I took off today so I'll be back this evening. The posts seem too confusing right now. I better have another cup of coffee! Hugs, Es Sandancy 02-20-2004, 08:44 AM Hi Jen, Thinking of you on the treadmill this morning before your surgery:). I will keep you in my thoughts today, hope all goes smoothly. Hugs, Sandy dpadro 02-20-2004, 09:42 AM I'm not even gonna touch those Donna/Terri flexpoints posts - way beyond my foggy brain this morning  I'm home sick with a cold, so there's no oxygen going to my brain right now :dizzy: Jen - just wanted to pop in and wish you luck with your surgery - hope you have a fast recovery and can be back on your treadmill quickly. Good luck! Hi, everyone, be back later  Hugs, Dianne points 02-20-2004, 01:37 PM Donna. That makes lots of sense. When someone is close to goal the points are lower (around 20) and they are used to them and when you hit goal the points are raised to 4 more a day and that is 28 extra points. It is also nice to have the flexpoints in case. 24 is about right to maintain. I do 24 points a day as a target and I have the flexpoints in case I need them. I usually don't use them. Thanks. Good luck Jen. :grouphug: Let us know how things went. We are thinking of you!!!!!!!! Terri dpadro 02-21-2004, 08:29 PM Hi guys:wave: Jen - How did the surgery go? Hope everything went well. Well, I'm 'HOME ALONE' :yikes:  I dropped willie off at the airport this morning - he called when he arrived in PR - said he had a good flight. Unfortunately, Alana did not make it home this weekend - Casey (her boyfriend) wasn't able to make it and she didn't want to drive the 4 - 4 1/2 hrs. alone. I didn't want her to either - with everything going on these days, I didn't want my beautiful daughter riding by herself for hrs. - I kept thinking of her stopping at a rest stop off the highway, etc. My mind goes wild sometimes. So, anyway, I was glad she decided not to come. Well, I've got a bad cold, so I've just been resting. Went to ww today - stayed the same, so that's cool. Then I stopped at blockbuster and rented a couple of videos - one is the Barbershop - it was funny and the other one is The Pilot's Wife - I have'nt watched it yet. I read the book a few years ago. I have a feeling I'll be able to stay up tonight for Sat. Nite Live, :p Usually I don't make it. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. I'll probably be back in tomorrow. If I feel better I'll walk in the park or if its too cold, I'll try the ww video. Hi Es, Terri, Ruthie, Sandy, Donna, Ole, ZoeGirl, and Janie (I haven't given up on you 2!) Hugs, Dianne Sandancy 02-23-2004, 09:34 AM Hi Friends, Jen, sending healing thoughts your way, I hope your surgery went well. Dianne, I completely agree with you about Alana staying safe, even if you will have missed her this weekend. When Dave drives home from college, I am always watching the weather forecasts, given the icy winter that we have had so far. I hope you spent some time pampering yourself over the weekend and that your cold is on its way out. I am sending you some cyber chicken soup to help. :chicken: :wizard: I hope Willie has a great week, I think it is wonderful to support each other's interests and passions. It will be a great reunion too when he gets home  We had a pretty quiet weekend, Mike and I are both contributing some sweat equity for the high school musical. He is helping to build the sets, and I am with the "Sew and Sew's" making the costumes. I love sewing, and haven't really done much in years. I was assigned the outfit for Mame when she goes south to meet Beau's family. So I am dressing her as a Georgia Peach (it is a Southern Belle ball gown in satiny peach fabric.) We spent yesterday visiting Mike's mother, we took her out for dinner. There go my flexpoints, but it was delicious. I had Sole Piccata and a glass of wine. But I have been exercising more, this week I was at the gym 4 times! Ole, how are you doing? Hi to Es, Terri, ,Donna, Ruth, Zoe, and Jane. :grouphug: Have a great OP Monday, Sandy Jenny523 02-23-2004, 10:34 AM Dianne, Sorry to hear you didn't have Alana's company for the weekend; your overactive imagination is perfectly normal as far as I'm concerned! Better to know she's not on the road alone. Take care of your cold, sorry to hear you're not feeling well. I hope you've spent some time in the tub, pampering yourself and enjoying your time alone. Good going on the maintain for the week! Sandy, What musical is Greg's school producing? It's wonderful that you and Mike volunteer for his school activities. That sewing project sounds pretty ambitious! Way to go on getting to the gym so much during the week! Es, I was very happy to see your post...was worried that you were MIA, or worse, disappearing the way Janie and Zoe have done! Please keep in touch. The surgery went well. I've got a pin in (and sticking out of) my toe, which will stay for 6 weeks...yuck I can't even bring myself to look at it. I also had an incision on the top of my foot; a piece of bone cut out and replaced with a steel rod and pins which will remain there. It's much more painful than I thought it would be....and I've got a high pain threshold. I am to stay off my foot as much as possible for this week. I've got a huge plastic ski-type boot to wear; can do weight bearing, no crutches, which is a good thing! I'm to wear the boot for 6 weeks until the pin is taken out. Once I get the okay, I'll be back on the treadmill :D already can't wait for that! HI to everyone! ~Jen points 02-23-2004, 04:29 PM Jen, I am glad you are ok. The 6 weeks will go fast. Just think how much better it will feel. Keep up with the weights. You will feel better doing that. Dianne, When will Willie be back? I don't blame you not wanting Alana to drive. My mom still doesn't "Let" me drive to her home (10 hrs.) w/o Bruce. Great job on the maintain. :cp: Sandy, 4 Times. That is great :cp: Way to go with the sewing. Sounds like a family project. You will be so satisfied when it is all done. Good luck. Brittany and I saw Grease yesterday. The traveling Broadway co. It was great. Frankie Avalon was the Teen Angel like in the movie and he did a mini concert at the end. I loved him in those beach movies. Still cute. TTYL, Terri dpadro 02-24-2004, 12:29 AM Hi guys: Jen - Glad to hear the surgery is over - sorry to hear its more painful then you thought. I know it must be hard for you to stay off your feet as much as possible, but just think how much better you will feel once the six weeks pass and you have "brand new toes" ;) You'll be back on that treadmill before you know it. Sandy - thanks for the cyber chicken soup - it was great  :bravo: on getting to the gym so often this week - great job! It sounds so cool - the georgia peach/southern belle type dress - I always thought those dresses looked so great - the only thing I figure I wouldn't like would be the corset that goes with them  Unfortunately, I realized today that I wasn't getting better even though I rested the entire weekend and that is pampering myself. So I went to the doctor and I have a sinus infection/upper respiratory infection, etc. YUK! Anyway, she gave me antibiotics, nose spray and claritin, so hopefully this will begin to work soon. I haven't been to work since last Thursday and she told me not to go back until Wednesday or Thursday, depending how I feel. Terri - too funny about your mom not letting you drive to her house without Bruce  - see how it doesn't matter how old your children get, you still boss them around :p Glad to hear you guys didn't think I was being paranoid about Alana driving home alone. I remember those beach blanket movies with Frankie Avalon, Annette Funicello and Fabian. I thought those guys were soooooo cute. Willie won't be home until NEXT Monday!!! :( Es, amiga - how are you doing? How is work and the points/police lady? Did she finally give up on trying to get you to do a weight loss program with her? How are susie and sammy? Well, gonna get back to bed - I'm not sleeping too badly considering willie's not here, but I lock my bedroom door - hey...........maybe I am paranoid........ Justin's supposed to come over and spend the night tomorrow - willie had called to ask him to spend some time with me, but I wasn't supposed to know that, :D Hi to Ruthie, Donna, Ole (are you still with us), ZoeGirl and Janie. Hugs, Dianne dlzbth 02-24-2004, 10:29 AM Wanted to check in. Jen, I'm so glad all went well and you are on the road to recovery. :cp: Sandy, you are motivating me to get off my tush and get on that tread mill! I used to sew, wish I still had the knack! LOL Dianne, I sure hope you feel better. I am right with you. I finally made an appt. with my doctor tomorrow. I think I have the same thing. I have put this off as long as I can but it isn't getting any better. Have a good time with Justin. Terri, the production sounded nice! I would of loved to see that. Grease is one of my favorite all time movies. Well, all have a good OP day. Donna Sandancy 02-24-2004, 10:09 PM Hi Y’all  Jen, I am really glad to hear that the surgery went well. You were wise to schedule it before the good weather comes. I remember you saying that you didn’t want it to interfere with time by the pool this summer. I hope your pain has decreased some by today. I bet keeping your foot elevated would help, less blood flow, less throbbing. If they gave you pain meds, take them, don’t try to be too strong. By the way the high school musical is “Mame”. You guys will be hearing about it for quite a while yet, the production is not until mid April. Dianne, I need to make more chicken soup tomorrow, Greg came down with the cold too. I hope your sinus infection clears up fast. Take care of yourself. I agree with you about the corset. The girl playing the part actually has to wear a waist cincher, which is basically all elastic, at least we don’t have to lace her up. She is a senior, and is probably going to major in theatre arts and production. It is really fun to work with the kids, they ramble from one song to another: musicals, rock, TV commercials. They just have such great energy and break into impromptu performances. Greg is continuing to perk up, he was writing a comedy routine to deliver at his next youth conference. Apparently it features jokes about dear old Dad and Mom (Mike and me.) Donna, How are you doing with starting maintenance? I am so far away that I cannot even imagine it. Are you adding back any extras? Terri, I think Grease is a really fabulous show. My brother’s 3 girls absolutely love it. They know all the songs and probably the dialogue by heart too. Es, Sweetie, how are you? Drop by soon, we are all missing you. :dunno: Ruth, How is all that studying going, and the workload too? Hi Zoe and Jane we can’t forget you are part of the :grouphug: Hugs to all, Sandy Jenny523 02-25-2004, 12:35 PM Hi everyone  I'm recovering very well; the pain is subsiding each day. Having kept it elevated and iced since Friday has done a great deal of good. I will see the dr. on Monday, and hopefully get the okay from him to be up and about. While I can tend to be a couch potato, this is the extreme! I don't know how some people can sit all day and not get achy/sore. Joe has been awesome...I could get used to this pampering  Sandy, I love the movie Mame, was it Rosalind Russell? Whoever it was, she reminded me of my Mom. It sounds like the kids, and you, are enjoying the production work. I am so glad to hear that Greg is on the upswing. It must be a relief for you and Mike to see him improving. Dianne, How are you feeling? I've been thinking of you. I don't think you're paranoid at all....when Joe is out of town, I bring my cell phone into the bedroom before I lock the door  Donna, I hope you're also feeling better. Does your ww online show the points correctly now? Terri, I love Grease! It must have been fabulous to see Frankie Avalon. What a blast. Thanks for the reminder about using the weights. Duhh...just an example of my "all or nothing" mentality. I was so focused on not walking that I didn't consider other exercise possibilities. Es, I miss you. Hope you're doing okay. :flow2: Ruth, How's school? Between your classes and job, you must be very busy. Don't forget us :( ~Jen Jenny523 02-27-2004, 07:43 PM It's really quiet in here! :?: Have a good weekend everyone! ~Jen dlzbth 02-27-2004, 11:37 PM yes, it is quiet! I find that to be true in another thread I'm in as well. We have had snow the last couple of days. My dh wrecked his car on our own street coming home from work because of the snow making that area very slick. He was born and raised in NJ and for him to lose control of a car from snow you know it had to be pretty bad. He is fine so that is the most important thing. Have a good weekend! points 02-28-2004, 03:07 AM Donna, I am so glad dh is ok. I know how you feel. Bruce's wreck is still fresh in my mind. Dang snow. Dianne, I looove those beach movies. I have most of them on tape. Monday will be here soon and Willie will be back. :cp: :dancer: :flame: Jen, I never dreamed being a couch potato could be anything but good. Hope you can get around soon. Sandy, I liked Mame. I think I saw one with Rosalind Russel and one with Lucille Ball. That will be so much fun for you!!!!! Keep telling us stuff. We like to hear. Hope everyone is well. Have a great weekend. Terri Sandancy 02-28-2004, 09:04 AM Hi Buddies:wave: Donna, I am glad to hear that your DH is OK. I cannot believe how much snow you have gotten in the south. We are pretty dry here for now, but you never know, 2 years ago we had snowfall on May 19th. Jen, I am glad to hear that you are feeling better. Have you been catching up on your reading? What are you latest good reads? Terri, It is funny about old movies. Ever since I was a little girl, I always loved the musicals and romantic movies from the 1930's. I have tapes of Fred Astaire, Clark Gable, Claudette Colbert, Myrna Loy and Jean Harlow. I used to imagine myself as a dancer, but I have these short legs that go with my barely 5 ' 3" height. Greg has been busy with the Dramafest competition this week. He plays "the Lover" in a surreal comedy called "A Simple Task". We saw it at the high school last night. Mike and I thought it was very entertaining and well done. The drama club kids are performing it at the competition today. Eight plays will be performed by various schools. It sure has been quiet on our message board lately. I had been dropping by to check in, but I was just too lazy to write anything. I suppose a quick Hi to each other is a really good idea, as it will encourage each of us to check in. I had gained last week during the school vacation, but this week I got back on track and lost again. I am now down by 13.8 since last summer. And I am only 2.4 lbs from reducing my target points to 24. Hi Dianne, Es, Ruth, love ya too! Time to make the costumes! Gotta go, I hope you are all enjoying the weekend. :grouphug: Sandy Jenny523 02-28-2004, 12:10 PM Donna, Sorry to hear about your husband's accident; it's always a relief to hear there were no injuries. Driving in bad conditions can rattle even the most experienced driver. Terri, Britts is getting much closer to graduation, she must be excited. Senior year is so much fun for the kids. I eloped with Joe two weeks after graduating :yikes: but, of course, we knew everything then  I've been using the handweights, it really is helping to keep me energized. I'm not going to get on the scale till this boot is off for good. Sandy, For some reason I pictured you taller. It's odd how we form mental pictures of people, isn't it? Greg sounds as though he's a talented creative actor. Perhaps that can account for a depressive tendency? with being sensitive and all, just wondering. It must be a thrill to see him on stage. Have fun sewing! I haven't done much sewing lately. I used to make all the kids' Halloween costumes, and some simple clothing for Jess when she was little. Lately all I've done is duvet covers, since I'm too cheap to purchase them! Dianne, Only a few days till Willie comes home.. I'll bet he's having a great time. Hope you are also. HI to Es, Ruth, Zoe!!! ~Jen dpadro 02-28-2004, 12:59 PM Good saturday mornin' guys: Donna - Sorry to hear about your's husband's car wreck, but thank goodness he's okay - that's the most important thing of course. How are you feeling - did you go to the doctor? Jen- How are you doing with your foot? Let Joe pamper you as much as possible  Hope your doc tells you everything is okay on your visit Monday. ES, AMIGA - WHERE ARE YOU SWEETIE??? I really miss you and I know everyone else does. Please come in and say hi - if you're not doing well, that's the best time to come here. Like I told you a looooonnnnnnnnng time ago, GET YOUR BUTT BACK IN HERE!!! :s: Sandy - Glad to hear that Greg is doing so much better. So cool about the play he's gonna be in. And :bravo:  to you on those 13.8 lbs. lost!! Great job! Terri - I used to want to marry Frankie Avalon  but it seems like he did fine without me - I think he has like 7 kids ;) What a cutie. I didn't go to work all week but I'm finally feeling better - human even :p I will go to work on Monday for 1/2 day and then I have to go back to the Dr. in the afternoon - she wants to see me and also talk to me about my blood tests - which probably means my cholestrol is still up - YUK! I don't take the medicine because I'm afraid of getting a liver problem, but if she tells me its still up, I guess I will have to bite the bullet and take the meds :( On a more positive note, I went to ww today and had a loss of 1.6 lbs :cb:  - for a total loss so far of 11.6 lbs. :cloud9: And of course, the best news is that Willie will be home in 2 days! I missed him, but I have to say that with all the job stress, etc. going on in the past few months, it was good to be away from the job and even family (hope that doesn't sound awful) for a week, even though I was sick. It gave me some alone time to just rest, relax, watch tv etc. I think I needed that. Okay, I don't write in a few days and now I write a book  Hello to Ruthie, ZoeGirl, Janie and Ole - hope I did'nt miss anyone. ES, COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE - DON'T MAKE ME COME AND GET YOU!! Seriously, Es, we really miss you :grouphug: Hope everyone enjoys their weekend - beautiful weather for a change here in NY - I think I'm gonna go out and play! Talk to you's later or tomorrow. Hugs, Dianne points 03-01-2004, 05:36 PM Sandy, Great loss. WEIGH to go!!!!!! That is wonderful about Greg. I'll bet he is so good at what he does. Dianne, WooHooo To you too. Great loss. Take the pills if you have to. We want you healthy. ;) Did Willy come home? Have fun. Jen, Britts is having fun. Senior year is fun. I love the fact you and Joe are still together. So cool!!!!! I am glad you haven't wasted any time away from each other. So cute. Bruce and I were together since his junior year in high school but we didn't get married until his senior year in college and I graduated. I shudder to think that we could have broken up. Well it was beautiful here this weekend. Bruce, Bradley, Tanner and me went on a 3 mile walk on the Greenway Saturday and yesterday the whole family went on a 3 mile hike at the nature trail on top of Green Mountain. 6 miles in 2 days, on the weekend no less. Feels great. YAY!!! I weighed in Sat. and lost 1.2. :strong: Zoe, Where are you? Hi Ruth, Es and Donna. Terri Jenny523 03-01-2004, 09:03 PM Dianne, By now you're probably welcoming Willie home...hope he had a safe trip. Having the dr. say she wants to discuss your blood test results can be stressful. If exercise doesn't help the cholesterol, I would guess the meds are the only way to go. Glad to hear you're feeling a bit better, hope you only worked 1/2 day today. Good going on the loss :D Terri, What a great walking weekend!!! :cp: That's awesome. And congrats on the loss! :D You're setting such a great example for your kids. I know I've said it before, but after they're grown you realize how much of what you did does stay with them, and they remember it and appreciate it. Went to the dr. for my post-op checkup today. Did I mention that he's the cutie (hottie)? Definitely a pleasure to go  All he did today was change the dressing; the stitches will stay in for another two weeks. He was happy with my progress, no swelling because I've kept it elevated and iced; said to stay off of it as much as possible for the next two weeks :( :( and continue to keep it elevated and iced. Jessica is turning 30 :yikes: on Saturday; we're having a small "surprise" party for her on Sunday. (I had planned it before the surgery, so now Joey is helping me.)The boys are staying here on Saturday night so she and Mike can go out; when they pick the boys up on Sunday, family and friends are just going to show up, like an open house, to surprise her. Oh, and Es? This is way too long for you to stay away. :( see you tomorrow, ~Jen points 03-02-2004, 12:31 PM Jen, Glad to hear about the visit with the hottie. Hope it goes fast. That is so sweet to do for your daughter. What fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I did Bowflex and the treadmill yesterday and now to the treadmill. TTYL, Terri dlzbth 03-02-2004, 12:38 PM I'm sorry you guys but this is not going to be very personal. I just however didn't want to leave without saying goodbye! We are leaving tomorrow for our trip and will be back on Sunday, the seventh. I'll post when I get home and I sure hope you all have a good week. Keep up with all the good work! Pray that I will not gain! :) Donna points 03-02-2004, 12:46 PM Donna, Have a good time. Terri Jenny523 03-02-2004, 03:16 PM Donna, have a great trip!! enjoy... ~Jen dpadro 03-03-2004, 07:56 AM Donna - Have a great time - enjoy and don't stress about gaining! Be back later "you's" other guys. Hugs, Dianne Sandancy 03-03-2004, 08:24 AM Hi Donna, Just in case you check in before taking off, I also want to wish you a terrific time on your trip! Sandy dpadro 03-03-2004, 12:24 PM Mornin' guys: My Willie came home - YAY! I picked him up at the airport Monday night and took him to dinnner - we had a very romantic evening, needless to say ;) He brought home beautiful movies and took loads of photos. Now, I will sleep better at night :smug: The doctor told me what I suspected - my cholestrol has gone up even higher than when I visited her last and did'nt take the meds. So, I'm now being a good girl and taking them :s: Terri - Congrats on the 1.2 lbs. loss and all that walking you and your family did over the weekend - terrific :bravo: Jen - Hottie doctor huh? Exactly what "dressing" did he change  Just kiddin' ya! How cool on the surprise party for Jess - she will love it and I know she will appreciate the babysitting for a night out. That's really sweet. My son Steven will be turning 30 in September :yikes: Justin will be 23 in June and graduating from Columbia University this May - I can't believe it! And my baby girl, Alana will turn 21 in April - 3 momentous occasions for my kids this year! Well, I'm feeling sooooooooo much better and I've been doing the ww video every day - except Sunday - I walked in the park. Also, I went shopping and I brought in several size 12 pants into the fitting room and they were TOO BIG!!! :p I had to go back out and get size 10 - I was very happy. When I re-started ww in October I was about to get into a size 14, so this really made me feel good. Also, when willie came home he said "wow" - he noticed the loss in the 9 days he had been away. I'm really motivated this time especially since I'm seeing and feeling the results. I hope I can stay that way. Okay, let me get back to work - Hi Es (amiga mia - me haces falta :( ) Sandy, Ruthie, Donna (you're probably gone already), Ole, Janie, ZoeGirl. Hope everyone has a great day! Hugs, Dianne Jenny523 03-04-2004, 08:15 AM Dianne, How awesome...size 10!!! Whoooeeeee :cp: No wonder Willie said wow when he saw you :D your exercising is paying off. Glad he had a good trip and is home safe and sound. ~Jen dpadro 03-05-2004, 12:49 PM Thanks Jen! How's your foot? WHERE THE HECK IS EVERYONE??? COME OUT, COME OUT WHEREVER YOU ARE!! Hugs, Dianne Jenny523 03-05-2004, 01:43 PM Dianne, I'm still having quite a bit of pain in my foot, more than I had thought I would; it's only two weeks today since the surgery, however, so I guess it's normal. I know I have a high pain threshold, so am just "biting the bullet" and taking ibuprofen when it's really needed. Meanwhile, I'm gazing longingly at the treadmill  The boys are coming today to stay till Sunday...and, of course, I can't wait! Haven't seen them in three weeks. have a great Friday! ~Jen Sandancy 03-05-2004, 03:51 PM Hi Everyone, I am here, but feeling a little down. Raising a teen is truly a roller coaster ride. My sweet little son is into some stuff that could be rather dangerous. We keep finding new evidence in his room. Shall I just hint at substance abuse? I don't want to get too specific. Apparently he wants to hide that he is still down, and is searching for a crutch so he can cope with his stress level. He and I are going to see the therapist this afternoon. Dianne, So glad to hear that you are healthy again, and that Willie is home after a great trip. Also congrats with your stick-to-it-iveness! You are really doing great on WW! Jen, Have a great time with the little guys. I bet they will take your mind off your achy toe. Hi Terri, Es, Ruth, Donna (on your trip), Jane and Zoe. Hugs, Sandy Jenny523 03-06-2004, 08:27 AM Sandy, I can only say that you're doing the right thing, by being there for your son...involved in his life and ready to do what it takes. Take care, :grouphug: ~Jen dpadro 03-06-2004, 12:51 PM Good morning everyone: Jen - Sorry to hear your foot is still hurting alot. Keep your eyes on the prize :tread:. Enjoy the grandsons this weekend and :hb: to Jessica. Sandy - Jen is right, you're doing everything you can to help Greg and it appears to me that he wants the help, so that is a good thing. I know its stressful, but try to keep positive about the help he's getting and the fact that you and your husband are aware of the problem and with him every step of the way. Well, I maintained this week and that's a good thing. I exercised every day and the same thing will probably happen like the last time - the loss will show up next week. Like I exercised the week before last and maintained - then last week I had a 1.6 lb. loss, so hopefully, the same thing will occur next week ;) Its gotten awfully quite with our little group lately - I know Donna's on vacation and Es is hiding (come back, pretty please with sugar on top :D ), but where are Terri and Ruthie? Not to mention, zoegirl and janie and Ole (but I think we lost her). I hope things perk up a bit. I miss everyone who used to be here :( Well, Willie and I are going to see "The Jessa" today - seems like we haven't seen her in sooooooooo long. I hope everyone has a great weekend and I'll try to come back tomorrow. Hugs, Dianne :lucky: dlzbth 03-08-2004, 11:59 AM I am back! We "blew" in last night. The wind was so strong in our area last night that it made a quite exciting landing which I could of done without thank you very much! LOL Anyway, had a blast! It is so very pretty there and when we left it was in the 80's. Come home and they are saying it may snow here tomorrow. Take me back please. I would like to say I did well maintaining while away but I can't. We only had two meals a day but still ... had some good tropical drinks in between! Where we were staying we were in walking distance to many attractions and we did a lot of that. Only laid out at the beach once! The pictures you see of the caribbean water do not do it justice. That is the prettiest water I've ever seen! I am so glad I had this opportunity to go. :) Congratulations on the size 10 pants, Dianne and also glad Willie is home all is back to normal. He was gone a while wasn't he? Jen, I hate that you are still in pain. I hope soon all this will be just a memory. I am going to have to have outpatient surgery on my elbow on the 22nd. Tennis elbow, and I haven't played in years!  :D You will be on that tread mill soon! Sandy, my thoughts and prayers are with you and your trials that you are going through. I wish I could say something that would help I can ONLY imagine what you are dealing with. My mother had a battle with my youngest sister and things happened even after her death that I'm so thankful that she did not live to have to see. Now though my sister is back on track and doing better. Sounds like your son wants help and that is good. :grouphug: Thank you all for my bon voyage wishes. I noticed that quite a bit of this thread is missing. I hope it wasn't because of me or has this been happening before I re-joined. :?: Laundry is calling my name and I must go now. Have a great day, ladies. I'll post more about my trip later! :coffee: Jenny523 03-08-2004, 11:59 AM Ooh, need coffee for my "morning after" headache :coffee: too much wine yesterday. (Cool new smilies!) Jess's party went well. She and Michael arrived first, everyone else within the following hour or two. We made her answer the door every time the bell rang  She was very happy with the tickets to Blue Man Group that we gave her. My brother and SIL gave her a Coach purse...she was thrilled! Iliana is such a nice person. Each time she's been here and we've entertained, she takes over all the cleanup, despite my protests. It's been a good way for her and I to chat one-on-one. I had a job interview with a neighboring town, in their Finance Dept. as a cashier, last Wednesday. I had a feeling it went well, and was right. On Friday I received a call for a second interview, which will be this afternoon :crossed: I'm not crazy about hobbling in wearing the surgical air-cast boot, but they were very understanding. Being dependent on others is really starting to wear thin. I'm so used to being out and about, it's definitely a blow to one's independence. My sister Beth had a total hip replacement 4 years ago; she told me it's normal to have those feelings. Having everyone over yesterday helped a great deal in terms of lightening my mood. Dianne, good going on the maintain. The exercise helps in so many ways. Hope your visit with "The Jessa" was fun. Donna, how was your trip? I'm sure you had a great time soaking up the sun. Terri, Es, Sandy, Ruth, Zoe..... HI!!! ~Jen points 03-08-2004, 05:44 PM I lost my long reply. :( Jen, I am so glad you had a great visit with your boys and I am so glad Jess had a good birthday. My Bradley's birthday was March 4th. He is 11. Hope the pain goes away soon. Donna, I am so glad you had a great trip. Dianne, Sounds like you are in a pattern. It will come off. Size 10!!!!!!! Woohoooo! :dancer: :dancer: :dancer: Sandy, Like I said before, you are great parents. I hate when parents say I didn't have a clue. Good luck to Greg. You will all be in my prayers. We went to Logans Steak House for his b-day and then on Sat. he had a sleepover. We took 8 kids to a pizza buffet with a game room. Sunday, we (family only) went on a 3 mile hike on the mountain. We took Tanner this time. he makes you walk. Whew!!!!!! He wants to see the world. Hi Es, Ruth and Zoe. Terri Jenny523 03-08-2004, 07:45 PM Terri, Happy Birthday (belated) to Bradley! :hb: sounds like a fun weekend. Donna, we must have posted at the same time this morning. Glad you had a good time. ~Jen dpadro 03-10-2004, 03:56 PM Good morning everyone  Donna - Welcome back - glad you had a good time. I agree there is nothing quite like the waters of the Caribbean. You probably didn't do as badly as you think with the maintaining, since you probably did quite a bit of walking. What a shock to the system to come back to snow :yikes: Jen - Glad to hear Jess' s party went well. Did she enjoy the Blue Man Group? How did the second job interview go? :crossed: Its so nice that you like Iliana - that's so important to like the person your child cares for. I was very lucky to have had two of the most wonderful mothers-in-law in the world - I loved them both very much, and I always try to be the same kind of mil to my dil, whom I will continue to love and respect after she and my son get divorced. Terri - Happy belated :hb: to Bradley - hope he had a great one. Sounds like it was fun. Congrats on the 3 mile hike with your family - sounds like that's becoming a habit. Sandy - how are you and how is Greg doing? I hope things are better for you and him. I continue to exercise every day and I'm on program and feeling good. Maybe I'm finally hearing the click I heard almost 9 years ago  I hope I continue to feel this motivated. Alana is coming home today :smug: I miss her so much. She'll be home until Sunday. Willie and I are planning a trip to Puerto Rico (he can't wait to go back  ) and inviting Alana and Casey (her boyfriend) to go with us. We're checking out various condos, houses, etc. for rent and we'll probably go for 10 days to 2 weeks. Its funny checking the rentals because we have to have at least 3 bedrooms or an open up sofa because Alana and Casey are definitely sleeping separately  Willie doesn't even want to hear 2 bedrooms, one with twin beds - he don't want them in the same room! :drill: :p :o Okay, let me get back to work - Hi to Es, Ruthie, ZoeGirl, and Janie. Hugs, Dianne points 03-10-2004, 04:31 PM Dianne, That is so cute about Willie and the 3 bedrooms. I'd be the same way. Good mom and dad. The trip sounds wonderful. Hope you have a great time. I am so glad you heard that click and keeping up with your lifestyle change. You go!!!!! :cheer: :cheer: Hi everybody. Terri dpadro 03-11-2004, 10:48 AM Thanks Terri! Hi everyone - have a great day. :coffee: Be back later. Hugs, Dianne Jenny523 03-11-2004, 12:21 PM Dianne, Good job on the exercising :cp: Going to Puerto Rico...how cool! When are you planning on going? Too funny about the 3 bedrooms; fathers have it rough when it comes to their little girls, don't they? We gave Jess a gift cert. to buy the Blue Man Group tix when it's convenient for them to go...they're planning on next month I think. I haven't gotten a call yet about the job. After the 2nd interview they did call my references, so I'm still hoping :crossed: HI to everyone, have a great day  ~Jen Jenny523 03-13-2004, 09:59 AM See you on # 155...with a new, pumped-up name!!! vBulletin® v3.6.7, Copyright ©2000-2012, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
