GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today-both very good:)
When your spirit is battered and your energy is depleted, and you feel like you can't go on, you can go on. In fact you can surpass all you've ever done before and reach a new level of accomplishment. It is amazing what you can do when you know you must. It is incredible what you can accomplish when it means everything to you.
But how could you ever be that passionate, and so totally committed that you would endure any difficulty in order to reach ever higher? That's a good question, and one that would be very much worth your time, your thought, your effort to answer.
Somewhere in you is something you sincerely care about enough that you would transcend any obstacle in order to give it life. Somewhere in you is a burning passion ready to be ignited.
You'll find clues in the things that make you happy, sad, angry, frustrated, joyful, serene, in the things that make you feel most alive. Pay heed to those stirrings, and listen to what they have to say.
The power of passion is somewhere in your life. Let yourself know it and live it.
-- Ralph Marston

LOOK AHEAD
Look ahead, toward where you're going, and you'll be better able to deal with where you are. Stay focused on the goal at the end of the road, and you'll find a way to move steadily down that road.
Keep looking ahead, and even the difficult steps will seem lighter. Keep your ultimate purpose in mind, and the burdens become that much more bearable.
Look ahead, and the challenges will make you stronger. Look ahead, and your dreams will pull you toward them.
When you're looking ahead, the distractions won't be nearly so distracting. Your efforts will gain the immense power of focus when you keep your eyes on where you're headed.
Your time, your energy, your resources will get used no matter where you're looking. When you look ahead, you'll get the highest return for that investment.
Look ahead, toward the place you most want to be. The more you look, the closer you'll be.
-- Ralph Marston

Holiday Monday, and I am at work - nothing on schedule, some work to do, more like catch up work - took me 5 different outfits before I could get in the car to leave...finally at work, boss is home sick with sick wife who has the virus that has been going around - Have clothes I bought that when I took them home, tried them on again, they were too big - feels/sounds great, but ughhhh, now I have to hope the pants fit in the smaller size....I really really like these black stretch straight legged pants, flat front pants - very flattering!!!!!
I cried through the entire episode of S&C last night - I was so HAPPY!!!!! it seems to be ending the way I wanted it to....though it was very sad too....
I decided to jump in here. I have been to many posts on this site and find it helpful. I did SB last yr for 3mos lost 30#s but had a bad fall & winter.(health issues as always) which is why I'm back. My motivational Monday started out well. I finally got up and exercised for the 1st time in mos. I'm in an excercise challenge on STP, I bombed out last wk so I very determined this wk. Your motivations were great. In fact I'm going back to read them again. I've been doing well staying on program or should I say legal. I must be eating too much or to fattening because progress has been really slow as far as the #'s go but I feel so good about my food choices(I'm diabetic so that's really impo)
Today I start wk 3 and I'm afraid to get on the scale  It went down 5# :D then up 5# and down1# :?: in the 1st 10 days and I haven't had the nerve to get back on. I told myself I must WI today. I'm afraid if I don't see a difference I might fall off program and go into a binge. But I can't, my sugar is dangerously high and meds aren't working. Gotta be :strong: and hope :crossed: for the best. I'm hoping this WOE works as I do find it doable.
I don't know Jackk and Gator yet, but :hb: to you both and many many more!

Hi,
I am visiting my daughter and we stopped to shop within a few miles of leaving the airport. We shopped all afternoon, had a great lunch and then home to regroup and wait for DSIL to get home and visit with him about his day and have a wonderful dinner. It was all lots of fun.
I am so glad to have all the packing decisions made for here and the trip to New Orleans over with. Trish, I think you will pleasantly surprised at how little I brought. Making decisions about leaving "things" behind is the hard part. Now on to more fun today when we go into Houston to search for shoes for a wedding and see how much the Galleria shopping center has expanded and shop some more.
I want to wish Jack-K a very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!
Hi to all, I'd better get mysef dressed.

Good morning everyone!
For those of us with today odd, that makes it even better!
I have started the week off on a good level, went to the gym this morning and did my regular workout(was supposed to meet my Dad, but he begged off). Then stopped at a local dive shop to get info on becoming SCUBA certified. DH and I have snorkled and loved it, and think this is a logical next step. We're heading to the Caribbean in July and fugure we can do our open water dives down there.
The kids and I bowled yesterday, does that count as exercise? My arm is feeling it....
DonnaD - It sounds like you might be getting on the scale too much, are you weighing on 1x perweek? I used to weigh myself everyday, but I was driving myself crazy and went back to once and feel much better.
Tranquil - I'm hoping to watch S&TC tonight or tomorrow, it already sounds like a tear-jerker.
vmoore - I'm looking forward to size 16's too. My 18's are starting to feel loose, so I'm hoping soon. It will be so awesome to be back in Misses sizes again, I'm really looking forward to it.
Have a happy day everyone else!!

Happy President's Day!
I was trying to get some thank you notes in the mail and realized there is no mail today. Bummer. Did my usual routine. The girls from the office are coming out for lunch so that will be a nice break. Other than that I guess I will spend my day with Dr Phil and Oprah
Thanks for all the birthday wishes. Not going to be very exciting this year.
Fillise, thankyou for the birthday wishes. It's going to be a calm one this year.
Gator, Hope you had a great birthday yesterday. :hb: :hat: :balloons:
VMoore, I know about those Lee jeans. That's why I buy a different brand. Can't stnd buying that larger size.
Tranquil, Hey girl too big clothes is a good thing. Be excited. I cried all thru S&C last nite too. I'm going to really miss it when it's over.
Donna D, I don't think I got to welcome you yet. So welcome. This is grat place for support, help and friendship. These girls are the greatest. You know SB works so jump on in hre. Posting on this boards really helps you stay on program. Don't let that scale run or ruin your life. It's only numbers and they can fluctuate every day for any reason. My DS is doing this and she said the scale isn't moving much but she has gone from a 23 to a 18. Those inches will drop off. Good luck.
Yellow, enjoy yor visit with your DD. Sure wish I was packed for New Orleans. I am getting so jealous of you all. Hope you find those shoes, but I'm sure you will find many other goodies. Thanks for the bd wishes.
I'm sure I will check back later.

Here are my MM contributions:
We are better than we know. If we can be made to see it, perhaps for the rest of our lives, we will be unwilling to settle for less.
-- Anonymous
We are wonderful, capable human beings worthy of love and happiness. We all have a gift to give the world that can't be duplicated. No one else is exactly like us.
The problem is, we don't believe it. We are used to thinking about all our negative qualities and become expert at putting ourselves down. We have a hard time believing and accepting our own goodness and gifts.
When we have a negative attitude, only one person can change it - us. We have the power to choose to change our thinking - if we want to. It takes a courageous person to risk getting positive and hopeful.
Today let me believe I am better than I know.
You are reading from the book:Our Best Days by Sally Coleman & Nancy Hull-Mast
Of what value is perseverance?
When Thomas Edison invented the light bulb, hetried over 2,000 experiments before he got it to work. A young reporter asked him how it felt to fail so many times. He replied, "I never failed once. I
invented the light bulb. It just happened to be a 2,000-step process."
Also, I know that TV is just back and there are few others of us that have returned or have just begun SB in the past few weeks. Deb posted a "humdinger" of a MM a few weeks ago on the 1/26 boards COMMITTMENT and THE CHOICES YOU MAKE. I still have them on my fridge.
Have a wonderful Monday! For those lucky enough to have their kids home today, like me, have fun!

Thank you all my SB friends for the Birthday wishes. You are all very sweet.
And have a wonderful day today Jackie. Happy Birthday, and get well soon. I'm so glad you are progressing so fast. And, ahem, are they perky? :o
Welcome, Donna. Just keep being faithful, day by day, and you will arrive at your goal. For some of us it is slower than others, but we all are just trying to put one foot in front of the other, metaphorically speaking.
I am still on this yukky WOE, and go back to the doctor on Friday. Hopefully he will clear me to eat all the veggies and roughage I like. I am basically on the anti-SB diet, with white rice, potatoes, white, pasta, and puddings. I am eating meat, but am not having my salads and veggies that I love. Just to eat a bowl of oatmeal is a dream of mine!! I have gained 4 pounds in the last week and a half, and am hoping that it will drop off fast when I get back to healthy eating. I'll keep ya posted.
I had a really nice B-day. Some friends from church took me out to lunch after church and we had a great time. My DH was playing in a father son golf tourney with our DS, so he was gone most of the day. Then some old friends that I had not seen in about 4 years happened to be in town and dropped in unexpectedly yesterday. That was so great. Then my DS, his GF, and my DD and DH and our friends all went out for dinner. It was so great. I was not expecting my DS to be with us at all. So, generally a good day. Some unexpected pleasures.
Have a great day everyone.

Hey, guys. Just got thru with my workout. Anyway, I'm peeved to have just found out that they want $1100 to fix my car! We don't have it, so we'll buy it ourselves for around $500(just parts) and then pay a friend to help my hubby put them on. Hubby knows how to do it, but it's difficult and he could use the help. Anyway, not much going on today. I'm getting hungry again. I've been up since 5:30, so already had breakfast. I weighed today and it said 169, but I don't know if it will stick. Don't want to get my hopes up and then it be 170 tomorrow. But I'm confident that I'll be back to my low(168-169) for WIW :) I'm going to "buckle down" and get these pounds moving in the direction I want.
Jack-k- Hope you have a fantastic birthday today, you deserve it! :hb: :balloons:
Gator- Happy Belated Birthday! Hope it was a great one!

Jackie, Barbara, Gator(I have to chk bio for your real name) and all the wonderful friends on this bd, thanks for all the great advise. I am getting on the scale too much. I'm sure my meds are affecting the outcome. My doc said one of my diabetes med inhibats weight loss. Just need to try harder.
Hopefully getting up and moving :tread: will boost the weight loss a little.
So thanks again all. I check here often, as I really feel it helps. :thanks:

Hi Everyone! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Mine was spent with more car drama. I have spent 1600 total now and my car is still making the same feezin noise that I originally complained about. I just want to yell!!!!! This is really the first time I have ever had to put money into the car, but still, I just want the speedracer like noise to go away. Also, to add to my miserable mood I weighed on Sat only to discover that I was up 4 pounds since Weds. Nice, real nice. I am hoping it was water retention due to the chinese food I ate, but realize it is probably just severe denial and ommitance of the brownies I ate on Fri. I really don't even know what that is about. I have not really craved sugar in 3 years, but lately I am obsessed. I have eaten 4 brownies over the course of the weekend and a piece of birthday cake. What is wrong with me? I hope I can soon snap out of this sugar obsession. I am really watching my starchy carbs right now as well..because you know my crazy thinking..if it's brown or wheat I think I can have unlimited portions. Anyway, thanks for letting me complain.
JackK- Happy birthday, my friend. Hope you have a happy and healthy year ahead. Today is also my mom's birthday(54).
Gatorgal- Happy Belated birthday. Hope you enjoyed your day!!!
Donna- Welcome! Looking forward to chatting with you!!!
Melf- I know, I can't wait either. Getting very excited!!!!
Everyone else, have a great on plan day!

Hi again
Just waiting for DH to get home. He called and will be about an hour late. That figures when you are bored and dying for someone to talk to. Actually, my afternoon has been busy. The girls came from the office, then my high school friend came by with great gifts, and then another friend brought me some wine and chicken salad. Many phone calls. So it hasn't been to bad. A friend gave us some steaks from the best steak house in town, so I am going to sneak out and start them since DH is going to be late. Want to get them going before it gets too dark to cook them.
Woodfrogs, yes bowling does count as exercise. My rear end was always so sore afterwards. Go figure. Neat of the scuba diving certification. I just tried snorkeling last year. I don't like seeing all those fish so close.
ChrisD, yes S&C was a tear jerker. I'm torn to watch it or not considering my situation. I never know if it will bother me or not. I hate to see it end. Tomorrow, all the girls are going to be on Oprah. That looks like a tear jerker too.
IDblond, thanks for the MM. THey were all good and so true.
Gator, I'm not sure about perky, but they are round and full and don't seem to hang. Much different from the udders I had. Glad you had a nice BD. Hope that eating gets changed soon.
Heartmom, that's a bummer about your car. At least DH can fix it himself. WTG on getting to close to the 160's. Seems like yesterday you were just getting into the 170's.
Melf, thanks for the wishes. You have some extra fun at the get together for me okay?
Donna. posting on the board really helps and that exercise will too. Hope you get some good results.
Ashley, girl what has gotten into you. And just when I can't come down there and shake a knot into you. You will get back on track just fine and the gym will help too. I just hate car trouble. Nothing worse in my book. Makes you wonder every time yo get in it if it is going to run or not. Best wishes to your mom today. She's only 3 years older than me. Why didn't I feel that old when I met you. Sure didn't feel like your mom.
Deb, What's going on that you might not be able to go to NO? It won't be the same w/o you.
Have a great evening. Talk to you tomorrow. Thanks for all the bd wishes.

I love coming to the board and reading all ya'lls post. The weather is the bomb here today...64 and sunny. Just beautiful.
Gator and Jackie...sorry I am a day late and a dollar short on the birthday wishes. But since both of you are so totally awesome I say let's have Birthday week and both of you have the most super fantastic weeks possible.
:grouphug:
JackieO...run...step away from the sugar!!! Oh girl I know just what you are going through. Sugar is like drugs I'm telling you. It's like once you get a little you want more. YOU can BEAT the urges....hang in there.
Donna...Hang in there. The pounds might be harder coming off but eventually they will have scoot.
Heart...WTG with the 169. It's all that exercise girl. Excellent job.
Beth...good to see you back! I'm sorry that your sugar is too high. I hope as the weight comes back off it will return to a healthy level. And don't beat yourself up about gaining the weight back. This is a new day and a start to a new you.
Iblond...thank you for the MM's today.
ChrisD...hey woman...weekend over FRESH start... :) Love a new day.
Barbara...how cool about the scuba certificate. I wonder if they give certificates for getting in water over your head without your water wings. *smile* I am so afraid of water. A pool is about as deep as this ole gal gets. But I love to watch the underwater shows on TV. Do you take pictures while you snorkle?
Howdy YellowRose..((hugzz))
Well once again I've run short of time and only half way through with my replies. Please if I don't say howdy..know YOU are important.
Love and hugs to all,

Crystle - yes, I love to take pics when we snorkel, sometimes they even come out 1/2 way decent. I'm hoping to be able to take better ones whole diving...
Jackie - bowling has had an effect on my left lef, the thigh muscle aches, guess I have to sit in the hot tub tonight...but it felt good to spend time with my sisters too.
'Cause it wasn't just bowling yesterday, we went today too...
I can't get to everyone, got to check on dinner, take care and good night!!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!
Got up to the temp in the 40's....wind blowing and of course, the pollen is everywhere! My car is white, but this morning it was yellow! It's not helping my sinus condition, and the pain is back, and I'm sure that I'll have to take another round of Augmentin!
I'm the reason that Debbie is having a promblem with going to Missy's....I've had a problem come up that is preventing me from going, and yes, it's the last minute, but it can't be helped. I've looked forward to this trip since it was first mentioned, and I had even started packing my panties! I'm trying to convince her that she CAN drive that distance by herself. BOTH Susan and I do it when we drive home for visits. I hate that this has happened, and I know that it has put Debbie between a rock and a hard spot. I'm appoligizing (sp) to everyone in advance, and believe me, if there was ANY WAY...I would be there. So with that said, y'all can decide if you still want me on the board, or if you want me to post elsewhere. I'll leave it up to you. I love each and every one of you and all I can say is I'm sorry
HAPPY BIRTHDAY JACKIE!!!! Hope you're feeling better today. Did you see my post to you yesterday about the wigs? I've emailed Cathy's MIL and am waiting for an answer...Go back and read it if you haven't already. Don't eat too much cake!! :hb: :gift: :balloons: :hun:

goodevening everyone. I just got finished with dinner. Hubby fixed me grilled steak, salad and a garlic bagel (legal). Eating is still good. I did my lower body ball palaties today, still to cold and windy to walk.
Barbara- Hubby and I use to bowl every weekend. I really miss that. Its sooo fun, although i was usually only bowling 120 or so...lol
The diving sounds so cool! I see it on tv and couldnt imagin how cool it would be in person.
Crystal- I would do anything for a day like that. It has been rainy, cold , windy and just plain yucky here. It figures that when im all ready to go walking the weather wont coroperate.lol
Heart- I know how ya feel on the car problems...Hubbys just had about $300 put into it and mine just had $200 and i need a tune up still and a transmission flush. We are lucky enough to have a friend who does it for us to. Other wise we wouldnt be able to afford it. But it still sucks when your vehicle is sucking up all the money you dont already have..lol
Jackie- I hope your steak was as good as mine!!!yuummmyyy! I know you went the hard way to get perky boobs but im sure im not the only one envious...lol..kids and age just make them babies droop..lol
Gotta go for now. Have a great night!! If i missed anyone im sorry....im a blonde, what can i say...lol

Hey!
My daily pop in visit is here! My eating is bad, my weight is up - oh well! I'll try harder after Mardi Gras!!!
BOB: Yes you are a ******! As IF we wouldn't want your arse on this board! Yeah - I'm disappointed that you aren't coming..after all we have been talking on this board for 4 years. But, I don't hate you! You are still one of my best buds! So, don't even talk like that or I'll come there and kick your butt!
THOSE THAT ARE LA BOUND: Here's what to bring....nothing dressy - casual! Bring stuff that is warm for night parades and stuff that is cooler for the day. We will probably be in the mid 60s through the weekend during the day and in the 40s at night. Did you all get to mapquest directions or what? I sent Ashley directions and I'm going to do the same for Shirley so that they can get here from New Orleans...but for the rest of you....y'all feeling comfortable with the trip? If not just let me know! I think I gave you all my phone number if you need to call me Friday. I can't wait - this will be so much fun!!!
DEB: What's your status?
JACK-K & GATOR: Happy Birthday!!! Hope it was great!!! I love you both!! Jack-k I have a special bead for you but I need your address. If you think about it e-mail me or PM me your address. Thanks!

HiedeeHo All!
I am pooped. Did NH, hit WalMart super, made lasagna for Saturday and mac.cheese for supper. That and a couple of other things took up better part of day! Just skimmed posts. Gonna sit and do my puzzles.
BOB! BOB!: You can't help it when things come up and cause a change in plans. Sure it causes consternation and everyone (including you!) is disappointed. But hey, s--t happens! Whatever made you think that anyone would want you to leave us?!? Shucks, I'd miss those jokes if nothing else! So lighten up Babe, keep posting!
MM: Dusting -
"A house becomes a home when you can write "I love you" on the furniture."
I can't tell you how many countless hours that I have spent CLEANING!
I used to spend at least 8 hours every weekend making sure things were just perfect - "in case someone came over". *Then I realized one day that no-one came over; they were all out living life and having fun!
Now, when people visit, I find no need to explain the "condition" of my home. They are more interested in hearing about the things I've been doing while I was away living life and having fun. If you haven't figured this out yet, please heed this advice.
Life is short. Enjoy it! Dust if you must, but wouldn't it be better to*paint a picture or write a letter, bake a cake or plant a seed, ponder the difference between want and need?
Dust if you must, but there's not much time, with rivers to swim and mountains to climb, music to hear and books to read, friends to cherish and life to lead.
Dust if you must, but the world's out there with the sun in your eyes,*the wind in your hair, a flutter of snow, a shower of rain. This day*will not come around again.
Dust if you must, but bear in mind, old age will ! come and it's not kind. And when you go - and go you must - you, yourself will make more dust!
It's not what you gather, but what you scatter that tells what kind of*life you have lived.
Shirley

Hey everyone - this is a drive-by. I just got in from paint class and my chest is tight b/c it is full of JUNK and I'm pooped. They boys had their "sleepover" party last night and I am still recovering. Tomorrow I have school - but after that nothing else is planned for the week and I'll be taking advantage of that. As I have mentioned probably many times before, I plan to catch up and rest. Eating has been so-so - real good here, little cheat there. I need to tighten up and get my act together . . . today was better, hopefully tomorrow will be great.
Few replys before I climb in:
JACKK- First, Happy Birthday! It sounds like you are doing wonderful and I'm happy to see that you are up and about. Glad that things went well - I still pray for your recovery and after treatment. Don't buy a wig just yet - wait till you speak with your oncologist. My MIL has been on chemo for over a year and she still has all of her hair. Each treatment is different and effects everybody differently. You may not lose your hair at all . . . or you may. See what your doctor says - they should be able to give you a better idea. Glad things are going well . . . you are such an inspiration to many.
GATOR - Happy Belated Birthday - Hope it was a good one.
DONNAD - Welcome! Nice to meet you - so to speak.
I to watched S&C and LOVED it! I can't wait for next week - I can - but I can't - if you know what I mean.
Okay - I'm heading to bed. Gonna grab some Robitussen and the heating pad and try to break this chest cold up.
Hope you all have a great night -

Don't go by the scale. Go by how your clothes fit you and how you feel!
Jack-K and Gator happy Birthdays!

Bob
I can't belive you would ever deliberately set out to hurt anyone so why would you leave the board?
Eating is good. Doing my walking every day. Drinking my water. Tom showed up Saturday which is good but a pain in the butt.
It's still cold! Where is spring!! :?:  :stress: :dunno: :flow1:

Just a quickiel I get up later today but a few things called out to me.
JACK-K: glad everything is healing up so quickly for you!!
BOB: How could you imagine that people would want you to leave the board because life bit ya in the butt? You is among friends, lady. Beside, you're the only one who can drive those ornery mules hitched to the wagon. Must be all the Rocky Top you sing to them!
SEF: I loved your post, and it reminded me of a poem I sent to my sister a long time ago. "Dishes and dusting can wait 'til tommorow
For children grow up, I've learned to my sorrow.
So quiet down dishes, dust go to sleep
I'm rocking my baby and babies don't keep."

Well, I haven't had a totally OP day since I came back on the boards, but I haven't eaten yet today, so here is my chance!!
I'm going to drink as much water as I can today, try and get in my 64 ounces, since I haven't had water in about a month!!! I have started taking my medicines again, don't feel different yet, but maybe I will soon.
I have got to get on track!! My big 3-0 is in a month, and I am DETERMINED to be UNDER 200 before that point! I know it's a bit, but I can do it if I stick to this and drink water!
Well, I got work to do! I'll check in later. Hope everyone is doing well!
~Beth
PS - Has anyone tried those Atkins Wraps from Subway? Are they SB legal as well? I've had one and I really like them... I hope they're legal since it's an easy quick lunch for me!!!

Good Tuesday Morning. It is Tuesday isn't it? Not working really makes you lose track of the days.
DH and I had a nice dinner last nite. We had Deb's cheesecake around 9:00. It was a nice treat.
Does anyone eat Fiber One? If so, how do you stand it? It tastes like cardboard. Today I added a dab to my oatmeal. Not too noticable.
Nothing planned today. Didn't even put makeup on. Not expecting anyone.
I got Dr Phil's book so I hope to read part of that.
Country, I just love reading your posts. They are so uplifting and light. At this age, one day for birthdays is enough. 64 degrees? I'm, jealous. It is supposed to be in the 50's here on Wed. I will try to get a walk around the block in sometime during my busy day. ha!
BOB. All I can say it's a good thing I don't get to go to NO or I would be hauling your arse down there. Of course we understand, things happen. I don't blame Deb for not wanting to drive by herself either. Her car is not reliable either. But, don't think for one minute you get to leave this board. I will come looking for you for sure. We had Deb's cheesecake for my bd. No big deal. Yes I saw your post. Just tell her to email me or you do it. Hope those sinuses clear up soon.
VMoore, my steak was great too. I did start them before DH got home. He thought I overdid it, but how hard is it to push a button?
Missy, I have an idea of what the beads are! :censored: I will pm my addy.
Sef, Loved the MM. I had a poem on my babies wall that said something like: Dust and cobwebs go to sleep. I'm rocking my babies and babies don't keep. There was more to it but that was 24 years ago. I was thinking about dusting today, but maybe I won't now.
Melf, WTG ont he health club. I bet you will love it and those pounds will melt off.
Suzy, I bet it will take a couple days to recover from a boys sleepover. My girls had them and they wore me out, but boys are a little more rambunktious (sp) I bet. I will wait until I buy the wig. I see the oncologist on 3-1. Try to catch Oprah today. The girls from S&C will be on there for their only group interview.
Cheryl, WTG on walking every day. Can't wait to be able to do that again. Think I will ask if I can do the :treadmill: slowly.
Arcayne, you must be younger, you remembered the rest of the poem.
Beth, todayis your day. You can do it. Take one hour at a time and when you are tempted, stop and think about it. Is it worth it? Then drink a glass of water. You can do this girl friend.
I always refresh before I post a reply, but I don't think it works right on this computer so if you posted before me and I didn't reply to you, then it didn't show up before I posted. Sorry.
Be back later.

Good morning:
We are home, and enjoyed the snowy trip. We didn't get any snow, but there was already plenty there for building a snowman and sledding. Britt was so brave...she really went high up on the hill and sledded down alone. She went higher up than I did. She had a ball. Lane was her typical "difficult" self, finding things to set her off and then screaming about it for 30-40 minutes. I am sure they put a note in our file to never let us come back again. I am starting to read the book on raising a Spirited Child because she is so unlike Britt, and I really find myself getting very frustrated with her. I love her dearly, but there are days, I really need a break. AND, I need to learn how to handle these situations without breaking in the process. I can't figure out this eating thing, and probably never will. We left on Friday morning....so Friday, Saturday, Sunday & Monday, I ate whatever I wanted. A few examples, a spicy chicken sandwich from Wendy's, candy, double mocha cappacinno, chips/dip, hamburgers, rice pilaf....to name a few. I was convinced when we got home that I'd be up to 125#, and have to work my a-- off the rest of the month to take it back off. When we got home, I weighed 120.5#, and that is what I weigh again this morning. Go figure. I think I usually have a lot of water retention. When I am home I drink over 60 ounces per day; I probably drank 30 ounces per day while away. I know that it does catch up to you, so I need to really buckle down now, count my blessings and move on in a positive direction.
Brittany did start vomiting the night before we left, so at least she had fun during the trip, but felt like crap driving home. The movement of the vehicle doesn't help when you are already nauseous. She had some dry cereal and saltine crackers on the way home, and then I made her some chicken noodle soup once we got home. She seems to be doing much better today. I have felt a few times like it might be coming on, but have managed to fend it off up until now.
I hope to workout the rest of the week - Wed, Thurs, Fri & Sat, but we will see how it plays out. MY Ab Scissor isn't here yet, but am dying to get started on that. My tummy is the worst area of my body....close second is my back.
Anyway....Happy belated birthday to Gator & JackK. I hope you both had a wonderful birthday!!!
heart: I can totally understand the tummy thing. My stomach got HUGE when I was pregnant with Lane, and then I started to lose this weight. My biggest concern is the loose skin, which no amount of exercise is going to fix, but if I can tighten up all those muscles, maybe the loose skin won't look so bad. I think I have seen the advertisement for the 6sec abs, but can't remember. Beach Body sells an awesome video called Great Abs, and it is a great workout too. It costs less than the other too. It is a 7-minute tape that they recommend that you do 3-4x per week. My DH & I use it, and I have seen some results, just never quick enough ;).
jackieO: There are so many delicious "legal" recipes that you can make and keep around for those time when you really feel that you need something sweet. You should take a day and do some baking and keep some goodies around for when you think you really need them. It is better to overdo it on something "legal" than the stuff that will cause your levels to peak and fall. I think Teensy listed a recipe for applesauce brownies; they were pretty good. Hang in there, lady.
vmoore: It is always good to remind ourselves of the negative affects of sugar; thanks for the post.
Beth: The subway wraps are legal, but I think high in fat, so not something you'd want to do too often. I always heard they are not worth the money....very small meal for lots of dough! If you have a Schlotzsky's by you, their wraps are well worth the money.
Jack-K: I am so glad to see you back!!! :) :) :) :) :) I am also happy to hear that you are so ahead of schedule on your recovery. Try not to overdo it; you seem like that type of person! That's a compliment, by the way. I remember the drainage tube removal being the absolute worst part of my BR surgery & recovery. It was extremely painful, but such a relief to get out. Eat whatever you need to now to keep your strength; you can worry about getting back on plan once all the meal support is over. You probably lost weight while in surgery as well. I got constipated as well after my surgery. They said it was due to the pain meds as well as your body being "turned off" for so long. You were in surgery for a long time and your body was basically shut down for that time, and it will take a while for it to start working. I had to do one of those fleet enemas flushes, which was terrible. I don't like Fiber One, but eat Uncle Sam sprinkled on my other cereal, and it is an AWESOME laxative. You could probably eat a few bowls of that, and it might get you back to some sort of regularity. I am sure you looked at your birthday in a whole new light this year. Instead of being one year older; you have been blessed with another year! Have the pathology reports come in yet? Did they get everything???? Glad you are back; you were missed!
Well, the kids want a snack and I have a ton of laundry to do. I will probably pop in later since we probably will be homebound all day.
Take care,
Nat

HiedeeHo All!
Doing some framing. Have to entertain this afternoon. DIL is off so she's going to make supper. So it seems like an easy day!
I got in touch with JackieO and I am going to pick her up on Saturday morning for the wing-ding. She sounded so nice. I thnk I will have to stop making old lady jokes. She thought I am 80!! For those of you who also have that idea, I am 67! I think I'm the old lady on the board compared to all the young chicks! Even though I am "young" I still have some physical problems that slow me down. (Sometimes I feel like 80) By and large I keep busy and think young, or almost!
ARCAYNE: Funny you should mention the poem about dusting and babies. When GD was born I of course stitched a baby announcemnet, but for DIL I did that poem. I did it on 24 count, which is beyond my eyesight now. I just feel both poems are truths.
V: Yeah it's long, BUT it is a good addition to our education along the path of SB! So to me it was a good thing!
JACKK: So glad you are doing so well. HAPPY BIRTHDAY (belated I think). Read the post to Arcayne. I never dust as often as my mother and grandmother would think I should.
PANCHO: Glad you enjoyed your trip.
Well, have to get a shower and get ready for the Joyful Noise gig.

Just a quickie today as I easily am distracted by the internet and must get some things done! I don't think I've lost that much weight, but my little sis' sent me a dress and it fits! Then I tried on some of my 10's and they fit too! So I can say at the least my body is rearranging itself. I see the PT tomorrow and hopefully WC doesn't turn down my prescription for Pool Therapy I'll feel so much better when I'm back in therapy.
One really important response:
BOB! How could you ever think that you could leave this board because life dealt you a bad hand?! Your friendship means an awful lot and I would hate for you to feel that you couldn't participate on the board. What would I do without your sense of humor and keen sense of how to keep my butt strapped on the wagon!
Have a wonderful Tuesday, ALL of You!

Schlotzsky's has legal wraps??? I LOVE THEIR FOOD. Of course I know their Sandwiches aren't legal (even tho they say sourdough :( ) but if I could get a wrap from there that is legal I'd be soooooo happy!!
Thanks for the tip.
Also, Thanks for the vote of confidence Jackie!! And so far, today IS my day. I had chicken breast and broccoli and cheese for lunch. Beef jerky and cheese for a snack. Now, I can just stay OP for dinner and I'll have a WHOLE OP DAY under my belt!!
Thanks everyone :)
Have a great day, tomorrow is my youngest son's 7th B'day, so I'll be doing the cupcakes at school thing... and then we go to Chuck E Cheese for dinner, I'm having SALAD!
GL Tomorrow with WIW everyone, I hope my scale is down at least a pound with me drinking a ton of water, plus TOM just ended... who knows!

Today is cold and wet and gloomy - brrrrrrrrrrrrrr  So depressing when it is like this - Country, wish I could have some of your weather today....or if not, go home and take a nice nap - napping weather.
I got hungry this afternoon, went to the health food store and got whole wheat pretzel nuggets and a small little tiny container of tabouli...for breakfast I had a fruit smoothy...tonight I am having Tabochnik's Vegetarian Vegetable Soup.
BOB, Deb and other's disappointment that you have cancelled does not call for banishment!!!!! Only a swift FLOGGING!!!! Serene says twenty lashes!!!!!
JACKK - I have eaten Fiber One - I had it with SF Soy Milk and fresh berries (blue berries) and sugar substitute...that is the only way I would eat it...and it was really good - but I ate it every day and got burned out... I love that SF Cheesecake!!!!
Pancho - sledding sounds like so much fun - actually it sounds like you burned off everything you ate with all that fun in the snow!!!!!
SEF - You are nothing but a Spring Chicken!!!!!!! And you can tell all the old lady jokes you want, your funnies are always "funny"!!! You could run circles around me with all that you do!!!!! That is great that you and JackieO can ride together!
MELF - how cool about the health club - you and dh are going to have such fun working out together!!!!! That is so great! I am trying to get my parents to join mine - so on lunch hours I can meet them and sweat together!!!
I have to get going - so Hello to all that I have not posted to -

Beth- the Subway wraps are legal. They taste good, but are costy and not enough food if you're really hungry.
Jack-k- Hey, I like Fiber One! What kind of milk do you drink? I eat it with the 2% Carb Countdown milk. The milk is a little sweeter than regular, and it seems to make the cereal taste better.
Pancho- I got a difficult one, too! Boogie can be so sweet and adorable at times, and then pull a Mr.Hyde on ya, and he turns into a raging little brat. This morning, he screamed the entire time in Hudson's because he didn't want to go to that store, he wanted to go to the thrift store. The main thing that drives me crazy is when he says he wants something and you get it for him, and then he doesn't want it and then starts crying again when you put it back saying he now wants it. So then you get it again, and he does it all over again.
BOB- HAVE YA LOST YOUR MIND??!!! Geez, did you get ahold of some sugar or something? Something has clouded your judgment. The board simply wouldn't be the same without you. So snap out of it!
Well....I GOT MY LICENSE!! Woohoo! I'm legal. You know, I was looking at the difference in my old one and my new one...I look like a different person now. DL pics still turn out dorky regardless. Haven't exercised today, but I have the class tonight. Gotta go..hubby's calling me..

Good day everyone. I didnt do any exercise as far as tapes or walking but i worked in my yard for hours today. Pruning, cleaning, weed eating and I put out 20 bales of pine straw. My body is screaming "what have you done to me??". I feel satisfied i got my work in.
I didnt take notes when i read the posts and my body is so sore i cant sit here much longer. I think im gonna go stretch out across my balance ball and stretch my muscles.lol. I will reply later. Have a great night!!
P.S. Beth, i made it through 2 b-day partys and a bridal shower all with all the fixings in one week. You can do it. It is hard, but you will feel absolutly great about yourself if you stay OP. You can do it!!!!!

Hi again,
Waiting on DH to come home. We are having the rest of some lasagna someone brought last week. I got out and walked about 3 blocks, about 20 minutes. It felt good to get out in the sun. It was a little cool, but felt good. Of course I didn't break any speed records, but at least I did something.
Speaking of, I haven't done my surgery exercises yet so better do so quickly.
Pancho, glad you are back and had a great trip. I hope Britt is feeling better soon. Just give Lane lots of love but a lot of structure and rules. You can't have 2 good ones, it just isn't fair. I always told my younges that she tried my soul but made my heart smile. She wasn't bad, just not like the first one. They found cancer in only lymph node. Of course I was hoping for none but one is not that bad. They did remove all the nodes under the left arm. It is real ugly. Looks like a sunken pit. I go to the oncologist 3-1 and I am sure Chemo will be prescribed.
Sef, you will love Ashley. She is so adorable and sweet. Have a wonderful time. You are not old, just seasoned and wise and you do more than half of us on here. I fell like 80 a lot.
Idblond, glad things are fitting now. Feels nice to fit into something new.
Beth, WTG staying OP so far. Dinner will be a breeze. You can resists those cupcakes and pizza. Salad is good, sugar is bad. Keep repeating that. HB to your DS.
Tranquil, I added strawberries to the Fiber One and that still didn't help. Think I will put it in yogurt next.
Heartmom, I use skim milk and splenda in the cereal plus strawberries. Still Yuk! I bet you look like a new person on that license. What a good feeling. I don't get mine renewed for 2 more years and everyone says I don't even look like the pic.
Wood, Oprah was good. I would have liked to have a Cosmo with them. I hate that it is ending. for staying OP all day.
Have a great nite, talk to you tomorrow after my Dr. appt.

Hi - Just got in from Ryan's CYO basketball game. They lost - 14-15. It was a tough game. I watched Oprah today and I'll admit it - I had some tears. It was good show. I want to check out the HBO site b/c I'd like to get one of those shirts that Oprah was giving out. I'd probably get I'm like Miranda b/c that is who I think I am most like. I have some of Carrie in me, but probably more of Miranda. I don't know - I'm going to check out the site cuz I'd like to get something as a keepsake - a mug, sweatshirt, something. Just think though - just a few more weeks until the Sopranos and the previews look real good.
Eating today has finally been 100% OP. I found those ww bagels at Walmart and have had only one - half the other day and the other half today. I don't think I care for them that much - they seem really dry. Might just go back to my ww toast with natural pb for breakfast. I am anticipating a tough week b/c for starters - I'm home all week with the kids and secondly - we still have a ton of "junk" left over from the sleepover party - cookies, banana bread, etc. Like I said - today was good and I'm hoping every other day after today is too - we'll see.
VMOORE - yard work is VERY good exercise. MY DH and I fight over who is going to mow the lawn b/c I want to do it for the exercise!
HEART - I kept my old license too and often compare the pictures. Especially those days when I just want to cave in and eat whatever . . .
PANCHO - Glad you had a good trip. Both of my boys are total opposites and I mean than in every sense of the word. Ryan is blond with green eyes - Daniel is a brunette with big blue eyes. Ryan is easy going, very social and naturally smart. Daniel has been known to be stubborn, was very clingly as a baby (not so much now) and educationally, things come harder to him. My children are night and day - but hang in there - it does get better. Once Daniel started school, he did like a 180. Now there are times when I think he will flip out over something and he totally surprises me and just shrugs his shoulders and says "I don't care - whatever Mom". People often said to me that it is called "second child syndrome" - that if we had our second child first, we never would have had a second child - Naturally, no matter how difficult they are - we wouldn't trade them for all the tea in China.
CHERYLCO - How is your daughter doing? I meant to mention it earlier in my drive-by post. My neice (who is only 11) is on a small dose of an anti-depressant. Her parents hated to put her on something so young, but she has a chemical in-balance (I know I spelt that the wrong way - bear with me) and since the meds, we have all seen such a positive change in her. My thoughts are with you . . . good job sticking to your gut - mother's intuition is usually right.
JACKK - Walking outside already? My goodness - you are an inspiration. Just don't over do it. You must be going stir crazy at home - but take it easy. I would hate to see you set yourself back. S&C was good wasn't it? I'm glad I did my sleep over with boys - they were a little active - but I'm not sure I would have the patience for six little girls . . .
Okay - everyone else - have a great night. I'll check in tomorrow. I'll need to - I'm home all day with the cookies, banana bread, V-Day candy, etc. and I'm going to need something to help me keep up my will power :smug:
Night -

HiedeeHo All!
The Joyful Noise did a great job today! Everything seemed to mesh. Sometimes I wonder how I could have nerve to get up in front of the audience and think we or I did terrible, but today it was gooooooood!
Just was IMing with my brother. He has been deactivated from his stint in the desert and returns to work the first. He has sorta been a man of leisure since he returned home.
Did my puzzles, don't feel like doing anything else. Always like to come here.
LDBLOND: A 10?!? I haven't been a size 10 since I was age 10!!!!!! Good for you!
BETH: You have conquered one day. You can do it again tomorrow. I have been struggling too and have been doing very well of late. It's a great feeling!
TRAQUIL: Thank you my dear! I was glad I could hitch up (not in the San Francisco way!) with JackieO. It will be nice to have company for part of the journey. I really like doing things with others. Although I do like my own company too. Did you get that nap?
V: I would say that you got a good workout!!!!
JACKK: After surgery you sometimes feel 80!!! I remember when I had my gall bladder surgery (in the days before belly button surgery and you were a week in the bhospital). I did so great I was allowed home after 5 days. I couldn't wait to take a walk around the block. It wasn't until then that I really realized how our house was surronded by little elevations. I was pooped! But I did it the next day too. I'm so happy you are doing so well.
SUZY: 100%!! Isn't that a nice number!
Someone else just IMed me and I can't multi-task so will say goodnight!

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY GATOR, AND JACK-K!! Hope you both had a special day!!
Hello all--
Been missing for a bit, but was here reading posts.....just not posting.
I was having a huge problem craving sweets for awhile. They were legal sweets, but I was wanting to eat them all the time. So last week I detoxed. I cut out all the starchy carbs, and the fruit. Of course, I seemed to eat fattier foods during that time, but it was like a PP week for me. It seems to have worked. I started back yesterday, and have had two full days now without any sweets but fruit. I am hoping to get on with some serious weight loss now! :crossed: I still have those last 8 pounds to lose!!
I was up like 6 pounds a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was water weight due to expecting TOM. TOM never did arrive!! Guess I am making up for having it 3 times a few months ago!! But the hot flashes have taken over big time!! Any suggestions?? Anyway, that water weight is gone.......
Valentines day was a total surprise for me. Dh is usually not too much of a romantic....but he sure knocked my socks off this year. He bought me a diamond ring, and we spent a wonderful weekend together. ;) I got him a "Game Processing Kit". It is a case that holds all of the knives and saws (they were included) that he uses to cut up his wild game. He will never be without something he needs now.
Wish I had time for replies, but it's late. I don't know when I will be back on. Dh is going to town tomorrow. So maybe I can get on early and get to a few! I think about all of you even when I am not posting. Have a great day tomorrow!!

I got my WATP tapes yesterday so im going to do those today, although my legs are killing me from all the yard work yesterday. ouch.
Well i hope the luck of the scales is with you all!!! ;) Ill check back later.

Yippee! I just got a call from my internist who said he got a letter from my other doctor and it said that I could start on veggies now. Too bad that he didn't let me know as well. So, I think I'm gonna have a salad today. :)
I had a wonderful ugli fruit today for breakfast. I love thosse things. They are about the size of a large grapefruit, but with a looser (like a tangerine) skin. The skin is very bumpy and thick, thus its name "ugli". It tastes like a cross between a very sweet orange and a grapefruit, which I think it is, and is very tangy. It is best used for juicing as it is VERY juicy, but I also like to try to eat the flesh.
Here is a VERY interesting article about how your computer could become a "spam zombie." If you have failed to update your virus definitions, have not recently run a virus check, or don't have a firewall, especially if you are on a high-speed connection, your computer may be being used to send out spam. This is related to the problem that I described last week. Check out the article. You'll find it "très interessante."

And a GOOD morning it is!!
Well, I stayed OP ALL DAY yesterday, and drank so much my tinkle turned almost clear!! (Which I hear means I'm hydrated right, and it should be that way all the time! Whoops! :o ) The only thing I had that was not really illegal, but not the best, was that I had a serving of popcorn in a bag at work for snack... but since I passed up cookies and chips for that, I consider it a SUCCESS!
This morning, I got up (went potty, just for every extra ounce..LOLOL! ) and braved the metal monster! IT SAYS 208!!! I'm DOWN 5 POUNDS! Now, you all know and I know that it's fluid from drinking all that water, but considering if I hadn't drank (drunk?) all of that... I wouldn't have lost the water weight, either. So, I consider it a success since I followed through!
So, Goal #1 of getting under 210 is accomplished... I want to be under 205 next WIW!! Oh, who am I kidding, I'd settle to stay OP and lose ONE pound by next WIW.. LOL!!!!
OMGGGGGGG I can't believe Schlotzsky's has LEGAL wraps!! WOOHOOOOO!!! I adore their sandwiches. I was looking at their website yesterday trying to find the ingredients to all their breads, but they don't have them listed. Only the nutritional values for the breads. I wonder if any of their breads are legal? Dark Rye? Who knows. I'm going to send them an EMail and see if they have ingredients.
I know Subway wraps aren't much bang for the buck, but if you're like me and find it IMPOSSIBLE to choose healthy OP things for the last year... it's a much better option than a bag of chips, or a Double Cheeseburger and Fries!! There were several days last month that it was my only OP selection of the day, because when I ate at home or anywhere else, it was always things I shouldn't have!!
I am off to get cupcakes for the little guy... it's his BIG 7 today and he woke up announcing it to the world..LOL Then DH burst his bubble and told him that he won't be 7 until 3:43pm... lol, that was amusing!
Best Wishes on WIW for everyone. I think this initial drop will be enough to keep me motivated for a while!! (until I don't lose anymore.. :^: ) and I am committed to eating salad and only sniffing the cake!!
Bye Y'all!!

Good Wednesday morning fellow SB!! I was at 120.5# this morning, so things are looking good. I got up at 4 a.m to get to the gym, and drug my butt in there, asking myself why I got up so early when I am still so tired from the trip, but after a few minutes, I was ready to sweat and I got a good workout in. I got my Ab Scissor yesterday, but it needs to be assembled, and I will probably have to talk DH into doing it for me.
I had class last night, and I am still finding it very interesting. I got a B on my test, which is totally fine with me. I got 41 out of 50 right. I am terrible at retaining things, so I was pleasantly surprised to see it. I have to write a 3 page paper for next week on a "fad" diet. I am going to write about SB. I know we don't think of it as a fad diet, but it is considered one, by all the guidelines.
I ran over something yesterday, and after pulling into the garage, I could hear the tire hissing. It completely drained in a matter of 20-30 minutes. I called AAA and they came out and put the spare on for me. I have to go have it replaced today when Britt is in school. I then hope to get to Whole Foods to get some more frozen blueberries and a few other things.
chrisd: I am really glad that Lane wasn't born first, because we may have truly decided that we were done! I would have never been able to experience the true differences that my girls have. I hope she outgrows it, but my pediatrician says they are great traits to have as an older child/adult. She will feel less likely to follow the crowd, and will not be afraid to stand up to what she believes in. Brittany, I think, will be easily swayed since she is so sensitive and wants to be accepted. We will see how it all plays out, if I can survive Lane's terrible two's, which don't technically start until July. God help me  .
ldblond: Glad you are losing those inches; they are just as good as pounds, as far as I'm concerned. Keep up the great work.
Beth: Happy Birthday to your DS; I hope his day is special. I always ate pizza toppings and a salad when we would go out to an outing like that. I now will allow myself one slice of pizze, since I am at goal, but if I am still hungry, I will just eat the toppings and my salad. I wasn't sure if I would like the Schlotzsky's wraps since their bread is my favorite part of the sandwich, but I was pleasantly surprised, and will definately get one again. My DS got one and said that she almost had to save the other half for dinner...it was so big. Congrats on the 5# loss; that is wonderful. Popcorn is not so bad, and a really good alternative to most other snack foods. I never had a slowdown on my weight loss when I had popcorn, and I ate it throughout the entire time I was "losing."
heart: I can so totally relate to your story. I took Britt & Lane to Pizza Hut yesterday since Britt has 5 coupons to use up for personal pizzas (from a reading program at school), and then we went over to Fry's to buy a few groceries. They wanted to sit in a car cart, and one of the steering wheels was broken. I put Lane on the side with the wheel, and just told them to take turns. Any time that Britt would even try to touch that wheel, Lane would let out a blood curdling shreik, and everyone looked. I HATE to let her get her way, but sometimes I have to give in. I told Britt to just leave the steering wheel alone so it wouldn't upset her. AT home, I let her get as mad as she wants, and let her yell and scream, but in public, you can't always do that....expecially when you are just 2 minutes into your shopping trip. Thank heavens they give us those wonderful special loving moments to offset those other times  .
Jack-K: Is it o.k. for you to be out walking yet? I'm sure it is or you wouldn't be doing it....right? I am so glad they only found the cancer in one lymphnode and that they took immediate action to get it and others out of there. My SIL was diagnosed with BC about two years ago, and they thought she was stage 3-4; it didn't look good at all. They found cancer in 7 nodes, I believe. They removed all the nodes and she went through chemo and radiation, BUT DID NOT have a masectomy (I would have)! She has been in remission since, and we pray she stays there. As we do for you!!! Thanks for the advice on Lane; it is very good advice. I love her with all my heart, and always remember the struggle we had to get her here. Trying for nearly two years, and a miscarriage in the process. I prayed for another baby with every once of my being, and was blessed with a precious beautiful child. I would rather deal with this any day than to not have been able to have another child.
Suzy: Stay strong and away from that junkfood. Remember how good you feel when you are OP!!! I totally agree; I woulnd't trade Lane for anything on this earth, but she truly tests my patience and parenting abilities. Both of my girls look alike, just Lane is much bigger than Britt. Britt has always been tall and thin, and Lane is tall and big. Britt was 31#'s at her 3-year check-up; Lane is 30#'s already. Britt has hazel eyes and brown hair, and Lane has dark brown eyes and brown hair. I hope Lane's attitude changes by school age, or I may as well just pack a bag and hang out at the school for all the parent-teacher meetings  .
Teensy: Sounds like a fabulous Valentine's Day!!! Glad you have detoxed and are back on a roll. I am re-committed too, and hope to stay OP for the long haul. Good luck on those stubborn last 8#'s.
vmoore: Congrats on the 1.5#'s...that's fantastic!!!
Well, I better go! I am so glad I didn't lose this novel post.
Have a great day.
Take care,
Nat

Hi,
I am not doing a weigh in today but I have good news from the doctor about the blood test that I took before I left Dallas. The cholesterol is down to 151 which is just wonderful from having it well over 200 last November. Triglycerides, 132, HDL 50, LDL 75 and ratio is 3. I think the improved lower fat diet (still staying with SB rules) and all the walking plus the new medication Zetia added worked. I have been getting a lot of exercise shopping since I have been at my daughter's but I's best get out there to just walk in the neighborhood today. I would hate not to be able to fit into my jeans here just before the get together.
Subway will let you put any of their sandwiches on a wrap also.
Beth: Such good news from you. It is great to reach a goal.
Gatorgal: I bet that salad tastes wonderful!
VMoore: Glad to hear the good news from you aso.
Teensybean: Yeah for you breaking through the sugar. Those last 8 pounds are hard since you already look and feel good but I know you can go the whole way. 100 pounds...amazing!
Sef: You sounds like so much fun. I can hardly wait to see you in person.
Jack-K: You must be one tough lady to already be out walking and putting together dinner.
SuzyB: I will need to check into those whole wheat bagels to have something a little different for breafast. I seem to be stuck on oatmeal with peanut butter.
Sorry I missed people. Hope everyone has a really fine day.

I just did my WATP 1 mile tape with weights. I really like it. Makes it much easier to walk when the weather is bad.
Gator- congrats on your veggies!! I sometimes wish i didnt have to eat so many but im sure when you cant have them its pretty bad.
Beth- Congrats!!! I love the 5 lb loses!!! I think im past them now and into the 1- 1 1/2 lbs lose. But a lose is a lose!!!Let that be you motivation to get through the b-day party...eat the toppings off of a slice or two if you need to but NO crust. You are stronger than a piece of pizza and a slice of cake.
Ponch- I saw the commercial for the Ab Scissor. Let me know how you like it. It looks really cool. Congrats on your B!!! That is fantastic!!
When you talk about Lane it reminds me of my daughter. She was a handful and had me in tears of despair for many many years. Sometimes i felt like such an awful mother...and sometimes i felt like why did God "bless" me with a such an awful child. Sad but true. The good news is she is 17 now and the biggest blessing in my life. What they said about her personality being good in the teen years in soo true. Heather is a leader, not a follower. And if a friend of hers leads their life in a way she dont believe in...poof! they are gone. She is extremely anti drug and has tossed ppl out of her life over it. She knows what she wants out of life and noone will stop her. She is also the underdogs best friend. New kids in school, or the one that for some reason no one likes ...she is the first to bring them into "her" group of friends. Shes great and it sounds like you got one just like her. I am glad now that she was a handful at a young age....and now a blessing as a young woman.
Ok im done. Sorry for the book, but i know how you feel and feel free to sound off of me anytime.
Have a great day!!!!!!! I plan on it!

Yes, it is snowing here. I think we have about 4 inches by now and it is still coming down. That is okay - we are not leaving the house. We may not even leave our pajamas! The kids are lying in my bed under the covers watching a Scooby Doo movie from Comcast On Demand (free movies from the cable company). I am watching Ellen as I type this - nothing like a good chuckle in the morning . . .
Okay - now down to business. The scale was basically the same this morning - might even be up a pound from last time I weighed in - can't remember. It was 120-121 (kept changing as I took more clothes off :smug: ). In any event, and I may have mentioned this before - but I am going to do like Teensey and "start over". I'm hoping that this time I can keep this commitment for more than a few days. I am going to take some time today and look over Risa's webpages again, the recipe board and maybe even the exercise board. I think (other than being stuck at a plateau) that I am bored . . . and that is why I have been wandering with a bite here and a taste there - which is obviously not helping me with any weight loss. I also took my measurements this morning and plan to do that each week after weigh in to see if there is any change over a period of time. Don't get me wrong - I am very happy where I am today - my clothes are a lot looser, my face has thinned out and people have noticed a weight loss - but I am afraid (and I know myself too well) that I will get so bored that I'll throw my hands up in the air and say :censored: it - I have lost weight - why can't I have a candy bar, cookies, ice cream, etc.? I know myself too well and I know that I am at that point. So, with that being said (thanks for listening :thanks: ) I am going to try and reprogram myself today. I need that feeling of excitment and anticipation of being on a diet (I know that sounds queer) and the hope of a loss - anyone know what I mean?
Okay - I'm going to work out now and then go through my recipes and try and plan the rest of my week. This morning for breakfast I had a half of grapefruit and three pieces of bacon. Probably not enough - I know that may be a big part of my problem. For lunch I'm thinking of a yogurt and a big salad with a half of a ww pita. Dinner will probably be homemade chicken soup with brown rice. I'm sure at some point I'll need a snack so that is where the apple and peanuts will come in. Of course, this is all subject to change as I might find something new and exciting on Risa's pages or the recipe board! :s:
Thanks for listening . . . I'll check in later (b/c, of course, I'll need the reinforcement and reminder of my "new" commitment before I shove the chocolate chip cookies down my throat . . . )

Thought this was really cute :)
How come when you mix water and flour together
you get glue.. and then you add eggs and sugar...
and you get cake?
Where did the glue go?
NEED AN ANSWER?
You know darned well where it went!
That's what makes the cake...

It's day's like this that make me not like sharing on WIW...back up a pound to 159.5. Except for like one day in the last 6 weeks I have been so OP and exerersing and haven't lost an OUNCE. It sure was easy to put on 5 pounds in the six weeks before that. I got so perturbed I ate 4 or 5 pieces of SF candy for breakfast. I gave the rest away before I get even more stupid. But ya know....it's hard sometimes to fight so hard to stay at the same weight. For 2 years I maintained and didn't lose working my tail off. Let myself slip and now the weight is sticking around. I'm praying it will come off soon.
CONGRATULATIONS to all this weeks losers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WTG
I've been sitting at this computer far too long this morning so I need to scoot.

Good morning! WIW is the same for me, but that is okay. I have had three days of great work outs. I have been pushing myself more, and trying to make sure each one is perfect. I sure worked up a sweat this week!! Hope to show something next week.
Forgot to mention that I spent all day Monday in town with my bestfriend, Carie. We have spent the last couple of President's Day's doing our Thrift Store shopping. And I mean we spent ALL day there. I was so tired when I got home. And my legs actually ached. Some of my great finds were a brand new humidifier for $5, I bought 2 full size matteress pads for the boat for $2 each. I found a couple of denim jumpers and shorts for .95 each. And a ball cap thing for dh so that he can wash his hats in the dishwasher, for .89! We had a great salad for lunch at a place called the Atrium. Which as you can guess what filled with beautiful plants. All in all, it was a great day. Hope we can do it again next year!!
On to some replies for the day--
Jack-k-- Welcome home, and it is so nice to hear that you are doing so very well. 3 weeks ahead of schedule, and already out walking. You go girl!! Just please don't over do!! And I hope you enjoyed your birthday!!
V-- Congrats on making your goal. You are doing fantastic!!
Gator-- Enjoy that salad!! My girlfriend and I spent Monday thrift shopping, and we stopped for lunch at this nice little place called the Atrium. The had what they called a Chopped Salad. It was lettuce, a bit of shredded carrot, tomatoes, cukes, avocado's, boiled eggs, artichoke hearts, and bacon bits. This was served with a Dijon Mustard Vinegarette. It was wonderful. I plan on trying to make it at home!!
Beth-- Congrats on the 5 pound loss.....who cares if it is water....it is 5 POUNDS of water!!
Pancho-- It is funny that you said that about your children. My youngest sister said that if her son, Cody had been born first....Jo, her daughter, would not be here today!! Glad you had a great vacation, and that the scales still behaved for you!!
Yellowrose-- Great results on your blood test!! I have been trying really hard to get mine down too. I don't want to be on meds for it. Hoping that when I get retested it is okay!!
Suzy-- How much more do you wish to lose? You are already pretty tiny!! Good luck to you, I think the first day was the hardest for me. Don't be afraid to eat a little higher fat foods as you are really cutting down on the carbs. It helps to keep you feeling full!!
Country-- I truly think that maybe your body has reaches IT'S goal. It may be at it's best weight. As long as you are not gaining, I think it is okay to stay the same. One pound is probably water weight anyway! And look how great you feel with all the walking you are doing. You are healthy, and that is what counts.
Well, guess that is it for now......

Good afternoon.
Got on here alot later than I expected. Spent a long time at the Dr. He is leaving on vacation tomorrow so I guess all his patients were there today. He removed 2 tubes. Only 1 left. It should go next Wed. I have one spot on my new boob that is pretty bruised, but he thinks he will be ok eventually.
Came home ate lunch and took a 25 minute walk (slowly). It is still alittle brisk out there. Not near as warm as they predicted.
WIW was the same I think. Haven't had time to go back to my journal to see what it was the last time I weighed. I will take it considering all the illegal stuff we have been eating. A friend sent a candy boquet today. About 10 little minature bars in colored papers. Pretty but dangerous. DH will devour it tonight I'm sure. I only had 1 piece and there are only 2 left on there that I even like. Hopefully he will beat me to them.
I appreciate the gesture, but my friends know we are dieting so why do they send stuff like that. I don't mean to sound ungrateful, but think people.
SuzyB, that BB game sounds like a heartbreaker. I would have to get A Samantha shirt from S*C. I guess I would be embarrassed to wear it. Take one day at a time, hide those goodies. I know what you mean about the excitement of a diet. I felt it too. Can't wait to get started and jump into it. You can do it.
Sef, I bet your group sounds beautiful. Glad your eating is better.
Teensy, glad you are back. WTG getting those 6 ounds off and getting rid of that sugar craving. I was watching TV and the doorbell rang and it was a candy boquet. About 10 minature cany bars. It is cute. DH will love it. I confess I did eat 1 little one. Wow, a diamond ring! What did you do to deserve that?
VMoore:  WTG on kicking those 200's to the curb. Now just keep on going down.
Gator, Hey, welcome back to veggies. I Love those Ugli fruits too. Taste a lot like grapefruit and I love those too.
Beth, 5 pounds is awesome. Who cares what it is, water or fat, it is gone, gone gone. Keep up the good work.
Pancho, sounds like you are back at it. Exercise and all. You should get a good grade on your paper with all you know about SB. WTG on the B.Yes I can be walking. It is slow going, but that is ok. Today I went a little farther. Prayers that your SIL stays in remission. I can't believe she didn't have the mastecomy.
Yellow, great news on the blood tests. Something is working. Enjoy all that shopping with your DD. Are you going to hve room in your suitcase for all the new stuff?
Country, you had better share. Hang in there, I know it is hard with no results, but something is working right somewhere, just not on the scale. I bet something fits looser (is that a word?). Don't get discouraged and binge. Then you will have more to take off.
Time for Opray :D . I am going to try to go to bunco tonight. I figure I can sit there as well as home. I will only stay a couple hours. Plus DH has to run out for a couple hours and I don't want to be here all alone again.
Have a grat night. See you tomorrow.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!
My sinus and respiratory infection is back, and I just pick up $100 worth of meds to take. LEVAQUIN, METHLYPREDNISOLONE & HUMIBID. Not sure what all of this is, but it better do the trick!
It's been cold over here...well for us any way. Low 40's at night and morning with the windshield factor in the 30's! We only have cold weather for a few weeks normally, but this year, it's been a lot longer.
JACKIE...Got your note. Glad you're feeling better and I know you're glad to have those tubes out! When that last one comes out, you'll feel like a new woman! Stay warm, you sure don't want to get sick on top of all this!
COLLEEN...WAY TO GO ON GETTING THAT DIAMOND!!! You must have done something right! :o I've missed you being here...glad you're back!
COUNTRY...that's got to be water weight ;)
ROSE...That's a good one...I'll have to pass that along!
SUZY...stay warm...that snow can really be annoying can't it? I don't miss that at all...I'll take the cold wind any day!
VMOORE...way to go on WATP.... we do that at work...
BETH...WAY TO GO ON THAT 5LBS!!! :bravo:
NAT...We'll have to get some yellow stars for you and your studies!!!
GATOR...Glad to hear that your tummy can take the salad again. I know you've missed your veggies! I fixed some turnip greens that other day and thought about you and how you would love to have some good ones!
I'm off to fix supper...

BOB- Like the pic!
WIW- I was back at 169. So at least that WAS good. I've been wanting to eat so much today. It's all been legal, but just too much and my water intake isn't as good as it normally is. At least I got my 4 mile WATP tape in. Ashley is sick, so I took her to the doc. Sinus infection,etc..antibiotics, nose spray and antihistamine. She'll be driving me crazy by tomorrow. I have a cold also, so my sinuses are icky and my eyes puffy and irritated. This is my FOURTH cold this season! Gee whiz, I'll be glad when the season is over. Well, not much else to report for now. Going to the ABC site and see what they got in.

HiedeeHo All!
Busy day. Went into the attic hole to get suitcase. Tried to move a couple of things my DD is too have, it was all too much so gave up. But I did bring out the suitcase for the wing-ding! Also worked framng three projects. Made frank/bean casserole and cornbread (not for me!) for supper. I'm tired for some reason.
No weigh-in but, I put on a shirt and jeans today with only a bra and panties on (I usually wear a briefer) and they fit! Bra also went to the next row of hookeyes!
I really don't feel like sitting here. I'm going to get comfy and curl up with my puzzles. I'm not even going to choir practice, but I won't be there Sunday so it won't hurt too much if I play hookey.

Hi there -
I'm waiting for my newest painting project to dry and thought I would jump on. Eating went well . . . lunch was cheese and an apple and some carrots. Didn't feel like making a salad (lazy girl today). Dinner was the homemade chicken soup and a grilled cheese sandwich. Need to have another big glass of water, but I should be okay without any other food.
BOB - I don't usually comment on politics because it only gets me in trouble. I'll just say that I LOVE your image at the end of your post! So sorry to hear that you are sick again. When I use to get my sinus infections (they seem to have stopped since I have cut out the sugar), I would sometimes need to be on an antibiotic a couple of times before it would clear up. Get some rest and hang in there . . .
VMOORE - I skimmed the recipe boards, but didn't write any down yet. Probably will tomorrow when I'm thinking about what to eat.
SEF - I have been having one of those "on the couch" days myself. I forced myself to work out and do some painting just so I wouldn't be in front of the t.v. all day.
TEENSY: I need to lose about another 5-6 pounds (according to what my doctor told me I should weigh). I am somewhat small - my pants are a size 8 and are loose, but I'm just shy of 5 feet tall, so 5 or 6 pounds is probably about right. I'm probably stuck because I don't have that much more to lose, but like you and COUNTRY, I get frustrated when you work so hard and the scale doesn't move. I suppose if I looked at the positive, it is good that the scale didn't move. It could have always gone up . . . right? I'll be okay with the help of my SB friends . . .
Okay - need to finish up. Will check in tomorrow - hope all is well.

Thanks for all the WTG's on this WIW for me everyone... and I want to say, while at Chuck E Cheese, I resisted the pizza!! I had a nice huge salad, and 2 hot wings. When it came to the birthday cake... there was a piece sitting in front of me, and I tried several times to convince myself it would be ok to eat it... and then I thought of coming back here and telling you all I did after you all believed so strong in me... especially vmoore's saying "you are stronger than pizza and cake"
YES I WAS... I didn't eat either!! I resisted the cake, and left the leftover cake there at CEC so I wouldn't be tempted at home tomorrow!!
Thanks for believing in me everyone, it really does make a difference in the choices I make when I know you're all rooting for me (and knowing that I'll have to "fess up" if I slip!! LOL) :goodvibes:
G'nite!!

BOB--Hate the pic!!
I really loved my salad today. It was soooo good. We went out to dinner before our class tonight and I had shrimp over stewed veggies--green peppers, cauliflower, squashes, tomatoes, and a little cheese melted on top. Had some hummus and pita for appetizer. Yummm. Probably will have a boiled egg with some spinach tomorrow morning, or maybe some oatmeal. Oh boy, I love oatmeal. I'm feeling so great!
I didn't weigh today. I actually forgot, and I start pretty early with the vitamins and lots of water, so if I don't do it before I take the vitamins, I might as well forget it.
Congrats to all the losers.

It's a wet and windy Wednesday night! We need the rain SO BAD, so I'm glad even though it is so darn windy. Been a sore day for me so I'm about ready for bed and it's only 6pm! Down 1/2 pound since last week, need to take a look at my eating and make some exchanges adding fruits and veggies for other carbs I think, plus my dairy in my coffee might be keeping my loss slowed.

Just checking in before bed. I have been trying to get up earlier so I can get my work out done a bit earlier than I was. Some nights my dogs don't let us get a very good nights rest, but other nights I die.
Hope you all have a great OP day tomorrow, and hope that the Whoosh Fairy finds all of you!!
Jack-k-- I agree with you, people KNOW that you are doing this woe as a wol, and what do they do?? At least they could have made it sugar free chocolates!! I really don't know what I did to deserve the ring, because he is usually not a present buying kind of guy. Most years I have been lucky to have received a nice card. But he sure made up for it this year. And the ring is gorgeous!!
BOB-- When I used to get severe sinus infections, it would take at least two full scripts before I would start feeling better. I have been very fortunate and not had any since cutting out the sugar in my diet. That is almost three years now!! Hope you feel better soon.
Laurie--Sorry that you and Ashley are sick. I don't know why some get the colds and others don't. Maybe you will get it all out of the way now, and be cold free for the rest of the year.
V-- I like trying new recipes. It is surprising how many foods I like now, that I didn't before. Tastes have really changed.
Sef-- I hope that you have a great time with all the other gals. Wish we could all be there!!
Suzy-- That is the same reason I am trying to get to 150. Doctor said that is what I should weigh! But my body seems to have a mind of its own. We will all just keep plugging along.
Beth-- You did fantastic....pizza and cake!! Wooo Hooo!! If you did that, you can pass up anything. Good for you!!
Gator-- It's like being a kid in a candy store isn't it. That is how I felt when I started SB and could eat apples and oranges again!!
Id-- Way to go on the loss!! I would be happy with a .5 loss right now!!
V-- I just bought some for the first time. I am not a big milk person anyway. I only use 2 oz in my cereal. I thought the cereal tasted sweeter, maybe thats why.
Good night all.........sweet dreams.

Having great fun eating all my good old foods. Breakfast this morning: 1 soft boiled egg on a bed of spinach, along with a small bowl of course cut oatmeal. Soooo good.
At the holistic doctor's yesterday, I learned something I thought I'd pass along. After taking a bunch of antibiotics, your digestive track is "cleansed" of ALL bacteria, even the good bacteria that helps you digest your food and helps you utilize all the vitamins in it. Also, when you don't have that good bacteria in your system, you are at risk for getting candida yeast in your system, which causes you to crave sugar. That yeast wants to be fed! So, taking acidophilus helps restore that good bacteria. Furthermore, during the time I was eating all that non-fiber "junk" (whipped potatoes, white bread, white rice, sugar, etc) my body went back to its former cravings for sugar. They told me it is like a cigarette smoker getting off cigarettes, or a coffee drinker getting off coffee. It is hard for a week or two, but after that period, if one abstains totally from sugar/starch, then those cravings for sweets goes away. Apparently even drinking diet sodas keeps the cravings alive because we get used to that very sweet taste and want to keep satisfying our need for it. I just found all that very interesting, and it was helpful to my resolve to eat healthy and stay off the sugar. It is so great not to be a slave to cravings.
BOB--I hope you start feeling better.
Debbie--Hope you are doing well.
Jackie--I'm so happy that you sound so great.
I hope everyone found that article for which I posted the URL interesting. Morning everybody. I have sure been enjoying these "Chamber of Commerce" days we're having in Central Texas. The weather has been absolutely gorgeous. I made fajitas last night, but they weren't all that great. These were pre-marinated beef. I usually use the chicken or pork from the same store and they're great. Oh, well. Tonight is sausage on the grill with some sauerkraut and a ww tortilla.
Gotta run. Lots to do at work today, since I'm taking tomorrow and Monday off for the hoop-tee-do at Missy's. See you guys later.

Good Thursday morning:
I can't believe it is Thursday already. We got back from trip on Monday, and Britt was off school Tuesday, so it seems like a Tuesday and is really Thursday...I can handle that. I hope to get to the gym today when Britt is in school. But....as you all know, that all depends on Lane. Britt goes back to the Naturopathic doctor today; I told him that I am not seeing the results I had hoped to yet, and that I am getting discouraged. He said some treatments take up to 4-6 months to see results. I guess I am just anxious and not wanting to see Britt hurt anymore!! They want to check to see if she is still in "balance." They gave me some digestive enzymes yesterday to give to her with her food, and they want her to have a little "flush" of the system (via enema), and have some acidophilus put in there. She tested positive for yeast, and they want to rid her system of it; so I have to get that scheduled soon.
My DH got my Ab Scissor set up last night, and I tried it this morning, but the resistance was too easy. I adjusted it up one, and I think it will be a little more of a challenge. The last few reps s/b tough, and they weren't. I will try it again tomorrow or Sat. It says to only do it every other day or 3-4 times per week since your ab muscles (like every other muscle in your body) needs 24-36 hours rest/repair time prior to exerting them again. It's funny how some people truly think the more they work their muscles, the better. It's quite the opposite. Once you work those muscles too many times within the allotted resting time frame, you are breaking down muscle fiber and not building muscle. I actually would like to have my DH take a front, side and back picture of me in a two-piece, and then do the same in a month. Otherwise, it may be tough for me to see the difference. Women's ab muscles don't cut up like a man's do. I wish I would have taken some "before" pictures of me before I lost all this weight, maybe then it would be easier for me to see my success! I think I was too afraid of failure when I started, so I didn't want any "fat" pictures around.
Breakfast was wonderful, and I think I am truly back on track. I had a bowl of oatmeal with frozen blueberries, agave syrup, flax meal & nuts, and a small glass of milk. That will definately fill me up for quite awhile. I was still at 120.5# this morning, and am still blown away by that. I ate so much on the trip and didn't exercise for a week. I wonder if it has anything to do with muscle/water weight. I'll never quite figure it out. I remember when I was on Atkins though that I kept reading that if you go off Atkins and eat whatever you want and then go back on that it would jumpstart your metabolism and you would lose quicker. I always thought that was a bunch of crap, but who knows??? I am just happy it didn't get out of control and that I am in total control now. I am eating right and back to exercising, and a happy camper!
Yellow: Congrats on the new cholesterol numbers; that is fantastic!!! Keep up the great work.
vmoore: Glad to hear that you Dd has turned out to be such a good, strong young adult. She sounds a lot like my niece, who is now 21 and still hasn't been on a date; no one meets her standards. She was involved in the DARE programs, etc. Quite a different story here though....my parents have raised her since her mother (my older sister) was too messed up to. I won't get into too many of the details. Anyway, she is a great kid too. I pray for the same with both of my girls. I am still a little confused about that carb countdown milk. It was explained like this to me: the sugar is taken out of the milk and replaced with Splenda. Well, milk has natural sugars in it...how do you take that out? I could see if it was sweetened with sugar, and they replaced that with Splenda, but how do they take a narually occuring sugar out and replace it? I am happy with my skim milk, and will probably just hang with that for awhile.
Country: I hope that weight comes off soon; sounds like a true plateau to me. Have you cut out/back on starchy carbs? It is so amazing how fast it can come on and how hard it is to take it back off. Do you do any strength training? It helps burn calories longer than cardio...you may want to see if you can squeeze any of it into your already too busy schedule ;) . Hang in there!
Teensy: Sounds like an awesome day out with your friend. What a fun tradition.
Beth: Great job avoiding that cake; that is a downfall for many. Cake has never been much of a temptation for me. I went to many birthday parties when losing this weight, and passed up on the cake without any problems whatsoever; it was always the appetizer/food items that were the toughest. As far as sweets...the ones that get me are the chocolate, caramelly, nutty things. You keep up the good work, and keep us posted on your wonderful progress!!
ldblond: If you are using skim milk and not drinking your coffee diluted 50/50, and not drinking 5 cups a day, I can't imagine the milk being the culprit here. YOu may want to start with replacing some of your other carbs with the fruits/veggies (more veggies than fruit), and I bet you see the numbers start to come down more.
Well, I better get going...have a few things to do before taking Britt to school.
Take care,
Nat

Good Thursday Morning,
How is everyone today? Went to bunco last night. It was so good to get out for awhile. All the girls work their p.j.'s so I wouldn't feel out of place. But I work my sweatsuit so I was the one out of place. It was so funny. That was so sweet of them. I told them next month they will all have to shave their heads with me.
They say when it rains it pours. Now I think my DH will have to have vascular surgery soon. He has always had this hanging mass of veins at the back of his knee. They are really ugly. Last night they are all gone. Now there is just this nice smooth bulge on his leg, about the size of a water balloon. I called my Dr friend and he thinks the valves have ruptured. He is trying to get him in a vascular dr. today or tomorrow. I was afraid he would have a stroke. But he says that is not likely. Our only other concern that it could be a vascular anurysism (sp) and that word scares me to death. I can handle things with me, but anything with Dh scare me to death. At least if he does have to have surgery I will be home to take care of him and we can keep each other company.
BOB, $100 worth of meds ought to do the trick. Feel better soon.
Heartmom, hope you and Ashley feel better soon.
VMoore, how were those potatoes? Did you use the cauliflower?
Sef, WTG on those clothe fitting and new bra hooks too! What a nice feeling.
Suzy, those last few pounds are killers. hey just don't seem to want to leave. Just keep OP and exercise and they will finally leave.
Beth:   WTG girl. I knew you could resist the pizza and cake. I am so proud of your. Just another day under your belt. Keep up the good work.
Gator, I don't think I have ever seen anyone so excited over veggies. Glad you enjoyed them. That is interesting about the bacteria. I agree sugar is an addiction just like cigarettes.
IDblond, a half pound is better than nothing or a gain. Take it and enjoy it.
Teensy, maybe your Dh was just counting his blessings and realized he needed to be thankful for you.
Trish, have fun at Missy's. Have some extra fun for me will ya?
Pancho, you are lucky all your bad eating didn't affect your weight. One meal can do it for me. I am dying to exercise again, but it will probably be awhile for that.
Got to run, I want to try to pick up this place and maybe do some dusting and light cleaning in the bathroom.
Be back later.

Goodday everyone!!
Nat- not sure how the carb countdown milk is done...but with you drinking skim milk thats great...i cant drink skim. The best i can do is 2%. So with the carb countdown i am atleast cutting down on the fat.
Jackie- The mock potatoes ( cauliflower) were pretty good...not my favorite but a good change. I also got a sheppards pie recipie that uses the mock potatoes and i think i will like it a lot better with the other ingrediants in the pie. I also tried a homemade whipped topping made with nonfat dry milk, water, vanilla extract and a packet of equal. It was great on my sf jello. I also froze some and ate it as a sort of ice cream. Not bad at all ;)
Well, housework calls..grrrrr It is so depressing sometimes to think about all i really "need" to be doing...lol
Bye for now

Sorry yesterday's post was cut short, I really wasn't feeling very good and just couldn't stand to be sitting in front of the computer to read and post. I saw my PT yesterday who is concerned that my RSD is in a flared state and needs to be controlled, she is having her office try to get WC to approve some pool therapy. Cross your fingers!
My little guy is on 3 different types of meds just to control his allergies, poor thing, Dr. says he'll probably end up napping a lot for the next few days. He looks better this morning so I'm hoping it will work fairly quickly and we can ween him off at least the one that makes him so sleepy all the time.
I was reading a brief tip from one of my emails about the new low carb craze in the food industry. I think I need a lesson in sugar alcohols, I checked my SB book but it doesn't say much. I don't want to sabatoge myself by eating foods I think are ok, but really aren't. Any input?
Beth: You reminded me that I haven't been drinking ALL of my water lately! Congratulations on the loss and not eating the pizza and cake!
HeartMom: Congratulations on getting your license! Isn't it great to see how much you have changed even if the photo isn't your best! I remember when I first lost my weight I had my work ID changed and I really could see the difference!
vmoore: Congratulations on breaking into the 180's! You're doing great, keep up the good work!
Jack-K: Out walking, wow! Glad you are feeling so good. When it rains it pours, I hope the Dr. can see your DH right away! My prayers for both of you. By the way, if I haven't mentioned it - I read your signature everytime and it says a lot to me, thank you.
Suzy: I totally know what you mean! You have come way to far to allow yourself to slip, I'm glad you're looking for SB ways to come out ofyour boredem. My empathy comes from experience, when I was very close to reaching my goal in 2001, I allowed myself the "ocassional" sweet because I thought that I could handle it since I'd lost my weight, it turned into the perverbial snowball syndrome and I gained and gained until I restarted SB about a month ago with a 20lb gain! It's a mental thing for me, I keep some of Deb's MMs around to remind me that I'm on the right path. Also, for me it's really important to remember it's a way of life, NOT a diet. One thing I really struggle with is meal planning, I don't know where to begin, so I seem to stare at the fridge and end up with the constant tuna or salmon from a can. Would you offer any ideas to get started?
BOB: Sorry your still feeling awful! I hope the meds do the trick!
SEF: YEAH! Congratulations on losing the inches! Isn't it fun to fit into the clothes you haven't worn for awhile!
Teensybean: You really have done an incredible job with your weightloss, I know you can lose those last pesky pounds! Your Thrift shopping trip sounded fun! My sister lives in Tacoma and since I've never been there (hopefully I can go soon) don't know where she shops, but she gets some awesome deals too!
GatorGal: I'm glad their letting you have veggies again. I hope you really get to feeling better soon!
Pancho: Congratulations on your test! If you don't mind me asking, what class(es) are you taking? Thanks for the carb input, I drink 2% and use splenda, another cuprit maybe. But I think you're right, the 1st thing to do is add in veggies, which I bought at the store last night and more water. Thanks again. By the way, I think we might be the only west coasters...I'm originally from AZ, a lot of my family still lives there.
Yellowrose: Glad to hear your blood tests are showing that your health is improving. Deb's always said that's what the SB lifestyle is all about - proofs in the (sf) pudding!
Country: You have done so well, don't beat yourself up! It will come off in time.
Cheryl: Haven't heard from you in awhile, hope everything is ok and that your daughter is getting better.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!
The BOSS sent me home. AND the DR called in another script for me to take! This one was only $10...I swear, I'll be totally medicated this weekend...I better get out and get some good movies to watch!
HERE'S SOME GOOD NEWS FOR ONCE....we have rescued a 1yr old TACO BELL DOG (sorry, can't spell the breed) Her name is YaYa, she's solid black and weighs 1 1/2 lbs! She's so tiny, but very glad to be with us! She sleep with me in the crook of my arm pit! She came from a home with three little children and they terrorized her, so being in a docile home is new to her! I have to get her fixed, but she's healthy :crossed: and loves to be held and loved. Loves the outdoors and sprints like a deer!
JACKIE...sorry to hear about DH, I'm glad you're getting this taken care of right away. The actual surgery is not a bad one, but he will be sore afterward..and I mean sore! If y'all have to have bad luck, it's better to get it over with all at once! I'll keep my good thoughts and prayers coming your way!
GATOR...thanks for the info on the antibiotics...after all I've had to take (three weeks already, and now ten more days) I'll need to get my system back in working order. Glad you had a good meal after all this time...did your system handle the veggies ok?
LARA...I better be feeling better soon after paying out all this $$$$$ THANKS for the well wishes!
VMOORE...I saw an ad for the LOW CARB YOGURT..have you tried that yet?
I love yogurt, any way you serve it, so I'm going to try and find this and try it. I've seen the milk, but haven't bought any yet.
NAT...Poor BRITT...I hope she feels better soon, she's to young to have to go through all of this. Keep us posted. Glad you got your AB SISSORS...you should see results pretty soon....
TRISH...RAISE ONE FOR ME AT MISSY'S....I'm sorry I won't be there, but now that I've gotten sick again, I can't imagine what I would have done if this had hit me on the road (which it would have) Have a good time!
COLLEEN...This is my second..no third round of meds...if this doesn't do it, I don't know where we'll go from here! I hate to think about the thoughts of going to an ENT... :(
SUZY...we're on the same wave length on the election...I'm afraid that SUSAN and GATOR don't and wont agree.
Well, I think I've hit everyone. I'm going to bed!

BOB-Girl, we'll probably raise several to everybody, LOL. I think Missy and I could be dangerous and Shirley, well she's clearly gonna be out of control, teehee! Just a quick thought on your sinus infection. I had the best doctor before he retired, in addition to being an MD, he also had a Ph.D. in anatomy and physiology. He always did his own cultures and made you come out and look to see what was growing. Anyhoo, he said that the sinuses are the most inefficient part of the body. They actually kind of lay flat so that on their best days they don't drain well. Then you add to that the dark warm damp environment that is a perfect breeding ground for bacteria. It's absolutely one of the hardest types of infections to get rid of. Hope you're feeling better soon.

Hey all - Finally got off my well-known and did something today! The boys and I went to Walmart (always an experience) and the kids got the Buttery Soft animals - Walmart's version of Build-A-Bear - and then we went to the library. I also managed to clean the house today too - so I'm feeling really good about myself since I could very easily have laid on the couch all day reading or watching the boob tube. This vacation has actually been good for us b/c we really needed a few "free" days - days where we didn't even leave the house.
The amazing thing for me, actually, is the fact that I've been home all week and have managed not to grab the occasional "treat" here and the illegal food there - 3rd day in a row of 100% OP - can't remember if I was totally good on Monday or not. Today I have had 2 oranges, coffee and one piece of sgww toast with natural pb for breakfast, lunch was a yogurt, cheese and a cup of my homemade chicken soup (minus the rice b/c I want my other carb for dinner!), snack was some peanuts and I'm thinking about some legal hot chocolate right about now. Dinner - my favorite - will be homemade pizza on a ww tortilla with garlic, tomatoes and cheese! So - who knows, I realize now that I am definetly at a plataeu with my weight, but I'm hanging in there and as so many of you reminded me yesterday - this isn't a diet - it is a woe, so I really have no choice but to hang in there. However, I figure if I am still the same weight come Easter, I may pull a totally non-legal weekend and eat whatever I choose and perhaps jump start my metabolism (as Pancho mentioned). However, I thought I had tried that at Xmas and ended up gaining 2 pounds! Who knows - I won't plan anything drastic just yet . . .
JACKK - Sorry to hear about your DH! Luckily for you to have a friend who is a doctor. Keep us updated on his progress - and we'll keep you both in our prayers.
BOB - Home again? Good for you! Unfortunately it stinks that you are sick! Haven't seen any real good movies lately to recommend to you except I saw Miracle in the theaters this past weekend. It was good - a real good family movie. How about reading? Do you enjoy it at all? I have a lot of good books I could recommend if that was the case . . . As far as the upcoming election - it looks like my first choice will be the democratic candidate - which makes me happy. I like Kerry b/c when my husband's company was on strike a few years ago, he and his wife came down and walked the picket line with the guys, tried assisting with the negotiations and hung around until a settlement was reached. I know it could have all been for the publicity, but something about that has always stuck with me and I just plain and simple like him. And it is okay if people aren't on "our" page - that is why we live in America - everyone can have their own opinion. Mine is just always right - just kidding!!!!!! Congrats on YaYa - she has a great new Mommy!
IBLOND - I wish I could give you some new "meal" suggestions! As you can see from above, my menu is basically the same. The homemade soup is good though b/c frankly you can make it legal and it does fill you up. It is also great for quick fixes when your schedule doesn't permit a lot of time in the kitchen. You and I sound alike when it comes to dieting. It is a good thing I stepped on the scale yesterday b/c I could so easily see myself "rewarding my weight loss" all week with non-legal goodies! If I come up with any good meal ideas, I'll let you know . . .
VMOORE - Thanks for the suggestion of the "whip cream". I'm always looking for something sweet to try!
PANCHO - Let me know how that ab scissor thing works after you have had a chance to try it for a few weeks. Unfortunately, I think my "ab" problem will not cure itself w/o medical treatment! I have had two c-sections and have what is called the "fold" over my scar. I do every kind of ab exercise and although I can see it working on my upper abs, my lower abs are shot to ****. My DH says that since I have started SB, he can see that it has shrunk, which I know it has from my clothes. But I am afraid that the "fold" will be there forever . . .
TEENSY - First, let me say that I'm sorry I didn't mention your BIG VD gift before! I meant too, but got too caught up in replying to this one and that one that I didn't remember it until I just read your other post! Congrats! Isn't that so exciting????? My DH is like that too - we never exchange really big gifts for any occasion (even Xmas is like limited to $150.00 or so), but twice he has surprised me with new rings. Mind you, I handle the money in the house so any chance for him to ever splurge is limited b/c of access to funds! One was a new setting for my diamond, which he gave me for my 30th birthday. He managed to get the ring by selling his Ryder Cup tickets for big money (wasn't aware that golf tickets were so demanding) and the other was a diamond band a few years later, (for our 10th anniversary) which he managed by hitting a $500.00 scratch ticket. So, even though every day isn't decorated with flowers and gifts, when it happens it seems so extra special! Congrats again - you deserve it!
Okay - I'll check in later. Think I'll read for a while . . .

Hey guys, getting ready for exercise class. I'm doing good with staying on track, but my portions are huge. Anyway, I took my measurements this AM. The last time I took them was a month ago. I also still weigh the same as I did this time last month(169). I lost around 3 inches though. FINALLY my thighs moved! Man, it's been since October. I lost a whole inch in my lower thigh and 1/2 inch in my upper thigh. And I think I lost 1/2 inch in my hips and 1/4 inch or so in my stomach. Everything else is still the same. Speaking of stomachs- mine has to be the worst! Two ceseareans and almost 110 pound weight loss have taken a toll on my abs. Stretch marks and flab, what a beautiful site. But I know that I exercise regularly and that's all I can do. At least I look alright in clothes, lol. Supper will be late tonight. We're going out to eat when I get thru exercising. I usually don't get home until 7:20 and I'll need to change and freshen up. My hair will be all sweaty, so I'll throw a hat on,lol. Ashley seems to be alot better today. Joseph and I are just snot-nosed. And my eyes are bothering me. But other than that, I think we are all on the mend. Gotta go, the aerobics instructor just called...

Goodevening....Im fixing to take a shower and get in comfy clothes. Its my night of tv...survivor, csi and ER. I made a big batch of tuna for dinner. Everyone here knows not to mess with me on this night..lol
Heart- congrats on the inches!!! That is sooo much better than the pounds. I wish i would of measured my self. Maybe i still will.
Suzy- wtg staying on plan!!!! Your past the hardest part now.
Bob- Yeah i have tried the carb smart yogurt..peach is nasty but rasberry was ok. Im not big on yogurt but its something different now and then. With all the antibiotics your taking i hope your eating plenty of yogurt. It helps fight off those nasty yeast infections. I usually ask dr. for a Diflucan if i need antibiotics. Hope you get to feeling better soon.
Jack- I dont think i have ever seen someone recuperate as fast as you!! You are absolutely amazing.
Ok here it is....I ate a piece of chocolate today!!!! I could kick myself in the ars for it, but atleast i stopped there. I had to confess. I know I am stronger than chocolate!!!!!!!! I am woman!!!
well, time for me to get ready for the boob tube..lol
Have a great night.

JackK - Do you use something funny for your Bunco - when we shouted bunco you got to take whatever the bunco guy was - always something risque...of course, $$$ :) hahahaha....sounds like you are doing great!
BOB - sorry to hear you are so sick BUT CONGRATS ON THE NEW PUP!!!!!!!!!! I am so glad you got a new pupper to take care of - they always bring such joy!!!!
Congrats to all those who lost yesterday!
Work picked up - three weeks till my vacation - going to the doctor in less than a week and will know how much weight I have lost this month - hoping it is a good weigh in!!!!
Bought Honey Tangerines at Fresh Market the other day - they were like eating candy and very very juicy! I want more!!!!!

Hey all, hope your day is going super!!
Not much doing today. We went over to my Mom's so dh could do some repair work for her. Her chimney pipe in the shop needed some work done to it. I am getting hungry so this will be short. Will get back this evening.....
Gator-- That is very interesting.....I think I had read somewhere, about eating yogurt (the live cultures) after taking antibiotics. Must be about the same thing?? I didn't reply to any of the emails when the board was down. But I too am getting the message about my mail being undeliverable, and do not know the address or persons to whom it is supposed to be going to. Hummm??
Trish-- Sausage and kraut sounds great....think I will do some for lunch tomorrow!! I use the venison links we had made because they are very lean.
Pancho-- Hmmm, I had heard that the abs were one muscle that you could work everyday. I do mine 5 days a week. Interesting....
Jack-k-- Those same friends just might do that!! I have heard of many doing it!! Praying for dh. Please let us know his progress.
V-- That homemade whipped topping sounds interesting.....care to share the recipe??
Id-- Hey, I am a west coastie!! The way I understand the concept of the sugar alcohol is that it isn't SUPPOSED to cause an insulin spike the way that sugar does, and that it is NOT digested (like fiber). Therefore, if you eat too much of it, it has a laxitive affect. Use with caution!! I use it occasionally, and don't have too much trouble if I exercise that caution.
BOB-- I was so tickled to hear about your new friend. She sounds like a little doll. She is probably in seventh heaven being there with you and Kate. Wow, third round of meds??? Maybe you have become immune to the antibiotics?? They say that it can happen.
Suzy-- You are doing great this week. Glad you had a chance to get out and enjoy the day with your boys. Isn't it amazing how those dh's can totally do something so out of character. I think they do it just to keep us guessing .My dh bought me a lot of jewerly when we were dating, and when we first got married. This is the first in many years. And I absolutely love it!!
Laurie-- Congrats on all the inches lost. You will be into new sizes!! I hear you on the loose skin. It is so gross!! I have alot of it on my stomach and thighs. My legs have always been a problem area. They are now jiggly with lots of extra skin instead of just cellulite!! Not a great visual is it?? I keep exercising too, trying to do what I can, but...... who knows!!

I am finishing my packing after kicking out several items....my daughter and I have been adding new purchases so decisions need to be made. I have plenty of choices. Anyway, I will be on the road and not be able to check in so I wanted to wish all of you a great weekend and we will be thinking about you.

All you gooing to Fruit's, drive carefully. And have a great time.
BOB--The veggies are doing my system just fine. I'm feeling great and happy as a clam. Dinner tonight: great northern beans with sausage. Probably not great for SB, but I didn't have a ton of them.
Teensy--For the acidophilus I take capsules, one in the morning and one before dinner. They have a ton more bacteria than yogurt. You'd have to eat gallons of yogurt to get the same amount, so the capsules are easier for me. I got them at the HFS.

TV night was good. Im about ready to call it a night but thought i would check in.
Teensy- I got the recipe off of the board but here it is:
FAT-FREE, SUGAR-FREE "COOL WHIP"
1/2 CUP DRY NONFAT MILK
1/3 CUP OF COLD WATER
VANILLA EXTRACT
PACKET OF SWEETENER OF CHOICE
mix milk and water then put in fridge to chill for 2 hours. chill beaters too. Then beat with electric mixer until it forms peaks. Then add 1 tsp of vanilla ( or other extract); then beat again. then add sugar substitute to taste. then beat again and refrigerate until you use it.
use like cool whip or you may freeze it and it tastes like vanilla ice cream
I enjoy it on jello and frozen. I hope you enjoy :)

HiedeeHo All!
Went to NH and entertained at another (we were great, I think after being with them a few months I may be getting the hang of it!). Did some wrapping. And poof the day was gone! The drummer from the Joyful Noise had to have her middle finger amputated below the first joint yesterday. Has been battling a bad staph infection in that finger and they couldn't cure it. The doctors sent it to the lab to see if they can find out why they couldn't do anything.
Tomorrow DIL's family is coming. They are going to a parade tomorrow night. I will prpbably go too.
Saturday morning Jackieo and I head out for the par-tay!
SUZY: Are you talking room painting project ro artistic painting project? Glad you are feeling so good about yourself. I'm also a big homemade soup fan. I think Bob is too.
BETH: We knew you could do it!
GATOR: Glad you are feeling so good and eating so well! Many of our head trauma patients were on antibiotics for all their injuries and infections. When the good bacteria gets killed you can also suffer from diarhea. Because of the high dosages some of them had as well as the extreme length of time they were on them some of them had severe diarhea. One of the things we would feed the ones able to eat was yougurt, the kind that has live cultures. Yogurt is also good for yeast infections.
LDBLOND: Sorry you are aching. At least you lost 1/2 # and didn't gain. Hope the pool therapy is approved. It really is necessary for you.
TEENSY: Did I miss something? Whosh Fairy? You know there will be a rundown of all the things we do at the get together!
PANCHO: It is hard to be patient but sometimes that's what's needed. I hope that Britt see some results soon. Don't try to anaylize why you didn't gain weight over your holiday. Just be thankful you didn't. The next time you do such a cheat you might not be so lucky!
JACKK: Glad you were able to go to Bunco, how neat of your friends to try to make you comfortable. Prayers for your DH!
V: My MIL used to complain about the pasterized. homgenized milk, calling it "Blue Milk", she was a farm girl. Lord knows what she would think of the new milk. I've been drinking skim so long I think 1% is too creamy! It's all what we get used to.
Do you have the amount of the ingredients in your whipped topping? Forget Survivor! But I watch CSI and ER. Just saw wheer you posted recipe.
BOB: Congrats on being a new Mom! I'm not a medical person, but I would advise getting some yogurt now, the kind with live cultures. Read post to Gator.
TRISH: I beg your pardon! I'm a good girl I am!! Remember I've had more experience, could probably drink y'll under the table!
HEART: My thighs move too!...................just not the same way yours did! They sort of dance, even when I'm not!!!!!!
Okay that's it. Don't know if I will get on tomorrow. Have to clean, pack. Also box up some dishes for HFH.

Sorry I haven't been on, it's going to be like this til the 1st of March, unfortunately. Since I wasn't able to make it to the get together I have undertaken the humoungous task of trying to move the Ebay stuff I have in storage to another unit, 5 feet smaller. I was there from 8am-8pm yesterday and it's a job bigger than I'd ever imagined. I have til the 29th to finish before I have to pay on 2 units. The unit they gave me I'm NOT happy with at all, the light near it keeps going out and the timer that keeps the lights on for 30 minutes doesn't stay on more than 15-20. I came home with my feet feeling worse than when I did the half marathon, scrapes, bruises and lots of broken items too. I went to sleep at 9pm and I'm getting ready to go back over there today. I have a lot of glassware on a lot of shelves that I just don't know how I'm going to move it all-it's mind boggoling!
To those of you who are getting to go to the get together, I'll be thinking of you. To everyone else, I'm thinking about you all too - just need a little time to get some things done and then I'll be back. Hope everyone is well, I haven't even had a minute to read the boards.

Good Friday morning: The weekend is upon us!
I am very impressed with the exercise board; it appears as if many of us have truly made that commitment, and it feels good.
To all who are attending the par-tay at Fruits, please "travel" safely, and enjoy yourself while you are there. We will definately be looking forward to lots of pictures!!
Jack: How sweet of your friends to wear their pj's to Bunco. So sorry to hear about DH. It does sound very scary. Glad you were able to get him in so soon; please let us know what you find out as soon as you know something. Anjoy the fruit baskets!
ldblond: Hope DS is feeling better soon and can get off those meds. Sugar alcohols are pretty "debated." I think it is a ymmv (your mileage may vary) item. Some people are affected by them and some aren't. It slows some people's weight loss efforts, and not others. My biggest problem with them is the gas, bloating and terrible abdominal stress. Also, any "unnatural" sweetener can turn toxic in the body if it is overused. I will occasionally "indulge" in something that has the sugar alcohols, but try to stick to stuff I make with Agave & to the 70% chocolate. I found some all natural coconut/chocolate & peanut butter/chocolate bars (made by Barbara's Naturals) at Whole Foods. They have 8g of sugars, but have all natural ingredients, so I will just eat one half at a time when I get a craving. I want to eventually try to wean myself of the artificial sweeteners. I am taking some nutrition classes. I hope to get into personal training when Lane starts school in a few years, and thought these classes might be beneficial. As far as your splenda in your coffee...it has never affected me, but I have heard some say that is stalled their wt. loss; I think Debelli may be one of those people. Sometimes, I do feel far away from everyone here. Where did you grow up in AZ? Where do you live now?
BOB: So happy you found a new little friend....you better learn how to spell chihuahua since you will have to put it on the vet records. Enjoy that little booger!
SuzyB: You s/b so proud of yourself for staying on plan while being home; that's tough! I will keep you updated on the AB Scissor; we took before photos last night. I did not have a c-section, but have loose baggy skin, and that is where any reserve fat that I have is stored. I was so impressed watching the infomercial when Deion Sanders wife was on. She has had 4 children and is expecting another, and she wore her "stomachless" clothes, and got on the Ab Scissor and her stomach is so cut up....it made me sick. Granted, she probably has nannies & personal trainers up the ying yang, but she still relies on the AB Scissor pretty heavily, I guess.
heart: Looks as if all the aerobic exercise is paying off...knocking off those thighs. Good job staying at 169#'s; I'm sure you will see it going down again soon. Stay OP this weekend, and you will prob. see results by WIW.
vmoore: Get yourself some 70% chocolate, and allow yourself an ounce from time to time, so you don't have to feel guilty about it. I didn't see EM, but will try to catch it next week.
Deb: Wow, what a day!!! I hope you at least got a good night's sleep out of it. I hope you get everything moved out on time. Hope to hear from you more when March rolls around.
Agave: HAPPY BIRTHDAY...ENJOY YOUR SPECIAL DAY!!!
Well, kids are screaming....so I better go!
Take care,

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!
I slept late this morning, and to be truthful, my whole last nights TV picks were or should I say are a blurr! I don't even know who got voted off of SURVIVOR!!! I woke up at 1:30a.m. only to turn off the TV and then fell into a dead sleep again!
I don't feel any better today. I will just have to lay around and take my medicine....AND YES SUZY....EAT MY YOGURT!! :s:
Believe me, by the time this is all over, there will be enough yeast to bake bread!
Hope everyone going to LA has a great time....still sorry I couldn't make it, but as MISSY says, there will be another one!
NAT...thanks for the spelling lesson...I had no idea (as I confessed) how to spell CHIHUAHUA.....But then....I would have left that part to the VET???
FRUIT...Don't forget to raise one for me...I've already instructed TRISH to get that done, and with y'all doing the raising.....no doubt in my mind that it will be done!
VMOORE..I taped EXTREME MAKEOVER and I'm watching it as I type....
SEF...now you BEHAVE YOURSELF when you get to MISSY'S :s: And yes...I'm a HUGE soup fan!
GATOR...I had some white beans the other day too, except mine were cooked with ham hocks! :s: I'm so glad to hear that you're able to eat your favorite veggies again...Keep me posted on how you do.
DEB...Once again, all I can say is I'm sorry about the trip I know how you were looking forward to this, but as Missy said...there will be another one! Don't work too hard on moving that stuff!
COLLEEN...bite your tongue! I know that can happen, but I need this to work this time! Yes, YaYa is a sweetie and so tiny. She's asleep right here beside me now.
LAURIE....How did that exercise class go???
JACKIE....When I got up, Kate had the baby in her lap, so I would say all is well! Keep us updated on DH's visit to the DOC!
Well...got to go....

Happy Birthday AGAPE!!!
I'm packed & ready to go. Just had a call from YellowRose & they are less than an hour from me. Had to take a detour from I-10 so they see some of the country side. :) Have lunch ready for us then we're heading out. Look Out Missy, here we come!
Deb, so sorry things didn't work out for you to come.
BOB, please take care & get well!
Jack-K, will miss meeting you too, but so happy to hear that you are moving forward & sounds like you are doing extremely well.
To the rest of the board, wish more of you could join us, but of course you all know we'll be talking about you all! ;) :D

I have tried sugar busters off and on for months now because I feared I was heading toward Diabetes. I have lost almost 30 pounds in the last 4 months but am not here yet. (Starting weight about 247 and weigh 216 at doctor two days ago) Well I am here! It's official and I am a diabetic. The doctor wasted no time getting me on drugs and is already threatening insulin shots. I am scared to death.
Anybody else here a diabetic? What success have you had being truly loyal to sugar busters? My doctor told me not to live on this diet that it was not good for me but that does not make sense.
I think I might change doctors. Any comments - help - encouragement? Feeling kind of alone, helpless, and angry right now.

It's a cloudy Friday, but I'm looking forward to rain, being in a part of the country that sees only a little rain, we need it. RSD is still buggin' :( but I think it has a lot to do with the weather. Looking forward to the weekend, kids and DH all of us together, nice change. Increased my water trying for 8-12 glasses a day, should help my kidneys too, after all my infection put them through. Have a wonderful time at Missy's and drive careful...look forward to hearing about it!
Bob: I know how you feel with all those meds, I hope this one does the trick! Maybe your new little puppy will help you get better ;)
vmoore: A thousand lashes  Kidding, you are doing terriffic and it shows your committment to change when you are willing to be totally honest with yourself and the board when you slip. Next time try a low carb variety or high % cocoa. The girls on this board are talking about chocolate that they eat, instead of milk chocolate which is full of sugar.
Coleen: Yes, you are a west coastie, too  Sorry, I miss my sis and she seems so far away in Washington, I forget it's still on the same side of the country.
Sef: Did I miss something, I thought you sang with a Church Choir, are you in a band?
Deb: Good to hear from you.
Agape: Happy Birthday!:hat:
Nat: Thanks for all the good information. I was born in Tucson and spent most of my summers between Tucson, Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Mingus Springs. I've lived in California since I was 6. My family lives near Palm Springs. I love AZ and have many good memories from there. How about you, what part of Arizona do you live in?
Coachglenn: Welcome to the SB Board! I'm not diabetic, but have a SIL that was, yes I said was. After losing 78lbs and still losing she is finally off insulin all together (She had a gastric bypass), but that's not my point. Because she got the weight off she was able to get her body to function more normally. Your weight loss has been quite successful so far, come on board with us as you continue your journey.

Hi everybody!
Here it is, Friday, and I'm STILL OP!!!!! I'm so proud of myself. I really feel like I have my original motivation back!! I'm reading the boards a couple of times a day, even though I don't post each time, and it's REALLY helping me!
I worked my LAST 2nd SHIFT last night!! I go to 1st Shift with Weekends off next week!!!!! This is going to help me TREMENDOUSLY!! It means instead of being at work from 4pm to Midnite and being alone and snacking while bored... I'll be at work from 8am-4pm and be home with my family at night and on weekends for the first time in 2 years!!! I'll also be there while the office is open, and I'll have to take my lunch, and won't have time to snack!!! I'm really excited, but nervous too since it's a change!
COACHGLENN - YOU ARE NOT ALONE!! I was diagnosed Type II Diabetic in October of 2002. I take Glucophage for it. My doc was THRILLED that I was doing Sugar Busters and said it was a wonderful way of eating, and her husband is a nutritionist/personal trainer!!! (My OB/GYN sees me for this, since the same meds also treat a condition I have called PCOS) She is a FIRM believer in SB-type ways of eating. I started SB in January of 2002, and after sticking to it strictly for about 6 months, I lost about 40 pounds and several pants sizes.Unfortunately, I lost my motivation and fell "off the wagon" as we like to put it, and I put every pound and then some back on! :( (I was diagnosed with the Diabetes while OFF the wagon!!) Well, this week... I decided to come back and do it again. And since the 15th (5 days ago) I've lost a good 5 pounds. It's a great WOE, and nowadays it's easier than ever. Subway, Schlotzsky's, Friday's, Ruby Tuesdays, Hardees... (I don't know how many of these you have) ALL have Low Carb menus, entrees without bread, potato, rice... it's wonderful for those of us who don't cook!!! I hope you stick with it if you decide it's for you! Stick around here, it really helps to have a support system!! The people on this board are the greatest. We all mess up, but nobody bashes anyone else, it's always met with a round of "Oh, I did that too, you can get back on track!" If you need an EMail pal, several of us have our email addy's on the BIO board and are all for the pen pal support!
PANCHO - I have the same problems with the chocolate, or actually any of the sugar free candies. Bloated feeling, rumbly tummy, and can't stay out of the bathroom! I've noticed if I eat more than one piece, all this comes on suddenly, and the scale goes UP! I've pretty much cut it all out.
LDBlonde - OK... first question, I've seen people put ID and LD, which is your screen name REALLY? I saw you sign your posts Lara, so I assumed it was LD, but it seems the ID is more prevalent around here. LOL, I'm nuts! My little guy just got put on allergy meds, also. He was snoring to beat the band, and waking himself up at night. (He's the one who turned 7 Weds) The doc said if this doesn't help she is sending him for a sleep study!! I'm trying to drink more water, but I don't drink as much as I should, either! Good Luck!
BOB - WTG on the new critter! I do dog rescue myself, and I can never pass up a little sad face. Which is probably why I have FOUR dogs! That's one lucky pup to have a new house with a momma who will spoil it!
JACKIE - GL with DH! It sure feels like when it rains it pours, but you're strong!! Thoughts and prayers to your family! :)
HI to everyone I missed, I gotta get back to housework!! Have a wonderful OP day everyone!!

Just a quickie.
Just got home with DH. He has a blood clot in a superficial vein. Which is not life threatening. Theya re treating him with asprin and ibuprofen for 3 weeks. He also got some compression stockings. So we will see what will happen in 3 weeks.
They are sending me some work so I have to run.
Heartmom, WTG on those inches. Just goes to show, we should not be so hung up on the scale numbers. Congrats.
VMoore, I am not amazing, just determined and willful. I believe losing all that wt and all my exercising has really helped me get better quicker.
Tranquil, we don't even play bunco any more. We just sit around and talk and eat. At the end we roll around and add up the total of the dice. and divivde the prizes that way. Silly but if people are missing, it works better than trying to get subs.
Sef, give Ashley a big hug from me. You all have a great time.
Deb, don't work yourself to death.
Agape. Happy Birthday! :hb: :hat: :balloons: Enjoy your day.
Missy, cheers to the hostess! You all have a wonderful time. Pics, Pics and more Pics.
Bob, hope those meds start working soon. In the meantime, enjoy your puppie.
Melf, make sure all that talking about us is good things. :lol Have a ball.
Coachglenn, I can't understand why you can't live on this diet. It is so healthy and all good carbs. This diet will help tremendously with your diabetes. Good luck.
Idblond, enjoy your weekend with your family.
Beth, You Go GIrl! I knew you could do it. I am so proud. Just hang int here for the weekend. I want to hear Monday that you are still OP.
Have a great day. All you Missy bound people have a wonderful time. Let us hear from you.

Well today I did not have anything for lunch except 3 strawberries and 3 little chunks/pieces of melon - :hun: I had a manicure appointment with my mom - it is so nice having her close by, and fun! So, we sat and talked about S & TC and the actresses interview on Oprah and I cried...hahahaha.... But, tonight I want to walk - so I am taking my Greyhounds for a walk and get some much needed exercise! Sadly they don't pull - wish they were obnoxious and would pull me down the street! :D
BOB - Sounds wonderful - movies, bed, and snuggly furbabies!!!!! Have a good weekend and get healthier.... :sunny:
Deb - Sounds like NO fun to me! Hope to talk to you this weekend!!!!! I will be around - will be coming in to the office for a couple of hours to train Serene for her new position at the office...I hope she is excited, I am for her! She will like the new work better than the other - far better!
JackK - Well, at least getting together is fun...I belonged to a Bunco group awhile ago - and we always ate and ate and ate....it was lots of fun, but I ended up not being able to make games, they changed the nights, etc. - and being a single mom, my free nights were not the Bunco nights - so I had to drop out... :bubbles:
Fruit and Get Together Attendees - Have a safe journey to Fruit's and lots of fun - I cannot wait to see photos!!!! I hope nobody forgot their digital camera!!!! :gossip:
Agape - Happy Birthday :gift:
Well Hello to others!!!
CoachGlenn - Welcome, and I know there are several on the board who have been diagnosed with Diabetes that can help answer your questions, I was diagnosed borderline - but my last visit/lab work said that I was normal :cheer: - but I still have quite a lot to lose...and the doctor was happy with my choice of Sugar Busters too....so good luck!!!!

Hey, guys. I'm disappointed in myself. Yea, SABOTAGE, did it again. I do some good, then WHAM. I caved and had a dbl cheeseburger meal at McDonald's and a Hershey's bar. Why, I don't know. I can't even hardly taste, so it wasn't worth it. And then I wasn't able to exercise today, so double whammy. Well, I'm not going to give myself the green light to start bingeing. I'll make sure I have a 100% legal supper. I also have to teach exercise class in the AM. I bet I'll be dragging! Just popping in..gotta run.

Finally home, and I am ready to call it a day. Lane had a few total meltdowns today and I'm worn out. I just want to climb into a hot bathtub and relax; of course that won't happen until 8:30-9 tonight. I just called DH and asked him to pick up a rotisserie chicken so I don't have to cook.
BOB: Hope you feel better soon; enjoy your movies!!
glenn: Hope you continue to do well on SB. Sorry to hear about that diagnosis; is must have been scary to hear. I would like to know why the doctor discourages SB for the long haul. It is definately a very healthful way for a diabetic to eat, maybe minus more of the fruit and other natural sugars. Try to hang in there; I am sure you will find the support you need here. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask.
ldblond: I grew up in the NW valley (Glendale area), but now live in the New River/Cave Creek area (north of town). I love this town!
Beth: Glad your schedule is changing; it will make a big difference cutting that late night eating out.
Jack-K: So glad to hear the news on DH. I hope it clears up with the wrap and the aspirin. Hope you are feeling well too.
Gotta run; things are starting to get outta control around here.
Have a great weekend!!

Goodevening!!!! Ive had a busy day of spending money...lol ( that i dont have) I stayed O/P all day and even did my exercises.
Coach- Welcome!!! You will love this board. I have met some great ppl and have a support system now i never knew existed. I am diabetic. My dr. put me on sugar busters and i did real good but then fell of the wagon. ( we all do at some point i think) When my blood sugar got up in the 300's i got scared. Im back on SB and my sugar is under 150 now...in 6 weeks!!! If you dont have the book, buy it. Give a copy to your dr. He probably dont know about it other than what he has "heard". Studies are actually showing what a great way of life this really is. Great for blood sugar, tricylceriods, cholesterol, ect... Feel free to email me anytime for anything. vmoore708@yahoo.com
Jackie- Im glad to hear that is wasnt anything to bad for your hubby. That sounds like it will be fairly easy to take care of.
Heart- you got the right attitude, get back on that horse!! As long as we learn if we screw up on one meal not to turn it into a week rather than get back on plan for the next meal we will be fine. But it does suck when we cheat and it wasnt even worth it...lol..although isnt that pretty much the norm? It seems like we would learn huh? Nope not me, that would be to easy.

Bob..I usually wouldn't take a test like that but I did. I freak easy...LOL I hope to add a few years to what they gave me. My hubby took the test also. He is an overweight smoker who drink coffee and they gave him 2 more years than me...what's up with that... :)
Welcome coachglenn. I can't imagine why your doctor would think whole grains, low fat foods and fresh fruits and veggies would be bad for you. Diabetes runs in my family. That is the reason I chose this plan. Praying your sugar comes down as your weight does.
I want to thank all ya'll for your encouragement on WIW. The scales are up still even a tad more. But it's all good. I'm doing what I know to do and hopefully the rest will follow.
I haven't had much time to post but am reading faithfully.
Love and hugs,

HiedeeHo All!
Bag all packed, ready to shuffle off to Thibodaux! I've cleaned, washed, sewed, ironed. I'm tired. Kids went to parade downtown with DIL's family. I figure I will see a parade this weekend so stayed home to rest.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1
DEB: So sorry you and Narda won't be with us. My gosh, how much stuff do you have that you have to rent storage space just for eBay. Maybe you ought to stop buying and start selling!
BOB: You will be missed, hope you feel better. I'm ALWAYS a good girl!
COACH: Yes, there are diabetics here. I am not, but my numbers were high, getting close. Since being on SB they have come down. You are bound to feel angry and frustrated right now, it's not easy find that we are not invinceable. It takes time to get used to a diagnosis. You are not alone if you come here, ask questions and realize that others have similar problems, we help each other cope. Welcome.
LDBLOND: Weather is a big factor in how we feel. We have to move and it can hurt, but I find that not moving enough hurts just as much if not more, I stiffen up fiercely. Will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I do sing in choir, but also I sing with a little group and entertain at NHs and AL facilities. We are a motley group.......a piano player (she says she's not a pianist!). a banjo/mandolin player, a tronbonist, a saxphone/clarinet man and me, the vocalist/comic relief. I know a lot of silly songs! We/re not great. We have fun and they seem to like us. Notice our name is Joyful Noise, we don't pretend to be Music! The 100th Psalm says "make a joyful noise" doesn't say music! lol
BETH: You should be proud of yourself! Don't worry about the shift change, it will be so good for you, you will be happy.
JACKK: Glad the news about DH was not overly serious, although I know it is a worry for you. By the way.......you are amazing!!!!!
Time to get comfy. but what would Friday be without some FFs:
At 70 years old, George went for his annual physical. All of his tests came back with normal results. Dr. Smith said, "George, everything looks great physically. How are you doing mentally and emotionally? Are you at peace with yourself, and do you have a good relationship with God?
George replied, "God and me are tight. He knows I have poor eyesight, so he's fixed it so that when I get up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom (poof) the light goes on, when I'm done (poof) the light goes off.
"Wow!", commented Dr. Smith, "That's incredible!" A little later in the day Dr. Smith called George's wife. Ethel, he said, "George is doing fine.* Physically he's great. But, I had to call because I'm in awe of his relationship with God. Is it true that he gets up during the night and (poof) the light goes on in the bathroom, and then when he is through (poof) the light goes off?"
Ethel exclaimed, "Oh, my God! He's peeing in the refrigerator again!"

Chief Two Eagles
*An old Cherokee chief sat in his hut on the reservation, smoking the ceremonial pipe and eyeing the US government officials sent to interview him. *
"Chief Two Eagles," one official began, "you have observed the white man for 90 years. You have observed his wars and his material wealth. You have seen his progress and the damage he has done."
The Chief nodded that it was so.
The official continued, "Considering all these events, in your opinion, where did the white man go wrong?"
The Chief stared at the government officials for over a minute and calmly replied....."When white man found the land, Indians were running it. .No taxes.... No debt... .Plenty buffalo... .Plenty beaver... Women did all the work... Medicine man free.... .Indian man spend all day hunting and fishing... ..all night making love to woman.
*
The Chief leaned back, smiled and said ..... White man dumb enough to think he could improve system like that..."

An airline's passenger cabin was being served by an obviously gay flight attendant who seemed to put everyone into a good mood as he served them food and drinks.
As the plane prepared to descend, he came swishing down the aisle and announced to the passengers, "Captain Marvey has asked me to announce that he'll be landing this big scary plane shortly, lovely people, so if you could just put up your trays that would be super."
On his trip back up the aisle, he noticed that a well-dressed rather exotic looking woman hadn't moved a muscle. "Perhaps you didn't hear me over those big brute engines. I asked you to raise your trazy-poo so the main man can pitty-pat us on the ground."
She calmly turned her head and said, "In my country, I am called a Princess. I take orders from no one."
To which the flight attendant replied, without missing a beat, "Well, sweet-cheeks, in my country, I'm called a Queen, so I outrank you. Tray-up *****."

Good Morning everyone!
We are having a great time here at the par tay! We went to a parade last night and had a great time! Lyn and Trish were like little kids in a candy store - they had so much fun! It was fun for me just to watch someone who had never experienced Mardi Gras before - they were so cute. Right now we are waiting for Ashley and Shirley to get here. No big plans for today - we will catch more parades tomorrow. They are giving thunderstorms for Monday which totally stinks because that is the day of our parade. So, hopefully that will change. We'll check back in later!!
Bye

Good Saturday morning,
Sounds like the NO group is well under way with the partying. Have fun gals.
Got up, dusted the house, swept the kitchen floor and cleaned the toilets and sinks. Waiting for DH to get home from work so he can vacuum and mop the floors. I bet he can't wait. That's the way it goes. Goot my shower and all that goes along with it and now I am pooped. Going to set down for awhile and read.
BOB, Enjoy your weekend in bed with the movies and the pup.
Tranquil. I bet those Greyhounds like to go for a long time though. It is good exercise. Enjoy.
Heartmom, gome on get back on track and you will be fine.
Pancho, hope you got that bubblebath.
VMoore. Congrats for staying OP and getting in that exercise.
Country, don't fret about that scale. Inches are coming off I know. Throw it in the closet for awhile. Have a great weekend.
Sef, enjoy the weekend and catch some beads at the parades.
Missy, sounds like the partay is well underway. Have fun. Hope the rain holds off.
Have a great weekend. Won't be back on until tomorrow night.

My 10 year old son is always sick for Valentines day. He always gets sick with allergies. This year I hit him with the Allegra at first signs and we've managed to skip sinus infection so far! Hope your little guy feels better soon. My DD is feeling so much better! The Wellbutrin has helped and she's going to therapy. We have our first family therapy on Thursday.

Welcome to the board!
I don't understand why your doctor would say SB is not healthy to be on long term? They must not have read the book or is confusing this way of eating with Atkins.

WTG on those inches!!

Hope you enjoy your shift change. Going to be an adjustment for you.
Man I had the busiest busiest week! I barely had time to read my e-mail which is unusual for me.
My son decided to skip baseball this year. I for one am glad! Our whole weekend was shot because he'd have a game Saturday & Sunday. And lets not forget practice once a week. Then what ended up happening was we would make every game but other kids would not and the game would be forfeit. I was annoying.
This year Peter decided to do bowling league instead.
So instead of the weekend being shot, I only have to be at the bowling ally 9 am (instead of 7:30 for baseball on Saturday only) and it's not wet, or cold, or hot or buggy!
Eating has been great. Doing my WATP. Life is good.

GOOD AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!
CHERYL....Thanks for the heads up The Doc didn't give me a large amount of the stuff to take, and I really haven't felt like eating!
I'm almost done with the antibiotic, the humibid has a few more days on it.
Tell your DS that Kate said to tell him that BOWLING IS GOOD! Releases a lot of everything! She wishes that she had kept hers up. She was quite good and went all over the US participating in tourney's! The trophy collection got so big that she finally donated them all to the Jr Leaguers...Tell him too that this could be the start of winning a lot of $$$$$$...she did!
Glad to hear that you're enjoying WATP...it's a good one!
It's beautiful over here today, just wish that I felt like enjoying it. I don't want this to be taken the wrong way, but I'm almost glad that something came up preventing me from going to the hoopla because if I had gotten there and felt like this, I would have been the biggest wet blanket that the world has ever seen!
NOW FOR MY TAKE OF THE LAST OF THE MOVIES:
IN THE CUT....very good...did not expect what happened at all...Meg Ryan
MAMBO ITALIANO...waste of money
CONSEQUENCE...Armand Assante.....little slow, but well worth the ending!
I have a mountain of laundry to do, and I've got to get motivated to do it!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good evening ladies
Ok - this morning I posted a HUGE post and it got lost in cyberspace. The board was making me log in several times...not sure what was happening. So, let me try this again.
Everything here is great! We are having such a wonderful time. They are all sooooo soooo nice. Friday, TRISH, LYN & MARY arrived, we visited some and then we went to a parade. Trish & Lyn were so funny! It was neat to take someone to a parade that had never been. Afterwards, we went to a local restaurant - Boudreaux & Thibodauxs. Mary had a seafood platter and a SWEET POTATO. Lyn had some type of grilled shrimp over angel hair pasta - she ate the shrimp and just a little pasta. ME & TRISH...well, we won't go there. HAHA!
Saturday Shirley & Ashley arrived and we visited and ate and played games. Then me, Terry, Ashley & Trish went to Norms for drinks and fun. The others stayed in and knitted. We had a blast. Today I went to load our float and then we went to the parade here in Thibodaux. Lyn is now officially a "bead Ho!" She was out there working it like all the hoochies! HAHA! We had beautiful weather and the company was wonderful. Right now we are at my dads for supper. He's giving SHIRLEY straight Southern Comfort and she's saying that it's watered down cause it's not 100 proof! HAHA! What a hoot!
Well, I just wanted to update you all on the fun. We are having a blast and wish you were all here. I'll report in on Tuesday. Pray that we don't get rain tomorrow for our parade!!
