LESS THAN PERFECT

Things will never be perfect. Sometimes they will never even be close. Yet that is no reason to hide away from life, no reason to curse your predicament. On the contrary, it is every reason to rise up and go forth with renewed determination.

If you wait for conditions to be perfect, you won't ever get much done. If you refuse to go ahead unless you can be guaranteed of a sure thing, you'll never get very far.

It's great to aim toward perfection, yet to arrive at perfection you must cross through a lot of imperfection. To get everything just right, you must be willing to deal with things going wrong.

Take this day, this moment, with all its flaws, and make the very most of it. Rather than complaining about what you don't have or where you'd rather be, make full use of where you are, of what you do have.

Aim toward perfection while also accepting the reality of what is. And excellence will surely result.

-- Ralph Marston

PURPOSEFUL

When things become difficult, remember why you started in the first place. Even if there's nothing else to sustain your efforts, a compelling reason can keep you going.

In dealing with the challenges that come your way, it can be easy to lose sight of the purpose behind your efforts. Take the time to reaffirm your commitment to that purpose, and you gain renewed strength to meet the many challenges.

The energy needed for discipline, for commitment, for effectiveness, for creativity, comes from following a meaningful, compelling purpose. Remember why, for it helps you to determine how, and to put that strategy into action.

Remember why, and you can find the strength to persist. Remember why, and you'll figure out a way to get the resources that you need.

You are at your best when following a noble and meaningful purpose. All that you are can be brought to bear when the reason is solidly connected to who you are.

Remember why, and you'll have what it takes to get it done.

-- Ralph Marston

Hope everyone had a good weekend. Ours was busy, but good. I only need to get through this week as I am on vacation next week. Not doing anything big and exciting - which is exactly how I want it. I want a few days hanging out in our pj's watching movies or playing board games. We are in need of some slow time.

I have decided that starting today I am going to journal all my intake food. I know that I said that a few weeks ago and probably did the first day and stopped. But I am going to work real hard at it again. I'm not blowing it big time, but I can't seem to stop with the "spoonful here - a bite there" attitude. Last night it was the spoonful of Edy's Girl Scout edition Tagalong ice cream thast I needed to try. It was good - but not that good. So, new Monday, new start - hopefully I will have the will power. Maybe then the scale will go down . . . ;) That and I'm going to work on my portion sizes. Perhaps if I cut back a little here and a little there it will get me off this plateau.

Hope we hear something about JackK soon. Thought about her a lot this weekend. I'm sure she was so surprised at the roses and the ecards.

Okay - gotta start getting ready . . .
Will check in later -

Good morning everyone,
Had a really good weekend, watched portion sizes, even though not all food was OP, plus got in lots of treadmill time, so hopefully they sort of cancelled each other out. I managed to get to the movies and see "Miracle", the movie about the gold medal hockey team in 1980, really well done. And then DS#1 and I went bowling Sunday afternoon, he beat me all three games. Also had sort of a funny dream last night, somehow in the dream I managed to lose 13 pounds in a week, and my collarbones had magically reappeared too. Anything's possible in a dream! Found a low-carb bread by Rudi's Organic Bakery, not too bad either, but the slices are kind of small. They have other organic breads that aren't too bad on sugars, and I may switch to one of those.
I was thinking about JackK too, and hoping that she'll have a speedy recovery.
Off to be productive at work, will write more later,

Good Monday Morning. I have not yet had a chance to read last weeks posts, but will do so shortly. Weekend was pretty uneventful. I had some car problems fixed on Sat., and the news just kept getting worse. I got my car back yesterday and they said that the one of the parts I bought was defective and they will have to exchange it and fix it again next weekend. So that is one more weekend I will be without my car. I'd rather be imprisoned than not have my car. Last night, I had a party for the Grammy awards and ate way too much junk. I am paying for it today. I hope you all have a good day.

Suzy- Journaling has helped me a lot. (especially when it comes to mindless eating and snacking). I need to get back on track with it, too.

woodfrogs- Glad to hear you had a nice weekend.

Eating was not pretty yesterday. I went a little over board..okay a lot I thought I'd just dive in head first. But today is a new day and like Suzy. I'm gonna try to start journaling again. It's suppose to be rainy all week...blah... :) Hope everyone has a great Monday.

Love and hugs,

Morning all!

Like you, I have been thinking about Jackie too. I sent a card on Friday and hope her recovery is going well.

Weekend eating was horrible--was like I woke up every morning and my only thought was "what can I eat today?" I know what's up with this--it's my least favorite time of the year and VD is coming up and I just HATE VD! Walking into the stores and seeing all the red hearts just puts me is a really bad mood and I stay that way until it is over. Needless to say, I may not be good company on the board this week.

But that's NO EXCUSE for the hoovering behaviors!!!!!!!!

WOW the big do in LA is getting really close. I'd love to be there, but I have a big political meeting in Montgomery over the same weekend. That's work so it takes precidence. And if I didn't have that, I'd have to go to NC that weekend b/cause my oldest niece is competing in a pagent (don't get me started). Anyway I hope everyone has a great time!

Deb and BOB--when do you think you will be traveling? I'd still like to try to drive down if you are or can do an overnight on the FLA panhandle.

Gator--I'm glad to see Monet on the board too! I worry when she doesn't get on for a while.

Does the journaling really work? When I've tried it I find all I do is think about food and that isn't good for me. But what I'm doing now isn't working so maybe I'm ready to give it another try.

Have a good Op day everyone!

PS--so far I'm in the lead with 6 tickets--a dubious honor I'm sure! LOL!

Good Monday morning:

A new week, and it is going to be a busy one for me. I am going to try to get to the gym 3-4 days before we leave on Friday morning....we will see how Lane does. I started packing a few items last night, and will do a little more everyday before we leave, so it won't be so overwhelming at the last minute. I have a few more things to pick up before we leave, so probably head to Wal-mart sometime this week as well. I haven't been able to find any gloves for Lane to play in the snow though. We will probably have to wait until we get to snow country, and pay a boatload for them. BUT, she needs them for her first real snow experience. I've been able to get everything else, and am still awaiting the arrival of Lane's snow boots; they better be here today.

Suzy: Sounds like a great vacation to me!! Sometimes going on a real vacation (with kids) is so much work, and by the time it is over, you are ready to get back home anyway. Enjoy the quiet time with the boys. Good luck with journaling; it really helped me when I did it....it helped me avoid eating a lot of those little bites here and there, and when looking back on it, it was very enlightening to see what I had been eating, and how much.

Wood: Sounds as if you had a fun weekend. Now, that's a dream you don't want to wake up from ;) . Have a good week, and keep up with that exercise.

jackieO: I say we go back to horses & buggies. Car repairs can get so expensive and are so INCONVENIENT. I hope they get it all figured out soon, and you will have your ride back.

Country: Hang in there, lady. I won't dare tell you about these new Rollitos (by Doritos)...I got some from the girls and they are really good! I always like the chips in the bag that are stuck together or folded over because they are extra crunchy....well these are rolled up like little taquitos and are really crunchy. BUT, they are loaded with crap none of us needs (not even the kids), so don't buy them  . I had a coupon for them, and you can't let a coupon go to waste, right?

Fillise: Within a few days all the hearts will be gone to make way for Mr. Leprechaun & that bouncy bunny. Hang in there....only a few days to go. I guess the reason s/b self-explanatory for this "sad" time, eh? I think journaling makes you accountable for what you eat. You don't just pop something in your mouth and walk away. If you know you are going to write it down, you may avoid it all together. I know it worked for me...probably a psychological thing. Have a good rest of the week!

I am checking the site often to see if any new news on Jack-K. They should have the pathology report back by now, shouldn't they???? I am sure she was just so overwhelmed when she woke up from surgery, after being under for 7 hours, and having a totally new body, and losing the breasts she has had for life. I am continuing to pray for a great recovery and for the pathology reports to show what we all are wanting to see. God Bless her and her family. I guess I better go pay Deb via paypal while I am thinking of it.

Well, I better get some stuff done around here before heading out for the day.

Take care,
Nat

Good Monday morning everyone. I have a few minutes before Dominics play date..so i thought I would pop in. I had a horrible eating day yesterday. We had a big birthday party to go to and it was so much fun but soooo much food, illegal of course! I got a really nice outfit for the party and I have to say I got soooo many compliments on my weight loss. I think for the first time i looked in the mirror and actually saw a difference. I was kinda proud to walk in there...I felt great! But you would think that would stop me from eating so much...lol. I guess in the back of my head I felt like I kinda deserved it a little. Even though last Sunday was a blow out too. Anyway...today is a new day right?

PANCHO - When exactly are you leaving? This weekend? What happened with all of Britts tests? I havent had a chance to read the last few days of last weeks posts...so sorry if you already said.

JACKIEO- Sorry about your car trouble. Did you enjoy the Grammy's? I cant believe how long they were...but i stuck it out for all 3 1/2 hrs!! :)

FILLISE - I love to journal...I think it helps me a lot. I just started doing it again last week. And Pancho is right...it makes you think twice before having a nibble here and there.

Gotta run guys....hope to come back and find some good news about JACKIE!

"It's important to understand that it takes 21 consecutive days of repeating an action before it becomes a habit." Got that from www.www.ivillage.com the Get organized challenge. http://www.ivillage.com/home/challenge/pages/0,,205975_431164,00.html?arrivalSA=1&cobrandRef=0&arrival_freqCap=1&pba=adid=7210303

I don't work because I had a stroke and I just have not had the brain power to handle a job right now.
My husband is a contractor with his own business and I'm supposed to be handling all the paperwork and bank stuff which to me is boring. It is difficult to be on a schedule when your at home. It's so easy to let the day slip by while you play on the computer or veg out in front of the TV. I have been on a mission this past month to get my butt in gear! Working out every day, (except weekends) to the Walk Away the Pounds has really got me motivated. I've made my workout a habit.

My next new habit is to open and file the mail every single day. Have done that for a week straight so far!
Next thing is to get my credit straightened out.
Working on it by joining ConsumerInfo.com. And getting the business account all logged in on the Quicken.
I am just doing things one day at a time but that's all it takes to get things done!
The daily workout has just given me so much energy! You might be able to do the WATP tapes too. I usually am in a lot of pain this time of year, joint pain and nerves in my hand and arm, but I have noticed the pain is so much less now!

Vmoore
Way to go staying legal at the party! You could have gone the opposite mind set and thought "Gee I'm going to eat off plan with DH so might as well just eat this stuff now too" But you didn't!

Welcome to the board!
enriched & bleached are bad. I also look for things labled`unbromated":

Also watch out for bromates (usually potassium bromate), which are added to wheat and other flours to improve baking performance. Britain and other European countries banned bromates in baked goods during the 1980s, when studies found they increased the incidence of kidney tumors in rats. Bromates are still legal in the U.S. To avoid them, look for flour and bakery items marked ``unbromated,'' which are available in supermarkets under some common brands, such as Pepperidge Farm."

Fillise My DD hates VD too. She calls it "Singles Awareness Day" LOL I figure if my DH needs a special day just to say he loves me our marrige is in trouble!

Ok off to WATP! :jig:

Hey ALL!
I've been MIA for quite a while. I confess that my eating hasn't been good and honestly, I just didn't want to think about it. But ever so slowly, I'm getting back into the swing.
I've had lots going on both at work and in life. Work is just work and so so busy. In life, we bought a new car last week. A 2004 Explorer. It is by far the nicest vehicle I have ever had. We were up in the air about who would get a new vehicle first, but Brandon decided to keep his truck and drive it until it falls apart(which I hope isn't any time soon!). So the Explorer is mine and now I have to sell my Jeep Cherokee. Before I can sell it, it has to be "detailed" which I haven't been successful at quite yet since it snowed all weekend and we don't have a garage. Hopefully today (but it snowing again, which wasn't forecasted!)
Saturday night, we went to the state park at the lake about 20 minutes from our house for their Annual Buffalo Dinner. They had Buffalo meatloaf, buffalo roast, buffalo chili, and buffalo barbecue in addition to the regular buffet. It was fun. We went with my parents, grandmother, sister, aunt, uncle, cousin, her husband and baby. My cousin is one month older than me and there has always been un unspoken competition between us. My mom says it's spooky how much we are alike. Well she had her first baby a year ago and up until Christmas had not lost an ounce of "baby weight". She and I have always fought our weight and when we get together, I usually compare myself to her in relation to weight. Well, evidently she has been working on her weight since Christmas and it shows...so IT'S ON! I figure since my body has no excuse (like having a baby) I should have a better figure than her! I know it's crazy, but somehow it motivates me. Hopefully I can get back on the wagon.
My jazzercise teacher is considering adding another class to our weekly schedule which would be really great. That would mean I can go Mon, Tues, WED, and Fri. Jazzercise is the one thing I have stuck with over the last couple of "bad" weeks, so at least I haven't gone totally in hole!
I hope everyone's doing well.
Jennifer

Good Monday all my SB friends. Hope you all have a good week. Crystle and all you others who are struggling with cravings right now, make today the beginning of a good week. Don't let your brain get hungry (it is normally the first thing that recognizes that your blood sugar is getting a tiny bit low and signals it with that unsettled "hmmm, what can I eat?" urge. Keep the protein snacks coming every 3 hours. If you still want food, then it is not what you are eating, but, as they say, what is eating you. So, in that case, spend the week thinking about why you eat when you are not even hungry. What are you trying to "stuff" and in what way are you trying to "fill up"?
And that's my MM for today.

Pancho--Have a good trip. Hope your kids love the snow.

I played golf this morning. We played something called "scramble" where you don't always play your own ball. It is a team game, and our 3 tried to get a lower score than the other team of 3 women. I ended up playing with a woman who habitually miscounts her strokes, and ends up with a couple fewer strokes than she really hits. It has always annoyed me because we play for prizes, and a stroke or two fewer can make a difference in who wins. With a "scramble" format, there is no individual score, just a team score, so it was OK playing with her. One time I played with her and 2 other women. I kept the score for all of us and when she told me her score was a stroke lower than it actually was on a couple of holes, it was a bit dicey. I think she was annoyed with me when I showed her how she had really shot a 5 instead of a 4 on those 2 holes. It was difficult to know whether to bother to fiddle with her score or just let her "cheat", but then, she is not only cheating herself of being honest, but she is also cheating all the other women who were playing against her that day too.

My weight is still down under 170, but who knows for how long"
B--1 pc. white bread toast with butter and jelly, hot tea.
L.--Chicken and yellow rice (made with white rice), piece of apple pie, water.
D. Who knows!
I miss my veggies and fresh fruits. I feel like I am eating pablum! But my doctor says to stay on non-fiber stuff to give my "tummy" a little rest. It's amazing how little there is to eat with no fiber. But apparently, in the average US daily diet, we don't get enough of it. Women, eat healthy while you still have the chance! What you eat now may affect your health later! Don't waste any time doing the right thing for yourself. Days that you waste now you can never reclaim.

Well, I'm gonna go. Have a great day.

Tranquil

I am thrilled that my weight is going down, but, of course, having a stomach virus last weekend, with the sore throat and fever this weekend - not much food has passed these lips other than sf icepops and lots of diet sprite/seltzer/water... and the antibiotics have helped with weight loss too - so, instead of being miserable, I am rejoicing in the help I am having with this virus bug...though it does need to go on its merry way and infect someone else instead.....

Has anyone heard about JackK?

I have attached the photo of my ds before he went to the party this weekend...I wonder if it will show up, never used this new system we have before.... oh well....

Wow, can't believe that it has been 5 mos. since I've been on the board. And what a nice sight to see a post from my good friend Tranquil. So glad to see you back on also. I always did stay on SB better when we used the buddy system and helped keep each other accountable. I'm looking forward to good results for us both! I love the picture of Zach that you posted. He looks so handsome and grown up, plus the fact that he is such a great kid!

Sorry I've been away so long, however, my computer at home crashed months ago, and I still don't have it up and going. Work has been too busy for me to use my work computer for writing. Things are starting to slow down for now, so I thought this might be a good time to climb back on board.

Looks like lots of new members since I've been around and I hope to have an opportunity to get to know you all better.

Deb, thanks for not giving up on me and for being faithful in sending me emails about what is going on. I am keeping Jackie in my thoughts and prayers and hope to hear good news about her soon.

Time to go home from work, so I'll be back tomorrow!

Take Care,
Wendy

Gheeeez, where's everyone at?? I got to the gym....yeah! I hope to get 2-3 days in before we leave. I got to the store to get the final needed items, and now we are ready to go, after I pack...of course.

I have done pretty well with my eating. I plan to be 100% OP the rest of the week, so I can have a few off-plan things over the weekend.

chrisd: I am still awaiting the 'official' report via mail on all the tests they've done on Britt. They did determine that she has allergies to many things, and a yeast problem, and stomach issues. We are starting to treat her now, and they will try to build up her immunity to those things she is allergic too, instead of just treating the symptoms, or trying to keep her away from so many things. They did a hair test on her, and there were high concentrations of metals, so I need to find a filter for the tub to filter out all the crap from the water; we are on a well, and have a softener system, but we need to still filter the water before bathtime. I guess we absorb a lot of that stuff through our skin. Glad you enjoyed yourself at the party; I'm sure you looked great in your new outfit. It is so nice when others notice your hard efforts, and when you start to see the results yourself!! Every once in a while you have to let your hair down, and let yourself have some treats. Today is a new day, and time to continue on with those efforts. We are leaving Friday morning.

Jenn28: Glad you enjoy your new Explorer. We have a 1998 Explorer and it has been very good to us; it has over 180,000 miles on it. My DH drives it and I drive the Tahoe. He plans to drive it until he just can't anymore. Welcome back...good to see you again.

Tranquil: Hope you are feeling better soon.

Serene: Welcome back.

I better go get dinner going. I am going to make some chicken pesto, semolina bowties with broccoli. I am getting hungry.

Take care,
Nat

I figured I better get on here for even the few minutes I have.

It's been a crappy day. I didn't sleep but about 45 minutes last night, wanted so bad to get on here to post but couldn't as MICHAEL pulled another all nighter and didn't sleep a wink. Getting more sick on top of it, I sound like a frog! Thought I'd be able to get some rest but had too many things to do. Had to take MICHAEL to yet another interview, thought they were over with:nono: He had UPENN, then of course, he forgot something at home he needed so had to race home and take him back in the other directions again. At least he had some good news today, he's now moved up to National Merit Finalist:D

Oh, then I had to take LAUREN to the gym and pick her up - need to get my car to the mechanic tomorrow - I'm 1300 miles overdue on an oil change:eek: and want to get other aspects of the car looked at before the trip. Just another 50 or so miles and that car will hae 100K on it!

I'm so tired, I'm seeing double. I didn't even want to drive home but had no alternative. Here I thought at least I'd start on Monday morning and get in my usual post as I am able to do on Mondays. Now even today, I wasn't able to do-- which just plain SUCKS! Sorry, it's not intentional as you guys know - I need the board more than ever... Calgon, take me away - send me to FRUITS!!!!!!!!!!

Geez, look what the cat dragged back in - good to see you oldies;) Missed you guys!

Nite!

I think thats called an oxymoron. Anyway, today starts wk 2 of SB WOE.
I lost 5lbs in wk one(I did better last summer when I followed SB, but I was exercising more- it makes a difference. I just keep reminding myself of how much I hate taking all these pills everyday and how icky they make me feel and try to get thru another day. I've stayed OP for the week but portions & fat & salt intake too high. One step at a time though!

WOW, Serene!!!! Good to see ya! I hope you can get the computer system up and running soon... as well as I agree, it is nice to have that buddy system! Thanks for your compliment on DS - it just shocks me seeing these photos - is that my little one???? He and I measured our feet up next to each other tonight - his foot is WAY Bigger than mine and just less than 6 months ago we were wearing the same size shoe! Maybe you and I can get back into the swing again of posting...support is so important, and to be accountable to something, someone, a group, an individual sure does help!

Pancho: Thank you for the well wishes, I sound like I have my nose pinned shut with a clothes pin, but getting better every minute... I drank Pomegranate/Tangerine juice yesterday for the first time - I am sure it was high in sugar, though not added, but it said it was supposed to be a great source of vitamins ... it was okay - a bit too tart - sort of cranberry like.... You are still going to Northern Arizona on vacation? I had an invite to visit family that are in the process of building a house in Snowflake....maybe in the summer I can get a chance to get out there...

DEB - hmmm, what did the cat drag in? Two large rats, hehehehe.... well, I should speak for myself, one large rat - and a nice, little field mouse, I am not the latter.

Well, I must too doo loo and get some rest - my show is on, BBC's Wire in the Blood - have had a crush on Robson Green for years now... and my favorite thing I ever saw him in was a British chocolate commercial I saw while on vacation during the holidays in London where the girl turns down Robson Green with just a bow on jumping out of a box over a box of some chocolate... sorry, chocolate is just not that Yummmmmmmyyyyyy.. hehehehe....

My MM contribution:

Diamonds are only chunks of coal that stuck to their jobs, you see.
-- Malcolm Forbes

How has your determination paid off for you in your life? So often it is difficult to know when to continue pushing forward and when to let go of a project or an idea.

Leslie wanted to change the culture of her small company. She realized that achieving her goals would require determination. Yet determination was not enough; she knew that she also needed a well-developed plan for the changes to stick in her industry of computer systems, an industry that was rapidly changing. She carefully laid out a detailed plan to achieve her goals, including all incremental steps, with quarterly reviews. She knew real change would take at least five years. At times along the way, Leslie became self-doubting; her determination waned. At times, it seemed that the company was moving backward. Each year, however, Leslie met with her management team and together they assessed the progress of the program. Indeed, the program progressed as planned.

Just for today, I will ask myself what results my determination has produced in my life and accept that some things take time.

SEF: Thanks for the words of wisdom. We were pen pals for a short while, if you like we could renew - ldblond@hotmail.com

Cessprin: Welcome.

Deb: Congrats again to your son, what a wonderful achievement! Your MM's - I thought Ralph Marston was talking directly to me! Thanks for the insights. Sorry you're not feeling well, hope you get better soon.

CherylCo: Thanks for the link and thank you for sharing, it helps to know what another person does during the day. I've had a few people say the understood, but no one would share how the cope at home.

I started Flylady a couple days ago and I'm taking baby steps. This is the 2nd day I haven't wasted in front of the tube or computer. My son said he had fun today too, and didn't ask for TV until late in the afternoon. Still avoiding desk work though, going to try to finish it all tomorrow. I hope to start pool therapy again at the end of the month. It helped reduce my pain and gave me time to do some relaxation techniques that seem to help me control pain better.

It's time to get the little ones off to bed. Tomorrow my goals are to conquer the desk and work on my bedtime routine some more.

It ate my monster post and I'm too tired to try again. I sent lots of love and hugs. Eating was great today. Meeting my news goal of at least 4 days a week so far..woo hoo.

Love and hugs,

Hi, guys. I've got the puny's today. Sore throat, just generally yucky all over. Really wanted to crawl back in bed this morning, but I couldn't. Oh, well. I'm sitting here sitting on some hot tea so maybe that will help. At least dinner's in the crockpot, italian style marinated chicken breasts with spaghetti sauce. I'll pull them out and throw some grated mozzarella and parmesan cheese on them and stick in the oven for a minute and voila! chicken parmesan. It's really good, usually I just bake them and don't mess with the crock pot but I've got a nail appt tonight and I know Joe wouldn't mess with them. I think I've got some salad in a bag to go with it.

Tranquil and Serene, it's good to see you guys again. Wish ya'll were coming to the little soiree at Missy's.

ID-I liked your MM.

Talk to you guys later.

Have we heard anymore from Jackie?

Good morning:

The board has been pretty slow....I guess life is happening. Missing JackK, BOB, Monet, Teensy. Has anyone heard from Talitha? I know she was pretty sick. Any new news on JackK????

Today I am supposed to volunteer in Britt's class for a little while; I don't know if I will get to the gym after that or not....may be too much for Lane.

I am slowly, but surely getting things together. I watched my BFOF last night and didn't even study afterward. I hope I don't blow this test BIG TIME. I hope to study this afternoon before I leave. I am going to get some chili in the slow cooker soon, so I don't have to cook tonight.

Deb: You need your sleep lady....especially when you are sick!! Take care of yourself. Congrats to Michael on Nat'l Finalist.

Donna: Baby steps will get you there; hang in there. 5#'s is 5#'s....Congrats on that.

Tranquil: No, we are going to Telluride, Colorado and spending waaaaaay too much on our room ($550 for three nights), especially since Northern AZ does have some snow now, and we could have gone there and spent way less. We probably won't even ski (with the kids and all). It will be an expensive trip to play in the snow. There goes the Ab Scissor I wanted. OH well, we can't cancel the reservation now, so we may as well go and enjoy ourselves. Getting away from the every day stuff will be nice.

ldblond: What's Flylady?

Country: Way to go.....4 days is a great start. Pretty soon, it will be second nature again.

Well, better go see what the girls are yelling about.

Take care,
Nat

I just balanced my checkbook so needless to say im bummed :(

I signed up for flylady to and i like it for the most part, i dont follow it like it says but the shiny sink is a MUST!! you really do feel great in the morning. The lace up shoe thing just dont work for me. I hate shoes!!! I forgot who asked but the website is www.flylady.com It really does give you some great tips. I make my beds in the morning now, I do 2 15 minute hot spot checks a day and i straighten up and shine my sink everynight. I dry the sink with my daily dish towel and then throw it in the laundry. If you have a stainless steel sink like i do a sos pad or cheaper version of one works WONDERS!!!! I hope one day to take a few more of those baby steps but i need the 21 days to make this a habbit first...lol

I to am wondering about Jack....i wish we would get another update. I know she is sore but i hope she is pleased.

Thats all for now, im o/p so far but i havent even gotten to lunch..lol, but i have my menu made out already so im good to go. Hubby is starting to feel fat now that im loosing..lol...and hes not

HAVE A GREAT DAY EVERYONE!!!

oh, im bidding on some WATP tapes on ebay...3 tapes and the weight balls for $20, so far im high bidder and it ends today..i thought that wasnt a bad price.

hi guys...just a quick flyby. I have so much to do today! Eating was good yesterday, except i had a bite of Dominics chocolate chip cookie yesterday. TOM is here so i felt I had no choice! :)

NAT - Wow I had no idea you can get stuff in your skin through a bath. I guess it makes sence. Poor Britt...what kind of treatments are you doing? Is it a pill thing?

DEB - Get some sleep...hope you are feeling better! Any word on JACKIE??

Trish - Hi, I am sorry I am going to miss the fun at Missy's!!! I hope you all take lots of pics and post them asap! and post while you are all there... I am looking forward to hearing about your fun antics in LA!!!!

Pancho - Oooooh, forget the expense and have lots of fun!!!!! Ever since I booked my trip to Europe, when the Euro was equal to the US Dollar - I have sat and watched the Euro steadily climb, climb, and climb - and the inexpensive trip planned has become not so sweetly cheap! hahaha, my luck! You will have such a wonderful time in such a gorgeous place!!!

I love Flylady - which I learned about on this Board - I always fill my sink up in the kitchen with bleach and soak it...then polish it up like she suggests - and I have eliminated so many cluttering things...though I have a lot further to go....

Here's a Tueday Tip:Here's a Tuesday Tip:

Squeaky Clean? Not Even Close (From NY Times) By AMANDA HESSER

When mad cow disease was discovered in Washington State recently, it made headlines for days and brought action from the federal government. Coupled with a number of E. coli scares, it caused some Americans to swear off hamburger.

But most people don't seem to worry about what experts say is a petri dish for food-borne illness: the home kitchen.

"Everybody is so acutely aware of mad cow disease," said Janet Anderson, a clinical associate professor of nutrition and food sciences at Utah State University, "but people aren't aware of the fact that they don't even wash their hands when they enter their kitchens, which is a much greater risk."

Professor Anderson filmed more than 100 people preparing dinner and found that only two did not cross-contaminate raw meat with fresh vegetables.

It is not only people's hands, though. Dish towels, sinks, refrigerator door handles and warm, moist, crevice-filled sponges are also breeding grounds for bacteria.

"A sponge that's been in use for no more than two or three days in a kitchen will harbor millions of bacteria," said Elizabeth Scott, co-director of the Simmons Center for Hygiene and Health in the Home at Simmons College in Boston. That's a problem, she said, "if you pick up the pathogen or a pathogenic E. coli, salmonella or campylobacter on the sponge."

She added: "That means that any time you use the sponge to wipe up a surface you are potentially spreading those pathogens."

These pathogens are a potential problem mainly for infants, the sick elderly and people with compromised immune systems. But when allowed to multiply on food, they can make the average person sick.

"The basic reality is that the risks that scare people and the risks that kill people are very different," said Dr. Peter M. Sandman, a risk communication consultant in Princeton, N.J. "Risks that you control," Dr. Sandman said, "are much less a source of outrage than risks that are out of your control. In the case of mad cow, it feels like it's beyond my control. I can't tell if my meat has prions in it or not. I can't see it, I can't smell it. Whereas dirt in my own kitchen is very much in my own control. I can clean my sponges. I can clean the floor."

Dread is another factor, Dr. Sandman said. People can deal with sick stomachs, but they absolutely dread the idea of rotting brains.

Fair enough, except that many of the estimated 76 million cases of food-borne illnesses in the United States each year are contracted in the home, and many can be prevented.

Dean Cliver, a professor of food safety at the University of California, Davis, found that microwaving sponges — cellulose ones, not the natural kind — wipes out harmful bacteria. "We did soak sponges in some pretty bad things," he said, "and one minute in the nuke and that pretty much did it."

Dishcloths also become saturated with bacteria, although since they dry more quickly than sponges, bacteria are less likely to breed. They can be microwaved, too, or simply laundered regularly.

Professor Cliver's other notable discovery involved cutting boards. "Somewhere along the line, wood got a bad name," Professor Cliver said. Part of the blame, he said, must go to the rubber industry, which assailed wood cutting boards in order to promote hard rubber and plastic. In recent years, it has become conventional wisdom that plastic cutting boards are safer and easier to clean than wood cutting boards. Even the Food and Drug Administration says that plastic is less likely to harbor bacteria and easier to clean.

But in a study Professor Cliver conducted, he found that cellulose in wood absorbs bacteria but will not release it. "We've never been able to get the bacteria down in the wood back up on the knife to contaminate food later," he said.

Plastic absorbs bacteria in a different way. "When a knife cuts into the plastic surface, little cracks radiate out from the cut," Professor Cliver said. The bacteria, he said, "seem to get down in those knife cuts and they hang out. They go dormant. Drying will kill, say, 90 percent of them, but the rest could hang around for weeks."

In one test he did, raw chicken juices were spread on samples of used wood and plastic cutting boards. Both boards were washed in hot soapy water and dried, then knives were used to simulate cutting vegetables for a salad. No bacteria appeared on the knives cut on wood, but there were plenty on the knives used on a plastic board.

Professor Cliver found that running plastic boards through the dishwasher only spread the bacteria around. The bacteria in the cracks remained. He said that the water in dishwashers must get hotter than 140 degrees or all sorts of bacteria can survive.

Wood cutting boards may be microwaved for five minutes, but Professor Cliver warned that some wood cutting boards contain metal pieces within. He added, "Some people who tried their boards in the microwave had some spectacular fireworks."

Even with clean sponges and cutting boards, no one's kitchen will ever be germ-free because the food supply is not sterile. In 1998, Consumer Reports, for instance, found that 71 percent of store-bought chicken contained harmful bacteria. Most bacteria in food can be killed if the food is cooked properly. But much of the harm happens before the food gets near the oven.

In an experiment performed by Professor Anderson of Utah State University, she and her colleagues covered a chicken with a product called Glo Germ, which is invisible in daylight but visible when exposed to ultraviolet light. The chicken was given to a home cook, who was asked to prepare it. By the time the chicken was done, Professor Anderson said, the light revealed chicken juices everywhere — on the counter, in the sink, on cabinet handles, even on the sippy cup of the cook's 2-year-old child.

Chuck Gerba, a professor of environmental microbiology at the University of Arizona who has studied bacteria in home kitchens, said that he found that people who had the cleanest-looking kitchens were often the dirtiest. Because "clean" people wipe up so much, they often end up spreading bacteria all over the place. The cleanest kitchens, he said, were in the homes of bachelors, who never wiped up and just put their dirty dishes in the sink.

The biggest obstacle seems to be simply getting people to wash their hands. Professor Anderson found that only 34 percent of her subjects washed their hands before cooking, and most failed to use soap. Washing hands in hot soapy water for at least 20 seconds rinses off surface bacteria and makes it difficult for bacteria to cling to skin.

The less bacteria that you pick up, the less likely you will fall ill. Getting people to change their habits, however, is a big mountain to climb.

The truth is, as Dr. Sandman pointed out, bacteria in the home kitchen is simply not mysterious or weird enough. To respond to it, you have to do something very banal: wash your hands. And that's just not as compelling as taking a dramatic stand and halting beef consumption in the face of a brain-rotting disease.

HiedieHo All!

All is well, even though it is a rainy, miserable, achy day. Just want to hibernate.

Went to NH then to beauty parlor yesterday. I had my hair cut Friday, but for some reason the back just wasn't right. The girl was very nice (my girl wasn't there) and she trimmed it up. It was nothing against my usual girl, just one of those things. It's fine now.

Puppy is fine. I want to play with it, but that is a no-no, I don't want to run the risk of it becoming my dog.

Had trouble with staying online yesterday kept getting kicked off. Today seems to be fine.

Has anybody heard anything on Jackk?

SUZY: I always start journaling than miss a meal or snack and that's the end of it. Need more discipline I guess! Enjoy your vacation, we don't have to do something spectacular. It's doing things together that's best.

WOOD: May it go from your dream to reality!!

JACKIE: Even if I don't use my car, it's just nice to know it's there. When we were first married we had two cars, then we realized we couldn't afford them so got rid of mine. Even though I didn't use it every day I felt like I was stranded.

COUNTRY: In that headfirst dive, be careful where you land! I'd preobably land on a creampuff!

FILLISE: So sorry you won't be able to make LA. VD was a nice day when I had a Honey. I think journaling is supposed to make us think of food, only I think it makes some of us have the wrong kind of food fantasies!

PANCHO: I'm one of those people that pack the night before. A friend of mine actually gets her suitcase out a month before and packs and repacks, then when she gwets where she's going she still forgets something. My son had so many allergies and went through desensitivity therapy. It made a world of difference. The only one that did not seem to change was pollens. Good luck with Britt's therapy.

CHRIS: From an old lady who remembers when things were safer. Kids have lost some of the spontaneity of youth. Kids just can't run down the street to a friends house or the park, or have a pick up game of ball, it's just not safe. I'm glad I am not bringing up children now, there is so much more to worry about.

CHERYL: You are doing wonderful! Your determination is an inspiration.

JENN: Nice to see you on board again. We all go through bad times with our woe. If competition is what will motivate you then let the challenge begin!

GATOR: You began and ended your post with two very good MMs! Let the cheat be annoyed! Is it low self esteem that makes her want to pump herself up?

TRANQUIL: Hope your virus has gone bye-bye. DS looks like a heartbreaker to me, girls will be tripping over themselves!
Wire In the Blood! Love that show. Watched it last night. Did you see they are advertising a new Robson show about lawyers. I think it starts the end of this month. The show last night was supposed to be the final episode. I am a confirmed BBCer!

SERENE: Good to see that you are still around! Like your dog!

DEB: You need to get on top of that cold. Can't have you sick! I thought Michael has his license. Let him drive and you stay home. You certainly have a lot o be proud of with your children.

DONNA: That's a motto that helps me a lot, "One Day At A Time".

LDBLOND: Would love to renew! My words of wisdom are not necessarily followed by me all the time. I get discouraged at times and widom goes out the window. I'm doing the LA get-together but worry about being able to keep up with all the young chicks. I love parades but they are exhausting. Have to remember to ask Deb if she'll have room for one of those canvas collaspable chairs. Flylady drove me crazy! 99 posts from her a day it seemed. The ideas were good though.

TRISH: TAke care of that throat quick. You can't be sick for the par-tay!

Okay! I do have a life besides this computer! Time to get on with it!

Take care, Shirley

It's a breezy Tuesday, winds are suppose to get up to 20 mph for the next couple of days, my poor kids - their allergies are going to get them! Still feeling pretty good about my eating overall, last night I had a terrible time with feeling satisfied and ended up eating 2 SF/NF Klondike bars....at least they're all gone now. TOM is around the corner and I'm sure that contributed, along with my pain meds which seem to give me the munchies. DH had some callous words of "wisdom" last night, but he's dead right and I know it. He said that I had low self-worth, self-respect, self-esteem, and something else and that he couldn't help me. I had already identified this and have been working on it daily for the past couple weeks. It does seem like he only sees the negative but hopefully he'll recognize a change, but I guess that it's really more important that I do and I am seeing small changes take place every day. My shiny sink, a picked up house before bed, and the laundry almost done and it's not even 11AM! Plus I spent another day not focused on the silly tv!

Trish: I hope you feel better soon.

Pancho: Check out www.flylady.net.

Vmoore and Sabrina: Happy to know that I'm "flying" with such a great team!

Sef: Send me an email so that I can get your address in my email program and we'll get started :)

Anyone heard anything about Jackie? Deb, are you feeling any better?

Have a good day, off to see what Flylady has instore for me today.

Hi Everybody!!! It's late for me to be just checking the board but today was crazy hectic. I think someone had a sign out on the highway that said "If you are in crisis go drop in on Ashley". One after the other...AHHHHHH. Mardi Gras is a rough time for many people and my workload is evidence of it. I am very much looking forward to unwind and relax with my fellow SugarBuster peeps in a few days. I am getting my car fixed for good on Sat. so I will be ready to hit the road!!! No real problems, just a lot of maintenance stuff all at one time. At least I don't have a car note on top of it. I am just complaining because putting out 1200.00 in 3 days is a lot for me...but as I said before it could be worse. At least I have the money saved and a job to pay for it. If only I could cut out my daily sometimes bi-daily visit to the coffee shop I would save a lot more. Oh well, I'm not ready to give that up yet!!!

Pancho- Great job on getting the exercise in. I hope Britt's allergy problems get resolved. Your upcoming vacation sounds fantastic!!!

Ldblonde- The only person who ultimately has to notice and be OK with you is you, so good luck working on that endeavor. Try to stay positive!!!

Sef- I am just like you with packing the night before. Can't wait to meet you!

Hi to Countrymom, Tranquil, Serene, vmoore, chrisd, Deb, BOB, Fruit, Gatorgal, Woodfrogs, Fillise, Teensy, Rosalie, Monet, Trishaloo, YellowRose, and everyone else. Have a good night!!!

Hi ALL!!!!

Sef!!!! How exciting - another BBCer!!!! I did not see the advertisement but now I am very anxious to see it!!!! It must have something to do with good taste from New Jersey???? heehee Thanks for the compliment on DS - lately he has been extremely worried about looks, causing me to be late getting out of the house!!!!!

JackieO - Have a good evening!!!!

ldblond - I am "Flying" right there with you!!! hahaha

Sorry for such a short post, but getting ready to go to bed now!!!

Take care All!!!!

HiedieHo All!

Weather continued miserable all day, a extra pill day! Didn't do a heck of a lot, visited with DIL, typed some letters, stitched, helped with supper (it was a joint endeavor).

JACKIE: I'm so looking forward to Missy's, just worry I'm older than all of you and a little slower. If I get too tired or stiff, I can stay put, always have a book or handwork with me. Then you can all tell me about your adventures. You can bet I'm going to do all I can and then some! Ignore the moaning, I think the weather just brings it out. Your name will be easy to remember as it's also my GD's! Mardi Gras is a hard time for some because of all the partying, parades and preparations for each! We'll help you relax!

TRANQUIL: Do you like "Murder In Mind"? Do you like Hyacinth, our Rose and Daisy? The Office? I watch sooooo much BBC. I don't know whether it comes form NJ but we do seem to have discerning taste don't we? Some people think boys don't worry about their looks, but I think they can be almost as bad as girls! You could be late to work for a lot worse reasons!

Seems like the Board is very slow. Where is every body?

Take care, Shirley

i LOVE BBCAmerica!! I got hooked on it one holiday, watching TV with my housemates while they were running a Changing Rooms marathon. Changing Rooms, Ground Force, Cash in the Attic... I love them. And they had a series with John Hannah from Four WEddings and a Funeral that I really liked too. Rebus, I think it was called.

And while we're talking hobbies in common, I'm a confirmed Creative Memories Scrapbooker, although it has been forever since I did it.

I think our digital scale has bit the dust. It flickered and died when I tried to check it out tonight. But maybe that was for the best, I had two really BAD days this week, Vince and I were out and were starving, and still had three hours until we could go get his wife and have dinner, so we hit McDonald. Two small chicken sandwiches and small Sprite,,,plus the fries they gave me for free! Then we went to Ryans for supper, and it was not too bad, except for the fried chicken and a helping of banana pudding.
I went shopping the next day, ended up with two apple pie snacks, a bag of hershey's nuggets, kettle chips. UGH!! But, other than those two horrendous days, Ive been OP and I did two hours of water aerobics tonight, have another two hour class on Thursday. I'm loving water aerobics.

DONNA_ doing good, sweetie. Hang in there!

SERENE- Glad you;re back, plenty of duck tape if you wanna hitch to the wagon.

Everyone- HUGS!! Be as kind to yourselves as you would to anyone other person you love.

Good Wednesday morning all. I haven't weighed in yet, and I'm thinking I might just skip it and wait a few more weeks. I'm starting to get frustrated that the scale isn't moving . . . and I don't think standing on it each week and seeing it not move is helping. Eating has been good - OP for two days now and haven't had any "extras". I find that journaling helps a lot because if I have to write it down, I'll think twice about it before I put it in my mouth. Kind of like confession on paper

Not too much else going on here. Just trying to get through the next three days before we break for February vacation. I'll be running around this afternoon and tomorrow picking this one up here and that one up there - but I'm really looking forward to being able to sleep in on Saturday without having to get up for Danny's 7:30 basketball game. I think I'm starting to get the "cold" that some of you have had. My chest has been tight and I'm all stuffed up - so a few days of rest is sounding better and better.

ACRAYNE - I too do Creative Memory scrapbooking! I probably have about $500.00 worth of products - more than I need, mind you - but everytime they come out with something new, I think "oh I have to get that, it will look so great with my photos" or "I need those stickers to do this page, etc." Of course, I still have three half-finished albums and another brand new one just waiting for me to start working on them. Perhaps next week when I'm home with the boys . . .

PANCHO - Have a great time on your trip. Remember to relax - don't do so much beforehand that you're too tired to enjoy the trip. That is what mother's do - all the running around beforehand and then when they arrive at their destinations, they are exhausted! Hope you did well on your test - I have't had to face that challenge yet with my class, but I'm sure it will be coming! I too have been wondering about Talitha - she hasn't been on for a long time - I think just after the New Year. Hope all is well with her - b/c I too remember she was really sick.

Anyone watch S&C Sunday? What did you think? I thought it was intense - to see Carrie so firm in her decisions and so vocal to Miranda was a side I wasn't use to. I can't help but wonder if she'll really go or if Big will step in and stop her . . .

Okay - gotta fly. Speaking of fly - thank you ladies for the flylady website. I'll need to check that out . . .

Good morning weigh in wednesday. I was a little worried after saturdays china buffet but i managed to lose 1 1/2 pounds!!! Down to 191.5!! I want to hit the 180's soooo bad!!! I WILL BE THERE NEXT WEDNESDAY!! I am determined!!!
Going to get my hair done today and then have to take daughter to get her belly button ring changed out ( fathers 17th b-day present to her :o ) Then taking son to get his hair cut. If its not raining today i plan to go walking. Then hubby wants to go eat outback steak house. Staying on plan is easy there. Steak, veggies and salad. Nothing is gonna keep me from the 180's next week.
Congrats to all the losers this week!! We can do this, we are stronger than any food out there!!!We have taken the power back from the fudge brownie!!It no longer controls us, we control our destination.

HAVE A GREAT DAY!!! ;)

Okay, so I've started a crap load of posts that don't seem to get too far for one reason or another, so I'm going to just pop in here and tell you all that I'm alive (barely), sick as s dog, tired as all ****, have too many things going on at once and no time OR desire to do a single thing, and sorry to say, though I want to get on the board, I don't want to get on the board - I don't want to sit at the computer, I'm so achey! MICHAEL leaves this weekend and still needs clothes and winter gear, some more darn forms have to be filled out before the 15th which I keep putting off day after day. LAUREN absolutely NEEDS to start learning to drive more because I seriously am thinking she's going to be needing a car soon - she has me running her to the gym to the library on Saturday for her class she's teaching, school for rehearsals and now she just signed up to go to this school after her school gets out to do the buddy thing where they pair kids up with down syndrome kids - can't remember the organization - brain is being eaten by green gunk! OH, let's not even forget that it's ORAL EXAMS time and I have to fill all the slots of exams that have started YESTERDAY - have 10 more slots to fill and make sure I call all parents the day before as a reminder to be there. Have to make sure I give my list to someone who will help me while I am gone. Hmmm, what else - I have nothing to wear to LA -nothing fits::cry:

So, here I am, wanting to go to sleep when I should be posting a long post that's so overdue, but I just have no desire whatsoever and I truly hope you guys understand - all I can say is that I'm sorry and I hope you forgive me for not being around.

I am not weighing in because of TOM!!!!! I will wait another couple of days when I know for sure there is no water weight :)

SEF- Yes, I watch Murder in Mind, The Vice, The Office (if I get a chance to), I love Keeping Up Appearances - Hyacinth is hysterical - I also used to watch her detective show ..., and many more.... Don't be worried about keeping up with everyone at the get together - you will do fine and they will make you feel comfortable and welcome!!!!

Arcayne - me too, Changing Rooms was addictive the first time I ever saw it, as well as Ground Force, but Ground Force to me is not the same without Alan Titmarsh (sp?)....I also like their new one, Life's Laundry. I don't watch Rebus too much, but my most worn out video tape is 4 Weddings & a Funeral - and the scene that brings me goosebumps is when he reads the poem "Funeral Blues" at the funeral - my favorite poem. Serene had gotten me into scrap booking - I did several, bought tons of stuff to do a new one, but have yet to take the time to put it all together!!! I really need to!!!

SuzyB - S&C, cannot miss it! I was shocked, to say the least, by Carrie's reaction to Miranda, but I am not so sure it is jealousy on Miranda's part...though I understand her wanting to move on as everyone else has (and did you know the writer married a man in England and picked up and moved there not too long ago? so maybe that is where this angle is going), but I want BIG to show up!!!!! He means children, family, long time love, etc. - Barishnikov, I just don't know.... I think our next big surprise will be Charlotte getting pregnant with her hands full of puppies!!!

VMoore - Congrats to the loss - shows you have been keeping up with the program :)

DEB - sorry you are feeling so miserable....there is a light at the end of the tunnel...today is the first day without a sinus headache, sore throat, or aches and pains, and I don't sound as stuffy...it took me 8 days, plus a stomach virus, and antibiotics (Biaxin, 7 pack), Clarinex, and I am feeling pretty good today - even though the weather is absolutely dreadful!

Got to go....

Good weigh-in-wednesday.....I hope. I weighed in at 121# today, and am o.k. with that; I want to get back to 119-120# and just stay there, but what's a few #'s of fluctuation! I got to the gym Monday, Tuesday & this morning....I hope to go tomorrow to get 4 full days in before we leave Friday a.m. I took my test last night, and think I did well. I finished so early that I went to the gym; I thought they closed at 9:30, but it was at 9:, so I only got 10 minutes on treadmill, but I got the rest of my workout in. I was surprised how many people were there that late. I have a load of laundry in the washer, and will come home after dropping Britt off at school to finish up. My slow-cooker chili, made with ground buffalo, turned out great topped with a little sour cream and cheese. I left for school and my DH left it out in a tupperware container, forgetting to put in the fridge, so I had to throw it out. I didn't trust keeping it after it had been out for 4 hours. So, there goes my lunch for today. Oh well. I have some okra I will boil and eat with something else.

chrisd: They are treating Britt with drops under her tongue, some drops in water & one pill. Her stomach aches are getting much better, but she is still coughing a lot when eating, due to the eosonophils on esophagus. One thing at a time, I guess.

sef: Thanks...I sure hope this therapy works for Britt too. I want her to be 100% well. I could never be a last minute packer. If it were just me and I forgot something, I could find a way to do without it, but if I forget one little thing of the kids, I'll hear about it  .

ldblond: Thanks for the info. on Flylady; it sounds as if it is a "get your life organized" site, right?

jackieO: What a way to spend saved monies; I hope that is all you have to sink into that vehicle for a looong time.

Suzy: I hope you are not getting sick; you need to be well to enjoy your vacation time. Enjoy sleeping in on Saturday; I don't even know what that is anymore. I think I did o.k. on my test, we will see next week. We should have a good time in Colorado...looking forward to the quiet time away.

vmoore: Congrats on the 1.5#'s....180's HERE WE COME!!! I will be anxious to see your weigh-in next week.

Deb: Are you busy enough???? Sorry you are feeling so crappy. You are missed!

Heart: What's with the "hello?" Is there a confession you need to make  ? Sit down, and take a deep breath....your SB sisters are here. Hope you are doing well!

Better run!
Take care,
Natalie

I lost a pound this week so back to 158 again...and again..and again..LOL But I am truly happy with it. I'm trying to remember it's not all about the weight but eating right and being healthy. Of couse the lower the number the better I feel... :) Some things will never change.

Nat...WTG getting in you exercise. I'm happy with my recommittment after the first of the year. My goal is 4 times but I'm actually hitting 6 workouts a week and I can emotionally. I think execise is the one thing that keeps me of anxiety medicine.

Deb...sure hope you feel better soon.

Arcayne...Woo hoo on all the exercise you are getting.

Vmoore...yeah on the 180's coming up!!!

HeartMom...((hugzz))

JackieO...good to see you this morning.

Trish...hope you feel better soon.

Welcome back Windy and Sabrina...it was soooo good to see ya'lls post the other night.

SuzyB...hang in there. I've stayed around the same weight for almost 2 years. I understand how frustrating it can get. I let it get to me and put on a couple more..not a good thing.

Sef...howdy! How's your shoulder?

Yellow...WTG with all your walking. How's your sweetie feeling?

ldblond...can't remember if I said welcome back, but good to see you back posting.

Morning Bob...are you feeling better?

Missy, Susan, Barbara, Beth, Jenn and the many other names I'm missing. Thinking of ya'll.

Wishing everyone an awesome second half to the week. OP feeling strong and encouraged.

Love and hugs,

Oh, did I fail to mention, my TOM is 5 days late (but I do feel it coming on), I have to go to AAA, not to mention clean out my car before I take MICHAEL and his 2 friends to the airport EARLY Sat. morning at 5am AND ELI'S boss has given employee's significant others a task to make a collage of what I think about when I think about him which will have to be done before I leave????

I don't have a darned tooting thing to do, do I????:fr:

Feeling icky and not wanting to do any of this but have to start to get ready so I can get the kids, bring them home, take LAUREN to the gym and I'm PRAYING ELI will be able to bring her home, though that will mean he won't get home til about 9pm.

Oh yes, I need to stop and BREATHE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh yeah, I CAN'T do even that! Oh, forgot, have to clean off the dining room table so LAUREN & her friend have their study place!

Good weigh-in wednesday to everyone! So happy to see all the losers and maintainers today! I am also happy to report that I have broken new ground! 219 this morning. That makes 51 pounds gone! YIPPEE!!!!
Today was a huge walking/hiking session with some people doing a master plan for a town park(500 acres park), and they wanted a forestry perspective. I managed to sweat thru all the layers of clothes I had on. And somehow managed to miss lunch...
so I'm skipping the treadmill today(because my feet still hurt).

Some replies:
Arcayne - I too am a scrapbooker and use mostly all CM products - I do pick up stickers and paper from the local craft store. But I love CM's tools!
SuzyB156 - It seems like quite a few of us love CM! I have most of their "stuff". I'm working chronologically and may never finish, but I'm having fun! I also host an almost weekly scrapbooking night, definitely social, and people can bring other crafts projects that they're working on.
I'm going to go curl up on the futon with my crochet and watch TIVO for awhile, and do laundry. Have a great night everyone!

HiedieHo All!

It's a lovely day today....................NOT!

Spent the morning at church doing some giling and copying for choir, and then some copying for the Joyful Noise. I was there over three hours, about an hour too long! Wouldn't be so bad except I'm going through an achy time.

DIL decided to name puppy Chloe. Chloe is so cute and we have been pretty luck with the housebreaking.

Guess we found a few people, there are some posts today. Too miserable here to do anything else!?!

ARCAYNE: Another BBCer! The problem I have is their series are not very long lived. There weren't many episodes of Rebus. I like Ground Force too, miss Alan T. though, Tommy is a keeper. I want to do some scrapbooking, have a slew of grandparent age photos, can do a breif family history for DS & DD.

SUZY: I hate scale too! Especially when nothing seems to be happening and I think it should be. My clothes are my favorite guide. My scale is kaput too, I went cheap and that's not good.

V: Good loss! Seems like a busy day was planned.

DEB: Hope you feel better. Need some Debbie time. Geez girl you better breathe, think of the alternative!!!!!

TRANQUIL: Patricia Rutledge also did a Special, a one woman show. Really showed another side of her acting ability. Wainthrop, Hyacinth and the one woman show are all diverse types. I know I will be OK, I will push myself, at the LA soiree. I just worry about things like that, as I do have limits I try to ignore.

PANCHO: Hope you did well on your test. Glad for good weigh-in.

COUNTRY: Howdy! Shoulder doesn't hurt constantly, but still when I use it. Thwe shot didn't help much. Have a follow-up visit the first.

WOOD: I crochet also. Love to watch TV and either stitch or crochet.

Have to get ready for choir practice so better say Ta Ta!

Take care, Shirley

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

Went to the DOC today, and I guess I'm cured  I've had three weeks of antibiotics, advil, sudefed....nose mist...he poked and proded all over my face, didn't find any place that hurt like it did when I went the last time. I do feel so much better, but now I'VE GOT TO DEAL WITH DEBBIE BEING SICK!!! I gave her instructions last night on what she needed to stop and get, but did she????? NO!!! She's going to run herself right into the ground if she doesn't watch out! She sounds horrible, and she doesn't feel much better than horrible!

My Doc still wants me to go to the Pain Center and let the Pain Doc work me over...I've not had a lot of pain lately, but if he can give me an injection to block where it hurts, then I'm willing to try. I just don't want any hard core drugs and if he can treat me without that part of it....so be it!

ANYONE HEARD ANYTHING ABOUT JACKIE????? I know that Deb hasn't heard from her Co-Worker again...I'm so anxious about the results...hope we hear soon!

ARCAYNE...GET THEE AWAY FROM THE FAST FOOD LANE!!! IT'S POISON!!! and will only harm what you're trying to accomplish...

ASHLEY...Don't feel bad about the $$$$$ you're sinking into your car....if you remember, it was a race between me and Deb to see just how much we could spend on our old buggys...I've got half of a new car in mine! BUT...it's cheaper than a new one!
Is Community Cash in your area? I need to pick up some chicory coffee for a friend of mine, and my previous Boss says it's the best!
Glad to hear your partay was a success...did everyone come dressed as you requested?

NAT...have a great time on your trip...be careful and don't get to bold!!!

BARB... {{{{{{{CONGRATS ON YOUR 51lbs!!!!}}}}}}}}}} Keep it up Girlfriend....you're on your way!

CRYSTLE....Yes, finally, I'm feeling better...the only thing is that this crud seems to keep coming back!!! Thanks for asking....CONGRATS on your loss!
1lbs is better than 5lbs....

SABRINA...I can't wait for the pictures from your trip...I've always wanted to go where you're touring....is your Grandmother going this time?

WENDY...I saw your sorry butt had posted yesterday....Glad you're back....now stick around!! Don't make me come to jacksonville!!!

VMOORE....{{{{{{CONGRATS ON THE LOSS!!}}}}}}}}}}}} You definately sound determined Girlfriend, and you WILL SUCCEED!!!

SUZY.....get to the DOC and catch this before it gets any worse! Get some AUGMENTIN....it's the best!!! ALSO...sudefed w/decongestion and antihistamine...If you've got an ECKERD around, Their brand is the bomb!
Feel better!

Well...I think I've hit everyone;...if not...please know that I'm thinking about each and every one of you!!! :balloons:

I'm crawling up in the four poster unwinding and prop up the pillows!

I just got back from Outback Steakhouse....mmm i did very good...steak w/onions, steamed veggies and salad. I even have enough steak left over for a steak omelet in the morning...mmm

I won the bid on those WATP tapes on ebay. the 3 tapes and the weights for 25.25 with shipping...i didnt think that was bad.

Pancho- Im sure you did great on your test...let us know when you find out.

Barbara- Congrats on your weightloss!!!I cant wait to get there also!!!!

Heart- Nice of ya to stop by, hope you can stay longer next time...lol

Monet- Hope all is well, we miss ya.

Deb- your gonna have a burnout real soon if you dont slow down. Im glad your trip is coming up. You really need it.

BOB - Glad to hear you are feeling better, it is amazing how bad this virus is - it started here with Zachary, then myself, then at work it has been one person after another falling down with it - even clients have come in with its beginnings - sore throat, incredible sinus pain, fever, awful.... and with DEB having it - hmmmm... I am thankful for my antibiotics, Motrin, sinus medicine and Flonase..... I will definitely share my photos with you when I go - I am going with DS only - just a Mommy and Me around as much European countryside as we possibly can fit in ... hahaha.... I cannot believe it will be less than 30 days till we leave! Starting to look at fashion mags and Paris boutique sites to see ideas for clothes to bring - meanwhile I wish you were closer - you could help me so much with the shopping bug that has attacked me - we could go to the Millenia Mall and Florida Mall in Orlando and shop, shop, shop - doesn't that sound dreamy???? hahahaha

Country - HI!!!! How are you doing!!!! I know, long time know hear.... sorry - sounds like you have done well with your weight - even if it is a little up here and down there....

Sef - I understand very well about pushing the limits when wanting to have fun and keep up with others - I tend to do the same thing, and only end up sick as a dog and miserable...or sore, sore, sore.... But, I am sure you will be well cared for, well fed, lots of laughs, and watched over :) I must look for this one woman show with Patricia Rutledge... I loved Hetty Wainwright!!!

WoodFrog - WAY TO GO ON 51 POUNDS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!

JackieO - One pound is great - I know that next week I am looking forward to seeing what the scale says for me, but not right now....just because of water weight.... But keep up the good work.....

Pancho - I would be a meer whisp of fluff is I weighed 121! hahahaha - You LUCKY YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well tonight I really have not eaten too much because my taste buds are still off whack from the smeller being stuffed up...Sugar free Ice Pop to the rescue and Diet Coke...not very nutritional - but hit the spot.... poor Serene, I am smelling things, told her I thought she smelled, come to find out it was the chili being eaten for lunch and my whacked out nose!!!! I sure do apologize for worrying her - hahahaha - I am so NOT FUN to be around sometimes....and that is no LIE!!!!! I just also want to say it is such a joy to have my parents close to me now - after living thousands of miles from them for the past 17 years - this is such a pleasant change....

Too doo loooooooo, Sabrina

Good evening buds!

Sorry I've been MIA again. I'm trying to get school stuff done and get my house ready for the par-tay!

DEB: I sure hope you feel better soon cause you are gonna need all of your energy girl to hit some parades!!

BOB: As for what to bring...good question! I won't know more until next week. It can be 40 degrees one day and 70 the next. So, I'll let y'all know next week!

ASHLEY: Girl...save some of that money for par-taying!! WOOHOO!!

Well, I'm going back to do some work! I'm glad all of you are doing well. I'm not posting my weight because of TOM! That b*st*rd is back again! Oh well, better now than next week! Nothing like trying to find a bathroom for Mardi Gras or having to pee in a bush somewhere when you are on your period! Do y'all have a visual of me doing that now? Just imagine...me...drunk and squatting behind some bush and trying not to pee on my pants. Hey - it happens sometimes! But, we sure do have fun!

Ok - see y'all tomorrow!

WIW: Still holding at 170.5, not surprised that there is no weight loss with the carb intake increased this last week - yes it was legal, but too much.

Jackie - Thanks for your encouraging words.

Deb - Feel better soon.

Pancho - Yes, FLYLADY actually is "Finally Loving Yourself" and helps with organization of life.

Country - Thanks, it's good to be back!

SEF - I'm aching right along with you and taking that extra pill or two a day also. I hope we both feel better soon. Got your email - thanks!

Going to go crawl in bed, talk to you all tomorrow.

Morning everyone - I'm tired today. I ended up staying up later than I wanted to b/c I was in the middle of a new painting project and wanted to finish it. I'm painting some sunflowers on items for my sister to put in some gift baskets that she does. They still need a lot of work, but at least I got the concept down. However, despite being tired, my head and chest do feel better - so that is a good thing.

DEB: I hope you feel better. Try to slow down a little - and dont' worry about us. We know you are here in spirit . . .

SEF: My neighbors use to have a black lab named Chloe. She was the best dog. Puppies are fun, but a lot of work. Our next dog will be an older one, probably a mutt. We use to have a pure bred Golden Retriever, named Trooper. He was great - but very, very hyper and A LOT of work. So, I'm looking for a much calmer, quiet dog this time around.

BOB: Glad to hear that you are feeling better!

VMoore: Dinner sounded really good. I'm think we might have steak and veggies tonight!

COUNTRY: Congrats on your loss! You did it! Good for you!

WOOD: I just got a flyer the other day from my CM consultant. She is hosting a few cropping parties in the next few weeks and I'm thinking of going to one of them. It will give me a chance to get some pages down while socializing with some friends as well.

JACK-K - Doubt you will read this - but thinking of you ;)

Monet - Hope all is well . . .

TALITHA: Where are you????? Hope all is okay . . .

Okay - I'm hitting the shower. Have a great day everyone! ! ! !

Hey, guys. Didn't go back to sleep this AM, so now I have time to post. Well, let me get my confession outta the way. I've been so outta control with my eating that I have literally made myself sick at times, and I'm disgusted by it all. I'm like a junkie. I have NEVER ate so much as I have lately, not even when I weighed 278 pounds! This is ridiculous and it has to stop. I'm ashamed at my bingeing. For some reason, I'm having such a horrible time getting and staying on track. I do good for a couple days and then blow it, and not just a cheat here and there, no we're talking large quanities of illegal foods. I'm going to have to just bear it and "start" fresh. I'm up 3 pounds from my low, believe me, if it weren't for my exercising, it would be alot more than that. Okay, now that I got that outta the way, let me backtrack. Saturday was Ashley's bday. We went skating. At first I was like Bambi stepping out on ice, then it all came back to me and before you know it, I was zooming across the rink. I didn't even fall. I worked up a good sweat and was sore the next day AND had blood blisters to go along with it! Ouch! I still have the blisters. I guess that's what I get trying to act like a teenager again, lol. I didn't exercise until Tuesday because of the blisters. But I had fun. Then we had her party at my Mom's. Ate a ton of illegal food. Ashley got way too much stuff for her bday, and mainly from us. I personally don't agree with getting her so much crap when she's been misbehaving so much lately. But DH's policy is that the kids will always have good bday's and Xmas's because he didn't. Anyway, Sunday we had lunch at my grandmother's and then went out to eat for supper. I managed to stay 100% OP that day. Then Monday was awful. Tuesday was halfway on track, and I ate everything in site yesterday plus went to the store and bought more junk food and inhaled it. The instructor at my exercise class at church informed me that she wasn't going to be able to teach class Saturday, so looks like I will be her fill-in. I'm a little nervous because my mind tends to go blank when in front of people. I'm suppossed to teach 1/2 the class tonight for some practice. I plan on doing walking aerobics based upon WATP tapes. I hope I do okay. Anyone heard anything from Jack-k yet? I've been really thinking about her. I hope she's doing okay.

Good Thursday Morning:wave:

How are all you wonderful women?? I'm doing SOOOOO much better this morning, seems a lot of the junk must of come to a head last night and this morning and I do feel better. Last night my nose starting running like a faucet all of a sudden and then in a matter of a few minutes my voice got REALLY bad, like I sucked down a frog, ELI asked "what happened?" Literally went out of the room, came back in a few minutes and a total voice make-over had occured:shrug: This morning I was sneezing like a nutball but it must of been good because afterwards I was able to bring up all the garbage that I didn't realize was down in my lungs, won't go in to color details so early in the morning. I just feel tired now, which I'm sure with some rest today, that will turn around. I want to do things in the house because you have NO idea:nono: how bad the house looks, but then I don't want to push myself too hard either and go backwords, so I'm going to take it easy today.

I heard from JACKK'S co-worker and she said:

Hi, I work with Jackie and wanted to update you on her condition.* She is doing great.* She went to the Dr. for a checkup yesterday and he said she is three weeks ahead of where they expected her to be.* She hasn’t had any pain to speak of and feels guilty being home because she feels so good!* She hasn’t been able to get online yet, but I know she would want you all to know that she feels great and appreciates all your good thoughts and wishes!* Feel free to contact me if you don’t hear from Jackie in the near future.

Happy Sugar Busting!

Fabulous news! I e-mailed her back to see if she knew if JACKK at least got our flowers. She made no mention, as you can see. Will let you know if I hear back.

Okay, just got an e-mail in the interm:

I’m not sure about the flowers.* I know she got a bunch of e-mails from you all at the hospital though!

I have so much to do, I don't know what to do first. MICHAEL is so not ready for this trip on Saturday. I haven't even begun to try to pack for my trip to LA either - who's had time? I'm just hoping now that I'm feeling better things will get back to normal. I don't know how much time I'll be able to get on the board between now and when I leave, it may just be quickies here and there, which I hope you understand. You have NO idea when we have get togethers all the crap I bring with me and have to remember to bring with me and all the things I have to do to prepare, and things to prepare, like a CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thankfully, TOM came yesterday, which means it's going to be gone before I leave AND means I won't get any of my funky mid-cycle headaches!!! YIPEEEEE!!!!!:spin:

Okay, I'm going to check in later, for now, I'm going to do some minor, barely lift a finger things that need to be taken care of.

Hi gals. Glad to see so many losers this week.

I suspect that someone on this board might have an infected computer that has been "hijacked" and is being used to send out spam. The reason I think this might be so is that I have been getting a ton of e-mails from various Spam blockers telling me that the e-mail that I sent was blocked. Of course, the e-mail that I "sent" was not anything that I sent, and I don't even remotely recognize the e-mail addresses. So--y'all might check out your computers. I happen to have a Mac, and they are not generally the victims of viruses. I also have a firewall, virus protector set up to automatically download patches, and I have a DSL Router, which gives further protection. My son is a computer "nerd" and here's what he said.

"There are a couple of things that could be going on. first, someone on a listserve or someone you've sent mail to has your address in their address book, and their computer got infected, and the virus sends out emails from the infected computer, inserting the addresses from the infected computer's address book into the TO: and FROM: fields, meaning that someone could get a virus mail "from" your address."

So--If I could ask a favor of everyone. If you have me listed in your address book, could you please delete me for now. Hopefully this will take care of this problem. If it does not, then I will let you know and you can add me back in. Then I will look for another problem that might be causing this. Thanks a lot.

Got my walk in today. I'm feeling lots better and took my last antibiotic pill today. Still not back on lots of veggies and fruits.

Hope Jackie is doing OK. She probably is having some pain as she had lots done.

Well darn it lost a post!

Iblond
I have noticed a huge improvement in my attitude and actions the past few weeks. It's been 5 years since I got sick. I think I've finally come to terms with my disabilities. I don't like them but they are there. My poor DH has put up with a lot of crap from me. I have a money spending problem. I buy things when we don't have the money too. Every day I think about running off to the store or ordering something online and I really have to fight myself to not do it. I don't buy a expensive things but I piddle away the money. I'm supposed to be in charge of household bills and DH's business account. I have done a dismal job on both. My house is pretty clean, just not organized. I think doing the WATP tapes have given me energy and watching Dr. Phil every morning has really woken me up to my faults. My DH also told me I have to work out my issues with my disabilities myself and find my solid ground because nobody else can do it for me. He was right. I think I have finally realized that I cannot do things I used to do so I'm going to do the best damn job doing the things I can do! I have never read self help books. But I brought Mary Hunt's Debt-Proof Living and
The Zen of Organizing books. I will get my house under control, I will get DH's business under control I will get my credit straightened out. I have no excuse not too. Yesterday I started entering 2003's business checks into Quicken. A little late but I need it for taxes. I have tried every day to get something done or continue a good habit.
My actions have really made me happy and it's taking a load off DH's mind because he knows he's got help now.
I don't know what's changed inside of me to finally get going but I'm so glad it happened!
I'm checking out flylady today!

I read all the posts and had more replies, just lost the post and don't have time to write more.
I've had a difficult past few days. My 16 year old Heather was acting not herself the past week. Avoiding school and her Jazz band practices. The other night she came down around 11:30 and just started bawling. Apparently she is having depression issues. She had them before 2 years ago but we put it down to starting high school. With all that is going on nowadays with kids committing suicide I was worried but told her to really try to get back into good sleeping habits and getting daily exercise and her mood would improve.
Well next day I drive her to school and she's sitting there and starts crying. She says she just can't go in. I just felt like I needed to really take action now. So I drove directly to the doctors. They got us right in and she has this wonderful woman doctor that I really like. Come to find out (even though I had asked her this) she has had thoughts of suicide, even went as far as cutting her arm and she pinches herself to feel like she's there because she feels so numb. This freaked me out because I've seen this on TV and it's scarry! Well come to find out the depression was real bad 2 years ago, so bad she was terrified when it started happening again. So she told me, but I kinda put it off as teenager stuff. My husband was totally just "It's just her age" Thank God I listened to my mom's intuition because it is real depression and not her age. She starts therapy today. It's an intensive 3 week program. 4 days a week from 3 to 5. Group therapy, family therapy and one on one with a shrink. We don't know if she'll need medication yet. I've been mentally and physically stressed out the past few days. It is scary. I have a very close relationship with my daughter. We talk about everything. I am involved with her friends and school. She's a smart kid. I figured all the bases were covered. I know it could have been much worse. I get chills thinking about just how bad it could have been.
So now we have a new journey into therapy land. I've never been there before so it should be interesting.
I wrote all this to remind all the parents that even when thinks look fine, listen to that guardian angel whispering in your ear! Better safe then sorry!

Good morning:

Wow...such a busy day yesterday. Britt had her V-day party at school and then we all exchanged V-day gifts here since we will be out of town on Saturday. MY DH ORDERED MY AB SCISSOR, AND IT S/B IN ANYDAY. HE IS SO SWEET!!! I am so excited to get rid of this excess fat on my gut. I ate some chocolates, and my tummy didn't feel too hot for awhile afterwards; it really wasn't even worth it, except for the one chocolate caramel.

I stayed up late to get some more stuff packed up, and I am well on my way for being prepared for this trip. HOWEVER, I went to cover Lane up last night after she went to sleep, and it smelled like she had pooped her diaper (which she never does at night). I changed it and it smelled foul, but wasn't diarrhea. At around 1:30 this morning, she started crying and calling for Mommy. I walked into her room, and she had thrown up all over herself and in her crib. I had to change sheets, and wash her blankie. Doesn't it figure??? My kids have been well for weeks/months, and now 1 day before our departure, Lane gets sick. I hope Britt doesn't get it, or it will probably hit in the vehicle on the way. She doesn't have a fever though, and doesn't seem to feel too bad. We will see how the day plays out. Needless to say, I won't be getting to the gym.

I am so happy to hear that JackK is doing so well!!! I am curious about the pathology report. I hope they got it all out of there, and that it was centralized. I can't wait to hear from her.

Country: Glad you lost that stubborn pound. It is not all about the weight, but that is what we all seem to focus on the most. I know that I feel good, and that is truly priceless. Exercise is important for so many reasons, and has been proven to release stress. If you don't exercise, those hormones start circulating your system without a release and get bottled up and cause health problems. You are doing fantastic on your exercise.

jackieO: Yeah....150's! Congrats. Keep us the exercise. 1 hour on the eliptical is a looong time...that's great.

Deb: You wear me out just reading your posts.

Wood: You are doing fantastic. Losing 51#'s is no small feat....it is a tremendous accomplishment. You s/b very proud.

BOB: So glad to see you back. I am glad you are feeling better!!!

vmoore: I'll be anxious to hear what you think about the WATP tapes, I've heard them referenced so many times before. Are they Richard Simmons?

Suzy: Glad you are feeling better. I too was up too late last night. I am almost ready to go though.

Heart: Ashley's party sounds like a lot of fun. I haven't been on ice skates for years; I'm glad to hear it comes back to you. I would like to take Britt someday. Good luck teaching your class; I'll be anxious to hear how you do. Maybe that will be the motivation you need to get back on track.

Cheryl: So sorry to hear about your dd; I am so glad you picked up on her "mood." High school years can be so tough these days. It is so hard to know where you fit in and what it right/wrong. I hope she is able to get what she needs out of this therapy, and starts to be her old self again. Hang in there, and try to be strong during these times!!! I will be praying for her & you.

I will probably check in later, but will be heading out tomorrow a.m.

Take care,
Nat

More re. the "virus". I just ran a virus scan on my whole computer system, and there are zero viruses. So someone's computer out there which has my address in their addy book has been zapped. Time to check your system, gals.

Good morning SBers!
A few replies and such before lunchtime. I'm be walking on the treadmill tonight between my dentist appt and supper/scrapbooking. I should be able to get in 2 miles at least. I'm really motivated after seeing the scale respond so well. I have several people coming over tonight, I don't think that everyone will be scrapping, but it'll be fun anyway.

Pancho - Sorry to hear that Lane isn't feeling well. I hope that it doesn't affect your trip. I think that I've weighed too much for long enough and getting rid of the excess just makes me feel so muchbetter.
Cherlyco - You'll be in my prayers, both for getting yourself together and for believeing in your guardian angel and getting help for your DD. My heart goes out to both of you.
Sef - It's so great to hear from other crafters. I'm working ona cro-hook afghan in pink/purple. It's been a project for a long time now and it may be about 1/2 done! Definitely the best way to keep busy while watching TV and NOT snacking.
SuzyB156 - Definitely hit at least one cropping event. I get so much done at the ones where I don't know anyone(it's easier to journal). When my friends are over I mostly mount pics and journal later.
Heartmom - WTG on the skating, we all need to act like kids sometimes. ;)

Have a great day everyone!

Hi SB friends,

Again, I am sorry for MIA. No excuse, just need to put more effort. Eating has been ok, legal most of the days except yesterday, Had fried chicken for lunch and dinner. It was just one of my cravings that I had to get it over with...lol. I am down a lb since last week is certainly a good news.

I just want to let you all know I am okay but I won't be able to reply to all of you now. I read all the posts and thinking of all of you especially Jack-K. I am glad she is doing well.

Gator : I have the same problems with my mail. I keep getting mails returned to me which I never sent. I really don't know what to do at this moment. Dh is a computer nerd too and said there is no virus in our computer so he suspected that someone else is probably using my email address. Thanks for your ds explanation. I will let him know.

Talk to you all soon.

Hi Gang!

Finnaly able to get on the computer here at home. Things are going great and I feel wonderful. The surgery was a breeze. Not near as bad as I thought. Had a Dr. appt yesterday and he said I am 3 weeks ahead of where I should be. I really do feel good and sort of feel guily about being home.

I want to thank all of you for the beautiful roses. They were simply georgous and you all should not have done that. I really loved all the email messages I got too. I think my family was blown away by all the support from a bunch of "internet strangers". I think they have become believers now.

I haven't been able to read the posts. Hopefully next week I will be back on here full time. My DS is staying with me this week. She has been a great help. I think I can do it all now by myself. I have had lots of visitors and calls so it has been hard to get on here.

Thanks again for all the goodies and prayers. They worked! I am sure I will be able to get through the rest of this with all your support again.

Be back later.

Love you guys!

Hi Jackie

It's wonderful to hear from you and to know that you are doing so well. Please don't feel guilty about being home. Make the most of it while you can. Before long you will be back at work and wishing you had some more time to yourself. Take care. {{{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}

Just a quickie. Eating is going well, exercise is on track. A little more rest wouldn't hurt but I love to stay up watching the game show network. :)

(((Jack-K))) It is so good to hear from you. Even though we've never met face to face it brought tears to my eyes to see you say that you are doing okay. You are still in my prayers as you continue to recover.

Deb...glad you are feeling better.

Missy...all I can say is....got the visual...LOL

Nat...sorry the little one is feeling poorly. I hope it passes quickly and Britt doesn't get it.

I'm running short of time so I am gonna have to skip on most of my replies.

Love and hugs,

HiedieHo All!

Ach! Cold damp miserable. At least it's not raining. Went to NH and WD, have HFH tonight. In the meantime, when I'm done here, I think I will snuggle these old bobes under the afghan and have a snooze. It's that kind of day!

BOB: You guess you're cured?!? You don't sound too sure about it. Let's hope Deb is better soon, you two are supposed to be the team to bring the wagon to LA. Can't have y'all sick! Deb's been running so much, I think it's time for her to be taken care of. (never end a sentence in a preposition). I know some who have sworn by their pain doctors because of the lack of use of major drugs. Hope you find relief the same way. On clothes.........right now something warm!

LDBLOND: I just keep saying this too shall pass. Staying the same is better than gaining. I jus pigged out on Snyder's Sourdough pretzels, two big handfuls. Maybe I can count them as a breakfast and lunch carb!?

SUZY: Glad you are feeling a little better. I've had both purebred and mutts. The mutts were just as good. Chloe is a mix of some kind. With the curled tail and slight;y bluish tongue could be some spitz, husky or whatever. She's just a little brown teddy bear right now! I know pets are work to a certain degree, but worth the effort.

DEB: Hope you stick ti taking it easy!! You need rest girl! Don't lift that finger too high! Wonderful news about Jackk!

GATOR: I've received that type of mail too.

CHERYL: So glad you are feeling better about yourself even though you have been having a stressful time with DD. You were able to do the right thing about her, getting her to doctor ASAP. Some of the patients I worked with had depression problems that resulted in harming themselves. Saying they have thoughts of suicide is a cry for help and should never be ignored! So many people sniff at therapies but they can be very helpful to the individual as well as those near and dear. Many parents have gotten insight into their own feelings apart from their children's problems. Problems are not usually just that pebble dropped in the water, it;s the ripples caused by the drop. Good luck and prayers being sent your way.

WOOD: This week I am going to start a Mock Aran afghan. It's made in strips and very effective. My crafting keeps me sane. In my work I needed to know all types of crafts and can do many well, but for myself prefer the counted cross stitch (the more detail the better) and crochet. I usually have a couple of projects going, a master one and an idiot's one, which I do when I'm with someone and chatting or just don't feel like really concentrating.

JACKK: How wonderful to see your post!! Am glad you are doing so well, don't get too cocky and overdo things. That is so easy to do when we are feeling good. We must give credit to DEB for the flower idea, something we all thought "Why didn't I think of that?" Hope your recovery continues in high gear. Prayers.

Going to go take that snooze.

Even more about the Virus/Spam. I did some investigation and the spam-blockers that are sending these messages to me also include a message about the MyDoom virus. It says that the message that I sent (which I really did not send) contains the mydoom virus. My computer is definitely not infected with that, but someone's is that happens to have my e-mail in their address book. So, this is just a reminder again, please install a virus protection program if you have not already done so. McAfee and Norton both have good ones. Go to Norton.com or McAfee.com (I think) to download these. Then, you can set up your computer to automatically add the latest virus definitions every week, 5 days or whatever you like. A good firewall program is also a good idea, especially if you have anything but dial-up service. If you keep your computer protected, it will save you a bunch of headaches, and will also protect your friends. If you don't know how to do all this, get a computer-saavy friend to help.

Hi, ladies. Another cold one in Central Texas. They're even saying we might get a little sleet or snow tonight or tomorrow. I was supposed to get my hair colored tonight but decided to reschedule.

Jackie, I was so glad to see your post and that you're doing well. Just let them take care of you for a while. You deserve it.

Cheryl, I'm so glad you were able to get your daughter some help before it got worse.

Deb, girl, you better mind BOB or she'll kick your bootie all the way to the party! Both of ya'll better be feeling fine as wine by next week-end or I'll have to kick your booties myself.

Gator, those worms are a pain aren't they.

Sef-I'm headed home to snuggle under the covers myself. Got a pork roast in the crockpot, just have to pour the salad out of a bag and make some brown rice and I'm all set.

Nat, hope Lane is feeling better before ya'll head off to the frozen tundra of the North.

Everybody else, sorry I missed you, stay warm.

Trish

Gotta run.

I'm still having a painful week, TOM hit so that doesn't help. Not complaining really, just stating the facts. Eating has been good, found some low carb bread at Costco, not too bad. Really watching ingredients though because the "low carb" bagels were made with unbleached enriched flour, so I didn't buy those. Can you believe I spent less than $30 at Costco! I'm so pround - usually I spend soooo much more! It's easier when I am strict with myself and on such a tight budget. Chicken in the crockpot, so I'm taking a rest day, hope to be more energetic tomorrow, as my kids have a 4 day weekend and I want to enjoy spending time with them. DH and I an early Valentine's day breakfast yesterday as he's going to work this weekend. It's pretty wonderful to think that we've been together 18 years now (I was 15 when we started dating - I think I'll wait for my girls to grow up before I tell them ;) - our wedding anniversary isn't 'til June, but it's always nice to remember the first date.

HeartMom: Hang in there! The place you are in now sounds an awful lot like the place I was at a few weeks ago. I really have had to set up some barriers, but now I really don't want the sugar. My girlfriend brought my all time favorite coffee treat over this morning - maple oat nut scone from Starbucks - I smelled it and gave it to my kids to share for a breakfast treat. You will get back on track, for me it was one meal at a time, then each day, now each week. Not that I've killed the binge monster within, I just am binging on better carb foods. When I have binged it was on 2 sf/nf ice creams, made me sit on the toilet the next day. Next time pay day comes around, I'm going to try and get more easy to eat snacks, like crunchy veggies, so when I want to munch I can and not worry. Also, SF gum gives me a sweet treat, w/out to many carbs or calories.

Cheryl: Thanks for the post. We can do this thing together, making new habits, improving our lives. My family is the most important thing and I'm starting to realize that when I don't take care of me, I'm not taking care of them and I certainly don't want my kids to grow up thinking that it's ok to give up. Email me sometime if you like (ldblond@hotmail.com).

I use to work in the office of a Student Assistance Program and I've seen therapy really help kids. It's great that you are close to one another and you were able to identify that her depression wasn't a simple "high school" thing. I'm really trying to develop the same relationship with my kids, so that when they become teens they know they can trust me with anything.

Deb: Hope you get to feeling better really soon!

Jack-K: Wow, what a wonderful surprise! Glad to hear you're doing so well! Keep up the good work, I hope you're recovery continues on such a positive path!

SEF: I hope you're feeling better soon.

Gator: I hope you kill you're computer virus soon. It wouldn't have come from me as I don't have your addresss, either way I'll have my hubby double check me tonight.

Have a good evening everyone!

Gator- Wasn't me!

Pancho- it was rollerskating, not ice, lol. I was using Bambi on ice as a reference to what I looked like when I first stepped into the rink. Hope Lane only has a 24 hour bug and will be better in the morning.

My eating today has been ALMOST legal- I had a regular pudding cup. Yeah, I know but I did manage to stop myself there. Other than that, I've been legal but I've eaten way too much fat and starches. I just want to get back into my SB mode where I'm not so darn hungry and thinking about food all the time. I did my 4 mile WATP tape this morning and I'm looking forward to my workout this evening. Alright, gotta go

Jack-k I'm so glad to hear how well the surgery went. What do you need to do now? Do you have to take chemo?

Wow - I've been MIA for a long long time now... Months at least.

Sorry to say that I've been completely off the wagon. I guess I just gave up because I've been having so many thyroid and female hormonal issues that I just felt like I was fighting a losing battle.

Glad to say that I've found a new doctor and she's GREAT!! She's a GP who specializes in hypothyroidism and adrenal problems. She does the natural remedys along with traditional medicines and I seem to be feeling much better since she has changed a few things. She gave me the most complete physical that I have ever had in my entire life! She split my thyroid meds up so I'm taking 1/2 in synthetic form and 1/2 in a all natural form AND she took me off the BC pills after my pain got so bad that she had an ultrasound run and I sure enough had an ovarian cyst again!! Some of you oldies will remember that I had a hysterectomy and 1 ovary remained... so naturally, it would be giving me problems  Anyway, she took me off the BC pills because they obviously weren't preventing the cysts anyway, and she put me on all natural progesterone cream. It seems to be working... pain is almost completely gone.

To the sick ones - I've had the crud this week too!!! Sinus and ear infection. My new doc gave me a shot and the new 1000mg Augmentin. I'm feeling a little better now, but the drainage is TERRIBLE!! I guess its better than being stopped up though!

OK- here is my plan - Back on SB starting Monday. New doc said the weight should come right off once we get my system straightened out and I feel at least a little straighter already. She's supposed to call me (she calls herself, that says a lot about her) and let me know how my bloodwork looks this time. To let you know where I am is soooo embarrassing, but a I'm up a whopping 20 more than my first time starting SB - I have never ever dreamed of being this big, but it, of course, could be much worse.

Missed everyone, hope to catch up on everything soon.

JackK - OK, what happened with you. Sounds like I missed something BIG!

I'll check in later...... cya,

YellowRose

Hi,

Jack-K: Way to go girl! You sound like you have such a great attitude! Really I am so happy to hear from you again and know that you are even ahead of schedule for recovery.

Trish: How have you been feeling? You had said that you felt like you might be coming down with a sore throat. Did you get past that? I am leaving for Carrie's on Sunday and you can reach me on my cell phone if we don't get to talk before then. I'll have to look for your number. It was on a cell phone that I no longer use and couldn't load the numbers onto the new phone.

Deb: Okay, now! If you won't think about yourself and get some much needed rest, think of us SBer who need you well for the par-tay! I bet the kids will help you with the "stuff" that needs to be done around the house. I know Lauren is up to clearing off that table herself. (She can tell you later where it all is....HA!)

Serene and Tranquil: I don't think the get together will be quite the same without you two. We did have such a fine time last year.

Sef: I will bring some needle work too but I bet we will not have much time to get any of it done with all the partying that we will be doing.

I suppose I should see about something to eat and get ready for Survivor and The Apprentice.

Ellen

Just a note on Gator's virus alert. It sounds more like someone has stolen your email identity and is using it to send out a virus. There are plenty of programs being written that mine the internet and emails for addresses to use for this purpose. You can check the source if you know how to read the code, and you can usually find the emails were sent out from another address, using yours as a cover. Its not hard to do this. To help combat this, when you send out emails, do NOT just send to a bunch of people in the send area. In that area, put only one address, and then do a BCC, or blind carbon copy, to others you want to email it to. This way, no one can steal your addresses.

Hi Y'all,

Did lots of shopping today and had fun - Serene went with me.... at lunch and after work - then I stopped to buy some foundation at the estee lauder counter when I was pretty much coerced into a make over because the poor sales girl was bored.... Now I look like a lady of the evening and thankfully had no where to go after buying the make up other than home to watch Survivor....

JACKK!!!!!! Oh it is so wonderful to hear the good news that you are healing so quickly - it is a good thing to be home and enjoy it while it lasts! Because soon it will be over, you will be completely mended, and you will be back to the 9-5 routine!!!! Plus, you don't want to over do it, and end up hurting.... Hugs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!!!!

Yellow - I am sorry I will miss you all at the Soiree - I have wanted to visit Fruit's house for ages now, not to mention the fact that I think Missy is a real hoot and whirlwind of fun, and then I get the chance, and I cannot! Boo Hoo!!!! Serene was saying that she is heartbroken to be missing you guys ... and wishing she could go for just a weekend. You will all just have to share the event with photos and stories/posts....

TV - I was MIA too for a while, and just came back - so you are not alone!!!!
We can get back into the swing of our posts together!!!!

Heart - That is great that you got the 4 mile tape!!! Keep up the good work.

ldblond - That is so sweet = 18 years! I know what you mean about not telling the kids that you started dating when you were so young ;) I definitely won't be sharing things with my kid, EVER!! hahaha

Sef - we are having that same weather - it is actually very strange - it was warm one minute, very cold the next, bouncing back and forth - foggy now and temps dropping - everything feels so humid and damp... I don't mind the cold - just wish it were a bit drier... Hope you get them bones warm!!!!

Pancho - Hope the little one gets better soon - nothing worse for a mom than a sick kidlet!!!

Cheryl - Hugs to you and dd.... I agree that better safe than sorry and go with that gut instinct!!! Your a good mama and your dd will be so much better for quick thinking!! Growing up is painful, and a lot of teens just seem to need that helping hand...and lucky for your dd, she has such a caring mom to support her.....

Well, off to do some cleaning, I have a PartyLite Candle Party on Saturday morning - a favor for a friend... and because of that, plus having been so sick with that nasty, yuchy virus, my house went to "pot" and now I am cleaning, mopping, dusting like a madwoman...house smells good :)

Monet, it's either that or someones computer has been infected with a virus that uses their address book to find addresses under which to send out virus/spam messages. I'm not sure whether to wait it out or to change my e-mail address. Apparently the mydoom virus is in the attachment that goes out with these e-mails. Thanks for the heads up re. using the BCC. The only time I included all the addresses in the "to" line was when a fill-in-the blanks e-mail was making the rounds about 2-3 weeks ago between some of the SB gals. So I figured that someone might have an "infected" computer.

TV, glad to see you back and happy to see that you have found a good doctor.

Morning ladies. It's cold here, sleeting now, we're expecting snow later tonight and in the morning. Sunday's supposed to be sunshine and 65. Crazy Texas weather. Poor Seth had to ride his bike to school today because he has detention this afternoon and won't be able to ride the bus. Maybe next time he'll get that progress review turned back in on time.

Lyn-I sent you an email with phone numbers.

ID-How did you do your crockpot chicken? I just love my crockpot, especially in the wintertime.

Heart-hang onto that wagon with me!

TV-Sounds like you found a great doctor. That's awesome.

Tranquil-Glad you're feeling better. Sometimes those "makeovers" can be a little much.

GonnaB-Sounds like you found us just fine. Just hit Post Reply on the bottom left and post away. Welcome!

Everybody have a great day and stay warm!!

Good morning. Everyone just left and I'm all alone so I hit the puter. Glad I have friends who are always there to talk to anytime. I have a Dr appt this afternoon. Hopefully he will remove 1 more drain tube. Wish all of them would go, but I'm sure it will be at least another week. Just a pain to fool with. They gave me a book of exercises to do. Did them all yesterday and could do the full range of motion. Nothing to work for.

Don't feel like sitting here anymore so only have a couple replies. Hope to get back into the full thing soon.

Heart, I don't go to the oncologists until March 1, but I'm pretty sure I will need Chemo. I guess I need to start wig shopping.

TV, Welcome back. I was diagnosed with Breast cancer a couple weeks ago. I had a bilateral mastecomy and TRAM flap reconstruction last Thursday. But I am doing great and will beat this thing.

Tranquil, so glad to see you back on th board. Hope you are staying this time.

Deb, are you not feeling well? Better take care so you will be up for the big trip.

Need to run. Be back later.

Jackie

I have virus protection and constantly scan both my computer for spyware, hijacks and viruses. I have been getting, and I counted, up to 45 viruses e-mails sometimes 3 or 4 times a day. It is just unbelievable.
My ISP warned us that this was going to be a bad month and it sure has been!

Pancho
That was really great of DH to order your ab thingy! Hope your girls don't get sick for vacation!!

Yay Jack-k! Glad things are going well :)

Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes for Heather.
Well the scary thing about my DD was there is nothing to pinpoint the depression. When the shrink asked her to list what's bad in her life she had no answer. She loves her school, great friends, no secret sex life or drugs and alcohol. No problems with her parents. She finally just said the worst thing is feeling so sad and not knowing why. So yesterday after talking with another shrink they gave her a 2 week script for Wellbutrin to see if it a chemical thing.

Needless to say I am totally stressed out! Even though I've been going to bed before 11 every nite I am pooped all day. Back to the boring quicken for more entry's!

Hi Everyone

It seems like I am just a Friday poster these last couple of weeks. Didn't get around to posting much during the week. I've started using Fitday again and hope to see some results soons. I was down 2 pounds to 198 on Wednesday but was up again the next day to 201, even with good eating. Go figure. Anyway I have done good with my eating this week - have stayed op and trying to limit the starchy carbs.

I've been keeping busy. I started playing table tennis again a couple of mornings a week as well as continuing with badminton three or four days a week and linedancing once a week. Oh and I even did some pedalling on the stationery bike a couple of times this week. I'm always telling people how I find this helps to keeps my knees flexible but most of the time I forget to do it :).

Jack-K - I'm sure you will feel a lot more comfortable once those drainage tubes are out. I admire your positive attitude through all you have been through and what is to come with the chemo.

Trishaloo - You sure seem to have crazy weather down in Texas. The weather here can be very changeable too, freezing one day and spring like the next, although we haven't had any of that lately. :(.

V-Moore - I have some WATP tapes and they are by Susan Sansone. They are great although I have not used them for quite a while.

GonnaB - Welcome to SB. Just go ahead and ask any questions you have. Someone is sure to be able to help you.

Gator - I don't think that virus you have is coming from here. I'm like you and the only time I have replied to everyone is that one time with the questionaire. Usually if I want to reply by e-mail to anyone I would just reply to that person.

TVthatsMe - Welcome back! Glad to hear that you have found a good doctor and hope that you can get your medical problems sorted out.

HeartMom - Hope you enjoyed the roller skating.

LdBlond - You were very controlled to spend only $30 at Costco. I often go in there for one or two things but never get out with spending less than a hundred or so. But then it is usually stuff that lasts a while as I like to stock up on salmon and tilapia when I go there. Congrats on your eighteen years together. Hope you enjoyed your Valentine's breakfast. I think you are wise not to tell your kids how early you started dating. :) We can't tell our kids everything now can we.;).

Sef - Those sourdough pretzels are hard to resist aren't they. That's why I had to stop buying them. I found myself a new snack the other day called Heritage O's. They are made with whole wheat, kamut, barley and a few other grains and have 2.6 gms of sugar per 3/4 cup serving. I've only had one snack from them so far and that was just half a cup. They look like cheerios but are much more crunchy.

Pancho - Hope Lane is better to-day and you can get away for your vacation in the snow. Have fun.

CherylCo - Sorry to hear the problems that your daughter is having but good for you getting her the help she needs. Teenage years can be difficult enough without the added burden of depression.

Deb - Hope you are feeling better. You have to be fit for the P A R T AY next week.

Hi to SuzyB, Woodfrogs, BOB, Missy, Tranquil, Melf, Country Mom, JackieO, Julia, Yellow Rose, Monet, Fillise and any one else I have missed. Have a good SB weekend everyone.

Marie.

Quicky post- I've been in town from 9:30-3:00- ugh! I'm thru with the bill-paying, errand-running, and grocery-shopping. I got hungry in town and stopped at Subway and had the chicken, bacon ranch wrap. It was good, but it was almost 5 bucks!! And it wasn't very filling, so I doubt I try it again. I've been 100% OP today. I had bacon and eggs this AM, the Subway wrap for lunch, and a lowcarb chocolate bar for a snack(was still in town). Hubby and I are going out to eat by ourselves(woohoo), and I WILL stay legal. I've been so busy today that I've only thought about food when I was actually hungry. So obviously, I eat at times when I'm simply bored. Even hubby made a comment about my appetite increasing last night. I could have hit him, but said you're right and it actually has given me some motivation to get back on track. That and...I taught the whole class last night(exercise). Everyone said I did a good job and they were all sweaty. I have to fill-in again in the morning. I'm actually looking forward to it. The only thing I didn't like was that the music wasn't the same pace as I was. But I didn't want to slow down to accomadate it.

Jack-k--You may be one of the lucky ones that won't lose their hair during chemo. You'll still be in our prayers. And yes, I'll pray that you don't lose one hair!

A WOMAN'S (REAL) PRAYER:

Now I lay me
Down to sleep.
I pray the Lord
My shape to keep.
Please no wrinkles
Please no bags
And please lift my butt
Before it sags.
Please no age spots
Please no grey
And as for my belly,
Please take it away.
Please keep me healthy
Please keep me young,
And thank you Dear Lord
For all that you've done.

Five tips for a woman....

1. It is important that a man helps you around the house and has a job.

2. It is important that a man makes you laugh.

3. It is important to find a man you can count on and doesn't lie to you.

4. It is important that a man loves you and spoils you.

5. It is important that these four men don't know each other.

Foot Note:

some support soon, people will think we're nuts."

Gator, I was having lots of smiliar troubles with emails that I supposedly sent to people that I did not know who they were. I emailed Cox about this & finially got some answers & things are much better. I also have Norton Internet Security & it showed that I was protected & have no viruses. I need to find the email that I got back from Cox & i will post it for you. Bottom line was that there was a problem with Outlook Express which I was using. I have switched email programs & have not had a problem since!

Jack_K soooo glad to see you're back in the swing of things. Glad you enjoyed the roses.

Welll..... this is so awful of me to admit, but I have been doing LOUSY.

The best example I can give you is today:
2 bowls of Fruit Loops
about 12 mini donuts
SEVERAL pieces of candy...
just about the ONLY thing I have kept up on SB is not drinking anything with sugar in it, I've stuck with sugar free drinks.

I don't know what has gotten into me. I noticed my friend TV is back on the board the same week as I am, it's nice to know I'm not the only one having a hard time!! Girl we still need to have lunch!!
I, too, am above my SB start weight again. It's so depressing that I don't even have the will to start over. Each day I wake up and eat something I shouldn't, then chalk the day up to lost and eat everything I see. I confess, I am up to a whopping 215 pounds. I have cried myself out of tears more than once, because I feel like a total failure. I'm fat, I can't breathe well anymore, I get winded going to the mailbox, I can't play with my kids.. I hate feeling like this, and yet I STILL can't get myself on track. I just don't know what to do anymore about this, but I can't stand the way I look and feel.

OK, sorry to unload on everyone, I'm just so defeated feeling right now.

JACK-K - What a wonderful attitude you have, girlfriend!! You make me wonder how on earth I can sit here and feel sorry for myself just because I'm eating myself into oblivion. I am the only reason I'm diabetic, and yet I still can't seem to find that sense of Determination that you have. I truly admire you!!! On a side note, a local newscaster here was diagnosed with BC and made it a feature, she took us through everything she was going through, and at one point, she made a joke about the chemo, saying, "So what if I lose my breasts and my hair, I can buy better ones of both after they're gone!" She was very positive as well!! Thoughts and prayers to you for a speedy recovery, and a positive journey through this!!

TV - I saw you say you're starting Monday, how would you like to be Email pals again, we could try and keep each other motivated?? I really need some help in that department. DavesGirl2374@aol.com is my email addy. I check that every day even when I don't have the guts to read the boards.

To everyone else, I've been hiding for so long I can't possibly catch up, but KUDOS to all of you who have stuck with it!! I did it for a year, dropped 40 pounds and then I'm not sure what has happened to me. It's like once the Dr. told me I was Type II diabetic and put me on the meds (which I quit taking) I just went to he** in a handbasket. I stuck with the plan until someone gave me a reason (maybe an EXCUSE??) for the reason I have trouble losing the weight. Hmmm... made myself think there.

Well, I'm not promising anything... but I'm going to try and be more active on the boards. I tend to hide when I'm doing badly. Feel free to innundate my Email with messages if you see me missing, because I desperately NEED to be here.

Thanks everyone :)

Hi Beth, nice to meet you...I to am diabetic due to overeating. I denied it for sooo long even stopped taking my meds for a while...I only took them when i was dieting...dumb huh? The thing that turned me around was a friends friend lost a leg due to not taking his diabetes seriously. Now he is at risk of loosing is other foot. That could soooo easily be us hun. I dont want to lose my legs. I dont want to lose my kidneys. I dont want to lose my life. It sucks I know, I have been where you are for years. But now im scared...really scared. I decided no cake in the world is worth my limbs or my life. Feel free to email me anytime you want/need to. My blood sugar levels havent been over 150 in 3 weeks now....ive only been back on the diet 5 1/2 weeks. Not bad as far as im concerned. Hi Beth,
My name is Donna. I am also Type II, and unfortunately have been for yrs. Last yr lost 30# on SB. gained it all back this winter. Found out I was amemic. Went to the wrong docs who put me thru all kinds of test and meds were all wrong. Between that and the stress, the doughnuts were flyin'. Anyway, I'm back on SB 2wks tomorrow. It's been slow going but I'm not exercising as I also get winded and tire easy. I'm hoping after a few #s come off I'll feel more energetic. So stick with it. I usually chk the bd daily. I'm new and still finding my way around, but I'm here and would love to here from you.

Happy Valentines Day!

Hope everyone's day is over filled with love. :)

Just got finished with my whole routine. Changing badages, cleaning the dressings and drains. Will be glad when that is all over.

Eating is not good. I am at everyone's mercy. Someone has brought food every night and I'm sure it is not all legal. Especially the desserts! ;)

I cooked bunches of legal stuff and hopefully next week we will get into that and back on track. I am having a problem with constipation (I Know TMI) and DH is at the store trying to get my something. I guess it is from the pain pills. I am slowly coming off those. He changed it to a lighter one since I was having bad headaches from the Percoset (sp). That is my only problem so I am doing good.

Cheryl, So sorry to hear about your DH. Hope the Welbutrin helps. I know you fell helpless, but hang in there. Just be there for her. I hope someone is there for you too.

Beth, glad to see you back. Try to get on the boards more, I think that really helps. One hour at a time.

Deb did you get my email? Not sure if it is working right yet.

I didn't take notes and can't remember much else to reply. Sorry. Sending :grouphug: and :) to everyone today.

Love Jackie

Grrrrr. It's THAT day again!

I've been awfully busy this week, plu smy eating sticks--totally out of control. Jan. anf Feb. are the worst months for me every year--I just hate winter and am not a happy camper till it starts to warm up. Plus today is the day of the year that I despise about ALL others.

Jackie--I'm so glad to hear that you are doing so well! My doc kept telling me I was way ahead of schedule after the hysterectomy--maybe this WOE makes us super healers!!!!! As good as you feel, don't overdo it. Give your body time to heal. And now I'm going to ask the question everyone wants to know but is too bashful to ask. . . are they PERKY???? :o I mean some good had to come out of this--right?

Deb--sorry to hear that you've been sick, but not surprised considering the running around you do. Maybe it is time for Lauren to get her DL so you can get a break!!!!!

Gator--One of the bad things about the MyDoom virus is that it sends mimic emails--telling you your computer is sending out infected emails when it is not. I've been getting them too even though my compter is clean. I run Mcafee and it has caught several infected emails for me. Most of it is coming from spammers. When I upped my spam protection the rate of mimics was reduced dramatically!

Monet--How are you doing? Is your weather as icky there as it is here?????

BOB--Glad to hear that your Doc knocked the snot out of you! Miss Belle wants to know if you will be her :) ? Even though I don't beleive in the holiday--she apparently does and has been unusually snuggly today.

Heart, SEF, Wood, JackieO--and everyone else--I hope you are having a good weekend!

TV and Beth--welcome back!

Gonna--just askw hatever you want to know. This is ahealpful board and we will e happy to answer any questions to help you with SB!

Have a great weekend everyone,
Susan

TV & Beth welcome back!
I started SB 7/2002.
I lost 35 pounds the first year. Then I started slacking off here and there. Not terrible, just breaded chicken, fried cheese sticks, popcorn that sort of stuff.
Then at Thanksgiving I started on the cookies, pies, stuffing. I went through to Xmas.. By New Years I was 115. I went from 203 to 115 in a month. I dug in and now I'm down to 208. I'm doing the Walk Away the Pounds every day. We can do it. Just stay legal one day no matter what. Do it again the next day. It will all come back to to you. You did it before, can do it again!

OP= On Plan as in ate totally legal
DD= Dear daughter

Hi,

Several inches of snow in Dallas this morning and it knocked out the power. I hated to even get out of my nice warm bed knowing that it was going to be cold in the house. We always turn down the heat at night, so, it was 62 degrees inside. Also, I have waited until the last minute to start packing to leave for DD's tomorrow and I needed the power to wash, etc....you all know the drill. The power is now on but it did get down to 58 in the house before that happened. I am happily washing as I type and am now going back to packing.

GatorGal: Since I will be in transit tomorrow, I want to take this opportunity to wish you a very, very HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!!

Jack-K: I bet you were exhausted after getting all cleaned up. I certainly feel your pain about the "Little Problem" you talked about. I don't understand why the doctors don't tell us more about the whole process with the pain pills. That was my major problem after my surgery last year. I started taking Correctol which helped. I was really thinking about going to the emergency room so you are smart to take care of things now.

Okay, off to pack for my big adventure.

HAPPY VALENTINE'S DAY TO ALL OF YOU!

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Hello All:

A quick reply to keep myself in the groove....

JackK - I am so glad you are doing your exercises and sound great in your emails!!! Percocet, I agree- causing headache and tummy problem - hopefully you are drinking enough water???? You are one tough cookie - being able to do all and feel as good as you do! That is SO TERRIFIC!!!!

Rosalie - Hello!!!!!
Yellow and Trish - stay warm!!!!!

Fillise - you are so funny, I loved what you asked JackK - and I want to know the answer too! hahahaha

Hello to all the new posters!

Beth - Wishing you the strength to say no to those unhealthy things!!! They are so not worth the guilt, weight gain, and bad health and self image that comes with it....

Melf - Hello!!!!!!!

Rosalie - Hello!!!!!! Thank you for the Friday Funnies...

Cheryl - Glad that things are moving quickly to help your daughter!!! So scary, and such a worry for a mom....

Well, had a Partylite Candle Party today and my house is squeaky clean and now that ds is in the process of getting squeaky clean himself - we are going to head out to the mall, ich - it is wet and rainy, the mall is going to be horrendously packed - and get some much needed clothes for him...try and just not let any of the crowds and people get on my nerves, hehehe, not hard to do lately - wish the sun would just shine - would help me a lot :) But, I am going to see if Serene will go to mall too - maybe bring her dd and then I would have that calm person with me to keep me sane....

Bye y'all - Happy Valentines Day - Sabrina

[COLOR=Purple]HiedeeHo All!

Did it again! Lost a long post, this time my own stupidity did it!

Yesterday was housecleaning day, although I did not get it all done. Did change bed, washing, dusting and made a crockpot of spaghetti sauce with sausage and meatballs. Today I've done very little. It's another miserable day and I feel it! Aside from sitting here for an hour reading and typing a post, watching ice skating and doing the newspaper puzzles I've done nothing! Oh! did I mention taking an hour's nap?

GATOR: Thanx for the virus info.

TRISH: Altho I've done pork and sauerkraut in the crockpot, I've never done a plain roast. Do you just season it and out it in? Do you add water or let it make it's own moisture? We've had frost but no sleet!

LDBLOND: Can feel your pain! Hope it's better soon as we both know there are tolerable levels. Only $30? I never get out of Sam's for less than100!

TV: Good to see you posting! Sometimes we have to "shop" around for a doctor that is on our wavelength. Now that you seem to have found yours time to get back on the wagon. One of the things that helps me the most is coming here. So keep posting.

YELLOW: I know all about partying, but I might have to have some down time. As a good Girl Scout, I'm always prepared! Getting nearer and nearer isn't it?

TRANQUIL: I'm always saying, weatherwise "I live in Louisiana, what can you expect?" One the AC is on the next the furnace!

GONNAB: Welcome. Ask away! Even the questions we've seen over and over sometimes have new answers because someone has found another way to cope or new products come out. So questions are good!

JACKK: The doctor must consider you a poster girl for this operation! You will undoubtedly feel more comfortable when the drains are all out. Your positive attitude will do wonders! Look have you have inspired us! Thank you.

CHERYL: Good thoughts and prayers still going your way. Hope the Wellbutrin works. Years ago it helped me.

ROSALIE: Friday or any day we look forward to your posts! I will have to see if I can find those Heritage Os, although they sound dangerous too. I love crunchy!

HEART: You deserve to feel good about the exercise class. Maybe you'll make your own tape!

BETH: We have all stumbled at one time or another, we beat ourselves up and then move on. Hopefully it's time for you to do the same. You know how you felt at a lighter weight and how you feel now. You have to do it for yourself and your kids. Why did you stop taking the meds? Could be another reason why you're not feeling as you should. To me the thing that helps best is coming here. You gripe in your posts and then read how others are coping and somehow it's a little easier to cope yourself . I can't look at the big picture of losing 100# but I can look at the short term and think positive for a day. Don't give up. I did and it's a case of starting over to lose 40# I had already lost once! So I speak from experience.

V: Thanks for sharing. It makes us all think!

DONNA: Don't think I ever welcomed you to this wonderful board. Looks like you are another example of getting the right doctor, about losing and then straying. There are a lots of strays here. When we we stop being our own worst enemy? Seems like you're on the right track now.

FILLISE: I'm surprised at you! Asking such a personal question! Whoever thought someone would ask about boobs on this board? I never.................well maybe once or twice. Psst! Come closer so I don't have to shout.......I wonder if they are? By the way, we all love you!

BOB: You don't know how disappointed I am to not be able to meet you. I love your sense of humor and teasing attitude. You will be missed. I feel bad for Deb as it sort of leaves her in the lurch. Are you sure you can't see your way clear to come? I think you were looking forward to doing a little partying! Thanx for the jokes.

Take care all,

Shirley

JACKIEO: I'm not sure about your e-mail address, if you send me your telephone number I will call you and maybe we can work out something for the trip Friday. Maybe I can pick you up. Have no idea where you are in relationship to route I would be taking. I think it's easier to talk on the phone then try to go back and forth with posts or mail.

Hi,

Sef: I know all about being prepared....I have spent several days preparing my "stuff to do, in case" and 1 day packing. Trish will be happy to hear that I did take out several items and I am sure my daughter will help with more. I am so looking forward to seeing you. I am bringing knitting. Was it crochet that you like to do?

Tranquil: It was getting rather chilly until the power decided to come back on and stay on. I have been toasty all day and staying warm running back and forth washing and packing.

I'd better see what my Valentine is doing.

Hey buds!

I just got back from a parade. It was COLD! I'm so glad to be home in my warm p.j.s!

JACK-K: GIRL!!!!!! I'm so happy to see you on the board! I can't believe that you are feeling so good! I thought you would have been in more pain. I know what you mean about those drains...they are a pain. When I had my boobs reduced I had to have one in my left boob because of the blood clot. I'm sorry that I didn't get to send you an e-card but I was on the board too late and you wouldn't have received it! I'm glad you liked the flowers - I thought the picture of them was beautiful! I tell you what...my friend that I told you about had some beautiful wigs. They looked like her real hair! It was so neat. The only thing she complained about was that they were hot. But, maybe in Kentucky it won't be so bad! Yeah...I know....I forgot again to send you her e-mail address! I suck!

Well, I just wanted to say hello! Hello to you all! I hope to be on the board more this week!

YELLOW: I enjoy my Xstitching. except these days I need a strong light to be able to do it. So tonight I started an afghan to bring with me.

Have to get suitcase out of attic, also make pan of lasagna and freeze it. Missy says we can have it Saturday night.

Then will think about packing.

FRUIT: It was a chilly night for a parade. The kids went out to dinner and got held up by a parade. They got some neat beads.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:

I'm going to be apologizing again and again for not being able to get on the board as usual, but it's just something I can't avoid happening at this time, there's just so much going on at this time I can't keep up with life in general.

I am still sick and it seems I've taken a step backwards when I thought I was getting better. I haven't slept well in 2 nights. Friday/Sat because of MICHAEL and having to get him ready for his trip and take them to the airport in the morning and last night I just couldn't sleep and trust me, I was exhausted! I was dopey in the morning that no amount of coffee could wake me up. I wanted to go to sleep so bad but had to take LAUREN to the library and then get her at the gym and knew if I fell asleep that I probably wouldn't wake up. I did get in a nap for about 2 hours around 5:30pm but it didn't help much and I figured I'd sleep like a dead woman last night:nono: I don't know what the problem was, but I'm so tired right now I can't even see straight!

I still have papers to fill out for MICHAEL that must be posted by tomorrow, but luckily there's no PO tomorrow so I have an extra day - BUT, I've set them aside and now don't even know where they are and what I have to do. I also have to find new car insurance, mine is having to be paid tomorrow and it just keeps going up and up - $760 for 6 months coverage - outrageous! I still have parents to find for the IB testing, need 7 more I think, but that's not til next week as I've got this week covered, so just have to make follow-up calls to remind them to be there. House is getting worse by the day, I don't even want to look at the piles of crap all over the place - I'm so disgusted!

I don't even want to mention about the get together - I'm very depressed and my eating has shown this. I've gained so much weight you all have no idea and yes, I've packed on pounds the last few days. I haven't eaten 1 nutritious item, the MnM's, an entire funsize bag, 6 kitkat bars, 2 ice creams from Mc Donalds IN THE SAME DAY and a follow up the next, I can go on. This has so thrown me for a loop at the last second and with all the other crap going on, just not something I needed at this time.

My brain is in a fog and I just don't know which way to turn at this time. Even my Ebay is taking a back seat and this is money I really need to make. I have nothing listed at the moment and need to try and work on that as well.

So, my life is for S:censored:T right now and I really have nothing worthwhile to say, it's all just way too much for me to handle right now and I just hope you all understand. Nothing would be better for me than to get on the board daily as I have always done, but right now, at least through this week and next, I can only see myself finding time to pop in at whatever opportunity I have to say hello.

Okay, I'm sure coming on the board you sure didn't want to see my moaning and *****ing, but that's what's going on, and again, it's not that I don't want to be on here, just right now, it seems I need a break. The hours I spend on the board as I usually have for the past 4 years (almost) I need those hours to attend to other things at this time - I know there's a light at the end of the tunnel, but it seems right now it's a pin hole that I just can't make out at this time

Good Sunday Morning

Deb - Sorry to hear that you are still feeling unwell. You need to take care and coddle yourself. It sounds like you hardly ever get enough sleep and now you are sick and feeling depressed. I hope you can find the strength to get back on the wagon. I do believe that eating off plan could be aggravating your depression. I know that eating too many of the wrong carbs can really affect my mood and I feel much better when I am eating well. Also I hate to hear of you gaining the weight back when I know you worked so hard to lose it. I understand what you are going through, as I am sure others do, so don't feel guilty about not getting on here to post as usual. Take time to get yourself well again. :grouphug:

Gator - :balloons:HAPPY BIRTHDAY.:gift:

Have a good day everyone.

Goodmorning everyone. I woke up sooo sore today. The pilates is really working. Its so easy and relaxing when your doing it but the next day you know its working. Im getting ready to do it again. It finally stoped raining but its soo windy out there i wont attemp to go walking. Eating has been really good. I need to probably cut out a starch or two. I really love those tortillas.

Deb- you need to realise that you are not super woman. You are working fast at a burnout. You need to tell your family that you know everyone is busy but you need more help. No reason the kids cant spend 20 minutes to straighten up around the house. Anything that would make your day easier. You bust your *** for them and they can work 20 minutes more for you. You will be of no help to anyone if you burnout. Your health is at risk here. I think everyone agrees that we will be fine here on the board, we just want you to find a way to help yourself. ;)

Ok im off to bend my body in unnatural ways. Hopefully my WATP tapes will be here real soon so i can add the cardio back in. The weather here has really sucked.

Bye for now!!!!! And Deb, TAKE CARE OF YOURSELF!!!

Hi All!

Sunny today - brightening up the spirit!!!! Getting myself together and going over to my parents to drop off the leftover Poached Pear Tart I bought for yesterday's Partylite party...I don't want it!!!! My Dad will love it....

DEB - Something has to give, just relax, deep breath, take care of kid stuff, and then maybe when you get a little moment, Just take a hot shower/bath and think things over .... maybe in a calm moment, answers to the right thing will come.... {{{{{HUGS}}}}} I will call you this afternoon after errands, or during and see if you are okay !!!!

I have to go put my face on and fix this mop on my head so I don't scare little children at the mall....

Bye for now, Stay Sugar Free, Sabrina

Happy Sunday everybody. We were privledged to have our Bishop offer Mass today, it was a beautiful mass. Looking forward to a new week, going to try to get rolling on "5 a day" fruits and veggies that is, I'm not getting that in my diet and think that it might help to reduce some of the calories I'm taking in.

TV: Welcome back! When you look around I think you will notice a few of us from the past have come back recently ;)

Trishloo: My family hated my chicken - I put BBQ sauce in the shreded chicken meat and no one would touch it. Ah well...I'll try something different next time.

Beth: We're here for you. You're diet sounds just like mine was before I started back on SB. I can't say a whole lot for my BINGE issues, except their on good carbs instead of bad ones. You'll start feeling better in not time, for me it's 3 days and then a week and well now looking back I think I've been on track now for 3 weeks or so and it's easier to just ignore the sweets. I did find a treat for me that truly helps me - CarbSmart ice cream fudge bars - 3carbs per bar. YUM!

Jackie: As you start feeling better, you'll be able to make more foods for yourself, right now just eat for getting better.

SEF: I hope you are feeling better soon!

Deb: You CAN do anything BUT your family needs to help you out, because there's too much on your plate! Ask the kids to chip in 15 minutes of their time to help you pick up or start a load of laundry. Doing a load of dishes won't hurt them either. The pressure will lift, just try to remember that the sugary foods taste wonderful going down, but they mess with your emotions. Seriously checkout your grocery store for some of these Carblite or Carb Smart treats, they satisfy the sweet tooth and don't seem to pack the emotional punch! Taking a breather from posting everyday will surely give you some much needed time to do other things, I'll miss you and look forward to you popping in to say hi.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!

Just got back from a BABY SHOWER for my Niece. I swear, they won't have to buy a thing for this little booger! I've never seen so much stuff in one place! We've only got one more month to go. The Baby is due on ST PATRICK'S DAY. She's getting bigger by the day, and I think we'll have a BOY...we would all like a GIRL since we already have Jay, but since Jeff and Tracy didn't want to know in advance, we'll just have to wait and see.

JACKIE...Hope you continue to feel better. When Cathy's MIL had her Chemo, she went to a wig store uptown in L'vill...I'll get the name of the store for you and pass it along. She went ahead and had her hair cut really short, so before it started to fall out, everyone was used to the short hair.
Like Missy, I got on the board too late to send you an [i]ECARD but know that my good wishes have been with you the whole time.

SEF...Sorry I won't be able to meet you this time either, but there will always be another get together.

MISSY...I'm sure you had a little antifreeze to help you along last night... :s:

I'm still not up to par, the pollen over here is terrible and my head is just really fuzzy feeling.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY GATOR!!! :hb: :gift: :jeno: :balloons: :hun: I'm sure you've had a big day!!!

Just wanted to drop in quickly and post before I finish fixing dinner.
JackK - soooo glad to hear how ell you're doing.
Deb - slow down girl! They're going to give you a speeding ticket right before you keel over from exhaustion!
I hope that veryone else got in some good eating and exercise this weekend. My exercise was great! But the eating was so-so. I'm hoping they sort of cancel each other out. At least my portions weren't bad.
I'll be able to get a nice long post tomorrow.
Take care everyone!

Hi all- I haven't been here in a LOOOONG time because I've been doing Atkins! I have been more successful with Atkins than SB... actually, I didn't really lose that much with SB. Maybe I should revisit it.

Anyway- I have 3 friends who are doing South Beach and so I went out and got the book. Am I missing something, or is it SugarBusters with a different cover?

For the life of me, I can't tell the difference. Can anyone help me see the difference?

Thanks,
Kelly

Hey, guys! I just wanted to say that I made it thru the entire weekend 100% OP!! We've even eaten out a couple times. I did eat too much stuff this evening, oh,well. Friday we went to my fave Mexican restaurant and I had the chicken fajitas with ALL the toppings and fixings. Just didn't eat the tortillas and I stayed away from the chips. Last night I had left over chili and sour cream followed by a Carb Smart ice cream bar for dessert. Today I skipped breakfast(usually don't, but I slept late) and only had 7 triscuits and green onion dip for lunch. So by supper time, I was starving and kinda overdid it, but it could have been worse. I had the new Chicken and Spinach salad from Wendy's with my own dressing(Kraft's Casear Bacon) and a small chili with sour cream. I had a Carb Smart bar for dessert and about an hour later, I had 7 pepperoni slices dipped in dressing and 7 more trisuits and dip. But it was all legal and I feel like I'm back on track now that I've got a few OP days under my belt. It's been so tough getting back on track this time. I was at Big Lots earlier and they had Hershey's King size bars for 49 cents. I started to grab a few and then asked myself what the heck am I doing and put them back. I bought the cheap step(25 dollars) from Walmart and a pair of 8 # weights. So now I can mix the step in with my walking aerobics while at home. Hubby and I have been fighting alot lately, but he did compliment me this morning and said I was looking good and that he was proud of me for losing the weight and being regular with my exercise. Kinda hard to be mad at him now, lol. Anyone see the advertisement for the 6 second abs? My stomach is really yucky. It's mushy and flabby, plus stretch marks..eww. I do situps and crunches, etc...but it's not helping at all. Anyway, the infomercial kinda sucked me in,lol. But I don't have the money for it right now. It's 60 bucks plus s&h. We got our taxes back the other day. We got a good bit back, but it's just about gone now. The only splurge we did was go out to eat, hubby and I got a pair of NB tennis shoes, and he gave me some money for Valentines($50 for perfume and $50 to spend). The big thing is that my car needs new struts and a new axle, so we're looking at $600 for that, the driveway needs another load of gravel($220), and drumroll...$2,000 to get my driver's license back! Yes, my DL are suspended. In Mississippi, if you get into a wreck and don't pay the damages you caused, then they take away your license. It was raining one day and I was going around a big curve and slid into this ladies car. The only thing I messed up was her door and her insurance company sued me for $4,000! Her car wasn't even worth that. Told them I couldn't pay, so they took my license. I called the lawyer last week and they said they would take half the price and reinstate my license. So I expressed $2,000 to them, and I should be legal again by Tuesday! I'm also happy that I get new DL because I'm a bit embarrassed my photo(I was 270 pounds at the time).

Fillese- Instead of letting Vday ruin it for you, look at it differently. Feb.14th is also CHD(congenital heart defect) Awareness Day in numerous states. It's a day to remember those affected with this condition. Some of the most beautiful children I know are CHDer's.

Deb- It sounds like your stress eating. Using the food as your outlet. In all this turmoil, remember that you are very important and you need to take time for yourself, even if it's only 10 minutes. It's hard to get back on track, but it's so worth it. Remember that (for instance) 30 pounds is easier to take off than 50. You're only human and we mess up at times. The key is to not give up.

Beth- see my post to Deb..and Welcome Back! I know how hard it is to get back into SB mode after being off plan for so long. I've been having a really hard time lately staying OP. I was having more days off plan than on. I only gained 3 pounds, but that's only because I exercise about 6 days a week. I had some days where I could eat an entire BAG of cookies or chocolates at ONE sitting and then eat McDonald's and anything else I could get my hands on. It makes you feel like you have no self-control,etc..but you CAN get back on track and the first couple of days are the hardest. I think I only did okay getting back on track this week, because I was so busy this weekend that I didn't have time to sit around and think about food all the time. That's been my biggest problem lately is having such easy access to the kitchen(staying at home). You can do it because you did it before.

HiedeeHo All!

Got so busy today doing nothing that I never got online until now. I did go to church, I'm a good girl I am!

DEB: You got to take a deep breath girl! Doesn't your family know you're being run into the ground? Please, please get some rest! I don't know how or where it will fit into your schedule, but do it. And get some meds for that cold! If you don't do something about it you'll be no good to anyone! It was great talking to you the other night. You just sounded so down and I wish I could do something for you to cheer you up and help you get a grip on your woe. Ain't that a sight the blind trying to lead the sightless!!

V: Hope the soreness goes away soon, as you continue woth the workouts it will go. I second the motion on advice to DEB!

BOB: Sorry the pollen is geting to you. We've had so muc rain the pollen has been washed away pretty much. Of course, ti creates mold! Can't win!

HEART: Isn't it a good feeling to know you didn't succumb to the Hershey bars!??!!!!!!!!

FRUIT: I keep asking if Southern Comfort is legal, at least for special ocassions? lol

I'm trying to fight the urge that I need a nosh, so here I sit with my good friends
