Hi gals!

Well, I'm on day 5 - haven't weighed myself, but, today, I'm feeling great! :D The cravings are somewhat better - thanks to the gallons of water I'm drinking! - and to all of your support and encouragement... and, the presence of string cheese in my refrig! I have to be careful with that, though, as it's becoming a habit - it is possible to eat too much of that stuff, right?!? :?:
Are there any of you out there with autoimmune illnesses? I've got rheumatoid arthritis and am on a LOT of meds - including prednisone. I think that's where some of my cravings come from - my goal is to decrease that dose so that I don't feel controlled by it. I have noticed that my joints feel better when I'm not eating sugar and wheat. (noticed that when I was on Atkins)

so, IS it possible to eat too much string cheese? :T

Loving life on the beach -

Hey BethAnn, WELCOME

Hope you're hanin' in there and having a good time chatting with the ladies here.

I feel your pain on the meds issue. I'm in treatment for breast cancer, and some of the drugs really monkey with your mind and body. Just what we need, right?

And on the string cheese, hmmm, yeah, it IS possible to eat too much. Maybe try eating some good veggies along with it? My thing is hummus- I could eat the whole package, but now I fix up a big plate of veggies and just dab them in. Same thing with the Laughing cow, I spread it thin on veggies and it is great and filling. But if I ate cheese alone, I'd be wolfing down several pieces or sticks at a time!

Ruth also had a great tip for me- if you've had a "serving" of one kind of food and still feel hungry, have a "serving" of something else instead of more of the same. Harder to overdo it that way, plus you get a variety of nutrients.

See you around. Good Luck!!

Bethann, I'm so glad you're doing well! :hat: It would be wonderful if you were able to decrease some of your meds because of cutting back on the sugar.
