GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today-both very good:)

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

COMMITMENT IS

Commitment means acting not just when it is convenient or comfortable, but whenever it is necessary. Commitment means setting priorities and following them without fail.

Commitment is more than words, much more than just saying you will. Commitment is doing whatever it takes to make it happen.

Commitment is available to anyone who understands and appreciates its value enough to live with it in each and every moment. Commitment requires no special skill, only sufficient desire, and faith in the virtue of the endeavor.

Commitment goes ahead and gets the job done, even though opinion and circumstances may fight vigorously against it. Commitment sees things through to completion.

Commitment bears the pains of the moment without becoming dismayed. Commitment enjoys the pleasures of the journey without becoming sidetracked.

Commitment can be summoned in an instant, and can last for a lifetime. With true commitment, what you intend is surely what you will be.

-- Ralph Marston

*******************

THE CHOICES YOU MAKE

Many of the things that bring you down are of your own choosing. You choose them because you assume there's nothing better available to you, but there always is something better.

Many of the things that bring you down are just old habits that you've never managed to break. You assume they are a permanent part of you, but they are not.

Sure it takes some effort to find and make better choices. Yet those choices are indeed there, and once you begin to find a few, a whole lot more will suddenly pop into view.

Yes, it takes time and commitment to overcome a destructive habit. Once you do it, though, you'll feel like you can take on just about any challenge, and you'll be right.

Think about who you really are, and what you truly want to do with your life. Let your best vision of who you are, and of who you can be, guide the choices that you make every moment.

Life can be easy, haphazard and empty, or it can be focused, directed and full. The choices you make will make you who you choose to be.

Good Monday Morning All:wave:

Gosh, did I miss you all last week! I felt so out of the loop not being able to get on here and post. I hated it but it couldn't be avoided. Everything else had to take a back seat.

LAUREN'S party was perfect, I couldn't ask for any better really. I hope you all got the pictures I sent - wasn't going to try and attempt to post them on the board and what I sent was just part of what pictures I took. If I didn't send them to you, sorry, not intentional to leave you out of the loop, just the way KODAK sets up the e-mails, well, I don't recognize who's e-mail is who's and just did the ones I know are people on the board. If you didn't get pics and want me to send, just let me know.

Anyhow, we had 62 out of the 70 invited show up, which I think was pretty good. Everything was inclusive, the place, the table decorations, the food, the DJ, the cake, EVERYTHING - place is very pretty, which you'd never know from the outside. Little strip mall, place is stuck in the corner, off the beaten path.

THEN all weekend I was running kids from here to there. About a week ago when I spoke to BOB I told her I was close to having 99K miles on my car. She mentioned that we'd have a party when it turned 100K on our trip to FRUITS house. I laughed,:rolf: I told her I'd have 100K before than - this morning I'm at 99,350 - by the end of next week I should be around 100K. I was dropping kids here and there and trying to kill time in between because by the time I would of come home I'd have to turn around and go back to wherever. Just yesterday MICHAEL had his Cornell interview. Dropped him off, dropped LAUREN off at the gym, went to kill an hour, he called, the guy didn't show, picked him up, picker her up. Found out the guy couldn't make it at the time (MICHAEL never got a confirmation) and had to take hi BACK at 7pm, go home, go back at 8:45pm and pick him up - mind you, this place was NOT around the corner!

BUT today, I think things will be back to normal, or so I hope. I'm tired, only slept about 2 hours last night - got the board up and done a bit after midnight. Do have to take MICHAEL today after school to another interview with a gentleman that I think must be a Dr. because the interview is at S. Miami Hospital in the Cardiac offices - I think it's for Princeton.

I wasn't able to read the boards over the weekend, so please forgive me for not knowing what's going on, who's coming, who's going, etc. etc. Hope if there's anything pertinent that you'll fill me in on what I've missed.

BOB, hope you're feeling better today.

JACKK, you were running this weekend, tried a few times, wanted to see how you were feeling.

ROSE, how's my favorite Texan doing?

COUNTRY, always fun talking to you!!!!

I'm thinking about climbing back in bed for a while - I don't think I'm in the mood to do much of anything today. I'll check back in later - promise!

Good morning everyone, hope that it was a good weekend for everyone. We had teenagers over at our house for a sleepover. Food went pretty well, didn't eat too much that wasn't OP. Went to the gym Friday, and walked on the treadmill Sat and Sunday. The scale was a bit better today. Watching the portions seems to working better for me. I feel more positive today than I did over the weekend. Also did some scrapbooking since it was too cold to really do anything outside(getting up to single digit temps doesn't always make me feel like I should be doing stuff).
I didn't get a chance to check the boards over the weekend. So I hope that everyone had a good one.
Deb - Great pics, looks like it was a great party! What a neat thing you did for your daughter!
Take care everyone and have a good OP day.

Good Monday morning everyone. Have not had a chance to read the posts from the weekend, but hope everyone had a good one. I exercised both days this weekend and feel good about that. I am really having some body image struggles that are worrying me a bit. Have any of you had trouble with your head catching up to the rest of your body? When I look in the mirror I still see a person that wears a size 20. When do you see yourself as others see you? For some reason this is really messing with my head right now. I feel like no matter what I do, it's not enough, because it's hard for me to see and feel the progress. Also, I found that people(especially friends) were much nicer to me when I was heavier. what is that about? I am getting me feelings hurt all the time and take every comment personally. I actually had a friend tell me that my face has become "too thin" and "isn't even pretty anymore". Please share your experience if it has been similar.....anyway....

Deb- Those pics were great. It seems everyone had a great time. The decoratiions and set up were fabulous. Hope Michael does well on his interviews.

Woodfrogs- Glad you had a nice time and were able to stay on plan at the sleepover.

Everyone else, have a good morning. will check in later--Ash

Hi Everyone - Hope everyone had a great weekend. Mine was busy, but good nonetheless. I had my 3 year old nephew for the weekend and boy, how quickly I forgot how exhausting it is watching a toddler. Despite the hard work, we had a great time and it was good for all of us to have a little one in the house again. Today I'm at work and it is a bit chilly here. About 7 degrees. They are predicting some kind of storm for later this week - but I keep getting conflicting reports, so who knows. I think it might be the same one that hit the Carolinas over the weekend that is coming our way. Frankly, the only thing people up here seem to be concerned with is the Superbowl. MY DH is so excited he is driving me crazy. I'll probably watch a bit of the game (mostly for the commercials  ), but I'm definetly watching Sex and the City. I know there are some HBO junkies on board so I'm sure you will understand my choice of S&C over the superbowl! Especially with Big coming in the next episode!

Eating has been really good with the small exception of some illegal oatmeal cookies on Saturday and one tator tot last night at dinner. Other than that - I have been OP. My water intake really declines on the weekend, so I need to work on that. At work, I sit upstairs and it gets very hot and dry, so I am constantly at the water cooler. However, at home I just seem to forget about it. Not very good, I know. I know that these last few pounds will probably take forever, but that is okay. My clothes are so much looser and I have had several comments on my loss, and since I plan to keep this WOE for a long, long time, it is okay if it takes forever to lose. As long as I don't gain - that is all I care about.

DEB - Glad to hear that the party went well. Sounds like Michael's schedule is full of interviews and hopefully he will have several choices to make when the decision time comes. Glad that things are back to "normal" with you - I know how a few hectic weeks can throw you. Get some rest while you can - you don't want to run yourself down!

MISSY - I hope that you are feeling better. How is your incision?

WOOD - I too scrapbook, but unfortunately, haven't done it in several months. I love to do it, but it seems like a long process from the time you pick out the pictures till the time the page is complete! I am currently working on three books - one of each of my boys and then a family one. I really need to get back into it . . . perhaps reading your posts will inspire me to get my stuff out ;)

BOB - Open Range was good, I believe you said? I'm hoping to grab a movie for Saturday night and was thinking of getting that one. Let me know if there is another one that you recommend. Hope that you are feeling better as well.

CHERYL - I was reading about your illness and I believe that my oldest son, Ryan, has a friend who has the same thing. Ian was diagnosed in October. I'm not positive that it is the same thing, but after reading your symptoms it sounds very, very close. His immune system was working overtime and his eyes got really puffy and swollen and he was very weak. He was in the hospital for about 3 or 4 days and I remember his mother commenting to me that it wasn't so much the illness that bothered her, as much as the medication that he needed to take for it. You know, when I see her again, I'm going to ask her the exact name of it and let you know, but I'm 99% sure that it is the same thing. What age were you diagnosed with it? Poor Ian is only 10 . . .

Okay - I guess that is it. Does anyone here participate in the Relay for Life? I am entering my 3rd year and was just wondering if anyone else has done it. It is a great fundraiser for the American Cancer Society.

JACKIEO - No matter what I weigh, I have always seen myself as "fat". I drive my DH crazy when I negatively comment on my shape b/c he sees a totally different person than I do. Even when I go shopping, I always grab the large/med sizes and never think that a smaller size might be a better choice. I don't think it is something that ever goes away, so please don't feel that you are alone . . .

Hi, ladies. Well, as usual I'm behind again on the postings. Can't just seem to stay caught up. Eating was bad (read that really bad) this week-end. It started with the Girl Scout cookies on Friday and went downhill from there. Had a chili dog and onion rings at lunch on Saturday, fries at dinner. Yesterday we had Seth baptized at church and there was a pot luck lunch afterwards. Of course we all know what that means. Church Lady food! Dinner was better, made some pork chops and brown rice. So....it's back on track for this girl. Got my water at my desk and I'm ready to go. I had a neighbor girl, my niece and my boss' daughter all selling cookies. Now I find out that if you go to the order form, there's a box you can check and you can buy cookies and have them sent to the troops. Well, fooey, now they tell me, 6 boxes later.

Talk to you guys later.

Happy Monday!
Hope everyone had a good weekend. I have to admit that I was a real grump! Do you ever feel like you're in such a bad mood, you almost don't want to be around yourself??? I'm feeling better today, I think. But still not "on top of the world". I can't really pinpoint anything that's making my pissy and I hope it goes away soon. I guess it could be the start of PMS, but that's over a week off, so who knows!
We had my Grandad's birthday yesterday. He gets more nostalgic every year. He said the blessing and said how thankful he was to have his family and that he hated to imagine how lonely he'd be without us. He even thanked God for his dog! I admit his dog is a blessing to him. He's had her about 9 months. He rescued her from the shelter, but in truth, she's rescued him. She really keeps him going. The funny thing was that, with the exception of the general thanksf or the family, he never said a word about my grandmother. Sometimes, I look at them, and it scares me a bit. I know deep down, they love each other, but most of the time, they are like Archy Bunker and Edith. They get on each others nerves so bad. I hope I don't get that way. I try hard now not to build up resentment and to speak up when I feel neglected or taken advantage of in my marriage. Sorry to get off on that depressing tangent....the party was great. And I made WW crust pizza that was devoured over Godfather's regualr pizza. Everyone raved over it! I've started making the dough in my bread machine and it's so easy I could start a pizza parlor! I did have a bite of DH's cake.
Once again I was down to 185 this morning. I think it's so odd that I am always down on Monday mornings of all days. I guess I sleep late on weekends and probably end up eating less...that's all I can figure. For instance, yesterday her ewas my menu:
B: two scrambled eggs, two patties of venison sausage, WW toast with Smucker's simply fruit (at about 10)
L/Snack: Lite and Fit yogurt (at about 1)
D: spinach salad, two slices legal pizza, a bite of cake (at 4)
Snack: sweet potato chips and two dill pickles at about 7(I was craving salty while we watched tv last night)
I know that if I ate like that on a regular basis, my body would end up in starvation mode, but I'm sure it explains why I'd be down for one day. I'm gonna try to snack a little less during the work week and exercise EVERY day and see if I can see a change by Thursday.
My mom subscribed to Fitness magazine for me for Christmas and I got the first one last week. It's a really good magazine wiht a great combination of information about beauty and fashion along with helthy eating and exercise tips. My favorite part is the "Testimonials" from ladies who have lost weight. There are two things I find in common with all of these people: they eat a healthy, whole grain diet with lots of fruits, veggies and lean meats (Ok, I do that) AND they exercise at least 5 days a week with a combination of strength training and cardio. My goal is to do something Monday through Friday. I'd like to accomplish this goal by my birthday, April 9. I know I've said this over and over, but I know it's the key to my success! Right now I do Jazzercise M, T, and F. And that is already a combination of strength and cardio. So that leaves W and TH...that's it! Surely I can work that in!!!
I hope everyone has a great day!

Good Monday morning everyone. Nice to start a new week. We're supposed to have snow this afternoon so I'll be house bound. But theres lots of cleaning to do. I've been eating right but I don't think enough. Will start writing down what I eat today. Maybe it will make me more aware.

Debilli- Loved the pictures of Lauren's party. My goodness what allot of work had to have gone into it. Lauren looked wonderful. And the cake looked divine. No wonder you didn't sleep well last night, to much running around....

woodfrogs- You remind me I need to hope on my treadmill today too.... I know what you mean about the temp. kind of messing with your mood. Its gloomy and just waiting for the snow...

jackieO- Sounds like you have a jealous friend. That stinks when someone makes a remark like that. I still don't like to look at myself in the mirror. And don't if I don't have to. But it does take time and all at once one day you'll see your new self and say Wow. Keep up the good work.....

SuzyB- Wow a three year old. I can't imagine how it would be chaseing a little around. Bet he had a ball.... Sounds like you did pretty darn good over the week end. Congrads. for getting some exercise in.

Trishaloo- Good luck on the new week. I'm sure it will be better...

Well off I go. Hope everyone has a good day....

JACKIEO: You were posting while I was, but I wanted to respond...As I've told before, I lost 35# about three years ago and I had the same feelings. In addition, these feelings contributed to putting the weight back on without truly realizing what I was doing! Make sense? You just don't notice the little day to day changes. I would say to my mom and sister, "Can you really tell a big difference?" and they could not believe I would say such a thing. I hope no one takes this wrong...but it made me understand how people with anorexia feel sometimes..NOT that I am comparing! I just think we see ourselves in the mirror every day and the changes are so slight that we just don't notice them as much.
My mom and sister got out my "fat picture"...the one that caused me to really do something about my weight. They made me sit in the same chair in the same position and take another picture (35# lighter). Once I held those pictures side by side, I really saw what I had accomplished. All along I knew I was wearing smaller sized clothes, that my feet actually went down a size, that everything fit better, etc, but those pictures helped me visualize it all.
As far as people not treating you as well, I think that's their problem! I have always had a really high self esteem, so the self esteem boost I got from losing weight made me feel invincible. If anyone treated me different, I didn't notice, mostly becuase I didn't care. But I'm sorry people are making you feel bad. But again, it is THEIR problem, not the new healthy you!
Have a good day!
Jenn

Good Monday Morning.

We had an ice storm all day yesterday. we got about 1" to 2" of nothing but ice. Not fun driving today either.

We share a lot of info on this board so I am asking for some help. My biopsy came back postive for cancer and I will be having both breasts removed soon (it is only in one, but I am having both removed, don't want to go thru this again). My decision to make is to have reconstructive surgery where they take the skin from the stomach up to the breasts. Does anyone know of anyone that had this done. I know it is painful but I just can't decide what to do. I am 51 and don't think it is really necessary, but then again. I just don't know what to do yet. My DH does not want me to do anything, but it is up to me. Iwould appreciate a lot of prayers if you will.

The scale was actually down a pound today even though DD wanted Chinese Sat and I had 2 pieces of pizza Sat night. I really don't have an appetite and when I do eat, I feel like I'm going to be sick. I'm sure it is all nerves right now and it will pass too.

Enough about me.

Deb, I didn't get the pics of Lauren's party. Please send them to me. Great MM today. Get some rest.

Woodfrogs, See you survived the teens. Hope it was fun.

Ashley, I've seen your face, it is not too thin. You are very pretty. But you are right, we never see ourselves as thin enough. The big person will always be there. Maybe that is not a bad thing, Maybe it will prevent us from gaining the wt back. Your friends are probably jealous. Don't take it too serious.

Suzy, I have trouble getting my water in on the weekends too. My DH is looking forward to the SB too! I can catch s&C on monday night too.

Trish, I have 4 nieces selling cookies. I paid them for 2 boxes each and told them to get what they wanted for themselves. I still have some in the freezer from last year. Today is a new day, you will be fine.

Jenn, I love Fitness magazine. I cut out all the exercises and put them in a book so I can change my routines around. I also get health, but like Fitness better. I think the ww pizza is yummy too.

Have a great day.

Jackie

Good Monday morning everyone!! I hope this turns out to be a wonderful week for everyone.

I hope to get to the gym today when Britt is in school; we will see if Lane is cooperative or not.

Deb: I was unable to open the pictures for some reason this morning, so I will try again in a bit. It sounds like an awesome turnout though. I can relate to the vehicle mileage; we are near 200,000 on our Explorer; thank Goodness that DH drives that one. I drive the Tahoe, and it is near 50,000 already; we drive our vehicles into the ground. I hope you have a good quiet week this week.

BOB: Loved the low-carb product list!

heart: Congrats on the size 12!! That is fantastic! As we always say, "put it behind you and move on." We've all been there, and we will all be there again....we just have to move on.

cheryl: Getting rid of the smokes and eating the SB way will do nothing but good things for your body. Glad the treatments are finished, and I hope you never have a recurrence again!!! I recently saw that white wheat flour too and wondered about it...THANKS FOR THE INFO. MONET!! That will be a nice thing to have around. The second one you listed is the one I usually get!

jackieO: I don't know if you ever see yourself like everyone else does. I really think that it is so gradual that it is hard for us to notice it. I know that if I went to bed one night at 152 pounds, and woke up the next morning, 32 pounds lighter and 22" less, it would be an astounding, overwhelmingly noticeable difference. BUT, since I did it gradually over a 6-8 month period, I don't see myself that way. I also think that once we reach one goal, we set others for ourselves, and we envision ourselves looking even better. I know that I now want to harden my abs, and tighten/firm up my back. Sometimes I think I am getting too obsessesed with it and should just be happy with how I look now, but why not set higher goals and try to reach them; otherwise, I wouldn't have anything else to work toward. As far as other people...I guess you are not fat like them anymore so they don't want you around, or you are now thin and more attractive so you are now competition for them....I don't know, but I do know that women can be very petty. I had some friends "jokingly" tell me that they don't want to hang out with me anymore because I am too pretty now....I haven't heard from them in a few months. Maybe coincidental, but I'm not going to worry about it....I have my family and other friends. Just keep up the good work, and know that you are doing this for yourself and no-one else.

Suzy: I love to watch the commercials during the SuperBowl too. I don't get HBO, so I've never watched S&theC; probably a good thing. I am looking forward to watching the Big Fat Obnoxious Fiance tonight. The girl on that show lived here in Scottsdale and was a first grade teacher at a Catholic School; she lost her job over this show.

Trishaloo: It is a new day and a new week; make the most of it!!

Jenn28: I imagine after being married to my DH for 60+ years, he will get on my nerves; he does already  . I know what you mean though. We do have a good marriage, and usually talk about stuff when it comes up instead of holding it inside. I really used to hold grudges, but I have grown up a lot and don't do that anymore. AND, I would never go to bed or leave the house angry! You can't get along with anyone 100% of the time! I am just glad that he is more laid back and not stubborn like me, or we'd really be in trouble. My weight is never down on Mondays; it is usually up...I tend to eat too much over the weekend, whether legal or not...it is always too much. I am not busy enough, so I just eat all weekend long. I can only dream about working out 5 days a week. It is so tough with kids to get those days in. I am lucky to get 3 and downright thrilled if I can get 4 in. I did read an article in one of my bodybuilding books that said that working out more than 2x per week per muscle group is not anymore beneficial than working them 2x. You don't want to overwork those muscles. But, it would be great to just to cardio one day and then weights the next....that would be a great routine that I would love to work into. I have to cram my weights & cardio into one session, so I am usually there 1 1/2 hours.

I ordered a bunch of door prizes from abc distributing for this Mom's Club party I am having tomorrow night, and they are not in yet. That is so typical of abc distributing. Now, I am going to have to go to the 99cent store tomorrow to find some stuff, and then have these things when they come in that I can't even use. Oh well!

Better go!

Take care,
Nat

Morning! (barely!)

What a morning! Its cold as freakin' whatever this morning! I don't think its as much the temp as the wet! They were predicting ice, and yet it doesn't seem to have happened to the extent the media was getting hysterical about. I had to take the devil kitten to the Catsnip van today. Then I headed up the 40 miles north to the lab. I had my blood drawn...they were so happy to see me! They had been open almost an hour and I was the first patient! It WAS a bit icier up there, but still not bad! I came home and ate a couple very small homemade oat/ww rolls from the dinner yesterday, and had a few cups of coffee. Not the best breakfast, but it was quick, and I was starved!

I am still having trouble with the vertigo, though it is a bit better. I think I will crawl into the bed for a while. I am just so tired! The weekend was wild. I fixed dinner for 40 yesterday, and Saturday, we had car trouble that was more annoying than true trouble. I am so ready for a quiet day!

I can't wait to get my lab results back. I am very anxious to see if Atkins helped my insulin levels. If so, I will stay on it, if not, then I may as well go back to SugarBusters.

OK, gotta go take a nap. Will catch you all later!

Jackie, Oh, my gosh, girl, I'm not sure what to say, except we'll be thinking about you and praying for you. On the reconstruction, a dear friend of mine had a mastectomy when she was very young. Her body kept rejecting the implants (both kinds) and she had all kinds of problems, including several surgeries. She finally found a surgeon who would do the kind of recon. you were talking about (this was several years ago when they first started doing it) and she said it was the best thing ever. She had no more problems with the reconstruction, it looked very natural and she got a tummy tuck in the process! Unfortunately I've since lost contact with her, they moved to Florida, long story. Anyway, good luck and please know we're hear for you.

Let me tell ya, don't ever ever ever ever eat a whole mess of greens by yourself...LOL My tummy was so mad this morning. But I must admit they were so good. We just used a little olive oil, salt and pepper. Of course it probably didn't help that I also had cabbage over the weekend. I was really craving the greens. :D

Jack-K...(hugzz) You are in my prayers. If its okay with you I'd like to add you to my prayer board.

Jackie-O..I don't know if I'll ever be happy with what I see. When I was 118 and starving myself I didn't see a fat girl..but I did see places where I could improve...hello..I could count every rib bone. Even now it's hard to look in the full body mirror. I've seen your pictures and you are beautiful. I can't believe your friend would be so mean. My family tells me I get too thin but they worry about me starving again. I'm praying that when you look in the mirror you will see how far you've come and how great you are looking. That you will have a healthy self image. Think about it....Colleen and Jackie are almost the same size as you, they look great..ie you look GREAT! :D

Monet...sorry that you are still having the vertigo. Praying for good test results.

Heartmom...woo hoo on the 12! You are just peeling off the pounds and inches. It's been neat watching them come off since I joined the board.

Jenn..sorry you are feeling grouchy. Boy can I relate..not today..LOL but I too have those days. It's like you wake up on the wrong side of the bed and can't figure out how to shake it. Praying today is a much better day for you.

Morning Nat! Sorry your things didn't arrive. Maybe when they do come you can put them back for another time.

Toni...Hope you have a nice day while you are housebound. It's beautiful outside. I can't wait for the kids to finish school and chunk em out the door. :)

Trish is it as nice up in Austin as it is here? The last two days have felt just like spring. We even went fishing in the pond yesterday. It was a bit too windy so they didn't catch anything. But they had a blast being outside after the last cold snap. Not looking forward to the next cold spell coming.

SuzyB...a three year old will definetly keep you busy. Glad you were able to enjoy him. My nieces and nephews are all getting older now. I think the youngest is 5 and the oldest is 17. They grow so fast.

Barbara..WTG getting in the exercise this weekend!!!

Deb...thanks for the call this weekend. It's always fun chatting with you. I need to get a copy of the phone tree. My copy is lost on the old computer. The party pictures were great.

Well time to grade some papers.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Jack-K - I am sorry to hear of your biopsy results and can understand your decision for the double mastectomy. Although I do not have first-hand personal knowledge, I can tell you that my MIL had breast cancer about 6 years ago and opted for the lumpectomy. To make a long story short, she switched doctors after the lumpectomy and was told that the first doctor did not get "clean borders" (ex. - did not get all the cells). As a result, her cancer resurfaced 5 years later and has metastasized in her liver. It sounds scarrier than it is - her prognosis is very good - but she needs chemo treatments every week for an undetermined length of time. Naturally she now wonders if she should have gone with a mastectomy and/or received a second opinion before her surgery. Her cancer level was Stage II and her doctor wanted her to make a decision in a rather quick time frame.

On another note, I use to work with a girl whose sister had a double mastecotomy with reconstructive surgery and raved of it. She actually had "nipples" tattooed on and from a distance, no one would have been able to tell the difference.

Here is the website and 1-800 number for the American Cancer Society. I found both to be EXTREMELY helpful when my MIL's cancer resurfaced last year. The website has links about reconstructive surgery and other "beauty" services for people with cancer, as well as support boards. Don't be afraid to call the 1-800 number to ask any and all questions - there is someone to help you 24/7. www.cancer.org 1-800-ACS-2345.

I am going to a Relay for Life meeting this week. Any other information I can find out, I will pass on to you. Please know you are in my thoughts and prayers . . . (((((((((HUGS)))))))))).

Jack-K- Darn I'm so sorry and know you're in my thoughts and prayers. I'm sure you'll make the right discission for you.

Monet- Hope you get a good rest and feel better soon.

Jenn-Guess we were posting at the same. Howdy to you.

Nice to see everybody on the board. I checked in at about 8 and only Debbie had posted. When I got back after lunch there were 2 whole pages. :balloons:

Debbie--I didn’t get your e-mail with the pictures of lauren’s party and would love to see them. BTW, I never did get what the occasion was. B-Day? Bat Mitzvah? What?

Congratulations on getting through the very busy week you had, and it’s great to have you back.

Suzy--Hang in there and you’ll lose those last few pounds. Wish I was at that stage where I was looking at just a few more pounds to reach goal.

Trishaloo-I sympathize about the food at church. I don’t know why church folks do this to each other. But it seems that everyone brings the fattiest, most caloric foods, and yummy stuff, to pot luck dinners. Often a church function can’t happen without the food!! :( I’m sick of it and am ready for God fearing people to stop doing this to each other. I go to a Bible study class every Wed. night and it starts at 6:30, so I have to rush dinner to get there on time. Naturally, they have pop-corn, cookies, nuts, cokes, candy, etc. and all the other junk. Everyone is moaning about their weight while they are putting another cookie on their plate. Maybe if we loved each other a little more, we wouldn’t tempt them to do what they don’t want to do. OK, enough of my rant!!

Jack-K - Whoa, that’s a biggie and I wish we all were closer so we could gather around at your house and encourage you and help you feel not so scared and nervous. Since we live all over, we definitely can hold you up in prayer, which I will do as soon as I type this little section. :grouphug: And you will be on my regular prayer list. I don’t know anything about the reconstructive surgery, but I bet someone on this board does. You also might find some good info on the web. Will also be praying for wisdom and help in your decision that you will be making. When is your surgery scheduled?

Monet--I truly hope your lab results give you some satisfaction. It’s tough to never get better even with all the work you’ve been doing. Good luck.
Did they ever figure out why you are having vertigo? An inner-ear infection? Virus?

I actually weighed myself this morning and was amazed to see that I dropped 2 whole pounds. :cb: I had a good day with food yesterday with no cravings. I have been so intent on eating a protein snack before I get hungry that I even took a chicken leg to church and munched on it in Sunday school. LOL Other people can eat their doughnut, I had my chicken leg.
Food yesterday:
B. Bite of chicken breast, oatmeal with butter, splenda and a dab of milk, sip of OJ
Sn. chicken thigh
L. 4 oz. roast turkey, gravy, salad with tomatoes and ranch dressing
stewed tomatoes, green beans, dab of peas
Snack: cheerioes with strawberries and cream
Dinner: 1/3 C brown rice, lobster in "pink" sauce (tomatoes, onions, gin, cream), green salad with avocado, sliced fresh strawberries

Actually I ate more yesterday than normal as I had the cheerioes for snack instead of cheese or other protein. And we went out for lunch and had more food then than normal.
Anyway, I am now in the 160's. A new milestone. So I have the 150's to aim for. About one pound a month should get me there by Halloween! And in 4 years I should be at goal.!!!

The dish network man is supposed to come this afternoon to hook up a new dish so I can get French TV. Should be interesting.

I'll check back later.

I'm so tired. I thought I'd be able to go lie down, was lying there, trying to fall asleep and the phone rings, almost an hour and a half later, even after telling this woman that I was going to try and take a nap, I finally got her to let me off the phone! I'm to the point I'm slap happy, can't focus and sure don't feel like I should even be driving my eyes are so tired - may let MICAHEL drive to his appt as I navigate.

WOOD, sounds like you had a good weekend. How many kids were at your sleep over? Hey, I see you got under the 225 mark - don't remember if that's new news or not, but either way, CONGRATS!

JACKIEO, even when I got down to 118 I still see someone a lot bigger. Funny thing is, when I was really big, not until I saw a picture of myself did I realize just how big I really was back then! For me, the problem is that when I got to 118, or even my goal weight of 129, my body didn't match with what I thought the weight should look like on me. May be hard to understand, but once we get together in a few weeks, you'll TOTALLY understand where I'm coming from. People think I'm exagerating when I say I have GRANDMA BETTY THIGHS, but trust me, those who've met me know I'm honest when I say I have saggy jiggly thighs. I got to the weight I had so hoped for and yet, I hated the body that I had and there's nothing I can do about it either - that sucks! As for people nicer to you when you're heavier - your not a threat to their ego back then, no people may focus on you more than them-tell them to get over it! People told me I looked emaciated - I told them they just weren't use to seeing me at a normal weight.

SUZY, haven't done Relay for Life, but did do the WDW Marathon last January. Is it a run or a walk, or both?

TRISH, you are too much, you always have me laughing. Six boxes later? The GS are outside Publix here and I just try to avoid them - if I eve stop at their table I know those thin mints will be jumping in my mouth! See you soon!!!!

JENN, I think ELI felt that way about me last night - I think I'm PMS'ing! How old is your GF? I get Fitness too, good mag. I get Shape as well, but my fav. is Prevention!

TONI, the cake was delish actually. It was a Nicaraguan rum cake. One are had a bit too rum for me though, but overall it was good, moist and pretty. Did you get the info for the free Field and Stream mag I sent - thought it may be something your DH would be interested in if you hadn't seen it.

JACKK, you know you are in my thoughts and prayers. You just give a shout and I'm here for you in any way I can be. Will try to resend the pics from LAUREN'S party to you.

PANCHO, can't believe you have that many miles on your car! I'm just hoping my car gets BOB & I safely to FRUITS house and back. Of course, I'd love it if my car gets to 100K but I don't think that's going to happen, esp. without a lot of extra costs incured
.

MONET, hope the lab results are good for you - when are they do back? Hope you don't have more problems with the vertigo. Wonder if ELI will ever get a recurrance.

COUNTRY, will find the phone tree and forward it to you later. You with the greens, me with the onions - ELI didn't want to be around me last night!

GATOR, will try to resend pics. It was LAUREN'S 16th bday last week, so a SWEET SIXTEEN is what she wanted and got :) CONGRATS on your loss!

Okay, gotta run and get in the shower and hopefully not only get nice and clean, but wake up. Will try to check in later.

Afternoon all--this is going to be one of those "drive-by" postings!

I just finished a huge salad. I grilled a large chicken breast on the George Foreman and cut up half the meat for today and put the rest in the fridge for a salad tomorrow. I hard boiled an egg and added a few green olives to the rest of the veggies--and it was a mighty tasty salad. It must have been I had to fight Belle for it!

Jackie--I pm'd you, to let you know that I'm thinking about you. You know we'll be here for you!

It looks like everyone is dealing with sucky weather--we had thunder storms this am and now it's just cold rain. No snow or ice thank goodness!

Deb--the pictues were fabulous! It looks like a great party!

oops--work calls!

Have a good OP day everyone!

Good Morning all you great SBer's!

Not much going on again today. We were going to head into town, but it is snowing hard, so decided to wait until tomorrow. Wanted to go to the hospital to see an Aunt. She had a colonoscopy (sp) done Friday. Later in the day her husband ended up taking her to the emergency room. They had taken a biopsy and had nipped her intestine. So she ended up having surgery early Saturday morning to repair it. Well, we will get in there tomorrow anyway. She will be there a minimum of 10 days.

Don't know why, but I am sure craving sweets. Got into the Christmas fudge last night and ate two pieces. This is getting out of hand. I went over two years with only my planned cheats Christmas day. Now I seem to be doing it once a week. Help!!

Deb-- Great pics! Looks like a good time was had by all. Maybe you can get caught up on your sleep today. You were running yourself ragged last week.

Wood-- Good morning to you!

JackieO-- Good for you. I use the weekends as my time off exercising. Somedays I do get in a bit extra. I think maybe some of your friends are jealous! My oldest boy told me that my face looked more haggard because of the weight I had lost. I asked him what he expected, after losing 112 pounds. All the skin that was stretched doesn't just disappear! It hangs down, on my face and stomach, legs and arms!!

Suzy--I would love to have a toddler around for awhile. I miss having kids around. I told my nephew to bring his daughter over some night, and I would watch her while they went out. But they haven't yet!! She is 3, and I just love her to death!

Trish-- LOL, I stay completely away from those cookies.....

Jenn- I keep trying to talk my Grandma into getting a dog, but she just flat refuses. I don't know about her.....she had a beautiful black cat show up at her place, (she is in a rural area) and she wouldn't even think about keeping her. My Mom ended up with her. But a pet of any kind would be so much company for her!

Toni-- Hello and good morning!

Jack-k-- Those ice storms are no fun. My prayer's are with you Jackie. Don't know anything about the reconstructive surgery. Even though an Aunt just had it done. But hang in there, they have a great many new treatments now.

Pancho-- That is what I didn't like about ABC too. And then they seem to ship everything separate so the shipping charges just eat you up!!

Monet-- I sure hope that you get some good news regarding your blood test. It must be very maddening having to switch back and forth. I sure hope Atkin's has helped you!

Country-- I am a cabbage fiend! Love the stuff, even just raw with alittle bit of salt on it!!

Gator--Woo hoo!! You're doing great!!

Fillise-- Good morning to you!

Back later........going to go have an apple!

Running home. I have a pot of veggie soup in the crock pot. So dinner will be easy.

Going to try to get to a friend's to borrow her treadmill. Maybe I can get in a week or so of exercise on that.

Had to cancel all my PT appts until after the surgery. Not going to do my any good to do them now and quit for so long. Will go back when I can.

Monet, hope your blood tests turn out good.

Trish, I would never do the implants. This is the only thing I would consider doing. It's just hard making up my mind. thanks for your prayers.

Country, By all means add me to any board. I can use all the prayers I can get.

Suzy, thanks for all the info. I am looking into a support board just to get people's opinion.

Toni, thanks. I need all the prayers I can get.

Gator, thanks. The surgery depends on what I decide. If I do nothing but the mastecomy then right away, but it takes a couple weeks to coordinate the surgeon and the plastic surgeon's scheudles. Igot a laugh out of you eating your chicken leg at church. Gotta do what you gotta do. Congrats on the 2 lbs.

Deb, can't wait to get the pics. Don't forget. Get some rest and take the phone off the hook.

cHERYL, Just went back to last weeks board and read about your CSN. I am so glad you are in remission and doing all you can do to keep it there. Strokes are so scary. I think the worse thing in the world. I will keep you in my prayers that you remain in remission.

Teensy, Wow what a nightmare with your aunt. You are not even safe with a little procedure like that. 10 days is a long time for a hospital stay now days. Throw that fudge away or ask DH to hide it so only he knows where it is. You just have to get a mind set. It will come. Thanks for your sweet words. I'll be fine.

Have a great evening.

Jackie

Jack-K, prayers are being lifted up for you. Can't begin to know what all you are going through right now, but whatever decisions you make I'm sure will be what is best for you. I've taken care of many mastectomy pts after surgery & some have been really strong. By reading your posts I'm sure you will be one of those that will soar above the problems & do really well. I personally would also opt for the double even though only one seems affected at present. DH & I will both be praying for you as well as our church family.

Good afternoon:

I got to the gym today and got in a good workout. I cut my treadmill time by 10 minutes because I had to go peeeee really bad....I gotta start going before I jump on that treadmill. I then ran by Wal-Mart and then to Wendy's to get a bowl of chili with onions & cheese. It is still pretty cold here (for us). I love it though!

Jack-K: I was posting at the same time as you last time. I can't even begin to tell you what was going through my head when I read your post. Bless your heart! I will pray for a positive outcome. There are so many advances out there, and so many wonderful, positive stories. We just found out last year that my sister-in-law had stage 2 or 3 breast cancer that had spread to the lymphnodes. She chose NOT to have the masectomy and appears to be in full remission as of now. She just had the cancer and lymphnodes removed and did the radiation and chemo. I would probaby do the same as you though; that way I would feel more assured that it was gone!

Deb: I did get the pics; thank you...what an extravagant party. The decorations looked nice, the cake was lovely, and all the guests seemed to be having a lovely time. You are not a proud mommy or anything are you....with all the pictures of your little girl???? I hope you get some sleep tonight.

Monet: Glad you got your stuff done and back home safely. I will be anxious to hear abour your lab results when you get them in.

Gator: Congrats on the 2# loss; that is a huge accomplishment for you. I know how difficult it is for you to drop any!

Teensy: That sucks....a relatively easy procedure turns into a two week stay at the hospital. I hope your DA recovers fully and is able to return home soon. I, too, have been dipping into the sweet stuff lately. I shared a hot fudge sundae with Lane after church on Saturday. I also have been eating a lot of my "legal" cookies, but in very illegal proportions!! I gotta get a handle on it. I don't like the way abc ships either; you end up paying far more for the item once they ship in individually.

Well, I better get going! It s/b an easy night....we are going to have leftovers, and then I have to prepare everything for tomorrow evening. I have most of it done, but have to get it all organized.

Take care,
Nat

JACK-K - Lots of prayers being sent your way!! I'm so sorry. Has anyone else in your family been diagnosed with breast cancer?

Today- Eating wise, not great. Exercise- good. I did my 2 mile WATP tape and it wasn't enough(normally do the 3 mile), so later on I did my own workout. That was a first. I think I did around 35 minutes and then some floor exercises. I decided to "practice" in case I get called to fill-in for my instructor. I did okay, just need to improve on the variety of moves. The main thing was making sure I could talk while exercising, lol. Stayed at home today, just cleaned,etc..tomorrow Boogie has a 10 am appt. I think he's congested. I listened to him with the stethescope, and he sounds clear, but with him that doesn't necessarily mean he is. Then I'm going to visit my grandmother. It's her 77th birthday. And of course, exercise class tomorrow night. Need to get off this computer and start supper. Taco salad. Like I need more fat! But that's what the majority wants.

Hello friends!

Happy Monday! I can’t stand Monday! It’s my worst day of the week! I went to the doctor today and he said that the incision just has an ingrown hair in it. WHEW! I surely didn’t want my “thing” to fall off! I told him that and he cracked up! He thinks I’m a complete nut! I’m feeling much better today than I was this weekend. I’m glad that passed quickly. I do have a stuffy nose but it isn’t that bad.

I think I must be about to start my period because I want chocolate. I never crave chocolate. Today at the store I bought some Sugar Buster brand fudgesicles (sp?) I had one and they were yummy. I also bought the SB vanilla/fudge swirl ice cream. I’m out of control!

Well, let me catch up with some posts because I think American Idol is coming on tonight and I’ve got some school work to do before it comes on!!

DEB: The pictures were great! I can tell that everyone had a great time! The place was really pretty – I can’t believe that it is in a strip mall! That cracks me up! Were the prices reasonable - I know that is a stupid question – you wouldn’t do anything outrageous – you are the thriftiest person that I know! Hopefully now things will settle down a bit. I noticed you didn’t have any pictures of yourself in there! What’s up with that?

WOOD: Don’t know that I could have stayed OP with a bunch of teens in my house! That would drive me crazy!! Haha! WTG on the exercise! I need to start scrapbooking soon – my stuff is piling up!

JACKIEO: Girl..I lose 10 pounds and I think I’m FINE! Haha! Just kidding! I know that in my mind I will always be FAT! Even when I wasn’t fat – in high school – I was a 10/12 and I’m tall – I thought I was fat. I guess because all of my friends were in 4s I felt fat. Oh well, as for the friends that are being ugly – they are jealous! So – **** on them! I’m here for you and I’m only an hour away! :D

SUZY: I watch the super bowl for the commercials too! That is the best part if you ask me! Those are always so funny! I think we might have to drive the wagon by there for that 1 tator tot! How could you stop at 1! You have more will power than me! HA!

TRISH: Someone at school had the girl scout cookie order form in the lounge! I didn’t get any this year though! That’s a good idea – sending them to the troops – I may do that! Thanks for the tip!

JENN: I’m always a grump! HAHA! Well, only when I have to go to work… Glad the party was fun and everyone enjoyed your pizza! I’m sure it was yummy!

TONI: I’m just hoping the temps drop down so that it is cool and not humid! I know that I would get sick of snow but I would be nice to have it every once and a while.

JACK-K: I still can’t believe that you have to go through all of this. You will pull through with flying colors my friend. As for the reconstructive surgery…I don’t know. My friend that I told you about chose not to have that done. She only had 1 breast removed and now wishes that she would have had them both done. She loves not having a boob! She said that she goes home and the first thing she does is take that fake boob off! She wishes that she wouldn’t have any now. You know I’m a plastic surgery lover but I don’t know about the implants – there are so many complications that can arise. If you are just going to have tissue from your stomach and no implants - that’s a different story. Do some research on it and get some opinions! Let us know what you decide – you know I’m here for you! :grouphug:

PANCHO: When those things come in from ABC – send them to school if it is something that the teacher can use! As a teacher, we always appreciate things like that!

MONET: I’m so sorry that you are still feeling bad. Should you be driving with the vertigo?

COUNTRY: Girl – you must have been a salad shooter today with all those greens!

GATOR: WTG on the 2 pounds. You had me cracking up with being in the 150s by October and at goal in 4 years! You are too funny girl! French TV ohh la la!

FILLISE: That salad sounds yummy! That’s just how I like my salads – good thing I’m not there – you would have to fight me for it!!

TEENSY: I’m with you on craving sweets. I don’t normally do that! But, I tell you – right now I could eat chocolate until I puke! I’ve really been wanting some cookies – fresh out of the oven! I have those cookie nuggets in the freezer and I sure do want to pop a few of those into the oven! That’s why I bought the SB ice cream today – hopefully it will help with the cravings!

Well, I think I’m all caught up! Y’all have a great day!

JACKIEO- I agree with the rest. SOunds like your friend is jealous. I've only received one comment that was similar to that so far. Robby's cousin said I looked sick. And that was when I was a size 20! LOL! Wonder what she thinks now, actually who cares? Yes, it is hard to see yourself as others see you. I still feel very fat at times. But then I do the picture comparison thing, and I can see a MAJOR difference. Now I get compliments all the time. And if I talk to someone about how big I used to be(they didn't know me then) they are shocked. I've had a couple people tell me that they can't imagine me being as big as I was, that I look healthy the way I am. But as far as the way I see myself in the everyday world, I still feel outta place at times, but I know that's it's in my head- although, it doesn't change the way I feel. I don't think I will ever be happy with my weight or size. But to some degree, you have to come to terms with it.

HiedieHo All!

Project for tomorrow.................I just found when my DS came home this afternoon. Yesterday he bought some frozen food to take to work today and put it in the freezer in the garage. This morning when he went to get it he found the freezer door oartially open and things soft. He leaves for work in the wee hours of morning so left a note for DIL who threw the stuff out for the garbage pick up today. She left the things in tupperware containers to be rescued. I decided to have fish for supper, knew there wasn't any in the freezer so didn't even look out there and picked some up on the way home from NH. So tomorrow between doctor's appointment and entertaining I will help DIL finish the job! CAn you imagine the loss of money let alone food. There was prabably close to $600-1000 worth of meats etc.!!

I don't know where the day went. I just I was doing things but don't feel I accomplished much!

HEART: Okay you've beat yourself up! Now forgive yourself and move on. That's the best we can do when we've goofed. You can do it! And you did!

JACKK: You are in my prayers. You are only 51, not over the hill! It is a hard decision to make but it seems your surgery decision was made rather quickly. Did you get a second opinion? Would you feel more "normal" if you had the reconstruction done? Maybe a second medical opinion would help. I think I would want the reconstruction. (in a normal size, not like they are now!)

V: Welcome. Your post turned up so you must have done it right!

Am tired, Going to rest, stitch and watch TV.

Take care, Shirley

Got on tonight and was going to read the posts, since I barely skimmed them this morning. whoa!

JACK: I am so sorry that you have to deal with this on top of everything else. I had a friend who had a double masectomy and had the reconstruction done a little while later. She told me she did it for herself, her husband told her he loved her one way or the other, and to do what she wanted. I wish I could ask her how she feels about it now, four or five years later, but she moved to Memphis two years ago, and I have lost touch with her! I will definitely be praying for you. I wish I could reach out and give you a BIG hug. I would also cook for you, but dang, its so far! :(

VMOORE: Hello! Welcome! We love to have new people join us! Hop right on in, and make yourself at home! Where in Georgia are you? I live just outside of Atlanta near Peachtree Corners/Duluth. I see Fruitloupe has already started in on whether you are a Dawg fan or not. (there are a few on here that are certified football crazies! ;) ) Fruit is obviously an LSU fan, Gator is a Florida fan, and BOB is a Vols fan, Fillise is for Auburn, and I am a DAWGS fan. Football season is pretty interesting around here!

Good evening all--

I think we are going to make it into town tomorrow. Snowed all day, but didn't add up to much. Got my Agave Nectar today!! Now, do I use it just like sugar?? If a recipe calls for 1/2 c sugar, do I use 1/2 c Agave?? I opened the jar and took a tiny taste.....it's really good. Now on to some recipes that I have seen on here!

Jack-k-- They are very worried about an infection setting in. Because she went home after the first procedure, and then she ate a bowl of soup, it apparently stretched the hole. And infection was just starting. If it had of had a chance to get a bigger hold, they couldn't have operated on her Saturday morning. Have they scheduled your procedure yet, please keep us updated and know that our thoughts and prayers will be with you all through this.

Pancho--Lol, I have learned that I go pee before I do anything.....including leaving the house.

Heart-- Pretty soon you will be the permanant teacher. Happy Birthday to your DG.

Fruit-- I will try and help you stay away from the chocolate....if you will kick my butt!! Oh my gosh girl, you got me on that comment to Country!! LOL.

Vmoore--Welcome to Sugar Buster's. This is a great board, with very knowing, supportive, and friendly people. Post lots, and let us get to know you, and vice versa.....

Sef-- Yes, that is a shame. I always worry about ours too, we buy a half a beef every year. Then buy chicken and pork as it comes on sale. So we always have a freezer full, infact two!!

Hello to Toni, and Monet.....

Thanks alot for the welcome!! Im still as excited as a kid in a candy store to find this place...lol
Fruitloop- yes, i am a dogs fan all the way...but when we lost (so badly this year) i pulled for LSU and was very excited for them.

Mont320- I live in middle ga., just south of macon near warner robins afb...do you know where that is? Also, my husband and i love football season....im more into the college than the pro...college players have more heart ( they dont get overpaid like pro)

Has anyone seen the new Carb Countdown milk available? I get it at my local Winn Dixie. Its milk that is suppose to be made from real milk with the natural sugars taken out and replaced with splenda. The 2% has 4.5 g of fat and 3 carbs...the carbs are sugar carbs...but it taste JUST like milk, only a touch sweeter!!!! Just wondering if anyone else has tried it and had any opinions on it.
I have to get son to school....later ;)

Good Tuesday morning.

Nothing exciting with me. We did get the treadmill last night. Hooked it up, but didn't use it. Plan on doing that tonight. All ofyou that have them, how long do you walk and at what speed?

Have an appt with the plastic surgeon tomorrow morning. Hopefully I will be able to make a more educated decision or he may scare me away.

Calling for snow here, but so far it hasn't done anything.

Melf, thank you so much for your prayers. I am a strong person. I also don't beleive in being sick or having anything wrong with you. Ha, so much for that, seems like everything is wrong me me. I am a positive person and I think attitude is 90% of it. Just keep those prayers coming.

Pancho, if I had to pee even a little bit and I got onthe treadmill, there would be water everywhere. Thanks for your kind words and inspirations.

Heartmom, Yes, my mom and grandmother. So now my girls are really at a high risk. I'm sure you will do great as the instructor. It is hard to talk and work out. Good luck.

Fruit, you are a mess. You will say anything. I had to quit buying SF ice ram, Just can't control myself. Glad you are feeling better. I would never do the implants. It it the skin from the stomach. Hey a free tummy tuck. Maybe now I can get my belly button pierced! (just kidding)

VMoore, welcome to our group. It is a great one! Seems like you know all about SB so join right in here. 12 lbs is grat. Keep up the good work.

Sef that is horrible about all your food. I think that has happened to everyone at one time or another. It is a mess to clean up too much less the cost of the food. We are meeting with the plastic surgeon in the morning so I will be able to make a more educated decision. I have checked around and the docs get rave reviews so I am confident with them.

Monet, I consider myself hugged. Thanks so much.

Teensy, make the cheesecake. It's delish. Don't know about the surgery yet. I'll let you all know.

Deb, don't forget to send me Lauren's pics.

Need to get busy here. Be back later.

Hey Everybody!!!! Thanks for all your support and suggestions based on your experiences regarding my body image issues. I talked about it with my therapist last night and feel optimistic about working on this. I am also praying for more patience as I lose these last few pounds. Delay gratification is not a concept that comes easily to me. I have found the book, "It's not about food...freeing yourself from weight and food obsession" helpful. Of course I am a self help non-fiction junkie!!

jackK- my thoughts and prayers are with you for your visit with the doc tommorrow. I know you will make the best decision for you. If you decide to get the tummy tuck, I think you should go for the belly button piercing. You could totally get away with it . I will have a sugar free bake sale to fund the piercing if you want. HAHA.(really, I am not kidding)

Fruit- Thanks for reminding me that you are only an hour away. Your posts always bring a smile to my face.

Teensy- so true about the skin just kinda sagging after losing a bunch of weight. I liked your matter of fact attitude toward your son's comment.

Deb, Country, Heart, Nat, Jenn28-- Thank you so much for your kind words. You are all the BEST!!!!!!

Have a good day everyone-----Ash

Good morning to everyone,
Hope that your day is going well. They'll calling for 6-12 inches of snow sometime between now and tomorrow morning. I'm forseeing a snow day for Wed. Food yesterday was pretty good: b: egg, bacon, cheese on WW toast,l: veggie delight sub on WW, d: tuna helper snack: celery and an orange
Exercised last night. And so far today: same brakfast as yesterday. I think I'm doing pretty well with my water intake(I always drink lots at the gym).

JackieO - I had a hard time picturing myself as fat. And it really messed me up for a long time. I think I see myself as I am, now. It's really hard though. You had a "friend: say that to you? Sounds like she's jealous.

SuzyB156 - I may sneak upstairs fro SATC too. I'm usually the food committee for Superbowl. But we have TiVO, so I can watch SATC anytime. Scrapbooking is as simple or as complex as you choose to make it. Mine tends to be more simple, and as a consequence, quicker. Since it looks like we might have a snow day tomorrow, I may work onit tomorrow too... Watching scrapbooking on DIY, they got so complex sometimes...

Jenn28 - I find that if I exercise more(strength training and cardio) that the scales reflect it.

Deb - We had 6 teenagers, My 2 plus 4 more. They were extremely good. I'm hoping to be 220 tomorrow, the scales have been good lately.

Jack-K - We have a treadmill too. I usually start slow, around 2.5 and owrk my way up gradually, and do 2-3 miles.

Have a great day everyone!

More good news with MICHAEL - he just called from school. He was awarded a SILVER KEY AWARD from the SCHOLASTICS ART AWARD here in Miami - for his film. Suppose to be some type of ceremony on Sunday I think :D Not sure of all the specifics, will have to find out more. :D

Will be back later!!!!

Good Tuesday morning:

Lane slept until almost 9a.m. I went in to check on her at 8:45, and her blanket was right up in her face, so I moved it to make sure she was o.k., and she moved around a bit so I left her room and let her wake up on her own. Heck, she might still be sleeping if I didn't go in and disturb her. She is usually up by 7-7:30 a.m. I guess she got some much needed sleep. It's a good thing too since I have to volunteer in Britt's class, and her mood is what dictates how long I stay.

I have to get to the 99 cent store today to buy some stuff for my Mom's Club party tonight. We are having it at Fuddruckers, so I am just going to have a salad. I was up to 123.5# today, and my TOM is on the way in a few days, but I usually don't go up that much. I want to get back down to 120# and stay there!! We will see what weigh-in-wed. brings. I got my Slim in Six program but haven't had a chance to look it over yet. I am also still working on DH for the Ab Scissor. I'm hoping he is waiting for my b-day on Sunday to tell me to order it.

heart: Sounds like you will have a busy day; I hope Boogie is o.k.

fruit: Did doc pull the infected hair out? OUCH! Glad it wasn't anything serious. Thanks for the suggestion on the abc stuff; maybe I'll get lucky and it will make it in today. If not, there are a few things that I could donate to the school, or use as future gifts down the road.

Vmoore: Welcome! I hope you are able to stick with SB this time for a lifetime. Congrats on the 12#'s; that is fantastic. I haven't tried the milk yet, but sounds great.

Sef: what a loss. Our electricity goes out a lot where we live, and we sometimes have to hook up the generator to our big freezer to keep from losing everything. Britt has left it open a few times before, and it was left open for awhile, but not long enough to thaw everything.

Teensy: I think you are supposed to use 1/4 cup less (1 cup sugar = 3/4 cup Agave). That is what all the sites say that have it listed. You may have to experiment with it a little bit to find the texture you like.

Jack-K: I have found that the speeds on treadmills seem to be different for some reason. The one that I use at the gym, I alternate between 4.2mph - 5.5 mph....to do a hi/lo type exercise. When I am at 4.2, I am at a fast paced walk, and 5.5 is a jog.

Well, I am running behind, and still have to get everyone dressed and ready.

Have a great day!

Morning all! I'm doing another quick post--soooo much work to do!

I was able to enjoy a bagel this morning--a perfectly legal bagel. Thomas is making a "carb counting" bagel. The first ones I'd seen were made with regural white flour so I didn't buy them, but last night they had some that were 100% whole wheat with less than 1 gram of sugar so I bought them.. Sigh, I've really missed bagels.

Jackie--Good luck with the PS today! The more information the better for making a decision you'll feel good about. Let us know what you decise and do let is know as soon as you schedule the surgery.

Vmoore--welcome to our little corner of the world! I think we all felt like we'de found a home when we found this board!

Everyone else--I hope you have a good OP day!

Morning everyone!

I slept a bit late, and then have been doing some work, cleaning a bit and actually got on the treadmill this morning! Yay me! My eating is going well, I am sticking to Atkins ok, and while I am not seeing the stellar results I wish I could see, I am feeling good.

GATOR: I got two Spanish books I ordered yesterday. One on verb tenses and a dictionary. I may get brave like you and sign up for a class....;)

VMOORE: You bet I know where Warner Robins is. My husband is from Moultrie, so we drive south on 75 when we go to his mom's to visit. I went to UGA too, so I met people from all over the state while there. I know Georgia better than the state I was born and raised in. I have used the Carbcountdown milk a lot! I get the chocolate, and recently found the fat free stuff at the farmer's market. My store, Publix, sells the homogenized. Isn't it good? Right now, I am on Atkins by doctor's orders due to my insulin levels, but will go back to SB eventually. For that reason, I am keenly interested in those new low carb products. I think Heartmom on here likes the Carbcountdown too.

Oh, goodness! Look at the time! I gotta go get a few things done before a friend of mine arrives in about 30 minutes! Hopefully, I will have time to get on later!

FILLISE: We were posting at the same time...did you like those bagels? I got a bag of them back before Christmas, and was kind of disappointed. I had my mouth all set for big, chewy and soft inside, and it was not like that at all! I wish my son in law would go ahead and make the ww bagels he has been threatening to make for a few weeks! I would quit Atkins in a heartbeat for a big fresh ww bagel!

I thought i would give a little info on myself, actually i just wanted to post again...lol
Im 34, housewife and mother to 2 kids...17 year old daughter and 6 year old son. :dizzy: I am a diabetic and my dr. put me on sb over a year ago. It worked really great until i decided food was more important. After recently dealing with blood sugars in the 300's, I have decided it needs to be a WOL. Well after 3 weeks my sugar is lower than its ever been. It hasnt been over 150 in over a week. :D My only downfalls right now are that im not exercising and im not drinking enough water....i know i need to its the getting it done im having a problem with. I am a no will power procrastinater...lol
Well i guess thats enough about me....i just love having this new lifeline here ( i know im a little to excited, ill calm down soon i promise)

Trish and I'm a STRESS EATER!!! Jordan called last night and said he and his gf are getting married in July. Now for those of that don't know, Jordan is my 18 year old son (19 in May) and a Marine. He's currently at Camp Pendleton, CA, for training and then off to who knows where. Neither he nor his gf have really been out on their own and are clueless! We love her, she's a sweet girl, but they are way too young. So what did I do today? Stopped at McD and had a hamburger that wasn't even good, and fries. I knew what I was doing when I did it but I did it anyway. In the grand scheme of things, I know that this is not the end of the world, but you just want to keep your children safe and happy no matter what their age I guess.

I'm sorry this is such a rant but I'm so thankful you guys are here.

VMoore: can I ask what your name is? vmoore just isn't too catchy, LOL. Welcome.

Talk to ya'll later.

It's been a long time since I've visited my SB friends. I thought for sure my bio would be gone, thanks Deb for not deleting it ;) It has been a very busy time for me a my family as I'm sure for many of you. My children are getting bigger, smarter, and more independent everyday. As for me, I think I'll borrow from my dh who has a saying that goes something like, while were planning for tommorrow life keeps happening today. That's me, I've been letting life just go by making plans to change tomorrow. I've really been living in the grey of life too long. Instead of waiting for another tomorrow, I'm trying to change and live each day a little better.

Deb's MMs are dead on the money and I've already printed them and I'm putting them on the refridgerator to read everytime I walk by. I updated my SB bio and I'm back on board, (and with your permission rejoining this group). My weight has not changed much in the past 2 years as I've regained most of the weight I lost back in 2001. I started SB today, my goal is to drop 14lbs by my sister's wedding in June. I realize short term goals are better, but I realistically have no idea how much weight I will lose as I haven't been 100% on plan in a couple years. If I can loose a pound a week then I can meet my goal the 2nd week of May.

If you are wondering where the inspiration has come from, let's just say that I've finally realized that life is full of struggles for each one of us and although mine seem like a mountain to me they are a mole hill compared to someone elses. When I turned 30 I made some really positive changes in my life, including losing 30 extra pounds. When I got injured I lasped back into the person I was before I took what was handed to me laying down and hung desperately on to the life preserver when it was thrown. I don't want to live like this anymore. My rebirth (for lack of a better word) has already begun, my children and I finished cleaning up the front yard and planting a very simple rose garden on Sunday. All that's left is to stain the old wood fence, my goal is to have it done by the end of the weekend. Something I've been talking about for years.

I have a laundry basket full of papers under my desk, after getting rid of this clutter I can and will do my income taxes in the next 2 weeks.

To keep myself honest I'm printing this post and I will keep you all up to date.

Mary (Melf) says it best and I noticed still has it on her signature: No one can go back and make a brand new start. Anyone can start from now and make a brand new ending.

Here's to starting now (cheers!)

Hi all,
I haven't had a very good couple of days. I feel almost like I am having a breakdown. I've never been one to suffer from any kind of mental difficulties, but I snapped yesterday evening! I told ya'll yesterday that I have been a real grump since Saturday. Well last night, it all broke loose! My boss made the management staff (me and two other girls) stay late, thus causing me to miss jazzercise. It was really a small thing, but it actually made me so mad, I CRIED all the way home! I had just been feeling ICK and thinking all day how much stress I could relieve with jazzercise, and then I MISSED IT! Well, needless to say, I was a total basketcase by the time I got home. I had my mom on the phone telling me she thinks there's something wrong with my birth control and it's making me short circuit. Brandon was at a total loss since I have never ever done this before. Well, after a good cry, I actually felt better. I think it's just severe PMS. It seems to happen about every other month that I just have really bad PMS, but I am on the 3rd week of my pills(next week is my week off) and won't actually have TOM until some time next week. Isn't that a long time to have PMS??? Does anyone have any experience with this? My mom thinks I should see my OB/GYN, but I really feel like it's just a bad month. Today, I don't feel volatile, just kind of drained and out of sorts. It's all really odd. I HATE HORMONES!!!!!
Thanks to you all for letting me vent. I have a specific thanks to COUNTRY...after you sweet words yesterday, I realized that I myself had not been praying lately. My faith is a great support for me and I haven't been relying on it. Thanks for the reminder.
Also, Jack-K: I'm thinking about you. Boobs ain't all they're cracked up to be! I have a good friend who had a radical mastectomy several years ago and did not have reconstruction. Her husband gives her a "new boob" (prosthetic) every year for Christmas. Everyone's different so find out all your options and do what feels right. I've had several people very close to me with cancer. THe one thing that they all have in common is an incredibly positive attitude. I'm sure it's hard, but keep your chin up and PRAY HARD. God will pull you through!
Everyone have a great day and evening!
Jennifer

Jennifer: Several years ago a friend of mine was put on birth control pills and had a severe case of depression and emotional changes. The OB/GYN took her off the pills and told her never to take them again. Within a month she was back to normal.

Hi everyone - Just got in from school a few minutes ago and am just taking some quiet time before the kids get home. School is going well. I seem to be one of the few non-professional photographers in the class - but it is working out okay. I seem to have grasped the computer end of Photoshop quicker than some of the "photographers" so I kind of have a deal with them - I help them with the computer and they in turn give me pointers on the photography end. It works well :smug: Snow is in our forecast as well and the last I heard was a foot or more by the morning commute - which inevitably spells out N-O S-C-H-O-O-L. If I can get out of the driveway, I'll see if my mother can watch the kids so I can go to work for a few hours. Although I would love to stay home in my pj's all day, I wasn't at work today and I don't like to miss two days in row if possible. The work just piles up too quickly and it is not like anyone is standing in line waiting to do my job.

VMOORE - Welcome. I don't think I said that yesterday, so I'm saying it now. You will love this board and come to depend on it everyday as I have. I'm 35 and have two children also - two boys ages 10 and 7.

FILLISE - thanks for the info on the bagels. I'll have to check them out again next week when I go shopping. I already did the shopping for this week because of the snow storm prediction, but I'll have to remember to look next week. I too love bagels and miss them often. I use to meet my mother and sisters at Dunkin Donuts at the mall every Saturday morning and we would all share coffee and bagels while we went over our week. It was a great tradition, but since we are all on diets now, it seems to have faded.

PANCHO - Don't you just love when little ones sleep in? My boys (especially my youngest) are up early EVERY day - even when we don't have school or sports. They are usually up by 6:30 - 7:00 at the latest and I'm always telling them - go back to bed - read a little - take some time to rest. Didn't you say that Lane was just getting over a cold? Perhaps that is why the extra sleep was needed.

WOOD - My scrapbooking is very, very simple. In fact, it is probably too simple. I have seen some of the extravagant pages that some people can complete, but my patience level and time allowance are both limited.

TRISH - I too am a stress eater and understand totally understand the trip to McD's. I tend to grab candy when I'm stress and I literally don't even know that I'm shoving one piece in my mouth after another. Maybe once the planning of the wedding and the reality of it hits, your son and his g.f. will sit back and think about the seriousness of marriage and have second thoughts. 18 and/or 19 is very young - how long have they been together? Maybe her parents will feel the same as you and will be able to discourage a wedding this soon. Good luck . . .

DEB - Awesome news about Michael!!! From what you have said about him and his determination and hardwork, I am not surprised. Make sure you take lots of photos on Sunday!

JACK-K - Good luck with your appointment tomorrow. I hope that you find the answers and reassurances that you need . . . I'll be thinking of you.

MISSY - Glad it was only a hair. I had an "in-grown" hair once on my leg. Apparently I shaved my legs and when this hair was growing, it grew in and not out. My whole leg got infected and after 3 different doctors and 2 months (yes, two months!), I finally found a young intern in the ER who was able to diagnosis me and treat me - all in the same day! Those little hairs can be very painful!

Okay - thats about it. Think I'll chill in the recliner for the next 10 minutes or so. One thing - has anyone heard from Talitha? It is unusual for her to be away this long and I remember the last time she was on board, she wasn't feeling well again. Just wondering . . . maybe I missed something or someone knows something that I don't. Just hope that all is well with her.

Talk soon -
SUZYB

Gotta get off my computer, so I need to posts my posts. Hope to be back, but if not, have a great eveing.

Ashley, nothing like a therapist talking to a therapist. Self-help is good. I like the idea about the bake sale. I guess I'm more vain than I thought.

Deb, how exciting for Michael. Send him my good wishes.

Woodfrogs, Hope you can dig your way out tomorrow. I keep telling myself summer is coming. Just not soon enough.

Pancho, Wow,I guess Lane was catching up on some missed sleep. Hope she is in a good mood for you today. thanks for the info on the treadmill. I was doing 3.5 mph at the PT place, but think I could go a little faster.

Fillise, I'm going to look for those bagels. Can you count the whole thing as 1 starchy carb?

Monet, good for you getting on the treadmill today :tread: I am hoping to do the same tonight.

Vmoore, I think everyone on this board will agree, this is not a diet, but something will we do for the rest of our lives. There are so many people here that have been doing this for 3-4 years or more. You know it works, just gotta do it. The exercise will come when you want to see more wt loss.

trish, I feel for you. Hopefully the girls' mother will have a say in this and stop it. Maybe it all the emtion of him leaving that has made then jump into this. I agree 19 is much too young. Kids today are clueless. I was married at 20 and it was much different then. My DD was 23 and she was clueless and she is very mature. Hoping they come to their senses. I think I would have stopped at McD's too!

Idblond, Welcome back. I'm glad you are reborn and ready to do this again. You sound very positve and I'm sure you will succeed.

Hey, guys. First a couple responses before I forget them..

DEB- Aren't you so proud of Michael?

VMOORE- I drink the 2 % Carb countdown(walmart- $2.50). I think it's really good and like the sweet taste. I've also had the chocolate and it's pretty good. I do not like the fat-free, which is unusual since I've always drank regular skim milk.

JENN- It may be the BCP messing with your hormones. OR- have you had any unusual stress in the past 6 months? After having Boogie with all the stress I was dealing with his heart condition, I got where I couldn't stand myself. I would just get sooo mad, out of the blue and have irratic mood swings. I think it was because I was always holding it in, then it just got to me, you know? I saw a counselor a few times, and it did help to talk about things. Although I wasn't depressed they put me on anti-depressants saying that I had "anxiety." I took them for a couple of weeks and stopped taking them when they had sexual side effects. Anyway..things are better now. But I remember hating the way I felt. I was so irritated that I didn't even like being around myself if that makes any sense.

Man, you guys got me wanting a bagel with some cream cheese and jam! Too bad I can't find any legal ones. Well, Boogie went to the doc and she heard a slight wheezing(which is what I heard). But nothing really significant. So he's on Zithromax and albuterol for now. My grandmother turned 77 today and she loved the sweater jacket I got her. And that was pretty much it for today. Just have exercise class this evening. I have bean soup in the crockpot smelling good. I like it, but if it weren't for hubby, probably wouldn't make it. Alot of starchy carbs for one meal. Gotta go..

Trish- I am a stress eater, too! Big time! As for your son, I know you don't want to hear this, but he's probably going to marry her regardless of what you or anyone else says. I know, because I married at 18. I thought I knew everything. If I could go back in time and still have my kids, I wouldn't have married that young. I've had a very stressful marriage with ALOT of problems. Plus, we both came from low income families that couldn't afford to help us start out. So we've done everything ourselves, meaning we also are low-income. I got pregnant on our honeymoon, so we got married, acquired alot of bills, and then a child with more expenses. If I had to do it over, I would have waited a few years, gone to college, got a good job, saved some money. But I only know all of this from choosing the path of life I did. Of course, at the time I was oblivious to this. But this is exactly why parents don't want to see they're kids marry too young. But did I listen to mine?

TRISH: I can relate to how you feel about Jordan announcing he is getting married. My daughter married at 20, almost right out of high school, and we were really concerned. They had dated for three years, and he had been a good friend of her older brother's before they started dating. We knew him and were not too happy at the time. (he had some issues with his parent's divorce, he had gone to Navy boot camp and was medically discharged due to bad knees, though brilliant, he took five years to finish high school -he was slated for the nuclear division if he had stayed in the navy, which took a good amount of intelligence to pass tests for, but homework? He never bothered!) They have been married for a year and a half, and are doing great! He has gotten very serious about his career as a chef, and saves $$ at an incredible rate! I bet your Jordan has considered this carefully, and feels like this is the thing he has to do. He has a good steady income, and can provide for a wife. Its good you like the girl. Won't it make you happy that he won't have to be alone? He has someone who is his 'other half' in life. (how I wish MY son could find someone to marry!) Don't worry. Its hard letting them grow up, isn't it? He is going to be fine! If he made it in the Marines, he can handle being a husband! I realize its upsetting, but really, McDonalds? You don't have a death wish do you??? :D

Wow, it's Tuesday and it's already 4 pages already :( We sent my FIL to the airport this morning. We had a great time with him being here for a week instead of 1 month last year which almost drove me nuts! DD is already missing him and they were like good friends. Thank you for those of you who read my previous posts and responded to it. I did read the all the posts but couldn't reply since we were practically in and out of the house a lot or with companies. The Chinese New Year dinner last Sat was a success. Everyone enjoyed the meal and result in only a little leftovers, which is good. I invited my new next door neighbor so she could meet up with some of the neighbors I invited as well. I was glad to see how well they are seemed to connect with each other. Dh and I had a great time and I can't wait for next year CNY :)

I am going to try to catch on on this week's board but will probably reply in different posts at different time. Right now, dd is watching her fav show so I get a break. Oh, eating has been ok, not legal most of the time but whenever we eat at home, I tried to be as legal as I can except on CNY. We went out to our friend's Thai restaurant yesterday and I ate way too much white rice than I had intended to. The fish dish was too good and not to mention the sauce. Today, I had been legal so far with baked basa fish, stir-fry veges and basmati rice for lunch. Didn't had much time for breakfast except a 4 oz of orange juice. When we came back from the airport, I had the sausage and egg casserole I made this morning but didn't have time to eat. Dinner will most likely be fish, rice and another veges.

Some replies :

Debbie : Wow, 62 guests at Lauren's party? No wonder you have been busy. I am so glad everything turned out great. I hope you did manage to get sometime to yourself and do things for yourself. Yoru family is sure lucky to have a wonderful mom like you :)

Ohhh, didn't think I will only get to one reply so far. Jess just walked in and tell him that she is hungry and wants something to eat. I think she is tired too since the last few days had been fun, fun, fun and lotsa late nights for her. Today, we are back to regular schedule. I will be back after she is asleep tonight.

Hey Trish, I know I'm a stress eater also & have been doing more than my fair share these past couple of weeks. Sorry to hear about Jordan's decision to get married so young. I totally agree with you, but you know what? Our kids don't always agree with us & ALL TOOOOOO often just exactly what they want to regardless of how we parents feel about it. Sorry girl! My youngest is about to turm 29 & is giving my headaches, heartburn, you name it...LOL but I can't make her decisions. I am however trying very hard to learn to live with her decisions, as much as I don't like them. :D

Jenn, so sorry that you have been having such a difficult time of things lately. Also, sorry if we added to it by sending you unwanted email. Please forgive us. Hope things get better for you soon.

Idblond, good to see you old friend! Welcome back!

vmoore, welcome to the board. Glad you found us!

Got to get supper on. Hoping that the oven will warm me up as I have been freezing all day!

Hey Ladies

I'm flying in and out today...I had a crappy day at school - the kids were total TURDS! Sorry moms...but yes....your kids can be total turds some days! I think I could have thrown a bomb in my room and ran today! So, I'm going sit on the chair and do nothing - just be pissed! Hope y'all had a better day than me! See y'all tomorrow!

I think a lot of the remarks come from being insecure about themselves. Your success intimidates them.
You have done something instead of sitting around crying about it. Plus you've changed yourself and they might not feel comfortable with the "new" you.
It stinks but you have to do what is best for you!
I can barely stand to eat out with one old friend. Either she tries to get me to eat and drink bad food or she make comments about how she "Deserves to eat this pizza and beer because she had such a hard day"
It was very uncomfortable and like an idiot I would have a drink I didn't want or eat bread or something stupid to make her happy. I won't do that anymore. So it's rather uncomfortable for me to eat out with them. Thankfully we've cut way back seeing them.
I tend to try on bigger clothes still. I think I like trying them on and saying "Oh gee I need a SMALLER" size LOL

SuzyB
Wow I'm sorry for your friends son. It's so sad to see little kids that are ill. I was 32 with my diagnoses. I think the youngest we've see it was 9.

Jenn
I absolutely love your attitude! "If anyone treated me different, I didn't notice, mostly because I didn't care." Love it!!
I didn't like taking the pill. I felt angry all the time.
Don't take it anymore.

Jack-K
So so sorry about the cancer :( adding you to my prayer list!

Thanks for the info on the flour Monet

Deb loved the pictures!! Congratulations to Michel also.

Fillise The grilled chicken with the salad is my favorite kind of meal yum!

Heartmom
I did the WATP 2 mile for the first time today, I usually do the one mile. Girl that was pretty much too much for me LOL
Your married life sounds like mine! I love my husband and kids but looking back kind of wish we's waited.

Welcome to the board!
After gaining back 12 pounds over the holidays I realize SB cannot be a diet, has to be a way of life!
My MIL brought me that fat free Carb countdown milk. I use it in my cereal but don't like it straight.

Trish
I'm sorry your son is stressing you out! A burger isn't a horrible cheat...as long as you isn't eat those fries! It is so difficult to watch your loved ones make those scary choices. I got married at 20 and we'll be 17 years this May. Course looking back I do a Dr. Phil...What were you thinking? :)
Just be there for him.

Idblond Welcome back!

Big snowstorm moving in here. Supposed to get like 18 inches or some gawd awful number.
I'm freezing! Only time I was warm was when I did my WATP!
Feeling great, eating great! Doing at least a mile walk every day really makes a difference!

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

BOB went to the DOC today and I've got a raging
sinus infection which is effecting both my right ear and my teeth on the right side! He gave me a 14 day supply of AUGMENTEN and let me tell you those pills are as big as my feet! I have to take two in the a.m. and two in the p.m.
He told me that the Zpac that I took just wasn't strong enough for the degree of infection that I have, so I'm probably looking forward to a big ole yeast infection after this is all over. My teeth hurt so much...not an ache, but SORE!!! He took his hands and pressed on my sinus cavity area so hard that I thought the top of my head was going to blow off! I had asked him for a big shot in the butt cheek, but he doesn't do that..he says that the shots actually only last for 6 hrs (something that I never knew before) and that it wouldn't do me any good. SO....I'll just have to be patient and wait for this to work. On a lighter note I lost 7lbs from last Thursday to Monday morning...I just didn't want to eat because I felt so bad. I can't chew because my teeth hurt, so even though I'm a hurting pup, I just might lose some more poundage! :bravo:

The International Film Festival is here this week, I missed my first movie on Sunday because of this crud, but on Thursday, we're going to a premiere of a movie about two dueling pizza parlors in Brooklin (sorry, I can't remember the name) and one of the charactors in the movie played on The Sopranos, and we're going to the cast party afterward. It's being held at an Italian eatery
where we will have beer and pizza with the cast. I'm so excited about that...THEN...on Saturday
night, we're going to see MONSTER and the rumor is that Charlise might be there. Billy Crystal is here supporting his daughters movie (she produced), but we haven't seen him running around. The theater where everything is being shown is next door to the office building where I work, and the limo's
are coming and going all day long! The word is that all the celebs that are here will be at the party that I'm going to on Thursday...I'll have to take my camera....hope it still works! Keep those fingers and toes crossed that I'm feeling better to enjoy everything!

JACKIE...the PS will be straight and upfront with you and is actually your best choice. As for your Daughters.....As I told you in my email, my DSIL
went through the same thing and the disease also runs in her family. There is a test that the girls can take to see where they are on the scale. Cathy has taken it and it's a scale from 1 to 15...she's an 11! She stays on top of everything, and they started doing mamo's on her at the tender age of 25.
It's not a bad thing for them to go ahead and have the test. Check with your
Doc about it..he can explain it in detail for you. You know that you have my love and prayers without asking...
You should email Kimmy about the treadmill.....she's a treadmillaholic! RIGHT DOWN TO THE BOOK HOLDER SO SHE CAN READ WHILE WALKING!

MISSY.... Man! Would I have liked to have been a fly on the wall when they plucked that hair! Glad to hear it wasn't anything
more serious...remember to use your DUCT TAPE!

MONET...you forgot our BIG BLUE SUPPORTER!!! Jackie
is a dyed in the wool UK FAN!! Are you feeling better?
And...how about work..you haven't said anything lately...did you quit?

CHERYL...stay warm...the weatherman says y'all are in for another big one!
We're going down to 38 during the night, but my windows are up and I'm loving the breeze!

LARA....SO GOOD TO SEE YOU HERE AGAIN!!! We've missed you terribly..but I knew you'd be back...Have you heard from or seen Nancy?

 JULIA...Glad to hear you got the FIL on the plane and on his way home.

LAURIE...sorry to hear that BOOGIE is sick...I can feel for him...HAPPY BD to your DGM...Glad she liked your sweater...

SUZY...get everyone bundled up and stay warm...I just don't think that I could handle all that snow again...I've gotten used to not having it, so when the temp dips a little, I'm complaining....

VMOORE {{{{{{{{{{{{WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE CORNER OF THE BOARD}}}}}}}
Glad to have you here..just jump right in and you'll feel like you've been here forever in no time!

SUSAN...Girlfriend...you are too busy!!! Get back here and do some posting!

Well....American Idol is on, and these people are pityful!

Gotta go

Good evening everyone. Well we had a bit of snow and ice fall yesterday. I kind of hated for my DH to go to work this evening because I know the roads would be slick. Especially when he gets off at midnight. I made a big pot of beef soup on the woodstove today. It smelled so good cooking. The treadmill looms over me each day and I just can't get on it. Sure miss the weather when I could walk outside. Going to have to work on a mind set for that. Sorry I'm not replying to all. But everyone have a nice evening...

My 2nd attempt to catch up with the board :) Dd is finally asleep. She seems to have some kind of congestion, which I think is sinus. I woke her up and gave her some medicine and hope she sleeps better now. Now, on to more replies :

JackieO : I am glad you are talking with a therapist. They are also some great books out there for self-help. They helped me a lot when I had issues years back. They helped me to re-focus my mind and thoughts and also understanding on what I was facing. Definitely focus on yourself and get to know the NEW you. Oh, prayers, prayers definitely!! :)

Suzy : I have a almost 3 year old dd, so I know how exhausted they can be...lol. Every night after dd goes to sleep, I have to admit that I am relief that she is...lol.

Trishaloo : My dh used to buy back boxes of girl scouts cookies, maybe he felf compelled to help those kids, I really don't know. Next time I will tell him to buy some and send them to the troops...lol. My church serves the worst food sometimes. Every Sunday after the service, we have fellowship time at the back of the church. All the snacks were mostly, cookies, cheeses, pastry etc. The only thing that surprise me is that they also serve Triscuits.

Jack-K : I am praying for you too. {{{hugs}}}. My MIL is few times breast cancer survivor. She went thru her chemo etc last year.

Monet : I agree that the media has definitely exaggerated the whole weather forecast for the last few days. They really got me worried for a while. I am glad we didn't have much icy condition to deal with. I hope your lab results come out good.

Countrymom : I love greens too. If I don't eat them every meal, I feel strange :) Veges cravings are definitely a good one :)

Gator : WTG on that 2 lbs loss. I like your menu...lobster in "pink" sauce :) Do you cook for every meals?

Vmoore : Welcome to the board!! I am from GA too, just Fayetteville. This is an awesome board and you will like it here. I just wish I have time to come here more often. I look forward to know you. I am pre-diabetic and my dr introduced me to SB as well. I am just so glad he did instead of ADA diet. I just had my AIC test few weeks ago and it came back within the non-diabetic range and extremely pleased. So is my dr and he said that I might be able to avoid being diabetic if I continue to do what I am doing. It is sure nice to hear him said that. I am not exercise much either....bad bad...need to motivate each other :)

Sef : Eek...$600+ loss in meats? I sure feel the pain.

Teensybean : Dh and I really like Agave and I am about to make my first online order from GloryBee which Debbie posted long time ago. Enjoy!

Debbie : Congrats on Michael's Silver Key Award. What a joy!

Pancho : I don't remember dd ever slept late, just maybe by an hour from her usual wake up time. Even when she slept late, she would still wake up at the same time...gerr..lol. LOL....hope you manage to convince your dh to get the Ab Scissor.

Fillise : I bought the Thomas WW bagel yesterday too but have not try it yet. That is definitely a good addition to my breakfast menu. It is not like the real bagel but a good compromise, IMO.

Trishaloo : I can understand your frustration and worries for your son's decision. I would too. Gosh, I am so glad dd is less than 3 years old now :) Just be therefor them when they need you and hopefully they won't do too bad.

Got to go and power-clean the kitchen before dh comes home...lol. One more page to catch up :)

Good Morning Everyone:yawn:

And I do mean morning! I've been awake since before 2:30am, just woke up and can't seem to go back to sleep, so what better way to try to bide my time but to try and get some type of post on the board.

I actually tried to get one done last night. Begged MICHAEL to let me at least download what was on the board on to disk to be able to use the laptop for replies, which he complied. When I went on the laptop, there was nothing on the disk even though I saw the transfering of data when I downloaded the posts on the board to disk, so I don't know what the heck happened there. Of course, my wonderful son wouldn't allow me back on the computer to try it again, so I was screwed.

Been so tired lately. Moday night I was in bed by 8pm. Last night by 10pm. Guess that's good considering I'm up now! My eyes are burning, but I'm up - well, sorta - brain is a bit foggy too:shrug:

Ran around with DM yesterday, nothing exciting, just nice to spend some time with her.

MICHAEL still doesn't know a whole lot about this award, but did find out that the award ceremony was LAST weekend, so he missed that. I don't think he gets any type of monetary award. Still trying to find out a bit more about it.

ELI is off today so we may try to go up to Broward early because I have to get back here early to make sure I'm at the school right as the kids get out. MICHAEL has his Harvard interview at 3:30pm in Coconut Grove, a bit north of where we are, so I have to make sure I get him there on time, then go ALL the way back towards the school to drop LAUREN off at the gym and a meeting, go home, and then come back an hour later to pick her up. MICHAEL had his Princeton interview on Monday and his Cornell interview on Sunday. He's still waiting for the guy to call him for his Yale interview, and Wash U in St. Louis called yesterday so he can coordinate his date to go visit there. So far, he feels they've gone well:)

So, it's almost 3:30am, going to try an get in a few replies before I try to go back to sleep for a little bit...

FILLISE, sounds like you had a might fine salad there. I love salad, just hate to make them, but then again, I hate to make anything. Last night I had a brisket to make and asked DM to make it before she left - it was to die for! If I had made it, you'd probably die trying to eat it!:rolf: If we can work it out to meet with you after FRUITS, you'll have to bring one of those bagels to try - do they taste good? Only if they do, would love to try - haven't seen those!

TEENSY, hope your DA is doing better. What happened is terrible. Did they not know it at the time that they nipped her? What kind of problems did she have besides having to have unexpected surgery from that happening? I have to get one, colon cancer runs in my family, but I keep putting it off, as I have my mam and gyn and a gen. dr. visit:shrug: Hope the fudge demon is history - it's manageable to get rid of it if it's just once a week, harder as it gets more prevalent - nip it in the bud, you CAN do it!!! As for the agave, you use less of it than sugar. It's not always easy to convert a recipe that uses sugar to agave, but if you find recipes using honey, then you sub. 1-4-1, sugar, about half, but you may have to play around with a recipe to find the best way for you. I'd DEFINITELY start out with trying the cheesecake recipe - it's the best, that is, if you like cheesecake!

JACKK, resent the pics - were you able to see them? How is stopping the PT going to affect you? Have you made any type of decisions yet? Continuing to send good thoughts and prayers your way.

PANCHO, I just LOVE the chili at Wendy's these days - something new I've been eating, but I've never heard that they have it with added onions and cheese - is this something they offer, or that you just request it as such? What the heck is Slim in Six?

HEART, how's BOOGIE feeling today? What did the Dr. say? HB to your GM!!

FRUIT, if the Dr. thinks you are a complete nut, I can just IMAGINE that you are reserved with him and all **** is going to break loose in a few weeks!!!!:s: No pics of me because I was behind the camera the entire time. Besides, who wants to see me!! You have come to know me well - yes, the prices were reasonable for her party $14.95 a person, all inclusive, no tipping - food, cake, dj, place, table coverings, chair coverings, servers, soda - all for $14.95 a person:D Will be seeing you in just over 3 weeks - can you believe?????????

VMOORE, [imghttp://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg[/img] Glad you've decided to join us! Sounds like you are doing an awesome job on SB so far - CONGRATS:cp: Yes, we are very close on this board, but as you can see, we always have open arms for newcomers and we welcome you as such. If you don't already feel like you belong, you will! Many of us have met in person, as we are doing again in just a little over 3 weeks at FRUITS house in LA. I've seen that new milk but haven't tried it - wish they had some samples to try at the grocery store. Thanks for sharing a bit more about yourself. If you want, we have a BIO BOARD where you can do even moreso, which will let us learn even more about you - which we love. Sounds like SB is not only helping you lose weight, but doing good things in other ways!!!

TONI, glad you got the e-mail - thought maybe it was something that would interest DH. Really have to thank BOB for showing me that sight. I got MICHAEL a sub. to Rolling Stones.

SEF, you have NO idea how many times we've found the freezer door outside open and thing thawed. I try to save what I can. Usually, it's MICHAEL who does this, though sometimes I'll find the circuit blew and it's off on it's own, but when it was MICHAEL and I threatened after the 3rd time of it happening that I would make him pay for the food, he got better and it doesn't happen like it had, thankfully so. Sorry you had to throw away so much - you should of cooked it all if it was saveable, then throw a party:)

JACKIEO, can't wait to see you in a few weeks! You'll find the patience with those last few pounds, you have to, your body is going to take longer but in the long run, it's the best way. It took me from Feb to June to lose the last 10. I know it's like you see the finish line ahead, but then realize you are looking through binoculars and it's farther away than you thought - trust me, it will go faster than you think.

WOOD, hope the scales bring you smiles today - before you know it you'll be in new territory, in the teens:D

TRISH, OMG, I'd of joined you at McD's - of course, it would of only been for an ice cream cone, but heck, I'd of joined. What the heck is the hurry for them to get engaged and married so soon. Have you spoken to her parents? Wonder how they feel about it. Rant all you want - we're sure to have a rant and *****fest at FRUITS in a few weeks - bring your *****wear!

LDBLOND, glad to see you back and with a renewed vigor and attitude. I don't give up on people too easily. Wish NANCE would come back, but I think she gave up on herself, I never did:shrug: Ever hear from her?

JENN, can't say I've had those experiences that were caused by BC pills as I don't take them, haven't in over 20 years, but I don't need them to cause me to be like that - I get like that, more *****ey and irritated easily because of hormones, at least I try to blame most of those episodes from hormones. Talk to your Dr. - nothing ventured, nothing gained. That's what he's there for.

SUZY, glad to hear school is going well - still waiting to see some of your photography:) MICHAEL has photoshop and had to show me how to do some basics - I feel so stupid trying to figure it out on my own. Haven't been on the board so much so didn't know TALITHA hadn't been on - just e-mailed her to let her know she's been missed.

KEN, that was so sweet of you to invite new neighbors to meet old - wish more people did stuff like that - at least in Miami, it's rare I think. I don't like Chinese food, but do like Thai - haven't been in a long time, but now that you mentioned it, maybe we can go for lunch one day. Wonder if they offer brown rice?

CHERYL, I pity you and the rest of the board and the people I know who have to deal with this terrible weather. My cousin who lives in Bethesda, MD wrote an e-mail that had me laughing, he said "We are snowed in with 8 inches.* It's the only eight inches my wife can get!" It had me ROLFLMAO!:rolf:

BOB, CONGRATS on the loss, though not the way you should lose it, heck, take it whatever way you can. I have an imagine of QUIZIMODO when I think of how you may look:s: Hope you feel better soon! REALLY SOON, like before 3 weeks SOON! I'm dying to see MONSTER - LMK if you see it!

Whoa, it seems I'm caught up. If I missed anyone, it's not intentional, blame it on my foggy brain.

Going to try and go back to sleep for and hour and a half - doubt it will happen, but will try.

Will try to check in later - whoops, almost forgot it was WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY! Good luck to all of you who will brave the scales today!!!

Well the snowstorm turned out to be just a dusting. I can't believe all the media hype over this - the way the weather forecasters were predicting, you would have thought we were going to be stuck in the house with at least a foot or more of snow. Unbelievable . . . or maybe I should say believable - it always turns out this way. And then when a dusting is predicted, they'll all of a sudden upgrade it when you are already at school/work or on the road to a major storm. Whatever. Now DH will have the day to himself since there will be school and perhaps some of those "things" around the house will get done. :^:

BOB - Sorry to hear about your sinus infection. I use to get them ALL the time. At one point I had one once a month, which just happen to coincide with my TOM. My doctor chaulked it up to hormones, but they were still very, very painful. I am now on a daily prescribed decongestant, which helps with the infections, but I still get the pressure in my teeth and head from time to time. I don't know if your up for this, but sometimes I would be the heating pad on my face and it would help to break everything up. I feel your pain and hope you feel better soon . . .

Okay - since I can't use the snow for excuse I need to get my butt in the shower and onto work. I'll check in later . . . hope all is well.

Good Weigh-in-Wednesday everyone (or is it???). I was at 121# this morning, so I'm pretty happy with that. I have been to the gym twice this week (Mon & today) and hope to go tomorrow and Saturday.

I have been doing better with my eating. Yesterday:
BF: Blue Bunny Lite yogurt with flax meal and nuts
Snack: 2 legal cookies
Lunch: Schlotzky's low-carb wrap with turkey club
Snack: Broccoli with ranch
Snack: Applie
Dinner: Chicken Caesar Salad (no croutons)

Today so far:

BF: I slice SGWW toast with peanut butter
Snack: handful of almonds
Snack: Blue Bunny Lite yogurt with flax meal

The party for my Mom's Club went really well last night. I got to the 99cent store and they had a lot of little cute valentine stuff out that I was able to get for door prizes.

I didn't sleep worth crap last night. I got home around 9:30, and went to bed at 10:30, but was still up after 11:30. It seems that I think about EVERYTHING once I lay down to sleep, and can't seem to clear my head to sleep. I got up at 3:15 to go to RR, and then up at 4 a.m. to get to gym before DH had to leave for work. I might drop Britt off at school, and see if I can get Lane down for a nap and take one myself. We'll see....I always say that and never can sleep during the day.

Anyway.....

Fillise: Those must be the bagels chrisd was talking about

Vmoore: Glad your blood sugars are dropping; that is more important than the weight loss at this point. Staying the same is always better than gaining.

Trishaloo: Best of luck to Jordan and his GF; they are going to do what they want to do regardless of what anyone thinks. I agree with you as do most of the people here about them being too young, but accepting his decision will make the transition easier for everyone. I don't know why we think we have to rush into these things. When I was 19, I moved in with my BF, convinced that I would marry him. The more my parents objected, the more I pushed to prove them wrong. Eventually, I realized what a stupid mistake I made; thankfully before marrying him. Maybe they will realize that they are rushing things a bit, and decide to put it off awhile. OR, they may go ahead with it, and be very happy together. Try to hang in there, and don't let your health suffer due to the decisions Jordan makes. You take care of YOU :) .

ldblond: Welcome back

Jenn28: I would definately encourage you to see your OB/GYN; maybe he can change the dosage or the pill you are on; it sounds as if it may be affecting your moods for sure. It may be too high/low on estrogen/progesterone....

Suzy: Glad you are enjoying your class. I wish my kids would sleep in more often; I guess they are creatures of habit. If they are used to getting up early during the week, how do they know to sleep on the weekends? We are usually up early here too. I guess eventually the long days catch up to them, and they have to catch up on any lost sleep. Glad you are not snowed in.

Ken: Glad you enjoyed your CNY, and that there are not too many leftovers to tempt you.

BOB: I hope your sinus infection clears up soon. The weight loss is a great side effect, eh? Have fun Thursday at the movie premiere, and don't gain that 7#'s back on pizza and beer ;) .

Deb: Wow, what a prestigious list of interviews set up for Michael. You are so proud, I know. I always just ask for onions and cheese on my chili at Wendy's; they used to ask you but don't anymore. Slim in Six is a program put out by Beach Body (I have some of their other tapes, and they are awesome). This is designed to be a six week program to get you into great shape. It starts gradual and works into more accelerated, and is cardio and strength training combined. I plan to use it to shake up my workouts a bit; I doubt I'll do the full six week program. It will be good to have next year when Britt is in school all day, and Lane still naps. I might actually do the full six weeks then. I also ordered a Winsor Pilates DVD that will be in any day now. I want to have some options for the days I can't get to the gym, due to sick kids, etc....

Wood: Congrats on the 2#'s; Keep up the awesome work!!

Better run!

Take care,
Nat

Okay, I’m doing this in wordperfect first, just in case:) Last week was rough. I had a Krystal’s lunch with cornpups and fries and large Coke, I bought three bags of chocolates and hoovered them, I even bought cheese puffs! So when I WIW’ed last week, I was up three lbs and disgusted with myself. But, this has been a good week all around.

First of all I did something completely unrelated to SB, I got my finances together and made a budget with my adopted brother/housemate Vince. He has offered for years to help me straighten out my act and get debt free, but I resisted it. Money has always had weird control issues with me. But, I have 7000 dollars in CC debt while making a decent salary and I’m tired of having it. I am not good with money and he is, his grandmother was a banker for forty years, so I said what the ****. Trusted him with all those goofy little financial things that I was afraid he would look down on me for. And of course he didn’t, he worked out a budget, had me pay off “the vultures” (check advance centers that charge high interest) in one swoop, called my credit card people with me and explained what we were doing. Two of them have special plans to help people get back into good standing when they are behind!! And he insisted that we run our errands together when he found out that I needed to renew my registration, so I wouldn’t get pulled over before I got it. (Which I did, with him, while we did our Monday errands. It’s nice to have someone looking out for me, occasionally. Makes me feel loved).

So, today I’m doing something else radical. I’m accepting a free workout at Curves and if I like it, I’m going to join. It sounds like what I’m looking for, women owned and operated, supportive enviroment..they call the spots between machines “recovery stations”. I had to laugh, it was so honest. They have fans and stuff there:) So I may start posting on the exercise board at long last. AND, I’ve lost the weight I gained, plus three lbs this week, so I’m down to 447. YAY!!

JENN: When my doctor put me on BC, she had me on progesterone first to kick start my period. I thought I was losing my mind. Literally. Half way through it, I was holed up in my house, grumpy and weepy and convinced no one loved me, and it was the hormones. I’d never had PMS before and this was like PMS from ****.

VMOORE: Welcome to SB!! This is a great WOE and these are great ladies. I hope you are happy here!!

SEF: arggh!! Losing a whole freezer like that is horrible. I’m so sorry to hear about it.

DEB: Your kids are amazing, and you are pretty much Supermom!!

ldblond: WELCOME BACK!! It’s hard to get back on the wagon, but I just did it too. Wanna borrow my duck tape?? (quack)

Everyone else, I hugs ya and I’ll talk to you later!!!

Just got in from work, and I am exhausted. We had a meeting for the department last night from 10pm to 11pm, when it was quiet, and I did not get home until after 11:30. I crawled in bed at about 11:45, and had to get up at 6. I was almost late for work and have felt out of sorts all day. Work was ok, though I did not feel like I accomplished much. I will probably get in trouble for forgetting to clean out the electric pot too. Oh well! I was starving when I walked in the door and NOTHING looked appealling. I finally settled for a string cheese and a cup of tea and will make an attempt to find something decent in a few minutes. Then its off to the dentist, then small group. I need to nap or something, but that isn't going to happen. Sigh....
Laura and her friends got out of class early today and are all in her room, playing with the devil kitten, reading Spanish out loud and chatting. No, I will probably not get a nap in today.

I will be back later, I hope! James just got here and I ought to go talk to him some.

WIW brings some weight loss, but I attribute that only to water @ 172.5 lbs. today.

Spray man comes soon, so some short replies and off to pick up around the house and yard.

Jack-K: I loved your quote to VMoore "You know it works, just gotta do it!" Thanks for the positive reinforcement.

BOB: Feel better soon. As for Nancy I saw her once at Starbucks, but she didn't say too much. Unfortunately, I've had no other contact with her and it's not that I haven't tried :( She's a good lady, just has a full plate.

Deb: Thanks for not giving up on me. Sounds like Michael is continuing to do wonderfully in school! I'm sure he can do whatever he puts his mind to. As for Nancy, see my response to BOB.

I'm off to pick-up, but will check in later.

7 pounds is fantastic! at least something good is coming from all the pain.
When I smoked I had constant painful sinus infections. The only thing that helped was if I took a a pill with Guaifenesin in it it kept me clear so the sinus drip did not turn into infection.

Toni
Get your hinny on that treadmill! Just jump on before you shower for 10 minutes a day to start getting in the habit. I started to do the WATP DVD for 25 minutes a day and made it a priority. It's been a couple weeks now and I've moved up to the 2 mile and it has made me feel so much better.
Make it important, like brushing your teeth every day.

SuzyB
We got about 6-8 inches here. But this is supposed to be New England so we should be used to it?? They made a big deal here too. Half school day yesterday, no school today *sigh*

Woodfrog
You loser! Wahoo!

Arcayne
Wow you sure went nuts this week! It's amazing how we put things off because we think it it's so impossible to ever do it. Then when we finally do it is such a great feeling!
My cousin and aunt did Curves and really liked it. Congratulations on the 3 pounds :)

I had problems sleeping the past few nights because the incoming snow messes with the barometer so my hands really start hurting with the burning tingling from the neuropathy and it makes it hard to sleep. But the WATP is really helping my joints and knees not hurt!
Well I weighed myself yesterday and was 207 but this morning was back at 210. When I start doing that wavering weight it means I'm getting ready to drop some pounds. So I can't say I lost this week but know I will for next WW.
I have really been focusing on exercise and portion size and am being legal so I'm feeling GOOD!

See if you get a fun toy the men will take care of the snow!

Arcayne--Nice to see you back. I commend you so much for taking some action on your finances. My DH does financial counseling (how to get your mess in order) on the side when people in our church need it. He also teaches a Crown Ministries course, which is fabulous is you are looking for some background support for taking those steps to get out of debt and handle lots of other financial stuff (work, a will, how to find contentment even if you are not rich, etc.). He loves teaching that class because he says people's lives really change as a result of what they learn. Good luck to you and your "new life."

All you Yankees-- :) I hope you are staying warm and cozy. I'm glad to see that the storm wasn't as bad as they were predicting. Only 2 more months and warm weather will be around the corner.

Yesterday I was just dragging by 4 pm. I left for campus at 8:30 and didn't get home until 3:30. I think my brain was fried. I just wanted some "comfort food" and so my DH took me out to a reasonably prices restaurant where I got a small, thin crust pizza. Off plan, I know. Even the cheese is something that I'm not supposed to have right now because of food sensitivites, but it was good and I didn't feel bad about eating it. In fact, I had a couple pieces of the left overs for breakfast.
Back on plan now with fish and spinach and tomatoes for lunch.

Well, gotta go. Have an e-mail that just came in.

Will try to hop on later - just got home after going out to lunch with ELI and his DD. Went to ME restaurant, haven't been in a while, they wondered what happened to us, not that we go all to often.

Have to run to the school and get a good parking space so I can get the kids and get to MICHAEL'S interview on time, then drop LAUREN off, come rest for a couple hours and go back to get her - 99,400+miles and counting!!!!!

Happy WIW,

Went to the plastic surgeon this morning. He litterally scared the **** out of me. I guess theyahve to tell you everything that can go wrong. Talked to a lady that had it done, a year later, but byt he same surgeon and she was very positive about it. She depressed me when she got into the chemo part. I guess I haven't thought that far ahead.

WIW found me down 1 pnd. I can sayit's probably b/c I have no appetite.

Congrats to all the losers today/

I skimmed the posts, but honestly my mind is just not in this today so excuse me for not replying to everyone,

Deb,I didn't get the pics, but my email is screwed up. I got a virus some how.

Bob, hope you get some relief soon.

Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

It's snowing again. I thought it had stopped. I even went out and ran some errands and the roads were pretty good. Oh well. Just had chinese for lunch w/ just a bit of white rice. Not too big a portion either. And drank lots of hot tea. Breakfast was my usual bacon, egg and cheese on ww toast. Had an orange for a snack. Not sure what dinner will be yet. Took a snow day from work. Haven't gotten as much done as I had hoped.
Hope that everyone else is doing well.

Good WIW everyone!

I am still at the same weight this morning....it has been so long since I have seen a loss, I am beginning to think this is where my bod wants to be. And I really don't have a big problem being here, just was hoping it would be a few less. I did take my measurement since I forgot on the 24th. I have lost another inch, so I am still shrinking, ha ha.

Went to the hospital to see my DA, and she really didn't look very good. This is a very serious thing. They will not feed her anythng or give her anything to drink for 5 days. They are giving her nutrients in her IV.Nothing is working inside her. After the 5 days they hope to start hearing some noises in her stomach and bowels, and will then start her with water and liquids. Then progress from there, I think that is why they said at least 10 days in there. She is very sick to her stomach, and just plain nauseated. I sure hope she gets to feeling better. Her daughter and son will be here this weekend.

Deb-- With all of the running around and planning that you have been doing, I am sure your batteries are just plain run down. You need a few days to recharge. You have been very busy physically and mentally for the last couple of weeks. That is just too bad that Michael didn't find out about the award in time to enjoy his moment of glory. I wonder why no one let him know in time?? My Aunt had been having some problems with blood in her stools. It was internal bleeding, which they thought was just from some hemorrhoids. They did not know that they had nipped her when they sent her home. The same doctor that did the first procedure, did the surgery to sew up the cut.

Suzy-- That is the way it always ends up here to. Get ready for a big storm, and nothing happens.....but expect 1 or 2 inches and it can turn into a major blizzard.

Wood-- WooHoo!! You go girl......2 pounds is great!! Wow, 10 inches of snow!! Glad it is you this time and not us!! Ha ha.

Vmoore-- You are doing great....12 pounds is fantastic. We didn't get this way in a couple of weeks, so of course it will take longer than a couple to get rid of it. Just keep doing what you are, and you will do great!

Pancho-- Hope you can sneak in a nap later.....don't need to have you getting sick, from being run down. When we had the tavern, I always had trouble falling to sleep. You just can't seem to shut down the brain when you want to sleep. I was always wondering who wouldn't show up or what deliveries might get screwed up, or....... you get the point!

Arcayne-- Good for you! Sometimes we just need a helping hand to help us along. Everyone that I know personally LOVES Curves. I truly wish we had one close, but we live out in the boonies, so I am not driving 70 miles round trip just for a work out. So I do mine at home.....but I love working out, and I think you might really enjoy the supportive atmosphere. Good luck to you, and a big HIGH FIVE ON THE LOSS!! :high:

Monet-- Isn't that an odd time to have department meetings?? I could never make it into town at that time. I'd fall asleep at the wheel!! Hope you too can grab a nap, maybe the girls will find something else to do that will allow you to grab 40 winks.

Id- Pounds is pounds!! LOL. Good for you!!

Cheryl-- Hope your hands will start feeling better. My dh is bothered with OA in his hands. So he has quite a bit of pain at times. Here's to next WIW, may the woosh fairy find you!!

Gator-- Life is life....so we have to live sometimes. I don't think a planned food vacation every once in awhile is going to hurt much. You got right back on plan and that is what counts. Good for you!!

BOB-- Sorry to hear you aren't feeling too perky. I used to have sinus infections constantly. Since I quit smoking, and got all the sugar out of my body, I haven't had one for over 3 years!! Hope you will feel better soon. Please get some rest and take it easy.

Jack-k-- I wish there was something I could do to help you get through this scary ordeal. Know that my thoughts and prayers are with you. My dad went through the chemo ordeal, and it is not a pleasant thing, but can really help. ((((HUGS))))

Will see all of you SBer's later......

Hi:

I thought I'd pop in while Britt is at school and Lane is napping. I s/b napping too, but can't during the day. It is hard enough to sleep during the day, but what if I overslept and was late picking up Britt...she wouldn't be too pleased.

Anyway, not much new here. It is overcast and looks like it might rain soon....I'm crossing my fingers; we could really use the rain.

Arcayne: Way to get those finances in order. I was 24 when I met my husband; he was a financial advisor, and I was a spender. I was so embarrassed to show him my finances when we met....I was sure he'd dump me when he saw I was paying $380 per month for my little sporty car. I had some debt, but not too bad. We were able to get it paid off before the wedding. I hope you enjoy your workout at Curves, and are able to join; you would feel better getting that workout in.

Gator: You are so strict with your eating; I am glad that you enjoyed your pizza guilt free.

Jack-K: I am sure that meeting with the surgeon was a lot to digest right now. I know you are anxious to get the show on the road, and so much to take in at once. Have you found any support boards out there for women with breast cancer? I am sure you could find a lot of information there. Best of luck to you throughout these next few weeks/months.

Well, I hope you all have a good day, and I will check in tomorrow a.m.

Take care,
Nat

Hey, guys. Not much going on here. Congrats to all you losers. Unfortunately, I wasn't one of them. I gained a pound, but I knew I would be up considering my binge this weekend. I have just been feeling so BLAH lately...no energy. They need to make a get up and go pill, lol. Guys beware of this computer virus going around. HiedieHo All!

I hate it when I miss getting on the Board! There's 10,000 posts put up and I have to try to catch up! Just busy yesterday with NH, Dr appt, (I was up 3#!) cleaning freezer, entertaining at another NH, and then tired so sat and stitched all night. I got wrapped in old Ann Miller movies. Yeah, I know youngsters....who's Ann Miller?

Today I had HFH business to tend to, then went through some music looking for love and partiotic songs for next month.
Not difficult, just time consuming.

TEENSY: When the kids were growing up, and family lived closer, everyone seemed to congregate at our house for meals (they slept at mu MIL's. We had two freezers too; one for just meats, poultry, fish, the other fruits, vegs, ice cream, bread (in the good old days when I made my own!) We used to but 1 quarter too, other meats by the case. It adds up without thinking about it!

TRISH: I'm only considered to be half a great Mom so don't know if I should give advice, but saying that........when our kids reach a certain age they fly the coop, all we can hope is we gave them good aviating skills. The more you set yourself against his decision the more he'll dig his heels in. So having said your piece, you either have to support him or cause a rift. Apparently they are both good kids and have a good example in their parents, so they will survive. If they don't the worse is "I told you so!" Knowing me, being upset I would have had two big macs!!

LDBLOND: Nice to have you back. Many of us have fallen along the way, some have to start totally over, others just have to retrace a few steps. Altho I don't have to start totally over, I have more than a few steps to retrace. I keep saying I will do it but am having a difficult time of it. A lot is emotional I know. But the wonderful people here don't give up on us and won't let us give up on ourselves. So here's to becoming the best we can be!

BOB: Do you always do things the hard way? Hope you feel better and can enjoy the film fest.

Well, I just flew through the posts. Have to get ready for choir practice. So will say good night!

Take care, Shirley

I have a few questions for you all. I cant find my little grocery book and dont know how many triscuts are legal. Also, what about wheat thins? Are those legal? Im thinking no but am hoping...lol ;) Ive seen a few of you mention Wendys chili...that is legal? Im trying so hard to be strict right now for my health.
Arcayne..Im new here but felt compelled to share with you. My hubby and I were in cc dept to the tune of $7,800 at one time. We have just as of November of 2003 paid off every credit card!!!! Its sooo hard to do when your use to getting what you want. If you havent already, cut them up and cancel the account. That was the first thing we did, then we starting paying them off. We actually now live off of what we make. It took what seemed liked forever but the end result is no more harrassing phone calls, dept collectors, and daily ulcers building trying to figure out how to juggle it all. Best of all, we have more money now!!!!!!! We actually for the first time in 15 years have a savings account!!!! Now your on the road to the same thing and its a great view from here. Keep on keeping on. :D

VMoore - Yes, Triscuits are legal, but not wheat thins. Look at the box for the serving size - but I believe the reduced fat variety is 7 triscuits per serving. If I remember correctly, b/c I havent' bought them in a while, but the thin french onion variety is 14 crackers per serving - which seems like a lot. I usually just have four to five in one serving . . . unless of course I am stressing, then I usually eat about 10 to 14! Can't help you on the chili, but I think Pancho just posted something about Wendy's chili, so you may want to go back and reread. Otherwise, I am sure someone will post about it to answer your questions.

Good luck . . .

Hey!

I just wanted to say hello and post to a few of you! Hope you all had a great day - mine was better than yesterday!

LDBLOND: WELCOME BACK! I was so happy to see you post! We missed you! I can't wait to catch up!

JACK-K: I talked to my friend today that I told you about. She didn't have the reconstructive surgery because her cancer was in her lymph nodes. She had to go through the radiation first. She did mention that a friend of hers did have it done and now she has no control of her stomach - there are no muscles there. She can't even mop her floors because it hurts her stomach so badly. I asked her if she would mind if I gave your her e-mail and she said to definitely give it to you that way if you have any questions you could e-mail her directly. She just went through all the chemo and radiation last year. So, I'll e-mail you with her name and address. The one thing I have to say about her is that she was always strong. She has become my idol because she has been through the ringer and you would have never known it- you never saw her in a bad mood, depressed, etc. She has an unwaivering faith. She came to work each day with her head held high, she talked about it - it wasn't hush hush around her, and she put all of her energy into her job and getting better. So, keep your chin up, your faith strong, and don't let this get the best of you! You can be a success just like her! So, be looking for my e-mail - please feel free to contact her - she is absolutely wonderful!

DEB: I know...I can't believe that we will finally meet after 3 years! haha! I can't wait! I do have a question....on the Monday of my parade I leave the house at 8 that morning. I'm in the process of trying to plan activities for y'all that day eventhough I won't be there. Question: Do you want me to plan stuff or do y'all just want to hang around here, play games, visit, drink, etc.? Let me know! I just don't want y'all to be bored while I'm not there and feel like you are stuck at home. I leave at 8 that morning and the parade is at 7 that night - so that is a long day - I won't see y'all until after the parade when y'all pick me up (except for when I pass by y'all crazy people in the parade!) Ok - that's all!! I can't wait! woohoo!

Hello to everyone else! I'm going to bed!

Hey guys. Well, I survived yesterday with no more indiscretions and am much better today. My Marine Mom support board rallied around and we had a great online chat last night. I always feel better after I "talk" to them. Just like this board, it's great having people that really understand what you're going through. At any rate, we're doing what most of you have suggested. We're telling him how we feel in a mature adult way (after all, he's supposed to ba mature adult right?) but also letting him know that it is his decision, and we'll still love both of them no matter what. She is a sweet girl and we love her. They've been friends for a long time which is definitely something to build on. Her parents are all for it and are caught up in the romance of it all. Of course, I myself am praying that as soon as this phase of training is up that they put him on a plane for Okinawa! All, I can say is Nat and the rest of you that have small kids, lock them up until they're 40!

Gotta run, but I just wanted to tell you guys thanks for the support while I was having my meltdown yesterday.

Hi Everyone - This will be a quickie because I am determined NOT to be late for work today. How funny it was last week when I flew to Staples before work to get my camera that not only did I get to the store before it opened, but I made it to work about 30 minutes early! Amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it, huh? If only I could put that philosophy to other things in my life  I forgot to mention my WIW yesterday - not to panic though - no exciting news, it was the same 120 lbs. I actually think at one point it may have been 119, b/c I get on and off about 6 times in one weigh-in, but the other 5 read 120, so I am the same. Frustrating, but gratifying at the same time - anything is better and an unexpected gain. Okay, I'm outta here . . . will try and check in later. I have a Relay for Life meeting tonight (which I will explain more in my next post for those of you who are unfamiliar with Relay) and will hopefully not be too tired when I get home. Have a great day! :D

Good morning,
At least it isn't snowing here! It's not supposed to warm up, but it should feel a little warmer. I shoveled off the back deck and worked up a good sweat! I picked up new boots last night and those should help while I'm outside later this morning.
Has anyone else tried the new low-carb menu items at Ruby Tuesday? I had the low-carb chicken fajitas last night and they were actually quite tasty. They also have quite a few wraps that look interesting.
Did 3 miles on the treadmill last night after we got back from the mall. I've feeling a renewed sense of urgency with this weight loss thing. I'd really like to drop another 22.5 pounds and be at 200 or less when we go on vacation this summer. I won't be skinny, but it'll make me feel better at my kids high school graduation too. I'll be back at the gym after work today.
Breakfast this morning was my usual egg and cheese on WW toast.

Trishaloo - I got married at 20, had my 2 kids, and we split up after 7 years. I hope that your son makes whatever choice is best for him. Since they've been friends, it should help immensely. Good luck with whatver happens.

To everyone else, have a great day, stay OP, and get some exercise in somehow!

Good morning:

All is well here! I got a much better night's rest last night and feel ready to handle the day. I hope to get to the gym while Britt is in school, but that all depends on Lane. My right ear has been aching the past few days off & on; I've never had an ear or sinus infection before so I don't know what it is. I'll give it a few days...it's not so painful that I can't concentrate or anything.

I just had a bowl of Cheerios w/ Uncle Sam & frozen blueberries/skim milk, and it was really good. The portion size was probably too big though. Baby steps....

I am in the process of trying to buy some snow pants & snow boots for Britt and Lane on E-bay. I have a few bids in. We are going to go play in the snow in February. There are no more snow boots in any of the stores around here. It seems like after the Holidays, they start clearing out all the Winter stuff and start stocking up for Spring/Summer. I should have taken advantage of those after Christmas sales everywhere.

Vmoore: I believe a SB serving size of Triscuits is 4; the box says 7, but I think the book says 3-4. I usually have 6 per serving. Wheat Thins are made with enriched flour, so they are not allowed. Wendy's chili is legal, and is delicious. It makes a good meal with a side salad too. There are a few grams of sugars in the chili, but they are natural sugars from the tomatoes, beans, etc....

Trishaloo: Sounds like a great approach to take; Jordan will appreciate the honesty & sincerity, and hopefully will make him step back and take a look at things. I'd love to lock these little ones up; I can't imagine ever letting them out of the nest.....Mama Hen here is so protective.

Wood: I haven't been to Ruby Tuesdays in ages, but am so glad that there are so many options out there now!

Well, Lane is getting hungry. I better go feed her some breakfast, and get some stuff done around here.

Take care,
Nat

Good Morning,

Today is a better day mentally. I don't trust much of what I do, mind is not totally into anything. Don't know if I told you or not, but my surgery is next Thursday at 11:00. So pray extra hard for me then.

My back is bothering me not so much that I couldn't stand it, but I'm afraid with laying in bed for so long I might make it worse, so I am going to get another epidural today.

I walked a mile on the :tread: last night. I have shin splints in my right leg. I was down another pound this morning. The thought of food just makes me ill. Hope this lasts for awhile  I may get to my goal before I know it.

Heartmom, I think I had that virus. I downloaded a patch for it today. Suposedly, it doesn't di anything until Feb 1-12. Hang in there, you should see a loss next week.

Country, one by one, they will come off. Congrats and keep on keeping on.

Sef, you are one busy lady and I get tired just reading all you do. Have a good one.

Trish, support groups are wonderful. I sure know I couldn't do without this one. I wish I could lock mine up forever, even though I love my SIL.

Suzy, I always get off and on the scale 3 or 4 times to get a good wt.

Woodfrogs, 3 miles on the :tread: is great. I did 1 mile and I have shin splints too\day.

Teensy, inches are a good thing. Better than that number onthe scale. Hope your DA gets better soon. That whole ordeal is scarry.

Pancho, I haven't really had time to look for a support board. Too many other things to get in order first. I hope to though.

Fruit, I am a strong persone, have great faith and am very open about all this. I will be fine. thanks for the info about your friend. Will watch for your email.

Deb, try to send those pics again if you can.

Bob, Hope you are feeling better today.

Ashley:

Have lots to do today so better get busy.

Probably won't be back until tomorrow. Have a great day.

Good Morning all,

Not much going on today. I cleaned house yesterday, so I will just putter around today. It has been raining, so some of our snow is melting away. I think we probably still have a foot on the ground.

Eating has been good so far this week. And I have managed 4 days of exercise so far. Tomorrow is lower body again, so will get all 5 days in this week. The arm is still a bit sore, but did the upper body workout with no trouble this week. Just took it easy, and didn't push on the one that makes the arm hurt.

I found a recipe on the board for Pumpkin Cake that I tried for this weekend. Saturday is my Bday, so thought I would make something legal. It called for soy flour, but I used WW Pastry flour instead. I also left out 1/4 c of oil and added one egg. Hope it will taste okay. I was thinking this would be really good with applesauce instead of pumpkin. Maybe I will try that someday. I am going to make a cream cheese frosting for it.

Suzy-- Have a great day today!! Staying the same is a whole lot better than a gain!!

Woods--With all that shoveling and walking on the TM you will be dropping the pounds like crazy!! WTG!

Pancho--There is nothing worse than an ear ache, IMO. Well, maybe a toothache!! But they are both painful, and I am sorry you are having to deal with one. Where are you going to play in the snow?? We have lots, come on up!!

Jack-k-- Please take good care of yourself. You don't need to wear yourself out before your surgery. I wil be praying for you. Maybe the laying in bed will help the back some, giving it a rest. Sure hope so.

Well, that's it for now......

Hello. Just popping in. Got up this morning and had a serving of Fiber One with 2 % CCmilk, and an orange. Then took my lazy butt back to bed! Anyway, went to a couple thrift stores. Nothing really exciting. Got Dh a couple shirts, Boogie a couple shirts, one was a button-down Old navy shirt for 50 cents, a Bob the Builder toy for a buck, a black purse for 50 cents, and a glass Anchor Hocking dish for a buck. I only had a few dollars, so we went to Wendy's and hit up the 99 cent menu. I had a small chili, and 1/2 a side salad(wasn't too cranky about it). I was still hungry when I got home so I made a ham and cheese sandwich. I'm making chili for supper tonight. I got a craving, lol. My eating today is a little too much on the starches, oh well. I have exercise class this evening, hopefully, it will be a good workout. Anyone try those Crest Whitestrips for night? I had tried the regular when they came out last year, but you gotta use them twice a day, so that didn't work for me,lol. The one's for night are suppossed to be just before you go to bed. I think I could remember that, maybe. When I was a teenager, I had the whitest teeth, now they are stained. I think I have a pretty smile, but my teeth are yellow now. Okay, enough about teeth. Well, I have laundry calling me..my least favorite chore.

Working on getting real names with nicknames. Figure after almost 2 years it's time :)

Colleen (Teensybean)
Hey taking off those inches is awesome!!

Nat (Pancho)
I know what you mean about sleeping during the day! I have done that and been late picking up my 10 year old!
You should be able to by boots at LL Bean, Lands End or Cabella's online still.

Crystle (Countrymom)
I still have 10 of those darn holiday pounds dogging me too!

Vmoore
Congrats for cutting up those cards and living debt free! We live off cash because I am a shopaholic and cannot be responsible with credit. My DH is not much better! So we do cash or the Visa debit cards cause if it ain't there you can't spend it!
The only one I owe money to is my mom cause when we are out together I rarely have cash so I tend to run up a tab then I just give her a check like once a week for whatever I spent. I seem to spend less money this way when I have to ask her to pay for it.

And don't worry about asking questions we were all newbies at one time!
No clue about the picolinate. Maybe it raises the insulin levels?

Barbara (woodfrogs)
I feel like you with getting down and dirty with these pounds! I lost 35 pounds last year and kept it off (except for the holidays). So I'll be good when I get to to maintaining goal but I need to drop another 70 pounds to get there!! I feel like I can get there now because I've incorporated exercise into my daily living.

Another quick post.

I am working on scheduling for the arts festival, and pr stuff too. I called in sick to work this morning, due to a migraine that was exacerbated by the vertigo. I felt worlds better once I had slept until 10, but had no car to go into work late. Oh well!
I spent a good part of the day with a kitten snuggled on my chest. He has been very affectionate today! Its kind of sweet.

JACK: I will be thinking of you and praying for you for your surgery. I put you on my small group's prayer list last night. They are great prayer warriors, so you should be covered this week! ;) I will be sure to tell them to be praying for you on Thursday morning, and after for a swift recovery.

TEENSY: Forgive me, but I still have your box here. I am planning on getting to the PO tomorrow morning! I would have gone today, but Laura took my car, and never came home! (well, yet, but I am sure she is at work... :) )

PANCHO: Check out Shoebuy.com for boots too. They have great prices, and free shipping. The selection is incredible.

gotta run!

GOOD LATE AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!

I feel so much better today...yesterdays rest period helped quite a lot. Still taking my medicine, and will be for the next twelve days. My head still has a lot of pressure, but not as much as yesterday!

Tonight is our movie and cast party...I'm excited about that, but it will be a late night. Last night, I was in the bed wity the light off by 11p.m. and those of you who know me, especially Debbie know that I'm a night owl!
I got to wear my deal of the century this morning....a Ralph Lauren...hand knitted sheeps wool sweater coat....I bought this about 5 yrs ago, and it's rarely cold enough to bring it out. It originally was $450 and I got it for $100.....Believe me, I guard that with my life! It was 35 degrees this morning and it felt so good!

Sounds like everyone has had a good day....NAT.... I saw on AMAZON.COM this morning that they were having a huge sale on little kids stuff up to 80% off! Check it out!

I've got to get ready for my night out, but wanted to drop in to say howdy!

Hello Gang--

I am just dropping in so that I can stay away from the kitchen. I am trying really hard to fight these sweet cravings. You know it's really funny because I eat and I am full. But it is like what I ate is not what my body is wanting. I have to get control. Thinking about doing an Atkin's induction period. Try staying away from all the starchy carbs and just eat a minimum of good vegetable carbs. Maybe that will detox my body to the point where I quit craving the sweets.

Cheryl-- Thanks, I know that inches are better, but I have my heart set on the numbers 150. Silly isn't it?

Monet--Don't you fret any. I think you are a total ANGEL!! Glad you are feeling better since laying back down and getting a few more Z's.

BOB-- Sounds like you are a stylin' and profilin'. Enjoy your evening out. Pictures would be nice!

Hello to anyone I missed and I hope you all enjoy your day.

(((((((((((((((The whole gang)))))))))))))))) I had a tiny pity party when the scales were up this morning. But I got over it and got back on track this afternoon. A pound or two is not the most important thing in my world even though sometimes I give it priority. I think that's one reason it's so easy to backslide with the eating and get even more upset. My room is clean. I know you are in shock. :) Really I'm kinda goofy, spring cleaning puts me in a good mood. Some times I rearrange rooms just so they will have a new look.

Jack-K....you are in my prayers. I've posted you to the board and the ladies are praying for you also.

Coleen....I hear about wanting to hit a certain weight. Good job staying out of the kitchen today.

Bob..so glad you are feeling better.

I'm sorry I don't have time to get in all my replies tonight. For some reason this has been a busy week.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hopefully my computer will cooperate now.

Got to the gym and got my full workout in. If I make it there on Saturday, that will be 4 days this week....yippee!

Jack-k: Your surgery is already scheduled? Is this the full masectomy? I will be praying for you until then and after for a positive and quick recovery.

Teensy: Happy Birthday! My b-day is Sunday. We are not sure where we will go to play in the snow; it depends on where it is snowing, maybe Northern Arizona or Colorado.

VMoore: I heard that chromium pic. in large doses can be harmful, but I think they gave rats like 6000 times what any human would take to get those results. I think it is a good idea to use it to help get off sweets and then discontinue....or go off it after you've been on for awhile and then back on. They say it can cause your cells to separate, and that often causes cancer. I used it for a few months, and then stopped using it.

cheryl: I don't want to pay too much for snow boots that they will wear once this year and then outgrow by next year. I got Britt a pair of Power Puff ones for $5.99 on e-bay.

Monet: Thanks for the info. on teh shoes. If I don't win the bid I have in for Lane's boots, I'll check it out....heck, I'll check it out later anyway.

Better go get dinner ready!

TAke care,
Nat

Hi, guys. Can't believe I'm on here at night again. Still don't have a good scale so I couldn't tell ya how the weight is doing, but except for my issues with McD's the other day, eating has been good. I need to get some variety in, though. Do you guys, especially ya'll that work outside the home (no offense to you that are SAHM's, I totally agree that's a full time job in itself, and this may apply to you, too, ok I know I'm rambling), anyway, do you find yourself fixing the same stuff for dinner week after week. It's like you've got the routine down, you know what works and it's hard to change. That's kind of where I am. I know I need to get more veggies in. I did roast some cauliflower the other night that turned out pretty good and I made this peanut butter chicken dish last night that was awesome. I am managing to branch out a little but by the time I get home and try to get something for dinner started, I'm just frazzled.

Anyway, gotta run, talk to ya'll tomorrow.

I’m afraid I’m not doing so well with this woe RIGHT NOW. The scale is up again. I seem to do well for a few days, scale comes down, then blow it big time, spend a whole week trying to undo the damage I do in such a short time. I really WANT to stay on track but I’m just not doing it!

Much has been said about the new viruses the past few days on TV as well as on the board. I have been getting emails from.... Get this... PAYPAL with viruses attached! It happened last night & again this morning. My Norton anti-virus program caught them & isolated them, so my puter has not been affected. My definitions are current. I also have been getting email bounce & come back saying that they did not go through. Problem is... I don’t recognize the email addresses those emails were sent to & I DID NOT send them! No one else uses my computer, so go figure!

Today’s menu:

6:30 am B: oatmeal with berry flavored protein powder (GO LEAN)
& 1/4 c. plain yogurt added
2 cups decaf coffee
9:30 am S: 2 T. PB & 8 triscuits, cup of decaf coffee
12:30 L: Baked Chicken ½ c. WW egg noodles with Pesto sauce
lettuce/tom salad w/ranch dsg
3:30 pm S: 2 Cup of hot tea Herbal-decaf - raspberry & Sugar Buster oatmeal cookie
8:00 pm D: speacial K & 2% milk

total fluids (water & tea) approx 64 oz

Some replies: Sorry, but I seem to have skipped over page 5 of the posts when I copied them over to my laptop last night.

Toni48, I’m sure driving in this weather can’t be any fun at all. Do hope your dh makes it back & forth to work safely. Homemade soup....yum, sure sounds good.

kengjw, Hope your dd is feeling better. My oldest dd works for a pediatrician & says they are seeing los of sick kids right now with respiratory problems. We live in a fairly small town & have several peds hospitalized with the same type of problems. Even our "Little Bug" Winston has been sick with it. Wheezing, congestion.

SEF, Looks like you are staying extra busy. I totally understand what you mean about not being able to keep up with the board when you’re not able to check it everyday. I sometimes think "what’s the use" because I'm posting replies from a couple of days ago & not todays, but ... Well, guess it doesn’t really matter. Sorry, I’m feeling a little down on myself today. It comes from constant defeats over struggles that don’t seem to get any better. Just having a private pitty party & thought you’d understand. I’d better shut up now.

vmoore, Yes, CC debt can build up too easily & they way they dish out CC these days, it’s no wonder. Good for you taking control the way you did. My DH is a wonderful manager & he keeps us straight with our finances. It was a hard thing for me to let him take over our finances when we married 13 years ago because I had control during my previous 18 yrs of marriage & the almost 8 years as a widow raising 3 girls, but it was the best thing I could have done. He has proved himself to me more than once in that department. :)

Fruitloupe, Sounds like that Monday will be a really busy day for you. Is it because you’ll be working on the float or what? Girls, it’s about 3 weeks away!!!

Well that’s all the posts that I copied but will try to get to some more tonight. Looks like we’re in for some rain. Yesterday was cold but sun shining. Today is warmer but sure doesn’t feel like it because the’s a definite chill & cloudy. Can’t handle to cold/dampness. Makes me hurt really bad.

HiedieHo All!

Another day but not another dollar! Went to NH as usual for my group and then this afternoon we entertained at another one. My DIL gave me a long sleeved white shirt with satin Mardi Gras appliques and rehinestones for Christmas. That has been my outfit for the entertaining. The others may get tired of seeing it the next couple of shows, but the sudiences are all different so they think it's okay. Have been wearing long green, gold, purple earrings with it. I'm bummed one broke this afternoon.

It is cool and damp here. I don't mind the cool part but the damp makes it an achy day.

MONET: Was it you that mentioned a migraine? DIL gets them frequently. They seem to be worse around TOM. She has tried all sorts of treatments. Now she has just gone through blood work for a herbal treatment (recommended by her chiaropractor (I know that's spelled wrong!) employer). She just got the treatment vitamins and is axious to start then and see what happens. One thing she was surprised about......she has had diarhea for a couple of weeks, hasn't gone to the doctor for it. While going over blood works results the herbalist asked if she has had problems with diarhea, said she has a parasite and prescribed certain pills for that too to kill parasite. Will be interesting to see if it helps. I know from the posts there are a few here that have faith in this type of treatment.

FRUIT: I don't think you have to worry about entertaining us while you're out having fun parading! I'm sure we will have plenty to chat about, games are fun, videos (BOB our movie expert) we'll be happy with each other. That's just MHO. You may have missed my post about the dates. I know I printed it out but now can't find it. What are the dates again? You know I have these senior moments!

I am so uncomfortable in my clothes. I am trying hard to be OP. Today we entertained for the NH's birthday party and passed up the cake (they always have a grand cake). I did have a glass of water rather than punch. Have to stop focusing on the massive amount to lose and focus on the one day at a time bit. Right? Right!!!!

Think I will go get comfy and do some stitching.

Nite all.

Take care, Shirley

Shirley, thanks sooooooo much for the cheer-up phone call! It really did the trick. You are a sweetheart! Can't wait to see you in a few weeks. Your blouse sounds beautiful. Too bad your earring broke though. I need to start thinking about what I'm going to fit into for the get-together. Now THAT is depressing! LOL

Good evening! Another quick stop to let you know that I'm still here and doing pretty well with eating. This week I've been too busy to snack! LOL!

Next week should be a little quieter. I'm doing a seminar tomorrow morning and trying to finish my presentation. I've taught this stuff for years so it's mostly review.

Jackie--I will certainly have you in my thoughts and prayers during the next week and especialy on Thurs. I think it is a good idea to talk to as many people as possible so you feel confortable with the decision you make. I know that before my hysterectomy I heard so many stories from women about how it was either the best thing they'd ever done or the worst. In the end I just listened to where my body and my mind were and made the decision to go for it. As you listen and gather information, I bet you'll hear a story that will just sound right to you and then you'll know what to do.

BOB--Sorry about the sinus infection--but I hope you had fun tonight hobnobbing with the movie stars! Can't wait to hear about it.

Monet--glad to hear you are doing a little better!

Deb--Whoa--slow down!!! The bagels are really like round WW bread with a hole. But when you haven't eaten bagels for over 3 years, they taste pretty good to me. I made an egg and bacon sandwich out of one this morning.

Everyone else--I'm trying to read and keep up, but I can't do a long post because I just have to get this work done!

Morning all - Things here are quiet. I'm glad it is Friday - running around all week certainly takes its toll. The weekend will be busy as well - 3 basketball games tomorrow and on Sunday - church, CCD and two birthday parties. Then of course the Superbowl! At least for the "men" in my house. When they mention Sunday I think in my mind "Commercials! and Sex & the City"!

Went to my Relay for Life meeting last night. It was awesome! For those of you wondering about Relay - it is fundraiser for the American Cancer Society wherein groups of people made up of teams walk for a straight 21 hour period. They all literally "camp out" on a high school track and the only rule is that each team must have one team member on the track at all times. Then naturally the people on the teams solicit other people to donate and/or pledge them for their walk. They also have a Survivor's Lap wherein anyone who has had/has cancer all walk the lap at the same time with their "caregiver". The survivor's are distinguished with a different colored t-shirt than the others. It is really so much fun! There are events and things going on all night long. I am proud to say that last night I was told that my team from last year came in second place for the event, raising over $14,200.00. Of course, I had 43 people on my team, but it was amazing. I started doing Relay 3 years ago when my friend was diagnosed with cancer for the 3rd time. She is now in remission :D and now that my MIL is treating, well it kind of became a big family event with my DH's aunts, uncles, cousins, etc. Okay - thanks for letting me brag. :s: I just wanted to share b/c they have Relay's all over the U.S. and if you never have seen one, it is really quite something!

Okay, now on to food. Eating yesterday went well. I had a big salad before the meeting but when I got home I had some NSA vanilla ice cream. I am craving those sweets again. I finally made some of the peanut butter cookies from the recipe board and they seem to be quite satisfying and filling and are doing the trick. I threw the rest of the ice cream out so I wouldn't be tempted!

Okay - going to hit the shower! Hope all is well is everyone - will check in later. Boss will be out of the office most of the day :s:

Good Friday Morning Everyone:wave:

Sorry I haven't been able to post, the intention has been there but I had trouble with thinking I had the board on a disk the other night only to find it was blank and then last night, got it loaded on a disk and the laptop refused to cooperate, I don't know what's wrong with it but it continues to get worse every time I try to use it.

I am hoping I can get on the board to post as usual but I can't right now, I have a crapload of stuff to complete today, financial forms that HAVE to be postmarked befor the 1st:fr: which I haven't touched - shouldn't surprise anyone.

I've been running with MICHAEL and LAUREN non-stop 99,500 and going fast towards 100K on the car. MICHAEL had his HARVARD interview on Wed., figured it would take maybe a half hour - 1 1/2 hours later he finally emerged as we had sat there waiting - he felt it went very good, but who knows:shrug: He has another one on Monday for YALE after school. Today is a busy driving day, MICHAEL is doing a poetry thing at Starbucks after school, LAUREN to the gym, then LAUREN has a new dance class, of course, that starts RIGHT at 5pm and the rush hour to get back is a killer, not looking forward to going there on a Friday evening on a weekly basis - it's far AND the traffic is horrific! Then go back and get MICHAEL after killing an hour waiting for LAUREN. PLUS, I MUST get some things up on Ebay - this week has been bad and I really need to get the money to pay some of my bills. Oh, and MY HOUSE IS A WRECK AGAIN!

I thought this week wasn't going to be so bad:nono: Well, at least I started it out okay. Maybe I need to wake up in the middle of the night again to get in my post - it's the only time that no one is screaming THEY need the computer:rolleyes:

Will try to check in later - sorry I can't reply to everyone right now, I know you all understand, which I'm so grateful for. I'll hopefully get back on sometime later today.

Good Friday morning:

Well what a way to start my morning. I got up to get in the shower before the girls woke up, and TOM had hit with a vengeance. I then get out of the shower and walk down the hall, and notice a SCORPION on the wall; it was one of those bark scorpions that are the extremely dangerous ones. I smacked it with my slipper and it fell to the tile, and then I couldn't find it; it blended in so well (we have brownish/tan tones to our tile). I didn't even know if I killed it or not since they are tough to kill; they have really tough skin. I had to turn off all the lights and go get the blacklight. Once I turned on the blacklight, I found him and got rid of him. It is too cold for scorpions right now; they are all underground....this guy must've been running around the house for some time now. Thank God I found him since he was right next to Lane's stepstool that she sits on and plays on everyday. I'm glad that CheyAnne (our golden retr) hadn't found it either, or we'd be taking her back to the vet. DH took her in last night and found out she had a yeast infection in her ear (I didn't know that was possible) and an infected anal gland. If it's not a kid, it's a pet!

I am going to be visiting some friends of mine today when Britt is in school; they are moms that used to be in the Mom's Club but aren't anymore. We sometimes get together for a movie, but one of the ladies just moved into a new home and wants us all to see it, so she is having a potluck. I am going to bring spinach/artichoke dip. All of these 4 women have children that are older and in school, so it s/b interesting with Lane running around the house, which I think is a 2-story.....aye-yie-yie....we probably won't stay too long.

Trishaloo: It's funny you say that about dinner; it's easy to get into a rut. The slow cooker can be a lifesaver sometimes...you can come home to a meal pre-made. The reason that is funny is because I was standing in the pantry the other day at lunchtime thinking, "why am I the one who always has to decide what everyone has to eat all the time???" It gets tiring sometimes trying to make sure the kids eat a nutritious meal at BF, lunch & dinner. AND then I have to find something on plan to eat for myself.

Sef: Sounds like a great shirt; I am sure everyone loves to watch you perform in it. Way to pass on the cake and punch....baby steps...one day at a time.

Suzy: Wow, sounds like a busy weekend. Have fun. What an awesome event that Relay for Life seems to be. We have had similar events here, but I haven't heard of that one....I might check it out. Does it support all forms of cancer? Where does the money raised go? Enjoy those commercials & Sex in the City.

Deb: We miss you, but understand. I think you need a chauffear (sp?) to drive those kids around. Try to get some rest, and take care of yourself.

I am going to go to the gym early tomorrow and then we are taking the girls to Disney Princesses on Ice and then out to dinner for my birthday. Sunday will be a lazy day at home and watching the Super Bowl.

One of the girls in Britt's class is leaving in Feb.; her dad is going to be playing for the New York Yankees this year; he used to be with the Mets. She is sad to see her leave, but she will be back to start the new year next year; I guess they do this every year. The kids go to this school from August until Feb, and then on to wherever dad is playing ball for the remainder of the year.

Well, I better go get some bf. The girls s/b up any minute.

Have a great day.

Happy TGIF!

Don't know if I'm glad it's Friday or not. Hate to be home, more time to think. At least here I have work to keep me occupied and the girls here to bounce things off of. DH has been so wonderful and does talk about it, but not just the same as women do.

We got 2 1/2" of snow today. I didn't have any problems getting to work and 1/2 hour early at that.

I have talked to about 5 ladies that have had the same thing and I have decided to do the reconstruction. See my post to Pancho for the procedure and to Fillise about my fears being quieted if you are interested.

Teensy, we got 2 1/2" of snow this morning, nothing compared to your foot or more. WTG getting in 5 days of exercise. I always crave soemthing sweet after I eat. I usually try to schew some SF gum and that seems to help.

Cheryl, you will get rid of those 10 lbs and the rest of them much quicker with exercise. Keep up the good work.

Monet, thank you for the prayers. Hope that headache gets better.

Bob, glad you are some better. 35 degrees? It's 10 here this morning. Hope your party was fun.

Country, you know that gain is probably hormones, water, etc. Don't let it get you down. I always get energized cleaning too.

Pancho, I am having both breasts removed and the reconstruction at the same time. They cut your stomach muscles and tunnel your stomach under your skin up to your chest cavity. So my stomach will now be my new boobies! So wonder if I cet a tummy aches if my boobs will hurt? :?: So glad you caught that scorpion. They sound dangerous. I probably won't be on over the weekend so I am wishing you a Happy Birthday early. enjoy your day, you deserve it. :gift: :flow2: :balloons: :hat: :hb:

Trish, I eat the same old things. I'm not a very creative cook anyway. I like simple and quick. I'm trying to branch out too.

Melf, that is what this new virus does,it sends emails from people you never heard of. I heard it doesn't due damage untill Feb 1-12th. You will get your mindset in gear soon I'm sure. Gotta get the mind and the mouth going the same way.

Sef, set you some small goals, reward yourself when you get there. One day at a time. You need some Mardi Gras beads to wear with that shirt. It sounds pretty.

Fillise, I have talked to about 5 women who have gone thru the same thing and it has helped alot. I figure if they all did it and are pleaesed and didn't have any problems, then I can do it. I did talk to one lady last night (same age, same surgery, same PS) and she was wonderful. She really put a lot of my fears at rest. So I have basically made my decision and go for it.

Suzy, we have a guy here at work that has lost several familymemebers to cancer and does the relay every year. Our company sponsors him.

Deb, aren't there other kids involved in these same activities that Lauren and Michael can get rides with? It would make it much easier on you. Who's gonna run them around when you are in NO?

Will try to get back but not sure. I have lots of work to do in 4 days.

Have a great day and weekend.

Good Morning everyone,
Hope that everyone is doing well, it's incredibly cold here, but at least the sun is out.
Got to the gym last night and did 2.2 miles on the elliptical machine, plus the stength training circuit. I'll walk on the treadmill later on tonight. Need to go shopping for Superbowl food, the kids have very definite ideas on what they want for noshies.
Of course, nothing OP :)
Food has been good: egg and cheese on WW toast, and I'm snacking on an orange.
Not sure what dinner will be yet. And I've got my tea pot hot and ready for the day.
We're having people over for dinner tomorrow night and will make a light version of chocken marsala that I like, rice pilaf, and one of the guests is bringing salad, another is bringing dessert.

Cherylco- I feel like if I miss exercise, it's as bad as cheatin with the food part. 80+ pounds to go for me!
Monet 320 - I love it when kitties snuggle up, I just wish that they did it more often.
Teensybean - I have my heart set on numbers too. Although smaller clothes sizes definitely help out with regard to morale.
Trishaloo - I tend to use the same 1 or 2 dozen recipes. But every once in awhile I get creative and the family loves it.
Deb - Sounds like you're running and crazy busy. I need to work on the financial forms too. WIll fill out what I can and wait for the completed tax returns to do the rest.
Pancho - scorpions?? YUCK!! I'd rather have spiders, and I'm not thrilled about those either.

Hope that everyone has a great day, I'm going to give blood platelets after work.

Im cleaning house today, kitchen looks real good now. I even cleaned the top of the fridge!!! Im trying to stay busy until i can make myself exercise...thats a hard one for me. I am doing much better with the water. I bought some bottled water to keep in the fridge. I guess its just easier for me to grab a bottle.
Trishaloo; Im the same way with the same old dinners. But i use a lot of different spices. I have just about everything Mrs. Dash puts out. It may be the same old dinner but it has a totally different taste. And sometimes if I make hamburger patties i use brown gravy one time, cheese and salsa the next or onions/mushrooms the next.
My family want chicken and dumplins tonight and i cant eat that!!!! So Im praying for the God of willpower to be with me today...lol
Does anyone eat the Kashi Go Lean Crunch? I tried it and love it. As far as I can tell its legal. I also bought the Uncle Sam cereal because im having problems with constipation ( sorry if to much info) and it seems to help.
I guess thats all for now. Time to get busy cleaning the bathrooms. UGH!!

Hi everyone! I am finally able to check in and slowly but surely catch up reading!

We had "Ice Storm 2004" here in Augusta this week and our power was out for 3 days... I took the girls to school Monday morning and had the little 7 month old I keep and the power went out...no heat, no warming up food, no hot shower for 3 days! They closed the school at 11:30 on Monday so I carefully drove in that stuff and got the baby returned to her momma who is a teacher and got to come home early. My girls go to a private Catholic school so they decided to close til Thursday. But we did it! We read, cuddled by the fire, colored(does anyone know how relaxing coloring in a coloring book is?? Try it!!)

But this week, SB-wise and exercise wise will just have to be a write-off a the gym was closed too and we had to get take out most meals...lost about everything in the frig and deep freezer. I did save the breastmilk tho!!!!! It took months for the mom of the baby I keep to pump that!!!!!!

Then yesterday they called me from school and told me my little 5 y.o. had fell and busted her chin while taking off her coat with a friend(she was pulling and let go and my daughter just fell face first to the ground)...spent the a.m. in the hospital with the plastic surgeon...luckily my DH works there as an RN and showed me where to go...then we had a nice salad together in the cafe. So hopefully next week will go more smoothly!! ;)

Yall all sound as if you are doing well on the plan. In yall's opinion, if I want to burn fat, should I just eat my legal starcy carbs at breakfast and lunch and leave them off at dinner, focusing mainly on green leafy vegies for this meal with my lean protein? Just trying to declare WAR on this last layer on fat that keeps hanging around!!!!!!

Have a great weekend! :strong: ;) ;) :balloons:

Sitting here getting a slow start to my day. I've been making some stationery and looking through graphics. Today is lazy day. I got on the scales. They were up even more. So much for all the exercise. :) So I finished off the last of my basmati rice for breakfast with a piece of pepper jack cheese.

Jack-K....Praying that you have a great weekend and you are so busy doing fun stuff you don't have too much time to think. (((hugzz))) Thanks for your encouragment.

Nat...we had a scorpion in here last summer and then found a second one but it was dead. I was freaknig out. But the kind we have are no worse than a bee sting to most people. But for 6 months I was so freaked out aboub shoes and clothes laying around. The kind we have are almost see through. One was the dark brown. The light one was crawling on the floor. I called the exterminator in a panic. He did good not to laugh at me. :) Of course there was nothing he could do but he was sweet about it. No more sense..thank God.

VMoore...forgive for being so late in saying welcome..WELCOME!!!!!

Jackie-0 hey!!!!! ((hugzz))

Woodfrogs...wtg with all the exercise. You are doing sooooooo good.

Deb...praying Michael gets into the college that he really wants out of all his choices.

SuzyB...enjoy your weekend. It sounds like you are going to be pretty busy.

Susan...howdy! ((hugzz))

Monet...are you feeling better?

Howdy Bob! ((hugzz))

Hey Julie!!! Hope you are having a nice day.

Missy...send a hug your way too!

Self....(((((hugzz)))))

Melf...hey! ((hugzz))

Trish and Toni....(((((hugzzzz))))))

Hey Jenn, Rose, Colleen and Barbara! ((((hugzz))))

I'm sure I am forgetting some one and it not on purpose.

Did you ever get totally psyched up about something, really steaming, and have the rug jerked out from underneath you? This happened to me Wednesday. I am all het up about my free workout at Curves, I go out and my battery is dead. My housemate comes out and jumps it for me. So I drive out there and the people are really friendly, but she wont let me do the workout without a doctor's note. Now I told her what I weighed before I ever came out there, they couldn't have told me that on the phone?
Then, i'm talking budget and fitting this into mine with my housemate Vince, and he wants to know why I don't go to the community center, because it's cheaper. I know that I won't go there, there are always bunches of kids hanging around and I'm self concious. I like the idea of a supportive women only enviroment and I'm willing to pay for it. THEN, my other housemate, on whom I depend for support as a woman, shuts me down totally. Won't even let me talk about it, because HER doctor told her that people our size shouldn't attempt any other exercise but water aerobics. Period. Screw that.

You know, I'm healthy for my size and I'm a responsible adult. The idea of having to get "permission" rather than signing a waiver that lets them off the hooks frosts my cookies. And it pissed me off that my best friends, who I thought would be behind me all the way, are so unsupportive.

HiedieHo All!

Depressing thought! Pay bills and balance checkbook! That's my objective today. I glanced at statement yesterday when it arrived and it shocked me, according to it I have $234 more than the 5,73 I think I have. Wouldn't it be wonderful if it were so! Also doing wash and general cleaning.

MELF: So good to talk to you. I just felt bad when I read what you posted and wanted to say I care. Know what you mean about the clothes thing. I am so uncomfortable in my clothes because of the gain. I hope I lose a couple of pounds between now and the! Can always dream.

FILLISE: Glad you are doing well with your eating. What's the secret? You are always so busy when do you find time for Susan?

SUZY: You deserve bragging rights. If everyone haad a cause they believe in and supported what a great world it would be. One of my problems with food is I can't stand to see anything go to waste. I don't think I would have had the fortitude to throw away the ice cream!

DEB: Look at it this way, would you rather have kids that were slugs so you wouldn't have so much to do? One of the rreasons you're so busy is you're a great Mom! We'll still be here when you have the time.

PANCHO: I think I could handle a scorpion, just not a spider. They have a lots of spiders (very poisonous ones too) in OZ and before I visited the kids there I sent money to have the exterminator come in. As it was a bunch hatched out in the cornwer of the ceiling right abiove where I was sitting. Panicsville!!!! DIL was like you, "Oh well, it's there just take care of it." Thank goodness children or dog weren't around it.

Okay I've played enough the dryer is buzzing and so is the washer, so I better get moving. Try to check in later.

FFs:

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is an Oklahoma fan.* She asks her students to raise their hands if they are Oklahoma fans too.

Not really knowing what an Oklahoma fan was, but wanting to be liked by their teacher, their hands fly into the air.

There is, however, one exception. Susie has not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different.

"Because I'm not an Oklahoma fan" she reports.

"Then," asks the teacher, "what are you?"

"I'm a LSU Tiger fan" boasts the little girl.

The teacher asks Susie why she is a LSU fan.

"Well, my Dad and Mom are Tiger fans, so I'm a Tiger fan too" she responds.

"That's no reason," the teacher says. "What if your mom was a moron, and your dad was an idiot. What would you be then?"

Susie smiles and says, "Then I'd be an Oklahoma fan."

Warning: Don't Step on the Ducks!

Three women die together in an accident and go to heaven. When they get there, St. Peter says, "We only have one rule here in heaven: don't step on the ducks!"

So they enter heaven, and sure enough, there are ducks all over the place. It is almost impossible not to step on a duck, and although they try their best to avoid them, the first woman accidentally steps on one.

Along comes St. Peter with the ugliest man she ever saw. St. Peter chains them together and says, "Your punishment for stepping on a duck is to spend eternity chained to this ugly man!"

The next day, the second woman steps accidentally on a duck and along comes St. Peter, who doesn't miss a thing. **With him is another extremely ugly man. He chains them together with the same admonishment as for the first woman.

The third woman has observed all this and, not wanting to be chained for all eternity to an ugly man, is very, VERY careful where she steps.

She manages to go months without stepping on any ducks, but one day St. Peter comes up to her with the most handsome man she has ever laid eyes on ... very tall, long eyelashes, muscular, and thin.

St. Peter chains them together without saying a word.

The happy woman says, "I wonder what I did to deserve being chained to you for all of eternity?"

The guy says, "I don't know about you, but I stepped on a duck!"

The Rambo Granny of Melbourne, Australia

Gun-toting granny Ava Estelle, 81, was so ticked-off when two thugs raped her 18-year-old granddaughter that she tracked the unsuspecting ex-cons down - - and shot off their testicles.

The old lady spent a week hunting those men down -- and when she found them, she took revenge on them in her own special way, said Melbourne police investigator Evan Delp.* Then she took a taxi to the nearest police station, laid the gun on the sergeant's desk and told him as calm as could be: 'Those *******s will never rape anybody again, by God.' Cops say convicted rapist and robber Davis Furth, 33, lost both his penis and his testicles when outraged Ava opened fire with a 9-mm pistol in the hotel room where he and former prison cellmate Stanley Thomas, 29, were holed up.

The wrinkled avenger also blew Thomas' testicles to kingdom come, but doctors managed to save his mangled penis, police said.* The one guy, Thomas, didn't lose his manhood, but the doctor I talked to said he won't be using it the way he used to, Detective Delp told reporters.* Both men are still in pretty bad shape, but I think they're just happy to be alive after what they've been through.

The Rambo Granny swung into action August 21 after her granddaughter Debbie was carjacked and raped in broad daylight by two knife-wielding creeps in a section of town bordering on skid row.* "When I saw the look on my Debbie's face that night in the hospital, I decided I was going to go out and get those *******s myself 'cause I figured the Law would go easy on them," recalled the retired library worker.* "And I wasn't scared of them, either-- because I've got me a gun and I've been shootin' all my life.* And I wasn't dumb enough to turn it in when the law changed about owning one."

So, using a police artist's sketch of the suspects and Debbie's description of the sickos', tough-as-nails Ava spent seven days prowling the wino-infested neighborhood where the crime took place till she spotted the ill fated rapists entering their flophouse hotel.

I knew it was them the minute I saw 'em, but I shot a picture of 'em anyway and took it back to Debbie and she said sure as ****, it was them, the oldster recalled.

So I went back to that hotel and found their room and knocked on the door and the minute the big one, Furth, opened the door, I shot 'em right square between the legs, right where it would really hurt 'em most, you know.* Then I went in and shot the other one as he backed up pleading to me to spare him.* Then I went down to the police station and turned myself in.

Now, baffled lawmen are trying to figure out exactly how to deal with the vigilante granny.* What she did was wrong, and she broke the law, but it is difficult to throw an 81-year-old woman in prison, Det. Delp said, especially when 3 million people in the city want to nominate her for sainthood and a medal.

DEPORT HER TO AMERICA -- WE NEED HER!!!

Computer Programming Class

For a computer programming class, I sat directly across from someone, and our computers were facing away from each other.

A few minutes into the class, she got up to leave the room. I reached between our computers and switched the inputs for the keyboards.

She came back and started typing and immediately got a distressed look on her face. She called the teacher over and explained that no matter what she typed, nothing would happen. The teacher tried everything.

By this time I was hiding behind my monitor and quaking red-faced. I started to type, "Leave me alone!" They both jumped back, silenced. "What the . . . " the teacher said. I typed, "I said leave me alone!" The kid got real upset. "I didn't do anything to it, I swear!"

It was all I could do to keep from laughing out loud. The conversation between them and HAL 2000 went on for an amazing five minutes. Me: "Don't touch me!" Her: "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hit your keys that hard." Me: "Who do you think you are
anyway?!" Etc.

Finally, I couldn't contain myself any longer and fell out of my chair laughing. After they had realized what I had done, they both turned beet red. Funny, I never got more than a C- in that class.

The new Texas preacher was a dead ringer for Conway Twitty, the country music singer. One day he decided to visit some of the church members who hadn't been to service lately.

He went to the first lady's house and knocked on the door. When she answered the door, she said, "Conway Twitty!" "No ma'am," he replied. "I'm your new pastor, and I came to have prayer with you." So she said come right on in.

He visited several more homes, and everyone thought he was Conway Twitty. Then he came to a young widow woman's house on the end of the street. She was taking a shower when the doorbell rang, so she just wrapped a towel around her and opened the door. When she saw her caller, she threw up her hands - which allowed the towel to fall to the floor. "Oh my God!" she exclaimed. "It's Conway Twitty!"

And the preacher said......."Hello, Darlin

A husband had finished a book about being the "Man of the House" by the time he reached his home. All charged up he stormed into his house and walked directly up to his wife. Pointing and shaking a finger in her face, he said, "From now on, I want you to know that I am the man of this house, and my word is law!" "I demand that you prepare me a gourmet meal tonight, and when I'm finished eating my meal, I expect a sumptuous dessert afterward!". "Then, after dinner, you're going to rub my tired feet and draw me my bath so I can relax"."I will be expecting you to bring me martinis while I soak in the tub!" "And, when I'm finished with my bath, guess who's going to dress me and comb my hair?"

"The *funeral director," replied his wife.

A study conducted by UCLA's Department of Psychiatry has revealed that the kind of male face a woman finds attractive can differ depending on where she is in her menstrual cycle.

For instance, if she is ovulating she is attracted to men with rugged and masculine features.*

However, if she is menstruating, or menopausal, she is more prone to be attracted to a man with scissors lodged in his temple and a bat jammed up his *** while he is on fire.

A lady walks into a Lexus dealership and browses around. Suddenly she spots the most perfect, beautiful car and walks over to inspect it. As she bends forward to feel the fine leather upholstery, an unexpected little burst of flatulence escapes her. Very embarrassed, she anxiously looks around to see if anyone has noticed and hopes a sales person doesn't pop up right now. As she turns back, there standing next to her is a salesman.

With a pleasant smile he greets her, "Good day, Madame. How may we help you today?"

Trying to maintain an air of sophistication and acting as though nothing had happened, she smiles back and asks, "Sir, what is the price of this lovely vehicle?"

Still smiling pleasantly, he replies, "Madame, I'm very sorry to say that if you farted just touching it, you are gonna **** when you hear the price.

HiedieHo All!

Looks like I missed a page!

JACKIE: Games. I love them. Good idea.

JACKK: Half the battle sometimes is making a decision. Glad you are content with. Know what you mean about work keeping you from thinking. When my DH died it was a lifesaver for me. You continue to be in my prayers. I thought beads might be too much over the top with the shirt decorations, afraid they would hide the design too.

GOIN4: I use to love a storm taht closed us in, just seemed to make family time more precious. Silly I guess. We were lucky, we didn't have too many outages and they only lasted a very short time. I guess since we had that type of weather frequently we were more prepared..........or just lucky!

COUNTRY: We all need a lazy dqy now and then.

ARCAYNE: Sometimes we have to rely on ourselves. Unless people have been where we are they have no conception of what we are going through. I'm like you too self conscious for a regular group. That's what I like about where I go, it's a senior class so you're not beside some babe in a thong! I've never heard that we shouldn't exercise, just that it should be adapted to our capabilities as we go along. I wish there were some tapes out there for the really overweight group. I do have Richard Simmons' "Silver Foxes" tape. I should get it out again. The group is not heavies but seniors. The last time I started using it I couldn't keep up but gradually improved. I know I will be in the same boat this time. In this day and age of the "sue" mentality places are doing everything they can to try and cover themselves. If you really want Curves, then a note might be a small concession. Then should have given you the warning over the phone.

THe dryer and washer are still buzzing. Gotta go!

Take care, Shirley

Seems like a lot of us are doing fly bys...

I need to run over to the post office in a second, but was relaxing here reading the posts. I just got in from doing the worship guides for church, and grabbed a bit of lunch. In the process, I really screwed up. I had a package of cupcakes I had gotten the other day and forgotten in the trunk. They were supposed to be the dessert for Wednesday night. I carried them in, and ate TWO of them! All I can say is PMS... I don't even LIKE sweets! Oh well. Back on the straight and narrow! I have been a perfect angel eating wise, before that. :(

Here is a FF someone sent me today.

Okay, this is going to be a quickie. Just taking a break. I am getting the General Tso's chicken ready to cook. The chopping of the ingredients is the most time consuming part. It was raining here all morning, and the wind is blowing. At least it is a warm wind. It will help to melt all this snow!!

Eating was good yesterday.....the only sweet thing I ate was a slice of the zucchini loaf. So hopefully today will be just as good.

Suzy-- What a wonderful thing. I think I have heard a little bit about it. You and your team did a fantastic job.....you have every reason to be proud, and every right to be bragging!! Job well done!!

Deb-- Sounds like another busy day.....don't know how you keep up! Hope you can relax a bit this weekend! We miss you, but do understand!!

Pancho--We used to have scorpions running around when I lived in NM. Most people said their bite was just like a bee sting too. I sure didn't want to find out!! Wishing you a happy birthday on Sunday....don't know if I will get back on here this weekend or not. So just in case....I will do it now!!

Jack-k-- Thanks for the suggestion on the gum. I will pick some up and give it a try. I am glad that you have found some women to talk to about this. As I said before, my aunt just had it done last year, and she is very happy with the results.

Woods--I feel the same way when I miss a day of exercising. It throws my whole day off. I take off Sat. and Sun. but want to get all five week days in.

Vmoore-- Try the Fiber One, it has like 14 g fiber in one half cup serving! It does have some kind of corn in the ingredients, but Deb says it is so little that she still eats it and recommends it too.

Goin4- Welcome. Those icestorms are no fun. We had one here in 96, and our business was without power for a week. There were people up at Mt Spokane who were without power for almost a month!! Hope your daughter is okay.

Country-- Sometimes we need those lazy days. Could you be adding muscle?? It weighs more, so that could be the reason for the gain.

Arcayne-- I am so sorry that your friends were not there for you. I think you are right about the waiver...... (((((HUGS))))

Sef-- I sure wish I could find a few more dollars in my checking acount!!

Monet-- That really did sum it all up!! Sometimes I think they know even less than that!!

Ta ta for now.....back later!!

Good Friday afternoon!

I just typed a rather long post and dd came in and accidently deleted it when she pressed the "escape" button. Arghhhh!!!! Okay, I feel better now..lol.

I had a good breakfast, the last of my egg and sausage casserole and half of Thomas 100% WW bagel. Next time, I will add some veges like broccoli. mushrooms and bell-peppers to the casserole. Dh and dd loves it too and the best thing about it is it lasts few days. I didn't eat it everyday but every other day. I just heat it up and I have a delicious breakfast...lol

Okay, I did something bad today. I lied to my friend that I cannot babysit for her tonight. The min I know she was going to ask me, I was thinking hard on how to tell her "no" and I couldn't bring myself to be honest with her. Gosh, hate that! I know she would be upset. Alright, here is the rest of the story. She said she has been VERY sicked the last few days and is finally well enough to go to her yoga class. Knowing my friend, I know that she will go anywhere even if she is not well. I told her that she should actually rest and concentrate on getting her immune system up. It seems that everytime she get sick (even if it was a mild cold), she gets really sick and cannot get out of the bed etc. Once, she said she wanted to come over and I said yes. When she and her dd were here, I found out that her dd was having a cold. If I knew it, I wouldn't want them to play together until she gets well. She didn't even mention it to me over the phone. Few days after, Jess was sicked with a cold and I knew that we didn't get out of the house since we met them. Needless to say, dh and I was upset. I took the courage to talk to her about it and it was very hard for me to do that. There was another time when she wanted to come over and I told her that my dd was having a cold and that I don't want her dd to catch it. She said, not to worry, her dd would be okay and she insisted on coming anyway. I didn't know if her dd did get the cold. So, everytime she said she wants to come over, I want to make sure if she and her dd are not sick. Her dd goes to daycare and is more often sick than Jess. I know I am so fortunate to have her at home. I just didn't want to take any chance with dd catching anything from her or her dd. She also mention she has an infection and need to get antibiotic from her dr but she is well. So, I really didn't feel comfortable about it and I lied. The hardest thing about dishonesty is that I not only have to answer to myself but to the higher "one". No, I am not beating myself up, just need to get this out of the system, seems so uncomfortable keeping it inside...lol. Well, I did tell dh about it.

I finally make my first Agave order online yesterday. Debbie posted this site called, GloryBee and they have a reasonable price on Agave, from 8oz to bulk. The more you buy the cheaper it is. I order their 1 gallon size which costs $27.14 and another 8ox bottle to make it over $30.00 since that is the min purchase. Since I haven't order from them before, I don't want to order anything more than 1 gallon. I just want to make sure they are "real" Agave syrup. I will "test" it when it arrives. If I like it, I will probably order 2 gallons at once (they also sells 4/1 gal for $90+) and the even with the shipping fee, I am still getting a bargain considering that I am already buying my Agave cheap at the Harrys Farmers market for $2.59 or so (can't remember exactly), thanks to Monet. So, I will let you all know if it is a real bargain. Thanks Deb for posting that site. Btw, have anyone order from them before?

On to some replies :

Debbie : You are some energizer bunny...lol, gosh, I get exhausted just by reading your post about driving around. Hope Lauren and Michael knows how much you are doing for them. Now, get some rest if you can. I love Thai food a lot and the restaurant I went to didn't serve brown rice. They might in the future, who knows. It sure doesn't to ask them if you go to one.

woodfrogs : Congrats on the 2lbs loss. Great job!

vmoore : 12lbs is awesome. Keep it up!

Arcayne : WTG on taking charge of your finances. It must not be easy to show anyone your weaknesses even if it is your brother. I am glad you are on a good start now. Curves is everywhere and recently open one near my house, less than 5 mins away. It is definitely a popular place for lotsa women these days. I have no idea you need to get a dr note to start exercising. I guess they really don't want to take any responsibility should anything happen. I understand that but I do wish they would have let you know upfront. I am sorry about what your house mate said. I know that is not true. Yes, people do have different level of exercise they body can tolerate but I have never heard that you can only do water aerobic only if you are on certain weight. That doesn't make any sense at all. Walking is low impact...either outside or on a treadmill. {{[hugs}}

Sef : Having extra money is always good :) So, being wrong this time is good...lol.

Teensybean : I LOVE general Tso chicken. A chinese restaurant here makes the best one. Gosh, I sure missed that. How do you make yours? I would love to have the recipe if you don't mind. Chinese cooking is fast and easy but the most consuming part is the preparation like chopping and slicing.

The talk about chillies here make me want to try to make one. I would appreciate any chillies recipes you want to share. Thanks.

I cannot believe I am all caught up with this board...right now...lol. I better post this out before dd comes and press the "esc" button again. If I miss anyone, please forgive me, it is not intentional.

Julia

Idblond : Not sure if I did welcome you back yet but would love to. Welcome back...lol. Looking forward to know you.

Pancho : It seems that my body is not used to taking naps anymore. There are time where I could have taken naps with Jess but someone my brain couldn't...lol. WTG on getting those 4 days exercise in. Yikes, yikes, I can't stand the sight of a scorpion or a spider. I am glad you caught it and hope that is the last of it. Whenever i go to my friend's house (especially when they have no young children), I usually end up coming home early. It is so hard to concentrate with Jess running around and making sure she doesn't wreck anything.

Jack-K : I know it must not been easy to come up with a decision on what to do. I am glad you are at peace with your decision. I will keep you in my prayers.

Goin4fitmommy : Wow, must be some serious ice storm. I am glad you and your family is well. I love snuggling with dd and just doing nothing. Dd loves colouring too and soemtimes I join her too. Some people do skip starch at dinnertime, really a preference and up to what your body can take. Personally, I have to have a starch on every meal even if there are only half cup. I am still losing, eventhough slowly.

Trishaloo : My FIL asked me and dh last week if we have bought a "shot gun" yet, for the trouble dd will cause us in the future...lol. Many people have asked us that and maybe I will just take your advice and lock her up until she is 40...lol.

Suzy : Looks like we are almost on the same weight...not exactly but close. I am 5 ft2 1/2, still hoping that I haven't shrink...lol. I am now at 115 and some days at 114lbs. I started SB at 128lbs in Oct. Feel free to brag about anything here. What you are doing with Reay For life is awesome. I have not heard of it, I will keep my eyes open now that I know about it. Thanks.

heartmom : I love Thrift stores too. With a dd who is growing so fast, thift stores are great to get her clothes and toys etc without having to spend an arm or leg. I remember reading in the Consumer Report that the Crest whitesrips for nights are on their best list, but then again I am exactly certain if it is the "night" one. I am going to try that soon.

Melf : The last few days, I had 2 emails that was sent back to me saying that the mail delivery failed and I never sent them. Both had attachment on them and I asked dh to look at it and it immediately deleted them. Why are people so nasty...we have enough of thing to deal with and now uncessary computer virus? Thanks, dd is feeling okay. She doesn't seem to have anything other than some sinus congestion at night. She sleeps well though.

Bob : Hope you feel better already.

Countrymom : I am terrible in keeping my house tidy all the time. I am still working on that. Maybe you can come help me :)

GOOD EARLY EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

WELL....The movie was great! A TALE OF TWO PIZZA'S and all of the people were there. We went to the party and it was very laid back...everyone talking to everyone, and the people from the movie were very talkative...the biggest thrill for me was the guy who did all the music for the movie including the singing...NAT KING COLE'S brother!!!! AND MAN....he's the nicest person!
HOWIE MANDELL is coming in tonight to receive an award...Tom (my friends hubby) said he just couldn't justify buying tickets to this party because it's cost $250 per person! ONE MORE TO GO...the story of EILEEN WORNOUS...people in FLA will remember her as the lesbian prostitute who picked up men and killed them along I-75 in the late 80's and early 90's. SHe has since been put to death. Charlise Therion stars in this one...MONSTER

Here are the MOVIE PICKS for the weekend:

RADIO

SECRET LIVES OF DENTISTS

OPEN RANGE (I'm giving this one another shot)

DADDY & THEM

As always, I'll let y'all know how they are....

I'm still feeling CRAPPY and came home early again today! I'll get to everyone this weekend at some point....

I'm thinking about each and every one of you....ESPECIALLY YOU JACKIE!!!

Good afternoon:

I love being caught up on posts, so here goes:

Jack-K: Wow, what a lot to go through at once. I guess the worst part of a masectomy is waking up with "nothing" there. I guess the procedure you are having done will make that part of it much more bearable. I assume you will be out for awhile; how long do they anticipate the surgery to take? Can the cancer re-appear in the "stomach" tissue? I will be praying extra hard for you. Thanks for the birthday wishes.

vmoore: I don't like Uncle Sam cereal by itself....too many flaxseeds. I usually sprinkle some of it in with whatever other cereal I am having; it certainly will keep you regular. They have a new one out now with fruit in it...blueberries & strawberries, I think.

goin4fit: Another similarity for us. Britt went to a Catholic preschool and now goes to a private christian school. I love the fact that their day begins with prayer. They pray for anyone who is sick, and talk about God & Jesus without having to worry about offending anyone. So sorry to hear about DD; I hope she is better soon....it sounds painful. My nephew just fell off his bike a few weeks back (it was wet outside because it had rained) and buster his chin; he had to get stitches.

Country: These scorpions & rattlesnakes scare the crap out of me.....that is one of the reasons I hate the summers here; the evil stuff comes out of hiding.

Arcayne: Yes, it is ridiculous, but the company doesn't want to be sued; there are too many sue-happy people out there. I would get the note from your doctor and start working out there; there is a lot to be said for a women's network. I work out at Naturally Women (a full-service gym for women only, with a lot of other services too), and it is great to not have to worry about men in there. You feel a lot more comfortable with women around. It is more important for you to workout than not. I'm sure your roommate would understand your feelings of insecurity at the community center, and if not....who cares? You need to do what you feel comfortable with. Remember, you need to take care of YOU!

Sef: Yuck...what a warm welcome...a new batch of spiders to greet you!

Monet: Love the FF.

Teensy: HAPPY BIRTHDAY EARLY!!!! Enjoy your day!!!! I don't know if I will be on tomorrow...too many things to do. The type of scorpions that we have are the bark scorpions; they are the only type of scorpions that can climb. They are very dangerous, and could kill a baby and make a child/adult very ill. There have been stories here of adults being hospitalized due to a scorpion sting; it's pretty potent stuff, I guess. I hope your cake turned out well!

Ken: I can't stand when people are irresponsible with sick kids. I go to the gym at times and see people's kids in the daycare with snotty noses, and it makes me crazy. They are putting their workout and health before their childs and have no consideration for the other children in there. I will not take Lane if she is sick....I forego my workout. It was interesting with Lane running around today in this beautiful spotless, non-childproof home. We didn't stay long....just long enough for her to try the food, say yuck and throw it all over the floor  . I am sure they will have us over again soon.

BOB: Glad you had a good time last night!!

Well you all know what the rest of the weekend holds for me; I'll try to check in at some point over the weekend.

Take care,
Nat

Sorry, not time to post, only a minute to ***** because I'm soooo pissed off!

I worked all morning long on this FAFSA financial aid form and saved it as I went along per the sites instructions because I had some questions for MICHAEL that I couldn't answer - went to retrieve it just a little bit ago and it's disappeared in to cyberspace somewhere. Not even the help center could help!

I'm so mad, this has to be completed by tomorrow before 2pm so I can get it in the mail - needless to say, I'll not get much sleep tonight, or up extra early tomorrow.

IT SUCKS!

Thanks for letting me rush on a ***** a bit - I always know where I can go;)

For once I think I am caught up with the posts here...lol.

Pancho : Happy early birthday! I hope you have a fantastic time with your family and friends. LOL....so Lane did leave a lasting impression on your friend? Well, our days will come when our house are spotless and childproof too, well, maybe until we have grandchildren...lol.

Bob : Sounds like you had a great time. The story on the lesbian prostitute sounds erie...lol. I was just browsing thru the local channel and came across a movie caled, "The cell", starred JLO. Gosh, what horric and strange movie. It was about a psychiatrist that entered a mind of a serial killer to find out where his latest captive is. Gosh, just horrible and now the images got stucked in my mind and when I read the storyline of the prostitute that killed many, gosh, that give me chills...lol. Guess I should watch any horror movies at night...lol.

Deb : Sorry you lost all the efforts you did on financial aid form. I lost a post today and that frustrated me so I can imagine how pissed you must be. {{hugs}} Hope you somehow manage to get this form done on time tomorrow.

Chrisd : I think you posted the cauliflower recipe a while back. I did try it and like it. I don't mind anchovies at all so it was a definitely a better way to make that plain ole' cauliflower...lol. Thanks.

Guess that's for me tonight. Hope everyone have a good weekend.

Just lost a post where I was attempting to respond to everyone! Oh well, I've got to be out of the house by 6:30 tomorrow morning to get to a meeting in B-ham. This will have to be another type-by post!

Jackie--I'm glad you've made your decision and that you feel like you had good information to help you make it! I was thinking about you tonight when I went to get my nail fill-in. She made them really pointy so I feel like I have claws--at least it will be a fair fight with Belle now!!!! Do we need to send you a phone # so DH can let one of us know when the surgery is over so we can post it on the board. You KNOW we are all going to be thinking about you!

BOB--Hope you are feeling better soon! Belle really enjoyed the black kitty that waved to her from your post!

SEF--Susan time? Susan time? what's that???? Actually I'm planning on being a slug on Sunday. I might even break out the cross stitch because I've had a hankering to work on it recently.

Monet--I'll admit to having been a little bad myself today. Don't want you to be lonely there!

Pancho--Scorpions???? ICK!

Aracyne--Hang in there--we'll be supportive even if others won't be!

Keng--Repeat after me: "Im sorry, I have plans for tonight." Even if your plans are to veg out in front of the TV, they are PLANS--thus it is not a fib!

Deb--I'll be thinking about your and your forms. We just finished our campaign finance reports for the state today, so I can sympathize!!!

Country--Have a great day!

I gotta get into bed now--5:00 will come awfully early!

Have a great OP day everyone!

Today, when I checked out my email, there was a card from my roomie. Saying that she was sorry if she had hurt my feelings, that I was motivating her to get back to exercising, and that she knows she comes on too strong with the people she loves, and asking me to bear with her. Give her diplomacy lessons (we always joke about me being the peacemaker:) ). A really good supportive note. And that is WHY we are best friends all these years, even when we screw up, we can apologize and make things better. I feel a lot better now. And I AM going to tour the community center before crossing it off the board entirely, to be fair. (Besides, I hear a new Curves is opening a lot closer to my home in a few months. It might be best to wait and sign up there:) )

Thank you for all the supportive messages, you guys. You made me feel a lot better, really. HUGS!!

MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!

It's a dreary damp day over here on the West Coast of FLA....Being out in the night air on Thursday didn't help my SINUS INFECTION!!! Today, I really feel the pressure....BUT....we're going to see the MONSTER film tonight and going for GREEK FOOD before the movie...since my teeth are still
sore, I haven't figured out what I'm going to eat...something soft! Got the word that WOODY HARRELSON and HOWIE MANDELL will be around tonight, so if CHARLISE doesn't show...I'll be satisfied!

I watched RADIO and Y'ALL HAVE GOT TO SEE THIS!!!! I found out by watching that this guy lives in ANDERSON SOUTH CAROLINA and STILL is active with the high school...Anderson is just down the road from Greenville and I can relate to the area....

I started DADDY & THEM, but of course went to sleep and woke up around 3a.m. only to turn it off....I'll have to start again...it's so funny..a BILLY BOB THORNTON movie with so many good people in it...Diane Ladd, Laura Dern, Kelly Preston, Jim Varney and Andy Griffith (as the daddy). This was filmed after SLING BLADE and then kept in the vault to be release recently. Oh Jamie Lee Curtis is in there too! I'll let y'all know.....

ARCAYNE...I agree with the DOC thing, but I definately DON't AGREE with the lady knowing in advance what you weigh and letting you make the trip only to be told you can't do anything. I think if it were me, I would get the name of the person and report that....

SUSAN...I'm on an AD mission about BARE MINERALS as I'm sure you saw with the times of the presentation...I want more people to see that this is a wonder product! I found that little kitty just for MS BELLE and I knew she would love it!

DEB...This explains why I didn't get a wake up call this morning...I'm sorry that happened to you. I know what you've been going thru to get this stuff completed by the deadline...

KEN...This movie tonight will be much more real (which it is) to this area, the woman was here in the Sarasota area picking up men, but took them north of here to do the killing. If you get a chance to see the movie, you'll see just how much of a MONSTER she really was! I found out on the news the other night about a couple in the North FLA area who actually adopted her after she was sent to prison. She started writing to her in prison and was convinced that she was innocent. When she found out that only family could visit, she and her husband adopted her as their daughter so they could go see her. It was only when she received a letter from her after she was executed and she admitted her guilt that they knew for sure she had done these terrible things. It's not a HORROR movie, but what she did was a
horror!

I'm off to get a few things done....

A brief message...I am alive, but barely. DMS has hit with a vengance, and I am feeling really cruddy. I have tons to do too.

I found out last night my computer is infected with a trojan virus that is very annoying. It keeps changing my homepage and is hard to remove. After updating my Norton Anti virus, and scanning the whole system, it looks like it came from an email about the time the board was down. I remember BOB mentioning someone's email had some virus attached that she found in her system and was able to quarantine. My Norton Anti-virus scans all outgoing mail, so my emails should be clean, but I urge anyone who was sending or receiving those 'whole board' emails to scan your system, and check for viruses. I have mailwasher, which usually catches those things, but somehow, one got through. Thankfully, its more annoying than destructive. Removal is tricky, however, since it messes with the registry. I have to call my son over for that...

Hello to everyone! Forgive me for lack of individual posts....

Ok im doing good this week...ive got the water drinking doing good. Today I bought a pilates ball and video. Im hoping next week to add that in. Im trying to add something good or take something bad out every week. So far so good.
Arcayne: Good for you!!! Im glad you got things fixed with your friend...we all have our witchy times. Guess she was having one.
Keng: I have the same problem...i think i have a tatoo on my forhead that say "ask me i cant say no". Sometimes it seems easier to lie than tell them the truth...sad but true. I guess we need to work on that to.
Gotta take my daughter and her friend to a party so ill check in later...Im still so tickled i found this place!! Where have yall been all my life!!!!!!! :D

Hi Y'all - Hope everyone is having a wonderful Saturday. I am in between basketball games and thought I would do a quick drive-thru! Not much going on - eating as been so-so. Nothing illegal, but nothing really planned either. Two clementines & a SFV Starbucks for breakfast, some peanuts, cheese and carrots for lunch (I know, I know - not enough). I'm having some H2O now and plan on bringing more with me to the next game. Snack was some "legal" SB peanut butter cookies. Like I said, not great, but legal. Tonight for dinner (which will be much more to plan) is chicken, brown rice with mixed veggies (peppers, snow peas, etc.). When I'm running around it is so hard to "plan" meals. Besides, the "good" food is running low as food shopping day is Monday :smug: Oh well - will work-out tonight and hopefully do better tomorrow.

BOB - So glad you are having fun at the festival! I envy you!

VMOORE - Way to go buying the exercise equipment - I LOVE my exercise ball.

ARCAYNE - Glad things worked out with your friend! The best relationships are the ones that are truthful!

PANCHO - In case I don't get on tomorrow . . . HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :hb: :hat: :balloons:

Okay - running again . . .

HiedieHo All!

Paid my bills, shredded a lot of papers from over the year. At least I don't have taxes to worry about as I only have SS.

Talk to our wonderful leader this morning. We are all hyped up over the trip to LA for those that have to travel. It should be a blast. I'll be the dirty old lady who will try to keep everyone in line!! Well, maybe the dirty old lady period!

MONET: We all have done that, our mouth takes in food quicker than our brain can react! Liked the FF.

TEENSY: I forgot about my checkbook "safety net". Any balance at the end of the month I ignore and I try to "pay" myself something the 3rd of each month. That way I will have emergency funds for doing things like the get together or Christmas gifts. It's something I've only been doingthe last several months. Just had a senior moment and forgot! There are a couple of things coming up with YAH and will need some moola. Is the General's chicken SB friendly?

KENGJW: Sometimes a little white lie is better than hurting someone. I think your friend needs to be told about contamination we have to be considerate of others. Believe it or not, some places have a guife line, if your temp is more than 101.2 you can't work. Always felt that is rather silly as you can still pass the "bug" around. Your little fib was in self-defense. Did you posy your casserole? It sounds good, I like concoctions......stews, soups, casseroles.

FILLISE: That's how I relax, by stitching. MY DH when we were first married couldn't understand how I could be so tired and then sit down and "work" some more. He got used to it, even sorta bragged about it. You have to take time for yourself. Ever hear of burnout?

Time to be lazy. I try to relax on weekends as I'm so busy during week, but it doesn't always work out that way.

Take care, Shirley

Hey, guys. I did NOT get out of the bed this morning and go exercise, so the guilt is eating at me. Only one way to solve that- get off the computer and pop in my 3 mile tape and get to stepping. Anyway, my eating has not been too good yesterday or today. Legal, but STARCH CITY! I pigged out on a box of low carb PB cookies yesterday, plus alot of other starches. Then today I had 2 cups of Atkins blueberry cereal(2/3 a cup is a serving) for breakfast, lunch was a chicken and cheese sandwich(2 slices of low carb bread has 10 net carbs), 6 trisuits with too much Con Queso cheese dip, AND a Carb Smart ice cream bar! So now that I have that in writing, I'm definetly exercising in a few minutes, lol. Walmart had reduced alot of their low carb stuff. The cereal is normally almost 5 bucks a box, I got it for 2 bucks(got 2 boxes), then I got the Atkins macaroni for $1.50- wonder if it tastes okay? I got the low carb cookies that I inhaled for $1.50, low carb cereal bars for $1.50(regularly almost 4 bucks). I'm glad I stopped there, lol. I have a serious issue with portion control when it comes to anything that tastes sweet. I was also happy to see that Walmart stocked SF(Nature's Own) hot dog buns. I haven't had a hot dog in ages. So that's what we will probably have for lunch tomorrow. Anyway, I bought the Crest Night Effects. It was only 13 bucks, and I had a $5 coupon, so I ended up getting them for 8 bucks. And I bought a new pair of exercise pants for 10 bucks. Got a couple misc. items from Hudson's and now I'm broke again. The other day I was telling my friend that I wish Leslie Sansone would come out with a 4 mile tape. Some days I just feel like I could do a little more..well, got home and she called me from Walmart and told me that she had the 4 mile Express tape in her hand! Great news, but too bad I already spent all my personal money. It'll just have to wait until next week. Thought I would pass along the info to all you WATP doers. And it's under 10 bucks. The next thing I plan to buy(besides the tape) is a basic step from Walmart($24). I'm ready to get these last 25 pounds off! It won't happen as long as I'm overdoing it on the starches though, lol. Oh yea, I gave the cashier my Driver's License and she asked me if that was even me! I gotta admit that felt good. I get new one's next month. I normally hate DL pics, but I plan to smile BIG! WARNING< WARNING<...next Saturday will be an awful day of eating for me! It's Ashley's 8th Bday. She picked out a pretty Barbie cake. So we're going to have the works- hamburgers, chips, cookies, cake and ice cream! Oye, I better get to exercising!!

Pancho- I may not get on the computer tomorrow, so I'll go ahead and wish you A VERY WONDERFUL BIRTHDAY! It's your day tomorrow, so go ahead and shine.

Okay - I have a confession. It is a BIG one. I took a big ole nose dive into the candy cubbard tonight. Really, really bad. Gumdrops and DOTS and come chocolate. PMS? Probably - due in a week or so. Will power? Absolutely not. I have no one to blame but myself and if I had just taken the time to plan out my meals today, it probably wouldn't have happened. But it did and I'm done. I have made a promise and a resolution to myself that starting tomorrow I am going to write down everything I put in my mouth and to plan my meals beforehand. Am I ashamed? A little - but it happens and I know I'm not alone. If anything, hopefully this will just make me stronger in the weeks to come. In fact, we have another very busy day tomorrow but I am already planning . . . 1/2 grapefruit for breakfast with some coffee and then after my shower one slice of SGWW toast with some legal pb. Snack will be a yogurt - lunch will be the left over brown rice, chicken and veggies from tonight and dinner - chicken and a big salad. And at least 48 ounces of water if not more. Okay - I said and now I have to do it. Thanks for letting me confess . . . I feel better ;)

TEENSY - So sorry I didn't wish you a happy birthday before! HAPPY BIRTHDAY! :hb: :hat: :balloons:

There is something irresitable about peanut butter sour cream frosting. My fingers had a mind of their own and my mouth didn't mind at all. :) I even made a healthy sugar free WW oatmeal fruit betty. I had a bite of that but after the frosting, well let's say blah...it will be really good tomorrow when I don't have the taste of sugar in my mouth. I'm letting bad scale numbers influence me. It's kinda like, I'm eating good, walking or video and I'm still staying the same or gaining, might as well indulge. Of course I know this is wrong but this is the cycle I am in right now.

Arcayne...I'm glad you and your friend made up. There is nothing like a friend who is a friend no matter what. My best friend moved and I sure miss her.

Hey Suzy, have any chocolate left? I still have a tad of the peanut butter frosting... :D sssshhh Don't tell I'm trying to corrupt you. LOL

HeartMom...neat on the video. I want the walking away the abs set. I haven't seen it at a good price yet so it's still a no go. Good for you having some energy left after the 3 mile. The 3 mile just about does me in. I'm plenty hot when it's over.

Bob..sorry you are feeling punny again. I hope you feel better soon.

Monet...sorry to hear that you aren't feeling well either and that you caught a computer virus. Those things are a pain. I scan incoming and outgoing along with my nightly scans. You never can be too careful.

Vmoore...I wish I could stop at 4 tricuits..I'm terrible. I can only have them every blue moon because I have so little self control.

Love and hugs to everyone.

Okay, so I get up early to start working on this FAFSA financial aid crap AGAIN:mad: and wouldn't you know, with my luck, the site is down from 5am-11am for scheduled maintenance! Geez, can't a gal get a friggin break??? :nono:

I'm headed back to bed - or so I hope. ELI is off today, going to go to Broward, haven't been forever it seems, need to buy some food today - house is barren. Wish it as barren of the mess that's in it AGAIN!

MICHAEL'S friend SUZY who he's known since 2nd grade and is going with him and another friend JING-JING to see WASH U., got accepted to YALE - they want her so bad they didn't even wait til the usual time to accept her which is in April. She's #2 in the school, very smart and very involved in community. MICHAEL has his Yale interview tomorrow afternoon.

I will be back on the board tomorrow morning to start and try and get in a post, though I'm not sure that I have much to post - life has been very boring other than running kids here and there and me screaming at the computer!

I don't work but I pretty much find myself cooking the same stuff over and over *shrug* Like Pancho ? said, I get sick of deciding what to make all the time.
I do major crockpot cooking in the winter.

Melf
I've been getting the same messages as you. Thank gawd for virus protection!!

Suzyb
That Relay for Life sounds like a lot of fun! I assume it's held when the weather is warmer? I'd be a bit chilly sleeping outside now LOL

Pancho
Oh man I don't think I could handle the scorpion thing! I'd wear myself out cause I'd be constantly wandering around looking for them. I drive my family insane if I know there is a mosquito in the house!
Happy Birthday! :hb:

It's fun when the electric goes out sometimes but 3 days is way to long! Your eating the starchy carb in the morning and afternoon and not at night does work. If you can limit it to just morning that is even better!

Arcayne
Sounds like an aggravating day! I'm glad your friend apologized.

I didn't think curves was really aerobic?
Well don't let all the negativity stop you! Can you get like a 3 or 6 month membership or will it have to be a year?
Read this post on the main board about curves:

I saw Cell with J-low a few years ago. Defiantly a strange movie!

BOB
I loved that movie SLING BLADE with Billy Bob! He did an excellent job in that film.

Heartmom
You are kicking butt with the workouts! I think what happens is your body gets used to being a certain weight. Now you are trying to get rid of it and your body is trying to hang on to it. Then you are burning all those calories and your body does not want to dip into the fat stores so it's making you crave carbs for the extra energy your expanding. Make sense?

I've been trying to get a post for 2 days now! I had the deb luck and was reading posts at 3 am Friday night and was read to post and the site went down for scheduled maintenance LOL
Then Saturday I cleaned from 10 am to 10 PM because I was upset because my cnsv site went down because the @#$&* company did not notify me my address registration was due to renew on the 29th and there is nothing I can do till Monday so I had my board down, e-mail group down and site down because the address does not point to my site right now.
My poor people are all freaked out. I feel so bad. So when I'm upset I clean. Better then eating! Between the dog dying a few weeks ago and this new mess, I won't need to do spring cleaning!

Good Sunday morning:

Thank you all for the wonderful birthday wishes. My birthday has been typical; my dh gives me a card he bought last minute with a Toby Keith CD this morning, and that was it. No breakfast in bed, no birthday cake (probably a good thing), no flowers, no Ab Scissor....I guess my family always made too much out of birthdays, and I expect a bit more. For DH's birthday, we do decorations, cakes, gifts, etc....Brittany made me a birthday card at school because DH hadn't taken her out yet to buy a card. That was the most special part of my day. Alright, enough of my pouting!

We had a fabulous time at Disney Princesses on Ice; they did an incredible job putting it all together. We were in row 5 and were able to see everything well. Lane was entertained, so even though she was tired, she was still pretty good. We then went to the Mezcal restaurant for Mexican food, and I decided to splurge.....what a disappointment; they food was not very good, but way too expensive. We spent $75 for the 4 of us, and Lane & Britt shared a meal. DH had a margarita and I drank water. What a disappointing way to spend $75. I did have an iced tea and lots of popcorn during the show. Oh well....it's a new day, and a new year, for me!

Deb: So terribly sorry you lost that app on the computer; how frustrating that must have been. And then to not be able to get back on....could it be a sign? Congrats to Suzy on her acceptance....I can't wait to see where Michael gets accepted; he'll probaby have to decide between 2 or 3 prestigious colleges to attend. Good luck to him!!! We miss you, but glad to see you pop in from time to time....can't wait until life slows down for you!

Monet: Sorry that virus got you. I am trying to remember to run my McAfee every day, but haven't. I will do it when I get off here.

vmoore: enjoy that pilates ball. The weekends are always the toughest for me. During the week, I am on schedule and am so busy I don't have time to sit around and snack all day.

sef: Enjoy your trip to LA.

heart: I got my driver's license renewed a few months ago, and for the first time in a long time, I didn't lie about my weight  . I hope your daughter has a great birthday next weekend.

Suzy: That sweet gooey fruity stuff never tempts me....it's the chocolately, nutty, caramely stuff that I am tempted by. Just put it behind you and move on. If you commit to eat this way for life, there are going to be times that you splurge...it's human. As long as we get back on track and don't fall back into that eating pattern, we will always pull out ahead.

Country: Thanks for the beautiful banner; I love it!!! I totally understand your rationale about the frosting. When you work your arse off exercising and eating right, and the scale doesn't reward you, you have to find another way to reward yourself. The numbers will start to go down, sometimes it takes a while to catch up.

I am going to run out to the grocery store soon, and probably get some stuff to make burgers tonight. That's something DH can eat in front of the tv during the Super Bowl.

It's a pretty cool day here today; it's not supposed to get about 60. I love this weather!!!

Well, have a wonderful rest of your weekend and a fabulous week ahead.

Take care,
Nat

Evening! I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow morning. I am hoping he will tell me to go back to Sugarbusters, but I am afraid it could go the other way for two reasons....1, my insulin levels were not low enough, or 2, they dropped significantly, and he will think Atkins will be better to follow for a while longer. I do like the food you can have on Atkins, but I miss having the whole grains, like bread and all. This has been a PITA.

I have had a rough day, with a headache, increased vertigo and just general malaise. I don't want to whine though. I am not sure what the scoop will be at the doctor's tomorrow. I want so badly to see a good loss, but I am afraid that will not happen. My scale doesn't seem down at all. I am frankly rather frustrated about it.

Will check in tomorrow when I get home....

Hey!

Gosh – I’ve been MIA for a couple days and I’ve got so much to catch up on! I’m going to just skim posts and briefly post to a few of you so that I can go watch the Super Bowl commercials – not the game! Did anyone see the one where the horse farted on the lady – too funny!

My eating has been HORRID! I even drank plenty this weekend. So, tomorrow is a brand new day!

MELF: On the Monday that I’m riding I have to be in Houma for 8 am for breakfast – in full costume. Then we board a bus that has the top cut off on the back half. We ride around and bar hop all day. Then around 5 we go to the float and get our beads and stuff organized. We don’t work on the float itself because we rent those from New Orleans and they are beautiful. We just head back and start unpacking beads, etc. It’s basically an entire day of drinking and acting stupid – which I’m really good at!

SEF: The dates are: Feb 21 – or 20th if you want to come Friday – through the 24th. I figured that y’all could entertain yourselves – but I was just wondering – you know if I should plan some type of activity centered around Mardi Gras/Cajun culture for those that have never been here. Just as long as y’all are here and ready for around 4 so that y’all can come to my parade!! Whoopee!

PANCHO: I can’t believe that you had a scorpion in your house! How scary! All I get are roaches! Sometimes they are so big they look like they have been on steroids! HA! Glad you were able to get it!

DEB: I saw I missed your calls this weekend. Yesterday I was at Norm’s (Daiq. Shop) and today I was at my friends working on Mardi Gras costumes. It’s getting closer!! I’m still in awe of how many Ivy League colleges Michael has interviews with. That is incredible. I know you must be so proud of him. What is it that he wants to do for his future career?

JACKIEO: I’m so glad you got the day off on Lundi Gras! Now you can par tay with us and come to my parade!!

TEENSY & PANCHO – Happy Birthday! I hope you had a wonderful day!

JACK-K I totally apologize for not getting you my friends e-mail address yet! I’m glad that you were able to talk to someone about things! My thoughts and prayers are with you this week. Keep us posted on everything – OK?

BOB: 19 days and counting!!!

Let me run – I’ll see you tomorrow

Love
Missy
