Well, hello to you out there.

I hope you're all still there :comp:

Hi Christie, Leanne, and Ricci

How have you all been? Well, I was away for most of this mess, but I thought it would be fixed by the time I got back, but it wasn't, wow. :yikes: Must have been some crash.

Well, I don't know if you got the message I left before, but I had the surgery and it went well. I've recovered quite well :) On Jan 7th I was 189.5, I had lost 3.5 pounds in 6 days. I have gained 1.5 pounds since I went in for surgery, but I do think it's just from the surgery as my abdomen is still rather distended. :p But I still am 2 pounds less than New Years, so I'm still happy.

So how have you all been fighting the battle of the bulge? I'm sure you're all doing well as you have done so well in the past. But every pound is a fight eh. :dz:  I wish it was easy, but it's not meant to be I guess.

Well, I should go as I'm doing laundry, been gone for 4 days and now I need to clean the mess. :wizard: I need some magical help..........

Hey what's up with that? I was checking out other threads and saw that you've been on since the 7th. I have been away for several days and tried to get on last night and I couldn't. It said something about the server and the crash......hmmmmm......I don't know :?:

Sorry I've been gone so long, it couldn't be helped

Hey all,
I haven't been working out. I hurt my back in a major way. Not sure what i did, I suppose it was lifting weights. I have been still drinking my water and eating like I have been, and haven't gained any weight. I hope I can exercise in a day or two. I miss it. I hope you all are doing well. Diana, glad to hear your surgery went well. Talk to you all later.

Hi Ricci
Sorry to hear about your back, I hope it heals up soon. Take it easy for a while, but don't let it seize up. Keep up with the water and diet and maybe you'll lose some weight slowly. I biked today, it didin't bother my incision at all :D I am very ahppy with that.
Well, have a good evening.

Hi LAdies

Diana, not to worry here I am....

I am just back to the gym now, starting weight training and training for my run...(okay it is now the OFFICIAL start to my run training...)
My diet is still the same as it is still working well for me, and because I am so used to it, seems very easy and it is what I consider more "normal" eating...
I weighed in today at 144.4..YAY!! So far I am down 70.6lbs and loving it!
I still have about 14-20 lbs left, but I will be losing it slower as I am trying to build muscle and TONE UP this mangled body of mine. My pre-pregnancy clothes finally fit, so I have been playing "fashion show", some of my clothes still have the tags on them because I bought them last year then got pregnant and FAT.
Things in my life seem to be getting better....I am able to play with my boys, handle stress better and keep the house somewhat organized because I am not concentrating on food, food, food, nor am I OBSESSED with dieting....I honestly feel so much better than I have in a LONG time...
Okay, enough from me...
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Tuesday.
Ricci- so sorry to hear about the back, but great news that you are sticking to good eating. Stay positive!

Diana- Glad to see surgery went well way to go on the 2 pounds :D

Hi all

Christie, I've lost posts before as well and it really sucks. My sympathy is with you. How are things going with the South Beach Diet? Can you sum up how it works in a sentence or two?

Ricci, how's the back? I hope it heals up fast for you :D

Leanne, you wonderwoman you, I'm truly happy for you that you're feeling so good now. I'm looking forward to having energy and being able to do stuff again. It will be nice.

Well, I exercised yesterday and today. Yeah for me. Sad thing is that I ate almost all my points already today. I only have 6 left. It's my own fault. And I didn't even enjoy eating it all :( Good thing we're having porkchops for supper becasue I don't really care for them that much.

Well, I hoep you all do well today, I'll check in again tonight.

Hey Diana,
I absolutley LOVE the SBD....in a nutshell, It is like atkins except there are more carbs for 2 weeks but no fruits or breads...then it moves to a phase 2 which includes those things but still no regular sugars...there is a food list on this forum under SBD that gives the lists of foods...one thing for certain I am NEVER hungry and I am losing pounds and inches :D Hope this helps  remember there are lots of 0 point foods you can use to get over the hump tonight !!

I'll have to check it out on this site.
How are you doing with no sugar? I'm a severe sugaraholic. I don't think I could cut out sugar. I incorporate my sweets into WW, with 1 point cookies. Are you doing better on SBD than on WW?
Well, I should be off to bed.

Hello,
My back is healed completely. I missed working out so much. I did get my workout this morning, and decided to jump on here before working on the house. Christie and Leanne, you guys are doing great. I wish I was losing weight that quickly. I did try on some shorts this morning from last summer, and they were waaaaaaaaaaaay too big. Yeah. Can't wait to go shopping.Diana, I too am a sugarholic. I have cut back on sweets and sugar in general, but sometimes I just need a candy bar. You too seem to be doing well on losing weight. Keep it up girls. Chat at you later.

Christian
01-14-2004, 01:27 PM
Diana- I am doing WAY better with the south beach and WW combined! I do get to incorperate fruits and whole grains back in my diet in about 4 days ...And my sugar cravings were gone after the first five days...and I am one of the worst sugarholics there ever was  I used to eat 1 pt candy all day and hardly ate real food just so sugar and I could be together

Ricci- Glad to see your healed .....and way to go on those shorts!!! Feels great doesnt it :D:D:D

DewCan
01-15-2004, 01:12 AM
Cute smilies, eh :)

Congrats Ricci on the shorts, that kind of engouragement is just as good or even better than numbers going down on the scale :cb::cb::cb: I'm glad your back is better, that sure didn't take too long. Some back injuries take so long to heal. But even a day with a sore back is too long. :D

Christie, maybe I could try that some day, or try Leanne's diet. They seem to work for you two. I know jsut what you mean, I find that I eat less good food so that I can eat my cookies and other sugar. I know that's not good for me either. I didn'treally realize that I was doing it :o Maybe now I can try to get more of that food group in.

Well, tomorrow is my official weigh in day. I'll be down, as I have now become a sclae addict like the rest of you. But we'll have to see how much. I also have WW tomorrow evening. I'll jsut go for the weigh in as I'm going ot a Postpartum Depression Support Group in the evening. The first time I'm going. I've been doing better for a month now, haven't been thinking of suicide. My self worth is still low, but my outlook is not so bleak anymore. Well, :blah:

Do you weigh tomorrow as well Christie, you used to right?

Well, goodnight

Okay ladies,

I KNOW those sugar cravings can be BRUTAL, yet I will tell you what always helps me...Sometimes, you just need something sweet right?? Okay, when this happens I'll buy Cinnamon Dentyne OR Orange TicTacs, and Believe it or not a few pieces of gum or a few tictacs actually do the trick.,...both are LOW LOW on sugar and calories, but give me just enough sugar to satisfy me..
Okay, I hope this helps... :dizzy: Sugar can be a monster sometimes.

I did weight training yesterday on my lower body and BOY AM I SORE...BUT, I am going to work through the pain and run today...
Hope everyone is having a GREAT thursday!

Hi all

Leanne, Good for you to show your before picture. It takes some self confidence to do it and you have built yourself lots by losing all the weight. You're a beautiful person and have an adorable baby :bb: My boy is so big already, he's almost 8 months. Where is the after picture? I'm sure it looks completely different. You must get a lot of comments and compliments. I'm truly happy for you. And Way to go apon the weight workout. I'm sure you'll feel a bit better in a bit. Although this kind of sore is always a happy sore
My current picture and before picture probaly don't look too different  but soon they will. My sister in law noticed today that I had lost weight. That was nice. My DH hasn't said anything yet, but he's not the most sensitive and doesn't ntoice things usually.

Well, I'm down 2 pounds this week. I'm happy with that. Now I have reached the 180's and will never see the 190's again. Not even if I was 9 months pregnant with triplets, it just won't happen :D:lol::D I have WW tonight, so we'll see what the news is on that scale, I haven't been there in a month, meetings were cancelled over the holidays and I missed last week due to my surgery. I'm sure I'll be down, but I'm always nervous. :stress:

Have a good day all

Leanne,
WOW :cb: WOW :cb: WOW :cb: WOW:cb: WOW
You look fantastic!! My jaw dropped when I saw the picture!!! What an encouragement. For you to get those last pounds off that you want (although it looks like there is no need) and for me who is looking still very much like my before picture :^: . Oh and as for not seeing the picture, I never looked past page 1, silly me :o

Well, I was down at WW tonight, I hadn't been there in 1 month and I was down 2 pounds, that's not bad considering Christmas was during that time. I'm considering not renewing my WW membership, it's very pricy and even though my owrk will cover it, I would rather they give me something else, like time at the massage place. They will only cover a certain amount and we get to pick where we spend it. It's a great thing we have at work but I think this is the last year due to cutbacks. I have all the program materials and get lots of support form my friends online, and have friends here that are on the program too. So what do you guys think? By the way, I don't like the leader, and we have to pay all 12 weeks in advance and they are consecutive weeks and if I miss a week, then I'm just out that money. I think it all sort of sucks. I'm moving soon (for 2 months) and to a city, and maybe there I can just pay weekly. I'd like to go every other week, I think I would like that better.... :blah: :blah: Yes, I'll stop now.

Well, I hope you all ahve a good day tomorrow, I won't be checking in till late. Have a busy day planned away from home.

To those of you who have lost weight (in other words not me yet  )
I watched Oprah a while ago and there were some people who had lost a lot of weight and had an amazing amount of skin just hanging loosely on them. This is now a fear I have  :stress:  Are you noticing any loose skin? Even to a small degree?

Diana

I was SO worried about losing weight and being left with nothing but hanging skin....I was mentally preparing for the fact that I would probably never look the way I wanted to...YET, MUCH MUCH MUCH to my surprise my skin is going back to where it should be....I think it is because of all the exercise I have been doing while losing the weight, yet it could also be because I am 25...although, I do have a few "problem " areas, but they are there no matter what my weight is.....I honestly think if you incorporate weight training in your fitness schedule it can eliminate some of the saggy skin...
Okay...I hope everyone is having a FANTASTIC friday!
I am off to go grocery shopping........YUCK....(it's too cold out)

Hi all
Happy Saturday
My favorite day of the week. :spin:
Christie, I've seen you on some of those other threads, so I knew you hadn't disappeared. I know what you mean, the more threads you have to check the longer it takes every time you go to the computer. But I do enjoy it. I'm really enjoying my baby now, Christie. He's growing so fast I would like to pause it right now becasue he is at such a wonderful stage. Time goes too fast. He's almost 8 months now :?: where did the time go:?:
Have a good Saturday all

Sorry I didnt reply to your question :dizzy:
I too have a problem with the price at WW...since I am not working anymore I cantr afford to pay for meetings I miss! I think you could just do the program at home, you have all the info and the massage would be alot less stressful  Plus you have all of us here to help you and to weigh in with, whatever you decide will be the right thing;) And I cannot believe the baby is 8 months old already!!!!!!!!!! Leanne, aren't they so cute at this age. I wish I could put everything on pause. :D Way to go with the weights, time for toning. I'm still waiting for my videos, Idont' know what is taking so long, Patience

Ricci, you'll start losing again soon, maybe try a different exercise. Or maybe you're like me and it's TOM. Oh, fun.

Hi Christie, I have decided that when I move I will join TOPS. My sister just joined and I will go with her. I'm looking forward to being close to my sister again.

There is a TOPS here, but the same people have been going for 15-20 years and still haven't lost weight, in fact some have gained. I'm sure there are a couple that have lost, but I've gone before and it was lousy. The contests were non-existant, and I don't know, just not too good all around. But I'm sure the one my sister goes to will be better :spin:

Well, I ate my 24 points today and exercised, drank some water, ate some veggies. I did very well today, to bad it took till tuesday...Thursday is not far away. I think I have lost a little anyways, you peeking like I do (we all do  ).

:bb: Yeah, baby is now screaming all the time, not crying but screaming for the sound of it, I know you Mom's will know what this is about, but I still find it very cute, and loud

Hey, I will tell my sister about this site, maybe she's interested. I know I need the supprot I get form you guys. Maybe she can find a group here that meets her needs. :chin:

Well, I should surf some more, have a good night all.

Diana, have you made a decision about W.W. yet? if its any consolation i lost more weight when i quit going to meetings and started doing it alone :D i was sick of paying $13 per meeting to just weigh-in :( the support was :censored: it was very clicky and the same ones got the praise for losing while others of us who had lost were'nt even acknowledged :( i decided that the $130 i'd paid on ten weeks meetings could have bought me a nice little piece of exercise equipment or something to wear so i quit :D

Yes Ladies, I did it!

Today I went for my run....

5km was my goal....but then came 6km, then 7km then 8km then 9km and finally 10KM........I DID IT, I RAN 10KM....I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!

My feet are so sore....blisters and all, but it is SO WORTH IT!!!!

SO I ran 10km in 92 minutes....Can you believe it? 92 minutes of STRAIGHT running....WOW, hope I dont feel TOO bad in the morning....but again, it really is all WORTH IT....

It is really funny though, I KNEW with training I would be able to run it, I just didnt KNOW I had it in me not to give up....and I mean I really WOULD NOT let myself give up today and I fought for the last 2km it was a mental struggle more than anything, part of me saying you did enough and the other part saying what an accomplishment to KNOW you ran 10km...
Sorry to toot my own horn but this (other than having my boys) is one of my greatest accomplishments ever!

Leanne :)

Leanne, :bravo: :balloons:  WELL DONE!! Wow, 10k is that about 6mls? i'm only guessing that because i know that 50klms on my speedometer is equal to 30mls an hour :dizzy: or near enough  what a fantastic achievement :D is this an outdoor run that you did? do you plan to do it again? or was it just a goal that you wanted to achieve? CONGRATULATIONS once again!

Yeah, we're combined. :cheer: Ricci meet Cathy a friend from another thread. Cathy meet Ricci, the rest of us you know ;)

Leanne, my mouth dropped open when I read your post. I'm serious. I am absolutely shoked :faint: Although I shouldn't be as you are superwoman :spin: That is just fantastic. I would love to run that someday, but as I've said before, I can't run, at least not yet. I have rather large breasts and would knock myself out if I tried  That is such an accomplishment. WOW, you are amazing. I am so impressed :balloons: :encore: How long have you been training for this? Was this on a treadmill, or so you just have better weather than we do?

Cathy, thanks for closing the other thread, I wonder if we'll gte a ny stragglers from the other thread there. No one else had posted in ages :?: So did you have another good day? I had my third good day in a row now. We'll have to see who can do this the longest ;) A little competition. Maybe we could have a challenge between all of us and see how long we can do it? That would motivate me, how about the rest of you? For example mine would be drinking water, exercising, staying within my points, situps, daily. So Cathy, you're a Grandma, tell us about the little ones, how many are there? We like to hear about babies :bb:

Ricci, where are you girl, missing you. You better not be off track :nono:

Christie, well, how was weigh in? Don't keep it a secret now

Oh and by the way, I made my decision today. I will not renew my membership at WW. I ahve been thinking about my supports for weight loss, an there are quite a few that are more important to me than that group. I have you guys, twice a day. I have my husband who helps me, my sister just joined the weight loss wagon, and I have friends that I could go to if I wanted. The few last straws that made my decision are Christie and Cathy saying stuff about the money, and it is very expensive. I regard my own scale number much higher than the WW one, and some of the people there bug me, including the leader  I was talking with one of my friends at WW and we're thinking of starting our own little group in a home and jsut us all pitching in a getting a scale, I'm not too sure about that, but I just don't think I need to support a "for profit" organization with my weight problem. I think I'll join tops when I move and go with my sister. :blah: Sorry, I did really go on. I've just been debating this for a while now, and am happy that I have made a decision. :spin: now I do need you guys to keep me on track :drill:

So I was down 1 pound this week, I'm happy with that as I was not good for 4 days and then good for only 3. I'll have to get a move on if I want to reach my Valentines's Day goal. 6 pounds in 23 days, that's a lot.

Leanne, you should reward your run with a massage tomorrow when you're sore, it might make you feel better. Tomorrow's pain will be the best pain you've felt :dizzy: I'm still thinking about your accomplishment and all I can say is WOW YOU DID IT

Talk to you all tomorrow

Thank you all for being so enthusiastic with me about my run...makes me feel really good... :D
Yes, it is SO COLD here that I would be NUTS to go and run in the snow...YUCK!! We have a really GREAT indoor track here at the army gym so I run there...It is GREAT!! SO the 10km was just to prove to myself that I CAN do it....In MAY, I will be running in a 10km race (probably in Toronto, I have picked it officially yet) and my goal is just to finish...SO I will have to train more and more and get more speed and endurance...but now that I know I can do it, I am more psyched than EVER.
Cat- Yes I think 10km is about 6.4 miles...
Diana- I too have a larger chest, but since I have been running it has shrunk to a "comfortable" size....but I think I told you before, I still where 2 bras to hold them in place...
Best part of all....I am NOT NEARLY as sore as I thought I would be....which gives me hope for the next time I run...
I really must say that I was NEVER a runner...but this is something I wanted to try and am SO happy I did....
Okay, I am really sorry to babble on and on so much...
thats it for me!
Happy Friday to all...

Glad you're not too sore Leanne;) I had forgotten about the two bras
Way to go Christie on the loss, that's great. You're only 7 away from goal now. You're doing so good :bravo:

Hi Girls

Diana, I won't be able to take part in the mini challenge this week cos i'm going to a party tomorrow night  but i'm not going to go mad  i'm definitely going to eat whats on offer but i think i'll be drinking diet coke because so far i'm planning on driving. I will be in on the 6lbs for V-Day tho' cos i'm going home to visit my family shortly after that and i wanna lose a few more before then ;) Olivia (my grand-daughter is 13mths old  and is such a character  i'm bound to see a big change in her since last August  i wonder if she'll remember me? i doubt it although she was always laughing at me..maybe it will all come back to her when i start pointing my camera at her

The scale had a lucky escape from you know what :rollpin: this week and showed me a loss of 3lbs :cheer: so all the hard work is paying off ;)

 @ the 2 bra's Leanne..i would never have thought of doing that!

Diana, Leanne, and Christie,
I am definatley still here, and no, not off track. My boys have gotten really really bad colds, again. :censored: They have only been well for about two weeks.
Hi, Cathy. Nice to get to know you. I have kind of stalled on losing weight. I think when I get my tax return, I am going to buy some sort of pilates dvd and switch that with my aerobics. My hardest thing is eating. Not calorie wise, but what I eat.
Leanne, I can't belive anyone could run that far. Good for you that you finished it. :encore: :cheer: :balloons: :dancer: Well, I hope you all have a good day, and weekend. I will really try to post in here more often.

Hi ladies

Cathy, way to go, :bravo: 3 pounds in one week, that is awesome. All the work pays off in the end. How much have you lost now? Whatever you're doing, keep it up :spin: wouldn't it be nice to see the same result next week? I love the name Olivia, it was one of the names I wanted if we had a girl. But then our neighbors had a baby a few months before we did and named her Olivia, good thing we had a boy  Although I'm still shocked we had a boy, I was expecting a girl :?:

Ricci, nice to hear from you again. My sympathy goes out to you and your boys. Sickness is no fun :( Speaking of tax return, I don't enjoy doing my taxes (reminds me of what the big man takes) but I sure do like the return :dizzy: I'm sure we'll put it against the mortgage, but even that is fun.

I've had 4 good days in a row. :spin: that's unusual for me  Usually the day after weigh in ends up being a free for all, but not this time :D I'll try for a good week. I got a situp thingy yesterday. It helps support the neck while doing situps. I did them for the first time since the surgery and it felt fine. I could have done it sooner but I was a bit too chicken.

Christie, how'd you do with the laundry and housework? I got all mine done except wash the floor, and then I went and checked our water level, and it was almost empty. :stress: It's not supposed to go under 6" and it's at 1.5". We get our water hauled. It could have done damage to our water system if I had kept using it (I hope it hasn't wrecked anything already). Well, so now I can't wash the floor ;) I didn't have time today anyway, I guess I'll do it tomorrow after the water man comes. :blah:

Well, have a good night, and day tomorrow.

Diana

Cathy- way to go n the 3 pounds !!! That is really good for a week...that definatley shows hard work, and hard work equals reward :D

Ricci- sorry to hear about the boys being sick again ....I have the same problem with my 10 year old...she gets sick and stays sick about all winter some years , But in the summer she usually feels great...go figure :dizzy:

Diana- I am still not done with the laundry  You are way ahead of me ...

Hi Girls,

Diana, confession time for me :o as you know i was in on the new years challenge that Jenn did and was doing OK but christmas is just the wrong time of year for me to try and lose weight :nono: i was bad  so what i lost i gained back  and the last time i really really tried hard to lose it was in 2001!! and i lost 30lbs :cb: only to gain that back too  anyway, i'm no longer on a diet i'm changing my eating habits for better ones that i can follow for good :D

Hi Ricci, nice to meet you too :high: i've been meaning to ask you what you think of the Power 90 tapes..are they really good? the website is awesome and i'm fighting the urge to buy the tapes  in case they are'nt that good. Hope the boys get well soon.

Diana, yeah Petawawa is on the news right now because of the soldiers coming home from Afghanistan. I guess some got home last night after their 6 month tour. It's funny, the base has felt so dead for the past 6 months or so because some guys went to Afghanistan and others went to Bosnia, it'll be weird to have so many people back here again.......But, always glad the guys come home safe and sound. Last year when we lived in Edmonton the guys there were just coming back from Afghanistan too...luckily, my husband hasn't had to go away yet.

Okay enough from me..
My scale loves me today....141.8.....

Hi Ladies,

oh right Leanne, that's what it was. I meant to ask you if you were involved in the military. I lived in Edmonton for 5 years, 1996-2001. Did you live at the garrison? Wow, you are doing so good with the weight loss. You are my weight loss hero :dizzy:

Cathy, I'm glad you're doing well. I'm not doing so well. I used my activity points and 3 flexpoints yesterday. Okay that wouldn't be bad, but I followed it with a day of not counting points and eating like mad. I will have to sit down and count my points yet, if I remember everything. I was at my in-laws all day, and she's a great cook. But I did exercise and did my situps, I won't ever miss that ;) So how are you enjoying the 150's Cathy? I'm certainly jealous, but very happy that you're there :bravo:

Hope you had a good Sunday Christie and Ricci

Well, I'll talk to you ladies tomorrow.

Cathy, I am not sure if my scale has a sister but I will ask her tomorrow morning...*L* (she is a digital one from Walmart...she's like one of the family, especially considering we have a male dominated family, I need another female around-especially one who tells me what I want to hear)

Diana, when we were in edmonton April '02- Jan '03 we lived in Greisbach...it wasn't too bad...where did you live?? Yes, my hubby is in the Army, he is a Dragoon now (armoured)...
Hero?? heheh, thanks! I think that is the BEST compliment I have recieved in a LONG LONG time...thank you! Hey, if I could help one person with ANYTHING, I have done my job as a human...

Not as if that will make up for yesterday. I ate all my Flexpoints in two days. Usually I try not to use my flexpoints. Today is a new day......How often do you exercise Leanne? Diana and Christie, just write those days off and start afresh :D its too late to do anything about it now so dust yourself off and get right back to it ;) i don't think its possible to gain weight overnight..i'm serious  i think its water retention or salt or something..you'll soon get rid of it :D

Leanne, i've got a digital but she can be a right *itch at times  thats why i keep this :rollpin: handy.

BTW, Diana i'll feel a lot better about being in the 150's when i'm in the mid range instead of teetering on the brink of the 160's :yikes: come on girl don't forget the V-Day Goal ;) we've still got time..YOU CAN DO IT!

Hi, all.
You all are doing so well on losing weight. I wish my scale was going down instead of staying the same. Don't know what else to do. My boys are almost done with their cold. WE had a snow storm here last night, and now its freezing outside. Can't wait for spring. Have a good day.

That's great Christie, a relief, eh? How was today?
Ricci, I'm with you there on the Spring wishing :cloud9: My scale isn't really moving, I might be down a half a pound this week, if I'm good for the next 2 days :stress: Our snow fall has finally stopped, we've gotten a lot lately, but now the cold snap has started. Right now it's -41degrees celcius, and that's not considering the wind chill. The only thing I know about farenheit is that -40F is the same as -40C. We've had no school for the last 2 days and I really doubt tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm not venturing outside. I had an okay eating day, but I used my activity points, and I wish I hadn't. Oh well, tomorrow's a new day,
Cathy, when is your weigh day?
Leanne, I heard the news about the soldier form Petawawa, that must hit too close to home. I'm sorry. I feel so bad for the family. Loss is always difficult. I hope those that were injured will recover quickly.

I must admit, I have been avoiding "life" for the past few days.......

I found out I am pregnant...........AGAIN........it's been exactly 6 months and here I am again, pregnant....Shock is just starting to wane....yet, I am still an emotional roller coaster....ugh, still not too sure how I am feeling...
As far as I can tell I will be due sometime in September so at least my baby will be over a year old by then....I am frustrating, but EXTREMELY determined, not to gain a whole lot of weight...
SO anywho, thats it for me.

Wow, Leanne, that IS news. :bb: :balloons: :hat: Cathy is right, they will be wonderful playmates. How are you feeling? Hopefully not too sick or anything. Don't worry about the weight, try to eat healthy, and as you have shown that you have tons of willpower, I'm sure you'll do great. And I noticed that you are so close to the 130's, way to go on the loss. Try to hit the 130's before you slowly gain a baby tummy :D In a year, you'll be back there for a longer period this time ;)

Cathy, thanks, but baby is back to the crabbiness. I know there is something wrong, but I don't know what. I ahve things on my "to do" list, and it's hard to get them done with him like this. I guess I should just not get frustrated with not getting stuff done and just hold him and try to make his tears go away. Yes, it is kind of shocking, but you both are so supportive- thank you, that was EXACTLY what I needed to read this morning and now I am feeling better....Yes, I hate this "morning sickness" which isnt necessarily coming in the morning, but I am determined to make the best of it...
I think one of the reasons I am so uneasy about being pregnant, was last summer I felt like I could not do ANYTHING with my son, I felt like the worst mom ever b/c when he wanted to go outside, I wanted to sleep, or sit down...but, I guess I have learned from that and hopefully, by continuing to workout I hope it doesnt happen like that again.............AND, I just put all my maternity clothes away..UGH, guess I need to break them out again...(hopefully they will be way way way too big for me)
Okay, enough about me, thanks again for your support...

Well, i'm depressed :( I did'nt exercise yesterday or today because i don't feel very well (i've got terrible pains in my stomach and kidneys) and i got weighed this morning and that pesky scale is saying that i've gained 3LBS!! :rollpin: I can't believe it :yikes: its not like i've been really bad eating chocolate and drinking beer..if i had i would fess up but i have'nt  up until wednesday i had been eating 1000-1300cals per day and burning off 250-400cals in exercise and i'm really P.O.'ed that 2 days off plan can set me back so much..i'm a devil for weighing in every morning and i was thinking to myself the other day that the weight is'nt coming off like it should be and now i'm thinking that maybe i've not been eating enough and thats why this has happened :?: Anyway, i think i'll try W.W. again starting from Monday..it worked for me once before so i think i'll try it again.

Hi Ladies

mmm, got all my "superbowl food" today, nice healthy snacks and some not so healthy, but they are for my hubby..
Yes, I have 2 kids already.....Cameron is almost 3, Ryan is now just 6 months and Baby X will come when Cam is 3.5 and Ryan is 14 months old.....My husband and I have to move, but luckily for us, the army has a lot of 4 bedroom houses, which is a dream for me to get OUT of this row house we live in...
So, as you can see, I have a lot on my plate right now...BUT, what doesnt kill us makes us stronger right?? I know I am a strong person but I feel like I have NO patience, so this whole thing is a little hard to swallow right now, but time will make it all easier...
Hope everyone else comes to some epiphany today...(doesnt have to be earth shattering...*L*)

Cathy, my boy might be teething. Today was better again. So I dont' thing it's anything serious. If he's crabby all weekend then I'll take him in on Monday. sorry for your disappointment, but maybe it's water weight as you're sick and it's your kidneys. Maybe they're not working right. Do you have the WW materials? Christie and I are both doing it. I do well when I stay OP. Are you going to try it? Enjoy your bath. My DH and DS are in the tub right now, their evening ritual.

Yes Leanne, time will make it easier but you need some support along the way. How does you DH feel about Baby X :bb: I thought you jsut had the one little one, how does Cameron do with the baby in the house. Is he helpful or a handful? :D Do you have friends that are supportive and helpful on the base? Oh, I am still wondering what is a dragoon? What snacks did you get for the big day? I'm not really into NFL although I do enjoy football. I'm looking forward to survivor afterwards. That's when it's on right? I'll have to check out the time.

I did my usual biking this morning and then I remembered that I wanted to try the aerobic videos that I got in the mail yesterday. So I did one and it was 50min long, I got my share of exercise in today :tread: But not a whole lot else accomplished  There's always tomorrow. I ate good today as well. HI Ladies, Happy Saturday

Yes, DIana, I am THRILLED that survivor is on tomorrow....I am a HUGE fan! Plus, football, whether I like the teams or not always makes me happy!

My husband is THRILLED about the baby...he loves the idea of another one coming along...Cameron is a bit of a handful, but mostly because he is 2.5, he loves RYan and LOVES to help out doing things...he already knows about the baby and told me he is happy. He is the type of child who is happy with people around. I actually dont know too many people here yet. But, I really am trying to work on it.
To answer your question a DRAGOON, is an Army Regiment. He is one of the "royal Canadian dragoons.", In edmonton they are called "Lord Strathcona's Horse...........a.k.a strats"..
For SUperbowl, I am making Veggies and dip, oriental party pack from M&M's, fruit and dip, and pumpernickel bread and spinach dip...I will be making everything as low fat as I possibly can.
wow, I wrote quite a bit here......sorry!

Hi Ladies

What a day.. I wanted something easy for dinner tonight, so we picked up stuff to make "healthy" sandwiches,,,mmmmm....I was SO looking forward to them, my mistake was sending my DH out to the car with the baby AND the groceries. I took Cam to the pay- a-dollar-for-a-lousy-helicopter-ride-the-only-lasts-30-seconds while he went oustide...needless to say HE FORGOT to put the groceries IN THE CAR....thankfully, he DID remember the baby. ;)
Nonetheless, he had to go back to another store and re-buy some of the groceries...........thankfully, it was only $30 worth, but still what a pain eh??
ANywho, I got my food and all is well........just thought that was kinda funny!

Happy Monday to all!

Leanne ;)

Leanne..did he leave the groceries in the cart? :dizzy: how do you manage that? what did he do? leave them in the parking lot and you all drove away? you never know maybe some kind soul took them into the store for you ;) you might be able to get them back..the nearest i came to doing that was leaving a bag behind at walmart and it was there when i realised i had a couple of items missing and went back next day :D

Good evening everyone.
Leanne, I have left a case of soda underneath my cart and drove home before. Had to go back, and it was stll there in the cart coral. I think everyone does it at least once.
Cat, the p90 tapes are not 90 min. the first sculpt is 30, the first cardio is 28. the second sculpt is 38 min, and the second cardio is 45. They all include streaching, and the cardio also has yoga at the beginning. Christiea and Diane, I hope you both are doing well. have a great evening ladies.

Hi girls, sorry I've been MIA.
I was in town at my Mom's and decided to stay the night so I could spend today in town too.
Cathy, glad you're feeling better. It's a drag when you feel down, eh. How's the WW going? Keeping with your points? How many points are you eating daily? ARe you doing the Flexpoints? Just curious. I think flex points would make it easier. ;)

Leanne, that is hilarious (and would be frustrating) how did he manage that though? how funny. Are you in the 130's yet?

Ricci, how often do you work out? I do my biking everyday, but I've started to add aerobics (I finally got my videos ;) ) 3times a week. I like it so far.

I went bowling tonight. I am a spare for the league. It was hilarious, I suck at it though :dizzy: Okay guys, I have to confess, Iam eating really bad this week. :ink: I did great on Friday and then D wanted to eat junkfood all day on Saturday. Well, I didi okay today too. But the weekend was bad. I'm finding myself in your shoes Christie, and I don't really like it. I had better do good tomorrow or else I'll gain this week. :stress: Did the right team win the Superbowl? I watched it too, but was way more into the survivor that was on after :D

Hi lAdies

Diana- no not in the 130's yet, still at 140.2....Kind of sticking there right now...Hopefully by next week I will own the 130's.

Yes, the grocery store, is about 20 minutes away....so, I didnt go back to get the groceries- I know I should have, but I didnt.

So, I have a lot to do today, a big day...We are looking to move to a 4 bedroom house on the base, but it involves a LOT of paperwork...so we are starting that, PLUS, I have my regular grocery shopping to do today....SO I guess I should get off the comp and out the door.

Good Day to all,

Leanne

Ricci, either busy will help you stay away from food and feet in motion or it will make you too busy to eat healthy, I hope it's not the latter. :D Chat when you can.

Cathy, good idea with the weights, I add them to my vidoes too. 161.5, is that down? I don't remember where you were? I was up 2 this week, but I was on the scale this morning and it's on it's way down again. I'm trying to stick with my program and that is too
1. eat within my points (WW)
2. bike 30 min daily
3. aerobics at least 3 times per week
4. drink 6 cups of water daily
5. 100 crunches daily
6. take my happy pills
I want ot see how long I can do this without screwing up.

SO, I am across the street, the Army has a section of the school where they have a comp lab, library, toy library, employment services and such...all FREE...so I forgot all about it until today...and it is a 30 second walk from my house....BUT, I must admit I like it being so quiet and not having to start and stop a million times.
I have been feeling this morning sickness at any time OTHER THAN the morning, which is good and bad. But, I have been eating really, really well and find that i am craving apples, and veggies and stuff, which makes me very very happy....

I have been doing really well exercising and eating. I ordered the winsor pilates system, so I can trade that out with aerobics every other day. Leanne, congratulations on getting into the 130's. I have stalled out on my weight for so long. Hi to Cathy, Diana, and Christie. I will talk to you all later.

Cathy, you are going to have so much fun there. Your granddaughter, whatdo you mean your av? Sometimes I don't catch on to code :dizzy: That would be fun to go to the pubs. It alwasy looks intersting when I watch the good old CBC soaps, Coronation Street and Emmerdale. Do people in Engalnd actually watch these soaps? :?:

Ricci, it's nice to hear from you again! How have you been? You got your tax return already? I still don't even have half the papers I need yet. We'll be late filers this year. Hope you enjoy the tapes. I recently got some new ones and its' a nice change.

Diana, By my av i mean my avatar, (my little pic under my name) its a pic of my grand-daughter  when i get a new updated pic and i'll be taking lots next week i'll change it  you bet that people watch those soaps ;) Coronation St is #1 :cp: i love it..it makes me laugh  i think the episodes we are watching are about 6mths behind England and it always confuses the heck outta me because next week i'll be watching episodes that i won't see here until next August :dizzy: as for Emmerdale Farm that is way, way behind  a couple of years or more so i've no chance of keeping up with that.

I walked/jogged another 3.15mls yesterday but my left knee was bothering me afterwards so i'll have to buy some knee supports or go back to just walking.

I've heard a few people on other threads mention that they got their tax refunds already :yikes: don't think our accountant as done ours yet either but we WON'T be getting a refund so there is no rush

Cathy, careful with your knee, you need it. Running is rather high impact and can be harsh on knees. Try the knee supports, hopefully you can do it. When did you say you're going to England? That is odd about the soaps, I wonder why they are so behind, 2 years, that's long! I used to watch them but now spend my time on the computer instead. Well, I should go, I smell a diaper. :bb:

Hi Leanne, glad that you're not feeling too ill. The cramps are probably the ligaments in your side saying "watch me stretch" as they haven't had a super long time to heal. Usually happens with the more babies you have. Do you think it's a good idea to be dieting while you're pregnant? Maybe you should ask your Doc about it  I only lost half a pound this week, but it's better than nothing and certainly better than a gain :D Hopefully this week will be better.

HI all,

Well I cant exactly call my eating "dieting" but based on the diet I was on I just mean that instead of having a carb over load, I choose things that I could eat while on the diet instead...I am eating a lot of fruits and veggies, but again I am sticking with the ones that I KNOW are better for me than others....but, I do eat however much of them that I want...My hubby and I have been eating rice cakes a lot.......everthing on a rice cake, flavored rice cakes...mmmm, they are so good...I could totally get rid of bread and eat rice cakes forever.....
Well the in-laws are coming today so I better get finished my last minute tidying up....(needless to say if I dont write for the next 2 days it will be because I am hibernating..... )
Have a GREAT weekend!

Leanne, have fun with the inlaws there. You get along? I'm that way too, I don't liek to have a messy house when people come over. So I have met another rice cake queen. ME TOO caramel rice cakes for dessert, plain with salsa, that's a favorite. On WW I can have 24-29 points per day and 2 plain rice cakes and salsa are only 1 point. So it's great! Even DH likes the caramel rice cakes, and of course we both like ALL the crispy minis, oh yum, speaking of which I've had a couple bags in the cupboard for 2 weeks, he must not know they are there  Well, I should go, have a great weekend. Oh, I tweaked my goals below a bit, I was getting stressed that I wasn't losing as fast as I wanted, so I changed it, besides my initial goal was 147, it was only after WW that I was aiming lower. I'll try to reach 147 and then decide if I need to lose more, :blah: sorry :o talk too much

My weight is fluctuating between 137.2 and 138.2...so I am QUITE HAPPY!!!! I cannot wait until spring is here, and I can go outside for walks with the kids...I feel like I have "cabin fever" right now from being indoors so much...

Sorry Leanne, I wasn't online for more than 2 minutes yesterday :sorry:
I hope your boys get well soon. Both sick at the same time, that's rough, but it's likely to happen as kids love to share germs. :dizzy: How did it go with your inlaws?
Cabin fever, tell me about it. In a week I'm moving 9 hours south of here, hopefully spring will get there sooner than here  Wishful thinking. Well, maybe it will be a bit sooner. I'm really looking forward to going for walks and jsut simply being outside. Although, spring means that I have to get back to work, :( I'm starting to really enjoy it here at home.
You're doing great with your weight :cb: :cb: You're at my goal weight. Yes, I'm jealous, but just a little, What is your goal weight? How tall are you again? I'm not sure if my goal is 147 or 137. Do you like being at the weight you're at? You should start to gain soon. Or how far along are you now? You don't want to starve the little baby. I'm a little paranoid that people will do that. I've known some people to do that jsut so they won't gain all the weight. and that is sad :(
Yes, our thread is dwindling, I don't know where everyone is staying? Hellooo...are you out there?
I hope you have a good day tomorrow Leanne!

Hey, we will keep the thread ALIVE!
Yes, I am quite happy at this weight right now...I am eating like crazy though, veggies and fruit and rice cakes, and my body seems to like it...I go for an ultrasound tomorrow to find out just how pregnant I am...
I am only 5'2, so my goal weight is 125-130 ( I am quite muscular so I dont want to get too low), but for now I like where I am...all my clothes fit and many are big so that makes me happy.
Yes, the boys are still sick, no fun and my dh and I are VERY tired, but we'll do whatever it takes to get them feeling better....darn cough sounds awful for both of them.
Wow, your moving? Hopefully you enjoy the new place and yes, I am all for spring...I forgot, does Alberta even get spring? I remember it being SO cold there...
Happy Thursday to All

Leanne, of course we get spring! :dizzy: It's 0 degrees here right now. That's nice enough for me for this time of year. I'm 5'2" as well, so I guess I'll probably not be happy at 147, so I'll aim for 137. I weighed this morning and I'm the same, so I'll make tomorrow my official day so it gives me one more day to lose at least .5 pound  HAve fun at the ultrasound tomorrow! Adn I hope the boys get well soon. My DS ahs an ear infection and it's been going on for 3+ weeks. I hope that'll go away soon!

Hi Leanne, missing you. Okay it's very late so I'll jsutsay a few words. I was reading up on our old posts. And I realized that you lost a ton of weight in a real hurry. Way to go :balloons: That is super. Was it all the diet you were on? You exercised a lot though too, right? ARe you worried that you'll gain it back because you lost it so fast? You're doing great so far we keeping it off, and you're pregnant too :cb: :cb: :cb: You are still my favorite wonderwoman and weightloss hero :D

Aw, Thank you Diana- you made me blush when I read your post....
Yes, I lost quite a bit but I worked my butt off for EVERY pound, and I was at the gym a lot, sometimes twice a day...I was 222 before I had my son, and 215 the day we came home from the hospital...(funny, he weighed 7 lbs at birth)...
Now, I am 136.2........ : :) :smug: :) I am thrilled! So, I am not about to go back to my old excuses and ways of eating that got me to 215...basically, it is just things like eating veggies instead of donuts....rice cakes instead of pasta...just smarter choices pretty much.
So I had my 1st ultrasound yesterday...wow, it is just SO amazing. I am about 10 weeks pregnant and will be due September 20th.

Well, no matter what I am in this battle for the long haul...I dont ever want to get "fat" again and I am doing my best to change my life. Like many people say diets are meant to fail, life changes are forever...
Okay, enough from me
Hope everyone is having a GREAT weekend!
Leanne

You can do it Leanne, you can keep it off. Okay right now you can't keep it all off, but you can keep from getting *fat*. You should try and gain the right amount, not too much and of course, not too little. During the first 3 months you're not expected to gain anything or not more than a few pounds, so you're on a great track. But when nad if you find that one month you gain more than you'd have liked to, don't get down, jsut try to gain a *correct* amount the next month. You are going to do so well, I jsut know it. Sounds like you are making good choices with food, good for you.
I hope you had a good weekend. I had a good one but have lost all self control when it comes to dieting. I don't know why :?: can you give me something to kick myself in the butt with? Maybe I should try your diet. I still havn't done it but it's still in my inbox in my email.

on your thread! I'm a new mom (not *so* new anymore: DS is 6 months) and I am really struggling to find a weight loss program that I can live with. Some of you have had great success and I wanna know how! I am thinking of just following a 1500 calorie/day plan and upping my exercise, but I would love some input. I have done ww in the past, but have never tried anything else. Any advice welcome. Thanks, mommies!

Diana- Here I am....yes, our thread is dwindling ever so slowly...where is Christie??
Welcome Daisynyc....Any plan that gets us feeling better and where we want to be, is a great one, but yes, I am definitely pro-exercise...it always helps, both physically and mentally! How much are you trying to lose??

Well, got a lot to do today, by hubby is FINALLY going back to work tomorrow, from his maternity leave...so, it will be really strange not to have him here ALL the time...so I have lots to do today! I better get to it!

Leanne

Leanne: Need to lose about 80 pounds: 20 from before pregnancy and 60 from the pregnancy (all that bed-rest!). I really am overwhelmed by all the "plans" out there. South Beach. Body for Life. WW. Everyone I know is doing something different. I guess I don't know where to begin. And of course time is limited with DS, work (part-time) etc. How have you managed to do so well? Your stats are great.

DewCan
03-02-2004, 01:47 PM
Welcome Daisync, congrats on the baby :bb: !!
How did you do on WW the first time you did it? That is what I'm doing now, well I should say I did for a while and then went off and as of today I'm back on it!! I have found some dedication again, must have hid it in my toes or something  And yes, Leanne's stats are great, she is the queen of weight loss.
Leanne, Christie's computer is having problems. She said she'd be posting form her Dad's house, but she must not be getting there to do so. How did your DH get such a leave? Is that normal for the military? Must be nice, but I can see how that will be a huge adjustment!!
Have a great day ladies,
Diana

Daisynyc

Diana: I made lifetime on WW in 1997! I lost about 30 pounds and kept it off until last year. It was a good program, and there is a good leader near me. I don't know why I am looking for something better, but I get sidetracked when I hear about the South Beach Diet or other diets. Maybe one of those would be healthier/better/more effective. If I go back to WW, I get 3 months free, which is a nice incentive. What have you been doing? How old is your baby/babies?

DewCan
03-02-2004, 06:42 PM
My baby is 9 months, very cute age, although I think all the stages are cute. Today I'm back on WW, I've had 12 points, and am not hungry right now, so I should do okay today. If you did so well on WW, I think it's an idea to try it again. I think it would be easier to maintain after WW than after those low carb diets. I jsut can't see how all that fat can be good for your arteries and the poor old ticker. How come did you gain after WW, pregnancy or other reasons? 3 free months sounds good, you could do that and then quit and follow it on your own. That's what I'm doing. I find that this site motivates me more than WW meetings did.
Diana

Daisynyc
03-02-2004, 08:23 PM
I will probably try WW. I gained the weight during pg when I went on bed rest. I also learned that I am insulin resistant, and the Dr. warned me off a sugar and white carbs. So I am thinking of trying the South Beach Diet - but I am not sure I could maintain that lifestyle. But WW is not really tailored to address pre-diabetes. So, you see my dilemma....

DewCan
03-03-2004, 01:21 AM
Daisy, could you talk ot your Dr. about it? Maybe he/she would be able to help oyu with that. I don't know anything about that. But WW encourages whole grains, and that is good for diabetes, as is portion sizing, eating friuts and veggies. Just a thought. Well, today was my first day back OP and I did it!! I'm rally happy, tomorrow I will do it again.

Wow Leanne..10 weeks gone already

Hi Daisy  Daisy just a little info in case you don't know already ;) i'm a granny but the girls here were good enough to let me join them anyway  so when you girls coo about your babies i'll be coo-ing about my Olivia  i'm so glad that the thread is still here because so many of them seem to "fade" away :(

Wow, I feel like I have missed so much!
My hubby is back to work...yes, the army gives 9 months off, but I could tell he "needed" to go back to work, and after 7 months home, I "needed" him to go back too....ALTHOUGH, check this out, he can go back for 6 months and then get leave for 9 months again, which will work out perfectly for when I have the baby...so, we are deciding if he will or not...I can see him taking a month or two, but THATS IT... :dizzy:
ANywho, Diana 9 months already...wow, time is flying....Ryan is already 7 months and my oldest son is ALMOST 3-plus, I am now 11 weeks.... wow, I cant believe it.
I think WW is a GREAT way to get the weight off after a baby...it is normal eating that you can do anywhere and fits a busy lifestyle...
Anwho, Glad to hear everyone is doing well!

Leanne, that sounds really good what the army gives him. Too bad other jobs don't. Wow leanne, Ryan is growing up too! And how are you feeling now that you're further along in the pregnancy?

Morning Girls,

Diana, The trip was good :D had lots of fun with my little grand-daughter she has 10 teeth now and a little more hair  quite the character too we were on a bus and she stands up and starts whispering in the ear of the woman in front of us who thought it was very amusing  Coronation St was good was'nt it..that Tracy is a bad girl

Leanne, Wow what a lot of leave your hubby gets  had to laugh about the part where he WON'T want to take all that time off with the newborn tho'

Daisy, I lost 30lbs+ on W.W. in '97 too..wish i'd stuck to it  the thing i like about it was that no food is a bad food and if i wanted a choc bar i could have it..it just meant there was less pts for anything else ;)

I've still got to unpack yet  but a gals got to get her priorities right after all i have'nt been online for 2 weeks ;)

LeanneM83
03-05-2004, 11:56 AM
So I am NOT the only Coronation street watcher?? ( I have to blame my mom for me watching it...) I love the story line...BUT, I went on their web site and I forgot that we are 6 months behind so I "accidentally" read what happens and of course 2 hours later I read all the episodes....
It is so weird with my hubby back to work....good though. He gets to come home for lunch so he is never gone too long, BUT he already found out that he has to go away for a few days and in April go away for a few weeks...I am trying not to get anxiety over it...but, it makes me somewhat nervous, but I keep reminding myself...woman do it ALL THE TIME...take care of 2 or more kids...so if they can do it, so can I- its just a matter of me getting used to it,right??
Okay, time for me to go get my son from school.....ugh, it is SNOWING here today.........yuck!

Managed to get quite a lot of cleaning done yesterday :cp: still got the top floor to do and of course lots of laundry, even though its clean i feel like i have to wash everything again before it can go back into my closet  i make work

Currently drinking my first pint of water :p added some fresh squeezed lime juice so not so bad ;) not as good as the pints of lager that i've got used to though

That's funny htat we all watch Coronation St  betya that not all threads are so lucky!! Okay, I missed it or something, did Tracy and what's his name do anything that night? She's a little witch! I hadn't watched for a while but now I'm back into it.
Leanne, you will survive those few weeks! But it will be qutie an adjustment. My DH left me for 2 months but came home every weekend, not the same I know, but it was something to get used to as well, and then you have to get used to them being back. Weird.
Cathy, you're doing good with your water :cb: and the cleaning too. I did lots yesterday as well as I can't stand to come home to a dirty house. Seeing as we'll be gone 2 months, I'm sure there will be lots of dust, but at least I won't have left a mess.
well ladies, I'm down 1 pound this week. I've been the same for 3 weeks or so and now I'm finally down. That makes me happy, oh I can't forget to change my signature.
Well, I have more surfing to do and some last minute packing.

Hi Ladies

I feel like I have had No time for myself the past few months, I can BARELY fit in time to workout, but that is okay seeing as I am busy busy busy all day long...I take the boys out for walks whenever I can BUT, I cant always find time to even get a shower...hmmm...I guess this is still pretty new to me, since my dh went back to work ( 2 days ago) I havent really developed my own routine yet, so I bet that will take another week or two to get in the swing of things...it is just kind of frustrating...
my baby has been waking in the night, crying so hard...and he never cries nor wakes up, I hope THAT changes QUICK...as you can see I am feeling somewhat stressed today.....it is SO cold out, I think I will go to the gym (if I can) and get rid of some anxiety...(it is SO COLD HERE..)
Okay, a small vent...sorry, but thanks!

Leanne, i know what you mean, sometimes it feels like a pg is going fsat and lat the same time slow, weird how that happens. You have a great target for your weight gain. Really healthy, for baby to grow and for you, also easier to get back to prepregnancy weight. I gained 22 pounds when I was pregnant, but was very overweight to begin with. Next time I'm pregnant I want to start at my goal weight nad then gain 25 pounds, like you said. Well, we'll see when I get there. You're doing so great so far, just keep it up ;)
Cathy, sorry to hear your foot is still unhappy :( Maybe see your Dr? You could try going to the gym and using the rowing machine, it keeps your feet in one spot while exercising your thighs and arms, although I have never tried it. Something to try if you get stuck.
Well, I lost 2.75 pounds this week, :cb: I'm so happy with that. don't know what I did, actually I thought I would have gained as I had a not so good eating week. But I still always exercise. I have now lost 20 pounds altogether :spin: I've been waiting to get to this point for so long. It gives me some more motivation.
Well, should go,
Where is Christie, I hope she hasn't fallen off the bandwagon

Good Morning ladies, I'm having my morning coffee and enjoying it. :coffee:
CAthy thanks for the bravo ;) It just makes it a bit harder to be active when your foot isn't working the way it should. So don't get down on yourself for not choosing ot be active, it is harder now. But now that you realize that, get up and moving :coach:  I've been exercising lots the last 2 days and will again today. I'll do my regular biking plus go for a walk as it is so nice here now. Baby really enjoys the walks too. And with his crabby teething, I need anything that makes him happy.
I'm stressing, I have now lost 20 pounds and remeasured. Compared to what I was 20 pounds ago, my numbers have barely budged. What is up with that? Maybe that is why I can't see my weight loss and don't feel any different. This is very discouraging!!!!! I have only lost 1.8" in my waist and less than that in my hips. No wonder I think I still look 6 months pregnant. The biggest number difference was my thigh, 2.4" loss and my rib cage (gotta measure that back fat somehow  ) 2.4" loss. I think it's all sliding down into my waist  I guess I was expecting to lose more in the waist and hips. :(
I stayed in my WW points yesterday, :cb: I will do it again today. It has been a real struggle for me to keep journalling. Well should go... Have a wonderful day all,
Diana

Wow congrats on the losses...sorry about the loss in your boobs, Diana....*L* or maybe not...
I now weigh 141..which is fine, I havent gained that much and I am about 14.5 weeks...so I think that is okay....
Now that the nicer weather is here, I have gotten my double stroller out and I am attempting to take the boys out for a vigorous walk each day....I know with my last 2 pregnancies, I kept saying if I had only worked out...so I am going to live up to it...
My parents are coming for a few days this weekend, the the in-laws are coming next weekend and then my mom is coming up again Easter weekend, which Good Friday is my sons 3rd Birthday....WOW, time seems to fly, which is great I hope April goes by pretty quickly because I should be able to get my ultrasound to find out the sex of the baby in a few weeks...yay, last night for the first time ever I dreamt the baby was a girl...-how weird?
Anywho,

Cathy, thank goodness there are always new days and some without pizza  Yesterday I shared my piece of pizza with my DS, so I had much less. But I did have Doritos  that is not good. Thank goodness that the flavour I like is gone now. Well, today is weigh in. I'll probably be up as it is that TOM, I hope it doesn't get me down in spirits. I'll exercise like crazy today to try and make up for my snack yesterday :tread:

Well, I lost 1.5 this week. Did 3 hours of exercise yesterday. Was super worried that I might gain so I had to work it off. It's so nice out again today so I'll be going for a walk. You're doing so great with your walking :tread:

Hi Diana, it was cod and i just baked it in some aluminum foil with a measly 100g portion of crinkle cut chips (i could'nt be bothered to peel spuds) and some peas and it was delicious :T there is a piece left in the fridge so i think i'll have that today, did'nt give it to hubby because i did'nt think he'd like it without batter or breadcrumbs.
I walk on my treadmill while watching "the view" or something, makes the time go by faster.

 Hello, everyone. I just found this board a couple of days ago. I love it. So many people are fighting the fight and a lot of you are winning! Its' encouraging. I am 30(almost 31  )and I have 2 boys; 10yrs and 2yrs. I have been married for 13 yrs and I am a stay at home mom. Oh and my name is Mary.
I am 157lbs right now. I got up to 200lbs with my last child. :moo: I am 5 ft so I think between 110-120 is a reasonable goal.
I have dieted and i have done cardio at the gym and it has worked; I just couldn't stick with it. Till I started weight training. Its addicting! :strong: And I don't like to cheat cause I know that muscle will never show if I don't get rid of the fat. I feel like I finally have a goal that I can get excited about. I am doing the Eating for Life plan right now, but WW sounds interesting. Is there any way to find out how to do it without joining?
Anyway, just wanted to see if i could join your little group? :^: Ya'll sound like you keep each other going.

DewCan
04-01-2004, 11:13 AM
Mary, Welcome here. We would love to have you join our group. And you're right, it's little. There used tobe more action, but as with a lot of threads it's dwindling but some of us are refusing ot give it up ;) I don't know anything about the Eating for Life plan, what's it about? You can definitely find WW stuff for free on the web. Let me tell you a bit about it, you are given a points target for a day and you have to eat them, then you also have 35 flexpoints that you can use throughout hte week, or in one sitting or not at all. Therea re people who find they lose better if they use the flexpoints. There are also activity points and you get extra points for working out. Right now your daily points range would be 22, but once you're under 150, you'll be at 20 per day. The one thing I have noticed with any plan is that you need the daily support. With going ot WW meetings I didn't get enough support, but with this site I get so much support it's great. Well, I actually ahve to run, so I'll tell you more tomorrow morning.

Hi Diana and Welcome Mary

Mary, if you are considering doing WW you will find lots of recipes right here with the pts given per serving ;) you can also find all the pts values you need at dottisweightloss zone just go to www.dwlz.com she is great i used to go there a lot when i was on WW but i'm counting cals now so i don't visit as much. I would love to get into weightlifting but i just can't seem to take to it :dunno: i have a weight bench and lots of free weights but i rarely use them its my treadmill that i love.

I had another great day yesterday :cb: that make 3 in a row and i'm sure that Gorgeous George (my scale) will be good to me in the morning :crossed: off for my 3ml walk now

Have a good one, Diana

Thanks, Cathy for the website. It was useful. But I couldn't find anything about how to figure how many points you get. Did I miss it or what? If its not too complicated how do you figure them? I know you said I get 22 points and once I get under 150 I would get 20 points. But whats the theory behind that?

Leanne, belated congrats on you baby. :goodvibes I think u r doing great. With my last one I had gained 10lbs by now.

I'm slowly getting to know some more of u. I've been reading the past posts.

My 2 yr old has been sick the past week. Between that and the high cost of gas these days(most of ya'll are in Canada, right?)I have been staying at home. Except for at night when my dh gets home I go to the gym for 45 min. But I have no energy at night so I feel like I'm not putting much into it. I usually go in the morning but I can't take him to the gym daycare sick. On top of that my 10yr old is now home sick and when they get together its like a cat and a dog. :stress: I've been staying under my allotted calories, mostly fruits and cereals. I can be a carb addict and when I get depressed, well ya know...... But at least its healthy carbs.

I refuse to let it get me down. This too shall pass.
Gotta get up and do something productive. Ugh! :yikes:

Hi Girls

Diana, a 2.5hr walk :yikes: you are a glutton for punishment girl

Mary, the theory behind the pts is that when you are heavier you eat more cals so you reduce the cals and start losing weight, as you lose the weight you have to consume even less calories otherwise you'll stop losing and may even gain :( for example if you can currently eat 1900cals a day to maintain your weight and you reduce that amount to 1400cals then you're not taking in 500cals that you could do, after 7 days this amounts to 3500cals which (in theory) should result in a 1lb loss :) don't know if you know this already or if it makes sense to you :dizzy: Anyway, 1pt equals 50 - 70cals? approx (not sure how they work it out really) so 22pts t X 50 = 1100 cals or 22pts X 70 = 1540 cals. These are approximate ranges. I'm sure there is a way to figure out the math somewhere but i don't have it  I'm not sure if the ranges are at dotti's or not i have'nt been there for months but i'll take a look and if i find them i'll let you know ;) i got mine from the booklet that you are given at meetings. Hope this helps and does'nt drive you

I walked/jogged another 3mls this morning :cb: and i'm down 2.5lbs

169/165/166.5 :( /164 :D

Cathy, thats all right. Thats too much trouble. Thanks, though. For now I'm just gonna keep counting my calories. If you think about it, I can pretty much eat anything I want now as long as it stays under my calories and fat limit. I am kinda confused, but who knows I may join the online WW.

Congrats on the weight loss!

cat90
04-03-2004, 02:24 PM
Mary, its the same with WW you can eat anything you want as long as you stay within your pts :) and pts are just a fancy way of counting calories anyway

I've got a whole bedroom suite to do yet  its a dark walnut colour and i'm either going to do it Mahogany or Pecan, i like the Pecan thats a nice colour :D the Mahogany is too but it shows every speck of dust with being so dark, the 2 chairs and coffee table i've just done are a honey pine colour they look nice.

Hi there - I've been enjoying reading your thread. I don't know if I am a new mom anymore with a 7 month old, but I still have my "baby fat," so does that count?

I have been bouncing around for days trying to find a diet plan that i can stick with to lose this weight. I have done WW in the past, but I would be interested to know what the rest of you are doing to lose weight? I was thinking of calorie counting or the South Beach Diet, but just don't know where to begin.

What has worked for all of you, if I may ask? Can anyone suggest a plan?

Thanks - and congratulations on all the success.

Hi ladies
Welcome Daisy, my :bb: is 10 months. I've gotten rid of my baby fat, but have all my prebaby fat to lose :) I'm just trying to cut back on my food and I exericse daily. I'm not good with counting cals or WW points. I would do a lot better if I would do either of them. I think losing weight is a lifestyle change, so I would suggest doing something that you can do for the rest of your life. Which is why I think any specific "diet" is too hard to follow.

Cathy, that all sounds fun. DH and I are planning on renovating our kitchen this coming fall. Summer is time to build a deck.

I'm way too scared WI today after Easter and all, so I don't know if I will. It might take the wind out of my sails and I don't want that.

I am now 17 weeks and I have gained about 5lbs..and I can really notice it now...how meat to only gain weight in my stomach....last 2 pregnancies I gained it everywhere BUT my stomach...
All my clothes still fit, but I am beginning to feel very self-conscious...but I am determined to do this pregnancy right...I have been eating well, (except the occasional treat) and I am as active as I can be, and what a difference...
On may 5th, I wil be finding out if this baby is a boy or a girl...*fingers crossed*...

Hi Everyone...
Wow, I feel like I have missed SO MUCH....I have been doing pretty well with my eating although this baby is making crave snacks like CRAZY, but I am walking a lot with the boys everyday and it seems to be working..
SO I am 22 weeks prego and I have gained about 15lbs...BUT, the best part is, that it is ALL in my belly...which is AWESOME, normally I carry in my bum, arms and EVERYWHERE else....
I also found out that this baby is a
GIRL :cb: :cb: :hat:  :dancer: :balloons:
as you can see I am THRILLED....
So, I am allowing myself to gain about another 10lbs, and then I know it will take me only 2 months to take it all off, so by November I am hoping to be somewhat normal again...*L* if that is possible...
Well, hope everyone is doing well...
what programs is everyone following now?? how are they working?
Happy Tuesday to you..

Hi All
Sorry I've been away for so long. We moved abck home May 1 and I've been busy and Off Program for a month now and gained 7 pounds. How sickening. I'm mad, I'll have to do something about this. I'm back at work now, part time, and I'm quite enjoying it. It makes me happier at home as well. I guess I do better with getting out more often and being able to think something other than baby baby baby. Speaking of whom, he's turning 1 tomorrow. It has gone by so fast. We'll have a party in the evening. During the day we have to help my brother move, AGAIN.

Cathy, happy belated birthday! Hope it was great! You're doing jsut great, keep it up, nad there'll be nothing left of you in no time. Oh no, please do stop before that  Maybe I'll have to do calorie counting as well, I jsut find it hard when I eat combo foods such as a casserole, homemade bread etc.

Leanne, congrats on the girl :spin: I've been saving cute baby clothes for the day I am blessed enough to have a girl. You've done wonderful for weight loss. I know what you mean with not getting the tummy with the other babies. I got a tummy but I guess with a big everything else, quite a few people were surprised that I had a baby. Oh well, it will be different next time.

Christie, nice to see you're back, it's been so long. Hope SB is treating you well. I don't know much about it.

I hope to be back more regularly now. Have a great long weekend.

Hi Diana, i'm supposed to work 3 days but i've been cut back to 1 until the girl i'm replacing leaves :dunno: thats OK cos it gives me more time to learn from her what i'm supposed to do :D i'm working in a pharmacy and taking care of stock and invoices etc, i love it but there is'nt enough time to get everything done

Its a scorcher here today and i don't know whether to go to the local Rodeo watch the cowboys and drink a few beers  or sit on the deck and tan  i could do yardwork as well but that does'nt sound as appealing as the other two

DewCan

It's 20C here today so I'll go and do some yard work. Planting and other fun stuff. Leave pruning for later when DH is home. ;)

I've been doing quite well over the last few days and i've walked 15.5mls in 4 days :tread: :cb: also down another 2lbs for a total of 8.5lbs since May 3rd ;)

WOW :cb: :cb:
you're doing fantastic Cathy!! Just picture a baby that size coming right off those hips, and in 3 weeks!!! How are you doing with eating? I know you're the walking queen, is the walking alone doing it, or also a diet?
I'm down 1.5 pounds. I'm happy with that. Of course 50 would be better
My son is crawling around and licking the rug, crazy kid!! :dizzy:
I fixed the mower (it was the throttle) and finished the lawn.
Have a great weekend!! and keep up the walking

Well Done Diana :cp: on the weightloss and fixing the mower  wish it was just the walking alone  but afraid not :nono: i'm counting the calories as well  only a momma on a mission would equate my weightloss with having a baby  that is funny  i would'nt have thought of it like that..ever  Hope you had a great weekend too

hmmm....fries that sounds good
a girl at work had poutine today. I've never had it but it sure looked good. I'm probably better off never trying that
Congrats on the pound!! you've ran so much that you might add up to running to running to your neighboring town. I don't know how you do it.
Well, i'm back at mowing. We've had so much rain that things are actually growing after these years of not having ot mow the lawn for a couple weeks at a time. But we really need the rain. We've been super dry for several years now.
I'm staying the same at hte weight I'm at. I wish it would move down, but maybe I should try harder :o
Have a good night

Cathy,
my apologies for being away so long :sorry: My computer was virus bitten and I was getting it fixed. It wiped out a lot of stuff on my computer. I just got it back, and am back at it, the computer that is.
I've been completely off track with the weight loss. But the fact that I came here makes me think that I haven't quite given up yet. How od you find motivation and self control? Those are things I don't own and can't seem to find it anywhere.
So how are things with you? Whenever I see Coronation Street I think of you ;)
Leanne, how's the pregnancy going?
I'm not sure if either of you ever stop by here but I thought I'd say hi

Welcome Back Diana ;) sorry about your computer :( i'm so wary of those viruses now since I got that worm bagle virus on mine but I was lucky enough to detect it and remove it without "opening" it  I won't even open email now unless its from someone I know  as for motivation :dunno: I find that I start off all gung-ho for a few weeks and then I start to wain and lose interest :( i'm in a bit of a slump at the moment too  I was treadmilling every day and i've even lost interest in that and have'nt done it for a couple of weeks  I found my job interfered with that a bit tho' cuz I have to get up at 4am and when I get home i'm not in the mood to jump on a treadmill :lol3: but i'm on my feet at work and constantly walking around so I guess I am getting some exercise in a way :dunno: I can't say that i've been dieting either :dunno: in fact i've just had 2 english muffins for breakfast with BUTTER on them :lol3:

No news from Leanne :( I just looked back and she was 22 weeks in May so she must be around 30 now :yikes: gosh, she'll be due before we know it  and back here showing us all how to lose weight

Sorry to hear that you're on such a slump. I need to get out of my eating rut. Seems that's all I do. I quit my biking and walking. Sort of sucks. I'm going on our family campout and I had big goals for this weekend and I'm so not there. I'm busy getting ready for htat and baby's been sick , oh great speaking of him, he jsut woke up crying, gotta run

HELLO LADIES

I just read a few posts, sounds like everyone is doing pretty well....Keep it up...I will be back as SOON as I have the baby and I will kick your butts in gear...*L* ;)
SO far I am up 30-35lbs, BUT it is all in my belly...but oddly enough, I have felt hungrier than I ever felt possible...I just cannot stop eating....plus I havent been able to run for some months now, but once this baby is OUT back to the grind I go...
Everyone keep up the good work and keep this thread alive...
Take Care of yourselves...
