This is a picture taken of me in November of last year. I was so used to wearing huge clothes to hide my body that I didn't think to take a "before" picture w/tighter clothes. This 2nd picture to the right was taken of me today. I'm not comfortable w/the shirt being tight like it is--but maybe when I'm a smaller size I'll like it. lol

Thanks all---I'm not at the size I want to be but just having the 17 pounds off so far has done TREMENDOUS works to my self esteem. I'm no longer so depressed about it. Now if the rest of the weight I need to lose would drop off that'd be great too!!! One week at a time is how I'm taking it--and as long as the scale doesn't go UP and slowly goes down I'll be happy :)

This first pic was taken in December before I started Atkins, weighing in at 233 pounds. I was thinking that I looked good that day & was shocked when I saw the picture. This is my high school friend that I had not seen in years, and we were meeting up at McDonalds that day. I caanot believe how big I allowed myself to become. I was wearing a 22 pair of jeans that day.

The second pic is me tonight weighing in at 202.5 pounds, weighing in at 202.5 pounds :D I am wearing a size 18 here in this pic! Please ignore the stain on my jeans & the wrinkly shirt, I had no idea until I saw the pics :lol:

OK I am going to ATTEMPT to post some pics of me :( The first picture is me on 2/5/04 at 200.5 pounds. Second picture is me April or May of '03 riding a friends horse...I was so disgusted when I got this picture---really did not realize how big I'd gotten and just how bad I looked :cry: I have no clue what I weighed there...August '03 started Atkins at 246 pounds :cry: ..anyhow, we're almost halfway to where I want to be...
edited as my pictures had loaded reverse of how I had intended them, lol.
BTW---the "current" pic I am wearing those old HIGH SCHOOL jeans that I had squirreled away for all these 18 or 20 years lol! Also, you can see from my avatar pic (which was 1/01 how much weight I had gained from then to '03, which was at least 15 to 20 pounds)...

Hi everyone!

I am new to posting but I thought I would add my pretty little pictures to the bunch! The 'before' shot was me at my highest, right before college graduation last year. The 'after' was in August, after I had been on atkins for about 6 weeks. I took a very long non-Atkins break from the holidays until this week but I am only about 5 pounds heavier today than I was in August!

Frodo, Hi, I've been on Atkins for coming up 4 years this June! I'm not perfect with it and feel very accepted by this group. I'm here with you too! It's a life time thing and we're all in on it! I'm 45 and it's the best "diet" I've been on as far as a lifetime commitment. Hang in there with us! Love ya!

I haven't taken my measurements lately. Not since my carb slipups. After my BD I'll start doing that again. THOSE haven't gone down (same as the scale) either. They started out doing really great then stopped. But lately it's my fault so no biggy. I'll work at it again later :)

Jane, I'm not sure. When I gained all that weight I only bought 2 pairs of elastic top pants. I'm thinking up to a size 24. Because the 22's that I orginially had were tight. (oh no!!) So I'd say I started at a size 24, and I'm down to 16's on my pants, but 12/14 on my tops. So, so far I've dropped 4 sizes on my bottoms, and 4 sizes up top. I may have dropped more, but I haven't bought newer clothes. hehe. I'm not doing that for another 20-40 lbs. I don't care how big my clothes get. Too expensive! lol

Thank you everyone! I will be getting my camera back from my sister on the 10th and I'll take new pictures then. Hopefully I'll be at the 70lb mark (8 more lbs in almost 2 weeks...I can do that...) and then hopefully a total of 80 by Christmas if things keep going the way they have for the past 3.5 months. I was on the Atkins diet before I moved from TX to Md now i gain all my weight back,hehe but I went on the Weight Watchers diet and I lost 20lbs but ive been stuck at the same weight for like 3 months,Im thinking about doin a low carb diet,You look GREAT!

Well, I got my camera back early and I borrowed the cable from work so here's the updated pics. The pants I'm wearing are a size smaller than the ones in the first pics and I actually had to dry them to SHRINK them! Obviously, it's the same shirt as in the first pic, but I shrunk that too, it was my favorite shirt and I won't be able to shrink it too many more times I will post pics again when I hit 80 lbs lost.

hi everyone. my name is tracy. i will be starting the grapefruit juice diet tomorrow. it is very close to atkins but with the grapefruit juice. i am over 200 and that is all i am going to say. i tried the cabbage soup diet a few months back and lost about 8 lbs but then it came right back with friends. i am hoping to finally put an end to my weight problem. i was always relatively thin about 135 and after having children i went up to 269. that was 4 yrs ago when i had my last child. i am in a size 18 and want to be back down to a normal size. i cry everyday. pray everyday and just eat more and more everyday. i am so tired of hearing "but you have such a pretty face" i could vomit! my body will never be the same after having children and gaining all of that weight i have come to terms with that. but that is no reason to hold myself back from being the best i can be with or without all the fat. to be honest i am scared. very scared. food is my comfort my best friend and i am already in mourning over having to give up the food i love. i am ready and willing to do what it takes to get this weight off. i am so glad i will have all this support from people who are there or who have been there. i do not think i could even attempt without ya'll. Thanks! They were $18 at Shopko. It's sort of frustrating because I know when I started Atkins, I was wearing clothes that were too small and that isn't what I'm judging my success on, but there are people that have lost this much weight that have dropped a few sizes at least. I suppose, if I think about it logically...I probably should have been wearing a 30/32 or larger at 356 and now I'm wearing 22/24 top and 24 jeans. I didn't try on the 22 jeans, but in hindsight I wish I had because who knows...maybe I'm overestimating the size I should be wearing (plus there were plenty of 22's in the clearance rack!). I actually know my measurements now but I have no idea what size I'm "supposed" to be in. Why can't they list the measurements on the tag? :)

I started on August 15th, 2005. I have been doing Atkins the whole time except for Christmas, Christmas eve, New Year's and New Year's eve. Both of those weekends I gained 7 lbs and lost it in 4-5 days. I have lost 9" off my bra band, 11" off my waist, and 10" off my hips so far. I wish I would've measured more than those three in the beginning, but oh well. At least I have pictures from the start because if I didn't, I don't know if I'd notice much of a change because mentally I always thought I looked smaller than I actually was (I know that now after seeing the starting pics).

These are some very bad pic's of me at 147 lbs. just days before I hit my goal. My DD begged me not to post them. I had my head tilted too far back like I was trying to cover up a double chin that I no longer have. Old habit. By the way, DD thinks I look "mentally challenged". LOL
