Hey-Hope everyone is doing okay. For me, I've just been busy adapting back to the heavy load of work at school! Nothing really new to report at home.

I hope everyone is able to post on the weekend!

This will be short and sweet, because you never know if this post will be around or not the next time I visit!!! Look's like they are going to close down the forum later today for more work.... I LOVE this site and I hope it's up and running like usual again soon!!!!!

Shelley, you did an AWESOME job Sunday!!!! Are you feeling better? From the pic, you are just the right size, I think some of the weight gain your showing must be muscle.

Dee, the redecorating job sounds like hard work, but I bet you will love it when your finished. Hmmm...jungle theme....do you have ropes to swing off of???? :D

Speaking of swingers...where's Sherry & Debbi???? ;)

Mary, I apologize for all of the mess with the site lately. I have been here since 1999 and nothing like this has ever happened before. Please be patient and put up with it. Once it's up and running correctly again, you will love it! When is your weigh-in day?

Well, off today to get some cleaning done, then some Hospice care, then hopefully I can fit in an hour or so of painting. Although...I really need to go buy groceries, do laundry, clean a closet, blaa, blaa, blaaaa!!! I am also staying OP!!! YIPPEEE!!! I lost 4 pounds last week!!! Mostly water weight, but I'll take it!

Gayle great loss. It encourages you on....you can do it. We will do this together. I need to get back down too.
Well I don't have ropes to hang off of but I do have a golden tan sheer netting over my bed. Makes me feel like a Princess of the Jungle with my leopard print feather duvet.

Shelley glad that there is no news to report, it means that there isn't any bad news.

Ramona how do you like an empty house? Have you heard from the boys? Must seem strange not to have the business any more.

I sure do miss you gals. Not much posting going on. I guess we never know if it will disappear.

I hope that you all get a chance to post and let us know how you are doing.

Gayle-Great job on the weight loss! I am down, too. It might go up when I start back with my regular appetite, though. I have been feeling okay, but not a big appetite. I haven't been journaling yet either.

Dee-It figures that you have netting over your bed! I bet you have mirrors too!

Maybe more posting will go on over the weekend. I've been spending time at a the www.coolrunning.com board, too. I have joined a virtual Appalachan Trail run that lasts from 1/1-12/31/04. Everyone over where I post are baby boomers, so they are at least over 40---some older than me even!

I'll talk to everyone later!

I'm here. Just not much to post about. Been busy working, cleaning, etc.

I did very good staying OP UNTIL Thursday. It's been downhill since then. :( Oh well, Monday's a new day...Going to try again.

The site will go back down tonight at 8:00. Suzanne is putting us back on the new site we had last week. Keep your fingers crossed :crossed: that all goes well.

Drew will be 16 on Jan.13th. He got his report card Friday and his grades are still bad. We told him that he couldn't get his driver license which means he can't drive his car! We have a very mad & sad Son here at this house. He knew the rules when he got the car. It will continue to be parked in the basement until he decides to bring the grades up and quit socializing in School!

I'll post later....
Love & Hugs...

Sherry.....That is what we do with Cara so he can get glad that he has parents that care about him.

BRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR....it is way to cold out there...Going back to Florida if it don't start warming up.

Be back later

ShelleyM

Sherry-Patty is 14 on Jan 13th. What a coincidence! Anyway, you go girl!! I don't think I would have it in me to keep Becky from getting hers if her grades weren't good. Fortunatly, I don't have that problem. Did Drew take driver's ed and get a waiver to not have to take his test? Is all Becky has to do in April is go down and take the vision test, since she took driver's ed.

Vicki-It's cold here now! I ran in 41 degree temp. Much too cold for Fl.!

01-11-2004, 02:46 PM
Sherry, we expected the same of elizabeth. We told her it is a privilage to drive and she also needs to prove she's responsible. One of the ways of earning the privilage, is to keep her grades up. BTW: my insurance offers a good student discount, you might check into that... insurance for boys is so much higher then teenage girls...BE PREPARED! OUCH!!! We've kept Liz on our family package, she pays me, then Ipay the insurance for her pickup. It's so much more reasonable then if they are trying to get insurance on their own.

Shelley, I feel for you...two teenage daughters at once!!!! It's bad enough that we have one now and then in 8 years allison will be one! YIKES!

Vickster, how was Florida???

Dee, did you leave us yet or are you swing'n around on those vines?

We have a birthday coming up here in a few days...GUESS WHO???? :D

Sherry
01-11-2004, 03:15 PM
Yeah Gayle, I know.We went through the same thing with insurance with Chris 5 years ago. Too expensive!

Shelley,
Drew didn't take drivers ed. What is so hard with telling him "No license, No driving" until his grades come up is because he's such a good kid. Never causes us problems and all around great kid. He's just so different from Chris when it comes to School. Chris always liked it and did very well (a great kid also). I know you aren't suppose to compare kids but I can't understand why Drew hates it so much! He could care less but with this punishment maybe he'll TRY HARD TO LIKE IT!

Trying so hard today to stay OP!! So far...so good! ;)

BTW: Did anyone notice my "Welcome" sign for this thread? No one said anything so I figured that you didn't like it as well as I did!

I noticed it Sherry. It made me laugh out loud!!

Sorry I've been so scarce. I spend 8 hours a day now typing reports on the computer and when I get home, I don't even want to look at the darn thing! I know it will get better, they are just so behind and I'm trying to get them caught up. I love the job, but one thing I don't like. I am amazed at how many people spend their time running in and out of offices and visiting around the copy room. They stand in my doorway and visit and laugh and it is soooo distracting. Sometimes I just want to stop and ask if anyone besides me showed up to actually work! Oh, well, having been out of this kind of work environment for so long, I'm sure I'll see lot's of things that rub me wrong.
I've been working on a missing persons case for the last three days. I was almost finished when it took a sudden turn. It seems all the people who had been interviewed had conspired to tell the same story and now they are in BIG trouble. It turns out to be a drug deal gone bad and we still don't know where the missing man is.

OK, I promise I'll post to everyone individually soon. I'm going to take a short nap now and then get busy on this house!

Later all......

Sherry I came down off my vine to tell you I didn't notice your welcome sign. I went back to have a look. You have so much talent, girl. It is marvelous. I think that you are doing the right thing with Drew. Dez could have gone for hers but she isn't intrested. She took drivers ed though.

Ramona glad that you are enjoying your job.

Gayle didn't think that I would come down from those branches did you.

On friday we are leaving for Puerta Vallarta for 23 days. We will be back febuary 8th. I will be checking in on the internet cafe occassionally so I can keep an eye on you girls. Someone has to keep you in order.

I noticed Sher....if your talking about the one with the spotlight and are names. In fact, I had planned to mention to you about just keeping that one all of the time. I'm sorry for forgetting, with this site screwed up over the past week, I was just happy to be able to come here! We appreciate all of your hard work keeping this group going.
Liz never cared for school either. Not a bad kid, always out of trouble and thinking ahead...just no desire in school. Drew will do just fine, maybe if you go ahead and let him drive, with a deadline to bring up grades....then, if he does'nt make an effort...take away the driving privilage?

Sherry-I just went back to see the welcome!! That is awesome! It's my favorite so far!

Ramona-Your job sounds so interesting! BTW, welcome to the real work world. Seems everyone just gets by while those of us hold down the jobs and take up the slack!! Since you have been a business owner as I have, we are used to doing everything that the employees didn't do and more, so now that we have entered the working world, we can see what most of the working force of the world do!

Dee-Have a good trip! We'll miss you!

Sorry I haven't posted much lately. I'm having a really hard time getting back 100% OP. Fighting depression too!!! I do pretty good until around 4.00 everyday. Afternoons are the worse!!! I won't give up though!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend. Not much exciting happening here.

Welcome Tina!!!!!! I see your from the Nashville area too. I'm out here in Kansas. Thank you for deciding to join our small group, I take it as a complement. We are usually chatting all through the day and night, but with all of the site problems, we've been slow.

Deb, YOU CAN DO IT!!!!!! Are you trying to low carb? I am, and things are going really well. If you want a neat site with low carb information, just shout. I hope your feeling better and remember we love you!!! {{{HUGS}}}

Good Morning everyone! Hope everyones day is starting out well. I am low carbing too. Getting back in gear from a holiday where Santa brought me lots and lots of FOOD. Of course I had to eat it all. In other words I did not have very much will power over the holidays but I am beginning my second week low carbing again and I am enjoying it so far. Did well my first week. Lost the 3 pounds I gained over the holidays so now I am back on track. Today me and my 1 and 3 yr old boys are off to the store. Hope everyone has a great day. I will check back in later. Tina

Hey there, Tina! Welcome to our little corner of the forum. Good to have ya!

Hello to all my other Floozies, too!! Hope you all are doing well in your respective areas of the world. Hope everyone is keeping warm--I saw where even Florida was having below normal temps. the other day. Actually sounded like good running temps for Shelley, though!

Sherry--I liked the spotlight.

Shelley--I'll pm you my e-mail addy.

Gayle--Hope you're doing well. You sound like you are! I've been low-carbing since November 12th or so. I've only lost 8 pounds, though. I guess I've just been doing it half-way. I'd like that web-site you were telling Debbie about, please.

Everyone else, take care. I'm thinking of y'all!

Cheryl!!!!! Nice to see you posting!!!! Check you PM here in a little bit for the address.

Tina, how much do you plan to lose? Which low carb plan are you following?

Dee, have you heard of a product called Final Coat??? It is a sealer but water based. I heard it is manufacturered in Winnapeg.

I hope everyone is doing well and we can eventually start posting here more. It seem's like between the holidays and the site problems, I'm missing my favorite buddies!!!

Staying OP ~~~~ I even have Steve on the low carb wagon!

Gayle is top coat for finishing floors and stuff or for artist painting? If it is for floors and stuff I have heard of it. It isn't as durable as the oil base one but good for allergies, which I have.

GTG Larry is home for lunch.

Welcome Tina!! Glad to have you join our very mannerly group!

Cheryl-I didn't get your PM. Please send to me again!

Debbie-Please don't be depressed! You know yourself it is better to post when you are down so that we can help bring you up!! You have done great and you know you can do it!

Gayle, Tina, Cheryl and everyone else doing lowcarbing-it's amazing how much low carb stuff is in the grocery stores now. Makes me wish I were doing it, but I know that I can't do without my carbs and sugar! :s:

One of our teacher's aides at school's sister was murdered yesterday by her ex-husband. How awful is that? It was in the paper this morning, and I didn't even know who it was until I got to school.

Hope the board stays up so we can start posting again!

First of all, WELCOME TINA!!!!! Like I told you in the PM, you'll love it here! These gals are wonderful!!! :D We are all on different plans but we have built a strong and loving friendship along the way. I'm glad you posted!!!!
Looking forward to getting to know you better. And remember...You're not that far from me!! :)

Everyone:
I weighed this morning and was so disappointed :( I was OP everyday last week until Friday...then I blew it! When I weighed this morning I had gained A POUND! The scales showed me at 166! So today is a new day, a new week. I know I can do this!!!!! I guess I need a good butt kickin'!

I was going to post to everyone but I'm so tired and need to clean the kitchen.

Love & Hugs........

Sherry, it's just your body trying to adjust. You will do super!

Dee, the decorative artist' use it to seal some of their work. First coat is dabbed on, the next coats are brushed on. It can be used on most any surface, glass, wood, leather... do you know if this comes in ounce sizes or gallon sizes??

gdeann
01-13-2004, 10:02 AM
Shelley, you mentioned the low carb treats at the store. Have you priced them??!! A tiny box of candy with maybe only 10 candies in it was $5.00. We are staying away from most of the "man made" stuff and going "el natural" choosing different cuts of meat and lots of veggies.

This is gonna be a quick one. I have to clean up all the dust that we created with our reno.

Welcome aboard Tina. Before long you will feel like you know us. Keep posting so that we will get to know you. I am going to read your bio after I post this.

Gayle I haven't heard of the Top Coat but that doesn't mean it isn't here. If I get a chance before I leave I will check it out. It will probably be a small bottle as most of the stuff like that is. Won't be ounces or gallons though....lol remember we are metric. If I don't get a chance before we leave remind me when I get back.

Shelley I am sorry to hear that something so tragic happenned to someone's sister you work with. That is a hard one to deal with. Does she have kids? Larry's Aunt was murdered by her husband and had a 5 week old and a four year old. Larry's mom and dad adopted the kids. The older one had witnessed the brutal murder and was never the same. They took care of him for a few years but they just couldn't manage him. He grew up in behavioral homes. Really sad.

Well I need to get stuff done before we leave....it is gonna be busy til we get to Mexico.
Today at tea time they are having a birthday party for me. Aren't they sweet?

Hi eveyone, Hope everyone is having a great day. I am doing so good at staying OP. I hope I am not disappointed at weigh in. I bought some jeans at Target yesterday and I was down a size! YIPEE!!! Still not the size I would like to be at but hey it is a start. Sam's was giving out samples of this drink called Slim-Lite. It has no calories, no carbs, no juice NOTHING! I don't know how but it is soo good. It comes in 12 pack bottles with different flavors. Has anyone else tried them?

Thank you all for welcoming me! I love this place already.

Tina, the drink sounds good! Was it sweetened with Splenda? I'll need to check it out. Congratulations on the weight loss!!! Now remember, if if the scale isn't budging, you must be losing inches to go down a size in jeans. I noticed your bio, do you buy or sell on ebay?

Well, I'm staying OP too!!!!!! I weigh in Thursday which will make 2 full weeks for me other then one indiscretion of a high carb dinner when we went out with friends.

Hi, I checked the package on the Slim-Lite. It says no carbs, no aspartame (I checked no splenda either), zero calories, no caffeine. Contains citrimax and chromate . Says it is a natural appetite suppressant. Not sure about that but it serves as a good substitue for water sometimes.

I have going to Curves for about 4 months. I havent had my 4 month weigh in yet but in 3 months I lost 19 1/2 inches and 8 pounds.

Oh yes I do sell some on Ebay and buy. No big time seller just things around the house. But I would like to sell more but not sure where to buy wholesale. Tina
