Post your before, during, and after pictures here (even if you're not where you want to be yet :) ).

My pictures are in the LWL photo album. Don't miss the picture of Mel and me on page 2 :D !

My "now" (last night :D ) photo. I will never have slender legs, but am working on getting rid of the fat so they will at least be muscular, not chunky :D

I'm now at (I think) 145 1/2 lbs, am trying to again reach my low of 142; and then see what's possible. But realize that size is what matters, not weight.

Well, it's not letting me show this pic, as I already have it at another thread. If you want to see it, it's at the "doin' it the old fashioned way" thread, under General Diet Plans.

Noodles: you're just RADIANT! Your joy is shining out in those last two pictures. :)

Hey gang, this is fun :D ... how about some more photos? You can add them here or in the new Maintainers photo album at

03-26-2004, 09:39 PM
Noodles !! Love your pics and not boring at all! You have come a very long long way!

And Holly!! You look good too! You little  you!! I read that post! Do you work in a gym?

03-27-2004, 02:12 AM
Awww...:thanks: everyone!! :D

SITC: I looked all over for those shoes. Finally got them at JC Penneys. Those shoes were the only ones that would fit my fat feet for the 2001 Christmas Party. They fit alot better now... I think my feet lost weight too. :smug:

Meg: Your pictures are an inspiration to me. I look at those and go SEE..SHE did it!! You can Too! See how happy she is there!! Plus I want to take a pic like you a big ol' shirt to really see the difference. Do you want me to move mine to the gallery?? Not exactly sure how too but I can. Just LMK if ya want.

Yeah Holly you look DAMN Good!!! Keep up the good work!! :bravo:

03-27-2004, 06:36 PM
...And Holly!!... Do you work in a gym?

Hello Lanaii! I do videotapes at home...I love the variety that one can get using tapes. And that I can do it on my schedule. Plus I'm too cheap to spring for a gym membership

I also walk a bit outside when it's nicer, but 95% is exercise tapes. And counting calories.

03-27-2004, 08:56 PM
Those shoes were the only ones that would fit my fat feet for the 2001 Christmas Party. They fit alot better now... I think my feet lost weight too...

Definitely. It stands to reason you lose weight all over. I went from an E width to a tight C so far. No more Softwalks! Yes! <arm pump smilie?>

BTW, you and I should trade bodyparts. You've got a nice rack and you're slim below-- I'm deflated on top with a big booty. Between the two of us we could become one really skinny person and one J-Lo Special. :dizzy:

03-28-2004, 04:23 PM

You can have em'!! :p I am hoping the rack shrinks when I start my gym stuff. I am tired of lugging these things around. I use to whine about being a C. Now I'd loveeeeeeeee to be a "C". I could go shopping at Vic. Secrets again!! :D

03-28-2004, 06:16 PM
Hey, it could be worse. Mine look like a couple of tennis balls in a pair of long sweat socks. And the more weight I lose, the more they fall. Right now I have to watch it when I put a belt on, otherwise I'd strap them to my belly button. I'll be able to play soccer with them soon.

03-28-2004, 08:20 PM
 @ Seek

03-29-2004, 05:44 AM
SITC!!!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!!!!!! :lol3: You crack me up girl!!!

Just a quick thank you to everyone for the nice compliments about my beautiful wife (Noodles). I tell her she is looking wonderful and how pretty she is and she says, "Yeah, but you are married to me." The truth is, I REALLY MEAN IT!

I love her very much and what she has done for herself. Now she's helping me work on my spare tire! ;)

Oh, Julie!!! Wow!!!

What a beautiful family -- and what a beautiful YOU! :) I truly would not have recognized you in your "befores" -- you look like two different people. Congratulations! You've made amazing changes in your life and I'd love to hear your story about how you did it and what you think maintenance will be like for you, if you'd like to share on the Introductions thread.

Thanks for sharing! You just made my day. :D

Boys??? :?:

04-13-2004, 07:22 AM
WOW! Whay a great way to start the day! :coffee:

I am so glad that I've finally taken the time to look through all the new pics. Everyone has done such a marvelous job!

I would like to see the photo albums in a very prominent place here at 3fC so people who come wandering in could see for themselves it can be done. I know it was the photo albums of 2 very special ladies that blew my socks off last June when I found 3FC. And from then on, I was committed and determined that 'if they could do it, so can I!'

I love looking at photos, so keep 'em coming! CONGRATULATIONS to ALL! :bravo:

04-13-2004, 07:53 AM

I know what you mean, it's hard to "retire" those old images, but all we see is the slim, terrific, new you! :mag:

04-13-2004, 05:59 PM
:o Thanks Ladies! Somedays I still see the 340 lb woman in the mirror but when I look at the before and after pics I can see the difference!

I know the feeling, Julie. I still see the "fat girl" in the mirror too, even though the pics say a different thing. Wonder why that is?? :?: Ahh well...I'll just make my mirror one big pic instead. hahahaha

05-05-2004, 09:38 AM
Ellis, Noodles, Jack -- I split the thread. Here's the rest of the posts:

05-27-2004, 06:55 PM
I post my progress pics over on the Atkins forum, but here's the latest:

It was taken this last weekend while I was out shooting (just soda cans). My coat is huge, but I can sure see the difference in my legs!

05-27-2004, 07:02 PM
Wow, you look like you stepped off the set of a glamorous cop show: "But officer, it's a low-carb Krispy Kreme!!!"

Oh boy! A picture thread. And here I am one of those crazy weight loss gals who carries her before and after in her wallet and likes to whip them out everytime the subject comes up...or doesn't come up. Heck, I just like whipping them out. LOL!

I didn't really keep up with my progress, but here's the before, somewhere at or over 240 lbs, a picture from earlier this year at 170 lbs, and one from about a month ago at 151 lbs.

Now here's to just hoping I did the attachments right.

08-21-2004, 02:54 PM
Heaven!! WOW!! That first pic could pass for your mother!!!!! You look lovely  and much much younger!!

08-22-2004, 09:45 AM
Thanks Lanaii. That's an added benefit of losing the weight, I dropped years along with it. I certainly feel younger. I was in my 20's in that first picture and I was always so tired after just getting in from work. Now I go to night classes twice a week and I'm always on the go when I get home from work, between exercise and a newfound joy of shopping. I used to absolutely hate shopping. LOL And I started going to a tanning bed for the first time in my life. I could never tan before and never saw the need of putting that large body into one of those little pancake machines.

08-23-2004, 07:52 AM
Almostheaven, let me just say ROWR! and Wowsa!

08-23-2004, 10:55 AM
You really do look great!! Isn't it fun to go shopping for clothes now that you have lost all that weight? Although I have lost close to 30 pounds nowand am at goal weight, I just LOVE to shop now for all the stylish clothes. Having gone from a size 12 to either an 8 or 6 depending on the outfit itself, I enjoy the "new me" sooo much more! The old confidence level sure goes up when the weight comes off, doesn't it?
Congrats again on all the weight loss, Heaven.
Have a great day-

08-24-2004, 01:18 AM
Definately! I have more confidence and am more outgoing than I've ever been. People have commented on the change. And I certainly have a lot more energy. Just had a 19 yo intern at the office asking me how old my daughter was. When I told her 19, she said "No way! That's my age! You can't have a daughter that old." All I could say was "Bless you". LOL!

BTW, here's yesterday. I modeled my latest new outfit for hubby to take a pic. :D

08-24-2004, 09:40 AM
Heaven!! WOW!! That first pic could pass for your mother!!!!! You look lovely  and much much younger!!

My thoughts exactly, you look much younger! You are very inspiring to someone who wants to qualify for this maintainers forum like me! :)

09-01-2004, 04:41 PM
Let's see if I can make this work!

After (last year, need to lose 10 lbs to get back here)...

09-03-2004, 08:49 AM
Wow Lydia, awesome transformation!!!!!! You look so happy in your after shot!

Sweater Girl
09-03-2004, 09:37 AM
Lydia: Stunning!

09-03-2004, 09:38 PM
Lydia, WOW!!!! Absolutely fantastic, congratulations!

10-02-2004, 09:19 AM
Wow, all these amazing pictures have really inspired me SO much. Everyone looks so amazing, and really happy in their after pics!

I've been in a bit of a funk lately, my loss suddenly switched from 2/3/4 pounds a week to just one, which I know is ok, but it has been getting me down.

But your photos have shown that it can be done!! I hope you don't mind me sharing my pics, even though I'm not a maintainer yet!!

The first two are me on holiday in Greece last October, and I put on about 15 pounds after that trip, and the second two were me about two months ago - I've lost 12 pounds since they were taken.

10-02-2004, 10:22 AM
All of you look TERRIFIC! Congratulations on all of ya'lls weightloss.

10-02-2004, 02:34 PM
Katey what a cutey you are!!! Keep up the great work and post here anytime...

10-03-2004, 09:45 AM
Wow! I havenít checked here in a while (Iím really sorry :o ) and you all look MAH-VEL-OUS! I just love all the before and after pictures ó keep Ďem coming, people, even if youíre not at goal yet. Show us how far youíve come ó strut your stuff; youíve earned it! :D

Heaven ó I agree with Ilene ó you look like your own daughter now. I know what you mean about the energy now. I used to think it was all about how I look ó now I know itís all about how good I feel! And Lydia, thatís such a great picture of you and DH ó you smile alike, you know? Katey, my dear, you are ALWAYS welcome to post here! You are just the cutest little thing. :) Yeah, the weight loss does slow down, sometimes WAY down. Donít let it bother you ó youíll get to goal, donít worry!

You all have just made my day with these great pictures! Any more out there?

10-03-2004, 10:54 AM
Heaven ó I agree with Ilene ó you look like your own daughter now.

::sigh:: I actually wish that were so Meg. My daughter will be 20 in 2 days and was weighing over 260. :( When I went for a visit the first of September, I got her motivated and bought her a set of the Walk Away the Pounds videos. I'm hoping she sticks with it. She's lost 7 pounds so far.

I was raised in a family that believe in eating out as much as possible and she was then raised the same. I've moved away from family and away from that lifestyle. She's still near family, and I know how much our family can hold a person back. So it's going to be doubly hard for her.

10-03-2004, 12:50 PM
Heaven -- my DDs only a little older than yours (22). She always was a chubby kid and put on a fair amount of weight in college (drinking and dining hall food?) but was shocked speechless when she came home after graduation and was 200 pounds. She went right from college into grad school and into her own apartment and immediately took charge of her weight. She's completely changed her life -- now she goes to the gym, cooks healthy, and logs all her food in Fitday. And she's down 35 pounds since June and just bought the first pair of size 10 jeans she's ever owned. I couldn't be more proud of her!

The point of this is that I'm probably a big part of the reason she ended up fat -- I tried my best but wasn't a very good role model and of course, we always had tons of crap in the house since I was eating it too. BUT ... she saw me lose the weight and saw just exactly what that took. She saw me go to the gym every day and stick to the diet through all the family holidays and celebrations. I never once lectured her about her weight or nagged or anything (and I'm sure you don't either :) ). But even though I never said a word, DD watched me and learned and put all the lessons to use when it was time.

I think about all that you can do right now is to be a silent and loving example of yes, it can be done and here's how to do it. We all know very well that no one can force anyone else to lose weight -- God knows it didn't happen for any of us until WE were ready. Even though you two may be physically far apart (DD and I are across the country), you'll always be there to support her when she's ready. And that's the best gift that you can give her. :)

10-03-2004, 01:50 PM
Thanks Meg! Though I was only there a week, we will be moving much closer next month. We'll just live 8 hours away, so I'll get to see her more often. And I think it's seeing me that motivated her this time. I'm just worried that the family will unmotivate her. So by being closer, getting to see each other more often, maybe it will keep her motivated.

She's so self-conscious now about her weight that although she really wanted a set of those videos (I'd taken one with me to work out to daily while I was down there), she won't do it in front of anyone. So she tries to get up before anyone else does and do it. She also has a lot of health problems which keeps her down. The biggest problem is that she's had surgery on her knee a couple years ago. Now she has cysts forming on her knees. And some of the medications they've had her on for various medical problems also added to her weight problem.

I know if my mom does her like she did me, she's going to have a time of it. I had open heart surgery as a child and mom wouldn't let me do anything. If my face got a little red (since I was white as a sheet anyway) from activity, she'd make me sit down. And she's the great guilt tripper if you try to do anything she sees as self-serving. Taking time for yourself to exercise is a no no. Not wanting to go out to eat with the family means something's obviously wrong with you. She'll say one time won't hurt, but her one times turn into 5 days a week time. :(

10-12-2004, 05:23 PM
I love all the pics here. Everyone looks so much younger and happier in their afters!

Hope this's a link to my before and afters:

10-12-2004, 06:31 PM
Karyn, that is awesome. I was thinking just yesterday "I wonder what I'll look like when I lose weight" since I've always been overweight, I don't know. I've noticed though that I think I'm starting to look like my cousins and my mom's youngest sister.

10-12-2004, 06:41 PM
Karyn -- those are AWESOME! Thank you for posting them! You also look so much younger and happier! :D Make sure to take lots of photos in Hawaii in those cute little outfits to share with us.

Nelie -- I didn't have any idea what/who I'd look like when I got to my goal weight and lots of people, including my own father, didn't recognize me for a long time. It's really weird when you walk up to someone you've known for twenty years and they act like you're a stranger. Heck, I didn't even recognize myself when I looked in the mirror. But now when I look back at pictures of myself, it's like I'm looking at a stranger -- a sad and obese stranger -- and I feel so sorry for her, but now I have a hard time remembering looking like that. It's all very strange ... :dizzy:

10-12-2004, 08:10 PM
Karyn -- Those are awesome!! Congrats! It's so nice to put a face to the picture...

DH and I went for a walk on a trail this past Friday and we brought our new digital, so he took a pic of us... When he downloaded it I was shocked at my face compared to last year's pic in August!

I'll try to attach it here goes...

It didn't work very well the pics were all blurry! But I'll try again later...

10-13-2004, 05:54 AM
Ohhh, Ilene, I saw them when you first put them up and even though they're both tiny, I really could see a difference in your face and especially your neck (which a lot of time is what makes us look OLD)! Maybe you could post them in the LWL album and we could see them better?

For any of you Maintainers who doesn't know, the LWL forum (right above this one) has a photo album here: and you can see all of Ilene's cute pictures there. :D

10-13-2004, 07:40 AM
Boy you're quick Meg!! That's exactly what I was thinking of doing, ahhh, great minds think alike!

10-13-2004, 07:55 AM
Done Deal! :D

10-13-2004, 08:33 AM
Ahh, MUCH better!

And you're right - there's a big difference in your face! (and it's such a cute picture of you and DH :) )

04-21-2005, 06:42 PM
Sandy those are great pics!! You look so much younger now!! I can't get over how when people lose weight they look 10 times younger...

05-16-2005, 05:43 PM
My name is Amie. I post on another forum but was looking through your photos. I just love looking at the before and afters....Just unbelievable! I wanted to share mine too.
I am 32, married with one 4 year old DD. I have been loosing and living a new life style for 2 years now. Just eating 6 small meals a day and working out 4-5 days a week. I have 23 lbs to go!

I am 5' 3"

CW 148 May 2005 After picture was taken Friday May 13th 2005
My Goal is 125

05-16-2005, 07:30 PM
Amie -- What a beautiful transformation!! You and I are the same height and weight  Not the same age though I'm way older 48 :( ... You are much more endowed in the chest area though ;) , I am almost flat :?:.... Anyways, I digress, YOU look awesome :high: ....

05-17-2005, 10:20 AM
Thank you Ilene, we are all shaped different and have to work with what God gave us. Just think....I have lost like 10-12 inches up there and am now a DD! The down side is shoulder pain (not as much now) and I can not run..........

05-17-2005, 10:41 AM
Aime, I am so glad that you shared your pictures. I am 5'2" and within 10 pounds of your current weight. I'm still a DD too - which is a pretty big haul for such a short frame. I've lost inches in my bust but haven't even put a dent in my cup size. Anyway, it is always nice to see progress pictures of someone with a similar build because it helps me keep a more objective body image for myself. And it is nice to have an idea of the difference 10 pounds will make too!

Congratualtions on your weight loss. You look absolutely fabulous!

05-17-2005, 12:02 PM
Amie, you look gorgeous - congratulations!!! :cp:

05-19-2005, 05:02 AM
Amie! Wonderful photos! Congratulations and thanks for sharing. :)

I just love your signature line: Begin each day as a new start and never give up the fight to be fit. Amen, sister! :D

06-01-2005, 05:33 PM
Howdy folks,

Since I'm new here I figured I'd start by posting some pictures. I've managed to drop around 240 pounds, you can see some of my progress at (no pictures of me at my heaviest):

06-01-2005, 11:35 PM
Wow spud! Congrats on the weight loss! You look greeeeeeeeeeat! :)

06-02-2005, 12:02 AM
SPUD !! Wow, great accomplishment !! How long did it take you to lose all that weight??

06-02-2005, 12:42 PM
Wow, Spud, you look fantastic! What an amazing transformation! :cp:

06-03-2005, 07:47 PM
Thanks for all the encouragement folks. To answer Ilene's question, I started at 02/12/02 at a weight of 457.5 pounds. by 08/29/03 I weighed in at 181.5 pounds, "normal" by BMI standards, but considered gaunt, skinny and unhealthy looking by pretty much everyone around me. So the bulk of my weight was lost pretty quickly -- about a year and a half.

06-04-2005, 09:13 AM
That truly is amazing - you look awesome - congratulations!! :)

01-20-2006, 07:57 AM
Oh! I realised that I do actually have some pictures to post now! Or rather, I'd like to post a link to them on my own site, if that's allowed.

The Before-picture is from late 2002 and I weighed 97 kilos/213 lbs and the After-picture is from December 9th 2005 and I weighed 70 kilos/154 lbs. I'm quite pleased with the transformation! ;)

I was obviously miserable in the first picture (and I feel kind of sad when I look at it, because I remember how much I was hurting) but I wanted some tangible evidence to serve as a Before-picture because I was hellbent on reaching my goal. Well, after a million attempts, BED and whathaveyou I've finally succeeded. Now I'll work on maintaining, and defining my body a bit. :)

Hugs from Ann-Charlotte

01-22-2006, 12:20 AM
Anne-Charlotte, you look ravishing!! Bravo!!

02-02-2006, 01:15 PM
I finally have some good "after" pics, so here you go!

The first pic is me in June 2004 on a big trip around Asia (this particular picture was in Singapore, not that it really matters). The second is me in August 2004 right before I started getting healthy. I weighed around 185 at the time (I'm 5'4") but I don't know for sure because I didn't have a scale for a couple months. All my "before" pics are sitting down, because I was always exhausted!

The third is me in November 05 when I was only a couple pounds away from my goal weight. The last two are from a couple weeks ago, getting ready to go out to dinner. In the last one I weigh about 128, though you can see my arms could still use some toning!

02-02-2006, 01:53 PM
My gosh you're so young! You look very good indeed :bravo: ... I hope you had a nice evening out ...

02-02-2006, 01:54 PM
OMG! You look like an entirely different person! :faint:

You're gorgeous  -- thanks for sharing!

02-02-2006, 05:35 PM
You look fabulous!

02-07-2006, 02:09 PM
Thanks! LOL Ilene, I guess I am young compared to a lot of people on here (I'm 23).

02-08-2006, 07:46 AM
Awwwwww I can't see the pics! :tantrum: Is it the server?

02-09-2006, 08:25 AM
Frus - apparently any photos over two years old didn't make it in the server move. We'd love it if people repost their pictures! :)

02-09-2006, 09:47 AM
 I can't seem to upload jpegs at the moment either :spin:

02-17-2006, 07:04 AM
YAY! I can see the pictures!

:bravo: Paperclippy!!

03-11-2009, 11:57 PM
Not sure if I'm doing this right but will have a go.

03-12-2009, 09:53 AM
WOWser  ... You did both perfectly, losing weight and posting those very impressive pics :bravo:

Very pretty pictures!! You look great!!

04-09-2009, 09:19 AM
You look amazing. And I can't get over just how much younger you look with the weight off. It's really, really drastic.

Your girls are precious and so are those outfits. They must have loved getting them.

04-09-2009, 04:20 PM
Congrats! Your girls are lovely! Well done!

04-09-2009, 04:59 PM
wow, thank you for all the kind words! :o :)

Robin, honestly I never thought about looking younger, but looking at the pics, I guess you are right. That feels nice! Yes, the girls love the outfits!

thank you again everyone - hardly anyone has seen those pics, esp the one from Oct 2004 at 178 - ugh! I hate that pic, but it's a great reminder that I don't ever EVER want to go there again!

Fantastic! You look just wonderful! Congratulations on all your hard work!

I have to admit that nearly all my old pictures are boxed up in California. I only have these from my high school graduation, when I was 17 years old. I think I actually gained weight over the next 5 years before I started losing weight. We didn't own scales so...I think I weighed about 250 lbs because a few years later I moved in with a roommate who had a scale, and that's what I weighed. Then I went on a grilled chicken and oatmeal diet, and lost 20 lbs. I think. Because a few months after I started using the scale I realized it was broken (as in, zero wasn't zero anymore. I think I broke it. 250 was the limit.) By the time I started at Curves I weighed in at 231 lbs, 41% body fat.

I am told I still had this same baby face--people often asked me when I was going to graduate high school when I was 21. I look older now.

Sorry the pics are grainy. I scoured my computer drives and boxes--no fat pics. I guess I was on a mission to leave my past behind me. ( (

and this is a more recent picture:
