I thought I was going to have alot of reading to catch up- Pray everyone had a great Christmas and a good start to wonderful New Year. I found ya Sunny. I have been busy working overtime to pay for Alaska trip, and have had staff out on comp. so been really really busy, but wanted to pop in to catch up, and guess I'll have to wait for that. My pastor got his results back again from pet scan, on Monday and praise the Lord no sign of melanoma, They stopped all treatment now, and will re-scan in 3 months to see if it starts again, the Lord is good. Will check in and see if anyone else has located us, tom. but in the meantime, Happy New Year! Luv yahs! Sue
Good Afternoon SUE,
What a mess, huh... I am trying to get us back "on track" Sure do hope I haven't made things worse :o and confused people even more...
:cp: So glad to hear that your pastor got such GREAT News for the New Year! He will be in my prayers for continued health! And that you had such a good Christmas and New Year so far... me too! Joe has just gone back to work after a long vacation time off and now I will be able to post on a regular basis again. The :ink: "thread-hog" is back!
:^: Now where's GARY, CHARLOTTE, MICHELE, SAMI, WILMA, MARILYN, JUDY, AMANDA, SHERRY, & our new friends LANEE & MICHELLE (seekhimfirst) :?: Sure do hope you all find your way!

How terrible that this site had to have such a major crash - am glad I was still able to locate it.
Anyway am here and doing well as can be expected.
Am on day 7 of my food plan that goes till Jan 14 - it consists of no bread or potatoes.
Must say I really thought I would be having major withdrawals because of not potatoes especially when the rest of the family are eating them -- but I'm not. So hopefully I am over the hump of that problem. Still feel like I could do with some bread, but the craving it not at all like it was before.
My total miles walked todate is 692. It is too cold at present even to walk at our rec plex as it is minus 34 the last few days and even inside at the rink it is to cold when it gets that low. So have to wait a few more days before I can continue walking there.
But am getting the treadmill going and am planning on getting 5 to 10 miles on it within the next 7 days.
Have lost 2 pounds since January 1 so am on the right track - finally. Am looking forward to seeing what the results will show after 14 days of making these changes. If nothing else I am feeling better.

And I must say... you are doing A WONDERFUL JOB on your program!!!! :bravo: Ya Hoo!!! Down 2 lbs already!!!! I just couldn't be happier then if it were me (I only wish ;) ) I am trying to get back on track too and hope to get to 'Curves' this afternoon, but we are having winter advisories here - have over 12 inches of snow just since yesterday & it's still snowing - and the jeep is loaded with snow... a workout all by itself  But they open up again at 3:00 this afternoon & I am going to give it a go then. Again... I am so proud of you and happy for you!
"Keep up the great work!"

HI GALS-
Gotta be quick again--THANK-YOU for all the birthday and anniversary wishes. Angie and I were going to do to dinner tonight on a gift certificate from the kids but I had to come home from work early-- seem to have a touch of a stomach virus-- been sitting down all day if you know what I mean;) Anyway I am feeling better but she thought since she was tired at "her new age" another day would be better. She still got up and was exercising at 5am.
I am sorry to hear SAMI isn't feeling well. HI Angel and SunnyD- glad to have you both back and prettying up the site. SUE- what good news on your pastor-- keep up the x-tra work for that trip-- remember I AM COMING TOO:lol: SPROUT- great job on the walking-- treadmill the best you can when the weather isn't pretty. JUDY, MICHELE,WILMA and the new gals-- hope to hear from you all soon.
Prayers-- off to my throne:lol:

Hello a much better day today! One of the bad things with with illness is I am always so tired and when things flare up I can't sleep even with sleeping pills. So I got a good 7 hrs last night and I feel great. Then hardest part is that my job is demanding and I am counted on for a lot Yesterday I found a mistake that could have really hurt another team members befits If I didn't catch it. Thank God I did because it is hard to fix when gone on too long. (It was someone above me fault but I feel I should have followed up on them and I let it slip my mind) I really love my job and I take a lot of pride in my work. And I want this year to be better I want to over come this illness I am making an app. with my speicalist and putting my foot down HELP me or send me somewhere to be helped! Sorry to vent but with going on a month now on heavy meds it zaps me.
Well I got to go EZ I hope you are feeling better I know it is no fun to spend time sitting around (LOL) I need to get some of Angies engery.
Sprout I am so glad things are going well for you.
Sue so glad your pastor is doing well. We will keep him in prayer that it doesn't come back while he is off treatment.
Angellover-I know this weather is tough. I am praying that you get through this winter with little pain.
SunnyD-You are doing great you are now my hero also!!!! I am so glad that curves is doing well for you.
Wilma-I hope your computer didn't get hit also. We are looking to buy another one and I called Dell I must have gotten the worse salesman or he didn't need my money! So we are going to gateway does anyone have any good advice?
Sami, I don't deserve your praise... I never went to 'Curves' yesterday as I said I would. I ended up spending the day right here at my computer in my jammies. Checking things out and upgrading my AntiVirus (not taking any chances!) and doing allot of reading.
I finally began the day right today and went to 'Curves' this morning... I never went yesterday :( and boy-o-boy did I feel it! I felt so blah all day. I bet it has been three 1/2 weeks since I last went. It was so nice to feel welcomed when I walked in this morning... so many welcomed me back. Now I feel good about getting out to do my workout and have the day to look forward to. My nephew is coming by at around 1:00 to pick up an old cp tower (he's building a computer for someone). And he's going to see what upgrades I should load onto my cp.
It is so good to see you all again! I missed you so much!!! I am with you Gary, I hope to see Michele, Judy, Wilma, Lanee & Michelle back soon! I did write to Michele and she is well and said she'll be back soon.
*******
SAMI, I am so glad to see you back and feeling better today... it is wonderful what a good night's sleep will do for a body, huh. I think it's great that you found that mistake! Just think of how much good you do and no one really see's but you have done something so good! God will Bless you for it! He always knows what you do behind closed doors. Keep up the great job! But always remember to take good care of yourself, so you are always able to give your best. I say that for me too ;) I tend to take better care of those around me then I do myself. Good for you!!!! Make that call to the specialist... keep us informed, okay. And if you didn't vent here --- where would you vent?!? ;) I am so glad to have a place like this & you all to vent to. Cuz I know you all will be truthful with me as well as encouraging and supportive.
Oh, as far as the cp shopping goes ~ I have HP and love it (got it at the Micro Ctr here), but my mother and brother both have Gateway and they too love the cp & company. My mother has had some problems, but they have been quick to repair or replace for them. They have had no complaints about the company and they are always so nice, my mom told me. Just to let you know... "Luck" with your shopping.
GARY, I sure do hope that you feel better real soon! :o You can always go out later to celebrate. Where were you both going for dinner (had you gone)?
Thanks for the welcome back... I really did miss posting & seeing your posts. Hope you come back more often then before the holidays... I missed you both! ANGIE, You are such a trooper! I admire your discipline in your workouts and hope to meet up to you one day.
Hi ANGEL, So good to see you again here. Thanks for replying to my PM so quickly... I really needed to chat with someone because I felt frazzled about the forum crash. I was so looking forward to coming back and then there wasn't anything to come back to :^: so it was nice to have you to chat with about it all. Thanks so much!

Well, I really must go get a bit to eat and get changed.
I will be checking back later.

Hello on the VERY COLD day! Hope all are doing well. Glad some have found their way home. Maybe the others will be here soon.
Sami...thanks. Yes, the weather bothers me a lot. I'll be glad when summer is here. I'll make it, though. When it's rough, I'll just cope the best I can.
I'm glad you're better today. I hope you do get to the point of your illness, soon. I know how frustrating it can be. I can handle things better, even if it's bad, if the drs can tell me exactly what's going on, & what to expect. Lots of luck. I'll be praying for you.
SunnyD...don't be so hard on yourself about Curves. It's hard to get into a routine, after slacking off for a little while. You'll be back to your routine & doing great. How's your eye? When are you suppose to find out something about it? I remember everything you said, except that part. I have been praying for you.
Gary...hope that stomach virus is better soon.
Everyone take care. We sure miss all those who haven't returned, yet. Still praying for 3ftcks! http://www.stopstart.fsnet.co.uk/mica/pc-crash.gif

Hi all!
I found you earlier and tried to post but my computer is on the fritz, it all of a sudden will shut off. Really irritating. I unplug it for awhile and plug it back in and it'll usually start. Someone told me there's a switch inside or something i may have to replace.
I hope everyone finds us again, thanks Sunny for trying to take care of all this.
Gary~Hope you had a wonderful Anniversary and that Angie enjoyed her birthday! Sorry you've been feeling icky. Hopefully you will be better soon. Chicken soup, it's a good remedy.
I am home today not feeling well. I woke up with a really bad headache and it hasn't gone away all day, but a little better now. I wanted to get some stuff done today around the house but afraid i haven't been too successful. Did get a few things done. Have to just keep on.
I've been doing really good on Atkins, but yesterday i was craving sweets or i wanted a pretzel at the mall. But i'm happy to say, i didn't succumb!! :cb: And this a.m. i weighed in and i've lost just over 10 lbs. since the 1st!! I think part of the headache may be PMS and not caffeine, i'm trying to wean off caffeine again although i do have some yet still. The headache is probably from no sugar, and with PMS, it's way worse. It'll be better.
Have to give a 2 minute talk at church on Sat. night and Sunday a.m. Very nervous, not my thing, but i'll do it. My shy guy will be there Sat. night. Not sure if that's good or bad.

Hello I hope everyone is doing well today. My DH has been PC shopping and came home with a wish list and let me tell you his wish list is $$$$$$$$$ I am sure going to make sure he doesn't get set free!!!! He did come back with a more reasonable list that he would be willing to SETTLE with. LOL I am feeling a little better today. and I have worked hard around the house. We have been having problems with our drains I thought I had to call a plummer to come out during the day (I have never had to call a plummer) so I called tonight to get them to come Friday and they came right out got the problem fixed now I have all the backed up laundry! I am going to take some to the laundry mat friday. So pray for my back.
Michele-My pc was acting like that at first you may be hit by a virus. Mine was blinking off then we got that to stop and now we have had to by pass our opening screen to stay online. I pray that it isn't a virus. And I hope you are feeling better Friday.
Sunny- Us girls here call them PJ days. We like it when we can stay in our PJ's all days.
Wilma-I hope you are out there and not feeling bad.
Ez-I hope you are doing well today.
Angel lover- How is your Job going? I am going to call Friday to make an app. I feeling like I might have a kidney infection so I have cut my Diet cokes down and do feel a little better. I hope your cold weather passes soon.
Well got to run! I hope to see you soon.

Just a quick note to let you know that I'm back. I had changed my password and lost the one I had before the crash so I had to request a new one. I'm on my way to drop DS off at his bus stop and then it's off to Curves.
Talk more later. Have a wonderful day!

Hi everybody.....glad most are back.
I almost lost my pc to the virus last night! I wouldn't turn mine off until I called MSN & told them what was going on. They helped me, so maybe I'm alright now. I hope so.
Hi Wilma...glad you were able to get back on. Hope to see another post soon.
Sami...it does sound like you have a kidney infection. Hope you're better soon. Good luck with buying your new pc!
The station is going well. We have extended "Tennessee Valley Now" from 30 minutes to 1 hr....& they want me on every day. So my days off (Tues & Thurs) I have to go in for that. I don't mind...only I like wearing my pj's around the house those days, & have to get dressed.
doitforme....so glad you have good health! Oh, some day heaven is going to show me how it feels!!:D Until then...I'm still blessed...hey, that's a song I do "Still Blessed"
Mitchypoo....sounds like a virus, alright. Be careful what you click. If not sure....don't. Just call your internet server...they'll help.
I think it's a good thing your shy guy will be there for your speech. Tell him ahead of time that you need him to be praying for you as you give it. It'll make him feel special, & let him know you have confidence in his prayers.;)
Keep praying for SIL......thinks he's coming home the middle of Feb.....that helicopter that crashed this week was part of his unit!

At work today and boy was I right, Aunt Flo came today (sorry Gary!) I woke up with the headache again but it's left me already! :cb:
Still doing good on Atkins, except giving up the caffeine, still struggling with that. But if that's the only problem, i'm doing great.
Wishing you all a blessed day!

Good Morning ANGEL, Thanks for making me feel better about not exercising... it did feel good getting back and I'll be back at 'Curves' again on Monday and will hopefully get in my 3x's and begin my routine again. It is so very COLD outside :o we are in the single digets! So I have to MAKE myself go!
WoW!!!! I am so happy to hear that your SIL may be coming home in February!!! Please keep us informed on if he does! I will continue my prayers! There is still so much loss going on over there!!! More died yesterday. Just Heartbreaking!
And my eye is fine (so far)... thanks so much for asking about it. I go for another exam on the 19th of January. The Dr. will have another look into the eye and see if that freckle has changed any (hope not!). If it has - it is a very bad sign. I was told that if it did turn into cancer I could lose the eye, but the cancer could not go any further (it stays only in the eye and does not spread). I will have my new glasses rechecked also. I think one eye is off - I go crosseyed everytime I try to read with them (Oh, why did I get bi's?!?).
Good Morning MICHELE :cp: :bravo: WoW -10 lbs!!!!!!! Congrats on your weight-loss with the ATKINS program, but that is why you are getting those headaches - withdrawal's. Your body is trying to get rid of the sugars and now the caffine. The withdrawal from the caffine is terrible! Me --- I love my cup of coffee in the morning. I only have one maybe two and Joe makes it half & half (half decaf & half caf) so I don't get it full strength and I don't drink anymore after morning. I enjoy it too much to let it go, but I know the sugars really play havoc on our systems - good for you in getting it all out and doing so well!!! :cp: You are doing better then I! Oh, I bet that your PMS isn't helping at all either - but you hangin there... you should be so proud of yourself.
I will keep you in my prayers for tonight with your speech. But I think you will do wonderfully!!!! I love the idea from Angel with asking your 'shy-guy' for prayers... it is two fold --- like a hug is --- when you give it you get back in return. Come back soon after and fill us all in on how it went, okay.
Hope your computer is doing better and the problems have left. I got a notice from ATT not to open a certain e-mail that it was infected, so it's going around. I was on all day yesterday downloading MICROSOFT UPGRADES & UPDATING my ANTIVIRUS :dizzy: I still don't have them 'all' loaded (have two biggies to load). The last two take hours to load, but they are critical for protection on my cp and I must get them in, so that's why I thought I would write early this morning. This thing will be tied up all day downloading. I have to disable my antivirus to do it (scary)... so I don't open my e-mail or surf while it's loading for fear of something creeping in. Sure do hope your cp is feeling better.
Yeah SAMI, I just love PJ-days or Jammie days! I try to get one day like that in a week - so comfy! And you wouldn't believe the work I get done at home too!!! Just cuz I am in jammies doens't mean I lay around all day - I think that's when I get the most done. I feel no restrictions with clothing, so I get allot of housework done on that day :) I know... I am strange...
How are you feeling today?? I hope that you are feeling much better. If you did have a kidney, urinary or bladder infection they are so painful - feel better soon :grouphug:
Did you decide on what PC you would be getting??? Did you get all your laundry done? I hate doing laundry!!! :p
No problem SUE, :) I chatted with ANGEL and then felt better - I was so worried about losing you all! On the other threads they are PMing one another with their e-mails, so if this were to crash again we could be in touch with one another --- are you and the others open to sharing your e-mails through PM's??? I so would hate to lose touch with you all!
Yep... I am doing just fine, thank-you so much for asking ;) I would have loved to join you with the youth singing --- how did it all go? I bet you did just fine ;)
Hi WILMA, I am so glad that you touched base with us even though it was brief... it was so scary to think we may have lost anyone! I hope that LANEE & MICHELLE(seekhimfirst7) come back too! YOU come back soon, okay!!!!
*******
Well, the boss is up and making us some coffee --- Ohhhh, what a wonderful aroma. Today will be a 'stay-at-home-day' Joe is not feeling very well - he has such a bad head cold. So we'll just be home watching movies and playing scrabble today ;)
I hope that when I next check back I'll see some posting from GARY, JUDY & MARILYN As well and anyone else who decides to come back to us (like AMANDA PANDA? SHERRY? LANEE? MICHELLE?)...

Oh Sunny~I feel so awful..........I read briefly about your eye and then i either got kicked off or it was while i was on vacation and just lurking but I meant to tell you that i'm praying that you will be OK and it's nothing to worry about. I'm so sorry. I checked out your pics and you are adorable in your new glasses! And i just love your new radio, and your kitchen, and your house.....hey, want to come clean my house? ;) I'll come do your laundry if you do. I love laundry, would love it more if i had a washer and dryer. That is a luxury to me now.
I'm nervous about tonight but i have to remember again, that it isn't about me. It's about the Lord and his work. That's what I told shyguy and he told me he thinks of that all the time when he's out of his comfort level. Did I tell you he decided to head up our music ministry for the next Alpha? Big, huge step for him, to lead it, and to be out there in front of everyone. It was an answer to prayer for me. And it's great to see him becoming more of the person he wants to be. I did call him to ask for prayer but didn't get ahold of him. I'll try again.

Sunny: Checked out your pictures -- love the clock and radio. And the card from your Uncle is great. WOW glasses and they look so good on you!!
I am doing pretty good. It is starting to warm up somewhat. We have had a week of minus 34 celcius but this morning it was only minus 11 so not so bad. Hubby got home from work last night at 11 but the van wouldn't start so he had to walk home in the cold (about a 2 mile walk). Thinks the battery has gone dead so he is on his way back to the train station (another 2 mile walk in the cold) and hopefully one of the people he called will show up and give him a boost to get it going. We take so for granted the availability of a vechile and then when it breaks down we seem so lost!
Have gotten lots of our remodelling done -- all the walls that needed to be removed have now been done. The family room is so big now. What was 2 bedrooms and a family room is now one big family room. When we get to painting it and finishing the floor it will really be nice.
Well it has been 10 days now that I am following this revised food plan. Thought that the withdrawals from bread and potatoes for these 14 days would be terrible but not bad at all. Have not missed the potatoes at all - hmmmm I guess the Lord is giving me the strength and power where needed. Did not get enough food in yesterday so last night when hubby came home I did have 2 slices of toast - 100% whole wheat though. And I must say that I didn't enjoy it like I used to -- had no desire at all to have more. So the pull of the 'bread' issue is lessening! Praise the Lord.
Well, it is 11 am and I have lots to get done today, as usual. Also have to try and instal the scanner onto our computer again - always seem to have trouble doing that one, don't know why!

I did the talk and i did get very nervous during part of it. Felt like I was going to lose my breath while talking. But I did my thing and it was fine. A complete stranger said to me while I was leaving "Good job" and i just looked at her like, "Oh really?!" she was so sweet. I told her i was so nervous, and she said i didn't look it at all. Then some others that I do know complimented me, i felt great about my effort. Then I had to go back cuz i forgot my gloves. Tom (shyguy) said hello earlier and I didn't stay after to say hello, didn't want to bother him, and then he motioned to me while I was coming back to get my gloves but I got busy talking to a girl and we walked out together. When at the door someone called my name and it was Tom! He came to tell me I did a great job! Wasn't that sweet! He made a point of telling me. It meant a lot to me. So, now i have to get up early (for me, on a Sunday) and do it again at the end of the 8 a.m. mass.
Hope you all enjoy the Lord's day tomorrow!

Hi everyone.......hope your Sunday is well.
Mitchypoo...I don't know how I missed your weightloss! Thinking about you & Tom, I guess! That's great! http://www.gilly.0catch.com/emoticons/cheer.gif
Good job with the talk!! Also, with Tom! Oh, if he says anything to you about being nervous leading the music...tell him he'll do great & you'll be praying for him the whole time.;) Did you ever get to ask for his prayers? Could have done it at church when you first saw him.....but, sounds like he was, anyway!:) Ok.....so I like the idea of him & you. My DH was really shy when we first met...so was I. If the shy ones get bold enough to start talking to you...it usually means they are VERY interested in you.
Sprout....sounds like your remodelling is really coming along. Of course, I can tell you from experience.....knocking the walls down are the easiest & fastest! Our kids wanted to all get in on that. We all met here on labor day. They knocked down walls, etc, while I grilled! They were always good at destroying things around the house! Just hope your building goes faster than mine. Of course, most of ours is pending a settlement from Maytag Co.
SunnyD....Hello...hope you have a good weekend with hubby. Sorry he's sick. Will pray for him.
Hello to everyone else...gotta get ready for church. Have a great day! http://members.aol.com/gardenmail/anibear.gif

It's a snowy day here in Manitoba. It's quite beautiful out. The only negative thing is all the shovelling that needs to be done.
I'm slowly getting back into proper eating mode. I'm really struggling with those dreaded carbs again. I just need to get back to planning proper meals and not straying from them.
Today our plans are to go to church in the a.m. and then after lunch DH and I are going to a bathroom and kitchen renovation show. Should be fun!
Michele: Way to go on the weight loss. You are my inspiration! Also, I am so happy for you and your guy. He sounds like the real thing>
Sprout: We've been experiencing the same weather as you. What part of BC do you live? Your reno sounds like it's going to be lovely.
Sunny: I'm praying for you! My eyesight is really bad but I've never experienced what you are. I hope all goes well for you.
Angel: I hope your Sunday is going well for you. I appreciate your positive posts.
Sami: How did things go with your laundry? How are you doing with your WOE?
Gary: Where are you? Still celebrating?? A very belated birthday wish to Angie. She and I are pretty much the same age. You asked a while back about my guys. Well, They're doing great. Both liking school and both have girlfriends. They are just a little too comfortable at home. Still acting like teenagers. I secretly look forward to the day when the house (or the basement!!) becomes ours again. They are doing better with the cleaning down there so there is hope for them. They are great guys and I would miss them terribly if they were gone.
Well, better go get ready for church. Have a great day!

Hope you are all having a great day in the Lord.
Wilma: I am from the South Eastern part of BC - the East Kootenays. Today is not to bad - we have a lot of fog this morning - can't see the end of the cul - d - sac but it will lift (I hope) by this afternoon. It has turned so mild after last week when it was so cold.
Am doing so much better in most areas of my life. The food plan I have started on January 1 is really helping and I am finding it not difficult at all. Last Monday, after only following it for 5 days I had lost 2 pounds, so it will be interesting to see what this week's weigh in will be. Should be able to get weighed Tuesday or Wednesday morning as tomorrow morning hubb will be away to work and I will not have transportation to get to the 'scale' at the doctors office.
Other than that all is well here - - even son is settling down again - Praise the Lord.
Hope you all have a restful day in the Lord.

Hi all
I'm feeling so great today! I woke up happy and refreshed and feeling good about life. And i feel thinner and pretty in my new light pink sweater! I had a great talk with my guy last night and i feel more hopeful about us. This isn't the shyguy, his name is Les. The shyguy, while i have a crush on him, i don't think is interested or is not interested in dating now, so we're developing a friendship which is great too.
I'm having some trouble with my eating because I'm not hungry when i'm suppose to eat. (Isn't that odd, for me anyway) So i eat anyway, just have something small so I can continue with the weightloss. This Thursday will be the 2 week point and i'm trying to not weigh until then. Still need to get out there and exercise. I may start walking at the community center with a cousin of mine. Good for both of us and we can socialize too.
Angel, I did talk to Tom before church Sat. evening and so we were both praying for eachother. Thanks for the idea..........it was a good one!
Have a great Monday!

Am feeling really good today -- so I am sure I will have another good week.
We are stilling having a bit of trouble with our van - but have discovered it is the battery so will be getting a new one this weekend. And the weather has warmed up considerably so that makes it so much more tolerable.
Went for my walk this morning and I must say it felt good -- this is only my second time this month due to the cold. So I am going to have to do some catch up here.
Also today is the 12th day of the changes I am making with respect to my eating. Last Monday I had lost 2 pounds and today I lost another 1.5 so I have now lost 3.5 pounds since January 1/04 = am feeling very good about this as it is showing me that I am on the right track and right on target. My 'goal' for January is/was to lose 4 pounds so from what I have lost this week it looks like I can make it plus maybe a little more!!
I am seeing where making the changes just of no potatoes and bread is really helping. I did have potatoes 2 nights ago - about 1/4 what I normally would have had and must say I really didn't enjoy them as much as I have in the past - did not have the desire to have a 'second' helping. And as for bread, even though the plan is for now bread I have have it 2 times and again there has been a change in that area as well. When I had the last slice of bread I tasted like 'mush' and I just wasn't impressed - I am sure that the Lord is leading and helping me in this area as in the past I would 'binge' out on the bread.
Anyway, it is noon and I have lots to do - don't all wives -- so should get going. Want to get most done before 3 or 4 pm so that I can have time to watch Dr. Phil before supper
I know I have been missing! Thanks for missing me too! I have missed you all. Our computer has had some problems ( Norton Anti Virus, the 2nd one has really messed Angie up-- she has a new program now-- cross your fingers for us!) Anyway i am alive and well although I have spent the better part of the last few days with my daughter before she headed off back to school last night. Made her a whole spinach lasagna, cut up and placed in little baggies for her to take back. My son is still in Hawaii until the week-end. Step-daughter with her dad as usual during the week so it's just Angie, myself and my nephew (BOY OH BOY does he miss my son!!!-- no one here to POUND on him!)
Not much exciting here other than-- are you all ready for this???? A new Costco record.....drum roll.... $647.00................some of that was for my daughter's trip back to college though--- and that was only 2 cases of beer too  :nono: for me
I bought a microwave for work at Home Depot last month-- have been eating lean cuisine (2) a day- 1 for break and 1 for lunch-- think I am gaining wait! Sure is good not having cold sandwiches though-- the guys are using it too! for their leftovers and TV dinners! I am the new HERO
WILMA-- A bathroom and kitchen show--- can be VERY expensive I know-- i do some work for a remodel guy-- his last 4 kitchens remodels have cost $35 to $45 thousand-- mostly for cabinets-- but boy do they look great!! Glad to hear those boys are doing well and have girlfriends-- HOWEVER MARTHA-- if they are tooooooooooooo comfortable at home-- it is GUESS WHO'S fault?? ;) My son is 22-- I still make him keep his room clean ( and I am talking within reason) when they used to tell me it was "THEIR" room- I EXPLAINED to them that it was in fact MY ROOM since I paid for the house-- that I allowed them to use it :smug: They got the message--Even my step-daughter got the message (of course I had to remove her door for 3 months a couple of years ago!) NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am not mean-- I just demand respect from them because I respect THEM!! Since my son decided to live at home and not go away to school I charge him rent... slow down gals-- it is only $10 a week for me and $10 a week to his mom-- he doesn't quite understand that one since he hasn't lived with her for 5 years! Too bad! Anyway he doesn't know it but I have saved the money for him and his mom has too! Although he graduated a few weeks ago we have not had a party for him yet- with the holidays and his Hawaii trip-- he will get it all back then-- about 5 grand! I just tried to make him see that rent had to be paid-- a lot of his friends moved out then back home because they "thought" they could make it and have cars, cell phones, dvd's, etc., too! My kids know I love them! It is my JOB to teach them to be productive citizens. So many of my friend's don't want to HURT their kids feelings :( they are so afraid that their kids won't LIKE them! Ya know what? their kids walk all over them! I am so glad to hear your boys are catching on in the cleaning dept.--- maybe? they don't want the new girlfriends to see their old mess  Hey dear WHATEVER WORKS!!!!!!!!!!!! RIGHT
Well gals gotta go..
MICHELE GOOD LUCK with those boys-- I think we are all getting confused on who is who-- I hope you aren't!!
ANGEL My goddaughter heads off to Iraq on the USS BOXER on Wednesday-- as you know we need to keep those prayers coming for all the boys and girls!!!
SPROUT Keep up the good work dear!! This is going to be a great year for you!!!
SUNNYD WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU ARE SO CUTE IN THOSE NEW GLASSES!! JOE IS ONE LUCKY GUY ( HE KNOWS IT TOO!!)
JUDY I hope all is well in your home-- how are those kids doing? the future Ray Romano?
SAMI I hope that new computer gets here soon! Miss seeing your posts-- are you feeling well? How are all those kids doing? Is your husband working out with you?
Really gotta go.............. PRAYERS X A MILLION for all of you!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We are recovering from another storm! We got another 3 inches of snow last night. DS was out in it last night I certainly didn't get to sleep until he was home safe. Fortunately the roads weren't icy and he made it home by 11:30.
I didn't go to Curves this a.m. because of the weather. The streets are pretty much cleared now so I can get out. I have to go for routine blood work today and can't eat my breakfast until after so I'm going as early as I can.
Gary: I agree with you about the rent thing. We told our guys that if they are in school they won't have to pay rent but if they decide to work and live at home they will be contributing to household expenses. As it is they do help out with gas for the car and do buy their own junk food. I will be teaching one of them to clean their new bathroom this weekend. should be interesting. One works all day on Saturdays so he gets a bit of a break.
Sprout: Sounds like you're doing great. Keep up the great work!!
Michele: It sounds like things are really coming together for you. Great job and the eating and finding a friend to walk with. It's not a chore if you can share it with someone.
I better get outside and brush the snow off my roof. Have a great day!

Gary~you have many words of wisdom regarding raising children. I just love how you lovingly discipline them. My parents are really wonderful and i had a lot of responsibility while growing up because of my brother in a wheelchair, (I'm not complaining), so i think they tried to give me some leeway and sometimes did not expect much of me in some areas, like cleaning my room, etc. And so, while i'm not a slob, i have trouble with keeping things clean and orderly. It's good things you are teaching them, to be responsible, they will thank you some day, although it sounds like they already know what a treasure you are!
Wilma, wow, that's a lot of snow. You guys are really getting hit up there aren't you? I guess by comparison, our winter has been mild so far. This a.m. was bad for spin outs. It's just on the verge of freezing rain.........and of course, Minnesotans don't know how to drive....sorry, don't mean to be judgmental but it's true IMHO ;) Hope all goes well with the blood tests.
I had a hard time last night, i just had to have something sweet and i broke into my See's Victoria Toffee last night. Immediately I felt like crap. Tomorrow is my 2 weeks on induction. But this a.m. i'm getting right back on program. I'm afraid the sugar gave me a thumper. And i'm also feeling the fatigue and dull headache from the Epstein Barr so i've started the supplements again and i'll have to make myself go to bed by 9 pm for a couple weeks.
Have had some email communication with the guyfriend who went to CA. He's trying to tell me that something happened to him in CA that he wasn't honest with me and he wants to see me to tell me about it. OH NO! I'm not playing those games....there's nothing he can't tell me in an email. It's just a ploy to see him and i'm not doing it. My gut tells me not to trust him, and I don't.
Have a great day!
Sunny!~Joe's back to work..............so come on girlie! I miss you! Where are you?

Just thought we all could use a reminder fo what is to come in the Spring :)
So good to see everyone! I wasn't getting any e-mails from CEr's :o so I just thought I would check this morning and so many have posted! Even Wilma and Gary! Thanks for asking about me Michele (you made me smile this morning).
Actually I have been spending mega time on this cp with UPGRADES AND UPDATES! The last two Microsoft UPDATES were critical updates and they took 10 hours (together) to load!!!!!! And I don't open my e-mails or go onto other sites while I am loading because I am very vulnerable because I have to shut down my Anti-Virus till these were loaded - scary right now. I just just played it safe by not surfing while it all was loading. So that is another reason I haven't been back yet. What took days felt like months! I was exhausted!
I did get e-mails yesterday from my Curves #4 Thread, so I had been on there briefly to catch up with the ladies... I have been going back to Curves and feel so much better! What a great feeling! I just wonder why I go off like I do when I feel so well when I behave! Human behavior just baffles me to death. Yesterday I was still having what I call a 'weeping-willow' day --- just felt sensitive and weepy all day, but by evening I was beginning to feel better. It seem to take much longer to detox this time, probably all that rich Italian foods I have been stuffing myself with the last two months! "What was I thinking?"
Boy, am I glad to have this format back... I think it's so much easier to use! To put anything in Color, BOLD or Italic - all I have to do is highlight the paragraph, or words and go click on what I want and it's done. Nice & easy! Even the pictures are easier to add.
*******
Hi MICHELE, I am so glad to see you back and to hear that you are doing so well with your program! Isn't it something how your body feels when you have been treating it well and then eat something that isn't so good. You'll get back on track again and feel good... hope your headache goes away soon! I have had a headache for the last two days!! Ouch! Today, I feel great! It feels so good when you don't have to deal with head-pain, doesn't it?
As far as your x-guy-friend, I think you are doing right by following your instincts. Whatever happened between you was a serious clue on this guys intentions and so you should be careful! So glad to hear that you and 'shy-guy' (Tom) are connecting and doing well. All good things come to those who wait :) Also very happy to hear that all went well with your speech too! :cp: Not that I doubted you for a moment!
Thanks for the compliment on my spec's - allot of people have told me they look nice on me. That's nice to hear. So many changes. Don't be too concerned about my eye, Michele, I am okay - really. Just as long as it doesn't change I will be fine. I am set to see the eye Dr. again on the 19th - I will keep you (all) informed. But I can always use your prayers ;) Just so you know - I am not in any pain with it (just don't want to lose it is all). Thank-you so much for caring, I don't want to sound like I don't appreciate your concern because I do... I just don't want you to be worried 'bout me is all ;)
Glad you liked my radio and home... me too :) I really enjoy not only how it looks, but the sound is fantastic. Slowly I am able to do things (as I can aford it) to change the kitchen into a 1950's style kitchen.
ANGEL, Joe is doing so much better - thank you for your prayers. He sounds worse then he is. It all went into his sinus' - poor thing.
Have you heard anything new on your SIL and his father?? As to 'when' they will be coming home in February?
Speaking of my kitchen... Hey there SPROUT... So glad to hear that you are feeling better and doing so well. Remodelling takes so much time and money - doesn't it?! Sounds like you have quite a project ahead of you!!! :o But I have heard that it is all so well worthwhile once it's done! I want to pick up the colors in my new clock and radio for my kitchen - I just love that aqua! So I am looking to paint the cabinets in my kitchen butter yellow, with chrome knobs & handles, Tiled back splash picking up the aqua, red, butter yellow & gray. Yep gray... gonna do the floor with bisque & gray tiles and will redo the counter-top with a textured gray. Gray & Soft Yellow is so pretty together & cheery (you need cheery in Ohio - with all the clouds we have here). I can see it all finished in my head - but just have to wait till I have the $$$ saved up. I want to try and do as much as I can myself so I don't have to go into the thousands of $$$ (like 35,000 - 40,000 that most pay out).
:cp:"Congrats" on your weight-loss of 3 1/2#'s!!!! :cp: I am beginning to see some loss again too. Hope it keeps coming off.
Hi GARY, It's so good to see you again! I have missed seeing your posts. You guys have Norton? So do I and I haven't had any problems at all - it's been a good program. I have the Norton Professional Anti-Virus and it does live updates often (which is really good to have these days). Hope things get better with your cp. It takes allot of work these days to keep them healthy!
I also agree with your discipline. It is the way I grew up too and am happy to have had. It taught me responsibility, accountability & discipline. As far as you asking your son to pay rent - I think my girlfriend should do the same thing with her daughter - to teach her responsibility! She doesn't even know how to write a check and she's 20, has a job and is going to college! We were talking about it again this morning. She really does need to learn how to take care of herself and her needs...
Thank-you so much for the compliment - you and the others are so kind to me and make me feel so good! I haven't felt real great about myself these last few days, but am feeling real good today and hope it continues. I hate to feel crummy (emotioally I mean).
Gary, Just want you to know that I am thinking of you and your family as you all deal with your Goddaughter leaving for Iraq today - she and all the others are in 'our' continued prayers. Please, keep us informed about her, would you?
Hey there SAMI, Have you gotten your new cp yet? Cannot wait to hear what you decided to get and see you back!
Hi SUE, So good to hear from you :) Thank you --- glad you liked my glasses too.
Hi WILMA, Have you unburied yourselves yet??? We are getting allot of very cold temps here and it's snowing today, but we may only get about 2 - 4 inches, not nearly what you all are getting (but that okay by me!) I don't want to shovel my way to the jeep to get to Curves in the mornings... I went again this morning and cannot believe how crowded they are. Of course it's January - and there's all those resolutions going on right now (I don't do resolutions --- I feel it sets me up for nothing but to fail, again). I hope they all keep going, but most will not. We have over 400 sign ups at our Curves now and just got a new machine ~ #11 of 13 out there. I still go three times around even though we got more machines. And after tomorrow - I will have gotten in my 3x this week :) I think that going on TUES-WED-THURS mornings at 8:30 is a better schedule for me then MON-WED-FRI were. Monday's are my jammie days (or PJ days) and I don't want to give that up. It's also my day for catching up with you all (but didn't this week because of UPGRADES for the cp). And next week I have to be at the eye Dr at 10:00 and don't know when I can be on... I will have my eyes dilated and it will be very hard to see. Maybe I will check in before I go at 10:00. Anyway, it's great getting back into the routine of working out again. I really missed it.
*******
Well, I really feel like I have been on here forever, so I will say, "Austa-la-vista" (is that how it goes??? ) for now. Take Good Care of yourselves and keep on keeping on...
"Luck" for you all on staying on your programs and feeling fine :)
Always,
:sunny: SunnyD
PS>>> WE MISS YOU JUDY! I wish there was a way of finding you and bringing you back. I am gonna give it a try - do like Angel did to find everyone.

Can i pick your brain about a digital camera? Thinking of getting one with my $100 gift certificate. There is a Kodak one, 2 megapixel for under $100 but another for about $150. that i think is 3.2 megapixel. Wondering what you all think, is it worth it to save to get a better one? I just want to email pics, maybe have a few printed. My boss has a color printer and paper i could use. I know the more you spend the better the pic quality, but do any of you have the cheaper one and are you happy with it?

GOOD EVENING LADIES
Not too sure about these new little "clowns?" I can't tell them apart-- without my old man glasses
Do you all remember me telling you how I hold my nephew Ron accountable on a DAILY basis with his teachers? If he doesn't get a daily report signed (made by him on the computer) by them or if he has a bad report for the day he loses TV rights? Well anyway yesterday he comes home with a fair? report- however 1 teacher said he had a messy notebook-- which he does-- so I told him to stay after school today and help the janitor out by cleaning the classroom (his teacher LOVED it!) actually Ron enjoyed it too. He also got a D on his math test, the teacher said that he either really wanted to know the answers OR he was trying to kill time in class by asking a lot of questions (SO RON!!) anyway I had hime re-take the test yesterday during lunch ( for no extra points)-- he did better at least- a C. The teachers say the idea of the daily report really helps Ron stay focused.
WILMA-- Hey I am sending Angie to help you teach those boys bathroom cleaning-- she has had tons of practice teaching the kids around here. It's funny, they will unload the dishwasher, clear the table, do laundry, and other chores without being asked-- but the bathroom...FORGET IT! they NEVER clean it without being told (except for my daughter)-- Angie is a bathroom freak  too! Hard to make her happy--- we have 3 bathrooms but the kids all share one due to location to their bedrooms-- if all the kids are here LOOK OUT!! there is more gel flying and face washing cleansers than at costco--- my son even shaves his WHOLE body in there sometimes (a California thing for young men!) and my nephew, well---- let's just say his AIM is horrible  one more ACCIDENT and he knows I am making him a Squatter for life
I wasn't clear I think on my son's rent-- as long as he went to school, had good grades, stayed active, and kept a job up and was responsible with his money, he didn't have to pay rent--- I knew he was to have a year of student teaching and school at the end of his college ( last month he finished with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science- deans list the entire time)- any way he would not be able to work much this coming year-- I felt this was a good way to teach him to set money aside each week-- even if it was only $20-- not too much then, but now after 4.5 years he has close to $5,000 saved he doesn't know about! to help him in the fall when the credential program starts. He will have the next 6 months to work at the sporting goods store and he still will coach at the high school so he will also save more money. If he is still here after he becomes a teacher the rent GOES UP!! Rent around here for a small apartment is $900 up-- and these are in bad areas-- a decent house around here rents for around $1,300 and up.
I hope the weather clears up for you soon--- it was in the 70's here today... :sssh: We Californians are trying to keep it a secret!
[B]SUNNYD I love your new radio! Is it a CROSLEY by chance? Angie got me a little stero with a record player, CD, cassette and radio combination for Christmas-- it came with a catalogue and they have others similar to yours. If you want to see my new toy go to www.crosleyradio.com mine is the CR78 4 in 1 entertainment center listed under products.
I have the dark one. I am not sure which Norton we had, Angie just got it- it was supposed to be the new one- the old one was fine- this one she had a lot of trouble with-- I will tell her what you said-- she is at BUNKO with the teacher friends of hers -- 20 of them-- tonight for her monthly game. Glad Curves is going well for you again.
MICHELE We got a 3.2 megapixel (sorry Angie is gone and knows the details) anyhow, it seemed to work fine-HOWEVER- it broke and we had to send it back-- a problem by buying over the internet-- we got a good price on a decent camera.... but we had to send it in to be fixed-- if we would have bought it at Costco they would have just given me a new one since we only had it a few months. Anyway it is still "out there" waiting for results. I think the ticket to not being a slob-- who isn't from time to time anyway-- is to downsize when needed and get EVERYTHING CLEANED once a year!! Really work hard for a few week-ends to clean everything, then just pick up when the PILES get too big--- in our house we allow everyone to have 1 pile-- the kids in their rooms, me by my recliner ( newspaper articles not read, bills to pay, etc) and Angie in our bedroom-- the catch is the PILE needs to be NEAT! How are you doing today with those guys? Must be nice having them chase you for awhile!! Your worth it!! Don't be "caught" too easy now ;) ;)
doitformeSUE My goddaughter headed out to Iraq this morning, it was all over the news here for the last few days, being a Navy area and all. I am going to try and send some of this weather to you-- in the 70's here all day today-- everywhere people complaining--"it's too hot!" I know you don't want to hear it  How is the job treating you these days? still busy at church? still waiting to use the computer in the other home? Take care!
ANGEL, SAMI, JUDY, SPROUT, AMANDA, anyone I forgot SORRY! Hope all is well with you all today!
Well Ron and I have some burritos to ATTACK before Angie comes home...
Good Morning!
Boy-O-Boy, did we ever get snow last night!!! We woke up to 7 inches! And right now it is only 18* --- Buuuuurrrrrrrr.
I didn't like those little guys either, and it looks as if they removed them. I glad for that. I posted and saw they were what came up and thought :p yuk!
*******
GARY, I went to the site and checked out the player's and couldn't find your model :?: They are really cool items though... nice gift! Maybe you could direct me to yours when you get a moment or have Angie get a digital picture of it in your home. Mine is a TEAC SL-D90 AM/FM STERIO RADIO CD-PLAYER W/ DIGITAL CLOCK.
Hi MICHELE, I have an OLYMPUS D-520 (only a 2.0 Megapixel) paid $210.00 w/ tax at the Costco wholesale club, but am looking to get the new OLYMPUS - here's the link to the New camera I want so you can see it. Joe said he may get it for me on my birthday! http://hardwarecentral.dealtime.com/xPR-Olympus_Stylus_400 I just love this camera. Two family members got it for Christmas and I had a chance to play with it - it's wonderful. The best part is that you can load the pictures onto your pc so quickly with the USB plug they give you with the camera. The one I have now is the same way, but takes two AA bateries and it eats them up... this New one has a rechargeable that seems to last forever! And it is a higher Megapixel. If you want something basic - have you looked into the HP's? There so many nice ones that come with a dock and they are very reasonable in prices. The best thing I could tell you is to go play with them at Office Max or Wal-Mart and ask allot of questions. What frustrates me with the camera I have now is the fact that I have to wait for the darn flash! It seems to take forever sometimes... but not with the NEW OLYMPUS I want to get. Just take a look see at the link I sent... "LUCK!"

THANKS SUE!! You are such a sweet person!
Have a great day - and may it be a very HAPPY one for you all!

Thanks for the advice, but i also need to find something within my budget at Target cuz that's where my gift certificate is from... It's the ports and dock things that confuse me. I don't understand it all so i'm not sure what to look for.

[B]Sunny you are awesome with the computer! That is exactly it. Notice the top for my "OLD" records, the side for my "OLD" cassettes and the front for my "NEW" CD's and radio-- quite a cute little system--- Angie did do good-- but then she always does! She knows just what to get me for my birthday, etc-- even if she can't think of a "purchased" gift!!! Am I giving too much information? TOUGH!!!! lol

Hello I am sorry to to be AOL but I am really down in the dumps. All day my head has been spinning and my Kidneys are killing me. I just keep thinking this will pass. We did get a new Gateway we were going to buy for dell but I got a bad salesman and just said forget it. I am stilling cating up on all the posts sunny D I think your right about giving out emails I am willing to give any of you my e-mail. I really miss all of you when I haven't heard from you. I still miss some of our old ones who helped start this email like Zoe,Sherry,Debbie,Jill and Amanda and Many more. I think about them often and wonder if they are OK. Michele I bought my camera at Target and they run good deals on them all the time. Most now don't need the docks they load right in your printer or computer. Mine is 2.2mp and make sure you get an opital zoom also. I have had a lot of fun with mine just taking pictures and showing them then deleting them. I will figure out how to send it online (I am hoping by the end of the weekend)
I sorry my back is killing me sitting here I will post more friday.
Missed you all,

Hi all!
Thank goodness those creepy smilies are gone....;)
My last day was really nice, they gave me a really nice indoor plant, unusual, it's called a Bird's Nest and a very nice card, very touching. And the most surprising part is the snot girl who's been so mean to me, well she was really sweet, and said something sincere and nice in the card and closed with...God Bless, Stephanie. We all went to lunch and had a nice time, i ate on program, had a tilapia filet and grilled vegetables, it was really good. I was a little sad to leave, they are nice ladies and fun, but i also think i made the right decision. And i don't know if i told you but they are going to help me to get my insurance agent license! I'm so excited about that. Maybe my securities license also! Then I could handle the money and my boss wouldn't have to be in the office all the time.
I've got 2 weeks of Atkins induction under my belt and I've lost 11 lbs. I haven't been losing this week, so i was a tad disappointed, but i'm also happy with 11 lbs. overall. I'm staying on program still and feeling good about it. Just need to exercise.
Gary~That's a cool stereo thing. Very nice. That Angie, she does have good taste.
Sami~sorry your back is hurting. Doesn't sound good if you think it's your kidneys. Do take care, have you been to the dr? Don't let something like that go, could be dangerous.
Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Awwe SAMI, I am so sorry you are in such pain with your kidney's... what is wrong exactly??? Are you being treated with meds (I hope!)? You are in my prayers also for a full recovery!
Glad to hear you decided on Gateway... my family really likes theirs. And dummy-me... I totally forgot about Target. They DO have nice camera's there too.

Today, I am met my girlfriend for grocery shopping (at around 9:30) & then we went out to lunch. We didn't go yesterday or last week because she pulled her back out at work and has been laid up for almost two weeks now. This was the first time getting together in that amount of time. I had to really bundle up - it is so very cold! Only 15* right now, but the sun is out - that's makes it a bit easier to bear. It did stop snowing finally (got almost 11"), but it looks as if we are in for another storm over the weekend... hope it isn't too bad.
Joe & I got some real bad news last night... one of our close friends from Tetelestai (a passion play we did for 17 years) passed away from a heart attack yesterday. He went for tests earlier that day & came home. His wife was at work and she tried to reach him all day to find out what the results of the testing was & couldn't reach him. When she got home she found him cold and very dead in his favorite chair. So darn sad! They weren't that much older then us... maybe by 10 years. All I know is that it's too young to die! So we'll have another funeral to go to this weekend.
God Bless!

Have been keeping up with all the posts - everyone seems to be doing ok.
Gary: I do like the picture of the radio that Sunny posted -- Angie does have good taste!!
Sunny: 15* - that is better than what we have been getting up here in Canada - we live real close to the Washington State border but we have had a string of 7 days with it being minus 34* celcius - let me tell you that is cold. It has warmed up considerably where it is now around minus 5 celcius so it is not to bad - but sure am looking forward to the spring and summer weather.
Went for my walk this morning - getting close to my 700 mile goal. Today is day 16 of food plan. I did 14 days and then the next phase is for 21 days. But I am going to do the 14 day one over again - basically they are the same with the exception of the bread and potatoes. I am working on keeping those out of my food plan as much as possible. In 14 days I had potatoes only once and bread only 4 slices so that was not bad - I am going to continue on this way because I feel so much better. And just making changes such as from 2% milk down to skim milk, changing cereal from corn flakes to shreddies or oatmeal makes a change also. Will be getting weighed again Monday or Tuesday depending on when I can get to the scale due to my hubbys work schedule.
Just cleaned out our clothes closet - do this every January - it now looks rather empty but it sure gets full by the end of the year even when it seems like we are not buying a lot of clothes.
I also was able to go today and purchase 2 new pair of pants - down in size from last time. Felt good. Next month am going to see about getting some new tops -- hubby agreed that if every month I am down 5 or more pounds that I could 'treat' myself with some type of clothes -- so I am really going to work on it!!
Well it is now 1:20, have done my walk, done some shopping, cleaned up the bedroom closets, hubby and son have gotten the upstairs tv up and running, and we have the roast in the oven for dinner. I am looking forward to walking on my treadmill this afternoon -- next month we will be having a fellow come out and rewire some lights for us in the family room, then we will get the primer and start the painting!! Also looking at getting new cutters up as ours have some holes in them and when the snow melts and then freezes we are having ice on the driveway - not nice. But things are looking up finally!!
Well, should run, am feeling a tad hungry so am going to go and have one of my prepared salads.

Hi everyone....didn't mean to be gone so long! I had 4 viruses in my pc! I've really had a rough time with it. Hopefully, it's ok now.
Gary...I'll be MUCH in prayer for your goddaughter! It's going to take a lot of prayer to see them all through. My SIL says he can feel the prayers! Says others talk of feeling the prayers over the miles. Thank you all for praying for SIL & his family. We're hoping he'll be home soon. Of course, that means others will go in to replace his unit. That's sad. The helicopter that crashed last week was part of his unit.
SunnyD...so sorry about your friend. You & all are in my prayers. SIL feels he will be coming home February 26th. Gina & kids are going back to Fort Sill, Oklahoma the weekend of January 24th. That's next weekend. We'll miss them, but, hope they can be a family again.
Mitchypoo...I usually found the "gut instinct" to be pretty good to listen to. I'm praying for all to work out for you. Sounds as if you & Tom are doing pretty well. ;) My new camera is a Kodak EasyShare CX4230, 2.0 mega pixals...I absolutely love it! Great pics....plug into comuter with UBB cord it came with & transfer immediately. Cord to plug into TV & watch! It cost $150.00 at Wal-Mart...should have them at Target. I've been able to do anything I want with them.
Sami...I'm sorry you're so sick...praying for you.
Wilma...HOpe you're doing well tonight.
Hello to everyone else....I'm just so tired...been a very long week. I'll try to post more tomorrow. Goodnight.

 Morning Everyone!!
I cannot stay on right now, but was just reading your post ANGEL and thought I would make a very slight correction --- it's not a UBB cord - it's a USB cord that plugs into your USB port in the tower. Most do come with it now - my Olympus did also.
Good to hear from you ANGEL! I will have to write later... hubby has to go to work & I have to get him breakfast.

HAPPY WEEK-END LADIES
All is well here EXCEPT Angie and I have colds now. Nothing serious just runny noses and sore throats. Not enough to hurt my appetite! Just finished putting all the stuff in the crock-pot for a beef stew-- not sure when we will have it, they say maybe some rain and coolness here on Monday but today it is in the high 60's already and absolutely BEAUTIFUL outside.
All alone for a little while-- Angie is taking my step-daughter to the train so she can go visit her cousin for her cousin's 16th birthday, my son won't be back from Hawaii until 2 am Sunday, nephew at his mom's for his friday night visit and of course my daughter is down at school.
Thanks for the compliments on my stereo, it isn't a top of the line stereo for these days that's for sure, not nearly as good a sound as our real one, but it sure serves the purpose Angie got it for- so I could listen to my old records from the 70's-- the bonus is that it looks real nice in our living room too.
SAMI I hope you are feeling better by now. Still waiting for those pictures ;) I just know you will get time sooner or later on your new computer just as soon as those kids get tired of it  or not. Is the big rush at work all done now until the next big buying season?
SUE Sending sunshine :flow2: as fast as I can!! Any new job leads?
WILMA Well dear, how did the bathroom lessons go? From experience here I can tell you the lessons NEVER end  You should hear it around here when the kids PLAY dad-- quite comical-- they are just kidding-- I think. Of course they play me a lot bossier than I really am-- I think! ;)
MICHELE So glad to hear the last day at your job went well-- what a great lunch too!! Just love going to the beach fish houses here on the coast and eating fish and vegetables-- so healthy and good. The Atkins diet really seems to be working for you-- 11 pounds GONE  say bye-bye!! There sure are a lot of fast food places and manufacturers making low carb meals now-- even Lean Cuisine has them. Good luck with those boys you hottie!!!!!!!!!!!
SUNNYD So sorry to hear of another loss for you and Joe. Were the test your friend went in for his heart? How sad for the wife to find him like that. I am going to send you some sunshine too! We have plenty here now until Monday. I love your 50's kitchen-- my daughter worked a couple of years ago at a 50's diner (chain) called Ruby's-- just love to eat there-- patty melts, cheeseburgers and fries--- and soooo good for you too!    You are going to be in the 90's in no time girl!!
SPROUT You too! are going to get some of the sunshine I am sending! (I hope)-- I have a few friends that live in Washington, Sequim and Benton City-- been a cold year for them and I am sure yours is harsher! My goddaughter is in the Navy and from Washington-- when I picked her up from the airport after Christmas she was saying how nice it felt to be where it was warm-- she has only been here a few months-- anyway I was freezing! that day it was in the low 50's and windy!! You will probably be at that 700 mile club by the time you read this--- or closer! Tell your husband to get a second job cause Gary says he'll need it to buy PAY for all those new clothes EACH month this year!!!
ANGEL Thanks for the prayers for my goddaughter. As always your entire family are in my prayers. Sorry to hear of those pesky virus things-- Angie takes care of all that here, she changed from the first Norton we had to the new one and she had trouble, now she has Macafee I think. I don't understand it-- Sunny said the norton pro one is the way to go but I know you understand computers very well so I am telling you 'nutin  How is the house and settlement coming along?
JUDY Waiting to hear from you. Hope all is well and you are just busy.
Well I am going to take it easy the rest of the day and relax and try to get over this cold-- tomorrow will be a tough one for me-- church (that's the easy part!!!) then 2 football play-off games--- it's not easy watching 7 hours of football-- it's not-- no really-- it's not  Of course it would be A LOT easier if Angie didn't have that how can you sit ther for 7 freakin hours watching football EYE on me  :drill:
ANGIE will be getting up early in the morning, 4am to go help out at the marathon we have every year-- the one she and I did a few years back-- she wants to train for another one but I..... well..... how do you spell L-A-Z-Y?? Anyway she helps another friend of ours check in all the runners gear they want to leave until after the race-- should be a great day for a marathon-- perfect weather!
You all have a nice week-end with your families and tell them to be good to you 'cause you DESERVE IT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hello I hope everyone is doing well. I woke up in a lot of pain today and by this afternoon I couldn't take it so I went to the Dr and I have a bad kidney infection. He said my white count was real high and red count was high. So I hope now I will start getting better. The reason I didn't go to the Dr in the first place is because I was hoping I could drink a lot of fluids and get over it because antibiotics are very hard on my tummy!
Michele-It sounds like you are on your way to a new life! It is scary to make such a big change but you have all of us here praying for you! And things at that job ended on a good note that makes you feel even better! I got my camera at Target it is a canon it was 199.99. I love it! Start watching Target will start clearencing all of the camera to make room for the new models. So you will be able to get a nice one for very little if you just wait.
Ez-My mom still has a 8 track player! She use to have a wind up record player that was fun to play with but she lost it in the fire years ago. I am glad Ron is doing well. I have taken your advice with my DD and her teacher and I talk often. And I have to sign that I have checked her homework out everyday. With the daily note I let the teacher know when she had a bad night and when she get in trouble because she doesn't want to do her homework. It has made a big diffrence! We are working together and holding her accountable!
Wilma-Thanks for your prayers. I dread the next few days because I know this med. will kill my stomach! And this med you can't take the zantac with so I will have to make sure I am very careful what I eat!
Sunny-I have my next camera picked out also I want the canon digital one that has changeable lens. It take lens from the auto focus (which I have several). Right now they are 900.00 on sale so it will be a long while.................... before I can afford. (you are so right about the digital eating batteries)
Sprout-How are things going for you? You have been in my thoughts and prayers. When do you go back for tests? How is your son doing? I pray things are going well.
Angel Lover-I am praying that your SIL gets home safe and sound. I sounds like things are getting really tense over there. Have you gotten any news on a settlement yet? I pray it comes soon.
Sue-Is it any warmer yet? I was Icy here today. When is your trip? I pray you have a great time.
Got to go your in my prayers,

Good Morning to all,
I read the last couple days of posts and I am; so glad I am in (sunny), mostly mild California. LOL I whine when its below 40. But I can't imagine being where its soo cold. It will take me a while to get your names straight, but I would like to be part of this forum.
This is my second time around for Low Carbing. I learned a lot from Atkins, but am modifying my woe this time around. Been reading SBD and also "life without bread" So far I am down a total of 7 ponds in 2 weeks of being on plan. I am recently retired from my job, working in a state mental hospital. But started working part time this week. I enjoy posting but do tend to get behind sometimes.
Its just about time to get ready for church, this is my Sunday for nursery and helping dil out with her SS class. We had a great speaker last week Ron Carlson anyone heard of him? I hadn't until pastor started talking about him coming to speak. Very good info.
In His Love,

 WELCOME GARNET!!!! So good to see someone new join us. I am on the SBD... I began in July losing 16 lbs. but then went wayyy off during the holiday's. Just began again on Tues. this week and already feel so much better and have lost 4 lbs. of the 6 1/2 I gained over the time period of Thanksgiving till this Monday. I also do Curves 3x a week & just started back on Tues. - WILMA and the others here were very encouraging to go there and I have really enjoyed it. MICHELE (Mitchypoo) is on the ATKINS if you want to compare notes and EZMONEY (Gary) is from California too.
Enjoy your warm temps, because we are at 20* right now and expecting more snow (we have 12 " now) & our low was at 7* And don't you worry about keeping up at all... just post when you can - it's so good to have someone new join in. No pressure here.

He came home after the test and felt tired... so very sad and he will be so missed! He was a great guy! He loved music and theatre and was very talented & a child of God.
Well, I really must be going... I will catch up more tomorrow after I get back from the eye Dr's if I can see :o It's at 10:00 tomorrow - so say a prayer everyone that there are no changes in my left eye - that will be good news.
God's Blessing for everyone...
Have a very RESTFUL day in the LORD today!

HI LADIES-
Well Ron (my nephew..info for our new member Garnet5) and I just got back from church. Angie is still at the marathon, she left a little after 4 this morning. I probably would have stayed home from church today because of my cold but Ron had to acolyte-- so glad I went, felt better and we had a Pastor speak on Muslims. He is from POBLO-- People of the Book Lutheran Outreach-- his family has sung and spoke at our church before-- very interesting and fullfilling work they do for Christ!
Just vegged yesterday watching When Harry Met Sally ( for the umpteenth time-- one of Angie's favorites) Forces of Nature with Sandra Bullock aand Ben Afleck-- I will watch ANYTHING with Sandra Bullock and Julia Roberts!! and then Goodbye Girl with Patricia Heaton and Jeff Daniels on TNT-- liked it too-- couldn't stay up for Sleepless in Seattle-- another Angie favorite... OK mine too!! I am a chick-flick kind of guy :sssh:
Just getting ready for the football games to come on. My son and his friend got in from Hawaii around 2 am-- I heard them come in but didn't get up, my son is still in bed (on Hawaii time still) but his buddy left early to go surfing, really big waves here right now-- the kid probably only slept 2 hours-- ah.. to be 22 again!
Had my beef stew crock-pot over pasta last night-- pretty good-- never had a recipe for beef stew over pasta before-- real easy-- brown stew beef with flour and season salt and a few cloves of garlic. Put in crock-pot with a few cut up carrots and celery, a couple of onions, tablespoon of worcestershire sauce, cup and a half of BBQ sauce, can of diced tomatoes and a cup and a half of beef broth-- cook for 7 to 9 hrs and serve over wagon wheel pasta. Not too bad and easy too, it is more of a BBQ beef taste though than regular stew.
Well better help out around here with a load of laundry or something before the wife gets home :drill: Just kidding! No! Really!!! I am never in trouble with her  Never
Have a great day- Gary

Today is a good day - and it is only going to get better from now on.
As of 10:30 this morning I have completed 700 miles walking at our rec plex since Jan 2/02 - that is 2 years, 19 days. Now you have to remember that when I started this walking program I would go from the parking lot to the inside of the building and have to sit down due to the pain in the hips and being out of breath - about 500 feet. The rec plex is marked - 1 lap is 820 feet = 6.5 laps = 1 mile. So after sitting I would do one lap taking just about 15 minutes to do it because of the pain in hips. I am now doing 7 laps (1 mile) in 25 minutes - quite a bit of improvement I would say. I know my doctor is very happy with this.
As for the weight during this time I only lost 16 pounds as I was still not really in tune with what the food I was eating was doing to me. At my last weigh in for 2003 I noticed something I did not like - not proud of at all - I had gained 15 pounds in the year when I was supposed to be working on losing it. So I decided that I needed to 'get real' and do something as this weight is really reducing my length of life and my quality of life.
So I recorded my weight for January 1 - nothing to be proud of as it came in at 270. After a lot of praying, and listening to Christ for advise, I decided on following what Dr. Phil had to offer. I looked over his Rapid Start Plan and noticed the following: (a) no bread or potatoes for 14 days (b) some of the veggs in his sample menus I just don't like. So I decided that I was going to do the following: (a) no bread or potatoes for 14 days (b) the veggs he suggested that I didn't care for I exchanged for veggs I did like using his food guide to get ones that were equivelent in value.
I am now doing this plan again - Dr. Phil's plan after the 14 day one is for 21 days and it allows bread 13 times and potatoes 3 times but I have decided that I am going to stay on the 14 day plan. I must confess that yes, I have had boiled potatoes 1 times in 19 days - about 1/4 of what I normally would have had, and I have had some bread - 6 slices - but the desire to have it for snacks or just to eat and eat and eat of it has gone. In fact the last time I ate the bread I must say I did not enjoy it at all.
So what would I have for breakfast? This morning, after walking for 1 mile with our friends, we went for coffee - I had bottled water and 2 scrambled eggs - that's it. After we finished this I wanted to get in one more 1 more mile walked so that I would have my 700 miles so hubby and I went right back to the 'track' and I did it - so it was 2 miles walked today. We will be doing it that way from now on so that I can get in 2 miles each day. But getting back to the breakfast - I never thought eating just 2 scrambled eggs without toast or hashbrowns could be done - but guess what it can and you don't feel so bloated after!!
Anyway, after our walk of 1 mile and before our 'coffee break' I went to get weighed. And I must say at this time that I have a big smile on my face :D - last week I after weighing I though - if I could lost 1.5 pounds I would be delighted. Well I DID IT -- 1.5 pounds this week also -- this makes 5 pounds gone in 19 days :cb:
If I was to keep up with just losing 1.5 pounds every week this year do you realize how much that would be at the end of the year. 78 POUNDS !!!! So if anyone tells me or you that 1.5 pounds is not very much or that 5 - 7 pounds is not much for a month when you have a lot to lose - don't believe them - it is the only way to go in order to lose it and keep it off - and without having to much sagging skin!!
Anyway I am feeling very blessed, I believe that I have 'got it' as Dr. Phil would say. I do believe that with the Lord directing me to follow this very sensible outline of how to eat (notice I did not say diet as it is not one) that I will be able to lose what I don't need and regain some of my health!!
Ok now that I have rambled on and on - how is everyone else doing!!

Hi all!
Welcome Garnet!! It's great that you have joined us, would love to get to know you. As Sunny mentioned I am doing Atkins and i like low-carbing. I feel better when i don't eat carbs and sugar. I've had some difficult days this weekend, staying on program, but today is a new day, a new week, and so i'm back on!
Today is officially my 1st day as a full-time employee here and i was a little nervous but it's going really well! There is one lady who i thought might not be so nice cuz i took her office and i think she feels a little threatened but she's being nice.
Tonight is the 1st night of our new Alpha course! May i ask you all to pray for everyone involved in putting on this program, for our music ministry, and our speakers, and our kitchen help and most of all for our participants who may be a tad anxious, not knowing what to expect. I'm praying that they will feel the Holy Spirit there and it'll be a place they want to be. Angel~ i took your idea again and sent Tom(shyguy) an email today letting him know i'll be praying for him tonight cuz it's his 1st night as the music ministry leader. He said he's going to play for the Lord and he sounded confident! It's so exciting!
OK Sunny~it's Monday, weekend is over with your honey! Where are you? Or, does honey have the day off? :p

HI LADIES
CONGRATULATIONS SPROUT! :cb: :cp:  :balloons: WE ARE SO PROUD OF YOU!
You will knock out another 100 in no time.
Saw Dr. Phil today for the first time in several months-- boy some people have had such wonderfull success on his program. Something to think about.
Read today that the AVERAGE person gains 1 pound a year between ages 25 and 55-- I am average for sure-HA! at 25 I weighed 155 pounds, 24 years 11 months later I weigh 180.
Also read that if you walk BRISKLY for a half hour each day, 7 days a week, EVERY DAY-- you shouldn't gain any weight- you might even lose a little-- that is eating NO more than you are now.
MICHELE I hope Alpha goes well-- Prayers
Michele I also hear the Vikings are going into the dry cleaning business-- they are getting good at folding ;)

Good Morning everyone!
I was hoping to see that GARNET came back... hope to see you soon.
All went as well as possible on Sunday at our friends wake... my goodness! The people there! He will be very missed by so many. I know he is with our Lord and in a very good place, but my heart sure goes out to his family and grandchildren ~ they really will miss their 'papa'. He was in clown ministry and he was called "papa-elmo". We are glad we went to see everyone. We even had some time to visit old friends we had not seen in years.
Yes, you are very right MICHELE, Joe did take the day off yesterday and he came with me to the eye Dr's for my second check on the freckle in my left eye. Because my eyes were being dilated he wanted to be with me (so sweet). It was such a good news day when she told me that nothing changed in my eye and it looked fine for now. I go back in 6 months for another eye exam. Also, she did a whole new exam on me and took my new glasses away from me :( to be readjusted :) So hopefully, when I get them back this time all will be fine. I miss them now - I really liked 'em. They are like a nice piece of jewelry :) After we went to the eye Dr. we went to drop off the load of 'good-will' things we gathered up from doing some after christmas cleaning... it was great to unload all that in more ways then one. Then we went to lunch and off to do some shopping at Penney's & other dept stores. We got a couple new HUGE pillows for our sofa. Just love 'em. They are so soft and comfy!!!! Too comfy... I came home threw them on the sofa and couldn't wait to break them in watching a movie with Joe. Then we wached the first "American Idol" show... just absolutely too  funny!!!!! I love the first few shows the most - just way too funnny! Being that Joe & I are into music, we try to predict who will win the idol. We were right the first time and the second we thought Clay would come in first, so we were a bit off.
My goodness the snow we are getting here :o I bet we have a good 18 / 19" of snow here so far and it is still snowing. We woke up to 8* this morning with lows below 0 - so very cold!! Everything crunches under your feet. But it is so very pretty!!!
*******
How did things go at Alpha, MICHELE? Sounds like all is going so well with your life right now... new job and a great new relationship beginning - just so good! I am so very happy for you! Give yourself a 'pat-on-the-back' and keep up the GREAT job on your food program, Michele!! :cp:
Hey there GARY, Yes, I saw Dr. Phil's show too - they all look so good - don't they!!!! That's gonna be me too - this year. How did ANGIE do at her marathon?? What was her time? I bet she did well with all the running she does. She is such an inspiration!
My father and brother are sure happy campers after this weekend of games... the Patriots did very well!!! I can hear their "yell's" all the way from Maine :)
Your dinner sounded wanderful! So... ... ... when can we all come over, huh, huh, huh???? ;)
:goodvibes:  Congrats SPROUT!!!! :goodvibes: You are just doing so well!! I watched Dr. Phil yesterday and Oprah - they both had very inspiring shows!!!! I too think that I have "gotten-it" --- I feel wonderful! I will be 47 next month and my goal is to be thinner by the time I turn 48. I WILL too! I have always loved the number 7 (being it's the Lord's # and all ;) ) --- so this will be my year too! There are LOW CARB Lean Cuisines out now too!!! Wonderful! Besides... everyone all around me in on the SBD, so it should be allot easier. When those you are around allot believe in what 'you' do - it makes life so comfortable and flowing. Keep up the great job, MARILYN!!!!!!
*******
Well gang, I really must be getting caught up on my laundry. I have too many piles of clothes :o I find myself tripping over it in our laundry-room so it really needs to be done! GARY, did you ever get yours done? I really do hate doing laundry ~ out of all the household chores to be done, that is the worse for me. But someone has to do it :dz:
Later guys!
"Hello's" and 'well-wishes' for everyone today!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha! Gary~Very funny! You leave my poor Vikings alone...;)
Nasha~what a beautiful name...like Garnet too. Sorry you lost your post...now your an official poster at 3fc...seems to happen to all of us atleast once. Hopefully you can redo when you have some time.
Sunny~well, if we have to miss you, i guess it's ok if you are with your honey ;) ... Glad the Dr. visit went well!
It's really cold here and we're getting a dusting of snow. My tub is stopped up again, seems that the pipe going out to the septic is not set right and when it gets too cold, it freezes. Not fun. Sometimes Drano will unclog it, or it'll just have to get warmer.
Alpha went well, we had a nice group, about 15 people who came as participants. We hoped for higher numbers but we'd do it if there was only 1 person. The music ministry was great! They did a great job, but Tom didn't speak, he got one of the girl singers to do that. I helped him pack up all his equipment afterward. It gave us a chance to talk. He did make a point of talking to me before the dinner too which was nice. Actually, he sat at my dinner table too, but I got the feeling he maybe wanted to sit next to a girl named Nicki. Which is ok with me, cuz i'm crazy about Les and i'd like Tom to be happy. Nicki is or was recently engaged, so who knows?
My computer is messed up again so i'm only able to check email at work. But that's ok.
Doing well w/my WOE, still need to exercise. I saw Dr.Phil's show too yesterday and i noticed that they all have made exercise a part of their life. I just think, how can i do that in this cold? I'm just making excuses i'm afraid.
Have a great day all!

Hi GARNET, It was so good to see that you posted. So sorry you lost your longer post, but it has happened to me too many a time - especially when I first started. Now when I write I just open my e-mail and write what I want to share and then go onto the site do a highlight, copy & paste from the e-mail & finish up at the site. I don't always do that, but when I know I will be writing a longer post I do. We look forward to hearing from you later - hope the dentist appointment went well :)
Hi MICHELE, I never doubted that all would go well with Alpha. Good size group for the middle of winter :) I think.
I am a bit confused about the guys though... :faint: Tom (shy-guy) IS/was the guy you were interested in, wasn't he? Who is Les... was he the other guy that you had gone out with and you weren't too sure of at first?
Hope I am not prying... ...
Later girl... haveta go get dinner finished.
It smells delish!

HAPPY TUESDAY LADIES
Happy 'cause it's a short week!! Got home from work early, felt a little better today from my cold but Angie is still under the weather-- if you are looking to invest in anything in the near future THINK KLEENEX! she is going through boxes  well maybe not so funny to her :nono:
My son just called from work and gave me good news-- while he was in Hawaii we were notified that he may not have graduated-- seems he had plenty of credits and a 3.89 GPA-- However-- one of his classes (women's studies) didn't fit in a certain requirement catagory-- or so the person looking over his credits thought. Anyway he gets that info on Sat. night with his mail- plus I had a phone call from that advisor-- so he thinks he has to take 1 more class to complete a catagory-- within his major-- anyway the semester started today so he wasn't sure if he could get in a class-- he e-mailed his advisor and 2 teachers (of the classes that would fit, to request permission to crash-- and get in) his advisor e-mailed back to him that he was on sabbitical but he would contact the office of registration and discuss with them the problem-- then the 2 teachers e-mailed him back and told him he was such a good student that NO PROBLEM he could get in their class if needed-- anyway (am I rambling  ) They just moved a couple of classes around so HE DID GRADUATE-- this little problem would have ended up costing him $1,000 in class fees, $150 in parking and lost time from work-- a real pain in the you know what for nothing.
SUNNYD Thanks for asking about Angie's time in the marathon-- guess I didn't explain very well-- she worked at it as a volunteer at the gear check-in booth-- her time was 5am until 1:30pm  Angie and I walked this particular marathon in 2001-- she really wants to do it again. We like to volunteer at these events when we don't participate in the run-- it is a lot of fun! Something YOU all can do--PLUS it helps to get you all excited about exercising!! I know some are limited on what they can do but at some of these events all we do is hand out water to the runners-- and we know how much that means because we sure appreciate it when we are running.
I did 31 minutes--410 calories--3.6 miles on my elliptical this afternoon-- but it was at the easy speed. I noted that I read if you do a half hour each day (and EAT THE SAME) of BRISK walking you won't gain weight (won't lose any either though at only a half hour) So I am really going to try hard to do at least a half hour every day.
I am with you on MICHELE and her guys-- don't worry about her Donna, she is from California-- she's just a PLAYER ;)
MICHELE You didn't see that did you dear :o Great-- I think anyway on the Alpha-- If we could get 15 people to a bible study (other than our pastor's) we would feel so blessed! Just keep planting the seeds dear! The crop will grow-- maybe now-- maybe later-- not our problem! God just wants us to help with the message-- we sometimes get dissapointed on numbers and feal like we fail-- not true! we don't see the whole picture!!
You are right about the exercise!! YOU HAVE TO-- in order to feel better and lose to keep it off-- I know not everyone can exercise as much as they want (even in the cold) but ya have to start somewhere-- just look at the improvement in SPROUT in 2 years-- and she goes at a turtle pace! She will probably admit (no offense SPROUT on your pace- HUGS-) that if she continued eating the same as when she started walking that she probably would not have gained any weight-- maybe not lost too much but not gained any-- the benefit SHE FEELS BETTER!! even though the weight is still there-- and she continues to get faster and further-- so- in time- she will start losing a little more, then a little more, then a little faster, further, You get my point-- your smart!! Not sure what you can do in doors (if you can't find a mall, rec center to walk at indoors) but how about just starting with basic exercises and go from there when the weather changes. You WILL GET IT!
GARNET I hope the dentist went well. We have all lost posts I think, I used to lose them all the time because they were too long-- not sure why I don't anymore-- SunnyD is too smart on the computer for me- I can't figure out how to do what she does (OK-I don't try) anyway I used to just post shorter ones, post one then post another right after that one.
Well gotta get the nephew- Later, Gary

:cp: I am so happy to hear that it all worked out for your son!!!! Whew! :o That would have been a costly way to graduate, so glad it all worked out for him!

Ok folks,
It is 11 PM I finally got my turn on the puter. DD's is down and she can't afford to get a new one right now. So we share.
I had a busy weekend, don't even remember what I did LOL. Church was great, well I had a good time in nursery. I am really excited I am joining a Women's bible study. It starts 3rd of Feb. Its called Becoming Women of Excellence. Been a while since I have done that. It was too hard while I was working. Didn't have set days off cuz I worked in a hosp.
Dentist went well thanks for asking. It was for a cleaning and he said no new problems.
Son, DIL, and 5 grands and I are off to Monterey for 2 days and one night. Going to go the aquarium. They are having their hardwood floors refinished and need to get out or live in 2 small rooms. Not easy for 7 people. So, gramma gets to go cuz they have to get 2 rooms anyway! I am sooo excited I haven't been down there in several years. Its kind of a birthday present I turned 57 on Sunday. Funny I don't feel any different LOL
So will check in when we get back.

Well, A "Belated, Happy Birthday" to you GARNET!!! Hope you had a WONDERFUL time in Monterey at the aquarium... sounds like a great couple days! I really enjoy aquarium's, we have a beautiful one here in Cleveland.
Good to hear that all went well for your dental exam... Joe & I go this coming Monday for our exams and cleaning. We go every 6 months.
Your Bible Study sounds so good... "Women of Excellence" - what a great name for the group. I know you will have a good time and learn much. I was going to a study, but it went to evenings... couldn't go anymore. So I am looking for a morning study group - think I found one on Wednesday's. But the weather has been so bad they aren't meeting right now. It was -1* this morning and we have well over 20" of snow here. Bone Chilling Cold!
Well, I have to get ready to go to Curves this morning... so I'll catch you later.
Again, :hb: "Happy Birthday!"

Wow, beat up on Michele day, huh Gary? ;) Player?! UH, HUH! If I were, i'd have them waiting in line, which i don't, which I never have......well, maybe, kinda, when I was in my 20's ;) And OK, OK, I NEED to exercise, I get it. It just kills me, i use to enjoy it when i was younger, i still do sometimes, but it gives me anxiety too. Something to work on i guess.
Nasha, Happy Belated Birthday! :balloons: and i hope you have a great time in Monterrey! That is where i honeymooned, right down the road from the aquarium. We stayed at a B&B on Cannery Row, it's so beautiful there. There's a fancy restaurant (or was) down the street from the aquarium, I think it was called Frogs or something? Is it still there?
Wow, am I busy at work! My boss the owner is giving me things to do left and right and I just love it! I'm working on streamling things in the office and putting things online. I'm busy creating spreadsheets for investment accounts, etc. It's really great cuz they already see that i can do certain things they've wanted for a long time. I feel confident in my abilities and purpose. And it's working out well with the one lady i thought would have a hard time. I've also helped her put together a computer system for her use and i've taught her how to do certain things online and she seems appreciative and nice. You know how the first week at a job usually is kind of icky......how nice this is to not be that way!
Getting my windshield replaced soon, i had a pit in it and the cold made it run so i have to get it changed and found out i have full glass coverage so it's nothing out of pocket. Thank God!
And my tub drained during the night! See, it doesn't take much to make me happy!

Not much going on here today. Angie and I are feeling better, me more so than her-- both of us back at work. Sunny I did another 31 minutes, 426 calories and 3.6 miles today on the elliptical, really want to do at least a half hour each day-- for as long as I can-- W/O quiting!! A half hour of exercise isn't much is it Michele? IS IT MICHELE  Not sure about the anxiety problem you have with exercise- in public I could understand, but at home is it a problem too?Glad the job is going well! Draining tubs are cool

Hi everyone! I've been fighting a cold and think I've won the battle. I feel alot better. I'm still struggling with my evening eating. My lunches are great but can't seem to get the carbs under control. I think I'll have to give them and sugar up completely again for a couple of days to get back on track. The thing is that when I eat greasy, starchy foods i feel sick so I should learn by now.
It sounds like everyone here is doing great. Welcome Garnet!!!
I better get going and get some rest. Didn't get much last night and need to do some catching up.

CHRISTIAN, so good to see you... I don't think you know me, but I remember your posts in the past. I will hold your father's girlfriend in my prayers for sure! I hope that you will come back and let us know how she is doing. People do recover from pneumonia with high white blood cell's (which indicate infection)... so have hope. I will lift you ~All~ up.
God Bless! (((Hugs)))
WILMA, it's so good to hear from you. Me too... I do well all day with watching what I eat and I exercise, but I am still munching on nuts in the evening. Nuts are good, but not at night! I wake up feeling like a water-balloon :o :balloons: That's what I said before too ~ wonder why when you feel so well, following your program, that you fall off and make yourself ill. I have done it time & time again... human behavior is odd, isn't it. Feel better soon and I will say a prayer that you will be back on track again real soon. So far so good for me... what I have been doing is making conscience decisions as each moment passes ~ is this what I really want to do. It works well for me - except at night in front of the TV! Then... ... I don't think I am aware of what I am doing, cuz I am not plugged into me I am plugged into the program :D Gotta work on that!
GARY, :cp: glad you are getting in your elliptical! I am going to do my later today. I went to Curves yesterday and will go again tomorrow. As far as the weather goes... well we DID get some SUN yesterday... Thank-you!!!! And this morning our temps were in the 30's (balmy ;) ), but they are dropping again now & the winds are picking up. We have a huge storm coming off Lake Erie and it's heading right for us. We are expecting about 6 - 8 more inches of snow by tomorrow morning. Some melted with the sunshine we had yesterday. We got a roof-leak in our hallway yesterday from the ice dam's on the roof! Joe had to go up there yesterday (came home early from work) and had to shovel it all off and break up the ice to stop the leaking. So far so good. Now I have this ugly stain about 4 - 5" in dia. on the ceiling. Have to get some stain-kill and repaint. You two keep getting better!!!! All these colds!

Hello all...
Feeling a bit down for Les. His mother passed away yesterday afternoon. She has been ill for a long time, he wasn't sure she would see Christmas. He called her everyday and this last week she was heavily medicated and couldn't talk much. She was in much pain. He's glad she's in heaven now, but it's still hard to lose her. So, please pray for Ava and her family please....
I had a bad night last night with my WOE. I went to Arby's for dinner (need i say more :^: But today's another day and i'm back on...

Hi GARY, I was just coming on to tell you about my workout when I saw MICHELE'S post... so very sad.
*******
http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/10/10_8_8.gif (this is as close as I could find to and elliptical  ) I just wanted to let you know that I got in my Elliptical workout a bit earlier then I planned. I did 22 minutes and got in 3 miles exactly :) I don't know why, but your calorie count is much higher then mine??? :?: I only burned 110 calories in the 22 minutes I was on. Do you think it's because I cranked my higher... mine is tighter as I am working, works you harder - I really feel it in my glutes and quads and some in my abs. Then as I cool down I make it lose to cool the muscles and catch my breathe. I am still working at reaching 30 minutes - not there yet!
Thanks for the encouragement... http://smileys.smileycentral.com/cat/4/4_1_204.gif

From reading all the posts since I last posted sounds like we are all on the right track - eating right and exercising.
I sure am feeling better now that I have been doing the 'no bread / no potatoe' thing. It has been 22 days now and I am pleased that I have been able to continue this long - I know see where I can do to it. I have had potatoes 1 time - boiled - and also have had some fries. Bread - 6 slices total in 22 days. I don't consider that I binged or 'went of program' as I consciously decided to eat them. When I look at my food record prior to January 1 I see that I would be eating potatoes every day - and much more than 1/2 cup portion size, and bread, well that is another story - most days it would be at least 4 but usually more like 6 or 8 by the time the day finished. So to have had what I have had in 22 days is good - I have shown to myself that I can control this problem - and I will continue to control it. I am now finding that I don't really want potatoes at all for supper. What I do have to still watch though is the fries - if I decided to have '2' I find I am reaching for '4' so I am having to work on that one.
I have increased my walking. When hubby and I go walking we go to the Rec Plex and I get in 1 mile, then we stop and have 'coffee - I have bottled water' with our walking friends for 1/2 hour. If hubby is really hungry and decides to eat at this time, I will have scrambled eggs and my water, nothing else. When we finish, then we stop back at the Rec Plex and do another mile walk before going home. This helps because we don't have to come back in the afternoon. This way I get in 2 miles each time hubby is home from work in the morning. Today he told me that in order to help me with my walking we will be 'increasing it' somewhat. What he wants us to do is on days when he is home in the morning to do as mentioned above. Then when there is a day missed because of him being away to work, when he returns we will walk as mentioned above in the morning, then in the afternoon at 2 pm we will return to the Rec Plex for 1 more mile so on those days I will get in 3 miles - just giving a bit of a boost for the day missed. And of course I am using my treadmill and doing weight toning. I am not recording the treadmill or toning but am putting in 1/2 - 1 hour a day on the treadmill and every other day doing 1/2 hour with the weights. For my walking now that I have hit 700 miles my total for 2004 I would like to have reached 1,000 which is very doable. Breaking it down, I am now working on reaching 800 miles hopefully by the beginning of April.
Well, lots of things to get done around here - need to get the roast in the oven for supper, get lunch on for the kids, clothes to be washed, bathrooms to be cleaned, living room to be vacuumed. So better run

Hi ! I just finished catching up again, seems like I have been gone forever. I have been working really weird hours and again with my computer at my neighbor's- (I don't have a phone, or cable) She is like my mom so it works out well, anyway her son and dil and 2 kids are still there, they should be moving into their new house in a couple weeks, Her son works swing shifts so sleeping alot during day, (My computer in their bedroom) as is normally spare bedroom But limited access lately.
E.Z- Thanks for trying to send the sun, but we have had record lows the last week and a half, down to 50 below in some parts (win d chill anyway, burr) But the days are getting longer, so we are getting closer Great job, competing with sunny on elliptical machine.
Sunny- So sorry to hear your friend passed away, but you are right, He is in a better, brighter place. Great job on the exercise!
Mitchy- Wow woman down 11 pounds way to go! I chose red, as E.Z. said you were a player, I thought it would be flashier ha ha ha
Sprout- Hi there big congrats to you too! on all that walking and exercise, and loosing as well, how exciting new clothes!

I was afraid it was getting too long, and I would lose it. My pastor got a clean bill of health from his pet scan, and he has been removed from all chemotherapy, He gets rescanned in 3 months, and they will see if it starts again, but the doctors at dartmouth/hitchcock, were just amazed. They said, to him, well "you" have extra help meaning because he is a pastor, he is given special consideration by God. He said to them yes, I do have help but you could have it too! So, they at least believe the Lord intervened, but think it was because he was a pastor, he has gotten the opportunity to witness a lot while this has transpired. He is still at extreme high risk of reoccurance. I would appreciate your praying for him still. Thanks I have started writing to soldiers that need encouragement, that recieve no mail or packages, I got a list off their names and have started mailing cards and challenging others to as well. So, they at least recieve mail. Just one more thing on my laundry list to do. :dizzy:  I hope to pop in tom. or definitely this weekend to see whats up remember your in my prayers.
God Bless!

Hello I am so sorry I have been gone so long where has the time gone? I am still not feeling well. The cold weather has been really hard on me. I am going to see a fibromyalgia speicalist after our insurance changes in March so please pray that this dr is able to help me. Enough about me! Sunny and sorry about your friends passing I know it is hard to say goodbye but it is eaiser when you know they are in heaven. And Mitchypoo I am praying for Les even when we know they are better off it is hard to lose a parent! I read your post and I wonder if you might have fibromyalgia also. I know for me I feel like I have been hit by a truck most days. And no matter what I do or the meds I take it really doesn't help. It is hard to have pain every single day of your life. (some days the pain is only a 5 that is the good days) A big welcome to Garnet and Christian. I love this group they keep me going. Sue we have missed you. When is your trip? Ez I am glad you and your wife are doing well. I wish I could work out that hard but if I did I be in the hospital! Sprout You are my hero you are doing so well! Keep up the good work! Wilma I will keep you in my prayers I know at night it is harder at night. You are being lifted in prayers. Well I better go I just got a call.

LOOKS LIKE RERUNS ON CSI AND ER TONIGHT....ARGHHHH..... [B]ANGIE SAID " AHH GEE-- now I have to get up at 5am to exercise in the morning". She usually takes friday mornings off since she stays up late to watch ER.
Well all is fair here. I have a physical on Monday, did blood work this week, and the nurse called to tell me good news on that-- my cholesterol is down to 171 HDL 58 and LDL 94-- not great numbers but 2 years ago I was at 271 with LDL at 189-- last year overall it was 216. Mine is hereditary so my diet doesn't lower it enough (HA! LIKE IT WOULD!) so Lipitor seems to be doing the work. If the rest comes out as well I'll be good for another 50-- - haven't made the first 50 yet-- but closing fast!!
doitformeSUE Good to hear from you-- wish you could get that computer in your place. Still trying to get down to size for "OUR" trip-- how big is that suitcase anyways? GREAT news on your pastor-- he is in good hands that is for sure!! I think that is so super what you are doing for our troops-- WE NEED MORE PEOPLE LIKE YOU!!! PEOPLE THAT DO SOMETHING- RATHER THAN SIT AROUND AND COMPLAIN!! I don't think anyone wants this war-- but with people like you and ANGEL praying and doing things the boys/girls will be blessed through that.
SAMI Man I am so sorry you still are not feeling well :( -- :grouphug: I have never lived where it is so cold-- I don't think I would like it. I know when it gets cold here- in the low 50's- HEY stop    I have a hard time getting going-- can't even imagine what some of you gals do-- some say you get used to it-- but I dunno! I am praying that in March you see a specialist that really answers prayers for you. It must be so hard to deal with the pain, then have to work and have all those kids to look after. PRAYERS!!
WILMA- Glad to hear you are a little better at least. Try to get healthy snacks for just 2 weeks for the evening-- maybe you will aquire a taste for that instead. How did the bathroom lessons go! Happy to hear your lunches are good. Catch up here when you can-- how is CURVES?
SPROUT Sure is good to hear your husband going with you. Supporting each other is a great way to succeed!
MICHELE Prayers for Les and his family-- so sorry to hear that. We have an Arbys in our town but to be honest I have not been there since Angie and I have been together, about 9 years-- it is on the other side of town and a hassle to get to, I like it there though! Good food! Had a salad at Jack-IN-Box with my cousin today-- still put on the almonds, croutons and all the dressing! Have fun at work!
SUNNYD Hey dear- I did 31 minutes (30 and a 1 minute cool down) 3.5 miles and 430 calories today-- I tightened it up 2 notches so it was a little harder-- I wouldn't worry at all on what they say for lost calories-- I don't think they are too accurate-- I remember when I used to go to the gym-- the treadmill for 45 minutes said one thing on burned cals, then I would go to the bike for 45 minutes-easier-- and it would read a lot more burned-- then I would go to the stairmaster they had for "15" minutes and it would be twice what the other 1 and a half hours combined read. Bottom line-- you KNOW if you are burning them-- if you are feeling the work the next day in your legs like that-- IT'S WORKING!!! KEEP IT UP!! increase when you can. I read that you will burn off the same amount of calories when you go a mile-- no matter how fast you do it, walking, jogging or running-- it is the distance, not the time. Although if you walk it could be 15 minutes or more vs. 8 or so minutes if you run- so if you JOG for 30 minutes you will burn more than WALKING for 30 minutes-- but if you just go a mile and stop-- burned cals are the same-- HECK you know that! Did you use KILZ on your water damage? Watch out for mold-- sometimes spraying bleach (KEEP EYES PROTECTED!!) will kill any mold from water damage-- if Joe can get above the ceiling and spray it (crawl space?).
Well I hope all is well for your families, off to my recliner.....
Well Hello SUE! Always good to see you back! I too cannot wait till you can have your own computer space and check in with us more. I bet you just cannot wait to go on that trip in June & July! I have heard that those cruises are fantastic! Speaking of fantastic... so great to hear about your pastor! He'll stay in my prayers for continued good health.
Come back again soon :)
Awwe SAMI, I hope you begin to feel better real soon, my heart really goes out to you! You deserve a break from illness & pain! You are in my thoughts and continued prayers!!!
Hey there GARY, Good news on your cholesterol! 58 is a great number for HDL! Do you know what mine is?!? It's 80! Yep, 80!! The Dr. was joking around with me and told me it wasn't fair that I had such a high - good number for HDL & he had to work so hard to keep his good numbers. It must be the nuts I eat or just in my blood... who knows. My hubby's is 55, so he has good HDL also. For men ~ 60 is REAL GOOD! So you are doing wonderfully! Men have lower numbers then women and it's normal.
Thanks for making me feel better about the calorie counts on the machines... I do know they vary, but it seemed like allot of difference. I am a little bit peeved  that as I workout I seem to gain allot of weight! I went from 204 (& dropping) to 207 this morning!!!!! I am still watching my diet and exercising more then ever! Why do I gain so much and feel so bloated in my clothes! I hope it goes away real soon. It's probably my muscles swelling, huh... I just haveta give it time. Thanks Gary!
Tell ANGIE, I was bummed over all the reruns too! Seems that's all we get these days! Reruns! I remember a time that during the winter months we always had new shows & then in the summer when people were outdoors more they would play reruns... now it's "all the time!"
Yes, KILZ is what Joe said he will use before we paint the ceiling... thanks for the bleach note. We will do that... we don't have a crawl-space in our Manufactured Home, but we are able to spray the bleach on the stains to prevent the mold. I am highly sensitive to molds!
*******
Well, we didn't get anywhere's near 6-8 inches of snow - only about 2", but boy-o-boy is it ever COLD!!!! Right now it is only 4* and we have a windchill of -10 to -12*... I am not going out to do Curves this morning! I will just do my elliptical again. So many ladies are going to Curves ILL! What's up with that?! Don't they care that they will spread their germs onto you from the machines? I suppose it could happen anytime, but right now it seems to be very bad. I wonder if they wipe the machines down? I am going to ask when I go back in next.
I'm off to get some breakfast & then go do my workout for today... I'll check in again later.
Thinking of your MICHELE :) - hope you are doing better today!
PS>>> You guys... I was just trying to send off my post and lost it all! I am so glad that I had the whole letter on my e-mail (as if I were writing a letter)... & all I had to do was highlight the post, right click -copy- and then right click -paste- onto here and I had the whole post back... no bumming out here ;)

http://soback.kornet.net/~pixeline/heeyun/clipart/doll.gifHi everybody....I'm so sorry I've been gone so long. I've had a lot going on...plus, this pc is driving me crazy! :^:
Gina & kids left this morning for Fort Sills, Ok to prepare for Chris to arrive from Iraq! He's due the 26th of February. I hope & pray he gets out of there safely...I worry so much. Trina, DH & 2 of their daughters went to help her over the weekend. Help me pray for all of them. It's been a very long year.
Gina & I had a day out together Tuesday, & really enjoyed it. Had our nails done, ate, & shopped, then ate, & shopped. Tried fried ice cream for the first time. DELICIOUS! :p I'll miss them terribly...but, rather they all be together. Chris gets out of the army Aug or Sept & they will return home. :cp:
I've missed too much to try to catch up...but, I have been reading all the posts...praying for all...just been in a rush.
I'll be back. Know that I love & care for all of you. You've helped me get through a lot! Have a great day.http://soback.kornet.net/~pixeline/heeyun/clipart/cross.gif

Thanks for all the warm welcomes back guys
Dads girlfriend has been sudated this morning and her oxygen changed, we are not sure that this is good news but we are believing that it will be what is needed for her to recover ;) I will keep you all posted...and hope to share a praise report very soon
Well, Hello CHRISTIAN... So good to see you again. And it sounds as if your DF's girlfriend is well on her way to recovery. I will continue to hold you all in my thoughts and prayers.
GARY, Here is a link of my elliptical machine that Joe & I got last Christmas: http://www.bodytrends.com/orbitrek.htm
It's not as nice as my SIL's machine that is way larger and smoother & cost about $2,300.00 more then mine, but we had to keep it small with the space we have and still get a good machine. I like it, just wondered what you thought...
Hi ANGEL, Good to see you posting here again, we missed you! I am glad to hear that you had such a good day with your DD before she left. She and the GK's will be back before you know it, you'll see. I think it's great that her DH will be back in the U.S. and reunited with his family again. In the meantime, you make sure you take some time to recover from the past few weeks of running around for your station... sounded like you could use a bit of time for yourself! Take Care now...

I just popped in to say hi !E.Z. Thanks! It is really pretty easy to write a little notecard saying thanks! By the way Sami might join us! ;) Especially since I have a BIG suitcase, and could probably fit ya all in, we'd just have to buy clothes when we got there! No big deal! T
Sunny- Thanks for keeping pastor in your prayers! I greatly appreciate it.Like E.Z. said your the computer wiz, not I. I am sure it was nice not to have to start over, that can be so fustrating.
Angel- glad to hear the family is going to get to be together soon, will continue to pray for safety. You need to take care of ypu as well, don't forget.
Christian- glad to hear your dad's girlfriend is doing o.k.Pray for continued health and healing

Hello all! Happy Saturday
My tub is not draining again :( Yesterday a.m. there was no cold water so I couldn't take a shower, last night there was cold so I took a nice bath. But it won't drain now....ARGGHH, it's frustrating. Hopefully it'll get warmer cuz we're suppose to get 6-8 inches of snow by Monday.
Les made it to Alabama for his mother's funeral, his daughter and x-wife are driving from TX today. I haven't talked to him yet, I just can't get him off my mind.
Does anyone watch Starting Over? I love this show. I think it's great for women, i'd like to be on there. But i'd have to take my Simba with me.
I'm at work this a.m. I must go...;) Have a wonderful weekend all!

Good Morning all,
Well, our 2 days in Monterey was beautiful. We got to our hotel around noon and got all checked in and had lunch and then off to the aquarium. The lady in the office said its a nice walk to get down there. So off we go, 2 strollers, 5 kids, 3 adults. Now I have not yet started exercising or walking. But I thought ok here goes. Well our nice walk turned out to be almost 2 miles! whew!! But it was so neat you can see so much more walking than whizzing by in the car. There was a bike/ walk, jog, path we followed. Right along the shore (Monterey Bay). there were a couple places where the kids could walk along the water and see the seals on the rocks they were in heaven. I did ok after what we thought was a good piece there was a sign 1.2 miles to aquarium. I am like oh tell me I didn't read that right LOL My son says hmm you can do it mom. And I made it my hip was a little sore, but the rest of did quite well. Then we had 4 hours at the aquarium. What a blast it had been years since I was there and dil had never gone. Wonderful time!
I did pretty well with my woe and managed to maintain my overall loss of the week.
I will write more later still looking forward to getting to know you all a bit better.

It's been a busy Saturday already. I went shopping this a.m. and am now in the middle of doing some baking for the week. Supper plans are chicken tortilla bake. New recipe that I'm excited to try.
Garnet: You did so great on your weekend. Now you know you can do it!!
Sprout: It sounds like you're well on your way. Carbs are my biggest problem. That and sugar. I know I need to cut back on both. I feel so much better when I do.
doitforme: Have a wonderful trip!! I'm also glad to see that prayers for your pastor are being answered.
Sami: I sure hope you're feeling better soon. It sure can't be fun being in pain all the time. Praying for you.
Gary: Wow! Great job on bringing the cholestrol down even with medication. I have a bit of a problem with trigylcerides. I get my blood test results back soon so will find out if my working out helped at all. I was under the weather last weekend so DS had to wait for his bathroom training until today. He did really well. We hope that now he'll do it on his own. His girlfriend is coming over tomorrow and he plans to clean up the basement too. I love those girlfriends.!!
Sunny: I LOVED the pics of the cats in bikinis. I sent it to a friend who thought it was a hoot!! Thanks! I missed Curves twice this week because of headache and also a storm. We have at least 2 feet of snow in our yard with banks on the sides of street going up to approx. 5 feet. It makes visibility hard. It's also miserably cold here right now. This morning it was minus 36C when I got up. You only go out if you have to. Thank God for my warm house.
Angel-lover: Come visit when you can. We miss you when you're not here.
Christian: Good to have you back. Prayers for your dad's girlfriend.
Michele: You've been doing amazing with your WOE. WAY TO GO!! I need to get off my butt and get going too.
Well, the biscotti is almost done and then it's using up ripe bananas in muffins for the guys' lunches. I am waaayyy to good to them.
Have a wonderful day!

http://www.wholesalecountrygiftware.com/images/Graphic_free_1_THANKFRMABOVE.gifHi everybody! Hope all are well...& keeping warm!
http://www.freefever.com/graphics/gif1902/welco.gifto Garnet5! Don't think I had a chance to say that before. Glad to have you with us. Your trip to Monteray sounds great. I sure could use a trip about now. Maybe, we can go somewhere for our anniversary in June.
Mitchypoo...what part of Alabama did Les go? I'm in Russellville. South of Huntsville...about 1hr. Hope the next few days are peaceful for him. I'm praying. What is going on with Tom? I've gotten behind.
doitforme...are you going to Alaska to visit relatives? If so....remember, I'm your sister in the Lord! ;) So, maybe I need to visit our relatives, also! :D
I AM taking care of myself today. Finally came to my limit (Remicade may be wearing off :( ) I haven't done much of anything today. Never miss a Saturday going into town...did today, though. Just lazing around. Feels good..almost forgot what it was like!
http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Welcome.gifChristian! I remember you...often wondered what happened to you. Praying for your need.
Hi SunnyD...did you get enough snow to make snowangels??? If so, make one & take a pic for me....it'll be the closest I'll probably get this year. http://www.freefever.com/graphics/gif1902/cart046.gif
Hi Sami...hope you're feeling better. I wonder about Fibromalgia, too. My Neurologist said the Remicade treatments would help if I had it. I told him he never mentioned that to me before. He said he'd checked me for so many things, that when they discovered the RA, he knew if I did have it, (which I probably do) that the Remicade would be the best help. It's almost $3,000 a treatment, though....so, if you don't have VERY good ins or Medicare, like I do...it's impossible to get it. (& for any one wondering...no, I'm not old enough for Medicare, normally :D ...I'm on disability ;) ) Tell Angel hello for me. I've got some new angels to show her....here's one... http://www.thingsfromheaven.com/clipart/angels/angel12.gif
Sprout...sounds like you're feeling better these days...I hope so.
Gary...Hope everything is going well with you & your family.
Gonna go...everyone have a good Saturday evening & enjoy church tomorrow.http://www.amroriginals.com/freebies/kiddiequotes/unknown_1.gif

HI EVERYONE-- NOT TOO MUCH TIME TO POST-- JUST GOT HOME FROM AN ALL DAY TENNIS TOURNAMENT A COUPLE OF HOURS AWAY-- MY DAUGHTER DID WELL, WON HER SINGLES AND DOUBLES YESTERDAY, LOST SINGLES TODAY IN A MATCH THAT WENT 3 SETS AND WON 2 DOUBLES SETS TO WIN DOUBLES AND A TROPHY FOR HER DIVISION. TIRED, JUST WANTED TO CHECK IN AND SEE HOW YOU ALL WERE- PRAYERS. OH SUNNY- GO TO WWW.VISIONFITNESS.COM CLICK ON ELLIPTICAL TRAINERS, THE ONE ANGIE AND I HAVE IS THE FIRST ONE, THE X6000-- IT COST US $1,300.00 TAXES AND SET-UP, I ALSO SET MY DEGREE OF DIFICULTY HIGHER AND THE READING WAS ALMOST THE SAME-- I THINK THEY JUST WORK THE CALORIES ON THE REPS THE MACHINE MAKES-- HOWEVER, IF YOU ARE GOING AT A MORE DIFFICULT PACE AND GOING THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME YOU WILL BURN MORE CALORIES-- YOU CAN JUST FEEL THE WORK-OUT IS MORE!
Just checking in... Joe and I had such a nice evening with our friends, Mike & Peg. We went to the Roadhouse Res. for steak dinners :hun: yummy! When we got back here - we played a game called 'Uno Attack' - fun! It always feels good to go with them. Yesterday I spent most the day cleaning, washing blankets and alike. Joe went to sing in Cleveland for a ceremony from 8:30 till around 1:00 is when he got home. So I spent most my morning (off & on) chatting with the South Beach Ladies :) I don't usually get to on the weekends, so it was fun to do. Boy, did I learn allot! I also found an article with an interview with the Dr. that wrote the SBD and posted that for them... got a great response from everyone. So I did allot yesterday! Got my house all cleaned and ready for company and had some time to chat on the cp.
Today we'll begin the day with a Cup 'O Coffee, breakfast; then we'll go to church (Don't forget to go and Thank the Lord for such a beautiful Life ;) ) After church we'll probably come home to relax with the Sunday paper. We are in for another big storm!
Here's the report I got this morning on my Weather-Bug:
WINTER STORM WATCH REMAIN IN EFFECT FOR TONIGHT AND MONDAY...
SNOW WILL DEVELOP THIS EVENING AND CONTINUE OVERNIGHT. SNOW ACCUMULATIONS OF 3 TO 6 INCHES ARE POSSIBLE. MONDAY THE SNOW COULD MIX WITH OR CHANGE TO SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ACROSS MUCH OF THE AREA.
RESIDENTS OF NORTHEAST OHIO AND NORTHWEST PENNSYLVANIA SHOULD MONITOR THE FORECAST AND BE ALERT FOR POSSIBLE WINTER STORM WARNINGS.
So... ... ... I guess winter isn't over with us yet.
Have a Joy-filled Sunday Everyone!!!
Much Love,
:sunny: SunnyD

Oh... ... By-the-way, MICHELE, ;) Joe is off again tomorrow - we are going for dental cleaning (we'll have nice bright smiles :D again ) in the morning; then we'll coming home. We don't want to be travelling in the predicted storm. Maybe, just maybe, I will get a moment to come in and touch base with you all tomorrow... we'll see. Sure hope you can get your pipes thawed! Allot of people in Maine are having pipe problems from the extreme cold. Is it from the cold? Or just plugged drains from hair build-up. I know I get that and have to clean out the drain a couple time a month. Anyway, "Luck"
Hi ANGEL! I see your got your graphics back :D Good to see you again. Yep, got plenty to make snow angel... but I haven't done it - YET - if and when I do I will get a picture for you
WILMA, Hey there! I bet you guys are up to your necks in cold and snow - I am just barely dealing with what we are getting here - never mind yours! :o I saw on the weather channel that you all went to -20* double-buuurrrrr! You can keep it :D Glad you enjoyed the picture of the 'Bikini-Kitties' - just too funny, huh!
GARY, Saw your machine - so nice! I bet it's real smooth too. I didn't do mine on Friday as I planned. Can't remember what happened to take me away... but I think I needed a rest. I have been having some cramping in my back muscles near my kidney area (I know it's muscle - no worries). I am feeling much better this morning... just think I pushed a bit too hard. But I love the fact that you encourage me to go further! Thanks coach!
GARNET, So happy to hear that you had such a good time on your trip! :cp: you did it! Walked all that ways... you should be proud and now that you know you can do it, you can look at it as the beginning of future walks ;) It is so good for you! Ask SPROUT! She knows about walking!

Hello I hope everyone is doing well. I have a cold on top of everything else that started in my head and now is in my chest. Were expecting really bad weather today I hope the weather man is wrong this time.
Sunny I am going to learn how to post pictures! I got a book on digital scrapbooking and it looks neat! Now that you are done cleaning your house come to mine I could use some help!
Angellover thank you for the ANGELS. I hope this new Dr can give me some relief. I have pretty good ins now but starting in March 1st I will have great ins. It will cost me a lot more but I think in the long run it will be worth it.
Garnet Your trip sounds like a lot of fun! What are the ages of your kids and grandkids?
Ez do a half hour workout for me! I think you spread your cold clear to Indy! LOL
Michele How is Les doing? Are you buying the place your in? If not I would tell the landlord they have to fix the problem. We had drain problems a couple weeks ago (I have never had to call a plummer in the 23 yrs I been married) And I was supprised how quick they came out and it really didn't cost that much to fix.
Wilma how is the night eating going? I just realized how much diet coke I drink! This week I drank water (because of my kidney infection) at work but when I got home I was craving diet coke!!!!!!
Sue I am tempted to take you up on ideal of being a stowaway! I bet it will be so pretty!!! What kind of sight seeing are you going to do? My one friend took a boat trip to see the samon. You will have to take lots of pic to share.
Christian how is your Dads GF doing? Will keep her in our prayers for a fast recovery.
Sprout how is the walking going? How is your Son doing? Did you say your DH is walking with you? When do you go back to the Dr if I remember right it should be coming up soon.
Got the pictures SAMI, Just Beautiful!!!!

SAMI, I really enjoyed looking at your Wedding pictures! Your daughter is Beautiful as are YOU! She & her new hubby make a beautiful looking couple too! Love her dress with the lace! And the dresses of the wedding party... the color is striking. Thank you so much for sharing them with us!!!
That is exciting that you will learn how to scrapbook with the cp... you will love it - it's allot of fun! I did it for Joe's 50th Birthday.
http://users.bigpond.com/cutecolorz/20012/setchores/ccchores1.gif Sure! I'll come over to lend you a hand cleaning house... I use to do that... I cleaned for many years till it caught up with my back. But that's all I did growing up, whenever we moved, us kids (in my family growing up) all chipped in with the cleaning - and we moved allot! Base housing had to be perfectly clean and inspected by the military. We never failed... guess it stayed with me. Although, I must say that I am not as meticulous as I use to be - have dusty shelves now I have let go :o
Again, Thanks for sharing your pictures...
it is great to finally see what you look like :)

HI GALS
Not a lot of time at the moment-- just checking in while Angie is at Home Depot picking up some gazanias (???? on the spelling) for our bank. Her and Ron are going to plant them today, I dug up some other plants in the back yard for her, after church this morning, she is planting more and more rose bushes too-- .....she just got home and says "I got SOME MORE ROSES too!"-- that is about 15 new plants in the last 2 weeks-- said they were on sale for $3.25 each, bare root. She is mad 'cause she just spent $15 each on the same colors at other places in the last few weeks, although they weren't bare root. She just told me to say African Dasiys when I asked her how to spell gazanias.
SAMI-- LOVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! the pictures!! Your family looks GREAT!!!!
gotta go--
STAY WARM ALL OF YOU--- it's in the high 60's here today and a little sun too... but it did rain yesterday and this morning... so I guess it isn't PERFECT here after all
Sami....you're beautiful!! So is your daughter! Was Angel in the pics? I'm afraid to pick...might be wrong...but, thought she might be the little blonde...she looks to be 7yrs old. Then again, the other looks like an angel, also. Only looks older than 7yrs old. They are both adorable! I just love weddings!
Gary...glad you enjoyed the tennis tournament with your daughter. She sounds like some kind of player!
SunnyD...thanks for helping Sami with the pics...enjoyed them so much!
I really don't know what you all are talking about with scrapbooking. I guess this is something new for me to learn! Sounds like fun.
Yes, I finally got my graphics fixed. I sent a 3rd or 4th email thanking them (ones I bought my little graphic thing from) for trying so hard to help me. Told them I thought it wasn't going to work. That there was no hard feelings, & I had enjoyed using it. They emailed me back that we were NOT going to give up! Sent me a new download with an upgrade better than the one I had! It worked great! I emailed a thank-you back...must have impressed them. They asked permission to use my email as advertisement for their product (not publishing my address, of course). I thought them it was fine. Gonna be popular, yet!
Gotta go get ready for evening service. Finally stopped raining here, & the sun is beautiful. Hope all have a good evening.

FINISHED MY WORK-OUT :strong: :tread:
Hi everyone-- Just finished my work-out on the elliptical-- another 32 minutes and 3.5 miles gone along with 426 (?) calories-- one can never trust the calorie count, doesn't matter. Just keep moving forward!!
In case you don't know SUNNYD and I are in a contest to see how many days we can KEEP DOING THE ELLIPTICAL without classifying ourselves as LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOSERS :D Right Donna?
ANGEL Great job on being noticed for your computer work :cp: Yes, I did enjoy the tennis tournament yesterday with my daughter's college team-- I get along with all of them real well--they are pretty cool-- they like me too 'cause I am always bringing them snacks! Some healthy ones too! From time to time. My ex-wife stopped by and picked me up. she usually rides with me, if she is going, unless it is at our daughter's school which is only 45 minutes from our houses-- that is on Saturday mornings-- otherwise could be 2 hours-- regardless it is only 40 miles from our house. The team has most of their matches at their campus, other schools travel to her campus because it is in sunny San Diego California and is on the beach! Looking at her schedule I see 14 home matches and 9 away-- we play everyone in our league twice, once at our place and once at theirs, so that accounts for 6 of the away matches.
SAMI You have such a beautiful family! You sure made the right choice on that dress! Just like you said!! I sure do hope that the new DR. can get you going towards GREATER health! It hurts us all to see you in such pain and discomfort. Angie has never done srapbook with the computer, but she sure loves doing the Creative Memories ones-- she has one for all the kids for high school and their sports. You are going to be amazing with that camera when you figure it out!!
SUNNYD Angie always had to clean the house, with her sisters and brother, growing up-- EVERY SATURDAY morning NO MATTER WHAT!! She doesn't have pleasent memories from it--but she sure knows how to clean a house!! But- AGAIN- our house is usually pretty straight, but not always CLEANED and DUSTED perfect, depending on schedules with the kids-- EXCEPT the bathroom-- that never gets by her- EVER!! We have a Roadhouse here too, is it the same chain I wonder-- where you have tables/floors full of peanut shells? Love the food there!
WILMA Hey- whatever works with that bathroom and the boys!! Girlfriends can be a good influence :D Angie makes biscotti too-- an Italian thing for her, every Christmas. That tortilla chicken bake sounds good. I am making a pot of vegetable beef soup as we speak, for dinner, with rolls. Angie was in the yard all day planting and she made dinner last night-- the least I could do! Never tried this recipe before but it is easy. I hope it warms up for you soon! Remember-- PLANNING-- is the key for you and YOUR eating!! You do so much better when YOU don't wing it!! HUGS.
SUE Are ya at work making that extra money for our trip? I guess Sami is going with us too--cool! How was the church bulletin this wek? were you in charge? My wife and I had a chat with a mother of one of the girls on our daughter's tennis team yesterday-- our daughter attends a Christian college-- anyway she is a christian and was telling us about a fundraiser using those old fashioned flamingos-- pretty cool- you just sneak them on people yards-- someone pays you to do it- then you remove and attack another home the next night! Maybe you could do that to raise $$$$ for OUR trip
MICHELE I hope all is better for Les and his family. How are you doing? Are your drains being nice to you today? I saw that Starting Over show once- about half of it- looked interesting.
SPROUT Keep walking!!! Hope all is well.
Well Hi to Garnet and Christian
Out for the evening- Take Care, Gary

Hello all!
Sami~loved the pics of you and the family! Very beautiful, all of you! Love that color...
Gary & Sunny~Way to go, it's great to have some friendly cometition. I'd join you if i had an elliptical....see...another reason not to exercise. ;)
My drains are cleared and whoever asked, no i'm not buying the house and i could call the landlord who is my cousin but i like to fix it myself if i can.
Thank you for asking about Les, I hadn't heard from him all weekend, but i've just now talked to him. He had a difficult weekend, said the services were awful, they had a step-in minister and he didn't know them or their name and he mumbled, they were all upset, his daughter came all the way from Tx for 12 hours, didn't even go to the funeral, just the viewing. He's angry w/the ex about that. And now he's stuck in a hotel in Chattanooga, can't get a flight to NC because of the weather......poor guy. :( He says he's having a hard time dealing with anger right now...
And maybe Gary is right.......maybe i'm a player....i had a date last night. I'm conflicted because of Les but Les is also not talking about the future and us so i don't know what to think. I've met this guy named Charlie and we had a wonderful date last night. Took me to a nice dinner at the Macaroni Grill and we went to the movies.
More later, have to go.

hey folks,
Well, it was a rough week end. On Friday my DD was told she was going to lose her job. She is devastated. The reasons given don't make sense, llast night she just started crying at the thouoght of having to go back there for another month. She is 36 and really enjoyed her job. Please be in prayer for her. Mom wants to go down and TALK to the lady but DD forbids it. So lets send the Holy Spirit! Also I told her to go ahead and call in so she can start doing job search. So the lady called this morning and said she is sending her a check don't bother to come back. So she is out at Employment Department looking Pray that she can find something soon so that we won't have to move from this place we just moved into in August.
Thanks for your prayers I will keep youall posted.

Hi All! It's still freezing here and the snow keeps coming down. I'm trying to keep warm. Does shivering burn calories??
I went to Curves this morning and decided I had to face the music about my weight. It turned out that I had only gained 1 lb. over Christmas but had lost another inch of my waist and belly. That's a total of 9 inches gone. I couldn't believe it. I was told that doing weights would increase my metablism but I didn't expect this. PRAISE GOD! This has given me renewed energy to keep going.
Garnet: I'm so sorry for your daughter. Remember that when a door closes a window opens. I hope she finds a new job that she loves.
Michele: I'll keep Les in my prayers. It's hard enough to deal with losing someone without extra stress added to it.
Christian: I'm so glad she's responding to the antibiotics. PTL!!
Gary: Sounds like you're just putting on the miles. Pretty soon you'll be out joining Angie on a regular basis. Way to go! Send some warm air up here okay? I'm freezing up here.
Sami: What a lovely family!! You're quite a knockout yourself. It's nice to put a face to the name. Thanks for sharing them with us.
A big hello to Sunny and Angel and those I've missed.
Good Night!

HI EVERYONE
Have dinner ready and waiting for Angie to get home from yoga. I made burritos for dinner, not that healthy but not that bad either.
Went to the doctors today for my yearly physical-- pretty good news-- he said the results from all the lab work was great, I knew some of the results already. I had a lump in my groin, my daughter and Angie said it was a hernia, I have had it for 4 months (how do you spell DENIAL???) (even saw my doctor for a quick referal for this legal guardianship case for my nephew during this time- didn't mention it) anyway the girls were right, it is a hernia-- my doc wants me to look up a surgeon in the building soon.
I did 5 miles, 46 minutes and 615 calories (?) burned on the elliptical today SUNNYD top that!! Nah, just do the best you can-- just figure if you are going 20 min. now add 1 minute for a week, then another, then another after a week and so on-- by the end of the year you will be "OWNING" that machine. Hope you and Joe have sparkling teeth, and a great day together.
WILMA I am so mad  I sent sunshine with FED-EX yesterday, that's it from now on it's UPS  Great job GOING back to Curves-- it is a lifestyle change remember, just keep going forward-ALWAYS! even when ya go backwards a little-- NO BIG DEAL!!
GARNET Sorry about your daughter's predicament, all will work out-- is she a christian too? Prayers.
CHRISTIAN Good news on your pops girlfriend.
MICHELE So you are a player huh? That is HOT! We had my step-daughter's 16th birthday last month at Macaroni Grill-- I like it, but to be honest Angie and I have a couple Italian places here- mom and pop- that are much better-- not complaining about Macaroni Grill. Sorry about the bad memories Les has from the funeral-- maybe his daughter just didn't feel comfortable at the funeral after seeing her grandma at the viewing-- everyone reacts different to death.
Well Hi to Angel, SunnyD, Sami and Sue (sorry if I missed anyone!) GOTTA GO!! THE :drill: IS HOME AND IS STARVING AFTER HER YOGA
It's been a long day for me. Monday's are always long...my program comes on at 6pm, so don't get home til around 7pm. Woke up with a terrible headache...while taking a shower my nose went to bleeding pretty bad! I guess it was blood pressure headache. I kept it all day. Just now easing up. I'm on blood pressure meds. It did the same way the other day while driving to work...just started bleeding. Anyway....made it through the day...got Connie (assist manager &friend) to sing a couple of songs to give me a break...& made it through.
Garnet....I'm soooo sorry about your daughter's job. It's so sad when things like that happen to our children. We feel so helpless, as parents. She's right though...it was something she needed to work through. It's very dangerous for them to harm one of His "little ones". Wouldn't want to be in their shoes! I'm praying the Lord gives her a job worth a lot more than she lost! Tell her to look ahead...don't look behind her. Wipe their dust from her feet...& keep walking. If that's the kind of employee they are, she didn't need to be there! Sorry....guess I got stirred up too! :^:
Gary...sounds like you're very involved in your daughter's sports! In fact, I've noticed what a good example you & Angie are with all that you're involved with. There are fortunate young people in your lives!
We miss the days our son played sports, & daughter was "flag girl"! Tiring, but, fun. Our grands are into sports now....we're lucky though, if we're able to "drag" to a game to watch! We do try though...& asked about them & how it's going. Especially the ones living away. WE try to go at least once a yr & watch a game. Makes them feel special to know we went all that way just to watch! My grandson made a home run for me last summer! Jumped up & down hollering...that's for you, mamaw!! Wouldn't think he would do that at 14...but, he did! :D
Christian...so glad to hear your dad's girlfriend is responding. I'll keep praying.
Michelle...It's ok...you need to know several guys. Don't commit to just one until you are very sure you want to do that. Sometimes you think you know someone...then later find you really didn't. Good luck. Keep us posted.
Wilma...it's cold here, too. It was such a beautiful day...you would think it is summer time! Then, tonight, suppose to be very, very cold. Sleet, ice, etc. :o
SunnyD...when I was growing up, Saturday was our house cleaning day. Our mother was VERY clean! May be why we're not quite that clean. She would have us even wash walls on Saturdays!! Yes....walls! Just like painting them...from top to bottom. There was times we lived in very nice houses...then after my dad's health got bad, & he couldn't work, we lived in not-so-nice houses. But, didn't matter....walls got washed in both! :dizzy: So you can imagine how we had to scrub the rest of the house! Kids at school looked forward to weekends. NOT US!! :^:
Hi Sami...you rested from that wedding yet? You were so beautiful!
Hello to anyone I may have missed...forgive me....old & forgetful.... ;)
Hope all have a good evening....& Tuesday.http://www.countryclipart.com/ILoveCntrySet/hmwhrhartis.gif

Gary: That Fed-Ex truck probably froze up coming through North Dakota. They got 18 inches of snow over the weekend. It's supposed to be even colder this week. Good thing I've got a quilt to work on!
Angel: I hope you're feeling better. do you get these nose bleed a lot?
Well, yesterday was a much better day with my WOE. I feel like I'm gaining control. If I want to snack in the p.m. I grab a handful of peanuts or popcorn but most of the time I drink a tall glass of water which does help.
I better get going to work. Have a super day everyone!!

Wow, thank you for the support regarding my date. I hate this conflicted feeling. I really had a great time with Charlie, he is very nice and attentive and seems to be real and he's a good catch, and i care for Les, but just not sure what he's thinking. I want to do the right thing. Part of the problem is the timing with Les' mom's passing. Don't want to upset him. Charlie and I may have lunch tomorrow and he wants to go to dinner this week, he's going away for the weekend but wants to see me before he goes.
Alpha was wonderful last night......tell you all about it later.

Have been keeping up with the posts - everyone seems to be doing fairly well.
Wilma - the cold is terrible isn't it - we just got over a bad one here in BC with it being -34 so now that it is -20 it feels warm. All the roads are closed though so we cannot leave town.
Am still working on my no potatoes and no bread. Am not missing the potatoes at all, probably could fall back into eating the bread if I let myself but I am not going to. One thing though is I have not have peanut butter or jam now for 26 days - and that is a biggy. Have had some bread but am going for absolutely no bread this week.
For January I have lost 5 pounds - weighins have been Mondays so I am sure I will lose a little this week, but am taking the 5 pounds as the reduction for Jan. Feel good about that as I aimed for 4 so I was blessed with an extra one.
For walking - am now up to 710 miles. And have started doing some toning exercises. Get up out of bed and do my crunches, and wall push ups every morning so far since Saturday. Then yesterday afternoon while watching Dr. Phil I used my free weights and walked on the treadmill. I am pleased with my 'intentional exercise' - it is improving.
After watching Dr. Phil yesterday and seeing how all those people have lost 11 - 13 pounds in 5 weeks makes me feel somewhat 'small' with only losing 5 in the same length of time. But you know what I did lose and that is what counts. Also have made some life changes. Also yesterday took my waist measurement (took it also back on January 1) and found that I have lost 1 inch off it in 26 days. I have not taken the other measurements - just went by what Dr. Phil said in the Food Guide. So will be measuring it again at the end of February to see what difference - with eating correctly and all my intentional exercise it should be down a little more again.
Hubby commented today that my pant legs were starting to look baggy -- now just to get more loose around the hips and waist and I will be able to go to the next smaller size - should I make this a goal for end of next month?
Anyway have to run - lots of chores to do before Dr. Phil comes on - and want to get supper somewhat prepared by then.
Would like to hear some more success stories on the food plans everyone is using - how much they have lost for January for instance.
Hey there Coach :coach: (aka GARY)! I just couldn't post till I did my exercise today... didn't do it yesterday because Joe & I were out most of the day and when we did get home we totally vegged to the movie http://timbuktu.eluria.com/stamps_archivos/stamp_lovetowatchmovies.gif "Pirates of the Caribbean." with Jonny Depp (such a great movie!).
Well coach, I just finished about 15 minutes ago:
25 minutes (I'm working up to that 30 minutes...) and did
3.5 miles exactly. Whew!
No way I could do 45 minutes yet :^: !!! Glad for you Gary!! :cp: Because I report to you everyday, I will not go without the elliptical during the weekdays (thanx so much!) - with an exception... ... on the days I go to CURVES... I cannot do both in a day (right now)... maybe someday I will.
Gary, I am so glad to hear that you had good results with your blood work, but you have to take care of that hernia. It will only get larger if you don't. You know you would tell me the same thing ~ go make that appointment, you won't regret it. Is it painful? My nephew has had that surgery & before it, he was in pain, but is fine now.
And YES, Roadhouse Res. is the one with peanuts in buckets in the shell and shells go on the floor. We had a couple of great meals. We brought home half of the steaks and had steak & eggs for breakfgast on Monday before we went to get our shinny clean teeth :D
 No fair talking about gardening to those of us who are knee-high in ice and snow! "What are you thinkin'?!"
http://timbuktu.eluria.com/magooblinkies/bearyangel.gif Me too ANGEL, being I was the oldest I was always along side my mother cleaning - every weekend... and I have pictures that my mom took of me washing walls in the closet of my room at the age of 6 or 7, the bucket was larger then me  - we did walls too. And I also babysat & cooked. Yep, allot different from most kids today, huh.
Angel, why did you make the print so small?? I had a difficult time reading it without my glasses (I am still waiting for them to be fixed). Like your graphics... cute! The HOME one is from the site I have... they have good country graphics there.
Feel better real soon! :grouphug:
MICHELE, I must agree with Angel... date. This way you will know for sure when the right one does come along. The only reason I asked about Tom (shy-guy) or Les is because I just thought that's who you were interested in and no one else. Hope I didn't say something to offend you or make you feel badly about dating. Glad to hear that you and Charlie are having a good time together.
GARNET, prayers for your DD (DearDaughter)... I hope she finds a better job then the last one and finds it soon. Keep us posted, okay.
SAMI, I posted your pictures for you - now where are you kiddo? :^: Hope you are feeling okay!!!!
Hi WILMA, Whew! That's allot of snow & cold! You guys can keep it - we have enough of our own here. Stay warm & safe!
Hi SPROUT! Great job!!! My stats are always posted at the bottom of my post.
CHRISTIAN, I am so happy to hear that your father's DGF is doing so much better! I had faith that she would get better ;) I am so very happy for you all! Hope that you were able to get back on track... how are you doing?
I sent a PM with a link to our thread to JUDY thinking she may have gotten lost and I see that she has read it, but don't know why she isn't posting. Sure do hope that if you are reading this Judy, that you will drop in soon and let us know how you are doing :^: (((hugs)))
I have been slaving away for my trip, I got another 8 hours of overtime, and am scheduled for a double shift this Thursday as well. So E.Z. that would be an affirmative, working for the trip. you better get that hernia taken care of buddy, don't put it off! Grat job on your machine.
Mitchy- So gald to hear your water problems have stopped, during the cold here I keep the water dripping or the pipes will freeze. You'll know which guy is right soon, and then can work on it.

SUE HI GALS
Just got home from my step-daughter's soccer game (lost 2-0) and a fundraiser at Baja Fresh for my nephew's trip to Washington D.C. It was a pretty good turn-out from people from church-- not sure yet on the take but the kids get %15 of all the money taken in if you had a flyer for the fundraiser- every little bit helps.
Well I did 4 miles- 500 calories--and 38 minutes today on the elliptical. I was really sore from the 5 miles yesterday at harder tension. Good thing I did exercise anyway as I ate enough for 2 at the fundraiser--HEY IT WAS FOR A GOOD CAUSE
My daughter just called and wants to bring a car load of college girls by for dinner in a couple of weeks-- of course I said NO WAY- Heck no- I love college girls :D They are going 8 hours up the coast, after their tennis match that day, for the wedding of their captain from last year.
SUNNYD- GLAD TO SEE YOU! I thought you might have gotten stuck on your elliptical ;) There is no need to do it if you went to Curves-- you want to exercise as much as you can without OVER-DOING it, I have seen my wife do way too much (and she knows it) only to be out for a week or two from injury or pain. That is why I take it EASY  Angie and I liked the Pirates of the Carbbien-- have you been to Disneyland? The movie has sooo many things in it from the ride-funny and way cool  Angie said to tell you -Sorry- about the gardening but that it was OVERCAST some of the day! Thanks for the concern on my hernia- I do intend to get it taken care of before it gets too big- right now it isn't so much painfull as an annoyance. I have Angie and the kids feel it when I cough- hilarious the reactions!
SUE Boy the trip is sounding more fun all the time- sure is gonna be crowded! Thank you too for the concern on my hernia. Try to not work too hard- ya don't want to be sick from all the overtime.
SPROUT Great job on the walking. I have a question though about the bread and peanut butter-- are you sure you can't have it at all? I know it must be a Dr. Phil thing- and I think he is great- but my wife has WHOLE WHEAT bread with peanut butter for breakfast a lot of mornings and she says it holds her over to lunch no problem. Just curious.
ANGEL I do spen a lot of time with my kids sports. My #1 thing to do. I rarely miss a match or game, wether it be high school, college or rec. I bet your Grandkids sure love it when you are there! Wish i had grandkids- of course I don't want my kids to get married yet- just grandkids!
MICHELE So what are you now girl- "CHARLIE'S ANGEL"? ;) ;) Guess you better get off the EXCUSE TRAIN on the exercise and get crackin'- You are gonna need to get in shape to keep all these boys happy
WILMA Tried sending sun again today- if that fails I will send blankets!! Or at least pray for warmth!!
SAMI and JUDY Come on back O.K.?
ASKING FOR PRAYERS TONIGHT FOR OUR VICAR'S (pastor in training) FATHER. HE HAS A TUMOR ON HIS BRAIN, ONLY 47 YEARS OLD, AND NEEDS SURGERY SOON. THANK-YOU!

Prayers!!!! For your Pastor in training... he is the same age I will be on the 8th of Feb. :o ! How very sad! Prayers!!!

This is awesome!!!!!! My Aunt sent it to me this morning.
Cold, cold weather here! Angels are all freezing!http://www.thingsfromheaven.com/clipart/angels/angel26.gif
Gary...a housefull of college girls! I can just hear all the giggling now! What will you cook for them?
I'll be praying for your Pastor in training. My step dad had a very large tumor on his brain a couple of yrs ago. They cut him from one ear to the other. Came home in two days! Did fine. It wasn't malignant,l & hasn't returned. Hope all goes as well for him.
Sue...I always wanted to go on a cruise!! We were planning one for our 25th wedding anniv., but DH chickened out. He's always had the fear of cruises. Said if anything happened...there was nowhere to go! Well, we're having our 36th in June....still no cruise. Guess I'll give up! :dizzy:
Thanks for asking about our case....still nothing. The last we heard from lawyer was the week before Christmas. Maytag Co offered $12,000...NOT! We lost more than that in the storage theft! I can't understand why people can sue over such small things & win big money.....anyway, lawyer said we should take it....he & I had a few words over that! We're looking for a new lawyer (he doesn't know)...don't feel like he's trying hard enough at all. Think he though he'd make a quick buck. Only thing, we're having trouble knowing where to go, or what to do. Very discouraging. Our living conditions are terrible! Sometimes I don't think I can take it anymore.
SunnyD...I really like your new little graphics! I didn't realize the "welcome" was from your site.... http://www.emotipad.com/newemoticons/Sorry.gif. I try not to go into the site you're using...so there'll be a variety. I was just looking for something country. Hope you find this print more readable. Don't you just hate when you have to do without your glasses?! :dz: Hope you get them back soon.
We have a restaurant with the peanuts, too. It's called Logan's.
Sprout...Good job on weightloss!! http://www.eakles.com/102smiles4.gifHope you're feeling well.
Wilma...I don't normally get nose bleeds a lot. Just started lately. I noticed when I have a bad headache (figure bp is up), or when I get stressed or upset (again bp goes up) I've noticed I'm more easily stressed, or nervous since the fire & theft. I've just recently been put back on bp meds. Used to take it, for have been off for over 6 yrs.
Mitchypoo...It sounds like you're enjoying life & dating more than you used to. I hope so.
Hi Sami & Judy...
Gotta go get ready for work...have a great day!http://www.thingsfromheaven.com/clipart/cherubs/cherub16.gif

Our http://timbuktu.eluria.com/magooblinkies/gangel.gif Hi ANGEL...Yes, I can read this - it's lots better ~ Thanks! I am hoping to hear from my eye Dr. real soon! I am walking around in this soft focus world without my glasses and it makes me feel tired.
Oh, I don't mind if you use the same sites I do... it's free for all to use. I was just commenting on how nice the graphics looked is all. Please don't hesitate to use the site because of me! There are so many out there :dizzy: , there's no way we could use them all up ;) I love searching them out ~ don't you :)
Yes, we have a Logan's here too! Not many restaurants that get past Cleveland. We have way too many here...
As far as the weather... Joe had to come back home this morning. He's sitting in his recliner right now totally asleep! I think trying to drive up the hills, here in this snow was allot for him without the proper tires on that truck of his. The company is so cheap and they don't care about 'him' as much as the cost! They just sit behind their comfy desks and dictate!! So he came home saying, "I am not going to put my life on the line for them!" I am so happy he came home... he is just waiting out the storm right now & then will try again. We have it coming down so thick right now we can hardly see accross the street! I bet we have gotten 6" just since 6:00 this morning! The temps are a bit warmer (17*) but with the ice storm we had yesterday and the snow on top today it is dangerous! Over 300 schools are closed here in OHIO. And many accidents! I'm not going anywhere today that's for sure... elliptical day today - I will workout this afternoon. I have paperwork this morning I have to catch up on.
I hear stirring in the livingroom... I think the boss woke up ;)
Another cold day here - but not bad if you are inside. All the roads are closed around us - I am grateful that we don't have to travel out of town. Just heard on the radio that there has been a major car accident about 50 miles out of town, numerous vehicles involved all due to road conditions.
Anyway did my 2 mile walk today so am now up to 712 - will hit that 800 before I know it.
Gary, you asked re bread and peanut butter. In Dr. Phil's Rapid Start Plan, the first 14 days does not include either of these. After that, you can add them back, - his next set of 21 sample menus allows bread 3 times. Since January 1, I have had a total of 8 slices of whole wheat but not peanut butter. This morning after our walk, we went for coffee (I had my usual bottled water) and hubby ordered toast for himself while I had scrambled eggs - no toast. He had just about finished his last slice - just a small bite left and he had a little peanut butter and jam on it - I asked him if I could taste it as I had not had peanut butter or jam now for 28 days. And a good thing - that one small bit is not good I have discovered because I now realize that if we had peanut butter in the house I would turn to that on bread for a snack - and I would not stop at just 2 slices. I have learned something there - the whole wheat bread is not a problem - 1 - 2 slices is plenty - actually think it tastes terrible - but add the topping and I would be back on my way to fat city. So I have to make sure that I do not have these around as they are what is referred to as 'trigger' foods for me.
Anyway all else is going good - getting daughter ready to go with her youth care worker for 2 hours, then off to the doctor I take here for her yearly checkup - think I will take a peek at the scales again for myself.
Will check in here again later -

Hello sorry again I have been gone so long but I have had a cold so I have been comming home and going straight to bed! And I hate to say it but we got my DH a guitar for christmas and he plays it down her where the computer is and it drives me nuts!!!!!!!!!! So I spend a lot of time upstairs where I can't hear it. LOL
EZ-You better watch the hernia my dh had one on each side and had the surgery. He was off work for 8 weeks! But they did it as outpaitent he was home in 4hrs (way to soon) I had to drag him upstairs and he really wasn't awake. When he got up to go the the bathroom the first time I was going to go with him but he said he didn't need me to help. Next thing I knew I heard a thud!!!! I ran in the bathroom his pants around the knees he was laying on the floor! He said the pain got to him. (he was a big baby to this day he says his surgery hurt worse than all of mine) I am sure you will do much better! LOL Prayers for your Pastor in training. Let us know how he does.
Sue-I have only been on a train once and it broke down several times right in the middle of junk yards! Then when whe were on out way home they way over booked and we had to stand for over two hrs until they got another car added! I bet a sleep car is a lot nicer.
Anglelover-The little blonde is my Angel. She is so bright. Last night she brought me dinner in bed she said I needed to eat! My younger dark headed Ashli also suffers from nose bleeds and I have a hard time getting them to stop. I am praying things are better.
Sprout-You are doing Great All that walking has to be so good for you.
Wilma-Yeah you are doing well! I would rather have an inch off than a lbs!
Sunny-Thank you for posting my pictures someday I will figure out how to do it! I love the Jesus Story it really got to me. We have had some snow here also the kids missed school tues. I just relized that you are not that far from me. The kids play kickball in OHIO sometimes. One of the places is Grove City.
Mitchypoo-Has Les made it home? Is Les the one you took home with? There is so many I can't keep them straight! LOL I hope you drain is draining now.
Garnet-Praying for your DD. I got a call the other day and around here one of the big discount stores just layed off a lot of thier people and they are calling to see if we are hiring. From the one I talked to it was a shock! I will pray that she finds something soon.
Christian-I am so glad your fathers friend is doing so well. Does she know when she gets to come home yet?
Please keep my Friend Marsha in your prayers. She fell at work and now they are saying she may not have her job when she comes back because she will be off for awhile because she did big damage on her knee and they have to do surgery on it.
Got to run I will post more later.
