Hello and welcome to the Thin Group! :cheer:

We are a great group of ladies (but men are welcome if there are any who care to join us) who have one thing in common. We are all working together toward our goal of being healthier in our daily lifestyles and to lose weight. There are all different ages and backgrounds here and we all have different ways of losing our weight. We all love to have fun and laugh, but we also give a lot of support, encouragement and motivation for one another.

Everyone has their ups and downs and we’ll be here with you thru both! Please feel free to post with us - just jump right in and believe me, you will be welcomed with open arms. The more the merrier!

Let’s all work together towards a healthier us in 2004! :gossip:

Please feel free to check out our website and learn more about us at: www.geocities.com/hotsprings/sauna/4797

What a bummer! I've been trying to get in for days to post, and now this unfortunate happening with the site all our recent posts are lost! I thought I would just start a new thread anyway.

I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas and New Year. I did peak in one day but didn't have time to post and noticed Desiree had started a couple of threads ... sorry Desiree, guess you will have to start them once again.

I seem to remember that Patti (nawlinslady??) had posted again with us ... welcome Patti and hope you post here with us often! Welcome back.

We are back home now .... came back from our cabin for Christmas, then went back up for a week after christmas with a load of stuff that we packed up ... getting ready to get the house up for sale and make our move up to the woods. Went to the casino again Sunday and my lucky streak continues as I won $800 this time (but only came home with $500 of it). :)

I haven't been watching my diet well at all since Thanksgiving ... this morning I got on the scale .... wasn't too bad considering .. I am 2 lbs up!!! So, as of right now, I am faithfully back on doing low-carbing!!!

Well, gotta go (need to change my stats a bit) -- Hope to hear from all of you SOON!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Love, CJ

Guess I'm back to ethansmommy. LOL!

Things have been rough around here. I have to go back to work, because Rob lost BOTH of his jobs. I don't really want to go into what he did to lose BOTH of them, but suffice it to say that I don't think very highly of his morals right now. He's on my you-know-what list, actually. He has been looking steadily since right before Xmas, but has found nothing. He could very possibly have a job as of tomorrow, but I don't know. I'll update when I get some good news.

As far as WW, I have been decent. Okay, the past few days have been bad, but I'm not too scared to weigh-in on Sunday. ;)

BTW, if anyone would like to check out some *super* books for kids, I have recently signed up to be a Usborne Books At Home consultant... you can PM me for more info if you want. :)

Off to bed now, I'm beat.

Hello Ladies!

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL OF YOU!!!

I hope you are all doing well in this New Year! I'm popping in for a quick hello. I really need to find some time to get back to exercising. Nico is teething and he is quite the cranky child. He also learned how to scream and loves to hear himself:yikes: My parents are going out of the country again....this time for 2 MONTHS!!! I will be watching my nieces and nephew again but I think this time, it's going to be harder than the last time. My 8 month old niece is crawling all over the place plus her two teeth came in....mine is rolling all over and is teething. We shall see how I do. I will have one of my sisters watching the baby an hour everyday that I'm there so that I can use her treadmill. I need to make this the year of losing weight. For the moment, I'm setting my goals to be a bit more realistic for me...10 pounds by the end of March. We shall see how that goes. I'm buying a scale tomorrow but will wait until "Aunt Flo" goes away to weigh myself.

*sigh* Nico is yelling again...my goodness, that kid has some strong lungs!

CJ-You are the Queen:queen:! Some things never change!

Desiree-Sorry to hear about Robert's jobs...I hope he finds something soon!

Where is everyone? I hope you lovely ladies post soon!

Gotta run, Nico is not a happy camper at the moment and my husband is whining...men!:dunno:

Hugs to all!

Hi everyone - getting ready for beddie bye but thought I would do a quick post. Been really busy packing up tons of boxes full of household stuff - getting this house as empty as possible so we can do some painting and spiffing up so we can put the house up for sale. We have a lot of stuff!!!

SYLVIA: Boy you are going to have your hands full taking care of your sister's kids! Good luck to you - lol.

DESIREE: So sorry to hear of your hubby's job ordeal - hope he finds something soon! And good luck to you on your book selling job. Waiting for you to start up our weigh-in thread again.

Where is everyone hiding? SHARON? (Are you working at H&R again? I know - I owe you email - big time)! JUDY? PATTI? SHERRY? (from Loosing Floozie - remember, you said you would post after the holidays?)

Well ... I got rid of the 2 lbs I put on over the holidays ... now onward to my end of January mini goal (160) ... my granddaughter is having her 1st child next week (Wed, Jan 21) by cesarean. Imagine that .. me, a great-grandmother already! Oh, and next month I will be receiving my 1st social security check! Yahoo! I think Dick and I will take a small break from packing and take a small trip - to Missouri for a couple days.

OK ... that's all for now .. hope to hear from everyone real soon!

Weekly Workout

The Doctor told me, I should start an exercise program. Not Wanting to
harm this old body, I've devised the following:

Monday
Beat around the bush
Jump to conclusions
Climb the walls
Wade through the morning paper

Tuesday
Drag my heels
Push my luck
Make mountains out of mole hills
Hit the nail on the head

Wednesday
Bend over backwards
Jump on the Band Wagon
Run around in circles

Thursday
Advise the President on how to run the country
Toot my own horn
Pull out all the stops
Add fuel to the fire

Friday
Open a can of worms
Put my foot in my mouth
Start the ball rolling
Go over the edge

Saturday
Pick up the pieces.

Sunday
Kneel in prayer
Bow my head in thanksgiving
Uplift my hands in praise
Hug someone and encourage them.

Hi Everyone!! I can't believe I hadn't posted anything since 2001!!! Believe it or not CJ your "Miss You" note was still in my box from 2001.
Yes, I have been dieting but I can never stick to a diet. I do well during the week but the weekends really hurt. So when I look back I felt bad because I haven't lost any weight in 2 years except I did gain 5 lbs. Hope all of you did better than I did!!
Glad to be back!!

My goodness - where is everyone?? I do hope this group perks up soon!!! We've come to far to let it die out ...

Kolica: Welcome back ... hope you post often with us .. our group is not as large or as "talkative" as before, but hopefully we will still survive!

Not much going on here ... been busy packing up boxes and boxes to take up north - emptying out the house so we can do some "spiffing up" before putting it on the market. Hope to sell the house this year and move up north permanently. We just purchased 20 more acres adjacent to our 20 acres we already have ... This might just delay the start of our new house until next year tho .. we will be living in the cabin until then, but that's ok.

I'm slowly getting back on track with my lo-carbing ... 2 days now doing good.

Sylvia - Desiree - Sharon ???? Where are you guys. Hope all is well with you all. Miss you! Please post soon!!!!

Well ... off to bed. I'll check in again tomorrow ...

POST EVERYONE! P - L - E - A - S - E !!!!!!!

Good morning my Thin Group buddies (wherever you are)! (Sharon - Sylvia - Desiree - Kolika - Keanie - Judy - and anyone else I've missed) .....

Just popping in to say hello ... it's Friday, and I am getting ready to go take a shower .. wash my hair ... and then plan to start going thru my clothes and putting aside for good will the ones I don't (or can't) wear anymore. That's going to be tough as I have a hard time getting rid of stuff .. although, since I have been packing up to move it's become a bit easier for me. lol

Well ... hope you all have a great day and weekend coming up ... hope to hear from you all real soon!

Hi guys,

Didn't mean to stay away so long, but when Christmastime came and all the kids were here between the Air Force ones, Tracy and Alan and still living at home son, Dan I didn't get a chance to get on the computer really cause they all HOGGED the computer and I just said the heck with it. PLUS I was really just enjoying my visit with all of them and my Dad, from Michigan and was hanging with him and everyone else and just got busy that's all.

So decided to post something to let you guys know I am still around and have been reading everythiing whenever I get a chance. The holidays were great, Tracy was here for 3 weeks, Alan for 3 weeks and my Dad stayed 2 weeks as well. I miss everyone but I sure was a busy bee with all the commotion. I just cooked up a storm and we were going all the time too. So happy that the holidays are over and loved having a house full of company, but it is nice when it is a little been more quite around the house. LOL

I have also went back to work at H & R Block at the beginning of January and have been working so much lately. Been putting in around 40 hours a week and they have all new receptionists this year and I am the only one who knows how to do everything and I have been training all of them so they need me to be there till they learn the ropes, after all this is my 7th year and I hope I know how things run by now. LOL

Also I am going to go to Los Angeles, California in a couple of weeks, from Feb 15th to the 28th for training for my other job, Early Childhood Educational Studies I do in the elementary schools in Indianapolis, accessing the children again. So I will be doing 2 jobs again and will be going all the time even more. I will have to cut back on H & R Block but by that time we will be slowing down hopefully. I decided that since they will be sending I might as well add some more time and see my Dad's family, the relatives in Los Angeles area, the Aunts, Uncles and Cousins ect. Than while I am at it, I should see my Air Force son, Alan stationed a few hours away in Lompac too. He will be going to Iraq in April for up to 6 months so I really need to see him before he goes and since we have never been to his base, Vandenburg I know he would want me to come and spend some time with him so I have extended it another week for that. I can't wait either to go.

So how goes everything with all you Thinsters? Great I hope.

CJ-Hi there, miss you lots and lots. Just saw your email today and see congratulations are in order for your new great grandson. Now I know you probably mentioned it to me, but who is the mother? Is it Dawns daughter? Or do I have it wrong. I am tryiing to think which grandaughter is old enough out of them. Sounds like you are a busy lady yourself, getting ready to sell the house and move to the cabin. You are doing great again on your low carb plan and I am glad that you are doing so well and getting back on track. I know when Ken and came to visit you guys this past summer you did soooo well and I don't know how you did it cause I sure didn't lose anything that week like you did. But you know me and low carb, just can't seem to give up that pasta, potatoes and bread. Too hungry without a bit of it at least. But I envy the way you stuck to it, even scrapping the topping off the pizza and I just had to have the crust. Keep up the good work, you will get to where you want to be yet. When I get a minute I will answer your email to me.

Keanie-Welcome to our wonderful group. Glad to have you join us, you will love us, we are small but mighty group who is always there to support, encourage and motivate each other. I really do give you credit for losing that initial 45 pounds and don't worry about what happened during Christmas and the funeral, that's water under the bridge and the point is that you lost that weight. You had a minor setback and you will get there again if you just take it day by day and do what you can exercisewise and everything else. Just do what you can with the exercise and anything is better than nothing, even if it isn't daily just do what you can do for your situation. Just the fact that you are eating healthier counts for so much as well. Keep up the good work and stick with us and we will help you along the way. Thanks for joining our group!

Desiree-Gosh I am sorry about your husbands job situation, but am glad that you were able to go back to work to help out till things get better for your family financially. Things will get better for your and yours, just have hope and faith and that will get you through the tough times.

Sylvia-So sorry the little guys is sick, that is always so hard when they feel so bad. You feel for them and wish you could trade places with them and take away what they are going through. Teething is bad enough and than with him getting sick on top of it I feel for him and yourself too. All you can do is be there for him like mommies do. Let us know how things are going when you post. Here is a much needed hug for you!
((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((SYLVIA)))))))))) )))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))

Well guys better get off here and go downstairs to exercise. I forgot I have been doing pretty well weight wise. For the 1st time in a long time I actually had lost 3 1/2 pounds between Thanksgiving through New Years. So that is a first for me, now I am down 30 pounds and I am trying to keep up the pace through eating healthy, drinking my water and exercising almost everyday.

Take care guys and talk to you soon.

Love you, Sharon :grouphug:

Hello Ladies!

Just popping in for a quick hello. It's been a very LONG week...Nico has two teeth that popped through this week and it's been h*ll. I think I slept more when he was a newborn. He will be 6 months old on Wednesday. I can't believe how fast time flies, it seems like I was just complaining about all the fluid retention and him sitting on my bladder. *sigh*

I'm trying to eat healthy and low carb but when you are walking around like a zombie, all you think about is sleep. My parents are out of the country again and I'm watching my 10 month old niece. Talk about a workout! My niece is starting to walk and my Nico is rolling around and army crawling all over the place. At least, I'm getting some exercise! Now if I could only get more sleep....

CJ-Just think of all the calories you are burning with all of the packing you are doing! Come on CJ....we can't let this group die out, you know that we've been through alot together! If anything, I can start posting the "goodies" that I get in my e-mail again...that will get people posting! :D

Sharon- Thanks for the hug, I need it. Teething hasn't been fun. Nico gets his shots on Monday so that won't be any fun either. Oh well, this too shall pass. That is so cool that you are going to be in LA!!! My youngest sister lives in LA and my brother lives in Orange County. If I wasn't watching my niece, I would drive down to meet you! I don't know how Nico would hold up being cooped up in the car for the 6 hour drive and teething...I don't want to even think about it! Maybe you could e-mail me the name of your hotel and I can give you a call to say hello.

Kolika-WELCOME TO OUR LITTLE GROUP!!! :D

Well ladies, I've got to run, baby is screaming...sounds like another sleepless night:(

Hugs to all!

Hi Thinsters! Hope this finds you all in good spirits - just popping in for a quick hello. Lots of running around this week ... need to make a run up to the cabin soon - my house is full of packed carboard boxes!

Slyvia: Hope you all are feeling better now ... oh, I do remember the teething days! Hope he is over it soon. Thanks for the compliment on my looks .. I don't feel like a great grandma age wise ... but sure am proud of all my "babies" !!

Sharon: Hope to get an email from you soon .. although I understand if not .. I know how busy you are. Miss you tho! Hope to hear from you before you leave for Calif but if not, have a good time! My great grandson is Dwayne and Linda's daughter's ... I think you met them when you came up north didn't you? I forgot. If we don't connect soon, hopefully we can phone chat when you get home from your trip!

Kolika, Denise, and everyone else - if you're lurking, please do post!

POST GIRLS - POST! We need to keep this group alive!

Until later ...

Hello ladies!

Just popping in for a quick hello. It's very quiet in here! I'm hoping that will change! Come on ladies, I can here you breathing!! Come in and post! :drill:

Well, the weather here has been beautiful. I took the baby for a nice stroll to the beach. I have one of those "all terrain" strollers that held up rather well in the sand. I didn't go all the way to ocean as I can just imagine myself huffing and puffing trying to push the stroller up the sand dunes. We just walked along the sand trail. I think when I get in better shape, we will make it down to the water. Anyway, it was a nice 45 minute stroll. The baby enjoyed it...at least I think he did. I've been trying to do well on eating healthy. For some reason I'm addicted to Trader Joe's frozen petite green beans. I sautee them in olive oil with some mushroom and herbs and serve them over rice...yummy. I never thought I would say this but I want to get back to the weight I was right after I had the baby. I'm the same weight that I was before I got pregnant and know that I had probably lost about 15 pounds right after his birth. I found them all! :yikes: With the holidays and the cold weather, I just don't know what happened. I do need to get back on track.

CJ-I guess it's up to us to keep this group going again. It's OK, we've done it before! Teething has gotten better but now he got two shots and he is VERY fussy. If it's not one thing it's another.

Well, I hope to see more of you in here posting!

Hugs to all-

Sylvia

You're on Sylvia!

Good morning all! Just a quick hello here ...

SYLVIA: Yes, looks like it's the two of us once again for a while ... we can do it! Your walk along the ocean sounds so nice ... I'm so tired of snow and ice now ... I looked forward to it in December, but have had enough now. It can go away and stay away.

Not much to say right now ... still trying to stay away from the bad carbs. Got my treadmill out and dusted off ... now if I can just convince my body to get on it! lol

Well ... have to go get my coffee and write out a couple of bills (tax bills)!! YUK

Talk to you later .... All you "lurkers" should feel guilty for reading our posts and not posting! Shame on you! That's ok ... I know you'll come in and talk to us soon.

Hello Ladies!

Once again I'm popping in for a quick hello. Today was not a good low carb day. I Don't even want to think about the cr*p I ate today.*sigh* I did manage to get 30 minutes on the treadmill this morning so that should compensate some. Tomorrow is another day. :^:

CJ- So, how did it go at Bingo? I'm sure you did well, you are always lucky at gambling! Good job on getting on the lurkers...nothing like a guilt trip to get them back in posting! :D

Kolika-WELCOME BACK!!! You are so right, losing anything more than water weight is very tough! I've been trying to lose these pesky pounds but they always seem to "find" their way back to me. Hopefully, this will be the year they stay lost!

The baby is crying....big hugs to everyone...including the lurkers! ;)

Good Morning Thinsters! :)

Thought I would post a quickie while having my coffee ... a quickie post is better than no post don't you think?

SYLVIA: I didn't do well at bingo ... waited for the jackpots but that last number just wouldn't come out .. actually, I'm luckier at the casinos I think ... will have to go soon - lol. I am thinking of starting a daily menu thread again if I could get others to post with me ... sometimes it helps to see what you are eating in black and white (and for others to see too) ... what do you think? I know you are busy now so maybe won't work for you. If I do, I'll make it a sticky so it stays on top.

Anyone else interested in posting your daily food journal ?? Let me know.

Also, we've done this before .. how about a low-cal/low-carb recipe thread??

OK ... going to a very fancy dinner club tonite for Valentine's dinner with friends .. have to get Dick's suit out and ready (he gets in a suit about once a year - and that's pushing it)!

Group hugs for everyone (and as Sylvia says - including the "lurkers") :grouphug:
