GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today-read between the lines on the first one, it's quite good:)

AS IT COMES
If you delay living the joys until later, they can fade to almost nothing before you ever experience them. If you delay addressing the problems until later, they can become far more difficult and imposing by the time you get around to them.Instead, live life as it comes. Work through the challenges as they appear, and drink in the joys as they come along.

If you delay rest and relaxation for too long, you'll grow weary and burned out. If you delay effort for too long, the best of life's opportunities will pass you by.

Rest when you're tired, and get back on your way when you're rested. Listen to the rhythm of life, and live it as it comes.

Stop waiting for things to get better, or easier, more comfortable or more convenient. Go with what you have here and now.

Find the value in each moment, in each situation as it arises, then live that value. Make the very most of life, each moment as it comes along.

-- Ralph Marston

FORGO THE TALK

There are those who talk endlessly about what they're going to do. Then there are those who get busy and do it.

The talkers usually get all the attention, for that's what they've learned to do. What the doers get is not attention or glory, but solid and meaningful results.

The next time you hear someone complaining or advising, criticizing or second guessing, think about what you're hearing. It is the sound of ineffectiveness.

Too often, talking about taking action becomes a substitute for actually taking that action. Talking is easy and doesn't carry much downside risk, but it also doesn't offer much upside potential.

When all you're doing is talking, you can quickly and easily change from one approach to another and back again. Action, on the other hand, takes time and commitment.

Yet it is action, not mere talk, that brings real and valuable results. You'll move the world forward when you forgo the talk and put your energy into real, honest, effective action.

Morning all!

I'm so glad to see the board up and running even if it is limping along a little bit!

Susanne--Thanks so much for all your hard work on the board, I know it must be disheartening to have everything disappear all of a sudden. I'm so grateful to you for working so hard to maintain the 3FC site!

It's a beautiful day here, but very cold (at least for Alabama). I hate cold weather so I'm hanging in until spring.

Talitha--I hope you get better soon. This stuff sure seems to hang on a long time. I know several peole who can't seem to get rid of it.

Jackie--I bet ya'll are cold in KY! Speaking of which--thanks for beating the Tarheels last weekend!:D

Monet--How are you doing? Are you still working?

Crystle--Is it getting any better?

SEF--OY--I can't even think of swimming when it's this cold! Good for you--my DM does water aerobics three times a week and loves it. They have an indoor pool. but still that water's awfully cold when they get in at 8 am--BRRRRRRR. Course I bet that really jump starts the old metabolism!

Deb--Is today Eli'a day off or was it yesterday? If it's today--have fun!

BOB--Hey gorgeous!

Everyone else--Have a great OP day!!!!

Since I was on the scale at the Dr. yesterday that will be my Weigh in for the week. Hmmmm Lent's not far away either!

I missed you all yesterday!!!

I did good with eating, except for a few FF's of my dd's. My weigh-in today was 120.5#, which I was glad to see since I have been staying closer to the 122's.

I am trying to talk my DH into going to Nashville for our summer trip this year; it's a place I've always wanted to visit. I am a huge Country Music fan, and think it would be a neat place to visit. He has relatives in Brimingham and Panama City, so we would probably make a long trip out of it and visit them too. I think I'll talk him into it.

I am going to be watching a friend's kids today while Britt is in school; it's payback time for when she watched Lane for me when I volunteered in Britt's class a few months back.

My DS lives in San Diego and can't find the Blue Bunny Lite 85 yogurt; I guess they don't have any BB products in California. Do any of you have any other yogurt recommendations???

Well, since I didn't get on soon enough yesterday to read posts before the crash, I don't have any replies. I hope you are all doing well, exercising, eating right and staying happy!

Have a great day.

Take care & God Bless,
Nat

Hi all,
It is frigid here in South Central Kentucky! It was 13 this morning! This Alabama girl isn't used to that! But doesn't being cold burn more calories? I guess that's a bright side?
THe board crashed with no answers to my questions about how many calories I needed per day, but I think I found it. I htink it's about 2000- 2200. Sound right for a 5'7" 28 yo female who jazzercises 60 min 3x week, works a desk job, and hopes to start walking some on my off days. I know I know, I've said that before.
My resolve is still really good. I am on day 7 being TOTALLY LEGAL! Yeah me! Even though it hasn't been a week since I started, I did weight this morning and got some disappointment...I've lost 1#. I started at 192 on Jan 1 and was at 191 today. However, last Saturday, I was at 189...NO FAIR! TOM has an ETA (estimated time of arrival) of today or tomorrow, so could that be the problem? It's a little disheartening to have been so completely legal, eating enough fruits and veggies, etc. and really see no change. Especially since during the holidays (and before) I was eating like it was my job! I DID not hold back on sweets or anything! I'm going to give this a month before I make a dr appt. to see if there is something else going on, ie. thyroid. I know I've talked about that before, but I didn't feel like I had much tot alk to the doc about since I wasn't giving my full effort to weightloss. I am now, so I'll give it a month. Make sense?
Here's my menu to be sure I'm not fooling myself, tell me what you think:
B: 1 slice ww toast with 1 tsp smucker simply fruit, 1 ounce part skim mozzerella, a few almonds (I was late for work!)
S: 4 oz (snack size) dannon light and fit yogurt
L: a big bowl of homemade veggie soup (chicken broth, carrots, limas, tomatoes, green beans/ half ham sandwich w/ 1/2 slice provolone & mustard/apple
S: triscuits with mozerella
D: Pork roast with some veggie (probably broccoli or cauliflower) and spinach salad with homemade SF dressing

I do need to get more water in, I know that. I'm going to Walmart at lunch and getting a big jug to keep water in at my desk to sip on.
Feedback much appreciated! Have a wonderful day! Stay warm!!!

Good morning,
Glad to see that something is here! What a bummer, but recieving all your posts has definitely helped. WIW was OK. I haven't weighed in since before leaving on vacation(12/17) and was only up 3 pounds. Considering all the great food(not all of it legal), I don't think that that's bad. We were pretty active too. No laying around the beach every day.
Cold here today too, 18 degrees! yuck!
Off to eat my orange!
Everyone have a great day!

Hey all--it's me again. I'm lurking around here because I'm putting of getting started on a project--ick!

Barbara--I think 3 lbs for vacation is pretty darned good!

Jenn--YES TOM can have everything to do with the scale moving slowly or even bouncing up. DO NOT let this weigh in discourage you--my scale would always ounce up 3-4 lbs when TOM was due (Tee Hee Hee--no more TOM for me!!!!!!!) Also I have found that when I fall off the wagon it really take about 2 tweeks o jumpstart the losing again so , again, don't let this discourage you.

Nat--Nashville is a lot of fun! If you make it to Birnmingham let me know cause I'm only a couple of hours away and go there all the time.

I guess I've put this off long enough now--I really need to get to work.

Good morning everyone. So glad the boards are back up.
Its soooo cold here. Its a big change from Monday being 81 to today being 59. Im FREEZING. I know for you 10 degree people 59 is like a heat wave...but us floridians arent used to it! Im happy to have it though...Id rather be cold than hot!
Anyway...3 days..well almost 3 days down and 100% OP. Except that I did have a little Honey baked ham..but that was the worst of it. Im curious to see what the scale is going to say once TOM is done. Well If I can remember everyone..Im gonna do some replies...

BOB - DM is going ok. She is going to the Dr. tomorrow to give him all her tests results from the last 2 weeks...then he will decide if he will fix her and do the hernia...or just do the hernia.
I would love to see the Colts in the Superbowl...I think Dungy deserves it and so does your man Peyton! Good for him on getting MVP.

PANCHO - Did you finally get to see the low carb show? You may have posted it...but I didnt get to see if you did. Great job on your weight...what an inspiration. At least TOM desnt stop you from going to the gym. I think its just my excuse not to get out there.

JACKIE - I wasnt crazy about S&C either Sunday night. It was ok..but I have to say Im not ahppy with Carrie and her choice of men. I love the fact that Miranda and Steve are together.

FRUIT - I say its worth your while to watch Sex & the Ciy. I think its a great show. I started late too...I think a lot of people did. Good job on staying OP. We can do this!

Well I hope everyone has a great WIW...I know I wouldnt if I was weighing..thats why Im not! LoL.

Have a good day

Oh my gosh we're up and running again. I've stayed OP but its hard for me to lose. I'm trying not to be disappointed that I only lost 1/2 lb. this week. I'll have to be on the look out for any mistakes I'm making. And hope next week brings a better loss. Its really cold here too and we've had to keep our wood heating stove really going to help save on propane. I've enjoyed everyone that wrote.... Have a good one ladies!

OK, today is WIW & I am happy to report that even though it is only 1 lb, at least it's 1 down & not up! :cp: So glad it's finally going in the right direction! I've been having a headache for the last couple of days & realized last night that it might be cause I'm in detox!
I am finally beginning to feel better. Coughing has subsided alot, but is still bad at night. Hoping to return to work next week.

FILLISE,12.5 lbs! WooHoo! Good for you. Just think of the jump start you've had & when you can get back to the gym you'll really be alone to tone up. Just don't rush your recoup time.

SEF Yea, this emailing posts is really neat! Do you swim in a heated indoor pool? I know with your arthritis you don't take the cold & dampness well. Yes, I know what you mean about the SOB, I've been having my fair share of that with this asthmatic bronchitis. You are blessed to have such a understanding DIL & DS that loves you & want you with them. I know that you must take akot of comfort in that. Hey, one OP day will be 2, then 3 & before we know it, we'll be back in the swing of it. :)

Rosalie I totally understand about the boredom & the cookies. Have been too much in that circumstance not to understand it. It's not a pretty picture, I know. Hope you get back to your exercising soon to take your mind off of them. Jury duty...yuck! I always dread that too. Line dancing? Hey, that sound be fun & good exercising too! Hope jury duty does not interfer with it.

Talitha, I totally sympathize with you about the lung problems. This is for the birds. I need to feel human again. LOL Get well! Hey, eating looks great. It's so good to be back on track isn't it!

QUILTER/Kim, Thanks for messaging me yesterday! I soooo enjoyed our chat. Stay warm!

Teensy, -20 degrees? Oh MY! I cannot even fanthom what that would feel like. I do hope your electricity is still on, as you said in a prevcious post that it was blinking! Stay warm girl!

Debelli, Thanks for having us in your email & for keeping us informed. It must truely be a nightmare for Suzanne & her staff but thank God she was able to salvage some of the board. Until it is up & running again, we can make do! Hope you & Eli have a great day together.

SUZYB, Don't kick youeself too hard about that piece of cake. I think if you can enjoy an occasional indulgence & then get right back OP then you've got it made. We will sometimes make uh oh's like that but it's important that we don't continue it on a regular basis that counts.

Jack-K Walking in 18 degree weather, now that is dedication! I do admire you. Hey, not feeling the toes is not good. Do get it checked out! Hope your DD feels better before heading back to school.

woodfrogs, Hey girl, 3 lbs is not bad as you said. You've been doing so well, get back OP & continue your progress...don't let that little gain keep you down. Have a great visit with your mom!

Zanne One mouthful at a time... i like your quote. That is so true, that's all we can do. I came across a couple of recipes a few days ago for broccoli slaw & a few others with broccoli that really looked appetizing. Will send the link if you're interested. Good water intake. I'm still having a problem with that but am trying to increase it.

Well, Deb's last email said the boards are back up, so I will try to post this there, but I sure have enjoyed the emails! It has been nice to get the posts that way. My inbox has truely been boring until the site went down. LOL

Thanks Suzanne for all the hard work you've done to get the site restored. We do love & appreciate you for it!

Trying to catch up on the posts I missed before.

Pancho, Congrats on getting those extra lbs back off. If your DS has a WalMart in San Diego she could ask about the Blue Bunny Yogart. They have been good here about getting things I've asked about.

Jenn28, Congrats on 7 days OP! That is great. Keep it up & that scale will be moving downward soon!

Chrisd, Yea, 59 sounds like a heat wave compared to some of the temps reported here, even our 30's in SW LA! LOL I don't take the cold well. My feet are freezing even with warm socks & slippers inside the house. Sure donm't want to be outside where it's still windy. Yes, lentils are ok.

Toni48, Hang in there girl, that 1/2 lb lose will soon be a whole lb & more! I'll bet that wood heater feels good in that cold, huh?

What's going all my SB friends lost in Cyberland????I missed you all!! Well, anyway, it's good to be back on the board. I weighed over the weekend and was down 2 pounds, so I am counting that for my WIW. I have to go to the gyn. tommorrow and I am sure she will weigh me. I just can't step on the scale 2 days in a row. Eating has been pretty on plan, as well as exercise. I am still working with my trainer and can't believe I have been training for a year now. It has made such a difference. I am happy to report that I am only 13 pounds from goal. That will make an even 100 pounds lost. It has been very slow, but I am very grateful it has been that way. I have learned so much about myself in the past 3 years, and I feel if I had lost the weight really quickly, I would have been short changing myself in the lessons I've learned. That's just my personality though. Immediate gratification just doesn't help me in the long run....

Melf- Congrats on the 1 pound loss. That is SUPER!!!!

Toni- half a pound is great. I am a firm believer that slow is the best way to lose it.

Chrisd- Good for you and your 3 days on plan!!! Yes, lentils are Ok. How's Dominic?

Fillise- Glad to see you are recovering. Good for you on getting the weight back down, despite being sick and unable to exercise!!!

woodfrogs- here's hoping that vacation weight will come off in no time!!!

Jenn28- I can relate a lot to what you usually post. I used to take thyroid meds, but after being on SB a while was able to get off of it. I think the problem was more with my glucose affecting my weight. It's difficult to determine calories needed, because people are so different. I am 28, 5ft 7, exercise 5 days a week, and find that to continue losing, I can eat approx 1800 calories a day. I also limit my starchy carbs to no more than one a day. I find this makes a big difference. Good luck to you. Your menu looks great. To keep track of your calories, try using www.fitday.com. I find it helps.

Pancho- I also eat dannon Light n fit creamy. No added sugars, and better than Blue Bunny in my opinion.

Deb- I have missed you. Thanks for your work in helping get our posts back up and all your fabulous communication during these past few days. What would we do without you???

Hello to CountryMom, Julia, BOB(please let me know how you are!), Toni, Fruit & JACKK(I've missed you!), Gatorgal, SEF, Heartmom, and everyone else. Have a great day----Ashley

WOW ASHLEY that is great that you only have 13 more to go. i cannot wait to get to that point. i have soooo much more to go. But this is the way to do it...I would change my way of eating for anything. I love this way and will be doing it forever.
Dominic is doing good. Still in those lovely terrible 2's..but from some stories I hear it could be way worse than what I have. thanks for asking! :)

MELF - The wind is the worst part of it...wouldnt be so bad if the wind wasnt so bad...keep them feet warm! :)

I am at 212 ugh!! That's about 8 pounds that I put on since Thanksgiving. Well day after Xmas I was 215 so I lost 2 pounds since last week. I have found that even though I'm eating legal I am eating huge portions! Guess I'm detoxify again. It's freezing here in Connecticut!

So happy to have the boards back. We really are dependent on them.

Monday, I didn't have a chance to read Deb's MM. I did today. The one about Foregoing the Talk really hit home. When I started SB 2 years ago, I was embarrassed to let anyone know I was dieting yet again. I knew what they would think. Another one? How long will this last? I thought about that and became determined to do it and prove them wrong (even though no one ever said that to me). Maybe I was just saying it to myself. I was tired of talking about losting the wt. WellI have almost acomplished it. Enough to prove to others that I am serious about my health and wt, but no enough to me to quit until I get some more off. I will never quit. this is a WOE for life. Even though I think I have learned many things, after the Chritmas break, I see I can not control myself to quit completly.

If any others feel they can relate to the MM, I challenge you to stop the talk and do it.

Now that I am off my soapbox, don't know what came over me. I think the MM just hit home.

WIW is the same for me. that's ok.

It is very cold here. Don't know if we will be able to walk tonight.
I go to see the PT tomorrow and see what I can do and can't do. I really hate not exercising. Never thought I would say that.

Suzanne, thank you so much for all your hard work. We really appreciate all you do to keep this board going. It must be tons of work. We really depend on it and you. thanks again.

Susan, Lent. I remember how well you did during Lent. it is early this year too. I really didn't think we would be NC. We are not playing very good this year so far.

Pancho, I love Nashville, If you can afford it stay int he Opryland Hotel It is simply beautiful. We didn't but stayed across the street, shopped at the outlet mall all day and then went downtown to the country bars. You have to go to Tootsies. it is where Loretto Lynn was discovered. The bars there are great ifyou are into that.

Jenn, that calorie seems high to lose wt on. Maybe to maintain. But what do I know. Don't worry, stay legal and th pounds will come off and better, the inches.

Woodfrogs, 3 lbs isn't bad over Christmas. It will come right back off.

Chris, the first 3 days are the hardest. Hang inthere, you can do it. Lentils, yes.

Toni, I'll take that 1/2 lb. I stayed the same. Don't get discouraged.

Melf, :bravo: on the 1 lb. You're right, going in the right direction. Keep it up.

Ashley, I realized Monday night that you did not post. I was wondering about you. Only 13 pounds to go is awesome. You will do it. You have developed better eating and exercising parctices so you will benefit from it. 100 pounds is unbelievable. I can't imagine you with 100 more lbs.

Cherylco, it takes a while to get back into the swing of things. Hang in there.

Need to go eat my berries, be back later.

Jackie

jackieO, Woo Hoo! Celebration coming when you hit that 100lbs. Sounds liuke new clothes time! Girls that is sooo awesome. Proud of you! I've been doing Sb since Aug 1998 & believe me, although I've slipped along the way, I am still 40 lighter than I was then & plan to reclaim the 20 I've added over this past year. Even though I do fail at times, I always seek to incorporate Sb into my daily life.

chrisd, You're right about the wind being the wrose. I can handle the cold better when there's no wind. It comes straight into this woodframe house of mine. I often regret not getting a brick house when I bought this one, but been here 20 years & don't plan to go anywhere else.

cherylco, I have a DB that lives near Hartford. Are you far from there?

Good afternoon. I've been debating this morning on whether to share my thoughts or keep them to myself. I figured I would share in case someone else might have been through or is going through what I am right now. I am soooo mad at myself. The weight was up even more this morning. Which stinks after being so good. I'm at 161! Ashamed, angry and disgusted. You wouldn't believe the internal dialogue in my head...fatty...pig...knew you wouldn't stick with it...ect ect ect.

I know that I have and can do this. I also know that it's probably a couple of pounds of water. But over all the weight gain has been an anchor in my drive and dedication. You would think it would motivate. Oh no, I miss the things I used to eat without having to think about each meal. I DO NOT want to gain all the weight back and watching the scales go up over the last two months has been a nightmare. Kind of a strong statement but that's how I feel. More out of control than in. I had a few bites of potatoes when the discouragement set in this morning but the rest of my eating has been OP.

I hope I don't sound as negative as it looks. :) It's hard to put into words the throughts running aroundin my head. Not giving up just regrouping and hanging on by a thread.

WTG Jackie-K getting out in the cold. I don't think I could walk I'd freeze right on the spot. I'm gonna try to walk today but I have a feeling I'm gonna come running right back in. Well, I guess that's one way to start running..LOL

Cherlyco...hang in there. I understand what a pain putting on the pounds can be.

WTG Ashley!

chrisd....howdy!

Melf..one pound down is great! They will start adding up before you know it.

Toni...1/2 a pound is good too! Better than the alternative. :)

Love and hugs to everybody. I have to scoot.

CRYSTLE- Howdy..back at ya! You cant beat yourself up over gaining. Hang in there...thats what this board is for. If it wasnt for this board I would of given up a long time ago....not too mention my weekly calls from DEB. the holidays suck as far as eating, and it has for all of us...but we are all back and ready to get through this together....so stay positive and DONT get discouraged from the scale...just stay off it for a little while. i know thats hard to do...thats why i dont own one and I go to my mom's and weigh in. hang in there!

SUZANNE--We all appreciate you so much and want to let you know that your work for this website has been such a blessing to all of us, and many others who we don't even know.

I sent an e-mail to everyone before I knew the boards were up. I copied it so I will post it here also.

Also, I've been reading a really great book called "The Carb-Careful Solution" by Adele Puhn. She talks a lot about blood chemistry and how it affects our bodies. For example, she explains that the brain uses a high percentage of blood sugar to function the way it is supposed to. Therefore, when we neglect to keep our blood sugar up, then the brain goes a little crazy and craves whatever happens to be in front of us, just to elevate the blood sugar. That is one of the roots of cravings. Also, if we eat a simple starch or sugar, then the same thing happens, but even more pronounced. It was just so interesting to learn why I must keep my body fed about every 3 hours, with good snacks. I've been working on this for the past 3 days and I never seem to be hungry, don't want that sweet about 4 pm. in the afternoon like I usually do (because I had a snack about 3 pm.) and have actually lost a pound. Her advice is much like that given in the SB book, but to me it is plainer and is less "diet" and more "eating plan to keep your body chemisty good."

Here's my e-mail.
In the grand scheme of things, this (the board being down) is a very minor glitch. We have been very resourceful using e-mail. Just think if you were an Iraqui living in Iraq during the reign of Saddam and during the war, and even now as they try to understand what democracy is. You would not have the simple problem of having your board being down. I don't want to trivialize Suzanne's work, as I value it, and her, too. Her work and her site has helped numerous people, which is a blessing. But this is just a blip of life.

Eating going really well:

Yesterday breakfast: 2 chicken tenders and stir fried broccoli, baby carrots and green beans.
lunch--1 can tuna made into a salad with 1/3 apple, onion and celery, with no egg mayo on a bed of lettuce.
Snack--rest of tuna salad and 1/4 oz. 70% chocolate
Dinner
2 12 oz grouper sautéed, pan fried onions and french green beans.

Today breakfast 1 turkey sandwich with 3 oz white meat turkey on one piece oatmeal bread (no wheat) and cooked spinach.
Snack--1 small chicken breast, 2 baby carrots, 3 almonds, 1/3 apple and 1 oz sheep cheese.

I've lost one pound this week.

Have a great day everyone.

Hi, girls! Wow, I make a committment to get back on the boards and look what happens!! I threw the system into a tizzie, LOL! I'm so glad they were able to get us back up so quickly.

I haven't weighed. Scale's on the fritz (that's a double edged sword, huh) and I'm gonna have to get a new one. But eating's been good, need to work on getting in more water (I did better today), so I feel like I'm on the right track, again.

Seth had his first basketball game of the season last night, he plays in a youth league (11-12 y/o's) and the first few games are always hysterical. But, he enjoys it and they're fun to watch.

I better get back to work. This has been the longest day. I think dinner tonight is gonna be grilled sausage and sauteed cabbage.

See ya later.

Good afternoon,

Heading home. Think we are going to the UL bb game so no walk tonight. I have a pot of chili on, so dinner will be quick. May not be able to get on much tomorrow. I have a 9:00 meeting and then a dr appt for my shot and appt with PT. I will try though.

If anyone gets Health magazine or is interested, can check out their website. They had a great article on dieting this month. It was called Choose the best- lose the rest. The suggetions they made were so SB. With the exceptions of sugar foods. But the whole concept makes since. Sometimes you are faced with eating something you shouldn't but you have to learn how to do it wisely. check it out if you can

Crystal, You have been here before. Sometimes we just get totally disgusted with ourselves but it does no good. It will eventually when you are ready. Let that 161 be your limit. I know I freaked when the scale said 160. I never wanted to see that number again. So I know I have to do something now before it is 165,170 etc. You can do it. The next time you are frustrated or tempted, jump on here first before you eat something bad. You have come along way and should be very proud of yourself. This is a minor setback that will change.

Chris, one thing at a time. Exercise is so important and you must realize you have to do it for the rest of your life. that is why it is important to find something you enjoy so you enjoy exercising.

Gator, Congrats on the 1 lb. That is so true about eating every 3 hours. it seems to help.

Trish, we are glad you are back on the board, even if you do throw the board for a tizzie. Iremember those bb games. With girls it was even funnier.

Have a great evening.

Hello all!

Boy have I missed you guys. I wasn't able to get on for a couple of days. I kept getting this weird message....

"FAILURE! I was trying to decode: and got this error: Didn't find Auth-Date in header:"

Now what does all that mean??

Well, we have warmed up a few degrees here and it's snowing again. They are predicting 5 to 8 inches more today and tonight. Snow expected the next 3 days.

Spent yesterday in town at Costco. Bought a new vacuum cleaner. Had a Kirby that is like 20 years old!! I got a Hoover Windtunnel, and it is picking up so much more dog hair and "Love My Carpet" powder that I use to get rid of the doggy oder!! I am ashamed to see how much dirt and hair was staying in the carpet. Also bought a new toaster. But dh doesn't like it. Said he can't get his English Muffins out.....too bad.....I wish he would quit eating them anyway. (He could eat the homemade WW bread!!)

I didn't weigh in today because TOM is still here. I will weigh when ever it leaves. I have a some great OP days and have been back to a full exercise regiment. I am determined!! I quit eating all but one starchy carb per day. I still eat the Fiber One cereal in the morning for breakfast. Congrats to all you losers, and to those who have maintained!! Hang in there all of you who have gained. It will come off!!

Suzanne-- Thanks for all you do......as we know, we wouldn't be here without you!!

Deb-- Thank you for all that you do. You are very efficient at keeping us all informed andup to date! You are wonderful!!

Fillise-- WOW 12.5 pounds....that is fantastic!! We have warmed up here. Atleast enough for it to start snowing again. They are saying anywhere from 5 to 8 inches today. Snow off and on for the next couple of days then we will get a heat wave of 36 degrees!!

Pancho-- I would love to see Nashville too. Congrats on getting down to 120.5! You are so little!!

Jenn-- Don't fret, it could definitely be TOM. It will come, I didn't lose anything my first month.....but I was switching from PP. The menu looks good. Is the Dannon sugar free? You might want to keep the starchy carbs to a bare minimum for the month. I know that I got to where I was having 2 or 3 servings, now I am back to one, hoping to get rid of my small gain over Christmas! I

Wood-- Cold here too. But warmer than the -23 that we did have. Snowing now and expecting quite abit!!

Chrisd-- That would definitely be a heat wave for us!! But I know when you are not used to it, it can be cold.....stay warm!! Congrats on being on plan!!

Toni-- Congrats on the loss, hey .5 down is still a loss!!

Melf-- WTG girl....a loss is a loss!! I would be happy with it too!! We made it through the cold snap without losing power!!

JackieO -- Congrats to you girl!! 2 pounds is wonderful. Those last 13 will be gone before you know it!!

Cheryl-- Hang in there girl, it doesn't go on overnight and it definitely won't come off overnight!!

Jack-k-- I too learned something this year.....I thought I was past the temptation, but certainly learned different!! Both years before, I had a few goodies on Christmas day and was right back on plan the next day. This year, NO! I went bananas on a couple of days. Hang in there girl. You can do it.

Country-- (((((Hugs)))) Hang in there sweetie. And please don't beat yourself up. It really doesn't help any.....and we are after all only human. I did the same thing when I splurged the other day. I didn't have a good thing to say about myself. But you are NOT a pig, or a fatty or any other such thing, only HUMAN!! It is a new year, so forgive yourself and let's have a great new year!!

Trish-- Hello! Sports are a great thing for kids to get into. I miss watching the games once my boys grew up.

Everyone have a great Sugar Buster's day!! ;)

Hey Hey Hey!

We are up and running! The only thing that makes me mad about the whole crashing incident is that Monday night I actually took the time - about an hour - and posted to everyone! Very seldom do I have the time to post to everyone on the board. That night I did it - that's probably what caused the crash! haha!

Oh well, just a quickie tonight - I've got school work to do!

Eating has been great. Monday I was at 293 and this morning I was at 289. So, that's a good loss for a start. I know it's water but it's gone! :D

I passed on king cake twice yesterday and on some candy this morning. I was so proud of myself! I keep telling myself - CONTROL!!!! YOU CAN DO IT!

Well, that's all for now - I'll check back tomorrow after my doctor visit. It's my post op visit from my surgery. I'm going to talk about the next step in my getting pregnant process. I'll let y'all know what she says tomorrow!!

Bye for now!

So sorry about the boards crashing, but I'm glad they are back up! I've been doing okay with eating. Could be a bit better. One week ago, you all had to listen to me moan and complain about my weight gain. I ended up stepping on the scale and it said 177! So 7 pounds up! Today is alot better at 173. My pants are still tight though. I've started back with the exercising and mainly just focusing on staying legal throughout the day. COUNTRY- I know how you are feeling. Just get a grip now, before more damage is done. It's depressing and it sucks, but only you can undo the damage. You've accomplished so much, so yes you can get back to those low 150's. Just take it one day at a time, one hour at a time. I've spent too much time on the computer trying to catch up on my emails,etc...just wanted to let you guys know I'm still here and still SBering.. Oh, yea. Here's my food intake for the day.

BF- orange and nsa yogurt
snack(yes, I was a PIG) a box(4 servings) of SF chocolate pudding
Lunch- salad with chicken, bacon bits, veggies, ranch dressing
Another snack- 1 tbsp of PB and nsa yogurt
Supper- haven't decided. I'm baking chicken breasts, but don't know what to fix with them..
Water- plenty,lol.

First of all, I want to say thank you to SUZANNE!!! You must have had your bottle of wine and crazy straw when all this happened (just kidding, of course). You did a great job getting things back together for all of us. Thanks again!!

I just registered for a Nutrition class at a local college here; I think taking a few nutrition classes will do nothing but help me once I start doing the personal training. I am also curious what they are teaching about nutrition in school. It will be on Tuesday nights from 7:10 -9:55 p.m. from January 20-May 14th. It s/b fun and interesting. I'm gonna feel so old in that class.

Today, my eating has been well, and I have a chicken in the oven now; not sure what I am going to make with it yet.

Jenn28: Can't answer your calorie question since I have never counted calories since I started this woe; just watched portion sizes and sugar grams. Your menu looks good to me thouhg. TOM affects everyone differently, but for most of us, we go up a few pounds during that time.

Fillise: I will let you know if we end up making it to Birmingham; I'd love to meet you.

chrisd: I can relate about the cold weather. When it gets into the 50's here, it is fireplace and sweater weather....pretty pathetic! I love the cold weather though since we don't get nearly enough of it. I did watch the low carb show and found it interesting. It was pretty good. It told about some individual stories and talked to some skeptics. BUT, it surprised me how many restaurants cater to low-carb in larger metro areas like NY.

Toni: 1/2# is better than nothing, and definately better than a gain. It will start to come off again!

Melf: Congrats on the 1#. For some reason, Blue Bunny will not deliver to California.

jackieO: Congrats on the 2#'s. Wow, you will be able to join heart & Teensy in the 100+ club; how proud you must feel. Thanks for the yogurt recommendation; I will definately pass it on, and try it myself.

cheryl: Look at the positives. You were up, but you are starting to come back down; that's what you want....look forward, not back.

Jack-K: I'd love to check out the bars in Nashville, but will be limited due to the girls being to young. Guess we will have to do what we do in Vegas, go out on our own for a bit while the other is with the girls.

Country: Always feel like you can share your feelings here. Hang in there, sweetie!!! It is so easy to get discouraged, but you will lose the weight again. You've done it before and you will do it again. Be happy you are not where you were when you started and look forward!

Teensy: We have 2 dogs and 2 kids, and just shampooed our carpets over the weekend. I'd be embarrassed if anyone saw the color of the water we dumped out of the machine. It was pretty disgusting. We even went back over it to help it dry quicker and it still picked up a bunch of yuck. Hope you enjoy your new vacuum.

Well, I will check in tomorrow.

Have a great evening.

Take care!

Got a couple of minutes to post. I ate entirely too much at supper, but boy, was it good. I baked the chicken breasts in Pace Mexican Creations Ranchero sauce. Yummy. Then I made butter peas and my squash dish(squash, tomatoes, onions, italian seasonings, topped with Velvetta). I feel guilty about my portions today. I chalk it up to TOM. Anyway, I've been getting the word out about SB lately. Right now, I've got several Moms from my online heart support groups emailing me about it. I'm also enclosing a pic of me at my "fattest" and a pic that you guys saw a couple weeks ago that I posted. So far, everyone's amazed, lol. I'm also stressing that SB is NOT a FAD diet nor is it low carb.

Congrats to all the losers this week! Fillese, Talitha, Melf, Gator, and Missy! You all are doing great. For the rest of us, hang in there and take it one day at a time and it WILL come.

Welcome Linda! Nice to meet ya. I hope that this way of eating works well for you. I've been eating this way for about 3 years. It works and is doable. Your daughter is a blessing. I'm glad she told you about the board.

Hi Everyone -

Thank goodness the board is up and running again! Thanks Suzanne for all of your hard work and dedication. Like everything else in life, you don't know what you have until it's gone . . .

Eating has been very good these least few days. I have managed to stay OP the last 3 days and have been drinking plenty of H2O. I worked out yesterday and am hoping to do so again either tonight or tomorrow morning.

It has been cold here . . . very cold. Today it is about 13 degrees. I wonder how our football team will do in their game Saturday night? Or should I say, I wonder how the fans will be able to sit through the game in the below zero degrees that they are predicting? If I can get you a ticket BOB, would you like to come?

TALITHA: I hope that you are feeling better soon. I'm sure that running around all weekend getting the cafe up and operating, while not eating breakfast and lunch for two days had a lot to do with your relapse. You more than likely ran yourself down without the food intake that is needed for energy. I only talk like an expert b/c I have done the same thing myself many, many times! I hope that you are doing better and that the last few days of rest and consumption of breakfast and lunch are helping!

PANCHO: Hope that babysitting went well. I too will be paying back a favor on Saturday while I watch my 2 year old niece and her 3 month old brother!

HEART: Congrats on your weight loss and staying OP! Keep up the good work!

COUNTRY: (((((Hug)))))) Hang in there g/f - it is never easy, is it? Perhaps stepping on the scale and seeing the numbers was the best thing for you, as frustrating, angry and disappointing as it was. Now you know where you are, where you have to go and what to do to get there. You can do it . . . we all have faith in you!

LINDA: Welcome to the board! From the little communication I have had with Cheryl, I can tell that you raised a wonderful daughter! Good luck getting started with SB and as I'm sure Cheryl told you - any questions, just ask!

MISSY: Congrats on your great week so far! You should be very proud of the weight loss and staying OP!

I know that I'm forgetting a lot of people and I apologize. Now that the board is up and running, I'll try to get to you all later today ;)

Have a good one . . . and stay warm!

Hi,

Gotta to run to my meeting, just wanted to catch up on the posts from last night and this morning.

Teensy, I hope while you were int own, you got stocked up on groceries. With all that snow know telling when you will get out. But you all are probably sued to it. If we got that much we would not get out for weeks. Stay warm.

Fruit, You go girl. Water, fat, who cares what it is, it's gone. WTG on passing up the goodies. Sending good thoughts for the Dr.'s visit.

Heart, those pounds will come off and when you gt back to exercising they will come off quicker. Good going on your eating.

Bob,

Pancho, you won't want to go to the bars alone, it is away from Opryland. Maybe take a sitter with you for night time.

Littlestar, welcome. You are jumping right in there. Good luck.

Suzy, the first 3 days are the hardest, now you are back in the swing of things. Good luck.

Eating is still going good. I'm getting bummed about the lack of execise, but will talk to the PT guy today and see what I can do. My back feels great, but I know that is misleading.

Be back around lunch I hope.

Good morning everyone!
The sun is out, but it's a frigid 14 degrees. I had to dig out my hat this morning, my poor ears just get too cold!
We had leftover chinese food last night, not too bad. Not sure what to make tonight yet. I should get my crockpot out this week and make stew for dinner one night. I also have scrapbooking tonight(a bunch of people come over and we put our pics in albums).
Melf - thanks for the encouragement. I don't think 3 # for vacation is bad either. I'll just keep on working on getting it down some more. I have every confidence that this will work for me over the long haul. Your 1# loss is great! One less pound to carry around! And anything down is a good thing.

Cherylco - I sympathize with the portion control problem. That's an issue for me too. I always have to remind myself, no seconds!

JackK - Deb's MM hit home for me too. And not just for food either. I'm going implementing it all through my life.

Gator - I find that healthy snacks really help keep me from eating poorly.

litlestarr - Welcome! And good for you! SB is a great WOE, I know thta it's been working for me. Good luck!

Have a great day everyone!!

Back on the Boards. What a relief. Eating has been really good since Tuesday when I decided to MAKE BREAKFAST!! Now that I've had breakfast for 3 days in a row, I'm feeling backin the swing...
Yesterday's eating.
B- Breakfast Burrito (WW Tortilla and left over Steak/SPinach omlette)
S: Honeydew and Canteloup
L: Salad with muenster cheese and roasted chicken
S: Cashews (probobly too many )
D: Left over Beef Stroganoff 9 I swear that stuff keeps growing. I may never be rid of it!!)
Late Night CHeat: read below :(

We were back to normal with our Wed night Small Group last night. I put out some left over goodies from NYE that HAD to get out of my house. White chocolate covered Chex Mix and Shortbread from Harod's in England. I just didn't need the temptation in the house. I did sneak one handful of the chex mix, but I'm not going to beat myself up over it. That's just proof that getting everyone to eat it for me was the right thing to do.

I made breakfast again this morning. French toast. I used the Agave as syrup for the first time. Yummmmm!!! Travis even loved it. He has really been into the SB food again. I'm sending his lunch and snacks to work with him every day, and making him walk with me at least 2x a week. It's even good for us to hve the time together. You all know how busy I am.

ANyway. I've got some errands to do, and have to work from 3:30 to 8:00. I haven't worked in almost a month. This job is on artificial nail products, so should be very interesting. IT's for the next 2 weeks, but only thurs, fri and sat.

Woodfrogs- BRRRRR!!!! That is really cold. I was looking through y crock pot recipies this AM. I hardly ever use it, but was just in the mood to find something easy. Since I'll be working late, Trav and Selah will surely need to eat before I get home.

Cherylco- I've been eating mostly OP, but I know my portions are way off, too.

Litlestarr- Good for you!!!! Your daughter is great!! Can't wait to get to know you better. I am trying to get my mom to do the Discovery Challengewith me.

Don't have time to get to everyone. Too much to do
:(

Talitha - What are you doing with artificial nail products? I'm always curious about stuff like that, even though I'm strictly a natural nail girl...I do love getting a pedicure though!
How great that Trav has been getting into SB foods, I wish I could get my husband to change over. He seems to think all he needs is more exercise, but the junk he eats...oh well!
Oh well, back to work.

Hey! I guess we are back up and running again!

Sent an email to everyone this morning, but thought I'd pop in for a quick hello this afternoon.

It sounds like everyone is doing pretty well getting back on track after the holidays. Today, I've had:

1/3 cup oatmeal and 2/3 cups milk (w/agave and cinammon)
1 apple with peanut butter

I ate my snack for lunch because I'm headed out in a few minutes and will hit the salad bar at Ruby Tuesdays for a late lunch. I'm thinking some quality protein for dinner--like salmon.

I read something in this months Prevention that has been very helpful to me this week. I was going to save it for a Tuesday tip--but hey--we can consume a lot of calories between now and Tuesday! So here goes--

To distinguish head hunger from body hunger (real hunger), try to rate your body hunger on a scale from one to 10 (1 being you'll eat anything not nailed down and 10 being you are so stuffed that you are in danger of exploding). 5 would mean you are neither hungry or full. Only eat when you rate the body hunger below five (but before you get to one or two). Try to guage your fullness while you are eating and try to stop when you hit 7 or 8.

Like I said, I've been doing this over the past few days and it really seems to help.

Yes I live in Bridgeport. Hartford is like maybe an hour away.

I am po'd at myself for gaining 9 pounds. I mean
#1 It's obvious that eating off plan is how I got fat in the first place
#2 Eating legal I lose
Do'h! Can't be any simpler than that.
I cannot eat foods off plan on a regular basis because then sugar cravings come back.
It was hard for me last week to kick the bad habits again. Just do it one food at a time and you get back on track.

Good morning gang.....still morning here anyway!

I tried to get on the board last night and got that same error message! Anyone else seen this message??

Well, we got a bunch more snow last night and this morning. Dh is very sick and went into the drs. So....good wife that I am, I got busy and shoveled the walks and a path to the shop. :D It will save him some work anyway.

Something funny.....I went out to the refrigerator in the shop to bring in some apples......with our minus 23 degree temperatures that we had for a few days.... everything in there was froze!! I am talking eggs, apples, lettuce, red peppers! Why wouldn't it keep it at the temp that the refer was set at?? I don't know why this happened but it did!!

I am doing good on my eating. I have kept my fat intake down, and also my starches. I am not going to weigh til Wednesday since I am just getting done with TOM. So hope it will be back down to normal.

Fruit-- Yes, you can do it. One incident at a time.....one day at a time. Each time you pass on something forbidden.....you get stronger, and it gets easier!! You are doing super. Good luck at the Dr!! Hope it is good news for you!!

Heart-- I like your advice to Country....yes, we can do it! We know how.....we just have to do it!!

BOB- Hello!!

Pancho-- I steam clean mine all the time. With the dogs, I have to. I know what you mean about the water color!! It is disgusting even when done alot. Like dh says.....carpets are the dirtiest thing in a house!!

Littlestar-- Welcome to SB! This is a great way to eat, and a great place to be. Very knowledgeable people here to answer your questions, and just plain old support when you need it!!

Jack-k-- Yes, we get pretty used to it. We don't go alot in the winter anyways so it is no big deal. Not like we have to get up and go to work anymore!! That was a pain!! Got a few more inches this morning!

Talitha-- Sounds like you are doing great.....and you are right not to beat yourself up over the Chex mix. This is FOR LIFE! We have to make it doable!! French toast sound great, but I am going to hold off for a while yet!!

Fillise-- Thanks for the tip! I can use all the help I can get on some days!!

Okay gang....be back tonight if the board will let me!!

Hi everybody!!! It's been gray and cold here for days and the sun is finally out this afternoon. Hooray! My sausage was yummy last night, made some sauteed cabbage to go with it. Probably make meatloaf tonight or maybe chili.

We actually got a call from Jordan last night. I was surprised to hear from him, we really didn't think we'd hear anything until the week-end. He thought his training was supposed to start right away but he got picked for guard duty for the next 2 weeks. He wasn't real excited about that, I think it's pretty boring stuff, but it was good to hear from him.

Teensy-gosh are you guys finally thawing out yet? Yikes, everything frozen? I guess when it's that cold for that long.....

Missy-wtg on passing on all those goodies. You're doing great, keep up the good work. I'm with Jackie, 4 pounds is 4 pounds.

Heart-Good job getting back on track. Girl, I know exactly where you are.

Nat-I watched that low-carb also. I even heard on CNN yesterday that some NY McDonalds are going to offering different dietary choices, low-carb, low-fat, etc.

Suzy-Stay warm!!

Woodfrog-Scrapbooking! I wish I lived near you. I want to start a Marine scrapbook for Jordan and I don't even know where to start. Any suggestions?

Talitha-I threw a pork roast in the crockpot the other day with some season salt, black pepper and garlic and a can of cream of mushroom soup. Threw in some brown rice when I got home, yummy!!!

Well, I'm sure I missed somebody or something, so sorry if it was you.

Everybody have a great one!!

Just got back form the Dr. Got my epideral. It was a little most uncomfortable today. Not too bad though.I start a spinal therapy Monday morning. DD went to the Dr and has a raw throat and swollen tonsils. At least it's not the flu, sinus infection or strep. Gave her some antibiotics so she should be well in time to go back to school.

Fillise, thanks for the tip. Sounds good. Ususally when I'm stuffing, I'm not thinking. Really, it is a good idea to be more conscience of how much you are eating.

Talitha, that chex mix is what started my downfall. I never want to see that stuff again. WTG on getting rid of it.

Woodfrogs, there arelots of cookbooks out there just for crockpots and some web sites too. I love to use mine. The inside of my nose was freezing last night. Now that's cold.

Teensy, with those temps and snow, I would imagine everything is frozen. Do you thinkit will be any good when it thaws out?

Sef, you are running wild again. Don't wear yourself out.

Yellow, how nice you got to hear from Jordan. A girl that I meet with every 2 weeks son left for Iraq yestrday for 6 months. I can't even imagine how she functions while he is gone. I think guard duty would make a mom happy.

Don't have anything layed out for dinner. Thursdays we ususally go out with friends but haven't heard anything. Maybe we will go get some soup somewhere DD wants. I think I need to go home and rest anyway.

We have our monthly safty give away tomorrow. This time it is @ 7:30 so I have to pick up 20 dozen Krispy Kreme do-nuts at 6:30. Didn't really want to get started that early, but no choice. Probably won't have time to eat before I leave. That wonderful smell will drive me crazy. I will have to bring bf to work with me.

Just about time to head home. Haven't accomplished much today. Our phones were out almost all day, so not much got done. Have a great OP evening.

I'm so lost as to where to start posting so I'll just start new. I'm doing great with my eating. And having a little trouble getting all my water in. I'm working on that really hard today. Its been so cold I've been tons of green tea. Hope that helps me. I can't believe my DH and I are doing so well. Today I had a cheese and avocado omelet for breakfast, lunch was fresh vegetables and dip with a fruit salad. Tonight I'm having steak, mushrooms, a salad and a green vegetable. Maybe the last of the fruit salad. Right now I think I'll go get a few slices of cheese. Hope the board stays up. Thanks Suzanne for all the hard work.....

Hi all!
I'm glad to see the boards back up and running. Hopefully that will be the last problem!
I sent an email to the group earlier but I'll post too. I shared some information about this whole mad cow scare. Here's my email:
I have some thoughts on the whole Mad Cow thing. WARNING: the following is somewhat graphic. My husband is a meat
scientist. He says the whole thing is a farce and extremely unlikely that a person could "catch" the disease. The disease can only be spread to humans through brain matter from the infected cow, so a slaughtered cow's brain stem would have to have been severed in the slaughtering process and contaminated the meat. AND that is NOT how a cow is slaughtered. Just don't
eat any cow brains and you'll be cool. I don't know if any of that will ease minds, but I hope so. And Fillise is right, venison
chili is AWESOME! I make all my chili with it. And sometimes I do half venison, half elk.
I am still so proud of myself for how great I'm doing on program! (pat on back) I feel very strong and ready to stick with
this! I hope everyone's doing great!
Today has been another great day for me. No cravings and I feel great.
Everyone have a great evening!

Hey pals!

I had another wonderful day on plan today. I even had pizza for supper. A local pizza place makes a SB pizza so we went there. I had 2 1/2 pieces - it was yummy!

The scales were nice again today. I was at 287.5! woohoo! I can't wait to get back to at least 250 - I feel better at that weight even though I'm still 80 pounds over weight! haha!

My doctor visit went well. I just love my new specialist! She is so awesome. I think the thing I love the most about her is that she has never commented on my weight. I hated my last specialist for that - that jackass - he acted as though I didn't have a scale or mirror at home! All he did was make me feel bad about myself! I did some more exploratory bloodwork today and I go back for some fasting bloodwork on ML King day when I'm off of school. After that, the plan is I go back in March to discuss the route that we will take for getting pregnant. In the past I've been put on Clomid and I was pregnant within 2 months. That's the longest it ever took. I told her that I would like for it to be at the end of the school year/early summer. That way, I can be put on bedrest with no regret about missing a lot of school, etc. I don't need any extra stress. So, she said Sounds Great! We'll start in April. I told her that I was back on SB and I'll try to take off as much weight as possible between now and then. She even gave me the name of a nutritionist in New Orleans that may be helpful to me. So, do y'all think I should just get on Clomid which has a low rate chance of multiples or get on something stronger so that I can have twins or triplets?! I'd love twins....not sure about triplets!

Ok, well, I'm off to bed....have a great day tomorrow - TGIF!

Didn't even get any Ebay stuff up, well, just one item, but not been able to get going on here as I want. Have bids on a few things, sold a T-shirt today - whopee, $7.99:rolleyes: Have to work on getting this done!!

Glad the boards are back, though I don't see the quick reply board at the bottom of the page anymore- is anyone seeing it?

How bout that.....I got here tonight!!

Dr said Dh has a severe sinus infection, and it is draining down the back of his throat. Also his lungs are cloudy. Put him on some antibiotics and a nasal spray. Hope this helps....men are such babies when they are sick!!

I was totally on plan again today.....and will have all five days of exercise in tomorrow!! Hope the scales are good to me on Wednesday!!

Trish-- That sausage with cabbage sounds good. I sauteed some cabbage tonight but it sounds better with sausage!! I was very surprised that everything was froze. I checked one day and told dh that it was funny because it actually felt warmer in the refer. Guess it didn't stay that way for long! It is suppose to be in the 30's tomorrow! HEAT WAVE!!

Jack-k-- Good luck with the therapy. Dh went to the Dr today too. His is a sinus infection.....and draining down the back of his throat. He is on antibiotics and a nasal spray. The da** spray was 75.00!! Can you believe that??

Toni-- Hello, it is nice to see you.

Jenn-- Please let me help with that pat on the back!! You are doing super!!

BOB-- Hey girlfriend....how about some pictures?? I want to see you all duded up!! I have just started using make up again too. Isn't it funny how losing weight makes us feel that we want to really look our best!! I think we are going to have to start a soup kitchen for those critters. It is getting awful deep here.

Fruit-- Glad that you like this doctor. It really makes a great difference. What do you think about multiple births....that is the question!!

Deb-- Busy as a bee!! Wish I had half your energy!! Have fun with Lauren, and your friend tomorrow!!

Chrisd--Enjoy your night out!! Sounds like you definitely deserve it!!

Well, I guess that is it for me tonight.....sees you all tomorrow!

Hi, Can someone tell me if Evaporated Can Juice is a no no? It is in a breakfast cereal that looks good otherwise, it has lots of fiber. I read that fiber lowers the GI of a food, does anyone know how much? Also I need a good link to the GI

Thanks!

This forum thing is making me a little :dizzy: . Thank GOd we have email when it is down!! I worked Yesterday so, I missed a lot. Still not feeling well, but functioning. Eating was good yesterday. I was in a fruit mood, so I think I had one to many, but I'm not worried about it.
B: 1 slice WW Frenchtoast with Agave Syrup, 1/2 c plain yougurt with Strawberry All Fruit
S: 1 orange
L: Salad with Ham and cheese, Ranch Dressing
S: 1 apple and some baby carrots
S2: 1 more orange
D: tossed salad and Beef Stroganoff (and that's the end of it!!), 1/2 c SF CHocolate pudding

I got most of my water in, but I forgot to take my water bottle to work, so I was parched the whole time. I will rememver it today.

Pepsi - Unfortunately Evaporated Cane Juice is just another sugar. Does it have more than 3 grams of sugar per serving? Finding cereal can be frustrating. Here are a few I can think of that are SB Legal:
Shredded Wheat
Uncle Sam's Cereal
FIberOne
****Anyone else have some suggestions for Pepsi?

Monet- Are we still on for Monday? How was work this week?

Fruit- I would have to go for a steak. I never get steak. Yummmm!!! Have a great time. It's great to have a DR you like. They are hard to come by.

Bob_ You are right. It has been cold, and I'm dressing for it. ALthough I did leave the house with wet hair one day this week. Big No-no!! Thanks for checking up on me :)
Jen28- Thanks for the info on the Mad Cow disease. My father has been going around thinking of ways that Chic Fil A could use it for advertising - "Don't go for Mad Cows? Eat Happy CHicken!!"

Teensy - Good job on all of the exercise and being OP. You are deffinitely doing great!! I'm sure the scale will say so.

Jack-k The crazy thing is that I know the chex mix always makes me sick, but I ate it anyway.

Selah has a DR Appt in a few minutes. Will post more replies when I get back.

TGIF,

Yeah, another week over. Went to Red Lobster for dinner. I got the blackend Talipia. Never had it before. Seemed to have a tuna texture, not taste though. I had veggies and a salad. They put a wild rice dish onthe plate. I did have a couple bites. And I confess, 1 cheese bisquit. But I stopped at 1. Count that against my starchy carb for the day.

Managed to avoid the do-nut today. In fact, they really didn't smell at all in the car. Guess it was too cold. We got about 2.5" of snow. They were calling for a dusting. roads were clear. Really no problems.

Yesterday our phones were out almost all day, and today our computers were down this morning. Good thing it's Friday.

Toni, you are doing great. Glad to see DH is doing this also. That really helps. Keep up the good work.

Crystle, you hanging in there?

Jenn, you are doing so good. You deserve a pat on the back.

Bob, there is nothing like a litle self pride to pick up your spirits. It will motivate to stay legal too. You want to knock 'em dead don't you? The game was boring. They led by at least 30-40 the whole game. But, of course, Rick was still stomping that foot.

Fruit, I am so proud of you, I am beaming. You are back on track. I was just thinking about that pizza we had in NO. Maybe they would pass on the recipe. So glad you like the Dr. That is so important and rare these days. Go for the twins or tripletts. Get it over all at one time. Seriously, a good friends have twins and they are the cutest things I have ever seen. Wish I would have done that. I fogot to tell you, my PT is a LSU grad. Get a salad and veggies with that chicken or steak.

Deb, good luck to Lauren at her competition. I see the quick reply spot. Have a fun day.

Chris, enjoy your evening out.

Teensy, take care of DH, don't let it go into pneumonia. Youa re doing so wonderful I am jealous of all that exercise. I am biting a the bit to get back into it. Never thought I would say that. DD got an expertorant (sp) and it was $25.00 on it's own. The cost of meds these days.

Talitha, I think Chik-fila had a head start on the mad cow disease with their "Eat More Chicken" advertising with the pic of the cow. I was short on water yesterday too.

Got to get busy before they go down again. Have a great OP Day.

Jackie.

Well, I lost a long post yesterday, so I will try to summarize and finish up on replies. I have been to the gym 3 days this week, and plan to go tomorrow. Britt and I are going to a birthday party at the zoo after I get home; it s/b fun. The weather s/b in the 70's.

litlestar: Welcome & good luck with the challenge. Feel free to ask any questions at any time.

heart: You are a true inspiration. Your pictures will be motivation for many people who are truly ready to make a positive change int heir lives.

Suzy: Way to stay OP. Good luck with the babysitting this weekend.

Jack-K: Hope your back continues to feel better. Did you stay away from the donuts?

Talitha: Good girl on eating breakfast; I am sooo proud of you. Keep up the good work. Glad Travis is sticking with it too.

Teensy: I kept getting messages saying that the provider couldn't find the site yesterday. Once I got on, it was really slow, and then I lost my entire post:mad: . Wow, can't believe that happened with your fridge; that's is a bummer. Men are babies when they are sick. They could never imagine being sick, and still having to feed, change and take care of children too.

Trishaloo: There are so many restaurants jumping on the LC Bandwagon. I heard that Jack-in-the-Box & Carl's Jr are now offering low carb burgers; I think they sell them on lettuce leaves.

fruit: Glad you like your new Dr; that makes all the difference in the world. Best of luck to you on the pregnancy front.

Pepsi: Evaporated cane juice is a sugar, but as long as it falls under the less than 3grams per serving, and you only have one serving, you s/b fine. There are other options with zero sugar, but as long as it is below 3g than you s/b fine. Enjoy!

Well, I better post this before I lose it.

Lane isn't up yet. She had diarrhea pretty bad yesterday, but never threw up and never got a fever. I wonder if it might have been something she ate. It was the worst she ever had...without going in to too much detail, I had to put her in the bathtub after one of her diaper changes...yuck! She and Britt had their booster flu shot on Tuesday, but the ped. ofc said that diarrhea is not a side affect. We'll see how she is doing when she gets up.

I'll check in later.

Take care,
Nat

I have no problem passing up Krispy Cream! It smells good but it's like eating a mouthful of sugar! We had one open here in CT last year and people were sleeping on the sidewalk to get in when they opened! I went with the kids and it's neat watching and the first mouthful was good but after that it was yucky.

Good morning everyone,
Frigid here today, 7 degrees, but no wind. Everything is frozen solid. I could actually go for some snow, then it might warm up a little. All the snow we got in Dec melted away before this cold snap.
Eating yesterday was pretty good. Did have Wendy's for supper, but during the day was OP. Didn't snack either. Drank lots of water. Didn't get to the gym because we went to my sister's to see my Mom who just flew in, and then I had company last night.
Had my egg and cheese on WW toast for breakfast, and I have WW crackers and cheddar for later. Not sure about dinner yet...

Trishaloo - for scrapbooking I contacted a local consultant for Creative Memories. www.creativememories.com They have a consultant locator on their website. My consultant invited me to her house for a personal demo, but if she has a beginner workshop scheduled, that's even better. That way you get to check out the tools, albums, etc and go from there. As a very satisfied customer I can testify to the company having great materials. And you can always add other stuff you might pick up in your local craft store.

JackK - The inside of my nose was freezing this morning too.
It's such a pain when it's this cold. I had the fireplace going last night.

Big Orange Babe - it's always fun to hear about other people's scrapbooks! I try to work on mine once a week in the cooler weather, and when I need to have the AC running in the summer. I usually have friends over and it's social time too.

fruitloupe - You really want to have twins on purpose?? I have twins, it's a lot of hard work and $$. I'm now facing the college expense, they head off in the fall and I'm going to be paying that off for years and years. Good luck, whatever you choose to do!:)

Have a great day everyone, I propbably won't get back here today. After work we're going to the optometrist and have all sorts of other things to do too.

Hi all!

It's snowy and beautiful here in South Central Kentucky! We got about 2.5 inches and I love it. Even though it took me an hour to get to work when it ususally takes about 20 minutes. I htink I've told ya'll before, I live way out in the boonies so I have a good 15 miles to drive on uncleared roads before I get to county roads that they actually plow. Oh well, the scenery was really wonderful so I just enjoyed it as I drove a S-L-O-W 25 mph to avoid ditches. Makes me wish I'd get my butt in gear and get my masters and teaching certificate. All the county schools are closed. Oh well!
I had another good, OP day yesterday. Planning is key! I am disappointed :frown: that I will have to forego jazzercise tonight. I'm afraid the roads will freeze up if I wait to late to get home and DH is out of town and won't get back until late. I'd hate to have to call my uncle to bring the tractor and pull me out of a ditch!
I'm going with my mom and sister shopping and to a movie tomorrow at a big mall in Nashville, so I'll try to do some fast walking around! :dancer:

TALITHA: Happy chickens? That's really hilarious! Your FIL might make some money with that one!

TEENSY: Thanks for the pat on the back! Hope DH feels better soon. I had a sinus infection during CHristmas and I was miserable! My doc gave me a cortizone shot that helped tremendously. I finished my antibiotics yesterday and I feel totally better! But in the mean time, sinus infections SUCK!:stars:

Everyone have a great day!

I JUST GOT THIS AND I'M NOT SURE IF IT IS VALID FOR NOT, BUT THOUGHT I WOULD PASS IT ON. SEEMS LIKE I HAVE SEEN THIS BEFORE.

Phenylpropanolamine (PPA) Information Page

_____

New Item <http://www.fda.gov/cder/graphics/new.gif> The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is taking steps to remove phenylpropanolamine (PPA) from all drug products and has requested that all drug companies discontinue marketing products containing PPA. In addition, FDA has issued a public health advisory <http://www.fda.gov/cder/drug/infopage/ppa/advisory.htm>
concerning phenylpropanolamine. This drug is an ingredient that was used in many over-the-counter (OTC) and prescription cough and cold medications as a decongestant and in OTC weight loss products.

In response to the request made by FDA in November 2000, many companies have voluntarily reformulated and are continuing to reformulate their products to exclude PPA while FDA proceeds with the regulatory process necessary to remove PPA from the market.

We have received numerous requests for a list of products containing PPA.
Since companies continue to reformulate their products, FDA is not maintaining a comprehensive, updated list of products that still contain PPA. FDA is aware of emails circulating widely that list many products allegedly containing PPA. These emails, however, generally contain dated and inaccurate information and should be ignored.

The FDA recommends that consumers read the labels of OTC drug products to determine if the product contains PPA. The Agency believes this to be the most accurate method for determining the PPA content of OTC products rather than providing an incomplete or out-of-date list of products that may have already been reformulated and no longer contain PPA. New Item <http://www.fda.gov/cder/graphics/new.gif> (Introduction updated

Scientists at Yale University School of Medicine recently issued a report
entitled " Phenylpropanolamine & Risk of Hemorrhagic Stroke: Final
Report
of the Hemorrhagic Stroke Project
<http://www.fda.gov/ohrms/dockets/ac/00/backgrd/3647b1_tab19.doc>."
This
study reports that taking PPA increases the risk of hemorrhagic stroke (bleeding into the brain or into tissue surrounding the brain) in women.
Men may also be at risk. Although the risk of hemorrhagic stroke is very low, FDA recommends that consumers not use any products that contain PPA.

FDA's Nonprescription Drugs Advisory Committee recently discussed this Yale study along with additional information on phenylpropanolamine. The Advisory Committee determined that there is an association between PPA and hemorrhagic stroke. It recommended that PPA be considered not safe for over-the-counter use.

Thank you all for such a nice greeting. I really have not gone on SB yet, trying to clear out kitchen. I just can't throw out the box of corn flakes and the Pepperridge farm cinnamon swirl bread. But I'm trying to cut back and drink more water. I have this love of ice cream esp. coffee ice cream. I like a dish at night. Now I realize this is not a good thing. So have not done that for the past few nights either.

I'll be happy if I can lose about 20 pounds. I had throat cancer. From smoking. Had my voice box removed. Before the cancer was found I was losing weight and was real happy.

Background. I was never obese but never skinny. Through 5 kids I kept a decent weight losing the baby weight after the birth. After I quit smoking over 4 years ago, I of course gained. Then 2 years ago I was getting horse, and started to lose.

But it was not good, it was cancer:(

So now Dr gave me a good report on the cancer. I gained the 20 pounds I'd lost. Of course the dr is happy but at 170 and 5'2 I'm not. I just want to get down to around 145 to 150 and be able to fit into my clothes and be comfy again.

Now there's just one problem part of me is almost afraid to lose weight. Because losing weight meant cancer. So
:?: I have to go slow and not 'scare" myself. We women can be so wacky.

So I'm no stranger to weight losing, I don't like the word "diet" we have to eat the way we can always eat. I've been on a "diet" most of my life since my late teens. But I've never been "afraid" to lose. Not sure if that makes any sense.

Sorry not used to everyone here yet but someone in FL complained about 40 degrees. I realize that's cold down there but we are in the teens up here in Connecticut and it's hard to work up too much pity for ya all.

love and peac

Hi Everybody,

I'm still here. My account got lost in the crash and Thanks to Suzanne I am able to post again. I do appreciate Suzanne for working so hard to get to board back up again. I was lost without it.

I am not doing too well in starting my SB program and actually staying OP for a whole day at a time. I'm still working at it and am not going to give up. I know I can do this. I am so glad that I found this forum. It is so good to read your posts and to hear that I am not alone out here. I am encouraged enough by reading your posts and knowing that many of you have lost weight with this WOE that I know I can do it too. Hearing your ups and your downs helps too because I know that's the way it goes anytime you make changes in your life.

I wanted to ask about KASHI cereal. It's high in fiber but it also has 7 gms of sugar per serving I think. I read that you shouldn't eat more than 5 gms of sugar per meal. So does this put this out?

It helps too when you post what you are eating then I get an idea of what is ok and what is not.

Thanks for your help.

Morning all!

It's still cold and rainy here, though it is supposed to clear off this afternoon.

I did well on eating yesterday--I was very late (4:00) when I finally made it to Rudy Tuesdays so I had salad bar and brocolli cheddar soup and called it supper. I ate a Tangerine about 7 and was fine for the rest of the evening.

Missy--I'ts so good to hear the positive voice in your post! Sounds like you have a plan! I like the salmon at outback myself. They'll do some nice steamed veggies with it (or a baked SP--just ask for it plain cause they rub brown sugar all over it) and the salad with no croutons. Out back is one of my favorite places on this WOE! I love the steak too!

Littlestar--wlecome to our little corner of the world! I think you have a very valid reason for being suspicious of weight loss, but you know the cancer is gone and and you are losing on purpose! Slow and steady is ALWAYS best!

Jackie--I think that recall was last year. I remember that they took all those drugs off the shelf until they could be reformulated. At any rate it is a good reminder for anyone that has some "old" stuff in their medicine cabnent. You story about the KK's reminds me of a time I was in Louisville for a convention. This was 15 or so years ago and I was living in Iowa at the time where there were no KKs. A group of us had gone out to dinner (and stuffed ourselves) and on the way back we passed a KK with the hot doughnut sign lit. I went across three lanes of traffic to get into the parking lot! I made everyone in the car have a hot doughnut and then we took a couple of dozen back to the hotel for breakfast the next morning! Sign. I dreamed one night that they invented a WW doughnut! I guess you know how badly I'm hooked!

Jenn--Keep you car out of ditches!

BOB--I bet you are getting a lot of compliments--I do too--people are always asking me what I do for my skin and I happily tell them!

Deb--Good luck with the Ebay!

Everyone else--I have to cut this short--got some work that has to be done before lunch.

Everyone have a good OP day!

Susan

Morning everybody. The sun is shining, it's supposed to be a beautiful day here and it's FRIDAY! Does it get any better?

Went home last night and made chili for dinner. I use the Wyck Fowler's 2-Alarm mix. It's great because everything comes in it's own little individually labled packet so you know what and how much you're putting in. I leave out the masa and it was great. Had it with some triscuits (although I really wanted Fritos). Joe's working late tonight so I'll probably have the leftovers for dinner.

Finally got the oven fixed to the tune of $245. Yikes, but at least I have my oven back.

Jack-K - Good for you for staying away from those donuts. I don't really care for them (no really) but the smell is intoxicating.

Toni - Great work staying on track. I love fruit salad. I think I'll make some this week-end. That sounds really good.

Jenn28 - Thanks for the info on MCD. It hasn't slowed me down from eating meat. Never been a big brains fan myself so I guess I'll be fine.

BOB - Yes, I'll be at the big fanfare next month. Wouldn't miss it. Hey maybe you guys could do a BE infomercial for us while we're there.

Missy - So glad the dr visit went well for you. Hey speaking of the big hoop-ti-do next month, are you going to be able to put us all up or do we need to work out hotel arrangements? Outback-they are so accommodating when it comes to substituting stuff. I've also gotten their burger (without the bun) and loaded it up with all the yummy toppings they have. You can have mushrooms or veggies instead of fries.
Deb - No quick reply here either.

ChrisD - Have fun on your night out (but not too much fun).

Teensy - Glad you're finally starting to thaw out. Hope DH starts feeling better soon.

Pancho - Have fun at the zoo.

Cherylco - Loved the funnie.

Woodfrog - Thanks for the scrapbook info. I went into Hobby Lobby the other day to look at their scrapbook start and my head started spinning, there was so much stuff. I had no idea!

Gotta run and try to get some work done (yeah right) or at least look like I am.

Have a great day everybody!

Trish

HAve a great weekend everyone...happy garage sale-ing to DEB.

TRISH - I looooove Fritos...especially with a little spinach dip...the best!

FILLISIE - I love to go to ruby Tuesdays for there salad bar....its so good.

JACKIE - Good for you passing up the donuts. Now the cheese biscuit last night...I dont think i could of avoided it either...they are so damn good arent they?

DEB - Call me tomorrow if you can..not too early though :) Also...I do have the quick reply at the bottom.

LITTLE STAR - welcome..and good luck..this is the best place to be...with the best people and support your gonna find. I think you can have a little ice cream here and there..as long as you can control it to one serving...which isnt even worth it to me. Maybe DEB or someone else can tell you about the ice cream deal.

PANCHO - Hows Delaney doing now? Any better? ohhh how I know about the bath after a diaper change! LOL

CRYSTLE - How are you doing????

Well Im off to the grocery store...have a good frday everyone! :)

Hello and welcome Littlestar and nice to meet you Changed4Life. I'm finally getting on the board. My goal is to get on earlier next week and not so far behind. Plus get that dang water in. I know its cause its winter and cold I don't want to drink it. But my eating is great. Had a little steak, green beans, mushrooms and a big salad last night for dinner. I'm staying right OP. Tonight DH and I are going out for dinner for our anniversery. I'm planning on having chicken. We haven't been out for awhile and I'm looking forward to it. Didn't get to walk this week because it was so cold but hopeing next week will be better. And the weather man is saying so. Everyone have a great week end....

Ok. You guys are not going to believe this. Some virus downloaded itself onto my CPU. I logged of this AM and walked into the kitchen to do the dishes. A few minutes later I heard Modem noises, as if someone was getting online. Well, it obviously wasn’t Selah. No 12 month old is that advanced!! I walked in and the internet was up and on some soft porn site. I’m horrified. I don’t even surf the web, I stick to the sites that I know. Trav hardly ever uses the CPU, because he has a laptop from work. Anyway, he is bringing a disk home to try to de-bug.

OK, I was really busy this AM and I skipped breakfast again. I’m sooo sorry!!! Please don’t preach at me, I already know. I just had to be at that DR appt, and time got away from me.

Litlestarr- That makes sense to me. Slow and st4eady wins, right? Take your time and we’ll be here for you.

Jenn28 – Yeah, my Dad can make some real knee slappers. You should hear him go off on Saddam!! Thanks for all of the info. That’s pretty scary. I know I have a few of those in my cabinet. I’ll have to take care of that ASAP

Cherylco- Oh my GOD!!! That HAS to be in California. I think I am going to save that as my new Desktop wallpaper. That’s what I think about the cravings, too. I have no problem with how much fruit I ate. If we all were listening to our bodies, we might not be in this shape in the first place, right?

Panch/Trishaloo- So what’s the deal with those low carb burgers? It’s the same thing, you just ask for no bun. I’m more interested in the wraps at subway and stuff. I am waiting for a pizza place around here to come out with the WW crust. That would be heaven.

Jack-k – I actually worked for ChicFilA for 3 years. I was a manager. I’m still addicted to the food. Those ad’s are hilarious. My favorites are “He’s not dinner…He’s my brother…” There are so many good ones

Changed4Life- I have been posting what I eat everyday. We can also all go post our staples. That woulds help you out.

Hello. Just got thru with my 3 mile tape. I went to the exercise class yesterday, but it wasn't great. My heartrate wouldn't stay up because she kept stopping and explaining the moves to the new people. I'm not about to step on the scale today. I woke up all puffy and swollen. Not really sure why either? I may weigh myself tomorrow. Funny how it doesn't take no time at all to put it on, but it takes sooo long to get it off! I was hoping I would have it off by next WIW, but at this rate, just don't know. I need to be stricter with my eating. Yesterday wasn't a good day. The only illegal thing I had was chicken nuggets from Wendy's BUT I ate almost 2 boxes of SF pudding:o Supper was baked chicken legs, salad, and brocolli with Velvetta light cheese. Maybe that's why I'm puffy, the salt from the cheese. I need to get a bath. GOt to go to the grocery store later. Hubby missed 2 days this week, and hasn't had a full day in between, so the bills will get put off this week, and I'll have to take it easy at the store. I'm going to try on a pair of my boot cut jeans that I couldn't button last week due to my weight gain. Wish me luck that they fit, or at least button!

CHRIS- Your little boy is precious!

Pancho- thanks for calling me an inspiration, although at times I feel like just the opposite.

Missy- you're doing so great! I'm really happy for you.

Lunch- big garden salad with Ranch dressing AND a 1 egg sandwich on Nature's Own Wheat n Fiber bread(lower carb.)Sandwich had cheese and mayo on it.

Just a quick check-in since I have to go p/u Britt soon.

I went to Sprouts to get some WW flour & pastry flour, veggies and some meat. I am going to try some new dessert recipes off the board this weekend.

cheryl: Love the Friday Funny!

Jack-K: Thanks so much for the info. I remember some medicines being recalled awhile back due to that ingredient (I think), but I found the info. on the Triaminic interesting since that is all I use. I have all different kinds, and will be calling them on all of them as soon as I can. I won't use it again until I talk to them. Thanks again!

litlestar: Sorry to hear about the cancer; are you in complete remission now? Remember that it wasn't the weight loss that gave you the cancer, but the smoking. Eating a SB way of life will only improve your health and well-being. It will be great to lose the weight, but better to put the best food into your body that you can. Good luck and God Bless.

Changed: It s/b only 3-5 grams of sugar, so the Kashi would not be allowed. There are other cereals out there that are 5g or less, you just have to read the labels. I eat the regular Cheerios in the yellow box, as well as shredded wheat and some other wheat flakes (I can't remember the name of).

Trishaloo: Chili sounds yummy; gotta make some soon. I'd be lost without my oven; so glad you got yours fixed.

chrisd: Lane slept good and has been totally well today (knock on wood). Maybe it was just something she ate.

Toni: Happy Anniversary; enjoy your dinner.

Mountain: Welcome & good luck to you.

Talitha: How frustrating to get a virus without doing anything. These hackers are so far ahead of any program to stop them that we will probably always have to deal with those jerks. I hope nothing was lost or damaged. I guess you just order these burgers low-carb, and they automatically put them on lettuce leaves. I haven't done it yet, and try not to eat out that often, but I think it would be great when travelling. I will post my staples when I have some time later on.

heart: did the jeans fit?

Well gotta go get Britt.

Have a great weekend!!

Take care,
Nat

It's finally FRIDAY afternoon!!!! :cb:

Hope everyone has had a great day. I have once again stayed totally legal. I'm still a bit bummed about having to skip jazzercise tonight, but I guess I'd be more bummed to rweck my car if the roads were slick!
I went to the grocery at lunch. I was amazed at the variety of new SB friendly and low carb products. I guess retailers know when everyone is making resolutions. I've never found many Atkins products at Kroger, but there were tons...muffin mixes, pancake mixes, etc. etc. There were also tons of breads that have "100% Stone Ground Whole Wheat" on them. I've not seen much of that. Bread has been mostly guess work for me. What does everyone think about using Atkins products on this WOE. I checked out the pancake mix and the first ingredient was wheat gluten and I think there was some soy flour. I know this isn't a low carb WOE but it all seems to get so jumbled up. Is there much difference in low carb and low GI?
I found something that I bought to try. It was in the organic food section. It's called Stretch Island Fruit Leather. It's basically a fruit roll up gone wrong. The taste was really very good, but the texture was kind of weird. It was a weak replacement for gummy bears. Ingredients are : apples, pears, strawberries, natural flavors, lemon juice. Seems pretty legal, but I guess it would have the same GI effect as any dried fruit.
Brandon had to go to Illinois for the day so he won't be back until 10 or so. I guess I'll have time to get the weekend cleaning done and over with.

I posted my staples. Great idea TALITHA! Can't wait to see others.

Everyone have a super weekend!!!!

The work day is about over. Yeah.

I told you we have a low carb/no sugar store. I went back in Oct-Nov. Since the first of the year, they have been packed. They did a story on the news about them and how busy they were now. Guess more and more people are doing the low carb thing.

Off to happy hour. Probably will have a glass of wine. Dinner after that. If we go Mexican I will have fajitas with no wrap and I have my homemade chips in my purse. Sure hope we don't get pizza. Unless we go to Bearnos and they now have a low carb pizza (no crust).

Have to clean that house tomorrow. it's a sight. Then we have a birthday party for my great niece. I need to call and see wha theya re having so I can plan my carbs. I am hoping they have white chili. They do that a lot. Our church is having a parrish appreciation dinenr/dance Sat night. We won't go to the dinner, but may go to the dance for awhile for a drink anyway.

No big plans for Sunday. Guess we will get DD redy to head back to school.

cHERYL, all sugar, that's what makes KK do-nut good. I love the choc covered ones. Cute funny.

Woodfrogs, enjoy your visit with your mom.

Jenn, we got about the same amount of snow. Don't be out late when it refreezes and get stuck. Be careful.

Little star, congrats onbeing a cancer survivor. I admire you. Don't be scare of losing wt. Eating the right foods and being healthy is a good way to fight cancer. All those fruits and veggies are good for that. Good luck to you and keep on here for support.

Changed, the old books suggests 3 grams of sugar. I think the new book says 5. There is a Kashi cereal that is ok, but probably not that one. Someone will be able to hlep you. Just take 1 meal at a time and you will get back on track in no time. We are here to help.

Susan, loved your KK story. They can hook you quickly.

Yellow, my niece does scrapbooking. It us really time consuming. They have weekend get togethers and Friday scrapbooking parties. It can get expensive too. I wish I was creative enough to do that. Plus I am very impatient.

Chris, normally DH & I tell the waiter not to bring bread, but DD was with us and she wanted it. I should have told them to bring only 1.

Toni, you are doing good staying OP. Bet you see a nice drop next week. Happy Anniversary. How many years?

Amanda, Welcome. You will get great support and info here. Hoping you get a good start.

Talitha, ChicFila is the only chicken (or nuggets) I like. It is the best. Good idea about the staples. I will have to do it.

Heartmom, I'm so glad the jeans fit. That will boost your morale.

Pancho, let us know how those desserts turn out. Always looking for good things. Glad Lane is not sick.

Deb, I forgot to tell you, or did I? I found Amy's pot pies at Kroger. They don't say ww on the front, but the ingred. say ww flour and contain tofu. I have never eaten tofu, but guess I'll try them. haven't found the Sheltons lately.

Have a great weekend. Let's all stay OP. Talk to you Monday.

My sister told me something interesting last night. She said an apple (whole with peel) was a great snack because it can actually have negative calories. I asked if it was because it has so much fiber. She said so, it's because you can burn more calories trying to eat it than it has! Not sure where she got it, but it makes some sense!

Hey!

Just a quickie! DEB (I have quick reply today but I didn't the other days)

WOOD: Yes I would intentionally have twins or triplets (I know you think I'm crazy! HAHA!) because I've had 6 miscarriages and I have no children. If I can have 2 and then get rid of all of the plumbing I would. That way I won't have to worry about going through all the trauma again. Right now I would at least love to have 1 child - that would be such a blessing for us after all that we have been through.

TRISH: Yes - I'm putting you up girlfriend. I can sleep 11 other than me and Terry. Any more than 11 and we'll have to get rooms at a hotel. But for now, I think we are right at 10 or 11.

Ok - I'm off to lounge in a chair and wait for Terry to get home! I'm pooped! Have a great evening!

Oh my Gawd I found my kitty!!!
He's been missing since November 21st and I've looked all over, posted everywhere and visited the pound at least 2 times a week. I can't even tell how many miles I walked going around the area calling him.

Today when I went to the pound there was a kitty in a cage that had the same markings as Tweakers but he was so skinny and his coat was kinda grayish where my cats was beige. But I leaned over and said "Tweak?" and he meowed. But I wasn't really sure. So I got the pound lady and asked her where the cat came from and told her I thought it was mine. So she asked if mine male or female. I said "neutered male"
She said "Oh, I think this is a female" and opens the cage to look.
Nope, male. So I ask to hold him. As as soon as I get him he crawls up my arm and curls up on my shoulder and starts purring. I burst into tears and start blubbering like a baby because that's what Tweak always did! I was crying and going "Oh my God Tweakers my baby waaaaa"
Like I found a lost kid. These 2 woman in there looked at me like I was nuts LOL
I didn't care.

It was hard to really tell for sure because he has a really heavy thick winter coat that as an indoor cat never had before and he's so thin!
So I brought him home pretty much crying all the way hee hee. When I brought him in the house the dog sniffed the crate and started wagging his tail. I knew for sure it was him then because my dog hates other animals and tries to eat them or barks at them but he was used to Tweak. So once out of the cage he was totally acting like my cat. The only difference is he's scared of the dog now but he was out wandering for almost 6 weeks so maybe he was chased by dogs?

I am like emotionally drained now! All over a cat! But I missed him so much! And I got another cat at the pound a few weeks ago so now there are 2 of them. They are not real friendly with each other and if they can't get along my mom said she's take the new cat so that's good.
SO! That's that! I'm a very happy camper today!

Hi and welcome to the newbies.

BOB--Let me know how to get the samples of the Bare Minerals. I was wondering, though; isn't it basically like loose powder, but just colored and with sun screen. The way they demonstrate that you put it on, it looks just like how you do loose powder. What about keeping your skin moisturized. Don't you have to be pretty strict about putting on moisturizer at night. I have pretty dry skin and I use rouge instead of blush, because the blush looks too powdery and dry whereas the rouge keeps my skin looking "dewey-er." Anyway I'm interested, and glad you are having good results and compliments.

I'm learning more and more about my "blood chemistry" as I read the book I mentioned. I can now see why I was hitting a 4 pm. low and craving anything sweet, such as a cookie and cup of tea. Or why I'd cave in and scarf down a lot of popcorn at the movies. I just wasn't keeping my blood sugar at a good constant level by eating protein often enough. I was letting my blood sugar get low and by then wanted to eat anything in sight. Now I have been trying to have a snack with protein about every 2.5-3 hours. If I even think about being hungry, I have some almonds from the HFS, or some cheese, or a piece of meat. It has really helped. I have been able to eat really "sanely" for this whole week, with no cravings at all.

Food today:
Breakfast--tuna salad with minced onion, celery, and apple with mayo.
Snack, 1 oz pork tenderloin
Lunch: Cup of seafood bisque, cobb salad minus the cheese and eggs (I'm off eggs for alergic reasons right now)
Snack: 10 almonds and cooked spinach
Supper: Crab cake (all crab, except for some peppers and onions, slaw, broccoli, spinach salad.

I haven't weighed in a few days so I have no idea if I'm losing weight. My clothes are not fitting differently, so maybe not. :(

BOB--We're going up to Gainesville tomorrow to watch a BB game--Gators vs. Ewe Tea. Go Gators! Last few times we've been up to Gainesville to watch a game, football or BB, we've seen losses. I hope tomorrow is different!

My French class is pretty interesting. It is an advanced level course, and we watch French films--famous ones--and then discuss them in class. The prof talks totally in French--and the movies have English subtitles. The first film is Jean de Florette, followed by Manon de la source. Two very famous films. I decided to rent the movie to watch it here at home because the English subtitles were very distracting. Unfortunately I still need them to understand what they are saying. They talk so fast and slur their words so it is hard to discipher a language that is still pretty new to me. However, I get so busy reading the subtitles that I can't concentrate on what they are actually saying. So I rented the movie to watch it totally through reading the subtitles and will now watch it a time or two with the subtitles covered up so I can try to understand the spoken words. Fortunately I can understand everything the teacher says in class, but she is enunciating everything pretty clearly and somewhat slowly.

Missy--Go for twins if that is what you have always wanted. Kids are hard work, so triplets might be overwhelming.

Well, I'm tired and am gonna climb in my nice cozy and warm waterbed and read. Probably will study vocabulary. It's cool and rainy here in FL right now, so the bed will feel good.

Jenn28- Not for sure about the apple, but there are foods, called thermic veggies, that consume more calories than they contain. Celery, lettuce, cucumbers, squash, onions, peppers are a few.

Back on the computer! Just trying to unwind before bed. We ate kind of late tonight. Went to Barnhills and I didn't do great, but I didn't do too bad either. I had a chicken thigh(no breasts), and a couple bites of steak, small salad with ranch dressing and a little cheese, turnips, cabbage, green beans and had some kind of SF custard stuff. That was the part I felt kinda guilty about. Just because it's SF, doesn't mean it's legal you know?

Hey Ladies!

I just got back from my night out. At Outback I had a steak and the steamed veges. It was yummy! My steak was a little overcooked but that's ok - it was still good.

After dinner we went to a truckstop near my house that has video poker. Well, we lost but we had fun! While I was there I was talking with one of the girls that works there that we met from going there every now and then. Well, she asked how I was and I told her great and I asked how she was and she said "girl, I've been so depressed, I'm gonna have ANOTHER baby." Well, of course you know I wanted to ***** slap her - but I controlled myself! I asked her how many she had at home and she said 3 - ages 3,4 and 7. So, I told her "Well, you know what causes you to get pregnant don't you?" "Keep those legs closed and it won't happen if you don't want it to!" HAHA! She's 2 months pregnant and she looks 5-6 months pregnant - watch her have twins. So, it figures, someone who works in a truck stop making pennies for pay is now having yet another unwanted baby. I couldn't believe that she said that! But, it's not like she knows my situation - so she didn't know how much that depressed comment pissed me off. That's when I look up and question "WHY?" Why does someone who doesn't even want a child able to have kids?

I know that I have boo-hooed so many times before on here to you all- you are probably sick of it! But, I just can't help it. I'm just slapped in the face with it so much. I got more **** in the mail from enfamil today! I'm about to call them up and tell them off! HAHA!

Well, enough of my complaining about how unfair life is.....I just have to deal with it I guess. I'm just tired of dealing with it...I want a baby and NOW! HA!

Ok - I'll see y'all tomorrow and I promise to be in a better mood!

Good Saturday Morning Everyone:wave:

Life has been hectic around here, to say the least, and it's kept me from getting on the board, when the board was up. And, once again, I'm getting ready to go get ready to go out the door. BUT, I did want to check in and tell you I'm alive and kicking (barely on some days, but breathing nonetheless)

Going to go to a few garage sales, since there are only a few;) Only about a dozen of them. Then I'm heading over to the Falls where they have a Discovery Store to sign up for the challenge. I'm hoping it's not too crowded there when I go - will have to report what happens when I can get back on the computer.

Had to go to a dinner last night with ELI - didn't want to go for many reasons but ended up going - food was good as far as the entree and dessert, yes, dessert, but other parts of the meal sucked - hated having to get dressed up and seem like I enjoyed being there!

LAUREN is getting ready to go for competition today - she was there all day yesterday (not competing then though, just to watch) from 8am-8pm and tonight the same but til 10pm when I have to get her.

MICHAEL has been working on college stuff non-stop as well as homework - he got a letter from the Princeton rep in the area that they will be calling him soon for an optional interview which he wants to do.

ELI, he's still working hard and driving me nuts!!!!

Ebay, I only sold 1 of my 5 items the other day. Today I have 11 items closing. I actually had 12 but someone asked if they could just buy these tapes I had and I obliged, so you could say 12. Of those 11 left I have bids on 8 items, not too bad. I'm hoping that the bids on them will go up at the last minute. I have a bunch of stuff that I need to get up there later today and hope that the computer will be free.

I will try and check in later and see what's going on with you all - hate being out of the loop - drives me batty:fr:

NEWBIES http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign1.jpg Sorry for not being around to give you my proper welcome;) but I'll be "talking" to you soon!!!!!:) You've picked an awesome board with an awesome group of women to become a part of and we're happy you're here:D

Hope all is well - haven't been able to scan the board to see what's going on - hope you all forgive me!!!

Good morning. I hope everyone is having a good weekend. I already confessed to not eating b-fast yesterday. Can you believe me? Here’s my eating for the rest of the day.
B: L
S: baby carrots
L: Ham and bean soup ( I’ll be posting this recipe. It was great!!)
S: 3 triscuits, string cheese
D: “mock potatoes”, cabbage casserole, Chicken strips

We are trying to make Friday night a family/friends night. WE will either have someone over or have a family night. Since I was working until 8pm, I had dinner ready to put in the oven for Trav. It worked out great. Then we watched The Count of Monte Cristo. What a great movie!! We just joined Netflix, and it is awesome. We got our first 3 dvd’s the next day.

Selah’s appointment went well. She’s at 19lbs 2oz now. Buy am I a bad judge. Iwas sure she was at least 21 lbs. Makes sense though, since she is still wearing the 6-9 month clothes. I turned her car seat around on her birthday 2 weeks ago. Now I’m wondering if I should turn it back. It says to keep rear facing until 22 lbs. She’ll be a year and a half before I can turn her around. I hate that.
Do any mom’s out there have any opinions on giving her whole milk? I have been giving her 2%, because that is what we drink, and I have a small antique fridge (It’s red J ) so keeping 2 gallons of different milk would really suck. The Ped. said to give her only whole until she’s 2 , then he said I really don’t have to give her milk at all if I don’t want to. So what would the problem be with 2%. I’m so confused.

DISCOVERY CHALLENGE DAY!! I am meeting my parents and sister, who are doing the challenge with me, at the mall after work. We’ll weigh in and then come back to my house for dinner. I’m making spinach salad and chili. Yumm. After everyone’s talk of venison in chili, I wish I had time to go get some. Maybe another time.

I have rambled too much and don’t have time for replies. Gotta get to work.

Howdy ya'll! I'm hanging in there. Thanks for asking. My monthly came with a vengence this month and I've had a headaches 3 days in a row. Praying I don't get one today. Yesterday I took and advil and walked anyway. The kiddos and I are gonna walk today which will be day 4 of some sort of exercise..yeah! I'm getting my treadmill back from mom because she is not going to us it and I will use it faithfully.

Talitha....the doctors told me to use the whole milk because the little ones need the fat for proper brain growth. I think it's the colesterole(sp) that they actually need. My kiddos ate early so I didn't have to worry we've always used 2 percent milk after I quit nursing.

Jack-K...Hey you! WTG not being tempted by the donuts. Heck, I'm how many miles away and my mouth is watering...and I don't even care for sweets that much...LOL

Deb...what is your ebay handle? Do you go by your email?

LittleStar...hang in there. I understand what you are saying about your fears. It doesn't matter why we have fears but they can get in the way. Praying you will lose nice and steady and feel strong and healthy as the weight comes off.

Forgive me for messing up your name..it was something mountain....WELCOME! Sounds like you are geared up and ready. You will love these ladies. They have helped me through some rough spots this year.

Fruit....I am so sorry for the things that keep bringing your pain to the surface. Praying you get your hearts desire soon. Twins are cool. My nephews are a hoot. They have always been so different. One is tall and one is short. They are going to be 17 this month. It's unbelievable.

Heartmom...woo hoo on the pants fitting again! Doing a goofy looking happy dance for you.

Cherlyco...aww I'm so happy you found your kitty. I remember when we found our cat after being gone a year. It felt GREAT!

Poncho....you are doing great keeping up at the gym..WTG

Gator...awesome on finding a way to beat the munchies. Your french class sounds neat.

Howdy Bob!

Well, phone so I need to scoot. Love and hugs to all.

Good Morning all!

It's still dreary here, but at least it's stopped raining! We just made it through the first week in Jan and I'm already ready for spring!

Someone one the board mentioned pita pizzas last week. I had forgotten about those. I made cheese pita pizza for dinner last night and boy was it good! It satisfied my craving for pizza just fine and was completely legal!

Trish--that chili sounds good!!!! I was thinking about making soup today-it may be Chili.

ChrisD--Ruby Tuesday's is one of my staples! I haven't tried anything on their low card menu yet, but they next time I want fajitas, that's where I'll go because they have WW tortillas.

Toni48--Hope you had a nice anniversary dinner!

Bella--Welcome! Glad to have you with us. Be sure to ask any question you want. This WOE takes a little getting used to (mostly reading labels to discover "hidden" sugars), but is a great and healthy lifestyle!

Talitha--I got the love carb burger at Hardees a while back--it was wrapped in lettuce. I didn't think it was all that good. I hope you get the computer fixed soon--so you have a firewall?

Heart-The Doc said I can go back to the gym in about 10 days, but I think I'm going to wait until the first of Feb because it is so crowded in Jan. By Feb the folks that aren't serious tend to have dropped out and you can actually get on the machines again. Just remember--you were once new in that class too!

Nat--Good to hear from you! Have fun experimenting with the desserts!

Jenn--Yeah after being on this WOE for 3 1/2 years, I'm stunned that food manufacturers are finally canting on. I'm still reading labels though because I'm a little suspicious. Kind of like all those low fat foods they loaded with sugar. I'm wondering what they've snuck into these foods to make then taste good for the mass market.

Jackie--Have a great weekend! We have Amy's at Kroger here--I'll have to check them out.

Missy--I say go for it and take as many kiddies as God sends you! And if you end up with 6 or 7, I'll take one or two off your hands!!!!! (LOL__I know you'd never let one of those precious babies go). I'm praying now is you time!!! On another topic--has the state of LA stopped celebrating yet?

Cheryl--I'm so happy you found your kitty!!!!!! What a sweet story.

Gator--The Bare minerals are not powder--they are crushed minerals. There are no dyes, additives, or preservatives. The color comes from the minerals they use. I know it's hard to believe, but it really isn't a powder (except for the mineral veil). If you touch the minerals they feel like a creme so they don't dry your skin at all. I always use moisturizer (day and night) so I don't do anything differently in that regard. I'll try to Pm you with an email address for some samples.

Deb--Happy hunting at the yard sales!

Crystle--So sorry to hear about your TOM. heh heh heh. I think y'all are going to have to put up with me gloating for a few months when anyone mentions their monthly. Sorry, but I'm doing the happy dance. I hope your headaches get better--they are the pits, I know!

Hmmm, trying to decde what soup to make today. Black bean, chili, or some sort of bisque??????

Have a good Saturday everyone!

Susan

I peed off now! I had this huge post and was about to hit the submit button, and AOL booted me off. Anyway, I went to exercise this morning. It was okay. I don't know if she is going slower or my endurance has improved..but I had to go at a faster pace than that. I'm there to sweat and burn fat! They probably thought I was showing off, oh well. I'm still at 173 this AM. UGH!! I've been doing good other than the other day when I ate chicken nuggets and too much SF pudding. And I have exercised 5 times this week. I know, I need to be patient.

TALITHA- I would keep her on whole milk. At least until she's 2, babies need the extra fat. Boogie is finally on the growth charts. His weight is okay now for his height. At 1 year, I went ahead and put him in the car seat facing the front. He didn't meet the weight requirements. If I waited on that, he would have been 2 1/2 before reaching 22 #'s! Since last year(he's 3 1/2 now), and his last surgery, he's really taken off with his growth and weight. He now weighs 31 1/2 pounds. We've always used higher fat stuff to get him to gain.

MORNING EVERY BUDDY!!! Well at least for 9 more minutes!

It's Saturday, and of course, DEB called and got my arse out of bed! She was at the mall and the line for the Discovery store was all the way out in the parking lot! I convinced her to go home and do it online. On her way, she called me again......she found me one of those coffee makers with the bean grinder for $2 !!!!! WHAT A STEAL....(if it works) I told her to throw it into MY CORNER at her house where she stores things that she picks up for me. Can't wait!!!!

LADIES!!!!! PLEASE LISTEN TO ME....be VERY CAREFUL with your email...I received a TROJAN that my McAfee caught and cleaned, but when suggested that I scan, it found several more! Since I don't know where these came from, I've asked DEBBIE to EXCLUDE me from the email list...not accusing anyone, but since one doesn't know where this particular kind comes from, I just can't be too careful....IF YOU HAVE VIRUS PROTECTION, PLEASE SCAN YOUR HARD DRIVE IMMEDIATELY....you won't be sorry!

I had both INCREDIMAIL and HOT BAR. Even though I paid for the deluxe versions of both, I have removed them from my computer and am taking the loss! I'll miss the extras, but my hard drive is more important to me than fancy email..... LISTEN TO BOB AND SCAN YOURS TODAY!!!!

OK....ONWARD....

GATOR...I see that SUSAN answered your questions about the BE....I swear you won't be sorry you tried this product...my face NEVER felt to good!
As for the game...You know I'm not a ROUND BALL FAN but I'll be forced to hear what's going one because KATE won't miss it!
Have a good time!

SUSAN...Thanks...you can explain that so much better then me!
What's shaking up there today? Hope you and MS BELLE are staying warm...it's cold here today, hasn't even gotten into the 50's yet...no sun!

CHERYL...I'm SO GLAD you found TWEAKERS...I know he's glad to be home...wonder where he's been all this time...did he look like he had been fed at all?

LAURIE...I've been on a steady diet of TYSON chicken nuggets lately...I just love them, and I figure if I don't eat anything else BAD with it that I'm doing ok...haven't gained, unless of course it's from the RUSSELL STOVER FULL SUGARED CHOCOLATE that I've been throwing down my hole! :s:

CRYSTLE...sorry about the headaches...{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}

TALITHA....GOOD LUCK AT THE DISCOVERY STORE....(see my post above)

FRUITY I know that's frustrating for you, but I have a good feeling about this time around...just be patient...IT WILL HAPPEN!!!
Times getting closer and I'm so excited about coming to your house!..Deb told me this morning that MONET isn't going to be able to come, so it will be just me and her on a ROAD TRIP...it might be June before we get there (we're both bad for being noisy) but keep the porch light on....we'll be there!

I'm off to lurk in other places....I've been designated to be the FLUFFY BUTT KICKER over on the WLS board, so I've got to check on my participants.....I didn't get any movies this week, my friend DEBBY at work sent me home with the entire set of the SOPRANOS and I've got to get started on that.....

Here's a little Saturday humor for you....

Little David was in his 5th grade class when the teacher asked the children what their fathers did for a living. All the typical answers came up- fireman, policeman, salesman, doctor, lawyer, etc. David was being uncharacteristically quiet, so the teacher asked him about his father.

"My father's an exotic dancer in a gay cabaret and takes off all his clothes in front of other men and they put money in his underwear. Sometimes, if the offer's really good, he'll go home with some guy and make love with him for money."

The teacher, obviously shaken by this statement, hurriedly set the other children to work on some exercises and took little David aside to ask him, "Is that really true about your father?" "No," said David, "he works for the Bush administration, but I was too embarrassed to say that in front of the other kids."

Fire Destroys Bush Presidential Library

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - A tragic fire on Monday destroyed the personal library of President George W. Bush. Both of his books have been lost.

Presidential spokesman Ari Fleischer said the president was devastated, as he had not finished coloring the second one.

I'm interested in the minerals too. I have really picky skin and nothing ever works well!

BOB I had a few viruses also. My Norton got them though!
And my cat looks like crap! He's so thin!!

So I got up early today and me and my mom drove about an hour to the Discovery store at a mall to join the Discovery Health National Body Challenge!

The store opened at 10:00 am and we got there at 10:00 and there were about 150 people already in line!! I was shocked! But since we drove so far we got in line. Everyone was really nice and it was a fun crowd and the line moved pretty fast. We were all done by 11:30 so it wasn't bad. I usually can't stand to be places like that with huge crowds all going to the same place but it really was a nice bunch of people. So I got my little bag of stuff. It has a baseball hat, a tape measure, a really great journal for food and exercise tracking, chapstick that you can put around your neck, and a trial size Secret. It also came with a 3 month free membership to Bally Total Fitness.
I weighed in at 110 with jeans and sneakers on *sigh*
I'm going to attach a picture of the bag of stuff. I hope this keeps me really motivated!!

Ok I had this for lunch. It was pretty good.
the Turkey and Bacon Melt Wrap, with Monterey cheddar cheese, and the Atkins® -Friendly Wraps, has 11 grams Net Carbs* or less, and the wrap itself, which is made with wheat gluten, cornstarch, oat, sesame flour and soy protein, has only 5 grams Net Carbs
The only bad thing I see is cornstarch?

HiedieHo All!

Today is brighter but still on the brisk side. Made a pot of chili yesterday, just seemed that kind of day. I hate it when it is so damp and cold! I enjoyed keeping up via e-mail. I didn't realize the Board was back up. (Thanks Suzanne!) I had tried so frequently to get on. Now I am so far behind on posts. I will try to skim through. After DD left I am back in swing of things, I never go halfway! Had to take a nap yesterday and was too tired to eat that chili! Just had some cheese and a few crackers I had up here.

FILLISE: Glad you are feeling better. You mentioned swimming indoor pool. The pool I go to is outsoor, altho water is heated. It's OK as long as you stay submerged but when you stick an arm out you feel the briskness!!!

MELF: See above about pool. Glad you are down a #! I am still OP. It is basically because of all of you on the Board! Like the encouragement you just gave me.

JACKK: I didn't talk for the longest time about being on SB, not until the weight loss really started to show. Than people asked and I confessed. Now I am ashamed as I have gained and know it shows but no one has mentioned it. I would be so embarrassed to admit that I went off the wagon for so long. I have been struggling ever since July when things flared up over DD. I am trying to settle down even tho I know she is coming back etc. I just can't stand myself this way. The weight gain is very uncomfortable.

COUNTRY: You said all the things I am feeling. It is negative thinking and we have to overcome that! We will too!

LITTLESTAR: Welcome. You have a wonderful daughter! It's nice that you both will be doing SB. Don't be scared, you know deep down that CA is not caused by weight loss. You will get a lot of support from the wonderful people here.

PEPSI: There's also Kashi cereal, the plain one not the Honey Puffed one. I really like Uncle Sam's cereal. Always want more than allotted serving!

FRUIT: Glad you are pleased with new doctor. Apparently she listens. To go multiple may sound good, but those kind of pregnancies are usually difficult ones even without problems you have had. Might be something to consider. We all know life is not always fair! My sister went through the same thing. They finally adopted. They have two wonderful daughters and now grandchildren. But she always questioned "why me?" God's plans for us are not always our hopes. Glad you are trying to stick to plan again. Me too! We can do it, we did it before, just got waylaid a bit. My DS, DIL, & GD went into N.O. for the excitement before big game. They said it was a bad as NYE celebration. They had a ball! Of course GD was on air because of LSU win! You're not Pissy Missy, just sweet Missy! Looking forward to February!

BELLA: Welcome, you have found new friends.

CHANGED: You too!

CHERYL: I would be the same if anything happened to Bear. I am so attached to that cat it's not funny. I panic if I think he may have gotten out. Usually he's just sleeping somewhere. So glad you had a happy ending!

I know I missed some of you. Not on purpose thought. just trying to remember my read through.

I have a plea. It seems since the holidays began people have eased up on the jokes. For those of you who don't know, I use jokes in my sessions at the nursing home (they love naughty ones too. I don't do raunchy). Please if you have any jokes please send then to me.

Lots of ice skating on today. I'm in heaven. Heck with football.

Thanks to all that responded to my email postings, they were a help in getting back on the wagon.

A couple of FFs:

An elderly man in Phoenix calls his son in New York and says, "I hate to ruin your day, but I have to tell you that your mother and I are divorcing; forty-five years of misery is enough."

"Pop, what are you talking about?" the son screams.

"We can't stand the sight of each other any longer," the old man says. "We're sick of each other, and I'm sick of talking about this, so you call your sister in Chicago and tell her."

Frantic, the son calls his sister, who explodes on the phone. "Like **** they're getting divorced," she shouts, "I'll take care of this."

She calls Phoenix immediately, and screams at the old man, "You are NOT getting divorced. Don't do a single thing until I get there. I'm calling my brother back, and we'll both be there tomorrow. Until then, don't do a thing, DO YOU HEAR ME?" and hangs up.

The old man hangs up his phone and turns to his wife. "Okay," he says, "They're coming for Thanksgiving and paying their own fares."

A BETTER BLONDE JOKE
A group of blondes in a class at Texas A&M University were given the assignment to measure the height of a flagpole. So they went out to the flagpole with ladders and tape measures; and they fell off the ladders, dropped the tape measures and pencils -- the whole thing was just a mess.

An engineering student comes along and sees what they're trying to do. He walks over, pulls the flagpole out of the ground, lays it flat, measures it from end to end, and then gives the measurement to one of the blondes and walks away. After the engineer had gone, one blonde turned to another and laughed: "Isn't that just like a dumb engineer? We're looking for the height and he gives us the length!"

I used to be a blonde before gray set in!

BOB: Thanx for sending me the joke!

Take care

Hi All -

Just a quick note to let you know I haven't frozen yet. This morning it was -2 when I woke up at 6:00 and now (at 7:30 pm) it is 8 degrees! Yahoo! I'm hanging in there, but I FEEL for all those crazy diehard football fans going to the Pats/Titans game tonight. My DH is all pumped up for the game, but frankly, I see myself in a hot bath with a good book and climbing in early.

Eating has been good - tough at times, but have stayed OP for the whole week. TOM is coming Monday and my sweet cravings have diminished somewhat, but every now and then I am just dying for something ooey, gooey and full of sugar! But I have resisted . . . and hope to continue doing so. Went to a friends house last night for dinner and had pasta - but my g.f. is so sweet - she had gotten a box of ww pasta and made some just for me. I was going to just stick with the salad and fix something when I got home - but in the end I didn't have to!

Just a few posts - I haven't been on the boards in a while and frankly, am too tired to go through them all - please forgive me!

CHERYL - I am SO HAPPY that you found your cat! What a great feeling! I'm sure he'll fatten up in no time b/c he'll be so happy that he is home!

DEB - Good luck on ebay. My DH used to sell a bunch of stuff on there a few years ago, but like you has slowed down some. He sold mostly baseball cards and sport memo. that his brother (now deceased) had collected for about 20 years. He did it for my MIL, but now most of the stuff is gone. However, he has always said that you can make some good money at it if you have the time. My sister has been after me to put some of my painting items on and I know that I will - I just have to get my act together. I'm actually thinking of giving her a few items to put on and then giving her a percentage of whatever sells. She has more time than I do :)

BOB - Let me know about the movies - loved your jokes!

TALITHA - Glad that your baby's appointment went well. I always had my kids on whole milk until they were toddlers. Now we have 1% milk - but then again they, are 10 and 7. They also eat a lot of calcium foods to supplement - cheese, yogurt, etc. Hang in there for another year . . . you'll figure out the space thing. Or, you can do what I did - I never bought 2 different kinds (probably for the cost reason and the fact that I would probably be the only one drinking 1%). I would just drink the whole milk for a while, but cut down on my intake. As far as the car seat - I can't remember when I turned mine around. I'm sure it was after they were a year old - but my babies were very small. They weren't even in the 5 percentile until a few years ago! Now my oldest weighs 57 and my youngest weighs 40. Obviously they don't have their mother's metabolism!

BOB--The good guys scored 95, the bad guys scored 57. Go Gators! It was worth the drive up there to see it. :)

Ok, for food today:
Breakfast--one 4 oz. buffalo burger and steamed broccoli, carrots and cauliflower.

Lunch--1 cup ham and cabbage soup. A caesar salad with seared tuna on it. Hot tea.

Snack--1/2 apple, 8 almonds

Supper--7 pork ribs, slowly smoked in a BBQ pit at the best BBQ place between here and Gainesville. A tossed salad with ranch dressing.

I know the pork ribs weren't really great to have, but I hate BBQ chicken. I didn't have any french fries, baked beans, cole slaw, etc. I'm not craving anything yet, but the meat was so sweet, I swear it had a sugar in the rub. Mmmmm.

Fillise--Thanks for the info on the Bare Minerals.

I heard that joke about the beautiful mansion in heaven, but it was about God's house being all decked out in orange and blue. The library joke I heard was about the library at FSU.

Well, it is Coooold here in central FL. In the forties and windy. Blows right through you. So, I'm gonna get comfy in my jammies and watch a French movie.

Bye.

PS. Missy--Don't let the episode with the woman at the truck stop change the great progress you've been doing. This is about YOU, not about her. You have been succeeding, just like the LSU Tigers. So, stick with it. When God brings that baby into your arms, you will be healthier for your perseverance. And that will be better for your baby. Right now you have a wonderful husband, a great life, a home, the ability to go out and and have fun. Celebrate those things, and be joyful in the waiting for the baby that will come in God's timing. I know. I've been there.
BTW, I heard that Saban is trying to get $3 mil. That's outrageous. This is an institute of higher EDUCATION that he works at, but he must be getting the letters NCAA confused with NFL. He's acting like some of the players that go to the NFL. What does everyone there in LA think? Is he ready to walk on water? LOL

Bye again.

Hello ALL!

Sorry I've been away from the board the last couple of days. I was having trouble with my cable connection Thursday it was out most of the day, so I had the cable guy here checking things out & he had to come back Friday, but seems like they go tthe problem fixed. For the money this connection costs me every month, they NEED to get it fixed :D

Have not read the board, so cannot respond to anyone but wanted to check in.

Hey guys just a quick note to be honest and tell you guys that I ATE A BAGEL LAST NIGHT! Ugghh...I went to dinner with some friends...and at about 1am everyone wanted to eat so we stopped at Dunkin Donuts and they all got bagels, so whats a girl to do?? I caved and I ordered one...it was soooo good....and definitely helped the hangover this morning. So there I told you...it makes me feel a little better when i do that! Im good today though, back on track....so I guess right now thats all that matters. Anyway, I hope everyone is having a great weekend.

BOB - I got American Wedding tonight too...didnt get to watch it though...probably will tomorrow night after Sex & the City.

HEART - Thanks for the compliment about Dominic.

TALITHA - I gave Dominic whole milk until he was 2..I give him 1% now because thats what we drink. I always make sure he has at least 8-10oz a day. Thats what my Doc said...all Dr's are different though.

FILISSE - I had no idea that they even had a low carb menu. So the WW torillas are legal ones? thats great!

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Hey everyone!

I just wanted to let you all know that I went to Norm's (the daq. shop) and I drank WATER! woohoo! I ate a club sandwich on wheat too. It was delicious! I was so proud of myself - we stayed there over 3 hours and I wasn't even tempted! What a good feeling!

SEF: Sometimes I just feel like Pissy Missy when I get into my baby slumps. Thanks for the words of encouragement! You are a wonderful friend! I can't wait to see you again in February!

GATOR: It helps so much to have someone that has "been there" to talk to - thanks for all of your great advice. As for my boyfriend Nick Saban....he is staying. They had a press conference today and he will be getting between 2.7 - 3 million a season. The people here love him - I haven't heard anyone complain about the pay yet. I didn't hear that he was wanting that amount of money - I just heard that the university wanted to give him that much so that he wouldn't leave. They had to make his offer sweet. As for what I've heard him say....he's always said - "It's not about the money - he and his family just want to be happy where they are." I know his children are in school and he doesn't want to move them around a whole lot. So, as far as him demanding that amount - I don't know. Everyone here just loves him now - he's a hero - haha! So no one cares I guess!

Ok - I'll check in tomorrow! Have a great night!

Good morning everybody! :-)

I must say it has been an awesome weekend! :-) I hope everybody else's went as well as mine! Even with some aggravating/disappointing news I managed to stay away from my depression food and not let it bring me down. Instead I stuck to my plans and went shopping yesterday to replace the foods in my kitchen. It was so much fun reading labels and learning about the foods that I eat - for once in my life. And I was able to do it without worrying about what people in the store were thinking. (fat girl syndrome)

Hubby bought me the sugar busters book and I actually forced myself to stand at the checkout counter with him. I even asked the clerk where the book was! Yay for me! LOL Any other time I would have scooted quietly out of the store before the clerk could glance at me and pass judgement on the fat girl trying to lose weight LOL Did I mention I have a HUGE self esteem/confidence problem? LOL

BOB & others ~ PC Virus' can come from pop-up windows, desktop themes, etc. I also use Incredimail, please don't let that scare you, it is safe. Also, make sure you have all of the latest Windows Critical Updates. Lots of security flaws in Windows that will allow a virus to plant itself on your PC. Computer repair (amongst other web things) is what I do for a living. Feel free to ask me questions! :-)

Suzy ~ I feel for you, in the cold! Yikes! Was -20 here last night and the night before. I still don't have hot water in my kitchen! :-( Think summery thoughts!)

Ok ~ off to the treadmill ya'll! Thank you to the wonderful WELCOME from everybody! :-)

Good Sunday morning:

DH & Britt went to Home Depot & Fry's, so I thought I'd jump on and say Good Morning!!

I took Britt to a birthday party at the zoo yesterday; it was a beautiful day and we had a great time. They had a little store (like Build-a-Bear workshop) where the kids stuffed their own little animal that they picked out. Britt picked a kitty cat, and it is so cute.

My DS started SB on Monday and has lost 6 1/2 pounds, as of yesterday (so it hadn't even been a full week yet). She has 40-50 to lose so I know her progress will slow eventually, but I think it was just the motivation she needed. She went to the store and bought some WW flour and plans to make some legal cookies today to get her through TOM. She seems real excited about this, and I think she will stick to it. She is, like many, an emotional eater though, and turns to food in a time of crisis. I just hope she picks the legal stuff. If you are reading Aug, ;) .

We made the no-bake chocolate cookies and I didn't care for those. I also made mini cheesecakes, and those turned out good. We will make banana muffins today (for Britt), as well as some legal Peanut Butter cookies, and some legal chocolate walnut cookies. I'll let you know how they turn out. I am just trying to replace all the kids' junk in the house too and have them eat this stuff. It is so much better for everyone; my DH likes the stuff too. So, although I am a busy baker, everyone is benefiting from it.

cheryl: Glad you found your kitty; that must have been such an emotional reunion. Good luck with the challenge. If you are at 110#, you don't need the challenge;) .

fruit: I can so understand your frustration. I remember after my miscarriage, and trying to get pregnant almost 18 months, I took Britt to the ER, and there was a pregnant woman in there with her daughter (who looked like a wreck - hair all matted up, filthy, bare feet, etc...). He mom was pregnant, and kept going outside and smoking. I overheard her on the phone stating that her BF didn't want this baby and that she was to be induced the next day. It really made me angry and made me question God, but I did end up with a beautiful dd, that I love and cherish very much. You will have that baby one day!! It doesn't help to get upset and hold resentment against others though....trust me, I went through it too. Try to clear your mind of all evil, and keep it open to happy thoughts, because that is important to help you reach your goal.

Deb: Missin ya!

Talitha: I always thought the carseat thing was 20# & 1 year. I turned both of my girls around at 11 months because they were too tall and all crammed up. The reason for the whole milk in the second year of life is the fat for brain development. The brain develops the most in the first two years of life, and that fat is crucial to the full development of their brain. I have Lane on Whole Milk, while the rest of us drinks skim milk. Once she turns 2, I will put her on skim milk too. Trust me, she doesn't need the fat; she's a toad:lol: . She is due for her 18 month check up, but I am going to put it off until the flu/cold season subsides a bit. She is not due for any shots, so it won't hurt to hold off. But, at her 15 month check up, she was almost 28 pounds, and 33 inches; at least her height is keeping up with her weight.

Fillise: How are you feeling these days; are you all healed up?

BOB: Thanks for the warning; I'll run my scan today.

Suzy: So nice of your friend to accomodate you with the pasta. Stay warm!!

Melf: Good luck with the challenge.

chrisd: don't beat yourself up over the bagel; you are usually so good.

Mountain: Way to make that commitment!!

I do have to mention that when I was at Wal-Mart, I noticed that at the end cap of their exercise display, they had the Atkins book, South Beach Diet book AND the SugarBusters book. I was surprised, but happy to see it included there.

Well, I better run.

Take care!

GOOD DAY EVERY BUDDY!!!

My neighbor is up on the roof blowing off the Australian pine needles! (gotta love him) I hate those trees...it's now against the law to plant them...you would think the State of FLA would come cut them down! My back yard is full of them! They suck all the moisture out of the ground....

AMANDA...I have all the bells and whistles with Earthlink, and yesterday when I did my updates, my whole set up on my home page reverted back about two years! Even my favorites! Any suggestions?
As for the mail programs...so you think I can reinstall them and be ok?

GATOR....my front page of the Sarasota Herald had GATORS BLOW OUT VOLS!!! I expected that to happen.
Tennessee hasn't had a good BB team in so many years that I've stopped counting...CONGRATS!!!

MISSY ...I'm so excited about coming to your house that I could start packing my panties today! Deb and I talked about our trip last night....:s: We haven't heard anything from the JACKSONVILLE TWINS lately...I really doubt if they come....OH WELL..THEIR LOSS!!!

MELF....that joke you sent is SO THE PAGE FAMILY!! When my cousin's son got married, it was the day of the TN vs FLA football game...yep, you guessed it...his own brother didn't go to the wedding! WHO IN THEIR RIGHT MIND SCHEDULES A WEDDING DURING THE SEC FOOTBALL SEASON??????? Believe me...I passed it along to everyone in my family!

CHRIS....AMERICAN WEDDING was funny, but not as good as I thought it would be....it's one of those...I've seen it, don't care to do it again!
Are you watching MY MAN TODAY AT 1p.m.?????? You know I'm not too much of a pro fan, unless the BUCS or PEYTON are playing!!! TODAY I WILL WATCH!!!

Well...I'm off....

BOB: Start packing those panties girl! It will be here before you know it! I started thinking this morning that I need to start getting the upstairs ready for my company! It is a mess up there - mostly Mardi Gras beads that I will be throwing this year. But, I still need to start so that I'm not rushing at the last minute to get it done!

PANCHO: I know I shouldn't dwell, but after 6 miscarriages it's hard not to. I would have told that woman off at the hospital - those people do not deserve to have children! UGH! It makes me sick! But, I'm trying to be positive and stay on plan....that is what is best for me right now!

Talk to ya soon!

Hey BOB :-)

Two questions.. one, when you say "homepage" are you talking about the page that opens in Internet Explorer? Or your desktop that shows the icons. Two, what version of Windows are you using (98, ME, XP, etc)

Feel free to PM me since this is kinda OT. :-)

Hi All -

Getting ready to some massive cleaning in the house before we go to my nephew's birthday party at 3:00 and thought I would jump on quick now in case I don't have time to later.

It is actually a little warmer today than it was yesterday, but still a little chilly. Everyone is very happy here today with the Pats' win last night. I guess one more to go and if they win next week then it is Superbowl time. Both my DH and youngest son are big Patriots fans, but for some unknown reason to us, my oldest son, Ryan, is a HUGE Greenbay Packers fan. I guess the Packers play their playoff game tonight . . . I can only imagine the excitment and tension that will develop if it ends up Patriots/Packers in the Superbowl . . . Maybe I should take a quick Football101 class before then ;)

BELLAWYNDMOUNTAIN: Congrats on staying OP all weekend! Now with the book and all your "legal" foods - you'll be right on track as the week begins! Keep your chin held high wherever you are . . . people probably don't judge you like you think they do. I don't look at a person as fat/skinny, short/tall, etc. Frankly, I only look at them as nice or mean :) I know that this is an old saying - but it really is the inside that counts. Frankly, (my friends all laugh at me when I say this), but I would rather have a bald, less attractive guy with the best sense of humor and personality, then Mr. Gorgeous with his self-absorbed nose in the air. Personality is what I look for. Before you know it, your pounds are going to come slidding off so fast that you will never duck out of a store again - you'll make excuses to go up to the counter so that everyone can see that all of your hard work has paid off! Keep us posted with your progress!

PANCHO: Sounds like you had fun at the zoo. I'm not sure if Lane went with you to the party or stayed with DH, but I always find that it's nice to spend some one-on-one time with your child. Sometimes things at home/school, etc. are so hectic, that the quality of time seems rushed and confusing. I like days where I can give each of my kids some one-on-one, even if it is at another's child's birthday party! Best of luck to your sister. I need to make myself some legal cookies . . . perhaps that will help me with any temptations I have this week!

CHRISD - One bagel won't kill you - look at it this way - you could have had a donut instead!

Okay - gotta go
Will try and check in tonight, but if not - will do so tomorrow!
Have a great day -
SuzyB

HiedieHo All!

Just got in from church. Have gotten comfy for the rest of the afternoon. Brought some chili up for lunch. I'm really pi--ed at the TV powers that be! Why do they schedule good shows opposite one another? There are two good ice programs on at 3p, I want to watch both and can't get VCR to records one while I watch the other!

SUZY: What a thoughtful friend you have! I do miss the snows we had, but not the shoveling although I used to love doing it when I was younger!

FRUIT: Looking forward to seeing you too. Sorry I think 2.7-3 mil is a lot of money, especially when we rank so low academically in LA. Teachers are supposed to be underpaid, apparaently football coaches aren't! Now if that was for a skating program I might reconsider!!!!!!!!!

BELLA: I think a lot of us have self esteem issues. But we are trying to overcome it with SB!

Time for a cuppa and the newspaper. Also have to gather stuff for tomorrow's NH group. Can you believe I haven't put my schedule to calendar yet? That's another project for today.

DEB: How you doing girl?

Take care

Morning all!

It's finally sunny here--cold but sunny. Still we don't have it nearly as bad as the folks in the northest and northwest and Canada. Hope y'all can stay warm!

Heart--yes, be patient. You are eating well so the weight WILL come off. Just remember it doesn't always do it on our schedule (more's the pity).

Missy--Somehow I think your state is going to be one huge party through Mardi Gras!

BOB--Belle and I are doing fine! Holed up this weekend--this coming Friday I'll hit my six week post-surgery mark, which means I can go back to doing everything full speed. I'd been pretty active this week, but by the time I got to the weekend, I was wiped out. I slept most of yesterday and have bee pretty lazy so far today. Hey now--watch those Bush jokes!!!!!!

Cheryl--Good for you for registering! The dearest Discovery store is 2 hours away from me and there are no Bally fintess centers near here--so no go for me. I'll pm you with the makeup info.

SEF--Brrrrr! You have my admiration for braving the outdoor pool! Don't be ashamed for being human! We all struggle with the weight and we all have to admit it is one area of our lives where we will never be perfect. We just have to rely on making the best decisions we can as often as we can!

SuzyB--Hope you are staying warm! I saw those fools (er, um fans) at the Pats game last night--brrrrr.

Gator--You are welcome! NC State is playing FSU in a little while. I think they are in Gainesville. I tought that burned library was is Tuscaloosa though! LOL!

Melf--Glad you got back online! Good luck with the Discovery challenge.

Chris---Yes, the menu is fairly extensive with WW tortillas and the mashed caulifolwer to substitute for potatoes (haven't tried those yet).

Bella--Good for you in getting the book! I always reread it when I need a little motivational boost!

Nat--I'm doing well--Friday will be six-weeks and I think I'm just about all healed! THanks for asking.

Did anyone see Michelle Kwan skate last night? WOW! I'm working on a MM tidbit based on her skating--tune in tomorrow!

Susan

Made it to church this am & will see the doc again tomorrow. Will be heading back to work this wek finally. Still coughing alot with bronchial spasams but guess I will just have to deal with that for a while.

Gone work on my scrapbook that I'm doing for my DS surprise 35th anniversary party that will be next Sat. Need to get busy with it if I'm going to get it done by then.

I'm back again; two times on Sunday....I must be bored? DH is working outside and I turned on a t.v. show for the girls.

I got wrapped up in the Discovery Channel weight loss challenge. I guess they have done it before. I thought this was a first. It was so fun to watch, although in bits & pieces. There were 6 competitors, and they followed their progress through 16 weeks, and set them up with a personal trainer and nutritionist. They had a full blood workup and doctor evaluation at the beginning and end. It was so fun to watch. I WOULD LOVE IF SOMEONE ON HERE WAS ABLE TO BE ON T.V. AND WE COULD ALL ROOT THEM ON....HOW FUN WOULD THAT BE? I was so excited for all of them. They all made 3 resolutions, and they met them all. They lost a lot of pounds & inches, and a ton of body fat. I was proud for all of them.

I have been a baking fool, and I have tested and tasted every one of the recipes we made. I really loved one that we made. I know I found the recipe on here, but I made a few changes, so I will post it later. I think they were called chocolate walnut clusters. I made them with pecans and added flax meal, and they are so good. They really would fix any chocolate craving. I am sure I will be up a # or 2 tomorrow since I've been eating a lot today. I am going to make chicken parmesan for dinner with a big salad.

My goal is to get to the gym 4x this week, but that always depends on the kids.

fruit: Stay positive, sweetie!!! I'll keep you in my prayers.

Suzy: It was just me & Britt at the party, and it was very nice. DH stayed home with Lane, and they went to Target and to DH's office to pick up some paperwork, so they too had a day just to themselves. After the party, Britt and I spent about an hour at the zoo, and had so much fun together. I love to have that one-on-one time too. I have it with Lane a lot more since Britt goes to school, but it is rare for me & Britt to spend time alone together, unless we go get our hair cut or something. She was my baking buddy today and last night.

Hi to everyone else; enjoy the rest of your evening!!

Take care,
Natalie

Fillise--If the wolfpack is not playing in Raleigh, then they are playing in Tallahassee, where the evil Noles live. Hope y'all give them a lesson in BB.

Here's a good recipe for anyone that loves green beans. I use the frozen "Petit Beans" that you can buy in a big bag at Costco. They are the slim French beans, not sliced but whole. Like the fancy ones you get at expensive restaurants.
Cut up into 1" pieces 3-4 slices of bacon and put into skillet. Turn on heat and start cooking the bacon on medium. Meanwhile, slice one large, preferably sweet, onion lengthwise into slices and add to the bacon in the skillet. Cook until the bacon is mostly done and the onion is softened. Measure out about 4-5 cups of the beans and mix in to the onion-bacon mixture. Add salt to taste and 2T agave. Mix again and pour all into a casserole. Bake, covered, at 350 for about 45 minutes or until done. You don't have to thaw out the beans to make this recipe. I just pour them all in totally frozen. The oven will thaw them out. Cook until you like the texture. Less time for crunchy, more time for "southern" style. Enjoy.

Food today:
B--1 protein shake with strawberries
Lunch--1 turkey sandwich on 1 slice millet bread sliced crosswise, with mayo and lettuce
Snack--1/2 apple, about 20 almonds to stop some cravings that I think the apple brought on. 1/4 oz cheddar cheese.
Dinner--roast chicken with garlic. Green beans.

I just found out that I can get direct TV for $10 per month for some French only channels. I can get the news and a bunch of movies in French. The movie that I rented that we are watching in my class, I can understand it if I read the subtitles, but w/o them, forget it! It's still all greek. :(

Our church just moved into new digs about 4 miles from where we were. There are all kinds of new neighborhoods around our new building. Last Sunday was our first time in the new building, with a sanctuary big enough to hold about 600. Well, there were so many people there this morning, we've already grown out of our space!! Lots of new visitors. Actually, our building is expandable to 1000, but I was amazed to see all the people.

It is cold here, at least to me. Down in the 40's at night. Brrr. Windy today, which makes it seem colder. But it was bright and sunny, so we were in the yard a little.

Have a great evening, everyone, and see ya on next week's board.

Hi all ~

Another good day! I'm so proud of myself LOL Dinner tonight was a great whole wheat pita with lettuce, one slice of lowfat cheese, and two thin slices of chicken breast. As dressing (to replace mayo) I used mild salsa - awesome hehe

Suzy, sef, & Susan ~ Thank you for the words of encouragement! I know that my self esteem with go through the roof once I'm comfortable with myself. :-)

Ok, Here's yesterday's eating. I think I'll post food until wed, and then I'll back off.
B: Uncle Sam's Cereal w/ 2% milk
S: Apple juice (at Church)
L: Chili w/ cheese
S: Triscuits, 4
D: ummm, skipped it at church :(
CHEAT: potatoe chips and dip, not a ton but way more than none.

Do you see what skipping dinner did to me? I'm going to plan my Sunday meals next week so I don't get caught without a meal.

Bella- You are doing so well!!! Keep it up. I bet you have a great WIW(Weigh in Wednesday)!! You should be proud of yourself.

Gator- THat's cool about the DirectTV. I olve watching my Spanish channels. Just stick with it. You'll be able to get it all in no time. I also watch many of my DVD's in spanish or with Spanish subtitles when available. Have you done that?

Pancho- Sounds like a great motivational show. It would be really cool if one of us got on there! Maybe I'll catch it if htey show it again. I have a hard time not tasting when I bake. Last week I made legal Banana Bread, but I ate 1/3 of a loaf on my own the first day!!! Argggjhhhh
