Hi ladies,

Not much news. I'm looking forward to tomorrow, though. Katie is going to babysit Fern, and Neal and I are going to spend the day out. There is a new orchard and craft shop nearby that we want to see. After that we are going out to eat, then to a movie. We need some time together by ourselves with no teens, aging parents or grandkids!

Sunday evening we are having a weiner roast. Just the kids and grandkids, but it will be fun.

I tackled Mount Washmore today and defeated it!!!! :cp: Also, I sorted through my winter clothes to see what I want to keep, and packed up all my summer stuff. Hopefully, all of the summer stuff will be waaaayyy too big next June. :D

What's everyone got planned for the weekend?

TTFN,
Jana

Evening ladies-

Jana---Don't worry, all your stuff WILL be too big by summer! Think positive thoughts. Which reminds me, I need to get to my laundry before I get to lazy and it grows on me.

Well, I went to an accounting tutor today. Spent three hours in the room. I was doing my homework and any question I had, they were there to answer. And they explained stuff to me so much better than my instructor!! What's up with that?? I'm feeling a little bit better about it all.

I watched "Extreme Makeover" last night. Well,,, the last half anyway. Something about that show just catches my interest! I was amazed at how much younger one of the women looked after it was over. Amazing!! And I was a bit shocked to see, that these were the first two women that I've heard of, that didn't get the breast augmentation! (I thought we all wanted to be perky?) Wonder what the show could do for me?? Maybe I better start making a list.....:D

Cristie-Kayecee-Natalie-Beenie-Mel-Michelle-Carree- Who else am I forgetting??? Angie!! I know there are more but....
Hello to you all and I hope we here from you soon. And join the challenge with us!!

Ok... my break is over, time for more studying.

Take Care

Well, how's it going for everyone? I'm sorry I haven't gotten to post in a few days- we had the dreaded parent/teacher conference this week. Actually, since I teach a special program, mine are never that bad. I only have a few parents who show up and they never stay long. I just hate having to stay until 6:00. :nono:

I have just skimmed through the posts from the past few days. Welcome Beenie and Natalie. I really think you'll like it here. It may help to read a few of the past posts and the bios so you'll know a little bit about our background.

Do y'all want to know what I did yesterday? ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! :spin: I was on the committee that does the school calendar last year. I got them in a meeting and said, "You know, it would be really nice to have the day off after parent/teacher conferences." and they bought it!!! So I actually spent an entire day on the couch! Woo Hoo! I feel so lazy! LOL

Well nothing much else happening here. I have to go place my Avon order and DH and I may go to the auction later. Hope y'all have a good Saturday.

Where is everybody today?!? Am I the only poor pitiful soul that has no life? *sigh* It is beginning to storm here, so the birthday party that DS was going to has been cancelled. I think we will all just sit home watching Cops and eating popcorn. :corn:

Somebody is gonna have to tape my mouth shut before I hit 300 pounds! :tape: So far today, :hun: I have had 3 pancakes, 2 tuna fish sandwiches, chicken noodle soup, and half of a peanut butter and jelly sandwich! :rollpin: Aaaarrrrrrgggggghhhhhhh! And we ain't even made it to supper tonight. I think I need a drill seargent living with me. :drill: *sigh* Did anyone notice how many carbs that is? :write: I am giving serious consideration to the Southbeach. If I don't do that, I am gonna cut back as far as I can on carbs starting Monday. I got all of my info about the Southbeach off of the world wide web, so I don't even have to get the book. Somebody give me some motivation. It is almost TOM and I am soooooo bored, lethargic, and unmotivated that it is pitiful. O.k.- enough of the sniveling whine session. :sumo: See y'all later. I think I will go and cry now for no apparent reason. (I am only 36- please tell me my hormones will not get worse!!! Lie if you have to! :sssh: )

Hope everyone is having a great Saturday.

Marti, glad to hear the tutor is helping. I know you will ace the next test! :goodvibes: When I went last year, I found that some of the instructors did not know their jobs at all. The one i had in business math, and business communications was actually a counselor but had gotten a teaching degree when she was in her 20's, she had to be in her 60's. She did not know what she was doing. she wanted a second job and the college was short so took what they could get. They also have teachers who move around. They have a degree in a specific subject and know this but teach another class. Again because the college is short on teachers. So sometimes the teachers are teaching it the way they know it. I have caught a few minutes of one of the extreme makeover shows and isn't it amazing how different they look?! WOW! I told DH I was going to write and see if I can get picked, seriously! ;)

Jana, hope you are having a great time with hubby today!

Kayecee, I wish I could tell you the hormones will get better, but I'm not a good liar! I swear I seem to get worse every month. I have never cried for no reason at all, well except when I was pregnant, but the last few months-whoa! I have to go hide in the bathroom so no one will see me-it's terrible!! :bb: As far as the eating goes, I have found exercising cuts down on the cravings. I can't remember, do you have a treadmill? If so maybe you could get on it instead of going for the food. Or grab a book. For some reason I can't eat and read, especially if it is a good book. I get so involved with some I won't put it down until I am finished reading the whole book. Also, getting on the computer keeps me busy and my mind off of food. Speaking of which I have been on here for quite a while. Hope your day gets better-and STAY out of the kitchen girly!!:nono: Don't make me come over there!:rollpin:

Okay ladies I am outta here for the day. Take care and have a good one EVERYONE!

Hi there ladies-
Today I'm taking my DD to a Halloween Party one of her friends is having. She'll have fun.

Today I have raked the yard (AGAIN--darn leaves---but good excercise) And I did "some" weeding. Only did one side of the house. The weather here is beautiful. Cool crisp air and warm sunshine. My favorite. You get the sunshine, yet it's cool enough to wear cute sweaters. (I'm not one for dressing in little outfits)

Kayecee- I sure wish I had some words of wisdom for you. When TOM is around, our bodies always feels like it needs more food. Why is that??? Hormones!!! And we feel sluggish too. Which is why I went out and did yard work today. (TOM is visiting as we speak!)
I too am thinking of doing a low carb diet of some sort. Which is why I thought of Atkins. I just want to try it out and see what good I get out of it. If I like how I feel (I hear you actually get more energy) I may stay on it. James told me of a store in town that is ALL low carb foods. Why haven't I heard of it before??? I will have to check it out.

Cristi--I told James that I would like to get an extreme makeover. He wanted to know what in the world would I want to do. I'm like "Hello!" I have thighs from **** and a gut that will never leave me! So I guess I don't really need an 'Extreme' makeover...just some liposuction. Already did the bust thing......as you may have noticed in my before and during photos. My sister looked at those and laughed saying "It's amazing how you've lost a lot of weight and it all went to your boobs!!" Wouldn't that be great if that was the case? The one thing I would be frightened of with that show,,, is having all that surgery done in a 6wk. span of time!!

Jana-- How are you doing girl?? Enjoying those babies?? My sister wanted me to watch her little girl...she'll be a year in Jan. and also her neice who is the same age. I couldn't do it because I've been studying so much in my accounting class that I couldn't just drop everything and do it. I felt bad. If she could have given me more of a notice, I probably could have worked something out. That was yesterday... and I'm still feeling guilty about it.

Natalie and Beenie-- where did you two go??? I hope you come back soon. Well Jhanai is waiting for me to do her makeup and hair for the party so I need to get going. You all take care

Marti

Oh my! I got up at 6:00 this morning! I don't ever do that unless I am going to work! (Of course, the time falling back could have a little to do with it! ) DH and the kids are still asleep so it is very peaceful here. ;)

It didn't storm very much. Most of it went north of us. I am hoping that the little black cloud that was hanging over my head left too. :( I hate being down in the dumps for no reason. Thanks for the :grouphug: .

Well, today I am going to clean house and tackle Mount Washmore this morning. My BIL and family are coming down after church. I don't mind him or his wife, but oh, the kids! :fr: It is very apparent that they don't have much supervision at home. I hate to say it, but they act like little wild animals! :tired: My best friend's hubby is preaching at church tonight. I don't ever get to see her as much as I like. She lives about 50 minutes away and it seems as if we can never get together. I think I need about 24 more hours in a day!

Marti- Did DD enjoy the party? I hope you aren't having to study too hard. Atkins just seems too restrictive to me, that's why I am leaning toward the Southbeach. I don't know though, I had success with Slim Fast before. I know, don't y'all beat me up about all the sugar- but it is easy, no thought, no extensive meal planning, no extensive math.... simple. Gotta do something though- visited another site where I had some of my weight stored and realized that I have actually GAINED 10 pounds since January! :faint: At this rate, I should hit 300 in 4-5 more years! :bomb:

Cristi- Sorry, the rollpin had no effect on my raging hormones. After all that I had yesterday, I topped the night off with popcorn, 2 grilled cheese, pork and beans, and a snow cone. I am not usually that bad when I am working. I can't leave my room every 2 seconds for snacks. Maybe from now on my bad hormone day will hit when I am at school. Poor students. :sumo:

Where is everyone else?!? :mag: Jana, I hope you and DH had fun. Beenie and Natalie- come back!

 Why don't we write to Extreme Makeover and ask them to do an all out bonanza with the Jaded Ladies? I think I could use a nip and tuck.... and tuck.... and tuck.... and tuck..... :yikes: I am rambling. :blah: :blah: :blah: See y'all later!

P.S. Marti, your boobs look very nice. (Never thought I'd tell another woman that! LOL) I knew your waist looked a LOT smaller in the after but I didn't know why. My butt will hang on for dear life, but my boobs sink like the Titanic when I try to lose weight. *sigh* Was there much pain in the recovery? (Need to know that for my Extreme Makeover- hee hee)

Marti
10-26-2003, 11:42 AM
   Kayecee-- thanks!   -----:o

Hmm... how much pain did I have? Let's see, I had it done in January of this year, only a couple days after my birthday....the pain felt like I had done 1000 reps in a chest excercise! It was more of a pressure/pain feeling. Does that make sense? I only took two weeks off from work. (and my job consisted of lifting, but a lot of the ladies knew so they wouldn't let me no matter what I tried) I think the only REAL painful part that actually made me tear up was my exhisting stretch marks being stretched and they burned. But it was only one day of that feeling... I went directly to the store and got some cocoa butter. Relieved the pain.....
So my answer is that there was a discomfort for a few days where you just felt like you can't move. (although I had great pain pills so who knows how much pain there really was)

Ok... I'm sure you may all wonder WHY I chose to have this done. Well, of coarse I wanted to be larger for as long as I can remember.... (since I was 18 and I had my son) I was getting tired of wearing all these padded bra's or the water bra (which BTW works wonderfully as long as you fit in it right) and when I went in for a consultation, I was told that my breast were asemetrical... meaning I had two different sized boobs! Of coarse, all women have one size a little larger than the other especially after having kids...but I was a small b-cup in one and a c-cup in the other. No wonder I had such a problem finding a bra that fit!!!! Here I thought they made bra's wrong...one side would swim while the other was snug. SOOOO that just made me want to do the surgery even more.

Ok,,, I just told my life story to the world of 3FC....but I thought that I would share. To this day, only a couple of my family members know I had it done. They may notice something but no one is talking.:D How can you not notice a small going to a large? Nice family to not draw attention to it.

Alrighty then.... I've rambled on about myself more than I intended but hey that's ok.

Need to go eat some breakfast.

Take Care.
Marti

Such a nice little invention! :dizzy: I don't know what they did 100 years ago! Of course, they didn't have things like boob jobs back then! Then again, if you watch reruns of Bonanza and Big Valley, you would think they did. Are there any exercises to perk the things up? Right now, I can touch my toes- without bending over. :o

See what things you miss when the rest of you girls are M.I.A. Y'all better come back and calm us down! :cb: Can you tell that my hormones are going back to normal and I am in a better mood today? :bubbles:

Kayecee, you crack me up! I am glad to see you back as I love your sense of humor! Sorry the rolling pin didn't help. It is hard trying to control anything with those darn hormones raging. I too got up early this morning-I hate the time change.

Marti, okay, so through me in with the ones who didn't notice the boob job. Sorry, I thought it was from you losing weight and the snug fitting top. I can understand you having it done. One of my friends had it done also. she was an A cup and always wanted to be a bit bigger and was going in for a biopsy and thought she would go ahead and have it done. And man did we always hear about it. No one could be around her because it totally went to her head. She loved the attention she thought she was getting. She thought everytime we went somewhere all the guys were looking at her boobs and all we heard was "Did you see that guy looking at my boobs, Did you see that guy looking at my boobs?" I swear every 5 minutes she said this. It got really old fast. She went from an A cup to a B cup and to be honest I really didn't notice a difference, but then I didn't really look at her boobs so... She was in pain for a couple of weeks and what was bad is she had a 2-year-old that always wanted to be held, poor baby. He didn't understand why his mommy couldn't pick him up. But she was pleased with the job the doctor did.

Anyway, not much going on with me today. Went to church this morning and then lunch after. I may do a short walk later, after that I have nothing to do. A very lazy day for me today.

Hi to everyone else, hope everyone is having a good day. TTFN :)

Sorry for being MIA for a few days. Thanks Kay for hunting me down. This week is going to be super busy for me because we are having our annual halloween party on Friday. I spend the entire day yesterday cleaning. Today was a fun day at the pumpkin patch and I've still got to sort through my recipes and create my menu. :?: Will I ever get it done.

I'll be back tomorrow morning! Hello to everyone, I'll be back I promise.

Hey everybody,

Wow! Ya take off for a day and look what happens!

Marti - your boobs do look marvy! Mine are droopy - I tell people I wear a 42 long! :D Is there anything at all I can do to help them, besides increase the muscles behind them???

Kaycee - hon, at least you know when TOM is coming! I hadn't had a visit from Aunt Flo for 16, yes 16, months, then she showed up uninivited! How rude! :dizzy:

Cristi - hope you are enjoying your lazy Sunday. You deserve it!

Natalie - Glad to see you and that you had fun at the pumpkin patch.

To those of you considering the South Beach Diet, it has been referred to as the Healthy Atkins diet. As I said last week, I am going to count WW points, but loosely follow the SB diet. FYI, there is a thread here at 3FC that gives the week 1 and 2 food lists and guidelines. Also recipes.

Neal and I had so much fun yesterday! The movie we saw was Second Hand Lions, and it was so good. It has Micheal Caine, Robert Duvall, Haley joel Osment and Kyra Sedgewick in it. I think you might have to be older to appreciate it, though. And we also went to an orchard and a craft show and out to eat.

Then today the fam came over for the weiner roast and it was all good. I got to cuddle and spoil the grandkids which is what I do best!

Well, I'm off to plan and write down my food for tomorrow!

Toodles,
Jana

Drat!!! Church was cancelled tonight. I was really looking forward to it, too.

Natalie- Girl, I am glad to see you back! Wondered where you were. And to answer your question- no, you will never get it all done! :dizzy:

Jana- All right! Sounds like you had fun! Down here in Arkansas we call it a weenie (not weiner) roast. :flame: LOL And I know that you just HATE to spoil those grandkids! :crossed: Sorry about Aunt Flo- but even more sorry about the 42 long ! (Especially because that's about my size!

Cristi- I am jealous of your lazy day. Well, the little beasties just left!!! :stress: OMG they got here around 3:00 and didn't left until 8:30. It was a constant screamfest and now I have a pounding headache! :headache: They will not mind at all. We had problems with the horse on Friday- we were trying to saddle her and she went nuts- left a big dent in Tim's truck hood- no injuries- nothing major. The first thing the kids did when they got here was spot the horse and make a beeline. I yelled at them to stay away but of course they ignored me. Then I told their dad what had happened and I didn't want them around the horse until it has been here a while. His response? "Oh it looks like they are getting along just fine." :bomb: :hot: :bomb: :hot: Fine for him- I'm the one that would feel awful if they got hurt by my animal (not to mention the lawsuit that I am sure would follow). At least they only come down once a month or so. I couldn't handle it every week. :censored: I know, I know. I am a peacemaker so I just grit my teeth and bare it. I can't stand family friction. (Even if I have a nervous breakdown and high blood pressure) :smug:

Well, gonna go finish watching Tarzan. I am really getting into it. See y'all later.

Angie- Please send Monte over here for some training lessons for Tim! Vacuume? Wash? Cook? Why- don't you know that the little magic maid genie handles all of that while we sleep at night? :genie: If I asked Tim to tackle Mount Washmore I think he might lose his manhood-not to mention half the clothes. His excuse is that he takes care of mowing the lawn and other manly stuff outside. HELLO! It's been raining- it's almost winter- and what are the goats for? Does anyone else have much grass in the yard now? We live in Arkansas not Bermuda. LOL Well enough :soap: - I gotta go wash his dirty socks now. *sigh*

P.S. Congrats on eating well today!

Im trying to get him hockey tickets right now,,,,Detroit RedWings verus Calgary Flames,,,*gulp it will cost me $225. for two tickets.
I bought a George Foreman Grill yesterday on my way home...thats what happens when you work so close to a Walmart! I only paid $59. it came from another store that is being renovated,,,and they shipped all their stuff between all the other stores in the city. Cheap! Considering its the big one,,,and normal price is like a $100. and more.

Evening ladies-

I had just started a post and I did something and lost it!! So let's see if I can try this again!

James and I took Jhanai to the pumpkin patch today. Bought three of them, 120lbs worth! (they're big) The place was crowded!! I've never been there when there were so many people around. We decided not to wait in line for the wagon ride out to the patch, and so I had James grab a wheel barrow and we walked. Can you imagine how he must have felt pushing that barrow around after we put the pumpkins in???:strong: It was a beautiful day! The weather was perfect. Just a perfect fall day.

Jana--
42 long?? Oh my goodness... I was picturing that and I had to laugh,... you would not want to know what I envisioned. Too funny. Besides going in for a lift, the only thing I can suggest to get some perkiness is "Duct tape" I'm told you can use that for everything!! I'm sure there is a book out there somewhere thats titles "101 uses for duct tape" We'll add that one as 102!:D

Angie---what a great guy you have. It's always nice to have someone do things for you when you've been so busy at work. Have you tried your George Foreman?? James got one for his birthday one year, and we used it everyday for weeks!! I love it. We only have the little one, but it's still nice.

Natalie---glad to see that you're still around. I hope decide to join the challenge with us. And join in on some of this crazy talk we've got going on over in the extreme makeover thread. :gossip:

Beenie---Everything ok?? I sure hope to see you soon. We already miss ya.

Michelle and Mel and whoever else.... come back!! You're missing all the chit-chat! :blah: :blah:

Kayecee---we've been yappin back and forth today. It's been fun. Let's do it again next week. Pick another topic to talk about that we can all discuss. It's fun reading.

Ok ladies.... I've got to go rest. Midterm exam tomorrow at 9:00. NOT looking forward to it at all.:stress: I guess I just need to think positive, think of something that'll relax my nerves.

Ok night girls:wave:

Yes Monte used it last night,,,geesh he cleaned all day and made me supper...is he not the best guy?
Wanna hear something funny too? Hes addicted to Ebay,,,probably buying all of Michelles stuff...lol Anyways I don't mind him doing his little shopping, got Tanner a really nice MP3 player for christmas, and he bought me 3 necklaces,,,really fancy looking. I of course had to go buy outfits to match them....lol So I told him the more jewellery he buys me the more clothes I need to match them up. Hes going to get rid of all our stuff on ebay too, which I can say Im really happy about.

Jana, I know what you mean about 42 long,,,,I roll mine up every morning...lol *humming Swing Low.........
I remember talking to a woman once, (skinny woman) and she said you know if you have perky breasts if you can put a pencil under one breast and if falls. I looked her in the eye and said I could probably hide a box of 64 crayons under one breast without dropping anything. This is also the same woman who complained about gaining SO MUCh weight, and being in a size 6 jeans...again I came back with,,,thats my right thigh.
Anyways better run,
Angie

You guys are too funny!!! The 42 is the "around" measurement, sillies, not the LENGTH!!! Those would be some looooong ones! But they are droopy, hence the LONG!! :D

Angie - how're the hands feeling? Hope you enjoy your days off.

Kaycee - Sounds like you had an eventful weekend. Neal is good around the house too. He got the kitchen floor swept, made tea, set out all the paper plates and stuff for the weenie roast while I took a nap. Worked well for me..... lol.

Marti - wow, you got some big pumpkins! Will you paint them or carve them? Duct tape? LOL!! That could work alright!

Gotta run over to Mary's and address shower invitations with her...

Love that one Jana, 42 long! Glad to hear you had a great weekend with hubby & the family. I miss get-togethers with family. It's kind of hard with most of them in Arkansas, it's only a 7 hour drive but not like I can just get in the car and go visit for a day. :(

Kayecee, sorry to hear about your Sunday. My SIL is a screamer and between her and the kids (5 girls) :yikes: She tells them to do something and they look at her and you know they are laughing inside, because they totally ignore her. They turn around and continue doing what they are not supposed to be doing. They are like animals that have been caged up for months and let lose-watch out! :fr: When you see them you think oh they look so sweet! HA!

Angie, boy what a work week you have had. I'm with the others when I say you can send your hubby over here. That is so sweet he is willing to help out. I know too many husbands who think it is the womans job regardless of whether they work or not. I don't work as of yet, but my DH is all too willing to help around the house if I need him too. He does pick up after hisself but I don't ask him to do anything because he works long hours and I know he is tired, even if he says he's not. You made me think of my friend, the one who had the boob job. She wore a size 0-1, yes ladies a size 0-1 and was always talking about needing to lose 10 pounds! I asked her where? She didn't look like she weighed 90 pounds and she was tall. I didn't think they even made a size ) till I went shopping with her.

Wow Marti, those are some BIG pumpkins! Glad you guys had a nice time at the pumpkin patch. Have a good day in school today.

Natalie, glad to see ya back. :)

Well, ladies I hope everyone is having a good day today. I got my walk in early this morning, well part of it. A 2 mile walk at the park and I am going to do another mile on the treadmill and work some with the exercise ball. Anyway, I need to be getting off this thing in a few. Talk to ya later. :)

Marti

Why is there so much talk about which plan is right and which isn't??? I think that is why so many of us are having such a time with our weight.... we listen/read about what's good for you then, we turn around and hear the bad stuff about it. Can't we all just agree on something?? Anyway,,, here is what I read today and I thought I would share.

By Weight Watchers for WeightWatchers.com

No doubt you've heard something recently about carbohydrates and their role in diet and weight loss. A popular fad at the moment is to decrease or eliminate carbohydrates in the hope of losing weight. Unfortunately, that fad is based on nutritional information that is simply incorrect.

With a long history of providing science-based weight-loss programs that are safe, healthy, and focused on the long term, you can count on Weight Watchers to give you sound information. No- and low-carb diets may be the latest "craze" in weight loss, but they've taken the sound idea of cutting back on empty calories and hijacked it into extreme, flawed thinking. The pseudo- science that's making the rounds says things like "only carbs can turn to fat," "how many calories you eat has nothing to do with what you weigh," and "carbs are bad for your health."

Sounds possible, but it's not true. Fact is, any calories eaten beyond what your body burns are stored as body fat.

So how do some people lose weight by following a no- or low-carb diet? A scientific review published in the prestigious Journal of the American Medical Association* answers the question: People following these extreme diets ate fewer calories. Being told to eat unrestricted amounts of one type of food doesn't even begin to make up for what's been cut.

So if you need to cut calories to lose weight, should you cut out all carbs? No! Many carbs -- including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-fat dairy -- provide essential nutrients and are vital to your health and well-being. On the other hand, excess consumption of saturated fat and trans fat has been repeatedly shown to hurt your long-term health. So, although weight loss is an important health goal, finding a smart, healthy way to lose the weight and keep it off is what counts.

Here's to a healthy step on your journey toward long-term weight-loss!

 Well, what ya up to, y'all? O.k.- don't know if I made the right decision today, BUT I finally decided to do the Carbohydrate Addict's plan. I got up this morning and planned out my day then realized that a) the school nurse's daughter got married on Saturday and there would invariably be leftover wedding cake in abundance today b) I had to attend an afternoon meeting at another school where they would definitely have snacks galore and c) mom had invited us to eat spaghetti tonight. Sooooo.... I decided to eat the carbs in moderation today because I knew that there was no way in you-know-where that I could survive the first day of a diet with  on my shoulder. That of course would start the vicious cycle... you blew it.... might as well wait until next Monday.... etc. So I took a deep breath and ate reasonably.

Marti I agree with you. I have been swinging low fat/ low carb for some time now. But pay attention to the last part of that WW article:

"So if you need to cut calories to lose weight, should you cut out all carbs? No! Many carbs -- including fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and non-fat dairy -- provide essential nutrients and are vital to your health and well-being. On the other hand, excess consumption of saturated fat and trans fat has been repeatedly shown to hurt your long-term health."

Uh.... doesn't that sound like the Southbeach... which is low-carb- which is what they were bashing? :dizzy: Fifteen million people hawking fifteen million diets all swearing they are right and everyone else is wrong... it's kinda like religion- I may not totally agree with someone else but if it works for them (and it's not harmful) more power to them! Low-fat/ Low-carb- Makes no difference who you are.... I am just sad that Dr. Atkins died just before he started getting some recognition!

Oops! :soap: Rambling and Mount Washmore when is erupting! I will finish saying hi to everyone in a little while. Sorry.

:censored: I was just typing and boom.. it all disappeared!

Angie Me? Bitter? What on earth would give you that idea? :?: Let's see... Monte cleaned all day AND cooked supper? Why don't you just rub salt in the wound? :p I have a George Foreman- I really like it but forget to use it! 64 Crayons!!! LOL And mine wouldn't be those little crayons- they would be those big, fat kindergarten crayons.! LOL I hope you squished that itty bitty perky thang with your right thigh! :spin:

Marti I love the yapping too! The tutor will pay off- don't sweat it- you're gonna stomp that midterm. :goodvibes :goodvibes (If you aren't sure though and need a crib sheet- print it in tiny letters on your duct tape!) 101 ways ain't even enough to waste time writing a book- I use it at least 592 ways just getting ready in the morning. LOL BTW with all the recent boob talk, I might be a little suspicious of anyone commenting on your really big pumpkins. *snicker*

Jana Sure you meant "around" and not "length". :nose: Actually, that might be pretty handy for someone who likes to multi-task: You could dip your nipples in fingernail polish and have your toenails painted red by the time you walked to the kitchen. :o  I hope you finished all of the invitations- I hate doing that kind of stuff! How is grandmotherhood going?

Cristi Where in Arkansas does your family live? I live in Northeast Arkansas about an hour away from Jonesboro. Congrats on the exercise. Your SIL has 5 kids? And I dread my BIL's two! :faint: My sympathies. I didn't know you could buy a size 0-1 either. My dream is to look like Calista Flockhart- you know, Ally McBeal. Being her size would be wonderful. (Then instead of starving myself, I could pig out :ink: and eat my way UP to Christi Brinkley!)

Where is everyone else?!? :drill: March your butt's back here. (We've got duct tape to fix the jiggles while you're marching!) :^: Night all!

Marti, That would look so cool with the big pumpkins all carved up with lights glowing from evil loooking eyes....Tanner carved our small 15 lb pumpkin the other night, well he painted it then carved some holes for the light to glow from. Last year I bought the coolest bowl from Target,,(last time I was there) ITs huge, it has witches feet on the bottom and then a big pumpkin on top with the words trick or treat smell my feet. The way my house was in Sylvan I used to make the news paper every second year with my halloween decorating. I made little kids cry and big kids shiver.
I knew they made small sizes like that, I once was maid of honour for a friend who was that size. Hated the fact that I was a size 18 at the time...*sigh
My hands are not bad today, but they hurt from all the stratches and bruises. I have horrible hang nails too which I haven't had since the false nails 4 yrs ago.
My SIL got a job at Peir 1, its opening in her neighbhourhood next week so shes been like me.
Well I better run, going to put a roast in the crock pot. Ask Monte to bring home some buns and have beef dip.

Hi Ladies :sunny:

Not much going on. Had errands this morning so haven't had the chance to get in my workout. Today is WATP video and bike ride, plus I will do a mile on the treadmill.

Kayecee, yes my brother and sil have 5 bratty girls! :yikes: My sil after every one said she was having her tubes tied and boom here comes another child. No wonder my brother stays gone a lot! Just kidding, I think. I have three brothers and 2 sisters and between the lot of us when we do get together it is like a circus. Of the 16 nieces & nephews (not counting my 3) there are 11 great nieces & nephews and it gets crazy, but it is fun and a rare occurence. I have a brother & sil in Siloam Springs, and the rest of my family, well, most of them are in Beebe, Cabot and Little Rock/North Little Rock. I have some in Colorado, and CA.

Well, I need to get going. Hi to everyone else, Jana, Marti, Michelle, Angie, Kat, Beenie and Natalie. Hope everyone is having a great day. Take care, ttfn. :flow2:

Okay, Kayecee I was wondering what the heck you were talking about. Thought maybe I missed something somewhere. I went to the bios as I saw BandAid and saw Skew.

Anyway, a big WELCOME to Skew and Bandaid (Alexandria)! Gald to have you ladies aboard and look forward to getting to know you.

Hi ladies,

Welcome to BandAid & Skew!

Marti - the really sad thing is that all these diet gurus are laughing all the way to the bank! I betcha if the Jaded Ladies got together, we could write a diet book! I could do a chapter on finding motivation, you could do the exercise chapter, Kaycee could do recipes, Angie could do a chapter on looking good while losing, Cristi could do one on goal rewards, etc. Now all we need is a publicist! :D

Cristi - do you and your family get together on holidays?

Angie - can your SIL get you a discount at Pier 1? I love that store!

Kaycee - don't you just hate it when you lose a post??? Wow! What a cool way to paint my toenails! I think I'll try that out afterwhile. :D

Hi to the others....

Talk to you tomorrow.

Hello and Welcome to Skew and Bandaid.

Kayecee-- you had me rolling today!! I never even thought of that way to paint the toe nails!! Of coarse, I would have never been able to do it...way to small. But I can stick stuff on my back shelf!! (you know the shelf that appears when the butt get's to big!) I used to tell my friends at work that if they needed to put anything away,,, I got a place for it.:D

Angie--Box of crayons??!!! You ladies had me peeing my pants after reading all this! As I just said,,, I could probably have stashed those crayons on the back shelf!

Jana--I like the idea of writing a book. You have it all down just the way it should be. Now,,,, somebody find that publicist!! I'm in a "Team Building Skills" class and our intructor is having us get into groups of 6 and for our final grade, we have to find something that could possibly make money... and present it to the rest of the class. First day I was like... what the @#!!
But now that we're at week 5... we've got our topic and we have all the info. and are pretty much ready to put it together and present it. We chose to make a informational News Letter for people who have been in prison for some amount of time and are having a difficult time getting back into society because of their background. Sounds crazy doesn't it? I was a bit leery on the whole thing, but one of the girls in the group actually found a place that wants our NewLetter. I was impressed. We'll see how it all goes by the 11th week.

Well, I think I need to go find something to make for dinner.

Hi to Cristi--Natalie--Skew--Bandaid and the rest of the girls!!

You all take.

Marti

Welcome Bandaid! (Uhhhhh..... can't find anything to rhyme with that! :dizzy: ) Hope you'll keep joining us. Hey to Natalie, Beenie, and Skew too. (Can't help myself)

Angie Drat it all- I had a wedding experience similar to that. Unfortunately, not only the bride, but all of the other bridesmaids were like size 3 and under! I had just had my baby boy and was at a size 18 or so too. I was so schizo doing all of the fittings and my hormones were still off kilter. I managed to keep my dress size a secret- barely- the saleswomen were not very helpful in that department. I was sooo freaked out that when one asked me for a shoe size in front of all those itty bitty skeletons and they all popped out with things like 5 or 6, I was a deer in the headlights. I was not gonna admit that this big cow :moo: with all of the post pregancy blubber wore a size 10 shoe at the time and I blurted out 8 1/2 which is what I wore BEFORE 9 months of pregnancy. Talk about the Queen of Denial. I know that everyone in that church watched me dancing around near the bride and wondered, "Why on earth didn't she go pee before marching down the aisle!" :o I just thank God Almighty that we don't dance at the reception around here.

Cristi Sorry, I figured that everyone would see Skew's name on the bio thread, but I didn't realize that Bandaid would post later. :D I am still fanning myself over the 5 kids. My nerves are sooo bad with just my 2 screaming at each other. Remind me not to drink the water around your family. Y'all sound... uhhhh... fertile. LOL

Jana Let's write our diet book right after we do our Extreme Makeover- that way we'll have really good before and after pictures. We can say something like Eat dirt and pick your nose every day for 10 days and you will be magically transformed just like us. The weight just melts off! We're living proof that our diet works! I bet we'll sell a billion copies. We can even include a special chapter on "The Joys of Duct Tape" at no extra charge. Oh, and girls, before the photo shoot, please make sure that you paint your toenails and clear off all the shelves! :snooty:

Marti Newsletter for people who have been in prison for some amount of time, huh? That reminds me- you are NOT in charge of generating publicity ideas for our new book. Actually, as weird as that sounds, I'll bet there is a market out there for that. Now that I have thought about it, I bet it would do pretty good. Do you actually have to follow through and do it for your class? Or do you just have to come up with an idea?

Well, as usual, I have had fun! Night all!

Hello again everyone-

Just popped in for a minute. Kayecee.... you share the same Birthday as James!! Cinco De Mayo babies. What a way to celebrate. Our friends from one of our jobs (yes, James and I worked together at two different companies---met him at the first one) would tell James that they were going to celebrate his birthday and they always told him to join.

Ok.... that's it for tonight. Have to get up early.

 nighty night!!

Kayecee: Yes, m'am. LOL Glad my parents taught me manners. ;)

I think the newsletter is a good idea for prisoners who are transitioning from life on the inside back to society. The recidivism rate is extremely high because most inmates don't know how to function on the outside after being locked up and revert to past behaviors- but then there are those bad eggs that there is just no help and are comfortable in their own hierarchy of prison life. Sad, but true.

Good luck on BTW. :)
