GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!
Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today, the first one is wonderful, the second one you need to read between the lines:
Most likely, you have a good idea of what you would like to do, and what you would like to accomplish. Do you know why? Behind every desire is a reason, and behind every reason is a purpose. Connect your desire with its deepest underlying purpose, and you'll connect with the strength necessary to achieve that desire.
Achievement requires much effort and commitment, time, energy, and persistence. You're absolutely capable of all that and more, when there's a real, meaningful purpose to what you're doing. But without a clear purpose, you're likely to become discouraged, bored, or frustrated into giving up. By contrast, with a strong, driving purpose behind your efforts you'll find a way to work through any challenge.
There is much you can learn from your dreams and desires, even before you begin to reach for them. Understand the reasons and the purpose behind those dreams, and you will gain a better understanding of who you are.
The more you know about yourself and about what drives you, the more effective every effort and every moment will become. Know why, and the road to your dreams will unfold with every step you take.
-- Ralph Marston

FROM WITHIN YOU
Whatever you seek to attain, seek first to attain it within you. Once it is truly within you, it will begin to expand throughout all of your experience. The value you create within you can never be lost. Every improvement you make in the quality of your consciousness will always be with you.
The dreams that you'll make real are the dreams that come from the deepest part of you. Nurture and build them first within you, and they'll become so powerful as to be undeniable.
When that which is within you is strong and meaningful, the positive energy will flow outward and can touch every part of your life. And nothing outside of you can diminish it.
Others can point the way and give encouragement. Yet ultimately, you are responsible for taking good care of your inner life. It is well worth the effort. For whatever you attain within, is surely who you truly are.

A quick good morning!
I have to cook dinner for 40 tonight, so I am going to be one busy Monet! Menu is chicken casserole, green beans, apple cake, tea and water. I think I will throw in some homemade bread as well.
DEB: Make a splash...it will do you good! No one is going to see you, so you shouldn't have a problem. If I can get in my pool and skinny dip, and you KNOW how bad I look, then you can get in your sisters pool with your Roaring 20's bathing costume on! ;)
Everyone have a great day! I hope I can check in later!

Hi All
I was away on business all of last week. While away about 80 of us where I work were told our positions would be eliminated as of 12/31...and we have to reapply for any new positions. Needless to say I am a little stressed. Spent all weekend updating my resume...it's been 14 years since I've had to look. I've already sent in my resume for some of the new positions. I should be ok...I think I am fairly well thought of but you never know when something like this is going on in a company.
I've also had a major case of IBS. It's been going on for over 5 days now and is really bad. I'm hoping that by getting back to eating in my routine I will feel better.
Motivational thought for the day:
"My obligation is to do the right thing...the rest is in God's hands"
BOB: What a football weekend. Can anyone stop Georgia????
FRUIT and Gator: Did you go to the game?
Everyone else...I missed last week and will try to catch up with everyone this week. But as you can see from my messages above...I will be busy looking for a new job :?:

BEACH: I am so sorry you have to deal with all this stress right now! I sure hope it all works out. I can't believe the way companies do things...eliminate all the jobs and make people reapply! Why don't they just move people around? Why stress them out in this way? I bet your IBS is directly connected. Be careful with the carbs. I have read that a low carb diet, like Atkins, can really improve IBS, and some doctors prescribe it for their patients. Perhaps cutting out wheat especially will help. I sometimes have problems with it, and I find cutting out wheat does help me. We are here for you!

Morning Again:wave:
Well, I did it. I went to my sister's pool. Can't say I was comfortable though. Before I even left the house I was squirming. I had one of those short unitards (gray) and it went above my knees. Well, I had flab hanging out:eek: and there was no way to pull the leg down to cover and hold it in. Once I was in the pool I didn't think much about it. I spent about 45-50 minutes in the pool. Thank goodness you don't forget how to swim in time - it's been over 20 years since I've swam. I'll try to go back on Wednesday again.
I'm tired. As you can see I was on the board in the wee hours of the morning. I kept waking up, looking at the clock, lying there, look at the clock-finally got out of bed and came on to post the new weekly board. Tried to go back to sleep and probably got in about 45 minutes before the alarm blasted.
Okay, believe it or not, I have to take this latest microwave back!:fr: The key pad is bubbling! What kind of luck do I have with stuff? I give up! I wish I could have mine fixed!!!
I have a bunch of other stuff to do today so I better get going with my posts before I have to make a run for it...
GRANT, definitely a small world! You have a drive to work each day -ick! I live in W. Kendall. Whereabouts do you work? So I take it you have a really cool accent. ROSALIE is from England originally, if I remember correctly-if I'm wrong, she still has that cool accent!!!:)
FRUIT, so there's still hope I guess! Remember, lay it on thick that he gets not only some great SB FOOD but STARBUCKS as well, not to mention a wife who will be having the time of her life with some of the best people she's ever met or going to met:) I do think highly of everyone, don't I?;)
GATOR, here's a message from MICHAEL:
Quoi faire?!) :P
---Michael
Glad you can understand him!!!
MOM, will e-mail you later:) Was nice talking to you last night. Get any reading done?
MONET, that's one thing I don't like, curry. I can't stand the smell of it. Reminds me of stinky armpits! Have a good day off, even though you are slaving over the stove. I made the plunge - literally!
MAGGIE http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign2.jpg Glad you've decided to join us. For only being on SB for 2 weeks and losing 11 pounds, OMG, that's unbelievable! :bravo: Sounds like you are eating okay as far as the ww items go. Curious to know which ww saltines you've found-Barbaras? SB claims you don't have to count carbs, BUT, then they say approx 40% of your intake should be in the way of carbs, so if you don't keep track, how the heck do they think you'll know? Some things in the book are misleading, contradictory and confusing, but that's what we are here for, to help get through some of those things. Personally, I think keeping a food journal is very helpful in many ways. Love pizza? Why not make your own, you can have the crust made with ww:) Whereabouts in Texas are you? We have so many Texans on this board now - you're in good company:)
BEACH, sounds like you've been busy this past week. I can't believe they are going to make you re-apply for a position in the same company, but then again, when another hospital took over where my Dad had been working for umteen years as a pharmacist, they wanted everyone to re-apply. I'm hoping you will have no problem with the job and will be crossing my fingers for you:cross: Hope you feel better!
Okay kiddos, I'm outta here for the time being. I'll try to get on later today and do another post if the computer is free.

Just found this interesting article on AOL NEWS:
Stomach 'Pacemaker' May Suppress Appetite
By DANIEL Q. HANEY, AP
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (Oct. 12) - A kind of pacemaker for the tummy, an implanted electrical device that fools the body into feeling full, appears to be an effective alternative to radical digestive surgery for helping obese people shed large amounts of weight.
If it proves out in larger studies, the experimental device could offer a new way to help very large people slim down when they cannot lose weight on diets or with appetite-suppressing drugs. Researchers Sunday presented preliminary data on the usefulness of the approach, which has already been tested on 450 people to show its safety.
A surgical team performs gastric bypass surgery. A new experimental device could offer an alternative to the dangerous procedure. (KRT)
Surgical techniques that shrink the stomach and reroute the digestive tract are the only highly reliable way to make obese people lose weight. However, this is major surgery that carries significant risk, including a 1 percent chance of death, and researchers are searching for ways to do the job more safely.
The new device is called an implantable gastric stimulator and is similar to a cardiac pacemaker. But instead of stimulating the heart, this one is attached to the wall of the stomach and is intended to reduce feelings of hunger.
The researchers implanted the devices in 30 obese women and men whose average weight was 242 pounds. Their average body mass index, or BMI, was 42. The healthy cutoff for the height-to-weight ratio is 25; 30 is considered obese.
After a year with the implant, two-thirds of the volunteers had lost weight. The average was an 18 percent drop in their excess weight.
''The results are promising, although we still have a long way to go,'' said Dr. Scott Shikora. ''I believe in my heart this is a very exciting breakthrough in our field.''
Shikora, head of bariatric surgery at Tufts-New England Medical Center in Boston, presented the study in Fort Lauderdale at the annual scientific meeting of the American Association for the Study of Obesity. It was financed by the device's developer, Transneuronix Inc. of Mt. Arlington, N.J.
The system uses an electrical pulse generator, a little larger than a silver dollar, that is placed under the skin in the abdomen and connected to the stomach with two wires. Implanting it takes less than an hour and is done as an outpatient laproscopic procedure.
''These early findings are exciting,'' said Dr. Samuel Klein of Washington University, the obesity association's president. ''This is a potential new approach for the management of obesity that is separate from drugs or surgery.''
The device is already on the market in Europe but is still several years away from Food and Drug Administration approval in the United States. Steven Adler, Transneuronix's executive vice president, said the company hopes in a few months to begin a study on 120 patients that will take two years to complete.
After installing the pacemaker, doctors crank up the power until patients feel unpleasant symptoms, such as nausea or cramps, then turn it down a bit until all sensation disappears.
''They don't feel a buzzing or a pain,'' Shikora said. ''They just don't have an appetite, or they get full very quickly. Some say, 'I don't know what it is. I just eat different now.'''
Weight reduction varied widely. While about one-third in the study lost nothing, some had stunning success. One patient lost 104 percent of her excess weight, meaning she now weighs slightly less than her ideal.
Some have wondered whether the benefits are due to a placebo effect, since patients wanted to lose weight and knew they were being treated. However, one patient's experience suggests not.
After getting the device, she failed for a year and a half to lose weight. Then doctors discovered one of the wires had come loose. After they reattached it, she dropped almost 100 pounds.
''If there was placebo effect, she should have lost weight at the get go, not after 18 months,'' Shikora said.
The device is hooked near the stomach's major nerves. Surgeons are still unsure exactly why it deadens appetite. Possibilities include an impact on the nerves, changes in digestive hormones or direct stimulation of stomach muscles.
So far, there have been no reports of deaths or serious complications resulting from the pacemaker, Shikora said.
Surgery to help people lose weight is now one of the fastest growing operations in the United States and will be done on an estimated 100,000 people this year. About 10 percent of patients have serious complications, such as hemorrhage, pneumonia, infection and blood clots.
"What will they think of next?"

Good Morning to you all. I am happy to report that I stayed on plan the entire weekend while eating out (this is a first in a long time). I got to meet Missy and her husband and JackK for lunch yesterday. It was so nice. They are all FABULOUS. Missy is HYSTERICAL. We definitely need to coax her husband into leeting her host a get together at her house. JackK is super sweet and looks FANTASTIC. (I can't believe she is in her 50's). She is also at my goal weight, so she is inspirational. I will try not to hate her too much.(That would be impossible). Missy's husband was a trooper and didn't roll his eyes even once while we were talking SB. I can't wait to meet more of you!!!!!!!!! I am going to start using my real name(Ashley) on this board, in order to avoid confusion, since we already have a Jackie.
Deb- Good job on the swimming. That's great exercise. I am SURE you are exaggerating the flab in the swimsuit. Be easier on yourself, I am sure you look great!
Beach- I will be thinking of you during this stressful time and hope things work out for the best!
Monet- have a good day. Your menu sounds YUMMY.
Good morning to Colleen, CountryMom, Nat, heartmom, SuperDave, Grant, Emma, BOB, Fillise, Missy, Jackie, SEF, Quilter, and whoever else my memory is failing me on...... Talk to you later, Ashley

Good morning everyone. Well, my grand plans of eating right over the week-end lasted until Friday at dinner. We went out for Mexican food with some friends and let's just say it went downhill from there. But, as they say, today is a new day.
Bob - Did you see my Longhorns? I'm not sure where they were because they sure weren't at the game. I think Mack Brown's days may be numbered. He's a great recruiter, gets some of the best talent in the country but they've been saying for years that he's not really that good of a coach. I'm beginning to agree.
Missy, Ashley and Jackie - So glad you guys had a great time. Missy, my husband wasn't all that crazy about me meeting up with people either, but I think he's adjusted slowly.
Welcome to all the new guys. We are definitely not like some of those cranky boards, well except when our football teams lose.
Emma - I thought about you yesterday. Glad we didn't scare you off.
Superdave - How about those Cowboys!!?? I can't stand the Eagles and of all the games for them to win, this was a great one!
Well, I actually better get some work done. Talk to ya'll soon.

Morning all!
I'm trying to get the week off to a productive start work-wise. For some reason if I don't get much done on Monday--I don't get much done the entire rest of the week!
Jackie0--It sounds like you had a wonderful time with Jackie and Missy!!!! Did y'all take pictures?
Deb--Keep swimming--it's excellent for toning those muscles! I saw a piece on the Today show this morning about the new surgery. It looked interesting--I like the fact that it is reversable!
Monet--Sounds like you will be busy today! Cooking for 40 is quite a task--good luck!!!!!
Anna--So sorry to hear about your job woes and your IBS. HMMMM, is there a connection? I know both are a pain in the you-know-what, but the first one might be a blessing in disguise in that it is good to reevaluate after a while and have to see your self again. It makes you focus on what you do well and perhaps helps you to find areas where you might be able to excell!
BOB--I just have to offer my condolences to you on that game on Saturday. Those games where your team just can't do anything right are the worst! Even though I'm a UGA alum, a part of me was rooting for UT because I wanted you to have something to celebrate after last week. Sigh. Remember that we love you!!!
Have a good week everyone!

Hi,
This is the time to be in NC. The weather is fabulous and the trees have finally turned beautiful colors. My husband and I drove up to the Blue Ridge Pwy yesterday and actually took about an hour's hike. It was a perfect day. Now, if I could only get busy with journaling again and stick with 2-3 carbs a day.
Debbie: Hey, I am proud of you for taking the dive! I wish I had a "safe" place to swim. I understand changing up the exercise routine is suppose to be really good. Is that what you are doing with substituting some swimming for the walking? Your pita bread looked marvelous!
Monet: Please tell me more about the chicken casserole. I am always looking for good recipes. Why are you cooking for 40?
JackieO: Meeting people from the board is really lots of fun. There is always so much to talk about!
Trish: I think my husband was a little surprised at first about me wanting to meet people from the board, also. However, he has seen what a great time I have with all of you that I have met and then he met Debbie and fell for her at once.
Oh, I looked up some information about the Aunt Gussie's and there seems to be several Kroger's that carry them or can get them for you. I don't know if I am really doing you a favor by telling you, though. Actually I am able to control the servings on them whereas I have trouble with the Spelt sesame sticks.
I have the sewing machine out and plan to hem some jeans, take up the waist in some others and do some repairs. Fun, HUH?

Good Monday morning:
We did manage to get our garage sale in on Sat/Sun, but was a pretty slow weekend. After gas, ice, lunches both days....we managed to make $250, which will be going toward replacing our camcorder. I was not very good with my eating and ate stuff just out of boredom. I did eat some cookies and candy and then had 2 of my dd's mozz. sticks from Sonic and some FF, plus a bunch of legal stuff (but way too much on portions). I am up to 124 today to show for it, but hope to be at or below 123 for WIW.
My dd is out of school today for Columbus day, so we are going to go to the 99cent store so she can spend some of her money and I can buy some paper plates & cups for our MOMS Club Halloween party in a few weeks. I also need to drop off some stuff at charity, drop off some film at Costco and get to Kohl's for their grand opening here. Also need to take oldest dd to doctor at 1:30 today.
Anyway.....on with some replies:
Deb: Your sister is really lucky to have not lost her child in that pool while the fence was down. You can't be too careful with that kind of stuff. My parents live in an area of town that was "grandfathered" so they are not required to have a fence around the pool. I NEVER leave my children with my mom. It's not because I don't trust her.....I don't trust the kids around water. Britt is now fine; she has taken swim lessons, and is not drawn to water like babies are. I worked too darn hard getting pregnant and carrying my babies to term to let them go that easily; it literally takes a second. Thanks for the info. on the corn starch; I didn't think it was allowed; thanks for the other ideas as well. How cute for Michael to get in on your post. That was interesting to read. Glad you got out into the pool and got some swimming in; are you sore yet? Sorry to hear about having to return the new microwave!
Monet: Glad you enjoyed your dinners out; sounds as if you did pretty good, overall. How long has your dh been on SB? How has he done? Good luck preparing that large dinner tonight!!
chrisd: I am sure that your uncle is our neighbor! We live in the New River area, which is about 15 minutes from Cave Creek. Cave Creek is between New River (us) and Scottsdale (where your uncle used to live). If you ever come visit, we will have to meet up.
Ken: I have found some tasty recipes on this board. I made some meatballs last night for the first time and had them with wheat pasta. Everyone seemed to like them o.k. I haven't burned rice yet, but EVERY SINGLE TIME I boil eggs, I forget about them and all the water is gone by the time I realize it.
dobe: WELCOME; we look forward to getting to know you.
Mom2jared: I am not a doctor, but can tell you from experiences of those that I know in your condition; you will benefit greatly from SB. It is amazing to me that a lot of nutritionist today are stilll recommending several fruit portions per day to diabetics, discounting the high amounts of natural sugars. I am sure you will do great. Make sure to ask any questions you have along the way.
Grant: Welcome. It sounds as if you have done fantatic on SB, and should have no problem at all dropping those final 17 pounds. We look forward to getting to know you.
Maggie: Welcome! How awesome to have a place that will make you a pizza without a crust. I am one of the guilty who picks off the toppings and throws away the crust....how wasteful, but we truly live in a wasteful society. I cannot believe the size of restaurant portions, especially for children. My Lord! Good luck to you!
beach: Good luck finding a new position; sorry to hear you have to go through this after so many years of job security.
Ashley: Way to stay OP all weekend; I wish I could say the same!!
Trishaloo: Today's a new day;) . That's what I have to keep telling myself. I've had a bowl of oatmeal with agave and flax seed meal and a few nuts this morning. I am going to have a great week!!!
Have a good day; I hope to check in later when we return from our errand crazed day!!!

Hello everyone.
Well I finally got up the courage to get on the TM again. I walked on there for 35 min today. Now Scooby is napping on it, strange cat! I'm also working on the water challenge again. I haven't been drinking near enough.
I have a Party Lite candle party to go to tonight. There's gonna be all kinds of "goodies" there, and I'm making a cake to take, not planning on eating any of it, just some legal things if there is any and if not I'll do my best to not have anything.
I've got to run down to the basement and change out the laundry and then off to the shower and finish up the cake for tonight. I'll check in again later.

I am such a sucker for routine. :) Back to walking this morning. I was sitting here contemplating whether to workout or not and Lawana called. Out the door...LOL I truly enjoy the company. It's such a stress reliever. Eating was awesome this weekend. The scales are up...so pooey on the scales. :D
Welcome to all the new people!!!!! (((hugzz)))
Trish....back on the wagon. You can do it.
Poncho...you did pretty good at your garage sale. 124 is still tiny. You'll be back down before you blink. :)
Deb....WTG taking the plunge! I hope you get some rest today to make up for those sleepless nights.
Yellow....I bet it is just wonderful where you live. I still have family in the Carolinas but have only made it up that way once in the last 25 years. I remember the couple of times it use to snow in the winter. One thing I miss here in Texas.
ChrisD...I love blue cheese also. Ken's makes a wonderful blue cheese. I just found their Ceasar flavor and it is too good also.
Susan...hope you have a great productive start to your week.
Ashley....I agree Jackie is such an encouragment. Sounds like you ladies had a nice time. I'm glad ya'll where able to meet each other. Nice to know your real name.
Beach...I am so sorry your work is putting you through all this stress just to probably place you in another position. They know your work history and job performance. Seems like they would just move ya'll around and let those that don't do well go.
Monet....wow a big dinner. Sounds wonderful.
I wanted to say howdy to more of ya'll but the kids are NOT doing school. They need my encouragement to get moving.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

JECRITES: The cat probably likes the warmth of the TM after it has been running. Mine will find a ray of sunshine to sleep in, even if it is right in the middle of the floor.
COUNTRY: I hope you got the kids back to their school work! I remember those days! My son was the worst! He would go off in a dream, and it would take him all day to finish a math assignment! I sure miss those days!
PANCHO: My husband does SB more for his cholesterol and triglycerides than anything else. He doesn't have any weight to lose. (unless you count the maybe one pound he would like to lose on his abs, so he can have six pack abs!) I tried to get him to do Atkins a long time ago, and he hated it, but after doing SB essentially, due to how I was eating, and therefore cooking, he gave up grains about three months ago, and has done very well. He feels better eating this way. He is VERY self disciplined, which can be nice at times, and a pain at others! :)
DEB: Hooray for getting in the pool! I am sure you are exaggerating about the flab....
YELLOW: I am making dinner for the leadership community meeting for church. The casserole I am making is not really SB legal. It has cornbread stuffing on the top. I will try and avoid eating the topping, and just eat the chicken. Its a simple recipe...1 boiled and boned chicken, 1 can each cream of celery and chicken, and a package of the cornbread stuffing mix. You mix the chicken and the soups with 1 cup of broth, in a casserole. Then mix the stuffing with about 1 cup of broth and spoon it on the top and bake. Pretty easy, but most people like it, so its good for these dinner meetings, where you have a lot of people to please! When do you come back through Atlanta?
FILLISE: Hope you are having a productive day! Any news on your surgery?
Ok, I gotta get back to work here! :) Later!

Gonna try and get in a post while I can before MICHAEL asks for the computer:rolleyes:
Took back the microwave, didn't get another one. I'm afraid to buy another one from the same place, though they have the biggest selection of anywhere. The one I initially wanted, they still don't have in, so I may just have to wait and MICHAEL will just have to suffer:s:
JACKIEO, glad to hear you had a nice time meeting JACKK & FRUIT, I'm so jealous! Have wanted to meet those 2 for a long time. I'm crossing my fingers:cross: that FRUIT'S DH will let us invade his territory. If you think you had a good time then, just imagine what a get together with a bunch of us is like - BIG TIME FUN! Oh, honey, I don't exaggerate at all about my body, flab and other parts, nope, unfortunately, I'm quite honest. If I stamp my foot down it take a while for the flab to stop jiggling!:fr: Trust me, it's NOT a pretty sight:nono:
TRISH, ever notice how that Mexican food just seems to do you in? You need a trip to the DD and OLE OLE;)
FILLISE, if I can get over to my DS's 3 times a week, after the kids are dropped off at school I'll be doing it at least until it gets too cold. No heater in this pool:shrug: Hope you get lots accomplished on this Monday.
CHRIS, hoping there's no pox for Dominic. Sounds like you had a nice dinner at OB. When I go and get the salad I don't have the dressing but instead I ask them to put crumbled blue cheese instead - delish! Pray for some sleep for me tonight - my butt's a-dragin!
ROSE, yep, trying to do something besides walking to get my butt in the lose weight gear. I wish I was up there! Between hearing you and my Mom talk about the change going on up there I feel so left out. I can't even fathom how gorgeous a view you must have up there right now. How's RAY??? When are you staying til. DM has been running and running but I know she said she's going to call you soon. Hope she reaches you:)
PANCHO, wish we had a Kohls here, I was at one in Atlanta but none down this way. My sister has the pool gate back up thankfully. Down here it's so common to hear about kids drowning. My DM and I worried long before they even broke ground with the pool and then to hear her say this! At least I don't have to worry as much now that it's back up. Oh, MICHAEL just loves meeting my "SB FRIENDS" as he calls all of you! :D
JEC, good going on getting on the TM today!:bravo: I am drinking a bit more today, well, sorta, I made lemonade, so 1 lemon to 24 ounces water, I think that counts towards my water, don't you;) Have fun at your party tonight, sounds like fun - I love stinky candles!!!
COUNTRY, good for you for getting out and walking. If I can sleep tonight I'm hoping to hit the pavement. The way I feel right now I feel like I already slammed in to the pavement HARD! I agree, pooey on the scale!
MONET, read my reply to JACKIE about my flab, I don't exaggerate:nono: Ask BOB, she'll tell you.
Okay, good job, was able to get caught up and no one came in and asked for the computer YIPEEE!!!

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!
Heres my MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY FOR Y'ALL!!!
When you have an "I Hate My Job" day, try this. On your way home from work, stop at your pharmacy and go
to the thermometer section and purchase a rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson.
Be very sure you get this brand. When you get home, lock your doors, draw the curtains and disconnect the
phone so you will not be disturbed. Change into very comfortable clothing and lie down on your bed.
Open the package and remove the thermometer. Now, carefully place it on the bedside table so that it
will not become chipped or broken. Take out the literature and read it carefully. You will notice that in small print there is a statement, "Every rectal thermometer made by Johnson and Johnson is personally tested".
Now, close your eyes and repeat out loud five times: "I am so glad I do not work for quality control at
Johnson and Johnson."
HAVE A NICE DAY AND REMEMBER, THERE IS ALWAYS SOMEONE ELSE WITH A JOB THAT IS WORSE THAN YOURS! :encore:
TRISH...I think MY VOLS must have been with your LONGHORNS , and they all must have been over at the FAIR!!! I was so ashamed of my team, that I didn't leave the house all day for fear that I would have a confrontation with someone with a smart mouth!
SUSAN...EVEN YOUR YELLING FOR THE BIG ORANGE didn't help! I've NEVER seen them play like that before.....NEVER!!! My DB who is more diehard than me, and stays until they turn the lights out....left in the 3rd quarter! Did you notice how empty the stands were in the 4th? I did have a good laugh though, and that helped my "down feeling" from the previous week....the dang game got so hidious, that I finally started hee hawing ....I've been saying for three years that we need a NEW QUARTERBACK!!!!! ICEMAN MY ARSE!!
MONET....make that 41 people...I'll be up .... :hun:
DEB....TOOK IT BACK????? Get a SHARPE...that's what we have and it's wonderful....and it has the popcorn button too. It's a 1000 watts and believe me, when it goes, I'll be getting another one just like this one...I got it at BURDINES....check them out!
I hope LES got a picture of you today...I better call her before Wednesday!!! :p
Tell my SWEETIE that I'm sorry that he didn't get me yesterday...I was working on the computer PLUS had my head in the TV watching GODFATHER III....THEN CASINO!!!!! I gave KATE your message about the TWINS!!!
ROSE...So glad to hear from you..I bet the parkway was beautiful!
I miss the mountains so much! You need to take some pictures of the follage and post them on the board!
CRYSTLE....I absolutely love the KENS line...they also have some good BBQ sauce that's not too bad sugar wise. Give their GREEK dressing a try...it's YUMMY!!!
JENN...Good going on the TM...you need to teach SCOOBY to walk with you..I understand that cats are easy to train in that way!
I like Party Lite, but they are so expensive...they have a really good eucalyptes candle...check it out...it really leaves your house smelling fresh and clean....
PANCHO...So glad you finally got to have your sale...Did you make enough to take us all out to dinner????
CHRIS...Glad you had a good time at your dinner...I just love OUTBACK...anything they have is wonderful...Did you see the game? Pretty darned good eh?????
ASHLEY...Wish I'd been a little fly in the wall Sunday. Missy's a hoot isn't she? GAWD....I wish y'all were closer in miles...Did y'all get to stroll around a little after lunch? Missy told me that she took some pictures, and I can't wait to see them!
BEACH....{{{{{{{{{{{{HUGS}}}}}}}}}}}}}} We're going thru the same thing at the hospital, and we hold our breath on every round of layoffs..it's a scarey thing, especially since you've been there for so long! Hello Sugar Buster's!
Hope eveyone had a great week-end. Mine was very quiet, and laid back. Friday after Dh left, I pretty much did nothing. Saturday I made a cauliflower dish for our family potluck. IT WAS THE ONLY THING I COULD EAT, AND IT WAS GONE WHEN I GOT UP TO FIX A PLATE!! So I didn't eat anything for lunch....but came home early and fixed a nice salad and some WW spaghetti with a meat sauce. Sunday was spent cleaning house, and doing the laundry. Which is what I do every Sunday. Dh didn't have any luck hunting, so he will be going everyday until he gets lucky, then I have to start going. We both get our licenses and tags.
On to some replies.......
Deb--Glad that you made a splash. Wasn't it fun once you took the plunge?? What is up with the sleepless nights? You haven't had a good nights sleep for almost a week now.
Monet--Wow, dinner for 40?? I don't even have pots and pans big enough to cook for that many!! You are going to be a busy little beaver today. Have fun!!
Beach-- Sorry that you have to go through the whole process of resumes and that. I am sure that you will be just fine, and they will put you in one of the new positions.
JackieO--Glad you girls had a good time. I would love to get together with all of you great people....just don't see it happening. My dh sound like Missy's. But I won't quit hoping!!
Trish-- Hang in there....this is a new day, and it will only get BETTER!!
Fillise-- My weekend was a very lazy one. Today was spent in town looking for canning jars.
Chrisd-- Sounds like you will have your hands full today!! Bleu Cheese dressing is yummy. I think that is a pretty safe choice of dressing, unless they add lots of sugar.
Yellowrose-- Can I send you my mending too?? I have to really be in the mood to drag out the sewing machine. I really need to get into that mood, and soon!!
Pancho-- Glad that you were able to do your garage sale. They are alot of work aren't they?? I would like for my hubby to do one with all of his GUYS stuff. But he keeps telling me it is all good stuff. Sigh.....his shop is the biggest mess I have ever seen.
Jec-- WTG, I saw your post on the exercise board!! Lucky you, I LOVE Party Lite Candles. They are the best. What did you ever find out was wrong with your dryer??
Country-- I think having a partner to walk with makes all the difference in the world. Before we moved out here, my cousin and I would walk for hours and hours, miles, and miles. And it was fun!! Phoooey on the scales. You don't need them!
BOB-- Sorry to hear about your team! Not into football much, except when my boys were playing in school. But I know that it can be very exhilarating. Have fun!
Well, that's it for now, will be back this evening.

Hello Hello!
How are ya my friends! I am happy to report that I stayed OP all day today! What an accomplishment! I guess my visit with Jackie and Ashley worked! They inspired me to do well! I'll try my best to keep it up.
I forgot to take pictures at school today to finish my roll! I'm so mad! I'll do it tomorrow so that I can get those pics developed!
ASHLEY: It was so wonderful to meet you! I can't wait to get together again. You will definitely have to come out with us the next time we go to see the band play. We always have such a great time. What did y'all do after Terry and I left? Did y'all take any more pictures? I'm sad that I only took 2! I wish I would have had more time with y'all! Can you believe that I stayed on plan today? What can I say...you inspired me! Thanks for a great lunch! Can't wait to do it again!
DEB: I'm still workin on it - I know that it will happen - maybe I'll have to hold out on him and not give up the pooty until he agrees! HAHA!
BEACH: Yeah - we were at that crappy game! We were so pissed! Hopefully we get our act together before we meet up with y'all!
Sorry I didn't get to everyone but I'm going to bed early! See y'all tomorrow!

I just bought the Michel Montigue book called "Slim Yourself Thin" from Ebay on Deb's recommendation. Will this book confuse what I am reading in SB. I just started reading SB. I tried to get SYT out of the library but my library does not have it at any of the branches. They said someone claimed that they lost it. Guess they really wanted to keep it and decided not to return it. Something I probably would have done.
Thanks!

Dinner tonight went really well. Everyone was complimentary, which was nice. There was a good bit of food left, which I brought home and put in the freezer. Too bad the casserole is not SB legal, or I would have dinner done for tomorrow night! ;)
I have to work tomorrow, so I need to get to bed soon. I am considering quitting again. The manager only scheduled me for one day next week. Its hardly worth my while.... And the WWoB is back into her B-y form again. I have to work with her tomorrow, and I am NOT looking forward to it. :(
Going to go get ready for bed... Night everyone!
MOM: I have Eat Yourself Slim. Montignac is kind of the father of SB. He wrote and published his book in France, and the SB book was based on his program, and came out before his was translated and sold here. I think you will find it fills out the details on the SB book nicely. I can't believe people will steal books from libraries! They can take the book out whenever they want to, so why not leave it there for others to enjoy as well??
FRUIT: Congrats on staying OP! See? You CAN do this!
TEENSY: Cooking for 40 is not really all that hard! Honest! Sorry your hubby was not lucky this weekend... Do you like to hunt? I am not sure if I would like it or not. I can't believe there was nothing you could eat, and they all ate the one thing you could have! I would have eaten something, but you are so good, not eating off plan! Well done!
BOB: I was looking for you...and we had plenty of food! Maybe next month!
DEB: I can't believe you have anymore flab than I do, and I get in the pool! In fact, I have been known to skinny dip! Of course, only Tom was around.... ;)

I am new to the SB way of eating. I have been on for two weeks. I lost 11 pounds so far. I started 2 Saturdays ago. I thought I wouldnt go with my usual "I'll start on Monday line." I am 48 and started at 223. I am now 212. Can anyone out there tell me if I am doing the right thing. I am not counting the carbs. I just cut out all what was instructed in book to cut out such as, carrots, bananas, white bread, potatoes, rice, etc. I eat 100 percent whole wheat bread, no sugar added, and whole wheat tortillas and saltine crackers in addition to all the other allowables. Am I eating the right wheat products. Wheat pasta also, but none of the wheat products say stone ground. Is it ok? Guess what yall, just in case yall do not know this already. I
went to cici's pizza for lunch after church today and I asked if they could make me the pizza, minus the crust. They said "Oh your on the atkins diet, sure we can." I didn't correct them that I was on SB. So they prob do that often if only we ask. They put the cheese, pepperoni, and sausage in an aluminum pan for me and put it through the oven till it was all melted together. Ate it with my salad and it was great!! I thought that was so nice
that they would do that. I guess it beats someone taking the regular pizzas and then throwing all the bread part away.
Thank you to all of you in advance and I wish you all well.

Hey Y'all!
Just checking in to wish you all a good week. Yes, I know it started yesterday, but it's leaf raking time up here and that means not much spare time. It's supposed to rain today so we were madly trying to get as many picked up as possible. Then Paul decided to tackle the roof and make sure the gutters were clear. So I went from raker to ladder holder.
Anyways, just wanted to send out a big greeting and a big wish that we're all LOSERS this week.
Here's a question for you all: Since we're under three months until the new year, where do you see yourself (in this journey) by year's end? Can we set some goals for either a number on the scale or a size of pants or even some regular exercise? Just throwing that idea out there. If you don't want to add pressure to your efforts, by all means, don't do this. But it's always fun to look forward and wonder.
Take care. Happy Tuesday!

Good Tuesday Morning:wave:
Finally got a good nights rest, but unfortunately I'm still tired and I don't feel like I got the rest I did. Went to sleep with a slight headache and woke up with the same. I went to sleep at 8pm, yes, 8pm. Was stirred awake by ELI who thought I was crazy to go to sleep so early (he's been sleeping and the one who's been keeping ME up!), got up, ate some bologna and cheese for dinner and went back to sleep until 5am, woke up but luckily fell back asleep again. Maybe I just need one more good night of sleep to feel rested.
I have a few places I have to go to today, check on my parents home, go see my GF and Aunt, p/u some things for ELI at one of the Starbucks, and points in between before I have to go get the kids from school.
ELI is getting ready for work, he's so sick, but that will never stop him from going.
Okay, off to some repies...
BOB, took it back for sure. The one I want is actually a Sharpe and the one I had was a Sharpe, so that's what I'm going for. Problem is, don't know when it will come in and if we can hold out til then. I don't use the nuker that much, but you know MICHAEL, his food life depends on it. ELI needs it for popcorn. Basically, I could live without it. My JETSTREAM is another story-can't live without that! I never go to Burdines, never thought about them and nukers, may have to check them out this week, wonder if Macy's carrys any?
TEENSY, sorry DH didn't have any luck hunting. I'm sure he'll get something soon, he sounds persistent;) Yes, it was nice in the pool once I plunged in, I'll do it again, maybe tomorrow. The sleepless nights, sometimes it's ELI sometimes it's me and sometimes I haven't a clue why:shrug: Just hope it stops already!!!!
FRUIT, here's hoping for another day OP!:cp: Gosh, if just a few hours with JACKK & JACKIEO did that, can't you image what a SB GET TOGETHER could do for a gal? Darn, we may have you OP for days!!!!! And then, the residual effects may last far after we're gone. Hold the pooty, the booty and anything else you need to hold;) for DH to finally give in. Tell him we need time to prepare so he can't wait too long for a decision. Tell him it's NEEDED for theraputic purposes!!!!
MOM, hope you win that book on Ebay!!!!
MONET, oh, believe it, I have always said, instead of Betty Davis Eyes I have Grandma Betty Thighs - literally! I look like I have my GM's thighs when she was alive in her 80's - it's sickening, really. I don't doubt your dinner went well. I'm dying for you to join in our next SB GET TOGETHER to see what you'd make!!!! Okay, that and to see you again too:)
QUILTER, once winter strolls in, do your trees lose all the leaves so you don't have to rake anymore up til Spring again? We just let them stay as they fall, no one rakes the leaves from our one tree, the avocado tree. Our other trees don't do that. End of year, hmmmm, I'd just like to be less than I am today, anythings better!!!
Okay, I'm outta here!
Will check in later

My contribution for TUESDAY TIPS
The Glycemic Index
The Glycemic Index compares the speed at which carbohydrate-containing foods and beverages raise blood sugars. The Glycemic Index categorizes foods and beverages as "high-glycemic" and "low-glycemic" by assigning a number value, typically between 1-100. Higher numbers [60-100] are considered "high-glycemic" or "glycemic". Higher glycemic foods indicate greater carbohydrate-density and a subsequent rapid raising of blood sugars or "glucose". Foods assigned with lower numbers [0-59] indicate stabilization of blood sugars over time, like four to five hours.
Because the Glycemic Index is based on multiple laboratory tests done on carbohydrate-containing foods, the important thing to keep in mind is not memorizing exact numbers, which vary from table to table...but to keep in mind "trends": higher numbers and lower numbers. Instant rice will always have higher numbers [G.I. = near '90's] than apples [G.I. = in the 30's]. You can always count on the fact that apples will always have lower G.I. numbers._
Glycemic Load
Glycemic Load refers to the actual number of grams of carbohydrates to saturate your bloodstream after your meal or snack. Apples may be "low-glycemic", but if you eat 10 of them, all those grams of carbohydrate will add up [and you will feel really, really full] and the glycemic load on your bloodstream will be large. On the other hand, if you only eat one cookie, you are limiting the actual grams of carbohydrate to enter the bloodstream, even though you are technically eating a high-glycemic snack. So, really, no foods are off limits. You can eat small doses of even the most decadent of cuisines.
So, REMEMBER: when you eat a foods loaded in sugars or starches... like bread, potatoes... if you only have a small portion, your "glycemic load" or ACTUAL GRAMS OF CARBOHYDRATES TO ENTER THE BLOODSTREAM, will be minimal. A low glycemic load will help you manage blood sugars over time, by managing the quantity of insulin needed to help blood sugars (glucose) enter your cells. You can calculate carbohydrate grams using grams of "total carbohydrates" listed on food labels.
...the higher the glycemic index......and the greater the glycemic load..._...the faster blood sugar will rise...
Feeling foggy?
When blood sugars rise, insulin is released from the pancreas, which triggers a serotonin response in proportion to the amount of insulin being released. Insulin and serotonin work hand in hand. The more insulin, the more serotonin. Just in case you are not yet familiar with the word, "serotonin", it is the brain chemical which produces a good mood (in its proper concentration). If you over-do the carbohydrate, too much serotonin is released, and your brain fogs up.
SEVEN STRATEGIES to manage your blood sugars
1. When you eat more than 100 grams of carbohydrate-containing foods or beverages, you will begin to over-produce serotonin, inducing a drug-like state: sleepiness, fuzziness and tiredness. I call this "serotonin overload" or "overdosing on serotonin" -- and I lived in this state for roughly 18 years due to my anxiety, needing desperately to numb lots of emotional pain I was feeling. So, if I can learn how to manage my carbohydrate intake, you can too. To stay mentally focused, energetic, and in a good mood, eat and/or drink less than 100 grams of carbohydrate at your meal or snack. Here's an example: a slice of 100% whole grain bread contains roughly 15 grams of carbohydrate while 1/3 cup of brown rice contains roughly the same dose of carbohydrates.
2. The trick to transforming the carbohydrate-addict mentality, is to learn to deal with anxiety constructively...for starters, breathe deeply three times. Next: stay away from toxic people and places, so you stop feeling the need to numb your Self with carbohydrates. When feeling anxious, you may in fact be dehydrated. Drink water, first, before eating. Or, perhaps you need to breathe! Anxiety could be a symptom that you need more oxygen. Take a deep breathe...or two, or three.
3. Stop depriving your Self of foods you love. If you deprive your Self of favorite foods, you may end up binging on them. Instead, educate your Self about foods that nourish you and ignite your Spirit. Remember... nothing is off limits if you enjoy a small portion! This practice will minimize insulin response and stabilize serotonin in the bloodstream.
4. When you get enough serotonin, cravings for carbohydrates vanish! To raise serotonin, go for a brisk walk, get some sunshine, eat tryptophan-rich foods or have some low-glycemic carbohydrates!
5. Select low-glycemic foods. Examples of low-glycemic foods
include:...apples, pears, peaches, plums, grapefruit, grapes, cherries, barley, real pumpernickel rye bread, wheat berries, thicker pasta noodles, organic dairy, free range poultry and lean red meat, fish, nuts, lentils, butter beans, garbanzo beans, kidney beans, lima beans, pinto beans, soy beans, black-eyed peas or protein-rich foods or beverages low in added sugars.
6. FYI: 4 grams of carbohydrates = one teaspoon of sugar. Start the habit of calculating teaspoons of sugar per serving by counting "Total Carbohydrates" per serving [listed on the Nutrition Facts label]. Once you know what the total carbohydrates are [per serving], divide by 4 grams of carbohydrate per teaspoon, to get teaspoons of sugar per serving. This process will give you a good idea of the actual "glycemic load" on your bloodstream after your meal is over.
7. Eat protein with carbohydrate, or select plant proteins like lentils and other legumes, which have an inherent combination of protein and carbohydrate. Protein slows down the rate at which carbohydrate enters the bloodstream. Include protein at your mid-day meal, when it is most important to stay mentally alert, manage moods, blood sugars to stay energetic and productive. Examples of protein-rich foods include legumes (beans, dried peas, lentils, peanuts), dairy products, poultry and red meat.
In conclusion: Getting hung up on "The Glycemic Index" is missing the point.
The key to selecting the finest carbohydrate containing cuisine is
not to mind the glycemic index, but to keep nutrient density in mind.

Good morning everyone,
It was a good weekend, repotted a lot of houseplants, finished closing the pool, did a TON of laundry. Had people over for supper Sat night, went to a flea market Sunday morning, worked out yesterday morning and took one of the kids bowling too. Ate mostly OP, and the scale was good to me this morning(I tend to check more than once a week).
Quilter - we've been losing leaves too, but not nearly enough to rake yet. The colors are very late this year, usually we're at peak by now and we're nowhere near it yet. But raking is always a chore and all 4 of us wind up either raking or dragging leaves around.
Teensy - my dad goes hunting and we enjoy the venison when it comes, but season hasn't started here yet. Sometimes I go with him, but I'm just not lucky.
Pancho - We have Kohl's here too, and took advantage of their sale to get stuff for the kids and husband over the weeknd. they have great stuff.
Hope that everyone else is doing well!
Hopeful for WIW...

Hello everyone.
Just got done with my TM walk. Shocking thing is I actually did it instead of backing out since TOM hit last night as soon as I got home from the Party Lite party.
I think I did good last night at the party, I had broccoli, carrots, cukes, a couple apple slices, and a few strawberries. Didn't have dinner before I left because I BURNT it :o . Don't really know what happened, it was going good and then all of a sudden it was burnt up, so after hubby got in I left him to deal with feeding the girls.
It was so nice to get out of the house with no kids attached to me. That rarely happens. I decided to host a candle party, mainly to help out the girl that hosted the one last night. She's really a sweet person, and she was supposed to get something if three people would host a party, so I decided that since I don't do anything I might as well.
A few replies and then I'm headed to the shower.
BOB, You are right, they are expensive. They have a pear candle that smelled pretty good, I may see about some of those. I am gonna host a party on the 17th of next month though, and I'm hoping to get a good deal with that. It sounds like the consultants make pretty good money, don't think I'd want to do that though. Scooby probably would run away in a wild fit if I tried to get him to walk on the TM, he's got a mind of his own.
Teensy, I still really have no clue what's up with my dryer, It has basically 2 different high heat settings, on goes for however long it takes to get them dry and the other one is timed, and then there's the fluff air with no heat at all. I've been putting it on the one that goes for however long and that's the one that messed up. I now put it on the timed dry and if it's a large load I have to run it twice, other then that it works ok. Hubby is never home to actually take it apart to look at it and see what the prob is. Hubby loves to hunt too, he's been just a couple times so far, only got a rabbit right now. He's doing bow hunting right now, but watch out when gun season starts. He'd prob sleep in the woods if he could.
Monet, So sorry to hear you have to work with the WWoB. It's a shame that there are people out there who are B's like that. I guess they just don't realize that being nice and kind to others will benifit them more then being nasty.
I'll talk to y'all later.

Good Tuesday morning....still at 124 on the scales, and even ate a few McDonald's FF yesterday. I would really like to get a full week in where I am totally on-plan. It is so easy to stray! So far today, I have had a bowl of shredded wheat with some Uncle Sam sprinkled in with skim milk. We are back into our normal routine too. My DD was out of school Thurs-Mon and really threw me off on our schedules. I was supposed to meet some friends of mine for a potluck for lunch today but haven't heard back, so I assume it's off. I sure hope so since I wouldn't have anything to bring. So, I will go to the gym instead.
I did get to Kohl's yesterday, but didnt' find too much; it's sometimes difficult to shop with kids. I'd like to go one day solo. I had a little bit of a headache yesterday that progressed into a monster headache. I guess it would be the closest I've had to a migraine. My head was throbbing! My youngest DD never helps matters. She gets into these moods where she screams at the top of her lungs (we used to have a Macaw parrot, and she comes pretty close to being as loud as that bird was). We were standing in line at the grocery store, and she was sitting in one of those little car shopping carts (that didn't have a working seatbelt) and was trying to climb out. I told her No several times, and she was still trying to climb out. I didn't want an injury on our hands, so I pulled her out and held her. OH MY GOD...you'd think I just beat the child....she was so loud, everyone was looking and then she started to hit me in the face. All the while, I am attempting to pay for my groceries and get out of there, pronto. We probably won't be back at that store for a long while. She is sooooo different from my laid back, sweet, precious older child. My oldest has been so easy from day one, and with Delaney.....I have my work cut out for me. I went to bed at 9:00 and feel much better today.
Monet: I know what you mean about your DH and the 6-pack abs. My husband has an awesome physique (always has....we met at a gym). But, that is the one area he wants to improve on. We do an ab video 3x per week together at night. He has really changed a lot about his diet since I have started this. He has given up soda completely, and doesn't even drink beer as often as he used to. He is a lot more aware of what he consumes now! Glad your dinner was a big success...it's no surprise. I hope things get better for you at work; it's not worth it otherwise.
Country: I wish I had a Lawana in my life. It is so nice to get back into a routine, whatever it is. Britt was off for 5 days in a row, and then we had that garage sale (non-routine). Today, it is back to our normal schedule! Have a great day!
BOB: I'd love to take you all to dinner, but I think we'll have a SB friendly potluck instead. I need to get back on track;) .
Teensy: Sorry your DH didn't have any luck hunting; maybe next time. I know what you mean about DH. My DH is a packrat and wants to hang on to everything, and then if I talk him into selling it, he wants to ask more than the darn thing is worth. I guess he thinks he won't sell it that way and will be able to bring it back home.
Fruit: Way to stay on plan yesterday.....that is my goal today and the rest of the week.
Mom2: I've never read SYT, but would like to. I think most follow the same concepts. I read everything that I can get my hands on to help me remember how terrible sugar is for you and how I need to stay away from it. I have a book called, "Get The Sugar Out," as well as a few books authored by a nutritionist (Robert Crayhon), and others as well. I read them as often as I can to keep me on track. I used to drink one Dr. Pepper a day, and that's not bad considering what so many of my friends and family drank, but in the long run....one is still bad. One soda can suppress your immune system for 4-6 hours and can make you susceptible to picking up viruses. So one a day plus all the other crap I was eating made me a pretty susceptible puppy. Teensy is a great example. She has been following this type of plan for two years and hasn't had an allergy or cold symptom since. Good luck to you!!!
Quilter: I think goals would be an awesome way to get through this otherwise difficult time of year. There seems to be food everywhere we go, and I think it would be great to set goals. I think we will all have "splurge" times, but it would be good to know that you allowed that one splurge and get back on track right after instead of it causing a downward spiral. Since I am maintaining....I may even say that I don't want to allow myself to go over 125. And then when the holidays are over, I'll drop those few pounds again. Everyone can have their own individual goals, but maybe post so we can all see what they are!
Deb: Glad you got a good night's sleep. I did too. I went to bed at 9:00; that's pretty early....but I needed it.
Wood: I weigh everyday; it helps keep me on track. I am pretty much maintaining now, but if I see the scale go up (like I have the past few days), I know that it is time to get serious and get right back on plan. Everytime we go to Iowa, I go to Kohl's and always find great bargains. I wasn't too impressed with this one yesterday. Maybe later when they start having their clearance sales, I'll like it better.
jecrites: I know what you mean about getting out without kids. It is a nice change. I used to hear people say that when I didn't have kids, and would think to myself, "why did you have kids if you don't want to be with them?" Well, well, well....have I ever told you that I was a better parent before I was a parent? I used to say that my kids would NEVER do what these other kids do. Well, they've managed to do it all and then some. My MOM'S Club has one night a month that is called Mom's Night Out, and we go to a movie or out to dinner or to someone's house for Bunco or food exchange or holiday party.....it is so nice to meet with other adults without having to change poopy diapers and wipe snotty noses or remind someone to share. I think it helps me to be a better mommy if I get a night out every once in awhile. I feel the same way when I get my exercise in; it is a major stress reliever. My 5-year old asked me one day why I had to work-out that day. I asked her if she wanted me to be happy and in a good mood. Of course, her answer was yes. That is why I have to do it.
Anyway.....better go get dressed and get the kiddos dressed, and plan to hit the gym today.
Have a great day, and I hope to check in later!

Hey guys! Hope everyone is having a good day! I havent excersised in 3 weeks...evry night I tell myself that Im gonna start tomorrow, and when tomorrow comes it never happens. Why is this? I cannot, for the life of me, get motivated. I was doing so good before Dominic got sick and then it was all downhill from there. I need a big kick in the butt to get going.
Im gonna go try and find a halloween costume again for DS. I asked him what he wants to be and he keeps saying sponge bob or a fireman...I would love for him to be a fireman but to get him to wear a hat all night will be a chore in itself.
My niece DOESNT have chicken pox..thank God! They are flea bites from the sand.
DEB - glad to see you got some reat last night...another night of good sleep should get you caught up! You asked me over the weekend how long I have been married and I forgot to answer on my last post...so it was 6 years on Saturday. Hope Eli gets better...is it the flu?
PANCHO - I LOVE to read your posts. Especially when you talk about Delaney! She is so much like Dominic....in stores and restaurants. Sometimes he can be great but MOST times hes horrible. I have to bribe him with fruit snacks, goldfish, lolipops...and anything else he wants to keep him quiet. i often ask myself where I went wrong. I remember, before having him, going to stores hearing kids screaming there heads off...I would be like uugghhh shut that kid up. Well hear I am in the same position...and Im sure people are saying that about me. Its funny how the tables turn!
BOB - Outback is one of my favorites. I think i have had everything on there menu! :) Yes, of course, I saw the game. What a game it was...hopefully we are back on track again...we better be anyway. We play San Fran Sunday, so hopefully that will be a winner.
Gotta run....DS needs me!

Getting a late start this morning. Had to go for bloodwork at the crack of dawn, rushed into my office, wolfed down my breakfast and had clients waiting on me. (I didn't want to see them on an empty stomach, because I get crabby. And fasting for the bloodwork made me ravenous, which was purely psychological I think, but anyway..........
How is everyone this morning?
Missy- I totally LOVED meeting you and your hubby and can't wait to do it again. After you left, jackie and I strolled around the French Market and Jackson Square. No, we didn't take any more pictures. I am so lame to forget my camera. Plus, I am not too thrilled by looking at myself in pictures anyway. We did have a nice time walking around. Didn't do anything crazy without you. Just enjoyed the lovely aroma of the quarter...smells like a@#. HAHA.
ChrisD- Climb back on the exercise wagon, girl! You can do it!!!!
Nat- It is awesome that your husband is so supportive. It sounds like he does sugarbusters by proxy.
Jecrites- Good job staying on plan at the party!
Woodfrogs- Glad the scale was good to you.
Deb- glad to hear you finally got some rest. Good luck with your microwave drama..
Teensy- I have got to say that I am impressed with your ability to stay on plan, despite the legal food running out. I would have been all over whatever else they had. I admire your determination to stay on plan. Maybe that is why you have lost over 100 pounds, and I am still struggling with the last 20.
BOB- Wish you could have been there on Sunday, too. I hear you are a hoot and look forward to one day meeting you.
A Big HELLO to all my other sugarbustin' friends: Monet, CountryMom, SuperDave(where are you?), Fillise, Heartmom, Quilter, and Mom2jared. Talk to you all later.--Ashley

Pancho and Chris, I honestly think we curse ourselves by saying those things about kids before we have them and even sometimes after we have them. I have found myself saying that my kids won't be this way or that way and they are. Granted they aren't as bad as some of the kids out there, but I remember the days when they were so good and would actually listen to me and do what they were asked to do, my SIL was extremely jealous, I can't say that now about my kids though. Oh some things they are still pretty good about, but want to throw out an attitude at me, but other things it's like pulling teeth to get them to do it.

Hi Everyone! When I got home from work, I took a nap. I was so tired! I am kind of out of it, and having a hard time waking up. Not sure if I slept too much, or not enough. I have a headache too, so I feel a bit on the crabby side. Something I ate is disagreeing with me as well. I wish I had a good book to read!
School is out again today, so of course Laura is off somewhere in my car. That girl just can't stay put! Somehow, she managed to gather enough money from her allowance, room (you know..the change under the bed, etc.) and her friends, to buy an enormous teddy bear, which she has taken to carrying around with her everywhere. She had it strapped in the front seat like a person when she came to pick me up from work!
JECRITES, PANCHO, CHRISD: Reading your posts about your kids brings back memories! They always seem to misbehave when there are plenty of people around to see, and make you feel embarrassed! I highly recommend James Dobson's books, Dare To Discipline, and The Strong Willed Child. He is a child psychologist, and his books are really helpful! All kids will test the limits, you just have to make sure they don't get what they want when they are, or they will try that behavior again and again!

Beach--My DH and I will be up Alabama way on Friday. I am curious about your weather up there now. How hot/cool is it, and will I need a sweater? We are leaving here Thursday night for the Kentuck Art Festival. We are staying in a little town south of Tuscaloosa for 2 nights--have reservations at a B & B there. We probably will go to the show all day Saturday and head for home Sunday. Since you are near there, thought I could get the true scoop on the weather.

HELLO FROM A RAINY SW SIDE OF FLA! :rain:
Snuck out early to come home and watch Oprah. Barbra Striesand was on and I just love to hear her sing! It was a really great show and I hope some of you saw it! She just had to put her Bijon to sleep, and she has dedicated one of the songs on her new CD to Sammie...while she was singing the song, they had film up behind her with Sammie in it. It was so sweet.
DEB..look at TARGET or WALMART for the nuke box...just make sure is a SHARPE, and just make sure it's a 1000 watter!
ASHLEY...maybe.....just maybe if Missy gets to have us up to her house...WE WILL GET TO MEET!!! I love to have a good time, and Missy and I are a lot alike...I've never met her, but just from knowing here here on the board....we could be TWINS!!!!
JACKIE......ARE YOU HOME YET?????
JEC...I'm such a YANKIE CANDLE fan, that I just can't bring myself to buy anything else! They have the most oils in their candles and they last so long! They are $20 for a big jar candle here, but WELL WORTH THE $$$$
GATOR...while you're in Alabama...could you see if you can't throw off THE BAMA TEAM???? We play them next, and I'm not looking forward to it at all! Have a good time!
MONET...You just need to go ahead and quit that place. The PUBLIX COMPANY is well known for
not treating their women employees with respect.. There was a LARGE law suit here in Fla for just that reason....
PANCHO...If we have a get together...we will definately have on program food. You should have seen the spread that we had when we all got together at SOLS house a couple of years ago.
It was unreal! Of course, DEBBIE ate most of the cheesecake which left the rest of us to split what was left :hun:
WOOD....OH OH...sounds like a day at my house with all that laundry! Glad you got it done though....
CHRIS...I think the team IS back on track, and the next one with SAN FRAN should be a good one! It will be on the tube here at my house!
Well...Gotta run...

Good afternoon gang!
Been busy this morning with sauerkraut. Bought 3 cases of jars yesterday, and the kraut took up 2 cases. We got 24 pints out of 3 heads of cabbage. And boy does this taste good. I know alot of people don't like sauerkraut, but we love it. My boys won't eat it though.
Dh and the neighbor went out hunting today. They didn't see anything yesterday, but they went out pretty early in the afternoon. Today they waited til later.
Monet-- Glad the dinner is not too hard on you. No I don't like hunting. I go because hubby wants me to. I feed those babies, there is no way I can kill them.
Maggie-- Welcome, you are doing a great job so far. You will be amazed at how great you will feel. That's nice that the pizza place was so accommodating.
Quilter-- Great question....I am hoping to be at my goal of 150 pounds by Christmas! I joined the Christmas challenge on the other board I am a member of, so will have the same here!
Deb-- Glad to hear that you finally got some sleep. Another couple of days and you would have been a zombie for sure. Hope you can continue to sleep. I took a picture of some of the canned goods that I have done. Will get busy and get it on here for you.
Woodfrogs-- I like the driving around with dh, but I don't want to be the one to have to shoot the deer. As I have mentioned, I feed them in the wintertime!!
Jec-- Glad you had a nice time at the party. Love "Candle Lite" scents. Dh eats and sleeps hunting now for the next few weeks. But it sure is nice to have the meat.
Pancho-- It is a standing joke in my family....if you want to get rid of anything just call Ted!! He hauls home everyones junk!!
Chrisd-- Come on...you can do it. one day at a time.....
JackieO-- Determination??? My family calls it my STUBBORN STREAK!! My first goal was to lose 100 pounds, then I thought I would ease into maintenance, but NO....I decided I wanted to lose 20 more. So the STUBBORNESS is still there, LOL!!
See you all later.....Ta ta!

Hope I can remember how to do this.....
In the front row is, on the left...canned fish, on the right is salsa.
In the back row, on the left is applesauce, then stewed tomatoes, and on the right is canned venison.
I am always running to catch up with me. I thought I'd conk out Sunday. Went to chuirch, followed by a Pot Luck lunch given by our Mission group. Sort of impromptu and not many attended. Our church supports the Prison Ministry in Ghana. some of our members went there and presented a slide program about it. Then had to go to a GRound Breaking Ceremony for Habitat. Then at 5p a concert in the park. By 10p I was glad to be home!
Yesterday I was a zombie. Did the nursing home thing, ran some errands anad took a nap. Today went to swim class, stayed in pool talking with some others afterwards, all of us jogging or moving. Ten went in and got on the Transport, that gliding walking machine. Too much, was pooped another nap! I just love the water, class is 45-60 minutes. Get there about 20 min. before to warm up and usually stay a few minutes after. Just got carried away today. Thank goodness it was a day off for the Joyful Noise!
My latest project? I am making a scarf for GD. Apparently the latest craze is scarves about 4" wide, wrapped around the neck two or four times with the ends hanging down to your feet. My GD is very tall and she couldn't find one long enough, so ask GM if she can make one in LSU colors. Of course! THe only thing is you'd think purple and yellow/gold would be easy to find in this state. Not necesarily so, or at least the right shade of colors. After many excursions I finally hit the jackpot. The scarf will be finished tonight. I mean it's loooooong! 610 stitches long about 7'! Two rows on an afghan see to go quicker than one row on this scarf. She will be home this weekend. She can try it on and I will fringe it accordingly. Then I can back to the afghan and crosstitch projects I am doing.
Today I have been 100%, having a hard time keeping focused. Just have to do one day at a time.
I had to go back and check, didn't catch what y'all were talking about. Yes my "oink" bouquet is PINK. LOL
Take care, Shirley

Hi guys:
Everyone is in bed here, so it is nice and quiet. I probably won't be on until tomorrow afternoon, so I thought I'd try to catch up while I can. I got to the gym today and it felt great. I did 5 minutes on eliptical, upper body on circuit and weights & 30 minutes on treadmill. My eating was pretty much OP all day, just some portions a bit big.
chrisd: Brace yourself, because here come a kick in the behind.....WHAM! Did you get it....get to exercising girl! Glad your niece did not have chickenpox. Also glad to hear that I don't have the only child around who makes you wanna go hmmmmmm....remember that silly song? I should've never criticized those poor women I didn't know.
Ashley: My DH is supportive now, but hasn't always been. He now knows it works and is healthy for everyone.
jecrites: I've been cursed. My oldest DD wasn't anything like this as a toddler! I love Delaney more than life itself, but some days are definately trying.
Monet: I have the book "The Strong Willed Child." It was recommended by a mom I know. I better get to reading.
BOB: I didn't see Oprah, but I am sure it was great therapy for you. It would be fun to meet everyone one day.
Teensy: I love sauerkraut; my dh will eat it but isn't crazy about it, and my dd won't touch the stuff. Your jarred food looks delicious...I'm envious.
Sef: You have been so busy. The scarf sounds quite impressive. Your GD should be happy to have such a generous GM.
Our MOM's Club is having an outing tomorrow morning at an outlet mall near my house with crafts and free Auntie Anne's pretzels, so we are going to go there prior to taking DD to school. I hope it doesn't turn out to be too long of a day for her. Delaney has her 15-month check up tomorrow, and I think only 1 shot!
I'll check in when I can to report my WIW weight. Good luck to all of you on your weigh-ins.
Nat
Well, I better get going and get a few things done before I jump into bed.

Good morning everyone
Just a quick pop in before work! I tried to get to the board last night but it kept saying that the board was unavailable or something like that. But then I talked to SEF on AIM and she was posting. Go figure - I don't know what the deal was. So, I'll get a long post in tonight after I tutor.
As for WIW - Monday I was at 283 and today 277. I don't know how that happened but I hope it continues. I guess it will if I STAY ON PLAN! :D
See y'all later
have a great day!

Hello all.
Just wanted to pop in and say hi. I'll be gone most of the day since payday is finally here. Have a lot to do today. It's library day and then off to the grocery store and maybe Wal-Mart to see what I can find to throw into layaway for the kids for Christmas. I won't even have a chance to get on the TM today, but surely all the walking I'll be doing should help out some, at least I'll be busy and not just sitting on my big ol' butt.
Oh, I'm planning on getting on the metal monster next week since TOM is here right now, that is if I don't forget. I sure hope it's under the 195 it's hung on right now. The weird thing about being 195 (going by my scales and not the docs), is I can wear my size 15 jeans and they aren't too uncomfortable. I guess these huge boobies I've got make up for quite a bit of my weight. They haven't shrunk a bit. I guess they'll always be this size no matter what I do. It seems the weight comes off my face and my tummy, that is a little off the tummy not a whole lot, but the boobies just stay put.
Well I'm off to start getting myself and Autumn ready for the day. I'll check back when I can. Talk to y'all later.
Oh Teensy before I forget, My hubby is the same way about hunting as yours is, and I've gone with him a few times but I don't hunt myself either. He and the kids eat the meat, I don't care for it, so I always have something else when they eat deer, rabbit, etc.....
Ok, now for real I'm off.

Good WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY Morning!
Hope the scales are kind to you all. I'm not stepping on mine, for sure,:nono: esp. since TOM decided to show it's ugly face last night! I feel like the Michelin Man!
Just got home, went to my DS'S house. Was able to do some "water aerobics" or at least what I think what I was doing would be called that. Didn't get to swim because I took the baby in the pool with me. DS snapped some digital pics which I hope to see, not me, but the baby. She was looking so adorable with her bare butt. The worst part, she was blowing gas right in my face!!!!!!:^:
ELI is off today, but not off really. He volunteered to do a coffee cupping at the office today, basically, a coffee tasting. Since it's voluntary for those to join he doesn't know who will come and for how long, so can't make any type of plans today. Have to get kids from school and tonight is open house. Another time I have to go to school 4 times today:rolleyes: Almost would of been 5 times since MICHAEL left his glasses home and if we had been any farther or later I would have had to make another trip to the school to take them.
Didn't get a full nights sleep again. Was able to sleep from about midnight til about 4:30am and then ELI started coughing and gosh, when he coughs, the whole damn bed shakes!
Okay, gonna get in some replies here...
TEENSY, sorry to say, but the fish being in a jar, it just doesn't look so appetizing to me now - reminds me of something in a chemistry lab:eek: Now that salsa looks delish. I'll skin the canned venison too.;) How long does it take for you all to eat all you can? How long does it stay good for?
SEF, busy, busy! We should rename you BUSYWOMAN! You never cease to amaze me, I know I say it a lot, but I really mean it. Instead of you slowing down you seem to find the time and energy to do more all the time. SEF, 3 days, stay 3 days 100% OP and you'll be well on your way-it's those first 3 days that are the killer to get through it seems.
FRUIT, whoa, that's a big drop. Gosh, if that's just after 1 day, can you imagine after 1 week, 1 month? I think you need a good old dose of some SB GALS more often!!!!
WOOD, :bravo:
JEC, I was a 48DDD at my heaviest (and that probably wasn't a bra that fit me right either) and at my lowest, a D. Unfortunately, these boobies look like deflated balloons!

Deb, Right now I'm a 42DDD/F, in high school when I weighed around 140 I was still like a 38/40D. Mine already look like deflated balloons, if they ever do go down any they'll prob be down around my ankles! One thing though, WHEN I get this weight off and if I continue to have back probs, the military should let me go on and get a reduction, not that I'm looking forward to "going under the knife" for such a thing, but it would be nice to have my top in proportion with the bottom. My body is weird, I've never had the probs most women have with the big butt and thighs, mine is in my boobs and belly, I guess I'm apple shaped, look like a potato standing on toothpicks.

Good WIW everyone!! I had a few minutes, so thought I'd drop in. I ended up buying a new camcorder yesterday. I've given up hope that I'll ever get the old one back:( . I was at 123.5 # this morning, so the scale is coming down a bit again. I ate a yogurt with flax meal and nuts this morning, and am going to have some zucc. bread in a little while.
Going to our MOM's Club outing this morning and then taking DD to school and youngest DD to doctor for check-up. S/B a pretty busy day.
I didn't get to the gym this morning like every other Wed. morning. DH forgot and scheduled a follow-up eye appt. for 7:45 a.m. I will go tomorrow a.m. instead.
fruit: You've done fantastic.....6# in 3 days??? Keep up the great work!
Wood: Congrats on the 2.5#; that's wonderful.
jecrites: I am waiting a few more weeks to make my Wal-mart run. I plan on doing a 60-day layaway and time it to where we can pick it up on Christmas Eve. We dont' have anywhere to stash the stuff until then. I'll have DH pick it up and keep it in the back of the truck until that night. Also, I'd like it to feel a little more like holiday weather. We are breaking records here at 100 degrees still. I did have a breast reduction. Before kids, I was a 38C, which was manageable, but still too big for my frame (5'5", and 115-117 #'s at that time). I had a friend who would try to set me up on dates and tell guys that I was really skinny with BIG BOOBS. What a nice friend; I'm sure all those guys wanted to go out with me because I was just a nice person, eh? Anyway, after having kids, I was a 40/42DD, and that was really squeezing. We took Britt to Disneyland for her third birthday and I bought a really supportive sports bra so I could ride the rides and stuff. Well, after two 12-14 hour days, I couldn't even lift my arms above my head to take my shirt off. My neck, back and shoulders hurt so bad. I can't imagine being any bigger (as it sounds like you and Deb are). My breast were very heavy too. Insurance did end up paying for my surgery, but I had to fight for every penny. I woke up from surgery 3 1/2 pounds lighter. They removed 3 1/2 pounds of fat from my breast. I will tell you that it is the best thing I ever did for myself. That is what gave me the incentive to continue losing weight. I always wore baggy clothes to cover my breast, and still find that I have to correct my posture, since I would lean forward out of self-consciousness. Anyway, if you do decide to go through with it, remember that I am here to talk to. It wasn't fun or pretty, and I still have some faint scars to show for it, but they will continue to fade. I have not had any pain since! AND, I am now a 36B/34C and LOVE it. I wouldn't change it for anything in the world. People who don't know that I did this make comments sometimes like, "wouldn't it be nice to be big-busted?" I laugh under my breath, and say, "yeah, right." Wow, that was a novel.
Deb: Why don't you just set up camp at school and stay there throughout the week? How do you survive on so little sleep? I would be such a BEAR. I am cranky when I don't get much sleep. As far as boobies are concerned, I just wrote a book to jecrites about it above.
Well, I really better go get myself and kiddos dressed so we can get outta here!!
Have a great day, all!!!

Hello, everyone. Sorry I haven't been here lately. Deb, please don't drop me from your list. I've been sick off and on for a couple of weeks. I'm not sure what I've had. I felt like something heavy was sitting on my chest and I've had a cough that has kept me up most nights. The only way I can sleep is in my recliner. I'm still coughing, but it's not as deep as it was.
One good thing, I've had some time at home to read Dr. Phil's book and do a lot of thinking about the weight issue. I'm finally back on track today. I weighed and I'm down 3 lbs from last week. I'm out of the 280's and in the 270's again. I'm making a commitment to myself to never see 280 again. I'm also planning to (gasp!) walk at lunch today. My poor body may go into shock. I hate the thought of all the loose skin I'm going to have, but I'm just going to start saving my money for a tummy tuck! Maybe ABC will still be doing the Extreme Makeover after I lose the weight and I can get it done for free!!
Gotta catch up on my work. Have a great day!

Hey All:wave:
Just got rid of ELI, I mean, ELI just left:s: Gonna go jump in the shower and go to BB&B & Linen's and Things to see what they have to offer in the way of nukers.
JEC & PANCHO if there was a way to just lift the saggy boobs I have and fix it, I'd do it. I don't want an implant of any sort. I hate that when I sit without a bra that they hang to where my belly button is, but I guess it's better than it use to be where my stomach AND boobs would rest on my thighs:fr: When I lay on my back, one goes due east and the other due west. One day they'll be looking like they're attached to my back!!! It's NOT just the boobs either, I have the fat rolls right under the bra strap and the fat the blossoms up between the under arm of the bra and my underarms. Heck, if I had everything pulled up and tightened my public hair would look like a beard on my face!!!
PANCHO, when I don't get enough sleep I get crabby, to put it nicely. Here's hoping tonight is better (again)!
LIBRA, sorry to hear you're not feeling well and having such a hard time. Don't worry, won't delete you, just wanted to send out the possee for a few wayward that we hadn't heard from in a little while, just to let you know we were wondering what you and some others were up to. Glad to hear you're back on track. Maybe we can do a 2-4-1 deal with EM!!!

Hey Everybody!!! I weighed in this morning at .5 pounds lighter. I know it isn't much, but a half a pound is better than nothing. Last week I had not lost an ounce..not one lousy ounce. If I would have spit before I got on the scale I should have seen at least an ounce reduction.......HAHA
Fruit- Way to go on the weight loss. Stay on plan GIRL!!!! You can do it. 3 days and counting!!!!!!
Deb- Hope you have success in finding a microwave, so Eli won't be denied his popcorn for another day.
I enjoyed everyone's post about heavy chests and sagging skin. I can totally relate as my upper body resembles something out of a National Geographic magazine....Have a great day everyone!!!

Good morning! Its such a beautiful day here today! Its about 75 right now and the high is only suppose to go up to 79-80ish! Not a cloud in the sky! Needless to say we will be spending the entire day outside on the swingset with DS and my nieces. Didnt do any kind of weigh in today...I drank a little over the weekend so Im scared to go on! :)
Went to publix yesterday and thanks to cell phones i was able to call deb about a dressing i got. Its Walden farms...I got the Blue cheese...its not maries but its pretty good for being calorie free, fat free and sugar free. Im gonna try the Ranch next time. I also had a sweet tooth last night so I found a recipe on here...it was the easiest thing in the world to make. Its called "Quick chocolate Cheesecake" OMG it was sooo good. Its made with cream cheese and FF/SF pudding. It was kinda like a choc. mousse. Deb happened to call while I was eating it...I wont tell you what she said I sounded like when I was eating it! LOL!
TEENSY - Im trying to get focused...really I am! :)
PANCHO - Well now that my butts all sore from the kick...How the heck am I gonna work out??
BOB - I love Yankee candles the best too! thats all I buy! I like them better than Party Lite.
FRUIT - Great job on the big loss....thats incredible!
DEB - HI! :) Is the weather there nice today too?? Your posts crack me up! You are tooooo funny!
Have a great day guys!

Third time trying to post this pic of BAILEY from this morning, hope it works!
Good, it worked. This is a weird pic, of me I mean. If you saw this clearer, first, I don't know why I have this funky looking face, but I swear it looks like I have fangs like a vampire and I'm just looking for a place on BAILEY'S neck to bite her!

Hi, everybody!! Well, let's just get WIW out of the way first. Still holding at 229 which is great considering the week-end I had. I'll take it. I finally got back to the treadmill on Monday, did 20 minutes on Monday and 25 minutes yesterday. Hooray for me! Joe has been doing 30 minutes every morning for the last week and a half so he guilted me in to it. Whatever it takes, I guess.
I just back from lunch. Do ya'll have Souper Salads where you are? It's a salad bar type place that has soup, salad, and other stuff. The one near my office is great. They make this really good salad with chick peas, tomato, feta and a really light tasting vinaigrette. Looks very simple.
I booked the airfare for our trip to San Diego to see Jordan graduate in December. It had been running almost $300 per person, but I looked yesterday and it was down to $200. I booked it in a hurry. Got the room and rental car so we're all set. December just has to get here.
Have a good day everyone.

Hey everyone
I'm home from school early! I threw up and have the trots. So, I left a couple of hours early to come and handle my business here at home. They have a virus going around school and it must be my turn. So, I'm off to bed! Talk to y'all tomorrow!

Good to see what you finally look like Deb. Wish I had a pic to download. Unfortunately can't find my digital camera. Ah Poo!!!
As to the earlier discussion about your chest sizes, do you mean I can lose my 38 DD if I lose weight? That would be so cool!!! I have lose weight before and never lost my DD size before. I thought the only way to shrink them was to do them surgically which I am not too keen on doing.
I'm still reading SB and haven't started the plan yet so be patient with me okay. I have a two year old and trying to find time to read as well as working full time is tough but I will do it.

Hey!
I'm back and waiting on hubby to call me to go pick him up from work. His truck won't start. This always happens when the weather turns from hot to cold. He said this time he thinks it's the starter, oh what joy.:s:
Autumn made an autumn tree at the library today. That's sounds so funny. It was just an empty toilet paper roll and a paper plate cut like a moon and they glued cut up tissue paper on them. It turned out really cute. She gave it to the librarian.
Pancho, I would like to have a reduction done, but also kind of scared of it too. Thing is, with the military, at least this is what I was told by someone so I don't know if it's actually true or not, anyway, she said that they won't do one unless you are at your "ideal" weight. Well I've often wondered how they can say something like that when I know for a fact that if I was to go down to like 125 or smaller I'd look funny, I'm 5'4" and a medium frame, and just picturing myself that small and then having a reduction, there'd be nothing left of me. Yeah I want to get "skinny" but not just skin and bone either. I'm shooting for 140, maybe 135 or somewhere inbetween, heck right now I'd be happy to see plain old 190! My MIL and SIL both have small boobies and have said things in the past about wanting bigger ones and I always tell them they can have some of mine or no really they don't want big ones either. I'll have to remember to talk with my doc about it when I see her again next month and see what she tells me. Thank you for your "novel" it's nice to know I'm not the only one who has/had this prob. Geez, mine's a novel too!
Deb, I know what you mean about that. My armpits look like they have attachments when I lay down with no bra on. Had to laugh about the beard though, just the thought of it! I got my friend at Barksdale a birthday card today and it said something to the effect of when you get older you save money on bras, just tuck them suckers in your pants. Of course I LOL in the store, but couldn't resist getting the card for her anyway. Good thing we're good friends. I think I could just about tuck these suckers in my pants, heck, sometimes I use them to help hold up my pants if they have worn out elastic and I'm just gonna be around the house. Cute pic of Bailey!
Off to listen to my new c.d. I got while I was out! Talk to y'all later.

AFTERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!
BEAUTIFUL DAY over here on the WEST COAST OF FLA!! It's been around 76 all day, and supposed to be in the low 60's tonight...just might have to throw open the windows and let that nice breeze come on in!
ABOUT THE BOOBS....BOB has NO BOOBS, and BOB has no arse!
Even at my heaviest....I've just never been blessed! They are at that hanging stage, but I blame that on my age!
NOW...as for DEBBIES....I've shared nights in a hotel with her, and she's not joshing y'all about them...in a queen sized bed, she's in the middle, and her boobs are hanging over the side
NOW....MISSY has new ones, but she hasn't let us see them yet... :nono:
I have a friend in Lexington that had her's reduced and they took 8lbs off of each side. Now mind you she wasn't overwieght at all, in fact, she is a little petite thing...when she got out of be for the first time, they had to teach her all over again about how to walk.
She went face first because of the balance...she was a sight to behold!
CHRIS...have you been to that YANKEE CANDLE store at BRANDON MALL? I haven't been to it yet, but I hear it's really nice.
Y'all are KILLING ME with all this talk about Christmas...I've bought 1 gift so far and that's IT!!!

Hello all:
What a busy day! Delaney did not take a nap before our MOM's Club OUting, so she wasn't in the best of moods (enough said). Britt enjoyed herself.
Delaney had to get 3 shots today; I thought it was only going to be 1. I talked to the Dr. in depth about her "attitude." He gave me one word.....consistency! He said I can't be firm at home and then cave when I am in public and everyone is watching. He said that she is driven and strong-willed, which are great attributes when she gets older....usually means they are successful later in life. It probably means their parents aren't around to experience it;) . Some lady told her at Walgreens that she was too loud and to be quiet today....I almost told the lady that she was a *itch and to be quiet herself. You get so defensive when it comes to your kids. Doc also said the apple usually doesn't fall too far from the tree, so I'll have to curse my husband out when he gets home:lol: .
I plan to get to the gym tomorrow morning. I have to admit also that I've been suckered into the Bachelor. It is the only show I watch, other than the news. I can't watch any shows that are on earlier than 8:00, since it is bathtime, storytime, playtime, etc.. I will pop my little mini bag of popcorn and watch my little show....am I pathetic or what? Maybe I should rent a few movies or something!
Deb: I don't have implants, but my boobs are pretty firm now from the doc. tightening the skin after removing all the fat. They are not anything like implants, but aren't hanging down to my belly button anymore. He did have to lipo around the armpits and side fat to make everything look in proportion. I never intended to get implants, even if I came out "flatter" than I envisioned. It is nice not to have to put on a bra just to run out for a gallon of milk. I also hated to not wear a bra due to the sweat factor...yuck! They aren't hanging down now so I take my bra off as soon as I walk in the door. It still seems strange to see my ribs. I used to always think I was short waisted, but I guess I was just long boob-ed. Precious picture of your niece. Get yourself a cape and you'll be all set for Halloween:lol: .
chrisd: Yummy....chocolate cheesecake. Is that listed under the cake section? I'd love to try it. Funny about the sore butt comment....I'll give you a day or two to get rid of the bruises, but then no more excuses:p .
Fruit: Hope you feel better soon!
jecrites: Well I do have to say....let that BR be your incentive to lose the weight. I think all insurance companies are that way. I was 138 pounds when I had it done, and they had to take pictures of me from the neck down to send to the insurance company to prove that they were out of proportion to the rest of my body. I think they take other things into consideration as well.
BOB: You are 1 gift ahead of me. I haven't purchased a thing yet.
Well, Delaney is screaming so I better run.
I'll check in tomorrow a.m.

I'm back.
Well we picked up hubby from work and then took him to his "other" job and headed to Wal-Mart. Needless to say I spent too much and didn't get a darn thing. I couldn't do any Christmas shopping either, had the kids with me. I guess I'll have to wait until next weekend when the inlaws are here and leave the kids at home with hubby and his dad. They'll have a fit, but I have to get something done and if that's the only way to do it then so be it.
Have to go p/u the old fart when they get done with their job, I think they are working on a piece of road somewhere. They had already fixed the mess and then it rained and washed it away, so this is the second attempt. Just hope it don't rain again!:o
I've got a little bit of a headache right now so gonna get in a couple of replies and then get off here for the night.
BOB, All I can say about that item on e-bay is OH MY GAWD!!!! The things you can find on there.
Pancho, I can't stand it when strangers try to "correct" my kids for me either. I don't know how many times I've had that happen to me since I've had these kids, and it doesn't matter how many times it happens, it still pisses you off. There's gonna come a day when someone does it and I'm in the wrong mood and I'm gonna go off on them, but it won't do no good because it'll just be someone else somewhere else.
Talk to y'all tomorrow. Sweet dreams, (you to Deb)!

Don't want to take up much space on this Board but to say "GO MARLINS!!!" Hope I didn't offend anyone rooting for the Cubs. I just met you guys and consider you to be a great support to me as I go through trying to lose the weight and getting my blood sugar levels under control. Even though I am type two diabetic, I actually made myself wear a medical ID bracelet in the case something happens to me and the hospital is not aware that I am a diabetic. Seems like a good idea.
Well I'm off to reading more of the SB book and watching the baseball game.
Night!

Hi everybody,
I'm so sorry for staying away so long. My computer was down and after that I was sick with stomach bacteria, YUK YUK YUK!!! I literally stayed sick to my stomach. Then the meds that were required made be even sicker. I asked pharmacist if there was other meds I could take and her response was that most meds for what I had make most people sick. I have recovered, thank God.
I can tell ya one thing, it is good to be back. I have been trying to catch up on reading and it is quite time consuming. I have had many laughs tonight. Deb talking about her boobs and the picture, not to mention Bob's link to e-bay...whew!!! If someone was standing outside of my door was listening, they would have thought someone was here with me.
I'll be back in the morning. Have a good nite. I really missed being here.
See ya later,

Hi Everybody!
Missed WIW, but I broke the 220 mark, and am at 218.5 as of yesterday!
I have been insanely busy.... but have been managing to stay OP! And I have managed to drink the required amount of water! I have been using recipes (main dishes) from the board here--lifesavers some evenings! So I will have to post one of my legal ones in return.
This is a short short post, but some quick replies:
Debelli & Michael -- yes French (and any language) is a spoken language first in my mind. Hence my decision to use Berlitz which focuses on conversation. I really needed to rent an apartment and eat and drink, not read Victor Hugo. Notice that I was motivated to learn to write in French *only* when I couldn't write a check ! LOL!
Big Orange Babe-- HOW could I NOT click through to the eBay item? LOL! ANd to think I have been on eBAy off/on the last two days without finding this hysterical item.
Other replies to follow. I *am* hoping to take longer than 10 minutes for lunch today. I am frantically putting together three presentations for the Society for Neuroscience meeting in New Orleans in early November. Of course, I thought of some late-minute *absolutely* essential esperiments....and still wrangling the hotel room.
Ciao!

Good morning y'all.
I've got my 3 days of exercise done but hopeing to go on and finish out the week and maybe walk on the TM some over the weekend too. I have nothing else to do, so why not?
I know if I don't see a loss next week I'm not gonna be happy at all. You all know I haven't done any kind of exercise in a long long time, unless you count running up and down the basement stairs for laundry on weekends or when I can't find something up here. My eating yesterday was ok, just didn't eat enough, didn't have time. I've got to find something for breakfast now though, the ol' tum tum is a growling.
It's supposed to rain this afternoon, I'm kind of hoping it will so hubby will be at home. With his truck being "broke" right now he's taking my car and Katie has computer club after school and has to be picked up at 5. It's a pain to take him and drop him off.
Gonna go find something for breakfast now, can't stand the hunger pains any longer. I'll check back later.

Good Thursday Morning All:wave:
Just got home. Went to my DS's house and swam. Then watched BAILEY for a few before her friend came to watch her this morning. Def. pooped!
Oh, I know what I forgot to mention...the other day, I was at Publix with MICHAEL and OMG, my FAVORITE ice cream that only comes in during the holidays has made it's arrival! It's PEPPERMINT STICK! Now, I have to say I was salivating and breathing heavily on the freezer doors but I left them closed and didn't buy any. BUT, I will forewarn that I will be scarfing down some in the near future - there's just NO way I'm not going to, I've been dying for this since last season. What will keep me at bay will be waiting for it to go on sale, I won't splurge til it does. Oh, and for those of you who have Publix in your area, has anyone tried this new ice cream RED VELVET CAKE? It's one of my favorite cakes my DM makes, but in ice cream. Gawd forbid they should have a 2-4-1 sale on ice cream any time soon - I'll admit, I'll be a goner!:s:Since I actually started this post yesterday, I came to find out that Publix has this on sale this week!:fr: I'm going to at least hold out til the end of the sale!!!)
JACKIEO, poor ELI? Don't you worry, he has his bases covered, he bought some regular popcorn to help him during these times, problem is, he keeps burning it!
CHRIS, not a bad day yesterday, but very cloudy here. Just waiting for a bit of cold weather to come, but I won't hold my breath that it will happen any time soon though I have to say it's an absolutely gorgeous day so far today! Glad you liked the dressing - LMK how the ranch is. They have some good bbq sauces too but I still like my recipe the best.:)
TRISH, when you go to SD you MUST find a TRADER JOES!!!! Even COST PLUS is fun to run around at. I love SD, it's my fav. city I think! If you have ANY time at all, take a drive up to JULIAN, it's gorgeous up there but as for the town, you can throw a rock from end to end. Maybe during that time may not be good, I was there in Jan and there was snow on the ground - first time I had seen any in my life!!!! No Souper Salads down here, they have Sweet Tomato. I don't like it there though, just another buffet to me.
FRUIT, hope you are feeling better today! Remind me next time we actually talk to tell you the ELI trot story - you'll die laughing!
MOM, actually, there's lots of pics on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS on our SB PHOTO ALBUM thread - you can see lots of us on there:) Yep, you CAN lose your boobies, but in my case, it looks more like a deflation:shrug:
JEC, thanks for letting my armpits know they have siblings across the US! It's funny when I see people complaining about how they can grab an inch - I can grab a handful and still have more to grab!!!
BOB, you are a hoot! What the heck are you looking for on Ebay that would make you find THAT! I agree with TRISH, too much time on your hands. Better go out and walk then look at all that filthy trash:s: Thanks for confirming all I've said about the bod-these gals think I'm joshing!!!!
PANCHO, get to the gym today? I can't remember the last time I went without a bra, maybe 6th grade? Heck, I can't remember when they didn't need a bra, maybe 6th grade?
AGAPE, glad to see you back in more ways than one!!!!:D
EMMA, CONGRATS on reaching new number territory!! You're doing great:bravo: MICHAEL thank goodness knows another language, unlike his DM who knows just a tad of Espanol. He's much like my cousin in many ways and I hope he develops other languages like she has, though he'll never reach her status of knowing 7 languages, but another one would be nice.
Okay, I'm starving and have to go find something to eat. Will check in later.

Morning!
I hopped on the metal monster, and was pleased that I am now only 1 pound above my all time low. Not sure what the key is here, as I have not been totally good. It follows no rhyme or reason when I lose! I am hoping it contines though...and perhaps into new territory!
I have two loaves of ww bread in the oven. The weather has turned cool and its time to start making my own again. I mix it and let it raise in the ABM, then take it out to knead lightly, form and raise before baking in the oven. I think the texture turns out better.
I had a chat with my boss yesterday. He gets these ideas from somewhere...who knows where. He thought I did not want to work on Fridays. Well, I would rather not, but I never told him that. I told him I would be willing to work on Fridays if he needed me, he just never scheduled me on Fridays. He was kind of surprised, and I came to realize my one scheduled day next week was again, his method of punishing me for making him mad about something. Its subtle and I can't prove it, but it sure fits. Anyway, he told me if I wanted to come in tomorrow to work, that would be great. So I will. Right now, I have a goal in mind. I want to buy a some dining room furniture, a new dishwasher, and furniture for the kitchen. I can get it all a lot faster if I am working and saving $$ each week. So I will continue to work until it is honestly unbearable. It is not there yet! :s:
DEB: Thanks for the heads up on the Publix Ice Cream. I did notice they had egg nog flavor in the other day. I will look for the red velvet and the peppermint stick. In my opinion, if you are going to cheat, ice cream is one of the better things to cheat with. Its not that high in sugar, and relatively low in carbs.... Am I justifying here?
JECRITES: I sure hope you see the loss you are hoping for. I certainly know the frustration of being good, and not seeing any results. If you are apple shaped, like you mentioned, you might have some insulin problems that make losing difficult. If so, you might want to read Montignac's book for more info on healing the insulin problems. It takes three months of NO cheating, and keeping relatively low on the glycemic index.
EMMA: I hope your presentations go well! Congrats on the loss!
AGAPE: Good to see you back! I am sorry you have been sick.
MOM: I chuckled over your Go Marlins... I am from Chicago and my family is all for the Cubs. My brother in law explains the Cubs fans attitude as, "Maybe next year". He has said this for years...guess he is saying it now, huh?
PANCHO: It is amazing how perfect strangers will comment on your kids behavior. I am sure they mean well, in a condescending sort of way! Its hard enough to deal with the embarrassment without someone pointing it out to you. I am often tempted to comment when I see parents doing things I consider abusive...like yelling at a kid, saying negative things to them, but I usually keep my mouth shut. If they are pitching a fit and the mom looks distressed, I usually try and smile and say something reassuring, since all kids do that at sometime or another! Heck, MINE did! I think a lot of the overbearing busy bodies never had kids, and think its easy! A friend of mine had a great T-Shirt that said, "Motherhood is NOT for wimps!"
BOB: The things you can find on ebay! Its amazing! Unlike you, I do have boobs...way too much in fact! I sure wish I could give you some of mine!
FRUIT: I hope you are feeling better today. I hate throwing up....I would rather do anything than that! Look on the bright side though...maybe you will lose some from it!
Ok, gotta go check my bread. Will try and get back on here later!

We had a nice walk this morning. The kids are starting on school. And of couse I am online. :) The weight is still more or less the same. My goal this year is to make it through the holidays without a gain. If I can maintain and not have to re-lose I will be a happy camper. If I could lose it would be icing on the :hb:
Oh my gosh...I was smiling at all the saggy boobie stories cause I am small chested and have the same problem. You would think I would have gotten a pass on this part of life considering I'm between an A and a B. :)
Deb.....I love peppermint ice cream. Blue bell makes one that is great. Maybe you could get some of Bob's sugar free peppermints....crush them and mix with some sugar free vanilla ice cream... Let it set overnight or so in the freezer.....I know not the same thing but it might be enough to fight the craving. Your neice is a little cutie.
Trish WTG on the treadmill times!!!! You have really upped the minutes. I know with your heart this is a major accomplishment. COOL BEANS!
Jen....awesome getting in your exercise also. It's so hard after not doing it for a while. Go Jen...your're getting stronger...getting healthy!
Emma....cheering for you too this morning! Awesome on the new low.
WB Agape! Sorry you have been feeling so poorly. Hopefully you will stay well and get strong. ((hugzz))
Ilana....I can't remember if I said hi yet or not. In case I didn't welcome!!!!!
Poncho....you sound like the kinda woman I love to hate...in a good way. :) Skinny and nice breast. Hope you are having a great day and the little one is in a better mood.
Bob....all I can do is shake my head....LOL Too funny.
Missy...hope you are feeling better today.
Monet awesome getting back down to within a pound of your all time low!!!!!
Howdy to everybody else....Toni...Jack-K...JackieO...Kim...Beach...Gator...Sef...SuperDav e...Grant...and everbody I am missing. The children have wandered off and I need to drag their little behinds back in here.
Love and hugs,

Hi! I missed you guys so much. NO was fun but way to long. How many times can you walk up an down Bourbon Street? Not many for me, but DH could all day and night. I guess we are getting old but I think I have done NO enough.
The highlight of the trip was meeting Fruit and JackieO. We had lunch a a pizza place that ww pizza crust. Delish. In fact DH & I went back there on Tuesday. Both girls are delightful. We laughed and laughed. You would have thought we had known each other for years. Missy's husband was so sweet too (& a cutie). He listened to us talk about fat and SB and everything else and went right along with us. AFter lunch we walked around some before Missy left. We were going to do some wild shots for you all but settled for a nice picture. Ashley & I hung out about another hour and walked around. Ashley is so young, sweet and cute. I don't know where she is going to lose another 20 lbs. Missy is just like I expected. So cute & bubbly. I can really see her teaching those first graders and them loving her. She is so likeable. I sure wish I lived closer.
Deb, I tried to convince Terry that we all were sweet ladies and everyone was as nice as we were. Just not sure he bought it or maybe meeting us nixed the whole plan. It was sweet that he was worried about Missy meeting us. My DH never said a word.
The scale was only up 4 lbs this am. Probably mostly the breakfast buffet and Chinese buffet yesterday. Back on track today.
My desk is covered so I don't have time to make replies. Hopefully I can start new tomorrow.
Ashley & Missy, thanks for coming to meet me. I know it was a long haul for you, especially Missy. I really enjoyed it. Missy tell Terry thanks for bringing you. He is a sweetie. Hold onto him.

Gheeez, lots of posts to catch up on!
I weighed 125 this morning; not quite sure how that happend. I guess this being naughty finally caught up to me, but waited until I had a great OP day yesterday to totally confuse me. I'll never figure it out. I did get to the gym this morning and did 5 minutes on eliptical, lower body on circuit & weights and 25 minutes on treadmill. I plan to go tomorrow and Saturday too.
I ordered a pizza stone through abc distributing. I can't wait to get it and try out those pita breads that Deb posted. I also did order a few gifts for the girls for Christmas.
Delaney was really tired after her shots and just cuddled with me all day; made me feel bad for talking about how "bad" she usually is. I love her sooo much and know that she just gets frustrated that she can't express herself. Britt is in Kindergarten and there is already a little girl that is not nice to her. This little girl told her that she doesn't like her and that she is not her friend. She was also laughing at Britt when she was making 2's on the white board. Why does it start so young? It really pisses me off, and how can I be pissed off at a 5-year old. I guess I am just frustrated because this is her first "real" year of school, and it could set the tone for years to come. Everyday when I drop her off, I whisper in her ear, "Remember that Mommy loves you no matter what." I want her to know that she is loved!
Anyway....I plan on dropping Britt off at school and then coming home for about 90 minutes to make lunch before having to go back to pick her up.
jecrites: I know what you mean; I had to bite my tongue to keep from saying anything. Delaney is too young to understand what is going on, but I really try to watch my behavior when Britt is with me because she picks up on so much and I want to set a good example. Hope your taxi-cab days are over soon.
Mom: IS THERE A LIMIT TO SPACE ON THIS BOARD:eek:. I must have hit my limit by Monday:lol: . Your Marlins did it, congratulations to them and you. Great idea on the ID bracelet; you can never be too careful.
agape: Welcome back.
Emma: Way to break that 220 mark. Good job; I hope the losses continue for you.
Deb: Don't go crazy with the ice cream; save some for me:lol: . I actually like the chocolate, caramel, nutty stuff....not too keen on the mint stuff. Red Velvet sounds interesting enough to try though. I did get to the gym early this morning, and it felt great to get that workout in early.
Monet: Wish there was a key to figuring it all out. My weight fluctuates for no good reason. I am not so good for 3-4 days and maintain, and then I stay OP well for a day or two and gain....go figure!! I guess it's all in moderation, and I have to just keep an eye on it. Congrats on being where you are; hopefully you can get below that all time low...just a few #'s to go. Great shirt your friend had; everyday is a new adventure, it seems.
Country: I think that is a very realistic goal for all of us....to maintain over the holidays. If I can do that, then I have accomplished something. Even if I had more weight to lose, I think I would give myself that goal to maintain throughout the holidays, so I don't feel deprived, but don't go overboard either. Have a great day!
Jack-K: Welcome back! It sounds as if you had a great time with Fruit & Ashley. How fun to meet other SB family. You'll drop those 4#'s in no time.
chrisd: Glad your behind is getting better; you can't sue for lost exercise time, can you?;) . Thanks for the easy cheesecake recipe; I will be trying it when I drop these two pounds I picked up somewhere in the past few days.
Take care all, and I hope to check in later.

Hey All:wave:
Oye va is meir! I've been in MICHAEL'S bedroom for a few hours TRYING to get that pig sty somewhat straightened up. That child has more clothes than a store! I've found, when I've told him to put clothes away, he'll just stuff whatever, wherever and thus, he's broken the bottoms of the drawers. I've been in there with the hammer, nails and wood glue. One bottom is cracked but I think it will hold if he stops doing this. He won't be too happy when he comes home but I'm not happy either. I spent a lot of money trying to make this room look nice and he has a lot of drawers in there to put the stuff away in properly.
There's tons of laundry, dirty, clean, who knows, I just threw it all together. Took all the stuff out of the drawers trying to organize it. I just have gotten so disgusted! There's one good thing about him going to college, at least I know that room will be clean!!! I'm not cleaning it all, :nono: but I'm going to give him one task to accomplish today and that's go through tons and tons of papers. He can't say no, there's no school tomorrow, so he can't use the excuse that he has something due tomorrow! Did we have this much crap when we were this young??? I don't think so!:nono:
Okay, not sure how many of you have noticed little tidbits in posts, how many of you that are on my e-mail list that got my e-mail about a week ago asking a general question, but I figured that some of you may be wondering what the heck you are reading about, so here goes...as many of you know, we have had quite a few SB GET TOGETHERS over the past few years, many of you taking part in such wonderful events, flying in from all over and having an awesome time. Basically, they've all been up in the Orlando area, hosted by SOLSHINE. BUT, this coming year, we thought possibly we could do something a little different, somewhere a little different and a place that was a bit more centrally located so more could join (of course, I think I'd have the longest drive of anyone). We thought about FRUIT in Louisiana! She has a huge home that I'm sure would be able to accomodate all that would love to join, esp. with the help of blow up beds in addition to what she has already. We thought about doing this the end of Feb., as she has time off for Mardi Gras, which we'd tie in to the get together and watch her on Monday night, ride her float and throw us beads and other goodies (oh gosh, you have to see what I found for us to wear!!!). Anyhow, it's now her job to convince DH to allow this. BUT, if he doesn't want massive amounts of estrogen invading his home in an overnight manner we can try and do what we've done in the past and rent hotel rooms and share the expenses and then possibly host the activites at FRUITS home. So, this is what's in the works at this time. Nothing definite but something to keep your mind open to as I'd love to see many of you who haven't been able to come to past get togethers, hopefully find this would be much easier to come to and would do so. Also, keep in mind you can come for one day or all the days, it's up to you. So far, BOB, TRANQUIL & SERENE are ready to take the drive with me. Anyone else think they're game? Oh, I know YELLOWROSE said she'd be there too!!!:D
Forgot to mention, went to OUTBACK for dinner last night. We had a wonderful waitress named JENE' who was the most accomodating person EVER! I wasn't all that hungry and even if I was, I still bring most of my meals home in a box, so I asked her if I could get the JOEY SIRLOIN from the kids menu and explained that I had had my stomach stapled and don't really eat that much. She totally understood, both her twin brothers had the surgery (just that mine was almost 20 years ago, though I didn't mention that). It was perfect! It's about 4oz of meat, I'd say, and instead of the fries that come with it, I got steamed veggies and also a side salad with just lettuce, tom. and cuke with crumbled blue cheese on the side - used about 2 tbl. Perfect amount for me! I've actually done this at another OB once before but they then had the nerve to charge me extra, and I didn't even get the free drink! So this girl, she really shined in my eyes! We gave her a SB coupon:D She was happy, the coupon AND a nice tip! The restautants are so accomodating these days, it never hurts to ask for subs!!!!
OPEN HOUSE at the school wasn't too bad. You take 5 minutes to go from class to class and sit 8 minutes in the class to hear the teacher. I had to run to half of LAUREN'S classes and half to MICHAEL'S class to be fair. MICHAEL'S first class had only 3 parents, but then again, there's only 8 kids in the class total. I'm really hoping MICHAEL will opt for a FL state Univ., he'd be able to skip his Freshman year from what his teacher said. That sure would be nice! One of LAUREN'S teachers looks sooo young, like a student! Parents couldn't wait to leave to run home and watch the Marlins beat the Cubs!!!:D
OMG, last night when we went to bed, well, I can't tell you all what exactly happened, but let's just say, ELI had a bit of a gas problem - the OUTCOME of what happened had me laughing hysterically for a good 20 minutes:lol: Laughing so hard I was crying and laughing uncontrollably. I had such a hard time going to sleep. I'd lie there and think about it and just burst out laughing all over again. I'm surprised I didn't wake up the kids!!!!
Okay, now, this ice cream issue I have to deal with. I wish there was a way to be able to have some and stop. The only thing I can come up with is to ask my neighbor if she has space in her freezer for it once it was opened? I mean, that's tacky and boy, it sure shows no willpower on my part. I guess I could just not buy any at all and wait for the next sale, which I know there will most definitely be during the time they are carrying this ice cream. I really WANT to eat some, but it doesn't have to be right now. I'm at 1 week of being 100% OP and really don't want to screw it up, though, if I eat it all in one shot, and nothing else for the day, it would get it out of the way. :s: Once I open it, that's it! I'm a goner! I'm even thinking about re-organizing the freezer so when they have a REALLY good sale on it, I will stock up. I mean, I DREAM about this ice cream! I even think of ways I could make it myself with vanilla ice cream and ground up candy canes! I'm a sick puppy!!!!!!!!!!! Okay, maybe talking about this will be theraputic:shrug:
MONET, that's wonderful that you are so close to your low again! I can't wait til you tell us you're in new territory!!! Bought a new bread book at the used book store yesterday. Haven't really had time to sit down and read it, but it looked interesting. I have to find out how to convert the amount of regular sugar that is called for in a bread recipe to honey so it's equivalent-any ideas? Well, I like your idea about the ice cream, and I can see that with Breyers, but with Publix brand, it's all crap that's in it, all those preservatives, corn syrups, etc. Did you ever see the ice cream diet that was in Prevention about a year or so ago, they do say it's good, because of the calcium. My problem is it's the AMOUNT I eat-there's no willpower when it comes to that, or chocolate:shrug:
COUNTRY, your ice cream sub sounds interesting but honestly, once you have something in your mind, I don't think anything will come close and if you substitute I believe not only will you eat the sub., you'll also eat the regular, at least that's what I'd figure myself to do. As I said to MONET, it's the amount I eat. If I could just eat a 1/2 cup then I doubt it would do anything to my weight loss efforts, but I've NEVER been able to eat a 1/2 cup - now if we are talking about a 1/2 gallon, then, we're talking:yes:
JACKK, WELCOME BACK!!! So glad you had a nice trip, except for the trapsing up and down BS more than you'd of liked. I'm so happy you had a good time with JACKIEO & FRUIT. What you said, You would have thought we had known each other for years. is said by EVERYONE who meets another board member. It's so true!!! We really have an unusually wonderful group of people on this board and it shows when we finally get to meet up:D Hoping with you meeting TERRY that he'll give in - personally, I think he's afraid of too much estrogen taking over for a weekend, it may be too much for him. If he's not keen on the idea of us taking over his abode, maybe we can do just what we've done in the past - hotels and host a party at FRUITS house. I'll be hoping you'll join us too! Waiting to see what pics you have to show - hopefully it won't take as long as waiting to see the pic of you;)
CHRIS, I'm sure you'll be calling me from the HFS when you go on Saturday - a few things to look for, the agave (ask about case pricing), Aunt Gussies (the spelt varieties are the best) westbrae unketchup (no sugar in it and delish) the Fern cake mixes (carob and spice are the best), ummm, not sure what else at the moment. Yep, I'll be glue to the boob tube for Survivor as well, so will BOB!
PANCHO, I would stop getting on the scale each day at this point. You're body is gong to fluctuate up and down for various reasons and just the fact you are staying within this same area, you should be happy. I would only weigh once a week, your being driven nuts - I know, I've been there!!!! Sorry, when it comes to ice cream, I'm stingy:s:
Okay, gotta go get in the shower, stop at the HFS, the library and get the kids. Oh boy, no school tomorrow, I can sleep in?????????

What??!! Another SB get-together!!! Definitely count me in if it's over a week-end. I've got too much time off from work already scheduled with Jordan's boot camp grad and then our cruise in April, but I could probably squeeze in a Friday or a Monday. Crystle, if I drove, I could come pick you up on the way!!! Are you with me?
For those of you that have never done this, it's the best!!! My DH had some misgivings as well, keeps calling Deb "that psycho woman". Deb, I promise I have no idea where he got that! He was afraid I was going to fly to Florida to meet all these weird mass murderers or something.
Deb, I'll definitely try to find a Trader Joes while I'm out there. Although, I may have to pack an extra suitcase to bring stuff back on the plane (Lyn are you listening?). We actually have a Cost Plus here. They are loads of fun to shop in. That's where I buy my wine. They have the best selection at the best prices, not that I buy very much, of course. Don't ya just love outback. They'll also let you order off their lunch menu at dinner too. I've been know to get their burger, loaded up and leave off the bread and served with mushrooms or veggies.
I think we're going camping next week-end. Don't ask me how I agreed to this, but I think there was some of the above wine involved. I don't even like to camp. We're going with another couple so I guess it will be fun. We'll see. The weather here has been great, let's hope it holds out.
Tonight, we're going to dinner at a new restaurant that is run by the Culinary School here in Austin. They have to do a 3 month rotation at the restaurant working under a chef before they graduate. It's getting great reviews and is supposed to be awesome.
Oh, and my take on the latest hot topics: Boobs - too much and droopy, Ice Cream - Not the be all, end all. Give me chocolate any day!
Later, guys!

Today has been one of those days...good thing I have lots of hair..LOL
Poncho....I won't be eating more and hoping to maintain. I'm hoping to pass on most of the goodies. It's really goofy...I have to work my tail off to maintain. Every holiday I start to go off...what I consider just a little and I have 5 to10 pounds on before I know it and have to lose them all over again...hopefully not this year.
Deb....could you seperate your ice cream into portions and put it in different places in the freezer? I had to do that with the basmati rice. It's hard to believe only half a cup is a serving. I LOVE white rice and could eat the whole pot.
Jack-K....welcome back!
Trish...that sounds so fun but there is no way I could get away from here. I am hoping to make it up to Austin some day though and meet. Robert and I have talked about heading up that way for years now. He went once and said it was wonderful.
chrisd...enjoy that beautiful weather.
Well back to getting something done around here. The boy's room needs a fork lift and since I can't drive one I guess I'll roll my sleeves up...save my prayers and dive in.
Love and hugs,
Crystle

Pancho, Kids are the meanest things on earth. When Katie was in Kindergarten I was learey at first to put her on the bus, but after a few months of hauling Kerri and Autumn (who was still in the infant car seat) with me I decided I'd try it. The very first day she got off at the wrong spot, scared the h@!! out of me! After I got her home I told her not to get off that bus until she saw me standing outside. Well after I got up the nerve to let her ride again, there was some kid that kept taking things from her lunch box. I wrote a note to the bus driver and that stopped. IT DOESN'T STOP THERE EITHER!! Last year they started school in Bossier, and there was some kid that would make fun of her drawing, well Katie being the emotion expresser that she is made herself a "diary" out of notebook paper and wrote in the silly thing that this girl made her so mad and she would like to kill her. Of course that didn't go over at school at all. She spent a couple days in ISS. She had been told to go tell on other kids that do mean things to her, but in this instance her teacher who was new that year didn't do a thing about it. There were some other things that same kid did to her before we moved last year too, but I'll spare the details since I've written another novel.

You remember how I said I was going to stay OP this past weekend? Well, it didn't happen. We are still redoing my kitchen(UGH!!). I haven't been SB legal in days! Not only that, I've been eating like crazy and all the wrong foods. Forget the wagon, I need the detox dungeon--and quick! I haven't ate like this in almost a year. I'm all puffy and there's no telling how much I've gained. I feel like I've let myself and you guys down.:sorry: I've been legal today, but I've already ate too many starchy carbs. Well, it's time to get my mind set straight again. At least I have myh exercise class at the church to go to this evening. I actually look forward to it. The girl that does it is great. We weigh almost the same, but she's got the energy like she's 120#'s. Anyway, I only had time to skim this board. I saw posts about boobs! I'm so mad:mad: about mine! I've ALWAYS been a full C. Even when I got to 270, my boobs were the last place I would gain weight. Well, when I started losing, that was the first place I lost! I'm now in a B cup- haven't been that since about 14 years old! They just don't look right anymore. Too low, lost the fullness. But I don't know if it's my imagination or not, but I think since working with these weights:barbell: they are looking better:^: Hubby has always said they're beautiful, so I guess that's all that really matters(NOT, just trying to convince myself:lol: ).Oh, and I skimmed the posts about children! I'm a pretty strict parent, if I say so myself. And I believe in the spare the rod, spoil the child philosophy. Unfortunately, it doesn't always work. And neither does talking. I have the book, How to talk so kids will listen and listen so kids will talk. Hasn't worked with Ashley at all. I just keep hoping it's a phase, lol. As for Boogie, he's being a major BRAT lately. He's been throwing temper tantrums and hitting me when he gets angry-which is all the time now. Today I had enough when he punched me in the mouth! I tore his little behind up. Talking and telling him he musn't hit, etc. didn't work. Alright, I got about 4 loads of laundry that needs folding, gotta go...

GOOD EARLY EVENING TO ALL OF YOU!!
BEAUTIFUL DAY AGAIN OVER HERE!!! It was 59 degrees when I got up this morning, but the temp slow rose to 85 by the afternoon. NO HUMIDITY!!! I sure do hope this stays around for a while.....
The EBAY item was on another board, and I couldn't stand it until I share it with y'all! I about died when I read it, and when I saw the pictures, I thought at first they were just stones.....BUT, as you read....it's on the up and up....
Y'all are very yappy today...too much COFFEE?????
I went this morning to get my blood work done, and I'm anxious to see on Monday when I go to the Doc if everything has come down in numbers...I've lost 35lbs since last years blood work, so I'm keeping fingers and toes crossed....
EVERYONE need to really think hard about coming to this get together...those of you who have been to one can attest that we have a blast! I missed the last one, but don't intend to miss this one! The only bad thing for me is that it's dead in the middle of our busiest time....SNOW BIRDS ARE ALREADY ARRIVING!!!
I can't get to everyone this afternoon...gotta go fix supper....BUT
I'm thinking about each and every one of you.
JACKIE....SO GLAD YOU'RE BACK!!! I MISSED YOU!!!!

HiedieHo All!
Yesterday I again went swimming, hopped in their jacuzzi, took a shower and thenwent to the Sit 'n Fit group. Let me tell you, just because you're sitting doesn't mean you're not exercising!!! Wow! Did I find a few muscles. It was fun and I plan to go tomorrow. Can only make that class on Wednesdays and Fridays. They also meet on Mondays but that's the NH day.
This morning was NH day and then the Joyful Noise went to another NH to entertain. I always have a good time. The morning group was really great. We got into the coma thing and pulling/not pulling the plug, as well as the twin separation and the ferry boat accident stories. Those three things really geberated a good discussion. Even the lower level residents had something to say today!
DEB: Am trying to keep at least one day OP. Yesterday a little slip, today okay so far. About the LA get together, if it's right in my back yardI guess I'd better go! I won't have airline tickets anyway.
JECRITES: My DIL was huge only a 36/38 but took G/H cups. Had sore shoulders and back problems. Insurance said it was cosmetic, but the doctor she went to this time proved it was medically necessary. She is so glad she had it done. Feels better and can buy better fitting clothes. Bras were a problem before but now she can buy off the rack so to speak. A friend in church had to wait until she was 65 and then Medicare paid for it. She says she should have done it years ago.
CHRISD: Please post the recipe for that chocolate mousse type dessert. OOPS! See you did!
PANCHO: Don't know how long ago you had your reduction but doctor told my DIL to wear a bra, as they will eventually sag if not protected.
TRISH: WAnt an extra suitcase for a trip home? When you pack just put the next smallest suitcase (if you have the nesting for storage kind) in side the first case. Then you have one right at hand when the time comes.
Well have to get ready for a HFH meeting tonight. I ate supper as I typed. See how conscientious I am!
Take care, Shirley

Happy Thursday everyone....
Didn't get here yesterday. Was busy playing Betty Crocker. Got lots of Zucchini Bread made for Christmas goodie bags. And not a chance of me eating this, I will not touch it.....it is made for all those NOT watching sugar intake. I used regular flour and sugar!! But it sure did make the house smell good. I only have 2 relatives that are doing SB. So I will make theirs special. My one Aunt isn't really doing SB, but she watches her sugars, fats and only eats whole grains. The other one is an Uncle, and he joined me on SB after I started losing again. He stalled on PP also!!
Forgot to weigh in yesterday, but I was down 2 pounds this morning to 160, for the second time in a week, so will claim it....I only have 10 more to go. Next loss will hopefully put me in to the 150's!! Don't know why it seems to mean so much, I will never quit eating this way.....I know if I do, that I will be right back where I was. And that is NOT going to happen this time. It has taken me over 2 years to get this far, and it has been hard work!!
Guess what I decided to take to the pot luck this week, lol....sauerkraut and german venison dogs!! Doesn't that sound good??
Agape-- Welcome back, sorry you have been so very sick. Hope you will be with us more now.
Em-- Way to go girl....you are doing super!!
Jec-- You are doing an awesome job with the exercise this week. WTG!! And of course you will see a drop on the scales next WIW, (crossing my fingers, here!)
Deb-- You gals crack me up!! But I know what you are talking about. I have gone from a 40 FF to a 36 E. So I am still packing alot around. Boy, do my shoulders and back feel it. For those gals who are always saying they wish they had more, I always ask them if they would rather feel like a milk cow!! Because that's how I feel! :o
Monet--WTG, glad you have gotten back down to that low. You are almost into new territory, Yea!!
Country-- I too hope to not gain over the holidays. Last year I stayed op for Thanksgiving, then took a food vacation for Christmas dinner only! I didn't gain anything, but didn't get to try any of the new goodies people made either. I still make dh all his Christmas candies, but this year I told him that I am not making him much because he gets to eat all the stuff we get in the goodie bags!! And there is still Christmas candy in the freezer that I made last year!!
Jack-k-- Welcome back, glad you had a great vacation. I am glad you girls had a great time together, hope to see some pictures soon!
Chrisd-- The mousse recipe looks good. Thanks for sharing with us!
Pancho-- I love ABC Distributing! Only I always over do when I order there! I have gotten most all of my Halloween decor for my front deck there, and many Christmas gifts!
Trish-- I am definitely with you.....CHOCOLATE!!
Heart-- Repeat after me...."NOTHING TASTES AS GOOD AS BEING THIN FEELS." Hang in there, hon....you CAN do it!
BOB-- The E-bay item was hysterical!! I have only browsed there when someone else on here mentioned it. Will have to do more looking I guess!! ( And by the way, who would want to buy a left nut anyway??) :s:
See you all later........

Hello again:
Well, I have a confession to make....my DH does not know that this board even exists. SO, telling him about some SB get-together will probably not happen. He thinks that the people you meet on these boards are a bunch of lunatics. I'm not sure why. I found a support group when I had my Breast Reduction, when I was pregnant, on Atkins and then you guys. I feel totally different. BUT, convincing him may be a tough job. I will have to see what I can do.
I have a pot of fresh green beans cooking with garlic, onion and a slice of bacon...smells delicious! I also have a whole chicken in the oven.
Not much going on today here.
jecrites: So sorry to hear about dd's troubles at school. Is everything better now. It is times like these that I am glad I only have two children.
Deb: Sounds like your Outback dinner was great. I will have to remember them when we go out again sometime. I never knew you had your stomach stapled.
Trish: Enjoy your dinner tonight.
heart: Good luck catching that fast moving wagon.
Sef: Thanks for the info. I like to go 1/2 & 1/2. I do have a lightwight cotton bra that I wear most of the time; they do encourage it. I still won't wear one to bed....just not comfortable enough. If they sag a little then so be it; I want to be comfortable when I sleep;) . Sounds as if you are staying busy!
Well better go spend some time with the kiddos.
Take care,

Hey Hey!
How's everyone today!? I'm still doing good...still alive! As the day went on, I decided that I didn't actually have a virus. I think at school, I had a large case of the trots. Then when I went to the front bathroom I got a whiff of the stinky toilet (not the one that I had the trots in!) and I puked! After I was home, I had the trots a couple of times but I pretty much felt a lot better. Then today - same thing after lunch - running to the back toilet with the trots. I think it was the lima beans! HAHA! Oh well!
JACK-K: Girl.....I'm so glad you made it home safely! It was soooo wonderful to meet the both of you. If I wouldn't have had my chaperone with me I would have stayed longer!:s: I know that Terry really enjoyed the both of you - eventhough you couldn't tell! He just talks so much! I do all the talking for the both of us - I guess he is just used to being quiet! haha! I can't believe that the Saints actually won that day! Your friends must have been upset. Did your hubby enjoy the pizza? I loved it but I did belch it for the rest of the day! Terry did too! haha! Did you have that problem?
BOB: HILARIOUS left nut on E-Bay! Also - I loved the e-mail about the farts! Passed that one along to everyone!
NOW - I noticed that someone (no names mentioned BOB) mentioned my BOOBS on the board! HAHA! Yeah - I got my boobs reduced last Christmas and they are just wonderful! I'm so glad that I did it - I feel so much better. I was a DDD and now I'm a C. I hope if I take some weight off - more boobs will go away!
I took my pics to get developed today so I should have them tomorrow! Well, lemme run.......

Pancho, Oh yeah, I finally got things straightened out at the one school, but we've moved from there almost a year ago and she's doing fine. I couldn't figure out why in the world she was having problems in the first place, most kids like her really well. She's the total opposite of me, she's very outgoing! I've never had a problem with Kerri in school, but Autumn is the one I'm gonna really worry about, she don't take crap from no one no matter who they are AND she speaks her mind. Not looking forward to "daily" calls from the schools because of her.
OK, I had some frosted oatmeal cookies while ago, first cheat this week, but I couldn't resist them. At least they were oatmeal and I am up off my butt to exercise in the mornings. I know, no excuse is a good one. Had chicken, peas, and broccoli for supper, but for some reason those cookies just wanted me to eat them.
I don't know how many of you watched American Idol last year but we did and I completely fell in love with Clay. I got his new c.d. yesterday and I love it. It's not the normal pop/rock stuff that's out now days. It's a really nice change. Hubby don't care for him though, he's more into the old heavy metal type mess, so it's easy to understand why he don't like it.
Well it's getting late and got to get these kids off to bed. I'll talk to y'all tomorrow.

How's Everybody Tonite?
I'm doing good today. Had a nice visit from daughter and grands. That is the reason for me not getting on board this morning. Thank goodness, it's better late than never.
Debbie ~~ It really is good to be back. I would liken this board to a doctor in evey capacity!!! And this board is a true friend and I say thank you.
Monet ~~ Thank you for your concern, I do feel a lot better. Great that things are going well for you, esp. the weight lose, WTG!!!
CountryMom4Him ~~ Thanks, I'm getting better everyday. I've got to get this body moving for sure to get my strength back. One day at a time is a good thing to remember. (hugs to you) :-)
Jack-K ~~ WB...sounds like you had much fun.
Pancho ~~ Thank you much.
Teensybean ~~ Thank you, I will be here more. I've got to get this show on the road.
Now I must say goodnite. I was doing a Debbie last nite. I didn't fall asleep until after 4:30 am. Tonite I will sleep. Have a good nite, will see ya back here tomorrow.
Love yall,

Oh my goodness Debelli,
I just viewed pics from the photo album and you are an answer to a question I asked my husband just this evening at dinner. You have done fantastic with your weight loss. When I got married 29 years ago I weighed 125 lbs. Woah how the pounds have accumulated all these happy years of marriage, :) up to 223. I was so excited because today I weighed in at 209. I have lost 14 lbs since the last weekend in September. It is just coming off so easy, I am craving absolutely nothing!! Anyway what I was excited about after seeing your picture and your current weight I now know that YES I CAN GET BACK DOWN TO 125. I just told my husband this evening I was not sure if going under 150 would be ok. I really could not imagine going down that low but since seeing your picture that is now my long term goal. My short term goal is getting in the 100's and I have 9 more 9 more pounds to go. I thank you for the encouragement given me by the posting of your picture.
God bless you and yours,
Maggie

Good Friday morning.
Gosh working 2 days and then the weekend is here is great. I could do this all the time. But my desk sure shows it.
Missy, Terry reminds me so much of my DH. He is so quiet too. We are so opposite. I talk all the time and he never says a word. The pizza didn't bother me. We need their recipe for the crust. Wonder if they would give it to us.
Ashley, Tulane plays UofL tonight. We are going to the game. Made me think of you and Missy.
Bob, I missed you too. Glad to be back on board. We did talk about you alot. Bet your ears were burning.
Got to run, have lots of work to catch up on. Hello to everyone I missed. Promise to be back on board Monday. Have a great weekend.

Morning everybody. I can't tell you guys how glad I am that it's Friday!! This has been the awfullest (is that a word?) week at work, I am really ready for the week-end.
Dinner last night was really good and I actually did really well, until......the chocolate cake. I had fresh tuna that had been grilled with red peppers and olives and they served over the grain that I always forget the name of, the little tiny round things. Anyway it was really yummy. The chocolate cake did me in, though. I ate it, I enjoyed it and I'll just have to do double time on the treadmill for the next few days.
Talk to you guys later.

Good morning everyone! Happy Friday to all! i cant believe its friday again! this week went by so fast! Im going Christmas shopping tonight and plan on getting done tonight...this is the first time ever that I am doing it this early...but I need to put it all on layaway and pay it off, instead of putting it all on a credit card like I do every other year! Went to Toys r Us last night...they have a huge sale right now. All board games are buy one get one free...Barbies buy 1 get 1 free..and much more. i wound up saving $50. I was very happy!
PANCHO - Im a huge fan of ABC. I just put an order in the other day! I love it. I watch the Bachelor too. im glad to see someone else on the board got sucked in just like I did. ;)
So you ask, how do you get pissed at a 5 year old?? Very easy, when someone screws with your kid, your gonna get pissed, no matter what the age. I agree 100%. And thats so sweet what you whisper in her ear when she leaves you, gave me the chills!
TEENSY - I love the Zucchini Bread too! Its one of my favorite recipes. Hope they all enjoy! :)
JEC - Im so worried about DS going to school. Kids can be so damn mean these days...I dont remember it being that way back when i was in school! It makes me want to hide out in his school to keep an eye on him. I can sooo see me doing that!
DEB - I will absolutley be calling you tomorrow. I wonder if they will have the pot pies there. Thats so funny when I read about you laughing like that. Been there a few times. When I get into those laughing fits I dont stop, especially if I keep thinking about it. It could be 20 min after it happened and then you get the visual back, and it starts all over. I can only imagine what you were laughing at...I mean the WHOLE story! :s:
My sister's favorite ice cream is also Publix's Peppermint Stick. She is so excited that its on the shelves already! Im sure she too will indulge this season. She says she has too!
COUNTRY - LOVE the funnY!
have a great Friday everyone!

Good morning everyone. I unfortunately am swamped at work and don't have time for many individual replies, but I hope all is well with everyone. My goal this weekend is to stay on plan the entire weekend, especially when eating out. I am going out of town to take my grandmother to see Cher in concert. I hope we have a good time!! I hope you all have a fabulous on plan weekend.
JackK- Welcome Back to the boards, Girl!!!! I am glad you had a safe trip back. Have a good time at the Tulane/UofL game. Go GREEN WAVE!!!!!
Missy- Hope you are feeling more like your self. Good to see that your gastrointestinal distress has not affected your sense of humor!!
Trisha- Your dinner last night is making me salivate!!!! Sounds Yummy.

I have been lurking about your thread for a while now and even joined in at one time but got busy and haven't been back. Hope I can join you again?
I've come to the conclusion that busting sugar is the way to go plus I'll be watching my cholesterol levels also.
I may not have access to the computer tomorrow but I will try to get back on Sunday afternoon--going out of town.
A little about myself. I've chose to be single because of my sister who has had 3 divorces. Just don't want to go through that.
I'm 53 years old and work for our city in the water treatment plant. My sisters, siblings, have children who are very dear to me and I treat them as they were my own.
Will check in Sunday afternoon.

JACKIEO - I dont know if anyone knows this on the board except Deb...but I am a VERY big Cher fan...I mean huge. The rest of my family hates her now, just because Im so obnoxious about it. 33 CD's 10 albums, every movie...its a bit much but I cant help it, I love her. I have been to 6 concerts 3 being this tour that you are going to see. Its an AWESOME concert and you will have such a great time. Im so jealous of you right now. I wish I could see her again! PLEASE let me know what you thought!

The last y'all heard from me, I was going to try to make Monday productive. . .
And, of course, it turns out that the more you do the more you have to do, so I've been snowed under all week!
Plus it turned cool and the allergies kicked in again. My throat is sore and I have a good case of larengitis. Fun.
I've skimmed the board, but cannot reply to everyone--just wanted to say that I'm still around and kicking. I had an echocardiogram this morning (Doc thinks I have mitral valve prolapse--which is no big deal). As soon as that is confirmed, I can schedule my spaying---YES!
I will try to spend some time on the board this weekend, but just wanted to let you know I haven't forgotten about you!

ChrisD- Your collection of Cher paraphanalia is impressive. I have always really respected her, but my grandma LOVES her. She is very into the whole costume, scenery, production thing and loves Bob Mackie.(She is a retired dancing teacher and choreographer , Broadway veteran herself) I saw the show on TV and it seemed phenomenal. I am sure I won't be dissapointed. Will let you know-Ashley

CeeJay...welcome back! Hope you have a nice weekend.
Heartmom...I forgot to tell you this morning that I am praying you have a better day today.
Your goal is to lose weight. Perhaps, this is a good reason
as any to obsess over the numbers on your scale. After all,
the scale measures your body weight, and weight is something
that you want to lose, right?
Not exactly!
What you want to lose is FAT. Our body is mainly comprised
of water, muscle, organ tissue, fat and bone. The scale
measures the total weight of all the elements that our body
contains. It does not give us any idea on how much of this
weight is, in fact, fat.
For adults, the weight of the organ tissue and bones is
constant. The fluctuation of numbers that we see on the
scale reflects changes in volume for the other three
components of our body - water, muscle and fat.
Have you ever weighed yourself twice on the same day and
found a difference of several pounds? Such differences,
whether it is positive or negative, should be attributed to
changes of water in your body.
You cannot gain or lose a pound of pure fat in just one day.
It is also not possible to gain or lose a pound of muscle
overnight.
However, it is very easy to retain or lose several pounds of
water.
Gaining or losing water will affect the number on the scale,
but will not make you slimmer. Eventually, your water
volume will return to the balanced amount, and the scale
will adjust accordingly.
Muscle Weighs More Than Fat
Muscle, another crucial component of your body, weighs more
then fat. This is the reason why ideal weight charts and
formulas do not work for bodybuilders.
Even when bodybuilders have very little body fat, the amount
of muscle that they have makes their total body weight go
way up. According to the standard weight charts, most
bodybuilders would fall under the category of being "obese".
This clearly illustrates how "losing weight" does not equal
"losing fat".
Tools to Measure Your Progress
Since fat is the third component that influences the number
on your scale, the scale is merely a useful tool for
measuring progress on your fat loss journey. However, the
key here is not for you to fixate on the scale, but to
use it as only one of the tools to track your progress.
Weigh yourself just once a month on the same day to avoid
stressing out every day over weight "ups and downs" caused
by water fluctuation.
In addition, you do not want to rely totally on your scale.
Instead, judge your progress by the way your clothes fit.
Take your tape measurements every month to see how far
you have reduced your fat factor; because, it is inches--
not pounds, which really matter most!
Love,
Crystle

Good morning everyone:
I just returned from my doctor's office for an appt. I had this morning. I have had a chronic cough for some time now and my throat is dry and I feel like I have a difficult time breathing at times when I lay down. Yesterday, I discoved a lump on my neck, that is apparently too high to be thyroid related. My doctor wants me to get a chest x-ray as well as see an ENT. I scheduled an appt. to see the ENT on Monday. I am a little worried. It's so funny how things change. Before kids, I really believed that when it is your time to go it's your time. NOW, I totally feel differently....my kids need me and I can't let anything be wrong with me. Please say a little prayer on my behalf that it is not anything serious! Thank you!
My DH tood DD to school today for me since I was just getting back from dr. office. I will pick her up at 3 p.m. I probably won't make it to the gym now. BUT, I will go tomorrow a.m. Also going to get my hair cut tomorrow; it's way overdo.
FRuit: Hope your tummy troubles go away soon. You will probably lose more in your breasts when you lose more weight. The bras that fit me so well for so long after the reduction actually pucker now that I've lost all the weight.
jecrites: Kerri sounds like Britt. Britt is very likeable too, but seems more reserved this year. I worry that she is so accomodating that she could be easily taken advantage of. In preschool, she would take everyone under her wing and make sure everyone was taken care of and included. I think Lane will be more like Autumn...I think she'll have a "screw you" type attitude. She already does:lol: .
Country: Gotta love Garfield!!
chrisd: Have fun Christmas shopping. I hope our weather cools off soon so I will feel like shopping. Glad you got sucked into the Bachelor too. I think he picked LeAnne because she is a crybaby and he felt bad/guilty for her.
Ceejay: Welcome back!
Well, better go spend some time with my baby.
Have a great day.

Good Afternoon everyone!
I went in to work today. I was not scheduled, but the manager told me he could use me, so I went. I ended up staying until 1:30, and only left because I was exhausted, even though there was still plenty to do!
Its rainy and cold here. I have not felt well all day. In a bit, I am going to take a nap. The cat is already curled up sleeping on my bed, so I will join him! :) Smart cat...
Laura had to go out to the college she will be attending next semester again. She has all kinds of paper work, and placement tests to take. The program she will be in is called Joint Enrollment, and she will receive credit for the classes she takes for both high school and college. You have to have a pretty high SAT score, and GPA to get into the program, and you can do it for whole senior year. She did not think she wanted to do it last year, and then changed her mind when school started. This way, she will have a half of a year of college done before she has even graduated from high school.
Ok, time for my nap! Take care everyone!

Hi,
Heading out to the ballgame. Go Green wave!
Thought I would check on you all. I think this cold is setting in pretty good now. Nose is running, sneezing and coughing.
cHRIS AND ASHLEY, my DH is a huge CHer fan. I took him to one of her concerts.
Ceejay, sure you are welcome back. People come and go for many reasons. Doesn't matter to us. Welcome back.
Susan, I know where you are coming from. Both work piled high and sore throat. Except I think mine is going into a full fledged cold.
Crystal, thanks for the scale tidbit. we all know that, but yet we are still fixated on that metal monster. Sometimes we are dense.
Pancho, Hope things are ok with you. think positive.
Monet, My DD took college coarses thru High school so she also had a half year completed. She came out of college in 3.5 years. It was nice. Also summa cum laude. Guess she gets her brains from me. Enjoy your nap.
Have a great weekend.
Jackie.

OH....MY...GAWD!!! IT's FRIDAY AND I'M SO GLAD! SO TGIF EVERY BUDDY!!! :cp:
I got the call to pick up Skeeter today, so I left early from work to go get him. He's in a BEAUTIFUL hand carved mahogany box and
the Pet Crematory sent me a certificate to verify that he had a private cremation. This made me feel better, cause I actually forgot to tell Dr Watkins that I wanted that done! I guess he knows me better than I realized! SO...Skeeter is in the living room with Kate and I expect the conversations to begin again anytime now. Thanks again to all of you for the support and love that you've shown to me during this hard time :grouphug:
JACKIE....WHY ARE YOU NOT PULLING FOR LOUISVILLE????? I know you're a CATS FAN, but they are the home team!!!!
MONET....hope you had a good nap...I love those kind of days...
Sounds like your kitty knows where the bread is buttered!
PANCHO...You got it girlfriend....all the toe and finger crossing that your need...Keep good thoughts...it helps..I know your scared, but it could also be a fat mass. I've got one in my leg and it's getting bigger and will have to be removed...SO...we'll pray for that to be the case! We love you and will be here for you :grouphug:
CEEJAY...you sound like Susan and myself...we both love our brother's little goobers just like they were our own too! WELCOME BACK!!!!

Hey everyone, just popping in for a quick read. No time for individual post today. Been out in the Greenbluff Orchards picking Granny Smith Apples. Don't know if I will go back for more, but picked 33 lbs this morn. Got dh some Hubbard Squash for his dinner, I will have some of my Spaghetti Squash instead. Dh is supposed to see about me picking some pears too.
I hope that you all have a great weekend and I will be back when I have more time. :D

Hi Everyone,
I have been just absolutely swamped. I am *so* tickled to be below 220 lbs. I am very motivated. I have stayed OP, even with the stress and that is an achievement since Pepperidge Farm Gingerbread Men just march right into my mouth when I am stressed. ;) If I can just get the poster and slides done without resorting to sugar, I will be pleased with myself.
I *did* get the flight & hotel for New Orleans finally. 25,000 scientists descending on New Orleans makes both items scarce. Now I will have to solicit eating recommendations from fellow board members. I want to eat OP in New Orleans. The meeting will be stressful enough with presentations, and job interviews to deal with sugar mania-depression.
About the SB get together, I may not be able to make it this time. I will be rather busy with traveling for job interviews (hopefully!) and science meetings. I have just been invited to speak at a second meeting, in January! This one goes on the CV too!
Question about pasta—is only stoned ground whole wheat pasta legal ? Any other pastas legal? I have some really good recipes that need pasta. Thanks!
Deb! I *know* exactly how you feel about ice cream! My downfall is Haagen Daas ---scrumptious Coffee or Vanilla flavor. My only saving grace is that I am cheap penny pincher who won’t pay over $7.00 for a half gallon of ice cream. So I always buy the little tubs, and now that Bill is around, we share that. Although I COULD eat all of it at once…… And I have eaten Haagen Daas all over the world - in Paris (wonderful little boutiques—but it was $10 a pint!), in Heidelberg, in Rome & Venice (although gelato was irresistible too), in Switzerland & Sweden, and in Tokyo (where I bought the little tubs in vending machines outside the Golden Pagoda). I have mentioned that I obsess about food right? And that I navigate by food right?
Hi Maggie! Loved reading your post! I echo your sentiments! I too have been very excited by getting back OP with SB & with finding this group of other people using the WOE. I have been finding the weight coming off a bit slower than you, but I think progress on this WOE is individual. Keep up the good work!
Pancho! Great imagery “I used to always think I was short waisted, but I guess I was just long boob-ed. “ On the subject of losing weight and breast size. I am currently and have been for a long time, a 40DD. Even when I weighed 135 in university/graduate school, I was at best a 38DD. I too, have considered a breast reduction now and again, because it makes buying shirts & blouses complicated. But mostly because when I run or ride a horse, the extra weight can be very painful. (And probably funny looking too, to any spectators. Especially out of sync. ;) ) I have decided to reach my goal weight of 130 before seriously considering this. By the way, this is probably the first ‘real’ conversation I have had about this subject since I usually get responses like : “Well, you’re fat/overweight/obese so they will be that size. Lose weight.” Or “Men love big boobs.” Fine, I may not. I appreciate everyone sharing their experiences about having or considering this method.
On the subject of Christmas shopping, I am about half done, and the difficult half too!! I found such interesting items while visiting Berlin Germany and Glasgow/Edinburgh Scotland last month. These are perfect gifts for my future inlaws, my older sister and her family and my assorted friends. I even got 2 birthday gifts since two nephews requested football (read soccer) shirts. Just my dear Bill’s gifts to get, and that will take some planning and execution.
Gotta run, and make a legal dinner!
Ciao!
Emma

Hey, guys! Well, I've been OP today. I was yesterday also, but over did it on everything. The result- woke up all puffy-faced. I decided to face the metal monster and I'm at 181! UGH:mad: I actually thought it might have been a pound or 2 more. Hopefully, I'll be back down a couple by next WIW. I did get up this morning and did my 3 mile tape. Going to my exercise class at the church early in the morning. So that will be 4 days of exercise this week:strong: Next week, I will aim for 5 days. My supper wasn't that nutritous, and on the starchy side. I had a ham n cheese sandwich and a NSA klondike bar. I didn't feel like cooking. The only veggie I've had today was 2 slices of tomato on my sandwich:o I'm working on it- at least I had some fruit. Right now, I'm in a stressed:stress: mood. I'm ticked at hubby for frivously spending money(on hisself) that we don't have. And the kids have been their absolute worst today. Went to Walmart this evening and Boogie was screaming and throwing a tantrum, then Miss Ashley decided to have a hearing problem with me and when I grabbed her by her arm to get her attention, she started yelling and saying "you're hurting my arm, you're squeezing it too tight!"-- I wasn't even squeezing her arm! I was so embarrassed and then upset with her. I got home and told hubby and told him to take care of it, I was stressed enough. He gave her a good old-fashioned lecture and spanking. She definetly needed it today. Then Boogie got in trouble for his hitting on me and his sister. I needed some time to myself, so I'm in the bedroom "talking" to you guys. Man, this is like therapy:lol: Oh, yea- talking about ABC DISTR, I got most of Ashley's Xmas ordered thru them. I'm redoing her bedroom in the girl's Daisy Collection. I think she'll really like it. I got Boogie's on layaway at Walmart. I can't believe I'm paying $40 for a Hulk remote control car:eek: Really, cars and trucks are about the only things he likes, oh, and guns. Typical boy. PANCHO- I'll say a prayer for you and make a prayer request in the morning at church. I need to get to the doc myself and keep putting it off because I don't have insurance or the money. I have 2 "places" on my legs that don't look right and I'm scared it might be cancerous. Anyway, speaking of church, I can't believe I'm getting "involved." I think I might make it my home church. They're having a barbeque this Sunday. Cooking 6 pigs, potato salad and all kinds of illegal food. At least it will be early in the day, I'll try and not make a :ink: of myself..definelty will have a light supper that night. The exercise class I go to plays Christian music. I like it, although it's different for me. It's actually starting to grow on me. Anyway, she always plays the same songs, so I was wondering about buying a Christian music tape to bring. Problem is, I don't know any of the singers/groups out there. I'm looking more for Christian Contemporary. Something upbeat that you can have a good workout with. Any suggesstions? Well, I've rattled on and on:blah: goodnite!

Hey kids!
I'm happy to report that the SB get together has been approved by my hubby! :D But, if we have more than 11 show - some will need to buddy up and get a room. He says that he doesn't want an overcrowded house so that he can still have some guy TV time and stuff! So, I agreed! I'm just so happy that he said YES! And it's during Mardi Gras so it will be so fun!
Other than that - not much else to report. Have lots of school work to do this weekend- report cards go out next week and I have a formal observation on Monday. So, I want to get my report cards done so that I don't have to worry about them on Monday.
My sister is coming to visit tomorrow - she hasn't been here in a while so she needs to see all of the work that we have recently done. Mind you...she just lives 45 mins away but she is always toting her children around and rarely has time for herself. We are hoping to go see Runaway Jury tomorrow. It is a John Grisham book that is now a movie. It was filmed in New Orleans. Many of the news people from channel 4 (which I watch every morning) have parts in the show playing - newscasters! Go figure. So, I'm looking forward to seeing the show. Also, my friends that are in the band that we always go to see have their picture in the movie. It is actually on the wall in a room where they are filming. So, that should be kind of neat to see.
We will also do some cleaning around the house this weekend. I've got our faculty Christmas party here again this year. So, I've got to start getting things organized, etc. My bushes around my gazebo need to be trimmed, etc. So, hopefully we have some "cool" weather to work in. We are also putting up baseboards in the house.
I'm going to try to post the pics from New orleans. I hope that I can get them done tonight. If not - I'll do them Sat. or Sunday!
Well, I'm going to run.....hello to everyone! Sorry I didn't post to everyone individually - but I've got work to do!! Busy, busy, busy!

Ok - I'm going to try to attach the first one. This one was taken by Terry - and he didn't get close enough to us. So, we are kind of hard to see - a little blurry.
If it works we are in this order from l to r:

FRUIT: I often am up first thing in the morning, but after getting up and moving around some, the water retention thing goes away, naure takes it course, so to speak, and I am down a few pounds. Don't get discouraged. Its the week to week average that matters, not the day to day.

WHAT A WONDERFUL DAY ON THE WEST COAST OF FLA!!! :bravo:
The weather is absolutely beautiful, no humidity, and the temp is
in the low 70's....wish I was an outside flower person, I would work in my yard! :nono:
Got my wake up call fromthe Dungeon Mistress this morning and we had a good chat! She was on her yard sale march and
was about to head home for the day.
I slept so good last night, and I honestly believe it's because Skeeter is back where he belongs! He's in his little box in the living room where he spent most of his time on his pillow and it just feels right....As Kimmy put it to me this morning, closure!
I've watched two movies so far and both were great!

If you've not seen them....GET THEM...they are so funny!
Not much planned for the day, I've got my usual football games starting at 12:30pm and will be tuned in throughout the day.

HiedieHo All!
Thursday the NH, did wash and then there was an HFH meeting. Yesterday, 2 hours of exercise via swimming and and Sit/Fit class. Made supper and was too pooped to do anything else. Today have been to a PW board mtg and this afternoon am going to a Barbershop Quartet Concert ay Loyola (which I always mispronounce!)
I have to learn to say NO! Too many things are doubling up and require a lot of writing, means a lot of time at computer, which is a pain, really. Let's see what do I give up? Can't skip exercing! Really love the NH and Joyful Noise! Habitat is really worthwhile! Choir needs anyone they can get! Comes right down to it, I wouldn't miss PW very much, but I'm sort of obligated now and some people would be very disappointed with me. So unless I get some gumption, I'm stuck with what I got. Just say no to anything else!
TEENSY: I so indentify with you when I was younger. I always made "goodie bags" for friends. Once I did it for all 60 patients in the facility and then staff demanded equal treatment! My specialty was a moist fruit cake made w/ applesauce and real pound cake. Not to mention cookies. Also was always canning and freezing anything that came down the Pike!
PANCHO: Prayers are going up for you. One of the hardest things is not knowing and worrying. Whne I was working we ordered regularly from ABC. I was always pleased with their products and we all loved their prices!
FRUIT: Glad you don't have the virus, from things I've heard around here there is a growing epidemic in our area. Pics were great thanks for posting them!
CEEJAY: Welcome, this is a wonderful board and you will get the support and answers we all need.
Oh by the way! I'm still OP! TADA!!!!!!!!
Got to get dressed for concert.
Take care, Shirley

It's a gorgeous day here in East Central Alabama. Too bad my allregies won't let me enjoy it. I gave away my ticket to today's game so I could stay home and rest. Belle and I have been very snuggly this morning!
I did go to the grocery store last night and stocked up on good food. I have fresh salmon in the fridge for dinner tonight and I will make my first pot of chili for the season tomorrow. I also loaded up on some chicken breasts for the coming week. A fresh loaf of WW bread is working in the machine now--so I should be set for the week!
BOB--I'm so glad that Skeeter is home where he belongs! It must be comforting to have him back in the house with you! Today's kind of icky as far as football goes--at least on TV here. Maybe I'll actually get something productive done here today!
Monet--I'm with you, I always drop a little bit on the scale after I've been up for a while. Sounds like you have some good goals for working--that should help to make the WWof theW a little more bearable!
Fruit--I loved the pictures!!!! It looks like y'all were having a good time--especially DH!!!
Heart---Yeah to you and Boo to your DH! Men--honestly they just don't get it sometimes! I'm sure they say that about us too! You are much farther ahead on Christmas than I am. I haven't bought the first present and I've usually got a few piled away by now.
Emma3--You shouldn't have any problem finding OP food to eat in NO since that's where SB was born--but of course the real test is resisting all that other stuff that's out there! Cause it's all delish.
Jackie--I hope your cold gets better soon! Mine seems to be getting worse too! It's no fun is it?
Pancho--I will certainly keep you in my prayers! I'm sure it is nothing, but it is always nice to know for sure.
JackieO--"If we could turn back time. . . "
CeeJay--Welcome back! Yup BOB and I are nutso about our borther's little ones so you are in good company. I have two nieces that are the joy of my life. Being an aunt is a special treat--the girls see me as an adult--but not a parent--so we don't have all the issues they are having with their parents now (one is a teenager and the other is about to be). Plus I spoil them rotten.
Deb--I hope the yard sales are good to you today!!!!! And I hope you find a good nuker. I second the Sharp recommendation--that's what I have. Mine's well more than 10 years old and working fine. My DM's has been in operation for close to 20 years and still works great!
I hope everyone has a good OP day!

Have to agree with Susan about the games....ALTHOUGH....the OLE MISS vs BAMA has been a good one...I'm not watching it....don't have to...all I have to do is listen to KATE!!!
Got some gound beef out to throw on the grill for supper. AND I've decided to fry up some chicken legs tomorrow...I know...I know...maybe I'll do an oven fry instead....ALSO going to fix some PINTO beans tomorrow...good for the fiber..BUT...that will call for CORNBREAD for KATE.....
BUCS play tomorrow, and I know that CHRIS and KATE will be tuned it....
Gonna watch the last two movies tonight...can't wait to see the ITALIAN JOB. The other one NORMAL is from the SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL..it's about a man who is married and suddenly woke up one morning and decided to be a woman! Jessica Lange plays his wife...it's a true storey and the real couple have been on OPRAH with their story. They are still together, but raising their children as two women! Should be interesting.....
WELL...gotta go

Hey All:wave:
Finally able to get on here and post, or at least start one. I've been running all day.
Yesterday I went with my friend DEBBY up to Broward. It was a lats minute decision to go and it was a bit late, but we went anyhow. I've been trying to get her to go anywhere with me for years so I figured I better do it while the iron was hot. Long story, but in a nutshell, has 2 teenage boys, always does EVERYTHING for them (maybe wipe their butts as well), good reason, problem kids, well, more the older one, getting in to lots of trouble. She has a lot of medical problems, many brought on by stress which the kids make worse, you get the pic. I've known here since MICHAEL was about 1 yr old, met at a Mommy and Me class long ago. Anyhow, we had a nice time, short, but nice. She LOVED Ole Ole:D
Didn't sleep well, very restless night, had a dull headache. Anyhow, went to some garage sales today, not many and not much out there. Someone had these gorgeous chairs, the kind you flop in and don't want to get out of, a Mary Englebreit style print, sorta whimsical, just my taste. Unfortunately, I can't use them, and no one else I know could either, so I missed out. Perfect condition, $40 for both - killed me to walk away from them! Got a Yankee Candle, the pilar ones, new for .25cents. Got my sister 2 bags of size 1 diapers, 40 to a bag, both bags $1, a huge box of plastic cutlery (about 300-325 pieices) for $2 and a few other odds and ends, but nothing exciting at all:shrug:
OMG, I forgot to tell you, I almost died the other day when I went to the HFS! I go to where the pot pies are and on the label I see the letters DISC! So I go find someone in that dept (almost burst through the back room) and asked if it meant what I thought it meant and yes, the store (not the company) is not going to carry them! I couldn't believe it. Now, the turkey didn't say DISC, but the chicken did - go figure:?: The guy THINKS he can special order them for me by the case, which isn't a problem since there's only 6 in a case, but they won't have them on the shelf any longer - bought the last 3 they had!!! I hate when stores do that crap!
Watched some of the movies that I got from the library yesterday before they had to go back - RED DRAGON & rest of ABOUT SHMIDT. We started TORTILLA SOUP and we still have TITUS and LIAR LIAR to watch. They have a few things on hold for me as well but I won't get them til Monday, have no time to watch them all. They have ROAD TO PERDITION, 25TH HOUR & DIE ANOTHER DAY waiting for me. Wanted to keep DRUMLINE, but will get that one again - may buy it, love it!
Tomorrow we have my niece's birthday party around 4pmish. AINSLEY is so excited to be turning 6! My BIL is doing the grill and my DS ordered bagels. I'll probably have a bit of ice cream for dessert but no cake. Funny how I can contain myself at someone else's house, but not my own:shrug: If I'm lucky I'll eat enough regular food that I'll be so stuffed that when I go eat the ice cream I'll barf it up, so it will not even be a problem;)
MICHAEL went today to be tested for MENSA. There was only one other HS student there, the rest were old nerds. He thinks he failed miserably. Won't know results for a few weeks he says. Why he'd want to do that is beyond me, though he claims it helps getting scholarships:shrug: We had him tested in Kindergarten, his IQ was 134. I wonder if they change?
Okay, on to some replies while I can...
TRISH, that's great that you'll be joining us at the next SB GET TOGETHER!! It wouldn't be the same without you! Now I have to come up with some new ideas, though I'll keep some of the old that were fun. Hmmm, since it's MG time, we'll have to try and find some MG type stuff to wear when we see FRUIT on her float. I had something in mind when we first started talking about this idea, but I don't think many would wear a pecker mask! I like Cost Plus for the interesting foods, don't care much about the other areas of the store, just point me to the back of the store;) Now, with TJ'S, not only should you pack an extra suitcase, but you should buy one of their insulated bags, they are THE BEST! Then, you can throw in some of their wonderful frozen stuff and it will stay good til you get home (granted you don't get stuck somewhere unexpectedly.) Even more so if you are privy to some ice! Wish I could go with you!!!!
COUNTRY, sure, I could seperate my ice cream in portions, not a problem, well, yes, there would be a problem - I'd have a helluva lot of extra dishes to wash in just one day!!! Hey, are you gonna have TRISH come bring your butt to LA - you should try and give it a lot of thought about coming!!!!
HEART, well, as I can see it, MS isn't THAT far from LA, is it? We can roll the DD right up to your front door, snag your butt and kidnap you! As for the boobs, remember, we've had kids and they can do a number on you, mentally and physically! Hope BOOGIE doesn't give you a shiner!!! Girl, if you even THINK you might have a problem with those 2 spots, get your butt to the Dr. pronto! Don't worry about the money, just go!!!
BOB, glad I got to talk to you today:D How were those other 2 movies you were suppose to watch?
SEF, if you DON'T come to the SB GET TOGETHER you best believe we'll come to you and hunt you down, kidnap your arse and drag it back to FRUIT'S house with us - you sure don't want to scare the crap out of everyone as we haul you away, now do you. Better make those plans once we give the dates. I'm counting on meeting you FINALLY!!!!
TEENSY, CONGRATS on your loss this week! You're almost there girlfriend, how awesome!!!!:bravo: I hope you heed your own words, as I said the same thing but slipped backwards a bit. Use me as an example of what NOT to do;) Ummm, how in the world can you be so tiny and be an E cup? I never even heard of an E cup!
PANCHO, OMG, I can't believe your DH doesn't know about us - why? Why don't you tell him? Gawd forbid something should ever happen to you and all of a sudden we don't hear from you anymore we'd wonder! My family has instructions to let anyone know if something happens, then again, if there's no board up on Monday, you all would know something's happened somewhere along the lines with me! I don't know if there's anyone else on the board who's family doesn't know about us but this is the first time I've heard of someone. Do you really think he'd think we were all whacked? Now, what the heck is this lump all about? I hope and pray it's nothing serious. I had a lump in my head and it had to be taken out, thank goodness it wasn't anything but it worried me a bit, esp. as it kept growing. When will they know more about what it may be, or be from?
FRUIT, I am ROTFLMAO with your trots and stinky stall story!!! You are too much! As I read, I keep laughing! Oh boy, remind me to tell you that ELI story I have - I know if BOB appreciated it you surely will too!! Remind me NOT to bring any lima beans to the SB GET TOGETHER!!! Speaking of which, time to give up the pooty and the booty to DH - tell him THANK YOU - he won't regret it and may even ask us to come back again!!!! I'll be in touch for/with more details - that is, if I can ever find you at home;) Did you and your DS have a good time today? Does she live near you? Will we get to meet her? Is she crazy as a loon like you? How was the movie?
JEC, thought about you when CLAY was singing the National Anthem at the World Series:) I'm sure those oatmeal cookies didn't harm you any, as long as it was just that time and you don't do like me and eat them day in, day out.
AGAPE, hope you were able to get some sleep and didn't have a re-occuring DEBBIE night! Leave those to me, you don't need them. Hope you had a nice visit with DS and the GK!!!
MAGGIE, you are doing wonderfully. Yes, you CAN get down again. Maybe it will be 125, maybe a tad more, or even a tad less. I had only once in my life gotten to my "goal weight" of 129, but with SB I actually saw 118, though I was more comfortable at 122. I hadn't seen this weight since elementary school. Then again, I think I must of just skipped over that weight in elementary school! If I can do it, ANYONE can. Now I have to convince myself to do it again. Before you know it you will be in new territory, or is it old territory - guess it's all up to how you look at it. Whatever the case, you're headed in the right direction and doing it in the most healthy way you can - CONGRATS!!!!
CHRIS, glad you were able to get to the HFS today and find some of the goodies though I'm sure you probably would of done more damage if DOMINIC hadn't been with you, maybe it's a good thing he was. Did you ask them about the agave by the case? I was surprised that you told me they had the Nana's there because they don't carry them at the store near me. Now that I know they can get them I'll ask them to order some. Look for the Sunflower as I told you. What else did you buy? Did you make the cheesecake with the chocolate? Dying to know how it turned out if you did!! Give yor DS a high-five for me on the Publix peppermint ice cream;) Remind me to tell you the story.
JACKIE, it was sooo nice to finally put a name and a face together. A blond I see! I wish the pics were closer. Oh well, NEXT TIME be ready for your close up shot;) Did you go to the CHER concert? Did you and your GM have a good time? Details!!!
CEEJAY, welcome back, glad you decided to come back and join us.
FILLISE, sorry to hear you aren't feeling well. Hope today is better for you. Sounds like you are running yourself a bit ragged. LOL! You are too much - spaying!!! LOL!!
MONET, hope you too are feeling better. Sounds like LAURA will be in a tough program. That's great she'll be able to have some college credits. That's one reason I want MICHAEL to go to a state university. With his credit from HS he can skip his Freshman year of college, but out of state probably not-of course, having him closer to home is another reason why. MICHAEL is taking more SAT'S on Nov. 1st.
JACKK, WOW! I just don't know how to handle seeing ANOTHER picture of you. Here I ***** and moan about seeing a pic and I get 2 within about a months time:) It's nice to see another one, really. Did you cut your hair since the wedding, or is it pulled back. Do I remember correctly that your hair was longer in the picture from the wedding without having to go back and check to see how bad my memory really is? Looking like you and JACKK were REALLY trying to convince TERRY in letting us have our get together there - between two SB WOMEN - of course he was going to say YES after that!!!!
EMMA, that's great you are not eating through the stress. I believe once you get out the sugar that you won't stress eat like you use to. I was totally OP for almost 2 years straight and not even stress bothered me, but once I let the sugar creep back in on an every day basis, that's when I started to have troubles, so just heed my warnings and don't make the same mistakes I did.
Well, since I started this post I've had the house all to myself this evening. After we picked up LAUREN at the mall -and by the way, MICHAEL drove up and back AND he drove a small stretch on the expressway - yes, DM was white -knuckled the entire time-LAUREN went to babysit and MICHAEL went out with some friends. I spent most of the evening in his bedroom trying to get it somewhat organized. The child has way too many papers. He's already filled up 1 huge trash bag and I found more that filled up 2 boxes that I am going to make him go through. It's getting better but his bed has crap all over it. He'll sleep right next to all the crap too before doing anything with it - that's what I get for getting him a queen size bed! Expecting him home any minute and then LAUREN after midnight. ELI is closing the store tonight so I don't think he'll be home til after 3am. Tomorrow he's off so we'll probably head up to Broward for lunch and to do a few things - bought MICHAEL some sandals on sale at Macy's that are too big, unfortunately. THen to my sisters house.
WOW, I'm surprised, no one on the board all evening, no one since almost 4pm?
I guess the Marlins must of won tonight. Didn't see the end of the game but I hear lots of beeping out on the streets tonight!!!
Will try to check in in the morning!

I have to say that seeing the dawn is greatly overrated. Was up at about 4am this morning - my back won't let me stay asleep for more than a couple of hours at a time. Still doing physical therapy but it doesn't seem to get better. Have to wait until Nov 13th for a Neurosurgeon appointment - I'll be keeping the drug industry going until then!
The only thing that helps is to stay moving. No sitting, no lying, just standing and walking, which is exactly what I spent the whole of Saturday doing. It is good excercise anyway - had a blow out the other day and put on 4 pounds in 24 hours - pretty good going. Back on the plan though so hope it is copming back off.
Cut the lawn and pressure cleaned the side walk - it was a beautiful day here in South Florida. Hardly a cloud in the sky, a light breeze and around 80 degrees - perfect for being outside.
Just returned from my usual 3 mile walk - yes, I normally walk at night as it is cooler and the town is quite safe - who's going to attack a hefty 220 pound guy anyway? Turns out that walking is just about the best excercise one can do for a herniated disc - it strengthens ones back muscles nicely and generally loosens everything up. Not sure how I am going to sleep though - I feel so much better after my walk that I don't want to lay down - it will just aggrevate things again. Oh well - I'll work something out I suppose.
Best wishes to all,
Grant
Ellen

Good Morning, everyone!
Hopped on the metal monster this morning, and it looked promising! ;)
GRANT: with a herniated disc, should you be mowing the lawn? I know they told my 'adopted' daughter not to lift anything over five pounds, and no bending, twisting, or heavy stuff. Take care of yourself! I hope the therapy helps, and you can avoid surgery. As for those four pounds, bet they are just water, and will be gone in no time!
DEB: I got a carton of peppermint stick ice cream yesterday. I decided to open it when I get into new territory. Ice cream was on sale 2 for $5, but I resisted stocking up and only got two! Oh, can I relate on your white knuckles. Riding with my kids scares me to death. It got so bad, that now I can't ride with anyone. When I am going somewhere, I have to drive. Tom is indulgent at least! Sorry about the pot pies. If you are buying them regularly, it seems stupid for them not to carry them!
Gotta quit for now...Tom is still trying to sleep and the typing is annoying him! :s:

OMG, I'm sooo tired:tired: Bad sleeping last night. I was so tired last night but stayed up waiting, and worrying about MICHAEL. He went out with friends and told me he'd be home right after the movie. Knowing when and where he went I knew he should of been home at a certain time, or thereabouts. He comes trapsing in the house at 1:45pm-told me they met friends, talked and lost track of time, esp. since no one carries a watch? THAT won't be happening again! Was so wound up and bp was racing because I was mad I couldn't fall alseep until about 4amish. Woke up at the normal 6ish, fell back asleep until my sister called at 8:30! My butt will be dragging today:tired:
GRANT, sorry to hear you aren't getting the relief, but hey, at least if walking is giving you some relief, it's a great exercise - better that than be confined to the bed, flat on your back and not being able to move I'd say. I use to walk at night, not anymore:nono: Now when I do, it's early morning. People almost hit me when it's sunny, I'm not going to be easier target practice for them when it's dark.
MONET, have you tried the pp ice cream before? How long do you THINK you can hold out - me, it's lucky I don't open the carton in the parking lot, which I have to admit I've done in the past, but mostly small pints-doesn't matter if I have a spoon or not, my teeth can dig in for me!:^: I'm going to get just one of ppmint and one of the red velvet and pray that I don't dive in to both in one day, but it's going to be hard, I know myself all too well. I know I'm not the only one eating those pot pies - hope others complain!
Gonna go get ready for the day, will try and check in later.

Hello.
Yeah it's me and on a weekend. Hubby is working today so I have the computer for a while.
I'm right along with Deb and the others that haven't been able to sleep worth a flip lately. I have no clue what I've done, but my left shoulder, actually it's more the upper left part of my back right under my shoulder, is killing me. It's been hurting a little all week long, but yesterday it really started hurting, it was/is so bad that I can't hardly turn my head. Sleep was not good because every time I would turn over I woke up to pain. I'm probably going to call the doc tomorrow and have it checked out.
Eating yesterday was good. I left those dang oatmeal cookies alone! Actually I was wanting some chocolate and nothing else would hit the spot. I can't find any legal chocolate here at all and it really irritates me. Chocolate has always been my fav.
BOB, If this is what you had, I can't imagine how you went to work and did all the things you did while hurting. Oh, I found some Yankee candles in the BX of all places yesterday. I got the Macintosh and Christmas cookie ones. They smell so good. I can smell them now and they aren't even burning!
Deb, I'm not much of a sports fan, but when I read that Clay was gonna be singing the National Anthem at the world series last night, I tuned in just long enough to see him. I told my mom yesterday that he could probably burp the ABC's and put that on a c.d. and I'd probably buy it too. I don't know what it is about him, I just LOVE to hear him sing. An E cup is the same thing as a DD cup. I found that out from a lady that worked at JC Penney's a long time ago, and a DDD cup is also the same as an F cup. I wonder why they don't just say E and F instead of DD and DDD?
Ok, I've got to go see if I can't find some way to get a little relief from this mess. I'll talk to y'all later.

DEB: I could not find the red velvet flavor...I hope they get it up here eventually! I can probably hold out for a while with the ppmint. Shall I see how long I can wait??? :) Seriously, if I am down one more pound by Wednesday, I will be in new territory...this morning I was back to my all time low. So...if I go down more, the ice cream is coming out and being opened to celebrate! Of course, I will probably be back up then...sigh. ;)
I only got one ppmint..the other one is Moose Trax. When Laura sees that one in the freezer, she will probably take it and eat it with a spoon right out of the carton in front of the TV. Its disgusting! She is tall and thin...just not fair! She eats all kinds of junk, and never gains a pound. Ruth on the other hand, is like me and gains just looking at food. Poor thing....and she married a chef!
JECRITES: I am sorry your shoulder is bothering you! Do try a heating pad, or ice...which ever one feels best. I would imagine heat would do better. And take some ibuprofen or something. The correct way, that many don't realize, is to take it regularly for a few days even if the pain goes away. That way, it keeps the inflammation down and the area can heal. When I first started having Rheumatoid arthritis problems, my doctor explained that to me. It does work better that way. I can't believe you can't find legal chocolate anywhere! Do you want me to mail you some? I can get all kinds very easily....I would be happy to send some to a fellow chocoholic! ;)
Ellen

JECRITES and DEB: I think they call the cups DD and DDD instead of E and F, because it sounds better! Actually, I think some places there is a difference. My daugther used to wear a 38DD, and now has to wear a 38F. The DDD did not fit right. I have always worn a DD since I got married. Before that, I wore a C. Did they start making bras smaller, or did taking the Pill for six months mess me up permanently? :chin:

I forgot to tell y'all that Friday when the girls got home from school, Kerri had fallen off of something in gym and her nose was bleeding and her top lip was swollen. The school didn't call me because my cell # is long distance for them. Thanks to hubby, we don't have a home phone, just cells. They did call him at work, but I was still mad about it, and on top of that, they didn't even give her any ice to put on there. I'm going to have a chat with her teacher on Thursday when we go have our parent/teacher conference. Then I'm gonna check into a home phone if they won't call my cell unless it's a major emergency. There will come a day when they can't get hold of hubby at work and they'll have no choice but to call my cell. I had her put ice on it and it's gone down now, of course that happened at the end of the day on Friday and now it's Sunday. I'm glad she was in gym and didn't have on those expensive glasses, and that the floor is one of those rubber type floors instead of concrete or wood.
Monet, I think different styles of bras fit different. Some of mine that are marked DDD/F fit with a little extra room in them and some fit exactly right and then some I'm falling out of. They may have started making them smaller too, who knows! My GM said that she thinks when they are sizing stuff they just stick a tag on something just to give it a size and it doesn't matter if it's the actual size or not. I think I may have just slept wrong one night for my shoulder to be doing this, either that or these big boobies have finally got to me. I'm not supposed to take ibuprofen because it will raise the blood pressure. I did take tylenol, but it didn't seem to really help any. I know if it's no better tomorrow, I'm probably gonna call the doc. It kind of feels like it needs to be popped or something.
I'll keep checking back every now and again, but right now gotta get the kids cleaning up their rooms, and really do need to at least start laundry, prob won't get much done because of the shoulder, but at least a start. Talk to y'all later.

Ugh, still not feeling any better. I have to run some errands, but definatly DO NOT feel like doing anything!
The following rumination was sparked by Monet and Deb's metion of the pepperming ice cream---um,how ironic is it that we are celebrating the purchase of ice cream on the SB board???? :nono:
Now, I'm not one to point fingers lately, because I've not been totally OP either. And that brings me to something I've been turning over in my mind recently--that is a caution from the original book that SB is a low sugar, not a no sugar lifestyle. I wonder if we don't make a mistake by trying to eliminate sugar completely from our lives? Are we setting ourselves up so that we seek happiness in what is forbidden? I know, I know, most of us can't have one cookie or one bite of ice cream and stop. But I also know that when I go off program, I tend to cram as much sugar in as a can before I give it up again. That's not good either. I also know that since adopting this WOE, I've made some changes that appear to be permanent. I no longer drink sugared soft drinks because I choose not to drink something like 16 teaspoons of sugar in one sitting ( I don't think you get that much sugar in a slice of cake!) And I find that I now like whole grains better than refined grains--so I choose to use them. I also like sweet potatoes, though once in a while I would choose a baked white potato--and I'm not sure that in an otherwise OP day that would be such a bad thing every now and again.
I think there really is something to the idea that if a food becomes "forbidden" it becomes the thing we want the most. We think about it all the time and when we fall for it we overdo it.
So I've been thinking seriously about changing my approach to SB. I still believe in the nutritional tenets of SB, but I think I'm going to see if I can work on making it what it is suppoed to be--a longterm set of nutritional guidelines, but not a straightjacket. In otherwords, simply the way I eat most of the time instead of a diet. No food will be forbidden. Whole grains, proteins, veggies, fruits and the right kinds of fats will be simply what I try to incorporate into my nutritional plans. But I will recognize that there will be times when I eat other things as well. Life is too short to go through it constantly feeling deprived--and it is also too short not to eat nutritionally. In other words, I think I'm going to try to see if I can--at long last--put food in it's place. It is fuel, not the source of my happiness.
I'll let you know how it goes.

AFTERNOON FROM THE WEST COAST OF FLA!!!
It's another beautiful day here and I just got back from my Nephew's house...FINALLY took Tracy her birthday goodies
and got to see the nursery. They are doing it in blue and cream with a Noah's Ark border. It's going to look really sweet!
Got the word that my piano will be delivered BACK to my house
next Saturday. I had given it to Jeff a number of years back and it was in the room that has now become the nursery. They measured everywhere, but it will just not fit..SO I get it back!
Didn't mention giving me back all my music though... :?:
THE ITALIAN JOB is WONDERFUL...you must see it!
NORMAL is really good too. DEB, you would like this one, it's very touching...
Today is LAUNDRY day here at the PAGE HOUSEHOLD...When I got back from The Kids house, Kate had already put on her beans to cook, now all I have to do is the chicken.
JEC...if you have a WALGREEN'S, get their brand of blue ice in a jar. It will be the BEST $5.99 you will EVER SPEND! If not, get the real BLUE ICE at your PX....Do it morning and night...it was the biggest help I had....along with the pain meds! I can relate GIRLFRIEND...I feel you pain!
Well....gotta go....

FILLISE: I think you are on to something. I find if I don't obsess about what I can't have, but act like sometimes I can enjoy it without guilt, I tend to be more in control. Interestingly, I find I am losing better with that kind of an attitude, then when I was sticking strictly to program. It may be in part due to eating MORE, but I honestly don't understand why sometimes I lose and sometimes I don't. I am thinking it may have something to do with not having coffee lately. I drink hot tea, and usually without anything in it. Coffee I drink very light...with half and half...so maybe its the calories or something? Who knows? As long as I don't eat the whole carton of ice cream, it should not be such a bad thing. Some things DO bother me...and I need to stay away from them, but isn't it all about learning control? Hope you are feeling better soon!
BOB: Do you play the piano? That is something I always wanted to be able to do. We had an old piano when I was a kid, but it was in very bad shape, and terribly out of tune. I am taking a music class from the worship director at church, and he is teaching us to read music and all. I am thinking I may invest in a piano, or keyboard and see if I can learn to play....

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I didn't post sooner. Busy weekend. My Ex husband had the two year old this weekend so I had the whole weekend to myself. I read a lot of the SB book on Friday. Let me get this straight, basically I can have all low glycemic foods right? Like today I went food shopping and bought All Bran, plums, peaches, lots of veggies, some nuts, more chicken breasts.
I went out to Borders today and bought the SB shopping list book. It would really help me if some of you guys and gals would post what you ate like today or tomorrow so I can get the idea of this diet.
Deb, I wish I knew earlier that you were interested in yard sales because my parents had a large one at their house in Coral Springs. We had like 50 people at one time and made like $400.

Ok it worked. I really think that if I had to explain my personality to anyone it would be Weeza and Claree from Steel Magnolias all wrapped into one! If you have seen the movie, combine the 2 characters and you've got me! HAHA! Kinda scary

Evening All:wave:
Had a short day up in Broward with ELI before we had to come get the kids and go to my sisters house for my nieces party. I did fine, had some Breyers ice cream but barfed that up-does it count?:?: I didn't touch the cake, OMG, it looked so disgusting with a ton of icing on it, I mean a LOT of icing! I mean, I love buttercream icing, don't get me wrong, but there seemed to be more icing than cake! Even took my own lf hotdogs to put on the grill. Didn't do bad as far as I was concerned.
I went to Target and bought a Sharp microwave. It's not the one I wanted from Brandsmart, a huge place we have down here with probably a good 50 microwaves to choose from, but they've had this one on order for a couple weeks and didn't know when it would be in. So, I got this one just in case the other doesn't come in the next couple days, since it was on sale. It's 1.0 c/f and 1100 watts. I can live with it if it does the job. One of the things that bothered me about the other microwave I had to take back was this...my old one was 900watts and I made popcorn in it and it took 2min 22 seconds - didn't matter on the brand either, it was all the same, give or take a few seconds more/less. When I tried it with a more powerful microwave of 1200 watts it didn't even pop half the bag in the same amount of time. Wouldn't one think stronger wattage, shorter time? They have this popcorn button and even that was useless. I want something simple, nothing so complicated you have to have a engineering degree to figure out how to use it! I'm so electronically challenged it's not funny:lol:
Okay, on to some replies...
JEC, I had that problem with my shoulder a few weeks ago. It seemed to occur shortly after one of my yoga classes when we were doing the "bridge" pose. It took quite a while to go away and bothered me not only when I tried to sleep but just in general. I hope you find relief soon and also to get some sleep. We'll both be walking around looking like zombies:tired: I think, with CLAY, people like him because he's a down-to-earth person and the work that he does with special needs children. It's funny though, as the runner up, he seems to be doing better than RUBEN. OMG, you mean I use to wear and F cup? I like DDD better, I think:shrug: When I was younger, they use to call me DaDaDa- D-bra!
MONET, I think you should hold out for sure, I did!:D Actually, they had one container left at the store, but no peppermint at all, nada:nono: So I didn't buy any. When you get in to new territory you won't want it to celebrate with, you'll want to savor that territory and not screw it up - right? I can easily sit down with the entire container of ice cream and eat it, unfortunately I've done it many times in the past, and unfortunately, I'm not thin like LAURA and can't afford to do this, but I do:shrug:
JEC, I can't believe that they didn't call you from the school. Gosh, I would just tell them next time, use 10-10-987 and you'll pay them the $1 when you come to get her! Geez!!! Thank goodness it wasn't worse, but then, what would they constitute as being worse, and at what point would they pay for a phone call?
FILLISE, sorry to hear you're still not feeling well:( I totally agree with what you wrote about SB. It is not a no sugar lifestyle but a low sugar lifestyle. We all have sugars in our WOE every day, most are naturally occuring, or so they should be. When I started SB I was totally no sugar unless it was natural-that's how I approached this WOE. Even if something said it had 3grams of sugar or less and per SB rules was okay, if I saw sugar, or any form of it in the ingredients I wouldn't buy it. It was easy, really, I had no problem sticking to doing that. I think we are all so different and the way we approach this WOE is going to be as well. Some people can easily cheat with one bite, or one piece, or one meal. I am not one of them. I think if we truly know ourselves and our downfalls we can follow this WOE to make it work for us. For me, it's all or nothing. I have to take the approach that these foods are destructive for me because they are. I haven't been able to learn how to eat just a little without going in to a tailspin. Yet, someone else may be able to eat just a little and have no problem going right back OP. I too have made what I deem as permanent changes, many like yours with the soda, whole gains, etc., which is wonderful. It's like, with BEACHFAN, she always ate bananas and made goal, even though they said to not eat bananas, it worked for her. The point is to try and learn a WOE that you can live with doing the rest of your life. Of course, I don't believe there's a single soul on this board who will ever be able to 100% stay OP without straying from time-to-time. What I find is most important is to try to get to a comfortable weight first and then give yourself the option of enjoying an occasional treat from time-to-time. I think that many people who go on a "diet" want to see results of their efforts and if they keep going off plan and taking 2 steps back after going 1 step forward, they get so discouraged. If one "treats themselves once in a while, no problem. It's when that one in a while becomes more of a once a day thing. Of course, this is just my humble opinion & I can ramble on til the cows come home. Again, whatever works for you, you go for it-that's what I always say! :)
BOB, will have to look for that movie-who's in it? So, where the piano was, what's there now? We tried calling you today - busy, busy - you missed another call from your Sweetie!!!!
MOM, hope you had a peaceful weekend to yourself:) You don't have to eat solely low GI foods, moderate are okay as well and if there's a high GI food you'd like to have, try to pair it with a low GI food so you'll have a moderate GI level. Sounds like you got some great stuff to eat at the store. Will try to post a daily menu this week. Sounds like you made some good $$ this weekend. Yes, I do love good garage sales. I'm hoping to organize a block sale with my neighbors next month, I have to get rid of some of this junk in my house. Glad you got the SB SHOPPERS GUIDE, it's helpful when you are first starting out. Do you have any questions after reading the book?
FRUIT, will have to go dig that movie back up!!!
Okay, I'm outta here til tomorrow morning. See you all on the new weekly board.

Thanks for the reply Deb. Didn't finish reading SB book yet. I'm in the middle of it. I will try to finish it this week. Did you go to the Brandsmart at Sawgrass Mills Mall? That's where I go for all of my electronics needs, when I have the moola!!!

Hello gang....it's late, so this will be another short one. We went to Mom's yesterday for our weekly pot luck. I took the Sauerkraut with German sausages in it. It was soooo goood!! Everyone liked it, so I guess the work was worth it.
Dh is still playing hunter.....be has had no luck yet. I am going up on the mountain with him tomorrow or Tuesday. Will be a nice way to spend the day. Taking the chainsaw to cut some wood too. Don't know why, but that is something Ted really enjoys.....cutting wood!
Sef-- Just a quick Thank You again for taking the time to share your recipe with me, the sauerkraut turned out awesome. My Aunt Carol said it was the best homemade sauerkraut she had ever eaten!!
Deb-- Thanks for the encouragement.....it is always nice to hear. As for the cup size....just lucky I guess. Yeah, right!! And I am not really tiny, am 5'5"-6" I had never heard of that size either, but this is a boutique for full busted women. And very expensive! The great thing though is that they fit you, and have great support.
Jec-- I wish I had known all that....I could be buying my bras at a regular store now. What is a FF?? That is what my last ones were!
Good night all.......hope to be more available for replies next time!
Thinking of all of you!!
