Good morning!!
Got off to an early start and all the big monsters are off for school already, so I thought I would stop in and say hi. I woke up a few minutes early this am, and got my walk in. But I felt kind of sluggish~ probably the pizza I had last night for dinner. (stayed within points range, though) Just all the salt is probably why I feel so s-l-o-w. This morning is my meeting and I am going:D . Can't wait for a little "me" time. I never got to have that chicken meatloaf last night (will do so for tonight) as I had to go pick up Ds from school and got back too late-we also had to pick up the car from the mechanic and there was just too much running around.
Well, I had better go get my funky hide in the shower.....have a great morning!

(sorry for not getting personal this am, I am feeling so tired)

10-08-2003, 10:12 AM
Good morning all!
Ginny I can't wait to hear all about your meeting and your WI!!! Canyou tell me the point difference between extra lean ground beef and lean ground turkey breast? My food companion doesn't have pts for those and I am going to make that meatloaf tonight too but I'm out of ground turkey and forgot to buy some yesterday while I was out (got the egg beaters though) so I need to know if there is going to be a big pts difference.
Well I don't have anything planned today. Just cleaning up the kitchen and getting some bedding washed... other than that it's a lazy kind of day for me. I guess I'll get started on that kitchen. TTYL!

Hey gals,

I probably went way over my calorie limits yesterday. Oh, well, it really couldn't be helped. Money is extremely tight here for the next week or so and our cupboards are getting quite bare. So, we had thanksgiving dinner a little early this year, lol. We have had a turkey in the deep freeze for several months, so we took it out and cooked it. Of course, if I was cooking a turkey, I was gonna fix the stuff that went with it, LOL. I think I will just have to try not to worry about it and do the best I can with eating small portions until I have the money to go buy groceries and be able to buy lower in fat stuff.

Spryng: our kitchen needs cleaning too. It's a huge mess after cooking our turkey dinner last night. Both dh and I were very tired last night so we left it til this morning. In fact, I can hear dh in there unloading the dishwasher.

Melissa: Getting your pictures done at Wal-Mart here is a crapshoot. Sometimes they are really good and other times they are off center and really bad. I just had the boys' pics done there a month or so ago. They turned out ok. They would have been better if two of the little stinkers had smiled! :sp:

Nothing major planned here today. Dd is on fall break right now and I am keeping my nephew as well. A home interior lady is supposed to come over this afternoon and help me figure out some stuff to go in my living room (need accessories for my pictures). It's my Christmas present from my parents.

Have a good day everyone!

Good Morning Ladies!!! Well, dinner was just ok last night... i didnt really care for the nonfat sauce... it didnt taste right... altho everyone tried it...lol and the chicken would be better wrapped in foil so it stays moist. But live and learn... lol I am making meatloaf tonight...lol for some strange reason i have a craving for it...lol! Just have to figure out what to make with it. I will probably doctor up last nights pasta and serve that...lol its better than throwing it away. I did all my exercises yesterday and am feeling a bit sore today... but i will trudge on. Guess thatas all for now... I will check back in later... take care of u

Julie how nice of your parents! I love home interior!! And about not being able to buy low fat items and such... boy have I been there a few times, lol. Just try to eat small portions and maximize your veggies, they are cheap too! That way you can still get satisfied from your meals. I can't wait until we have our turkey dinner. It's a family event here. Infact it will probably be a good idea to start looking for WW friendly recipes. Lastyear we made the turkey and it was wonderful! DH stuffed it with sliced apples, celery, and onion, and then basted it every 1/2 hour and it was amazing. Everyone couldn't get over how wonderful it was. Now that is the only way we make our chicken and turkeys! (you don't eat the stuffing it's just for flavoring) But anyway, thinking about it makes my mouth water. I know what I'll be using my flex points on that week! lol
Sandy, I guess it's meat loaf night for all us us!! Does sound good doesn't it? I'm making mashed potatoes and gravy and steamed broccoli with mine. Yum! Good for you for getting your exercise in. It's hard at first to make it a habit... but then one day you'll not do it and miss it... weird huh? At least that is what happens to me :)
Well, gotta go! TTYL!

10-08-2003, 11:06 AM
Hi Gang!

Sorry I have been MIA. I caught DD's Cold and am miserable because all my cold meds in the house have WAY too many carbs in them! I am going to the store after I do the drop off at school to find some SF cold meds!

Spryng - Ok here is one pic for you!

That was taken Sunday. If you look at my face in the avitar and in that pic, you will see a huge difference! I am going to see if I can get some full figure shots later this week. We have been swamped!

MEL - YOU GO GIRL!! WTG on the Loss!!! I cant wait to see Myra's Pictures!!

Spryng - Do you have a Low Carb Recipe or link to a recipe around for Meatloaf? After Sandy's Post.. I am craving meatloaf too!

Sandy - did I welcome you? I dont think so! I am KAren, SAHM to 2, ds age 7 and dd age 5. I have battled my weight all my life but found that Atkins is the way to go for me these days. Doctors Orders! You will love posting here! These gals are the greatest!! :)

Ginny - I hope WI today goes GREAT! I am anxiously awaiting the results! :) ME time? What is that?? LOL!

Well, I need to run. Gotta drop the kids off at school then I am heading to the store for cold meds and tea!! I have to teach crochet tonight and I want to at least be able to breathe a bit! So much for the exercise! I might see if I can walk on the treadmill for 15-20 minutes! My body is craving the exercise!

10-08-2003, 12:53 PM
Karen, what a HUGE difference in your face!!! The van ain't bad, either. :) One of the things I love about losing weight is having cheekbones again. :D Sorry about your cold... hope you are feeling better soon. Dd has a whopper of a cold right now....... I almost kept her home from school again today.

Spryng, that turkey sounds wonderful! I am going to try a similar recipe for thanksgiving this year, but you marinate the turkey in apple cider beforehand..... it sounds delish! Hope you finished the kitchen and are enjoying the rest of the day. :)

Ginny, Can't wait to hear about WI! Sorry you are so tired, though. I don't know why you would be..... not like you are busy and get up at the crack of dawn, or anything. :p

Sandy, sorry you didn't fully enjoy your dinner. :( I have a nice recipe for cheese sauce that does not use butter..... I will dig it up and pass it along. Of course, it could just be the same recipe!

Julie, have fun with the decorator! And don't worry too much about what you're eating, and more about how much you eat. Hopefully, you can combat things that way. I, personally, plan on eating a "regular" thanksgiving dinner this year, just in moderation. One day is not gonna break me! :D

Mel,I caught your updateon the previos thread.... can't wait to see those precious pics!!!!! Thanks for checking in, and big congrats on your loss. :D

Well, I have had a bit of a lazy morning, but I gotta get my butt in gear. I still have not had the tire fixed on my car (been driving on the spare) so ds and I are headed out to do that now. I can leave the car and walk next door to a little plaza and do some shopping to pass the time. Then, I need to get home and plant the GORGEOUS mums dh bought me for our anniversary. And work tonight...... so, better get moving....... have a good one! :)

10-08-2003, 03:07 PM
Oh Jen that would be nice of u ... i would appreciate the recipe... Karen u look wonderful... there is a big difference in your face... u look more beautiful! I hope everyone is having a wonderful day...Its gorgeous here so i am going to go out wash the car... talk to u all later!

Sandy:dance: :flow1:

10-08-2003, 04:25 PM
Good afternoon all!!
Karen what a difference 18 lbs make huh?? And your new van is very sharp looking! You look so happy in that picture. It's great to "see" you, lol. I promise to post more pic of myself too... but after I get a scanner. I plan on buying one maybe next friday... we'll see. We have to buy Dh a tv, fridge, and microwave for his truck on the 17th and I think I may get me a scanner. So you will all get to see me and my family some day!! Oh and Karen about the meatloaf... I don't have a certain recipe but what I did was use ground beef, crushed pork rinds, egg, and then a little minced onion, and lots of seasonings for my meatloafs while I was on atkins... that mixture is also great to stuff into green bellpeppers too (only 5 carbs per large stuffed pepper)
Jen sounds like the rest of your day wil be very busy. Have fun planting those mums! I can't wait for spring to plant some flowers next year.
Sandy, washing the car is great exercise! lol. I forget we can do it ourselves and not drive through an automatic car wash :) I may have to wash mine too!
Well my day is going pretty well. I helped dd clean her room... it needed it. She got her first barbie yesterday (actually one of those brats barbies, a miniture one) and she was having a hard time keeping up with all the little things that came with it so I helped her clean her floor up so she can sit and play with her little doll. This friday I am officially buying her first Barbie. I think she is ready. :) She's excited. I was about 6 years old when I got my first barbie, she's only 3 (will be four in dec) but she has been playing well with that Brats doll so I think she is ready. (this is a big deal for me for some reason, lol.) But anyway, I got my kitchen cleaned up... bedding washed, I need to get it dried... and dd room cleaned so the day has been fruitful so far. I have my lean ground beef thawing out and everything is in order for my meatloaf dinner.
Ginny, still waiting on your results!! Did I tell you I called our local meetings here to get some info on them? I was reading on the WW site and alot of people who attend a meeting take their kids because there is an onsite day care for the meeting. So I called the one here in town to see if they had one too. She was very nice and said if my kids were quiet I could bring them with me... well, 3,2 and 3 month old aren't quiet, so I can't and I have no one to watch them so I can't go. If I can find one on fridays then I will be able to go in the future because I'm going to start paying my SIL to watch the kids for me on fridays so I can get errands done without them... so I'm looking around. I would really like to join a meeting. Just meeting people would be nice with the added benefit of weight loss. I'm stuck in this town and I'm all alone... my closet friend is 14 hours away. So I feel so isolated at times and I need to meet some women and have adult conversations every now and then, lol. Of course I have all of you which I thank my lucky stars for or I'd go crazy here alone with my thoughts!!
Well, I'm off to scour the net. TTYL!

10-08-2003, 06:07 PM
I hear u on the adult conversations and such Spryng... where in Kansas are u? My brother(the one that passed away) was a DJ in Wichita( i can never spell that) lol just wondering. I also know the feeling of being stuck in a place... i want to go back ot school so i can meet some new people and get my paralegal degree. I am looking into starting in January, just depends on the availability and the cost. I will check back later... ttfn!

10-09-2003, 12:16 AM
Good evening all!
Sandy I would love to go back to school too someday. I plan to after all 3 kids start school, so I have to wait another 4 years, lol. And I live in a little town called Ft.Scott. It's a little farming town. Old fashioned and boring. I moved here a year ago so that my kids could be closer to their grandparents (my in laws) I have no family here but a cousin to whom I'm not very close to... she only calls when she needs something. So I'm alone. MIL and I get along ok but it's quite the effort. I'm actually glad that now that Dh is gone alot I don't have to see them very often. When Dh was home we were over there ALL the time. So now I have a break.
But anyway... my day went well. The meatloaf turned out great!! And I have two slices left over for a meal tomorrow too. I got my lower body workout in and now I am so tired.
Ginny, oh Ginny! Still anxiously waiting to hear from you!!! :) Hopefully it wasn't a bad WI that is keeping you away tonight. We are here for you!
Well gals, I need to go to bed but my Dh hasn't called me yet. He usually calls at 9 pm, right after I put the kids down but now it's 10:15 and still no phone call. I'm trying not to worry but he tells me about all these wrecks he sees constantly and most involving a semi. He probably is sleeping... He doesn't have a cell phone yet so I can't call him. I have to wait on him. So I think I'm going to give it until 11 pm and then I have to get some sleep. I'll talk to you all tomorrow! :)

10-09-2003, 12:21 AM
Good Evening ladies!! Well, the meatloaf turned out excellent!! i even had 2 slices left over for tomorrow too Spryng...lol I had it with Veggies and cheese sauce. It was quite filling. Even managed to stay under my calories as well! Hope u all have a wonderful evening... sweet dreams...

Sandy:dance: :flow1:

10-09-2003, 01:09 AM
Just checking in...I've been exhausted this week. Partly PMS I'm sure and partly catching up from our trip (drove all night Thursday- no sleep!) I'm afraid I gave into some chocolate and peanut butter cravings tonight (unfortuneatly on top of ice-cream-lol) I'm not very focused this week. I made a low- fat dinner though- the honey-mustard chicken I was going to do yesterday. It was great- very flavorful.

Sorry to not get personal tonight- but I have go to get some zzzzzzs. Talk to you tomorrow!

10-09-2003, 10:56 AM
Morning :)

Well, I lucked out at work last night and got sent home at 4am because we were so slow..... I was able to get 3 hours of sleep before having to get up to see the kids off to school........ BONUS! Unfortunately, I have to take a ride back in today to pick up the tickets I purchased to the hockey game this weekend that the girl never left for me last night... oh well. It will be fun to bring ds, though, and show him off to my co-workers. :) And, I baked them an apple crisp. :)

I also need to call the doc this morn and try to get in to have my hand looked at. Monday night at work, a mysterious "bump" appeared on the back of my wrist, at the base of my thumb. It is very swollen, tender, and red around the area. I don't remember injuring it in any way.... it just appeared spontaneously. Of course, it could not have appeared BEFORE my physical on Monday morning! One of the nurse practitioners I work with thought it may be a ganglion cyst, but said I should have it checked to be sure...... so I am about to call the doc.

Well, gotta run.... sorry for not getting personal. I hope everyone is doing well. I am still OP and loving it! Have a great day! :)

10-09-2003, 11:35 AM
Good morning all!
Jen, I hope you find out what that bump is and it goes away fast. If it is a cyst, how do you get rid of it? Do you think it could be some kind of bug bite?
Emily I hope you get rested up! That chicken sounds very good I may have to try it someday. Today is leftover day for us. I have that meat loaf and those lemon chicken breasts with herbs to eat.
I ended up getting woke up at 1:30 am by DH. He over slept and didn't hear his alarm going off in the truck so that's why he didn't call me. So I stayed up to talk to him and now I am dragging! But he'll be home in 8 days. I'm almost counting down the hours! lol.
Well anyway... I made a big mess in my kitchen last night while cooking and also this morning (I made the kids eggs and bacon, which I hardly every do) so now it's even messier. So that is what I will be doing today. Tomorrow though is shopping day and I'm looking forward to it! :)
Well, I'll catch you all later. Ginny is everything ok? I'm starting to worry about you. Email me if you need to talk ok?

10-09-2003, 12:59 PM
Sorry this has to be short.....got some sickies here (both Dd's) but of course the big one HAD to go into school late, which means that I will be on the road again late tonight to pick her up from her soccer game.......never a dull one.
I served the chicken meatloaf recipe......and everyone who ate it loved it. Thanks Jen!!!! (it was you, right)?
Gotta go- but oddly enough just yesterday aT WW they gave me the points for ground beef. So for all you WW'ers, here it is. I will be back on later to get personal.
all of the below are for 1 # uncooked meat.
Beef ground:
5-7%fat 15 points
10%fat 19 pts
15%fat 21pts
20%fat 23pts
regular 25 pts

dark meat (w/o skin and bones) 15 pts
white meat (w/o skin and bones) 12 pts

Lean 16pts
regular 20 pts

10-09-2003, 05:06 PM
Ginny, sorry your dd's are sick. :( Glad you enjoyed the chicken meatloaf........ yes, it was me. :)

Spryng, glad you heard from dh, even if it did keep you up later than usual.... I'm sure it was worth it. :)

Emily, get some rest! :)

Sandy, glad you enjoyed your meatloaf, too. :)

Sorry for the short replies..... I am a bit out of sorts today, and feeling a little overwhelmed. I am dealing with a couple of potential health issues that I am trying not to worry about until I have some more definitive info, but it is difficult. As for the bump on my hand, well, that is just one more annoyance on top of everything else. The doc confirmed that it is a ganglion cyst, which is normally not a big deal and wouldn't cause problems, but mine is in an unusual spot. Most are located on the top of the hand and are only removed for cosmetic reasons. Mine is at the base of the thumb, on the wrist, right at the joint, of my dominant hand. She felt it would probably need to be surgically removed because of the pain and pressure it will cause on the joint and tendon. I see the hand surgeon next month.

Anyway, my eating has at least been good, and I am still OP. No exercise yet today, but I am going to try to sneak off for a walk when dh gets home, because I could really use to clear my head. I am really dying to just order pizzas for dinner and pig out, but I know that won't solve anything. I have some chicken in the freezer and will cook up something healthy instead. I know I'll feel better, in the long run.

Hope everyone is doing well.

10-09-2003, 05:19 PM
Jen sorry to hear that some issues have you down today. I do hope that everything works out. If you ever want to talk I'm a really good listener (spryng@classicnet.net) email me anytime, ok? But you deserve a walk. I sure miss being able to take one when Dh was here every evening. It really helped me clear my head and be alone with my thoughts.
I did come accross some good recipes today. One of which I plan to make on saturday (it's a crock pot dish) I'll post the recipe after this.
My day has been going well. The kids have been good. Tanner isn't eating as much as he normally does today, which was starting to concern me but then he finished off 4 oz of his bottle, so I think he is fine. I guess he just wasn't hungry.
Well, I am off here to see what needs to be done around the house. TTYL!

10-09-2003, 05:23 PM
CrockPot Sour Cream and Salsa Chicken

(4 servings @ 4 pts each)

4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
1 pkg taco seasoning mix
1 cup salsa
2 tbls cornstarch
1/4 c FF sour cream

1. Spray crockpot w/ cooking spray
2. Add chicken breasts, top with salsa, cook on low for 6-8 hours.
3. When ready remove chicken. Mix cornstarch w/ small amount of water, stir into salsa sauce. Stir in sour cream.

Alot say they love this as leftovers too in tortillas and such. Most served it over rice. That's how I'm going to try it. :) TTYL!

10-10-2003, 10:16 AM
Good morning all~
What a week...why does PMS have to be so tormenting to me?? I haven't had a great week- haven't felt that well, have over-ate, have been sooo busy, have been less than stellar to DH and the kids. The house is a wreck and I'm feeling generally overwhelmed with life. "This too shall pass" I know...just looking for that different mind-set to take over and feel great again!! On top of all that our computer is on a fritz, so if I happen to disappear you will know why. I think it's time for a new one! Today I have my mouse taken apart and I'm scrolling with the innards  what a pain!! And takes forever to navigate!

Thanks for that recipe Spryng- I love chicken tacos- and anything Mexican for that matter.

Well, It's time to get breakfast on and the kids up for the day. I was up at 5:45 to feed the baby and didn't get back to sleep. Should have exercised, but at least got some cleaning done. I'll check back if it doesn't take me forever!!

Jen- hope you get everything worked out...take care.

10-10-2003, 10:44 AM
Good morning all!
Wow do I feel great today. Actually got myself in bed by 10:30 pm last night and it's almost 9 am and the kids are still out! This doesn't happen often, they are usually up by 7:30-8 am. But I am not complaining! lol.
Emily, I hope your PMS goes away soon. I'm still suffering from it too. After Tanner was born I got that new IUD Mirena put in and it has really screwed my cycles up. The first two months my period lasted 3 wks, then 2 wks, and now this time I'm late getting my period so the PMS is sticking around. I thought it would have showed it's head today since last night I felt really crummy and was soooo hungry (that's usually a sign for me) so I went to bed to avoid the kitchen. Mirena is suppose to lighten your periods and then you'll eventually have none. Well, after the first year, not the 3rd month. Makes me kinda worried... but I know it's in place right and I'm NOT pregnant, so I'm just trying to wait it out. Ugh. Being women sometimes is so hard.
But anyway, I'll take my mind off of it today by SHOPPING! Taking the kids to get them a treat apiece and probably out to lunch. I'm buying myself some treats too... new bras and panties! I'm one of those women who don't buy maternity underwear or bras so mine get pretty stretched out, so I went through my drawer and took out all the ones that are in bad shape and was suprised to find it was almost all of them and all but one bra so it's time for new ones. (I haven't bought a new bra in 3 years!!) so I feel like it's a treat. Ok, I'm getting off here. I guess I'll have to wake the kiddos up and start getting ready. TTYL! Have a great Friday all!

10-10-2003, 11:16 AM
Good morning all!

I am still feeling pretty crumby with this cold, but I have so much to do that I have to just ignore it!

My Kids are going on a field trip to the bowling alley for Cosmic bowling. Have you all heard of that? THey use blac lights and florecent clothing and have smoke and all sorts of stuff while they are bowling. It was a prize for selling magazines at school. Should be interesting! I get to be a chaperone!

Got on the scale yesterday just to see if all the cold meds I have been taking has hurt me as far as losing weight. I havent gone to the gym any other day but Monday and I still show a 2 pound loss. I am going to wait until Monday to make it offical.. but I am pretty impressed that I can still lose weight and be sick! LOL!

Well I better run.. Hope all are well!

10-10-2003, 11:31 AM
Good Morning Lovelies!!! Well i go to hte Doc today for my physical... fun fun... but i will be able to get back on my birth control pills... I use Yasmin because it helps mood swings... lord knows i need that...LOL I do have some Good News... i am down 3 lbs!!! Now i can see the results all this exercising is doing... Its JUST what i needed.... Hope you ladies all have a fantastic day... Spryng... get yourself some lovely undies... nothing makes u feel more pretty than knowing you have on something pretty. Its even better when its underwear because noone else knows ... so u can have a secret smile that will have people wondering... why is she so happy?? lol At least thats my take on it... Take care of u today!! Karen hope u feel better soon!

Sandy:dance: :flow1:

10-10-2003, 02:09 PM
Gee, do I actually get a chance to sit down now?????
Gosh, this has really been one of those weeks and the weekend does not promise to be any better. My 2 Dd's and I are going college shopping this weekend- U of Hartford (going to see just because it is on the way to Gordon College~ which is where Dd and a bunch of her buddies( including Bf:( ) are looking. I am indulging her the look at Gordon- it is supposed to be a good school- otherwise I am sure we will see a horrific teenage tantrum. She is looking at other schools, so this weekend is just to get her feet wet. Got my walk in this am.....and just plain have a busy weekend/day ontap. Will life ever get slower?????

Jen- so sorry to hear about your health issues(more than just the hand?). Good for you staying OP despite the stress! Hang in there, and a big hug to you.

Spryng- gee that chicken recipe sounds good! Maybe I will make it tomorrow. And Enjoy the new undies!!!!! I hope you picked out some really pretty stuff.:)

Emily- well, I figure that PMS time is a time for us to take a breath- and time for us busy overextended moms to get a little time in for ourselves. Hope you are doing ok and can get a break. Hang in there.

Sandy- woo hoo!!!!!!!! 3# loss!! Great- I am so happy for you.

Karen - I love the thinner faced you and the new van. Hope the cosmic bowling (you brave woman) was fun.

Gotta go......the vacuum calls. Hope to get back here later or tomorrow before I am off searching for colleges. Have a great day!!!:D

10-10-2003, 02:10 PM
Sandy- how did the physical go????

10-10-2003, 03:53 PM
Good afternoon all!
Who knew buying a barbie would result in such a headache!! My dd couldn't make her mind up. So she finally settled on a cute barbie, a package of accessories and a package of clothes. She's having fun with them in her room right now.
DS found the remote control car he wanted right away! I was so proud, lol.
Yes I did buy me some really pretty panties and two nice bras. I still want to get a couple more bras and then I'm done with that kind of shopping for now. I also got me a new purse and wallet. So I feel good. :) Oh and I took the kids to burger king so they could play in their playland and I tried one of those new fire grilled baggettes!! YUM! It came in a "lite" meal, with a side salad and spring water. It was so great and only 6 pts!
Karen you are losing so well!! I can't wait to get the "official" WI on monday but obviously it's going to be fantastic. Sandy, congrats on your loss too!! Everyone is having such a great week!
My WI is tomorrow and I'm worried since I still feel bloated from TOM. But hopefully I see something good.
Well, guess I'll get off here and get something done. have a great day all!!

10-11-2003, 09:54 AM
Good morning all!
Well I wish I was giving great news but alas (sigh) ... I'm STILL at 159. I guess that is ok since I lost the 2 lbs I gained last week... but still. I was hoping to see 158 at least. It just makes me feel bad since everyone else seems to be losing so great right now... o-well. I'm sure I'll have a good week in the future. I know it's not because I'm doing anything wrong. I'm exercising, drinking my water and staying within my points. I really don't know why my body gets stuck so often. Maybe I'm at a set point and it's just going to take some time to break through this phase. Any advice?
Well I'm off here for now. TTYL!

10-11-2003, 10:06 AM
Oh Spryng, dont feel bad... and youre right... you are doing everything right... i get stuck all the time as well. Then i lose all at once...lol but as long as u r staying on program and exercising u know u r doing things right. It just gets very frustrating... i know... i feel the same way. Hang in there!!!

Sandy:dance: :flow1:

10-11-2003, 10:47 AM
Good morning!!!!!!:)

Spryng- good for you getting some nice new undies and a purse!!! Simply amazing how a few new things can really make you feel better and make your day. Sorry 'bout the Barbie experience. Guess we have all had that kind of thing~ we want so badly to do something nice for our kids and despite all good intentions it does not go quite as smoothly as we had anticipated.
As far as your WI goes........that is a function of WW and probably TOM. The weight does come off and it will!!! You'll see it at the scale next week. Are you journalling???? If you have been and kept your old journals, go back to a week that you were more successful at the scale and see if there are any huge differences between this past week and that. Maybe you can learn something from the previous week. Also- you are learning a new lifestyle here- one that allows you to eat all foods (not like the restrictive Atkins), and in doing so you are allowing the body to lose weight more naturally. The body sheds weight at its own pace- and at times there is little that can be done about that. Some of my best weight loss weeks were when I was not quite as careful as I could have been, but that was the week that my body was ready to shed weight. Go figure, but that is common. At last weeks meeting one woman, who was on a 3 week vacation came back and told me while waiting to WI how she was curious about her WI. She was good during the beginning of the vacation and then ate out a lot towards the end (but made pretty good food choices). The end result??????? She lost 3#! So hang in there- the weight will come off.

Sandy- how are you doing??????

Gotta go take Dd for pictures.......this weekend is insane, but I will be on later. See ya then. (got my walk in though)

Hello everyone!! Ginny... I am doing well... doc appmt went well. Even got a referal for a plastic surgeon so hopefully all will work out!! Heres the history...lol! I have very uneven breasts... and my back has bothered me for most of my adult life. I choose NOT to do anything about it til now because i wanted to breastfeed my children. Lately the pain has become unbearable at times... i wake up and it hurts to breathe... so.. i told my doc and she is setting up an appmt with a plastic surgeon for me. I will keep u posted on how its going... Other than that i had a terrific week! Lost some weight... did my exercising... drank my h2o... even went out today and bought myself some new white tshirts... and a pair of workout pants!! little things but youre right Ginny... its makes a world of difference!!Its such a beautiful day here i think we are going to go to an orchard and get some apples and just have fun outside! Eveyone have a FAB day and i will check back in later!! Take care of U!!

Good morning everyone!
I'm in a much better frame of mind today- though I need to find some motivation for my house!! Busy weeks don't help me keep on top of the cleaning!lol

I've been out garage saleing- I've just gotten into it this summer and have found quite a few "treasures"- who knew it could be so fun?? I know not everyone thinks so, but I've sure had fun :) I'm a little sad that the season is pretty much over until Spring-- guess I'll save a little bit of $$ anyway...

Spryng- please don't be hard on yourself or get too down (and start sabotaging like I've been doing!!) You *are* doing everything right...Ginny said it all- I found my biggest losses were on weeks I wasn't expecting it. Once you are in a groove your plateaus won't seem so upsetting because you know in a week or 2 you will have a good loss.

Sandy- good for you for buying some new stuff too! And :cp: for the loss and workouts- you're doing great.

Ginny, Jen, Karen and everyone else- hope you are having a great weekend! Take care!

Thanks you guys for your kind words... I know I was hard on myself... but you know what? I did lose 2# (the two I gained last week) so even though it got me back to the weight I was it's still a loss... and much better than a gain anyday! I'm feeling better about it. And that is a great idea ginny about looking in a my journal at the week I lost 3.5 #'s , I keep a very good journal so I might find something there that I haven't been doing as much. Thanks for that tip!! And I know that this weight will come off... in fact I changed my goal date to reach my goal to may 1st (that is one lb a week loss...) so according to that I am right on target. So I don't know why I was so upset. And I won't sabbotage my efforts... I know doing that will only put me further behind and I don't want anything to keep me from moving forward. This will be a way of life for me... I can't wait to be a lifetime member of WW so why the rush huh? It will come off. :)
Sandy i LOVE garage saling!! of course since Dh left I don't get to do it as much because it's hard with three little ones in the car. But I do it when I can! In fact my MIL went garage saling this morning and got my kids some cute puzzles (all the pieces were there!), a neat little picnic table for the backyard, a barbie night gown for my dd... and some odds and ends.. Great deals too. So I guess some people may look down on second hand stuff... but I agree with the phrase "one man's garbage is another man's treasure!" Did you get anything neat? So are you looking into a breast reduction? My aunt had one and she looks great! She had alot of back problems too (she was an F!!) It's funny you mentioned a PS because I have been looking into one too lately... but I'm small chested and after 3 kids my chest needs some help, lol. So I've been thinking about saving for a breast augmentation. My Dh is supportive either way.. so now I have to decide. I think that may be my reward for hitting my goal weight next year. I know alot of people don't like the idea, especially here in kansas where things are pretty traditional and old fashioned... but I don't plan on anyone knowing about it. Only my DH (and now you ladies of course) but I'm still debating it and researching it. I do hope your back gets some relief though.
Well MIL invited me over tonight to watch movies and visit so i think I will hop in the shower while the kids are napping and get ready. It'll be nice to visit someone this weekend. I usually stay home and do nothing.

Hello again!!
Emily... I LOVE garbage sales...lol thats what my sister calls them. But I love them... i have found all kinds of great stuff... i agree Spryng... one mans trash is another mans treasure. I got this great buffet from a friend... 35.00 i spent on it... went out and got some paint and redid it... painted a mirror that my brother gave me and wahLa! Looks like a matched set and anyones whos seen it loves it. LOl They want to know where i bought it... hahahaha i get such a kick outta telling them i made it... I have to say that that has been my passion lately... I have one more piece to do formy bedroom and then thats it ... will probably redo my kitchen table again... daughter "did" her nails on it so there was a few bald spots... i painted it over once but i'm not happy with it.... so i will sand it all down, prime it and repaint it. When is the question tho...LOL !!
Well, that really turned into a babble didnt it?? LOL!! I got some old silverwear from my gram when she passed away so i was thinking of making some windchimes out of them... that way all of us can have a piece of her in our homes. My dad bought me a new drill ... so i can do it now...LOL Ok enuf... see just get me started on decorating and painting and i am on a roll...lol
Have a great evening all...

No real treasures today...I got a pressure cooker for $2.00- the seal is warped, but I thought I could use the heavy pan for candy making. I read a great come-back for second-hand squeamishness...funny how people are selective in that...you don' think twice about eating in a restaurant or sleeping in a hotel where the silverware and sheets have been washed in hot water. So what's the difference between used clothing??- whatver, I say :) I love being frugal and to me it's just smart. And I am pretty selective in what I buy that way. It has to be hardly worn or a name-brand that has re-sale value-- I've even been thinking about garage saling and then re-selling on e- bay. Haven't tried yet since our digital camera hasn't been working.

Anyway, I have been working hard on my house today and just got back from grocery shopping with my kids (really not fun on the Saturday before Thanksgiving!)- just needed a couple things so it wasn't too bad. We are going to some friends for Canadian Thanksgiving on Monday (lucky me I get to have Thanksgiving dinner twice!) She is doing the turkey and another friend and I are splitting up the sides. I got pie duty- who knew I made the best pies <<blushing>>- oh well, at least the should get all eaten and I won't have to worry about eating pie all week. I'm ready to get focused again.

Spryng- what movie did you watch with your MIL? DH and I watched "Bend it Like Beckham" last night- pretty cute.

Well, back to work so I don't have to worry about messes tomorrow!
 later!

Hi !
I love garage saleing too.......just no time to do it!!!
BTW, Spryng guess what came in today's mail!!!!! Guess the PO is going pony express these days. Thanks it is here.
Sorry- no time to get personal. gotta get dinner on. See ya Tuedsay!

Ds left the computer on.....so I came on to check the weather in Mass. What am I going to do without all of you for 2 days!!!???
(ok, I am already halfway insane......guess that will finish me off!)

Emily- as far as the seal on the pressure cooker goes- if it is just the rubber gasket, most hardware stores (the old fashioned kind) carry new gaskets. Good for you cleaning up your house! Hope your Canadian thanksgiving is great.

Sandy- sounds like you are a project person like me!!!!! The wind chime idea is cute- I have seen those done on HGTV and they are attractive. Happy crafting!:) Glad that the Dr appt went well too. I have a friend who went for reduction surgery- she had actually experienced a loss of bone mass in her shoulders from the weight of her chest......so the reduction (which was subtle and looks natural) was a welcome change- and no more back pain!

Spryng- hope you get to watch some movies and have a nice time!! Adult conversation sounds nice.........hope the kids are good for you too!
Gotta go and finish cleaning the house. See ya Monday!!!!!
