Welcome to the Weighty Issues thread!

We are a group of women who are trying to get through every day life with the help of each other. No topics are off limits, we discuss everything. These girls Rock!!!!

This month we are all going to do a challenge also. We can go by pounds, inches, jean size, etc. Whatever makes you happy.

We hope you come join us!

It is a new month. Time for a new thread.

I had to take Corey to the emergency room last night for an ear infection. Luckily we got right in and out but I didnt get in my evening walk. They gave him some ear drops to numb his ear so it didnt ache all night, man, I would have killed for that when I was little. I had ear infections like crazy(my parents are chain smokers) and tonsilitis until they took my tonsils out when I was 15. Luckily, he loves the amoxycillyn so giving him his meds isnt a problem.

I had a run in last night with the smores and graham crackers with peanut butter and chocolate chips. It seems like I want to eat all night as soon as it gets dark. Plus, I want heavy meals too.

My goal this month is to try to stay where I am and not do fruther damage. I have been setting goals every month and not making any of them so I am just going to try my hand at not gaining this time. I only have my groove for a few days at a time it seems lately.

10-01-2003, 10:28 AM
To lose 9 pounds this month. I would say 10.. but feel that is pushing it. I already have my mini goal of being at 138.00 by 10/22 when my friend comes in. This will be just two more pounds more than that right now. So I can do this!!!!

Lets go everyone and make October COUNT!!!!!

10-01-2003, 10:30 AM
Cherie, You are doing great!!! I bet you make it to your goal for the month.

10-01-2003, 11:28 AM
I am right there with both of you with the eating thing. I think mine is a little stress related too. To top it off I am PMSing too. I hate to say but I actually have M&M's in the house right now and i have been eating some everynight since Monday. I know, bad girl but I can't help it.

I guess my goal will be to stay OP with the last 6 weeks of my program. I start it on the 6th and I am ready. I don't have to worry about DU while I am doing it so I should be able to stay OP.

I have to go to the mall today after work to find something to wear for the banquet. It seems that everytime I have a function what I want to wear doens't fit me anymore. I mean I love to shop but this is rediculous. We are able to set up the banquet area tonight so I will have to do that first but then I am off to shop!!!! I am kind of looking forward to buying some clothes. I really don't have anything for coller temps and it is heading that way. I usually live in sweats. Poor Joe.;)

10-01-2003, 11:48 AM
Kempy I hear ya on the M&M's. My mom knows I am trying to lose weight (she ways alot less than I do) and what does she do-she bought me this cute canister for my kitchen and whats inside?M&M's!!!! But I have not opened the bag yet. Watch out when I do. I am also in sweats alot lately. They just feel so good. And if when I do wear jeans my hubby likes it. Not to often though.
Did you see the recipe on the previous thread. Hope you like it,
it is great for fall and taste better the next day.

Thanks for all your support guys. Everyone of you are so wonderful. CHeck in later! Julie:)

10-01-2003, 12:16 PM
I got it alright. I can't wait to try it. I will have to cook it over the weekend though. I never have enough time during the week to cook anything good.

We are going to have to stop talking about M&M's b/c I might just have to run out and buy some for work. And that would be a no-no! :nono:

10-01-2003, 12:47 PM
Dont feel bad girls. The tacos sounded so good that I just got back from the store with the supplies to make that for supper tonight. OOPS! I have been craving melted cheese. Melted cheese on anything is so good.

Kempy, I'll bet you will be happy when the banquet is over with so you can stop planning, huh?

M&M's!!!YUM!!!! I love the peanut ones. I think it is the cold weather. I needed gloves for my walk this morning but of course I cant find them after last winter. So my hands wee froxen. I guess it is supposed to be cold for the rest of the week.

Sweats are my friend too!! The minute we get done with our afternoon walk I am in sweats and a t shirt that is about 3 times too big but oh so comfy. Then I throw my fat *** on the couch and cover up for the night. I really should try to move more in the evening but when it is dark at 6:30 it is so depressing.

I saw a cat in my yard today that I have never seen before. Hmmm, I wonder if he is stray? He was chasing a squirrel but he ran when I talked to him.

I got a red wine vinagrette club for lunch from Subway. That was really good. Well, I suppose I really should go do some baking.TTYL

10-01-2003, 04:52 PM
No fair, no fair, no fair! I wake up at 6:30 a.m. and it's already 80 degrees and you girls are talking about cold weather :stress: . I don't even use a blanket at night and I have the ceiling fan on...i would sleep in the nude if I wasn't afraid of scaring the pants of my hubby    ...hmmm, maybe that's not such a bad idea  . You know, I've been having a hard time getting back on track too. I had a really good spell of 3 weeks OP then when this weekend came around *BAM* , falling off and totally running in the opposite direction. This hot weather makes me lazy too--it's bright, sunny and hot! (try 89 degrees) til about 5:30 pm, if I leave for my walk later than that, it gets dark fast and I have to hope and pray we don't run into any weirdos in my neighborhood, especially without the dog with us. What I would give if Hawaii was just about 10 degrees cooler in every season. That would be paradise for me.

Angie, Subway red wine v-club is what I usually get there, especially with the roasted garlic bread :T ! I just might get one for lunch too since I filled up my card with stamps. A free sandwich sure tastes great. Hope Corey gets better quick. How is Brit doing? (or was it Alicia?)

Kempy you're a sly one :s: , hiding those m&m's... just say NO to getting those at work. You know, I'd say I was PMS'ing too but I actually missed my TOM last month :yikes: ! I don't "feel" anything like pregnant...but ya never know. If only I had something to blame giving into those cravings for :bb: ...

Cherie, congrats on your awesome progress for September. You go girl! I'm with you! Let's make October count!

Hello to red, Holly, Chris, Dips, JackieO, Emily, Sandy, Tonya, Julie, Summer.... gotta split for now.

10-01-2003, 05:23 PM
89 Degrees!!! Holy I dont think we got any higher than 60 today and absolutely no sun so it feels really cold. It is pretty nasty looking outside today, even the kitties are all hanging out inside. We had to run the furnace all night last night so we didnt get too cold. Can I just leave for Florida now?

Do you think you may be pregnant? You want another baby soon dont you? If so, I will keep my fingers crossed for ya and if you dont then I will still keep my fingers crossed for you.

It was Brit and she is better now despite the fact that she swallowed absolutely no medicine.

Kempy, Did you ever find out why you were sick?

10-01-2003, 05:42 PM
Angie the crazy doc really didn't know what is wrong with me. He thought it might be my stomach having to much acid but I seem to think it was just stress. I am stressed about DU and also about work. I have a massage scheduled for Saturday so maybe that will help get some of the stress out. I actually printed my last thing that I needed to print around 2 today and I feel 100% better.

My cats are starting to hang out on top of me more lately too. I can always tell when cooler weather is coming when they do that. I am always cold though so I welcome them. Now that we have Echo home I can pull her big butt onto the sofa. She is a much bigger heater than the cats do.

10-01-2003, 08:05 PM
Kempy did you find anything at the mall to wear for your banquet? I am sure you will look great and all your hard work will pay off and you will have wonderful time!

Noelle I wish I had some of your warm weather. It must be like living in paradise everyday!!!!

Angie hope your tacos turned out great. Mine were so good last night. I usally use the soft shells but last night I had the crunchy ones, they just taste so good after baked in the oven.

Tonight I made chicken parmesan. It was yummy.
I have a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble and I might order the South Beach Diet book. I don't know if I could not eat any carbs though for two week straight. I want to do more research. :)

10-01-2003, 08:52 PM
Hey everyone! I have done sooo BAD the last 2 weeks! Last week it was sweets, and this it has been peanutbutter. I can't seem to stop eating peanutbutter, lol. I did buy smucker's natural pb, so, not as bad, but, still! I have been exercising, so, hopefully my weight hasn't gotten out of control (don't dare step on the scales :( ). Being laid off is really a challenge for me!! The food is just too close, lol.

The wedding was great! A teacher from high school was there (she is also my best friend's cousin) and asked how I am. I told her I have 3 kids and she told me to get out, lol. She said you would never know it! That made me feel good, even though I have been eating so poorly! I decided to splurge and buy a pair of jeans last Friday bc my after baby jeans are too big, I like Arizona jeans from JC Penney, and ended up with a size 9 junior. I was and am still in shock. They must make jeans bigger these days bc the last time I stepped on the scale it said 146!

OK....for goals of this month, #1....Get back on track!!! #2....Do not reach 150, #3.....avoid the yummy candy at Halloween, #4....Make sure I don't outgrow my new jeans, lol.

We sound similar the last few weeks, on and off again with the diet. I am not going to make any huge weight loss goals for this month either bc I don't know how much damage I have already done. I am sure you will agree seeing we have the same metabolism....it's sooo hard to diet and be hungry to lose weight when it feels so much better to feel satisfied, not overfilled, but, not ravagingly hungry either.

Go for it! Glad to see you are OP and heading for that goal. I will get back there eventually, just in kind of a funk lately. I think it's stress related.

Enjoy your shopping trip! It kinda felt good when I spent money on myself for once, and not at Trader K's, lol. I don't have much faith in most docs. I think they are usually experimenting to see if medicine will help rather than find the source of the problem.

Ooooohhh, hehe, we might have a mama on board? Should we keep our fingers crossed for pg, or for not pg?

Mmmm, chicken parmesan does sound good. Lol, reminds me of a dinner I made for the family last week, but, it was vegetarian chicken, and my husband scoffed at it and went to Taco Bell, lol, men.

10-01-2003, 10:44 PM
Humph!!! I posted a bit and lost it...

Holly, glad you had fun at the wedding. It's cool that you got compliments how you did. And wow size 9 jrs? WooHoo! I don't think I could ever get my butt in a jrs. size ever again--too much junk in my trunk  . I hear ya on being at home w/the food nearby, that's really tough. Any good leads on the job search? I'm crossing my fingers for you.

OK, I guess you girls can put me in the 'cross your fingers and hope I'm PG' camp. I really don't feel like I am, but still no TOM so I'm taking the wait and see approach. I took a test last week, which was negative...I am feeling like I'm under a lot of stress so I'm willing to bet that's why I'm messed up like this. Anyway, think good thoughts Ok?

I know I've been complaining about how hot it is here, here's a picture I just took of my son and niece cooling off in the wading pool this afternoon. Feels like 96 degrees in the shade. Hope it comes out!

10-01-2003, 11:26 PM
I thought I would check in tonight... just got back from my ellipitcal workout. My foot is feeling much better today... so I am going to hit October hard! :-)

Noelle... it was brrrrr cold here today.. in the mid 40's... I hate cold weather.. so I am very envious of your wonderful warm days! And GOOD LUCK.. keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Holly.. WTG on the new jeans!!!!!! You can get back on track this month.. we are here to help you!!! I've got two little girls and hopefully I will avoid their hallloween candy at the end of the month. They both want to be Swan Lake Princess Barbie.... haha... gotta love this cute age.

Julie.... your dinner sounds yummy.... I had a sweet potato!! :-) Those seem to fill me up and I don't really want much of anything else. I try to eat my big meal at lunch so I will have all day to burn it off.

Kempy.. good luck tomorrow with your banquet! Hope you are feeling 100% You better post a picture of you in your new outfit for the event!!!

Angie.. We will help you stay on track too.... we can all have a great October! This place has really helped me out with my goals.. so I am hoping I can help someone else out too! How is Corey? Is he feeling better?

Ok.. I am about to turn into bed... you know what I forgot about tonight? The BACHELOR!! I didn't even tape it.. Instead.. I went and worked out... sigh.... guess someone will have to fill me in on what happened!

Everyone have a great night! See you tomorrow!

10-02-2003, 09:34 AM
Hey Everyone! Hope you all have a wonderful Thursday!!! Lets do something right today and make this a good day! Try to stay OP and try to get some exercise in!! It will make you feel so much better!! Just for TODAY! :-)

I am here at work.... I've done my pilates this morning.. very hard to do them when your 5 yr old wants to do them with you in a space that is barely big enough for one.... anyway.. today I've got to be good. Taking the girls to Chuck E Cheeses after work with one of my girl friends. I plan on having some pizza.. but I will eat a salad first so I won't go crazy when the pizza gets there.

Ok.. everyone check in... hope your Thursday goes well..

10-02-2003, 10:52 AM
Good Morning!! It is foggy and cold here today. I did a 3 mile walk with hubby and the dogs first thing this morning so that is out of the way. I came home and made french toast for Jay, I didnt eat any because I hate french toast.

Kempy, I know what you mean about the cats getting cuddly now. I had fat cow in my lap all night with Rebel on my feet(because he was jealous) And when Fat cow wasnt there then Meatball kept her spot warm.

Julie, The tacos were awesome. I was craving them when I saw the first weightloss show on Dr. Phil and then I had forgot about them. They were too good in fact. I love chicken parmesan too. I usually make my own spaghetti sauce so there isnt any fat in it.

Holly, We must be twins!!! I swear we have the same metabolism. It is the hardest thing to lose weight with a metabolism that runs so slow. I hate having to be hungry all the time to lose any weight. Let alone having to do at least 1 1/2 hours of exercise every day to get anywhere. It just gets old after a while. But hearing that you are in a size 9 junior has to help a little, huh? I need to suck it up and just do it too because if I get to Florida and I am any heavier than I am now I am going to be so mad.

Noelle, Well girl, if you arent preggo this month then I guess you and hubby have your work cut out for you this coming month. haha  Your son and neice are adorable!!! I love the green green grass. Everything here is turning now and pretty soon it will be empty trees. I do not like that at all. Everything looks dead afterwards.

Cherie, Corey is better. Thanks for asking. He went back to school today. Now I am waiting for the call that Alicia has it. I have a feeling this winter will be spent at the doctors alot. *grin*

Brit is so proud, her soccer team only lost 2 games this season so they are going to the finals to play. This is her first year on the team and she is so excited.

I had cereal for breakfast. I have the other half of my Subway for lunch and I am making shepards pie for supper so hopefully I can keep my hand out of the fridge this evening. Nighttime is really my only problem time and it is getting harder to get my walk in after supper so I just want to munch because the nights are so long. I have a pimple too and Jay got his big "monthly" headache so I bet I start my period right off too.

10-02-2003, 03:22 PM
Where is everyone today?

10-02-2003, 04:37 PM
Hey girls, just breezing by with a quick hello.

Angie, enlighten me, what's in shepards pie, I've never had one (little ole me out in the middle of the pacific ocean) :) .

Cherie, thanks for being our cheerleader. I need that kind of enthusiasm to motivate me.

Kempy, have fun at your banquet tonight. Will you be posting pics of yourself all dolled-up? You'd better ;) .

I had a totally OP day yesterday I'm doing a happy dance for me  . I'm busy busy busy here at work as well as drawing up a new lease extension for one of our sublessors. My brain hurts! Oh well, no time to dwell on food eh? Well, hello to all, gotta run for now but will be back to chat more later.

10-02-2003, 05:19 PM
Hey everyone!

Noelle it always helps me keep my mind off food when my brain and hands are busy. Did it cool off by you today? Great job staying OP yesterday.

Kempy I hope you have good time tonight. I have not gotten dressed up and gone out in awhile. Have fun Girl!

Angie I love shepards pie. Another one of those good fall meals. Good and comforting. Angie I know what you mean about the nighttime munching. There are so many good shows on at night now I just want to sit down with a big bowl of buttered popcorn.

Cherie hope you are having a good day at work. Enjoy your pizza tonight!

Hi Holly congrats on the jeans!

Well I think I will make pork for supper tonight, maybe mashed potatoes and a veggie to go along. Gotta go get that started. Bye girls :)

10-02-2003, 05:28 PM
Noelle, My shepards pie is a layer of mashed potatoe then a layer of hamburger(I put curry powder, garlic and onion salt in mine) then a layer of creamed corn, cheese and another layer of mashed potato on top then sprinkle more cheese on top. Not healthy but oh so good.

10-02-2003, 05:35 PM
:T :hun: mmmmm.... what time's dinner? If I go according to eastern standard time, dinner should be in about an hour or so, hehe. I looked up a recipe online and it called for leftover beef roast. Sounds so good! I think I'll try that on a Saturday when it's my turn to cook dinner.

10-03-2003, 12:07 AM
Well, I am about to go to bed, but wanted to pop in and say hi first!!! I took the girls to Chuck e Cheese and had way too much pizza.. three pieces.. :ink: But I did workout today, so I know it didn't do too much damage!

Angie.. that does sound good.. better than the shepard's pie I've made in the past... Mashed potatoes are my comfort food.

Julie.. your dinner sounds yummy too.... I am gaining weight just by reading all this!

Noelle.. GREAT JOB on staying OP!!! Its always hardest starting back up!!!!! So here is a :bravo: for you!

OK... time to get ready for bed.... See everyone tomorrow!!!

10-03-2003, 10:10 AM
Good Morning everyone!!! TGIF!!

Just wanted to check in... I'm here at work, and it will be a busy day. I have already done my pilates this morning, and I am LOVING it! Great way to start my day!

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday.. I will talk to you all soon!

Kempy.. how was the banquet last night????

10-03-2003, 04:59 PM
Hey where is everybody today? Hope everyone is having a nice Friday.

Kempy tells us about your big night when you get time to post!:)

10-03-2003, 05:10 PM
Hey all...I'm here still drowning in paperwork. Can't wait til the weekend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (can you tell?) I'm taking the plunge and signing up for WW tomorrow--I felt I really needed to do something since I've been in a stall for months and have been slowly gaining. I received a $20 off postcard so I'm signing up for 10 weeks initially for $79. I know it's only 10 weeks but I want to see how it works for me. I can't afford to get any bigger! Can't knock it til you try it eh?

Anyways, hope everyone has a great weekend. Wish me luck.

10-03-2003, 05:26 PM
Good Luck Noelle. I need to do something as well. I dont think I have the same weightloss effect with walking as I do my elliptical but....I HATE exercising inside!!! Starting on Sunday I am going to try something a little different for a routine and see if I can get the scales going in the right direction myself. I know we can do this because we have dont it before but I cant understand why we fall off and cant get back into it again. Anybody have any suggestions?

10-03-2003, 05:38 PM
Found you guys. Doing well, after a long day. Chaning my workouts a little. Looking for something different. Might start walk away the pounds, since there's nip in the air nowadays. Also, Tai Bow has it's draw for me.

I need a change of pace, or i'll stop. Eating right though is the key, So if I miss a workout, i'll still be in the game.

Friends around here, my workout buddies, are losing weight, that's a huge gift for me, cause it's hard to get started in the weight loss thing, but once you start, you have that motivation to continue to lose. It's like the first few pounds are killer, then after that, you tend to stick with it, cause now you've got results to show for it. They're losing and feeilng good. Keeping ME in line, thank goodness.

Tired a lot, PMSy, and hoping to stick with it all winter, so next summer i'm georgous and even more toned, instead of trying to catch up,a nd get back into it.

Sorry i'm so sporadic with my visits. I tend to journal, and then run.

Glad you guys are sticking together. Couldn't reach my goal wiht out you all!

Ciao Bellas!

10-03-2003, 05:46 PM
Hello people. I'm here but just have been too busy to keep up with all these threads and this one is just sooo busy!! Still, just wanted to say I do read you sometimes and WISH I could be in there writing to you all.

Just reading the posts takes up the time I have. I hear talk of some luscious-sounding shepherd's pie! That sounded good except that I'm a vegetarian. I was thinking of some ways to make it with beans and so. Tell me, Angie, do you then put it in a crust and bake it like a pot pie?

And Noelle, maybe expecting? Hope things turn out the way you want them too! :)

Kempyd, I hope you're feeling better there. Stress. We're just NOT made to be doing all these things in this hectic world, are we? This is why I never have any money. I just know I'll get sick if I do everything I need to pull in the dough (at least in my present position.)

Well, I should be flying off on Wednesday for the Apple and plan to still check in here for some inspiration. It may be easier to feel a part of things because the posts should be coming in when I'm awake. As it is now, they all pile up while I'm asleep and all the TGIFs and so are lost on me because I'm into Saturday by the time I see them.

I've been continuing with the gym, actually doing too much almost. But a few days out bingeing on sugar last week and them two days of partying and lots of beer erased all my efforts from the previous week I think. Now, I've almost gotten those results back. It's unreal the damage you can do in a week. Though it doesn't seem to work the other way!

Well, gotta run. Just wanted to say HEH!

10-03-2003, 06:23 PM
The weekend is here!!!!

Red great job going to the gym.

Chris it is great you have friends to support you in your goal for fitness. All the encouragement helps! I hear ya on the goals for next summer. I was not where I wanted to be this year thats for sure, but I have got several months to work on it.

Noelle good luck with WW. I have heard alot of good things about that program. Everyone says its a way of life not a diet. I have to try something new because I am stuck at the weight I am at and it is not moving.

Angie I want to cut down on my carbs not cut them out just eat less. Its seems my body just cannot handle them. I might invest in some low carb bread for sandwiches. It is a little more expensive but worth a try. Because I just cannot live without peanut butter sandwiches. But peanut butter is a good fat so I am not going to stress about that.
I think I fall off the wagon because I will see some loss get excited and work my butt off and not see any results then. It is just so frusterating for me! But you are right we all can do this! :) I just wish it was as easy as putting on weight. Smiles and Good thoughts for everyone! Julie

10-04-2003, 12:26 AM
And I'm going to BED!!!! I am tired. I just did my second round of cardio, and boy.. I came so close to blowing it off... but I had set a goal for myself this week and knew I couldn't do that.... so now.... it's done and I am even more tired... :-)

Julie... hey girl.... I need to find some low carb bread..... I haven't had any bread except for what is on pizza for over a month now... and you have me craving a pb&j now! ;)

Red balloon... great job with the gym work! Hope you have a wonderful visit to the states!!! Be careful!

Chris... nice to see you again!!!! Keep coming back, you are truly a motivation around here! It's nice to see someone who had made it through the hard work and got results!!! Now I will just need to learn from you how to maintain!

Angie.. I hate indoor work too, but that is all I can do at the moment... and I have found listening to my alternative rock music keeps my legs going on the treadmill and the elliptical machine, and having something interesting to watch on TV. It's not so bad.. but I do miss my outdoor runs I used to do.

Noelle Hope you get some rest this weekend.. Good luck with WW. My sister loved it.

Ok beautiful ladies... I need to go to bed.... talk to you all soon!

10-04-2003, 08:34 AM
Good morning! I should clarify an earlier post, I was 146 on my mom's scales last weekend, which means that mine was higher. Her's is always 2 or 3 pounds lower than mine. I was going to trade with her, but, mine is newer, lol. Anyway, I weighed myself at home last Tuesday, and it said 148. This morning I weighed in at 146. I have NO IDEA how I lost those 2 pounds, I have been eating sooo poorly all week, peanutbutter, hershey kisses, cookies. Is it a bad idea to drink coffee before exercising? I have switched from diet coke to coffee because I think the aspartame in the soda is affecting my health.

I can't seem to get back on track either. I keep trying to tell myself that when I eat the way I have been and exercise, I am wasting my time, or, just exercising to not GAIN weight :(.

Good luck with the WW, $20 off sounds like a great deal! Have you found out if you are pregnant yet? Keep us posted!

Good job on the weight loss. I LOVE pizza as well, and wouldn't have been able to resist either. When we took our son to Chuck E Cheese, the slices were thin, so, really 3 slices didn't amount to much.

Hello to Julie, Kempy, Chris, redballoon...everyone else! Have a great day!!

10-04-2003, 02:41 PM
Ciao Ladies,

It feels so good to be able to pop in and see how your doing. I turn away for a few days and i come back to stories of triumph, misbehaving and possible pregnancy :o OH MY!! Noelle, Young lady, I will deal with you in a hot minute but first:

I have so many mixed emotions as i prepare to fly out of Italy and leave the Army life behind. There was a memorial service for another soldier from our base killed in Iraq. He was a very uoung soldier, 19 I think and it's at times like this where i feel a sense of guilt for walking away while by brothers are still dying.

On the other hand I look forward to returning to the 8 brothers and sisters I left behind 4 years ago. I look forward to moving in with my fiance and finally ending this long *** long distance relationship which just hit the 5 year mark in September. I look forward to purchasing the Yorkshire terrier that I've always wanted. A male teacup sized yorkie. I'm just ready to return the the "normal" life and I'm too excited for words.

I just got an email from a friend of mine who left the army a year ago who's advice to me was to "keep exercising...don't become a fat-*** vet like me" It made me realize that excersise is an everyday part of military life and it's so easy to just stop but that I have to recommit myself to a life of fitness.

Anyways I don't want to drag on about this so lets just get to the pm's shall we:

Angie- A new month already and I'm going through changes not only in weight but in lifestyle. it's crazy but I thank you for keeping this thread up. It's good to know that when everything around me is changing that you and this thread are s fixture. Now if only we can do something about your slow metabolism and my plateau (still at 140 can you %&# belive it??!!)

Noelle, Noelle, Noelle- Now a new baby wouldn't exactly be best for the whole weight loss thing now would it? Seriously though I'm so excited for you (I know we don't know for sure yet but still, this is pretty juicy stuff) Your boy is adorable, by the way. I peeped him in the pic. The weather in the bug boot is pretty warm too. Not as warm as you ofcourse, about in the 70's. I can honestly say I don't miss NY for the weather. Anyways, mommy or not a mommy? keep us updated!!

Cherie- Way to go on the weight loss and bad bad girl on the food choices. Remember your man is coming ;) gotta look good. Though a size 9 is pretty cool if I do say so myself. I used to work at Chuck E Cheese and I was downing so much of that good pizza that At first I was too big to get into the army and had to loose 15 pounds! I have to stay away from that place when I get home.

Red- Hey Girl!! You seem to be doing well with a little slip here and there but you are consitantly going to the gym so good for you!!

kempy- What's good, heard you were a little sick, hope you're better these days.

Holly- What's going on with the sweets?? We gotta get it together, babe. NO coffee is bad before any workout!
Oh my we need some dedication this week. You can do it hon!By the way, don't sweat the scales. I say mom's ia always right!

Julie- How ya been girl? Miss chattering with ya!

To all I missed Hope you weekend is going well. 12 days until "operation homecoming" It's really happening! :D

Hi everyone! Just a quick hello......

Dips you should be so proud of yourself for devoting the time you have to America. Each and everyone of you and your fellow soliders are heros. You are all so brave to leave your family and lifestyle behind to serve. I don't know if I could do it. Just think about how well you served your country and how good it will feel to have your loved ones in your arms. Much respect to you!!!! Julie

Hey ladies! It's almost my bedtime this Saturday night and I've had a pretty good day. I bit the bullet and signed up for 10 weeks at WW. I was a bit nervous about going but I've heard mostly great things about the program and from other ladies on these boards who have done it, they've gotten great results too. So my first day is over and done with and I feel like I did good. I'm allotted 24 points per day and after the day was done, I still had 1 pt. left! That was with a serving of ice cream at the end of the day too. I've got the motivation again, this time for sure since I'll have to face someone live and in person for a weigh-in once a week--that's sure to keep me on track. I also got into my son's toybox and all his other toys laying around the house and got them sorted into "keep" and "give away" boxes. It took me most of the afternoon to do and I'm glad I got through it. I have a huge box of clothes he's outgrown from about when he was a year old and up... pulling out those clothes and seeing how tiny he was...it's unbelievable how quickly time flies! And nope, I'm pretty sure I'm not pregnant. Took another test this morning which turned up negative--so I just jumped in the car and headed to WW. No worries about traveling or losing weight now. OK enough about moi!

Dips, no guilt! You served, you sacrificed--time and distance away from your family. You deserve to get out (literally) and have a normal civilian life. You come from a family of 8 brothers and sisters? Wow, that's awesome. I only have 6 sisters, no brothers and there were quite a few catty moments while I was growing up. So now that you're reuniting with your fiance, will wedding bells be ringing in the not so distant future? *sigh*

Red, hope you have a great and safe trip to the states.

Hey Holly . Who cares how the lbs go away--as long as they leave right? Consider it a bonus that you got to eat all those chocolate goodies :T . Nah, just kidding. If you've been exercising despite eating those things, your metabolism is just kicking into gear. But, to be safe, drop the chocolates now! :drill:

Cherie you are doing great girl keeping those goals :bravo: . Hope you get some rest this weekend too.

Chris, doesn't it make you feel good to be such an inspiration to others? Be proud girl, you've come a long way and you show them how it's done :) .

Angie how's your weekend going? Any other road trips? Enjoy the cool weather for me :D .

Kempy, that banquet must've been something! Haven't heard from you since Thursday...at home recuperating? :faint:

Hey Julie, how's your weekend turning out so far? What's on the menu for dinner tomorrow? I enjoy hearing what the rest of you are having, that way if I'm stumped, I can just follow the rest of y'all. :T

 Hello and good night to everyone else...see ya ladies tomorrow!

10-05-2003, 06:13 AM
Hello everyone and thanks for all the bon voyage wishes and congrats on my superb ;) gym work. As for the trip, I was talking to my father in Pgh. this morning on my land line when the mobile rang with a call from NY so I'm feeling much more connected to "the other side" now. I'm really starting to look forward to the old U.S. of A. Tokyo gets so boring as basically everyone looks more or less alike. But I've also always loved New York. I feel the freedom of Tokyo (lots of walking, public transpo) with a totally different, much more wacky, energized feel. And it's so much more cosmopolitan. I definitely feel the closeness to Europe in NY. And then, old Pgh. I love going back there, so relaxing, so sane, yet not boring really, lots of really friendly people. Ok, I'm waxing nostalgic here if you haven't noticed. . . . :^:

Heh, tell me all you fashion mavens, just how weird/out of it/rude will people think you are if you don't get dressed up for a wedding? It's not me (though I'll be definitely on the toned-down side) but for the young kid who's putting me up in NYC and whom I invited to the wedding. Now, my friend I think is going to have a pretty ritzy shindig but it's still black tie optional. My friend in NY (a young Japanese guy) is a down-and-out student/artist type and was actually calling because he says he has nothing to wear and wanted to bail out. I told him no way, go! and don't worry about people looking askance at you. As soon as they've had a few drinks they'll get over it! I told him that, besides, anyone who cares so much about clothes wouldn't be any friend of mine so if that's the case it's better to find out sooner than later. But I was wondering, what is the whole idea about going formal and is it super rude not to be dressed up? I can't imagine it is but wanted to hear your opinions on it. Maybe I can buy this fellow a pair of pants at least.

Oh, jbbm, I hear you totally with your falling off the wagon woes. I do a similar thing but I think I work hard, see results, then ease off and am devastated by how easy it seems to see the results disappear! Maybe I forget just how much effort I did put into it, maybe a lot of it is exhaustion making me look worn out (and thinner) but yes, I'm very bad about being consistent. I'm a stop and go hare type (not the tortoise) and this is my downfall when it comes to winning this fat game. But I'm doing SO much better than I did when I was younger so I'm just going to keep at it. So, chin up and push on. Remember, we're just made special-like!

Photogirl, you are really amazing. I know how much work you've been doing with your exercise and all. :strong: I sure hope you see the results soon but I think you already know you're way far out in front in this race! Keep it going! :dancer:

chikitababe, lucky you, huh? pounds slipping away despite the sweets. But, yes, be careful, you don't start OVERindulging.:nono: Before exercise is probably the ONLY time coffee is a good idea (sorry Dips!) It does give you a physical boost and they say that the caffeine actually helps get the fat ready to be metabolized more easily if you kick in the exercise, so, sure go for it! But if you were drinking diet coke then you probably won't notice a difference because coke has a lot of caffeine in it too. Just be careful to drink lots of water. Don't overdue the coffee because it is a diuretic. Just a cup or so for the caffeine kick. Yeah, aspartame is bad stuff. It really bothers me that it's allowed on the market. The FDA it seems is selling the health of the nation out to big business! I mean, aspartame is KNOWN to have bad effects on brain chemistry among other things. I believe fighter pilots are banned from drinking anything with it in it. Heh, I may not be a fighter pilot but it's definitely a battleground out there!!!

Speaking of battlegrounds, Dips, I really understand the complicated mix of feelings you're having. Being in the military really changes your perspective on things. When it's truly a matter of life and death I guess it's easy to think civilian life is somehow something "less." But life and death situations are not just out on the battlefield and there is injustice and wrongs to be righted everywhere in the world. And please, don't feel you need to be in the military any longer because others are. You've done your time there. Surely, there is no one you would call a friend who would want to see you risking your life any longer just because they are. No doubt a lot of what you're feeling is just plain old sadness at saying goodbye. It's so hard when you're leaving and moving a whole ocean away. I know! But I always tried to keep one eye toward where I was heading while I was still where I was and then, when I set down in a new place, it's eyes front and forward, march! There's so much waiting for you. :sunny: And remember, there are many, many ways to serve your country, your people, and many ways to save lives and better lives, not just abroad but at home too. Ok, I'm getting off my soapbox now. . . . :soap:

Noelle, good for you for biting the bullet. :drill: Now, that's an expression I don't like too much but yeah. . .OK, if it's gotta be done. . . I don't know about the modernday WW but when I was a teenager I was with them for awhile and liked it. I think it's gotten much more commercialized and all with the whole line of food products and such but if you find a good group it can be fun. You can get a good group or a boring one though so I'd look around if you're not happy with where you are. But that's getting ahead of things. This point system is something new (well, for me) and it sounds like they've really expanded the program. It works for lots of people. I'm sure it'll work for you. Yes, "live and in person" is a scary concept these days, isn't it? That should help keep you in line! :goodvibes

Hi everybody. We want to go to Camden(by the ocean) camping next weekend so me and Jay took a ride down yesterday. It is so much nicer there than Bar Harbor!! I cant belive I was born in Maine and have never been there. We will probably take the kids down this coming weekend for the last overnighter before we have to have the RV winterized before December. The dogs LOVED walking around the shoreline!!Rebel even got me to trip on a rock and he wasnt going to stop for me to get up either!! Food was bad but I am back to the grindstone today. (I get so sick of saying that EVERY week!!!!) Lets hope this time I can find my groove again. I really miss the feeling of eating right and not having my face and belly swollen. I actually made Jay eat the rest of the chocolate cheesecake for his breakfast this morning so I cant.

Dips, I agree with everyone else. You did your duty and now it is time for you to enjoy your life with your family. We are all greatful for all that you guys have done for us. I cant wait to see pics of your new Yorkie either. I looked up yorkies on Petfinder and found some cutiepies. I saw one at the campground we were at in New Hampshire last time too. She was so cute!!

Holly, Way to go girl!! 2 pounds gone is 2 pounds gone!!! You are doing great now if we could just eat healthy all the time we would have it made.

Cherie, You are working your butt off literally. I am going to use you as my role model this week and when I want to eat junk I will try to think of how well you are doing and maybe keep my motivation up.

Noelle, No baby? That is too bad. Maybe soon though. I am so proud of you for joining weight watchers, let me know how it works out, okay? Are the points easy to figure out?

Red, Have fun in the states. I dont think anyone should mind if your friend doesnt dress up. At least they shouldnt anyways.

10-05-2003, 10:58 AM
Good Morning Everyone..... It's Sunday.. one more day of relaxing before going back to work. This week will be another busy one for me, two payrolls have to be ran. Oh well... I have a job, so I can't complain!

I have managed to put in some good time exercising this weekend. I now have two different pilates tapes that I have been doing. They make me feel so good and stretched out afterwards.... I am hoping to get that long lean sexy look from them.. once I can burn this fat off the top of my muscles! I also went last night after the girls were in bed and did the ellpitical machine for 45 minutes. I plan on doing the same routine today.

Angie.. you will get back on track. I guess I have some pretty major motivational factors working on my side. Something that I feel the need to prove to myself, and to someone else. I have recently took the motto that SUCCESS is the BEST REVENGE. Now Revenge isn't exactly the right word I am looking for here... but it works. So I am in "the Zone" right now, and I will continue to stay here. I have a lot of weight that I want to lose, but I am concentrating on it in 10 pound increments. And by certain dates. It keeps me accountable for doing my exercise, and eating right. The food will be there later, for when I am maintaining and exercising, but for now, I want to see the results of my hard work, so that is keeping me going. I make sure I take time for me to exercise, I have it a little easier than you... I only have my two little girls to take care of, and since they are not involved in any outside activities... they are basically on my schedule, and I don't have a husband to worry about either. You can do it... you just need to figure out and find what motivates you... and then work out a structured program so you KNOW you can always fit everything in....95% of the time! :-)

Where you are going sounds so pretty. I wish there were places like that around here.. but there isn't. Plain Ole Ugly Oklahoma.. land of the red clay. ewww..

Red... You know, as long as your friend is neat and clean... why would anyone notice? They are going to the wedding to see the bride and groom... most of the time, people don't really notice others. Just go and enjoy yourselves and have a great time.

Noelle.. WTG on joining WW!!! I have heard great things about them. Good Luck with it, and keep us posted on your success! Sorry about the not being pregnant... but it will happen if you want it too... once you get the weight off and are exercising regularly, you will probably get pregnant without even trying! :-) (That's how I got my little Megan!!! hahahaha)

Hi Julie, hope your weekend is going great!

Dips.... You have done a fantastic job for our country, and we are all so greatful for you! Now it's time for you to enjoy your life, (not that you haven't so far!) but to enjoy your civilian life, be close to friends and family, and continue your relationship with your boyfriend. You have lots to look foward too!!! We are all excited for your new changes in your life!

Holly!!! Great job with the scale!!! Who knows what is going on with you and your scale, but keep the motivation up and hopefully it will continue to be good to you!!!!!!

Ok everyone.... I promised I would let Hannah on the computer and play.... talk to you all later!

10-05-2003, 01:57 PM
Hello everyone

Cherie its sounds like you are doing great. You really are showing us that you are totally committed!

Angie I love cheesecake! I could eat it as a meal. I tend to give my hubby extra servings so I won't eat them.;) He does not seem to mind most of the time.

Noelle isn't it something how fast kids grow. I bet you are going to do great on weight watchers. Your trip is coming up soon isn't it?

Red have fun in the states. I was to New York once and it is just so big and has great culture!

Hi Kempy!

Yesterday I made some roasted pumpkin seeds! Yummy!!!!
As for me last night I made a fairly healthy meal. I made chicken fajitas with green and red peppers onions and fresh mushrooms, and cheese and sourcream and homemade salsa. I did have two large flour tortillas but it was great. Today I am going to make BLT's for lunch. Just want to relax and watch some football today. Try not to eat to many snacks though :o . Check in later Guys.

10-05-2003, 08:14 PM
Hey everyone little confession, I just made a pan of brownies and a pan of chocolate chip cookie bars. Going to have a small one of each and send the rest to work with hubby. Starting fresh and new tomorrow. Anyway today I went to the craft store and made the cutest fall wreath. It was alot of fun. Just something to do by myself. Kinda like a little therapy.:) Hope you are all having a great Sunday.

10-05-2003, 11:46 PM
Cherie I have a quick question for you...I was wondering what do you eat for breakfast and lunch. You seem to be doing so well with your weight loss. I hope you don't mind me asking I was just wondering.:) Thanks a bunch. Julie

10-06-2003, 12:07 AM
Well.. I just got finished doing my elliptcal workout... and i am tired. Hope everyone had a great weekend!

Julie.... good for you for sending those brownies away!!! Chocolate and sweets are my downfall, so I try not to keep them in the house. Instead for my girls I keep apples and pudding and applesauce and yougart... things that I wouldn't normally binge on.

As for breakfast and lunch.. well, I am on phase 2 of the SouthBeach diet.. so I take a bowl of cereal, Total and about 3/4 cup of skim milk for breakfast. For mid morning snack, I have two of the veggie quiche cups that are in the book, and for lunch, last week, I was having a small bowl of chili with some lowfat cheese. Or I will bake me a sweet potato with a teaspoon of light butter. I drink a TON of water throughout the day and that keeps most of the hunger pangs away, and for an afternoon snack, normally some cheese as well. At night, I try to eat dinner no later than 6 or 6:30 pm and I continue to drink my water in the evening. I know it's not a lot of food.. but amazingly I am not hungry. The food is really filling and I am not getting hungry throughout the day. Once I get closer to my goal weight, I will start to phase in more food, and phase out some of the exercise. Right now, I am really putting an effort in my exercising as well. I have a goal of New Years Eve to be where I want to be. My goals for the new year won't be focused on losing weight, but rather maintaining my new lifestyle.

Ok... time to go to bed. Talk to you all tomorrow!

10-06-2003, 12:23 AM
Thanks so much for the information Cherie. I might purchase the South Beach Diet book. Well I thought I would check in before bed. I am so tired...Talk to you guys tomorrow.

10-06-2003, 08:37 AM
Ciao Ladies,

I am worn out!! Out Proccessing is a pain in the neck. But in just 10 short days it will be all over. I can't thank you guys enough for your words of encouragement. They mean a lot to me. My friends over here are wishing me well also. These guys are really amazing. They are supportive and selfless no matter what. I don't think I'll find that anywhere else (you said it, Red)

Noelle- Wow! You took the big leap. WW is going to be your success engine, I can feel it :) I look forward to hearing about your progress.

Angie- You Will find your groove. I agree that it's all about self motivation. And you have it, girl. Don't give up.

Red- You always make me feel so much better after reading your posts. Have a blast at the wedding and enjoy the break from asia. You definately deserve it. And I agree that as long as your friend is neat, he'll be just fine.

Cherie- You are in a ZONE!! Good for you. It is good to see some consistancy! I anticipate some great results at the end of the month.

Juile- You certainly have the drive you just seem to need a method of operation. i think once you find it, you're well on your way.

I had the best time at my aerobics class this morning. I'm still hanging at the 140 mark but I'm glad to be maintaining instead of losing. i'll post some pics as soon as I can. My personal computer is on a boat somewhere in the Atlantic. So i can only type at work. I have a ton of stuff to do this week. TTYL

10-06-2003, 08:43 AM
Good morning.....it's Monday! I am off to a fresh start, and am going to put the last 3 weeks behind me! I have walked 3 miles so far, and drank 16 oz of water (along with my coffee :) ). I have to start small, so, my first goal is going to be to NOT eat any sweets or junk until at least Thursday, and we'll see if I can make it longer. My exercise has been on track, so that should be ok.

I would have to agree with the advice you were given from a vet. My husband (6'2), was 190 when he left the Army (due to a bad knee injury), and in 5 years has gained 50 pounds! WOW, you have 8 brothers and sisters!? How old are they, where do you fit in the mix (age wise)? I wanted 4 kids, but, hubby had a vasectomy after our 2nd together (3rd child total).

Good luck with WW! Sorry to hear you are not pg. I know what you mean about pulling out old kids clothes!! I pulled out my daughter's snow suit from 1 1/2 years ago (she was 6 months then), and it is sooo tiny. Kinda makes me sad, they grow up so fast!

I am trying Splenda in my morning coffee instead of sugar, but, will not go back to the aspartame. This is going to sound odd, but, the aspartame makes my lower lip and tip of tongue numb, and causes my speech to be off. I know it's from the aspartame, because after not having anything that contains it after 3 days or so, the numbness goes away! So far as the dress code for the wedding, my husband and I recently attended a Italian Catholic wedding, and he did not have a suit either, so I told him to wear his cacky's and a white dress shirt. He owns one tie, so, that's what he wore! Every other man attending had a suit jacket and pants, but, nobody said anything to us, or looked at us with prejudice.

Brrrr! Isn't it chilly to go camping now? I am a 75-80 degree woman, so, 55 is chilly willy to me, lol. I know what you mean about back to the grind, I have been sooo bad with food as well, and am also getting tired of saying "this week." So, today, I mean it, I have to do this! We can do it together! I often feel it would be easier if I had a workout buddy that I could meet on a daily/every other day basis to keep motivation. Unfortunately, most of my personal friends either don't eat, don't diet, don't exercise, or just don't care.

Way to go on the exercise! You are doing great! I wouldn't do well on a diet plan per say because I know when I went back to eating "normal" again, I would gain it all back. So, my challenge is to find a balance I can live with, and stick with for good. I am trying to find a way to be at my ideal weight without starving myself, or exercising like a mad woman  .

Don't feel bad about the brownies and cookie bars. I made this delicious snicker bar pie Saturday that had to refrigerate over night, so, yesterday was the day to eat it......it was soooo yummy! Now, I need a good kick in the rear to get going again.

Hi! Where did you go?

Hello to everyone.....here's to a great Monday!!

10-06-2003, 09:50 AM
Holly, We just bought a 1994 34 foot Bounder motorhome for camping. It has 2 furnaces, 2 AC's, 2 tvs,DVD player, micro, stove, fridge, queen bedroom and a full bathroom in it so it isnt like camping out in the cold on the ground(I would never do that again. ) We did that for a week once right after graduation and we both said never again. haha.

Yesterday was great for me. I got in both walks and I added up my calories last night and it was at 800 for the day so I had a cupcake from the fridge guilt free. I figured I had better get in my calories one way or another. I have a cute black top hanging up by my fridge to remind me that I would like to wear it to Florida so I can look at it and decide if my snacks are worth it.

It definately is starting to get cold outside now. I have to remember to grab some gloves the next time I go shopping.

Lets all have an awesome day today. I hope we can all get in the groove together. I love it when we can do that.

10-06-2003, 10:55 AM
Good Morning Everyone! Working on my payroll to get out this morning.

I am ready to have a great week. This will be my TOM week, so going to just concentrate on getting through it.

Angie what a great way to start your week!! I have a couple of pieces of clothing hanging up to remind me! :-) It helps!!!

Holly sounds like you have made a great start to the week too! Don't worry about the last three weeks, and just focus on today! You can do it!

Dips it's getting so close!!!!! I bet you are so excited!!! Can't wait to "see" you on the states side! Good luck with the transition and the next 10 days!

Ok everyone.. I need to get back to work.. Just wanted to pop in and say hi!

Have a great Monday!

10-06-2003, 11:54 AM
Hey Guys! I am so sorry I wasn't here sooner. I was taking time off from work to relax.

The banquet was ok. Not as good as Joe and i would have wanted but I think we did so much for it we wanted the place to be packed. I think we ended up making about $8,000 for the organization. That is better than nothing. I didn't get a chance to snap some pics b/c we were running so late Joe would have killed me if I told him to stop and take a few. I iwll be wearing the outfit again though so I will make him take one then.

Dips no need for me to repeat what everyone else has said. You have done the country a service and now it is time for you to get on with your life. We are all thankful for what you have done.

Angie you guys are really getting around in the RV now aren't you. I really would love to have one. I like to see places that you normally can't see when you are flying somewhere.

I am like all of you. I am tired of saying that I iwll start tomorrow and I end up blowing it all over again. I am starting fresh today though. I am feeling a little bit better so I will try to workout this afternoon.

Jackie I didn't see you in any of the past posts. Are you doing alright?

I will chat more later. I do have lots to do at work since I was out 3 days last week.

10-06-2003, 12:09 PM
Hi Guys! I am back. I was able to catch up on some of the posts, and it seems that everyone is well.
Dips, I am so glad you are finally coming home girl..Don't question it, it's just your time to come home. You have put in a tremendous amount of work, and like Kempy, we are all thankful for it.
Noelle- I hope you are well and things are going well for you in your family life. Do we have any definite news about pregnancy yet?
Cherie- How is the south beach phase 2 going? Are you still progressing fairly steadily?

Things have been kind of boring for me lately. I do find myself getting somewhat depressed over my lack of progress in recent weeks. It seems no matter how perfect my diet is, or how strenuous my exercise, the scale just refuses to budge. I know that is not the only predictor of success, but it really frustrates me. I tend to fall into this poor me thinking, which is not a good place to be. I am working on this though, and maybe need to stop by here more often for support. Also, believe it or not, the new Dr Phil book is very helpful to me at this point in my weight loss. He says things I need to hear, even if I don't want to. Anyway, hope all is well with everyone. I will check in later-

kempy- glad the banquet is over for you. It sounds like it was really a success.

10-06-2003, 12:58 PM
Goodmorning Everyone

Jackie I hear you on the depressing part of the progress. I lost twelve pounds from the beginning of june to september. But I am totally stuck now. I am just going to find some new things to try to get my body going again. We have to just keep trying and we will see some progress:) .

Kempy I am glad your banquet went alright. Hope your day is not to hectic at work today.

Holly great job on getting the water and walk in!:)

Angie I love the idea of the shirt by the fridge. I have a picture of me hanging when I weighed about twenty pounds less. I think I need to photo copy it and put it in all the cupboards!

Cherie have a great day at work. Good luck with the approaching TOM.

I found some low carb bread, so I am excited to give it a try. Its only 35 calories a slice and 5 grams of fiber in two slices.
Check in later! Julie

10-06-2003, 02:51 PM

Lol, that's my way of camping! I can't do the no electric, no heat, etc. either. Good job on the great Sunday, but WHOA, be careful on those low calories! I know you are like me, and have to keep them low, but you could feel weak on only 800.

Hi! How is your day going?

I am sure you will make it through your TOM week, you are doing so well.

What is the name brand of the low carb bread?

I have done well so far today :crossed:. I have walked 6 miles and drank 64 ounces of water. I usually only drink 1 or 2 glasses a day, so I feel like my eyeballs are floating!

Hello to Jackie, Chris, Noelle, redballoon, everyone else.

10-06-2003, 03:04 PM
Holly its called Healthy Life. It tried and it was good, kinda of smaller pieces than I am use to but I had a turkey sandwich on it with light mayo and mustard. I have also been on the water train with you. Six glasses in already.:)

10-06-2003, 05:22 PM
My period is frigged up!! I have been starting every month about 4 days earlier than the month before!! If this keeps up I will be having my period when we go to Florida. NOT FUN!! I guess that is why last week was so hard for me.PMS.

Holly, I know, that is why I had the cupcake guilt free. I knew I had better eat something else.(It probably should have been something other than a cupcake but oh well. )

I will try to post some pics of the RV when I get a chance. It has a huge tv up front . It is really nice.

I figured I had better hang a skinny looking shirt by the fridge because I need all the motivation I can get right now. I want to be smaller by the time we leave because I know I wont be very ditary while we are gone.

I have to get planning Brit's birthday party. We are going to do it on the 18. YEAH!! I hate planning parties. It is such a chore and then all ya get left with is a messy house.

10-06-2003, 06:56 PM

Hopefully your TOM will change back so you don't have it while in Florida! The skinny shirt is a good idea. A pair of my jeans that I saved (after 1st child jeans), were those that I kept trying on, and, they finally fit last month! Right now I am actually about 13 pounds heavier than I was in high school. I would like to see what I would look like at 125, but, not tiny skinny, more muscle. I have a long way to go for that though!!

Whew, I made it through today. I didn't eat any junk food, walked 6 miles with WATP, and drank 80 ounces of water. One day under my belt. I know I will be ok for the rest of the night, I have learned how to pass on hubby's late night snacks (use to be a problem.)

10-06-2003, 08:12 PM
Hey everyone just checking in....

Angie I would love to see some pics of your RV. I wish I had one, it would be like sleeping at home on the road. I don't like that many hotels. Hope that TOM gets back on track for ya. I bet all of your childrens friends wish they had you as a mom come birthday time being a baker. Do you make a really special cake on birthdays for them?

Holly isn't that the hardest thing when the hubby starts munching right if front you! I know first hand.

Kempy how was your day. I miss hearing from ya!!!!

Tonight for dinner I made lemon pepper chicken salads. It was really good. I wanted a tortilla to go with it but I passed. Yay! Alot less carbs by doing so:) . I also did sixteen minutes on treadmill. Not to much but atleast it was something. Bye for now

10-06-2003, 08:26 PM
I used to go crazy on the cakes but since I have been trying to eat healthy I have been doing just a plain low fat cake with a low fat glaze with some decorations on them. I actually hand drew Pikachu on a cake one year and colored it in with every color. What a pain in the butt...but it did come out nice. I used to do a halloween cake every year for Brittany but not lately. I would do chocolate fence posts and make a graveyard for her then I would make an ice cream cake like a pumpkin.

If it nice out tomorrow I will take some pics of the RV and post them. I am so excited about our first trip away!!! I am nervouse because we have never done it before but excited still.

I made a lowfat spaghetti for supper. YUM! I could have really pigged out on it but I didnt.

Late night munchies are the worst for me. It is so hard for me not to eat.

10-06-2003, 11:53 PM
I'm just checking in for the night... about to go to bed... tomorrow is another big payroll day for me..

Angie... you have the best and the worst job. I would love to be able to bake all that fun and tasty stuff, yet I think I would be as big as a barn if I were to have a job like that. You have to be proud that you are so disiplined.

Julie... and everyone.. your dinners sound great! Making me hungry.

Holly, you are doing a great job!!!!! Keep it up, and take it day by day.. and you will have a great week!

Jackie.. keep working, the results will show up!

Kempy.. can't wait to see pictures of you in your dress! Sounds like the banquet went well... I'm sure it was so much fun!!!

Ok.. well, it's time for me to turn in..... My TOM is offically here, and I can feel it in my back.. That is the one good thing about exercise.. it makes the pain go away ..... until you stop.. ugh...

Talk to you all tomorrow!

Ciao Ladies,

BRRRRRR... Fall is definately here in Italy. I was so stupid to ship off my coats and sweaters. All I have in the bag which I've been living out of is short sleeves. It heats up during the afternoon though so in about 2 hours i will be fine. I have a lot of walking to do to finish clearing so I'm waiting for the sun.

I went a little crazy last night cleaning my room. It reaked of amonia and all purpose cleaner. I had to leave the door open for a bit. 9 days to go!! I'm getting happier every day :D

Holly- I am number 2 in the sibling gang. We range from ages 23 to 4 (the 4 year old turns 5 the day after I get home) They tell me all the time how much they miss me and they're so excited about my homecoming, all except the 4 year old. He was only 8 months old when I left so he doesn't really know me :( all he knows is that when I'm around he doesn't get all the attention so I have a lot of bribing to do.

Kempy- Good to hear from you! I bet you were a hot little number in that dress of yours :flame: BTW Thanx for the encouragement. I really need it these days.

Angie- You have a lot of fun to look forward to just like me. Isn't it great!! MMM spaghetti. I've had my share of pasta over the last couple of years.

Cheri- You're definately keeping busy, and now you have TOM to deal with. But you're a trooper, I know you'll continue to kick butt!!

Jackie- Glad you could pop in, i've been wondering about you. good to hear from you.

Well i must continue with my grueling out processing process. TTYL

10-07-2003, 09:50 AM
Good Morning! Walking is getting harder to do everyday....it is 35 degrees outside this morning!!! I hate the cold weather. How can the dogs handle walking on the cold tar with their little paw pads? BBBRRR!!!!

I made it through last night with no mishaps. YEAH!!!! I just kept looking at that skimpy top.

Dips, I can just imagine how excited you are!! Your boyfriend must be equally as excited too. I cant imagine growing up in such a big family. It was just me and my sis growing up. My dad was from a family of 9 kids though. Your house must be fun around the holidays.

Cherie, the hardest part about the bakery is that it is in my back yard. If I get a craving at night then I can just walk outside to the kitchen and grab the ingredients to bake with or just grab a snack. That really hurts my diet. But it is so nice to work for myself and not have to travel to work. Our bakery is called Maine-ly Munchies.

Well, I am off to take a shower.

10-07-2003, 09:53 AM
Dips it was great to hear from you.... 9 days!!! Wow.... it will fly by! And you are right about the TOM... I'm not going to let it detour me... I will keep going, the exercise actually helps.... so it will be gone in a few days... :-)

Ok... I'm here at work... hope everyone is having a great day. I've already done my pilates this morning.... that is making me feel so good in the morning. I feel stretched out and focused!

I will check back in later!

Angie.. we were posting at the same time... man, that would be tough!! I love to bake and to cook.. and if I had everything at my finger tips... oh boy!! You deserve a huge pat on the back for your self control!!!!! And I love the name of your store! That is so cute!!!

Ok.. back to work now!

10-07-2003, 10:02 AM
Good morning!!

Way to go! I was a good girl yesterday as well. It must take ALOT of willpower to resist cravings when all you have to do is go to your back yard! It must be easier not having to travel to work though. Yeah, 35 is FREEZING! We live in NY state, so, it is almost equally cold :(. BLAH, winter is coming! Do you know how much water is too much to drink in a day? I ended up drinking 96 ounces yesterday. Is that too much? My husband thought so, and told me I should cut out a few glasses.

I too come from a large family, but, I am the baby. My mom had 4 sons and 3 daughters. My eldest brother is 54, youngest sister is 42, and I will be 27 in December. You must be ecstatic about coming home! Down to 8 days now?

Thanks for the encouragement. You seem to be losing at a steady pace, lucky you!! You will be at your goal weight in no time!

Well, I am on day 2 of being good. It is rough though, as I am sure any of you who fell off the band wagon and are trying to get back on will agree! I walked 3 miles and did 20 mins pilates. I am going to try and walk 3 more miles today.

Hello to Kempy, Noelle, Chris, Redballoon, Jackie, Julie...everyone else. Here's to another great day!

10-07-2003, 11:03 AM
Boy you guys were busy after I left work yesterday. Istill didn't see all of us posting though. I hope everyone is doing ok.

Angie that is FREEEZING!! It is 70 right now and it isn't even 9 in the morning. I am sure we will be hitting 85 today. I thought we were getting cooler but mother nature had other plans. I know before to long I will really be jealous of you b/c of all of the snow that you get. I love the name of your bakery. That is really cute. It is a shame that you arn't closer, I could come buy some of your yummy treats. The LF kind of course. ;) By the way HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO US!

Holly you and Cherie talking about pilates make s me want to get out my tapes and get goning with them agian. I really liked them. Strange but I think that it is a cold weeather thing. Maybe b/c I was doing them last winter.

Cherie what do you do?

Dips you couldn't buy a sweatshirt for the mornings? I love in mine here at work once it gets cold. We have to keep the gym cool even during the winter so I freeze. This year I am getting a heater for my office. I am not going to play the game of typing with one hand b/c I am sitting on the other trying to keep it warm.

Holly there is a formula for how much water to drink based on your weight. I will see if I can try to find it.

Julie your dinner sounds good. I never even thought about eating my lemon chicken on a salad. duh Since i have a freezer full I should make that tonight.

Jackie I am right there with you when it comes to not seeing progress quickly. I feel like I have been working really hard for weeks and I get nothing. My clothes get a little tighter actually. Hang in there girls and keep posting here. It really does help to write things out and to talk with people in the same boat as you.

I did good last night but I did have one little slip. I have some candy corn in the house and I had a few about 10. I am trying to stay completely away form sugar and that was not a good thing to eat. I think I might have to throw them away when I get home. They are littel demons!

I don't have much to do today so I will be in and out of here looking to chat. I hope to see you here.

10-07-2003, 11:11 AM
Here is my bedroom in the RV.

10-07-2003, 11:13 AM
Here is the living space in the RV

10-07-2003, 11:13 AM
That is a big room. I guess I never really knew how big those things were on the inside.

10-07-2003, 11:14 AM
Here it is from another angle.

10-07-2003, 11:19 AM
That is really nice Anige. Look at Rebel and Cappie. Are they mamas babies or what? They look so relaxed in there.

10-07-2003, 11:29 AM
Oh they love it. Rebel sat in my lap and was ready to go for a ride. It really is comfortable to ride in and sleep in. I could definately be a full timer if I didnt have kids. Maybe when they grow up. Is today our anniversary? If so I think we all have done great despite our setbacks every once in a while. YEAH US!!!

10-07-2003, 11:37 AM
I don't rememebr the exact date but I know it was in October. Let me see if I can find it.

10-07-2003, 11:41 AM
Hey, I just checked and it was on Oct. 7 th that Chris first posted. Angie you popped in on the 9th. So I guees today is really the strat of it all. I was just taking a shot in the dark, boy am I good.

I just found Noelle on the thread. You came in on Dec. 12th. I knoe I was chatting with you before that though in Gennel's posts. Anyway I just think it is so cool that all of us are still here. And still working to get to where we want to be.

10-07-2003, 11:52 AM
Goodmorning Ladies!

Angie I just love the pics of your RV. Its beautiful. Just like a living space of a real house!

Kempy those candy corn are so addicting. I am fearing Halloween , I mean I love this time of year but I also love chocolate. Especially Almonds Joys and Snicker bars. Well just about anything chocolate.

Happy Anniversary Girls. You guys are a great support team. I am feeling pretty positive today to stay OP, yesterday I did not cheat at all, basically trying to make up for the weekend!

Dips that is so nice you get to know your little brother when you get home. That must be really hard.

Hi Holly and Cherie and Noelle.

10-07-2003, 12:03 PM

You have a nice RV! It looks very spacy and comfy!

Hi! Oh, how I wish it were 75 or 80 here! Today's high is only 56 :(. How cool does it get in the winters where you live? I like the pilates, but, have to be careful not to strain my lumbar spine.
I LOVE those candy corns! Especially the ones that have chocolate tips, or those that are halloween shapes and are chocolate flavored.

Hi Julie!

10-07-2003, 12:16 PM
Candy corn with the chocolate tips are so good. I am scared of Halloween this year. Last year we did trick or treating and then I called my dad up and had him stop in on his way to work and grab all the chocolate candy that same night. The kids were pissed but I had just started my diet so it had to be done. This year I lack that drive so I am kinda nervous.

I could have an excuse to cheat every weekend from now till vaca but I need to not do it. Weekends suck!!

10-07-2003, 02:09 PM
So far so good today.:)
Kempy, Angie, and everyone what are you guys making for dinner tonight? Julie

10-07-2003, 02:43 PM
I have some left over shrimp that I boiled last night so I was thinking about making a stir fry. I really don't add any oil so it technically isn't a fry. I will just throw in some veggies and the shrimp with a little soy sauce. I am going to have it over brown rice. Joe wont be home for dinner so I will be cooking for myself. It will either be the stir fry or protein pancakes. It all depends on what I feel like when I get home.

What are you having Julie?

10-07-2003, 02:52 PM
Kempy what I am totally craving today since it is nice out today are hamburger on the grill with fried onions. I know it is so bad but moderation right;) .. Or I make a mexican lasanga that would be pretty good also. Stir fry sounds great. I always feel good after eating that because it tends not to be heavy. Julie:)

10-07-2003, 04:12 PM
Good morning ladies! I was here yesterday and had a big long post going on, but then I clicked on a link from my email and the window changed :headache: --poof, gone! I hate it when that happens. Anyway, I had a pretty gosh darn good weekend foodwise. We had a weekend BBQ and I had my one 4 oz petite filet mignon on the grill with a no-fat added baked potato w/broccoli :T . I didn't even munch on chips, I made a bag of SmartPop popcorn instead and measured out my 1 serving. I got my mojo back ladies :strong: :dancer:  . It's weird though, now that I'm counting these so-called points, I actually have to eat more than I normally would on a pre-WW OP day. Does that make sense? I actually get to eat more food. How weird is that? I hope my body can adjust to this because I'd hate to show up at my first weigh-in and show a gain :o: !!!

Happy Anniversary Kempy/Angie/Chris!!!! I remember first joining you gals on the "Tough Chicks at Large" thread  . It's nice that we're still hanging around. Woo-Hoo to us! Hope we see ALL of us fine ladies this time next year--at or near goal :crossed: .

Mmmm, Julie I had a load of grilled onions on my steak on Sunday :T . It was soooo good. I also found a 40 cal p/slice (but probably not low carb) wheat bread yesterday. They're pretty large slices too. I have no idea what's for dinner today, I'll have to go digging in the freezer to see. A mexican lasagna sounds muy delicioso!

Angie now that RV is my kind of camping! Looks so cushy. Love the name of your bakery :D . We have 80 degrees right now, looking to get up to maybe 90 :flame: . OMG 35 degrees? I think I experienced 35 degree weather once that I remember while in Reno, NV. It was Xmas eve and I had just made 21 and Rick and I hopped on a Grayhound bus from San Francisco. We only did an overnighter, pretty much staying up all night partying. There was snow on the ground even, really pretty. Kinda cheesy place to be during the holidays, but it was fun.

Hey Dips. Getting closer to home :goodvibes: . Are you sure you're not feeling "happy" because of the fumes? :s: Gosh, you have a 4 y.o. brother? That's how old my son is. It must be so cool to have brothers and sisters though, especially to be at the top end. I only have sisters. When I was growing up (I'm the baby) I got picked on because most of the older ones thought I was being spoiled by my parents (I was  ) . I'm sure you'll have a great reunion.

Holly, my fellow "baby of the family" and Sagittarian :high: . My b-day's on the 14th of Dec but I'm quite a few years older than you. But, age is relative isn't it? I still feel like I'm 25  .

Cherie, just reading your posts gets me energized. You're doing awesome. Keep it going, it's contagious!

Hello to Chris, Tonya, Sandy, Emily, redballoon, Jackie0 and everyone else. Have a great Tuesday.

10-07-2003, 05:57 PM
Hey guys! I was hoping that lots more posts would have come in. I am getting off work today at 4 so I wanted to pop in one more time before I left. I'm going to try to get back here later tonight. I should have time. I can't go walk Echo b/c she is in full blown heat and the male dogs are hanging around so I have to keep her inside so I will be cooped up with her for the night. If I can remember i will take a pic of her in her diaper. That is the funniest thing I have ever seen. She doesn't mind them either.

10-07-2003, 07:09 PM
I had meatball grinders with the left over sauce and meatballs that I made yesterday. I am going to put together a single serving of spaghetti and meatballs for me when we go to the ocean this weekend. This way I stay good and Jay can have Pizza Hut if he wants and I wont be tempted.

Kempy, I want to see a pic of Echo in her diaper. You should find a bottle and make her hold it and take a picture of her.

Noelle, Way to go with your mojo!!!! I am trying hard to keep mine too. I hope we can all keep it up. We are doing so good!

10-07-2003, 08:23 PM
Hey Girls,

Kempy that is just too funny about Echo wearing a diaper. Poor doggy. What we females have to go through:lol: .

Angie your sandwiches sound great! I never thought of making meatmball sandwiches. I have made chicken parmesan sandwiches though.

Hey Noelle I would like an eating plan that says I have to eat more! Sounds like WW is really working for ya.

As for me tonight I made tacos again. I was going to make the mexican lasanga but hubb wanted hard shelled tacos. I overate:^: but I am not going to have a snack tonight.
I need a haircut so bad. I want to call to get in but I know I am probally going to have to wait two weeks.....Ugh. Kempy I see from your pic you have longer hair too. It looks so healthy and pretty. Mine is about the same length and I am at the point where I kind of want to chop it. Well check in later girls.

10-07-2003, 09:43 PM
Holly, almost forgot...you asked about how much water you should be drinking per day? I read that if you divide your weight in half, that's how many ounces per day you should drink. See this link: http://www.pbs.org/americaswalking/fuel/fueldrinking.html

I'm not a doctor (but I do play one on TV, not!) but I think that's a pretty good formula. The scary thing is, some of the symptoms for drinking too much water are the same as being dehydrated. Of course, you may want to drink more if it's really hot out or if you're heavy into lifting weights and sweating alot. Hope this helps.

10-07-2003, 10:00 PM
I thought I'd have time to post before I left but don't! I'm leaving for my flight soon. May try to check in while I'm in the States but if not I'll see you all after the 22nd!

Take care. Bye for now. Dips, you have a good trip!!

10-07-2003, 11:54 PM
What do I do, but turn around and work a little.. and this thread gets BUSY!!! :-) Cool!

I am about to go to bed, but wanted to say hi!!!! I am feeling a little weird, a little off tonight... dizzy I guess... I am hoping I am not coming down with anything... I had a headache earlier... and took some migraine medicine, excedrin I think.. and since then, I have been feeling this way... maybe I won't be taking that again.

Julie... yum... tacos!!!! Maybe this weekend I will make those.... I just try to pour my taco meat mixture over some lettuce and leave the shell alone. It's still GREAT that way! Tonight I made a big pot of chili to take to lunch with me for the rest of the week.. it looks really really good!!!!

Kempy.. Poor Echo... I remember those days of having dogs... I think that is why I had mine spade! :-)

Noelle... WTG!!!! and Mojo is AWESOME!!!! Glad you found something that inspires you... that will definately keep you going!!!!

Ok.. reading all this talk of dinner is making me hungry again!!! :-) YUM!!!

Angie... Great RV... I would love to have that and go camping..!! That is so neat!!! Enjoy it! :-)

Ok... everyone.. I am going to bed.... HI to ANYONE I missed... I am so tired now, and my hands are shaking.. so I am sorry if I missed you.... I will check in tomorrow!

10-08-2003, 04:35 AM
Ciao Ladies!!

I am soooo hapy today. A friend of mine said the magic words to me " wow are you losing weight?" YYAAAAAAYYY  I can't tell you how good it feels to hear that agin! It made me push harder in aerobics class this morning.

Kempy, Julie- Candy corns ? Eeeeeewwwww. That is by far the nastiest candy ever invented.(next to black jellybeans) I used to hate it when people gave 'em to me on halloween :<

Kempy- It would make sense to buy a sweater for the cold mornings but I am cheap so until my limbs fall off, I'm gonna tough it out. Crazy, i know.

Julie- Being at the top of the sibling pile is cool for now but in 20 years I'll be nown as "the old one" :( But it's cool though. I love my big family. And It won't be that hard to get to know the baby. My parents did a really good job of keeping me fresh in his mind through videos and pictures. Plus I had a chance to visit over the years so if you point to me and ask him who I am he'll acknowledge me as his "sister, Angie." He just has to get used to me being around on a regular basis. I think now he sees me as a distant cousin more than a big sister.

Angie- I love the pics! you are gonna have so much fun in that thing. And the dogs are beautiful. I can't imagine growing up in a small family! Both my parets come from a fam of 7 kids and my aunts and uncles all have at least 4. So yeah our holidays are jamming. My fiance is definately excited and so am I, almost to the point where I hate talking to him on the phone because I want to see him so bad. Talking to him makes me miss him more. BTW once again on the topic of candy corns, EEEWWWW

Cheri- You are so much better than I am! I hate working out with TOM. But you are keeping a good attitude about it. You go girl!

Holly and Noelle- as the babies of your families, I think I'm safe in assuming you both were spoiled brats who got what you wanted and got away with things your older sibs NEVER in a MILLION YEARS would have gotten away with. It's all good though, every kid has their place and mine is the oldest girl, the first girl, the role model and mentor. I love to be able to tell the girls about my life and what I've done so far, plus I know they'd tell me stuff they wouldn't tell my mom so I'm a good liason between them and the parents.

BTW Noelle- though the fumes help, I'm pretty sure I'd be happy regardless  you are a funny gal.

Happy anniversary to Angie/KEmpy/chris and I'm sure others have hit a milestone with this site. I first joined on Gen's "challenge" thread and migrated to this one. It's been great! We rock!

Wow I wrote a lot!! I have errands to run, i gotta go. TTYL

10-08-2003, 04:37 AM

I'm right behind ya, girl! Wish we could've seen eachother, though.

10-08-2003, 10:41 AM
Good Wedneday morngng to you all. My boss is gone until Monday so I will be playiung on the puter all day. :cp:

When I got home I found out that Joe had the camera so I couldn't take a pic of Echo. He will be home tonight so I will take it when I get home tonight. We are going to spay here Cherie but we are going to breed her once. I am going to to school for Electrolysis and I need the puppies to pay for my machine. I know I am a terrible mommy, I am pimping out my dog.

Dips I hate to hear that you hate candy corn. My hubby doesn't really like it either. I don't now where it came form maybe my mom. She always bought either those or circus peanuts. (another candy I love). Hey, I am the baby too and I wasn't spoiled. :p I just never did anything. I was a home body, still am.

Anige is a meatball grinder like a po'boy? How cold is it up there today? Have you heard form Sandy lately?

You guys talking about food is killing me. I get here to work and read the posts from last night and I get hungry reading them. I love it though. I like to see what everyone esle eats for dinner.

10-08-2003, 10:44 AM
Hey! How is everyone doing? It looks like we are all back on track :) . I have been trying to get my 6 miles done in the morning so I don't have to worry about not wanting to do any more later. At this rate, I figure I will either kick my metabolism in gear, or, my legs will fall off.

Isn't it a great feeling when someone notices all of the hard work you have been doing!? Well, I got pretty much whatever I wanted until I turned 13 and my father passed away. Then we were on a very tight budget, and I babysat part time to make money to help with school supplies and clothes. Also, there is a pitfall to being the youngest! My mother knew all of the tricks, and my older brothers were wild teenagers, so, I was pretty much kept on the straight and narrow. It is great that you make a point to be in your younger siblings lives, that didn't happen for me. My bros and sisters were so much older they had families of their own.

Please be careful not to overdo! That dizziness and shakiness could be a sign your body was ready to crash (for bed).

Have a great trip!

Thanks for the link. I think 96 ounces is probably too much for me to be drinking, and will cut down some. The odd thing is with all the water drinking, my fingers are swollen. Does that make any sense? I thought the excess water would flush out my system. How is WW going? Do you have alot of food choices?

My hair sometimes drives me crazy too! But, when I think about cutting it, I change my mind because it takes forever to grow!

I know what you mean about weekends. Although, every day is a struggle for me now because I am laid off. When I was at work, I would eat breakfeast, and keep myself busy until lunch so not to think about the hunger pangs or grabbing a snack.

LOL, echo in a diaper, would be cute to see! Are dogs obnoxious when in heat? I know when our cats would be in heat it was awful!

10-08-2003, 10:53 AM
Holly dogs are no where close to how cats act. I had a cat go into heat b4 I could fix her so I know how bad it can be. All Echo is doing is bleeding. (for 2 weeks yuck) Right now is the worse time though b/c her body is ready to get pregnant and she is sending out some sort of smell. i can't smell it but the dog in the neighborhood can so they are haning close to the house. That is why I keep her in. She has got papers and she has quite a few awards for the dog trials she has gone through so we don't want any old dog breeding with her.

I was 13 when my dad died too. He died from lung cancer and didn't even smoke. Scary huh? I know what you mean about living on a strick budget. We had to do the same thing.

Julie my hair is starting to drive me crazy too. I usually wear it is a ponytail unless we go somewhere. I have to straighten it everytime too. I would cut it but I am scared. It took me so loing to get it here and I might not like the new do, then I am stuck with short hair.

10-08-2003, 12:09 PM
I am feeling much better this morning.. I really think I was having a reaction to the headache medicine I took. Oh well, big lesson learned!

They are decorating here at work for Halloween.... my area is all decked out! :-) I love Halloween, and so do my girls. I need to go get their costumes this weekend, Barbie of Swan Lake! :-)

Holly, your metabolism will kick in soon!!!! Just keep up the great work!!! You are getting really motivated... Wonderful!

Hahaha Kempy the Pimpy! Haha.. aww.. that is ok. If you have a good breed of dog, I would say have babies!!! That is great! Oh, I think you asked before what Pilates I was using, I have two tapes. I do the Mari Windsor Advanced Body Slimming one that I do in the morning, it's only 19 minutes... so something quick to get me started on my day... and in the evenings, I have been doing the Pilates for Dummies, it's about 28 minutes. Goes a little slower, but still great.. I feel soooo good after I do those tapes. I can't believe I haven't known about this form of exercise before now!

Dips!!! Isn't that the most awesome feeling????? I am still waiting on someone to really notice here.. but I guess because I keep my big ugly sweater on all the time no one can tell! ;-)

Anyway... I've done my Pilates this morning... and I am ready to get off and go workout this afternoon... Work is going to be a little slow... Oh well, guess I will get up and walk around a lot... work with my arm weights here at work.. maybe that will take up some time! :-)

Everyone have a great day, I will check back tonight!

Hey Girls

Cherie I know what you mean about the excedrine, I get migraines every month with TOM and I took them about two months ago and got the shakes and just felt weird. I haven't took them since.

Kempy I am sorry to hear about your dad. That must have been very difficult for you. I think our moms are alike she bought candy corn every Halloween. And she is totally addicted to circus peanuts. So was her mom. I don't eat them anymore to much I ate to many was I a kid. I can also know the strict budget thing. My parents divorced when I was six. It really makes me appreicate things in life now. Enjoy the boss being out. Relaxed atmosphere huh?

Holly you are doing great! You are going to reach your goal. I am also sorry about your dad.

Dips congrats on the compliments. That must feel really wonderful. Almost homecoming time!

Have a safe and nice trip Red.

Hi Angie and Noelle!

I was not going to post today kind of feeling down for some reason. But I feel better after I posted. Maybe it was the two skinny cow ice cream sandwiches last night. Oh well I am only human, I will get over it. :) Julie

10-08-2003, 03:02 PM
WOW! You guys have been busy today. I will do individual posts later when I get a free minute. I just wanted to stop in and say HI! Back to Work!!

10-08-2003, 05:54 PM
Hey guys! I am leaving work an hour early again today. I didn't workout b/c I hve the headache from **** right now. Working out makes it worse. I have been bored all day so I figured leaving early is ok. I hate it when it is slow around here.

I am going to try to check back in later but Joe wants to go to dinner so I don't know what time we will be getting home.

So if I don't chat with you tonight, I will see you in the morning.

10-08-2003, 11:36 PM
Hey ladies! I hope you all had a great day!! Tomorrow my big boss is coming in... there is supposed to be some sort of announcment.... keep your fingers crossed it isn't that they are closing our office down after the first of the year! That has been a rumor flying around lately. Going to be a stressful day!!!!

Kempy, hope your headache has gone away..... get better!

Julie.. glad you posted... don't worry about the ice cream. We all need our little treats every now and then to stay sane!

Anyway.. I hope everyone else is doing great..... I will talk to you all in the morning!

10-08-2003, 11:47 PM
Cherie you are so sweet. Good luck tomorrow, you will be in my thoughts. I am sure you will stay on track and not do any stress eating!!!!

Kempy hope your dinner was good and your headache gets better. They sure are a pain!

Hi Angie you must have had a busy day today. Almost time for your weekend getaway!

Well I am going to try and get some sleep. Bye for now!:)

10-09-2003, 03:28 AM
Ciao Ladies,

I am up early this morning (7:00) trying to finish out processing. I'm dowm to the home stretch now, 1 week :D Happy Happy oy JOY!!

Kempy, Holly- Wow, I really can't imagine losong someone so close at such a young age. Just goes to show how well Young people overcome tragedy. I still don't like candy corns but I have a new level of admiration for both of you.

Kempy, drink plenty of water whenever you have a headache, as they are often caused by dehydration. It is so much harder for me to drink water these days because it's getting cooler.

Holly- i would hate for my brothers and sisters to not know me very well. I've seen that happen with my grandmother she was 18 when her sister was born and the following year she moved out and got married then her other sister was born so they didn't grow up as close as they would have liked. The problem was my grandma moved to a different state so they didn't see much of eachother. I plan to be very active in the kids' lives. I already know I won't be as close to them as they are to eachother because I won't be living in my parents house as they grow up but I will try my hardest to be there when they need me.

Cherei- peopl will notice once you ditch the sweater. Break out those size 9 jeans and I bet eyebrows wil be rasied ;) But seriously, things like that [sudden compliments] only happen when you least expect it. It was a pleasant suprise.

Angie- You seem very busy lately but I hope you're being a good girl, i'm watching you!

10-09-2003, 10:31 AM
Good morning ladies! Only one more day until Friday and boy am I ready.

The headache is not here right now and I am hoping that it doesn't come back. I really think it is the front that is moving very slowly over us right now. Trust me Dips I drink plenty of water. I don't think this was from not having enough water. I ended up eating sushi instead of the steak that I was originally going to get. I couldn't resist. I am trying to stay away from to many carbs but once we got there it just looked so good I had to have some.

Dips I am so happy for you, only 1 week left. Do you have a wedding date set yet?

Cherie I hope you don't get bad news. Do you work in a large company?

Angie come out to play!

You too Noelle!

Julie at leat it was LF ice cream right?

We seem to be missing a few people here lately. Tonya, Emily, Holly, Sandy, Chris, Jackie and DI (which only showed up once)

10-09-2003, 10:54 AM
Good Morning. Yesterday was hectic. I went to Bangor to try to find some things to put in the gift bags for Brittanys party. I didnt find anything sao I ended up putting in an order at the Oriental Trading Company. Thay have so many things there. I bought a bunch of games and craft kits for the kids stocking stuffers while we are on our way to Florida. Maybe just maybe I can keep them occupied for the long *** rides there. I am going to get them their gameboys all ready so they can play those in silence(fingers crossed. )

I have been doing excellent this week with my eating and exercise. No slip ups or anything. The scales are moving slowly in the right direction and all the bloat is now gone(just in time for the weekend temptations) I am going to try my best to be good Saturday. It was beautiful out yesterday and today. I actually had to put on shorts yesterday whereas the day before I wouldnt even go outside after I froze my *** off on our 35 degree walk. Maine weather is wierd. Yesterday felt just like spring to me. I loved it because spring is my favorite time. I will try to get some good foliage pics Saturday and post them for those of you who dont get the season changes.

Dips, 1 WEEK!!!!! I am excited for you!!!

Kempy, feeling better? You never told us you got the financing for school(unless I missed it) YEAH!!! Have you started yet? Are you breeding Echo with this heat or her next one? She is so beautiful you shouldnt have any problems selling her pups but wont you have a hard time letting them go? I had a cat get pregnant once before I could get her fixed and I HAD to keep all 4 of the babies. I figured it was my fault she got pregnant so they were all my responsibility. Fat Cow is the only one left now. Taz,Oreo and Peewee got eaten by foxes and Pooh Bear(my favorite cat ever) got run over(the really sad thing about that is that we lived in the woods and there was never any traffic on our road and he got run over one night and he never went out at night except that night. I miss him.

Cherie, I have my fingers crossed for you that the announcement is good news.

10-09-2003, 11:21 AM
Sorry Anige I thought I had said something about it. My mom is going to pay for my school and then I will just pay her back. The great thing is that she doens't want any interest. I was prepared to have to pay the bak to get a lona and now she is taking care of it for me. I will start Dec. 4th or 5th. Our DU sponsors banquet is on the 4th and I don't know how much I need to do for that.

I think we are going to breed Echo with our neighbors dog. He is almost the same color as her. In fact he was hanging around our back yard this morning. I think he smelled that Echo was in heat and he was coming to pay her a visit. Needless to say that didn't happen. I have been keeping her inside with me. I dont' want to have puppies right now. In fact, she can't have any until we have her hips and eyes checked. Labs can have problems and we don't want to sell bad puppies.

Anige one of our members just came back form a 3 month RV trek. They siad they went all through Maine and even Bangor. They were so close to you. I wish I could have hitched a ride to see you. I don't think I could have been away for 3 months though.

10-09-2003, 11:27 AM
I would love to be able to meet you too. I told Jay that next year we should just go straight across and come by your town for a few days.

I have to let Jay call his brother back so I'll be back in a while.

10-09-2003, 11:48 AM
I'm back. That is so sweet of your mom. I remember you were stressed about findinf funds for school so that is great that she can help you out. You must be so happy to be starting.

Having her hips and eyes checked is good. Candi's breeder does all of that with her dogs. I found their websight and got to see what Candi's mom looks like. She is pretty but I still think Candi is cuter. Candi's parents were champion showdogs. I thought that was neet. I looked it up on a Keeshond of America websight. they were both in the top 8 of 100 Keeshond for about 5 years in a row each. They wanted her to go to a show home but I am not interested in doing all the showing. Candi hates to be groomed and act like a lady too.

I need to have my hair cut because it is getting long again and I called my hairdresser and she had an operation and wont be back until November. YIKES! I will be shaggy if I wait until then. I am getting it cut even shorter this time too.

Did they say if they went to Moosehead Lake in Greenville? If they did they probably stopped at my In Laws Bakery and had some of our donuts.

10-09-2003, 12:10 PM
Good morning to everyone. Not much new to report here. I am still avoiding sugar and doing my best to exercise 5 days a week. My weight has stayed the exact same though. I was pretty frustrated yesterday when I stepped on the scale and I had not lost 1 ounce. Hopefully one day soon my hard work will pay off.

Kempy- Where are you going to school, and what are you going to study? Good luck to you!!!!

Angie- I was sorry to hear about your cat stories. How are you and your family doing? Has it been difficult to avoid the bakery snacks or have you been staying on plan?

Dips- You are getting down to the nitty gritty!! Are you excited????

Cherie- Sounds like you are staying on plan and doing great. How old are your girls? My 4 year old godchild, Emma, is obsessed with Barbie swan lake. It used to be Barbie Rapunzel, but thank God she got over that one.

Hey Holly, Julie, Sandy and Noelle (and everyone else). Have a great day!!!

10-09-2003, 01:10 PM
Goodmorning everyone.

Don't really have alot of time right now, but just wanted to pop in and say Hi! Having a great OP day today. Lots of water and a good breakfast. Kinda of feeling stressed a little bit. I have a question for you guys, does your mother ever drive you nuts?Just kind of feeling that way today.
Kempy how great you are going back to school. I would like to someday also. I would like to do it for myself. Just find something I really love to do. Well lets all try and have a wonderful OP Thursday. Thanks for listening guys. Julie:)

10-09-2003, 01:45 PM
Does your mother ever drive you nuts??? My mom is like a travel agent for guilt trips.

10-09-2003, 04:51 PM
Hey Girls!!!!

I am feeling so much better! My hairdresser was able to get me in today. I thought I was going to have to wait two weeks. It actually looks really cute. Hey did I just give myself a compliment?!?:o I never do that! She just trimmed it up to my shoulders and put lots and lots of layers in it. It is amazing you a new cut can make you feel. Now hopefully with all that hair gone I will have lost at least a pound!

Cherie I hope everything is working out for you today at work. I hope your day was not to stressful.:

Kempy, Angie, Noelle, Holly, Jackie and everyone else how is your day going?

10-09-2003, 05:03 PM
Happy Thursday. It's day 5 of WW for me and I finally saw some downward movement on the scale. I was getting worried for a bit there (being a daily scale worshipper and all :D) but it looks like all the water I'm chugging is helping. I think I'll go for a weigh-in tomorrow during work time (hehe) since I don't want to take any time out of my weekend w/family. Hope this is THE system that makes a life difference for me to keep the weight off :crossed: .

Julie, does my mother ever drive me nuts? Oh boy oh boy, what a question...whose doesn't? I love her dearly though. I live w/my parents (we live in the downstairs part of the house) so I see her all the time. Vent away if you need to.

JackieO  , travel agent for guilt trips eh? That's funny. Hang in there girlie, you're doing great.

Kempy, I'd pick sushi over steak probably 4 out of 5 times if you offered :T . I think Echo would have some really cute puppies. I know what Angie means though, you just might HAVE to keep one or two of 'em around.

Angie WTG on staying OP! I love the mojo going on here. Hang tough for the weekend. I think we need to plan plan plan our meals so we just don't eat anything, everything in sight. Yikes, what are you gonna do about your hairdresser? Do you have an alternative person you go to? I hate that, changing people especially when the "regular" one knows all the special quirks of your hair. Know what I mean? I'd love to see pics of the leaves changing too.

Dips, almost home!

Cherie, crossing my fingers for good news! :crossed: and I'm with Dips, if you've got that body, flaunt it!

Hey to Holly, redballoon, Tonya, Emily, Sandy, Chris...lurkers all  Have a great day.

10-09-2003, 05:07 PM
Julie, we'd love to see the haircut. Hooray for feeling great and giving yourself compliments. You deserve it. Love yourself, now, not when you lose 10 lbs or 20 lbs. Now. :drill: :D

10-09-2003, 05:22 PM
Julie I guess you finally did it. I am with Noelle, I would love to see it. My mom wears on my nerves too but I love her.

Jackie I am going to go to school for Electrolysis. I was interested in that when I lived in Florida but now the school is literally right around the block from where I work now so it seemed like it was calling me.

Angie and Noelle, don't worry, I think Joe is going to keep one of the puppies and train it to hunt himself. I am so glad that we don't have to do the away from home thing again. That was miserable.

I think Iwill be getting off work a little early today so that I can workout. I don't have a headache so I want to get something in today. I hope to chat with you guys before i leave today.

Noelle I am so glad that you found your groove. I knew you would. You deserve it too!

10-09-2003, 05:37 PM
I found this and thought it was interesting.

10-09-2003, 05:48 PM
Kempy, just wait all those fuzzy little puppies to love. You are going to love it. Echo probably will be ready for them to go when they are old enough though. When Taz had her kittens I thought oh she is such a good mom I cant take her babies away. That poor cat had cats hanging off her nipples until they were bigger than her, she had to kick them off her. it was so funny to see a cat laying down and have 4 full grown sized kittens knitting on her like they were breast feeding. haha. They did it until they were well over a year old. We had to bottle feed them when they were newborn too. My dad let Nakita(his Rottie) in the bedroom where Taz and the kittens were. Taz attacked that dog so bad. She pulled all her toenails out in Nakitas face and body. Ya gotta love Nakita though. A full grown Rottie cowering and trying to get away from a spastic cat. She never tried to hurt the cat or anything she just wanted out. Needless to say Taz was almost dead from all the energy she spent attacking the dog that she wouldnt nurse so we had to go to the vets and get formula and little bottle droppers and hand feed them every few hours. That was not fun. They cry loudly when they want to be fed.

Julie, I want to see your haircut too. I'll bet you look beautiful.

Noelle, I dont have a clue what I am going to do. Tammy has done my hair since I was a kid. I live 30 miles from her as it is. I dont use the ones from my own town. Iguess I will just trim up the front myself and wait for her to come back. It will drive me nuts though.

I am glad you found your mojo too. We are doing great if I dont say so myself. I dont want to jynx it though. I am making my own supper fot this weekend and Jay and the kids can have pizza if they want. I want to at least look good for Florida so I hope I can hold off until then to do any pigging out. I wont be sticking to any kind of diet for those 2 weeks though.

I have to go look at cell phones sometime here. I need one but I have know idea how they work. Can I use it in Florida if I get one from here. We had one along time ago that we couldnt use if we went too far away from home(kinda defeats the purpose doesnt it. )

10-09-2003, 05:50 PM
Hey Girls our scanner was not working but I will see if I can get my hubby to take a look at it and if it does work I will put a pic up!

I think I got the stress gene in me from my mom but I just love and adore her. Only if I could have gotten the metabolism that she has! We actually go and get our haircut together and she bought today.

Thanks Noelle you are a real honey!

Kempy that is something about the sugar. It sounds like it really can contribute to alot of health problems. I am really trying to cut down.

Well off to make supper. Either going to grill a steak or have some shrimp cocktail with a baked potatoe and a veggie. Check in later! Julie

10-09-2003, 08:37 PM
MMM Shrimp cocktail sounds good. I made crispy "fried" chicken tonight. I take chicken breast and pound it thin and cut it into strips. Then I dip it in egg whites and roll in WOW chip crumbs. Bake it in the oven until crunchy and cooked. It is so good. It tastes just like fried chicken without the fat.

I bagged up all of our cans and bottles tonight. We have almost $50.00 worth of cans at our house. That isnt even from the whole year either. We drink ALOT of diet coke. Another $50.00 in the vaca fund always helps.

Kempy, Did you get your workout in this afternoon?

Noelle, Are ya working hard today?

Cherie, Did everything work out at work today. I hope so.

The kids all have physicals in the morning. YIPPEE!!! We have our wholesaler showing up in the morning and tons of cake donuts to make so it should make getting any sort of workout in fun. I'll have to make up for it at the coast with some extra hiking on Saturday.

10-09-2003, 09:32 PM
Hey everyone.... I am here.. just a little worn down.. feeling bloated and icky.... I guess it's still that lovely TOM effects. I did eat a couple of things not OP today, one was a candy bar. And I figured out it wasn't worth it, but chocolate is still calling my name, so now I am just going to have to go back avoiding it and it won't be so bad. I will go and do my elliptical machine exercises tonight.. so maybe that will help me feel better.

Well, there are no decision about our office yet, the big annoucement was one of our three managers is leaving due to personal and professional reasons. Her last day is next Friday. She heads up one of our biggest accounts, and our survival depends on how well this account goes. So in a way, it's bad we are losing 1/3 of our management team, but the good thing is, my manager is going to take over, and if anyone can get this account to run smoothly, she can! I just hope it doesn't kill her with all the work!

I am too tired to do individual hellos... so one big hello to EVERYONE!!! You guys are doing GREAT THIS WEEK!!!!

I will talk to you tomorrow!

10-10-2003, 10:10 AM
Well, I am feeling better this morning. Yes, I was right about feeling bloated and such, because I am up a pound. I am now 141.00. But I am not depressed, because I know it's just water. I know the candy bar from yesterday didn't make me gain weight.. maybe stall it, but not gain.. and I did all my exercise yesterday... This weekend will be a good one... so Hopefully, by Monday, the scales will be down, the bloating will be gone and so will TOM!!!

How is everyone this morning? I am glad it's Friday... it's just going to be a long day. :-(

10-10-2003, 11:06 AM
Hey guys.

I am not in the best of moods today. I feel like I have been working so hard on to find that my jeans hurt today. I don't understand what is going on. I know it isn't PMS b/c that was last week. I am not going to give up but I feel terrible now.

10-10-2003, 12:17 PM
Kempy, maybe it was the sushi that is making you hold water today. You are doing a great job.

Cherie, I am glad to hear that the announcement wasnt too bad. You have a great attitude about your weight loss. I am trying my best to think like that.

I have already bought a big salad from Subway to go with my spaghetti and meatballs tomorrow night and I have a half a sandwich for my lunch tomorrow so I am planning to be good all weekend. Fingers Crossed!!

I have a problem with my email. I checked it yesterday 1400 messages so I wade through it all and delete it and shut off the computer when I turn it back on they are all back again so I checked them, deleted them and then went to the deleted files and permanently deleted them, GUESS WHAT? they are back again. What do I do? I am pissed off because I am waiting for a confirmation on Brits order and dont have time to wade through all the junk mail everytime. I am getting it from 13/03 until now. It is the same **** I deleted already. Since I am computer illiterate it is bugging me.

10-10-2003, 06:03 PM
Happy Friday everyone! I just got back from my WW meeting and I'm down 1.8 lbs so yippee!!! Any loss is a good loss for me. I have nigiri sushi for lunch today, low in fat and points--I can eat 4 pieces of this type of sushi for only 2 pts. That means a whole lunch box type of "meal" is only 4 pts. WOW! Cool. I liked sushi before, but I like it even more now that I know I can eat it without guilt. I've been drinking tons of water and it's helping to keep the bloat out. Speaking of bloat, TOM decided to visit yesterday...geez, it's only been over a month and a half since the last one  . SO I'm happy that I showed any kind of loss at all. I have a 1-year old b-day party to go to for my cousin's daughter tomorrow. That'll be a challenge since here in Hawaii it's a tradition to go all-out for the baby's first year with a luau. I'll be using my flex points for sure.

Angie, you go girl with your planning. As far as the email messages reappearing in your inbox after deletion, it sounds like a problem with your server, not your computer. Don't know how to fix that except to call the service provider and see what's going on. That's a pain for sure.

Kempy, hang in there. If you know you've been OP and working out then don't kick yourself in the @ss. Some weeks, just suck don't they? You're doing great though, so keep doing it. Hehe, I invested in some Lands' End ankle length sport knit pants. They're not too clingy like leggings, and they're perfect for days like these. I think they're actually a little slimming too. Try 'em, you might like 'em.

Cherie, TOM will be gone soon and so will that extra bloat. Your progress is inspiring and amazing. Take care of yourself, ya hear?

So Julie, was it the steak or the shrimp cocktail last night? I love either. I'm not particularly picky about food, which is probably how I got this big  . What's on the menu tonight?

My hands are freezing from the A/C and drinking all this cold water...gotta go warm up. Hi to everyone else  . Check back later.

10-10-2003, 06:18 PM
Hey Girls

Noelle it was the shrimp cocktail and boy was it good.
Congrats on the loss! THats wonderful!

Kempy I am sorry you are having a rough one. If it helps I had a couple of those this week also. Hang in there things will get better. :) Your hard work will pay off!

Angie have a great trip this weekend! Have fun.

Cherie don't worry about the one pound. It will soon be gone along with the water.

I have not gotten in that much excercise this week. But I would like to take a nice long walk this weekend. I am just not looking foward to winter coming. Well gotta go make some supper. I have no idea what to make tonight. Take care everyone. Julie

10-10-2003, 08:44 PM
I can't chat long b/c I need to balance the check book. yuck!

Anige I wanted to wish you a good trip. I know that you will have a great time. I am so proud that you guys got the RV. You are able to get out and see the world more. I remember when we first started to chat you really hadn't traveled much but know look at you. That is awesome!

10-10-2003, 09:05 PM
Thanks Kempy. I'll try to get some good pics to show you guys.

The kids all had to have shots today. They made Brit sit on her hands. I said it was probably so you cant deck them. I told them I wouldnt go in with her because she would spaz out if I was there. Poor Corey had his physical and they wanted me in there so when the doc made him take his pants down so she could check his testicles he just about died!!! He was looking at me like help she is gonna touch my nuts!! I said she has to check them. Poor kid!! Needless to say they all needed shots Brit didnt cry or anythiong.,. Go fiugure a kid who wont take medicine but give her a shot and she is happy. In the car she looks at Alicia and says whats this button for and poked her bandaid. Little brat.

I hope everyone has a great weekend. i am going to weigh in in the morning before I leave if I have time. I have made my supper for tomorrow already so wish me luck that I stay on track.

Noelle, You rock!!! Congrats on your loss!!

10-10-2003, 10:05 PM
Hey everyone!!! It's been a busy day! Glad to see everyone who has checked in!!!

Angie.. have a great weekend, and WTG on planning out your weekend meals. You will do GREAT!!! And thank you for the compliment you gave me earlier about how I think.. I am trying to stay positive and think with the facts and not with my emotions when it comes to what I weigh. It's a matter of numbers... so what I eat verse what I put out in exercise will make me lose weight! Anyway.. have a GREAT weekend!

Julie.. hope you find time for that nice long walk this weekend... Winter is just around the corner.. I hate the cold and winter... so I am not looking forward to the next few months. Glad I am already working on my weight. It will give me something to focus on instead of hibernating.

Noelle!!!!!!!!! WOOO HOOO!!!!! You rock!!! Wtg on your weight loss!! I bet that really keeps you motivated!!! That is awesome!!! And thank you for the compliment about being inspiring.. wow... thanks!

Kempy.... keep up the great work.. it will come off.. remember me last week and my whining... just give your body time to adjust....

Ok... almost time to put the girls to bed.. then I am going to work on the ellpitical machine.... Have a great weekend, and I will check back tomorrow!

10-11-2003, 08:10 AM
Good Morning!!! I wanted to weigh in before I left. I am down 1 pound this week. It sure is nice to see the scales moving in the right direction again.

Have a Great Weekend Everybody.

10-11-2003, 08:25 AM
Good morning ladies! I also weighed in this morning, 143.5! Last Monday I weighed 146. That probably means I should eat a little more bc isn't 2 pounds a week the max we should lose? I was going to allow myself a cheat day, but after seeing the scale, I have to try not to! Maybe some fat free goodies though.

Have you been eating alot of salt? Salt makes me swell up so badly. Try not to get discouraged, I know sometimes it's real hard. I had to do the checkbook thing yesterday, blah.

Wow! 1400 e-mail messages!? Who do you have e-mail with? I think you can order an anti-spam program that will block pop ups and e-mail spam. Congrats on the loss! I hope you have a great weekend!

I am sure that 1 lb will be gone in no time. Our bodies retain fluids, etc, and therefore our weight can vary by as much as 4 pounds at any given time. You're doing great!

Congrats on the 1.8 pound loss! It sounds like WW is working for you. I have never tried sushi, but, am not sure I have the guts too. I am not much on trying new foods that smell funny, lol.

Hello to everyone else! Here's to an OP weekend :goodvibes.

10-11-2003, 09:53 AM
Ok... Scale is moving in the WRONG direction. This morning, I am 142.00. That is frustating on top of getting totally frustated with my girls this morning..... won't go into that.. other than, I am trying to make them eat at meal times, and not snack inbetween. And when you don't eat dinner the night before, don't wake me up at 6:00 AM when it's still dark saying you are hungry on a Saturday morning!!!!

Sorry.... just a little rant.

Holly!!!! FANTASTIC!!!! You are doing AWESOME!!!

Angie!!!!! YOU ARE DOING GREAT TOO!! Wow.... have a great weekend!

Anyway... gonna keep exercising and hopefully the scale will start moving back down. Talk to you all later!

Ciao Ladies,

I am just trying to enjoy my last weekend in Italy. So many people are treating me to lunches and dinner, that is NOT gonna help me off this plateu but how many more opportunities will I have to enjoy this Italian cuisine right :) I'm up a half a pound to 140.5 but it's good considering all the food people are throwing at me. Also I've come so far I know have a lot to be proud of.

Angie- I told you you'd find your groove. Good for you on the loss,

Noelle- Good for you too, you're doing WW proud.

Cherie- No one said this process was easy, don't let this rough patch get you down.

Holly- I couldn't be more proud of you after this week. You are well on your way :)

Kempy- I hope despite everything you enjoy your weekend. You deserve it.

I will be busy after the weekend is up so I f you don't hear from me right away...that's why. Take care

10-11-2003, 04:29 PM
Hey Dips enjoy that yummy Italian food while you can I would not worry this weekend. After all this your last weekend there just have some fun!

Cherie don't worry things will start moving in the right direction. It is probally just water. Keep up the good work!

Holly WOW! I wish I could say I had lost this week. I am not sure on how many pounds a week are safe to lose.

Hi Kempy, Noelle, Angie, Tonya, Chris and everyone else. Have a great Saturday!

10-11-2003, 04:33 PM
Oh BTW I bought a new digital scale. It was tweny-eight dollars! I did not think it was going to cost that much. Now if I can lose twenty-eight pounds:lol: !!!! I love it already, it is so much easier to read than the dial one. Julie

10-12-2003, 08:33 PM
I am back! Can you believe that I stayed totally OP while we were camping? Well I did!!! YEAH!!!! I made a low fat cake for dessert so I didnt feel deprived. If anyone can ever make it to Maine I would highly recommend that you visit Camden,Rockport areas. The campground was so nice. There were pine trees and chipmunks everywhere so of course Rebel had to whine at them. It was so much fun. We found so many starfish!! That is nice for me because all the times I have been to the coast I have only found one starfish and when he dried he was smaller than a dime. I found a HUGE one. I took a pic of it with Brit that I will post in a second. The dogs were so tired last night that they crashed as soon as we got back from the ocean and didnt stir until this morning. The only hard part about camping is having to come home. Jay just sold his snowmobile so now I can pay my property taxes for the year AND buy a scrren add a room for the RV for when we go to Florida.

Cherie, You are doing everything right girl. I am sure it is just a little water weight and it will leave soon. Keep your chin up. I hear you totally on the snacking. It seems that is all mine want to do too.

Dips, You are so close to being home!!! All the italian food sounds yummy, enjoy it while you can. You never know if you will get back there again. Enjoy your last few days there.

Holly, Great LOSS!!!!!! I dont think 2 pounds a week is too many. When I lost the 135 that is about how many a week I lost on average. You are doing awesome!!!

Julie, Enjoy your scale. I love mine(sometimes not so much though. )

10-12-2003, 08:36 PM
I forgot to say that Jay and the kids had Wendy's for lunch(YIKES) and Pizza Hut for supper (OUCH) yesterday too. I still fought the urge. I knew I told you guys what I had planned and I just couldnt come back and say I messed up yet again. I also said Florida alot.

Here is a leaf peeper shot with my ugly mug in it.

10-12-2003, 08:48 PM
Here is me and Jay

10-12-2003, 08:50 PM
Here is one of me and the twins

10-12-2003, 08:52 PM
And Brittany with the big starfish

10-12-2003, 08:58 PM
Hi Angie! Welcome back!
You are so pretty and your kids are adorable. I love the pic of you in the red shirt with the fall colors behind you. Great job staying OP! I knew you could do it. You are going to reach your goal for Florida. Well gotta go get some stuff done. Talk later or tomorrow guys! Julie

10-13-2003, 07:30 AM
Ciao Ladies,

Wow, what a weekend! My good friend, Lucia and her daughter Nicole, took me out to a fabulous italian restaurant and I had a blast! I am going to miss my italian friends so much. They are so thoughtful. i have one more lunch to go with another friend of mine and then I'm done with people feeding me!:chef: :hun: I also got an email from 2 of my buddies in Iraq who gave me a heartfelt goodbye that almosy brought me to tears. Just 4 more days until I fly into a new chapter in my life. And as a perfect end to my weekend, I am now into the 130's finally. 139 to be exact! I have an all new motivation and I'll need it once I no longer have access to a free gym :(

Okay, enough about me:

Angie- The pics are awesome! Brit looks just like you! That starfish picture is classic. And I must say that black is very slimming on you. Way to go on fighting temptation! This means I don't have to get on your *** this week :drill: lad you had a good time on your trip, you look very happy. I love your smile..might wanna have the hubby work on his though. :D

Noelle- Once again, I gotta give you props for being so brave and venturing into a new program to take charge of your fitness. By the way, how was the party?? I've never been to a luao before, I would love to go. In basic training, there was this girl from hawaii, Pvt. Medera (whom we affectionatly reffered to as Hawaii) who showed us how to do some of the traditional dances. What fun we had in our bay dancing around in our makeshift hula skirts! i guess the coolsest thing about the military is the exposure to other cultures. Anyways I hope you behaved yourself around all that good food :nono:

Cherie- My little trooper, how's it hangin'. It seems that you are the epitome of discipline. how have you done this weekend?Pretty good I would imagine, but i don't want to jinx you. I am really stuggling these day with my water intake. I twas so easy when it was hot, I had a bottle everywhere I went, now i have to make a conscious effort to get my ounces down. But I am trying to keep up with you so I am staying on track.

Julie- So did you get your walking in? Better enjoy it now befor it gets too cold. Not everyone can enjoy year round sun like Noeeelllle :sunny: :snooty: :sunny: Let us know how it's going.

Kempy- Hope your weekend hasn't been too stressful. Did you enjoy yourself?

Wow I almost forgot it was Columbus day today. The Italians don't celebrate it. Well i'm off to try to pass more time away. TTYL.

10-13-2003, 09:50 AM
Hey Everyone... well, it's Monday again. My Weekend was probably one of my worst ones yet. Didn't eat great... didn't eat really bad, but worse than I should have. Saturday, I didn't exercise at all... was a little blue about the scale, but it was mainly because I was dealing with a sick daughter. She had a fever, and started throwing up and just wanted to be held all day. My ex didn't make it in this weekend like he said he would, so there went any "me" time that I had planned. So, Saturday, I was a bum and did nothing but lazy around with Megan and watch football. Yesterday, I did manage to do one pilates tape, and 45 minutes on the treadmill, so it wasn't a totally wasteful weekend, however, I am still at 142.00. I didn't drink enough water this weekend, so I have already started this morning and will see if I can flush out a little bit of this extra weight that I am carrying. Today is a new commitment. I still have a week and a half before my goal of 138.00 will be here, when my friend comes in. I plan on staying OP and on track with my exercise all week long.

Dips.. Congrats on breaking through that 140 mark!!! That was where I was last week, when my weight decided to turn back the other way! Very frustating... but won't let it get me totally off track. Have fun your last week in Italy.... You will be home soon!

Angie.. WTG on staying OP all weekend long!!! That took some determination!!!! You will be where you want to be come Florida time! And BTW.. you look great already!!! Sounds like you had loads of fun! :-)

Julie.. you will love your scale... and as Angie mentioned... you will love it MOST of the time! hahaha... there are a few times it won't be so nice.... ;-) good luck this week!

Ok... Time for me to start this day..... This will be a great week! :-)

Everyone hope your weekend went well! Talk to you all soon!

10-13-2003, 10:54 AM
Good Morning!

Dips, It sounds like you had a fun weekend. Yeah Jay needs a little help with the smiling. He wasnt even looking at Brit either. He hates to have his pic taken so I had to force him.

Cherie, I hope Megan feels better. Good for you for getting in your exercise on Sunday though. I can feel your determination.

10-13-2003, 11:01 AM
My neighbors trees changed over the weekend. Here is how bright they are right now. I'll have to post a pic of how dead everything looks when the leaves are gone. YUCK!

10-13-2003, 12:08 PM
Goodmorning everyone!

Angie I don't want winter to come either. It was nice here this weekend so I just got a lawn chair out and sat in the sun. It is something how the sun can just lift your spirits. I am going to miss that so much. Love the neighbors trees, are those maples? They are my favorite.

Kempy hope your weekend was nice. And hope you can check in today when you have time!

Cherie sounds like a rough weekend. I think you did great for getting one tape in for how busy you were this weekend. You will get that scale moving down again don't worry.

Dips hi I did not get to much excercising in this weekend. But my eating was pretty much on track. Well except for Saturday night for the steak, buttermilk biscuits and cheese fries. Sorry if I made anyone have cravings:o ! I know I know really bad. I am really going to try and cut down on the bad carbs and see if the scale starts moving. Enjoy your last days in Italy!

Noelle any good cook outs this weekend? I bet you stayed within your point range though.

Check in later! Julie

10-13-2003, 12:24 PM
Angie I love the pics. It really looked like you guys had a fun time. Did you son pout this time? I wish we had such dramatic changes in our leaves here they are so beautiful. We do have a little bit of a change but nothing that awesome.

I think I may have to go out and buy a scale. I am tired of not knowing what is going on with me. I just know one thing my pants fit terribly. I am not going to bore you with all of the bad details of how I am feeling but it is not happy.

10-13-2003, 04:35 PM
Kempy, I am sorry that you are feeling down. I wished I could make you feel better. You have been doing great. Just keep doing what you are doing and you will see improvements.{{{{{Kempy}}}}}

No amazingly enough Corey didnt pout this time. I am surprised too. The ride away was only like an hour and a half so he probably didnt have time to work up to it though. Dont worry though they are all home this week on school vacation and he is making up for it. LOL

Back to work!!! TTYL

10-13-2003, 04:36 PM
Happy Monday everyone. Had a good weekend despite eating a bit much. I did well at the Saturday birthday luau though. I stayed away from the kalua pig (drowning in it's own fat) and laulau, and had the lomi salmon, which is a cold salad type dish with salted salmon, tomatoes and onions, the raw fish poke (po-kay) and chicken long rice :T. I had some purple sweet potato and a small piece of coconut haupia for dessert instead of the cake so that satisfied my sweet tooth. Yesterday was a bit harder but I ate nowhere near as much as I would have before so it's not a complete loss. I used 10 of my flexpoints (over and above my alotted daily points) and I have a total of 35 for the week so I didn't do an all out splurge--thank goodness! This week will be one of staying on track and walking my butt off.

Angie those pics are beautiful (even if you are married to the grinch  ) You look marvelous and your kids are mirror images of you and Jay--except I can see that Corey smiles..? hehe. Love the vibrant color of the leaves--I'm jealous. Hey, congrats on your loss!!!

Julie, I bought a new digital scale about a week ago too--I didn't want to admit though, because I already have 2 others :^: . One is going in the trash and the other is the old, rusty dial one that I've had for over 10 years and I can't seem to part with. True what the others have said about loving the scale for the most part--this is just another one of my love/hate relationships. ;)

Cherie, hope your little one is feeling much better today. Hope you can carve out some "me" time for you this week. You did what you could this weekend and sounds to me like you did good. Go get that goal.

Dips, wow congrats on hitting the 130's! Getting to eat all those great Italian foods and still lose weight. I'm sure you're working doubly hard at the gym and you earned that loss. So close to going home too, I'm getting excited for you. I'm sure Pvt. Medera liked the name "Hawaii" better than my hubby liked his nickname "Pineapple" . And for the record, the only time I have EVER danced the hula was in 9th grade P.E. class--and didn't have to wear a grass skirt neither!

((((Kempy)))) Hugs girlfriend! Hang in there!

Holly, woo-hoo! You too, shrinking away. Maybe because you had a few higher calorie days made your metabolism kick up a notch. Congrats on your loss! :)

Gotta get some work done. I'll be back later. Hello to everyone else  .

10-13-2003, 05:00 PM
Aloha all,

I am a new member here, and Noelle invited me join your forum. Thanks so much Noelle for your encouraging posts. I was really down and out last week. I am really glad I found this site. A little bit about myself; my name is Jacqueline, but people call me Jacks for short. I am 24 years old and live in Hawaii. I work at a non-profit organization here in Honolulu in Public Policy. This same time last year I weighed about 130 pounds and wore a size 6/8. Since meeting my fiancee, I have put on what feels like 100 pounds (I'm too scared to weigh myself) and can't fit in any of my clothes in my closet. I am in deep denial because I keep telling myself that I am going to lose the weight and so I don't go shopping for new clothes. I guess that's a way of punishing myself as well. My goal is to lose as much weight as I can before I go back to my hometown in California this Christmas. The last time my family saw me, was when I graduated last spring and I was kind of pudgy, but not too bad but they were making fun of my butt! Let's see, I've joined a gym, but have only gone to it twice. I am way too tired to go after work, but I know that it's just the motivation. My fiancee is a chef, and I used to be vegetarian, but since meeting him, I've crossed over to the dark side. I mostly behind a computer 8-10 hours a day, with constant access to snacks. I try to control my eating, but it just doesn't seem to work. I think I just need a slap in the face and I need to know where to start! So, if you could give me some advice to help jumpstart my diet and help me get back on track, it would be most appreciated. Thanks so much for allowing me to vent out my frustrations!!! :?:

10-13-2003, 05:16 PM
:cb: Eh Jacks, Howzit! Oh, excuse the pidgin english  . Glad you found us. Finally someone in my time zone! Man oh man I feel for you having a fiance that can whip up delicious meals--he MUST be good chef for having 'converted' you from vegetarianism. (is that a word?) First of all I have to say that you shouldn't feel pressured to lose weight because of your family. Do it for you. Even though their words hurt you you have to find the motivation to do this within yourself. I'm sure they're unaware of the pain you feel about the comments. Maybe just tell them how you feel and ask if they can support you in your efforts to lose weight, to encourage you instead of bring you down. How 'bout your fiance? I'm sure he's loving you the way you are or he wouldn't be your fiance. Maybe he can create reduced fat versions of his regular recipes for you. Bring your own low-fat snacks to work--I bring non-fat yogurt and fresh fruit, maybe some vegetable sticks and a low-fat dressing...if you're working in the downtown area I'm sure you could do some walking for exercise during part of your lunch hour, or offer to run errands for the company instead of staying in front of the computer all day (God only knows how I always volunteered to get out of my office  ) . Maybe the other gals here can offer more suggestions.

Sorry to be so long-winded. I'm just happy you found us and decided to come and play.

10-13-2003, 05:47 PM
Hey Jacks! Good to see another to our little group. AS you soon shall see we offer more that just weight lose support. I vent to these guys everything that happens to me. It really helps to have someone that can help think things through a little differently that I can. Like Noelle said be sure that you are doing this for yourself not anyone else. I could see how having a chief in the house would be bad.

Noelle I relaly need to win that BB trip so I can go out there to eat that wonderful food you talk baout. I can honestly say I have never heard of half of the stuff you talk about but I would love to try it.

Angie why are the kids off of school? The kids around here are off for Columbus day. I really wish I cold take off for all of these holidays too but I would never work. hehe I kind of like that idea.

10-13-2003, 06:40 PM
Thank you so much ladies for your encouraging words. Noelle - I know I shouldn't let what my families says get to me. Actually I don't, it just annoys me. I am going to do this for myself [so I can save money on not having to buy new clothes! :) ] Kempy - I'm glad I can vent about anything, these obstacles in life is what leads me to emotional eating and my weight gain. Thanks again for your support. I'm going to take your advice Noelle and go walking now!

10-13-2003, 06:50 PM
Kempy, Our school starts a little earlier then the other schools in the area and they have it worked out so the kids get a week off every 6 weeks. YEAH!!! (can ya feel my enthusiasm? )

Jacks, You sound so much like me when I first came here. I am a baker for a living so I can totally understand all the yummy foods. Luckily for me for the most part I have to cook the sweets every day so I dont usually crave them (too often, but sometimes I go on a little binge with the brownies* those are my favorites*) but since the bakery is in my yard then when I want sweets that i dont make all the time the ingredients are always available. that one has been hard to deal with lately. I agree with everyones advice, do it for you and noone else but you.

Noelle, Your luau sounds so good!!! I am with Kempy, one of us had better win the BB contest so we can come visit and EAT!!! You sound like you did very well this weekend. I am proud of you.

Dips, I almost forgot!!! CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You finally got out of the 140's. YEAH!!!!!!

10-13-2003, 08:34 PM
Welcome Jacks! Another lady from paradise. I would just love to go to Hawaii someday. No snow, no cold weather and mostly sunny days! Good luck on your weight loss journey. This is a great place to come for support on that issue and just to talk about everything.

Noelle my mouth is watering thinking about that pork and those purple sweet potatoes. I love sweet potatoes. I saw a luau on food TV and the food looked so fresh and delicious. I also am a coconut addict. I love it toasted and put on pancakes with blueberries or strawberries. Or on top of yogurt! My husband actually applied for a police officer position in Honolulu several years back. But I believe you had to be a resident there for 6 months to a year?

Dips congrats on the loss! Good job on all your hard work!

Angie I wanted to tell you, your hair looks good are you going to hold out until your hairdresser comes back?

Take care and Hello to everyone else. Julie:)

10-13-2003, 08:36 PM
Ciao Ladies,

I'm posting at 1am central european time because I know I won't have a moment once my day really starts. Thia has been the Loooongest weekend. i actually ate good at the last italian restaurant. Italians really do make healthy dishes with the exception of their desserts, but hey that's everybody. I also realized that there are hardly any fast food places, all their foods are hoem grown and there are no all-you-can-eat-buffets, hmmm, maybe there's a reason why they are thinner than us americans.

anyways now for my personal messages:

Jacks- Welcome to the crew. I't cool to have someone closer to my age. i don't feel like such a baby anymore. I hope you find a system that works well with your busy lifestyle. A fiance for a chef, wow! That's another roadblock but one thing's for sure, you have a great support group right here! good luck.

Angie- Thanx a bunch, nut i'll feel a lot more secure when I'm further away from the 139-140 borderline. I'm begining to think I should've kept my mouth shut until like 137 or lower but I was so excited. We'll see what happens.

Noelle you are a funny gal. Pineapple? What was the significance, I'm dying to know!

Well I have a fast paced day ahead of me so I have to get to bed now. Hello to all the gals I missed in this post and I'll check in whenever I can.

10-14-2003, 09:42 AM
Good Morning!

Julie, I am going to try to hold out until she comes back for my hair. I just trimmed my bangs and top myself so i should be okay for a few weeks. I dont really want to let anyone else do it because she has always done it. Is your husband a police officer now?

Dips, Hey girl. You were up late(or early). Dont worry girl you have great discipline, you will be able to stay under the 140 mark.I know what you mean though. I stepped on the scales this morning and saw a pretty good loss but I dont want to jynx it so I will wait until it sticks around for a few days until I say what it is.

Kempy, Your member who just came back from Maine, was his name Mark D by any chance? There is a guy from your town that posts on the RV forums and I wondered if that was him. That would be wierd, huh?

I got to thinking when Kempy mentioned our one year anniversary last week. I weighed 206.5 pounds at this time last year!!! I guess even when I feel like I am losing at this weightloss battle I have to stop and think that even though I am not doing great I am still alot less than I used to be. I just hope I can keep the fluctuations alittle smaller then they have been in the past....265.5 pounds to 130 pounds to 206.5 pounds to now.

The RV is going in to be winterized tomorrow. BOOHOO!! but on the plus side 10 weeks until I have 12 whole days off without having to even think about the donuts!! First time in 7 years.

10-14-2003, 09:55 AM
Hey Everyone. Sorry I didn't check in last night... time just got away from me. Lots of stuff got negeligected at my home last night.. laundry, dishes.... etc. :-) I did however, get in my exercise. Priorities right?? ;)

My 5 year old is about to lose her first tooth!!! She told me this weekend her teeth were hurting, but I really didn't think much about it until yesterday after school when I picked her up and she started wiggling it for me.... Made me quesy!!!!!!! Looked in her mouth last night, and she already has another tooth coming in through the back behind it!! And it's a BIG tooth!!! Oh my... Anyway... gotta find some tooth fairy money! :-)

Scale is slowly going back down. I am only a half pound more than what I was on Thursday, so it's going back down.... I just want to break that 140 mark as well! :-)

Angie... you have come a very long way!! Wow.. I am so impressed! You are doing a great job!

Dips... not long now!!! You will be home so soon! :-) And you will keep losing! We've got faith in you!

Jacks WELCOME!!!! I just found this group about a month and a half ago, and they are a great bunch of women!!!

Noelle... congrats on your great weekend.. that luau sounded delicious!!!

Kempy ((((((((((HUGS))))))))))) hope you start feeling better!

Hi Julie!!! Hope you have a great day!

Ok.... Time for me to get busy with work!! Staying on track here and just taking it one day at a time!

10-14-2003, 12:09 PM
Hey guys, I feel a little better today. Iam trying to keep myself positive with saying good things over and over in my head. I just hope that I can keep it up. I am working on taxes from 2001 today. I got a letter in themail saying that they were wrong and that we owe almost $1000. :fr: I am trying my hardest to fight it. I don't agree with them but you know how the IRS can be. I don't want to get myself into trouble so I am just going to shut up now.

Cherie I used to love when I would lose a tooth. I would love the way they felt when they wiggled. I know I am strange. :dizzy: By the way I really liek the line in your sig. That is one of my favortie movies.

Angie the members are Gordon and Janice so I don't think it is who you chat with. That would have been neat though. What does it mean that the RV is getting winterized? You have really come a long way in a year.

Dips I am so happy for you coming home. I bet you are so ready to head to the states. Although not having the foods aroud that we have is great. I don't think I would want to leave that.

Julie is it getting cold up there? Thanks for the PM's yesterday. It really helps to talk sometimes.

Where is the rest of the group hiding?

10-14-2003, 12:15 PM
Hey everyone

Angie no he is not he always wanted to though. I guess at the time where he applied you needed just a BA not a speicific degree in criminal science. You know Angie you should be so proud of yourself for as far as you come. I think your right about maintaining and losing instead of going up alot.

Sorry don't have alot of time right now but Hello to everyone!

10-14-2003, 12:21 PM
Hi Kempy you must have posted at the same time as me.:) Oh my goodness $1000, hopefully you guys can work that out!
Yes it is starting to get cold here. Its is suppose to rain on and off today:( . Blah....
And you are so welcome! Take care Sweetie!

10-14-2003, 12:42 PM
$1000.00 YIKES! I hope you guys can get that fixed. Is it you and Joe or the gym? Arent I nosey? We have to get antifreeze run through all the water lines in the RV so the water doesnt freeze and bust the pipes open. We will have to have it done as soon as we get back from Florida again too. We are also getting the roof re caulked because it was leaking in a corner this week. We want to fix it before it does any major damage.

Julie, I had been focusing so much on the fact that all summer I just couldnt get on track until kempy mentioned our one year anniversary and it clicked in my head as to how unhappy I was last year at this time. It is strange how things like that happen but it made me think. I am comfortable(for the most part) now and have actually made a nice little loss of63 pounds so I guess I havent done too bad. Now for a tummy tuck and I would be happy with my body. I know I would look really tiny if i could have all that skin removed but I dont have $4000.00 this year. I will really try to get it done next year though. My stomache looks like a kangaroo pouch. yuck

I have to go get some work done. I'll check back later. Have a good day.

10-14-2003, 01:05 PM
That is ok Anige I don't think you are nosey. It is for Joe and I. Isn't that terrible? I never knew that wold ahve to be done to and RV. I guess there is up keep just like in a house.

I just blew up at my boss about just about everyone that works here. I left stuff for them to do over the weekend. I wanted it done not when and if they got around to it. It still havsn't been done, so I am having to do it myself. Why in the world are they even here if they aren't going to do what they are supposed to do. It didn't even leave anythign hard it was just a few phone calls to members that have credit cards expiring this month. How hard is that? I know he wont do anythign he never does but it was just stewing inside of me and it came out before I could stop it. Boy I can't wait to finish school and be my own boss.

10-14-2003, 01:41 PM
Angie I would love a tummy tuck I also got the bulge in the lower tummy for having two little ones. It really is something how you look back in life and think about what emotional state you were in and how were feeling at that time. I think my emotions change every darn year:lol: !

Kempy GOOD FOR YOU for standing up for yourself!

10-14-2003, 03:40 PM
Hey what is everybody making for dinner tonight? I might make a hamburger casserole.

10-14-2003, 04:26 PM
Aloha everyone!

I justed wanted to say thank you again for all of your support yesturday. It gave me enough motivation to go to the gym!!! Amazing...I never thought I could do it! I was able to ward off the midnight munchies too. I'm proud of myself...I just hope I can do the same thing today.

It's funny that everyone is talking about what to make for dinner tonight. I haven't even had breakfast yet! Talk about real time difference.

Kempy - I know what you mean about people at work not doing their thing. That's so annoying, especially when you're stuck with it. It's good that you spoke to your boss about it. I'm the type that doesn't say anything and I don't even ask them anymore...it's just faster when I do it.

Dips - I was in Italy last summer. I stayed in Florence and tried to learn Italian. Where in Italy are you staying? I love the food there. Funny thing though, when I went, I never gained any weight. It's only when I came back home I packed on the pounds.

Angie - Wow...63 pounds. You should be real proud of yourself. Man, if I was a baker...I don't think I would leave my bakery!!! I love brownies too!

Noelle - I would love it if Kelly (my Fiancee) would cook lowfat versions of his recipes...unfortunately to him low fat means "doesn't taste good". I went to Macy's yesturday b/c they were having a big sale and got him a couple of shirts which ended up not fitting him. I think he clued in on the fact that he needs to lose weight too.

Happy Tuesday to everyone!

:) Jacks

10-14-2003, 05:29 PM
Joe called me and wants to have sushi for dinner tonight. I am going to be sure and stay away from the soy sauce, even if it is low sodium.

Jacks good for you! I am glad that you made it to the gym yesterday. Now don't you feel so much better? Sometimes is takes slapping a man in the face for them to realize that they need to change. I totally understand that one.

Well, I talked to the IRS and I am still just as lost if not more. Who in the world trains those people? I will get it under control though.

10-14-2003, 06:45 PM
Kempy, I hope you get the IRS thing straightened out. That would bug me. You will love being your own boss. It is so much nicer to be able to do things when you want to and not have to answer to too many people.

Jacks, You are so pretty. I like your leighs(sp). Congrats on getting to the gym yesterday.

Julie, I am having fat free hotdogs and baked fries tonight. I love those hot dogs. I usually split one right down the middle and put half on two buns.

Kempy, enjoy your sushi tonight.

10-14-2003, 11:50 PM
Hey everyone... just finished with my ellipitical work... and I am tired. I weighed this morning, and in the past 7 days.... I have not lost anything. I am at the same weight I was last Tuesday... so.. I guess I am stuck in a plateau. Seem like every 5 pounds I hit a wall, and get stuck there for a little while.... Now I am tired of being stuck! ;)

All of your dinners sounded great! I just had a bowl of cereal.. wasn't in the mood to cook anything.

Jacks hope you had a great day today! I understand about the time difference. I had training back in August and one of the guys there was from Hawaii... and he was always zoned out first thing in the morning. We are like 6 hours ahead of you... I felt so sorry for him all week.

Kempy.. I hope you get everything straightened out with the IRS. I've had my own run ins before with them and it took a lot of time to get things settled. Good Luck.

Hi Julie.. Hope you are doing great today!

Ok.. well, I am about to go to bed.. I will catch up with everyone tomorrow!

10-15-2003, 09:39 AM
Good Morning...

You know that plateau I was talking about??? Still on it.

Ok.. that was my small frustration of the morning. I'm over it. And I will continue to work out and stay OP. I have a week to get two pounds off to get to my goal. Sigh... Last week, I had TWO WEEKS to get to my goal of losing two pounds... Oh well... breathe... and keep working right???

Well, I hope everyone has a great morning. I have a slight headache that I went to bed with. I've already taken some advil for it and hopefully since I've had breakfast it will go away.

I will check in later... otherwise have a great Wednesday and Make it Count! :-)

10-15-2003, 10:49 AM
Were do we stand on our monthly goals???? My goal was to lose 9 pounds. So far, I am down 5. 4 more to go! How is everyone else doing on what they set out to do this month?

10-15-2003, 10:51 AM
Good Morning. We just went and dropped off the RV at the rv place. The bill should make my hair stand on end when they are done.

It is raining and windy here and it still looks like 6:00 in the morning it is so dark. I hate days like this.

Cherie, hang in there and the scales will move again. You have been doing everything you can. I think you are awesome!

Well, that is about it for me so far today. I'll check back later.

10-15-2003, 10:54 AM
As far as this morning my scales said I am at 142.5 so that puts me at a loss of 2.5 pounds so far. I'll take that considering I havent lost that much all summer. I would like to see 140 even by the end of the month. Then 135 by the end of November and Hopefully(fingers crossed) I can hit 130 by the time we go to Florida.

10-15-2003, 10:55 AM
Cherie, How is your daughter feeling? I hope she is doing better. I know how hard it is with a sick child.

10-15-2003, 11:06 AM
Hey guys! Not much movement on the thread last night huh? Joe and I went and had sushi but I couldn't stay away from the soy sauce. So, now I am I paying for it. Oh well, it is my own fault. I am just drinking lots of water so that I can flush some of this out.

We went looking for costums for me after dinner but I couldn't find anything to fit me. All of the costums out there are sized for a woman who is no bigger than a 8. They say they go from 10-14 but they lie. I held up one of them to my hips and there was no wya in **** it was going to fit. So, I think I am going to go look for a pattern and have my bosses mom make it for me. That way it will fit me perfect and be made of better quality material than the ones we saw last night.

Not much else to report yet but I will be back soon.

10-15-2003, 11:13 AM
This is it!!

I fly out in less than 24 hours. The next you'll hear from me will be from the east coast!!

10-15-2003, 11:37 AM
Kempy, Are you going to a Halloween Party or just going trick or treating? What are you going to be?

Dips, YEAH!!!!!! Have a safe flight and a great time in Florida!!! We will miss ya while you are gone.

10-15-2003, 12:19 PM
We are trying to get a bunch of couples to gether and go bar hopping. We all have to dress up though. We are going to try to rent a limo so that no one has to drive. I have no idea what to do. Every costume that I like doesn't come in my size. It makes me feel bad, if you know what I mean. It is almost like they are telling me that I am too fat so I can't wear somethings that cute.

10-15-2003, 12:52 PM
Hi Girls

Kempy one year I made a costume, I went to the fabric store bought some lepard print fabric made it so I could tie it up on one shoulder and wear it knee length and cut it jagged at the bottom. Under it I wore black nylons and a long sleeve black leotard. For shoes you could wear black heels or I found some bear slippers, they were fuzzy brown with claws. Maybe this is something you might like? It was pretty inexpensive and not hard to make. :) Oh by the way I was a cave woman! Hey maybe you could make Joe a matching one! And you guys could go as cavewife and cavehusband:lol: !!!!

Dips have a great trip back to the states. We will all be thinking of you!

Congrats on the loss Angie! 130 sounds so great. I remember when I weighed that. I don't know if I am talking to soon but the scale said I had lost 2 pounds. Oh well I will have to see if the scale stays that way or goes back up.

Cherie my monthly goal is to maintain and not go up. But being hopeful I would love to lose 5lbs.

Gotta run. Hello to everyone. Julie

10-15-2003, 02:39 PM
Kempy, I like Julie's idea. You two would look so cute as a cave couple. If you do it I had better get some pics. It sounds like so much fun! I cant believe it is on a Friday this year. The last time that happened we actually had some kids knock on our door really early the next morning and say trick or treat for candy. I wanted to strangle them. We will have to see if it happens this year. (It would probably be my kids idea now!! haha)

Julie, that is exactly what I do. I never want to say a loss until it has stuck around for a few days to make sure I wasn't dreaming it. hehe

My pee break is over so I guess I had better get back to work before Jay has it all done by himself

10-15-2003, 04:30 PM
Good Morning everyone...sounds funny since its afternoon on the east coast. My body is so sore from working out yesturday. I had to get help stretching out last night. This morning I did some yoga to try and stretch out my body. I hope to get to work out again today, but I have back to back meetings until 8:00.

Thanks Angie! Oh and it's actually spelled Leis. When I first moved here I got all the names wrongs. Since I look local, people laugh at me b/c they think I'm from here. It's raining here too!

Cherie, I heard if you do more strength training it will help you move off the plateau. I was the same way last year for about 3 months. I increased the weight on my strength training and did more reps. It helped.

Kempy, bar hopping as cave people sounds like fun! Don't even want to think about halloween. All that candy!

Dips - Have a safe flight!

Hi Julie!!!

Okay, bye for now. Have a great rest of the day! :smug:

A hui hou,

10-15-2003, 08:26 PM
I only got in 1.5 miles today. It has been raining with major winds and just plain nasty out so when we got a break in the rain we squeezed in a short walk. I told Jay to get some marshmallows for smores. WHY did I do that? Maybe I will just eat one and stop there to satisfy my craving but as soon as I said it I felt bad and of course he already went uptown to the store. I dont really want to risk a gain since I am doing so well. I do have a couple hundred calories banked for the day so it should be alright. I will do some weights tonight too.

Kempy, does this sound like enough weights? I do the leg one(where you sit and lift your legs up and you feel it on the top) 60 times a day with 30 pounds Then I lay down on the bench and do the same thing for the backs of my legs with 15 pounds for 60 times and I do the butterfly with 20 pounds of weight on each arm 60 times a day. I am not sure how much I should be doing.

10-15-2003, 09:10 PM
Hey Guys
Angie I don't think you should feel bad about the smores. If I deprive myself then sometime I eat everything in sight! You are doing so well. Keep it up!

10-15-2003, 09:13 PM
Happy Hump day everyone. I was in lurking mode yesterday and didn't get a chance to post...I'm went shopping at the Pearl Harbor Navy Exchange w/my dad an sister this morning (snuck away from work :sssh: ) and am just getting into my office now (1:46 p.m.) . I'm doing pretty well today, I bought more fresh fruits and veggies at the commissary so I'm set for the rest of the week. Oh yeah, good news I hope...I sent a certified letter to the other dog owner and the homeowner regarding getting reimbursement for vet bills incurred for the dog fight. I got a call from their homeowner's insurance carrier to clarify the situation. Hopefully we'll be getting somewhere and soon! :dancer:

Cherie, I don't think I actually set a goal--as lazy as I am--but I think my goal was not to gain anymore than I already have. You have done wonderfully! Totally an inspiration for all of us to get off our butts and move.

Kempy, I had sushi yesterday too. I don't know if the sodium bloats me up because I eat it all the time. I'm drinking well over 100 oz of water per day, almost approaching a gallon sometimes I think. Good luck on the costume planning! I totally know what you mean about finding costumes larger than an 8! Fahgeddaboutit! Make your own, it'll be more unique.

Angie, sorry to hear your weather's been crappy. We've been having a lot of rain but it's still hot here. I've been good about walking every evening so far, but I just have to leave earlier and earlier since it gets darker sooner. Hey, good job on using your weight bench! :cp:

Hey Jacks. I really like your new avatar. See girls? That's the "Hawaiian style" graduation with all the leis piled high around your neck. Sometimes so high you can't even see the person's face. And yes Jacks you DO look local  . Isn't it great being able to just blend in? I love all the different cultures here. WOOHOO on getting your motivation back--see how great these girls are?

Julie, congrats on the vanishing 2 lbs! :high:

Dips, have a safe trip home!!!! We'll be thinking of you and welcoming you back to American soil.

Whew, I need to get my payroll done, it's only 2.5 hours til quittin' time  .

Hello to everyone else. Lurkers should post too :D

**almost forgot, it was my sister's 43rd b-day yesterday and I found her piggy bank that says "Face Lift Fund" I though it was funny and fitting!

10-15-2003, 09:23 PM
Hey everyone!!! I've had a great day of staying OP and exercising. I will top it off by doing my ellpitcal work later tonight after the girls go to bed.

Noelle.... I do payroll too! :-) What fun jobs we have. People either love us or hate us! ;)

Angie.. Julie is right.. do deprive yourself... just remember moderation!! You are doing a great job. When is the Florida trip?

Jacks... yeah, you hurt.. but doesn't it feel GREAT??? It's that good kind of hurt, where you know you have accomplished something great for your body.. keep it up!!

Kempy.. your Halloween plans sound like fun!!! Can't wait to see what you end up going as!

Dips good luck and be safe!!! See you stateside!!!

Ok.. almost time to get the girlies into bed.. I have a good feeling about tomorrow and my love affair with the scales! ;) Will keep ya posted!

Have a great night!

10-15-2003, 11:43 PM
Cherie I think you meant don't? Thats what I meant to Angie;) In the past if I deprived myself I would eat a whole bag of chips:^: !!!! Keep up the great work Cherie! You keep us all motivated to excercise. You are so determined!:) Julie

10-15-2003, 11:58 PM
Hehe.. DON'T deprive yourself Ang!!!!! What can I say.. I'm tired! ;)

Have a great night everyone!

10-16-2003, 09:38 AM
It's Thursday!!! I am so ready for the weekend! :-) Well.. I was right on my hunch yesterday... I FINALLY broke out of the 140's as of this morning, and now I am going to continue to work like crazy to make sure I don't relapse and go back!!!! GOOD RIDDANCE I say! :-) I am one pound a way from my first goal, and three away from my monthly goal... so I will be really trying hard to get those off by Halloween! :-) What a great treat that would be!

Ok.. Hope everyone has a great day... I will be in training all day, so I will check back tonight!

10-16-2003, 10:24 AM
I had the smores. I calculated it and 2 smores with 2 graham crackers,1 marshmallow(cut in half) and 2 squares of chocolate are 180 calories so I ate them and enjoyed them and then I stopped! Holy Cow! That is my hard part is stopping when I start. So I had to step on the scales this morning to see if they did any damage and the scales said 141.5. That is 1 pound less then yesterdays said. I will wait to see if it hangs around until Saturday before I make it official though. If it does then that means I only have 3 more pounds to lose and I will be back to what I weighed back in June.

Noelle, I love it. Facelift Fund. My moms 50th birthday is this summer and we are going to give her an over the hill party. We had so much fun doing dad's this year. I have already got a ton of gag gifts picked out for her. My sis turns 30 in April so maybe I will have to do that for her too.

I was wondering where you were yesterday. Good Luck with the guys insurance. They will make him kill his dog if they have to pay a claim. You would think he cared enough about his dogs that he would have paid the money without having to get his insurance involved.I had a dog aggressive German Shepard once. He would have killed another dog if he could have gotten to them but he LOVED people and cats. I just made sure he never got near another dog. Some people just shouldnt have animals. How is Kai doing? Is he scared of strange dogs now? Poor baby.

Cherie, I knew what you meant. We are leaving for Florida on December 23 or 24th. We arent sure just yet when we can get away from our accounts to leave. They all gotta have their donuts right up to the last minute ya know.

YEAH CHERIE!!!! You finally broke the plateau. You are doing an awesome job and you DO inspire us all!

10-16-2003, 10:39 AM
Good morning guys!

Angie about the weights, I think you should go up on the amount that you lift and do 3 stes of 12-15 each. You want to be tired by the time you hit 15. What sucks is that you can't spot reduce so you are going to need to tone up all over not just in your legs. I know it sucks to hear that but it is unfourtunatly true.

Noelle do you really think the insurance company would make the guy put his dog down if they have to pay for the claim? Do you and Jacks live on the same island?

Cherie you go girl! You are just a workout machine. I relly need to follow your lead and get back into the groove. I seemed ot have lost it again. I told my hubby thought that I want to break down and buy a scale. Maybe if it is in my bathroom I will be a little more careful what I am doing.

We are going to another DU banquet tonight. This one is in another parish though. We went to see what the do at theirs that is different from ours. This should be fun, being able to sit back and enjoy it instead of having to work it.

10-16-2003, 10:51 AM
What should I be using for a weight? The butterfly one does hurt(I am a wimp. ) I have never understood lifting so what is a rep? Do I do 15 and then move to another thing and come back and do another 15 or what? I am so clueless.

When we had to go through Rebel's bite I checked my homeowners insurance and they said if they had to pay out a claim then they would pay the claim but the dog had to be euthanized. Sad huh? Especially when they came into my house while noone was inside but the dog(after I said stay out of the house because Rebel is in there)I would have went bankrupt to pay any claim myself before I would let anyone kill my baby.

Your banquet tonight sounds a little more realxing for you two. Have fun.

10-16-2003, 11:36 AM
Sorry Angie, when you sit on the bench and lift your legs that is called a leg extension. I would increase the weight to 35 since you are doing 30 for 60 reps(times). When you do your 12-15 wait for about 30 sec. to 1 min and then do another 12-15. Repeat this 3 times. If you are not feeling this in your legs increase the weight by about 5 lbs. When you lay down on the bench that is called leg curls. (this works your hamstrings) follow the same rules as above. I would start out at 20 lbs instead of 15. Did that help a little? I forget that I have been doing this for over 10 years and that not eveyone knows what I am talking about.

10-16-2003, 11:42 AM
Thanks. Now I get it. I tried to increase the weights a minute ago and I do feel it better. Maybe I can build a little muscle and it will help burn calories quicker, right? I have to start doing crunches because i need to build up my stomach muscles before I can do a tummy tuck. I guess it helps to have muscles there for the surgery. Thanks you are the best!!

10-16-2003, 11:51 AM
I have found that muscle and fitness hers is a really good weight training mag. I pull out all of the different exercises that they have each month and keep them in a binder so that I can look to see if there are any news ones that I can try once I am tired of doing to same thing over and over. You really need to change up your routine ever 6 weeks, at least a little bit. They even have a section of things that you can do at home if you don't have all of the right stuff for the exercises. Just be careful not to read the articals for weight lose pills. They are just big advertisements. I found that out after I wasted my time reading it and at the end they were trying to push a certain product. I guess if the advertiser pays them enough they have to do it that way. Sneaky!

10-16-2003, 12:19 PM
I just did some tummy crunches and my cat decided that my stomach would make a nice comfy place to lay down so here I am with a fluffy himalayan sleeping on my stomach while I am trying to work out. It was too cute because he sleeps with his tongue out so I had to laugh.

10-16-2003, 03:15 PM
Angie Ehco like to try to lay on me when I get down on the floor too. I guess she figures that I am down on her turf so he is going to take advantage of it. They are cute arent they.

10-16-2003, 03:26 PM
Echo looks like a big cuddler. Does she sleep in bed with you guys too? Rebel has to be in between us using our pillows and he likes to be covered up during the winter. Candi sleeps behind the toilet in my master bath. This way she is close but she is cooler. She pants alot with all of her fur. During the winter she likes to lay on the deck and look in the sliding doors at while we watch tv.

10-16-2003, 05:09 PM
She likes to be in the bed when we let her. She is so big though it is uncomfortable. That is funny about Cappie. When it is cold outside I have to push the cats out of the door. They hate it. Did you get that cat e-mail I sent you?

If I look good in my outfit for tonight I will get Joe to take a pic of me for you guys. I think I am going to wear a skirt. That in and of itself is a strange thing.

10-16-2003, 08:10 PM
Hey everyone! Boy, you have been busy posting since I have been gone! I probably can't catch up with all personal messages, but, will do my best. I have been doing really bad with food this week, and it is TOM. Our family life has just been really stressful lately. I bought a new WATP tape, it's the 4 mile express, and have been doing it once a day, and later the 2 mile if I have it in me. I am hoping to get back on track by Monday.

Beautiful pictures! You are very pretty. The fall colors are amazing! Great job on the weight loss. I need a kick in the pants to get myself back in gear. I too wish I could have a tummy tuck, after having 3 kids I have the pouch as well, ick. I read somewhere that if you don't tone up muscles while losing weight (crunches, etc.), and have that skin, it can be toned up, but, will take 6 months of training. Maybe Kempy knows something about this?

Great job on breaking 140!

Wow! $1,000 for taxes, ouch, I hope you can fix that! I would cry. I have to watch my sodium intake as well. I never had to before because I had low blood pressure, but, my latest bp was 140/80, which is REALLY high for me. Might explain why my rings are so tight!

Hi to Noelle, Julie, Dips, Jack (and welcome :) ), everyone else!

10-16-2003, 08:20 PM
Kempy, The cat thing was so true!! I think my cats do all of that and then some.

Holly, There is no toning up my skin. I have so much of it that you can tell even with jeans on. That is why I dont get pics of my lower stomach, it is such a wreck. My sis needs an operation next month and she may have to have the full incision instead of the little ones. I am interested to see how she does if she has to have the big incision, she can tell me how badly it hurts and then I can assume how bad a tummy tuck would feel. I hope your stresses leave soon. I know how hard it is to be concerned with dieting when you have other things to worry about. We are here for you.

10-16-2003, 09:40 PM
Hey everyone  My days just seem to get more hectic. I feel like I'm a "runner" for Rick...he 'forgets' a saw, or drain cleaning cable, I bring it to him. Today it's an estimate that was supposed to get out "yesterday" and a stop at the plumbing supply house for parts. The good thing is that I can leave my office whenever I want. The bad thing is that I can leave my office whenever I want. He always seems to need something when I actually try to sit down and do some work! On the plus side though, I usually incorporate a trip to the mall or some nearby store after I'm done with the delivery. You know, I would love to hire someone to do this office work, then I could jump in a company truck and just drive and deliver parts and tools and make pick-ups and stuff...just drive and not have to do paperwork  . Yeah right! Think I'll hit Ross' Dress for Less on my way back.

Kempy, thanks for the info. I guess I should start getting in on the weight lifting workouts too. Ricks weight bench setup is collecting dust outside. I don't exactly know how to change all the pins and stuff to utilize the different parts of the equipment and I'm afraid I'll break something (like my nails--just kidding!) . I'll have to get him to teach me. Have fun at the banquet! Yes, Jacks and I live on the same island. We could probably very easily meet one another if we wanted--doesn't take more than 24-45 minutes w/out traffic to get anywhere here on this rock.

Angie, what can I say girl? You're inspiring me with your weight workout. :strong: I remember my cat would sleep on my treadmill and would give me a "stink eye" when I would want to use it  . As for Kai, he's healed really well. I don't know how long it'll take for his other veins to enlarge to compensate for the one that got sealed off. He barks his head off like crazy if he hears a strange dog come around our house--I think he's worse than before. That sucks too because we were just getting him to the point of normalcy on a walk. *sigh* We've been bringing Selena, my mom's chihuahua-terrier mix on our walks. She's our "protector and all of 7 lbs  .

Holly, how ya doin'? WATP seems to be a good workout--you can get your miles in without taking up too much time. Hope things start calming down for you. You can get back on that wagon, we're all rooting for you.

Cheri :cp: :cb: great job on hitting the 130's!!! WooHoo :high:
How was your training today?

Well, got to get my checks cut then I can goof off some more...

**I just got a call from the insurance company and the lady said they approved the claim for payment!!! We should get a check from the corporate office in Illinois within 2 weeks, just in time for our trip! Yahoo!!! $1200 coming back.

Hello to everyone else!

10-16-2003, 10:07 PM
Aloha girls!

Hope everyone's day is going well. As for mine - well, the stack of work piled up on my desk hasn't gone down since this morning. Pretty depressing actually. I keep getting sidetracked - checking emails, conversations with other people. It's frustrating. I can't seem to get focused. Hopefully tomorrow will be a more productive day.

Noelle - I always say *wow* everytime I pass by the commissary on the freeway. I've been on the bases on the mainland and the AFB here in Honolulu, but I haven't been to the commisary/navy exchange yet. Have to wait till my grandparents come back - my grandpa's a retired navy captain.

Cherie - Much congrats on breaking 140!

Angie/Kempy - I have a bunny that totally acts like a cat and a dog. He lays by me when I'm doing my crunches and starts to sniff my face. Then he starts jumping over me back and forth. He thinks it's a game.

Aloha Holly! Keep your spirits up!

Well - better be getting back to work. REALLY need to get back to being productive. The weekend is WAY to near!!! :comp:

10-16-2003, 10:26 PM
Dishes are done, laundry is in the washer and dryer, the toys are picked up, living room is straightened, now all I need ot do is my ellipitcal workout and I will be done for the night! :)

Jacks... I has Six Sigma training today, so all the work that was there stayed there, and more came in as I was away from my desk. I have two payrolls running on Monday and Tuesday.. so tomorrow will be crunch time for me!

Noelle, congrats on getting the Insurance to pay... Poor Kai though... having to go through all that. I hear you on the weight stuff. There are a few machines in my fitness room, but I don't know exactly how to use them to utilize them the best way. I guess I need to hit my neighbor up downstairs to come and show me.

Holly... great going on the WOTP tapes!!! You are doing a wonderful job!

Kempy I hope you had fun at the banquet tonight... Can't wait to see pictures!!! Hope you took some!

Angie... great job on starting with the strength training.. I really need to do that.. just haven't gotten around to it.

Ok everyone.. I am going to go do my last workout.. I will see you lovely ladies in the morning!

Goodevening everyone

Cherie doesn't it just feel great when the house is tidy and picked up? I need to get cracking on this place. Cherie I give you credit for doing so well working out. I just wish I could keep my motivation to excercise up! But on a postivie not I have been low carbing since Sunday after my Saturday night splurge. And I can feel my clothes getting baggy. I have not purchased the South Beach Diet book. But I kind of am just trying to keep my carbs low for two weeks like the book says. It actually has not been as hard as I thought. I week though I am going to reward myself with a little candy bar for Halloween:) .

Kempy hope you had a great time tonight. I also hope you can put some pics up.

Noelle that must be kind of nice to get out of the office and get some fresh air at work.

Angie good job getting some crunches in today. I did a couple of those and some leg lifts.

Jacks hope you have a better day tomorrow:) !

Holly hope family life gets a little easier for ya...life is just so hard sometimes. Hang in there.

Well guys my tummy is a little upset...I think it is from my vitamin...I don't think I had enough food in my stomach when I took it. So Goodnight and talk tomorrow. Julie

10-17-2003, 09:58 AM
It's Friday! Yeah!!!! It's my weekly pizza splurge night! YEAH!!! ;) I've already managed to do my pilates this morning.. and will do the rest of my exercising this afternoon.... so today WILL be a great day!

Julie... you can go to the South Beach Diet thread and view the FAQ thread and on there you can get a ton of info regarding Phase I and Phase II foods to eat and to avoid. You could probably get by without buying the book. I have mine loaned out right now... And regarding my motivation.... well... I am a type of person that when I finally, and I do mean FINALLY get into the groove... I do really really great. I have a couple of short term goals to keep me motivated... mainly my friend is coming in next week, and then he will be back at Thanksgiving. So that was my "alan goal" and my "thanksgiving alan goal". Then I have New Years eve set as another goal, that is when I would LOVE to go out on the town, but right now, not sure if I will get that chance.. and it's my youngest's birthday. I think I can have 80% of my final weight goal OFF by then!!! So I am excited by that prospect! It just keeps me focused and going. Besides.. I am also that single mom, in the dating scene person... I don't have a wonderful DH or SO and I just want to feel better about me and my body before I really get back out there and start dating.

So those are my motivations!

Anyway... time to get to work.. I have two payrolls running Next week and I am not where close to being ready. :-)

10-17-2003, 12:25 PM
Thank goodness it is Friday.

The banquet was great! I ended up getting another puppy. She is so cute but was havn't found a name for her yet. We are trying to stick with the mythological names and it is not very easy finding on the fits her. I will post some pics whne I get home. It was dark when we got home last night so we coulnd't get any good ones. Echo is still trying to get used to her.

I did make Joe take a few pics of me but I didn't look at them yet b/c we were in a hurry to leave so he just clicked a few and then we ran out the door. I will post those later too.

Of course i am in a good mood today b/c of the new addition plus I am getting off at 12:15 today. (doin' a little dance in my chair)

Noelle i would be the first person to go see Jacks if I was that close. I mean you guys are friends here you could be great friends in person.

Cherie what time do you end up going to bed? You always talk about putting your kids to bed and then working out. I was just wondering if you are a night owl.

Jacks I love little bunnies. They just freakl out on me when I pick them up and in turn I freak out too. Maybe it is because I am not used to being around them. Got any pics of the baby?

Julei my hats off to you for doing low carb. I am not able to keep that up for very long.

Angie one of our members had a tummy tuck last year and she looks great. She look better and better all of the time. I think that gave her a new found sense of motivation.

10-17-2003, 12:52 PM
Hey everyone! Happy Friday!!!!

Kempy I am so happy for you. Is it another lab? What color is she? I love them when they are puppies. Can't wait to see your pics! Kempy about the low carbing, it is just the only way I can seem to lose the weight. I hope to lose another ten pounds and then start adding in some carbs..I just love my peanut butter sandwiches and popcorn and fruit.

Cherie thank you for the info about the sbd thread I will have to check that out. I give you all the credit in the world for being a single mom. My mom was too for awhile until she married stepdad and I just know it was not easy on her at times. That is great your taking care of your fitness and health. It is important to take care of you. :)

Hello to everyone. Check in later. Julie

10-17-2003, 01:00 PM
Kempy.. congrats on the new addition to your family!! Can't wait to see pictures!

As for my evenings.. I have a very routine/strict schedule laid out for the girls and I. This seems to be the only way I can stay on track.

I get up at 5:45, roll out of bed and do the 20 minute pilates. Take a shower, get the girls up, we get dressed, things together and are out of the house by 7:00 AM. I work 7:30 to 4:00 (30 min. lunch) I am back at my apartment complex by 4:15, and I do an hour on the treadmill (I change before leaving work) at 5:15, I go pick up the girls, we come home, I make dinner and we usually have eaten by 6:00 PM. 7:00 PM is bath time for the girls, I do my second pilates or abs tape while they are in the bath. They change, we read books and I tuck them in to bed by 8:00 PM. (they are only 3 and 5 so this isn't too early). I wait about 30 minutes, then I go to the fitness room to do my 45 minutes on the ellpitcal machine. I take my walkie talkie with me, the other one is on my bedside. The fitness room is literally right down stairs, and Hannah knows how to use the WT if she wakes up and there is a problem. So far, they have slept right through all my workouts. I get back to the apartment, take a shower, relax for a little while, and normally I go to be between 10:30 and 11:00 PM. So no, I am not a night owl. Just highly motivated and organized! :-)

10-17-2003, 01:14 PM
Julie, thanks.... this has been one of the hardest things I have ever done.. Be a single parent, and the other parent is in another state. I don't ever get a break, and on somedays, I just want to scream and ask what was I thinking???? But I love my girls, and they are my entire world right now. I want to be healthy for them and for me. I want to show them how to live a normal healthy life, full of exercise and activity, and not to get hung up on dieting and food like I did growing up. So, now that is something I have control over, and together all three of us are working at it. It's sad when a 5 yr old says she wants to lose weight. :-( So, we get out as often as we can to go play at the park or go skate in the parking lot.....

Anyway.. thanks again... One day I would love to be married again, but gotta find someone who will love my girls as much as I do!! ;)

10-17-2003, 05:03 PM
 Happy Friday! It's almost the weekend and I don't have any plans, well, except weighing in tomorrow morning at WW. Think I lost maybe a pound :crossed:, but it's better than gaining a pound right? This process is infuriatingly slow, but you know what? I'm eating a lot more than I have been and I FEEL healthy and strong. I just FEEL lighter. Hehe, the body's bound to catch up eh?

Kempy, how exciting to have a new puppy! Is she a yellow like Echo? There's a very handsome yellow lab named Kalani that walks in the same neighborhood I walk in. He always looks like he's smiling (if that's possible). I like the way you name your pets. How 'bout Gaea? (she was Mother Earth, the daughter of Chaos).

Jacks, what's your bunny's name? It's weird but I don't know if I ever told you girls before, we actually have 2 rabbits at our house. A small black dwarf female named Ebony (Ebby for short) and a large white albino I don't know what kind of rabbit, that my niece found at the local park/gym not too many months ago. My sister calls him Jimmy (because we found him at the Gym  ) . He was a bit dirty when we found him, but my sister grooms him at least once a week with the dog slicker, and all that dirty fur came off and now he's pure white. He's about 3X as big as the dwarf and eats 5X as much as she does. He even eats whole bananas with the skin in addition to apples, carrots, rabbit food, you name it, he'll eat it.

Cheri you're a great mom--and super organized! It's great that you're taking care of yourself and setting that example for your girls. You rock.

Angie how ya hanging today? My sister's JRT Koa (about 15 lbs) got into the middle of a scuffle between her 50 lb yellow lab Rusty, and 90 lb German Shepherd/Bull Terrier mix, Max. Max picked Koa up by the scruff of his neck and tossed him. He didn't get hurt, but I was amazed that he would even jump in the fray! I guess he doesn't care about the size difference

Julie, what part of the states do you live in? I don't know if you posted it before or if I just forgot...are you on the east coast or midwest? You can kind of tell where we live by the times we post on here. By the time Jacks and I pop in, most of you have already had lunch and are planning dinner. Hmmm, what's for dinner today? :)

Dips, hope you made it home OK! When's Disneyworld???

Well, got to get back to work. Hello to everyone else--Chris and Holly, (give us a holler!), Sandy, Tonya, Summer, Emily, JackieO, redballoon...

10-17-2003, 05:50 PM
Noelle good luck on your weigh in tomorrow, I bet you will do just great girl! Its wisconsin, and for supper tonight its probally grilled salmon. Maybe with a salad and a veggie. Trying to keep those carbs low for a couple of weeks!

Hey Angie where ya been? I hope you are having a great day.

Cherie you are welcome. Your girls will appreciate and respect you with thanks when they are older. I know I didn't realize how hard it was on my mom to be a single parent until I was an adult. Being a mom is the hardest yet most rewarding job in the world. :)

Can't wait to see the pics Kempy.

I better get supper on. Take care everyone and I will check in later!

10-17-2003, 05:55 PM
Btw Kempy what did you think of my costume of idea?

10-17-2003, 07:30 PM
Today was a little busy here. For some reason it is pretty busy still. I am not *****ing though because I can use every penny I can get. Plus I have Brits party tomorrow so I have to bake the cake and clean the house etc.

Okay, I missed so much that personal replies will be hard but here goes...If I miss anyone it wasnt on purpose really.

Cherie, I made pizza tonight too. YUM. mushrooms, onions and green peppers. You have a very hectic schedule girl. My hat is off to you. I hope you can find the right guy for you and your girls someday. Me and Jay have always said that if we ever split up then the new spouse would have to be liked by the kids or we wouldnt get involved at all.

Kempy, A PUPPY!!!!! I am so jealous!!! A lady by us has Cairn Terrier puppies right now and I would love to have one so bad but I am too poor to buy another pup right now. I am a terrier girl I guess. If it is a little butthead then I want it. I want pics as soon as you can get them. Echo is going to love having another dog around while you guys work.

I think a tummy tuck would do that for me too. I need a little bit of confidence.

Jacks, We used to have bunnies when I was little. I love rabbits. If you can we would love to see a pic. We used to let ours stay in the house too.

Noelle, I think you are doing great!! You are really motivated. When do you leave for vacation? Rebel loves big dogs. They are his favorite. When he was 8 weeks old he was the size of a beanie baby and my mom brought her Rottie over to see him. I was so scared because she could have litterally swallowed him. He loves her so much and he drives her bananas whenever she is here.

10-17-2003, 07:41 PM
I broke down and had two huge brownies at work today. One of our managers is leaving and we had cake and browines and cookies for her. I haven't really had anything good and chocolatey in a while, and today.... I ate them knowing that I shouldn't have. I was at first just going to have one half of a brownie.... and that would have been enough... but instead... I had TWO..... sigh.... I did go do my treadmill for an hour... and because I ate them so late in the day... it started upsetting my tummy..... I feel so bad right now. So moral is. Chocolate Brownies are NOT good for you. So... I am not having pizza tonight. I have done enough damage. Right now, I don't even feel like eating... but if I do, I will be reaching for the tuna instead. This weekend I will try and figure out how I can burn off the extra browine weight. I know each one of these things had to have at least 1000 calories! ;) They were THAT GOOD then. Not now... I just feel.... EWWWWWW.

Ang.. your pizza sounds great.... have a piece for me. I am heating up a frozen pizza for the girls... they won't care. And I won't be tempted to eat it. Brought two of the cookies home for them, so they will be excited about the treat.

Julie.. you are right again. Being a mom has been my most challenging and favorite job in the world... It's great!!! Lots of rewards.... my 5 year old was trying to take care of me this afternoon cause I felt so bad. Bless her heart.

Noelle.. good luck with your weigh in!!! I know you will do great... and isn't that a wonderful feeling!!! YOU are doing a GREAT JOB!!!

Ok.. time to feed the girls.... timer is going off!

10-17-2003, 08:35 PM
Here is a pic of the new baby. I think we have settled on Reha

10-17-2003, 08:36 PM
Here she is again.

10-17-2003, 08:39 PM
She looks a little happier in the one. I think she may have just been tired.

10-17-2003, 08:44 PM
Rhea is Sooooooo CUTE!!! :bb: Echo looks like a perfect big sister. You are very lucky to have 2 beautiful girls.

(the hubby ain't bad either :s: )

10-17-2003, 08:49 PM
Thanks Noelle. I can't believe I spelled her name wrong in the first post. What a mother I am.

I think I will keep them all. Including the human on. ;)

10-17-2003, 08:59 PM
Hehe, I didn't even notice it was spelled wrong...I knew what you meant right off, so no worries.

Bad spellers of the world, untie!

10-17-2003, 09:23 PM
Oh Kempy she is so cute! Beautiful just like her big sister! I bet you are going to have busy weekend getting her settled! Julie

10-17-2003, 11:23 PM
Aloha everyone...

I'm trying to get some of the work done that I missed out on yesturday, but for some reason, it doesn't seem to go down, just up! Here's a pic of my bunny... He's a lot bigger now though. I was REALLY bad today. The chocolate in our office was just calling my name. And worst yet...it was Mele Macs (chocolate and toffee covered macadamia nuts!) MY FAVORITE! A coworker left them for us. I am really mad at myself.

Cherie - is it just Friday's that chocolate seems to tempt us so bad? I'm like you, gonna try and work off those calories this weekend.

Kempy - your puppy is soooooo cute. I wish I can get a dog where i live. I left my rottweiler back in California when I moved here. Thank god they changed the quarantine laws here. Maybe I can take him back sometime.

Noelle - Try and watch out what you give to your bunny. Too much of just anything can cause stasis in a bunny (a common problem in bunnies where nothing moves inside them caused by a cummulation of food that they can not digest.) Good leafy greens and tops of carrots are really good. My bunny LOVES li hing mui mangos and graham crackers but I can't give them to him...then he gives me this sad face

Angie - that pizza sounds soooo good. wish I could have some, but since I was so bad, I'm limiting myself to lowfat, low carb meals this weekend....

Well girls...gotta get a move on so I can get out of here and get my butt to the gym. Hope ya'll have a great weekend!

:) Jacks

P.S. Noelle - did you know they're having a plate lunch festival at Kakaako Park this weekend...:(

10-17-2003, 11:28 PM
Here's my bunny...

10-17-2003, 11:29 PM
Oh Kempy, She is so sweet!! I like how Echo leans in on Joe. She is a daddy's girl for sure. You are going to have so much fun watching them when they start to wrestle with each other. My 2 do it every night and it is so funny.

Cherie, Dont be so hard on yourself. You are doing great!! I am amazed every day at what you have accomplished. You are still my hero!

Jacks,MeleMacs sound yummy. It is a good thing we dont have them here.

10-17-2003, 11:31 PM
Jacks, What a cutie pie. I love those little twitching noses!

Now I want a bunny. My house would look like a zoo if Jay would let me. As it is now I have 2 dogs,4 cats and 1 fish(oh yeah 1 hubby and 3 loud kids) haha

10-17-2003, 11:33 PM
Thank you Jacks, I really needed to know that! :hun:

That is one cute lop-eared bunny! I'll have to tell my sister about feeding Jimmy too much of weird things. He doesn't seem to have any problems as of yet, did I mention when we found him he was eating out of a rubbish can at a public park? :ink: Anyway, thanks for the heads-up. Have a great weekend and STAY AWAY from Kakaako Park! :drill:

10-17-2003, 11:33 PM
Noelle, I want to see a pic of your bunnies and Kai and your sis' JRT! Good Luck with your weigh in tomorrow. I didnt overeat the pizza tonight because I knew I had to answer to the scales in the morning.

10-17-2003, 11:50 PM
Jacks what a cute bunny! Looks so gentle. Don't worry about the chocolate at work. Tomorrow is a new day!

Noelle and Jacks I think I should move to Hawaii!!!! I love all the food there. I love fresh fish, coconut, love love macadamia nuts, pineapple, and kona coffee! I might just have to go and get myself a hula skirt:lol: ! Hey it might be good excercise to lose some of this weight. Only if I had the moves.

Cherie don't you worry about that chocolate either. You deserve a treat once and a while. Even with this low carbing I am not craving bread but I am craving chocolate anything so bad!

Angie Yum pizza! Do you make you own crust? I just love homemade crust.

Have a good weekend Kempy and everyone else hope you can come by this weekend. Julie

10-18-2003, 10:13 AM
Weigh In !! I weighed in at 141. That means I lost 3 pounds this week. Now to be a good girl around the birthday party. I already bought my sub for lunch and I am making a turkey dinner for supper. I also made the cake lowfat so that I can have a piece of it guilt free.

Julie no my pizza was Chef Boyardee. I have made my own crust before and I almost did last night but I changed my mind. I like to make breadsticks with the homemade crust with parmesan cheese, garlic and butter. Makes my mouth water just thinking about it.

Well, I have to go get the party set up. Have a Great Day!

10-18-2003, 06:32 PM
Kempy, I meant to ask you how do the cats like the puppy?

I had Britt's party and I didnt eat anything. It was fun because I just had my mom her friend and my sis over so we chitchatted while the kids played.

10-18-2003, 08:08 PM
Weighed in today @ WW and am down -3.4 lbs this week! :encore:
I couldn't believe it myself as my home scales have been fluctuating over the week and I didn't know what to expect. I like this WW stuff. I can eat real food and as long as I account for what goes in my mouth and use the right number of points, I can still lose weight. Cool beans eh? What's kind of disappointing is that a 10% loss for me (which is my first goal) would put me back to where I was back in April. (I feel ill just thinking about it). I managed to eat myself back up to 191.6 lbs in a matter of 5 months *sigh*. April through September was my slump and I was eating like there was no tomorrow. I guess the main thing is is that I'm trying again and it seems to be working. Wish me luck on this journey--it's a long road.

Angie, congrats girlfriend! You're doing awesome! And WTG on not indulging at the b-day party. Tell Britt I send her b-day wishes :balloons: :hat: :hb:.

Julie we'd love to have you here in the Aloha state. There's plenty of the foods you mentioned to go around. Pineapple is my favorite fruit of all time :T . And fresh fish? Abundant! Come on down! You might miss the pretty white winters and fall colors though...

Hope everyone's out there having a great weekend. I know I am!

Check ya gals out later. Peace!

10-19-2003, 10:13 AM
Noelle, YOU ROCK GIRL!!!!! Way to go, I know you can do it. I know exactly what you mean about your 10% loss. I still have to lose more weight to get back to what i was in June but I guess the important thing is that we are dedicated to keep trying no matter what. We will do it I have faith in us.

10-19-2003, 05:05 PM
Where is everybody?

10-19-2003, 11:30 PM
Hey Everyone!!! Sorry I was MIA this weekend.. I just kinda took a break from the net for a while. I did get my exercise in both days.... and stayed pretty much OP, but still managed to enjoy my weekend with the girls. I have til Wednesday to get off one more pound... and I think I may be halfway there by the morning.. will keep you posted! :-)

Noelle... WTG on your weight loss!!! THAT IS GREAT!!!!! WOO HOO!!!! and I understand about the 10% thing too... I am still working on the 25 pounds I gained since April of last year.... when I moved here to Oklahoma.... Then I have 20 more to go after that!!!

Angie... WTG on your weight loss too!!! FANTASTIC!! We all seem to be finding our own groove again!! You will make it to you goal by your trip in NO TIME! :-)

Julie.. I learned my lesson with that brownie.. it made me so sick Friday night... too much of a sugar rush.... I felt so bad. Next time... I will do 1/2 of one instead of two whole ones...

Kempy and Jacks.. your pets are adorable.... makes me want one... a dog that is.. but with two little ones already, I don't think I could handle another!

Ok girls.. gotta get to bed!!!

Take care,

10-20-2003, 02:16 AM
Blech! We just got back from my sister's house on the other side of the island. Our family was celebrating all the October birthdays, 2 of my sisters and a niece. I really tried hard to be good but our family gatherings have SO much good food. I did buy those lowfat Orville Reddenbacher popcorn cakes to munch on instead of chips, and baby carrots...I had a large green salad along with my sushi, but there was some lowfat cupcakes that I experimented on. It was a WW recipe which called for 1 box of cake mix, a 15 oz can of pumpkin and 1/4 cup water. I made cupcakes and they're supposed to be 2 pts each. They turned out well, and would be a perfectly legal snack, except I had about 3 of 'em :o:. What else did we have? We had charbroiled chicken, beer-steamed clams with a garlic butter sauce, teriyaki steak... I had bites of each here and there and I am stuffed! Plus my mom and dad were going to another family party at my aunts house afterwards and baked a butter mochi dessert to take with them. Turns out, my aunt postponed the party so the mochi came right back home, still warm from the oven and I couldn't resist. There went 5 more points! Thank God for flex points--I've used 16 just for today :ink: . I did get to walk a total of 7.2 miles though. I was feeling really motivated and got in a 5.2 mile walk early this morning, then I did another 2 miles when I got home from the party. I guess it's a little bit of damage control, but I had to come downstairs and away from the kitchen so I don't eat anymore. Sorry if I'm being a little too descriptive about the food...It's just so freakin' hard to make good choices when you've got a large family that loves to gather and everyone brings something great to eat. OK enough whining from me. I am going to work my butt off this week and pray for another loss instead of a gain.

Have a great week everyone.

10-20-2003, 09:36 AM
Good Morning. My scales are jumping up for no reason at all. I didnt mess up this weekend and yet I am back up to where I started???? I will ride it out though but let me tell ya it definately reminded me of how I fell off the wagon to begin with!!!!

Cherie, I am glad you had a good weekend.

Noelle,Noelle,Noelle, Your family should move to Maine and open a restaraunt. I would be your best customer. Your family gatherings sound so fun and yummy! You make my mouth water with all of the delicious foods every week. I can understand how it can be so hard for you.

It is so cold today. We have a frost right now and I am trying to get the feeling back to my fingers and toes after our walk.

I hope everyone else had a great weekend.

10-20-2003, 09:49 AM
I made my first 'Alan' goal!!! I am at 138.00 as of this morning! Now to work on my second 'Alan' goal, or otherwise known as Thanksgiving... to lose 10 more pounds to be down to 128.00!! I am very excited! :)

Angie.... don't give up...it's water. Maybe over the weekend you didn't get as much water in as you do during the week, and your body is retaining a little. I know I have an extremely hard time on the weekends to get my water in. You are doing a GREAT job!!!! Keep it up, you will be where you want to be by your trip!

Noelle.. you did a fantastic job with your food considering all the temptations around you. I have been lucky not to have really placed myself in situations like that... however, with my friend coming in this week, we already have Pizza planned at our favorite pizza place and probably a few other things... we both love to eat!!! So this is going to be a hard week for me. Great job on your workouts too!!!! Keep it up!

Ok... everyone... I have a payroll running this morning.. gotta finish it up! Talk to you all soon!!!

10-20-2003, 11:06 AM
Happy Monday! (if there is such a thing)

Julie sorry I didn't repsond about the costume idea. I do like it but Joe wants to go as a Hooters girl. he did it before and it is really funny. I am not really sure if we are even going to do anythign now. The plans keep changing and people don't know if they want to do it now. So until I find out for certain i am not going to waste me time thinking about what to wear. I am not really a dress up person anyway.

Jacks I love the bunny. OK, now I want one of those too. Like Angie, I don't think Joe would allow anymore animals.

Noelle and Cherie, you guys are doing awesome. It is great to read about when you guys have an accomplishment. I am still not back intot the groove of things. Ever since I was sick I can't seem to get my life back in order. I guess it will happen soon.

Angie don't worry about the gain. Remeber that you have been lifting a few weights and muscle weighs more than fat. Trust me you are doing the right things for yourself.

My weekend was pretty fun. I had a freind from growing up come over Saturday night so it was a serious house cleaning day then. Sunday I had planting duty at the front of the subdivision. There wa lots more work up there than we all thought. We were up there for 3 hours and only got one bed complete. There has never really been a good maintenance program going on for the flower beds. That is all going to change. We are all tired of looking at the empty beds.

10-20-2003, 12:07 PM
Hey guys,

I had a terrible weekend. My hubby was sick all weekend. Yesterday he went to the er and today is having surgery because something is blocking his kidney. Please say some prayers. Thanks everyone.

10-20-2003, 01:14 PM
Julie... he is in my prayers.. along with you and your family. Please let us know how he is.

10-20-2003, 01:45 PM
Julie, I hope everything is alright and I will be praying for you all. Let us know how his surgery turns out ok.

Kempy, A hooters girl? Him or you? If he dresses up as a Hooters girl I want pics. haha He would probably get a few free drinks at the bar. That is such a cute idea.

Cherie, Congrats on meeting your goal!! I guess the brownies jumpstarted your metabolism for ya.

I figure I went up because I thought of Chinese this weekend.

10-20-2003, 01:55 PM
Angie.. don't know if the brownies kickstarted my metoblism, however, after I ate them and ran, I felt so sick.. I didn't eat anything else that night. Not exactly healthy. I tried to get back on track Sat and Sunday, and did a pretty good job. Thankfully the scales didn't go up all weekend, just remained constant... and after my workout last night, I hopped on the scales and had a really good feeling! :-) I was right! So I have two more pounds for this month to achieve my goal here. This week will be a huge test of will power. I know tomorrow I have an early dinner with my friend, lunch on Thursday and then will spend the whole day with him on Monday... so I have a feeling during the downtime, I will be exersicing and watching everything that goes into my mouth.

Thinking about Chinese will do it!!! (that is lunch on Thursday ;) )

OK.. back to work...

Oh and Kempy... PICTURES of the Hooter's Gal.. hahahaha I bet that will turn out great!! hahaha....

10-20-2003, 02:44 PM
Joe is going to be the one dressing up like the hooter's gilr. The last time he did it I took pics but I don't know where they are. I come across them every now and then but of course as soon as I go to look for them I wont be able to find them.

We have a dinner to go to Friday at a plantation. I am soooo looking forward to it. It is going to be a lobster boil. I know Angie you eat those all of the time but it is a treat for us down here. Joe has to go pick them up at the airport that morning. Now I juts need to figure out what to wear to that. I still have no clothes to go to things like this.

10-20-2003, 06:09 PM
Kempy, If you are eating lobster it can be messy unless the are going to shell them for you. I usually end up a mess after I am done picking them. You will definately enjoy them though.

I have to take the kids to the dentist tomorrow. yeah! They just get to go back to school and I remember that I made an appointment for them. They WILL be going to school after though.

Our weather is calling for snow showers for tomorrow and Wednesday. Anybody pity me? YUCK!

Aloha Girls,

Sorry I was MIA this weekend. I was really busy, workshop on Saturday, cleaning house Sunday, and trying to avoid the Latin Festival and Plate Lunch festival this weekend. I went to this New Product show at the Blaisdell. Had some real good samples of food there too. I luckily stayed away from the Cold Stone booth.

I had one pitfall though, Kelly was craving Pasteles and Gandule rice, so we went and got some. I ordered the smallest plate and ate about half of it and then I was full. I think I did pretty well considering how good it was!!!

Julie - thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Please let us know how the surgery goes.

Noelle/Angie/Cherie - Congrats on the weightloss!!! Woohoo! Damn, I wish I were there! Noelle, don't get down on the food. I swear Hawaii is evil in that way. I still haven't gone on the scale yet. I should to see how I am progressing.

Kempy - Nah - get the bunny! They're super sweet and easy to take care of. I'm sure if it's around your dogs alot it will start acting like one too. My friend's bunny actually barks like one!

Okay back to work...urgghh!!! Hoppy Monday!!!

10-20-2003, 09:41 PM
Hey girls. My legs are killing me today. I'm gonna really need to stretch before I go out again today. It's a good kind of ache (a little bit of masochism maybe? ) where you know you're working those muscles. I asked Rick to show me how to use that darn weight machine, so hopefully this week I will get something going on.

Julie :grouphug: Take care of hubby and yourself. My thoughts and prayers are on their way. Good wishes and a speedy recovery too. Any word on the outcome yet?

Angie, I'd love to take you around here and show you all the evil fattening foods we have in Hawaii. I remember bringing some Japanese style breading and nori sheets to my cousin in California so we could make Spam musubi and chicken katsu. I don't know about moving to Maine--sounds too cold for me! Snow showers? Brrrrr!!! I'm sure you'd enjoy it better if you moved out here ;) . I'd love to visit and cook you up a storm local style in exchange for some sticky buns and peanut butter brownies  .

Kempy, Joe a hooters girl? that must be something to see! Does he wear the mandatory pantyhouse too? Scary... Mmmm, lucky you eating lobster :T. I almost bought a couple of tails from Costco the other day but I don't really have a knack for cooking them right like the restaurants do so I didn't want to waste them. Have fun!

Jacks, Jacks, Jacks...my fellow comrade in this food paradise. I just love pasteles and gandule rice :hun: . My MIL can make some good stuff like that, and she's haole but learned from a Puerto Rican in-law. *sigh* So where did ya guys go to get them? We live out on the leeward side and if we get hungry for that we go to Jackie's in Waimalu. (Then we hop on over to Leonard's Jr. for malassadas) . :D It's no joke that it's tough living here with so many darn good food choices. How was the Food and New Product show? You didn't enter the Couch Potato contest to win all those Sony goodies did you? (joking!)

Cherie, congrats on reaching your "Alan" goal !!! Hey, whatever motivates you, right? You are shrinking away before our eyes. You're smart to get this weight off before the major "centered around food" holidays. I hope we all stick around during the holidays to help each other through them. Good job!

Well, I've got to get some more work done and go to the bank and all that fun stuff. Hello to everyone else!

10-21-2003, 09:16 AM
WE GOT SNOW!!!!!! Jay got back at 5:00 this morning from delivering and I got up to pee. He said did you look outside. YUCK!!!! I had to go let the dogs out to watch them though because they LOVE the snow. So needless to say no walk this morning and NO drive to climb on the elliptical.

My weight is still back to 144 and I am getting PISSED now!! Honestly it isnt worth it if I am eating nothing good and still my weight can just jump up 4 pounds for no reason and stay there. Basically right now all the hard work I have done this month to lose weight was for nothing because I havent actually lost anything. I could handle a plateau because that would be normal and I would know that I need to work a little harder to get over it but what do you do when it jumps up ALOT for no reason at all.

10-21-2003, 09:48 AM
Oh Angie.. I feel for you..... it's going to be in the upper 80's again here today.. (made it to 90 yesterday!) I am not looking forward to snow or colder weather or anything like that!!!!!! I am sorry!

And keep working.. it will come off.. I know how frustated you are. But you are doing great!! Keep it up!!! Enjoy that snow!

Noelle... I love that kind of pain too! Hahaha.. makes me feel like something is working right!!!!

Jacks and Noelle... your food there sounds wonderful!!!! You poor things having that kind of temptation everyday!! It would be like me being in New Orleans trying to lose weight!!!!! OH MY... couldn't do it!

Kempy.. Lobster!!! YUM!! That is a treat. I can't remember the last time I had lobster!!! Enjoy!!! Love those plantations there in LA....

Ok... I have a huge payroll today that I need to do... I will catch up with you all later tonight!!! One more day and my friend comes in!! ;) I am excited! Not that I will get to see him much, but I do get to see him!

Talk soon!

10-21-2003, 11:01 AM
Good morning guys. I feel like my head is the size of one of those Macy's Day balloon. I just want to lay back down and sleep some of this off. I don't understand why I keep getting sick.

I have not been on the scale b/c I am scared to. I need to have one ofyou living with me so that you can kick my butt back into gear.

10-21-2003, 01:38 PM
Hi guys

Thanks everyone for the thoughts and well wishes. It turns out he had a large kidney stone that had to be removed. I am just totally exhausted from the weekend and yesterday. Its hard with little ones and a sick hubby trying to handle everything and on top of that I think I am getting a head cold or something.

Angie white stuff so soon. Hang in there!

Cherie congrats on your goal. Have fun with your friend!

Noelle that food from the weekend sounded so good.

Jacks good job staying on track with you eating this weekend.

Check in later. Julie

10-21-2003, 03:50 PM
Good morning everyone, it's a beautiful day  whether we have sun, rain or even snow because we have each other to lean on. *ahhhh, I'm feeling all warm and fuzzy can you tell?* Had a good OP day yesterday and even got in my 3.5 miles with the threat of rain. There were some ugly looking black clouds over my head but there was a rainbow sticking out of each end. That's life, eh?

Angie sorry to hear your weatherman was right about the powder :(. Girl, you're doing everything you can, don't let the scale get you down. Drink, drink, drink your water. I can't tell you how important that is. It helps flush the fat and toxins out of your system. I don't know what else to tell you except you're still my hero. I weigh almost what I weighed a year ago (when I met you guys)--but YOU have come far. Be proud!

Julie, I'm so relieved for you that your DH got taken care of. Kidney stones :headache:. It's a good thing he didn't have to "pass" that one, huh? Sorry, I don't mean to be mean, I'm just trying to inject some humor into this situation :^: . You take care of yourself, you hear? Take two of these :cookie: and call me in the morning. :grouphug:

Cherie, can you cut me a check too? I'm a little short on cash today  . Have fun visiting with your friend tomorrow and don't work too hard today. ;)

Kempy, sorry to hear you're feeing under the weather again too. I can imagine you, Echo and Rhea all snuggled up in bed together. I hate that balloon-head feeling. Hope you feel better soon. I vote for Cherie to be your live-in drill sergeant--I would choose Dips but she's out enjoying her newfound civilian freedom. Cherie could keep you on a tight schedule :D. Rest up.

Jacks, how are things in downtown Honolulu? What's for lunch today? I don't know where you are, but when I used to go downtown, I used to like the Alakea Delicatessen :T. I just love that Okazuya type food. Haven't had any "real" kind for a while.

Have a great day girls, i'll check back later.

10-21-2003, 05:29 PM
Kempy, I hope you feel better soon. I told ya I would love to come live with ya. I am sure I would be bad for you though. haha How is the puppy settling in? Did I ever tell you abou the Pomeranian Jay brought home a few months ago? He was running in the middle of the street so Jay found the owners who said he has done that before. Well guess what? He is missing again!!! We are going to go try to find him ourselves to try to make sure he is ok. Poor little guy.

Julie, I am glad to hear hubbys surgery went well. Tell him I hope he feels better soon.

Noelle, You are in high spirits today. You wouldnt be if you were here. YUCK! I hate snow so bad. It feels like I should be looking at a Christmas tree or something and you know me at Christmas time. PIG PIG PIG. All I want to do is bake goodies to eat. I guess it is just one of those days for me.

10-21-2003, 07:10 PM
Hey Chikas...

Another day, another day, another day...I'm felt really empowered yesturday and got most of my "to do" folder done...felt good to leave the office having accomplished some things, even though it was like 7:00 when I left. I was too pooped to go to the gym so I did some yoga this morning. I hope to make up gym trip today, IF I CAN LEAVE!!!

Noelle - gosh...I would love to walk down to Alakea deli and get something to eat. I want to leave the office to take a walk, but it's also so hard to try and avoid all the temptations. I have to wait until the lunch hour is over so it doesn't smell as good outside. I wish they had more okazuya places here. Hilo had plenty. I craving hawaiian plate right about now. Urggghhh!!!

Julie - Glad your husband's surgery went well. Take some time to rest and take care of yourself too okay?

Ditto for you to Kempy....all this focus on day to day stresses and stress of losing weight, need to make sure our health is in check. Rest up!

Angie - Keep your head up girl. I'm too scared to even go on the scale...I really need to get over that. Like Noelle said, its probaly just water...what's up with women and retaining water so much???

Cherie - You can make the check out to Jacqueline L. de Guzman....hee hee....all this saving up for my trip back home puts less pocket money in my wallet. But all the better, no money in my wallet means less temptation to go downstairs to the snackshop and buy something!

Okay...Gotta get going on this project of mine thats way overdue...take care you guys!!!

:p Jacks

Hey Ladies! :-) I just finished my workout for the night and I'm sitting here winding down. Work was so HECTIC today. I am glad it's over. Tomorrow morning will be really hectic too, but by the afternoon, things will have quieted down.. just in time for my friend to fly in from CA!!!! Woo Hoo!!! :-) I haven't seen him in 7 weeks, and I was 21 pounds heavier then.. so hopefully he will NOTICE!! ;) I am now working on my Thanksgiving goal of being at 128.00.. so that is 9 more pounds!

Jacks If I could write you a check I would... heck, I would have already written me one. It's bad when you see these bonuses some of these people get. Sometimes it's just amazing!

Angie.. we just need to focus together and make a pact that we will not gain weight during the holiday season! If we stick together, I know we can all succeed in that!

Noelle... wtg on walking!!! Great job! I bet that was beautiful.. the storm clouds and the rainbows.. I LOVE STORMS!!!! weird, I know!

Julie (((((HUGS)))))) glad your hubby is doing better... and I hope you start to feel better soon and can get some rest! Take care of yourself!!!!

Kempy.. Hope you start to feel better soon too. Are you taking any vitamins? Get Better!

Ok.... my dryer is buzzing me so I guess I better go do something constructive!

Talk to you all tomorrow!

10-22-2003, 10:29 AM
Woo Hoo!! I am very excited about seeing Alan! :-) Hopefully I can get out of this agitated/pissy mood I am in. I am ready to give my two girls away! We had such a bad morning today.... and I am trying to get past it. I am so tired of telling them 10 times to do someting, especially in the mornings, when we are all rushing around. Anyway.... the kicker this morning was when after having tell my almost 4 year old to get up and go to the bathroom, ( I JUST NOW have her potty trained, since she moved back in with me in September) well... as we are rushing to get out the door.. she stands in my living room and PEES all over herself and my carpet... needless to say, I was NOT happy, and was VERY FRUSTRATED. Get to work, and I already have a call from one client and trying to get their payroll straightened out... and in about 30 minutes, I have a year end call with my other client, and my tax person isn't here yet.

So... I am just a little stressed this morning.... trying to calm down. It's going to be a great day.. RIGHT????

Ok.. back to work... I did do my pilates this morning.. so I started out my day good!

Talk to you all soon!

10-22-2003, 10:59 AM
Cherie, sounds like today got started off on the wrong foot for you but just remember....ALAN IS COMING!!!YEAH!!!! You have been waiting so long for a visit. I hope you two have a great time. I am sure he will notice your weightloss too.

Tomorrow my oldest(Brittany) turns 12!!! Oh my god I feel so old right now!! Her first dance is on Halloween and she keeps getting emails from her ex boyfriend(I think he still likes her) She is definately growing up fast.

Last night I had a little binge fest. 3 slices of lowfat cake and some lowfat onion dip with wow chips!! I am trying so hard to control myself today. I have no idea what is going on in my head right now. It is cold and all I want to do is stay inside and snuggle and munch. WINTER SUCKS!!!! I did get right up and do 3 miles this morning though and it felt good. I really need to move somewhere where I can walk all the time because my exercise equipment is looking pretty evil to me right now

Kempy, Are you feeling any better today?

10-22-2003, 03:31 PM
I am just poping in real quick to let you all know that I am still alive. I am still sick but alive.

Julie give hubby a hug for me.

Cherie you have fun this evening. I am sure he will notice.

Angie I saw on the weather that you guys are going to be in the 40's. We are in the high 80's. Maybe that is why I am sick. The weather is getting to me.

Jacks and Noelle what is the temp out there. My weather doesn't go out that far.

OK I am heading back to the sofa. I am getting tired again.

10-22-2003, 04:45 PM
:grouphug: Here's a hug for everyone feeling sick, tired and just plain stressed out. It's hump day gang, let's make the most of it.

Kempy take care of yourself, like Julie, I'm gonna recommend taking two of these :cookie:, and call me in the morning. :) Let's see, we currently have 78 degrees w/74% humidity. It's supposed to get up to around 86 today. The weather man keeps predicting rain but I've yet to see it fall :crossed:. I just looked at the long-term weather report and we're supposed to get 'scattered thunderstorms' on Halloween  . That would suck big time.

Angie, at least it was lowfat right? I'm finding it harder to wake up in the morning now that the temps are getting cooler. It just feels nice to snuggle into the blankets (or into your significant other  ) when it's cold out. Hang in there. Good job on damage control with your walk. You can do this!!!!

Cherie, chin up! Alan is here and he'd be a blind man not to notice the difference in you. Kids are soooo precious. You can't kill 'em so you gotta love 'em  . It's Murphy's law that whenever you are in a big rush, your kids will move slower than molasses. Have a good visit and a great day.

Julie, hope you and hubby are feeling better. :lucky: Take care!

Jacks, were you living in Hilo too? The Big Island is my least favorite island to visit because when I was little we took a weekend trip there and I hated riding in the car SOOOOO far (from Hilo to Kona), and then the keys got locked in the car and for some reason I got blamed....(hey, I was 9 years old, how did I get to be responsible for the keys???) then I fell down and skinned my knees and elbows at the City of Refuge ...I could go on and on, but I won't :D. I was probably bawling like Corey, right Angie?

Here's a shout out to everyone else . Come on all you lurkers, come out and post!

10-22-2003, 05:36 PM
Hey girls

I am doing better now, I think I had some allergies that were getting to me. My husband is home now from the hospital and resting comfortable with his pain medication. As for my eating I have been staying pretty good being OP. I have been still staying low carb and so far have lost 2-4 pounds depending if I weigh myself with my clothes on. Does everyone here weigh with clothes on or off?

Noelle thanks sweetie for the cookies!!!! I think they helped.
God girl you are so lucky with the weather you have. It is 46 degrees here. I am just freezing. Prayers for you that it does not rain on your Halloween!

Kempy big hug to you, hope you feel better soon. If I lived closer I would deliver some chicken soup! Gosh I will be making alot of that with my hubby not feeling well.

Cherie sorry you were stressed this a.m. I am with Noelle everytime you want to get out the door in a hurry something happens. Gotta love them kids though!

Angie, dear, don't worry about the binge. It happens, we are only human. Just pick up and move on and give yourself a pat on the back for how far you have come. And by the way you are not old!

Jacks don't work to hard. Hopefully you can get some time in for yourself.

Well everyone I got a beef roast in the oven and it smells yummy! I have to go shred it and make my gravy. Again thanks friends for the good thoughts. Check in later bye for now. Julie
