Way to go Tina! You'll be back under 300 in no time. Happy Birthday Andria! Hope it was a good one. Things have been going good here. I've been drinking 80+oz of water daily and getting in my exercise. Today I walked my son to school and then walked home. I also did my WATP 1 mile and did 20 min on the treadmill. I feel so good when I'm doing good things for my body. It makes me feel thinner. I'll probably be doing a lot of the treadmill this week since the weather report isn't looking so hot for us here. Isabel seems to be on her way here by Thursday or Friday. I'm hoping things will shift and she'll head back out to sea. Oh well we'll have to wait and see what happens. Hope everyone has a great night.

I just wanted to check in. My baby turns 3 on Thursday. I cannot believe it!! he is growing up so fast. My oldest will be 9 in November and the girls are already flocking after him. Oh, I am not ready for this :(
I am loving my job!!! I have been a daycare teacher now for about a month. I am part time but one day I hope to become full time. I am wanting to wait until both of mine are in school first. I only work 4 hours a day now and that is plenty.
Congrats to you all that are moving and losing!! I hope to join you one day soon. Unfortunately I dont know if I am ready to take a ride on the wagon just now. I will join you soon but I want to wait until I know that I wont fall right back off.
I hope that everyone has a good night and/or day!! I am getting ready to head to bed.

It is after midnight and I am tired. Just peeking in before I crash for the night. I have soooo much to do tomorrow.
Tonight I took DH out for his birthday. He had a nice steak and I ate grilled chicken. Substituted veggies for potatoes. :cp:
Then I took him to the casino for a couple of hours.
I won $65 by the time we agreed to leave. :D DH lost $40 :(
We decided to stay 30 more minutes... I LOST $20 of my winnings... and DH WON $140. We both came home a winner. :D
I swam again today. Water temp still in the upper 70's BRRRRrrrr
Several have asked how long it stays warm in OKla.
Your guess is as good as mine. LOL
There is a saying for OKla... if you don't like the weather... just wait an hour. :lol: I am HOPING for a longggg warm season here.
But we are already having evenings in the upper 40's and 50's. That is why I have to wait until 3pm to get my swimming in.
We will have a week of cold in Oct... and then a few days of 90's. :rolleyes:
Very unpredictable. But since I got a pool... winter will probably come early this year. :lol:

Morning my favorite chicks,
Not much to report since last night you know, but I wanted to pop in anyway and start my day off right. I did really good and stayed op yesterday and plan on it for today. I still need to go add up my points if I can find that darn little book again. I know it's here somewhere, it used to be my bible now the darn thing is missing.
I am assuming the points for WW are the same as they were before the new flex points thing, and that the 35 flex ones are in there for your use besides your regular points. Thats how I took it when I read up on it yesterday.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for all of us Easterners and hoping that this darn hurricane dies down more before she hits. The latest report puts land fall in NC or as far north as NJ coast, so what do we do? My hubby is a lobsterman and traps are in the water and I hate this time of year (hurricane season) the high seas and winds sometimes you loose your gear to it, and I hate the wind and the boat being in the water. I have seen the damage that mother nature can do. She can pick up a boat just like a tootler does to play with and send it sailing. Anyway, my fingers are crossed for us all.
Those in PA, I saw some flooding on the weather, I hope not in your area.

I should be getting ready for work but its cool and lovely this morning. Too bad I can't call in sick. Maybe I'll be able to play hooky in October.
I got in a fantastic dog walk last night. I love fall evenings. We walked at a faster pace and it felt great.
DH has a trip tonight to take the kids to a volleyball game. Woohoo! Just me and the dog for an evening. I've got lots of things I want to accomplish tonight but top on the list are a bike ride, dog walk, and some yard work.
Anyone see Dr. Phil yesterday? I have sort of watched it but would like to go back and watch it again. One thing though. I watched the first 10 minutes or so and then told DH that I wanted him to watch it too. It really hit me watching the clips of all the people who sent in tapes. I don't want to go back to looking like that and feeling like that. The main thing is that you could see how miserable they are both physically and mentally. The pain in their voices. I've been there and been in denial about it and I don't want to feel that pain again. Although I thought he was a little hokey about hyping his book so much with his comments "I've broken the code" as if he can "cure" everyone's weight problems. In reality, its nothing more than us getting ahold of our emotions and dealing with the issues that lead us to overeat - whether its laziness, whether its self-medication to mask pain, whether its boredom or whatever. We, WE, are the ones who have to cure ourselves.
I'll be interested to see who he's chosen for the challenge.

WI last night really got me psyched. We did the postcard thing at WW last night, but our leader is using the week before Christmas as our goal. It really does make you think about attainable goals in the short termÖ. Kind of keeps weight loss in perspective.

SANDY: I can understand why you would worry about the weather considering your DH is out on the sea in all kinds of it. I did hear this A.M. that the hurricane may be lessening and possibly fall apart before it gets too far north. Something about high level wind shear pulling it apart. I hope so!
MICHELLE: Wears me out just thinking about spending time with all of those kids. (j-ann wipes her brow) Iím sure they all had a great time and Iím sure you slept well that night.
LORI: I LOVE breakfast. Iíd make it the biggest meal of the day if I had my way! Itís the one meal I never, ever skip. Getís me going for the day.

It is a beautiful morning. They say it's the calm before the storm. We'll have one more day of peaceful weather and then Isabel is supposed to hit, or graze us. It's really too soon to tell though, the news just keeps speculating. They really don't have a clue as to where it's going to hit next.
In other news my toe is healing fine. I was able to get in a hearty workout last night without any pain. I must have just bruised it real good because I'm not having trouble walking anymore.
I didn't see Dr Phil but I am going to have to agree on the helping yourself concept. I think when he first became popular it was refreshing to have someone "tell it like it is". Now he seems to be going down hill and his head is getting bigger. Don't get me wrong, he says a lot of things that make perfect sense. But the only person that is going to help those people is themselves. Once they make the decision to help themselves then they can turn for support. It doesn't happen just because Dr Phil says so. I get frustrated seeing other people suffer for something that is so simple yet so difficult. I think the reason is because I see myself within them and it scares me. I know I had the potential to get very heavy, I am so thankful that I was able to find a way out.
That's going to be my soul searching for the day. Right now I have to search for a solution to all this work on my desk. That is before I get fired. :D

I've been scarce all weekend :( I had a pretty horrid weekend - I caught some virus and it was like AGONY just having to get up and putter around the house, I didn't go to work all weekend :( I made it through some christmas diplays yesterday for Sears - I'm gonna go back tomorrow and finish the thing. Well the good thing about being sick is that you a lot of weight...:p I got on the scale the other day and I was a few pounds down! Finally I'm not too fat for my scale!! The BAD thing about being sick is that you don't really concentrate on being healthy.
My goals today is to do some weights, probably before I run uptown to do my errands. I finally don't feel too weak to do some walking!

Once again, I have a short and sweet post and I'm tired of it. :mad: Work has been hopping today, and then when I get home, I have to head out to Walmart to go shopping, so I'm not sure what time I will be home tonight, but I had to stop in real quick.
Thanks so much for all the well wishes. I was really happy when she told me I had lost 8.8, although not happy that we no longer take off 2 lbs. for clothes and shoes. What's that about?
Thin: YOU are an :angel: I want you to know that I had just got home from work on Saturday, crawled in the bed sick as a dog.....when dh came in the room and said here's something to cheer you up. I knew the handwriting right away.... what a love you are!
Sandy: I have to say that #1. I am SO happy to see you back in full force and posting like your usual self. Also, the way I have found it, is that you have to add 2 pts. to your lowest before, and that is your goal for the day. For instance, for my weight, my range used to be 30-35. Now, on Flex my point limit is 32. You have to eat that amount a day. Do not go under. If you do go under, you do not carry over. If you don't use them, you lose them. If you need to go over your goal, then you dig into your Flex. You can use them all at once, splice them out or however. I hope that helps you.
Ok, other that that, I'm gonna have to go for now. Please know I haven't forgot about you. I'm just now rebounding from being sick and work is just too busy to try to even gather my thoughts. If I don't get back too late tonight, you can count on a big ol' long post!

I did something good for me today. Get this, I have been off plan so long seems like I have eatten out everyday forever now. Well I went to town to deposit hubbys check and pay some bills and stuff and I was so hungry and that little :devil: in my head said just go ahead and stop at McDonalds or go to Paco's Taco's. Well I fought and I fought and I made the car go straight past it all and I am home now and eatting lunch with you, and having a Boca Burger on a lowfat roll with some garlic hummus spread on it, and some wow chips and some beets. I feel so much better, 1 step at a time again.

:?: They never let us subtract anything, shoes, boots, clothes, if their on you when you're on the scale they're part of what you weigh. That's why when the cold weather comes I always wear the same, boring, but light weight ;) sweats (they look like the funny material long underwear is made of), and make sure my socks don't have any holes. :lol:

Hey...WE never got to subtract for clothes either...I always try to go in the lightest clothes too! My scrubs for work are the best! Shoes come off...glasses, watch, rings, false teeth...(just kidding...) You know what I love about the Flex Points? It's like having insurance...if you go over, it isn't the end of the world...use the points to cover and move on, instead of saying, "oh I blew it now, might as well keep eating, I'm already off track..." Or something like that...It's all mind game...but it works.
Last night I made the best chicken! So easy and very yummy...So here's my Tuesday Tip:
1 package drumsticks, 1 package thighs--skin removed
1/2 head cabbage, chopped
1/2 half large onion, sliced
1 can chicken broth
1/2 package Good Seasons Italian Dressing mix
Place in crockpot: cabbage, onion, chicken sprinkled with dressing, pour broth over all. (I didn't have room for all the chicken in the crockpot, so I baked some also...no need for broth in the oven...bake @ 350 for about 45 minutes) I set the the crockpot on high and cooked it for about 4 hours. :T The only points are for the chicken: 2 points for a drumstick, 3 points per thigh...very good...the boys loved it.
I had success brown rice in the pantry, so I made a package of that to go with it. The rice cooks in a bag, and when I opened it, I thought, Wow, that's not a lot of rice...(talk about your portion programming!) I measured 1/4 cup out for myself (1 pt), thinking, well I'll have another 1/4 cup if that's not enough. But it really was enough!
So there's another tip: Try serving yourself half of what you normally have, knowing that you can have more, if you really need it. Chances are you don't !
I'm glad the books finally got there, Mary...there should be another box, I sent them both the same day. I have more, will send them when the next decluttering phase hits!
Sandy...good for you! You probably had more to eat by coming home anyway...and saved $$$!

Hi guys... just a quick hello. I spent the entire day running errands.
I returned over $200 worth of stuff I bought to decorate with... then did not like it. :rolleyes:
I had to get it returned so I had some money to buy other stuff.
I have to have my house done by next spring when this wonderful bunch of lovely ladies are coming to visit me. At the rate I am getting things accomplished... it won't be done by then. LOL
I also went shopping for supplies for our trip. Bottled water was at the top of my list. Plus hair dye. :lol: I have more gray hair than normal color. Geesh. Getting old just keeps slapping me in the face. LOL
Food was good today. Not enough water with all of this running.
I leave tomorrow.. hopefully I can get in here before I leave. But if not... MISS ME !!! That's an order. :drill: LOL

Rise and shine chicklets, the sun is not peeking out today here in Maine, but I know it's morning and time to face another day.
Yesterday was great, I ended up having 30 of my 31 points allowed when I figure it the way Tina told me to. Monday the first day when I was done adding I went over by 2 but will just subtract from the flex points available.
Now, the only thing I need help on is knowing how to figure in the exercise, not that I have done any major thing yet, but was wondering about the activity points. How long do you have to exercise to earn an activity point etc.??? Any takers on that question?

Terri: I'm finding xp is different that the 98 on the 3fc site and maybe many other places but I don't visit too many other places. Now when I go to do like bold or a color or something a box pops up on me that never did before and I can just use that one option unless I go back and type in the vb code things to use lots of choices at one time. Good luck with it.
2Cute: How could we never not "Miss you" your always missed when you are gone. Hope you have a safe trip. Drink lots of water.....
Mary: Hope you got something good to eat after that bad experience with the carb bar thing. I don't eat those at all, I'm more of a quantity girl..:lol: I like to have lots on my plate and that little bar just would not do it for me. For instance today, here it is morning and I have not yet had breakfast, still debating what to have, but I am thinking what can I take for lunch today. So I have decided that I will take my boca burger and roll, and one of those big ole salads I used to have. That will still leave me plenty of points for the day. I like to have my big meal at night with the family usually.
Syn: I'm with you. I may be close to the 300 mark, but baby I feel I can get this body just a moving to do a shimmy to a good old country song or a pop song. I love to dance and hey, what the heck it gets the blood pumping and the body in motion, thats what it's all about. Country music is my all time favorite.
Kat: Your chicken recipe sounds :T I love to find new ways to cook it. My hubby gets bored with it real fast. Thanks for a new twist.
Tina: Still happy for your 8.8 lb loss. I can't justify taking the 2 lbs off here for the clothes....lol, I weigh myself naked....got to get every ounce off you know.....but, I remember when I went to TOPS, I always took off the shoes and any heavy jewlery and if I was cold and wore a sweater or sweatshirt, I had a t shirt on under to weigh with and shorts or very very very light pants. Oh the head games we play with ourselves. Anyway my official starting weight this time around on Monday was 290 even. We will see what Monday brings. But, you all know what a scale aholic I was before, so you know I have been on the scales already this am and happy it is moving down down down. :)
I'm off for work now and will check in later I am sure, I guess I'm back to my posting self.....does this bother anyone? I love coming here and finding stuff to read. Maybe I am helping someone else with this need to read from someone on the thread....hahaha.....love ya all.

Does it bother YOU when WE post a lot? I didn't think so. That's what this forum is for...POSTING! And lots of it! I find it very helpful to read everyone's spin on this weight control thing. Lots of good ideas are shared, as well as things that I know I have thought, "ooh, nobody else could possible feel this way..." and other people are experiencing and sharing the same feelings...VALIDATION...that's the word I was looking for!
Validation, support, sympathy, empathy, VENTING, friendship, love...we got it all!

Yesterday, I rode my bike for 1 hour and 15 minutes. I know I burned off the nibbling I did, in the morning after work. I came in RAVENOUS and proceeded to pick. I was very disappointed in myself, but I sat down later and figured out the points of my nibbles, journaled them, and it really wasn't as bad as I had thought at all. I still came in with a point to spare! At ny last WW meeting, the leader spoke of being accountable for all the BLTs that we eat...bites, licks and tastes. Being a grazer, I knew exactly what she was talking about! I nibbled a good 7 points yesterday morning before I put a stop to that!
This morning, my son and I were having breakfast together, I made us egg sandwiches. I, of course, came in from work starving, having not eaten anything since 7:00 last night. So I had my sandwich and was very satisfied with it. He left about 2/3 of his on his plate. How easily I could have just gobbled that down, without a second thought. He even said, "go ahead, you finish it!" (how well he knows me) I gave it to the dog. Once I totalled up the points, I thought it's not worth it. I'll have something good for lunch later, if I don't eat this now. The fact that I was full didn't even enter my mind. I'm learning, I'm learning.
Another pre-Isabel beautiful day here in NJ. They have downgraded the storm, so hopefully it won't be as bad as originally feared. Batten down your hatches, east coast chicks! :rain: :crossed:
Okay...I'm off to walk this morning with some girls from work. We're meeting a a lovely park and plan to hit the trails. I'm bringing my doggie...she saw me take the leash out before I sat down here and has been beside herself since.

Just popping in for a quick Hello. I am waiting for someone to come get our bags then I am going to sit in the lobby and read while I wait for Jeff to finish up his meetings. We are moving to another hotel today since the conference it over.
We've been having a great time. The weather has been beautiful other than a quickie thunderstorm we were caught in last night. I'm hoping that none of us get hit with Isabel. We are scheduled to fly back home on Sat. morning. Hopefully there won't be any problems with flights.
I hope everyone is having a great week. I'm not sure if we'll have internet access at the new hotel so I may not be back until Saturday evening!
