GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's three to read:D

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

IT WILL COME

Work patiently toward the goal you've set, and it will come. The setbacks are no reason to quit, but are in fact confirmation of the necessity to push forward.

To create something of lasting value requires lasting effort and commitment. Act with diligence, with persistence, with patience, and it will come.

If you seek to get it now and then work for it later, you'll end up cheated, disappointed or worse. Instead, make the effort now, work patiently toward it, and it will come.

Build the value that you desire to experience. Build it with each thought, each action, each moment and each day.

Build a bright future with integrity and persistence, with faith, patience and love. And it will come.

-- Ralph Marston

**************
RESILIENCE

The best thing to do when the worst thing happens is to begin moving forward again. The real essence of strength is in resilience. Drawing upon and exercising such strength will make it grow ever stronger. Make the commitment to bounce back and you end up at an even higher level, an even stronger position than before.

It is indeed difficult to begin going forward when your world has just been devastated. Yet time and time again, people do, and as they move persistently ahead, the world does too.

The resilience of a positive purpose knows no defeat, for each setback serves to move it forward. It requires much effort and sacrifice, yet it is worth the cost. For with resilience we steadily rise above higher and higher levels of challenge. With resilience we move our lives beyond our fears, and forge ahead in the direction of the best we can be.

On this day especially, consider the power of resilience. And do what must be done to move yourself and your world positively and lovingly forward.

-- Ralph Marston

Have a wonderful day, and a fabulous week!!!!!

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGES:

As usual we continue with to TRY AND GET IN AT LEAST 64 OUNCES OF WATER A DAY and TRY TO GET IN AT LEAST 3 DAYS WORTH OF EXERCISE and post it on the exercise board.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE:

Take at least one day out this week and list what liquids you had for the day. Do you just drink water? Is tea your main intake? What about soda? Do you rely on coffee? How much of whatever do you drink? How do you keep track of your water intake?

Here's our ongoing
CHALLENGE FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER This challenge is optional, as everything on this board is, but I hope you will all take the month out and try to do this.

In the past I've wanted to do a STORY BOARD. A more in-depth of each persons individual struggles with their weight and the story behind how they came to where they are now and how they came to go on SB. I know many people ask me about my history and thought having a STORY BOARD would be a good idea.

So, here's your challenge, take the month and write about your struggles, triumphs, highs, lows, etc. in regards to your weight. Try to give it a nifty title if you can (if you need help coming up with one, just ask) and give the reason why you chose that particular title. A good word to use is WEIGHT. I will post a new board just for this challenge on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS, or do you think we should keep it here on the weekly board area? I hope you will all join me in it. If you have any questions at all, just ask. Don't think it's a good idea - tell me!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

Good Monday Morning.

Glad to be back on the board. I mis syou guys on the weekends. I'm gonna have to do something about getting a computer at home. Both kids took the ones we had.

Weekend was good. Went to happy hour as usual on Friday. Drank ice tea. Saturday went to a friend's house to watch the ballgames. I took a taco salad I found in a health magazine. It was really good. I took my ww pita chips I made so I was set there. The girl made a turkey so I went and bought so ww bread and we had turkey sandwiches for supper. I was feeling so good about my eating and no alcohol. Sunday we went to the Indy Colts game. I took 2 pieces of ww bread with me, but we never ate at all at the stadium. I had some peanuts in my purse so that held me over. We stopped at a really neat place called "Cheeseburger in Paradise" a Jimmy Buffet place. The margaritas and pina coladas looked out of this world. I did not partake at all. I ordered the cheeseburger and took it off the bun. I did have some onion straws instead of the fries. They were breaded but I hadn't had any bread at all for the day. When we got home, I walked 2 miles just to counter act them. In all, I think my weekend eating was really good. Was hoping the scale would be down today, but it stayed right where it has been since WIW.

Hope everyone had a great weekend and is ready to start this week off OP and going strong.

Monet, have a great day at work. Don't work too hard.

Toni, you aren't the only person that hadn't seen Greek wedding. I just watched it last week. I was very disappointed in it. Everyone raved about it. But I only thought it was OK. I really liked How to Lose a Guy in 10 days.

Deb, National Merit Scholarship is a great honor. Tell Michael congrats. :bravo:

Things should be slower this week, so I am planning on being back later.

Have a great one!

Good Monday Morning to you all!!! Thanks for the motivational quote Deb. Resilience is a ggod thing for me to think about this morning.......
Jack K- Congrats on your on plan eating this weekend!! It sounds like you had some fabulous willpower and determination!!! You were placed in some sticky situations, foodwise, but overcame it. you are RESILIENT!!!!

I went grocery shopping last night to ensure staying on plan this week. I always avoid the sugar, but without adequate preparation, the vending machine will be calling my name. The only cheat I had this weekend was some popcorn at the movies. That is by far, my number 1 addiction. I gave it up my first 2 years on SugarBusters, but re-introduced it into my diet after that. I just could not live without it. I don't eat it often though (maybe 1 x a month). For those of you who asked earlier, I have 20 pounds to go until I reach my goal weight. It has definitely been a slow journey, but I am incredibly healthy as a result. Hope all of you have a fab day. Will check in later-

Good Monday morning everyone. We've got a whole new week to do what we wish with.... I started out with 17 min. on the TM and I'm really pleased. It takes me sooo long to work myself up but each week I'm adding to my time. 20 min. is my goal and hopefully more after that. But thats what the doctor's have recommended for me. I did fine over the week-end with eating and hope it continues this week. So far I've had 2 1/2 cups of coffee to drink and I'm starting on my water now. I use a 30 oz. hospital cup for my water and fill it 3 times. But usually only drink 2 1/2 of it. Which comes out about 84 oz.

Debilli- I like your motivation today. Especially IT WILL COME. Since mine is going sooo slow.

Monet- Good morning. Yep nice clean board to start out on. This is going to be a great week...

Jack-K- Wow what a great week-end you had. You are such an example of how to get through all the traps of a busy time and still have fun. I admire you for being so strong.

jackieO- Glad you had a nice week-end and sounds like you did good. There are just some things its hard to live without!!!

Well will go for now.... Have a good one everyone.....

Hey! I'm finally back to a place where I can (hopefully) post regularly again!

Things have settled down since last Tuesday's referendum (we lost--bit time) and I'm slowly getting my life and house back in order.

I wasn't able to even read the board for the last 10 days, so if anything has happened I need to know about, please fill me in.

I'm sure we have some new folks that have come on the board since then--so welcome!

Monet--have a good day at work. I've got some bread working in the bread maching, but since I don't have my four--I know it won't be as good! :( What is your work schedule for the next couple of weeks?

Toni--Goof for you gettin on the tread mill this am! I'm actually going to try to get over to the gym during lunch today. I drank beer all afternoon with the manager of the health club (don't ask) but he has shamed me into gettin my arse back over there!

JackieO--20 lbs until goal--that's great! I'm shopping for the same reason today. Got to get the good foods back into the house. When I get into full election mode I'm out everynight and end up eating fast food for almost every meal. It's not that there is bad food in the hous--there is NO food!

Jackie--It sounds like you did great this weekend! I was pulling for UK on Saturday night--but alas!

Deb--Sorry I missed your call last week. It was intense! But hopefully I'm back on the board now. Im definatley on board with this week's challenges!

I hope everyone has a good OP week this week. Remember--you only have to manage this day and we can do anything for a day!

Good Monday Mornign Everyone:wave:

Sorry I wasn't around much over the weekend, I just can't bear working on this computer. I'm praying the desktop will be running tomorrow night.

I was up very early AGAIN this morning as you may have seen by the time I posted up the new threads. It's going to catch up with me for sure real soon.

Garage sales pretty much sucked on Saturday. There weren't many and it started to rain. I managed to get in a few though. I think what BOB was talking about as far as my find goes was some bottles of PROACTIV for LAUREN. I got her 4 bottles, 2 of 2 kinds, brand new unexpired for $7.00 (lady was asking $20). Found 2 bottles a few weeks ago for .50 which was a better buy but were newly expired but still good to use. What I found at the last garage sale I went to was an Oster BreadExpress breadmaker. I've always thought about getting one but they were too big and I figured I'd probably never use it. Probably will never use it, but this one is small and compact. After reading reviews on the web about it, I'm glad I bought it. It's like brand spanking new, lady said it was probably used 3 times, just didn't have the instruction manual, which I can get from the web thankfully, but couldn't pass it up for $2.00!:fr: I'm going to the library as I found 2 breadmachine books that look like they may have recipes for whole grain breads.

This weekend I have to admit, I was really horrible with my eating. Let's just say, it started with the crustless cheesecake I made! I was almost at 4 weeks (today) of being 100% OP - I blew it! Of course, today is a new day and I'm going to try and get back on track after this whirlwhind of a weekend. I'm going to blame this time on ELI and my sexual frustration!!!! Hey, sounds like a good excuse to me;)

Yesterday, on the way home we stopped at the fruit market and when they are getting ready to close up they sell stuff really cheap. I have sooo many lemons, I must of gotten at least 3 dozen for $2.00! I still have some from last week. Not a problem, we use them a lot and I figured that I'd make some lemon-aid. Also got some prickly/cactus pears 24 nice size ones for $7 - we just bought a few at the store before for $1.99 a pound, up from .99 cents a pound last time, so this was a great price at .25 cents a piece. A few odds and ends, but always a bargain.

I have a bunch of calls to make this morning for our Academy Night at MICHAEL'S school tomorrow. ELI's store is sponsoring the event and we are all bringing backed goods. LAUREN is making the Mexican Wedding Cookies for me - you think I'm making something, think again! Unfortunately, these are my favorite cookies, but I'm trying to convince myself that I won't touch them and will wait to eat some during the holidays:shrug:

Want to get in some replies before I am out of time...

Okay, so I wrote the above early this morning - in a matter of minutes, things do change!!!!

I came home from taking the kids to school, all ready to go for my walk, had my fanny pack on and was putting in a new battery for my Walkman, ready to get some water and I hear ELI calling my name. I go in the bedroom and he tells me he's dizzy and nauseous, the room is spinning, can't even figure out how many fingers I'm holding up. There went the walk and in walked the emotional demon! He looked awful and when it seemed it would go away, when he sat up, back down he had to go, for a good hour from when I walked in the house. I wanted him to go to the Dr. but he said another day:shrug: He has his review this morning, not something he wanted to miss. Was ready to drive him, but he was finally feeling better, but still a bit woozy.

So with that all I could do is eat! I just KNEW that I was in trouble from that moment on. I tried to fight it, honestly, but I knew that I wasn't going to win today so I ate. Well, if anyone is wanting to eat off plan today, forget about it, I've probably eaten whatever for you! I know tomorrow will be better, that is, unless some other crap happens that really throws me for a loop-G-D forbid!

Anyhow, I'm going to be a bit scarce for the next couple days, not because of my eating, heck I need to be on here more than ever, but I have a bunch of stuff to do today to get ready for tomorrow. I've already made 50 phone calls to parents and I have to go make sure we have everything ready for tomorrow night. Have a ton of errands to run as well.

This computer is getting worse-doesn't even register the right time! As I type this, the computer isn't even loading the 3FC'S site. Tried to pay for a plate my aunt wanted me to order for her on Ebay, couldn't, got some weird message.

Anyhow, I'll try to come and check the board as I'm able, just won't have time for individual posts, which I hope you understand, just til I get back with the new computer, which hopefully will be Wed!

Oye, wish me well:^:

Good morning! Well Im gonna copy and paste what I wrote last night..since its a new week and I dont think you will read last weeks board. Soooo if you have already read it, then dont go any further. :)

Hey everyone....

Its been a long hot day around here. Left for the game around 1pm and didnt get home til 9pm. It was sooo miserably hot. I mean miserable is an understatement. My face is fried, my legs are killing me, my back hurts...and we LOST in overtime. It would of been so much better to be on my couch with the a/c on.
Anyway, my good news....All morning I kept saying to myself, and my husband...its ok to drink a few beers...Im going to a game with a bunch of people, everone else will be drinking..its not gonna kill me ! So we get to the store to get ice and beer for the cooler. All I kept thinking is DEB DEB DEB, so I wanted to call her so she could tell me its ok to have a few. Well I didnt call cause I knew she wouldnt say it was ok. Then I thought about all you guys, and I wound up getting 4 bottles of water instead of a six pack! I have to say, I am very proud of myself. You guys should be proud of yourselves as well, cause if it werent for this board I would of had beer. I also brought my own "legal" sandwich from home, instead of eating at the game. Just wanted to fill you guys in on my day! Have a great Monday!

JENN - I have used ww pita for the crust twice and I love it!

BOB - How about that game UGH! What a waste of my time...Im so mad at them!

MONET - I avoided it!

Good Monday morning; I hope everyone had a fantastic weekend. I will really try to do better on the challenges; it seems like I always forget.

So far today, I've had 6 ounces of milk wtih my oatmeal. I know for a fact I will have at least 56 ounces of water. I am going to go to the gym, and I bring a 32 oz with me there, and usually finish it within an hour of leaving the gym. I also always have with me my 24 oz of water, which I will finish and refill, but don't always drink the full refill.

I made that delicious zucchini loaf cake last night and had two slices of of (thick slices), but I then cut it up into individual slices and froze them. I love to have these on the mornings I go to the gym really early and don't have time for breakfast. I will usually eat one of those on the way to the gym and then come home and have some sort of fruit (grapes or cantaloupe).

jecrites: I'm sure that peer pressure will eventually correct the thumb sucking. My 5-year old (who used to suck her thumb) is a toe-walker; she has been since she has been walking. We took her to see an orthopedic surgeon who said that her tendon in the back of her foot has shortened, and it is difficult for her to walk flat-footed. We encourage her to walk on her heels whenever we can, as well as flat-footed, but it is so hard for her. The surgeon wants to see her once a year, and told us that peer pressure usually resolves these issues. So sad that kids will have to make fun of her for her to start walking normal. He also said that if it gets bad enough, they may have to make a slit in the tendon to release it. I don't want it to come to that. Kids; don't you just love 'em?

angehaley: Your story cracked me up. Yes, a little extreme, but we parents will do anything when we get desperate enough. I am so thankful that my youngest took to her pacifier over her thumb, at least I can eventually take that away. You can't take their thumbs away (unless they get black and fall off  ).

chrisd: I am so glad we have such an impact on you. Between finding us and your own willpower, you are going to succeed beyond your expectations. You really don't feel too great drinking beer when you are on this woe; take it from my own experience. You are so much better off for it today also. Way to go...give yourself a huge pat on the back from all of us.

Jack: You did so awesome with your eating over the weekend. You have got to be one of the best plan-ahead people I know, as well as a wonder on your will-power. You should be very proud!

JackieO: Good luck this week; you're going to do great. I wouldn't worry about popcorn occasionally, as long as you don't eat the entire tub yourself, and douse it with that artificial butter flavor stuff. I have popcorn quite often, and it has never had a bad effect on me. I usually will have about one cup of it when everyone else is having some, and I stop at that. If it is one thing that you just don't want to live without.....then don't. You should allow yourself whatever it is that you want from time to time so you don't feel deprived. It is important to not feel like you are denying yourself something that you enjoy. That could be the difference is succeeding and not succeeding. I think Deb posted something awhile back saying that popcorn is like carrots, and actually is not considered as bad as once thought for this woe.

Toni: 3 minutes from goal on the TM; that is fantastic. You are doing great....you will get there soon. Keep up the good work.

Fillise: Welcome back!

Deb: Wow, you have found some great buys at garage sales. I have to get back out there and hit some, I just know that if I start going on Saturday mornings, I will talk myself out of going to the gym, and go spend money instead. I'm waiting to splurge on my sweet goodies over the holidays as well. I am going to allow myself to have a few things I normally wouldn't have; I hope it doesn't cause a down-spiral for me. You should encourage Eli to see a doctor, just to rule out anything serious. Sometimes minor things can turn to major ones if they are not caught early. I'm sure it is nothing, but I am sure you and he would feel better if he at least talked to the doctor. So, you had a few bad days of eating; think of all the hard work you have done over the past four weeks, and get back on track. You don't want to blow what you have worked so hard for!!! Put it behind you and move on; today is a new day and the beginning of a brand new week!! Hang in there;) .

Well, I guess I better run and get a few things done around here.

Take care, and have a great day!

Good morning ALL!

Thought I'd better check in & let everyone know how things are going. DD & baby Winston came home Wed last week & returned to admit him on Friday night due to elevated billirubin level. It went up to 22.8 & he needed to be under the light & have IV fluids. He's ok now & on his way home this morning.

So as you can see, things have been a little hectic here. My eating has not been great either, but I am holding at 150. UGH!!!

Something else that I have not shared with all of you is that Dh has been called to pastor a church about 30 miles away & he will be ordained on Sept 28th. I knew when I met him 14 years ago that he had surrended to preach years ago & that was his first love. He has longed to pastor a church & has been preparing for it all his adult life. He is very excited to finally have the opportunity. I'm excited too, but also a little scared of the responsiblity that goes along with it. But that is in God's hands.

Well got to go. Just wanted to touch bases with all of you. Will try to pop in as I can.

Hello all.

If the rest of this week is going to be like today I want to skip it and go right into next week. My I.D. card expired Saturday and I had totally forgotten about it until late Friday night, and of course I had to wait until today to go get a new one. Well, I went up there by myself and wouldn't you know when I finally do that I needed hubby with me. Because he's the one in the Air Force he has to be there to sign the paper. Of course at the time I went up there, he was out working and not all that easy to reach. The girl in there working was nice enough to make me a temp. I.D. card that would last for 30 days so I would be able to do a few things I needed to do today. Hubby came home for lunch early and we went back up there and got my regular I.D. card. That's not the only thing to happen today either. I called the pharmacy to refill my allergy med, and they hung up on me after they were supposed to confirm my prescription. I hate dealing with an automated phone thingy.

Well I have to run out once again to pay a bill that I never got a statement for, but I'll check back in when I get back. Talk to y'all later.

:) Happy Monday

Hi All. Had a good weekend. Went to a block party and really enjoyed seeing the neighbors. As busy as we all are it is about once a year that we get to catch up and that was nice.

I really liked Deb's Motivational thoughts this morning. I think facing the problems we have and the life challenges are the hardest part of losing weight. I'm definitely an emotional eater and anytime something knocks me off course, my first thought is to soothe myself with food. Breaking that habits is the toughest. I know last week was a big struggle for me. But, each day that I get right back on track, I feel better.

Fillise: WELCOME BACK! We missed you. I was upset we didn't win. Not sure how things will be now...

Deb: Hope Eli gets better. Don't let the stress get to you. See my note above. We can do this!

Monet: have a good day at work. Hope it isn't too busy for you. I know with Halloween coming, then Thanksgiving and Christmas the bakery area will be a zoo!

Toni: Way to go on the treadmill! I love to walk and will be shopping for a TM soon. What kind do you have?

JackieO: I know what you mean about keeping the good foods in the house. If they aren't here, it becomes crisis time for me.

Jackie: You really did great this weekend. Makes you feel good too doesn't it?

Melf: Hope baby Winston gets better soon. I know you will really enjoy him when you can get him home and settled.

Well have to run...have a great week. Oh...My motivational thought for the week:

"Life is a coin...you can spend it anyway you want but you can only spend it once."

Got in from work a little while ago. I got a lot done, but boy am I feeling tired! And my back is killing me. Not usual for me...

Fillise: I work Monday through Wednesday this week and next from 7am to 12. Thursday mornings, I teach a cake decorating class. Any afternoon, or Friday morning is good. This weekend, I am going on the women's retreat from church, and the next weekend my sister is coming into town. After that, I don't know of anything ... I can always leave work a bit early too. The manager doesn't seem to care.

MELF: Congrats to your hubby! That is neat that he has been called to pastor a church. Especially if it has been a dream of him. I hope his efforts are blessed!

Off to get some stuff done!

Hello Sugar Buster Friends!

I just have a few minutes. Thought I'd report on my progress.

i finished the 2 week "phase one" of SO BE diet. I was 99.9% on plan the entire 2 weeks. A couple of nights I had a couple of DH's chips. Saturday we went to a seminar where both breakfast (muffins) and lunch were served. I brought a hard boiled egg and some ham for my breakfast. For lunch I skipped the lasagnas and had a big plate full of salad and a sandwich . The bread looked dark and I did have one bite, but after that, I just ate the filling. I even brought my agave to sweeten the coffee! Went to Outback that night and got steamed veggies instead of the potato, but I did have iced tea (here it is already sweetened) and a few of the battered mushrooms. Yesterday was the worst day--I guess cause I figured it was the last day. I had an ice cream cone! But I didn't enjoy it, so I don't think I'll be having ice cream for a while.

I didn't weigh after the 2 weeks cause TOM is here. And I bloat up. Today I'm finding I have to control myself cause I want to eat lots of fruit and some bread which I couldn't have the past 2 weeks. I had a sandwich and I'm looking forward to an apple later. We have nice necterines at home too. I'm not really wanting starches (I wanted the bread to have something to put my egg salad on besides a lettuce leaf or a piece of ham--that was getting boring). I'm not planning on making a starchy thing for dinner and havn't made my guys a starch for a while. They don't seem to miss it.

Anyway, I'm hoping I kept off the almost 5 lbs I had lost the first week. I am able to wear shorts and pants that didn't fit at the beginning of the summer. So something is gone. DH says he can see the difference too.

now I just have to get back to the exercising. At least with DS in school, I'm walking to and from the school twice a day. One day I'll see what that distance is.

I hope everyone had a nice weekend and I wish us all a good OP week.

Take care Everyone!

Just a quickie to catch up.

My liquids today so far have been:
2 cups of coffee, 1 cup of tea and i glass of tea. 16 oz of water.
My water is down today as my stomach is killing me and water doesn't sit too well. I should have milk or water for dinner too.

JackieO, I wouldn't worry so much about the popcorn especially if you only do it 1x a month. I use regular popcorn and microwave it in a brown lunch sack. Spray it with Pam and add some salt. It can't be that bad for you. Good luck on your 20 pounds. Slow wins the race.

Toni, you are doing great on the TM. Just be careful and don't overdo it. Good job on the weekend eating.

Fillise, It's about time! I know you have been busy, but we have missed you. I guess drinking beer had a good outcome if it gets you back to the gym. Thanks for pulling for the cats, but I don't think there is a win in there except for Vandy (maybe)

Deb, Hope Eli is feeling better. He should be careful driving like that. TMI on that sexual frustration thing!!:o

Chris, you did great at the ballgame. Makes you feel so good afterwards doesn't it. With determination like that, you will do fine.

Pancho, don't want to depress you, but I sucked my thumb for way too many years. I can't even tell you how old I was as it is so embarrassing. I guess it was insecurities. Go going on freezing the bread, That way you won't be tempted to keep eating it.

Melf, glad the baby is doing ok and is on his way home for some spoiling by grandma. Congrats to your DH. I know he will feel satisified now.

Jenn, I'm with you. If the week doesn't get better, we'll skip it.

Beachfan, when that stress gets us, we have to stop and think about what we are doing and the consquences. Maybe then we can control it. Liked your MM too.

Monet, get some rest and maybe some heat on that back or ice.

Zanne, congrats on the 5 lbs and your 2 week induction being over. You did great. Now just be careful adding back. You are strongly motivated and doing great.

Trying to get out the door to our other site, so won't be back today... Have a great evening.

The afternoon fell apart... My son's roommate called. Her car died, and her boyfriend was on his way to class, and could not come help her. So I drove up to get her. She left mid afternoon, when my son came and picked her up to hang out with him at work. I had fallen asleep and she did not want to stay here. I woke up, and she was gone! Now she needs someone to go up and look at the car with her. I do not understand her...

I think dinner was nibbling on freshly made beef jerky, and a green and yellow kiwi. I don't feel very good, so that ought to do it for me.

JACK: I am sorry your tummy is giving you troubles. You are not alone! I know a bunch of people complaining about the same stuff...myself included. I drank a big glass of milk for lunch...and boy did it taste good!

ZANNE: I can't wait to hear the final number on your first two weeks on the So Beach diet. Make sure you report it when you weigh in! You did really well. Isn't the second phase like SB?

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!!

Just now had a chance to sit down and read the board. BUSY MONDAY AT WORK!!! I think every local is trying to get their medical work done before the SNOWBIRDS swoop down on us! :dizzy:

# 1....SUSAN!!!! Are your Mom and Dad in the danger zone? I'm hoping that they head your way to escape this monster! Glad to have you back...Did you download the new
Accelerator from Earthlink.? I did, but I'm not sure about it...will give it a try before deleting it. Scratch MS BELLE for me!

CHRIS...I got so frustrated with the game that I retreated to the back of the house! My Mom told me today that THE BUCS are protesting the refs that called the game yesterday and they won't be back in TAMPA again! They were horrible!
Glad you did so well with the temptations...GOOD GIRL!!!

JACKIE...I didn't know you didn't have a computer anymore at home....I've been sending you jokes! I guess they will be there when you hook back up! :?:

ZANNE...GOOD GOING ON THE SB plan...I'll be anxious to hear how much weight you lost...How's the munchkin ???

BEACH....Block partys are so much fun...glad you enjoyed yours...you needed something after that game! I tried to yell them into a win, but they just wouldn't listen!

MELF...I'm so happy for your DH....that's a wonderful calling..Sorry that he has to drive the distance, but it will be worth it!
Glad to hear that Winston is doing better...get a picture of him on the board to show us as he grows....

PANCHO...good going to keeping that water with you...NOW...get to drinking the REFILL!!!

TONI...good going on the TM....did you get that laundry done????
I slacked on my person laundry and dug in the closet for something to wear this morning....Just so happens that I found ANOTHER dress that I hadn't worn in a long while!!!

JEC...Sorry about the ID...that can be a pain..at least you were able to pick up a temp....

Well...Hope I didn't miss anyone.... if I did.....

GO VOLS!!!! 5 more days till the BIG GAME with GATOR!!!!

I hope anyone in Isobel's path is taking precautions. Looks like a really bad one. I'm sending good thoughts to you all. As of this evening, we might even get a part of it way up here!

I had an apple and I had a glass of milk today. Those are the 2 things I REALLY wanted for 2 weeks. I'm going to have to be careful of not reintroducing too much back at once. I actually think my stomach shrunk. But there's so much GOOD food I'd like to eat.

I think I figured out too that if I have a good amount of protein with my evening meal, I don't feel like snacking in front of the TV later.

THANK YOU EVERYONE for posting! Even tho I may not get on here often, I try to read the posts and you all are great inspirations!

JACKK-thanks for the congrats. I'll do my weight and measurements in a few days.

MONET--Yup! second phase of SOBE is like SB. But I think doing the 2 week induction really helped. I don't think I'm eating as much at meals--I got used to eating all thru the day. You're such a nice person helping that girl out.

BOB--Thanks! And how nice of you to remember the Munchkin! I don't call him that too often here, at least I didn't think so. He's wonderful and enjoying grade one. I'll tell him "Auntie Bob" says hi!

DEB--Hope your computer will be working soon. Hope Eli is feeling better. Congrats to Michael.

Gotta go.

Hello all:

Before I forget, I'd like to do an unofficial poll: For those of you who eat the Shelton's Pot Pies, do you like the turkey or chicken the best???? Just curious, as I've only had the chicken.

I am going to lunch with a friend at T.G.I.F. tomorrow; any recommendations from their menu? I haven't been there in ages!

I got to the gym today and got my full workout in. I then took my DD to Costco after school to pick out her Halloween costume (Snow White). I broke down and got an Osterizer Blender - 14 speed; it had the milkshake blade with it. It was only $29.99. I am excited to use it.

My fluids today, so far:
6 oz of milk
6 oz milk with my iced coffee
70 oz water
1 small diet coke (14 oz)
I will have a glass of iced tea or water for dinner & more water yet today

Melf: Glad to hear Winston is doing better; it's scary when they get sick when they are that little. Cograts to your DH on fulfilling a long-time dream.

jecrites: Tomorrow will be a better day. Take a deep breath and a nice Epsom salt bath tonight and get a good night's sleep.

Zanne: Hope you kept off those 5#'s; I am sure you did. You have done so well; you should be proud.

I found a new store in the area (kinda far from my house) that carries the Agave syrup, as well as the Shelton's Pot Pies. I am going to go on Wed. and check it out. Trader Joes, Sprouts or Wild Oats do not carry the Agave syrup. I'm sure, living in the dessert, I could probably go find the plant somewhere (ha).

To everyone I didn't get around to posting, HELLO AND HAVE A GREAT WEEK!!

I'll check in tomorrow a.m.

Just a few replies.

BOB, I did manage to get hubby at his lunch break to go up there with me to get my I.D. changed from the temp to a regular one. I swear the military is a pain in the rear at times! Good going on finding another dress!!!

Melf, Sorry you all had to go through the light treatments with baby Winston. My SIL's 2 oldest kids had to do that, and her 2nd one was worse then the first was. Kerri and Autumn both had a little bit of that but not so much as to need the light, I could just put them in their diaper in the sunlight and theirs got better. Now that he's home it's time to spoil him rotten and hand him back to mom!

Pancho, I sure hope tomorrow is better! After I finally got things straightened up and nearly pulling out everyone's hair today ended up not being too bad. I did get to cleaning up the kitchen and living room after letting it just sit for a couple of weeks. It was horrible!

I'll see y'all tomorrow, gotta get the girls in the tub and then off to bed for school in the morning.

Just a quick post. I did the Monday weigh in and was at 153..yeah

Fluids for today are:

8 ounces of coffee
8 ounces of peach flavored water
48 ounces of water
and I'm working on 12 ounces of diet rootbeer. My treat for walking 9 miles today....wellllll almost 9.

I read all the post this morning but my mind is drawing a blank tonight. That is what I get for not taking notes. I do know that thanks to ChrisD I passed on the chips today. Everytime I've been tempted I thought of Chris passing on the pizza and beer.

Watching portions and nibbles really close this week. Gonna break out of this weight range! :D

Melf....so glad the little one is doing better and is at home now. Tator spent a few extra days in the neonatal icu under the lamp. He was my early boy. 6 weeks early and over 7 pounds. I can only imagine if he had went to term.

Jenn...glad your day got better.

Toni...WTG on the treadmill!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I tell my walking buddy how hard you have been working. She says wtg also.

Zanne....sounds like you did a good job sticking to plan. I bet you are going to have a great weigh in.

Fillise...welcome back.

I have kids not in bed where they belong...agh...LOL Better get on em.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Thought I'd better jump back on the board before I'm totally forgotten! Is it too late??? I'm really sorry to have been away so long. Work has really kept me busy the last few months, with lots of overtime, plus I still work a part time pet sitting job. Anyway, no more excuses. I'm going to post at least every week, even if it is just to say hello, if ya'll will bear with me.

Besides work stress, my divorce proceedings are ongoing and my husband is being as nasty as he can be about it. The good news is that I finally have an attorney and am no longer trying to do it myself. The other good news is that I haven't been eating my way through the stress and have managed to maintain my weight. I would rather have been losing, but I'm thankful not to have gained. Now, I can get busy with losing again.

Looks like there are lots of new SB'ers on the board since I was here last. I'm looking forward to getting to know all of you and getting reacquainted with my old friends! Glad to see so many of you still around!

Well, I know this is short, but at least I made here......finally!!!!!!

Time to get to bed but I promise to come back soon.

Good evening all---haven't had time to read all the posts, but wanted to make an appearance. Been pretty busy the last couple of days. Fall is making a show to let us know that it is almost time. Been covering the tomatoes at night. OOOOhhhhh......had our first taste of spaghetti squash out of the garden tonight. Man, it taste so much better than what you buy in the store.

I didn't eat any protein this morning with my breakfast, and I have been hungry all day. Do you think that would cause it?? I will be sure to eat some in the morning. I have been trying to really watch the fat, but was still over today. Darn those peanuts anyway!! Need to get them out of this house. The good news is that I haven't touch the apple pie that I made for dh. I canned some pie filling for his pies last year, so it is made with regular sugar, and white flour. Did have to use up some peaches too, and made a SB legal cobbler, and haven't had any of it either!!

I will try and find time to do more than post my exercise tomorrow. I have got to get Kitty in for her booster shots sometime this week, hopefully tomorrow while hubby is working again. I get so much done when he is gone!!

Sweet dream to you all...............

Good Tuesday morning.

Feeling somewhat better today. Felt better when I got up but as soon as I ate something the tummy started again. The only dinner I had last night was a sf milkshake and some sf, ff, choc pudding.

I tell you girls who crave chocolate, Jello instant sf pudding hits the spot. Quick to make and really chocolatey. Much better than the pre-made ones you can buy, but those aren't sf. DH loved it. I had another bowl for breakfast along with a fruit smoothie.

We did get our 3 miles in last night. I was dragging, but made it. THen DH wanted to go to Home Depot to get some weed killer. I could hardly make it. Went home and hit the couch. Couldn't manage the wt training. Hopefully be able to get back to it tonight.

Monet, Hope you are feeling better today. How sweet of your to go pickup your sons roommate. Many people would have let her fend for herself. A little rest would be great, but don't get mono again to get it.

Bob, I think you have been sending the jokes to my office computer which is fine. I rarely ever checked my email at home and didn't usually give out the address. How wonderful you finding clothes that you haven't worn in awhile. That is such a good feeling.

Zanne, it's funny how when we can't have something we crave it. At least it is good things you are craving.

Pancho, I have only tried the chicken pot pies on Deb's recommendation. Our Wild Oats carries the Agave. Pricey, but they have it.

Jecrites, hope today is better for you.

Country, 152, is that a new low for you? How much of a loss. At least you are moving again. I was at 154 this morning. Was hoping to hit the 152 by WIW but it won't happen. 9 miles is wonderful. I always think about you when we are walking our measley 3 miles. I feel so inadequate compared to how much you walk. WTG on passing up those chips. Isn't it funny how we help each other and don't even know it.
Serene, I'm so excited to see you back on the board. Now get Tranquil back here too. Glad you have been maintaining. I'm sure the divorce stuff has been stressful, but you should be very proud that you did not turn it into a reason to eat. I am so looking forward to your "weekly" posts now.

Teensy, WTG on avoiding that apple pie. That is willpower.

Need to get busy here. Hope to check back later.

Good Morning,
It's been a bit crazy around here, but it almost seems like things are getting back to normal. I hit the gym yesterday after work and did my elliptical machine and strength training circuit routine. Tonight should be more elliptical and a Pilates class. I cheated and got on the scale this morning, down 5.5 pound from last week! Am I ever excited! It makes me want to stay OP that much more...
Went shopping last night for an outfit to wear to a wedding in a couple of weeks. Down 2 sizes! And it's a beautiful burgunday velvet, and I found great black strappy shoes to go with! It was a happy night.
My thoughts and prayers are with everyone facing this hurricane, looks like Cape Hatteras area.
I keep thinking, when I want something not legal that I'm only cheating myself by doing it, and that nothing tastes as good as being thin feels. It's almost like a mantra. And although I'm not thin yet, it feels good to have people comment on the weight loss. Positive reinforcement is a wonderful thing.
Brought a salad, some grapes, and some sliced peached for lunch.
For chocolate cravings, the SF/FF instant pudding is definitely a great treat. I always try to keep some in the cupboard. A SF jello is great too.
Have a great day everyone!

Hello everyone!

I sure did not want to get up this morning, but had no choice since I have kids to get off to school. I'm hoping today will be better than yesterday, even though yesterday afternoon ended up not being bad. I don't have to go do anything today either. Tomorrow I am taking Autumn to the library for story time and then I have to go pick up my refill that didn't go through the first time I called yesterday.

I've pretty much given up on the Strawberry Shortcake pan on e-bay. Kerri has decided that she'll go with one of the character shaped pans that I already have, unless I decide to go pick up the Spongebob one from Wal-Mart. All I have to do now is go through all the crap in the basement to find my decorating tips. What fun that should be :s:

This puppy is driving me crazy today. He won't stay off the couch. He's gonna end up in his bed if he don't watch it.

I had Katie take a picture of me, but it's horrible so I'm gonna have to get a different one taken to post. Hopefully I can get that done tomorrow sometime.

Ok, enough with the dog, he's headed for bed for a while. I'll talk to y'all later.

Good Tuesday morning:

No-one has responded to my question about TGIF:( , so I guess I'll probably just order a salad:) . They are usually safe.

My DD was complaining of a sore throat last night, but seems to be doing better today; we'll see how she feels as it nears time to leave for school.

Serene: It's never too late. Welcome back; I look forward to getting to know you. Good job on keeping the weight off during such a stressful time. Good luck with the divorce proceedings.

Jack: I hope your tummy feels better real soon. I'll have to try the pudding; do you just find it with all the other puddings in the pudding aisle?

Wood: Seeing that loss sure is motivation, isn't it. That is what got me to where I am now. The scale and the comments from everyone kept me going, and not wanting to cheat at all. Congratulations to you; maybe the dress you bought will be a little loose when the time comes to wear it:D .

jecrites: I went to decorate my 5-year old's birthday castle last March and realized that I had misplaced all of my cake decorating stuff; I cannot find it anywhere; I have searched the house hi & lo, and can't locate the stuff. I've used them since we have been in this house, so couldn't have lost them during a move or anything. Oh well.....better luck to you finding your stuff. Have fun decorating. I always enjoyed it; getting everyone to bed and then staying up all by myself to complete the project. It was kind of like therapy for me.

angehaley: Sounds like you had a great time at the "cheat-fest." Hey you've done so good, and deserve to splurge every now and then. It sounds like you had no problem getting back into the swing of things. A lot of people spiral downhill and have a difficult time getting back on track. You've put it behind you and will now move on and do well until the next time you're tempted  I wasn't sure about your lifesaver comment; are you referring to lifesaver breath mint/candies? I don't ever buy those.

Well youngest DD is awake and hungry, so I better run. Have a great day!

Pancho

angehaley: You are using the ground flax seed meal -vs- the actual flaxseed, aren't you? They say that the actual flaxseed will go right through you undigested because they are so small and don't get chewed up or digested. Just FYI, but you probably already know that. Have a great day. I make the zucchini loaf with walnuts only and no sunflower seeds, and it is to die for!

Woodfrogs, Wow! 5.5 pounds in a week is awesome. 2 dress sizes down. That is some great motivation. Keep up the good work.

Angehaley, Hey don't worry about it. You planned to cheat and you did. The important thing is you got right back on track and stayed there. It may hamper the loss this week and it may not. But let it go and go forward.

Pancho, It's been a long time since I have been to TGIF. But your are always safe with a salad or chicken salad. They probably have fish, but it probably will come on rice pilaf. You could always get a steak and veggies or a burger and a side salad and not eat the bun. The pudding is located right next to the jello except the boxes are blue.

Good Morning to all of you. Happy to report that I stayed completely on plan yesterday and even did a power circuit class at my gym...sore this morning, but I am avoiding the stairs (those squats get me everytime). It sounds like you are all doing well....

Congrats to woodfrogs for your loss and getting down 2 sizes. That is incredible! keep up the good work!!!

Angehaley- I agree with everyone else....Move forward. Next time you are in the situation remember how you felt physically after eating the crap, and it may help you avoid it in the future. Every once in a while it is probably good for your body to give into cravings...just climb back on track.

Pancho- have not eaten at TGIF in years but am sure they have some sb appropriate foods. Grilled chicken and veggies is a basic kind of request. Maybe a side salad?

To everyone else I missed and the latecomers, have a great day!!!

It was so beautiful outside this morning. The morning glory is in full bloom and it's every where. It grow wild out here. Sometimes where ya don't want it to but you have to take the bad with the good. Eating was awesome yesterday for the first timein a long time I really felt in control. I ate a little more than normal but that was actually a good thing. I made some brown rice with a little cumin and fresh garlic to go with dinner last night. It tasted wonderful. I could have eaten more than half a cup but I behaved myself. :)

Jack-K....don't even feel like your miles aren't enough...Three miles is GREAT! Remember I don't work outside the home so I'm not as active as you are through out the day. Plus I have more time to get in that second walk. Woo Hoo on being back down to 154. My lowest since being OP has been 149....I want to get back there so bad. A friend called from England the other day and when she found out how much I weighed she said..aww you use to be doing so good I mean you are doing good still. Took the wind right out of my sails. :) She has gotten down to 133...I wish.

Poncho...I rarely eat out so I wouldn't begin to know what is safe to eat where. I hope they have some nice salad for you to choose from.

SERENE!!!!!!!! ((((((((hugzzz))))))))))) Of course you are NOT forgotten. Glad you have been able to maintain. It will start coming off again as things settle down. Stress is notorious for causing a slow down in losing. Praying the divorce is over soon and fairly.

Ange...you didn't do too bad. It will probably just motivate ya to do even better this week. Not a new low but at least starting to look like it's gonna move down again soon.

Barbara...WTG 5.5 pounds is awesome!

Jenn...hope today is a GREAT day for you.

Teensy...WTG staying away from the pie. I know for sure I would have had a pinch. I'm working on staying away from the pinches.

ChrisD...it really did work. Was chip free yesterday. I've always allowed myself to have 3 pringles when I get the urge but I'm not going to till I get this wayyyyyyyyyyyyy out of my system.

Monet..hope you are feeling better this morning.

I need to get and get something done this morning. Have a GREAT day.

Love,

Good Tuesday Afternoon:wave:

Just wanted to get in a quick post while I have a few minutes between phone calls, stapling, getting things together for tonight.

I got in my 4.5 miles today and I'm feeling like my old self, literally!;) Plan on being OP - not too bad, at least it wasn't a weekfest binge as I usually do, or worse.

Hoping to get my other computer up and running again tomorrow or Thursday, they came to deliver the disks yesterday, but since no one was home, they didn't leave them:shrug:

Just skimmed the board quickly, just don't have time to read all and def. no time to respond, just know I'm with you all in spirit. :)

For all those who've asked, here's the zucchini loaf cake recipe:

ZUCCHINI LOAF CAKE

1 egg
1/3c oil
1/2c + 2 Tbl agave
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1c shredded, lightly packed zucchini
1 1/2c WW flour
2 Tbl soy flour
2 TBL nonfat dry milk powder
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2c combined sunflower seeds and chopped walnuts

Good afternoon everyone! I just got in from work, and thought I would take a few minutes to relax and read posts before I have to dizz off and do stuff. I have to fix dinner for my massage therapist tonight. We trade...massage for food...works great!

I hopped on the scale when I got home...not good! I was up a pound. I am going to blame it on it being afternoon, but it may be the way I have been eating. I had a few slip ups recently, so I am not going to be too depressed about it.

Work today was interesting. My daughter told me the manager told her that he thinks the reason why I don't get as much done as she does is because I talk too much. Boy did that burn me up! He told her he timed me once, and I talked to someone for 45 minutes. I have NEVER talked to anyone for 45 minutes, the longest I talked to anyone was about 10, when a friend came in that I had not seen in over a year. I rarely talk much to my co-workers even. I don't know what the manager is up to, but I am sure it is no good. He regularly disappears, and can be found chatting to the ladies in the bank, or hanging around the customer service desk, chatting. It will be very interesting if he is brave enough to say that to my face....

Time for me to get hopping! Later!

ANGE: I had mono last fall...and the doctor made me stay in bed for six weeks. I was pretty sick! I did like the excuse to be lazy though!

DEB: Good for you keeping your cheat under control! How is Eli doing? Better?

CHRISD: I hope your back is better soon! Mine was killing me yesterday, but is much better today. I think it was the vitamin C...

COUNTRY: I love morning glories! I wish we had some growing around here.

JACKIEO: Good for you, staying OP and adding a workout!

PANCHO: My daughter has been out of school two days with a sore throat and headache. (Tho I am thinking a bit of it is more emotional, instead of physical) I have not eaten at TGIF for a long time, but they probably have something that is ok. Just ask the waitress what is in it, and you can tell them you can't have sugar. I do that, and they are very accommodating.

JECRITES: I am sorry about the strawberry shortcake pan...I have one...I wish you lived closer! You could have borrowed it. My mom was a Wilton teacher, and used to get all those pans for free. I was a Wilton teacher too, but did not get the handouts like she did!

WOOD: Wow! 5.5 pounds in a week is awesome! Keep up the great work!

JACK: I am sorry you are feeling poorly! I hope you are better soon! I wish I could eat that Jello pudding...but it has asparatame in it! Too bad these big companies don't switch to sucralose and/or ascelfame K...

TEENSY: Protein at breakfast really sticks with you. I find when I eat cereal for breakfast, I am starving by about 10. If I eat protein, like eggs, I can go until at least 12 with out getting sick from hunger.

SERENE: Nope, you have not been forgotten, but maybe in another week you might have been! .....Just kidding! Don't be a stranger, we miss you! And tell Tranquil to get her butt back on here too!

BOB: Bambi? why think of Bambi? I make my jerky with beef flank steak. Yummy!

Ok, I have to go do some stuff. Will check back later!

Well, I did it again- had a weekend binge. Saturday it was a combo from McDonald's and Sunday was a PINT of chocolate ice cream. I did my 3 mile tape yesterday and got back on track. Today I stepped on the scale and was really shocked. I expected it to be only up around 2 pounds considering I'm not puffy. Well, it's up 5!! I've never put that much on without being puffy- which means it's not fluid this time. Geez, did that put me in a bad mood. I've been depressed lately with our money situtation and ticked at Robby for putting us there(long story) and some other things. Anyway, that put the icing on the cake this morning. BUT then I stepped outside and it's so beautiful. The sky is blue, the wind is blowing the wind chimes, and it's a little bit cooler than it's been(high in the 80's instead of 90's)- Fall is just around the corner. Fall and Spring are my fave seasons. Anyway, it was a reality check for me. I'm alive and able to enjoy it. I have so many things I'm depressed about right now and angry about. But everything was put on "hold". I then was able to reflect about what I do have- I'm upset with hubby, but I love him and that's what matters. I have 2 beautiful children. One is truly God's miracle. Three years ago, I would never have thought he would be sitting next to me watching Sesame Street and just being a typical toddler. You know, sometimes you just need a time out from day-to-day life. Turn the TV off, don't read the magazines with the pretty skinny models that will only make you feel bad about yourself. Just step outside and take a breather and forget about the bills, whatever needs fixing, what you don't like about yourself, etc.. Be thankful that you are ALIVE, you have friends and family that love you.

Hello again everyone.

Well I found my stuff. My decorating tips weren't even in the basement but I did find my instructions on how to decorate the cakes down there, so it wasn't a trip down there and digging through crap for nothing.

Here's a few replies.

Ange, Wasn't that the one where the parents told the child her thumb would turn black and fall off? I think I've gotten everything from last week read.

Pancho, I did find the stuff although it wasn't in the basement. I had it in a box up in one of the tiny cabinets that gets used for nothing but junk. I did find the instructions for all 3 of my shaped pans down in the basement though, so at least it wasn't a "trip" down there for nothing.

Jack-k, I love the pudding too. I don't get to make it that often because the kids go through all the milk too fast, but when I do get the chance to make it, it sure tastes good!

Monet, I wish I lived closer too. Those pans are selling like hot cakes and for quite a bit of money too. I like to make those type of cakes for the kids and they just love that mom made it and it looks so neat. Those are the only kind I can do though, I'm not very good at any of the other stuff. I've though about taking some classes but where we live now there's probably nothing around. I have the Pooh bear holding the Hunny pot, Scooby-Doo, and Flick from A Bug's Life that she can choose from. I did finally find my directions to ice the cakes down in the basement.

Heartmom, I understand completely where you are coming from. I've been going through some of the same situations with the money thing and seeing all the pretty skinny people around. I need to take your advice and get out of here for a while and forget about the bills and just enjoy the day and the weather. Your post made me realize that I could very well be an emotional eater. I've never thought I was because I don't grab something the instant I get upset about something. I just realized that on the days I feel like everything is controlling me instead of me controlling everything I eat crap, but on good days I eat good. Wouldn't that be a kind of emotional eating?

Ok, now I'm off. Talk to y'all later.

Ange,

You don't have to wait till she's older. The very first cake I did like that was for my second daughter's first birthday. I bought the Winnie the Pooh shaped pan and went by the directions and I also got 2 of the little pans that are shaped like Pooh's head and made a few individual cakes for the kids to have too. I don't do it every year for them, but they really enjoy it when I do, and your little one would love all that colorful icing to play in!

Ange:
good thing I did not catch you at the grapevine wine fest, I was there Sat evening, I would of had to ask you of your pledge, of our Sugar Busters on this board. ( just kidding) I also had a sauage on the stick, and a mall 4% ice cream.
I got back into my weight lifing and thought I was going to do a extra set, and I did, and all that walking at the fest, the next day, my back hurt so bad that I will have to delay my workout for awhile,(Dumb,Dumb me I know better and think I still in my 30's) Anyway Flax Seeds ground is supose to be better for you than the oil, accourding to Dr Weil. You freese it to keep it fresh. I grind my coffee every morning, so I use my coffee grinder for th flax seed also. Been taking them for 3 yrs now.

Hey ladies lets all come up with a pledge for this board and if we break it we pay a fine to our favorite chairty or to this board, of course we have to be on the honor system. I found when you pay money for mistakes, you make less of them, ( like speeding tickects). Just a thought???

Good news I lost 2 Pounds finally, and you ladies say men lose easier, I better check my horemones (sp).

Ange, I haven't taken any classes, I would like to though. There aren't any in my area. That's what happens when you get stuck in a little bity place by the military though. The only thing I can do is make the little stars that cover the character shaped pans. To me it's kind of like coloring, but more fun then using crayons or markers! I've only done the character shaped pans and one time I made an Easter Bunny from a regular round 2 layer cake. That was neat looking too.

MONET, I found a Strawberry Shortcake pan on e-bay, starting bid is $5.99!!! I sent them a mail asking if I could just buy it outright from them and I also included that my daughter is having a birthday on the 28th of this month and I would really like to make this cake for her. I hope I can get it. I'll let you know what happens. Worst thing is they could just tell me no, huh?

Just a few replies before heading home. Gonna walk and cut grass and then get my wt training done. Need to shop for a wedding present and something to wear to the wedding on Sat. This in-between weather kills me on clothes.

JackieO, Congrats on staying OP yesterday and doing all that exercise. Take it one day at a time and you will see some results.

Country, don't let your friend's comments get you down. You are doing great. Just look at all that exercise you are getting. You are only 3 pounds away from your low. You will get there, just hang on. Congrats on such a good eating day yesterday. If you have a week of those I know you will see that scale move.

Chris, Hope your back feels better soon. Nothing worse than a sore back.

Deb, glad you are back OP and walking. See binging time is getting shorter. So that is a good sign.

Monet, How rude of your manager to say that about you. My DH's boss said the same thing about him once. The man never utters 10 words a day much less talk to much! I think he is trying to divert his feelings.

Heartmom, I'm glad you have a better outlook. It is important to count our blessings instead of our troubles. We think ours our unsurmountable and then you find someone who is a lot worse off than you are. We just need to kook around. Those bills will get paid and you will get skinny (you have done such an awesome job so far). And the world will go on.

SuperDave, Congrats on those 2 pounds. I like the pledge idea, but not the money one.

have a great evening.

Good afternoon SBer's, gloomy old day here today. Have had some wind and some rain. This fall weather has really put a halt on my garden. Managed to get 6 pints of Tomato Sauce done today. Hope I will get enough tomatoes for more.

Eating has been good today. Had some ham with my cereal and yoghurt this morning, so haven't had any snacks. I swear I am not getting near the panty where the peanuts are kept. I am planning on eating an apple this afternoon, sometime though.

My fluids so far today are;

2 mugs decafe coffee
1/4 cup FF milk on my cereal
72 oz of water so far.... water is usually all I drink, everyonce in awhile I will have a sip of ds diet rootbeer, but the carbonation kills me. So I limit it drasticly.

Here are a few replies that I need to get done;

Jack-k-- Sorry your tummy isn't feeling good. Maybe the stomach flu? I would just concentrate on feeling better, and if the milkshakes and pudding is what will stay down and settle the stomach alittle.....go for it. It sure isn't going to hurt you any. I use the SF FF instant puddings all the time. I even have a really good cheese cake recipe using them. You are doing great on the exercise front, even if you missed on night of wt training.

Woodfrogs-- WTG girl on the loss, and the smaller sizes. AWESOME JOB!! Our starting weights are the same, don't know how tall you are. I am 5'6". The dress sounds beautiful. Just to let you know, I just got done with 6 pints of tomato sauce. Boy, didn't get as much as I thought, but it is 6 more than I had. Hope my maters keep coming. It is getting so much cooler here, down right cold a couple of mornings.

Jec-- You be nice to that puppie.....ya hear?? LOL. My sil was our cake maker. Every year she would ask each of the kids what cake they wanted for their birthdays. I haven't seen her make one for years now, though. Hope she will keep it up, she was very good at it. She has a granddaughter now who will be 2. Maybe she will make a few for her birthdays!

Ange-- Okay, so you did your planned cheat......lets get back on the wagon, and on to our goals! You went right back on plan, and that is the way to do it. If we are going to eat this way for life, we have to let ourselves live every once in awhile.

Pancho-- Sorry, but I can't help you about TGIF. I have never been there. Hope DD is not coming down with anything serious.

JackieO-- WTG, getting that exercise in will only help you in the long run. I think I should start doing some squats, and lunges with my lower body workout. Everything I do now is on the Total Body Trainer, but I really need alot of work on my upper thighs.

Country-- I hope you won't beat up on yourself over that comment. You are still doing great.....look at all the exercise you are getting. The weight will start coming off again, I just know it will. Hang in there, please.

Chrisd-- Hope your back will get back to normal soon. You did so well on your exercise last week. Hope you haven't seriously hurt it. I haven't seen the recipe you are looking for yet either.

Deb-- Thanks for posting the recipe. I think I will try this one too. Would like to do it with the flax seed meal as Ange suggested. WTG getting your 4.5 miles in today, and being back on plan. Hope you can get back on your computer soon.

Monet-- Thanks for the info on the protein. I did have some this morning. And you are right, I didn't have to snack before lunch. I just didn't have anything that was low fat yesterday to eat, so I skipped the protein. Never again. I was hungry all day yesterday. I hope that your manager is not up to dirty deeds. How dare he???

Heart-- AMEN!! You are right on all points. We do need to stop and smell the roses every so often. Glad that you have SO much to be thankful for. Because I know that there is always someone who has it so much worse than we do. Hang in there!!

Superdave-- LOL....how will you check those hormones?? Money??.....what money!!

Toni-- Hello!!

BOB, Thank you for crossing your fingers for me. It must have worked because I got an e-mail from the lady telling me that it would be fine and how much would I give to take it off the auction. I'm waiting on a reply from her now! I'm so excited and so is Kerri. It's her birthday I want the pan for, and when the other two's birthday's roll around if they want too then they will be able to have it. Funny attachment to Ange!

Teensy, Awww, the puppy has done fine today. He's actually been a good little puppy for once. He only tried to use Autumn for a chew toy once! I got my first pan back in 1997 when Kerri turned 1. Not that I have a bunch of them, I only have 3 and working on the 4th. Most times I just reuse the ones I have, but I saw this one in the Wilton site where you can go in and get the instructions and just fell in love with it

JECRITES: Hey, that is great! I am so glad you can get the pan! Maybe we should have a SB get together weekend, and I can teach you all cake decorating. Hey, your hubby is in the air force! Can he fly you over to Dobbins Air Force base in Marietta, GA? Bring the girls! We can throw them in the pool while we play at decorating cakes!

ANGE: Do try and make a cake for your daughter's first birthday. I can give you some cute ideas that are easy to make. You need to give it to her and let her play with it! Some of the best pictures I got of my kids were ones of them playing/eating their first birthday cake! Great memories!

BOB: I will confront the jerk tomorrow, given the chance. Of course, it may make my life **** if I do, but I really don't care. I don't have to work..and he ought to know that. I made Hungarian Goulash and brown basmati rice with a salad for my Massage Therapist. I hope they liked it! Its a family fav...

TEENSY: I was so excited! I actually got two cucumbers, and a bunch of cherry tomatoes from my garden yesterday! I was so psyched! There are a few more cukes that may be ok, but were too small to pick yesterday. I need to check them out in a day or two! I just hope the worms don't find them!

I am going to toddle off to bed. Tom is taking a quick shower, after jogging. ;)

Sweet dreams!

Monet, I'm working on paying for this pan, but the thing won't work right. It keeps saying that the item number isn't valid or doesn't exist. She took it off the auction when I told her how I'd be paying for it. Computer stuff is so frustrating! I'm giving her $15 for the pan and shipping, I think that's pretty good. Yeah hubby is in the Air Force but he doesn't fly. He works on the security cameras to make sure they are running properly so we aren't attacked. It would be nice to get together and learn some new stuff to do for birthdays and things, but I have no clue as to how I would be able to do it.

The pledge is more to be in the spirit of us as a group to be committed to each other ,so when we cheat, we are not just cheating ourself's but the whole group. The fines would be max 25 cents. thats a half of a coke., some places a quarter. You can leave the money out and just have a pledge. Better idea is when we meet certain goals we reward ourself's with something. We all been overweight for a long time or at least I have. Or we have a contest thats fair to all and the winner gets a prize and we all chip in for the prize .
It's the fun and the spirit that counts and we keep this on going so we all get chances to win. This is just a idea and that's all it is. I do not want tp pressure any one we all have enogh of that in life.
Thats what happens when you allow a man on the board and he feels accepted.anyway feed back good or bad is welcome, as I have thick skin and will not go away, you will just have to put up with me. Change the subject,if you really want to see how different we are read the book Men are fron Mars and Women are from venice by John Gray. You will really like it and understand you husband and if you can get him to read it he will understand you in a better way also.
As always you all have a Super Day and for real I like you all and wish only the very best and that we all stick together & lose together. For a salesman losing is a no word, except when your trying to lose weight.

I got back on here to read my words of wisdom that I wrote earlier. Funny how in such little time, your outlook can go from promising to grim. Sorry to be such a downer. I tried to talk to hubby about our finances and money situation earlier, he just got ticked and told me to be quiet and go on(and not that nicely). I just want to smack some sense into him. He refuses to sit down and look at what has to be paid, and what is past due. To top all things off, our main AC just broke tonight. We have no money to replace it or get it fixed. I just feel like screaming right now. Enough of my pity party- I do sincerly hope that everyone stays safe in Isabel's path and the storm gets weaker. Good luck tomorrow for WIW- mine will probably be up even more. I stayed legal, but ate 2 humongous plates at supper tonight, gee wonder why?! Hopefully, tomorrow I will be in a better mindset. Goodnight all.

Well, day is done and so are the dishes!! Had a great meal of spaghetti and salad. WW of course, with sf jello for dessert. I know I shouldn't but I had a dollop of Cool Whip Free too.

Jec--Glad you were able to get the pan. Isn't it nice to be able to do something special for the ones we love on their special day?? Glad the puppy was good for you today!!

Monet-- Enjoy those fresh veggies, they have so much more flavor than the ones we buy at the store. You will probably get a few more cukes. Ours when the weather was hot would grow in a day it seemed like. I will sure miss them when they are gone. Which the way our weather is going will be very soon.

Heart-- Hang in the gal. It can only get better!!

Chrisd-- Will be waiting for you!!

Sweet dreams, and see you tomorrow.

Happy Wednesday morning to all.... I'm so excited I lost 5 1/2 lbs. this week. I'm totally shocked. I've had such a hard time getting that scale to budge. I'm happy as a clam. Jumped right on my treadmill and got my walk over with. I think its been a combo of things I've done. Cut my portions down and upped my vegetables.

Bob- I'm like you I don't like to be forced to learn something new. This ole lady has a stubborn mind!!! LOL.

Teensybean- Good for you getting tomato sauce done. You must have lots of tomatoes. Would you print your cheesecake recipe using SFpudding.

Jecrites- I'm so happy you're going to get your pan. I hope you got the money thing worked out. Dealing with a computer sometimes makes me crazy.

JackieO- A great big howdy.

Monet- Wish that was possible to have a lesson on cake decorateing. Wouldn't that be fun. But how would we keep our fingers out of the icing???? Or the cake crumbs?

SuperDave- Its so nice to have a man's opinion and ideas on this board. Keeps us ladies on our toes.

heartmom- Isn't it something when it rains it pours!!! When one thing rolls into another thing making problems huge. Its so hard to deal with our weight when stuff is going like that. My DH has a tendacy to bury his head in the sand and not accept reality....

Chrisd- Hope you have a good night with your back.

Jack-K- I hope you got all your stuff done. Did you get to shop for that dress yet. You sure are doing well....

Happy WIW.

Hope the scale is so good to everyone today. If it's not, lets take a close look at what we are doing and critique it some.

The scale is down 2 pounds from last week. I am only 1 pound away from my low which was way back in May and only lasted a few days. Now my next goal is to get out of the 150's. I wanted to be at goal by my 2 year anniversary next month, but I know I'm not going to make it so just to be out of the 150's will be good for me.

I did a body analysis thing from Dr Phil (it was one of those pop up things that appear here). It said my wt should be 134 and Body Fat 118. I don't think 134 is realistic for me. But I would love to be 140 or less. I would like a little cushion.

Got all my walk and wt training completed last night. It was a busy night plus I had to work late and then fix dinner, fix lunches, fix dinner for tonight, pay bills. Whew! I collapsed around 10:00.

I have bunco tonight so I figured we wouldn't have time to walk so after procrastinating for 15 mintues and coming up with every excuse I could to stay in bed, I drug my lazy butt up and got in 2 miles. Glad I did. Boy was it cool out there. My hands were freezing. I think it was in the 50's. that will wake you up.

Enough about me..

Bob, keep an open mind and you will do fine. Got to keep up inthis world of top speed technology. Be careful or some young thing will steal your job.

Teensy, sorry this cool weather has hampered your garden. I guess we all will be "paying" for it come fall. Prices of veggies and fruits will skyrocket. At least you got some sauce put away.

Jecrites, hope you get that pan for a good price.

JackieO, Hope it is a good WIW for you.

Monet, good luck with your boss tomorrow. Don't take any "stuff" off him

SuperDave, We could do like some parents do when their kids say a bad word. Make them put a quarter in a jar. Then after so long the money is yours to spend how you like. People come and go so often on this board and some have lots to lose and others not so much as I think it would be complicated to do a "prize". Just my 2 cents though.

Heartmom, Don't let your stress turn to eating. Do something positive with it, exercise or clean or something like that. (or make a voodoo doll of DH and stick pins init) Oops! just kidding. My DH has no interest in finances at all. I don't know what he would do if something happens to me. Is it cool enough there to just open some windows and let the a/c go for awhile? Sending some prayers your way that things improve.

Chris, glad your back is better. Be careful working out.

Toni, I am doing the happy dance for you :dancer: 5.5 pounds is awesome. What ever you changed sure is working. Keep it up. No shopping yet. Maybe tomorrow night.

Kim, where are you???? We miss you.

Yellow Rose, I sure hope you are out of the storms way. Be safe.

Have a great day. Congrats to all the "losers" today and everyone else, hang in there. We can do this.

Hello everyone!

Well I'm not getting on the scales today. TOM is due.

Today is the day I take Autumn to the library. She's been really excited about it. I just hope she doesn't go in there and start screaming.

Teensy, You're right, it is nice to be able to do something special for those special ones in our lives on their day. Kerri already feels left out during the earlier months of the year. Both her sisters birthdays are in April, and a cousin in March, another cousin in April, and another one in July. Poor thing, she's the only one at the end of the year, and to her it seems like it takes longer for her birthday to come. I've told her to try to think of it as hers comes first since it's so far away from the others; that doesn't always work, but she really enjoys her birthdays anyway.

Toni, I think I got the money thing worked out. The lady took the pan off e-bay when we decided I'd be getting it, and when I went into Paypal to pay for it, the item number wouldn't work. I ended up having to put it as goods instead of an e-bay item. The money went to the right e-mail address, so she should be shipping me the pan sometime this morning. I can't wait to get it!

Heartmom, So sorry to hear that your hubby doesn't want to listen to you about finances. Mine does the same thing, it must be a man thing, (sorry Superdave, but I figure when more than one man does something, it's a man thing!). Could your a/c just be froze up? If it is, you can spray it off with a water hose, and then just let the fan blow for an hour or so and that should unfreeze it. That's what they did to mine back at the beginning of the summer. I hope it's nothing seriously wrong.

Ange, Don't feel like you are the only one who puts lots of ...... in messages. My hubby does the same thing when he's instant messaging someone, and in his e-mails. He said he doesn't know why he does it either.

I have dishes from last night that I need to get done, so I'll talk to y'all later.

Good morning:

I thought I'd try to post quickly before I take Britt to school; she has a flip-flop day today (8-11 instead of 12-3).

I weighed 123 this morning, which is amazing after yesterday. I did go to TGIF and I ordered the cobb salad, which was good but very small, so I then ate ALL of the FF that my DD didn't. She is only 14 months, so she didn't eat many of them. They were so good, and I enjoyed them. I also then had a handful of caramel corn. Gheez, I really thought I'd be up today; maybe it will catch up tomorrow. I hope not!

My fluids yesterday:
6 oz milk with iced coffee
56 oz water throughout the day
10 oz iced tea with lunch
6 oz milk with mixed berries made into a milkshake
glass of water for dinner (probably 6 oz)

Jack: Thanks for the pudding recommendation; I'm sure there are times it will come in handy. You ARE GOING TO HIT YOUR LOW soon!!!! Keep up the great work. It is nice to see when hard work truly pays off. All your planning and exercise are truly showing. I love Bunco; have fun! THERE IS NO WAY THAT the info. from Dr. Phil can be right. Maybe the weight; not sure though. The body fat would be in the excellent, body building type range. I look very firm and toned to everyone that I talk to, and my body fat is at 26, and I am shooting for 24 to get in the good range. That won't even put me in the excellent range, which is for extremely athletic builds. It also is broken down by age groups. I will post for you later the info. that I was given from the nutritionist and the nutrition office at my gym with the breakdown of body fat percentages for age groups.

JackieO: Great job on eating & exercise. Keep up the great work.

Monet: I hope your DD feels better soon and that no-one else gets it.

heart: 5#'s seems a little high. Maybe you are retaining water and just not feeling it. You have a great attitude, and we must always remember that there is far more good out there than bad; it's just that we always let the bad bring us down, instead of letting the good hold us up.

jecrites: Glad you found your Cake Decorating stuff. Have fun. Ask the lady on e-bay to send you an invoice through e-mail that you can pay from.

angehaley: I guess what you are missing with the flax seens is the essential omega fats. I will let you know how much the pot pies are when I get home; I am going to buy soem today. I also made a Winnit-the-Pooh cake for my 5-year old's first birthday. It was fun!

Toni: Congrats on the 5.5# loss. You are doing fantastic!!! Keep up the good work.

SuperDave: I'd be willing to do something for my splurges. Maybe we can work something out!! God knows I will need lots of help to get through the holidays. I will probably be able to donate a boatload to some charity (ha).

Have a super day.....gotta run!

Morning all!

I was in Montgomery all day yesterday. Left the house at 7:10 am and got home 12 hours later. Was too pooped to get on the board last night!

Today should be much less hectic.

Chris--WTG on getting the water instead of the beer!

Pancho--It's great to be back! Sounds like you are doing well.

Melf--Wow! It sounds like there are some big doings at your house! I'm glad to hear that DD and the baby are ok. Those lights are fairly routine, I understand. That's great news about your DH! Are you ready to be the pastor's wife? Should be a great opportunity for you both!

Jenn--I hate getting caught in voice mail h**l! I'm glad you got the ID straightened out.

Beach fan--It's great to be back. I'm upset we didn't win too! I was in Montgomery yesterday and you wouldn't beleive the whining!! All these people thinking that the Gov is punishing them by curring the budgets now--I'm like, "Hello--were you people paying attention the last three months?" I think we are in for a very rough year or two.

Monet--A Friday might be the best for me, so maybe the first Fri in October if the next two are busy for you. Have fun at your retreat!

Susanne--I'm interested to hear our the SB diet is working for you, when TOM leaves and you get to weigh. Is anyone on the board doing the Dr. Phil challenge? I watched his special last Friday and didn't think he hit on anything we hadn't already figured out on this board.

Jackie--Trust me, y'all ought to be able to beat Vandy! It is great to be back, I've missed everyone here terribly.

BOB--I think the hurricane looks like it might come in just north of Mom and Dad--but we are keeping a nervous eye on Isabel. I think they will get some of it, but not the direct brunt. My brother and his family are about 80 miles inland from Atlantic Beach which is about where they think it will hit. His little town flooded very badly after Floyd a few years ago--they've had so much rain this summer that I think they will see a similar result.

Crystle--9 miles???? That's some walking! I'm impressed.

Wendy--Welcome back! I'm sorry to hear that the ex-dh is being so nasty, but thrilled to hear that you are not falling into the bad eating habits. Hang in there.

Colleen--When I don't eat protein in the morning I am soooo hungry the rest of the day. I've gotten to where if I have cerel for breakfast, I'll eat a spoonful of peanut butter for the protein hit. It really helps.

Barbara--It sounds like you are doing great! I've always wanted to try Pilates--how do you like it?

Ange--the weekend cheat won't be bad if you get right back OP!

Deb--the zunchiini loaf recipe sounds good, and from the comments on the board, I think I'll have to try it!

Laurie--Wow! What a great post to help all of us focus on what is really important and not to get sidetracked by the frustrations in life! THanks for that and you hang in there. You have so made so much progress and you won't stop now!

Superdave--What a good idea! You may have just hit upon the way to support this board!

It's gorgeous here today, But I'm keeping the weather channel on to watch out for the hurricance.

I hope everyone has a good OP day!

Good am to you all....
Well... I decided to go ahead and do WIW, despite my out of control splurge on Saturday......
I am at 151.2 - That is down ~2.5 from last week. Makes you go hum..... Wonder if that ADVOCARE is helping????? I do feel like it is keeping me from "snacking"....... WOW, was I suprised...
Just curious... do you guys think that taking any supplements (such as advocare) is in a way, CHEATING on trying to loose weight?????????????? I sure hope not... but would like to know some honest feedback!!!!! (Not sure how I feel about it.....) but really glad it seems to be helping with my cravings...!!!!
Not sure what happened to me.... But woke up this am and fed DD and put her in the stroller...... and took her for an hour long walk.... (we live on a golf course) and made it home before the golfers showed up!!!!! I think all of your encouragement.... and good examples are wearing off on me!!!!!!!! IT IS ABOUT TIME...!!! THANKS TO ALL FOR BEING SOO HELPFUL AND ENCOURAGING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!....:D :D

SUPERDAVE.... Thanks for hte info on the flax!!!!! I will be VERY HAPPY TO GET RID OF THAT OIL.... YUCKKKKKKKKKKKKK! Sure wish I knew you would be at GF on Sat... we could have met!!! :^: I like the cheat jar idea.... then we could also use it to reward ourselves when we reach certain goals....!

BOB - YOU ARE TOOOO MUCH!!!!!! Thanks for the posted pic.... That really made me laugh!!!!! I will be looking for the wagon to be rolling by anyday now!!!!! Hope you have a hoist on that thing!!

Teensy - I envy your garden!!!! It always sounds so wonderful!!!
The carbonation is what I live for in the SF diet rootbeer.... ah the burps feel sooo good.... When pregnant... I went NO WHERE without seltzer water!!!!!

MONET - ok, you Jec have definately convinced me to try my hand at a cake for Lily's first b-day..... Did you see my post about a cupcake cake???? Have you ever made one of those??? I am gonna try to make one of those this weekend.... I will let you know how it turns out.... HOPEFULLY NOT A TOTAL DISASTER!!!! :p Now that I think about it.... My first cake was bigbird.... very cute..... just his face... but his BILL was a plastic form....(gosh, that thing is probably worth some money now~)ha.aha.ah.....

Jec!!! Congrrats on the getting the pan for $15 - what do they go for in the stores???? I want to start my collection!!!!! You should take a pic of your strawberry sc cake and post it!!!! can't wait to see it!!!! ;)

HEART - Keep that pretty little head of yours up..... If you hubby is not gonna stress about it..... then you shouldn't either!!!!! You know, you should take a dollar, just one....... and buy a lottery ticket!!!!! sometimes people win, and win big when they are down on their luck finanically!!!!! ;) Try to stay positive... is there anyone else that you can talk to , besides your hubby maybe there are some different options out there....! Consumer credit counseling can usually help... they help you get your finances in order... and you pay them one amt a month and they doil it out to all creditors (alot of times they can get your balances lowered!!!!!!) just a thought.... hope I am not being toooo pushy with my thoughts..... take care of yourself... and try to chanel your thougts to positive ones (esp. for the kiddos!!!!!)

CHRIS - don't hurt yourself with the workout!!!!! You gotta stay healthy!!!

TONI - oh my gosh!!!!!! 5.5 THAT IS TOTALLY AWSOME ------- WOOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOO TO YOU!!!!! Keep up the great work!!! Glad you figured out what works for you!!!!

JACK-K- Woooo hooooo toyou tooooo.... down 2 and ooohhhh so close to your all time low!!!! What a great feeling that must be~~~

PANCHO - congrats on the low # on t he scale... sounds liek you are at a number where you can have a few cheats here and there and the scale won't be sooo quick to jump back up..... as long as you are op MOST of the time!!!!!!

COUNTRY - wanted to tell you about this...... my mom brought over a bag of "STUFF" From when I was living there after college.... hum...... seven years ago... anyway, in that bag was a pair of "SWEAT SHORTS"..... YOU GOTTA get some.... they are from Walmart.... in the exercise dept... they are made out of neoprin I think... but they are kinda like plastic and kinda "hold you in" and ........ MAKE YOU SWEAT LIKE CRAZY!!! I thought you might enjoy them with all the walking you are putting it!!!!! ;)

DEB - how goes it with the computer.....? WE MISS YOU.....

Hope everyone has a good weigh in!!!!!!
Take care and talk to you soon....

LOVE, ANGE

Getting ready to run out and don't know when I will be back so thought I would catch up.

Pancho, I'm not firmed and toned anywhere. All this saggy skin will never tone unfortunately. But I would love to see the info the nutrionist gave you. Just do some exercises and maybe yesterday's lunch won't find you. Jump righjt back on track and you will be fine.

Jecrites. Have fun at the library.

Chris, WTG getting that exercise in. You're smart not to push it though.

Fillise, You are one busy lady. Glad you are back on the board. Hope all your family are safe.

Angehaley. Congrats on the 2.5. The body is a strange thing. Makes you keep guessing. Good going on getting that walk in today. Don't think the Advocare is cheating. I really don't think those kind of things really work. But hey if it works for you, go for it. Combinging that with SB may just be the trick you need.

Have a great OP day.

Hi everybody.

Well we are back from the library. Autumn had fun. That was the main thing. She listened to 4 or 5 different stories, and then got to color on some pages someone had donated to the library. I checked out some books for all 3 girls to read, and 3 videos for them to watch. It's so hard to keep books here for Katie and Kerri to read for school, so I'm going to take advantage of this every week that I can.

Oops, gotta run. Kids next door want to play so I'm gonna take Autumn outside to play for a while.

Ange, That one Strawberry Shortcake pan from 1981 or 1983 whichever year is the right one, isn't in stores anymore, that's why I looked on e-bay. That sucker was running anywhere from $20 to over $35! The ones that I have gotten from Wal-Mart, made by the same company, are around $10. I'll make sure to post one of the pictures I take of it. Her birthday isn't until the 28th of this month so it'll be that weekend I make it. I can't wait to see it either! And the Care Bears pan is also running for around that same price on e-bay since it's no longer available.

Talk to y'all later.

Greetings all!! Sorry my post is so late today but I have been busy at work preparing for a staff effectiveness training tomorrow. I had to read "Who moved my cheese" and answer a bunch of worksheets. After my stressful day yesterday, I am about to take the cheese and shove it...Someone in another department decided to get on a power trip and talk to me like an animal. I got so upset that I blew all my healthy eating and gave into some emotional eating. So there I was, sitting at my desk, having an affair with Frito Lay (not a friend of SugarBusters). I really don't know what I was thinking trying to drown my sorrows in a bag of Doritos...I had been doing SO well. Anyway, it was a nice lesson in not allowing other people's negative attitudes to affect my weight loss and healthy efforts. I ended up feeling gross and disgusted but am glad today is a new day.......

Jecrites- I used to take the kids I babysat during college to storytime at the library weekly. They loved it and it gave me a little break.

jack-K- I feel ya on the saggy skin. The weight training has helped, but my upper region still looks like something out of National Geographic. HAHA

Ange- Congrats on the weight loss that is super!!! What is Advocare? I am not familiar with it...P.S.- I love the name Lily...

Susan- Hope your day is less hectic today.

Chris- Way to go on the exercise..60 pushups and 100 crunches is INCREDIBLE

Pancho- Great job on your weight loss efforts and for staying on track. The french fries were just a minor bump in the road..

toni48- Congrats on the weight loss. That is Awesome.....

heartsmom- Hang in there. I am praying for you..You have the strength to overcome anything, look what you have already overcome!

Superdave- Hey! How are you doing? How long have you been on SB?

To everyone else, a big HELLO! I will talk to you later.

Good Morning Sugar Buster Friends.......WIW was good to me.... woooohoooo, I am down two pounds this week to 164. I have decided that my ultimate goal will be 150 as my doctor suggested. So that means I have 14 more to go!!

Congrats to all you losers this week!!

Toni-- That is a super loss, gooooood for you!! You have every right to be happy!! It's nice to see all your hard work paying off. I would be happy to share this recipe with you. This was a recipe that I used while doing PP. So I have added a few suggestions to make it more SB.

Chocolate layered Cheesecake

Crust;

1 cup walnuts *
2 Tbl butter

Filling;
4 cups whipped cream**
2 8 oz packages cream cheese, I used 1/3 less fat.
1 package SF FF White Chocolate Instant Pudding
1 package SF FF Chocolate Instant Pudding

For crust; Roll walnuts with rolling pin to crush. Mix with butter, and spread in the bottom of spring loaf pan.

For Filling; Whip the cream and divide in half. Soften one package of cream cheese and beat until fluffy. Mix in White Chocolate pudding. Add 1/4 of the whipped cream and beat well. Fold in remaining 1/4 whipped cream. Spread in pan on crust. Repeat this step using the dark Chocolate pudding. Spread on top of white chocolate layer. I save a little whipped cream to spread on the top and sprinkle with a little baking cocoa to give it a finished look. Refrigerate.

* How about using ground up Fiber One cereal instead. It would have less fat.
** I don't know which would be better for you, the regular whipped cream, or FF Cool Whip. I have more trouble watching my fats.

This was very rich. But it made a wonderful dessert for company. Enjoy!!

Jack-k-- WTG on the loss. You are so very close to goal aren't you? I hope that it will soon be there for you, you have worked very hard. How tall are you? My doc told me only to 150. Which I would be happy to get to. That is what I am aiming for.

Jec-- Poor little thing. I know how hard it is for them to try and be patient. Kerri should be happy that her birthday is closer to all of the other great holidays.....Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. But I can see how far it is to wait from the first of the year, bless her heart.

Chrisd-- GREAT JOB!! You will soon be melting away!

Fillise-- Nice to see you again. I was thinking of you yesterday as I was trying to get close to my kitty. She still has to be under the truck, or she just runs from me. Well, I guess I will have to be satisfied that she lets me pet her at all!!

Ange-- Nice job......the loss is a present!! Enjoy it. Why would Advcare be cheating? Isn't it a supplement?? Guess I really don't know what it is!!

Jackie-- Step away from the bag of Doritos!! It is NOT your friend!! You can do this....one step at a time.

Well friends....see you all later!

Pancho

I'm back again. My DD is out of school and we are home for the day; no need to rush around today. I had a BALL at Whole Foods. I hadn't been there yet, but will definately go back. Wild Oats, Sprouts & Trader Joes do not carry the agave syrup, so I stocked up when I was there. I bought three light and one dark; I haven't tried the dark yet. The last time I had to order my agave off the internet and it came in a glass jar. These come in little containers with a squirt lid; they will be so much easier to use. They had the Shelton's Pot pies as well. I found some Annie's macaroni & cheese with whole wheat pasta shells, but got home to have some, and it wasn't too great after all. I found some 70% chocolate bars (big ones) and I bought 5 of them to keep in the freezer for when the mood hits me. We don't eat much bacon or hot dogs, but I bought some there to put in the freezer since they are nitrate-free.

I was starting to peruse the BBQ sauces to find one with low sugar, but DD got cranky and I had to move it along. I didn't even get to see the bread section. This organic supermarket is nearly as big as a regular grocery store, and most prices are pretty competitive; a great find indeed.

angehaley: the pot pies are $1.99 here. So glad to hear you are down on your weight after the splurge you had. I don't know enough about Advocare, but I think that some supplements can be very beneficial for weight loss as well as long term health issues. As you know, I took the Carnitine, and still do occasionally, but have also taken Glutamine & chromium in the past to get past the carb cravings. If you know it is healthy for your body and you feel good taking it, then don't worry about what anyone else thinks, just go with your gut.

Jack: Here is the info. from the body composition charts:
Age range: 25-29 - Excellent 18.9%, Good 22.1, Fair 25.4, Poor 29.8, age range 30-34 - Excellent 19.7, Good 22.7, Fair 26.4, Poor 30.5, age range 35-39 - Excellent 21, Good 24, Fair 27.7, Poor 31.5, age range 40-44 - Excellent 22.6, Good 25.6, Fair 29.3, Poor 32.8, age range 45-49 - Excellent 24.3, Good 27.3, Fair 30.9, Poor 34.1, age range 50-59 - Excellent 26.6, Good 29.7, Fair 33.1, Poor 36.2, age range 60+ - Excellent 27.4, Good 30.7, Fair 34, Poor 37.3. I don't believe in one test for everyone; obviously an 18-year old is going to have a different body fat composition than someone who is 40. This is more specific and seems quite accurate. Back in June, my bodyfat was 29% (I'm 35 years old), which was considered poor. I am now at 26%, which is between good and poor. I am shooting for 22-23%, to fall between good & excellent. The instruments they use at the gym can be off a percentage or two, and I think I am closer to 25%; they also base it on your weight, and it was later in the day, and I was wearing my tennis shoes, so I weighed in about 4 pounds heavier than usual. Anyway...probably more info. than you needed, but you should know by now, I tend to get wordy sometimes

JackieO: Sorry some people tend to feel superior and have to treat others with disrespect, but know you are better than all that, and try not to let it get to you. I will give you something to think about the next time you open that bag of Doritos......they have hydrogenated oils in them; do you know what that is? Those are plastics that you are eating, and your body does not recognize them as foods, and therefore doesn't know how to get rid of them, so your body holds on to those foreign bodies of plastic, and it can cause health problems down the road. They, of course, add these particles to extend the shelf life of the product FOREVER! Anyway, that has kept me away from a lot of foods; I'm even pulling away from Triscuits (which is the only hydrogenated item I eat anymore), and trying to find a viable alternative. Anyway, just get back on track, and don't let someone so insecure throw you off again. Good luck for a much better day tomorrow, and know we are here for you. Next time come get us instead of that bag of Doritos! I'll get off my soap box now!

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day; I may even have time to hop on later and read a few more posts.

Take care.

Pancho

Good afternoon,

Heading home. Hope to get my workout done before bunco tonight. The lady that has it tonight ususally fixes something for me SF. One night it was apple pie. So I ate the filling and left the crust (not ww). It is sweet of her. They all ususally have veggies or something like that I can eat. We will have dinner (burritos) before hand, so I will be fine. BUnco eating is a breeze.

Jecrites, glad you all had fun at the library. I don't think kinds can ever read enough. It is great to get them doing it early.

JackieO, as in life, affairs usually cause havoc, so end it now and jump right back on program. Loved your analogy.

Teensy, congrats on the 2 lbs. :dancer: You will get to that 150 mark soon. You have done so awesome. I am 5'6. How about you?

Pancho, thanks for the info. According to that I'm excellent! I found some bbq sauce called Mike Ditka's at Meijers grocery. It only has 2 grams of sugar. It has a kick to it too.

Have a great evening everyone.

"kinda" good thing is that today I'm only up 3 #'s instead of 5. It got pretty warm in this mobile home today. At least the LR and Kit did. I have a small AC in our bedroom that keeps at least the back part somewhat cool. The big unit is definetly shot- the motor. The price to replace it is $500. Oh, well guess I will be staying towards the back until it gets cooler. I'm just so depressed about our bills right now. My cousin wanted me to come get her tomorrow, and I don't even have a couple dollars to put in gas to do so. Well, that's enough of that...for supper tonight I'm going to grill a couple of London Broil's and have a salad, and I'm endulging and making fried sweet potatoes with onions. I fry them in olive oil. A little salt and pepper and onions and they are delish. Hubby and kids are tired of basic baked sweet potatoes. And I refuse to buy the white ones. My fluid intake hasn't been that great for the day. I've been drinking water, but not enough, and I had a Diet Dr.Pepper and a glass of Crystal Light. Will try to "catch" up on the H2O. TEENSY- your recipe sounds scrumptious! I'll have to try it one day and see what everyone thinks.

Hey All:wave:

Just a quickie to check in and say hello. Hoping to get the computer back tonight, in whatever condition. The disks came and I took Michael, the computer and all the paraphernalia over to his friends house-it just has to be done tonight, this laptop gets worse with each passing day.

Haven't really had time to read the board, just a fast skimming. I'm hoping to get back on track when we get the computer up and running again. I pray I don't lose everything, there's so much info stored in there that I depend on. If I do it will take some time to get me back up to speed:(

Speaking of speed, I'm so pooped today-woke up around 2amish and has a hard time getting back to bed, didn't walk, well, I walked, but right back in to the bedroom and back to bed!:^: TOM showed up today so I'm taking that as my excuse;)

Hope WIW was good to everyone!

GOOD EVENING FROM A SUDDEN STORMY WEST COAST OF FLA!!!!

this storm came up so fast...knocked out the electricity and my computer....had a hard time getting it back on!
WELL..the class was horrible...not the teaching, but the program is totally different than what we're used to....NOTHING is the same, and we will not even be using paper anymore!!! :yikes:
It's bad when you're comfortable with something and then like a flash....it's gone  We're going live with this on Oct 1st, so that doesn't leave a lot of time to mast the dang thing! PLEASE....
keep your fingers and toes crossed for me....

ANGE...not only do we have a hoist on that wagon, we may have to start using super glue to keep everyone in...bring your own seat belt...you're gonna need it  Missy sits in the back and she uses the :rollpin: on anyone who tries to get out!!!

DEB...sorry you lost some :dz: ....how's that computer coming along???

LAURIE...I'm so sorry you're having these problems...I'm there now with all the bills...I'm a shopaholic and believe me, when they start to roll in... :stress:

JACKIE...I know what you mean about the younguns taking jobs...they could pay one of those a lot less than they pay me and that's what scares me! I'm plugging along, and I know that it will click sooner or later....just hope that it's sooner!!!

PANCHO....I love WHOLE FOODS...we're getting one that's supposed to open next year. They have SO MUCH to choose from and I have such a good time when I go there!

OH...MY...GAWD.....Here comes the thunder and lightening again!

Quick check in here. I did not weigh this morning. Did not get the chance. I will try to hop on the metal monster tomorrow morning, but I bet it will be the same. I seem to have stalled out again.

Work was interesting. I got there and a strange woman was filling up the cases, which is usually my job in the mornings. We have a new assistant manager! The manager is not happy, as he did not want one. He asked me why I was looking angry and I let him have it. He tried to back pedal and said he said 20, not 45, and that he was just trying to find out how to approach me. I told him I did not appreciate him going to my daughter, and that I was a grown woman and if he had a problem with me, he should come to me directly. I then told him I did not talk to anyone for 45 minutes, and if I talked more than 10, I would be surprised, but as it was a day when I worked over 6 hours and took no breaks, he could consider it my break! I told him I work hard, and did not appreciate him saying I did not. He asked how he should approach me if he sees me talking again, and I said just say something. But he never will, because I never talk! I think he was a little surprised, but I am fairly sure it will not happen again. He definitely will not try that trick again. He was very nice and solicitious the rest of the morning. The assistant manager commented that I was awfully quiet, and I told her I am usually quiet. No lie! We shall see... I feel sorry for her though. The manager drove the last asst. manager to a nervous breakdown. He did not want an asst. either....it will be fun seeing how things unfold!

Gotta leave to go to small group, but will try and check in later. I have my cake decorating class I am teaching in the AM, so I may have some time.

ANGE: I have made cupcake cakes at work...easy! Just put them together and ice across the tops!

Gotta go! Later!

Hello once again everyone.

Well I got an e-mail from the lady I got my cake pan from, and she shipped it out to me today. I can't wait to get it!!!

Two days in a row now that the puppy had been pretty good. Maybe he's beginning to actually understand how things work around here.

JackieO, Autumn really liked story time at the library today. She's 4 and unfortunately there is no all day every day preschool for her to go to. I figured this would be a good thing for her to do, plus while I'm there I can check out books for the other 2 girls to read for school. They have to read every night, and sometime soon they are going to start the Book It program from Pizza Hut.

Teensy, So far Kerri has handled her birthday being at the end of the year away from everyone else's pretty good. In 2001 I got sick with a fake tumor in my head at the beginning of Sept. and was sick with that for about 5 months. She had a birthday nearly every weekend that year because my mom had come to help take care of the kids because hubby was in Saudi, and we had to go to mom's house and she did a birthday there for here, then she had the normal one I do, and then her other grandparents did one too. She was a happy child that year, even though I was sick and her daddy was gone. He came home in early Oct. so I guess that was a kind of birthday surprise for her too.

Jack-k, Katie loves to read. When she started kindergarten, she said all she wanted to do was learn to read. Kerri on the other hand could take it or leave it. If she's got a book she's interested in then she'll do pretty good with it, but if not she won't read for nothing. Autumn wants to read, but since she's not in school yet has to have her books read to her, and that satisfies her for now. She will take a book and make up her own story though.

Deb, Good luck with the computer! I see you had good luck with the computer. A big "WAY TO GO" for Michael's friend!

BOB, You crossing your fingers for me to get my pan worked like a charm and now it's my turn to return the favor. I've got everything crossed I can manage to get crossed so you will mast the stuff. Good luck!!!

Monet, Way to go. I'd have had to have a word with someone about that too. I'm glad all turned out good. I hope the new asst. manager doesn't get done the way the last one did. Maybe she should tell him off about it too, if he starts in on her

I've got some laundry downstairs I have to go deal with, and kids that are supposed to be cleaning up their HUGE mess they made in the bedrooms, bathroom, and hallway, so I'm gonna get outta here for now and I'll talk to y'all tomorrow. Have a good night everyone.

Hello all...

I have two quick questions........
I have been eating 100% italian semolina pasta (actually just once)... but for some reason..... wondering if it is actually legal?????:?: anybody, anybody?????
Also, I bought some sourdough pretzels... are they ok??? I had some today... as I didn't have time for lunch... and had a sip of diet dr. p (with caffienne) and it gave me a HUGE BELLY ACHE...so, quick ate some of those... to soak up the acid....! worked like a charm... now, just hope they are op!!!!!:p

Monet ! WTG on telling your manager where to put it (and all with a smile on your face.....) I love it!!!! Is is ok to use buttercream frosting on the cupcake cake... or is there something else that works better????

DEB - I can see you doing the happy dance right now.... WHAT A RELIEF!!!! You know, with all your stuff.... WE are all happy that you didn't loose your wealth of knowledge...... seems your luck has taken a change for the better......

BOB - It sounds like you are gonna have a great time come Oct. 1.
It will be hairy for a while.... but you will get the hang of it.... Just look at it as some much needed excitement at the work place....:dizzy: Hope you weathered the weather ok!!!!

Hope you all have / had a great night!!!!
love,
ange.

Just a quick post before going to bed. Been staying busy while hubby is working. Stayed completely away from the pie!! And it will be gone tomorrow. Yipeee! I am going to run into town tomorrow and pick up a ton of pellets for the stove. Fall is here I am afraid. I need to have some heat on at night, even put the winter blanket on the bed today. Brrrrr.

Jack-k-- I too am 5'6. Anyway, I measure myself that. Dh says I am only 5'5!! Either way, I am going for the 150. Isn't it nice when friends try to accommodate you. I have a couple of Aunts that always bring something that I can eat. We have a weekly Pot Luck for the family.

Heart-- Please hang in there, things have got to get better. I tried frying the sweet potatoes once, and they just stuck to the pan, and turned to mush!! Good luck with them.

Deb-- We miss you when you are gone.Glad the computer stuff all worked out!! I don't know what I would do if I lost the stuff I have on here!!

BOB-- Hope your storm isn't too awful bad. And fingers are crossed for you, but I am sure you will do fine!!

Monet-- Glad that you confronted the manager. As a manager, he should have the skills to talk to his employees face to face. Sounds like he could be very lacking in this area.

Jec-- I bet Kerri thought she was a fairy princess that year huh! Sounds like she got her wish when her daddy came home!!

Beach-- Just hang in there....it will start up again. I am the queen of stalls!!

Ange-- I will let someone more knowledgeable than I to answer your questions. I think the pasta is okay.....but not sure about the pretzels.

See you all tomorrow!

Ok, my computer will be done on SATURDAY!!!!! Trav brought his laptop home for me again, and I couldn't sleep, so I'm back on just to say hi to you guys.

Selah will be 9 months od next week. She is standing on her own for up to 10 seconds, but hasn't really taken any steps yet. She says "Mamma" "ByeBye" and "Agua" (I speak spanish to her at home. I'm guessing she is about 17 lbs? I just pulled out her 6-9 month clothes last week.

I, of course, have gained back. I think I am at 187 again :( It's just so easy to fall without you guys!!!!

Monet-I lost your #, and I have a new cell phone number, so you can't reach me. The pot pies were awesome, and I have an Agave secret for you. The coop that I go to sells Agave for less than $3 a bottle, and I think they are 10 or 12 oz. You can order them, and they only take 1 week. I just made an order last thursday, and they were in by Saturday!!! Let me know if you want me to bring you some. When can we get together? Next week?

I'll pick up with everone the beginning of next week's posting. I can't wait. I miss this sooooooo much!!!!

PS we are getting a family photo taken next weekend, so I will post it for you when I get it in

WEll, yesterday I didn't feel so bloated from TOM so I did my weight and measurements. I lost 6 lbs and a total of 6 3/4 inches--3 inches were from my waist!

The book says that one will lose 8-13 lbs on the first phase, but I don't have too much (about 35 lbs) to lose, so I think 6 lbs is great.

Confession time: A couple of days ago I bought a big pack of fresh baked oatmeal cookies for my guys. I had avoided the chips pretty much over the last 2 weeks, so I could avoid the cookies, right! WRONG! STUPID, STUPID, STUPID ZANNE!!! I must have eaten 8-10 of them!!!! I felt awful afterward. My stomach was queasy and I was so lethargic. NOW I can just look at the rest of the cookies and I don't want any. I don't want ANY sweet stuff.

Other than the cookies, I've been careful with what I'm eating. I really have to get back to exercising tho.

--------

I'm hoping Isobel doesn't get stronger again. She's still on a path up towards Toronto. We'll just probably get a bad rain/wind storm. Workers were out making sure all the storm drain covers were free of debris. And I heard the Red Cross has recommended we make up a bag we can grab "just in case". I've got a lot of stuff to put away in the yard today so it doesn't get blown around.

Gotta go get the little guy some breakfast.

KEEP SAFE EVERYONE!

Morning! Cake decorating class was cancelled today, because the lady hosting it has a sick child. I don't mind really...a lazy morning is just what I need!

I did not get on the metal monster this morning as I had planned. As life goes, I had to drive my daughter to school because her ride never showed up. She is frustrated about it, and keeps telling us she needs a car. She is much more persistant than her brother and sister were. We keep telling her that once she saves $1000 towards a car, we will help her buy one. She has not even gotten a job yet. :) Of course, she has a very difficult load of classes, but we still can't afford to outright buy her a car. Teens can be so wearying...

Eating yesterday was so so. Our small group went out to Quiznos subs, and I got a sub on their whole wheat bread. It seems to be more whole wheat than other places, but probably not totally legal. I also had some chips. I did not touch the chocolate cake I made for class this morning. I was going to demonstrate preparing and icing a cake, but I will have to freeze the cake for next week now. Then hopefully the kids will eat the cake before I get a chance to!

TALITHA: Yes! I would love it if you would order some agave for me! Send me a private message with your phone number when you get back on, and I will call you! I would love to get together again! Fridays are probably going to be best for me.

ZANNE: Congrats on the pounds and inches gone!

TEENSY: Yes, the manager is lacking in that area. He acts like a middle schooler sometimes...the hardest part about working with him is that he has a lot of power. He is best friends with the district manager, so no one wants to cross him.

ANGE: Buttercream is fine for a cupcake cake. That is what I would use!

JECRITES: Will the pan come in time for the birthday? I hope so! One of my co-workers and I have decided we have to wage a war against the manager to win over the asst manager, and help her not to be a casualty. ;)

DEB: Hooray! So glad you got your computer fixed with no loss of data! I know you are feeling relieved!

Good Thursday Morning,

Hope everyone is buckled down for the storms. It looks pretty nasty.

Bunco was ok last nite. 3 people didn't show up and most of the talk was about a young girl that had gotten killed in a car wreck and her funeral. Some of the girls in bunco knew her. It was very depressing. Oh well. She had some sf ice cream for me. She made a taco dip (all ff stuff) and I had brought by homemade taco chips with me. I really didn't want anything as I was stuffed from dinner, but I had a spoonful to be polite.

Heartmom, Hang in there. Smell those roses when you can.

Deb, Great news on the computer. Maybe your luck has changed. Get some rest.

Bob, Don't worry about Oct 1. Anytime you switch systems, there are lots of bugs to work out. You will do fine. Practice is the answer. The more you do something the easier it will get.

Monet, WTG girl on giving it right back to your manager. I bet he leaves you alone for awhile. :rollpin: Enjoy your lazy morning. I'm jealous.

Beachfan, Hope things slow down for you soon.

Angehaley, I use the 100% semolina pasta. I don't have pasta but about 1x a month. If the pretzels are truly sourdough I think they are ok. Do they ahve the word "enriched" anywhere?

Tilitha, Good to hear from you. Sorry you have gained. It is so imporatant to stay on board. Glad you will have your puter back so you can be on here more. Selah is too cute. Love the pout. She reminds me of my youngest, it took her forever to get hair.

Teensy, I think I am actually 5'5 3/4". I think I am shrinking. :fr:

Zanne, Wow girl you did great. 6 3/4" is wonderful as well as 6 lbs. Sorry you learned the hard way with those cookies, but you probably won't touch them again. Hope you are safe from the storm.

Need to get busy. Have a great day.

Last quickie, I promise...

Got the computer up last night, running a bit slow so have to see what's going on there. My printer isn't working though, have to try and re-install it.

Have a crap load of stuff to do today, still haven't gotten a microwave, people in this house are having withdrawls-Michael hasn't had a hot meal since it broke:S:

I will have time tomorrow to get back to my usual self, or so I hope. I can't even fathom tackling the e-mails I have piled up. Let's just hope my good luck comes in to play now-maybe I should play the lottery:?:

If I can get back before the kids come home I'll start a post:)

Good morning everyone!!

My fluids yesterday:
6 oz milk with iced coffee
56 oz water
12 oz diet dr. pepper
6 oz Aloe Splash
8 oz water with dinner

My youngest DD was up for several hours last night; I'm sure she got my oldest DD's sore throat, as she was pulling at her tongue and crying. She also had a stuffed up/runny nose. She was in such a terrible mood...yelling and screaming and hitting at me. I know she just doesn't know how to talk yet, and expressing herself is difficult. I ended up giving her a decongestant and some tylenol and put the vaporizer in her room, and she slept pretty good the rest of the night (still asleep).

Not sure what today will hold; I was going to try to hit the gym since I missed yesterday, but can't go if Delaney wakes up feeling sick. I might just run to Babies R Us and pick up some child-proofing stuff.

Jack: I will have to look for the Mike Ditka's BBQ sauce; I love spicy. Is Meijers just a regular grocery store? We don't have them here?

heart: How was dinner? Made my mouth water reading your post yesterday.

BOB: A kid in a candy store wouldn't even come close to explaining me at Whole Foods yesterday. I am so glad you will be getting one soon.

Monet: Way to give that boss of yours an earful! I hope all works out well for the new assistant manager.

Deb: So glad Michael's friend was able to restore your computer without any losses! What a relief that must be for you.

beach: A stall is better than a gain. Don't worry....that scale will start moving again.

angehaley: I'm not sure how to answer your questions, but will be anxious to hear what everyone else says. I would like to have a sourdough pretzel from time to time.

Teensy: I am so envious! We are expecting to have temps in the 100-105 degree range for the next week. I wish the weather would just break. I'd love to be able to put my flannel sheets on my bed.

Talitha: Hello. Selah is growing up right under your nose. Aren't they so precious when they start to talk? My DD is 14 months old, and my 5-year old is teaching her animal sounds right now; it is so cute to hear her sound like these animals. Selah sounds so petite, like my oldest was. My youngest (the 14-month old) is nearly 27 pounds. She is a big girl, but was from the beginning. She's a load to carry around, but I keep telling myself that I have lost one of her (27#) since March....I could be carrying around that extra weight on my body as well as her everyday. We will be glad to see you back again. I loved the picture.

Zanne: Yippee!!!!! You did fantastic; you should be so proud. So what about the cookies; move on and forget about it. Sometimes when we allow ourselves a little splurge like that we don't feel deprived and it is easier to get back on track. I should know (ha). I hope you don't get any serious remnants of Hurrican Isabelle.

Have a great day, and I hope to check in later this afternoon. I better go make my oatmeal.

I know this is early for Friday Funnies, but I just got it and thought it was funny! I may not be able to post tomorrow, due to leaving for the women's retreat, so here it is!

Three friends from the local congregation were asked "When you're in your casket, and friends and congregation members are mourning over you, what would you like them to say?"
Artie said: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful husband, a fine spiritual leader, and a great family man."
Eugene commented: "I would like them to say I was a wonderful teacher and servant of God who made a huge difference in people's lives."
Don said: "I'd like them to say, "Look, he's moving!"

Hey, guys. Just got finished with my 2 mile tape. I think my endurance is back so that I can start again with the 3 mile tape. The high here today is 90. Yesterday was 87. Suppossed to have a cool front in a few days which will bring it to the low 80's- can't wait. I'm down another 1/2 pound, so only 2 1/2 more to my low. TEENSY- when you cook the potatoes, leave the skin on and put a layer of onions in your pan first before the potatoes. Cook them on low with lid on and turn every few minutes or so and they won't stick, however, some will be a little mushy. But they taste so good with the olive oil. My kids don't like sweet potatoes at all. Oh, well. Hubby thinks they're "okay". I used to not be a big fan of them either. Until SB- now I crave them. I think I am addicted to Diet Cokes. I'm out and I'm going to scrounge up some change and go to the drink machine next door and get a couple.

Talitha- I just love pouty pics of babies. Adorable.

Hi everyone.

Nothing really going on here today. Katie has computer club after school so I'll have to go pick her up at 5 this evening, other then that it's just laundry day (still).

Biscuit is getting really good about letting me know he needs out. I am very glad of that. Now if I could just keep him off Scooby, my cat. :s:

Here's the only reply I have for right now, I'll keep checking back and gather up a few more.

Monet, Yes the pan should get here in plenty of time for the birthday. She sent it out to me yesterday and Kerri's birthday isn't until the 28th. You'd think that even though the manager is friends with the district manager the district manager would see that he's stressing people out, either that or maybe he's afraid to tell him off too!? I don't care for people that get the "big head" when they are in a place of power, maybe that's another reason I don't work, my feelings can get hurt pretty fast without anyone knowing it. Funny joke too, and I agree with him!

Gotta go for now, TOM arrived yesterday and is causing major cramps today. Talk to y'all later.

Thanks so much for the nice birthday greeting. I hadn’t thought much about it until Tranquil mentioned it earlier this week. My mind sure doesn’t Feel 48, but my body does at times. For those of you that don’t know, Tranquil is also a member of our board, plus we also happen to work together and be good friends. She hasn’t been on the board for a while either.

Today will be a challenge to not overdo it with eating. We are having an ice cream Birthday cake at the office today. Tranquil is having a Survivor/birthday party at her house tonight, with lots of good food and another birthday cake, plus two bottles of wine, so I will indulge..........just a little.

I did weigh yesterday but didn’t get a chance to report. My official starting back weight Is 206.5, which is actually down a couple of pounds from what I weighed last week. So, I feel like I’m off to a good start.

BOB – glad you have faith in me to eventually drag my sorry butt back to the board. I have already started on my mission to get Sabrina (Tranquil) back in here! She has been working a lot like I have, plus she has been sick for several weeks. She went to Santo Domingo on vacation and brought back some nasty little friends........in the form of intestinal bacteria! She really felt bad for a while, but is getting better now. I’m sure she will be back before long.

Crystle – Thanks for sending the BIG HUG! I sure needed that! Wow, girlfriend! Sounds Like you are tearing up the streets with all that walking! Very impressive! I appreciate the prayers about the divorce. It would seem that since my husband wants it, he would just like to get it over with, but he is doing whatever he can to try to get out of paying alimony. My attorney says there isn't much chance of that after 20 years of marriage and me being at home for 18 of those years.

Jackie – Thanks, I’m very glad to be back. I always miss nice friends like you when I am away. And surprise, it didn’t take me a week to post again.

Fillise – sending good thoughts and prayers for your brother. I have a good friend that lives not far from where it sounds like he is. She said they are preparing for the worst from the hurricane, while praying for the best. What small town does your brother live in?

Monet – Love your sense of humor and your funny. I think more about that as I get deeper into middle age. Have fun on your retreat this weekend.

Pancho – thanks for the welcome back and looking forward to getting to know you too.

Must get back to work so hope everyone has a lovely day!

BOB got home early today because "CLASS GOT OUT EARLY!!!!" :bravo: Today was a little better, and I found out that we will be able to access the new system tomorrow and play! That will really help me...I think I'm so confused right now because what we were taught is not even what we will be using when we go live! So I still need those crossed fingers, toes, arms, legs and boobs! Just for a little while anyway!

WENDY.....:hb: :gift: :balloons: :hun: HAPPY BIRTHDAY GIRLFRIEND!! Wish I was closer, we'd go out for DIRTY MARTINI'S!!!

JACKIE...I'm feeling better about the system today...thanks for the encouragement!!!!!!

Hi,

The board is a little slow today, but that is good for me b/c I'm behind.

Gotta run. Hoping to get out and find a dress for the wedding tonight. Have to get a present or they will get money. Bought a pair of shoes at lunch today. My treat to me for getting (almost) back to low wt.

Serene, :hb: :gift: :hat: Have a great birthday. Don't over indulge too much tonight. Enjoy.

Pancho. Hope DD is feeling better soon. Meijers is like a super Wal-Mart. It has everything in it.

Heartmom, WTG on that exercise and 1/2 pound. Hang in there.

Bob, hands on is always better. You will do fine.

Have a great evening.

Hi Gang, this a responce I posted on South Beach Diet on this board.
I saw the Dr. Phill program and he is not quoting a specfiic diet like Sugar Busters, or South Beach, He is supose to show you how to attack dieting both mentally and using common sense on what and how you eat. Like no supersizing meals, fast foods are crap, stay away from french fries, Eat small portions, ect ect.

I agree we are overweight for various reasons, and we are still looking for a silver bullet. The main reason some of these good diets do not work is instead of following them, we are always trying to find some way to cheat in a legal way so we can have our cake and eat it too. That is why we do not keep losing weight is we really do not want to change our way of life enought for it to work. If we did not allow cheat foods in our house and mouths we would win the battle. But no we want to find a way to make it fit us more than we fit it. It is that simple and actually so simple we can not accept it. I have been on ediets, adkins and lost 38 pounds and kept it off for 18 months now and this is the first time in 35 years that has happened.I still need to lose 25 more pounds, and if I did quite trying to find a way to cheat , I would be at my ideal weight..
On all the boards all I see is can we have this or that and we know darn well 90% of the time the answer is NO.Read the book and follow it. If you were going to drive to a different State and did not use a road map, and instead took turns we thought would be nicer or more comfortable we would never arrive there.Sounds like Dr Phil well thats the way he is going to tell it. Sorry folks if I upset anyone as I know this is a very very touchy subject. We have to change our thinking and the way of life and the reason we are all here is we are trying and refuse to give up and thats the best start yet. So lets dig in and help each other be postive and be honest with each other and win this darn war.

Just reading posts as I had a minute!

Happy Birthday Serene!

Now I have to go make sure I have clean clothes to take on this retreat. I may have to go to Wal Mart and buy a new pair of PJs. I only have flannel ones, and it may be too warm for flannel!

Just got in from Costco, since I am on the snack committee for the retreat. I had to get bottled water, and snack stuff. I got fruit and peanuts for those of us who don't want chips, white flour, corn or sugar! ;) I got grapes, but decided to keep them for my family. Yum!

I hope I can pop back in later!

Hi, it's me, back from the salt mines. I've been so swamped that I have not even had time to get to the board.
My French class takes a lot of time. But I also have a retreat to speak at next weekend. When that is over I will have a little breathing room, I hope. My midterm in French is 2 weeks from today and I want to get a good grade. What I really want, though, is to know it so well that speaking it will become more natural for me. I have CD's to listen to and I still have a huge problem understanding the spoken french on the CD's. I have been walking somewhat haphazardly because of my time crunching.

Today I got up before 7, and by 9 o'clock had gotten my shower, washed my hair, gotten completely dressed with makeup and done my hair, gone to the gas station and got the car filled up, gone to the grocery store for a few items, come back and made a saumon en croûte for french class, (Thats a salmon "sandwich" stuffed with crème fraîche and mushrooms and all wrapped in puff pastry. Yum.) A group of us had a presentation in class today for which we needed the salmon dish. I also fixed pancakes (the SB kind) for breakfast, and finally, I got all the stuff loaded into the car. Lots of stuff before I left for class.

We are going up to Gainesville for the weekend. Hoping to see the croc's beat up on Ewe Tea, but since the Visor Man has gone, nothing is a given in football. Probably will lose.
Fillise--glad to see that the Tigers finally got their act together.

Dave--I agree with you 100%. If we were perfectly disciplined we probably wouldn't be in this predicament in the first place. I think it is a great idea to be honest about this and face the fact that we are trying to "find a way out" of the really hard work of limiting what we put in our mouth.

Well, gotta go shopping. We are out of everything in the fridge and cupboard. My DH is eating out tonight with another person from his business. That gives me a little free time for grocery shopping.
I still have 2 papers due in the next 2 weeks for French, so I still will be pretty busy.

I'm sorry but I did not read through everything. Hi to everyone, and especially to all my SEC girlfriends.

Hello:

My fluids so far today have been:
45 oz of water
6 oz Aloe Splash
12 oz iced tea
6 oz milk with breakfast

As I told JackieO, I'm trying to stay away from ALL foods with hydrogenated oils in them, but I had bought some of the Triscuit Air Crisps (I think that's what they are called) awhile back and opened them up today. They are really tasty; I like them better than triscuits. They are really thin and are shaped like a triangle; they would be great for dipping. Just thought I'd share.

Happy Birthday Serene!

BOB: I sure hope those competitors don't keep Whole Foods from moving in; it's nice to have a variety of stores to shop at.

jecrites: Poor ole' Scooby. These pets go through so much. Our Golden Retriever walks around the house dressed up like Cinderella and Ariel some days.

Gator: Wow, you are so busy; glad to hear from you. Good luck with your retreat and your class.

Well, just thought I'd hop on and try to stay caught up. I will check back in tomorrow a.m.

Have a great day!

SuperDave- I agree with you. I for one do not think of SB as a diet- it's a healthier way of eating for life. This lady yesterday wanted to know how I've lost so much weight and I told her it was SB. She said " so basically, you're on a diet forever." Of course, I politely set her straight. I've had others also ask about my weight loss and when I tell them SB, they say well I can't give up my potatoes, etc.. I always reply that yes you CAN, you just don't WANT to. ANd that whatever you "give up" there's always a good substitute or alternative for that food and before long you don't even think about "missing out".

BOB- LOL- yes, I got the 3 pk of Leslie Sansone's WATP. Just start out with the 1 mile tape and see how you do. When it seems real easy, work your way up to the 2 mile tape. If you find it's a bit much, you don't have to do the whole 2 miles, stop at 1.5 miles. I was doing the 3 mile tape, but I stopped for a few days, and my endurance took a nosedive. I think tomorrow, I will do my 3 miles and see how I handle it.

Not much going on, just finished supper. Had spaghetti and salad, very good. I did endulge and eat some semolina noodles and too much cheese.

I wanted to report on my dinner tonight. I had leftover roast beef, which I sauteed in a skillet with some onions, celery and carrots. I added a bit of tomato paste, and some water, and a tablespoon of Worchestershire sauce. I steamed some cauliflower, and when it was soft, I put it in the food processor and pureed it with a tad of sour cream, then spooned the cauliflower over the meat mixture in a bowl, added some grated cheddar cheese and nuked it until the cheese melted. It turned out really good, and Tom told me I could fix it again! (that is an old joke between us...if he likes it he says that) I have heard of people using cauliflower for a mashed potato substitute, and tried it once a long time ago, but it was not all that good. I used fresh cauliflower tonight, and maybe that was the difference, that or my new Cuisinart. Anyway, I was really happy with how it turned out, so I recommend trying the mashed cauliflower if you miss potatoes.

Ok, off to bed! Good night everyone!

GATOR: I wanted to mention that I have another crop of caterpillars! They have eaten the two new dill plants to the ground, and stripped the older one totally! I counted about five of them on the plants and stubs! ;) I hope they can find enough to eat! I would bring them in and keep them in a bowl or something if I had some dill plant left to give them to eat!

Evening all--- Been busy today with my Mom. She is getting ready to leave for a visit with her Mother. Grandma will be 95 on the 27th of this month. So she is leaving in the morning for Utah, and will be gone for a week.

I broke my TBT this morning. I was doing my lower body workout, and as I was pushing on the leg bar I felt it get easier.....when I looked down, the support bar had broke off at the weld. I called the company, and they said they would have a new main frame out in 3 days. I love my machine......will just have to go without that one exercise for awhile. But will be able to do the rest of them.

Tomorrow is Friday, yeah!! Hubby has worked all week! Now it will be time for him to relax. Maybe go down to the lake for the day and go fishing. We shall see.

I hope everyone is getting along okay.... I will try and get back on in the morning and get in some replies. Sweet dreams all.......

Hi all,

Just wanted to introduce myself. I'll be starting SB once I do my grocery shopping this weekend, so I'll be here asking a lot of dumb questions.

So here's two!

(1) Are the SB products available in stores, or do you have to order them?

(2) Is the new Michelob Ultra ok, or is that just for Atkins people?

I'm just not sure football season is the time to switch to a no beer lifestyle!!! Though with the way our season is going, a quick jump to bourbon may be best...

Thanks,
Dawn

Ellen

JDAWN: Welcome! You may be able to find some of the SB products, but you don't have to have them. I am able to stick to the SB plan, and have never purchased a SB brand product. This is the easiest program to follow! I love it! As for the Michelob Ultra, it would be best if you avoided all alcoholic beverages for a while, to give your pancreas a rest, and allow it to heal. Alcohol causes a major insulin response, even if it is ultra light. I don't drink at all, due to medication I take, but there are others on here that do, and can share their wisdom on the subject. Wine is ok; I do know that. In moderation of course! Just remember, the only stupid question is one you don't ask!

Happy Friday.

So glad it is finally here.

I'm just so excied to see another Ky girl on this board. Now I have some backup against you SEC girls.

Found something to wear to the wedding. Paid more than I really wanted to. Might try to run out early in the morning and see if I can find something cheaper. Had so much running last night that I didn't get my walk in but did get a good 40 minute workout in. I was sweating buckets. Got up this morning at 5:30 and got 2 miles in. That will be it for today. Might try to sneak some squats in during lunch. We have great doors here to do them against. My walls and doors at home have a flat paint and your body doesn't slide well.

SuperDave, While I totally agree with you, we are only human and there are circumstances that you sometimes cannot pass up. I have always said "Every diet works" if you stick to it. The secret is to find something that you can stick to and not too so restrictive that you hate it the whole time. You must change your eating habits or you find yourself back in the same boat and worse. I plan on winning the war and wish it didn't take me so long, but the outcome is all that matters.

Jecrites, I can't beleive the cat held still while she did that.

Gator, stealing a tip from Deb, can you get french tapes to listen to while you walk or drive? That way you could exercise and learn french too. I noramlly pull for the Gators (except when the play the Cats, but think I'm gonna have to pull for the Vols this time. My SIL is a die-hard Tenn fan. He even wears that nasty orange clothes.

Pancho, I like those thin triscuits better too.

Heartmom, I find if I don't use the wts while doing the 3 mile tape, it can last longer. WhenI add those wts, my arms get tired quickly.

Monet, can you just start fixing a little extra for dinner and sending it my way. You are such a good cook.. I would never attempt anything like that. I am very basic.

Teensy, what a shame about your exercise equipment. Glad they are replacing the bar though. Maybe use this time to try something new. Always good to give your muscles a different work out. Have fun at the lake.

Jdawn, WELCOME! Now that's a big welcome to a fellow Kentuckian and a Wildcat fan. I'm so glad to have some company here. There are a lot of SEC girls here and it can get rather unfriendly during football season. (good hearted fun). Just wait till basketball season. We'll get them then. No the beer is not legal. I've never seen any SB products in our stores. Is there a Wild Oats in Lex. I have family in Georgetown and a daughter at UK. Don't turn to whiskey (made from corn). Best best is tequila or wine. Ask any questions and we will be glad to help if we can. Looking forward to getting to know you.

Bob, I forgot to tell you, last Sunday we went to see yuor man play. (Peyton Manning). I gave him a big kiss for you. (don't I wish).

Kim, where are you?

Have a great day. Lots of work to do today. I hate that.

Thank for all the encouragement this week. We finished up our walking week this morning. We opted to take the weekend and tonight off. 38 miles for the week. And I am whipped. :)

I started something new this morning. Breakfast....oh my gosh, I thought that a 1/3 cup of raw oats and some soy milk was gonna be a puny breakfast but I am completely stuffed. The soy milk has cane juice in it...I know that isn't good but that's the only soy we have here. Is there another kind? It wasn't milk but not half bad.

Since I've been stuck for a while and am walking so much I'm taking Teensy's advice and trying to eat a little more. And make better choices. I doubt I will be able to do the breakfast thing every day but gonna try to do it more often.

Our phones lines were down all day yesterday so I am sooooo far behind on email and things. I did read all the post.

Welcome Dawn! I get SB pasta in my grocery store. I've bought the dressing but regular store brand cost less and has almost the same nutritional values.

Love,
Crystle

Jack-K--LOL, I thought I was the only one who thought the UT orange was pretty sick looking. It's not exactly orange, is it. Sort of like a light gold orange. My DH says it looks like the color of barf. They do like that color up there, though, and they have a really neat end zone with a big checker board pattern of that orange and white painted on the grass. It should be a good game. Since Darth Visor left Gator fans just don't have that same ole confidence that they had in the 90's. The USA Today newspaper had a two page article on Ron Zook. Pretty interesting.

I did get in my walk today. My DH and I walked together.

Well, I'm gonna post this and then go read page 7.

Monet--Those caterpillars probably will eat parsley or fennel too. Go to Lowes or Home Depot and buy some of that there and put it next to them, still in the pots. You can even move them off the dill stubs and see if they munch on the parsley. The curley kind is best. You definitely want to have something to keep them fed, even out in your garden. If they like the parsley, bring a couple of them in on the plant. When the caterpillars get big they will start wandering around looking for a place to pupate. You will need a twiggy branch for them so they can find a good spot. Good luck.

Good Friday morning all!

My weight is holding steady at 123; we'll see how I do this weekend. I have only worked out one day this week (sick child). I will get to the gym tomorrow a.m., and possibly today if Delaney wakes up feeling o.k.

We bought Brittany her Snow White costume, which needs to be altered a tad, and Delaney picked Blues Clues. I kept holding up costumes, and when I held up Blues Clues, she grabbed it, smiled, hugged it and started giving it kisses. For a 14-month old, that said, "I want this one." I think she thinks it's a big floppy stuffed animal to carry around; we'll see if I'm able to get it over her head.

SuperDave & heartmom: I totally agree with you. People really are hard-headed and a lot of them refuse to chage their lifestyle to improve their health. When I went to lunch with a friend the other day, she said, "what are you going to order, a salad? Are you still trying to lose weight? Are you going to eat like this forever?" I said, "yes, no & yes." I was going to order a salad, I'm not trying to lose more weight and I will eat like this forever. I explained that I originally started to eat this way to lose the weight, but that I have never felt better in my life, and I have educated myself so much on what foods I will never touch again, and those that I will have in moderation. I'm sure she believed me once I scarfed down my dd FF (ha). I think that we just have to know that we are doing what is best for us, and "screw" what anyone else thinks. I have already told myself that over the holidays, I am going to have a few of my favorite cookies, etc. I am going to have popcorn when I want, and I am going to have occasinal splurges throughout my life. BUT, overall...this is it for life!

Monet: Dinner sounds yummy!

Teensy: Wow, 95 years old; that's awesome. I lost my grandfather last year (he was 92). Sorry to hear about your machine...at least it is something that can be fixed.

Ldawn: No question is dumb around here...it's how we all learned. You do not have to buy SB products, just products that are SB legal. You really should invest in the little SB shopper's guide (it's less than $4) as is lists all the forbidden foods and well as those allowed. It gives brand names and a lot of valuable info. They say no beer on SB; it's the highest on the glycemic index. I do have an occational Michelob Ultra or Miller Lite or glass of Champagne, but whenever you drink alchohol, your body has to burn that first. Welcome to the SB board, we are glad to have you.

Jack: Shopping is enough of a workout;) . Glad you found a dress.

Country: I guarantee that if you start eating breakfast (everyday) that you will start to lose. Remember, when you don't eat often enough, your body goes into survival mode and hangs on to what you do eat. I read an article at the gym the other day comparing several women who started a new exercise regimen, and those who just incorporated breakfast into their day, and those who just incorporated breakfast (with no other changes to their daily activity) lost, on average, 4 more pounds than those doing the exercise. Your body needs that morning meal to get your metabolism revved up. Even if it is one piece of toast or apple with peanut butter or melon or grapes.....anything. Why soy milk? Do you like skim milk?

Well, the kids are waking up, so I better go make some breakfast and evaluate how the youngest is feeling today. Gotta make sure she doesn't have a fever or blow snot out of her nost when she sneezes before I decide whether or not to go to the gym....what fun!

Have a great day everyone, and I will check in later.

Well, I finally feel like I've caught up this week. Windy today and rain last night and this morning, but the sun keeps peeking out and it's warm, so it's OK here!

Fillise - I really like Pilates, I taken several classes with this instructor and enjoy then. i also picked up a mat and a couple of tapes to work out at home too. Not quite the same, but good in a pinch.

teensybean - congrats on the tomato sauce. We had some of mine last night and it tasted great, I cooked a couple of sausages for the guys to have with theirs. had WW spinach spaghetti, quite tasty! I'm 5'3", so that 270 pounds was NOT a pretty sight(at least to me it wasn't). I'm looking forward to getting rid of this extra tonnage.

Monet320 - caterpillars are cool! I found a Monarch caterpillar the other day and he spun his little green house, so now we're waiting for him to hatch in a week or 10 days.

I've been so excited watching the weight melt off this week, not sure what's doing it, but I finally made the 40 pound mark last night and feel triumphant(at least for a little while). I made cookies for my guys, they were a big hit, and I didn't eat one!
In-laws are coming to visit this weekend, so we'll eat out a couple of times, but that will be fine too!
I hope that everyone has a great weekend!

barbara- Congrats on hitting your 40 pound mark. That is quite an accomplishment.....

Good Morning Everyone. So glad it is Friday! I am finally back on track from my binge on Doritos. Things have been very hectic at work, but I have been dealing with it in a healthy manner. My goal this weekend is to stay on track when I go out to eat. It seems I often comply so well during the week but relax my healthy eating habits on the weekend. I especially have issues with portion control. My mind does not like to think in 1/2 cup servings!!!!

I have not ready too many posts, but it sounds like you are all doing great.

Jack -k- Have fun at the wedding you are going to. With all the walking you have been doing, it might be hard for your new outfit to remain in place (you don't want it sliding off your butt!!!!)

SuperDave- I agree with Sb being a lifestyle change, and not just a magic bullet for weight loss.

pancho- Good for you holding steady at 123. Even if you didn't lose this week, at least you didn't gain.

Have a Fabulous Friday Everyone!!!!

Good morning everyone. I havent been posting in a few days. I've had a sick kid on my hands. He had a fever for 3 days, no appetite, not drinking...I took him to the Dr. yesterday, he has a virus. He is doing a little better today, still not eating though. He hasnt eaten anything in 3 days. He is drinking a little more today! Im so afraid of dehydration.
Im glad too see all the big weight losses this week! Thats great. I will be weighing in on Sunday! I really hope I see something lost! Especially since last week I stayed the same:^: ! I only worked out once this week...I will be back on track on Monday! My eating was good though, so it wasnt a total wasted week.
Hope everyone has a great weekend..

FAQ on Dieting....

Q.I've heard that cardiovascular exercise can prolong
life. Is this true?
A: Your heart is only good for so many beats, and
that's it...don't waste them on exercise. Everything wears out
eventually. Speeding up your heart will not make you live longer; that's
like saying you can extend the life of your car by driving it faster.
Want to live longer?
Take a nap.
Q: Should I cut down on meat and eat more fruits and
vegetables?
A: You must grasp logistical efficiencies. What does a
cow eat? Hay and corn. And what are these? Vegetables. So a steak is
nothing more than an efficient mechanism of delivering vegetables to
your system. Need grain? Eat chicken. Beef is also a good source of
field grass (green leafy vegetable). And a pork chop can give you 100%
of your recommended daily allowance of vegetable slop.
Q: Is beer or wine bad for me?
A: Look, it goes to the earlier point about fruits and
vegetables. As we all know, scientists divide everything in the world
into three categories: animal, mineral, and vegetable. We all know that
beer and wine are not animal, and they are not on the periodic table of
elements, so that only leaves one thing, right? My advice: Have a burger
and a beer and enjoy your liquid vegetables.
Q: How can I calculate my body/fat ratio?
A: Well, if you have a body, and you have body fat,
your ratio is one to one.
If you have two bodies, your ratio is two to one, etc.
Q: What are some of the advantages of participating in
a regular exercise program?
A: Can't think of a single one, sorry. My philosophy
is: No Pain .... Good.
Q: Aren't fried foods bad for you?
A: You're not listening. Foods are fried these days in
vegetable oil.
In fact, they're permeated in it. How could getting more vegetables be
bad for you?
Q: What's the secret to healthy eating?
A: Thicker gravy.
Q: Will sit-ups help prevent me from getting a little
soft around the middle?
A: Definitely not! When you exercise a muscle, it gets
bigger.
You should only be doing sit-ups if you want a bigger stomach.
Q: Is chocolate bad for me?
A: Are you crazy? HELLO ..... Cocoa beans ... another
vegetable!!!
Well, I hope this has cleared up any misconceptions you may have had
about food and diets.
Have a cookie ... flour is a veggie!
One more thing ...
"When life hands you lemons, ask for a bottle of tequila and some salt."
If you can't get rid of the
family skeleton, you might as well make him dance."

Hi all!

I just thought I'd post to say howdy, let you all have a chance to get to know me before I start posting to threads. I'm starting this new approach to my diet, after having been on a LC diet for a while. I have felt much better since going LC, but was beginning to suspect that I had gone just a little *too* low -- decided to add back some whole grains, some legumes once in a while, etc.. I feel great, and looks like my weight is (slowly) coming off again. I'm a snail when it comes to losing. <g> But happy to know I can have my grains again and still lose. Feels good! (And my hubby and son are pleased to have homemade bread back in their lives. LOL)

I currently weigh 207. Was 237 or so at my highest. I will be happy to just get below 200 and stay there, although I'd prefer to get down to about 160. We'll see what happens. Even if I don't get down there, I feel much better, and am happy to be eating healthful foods and exercising.

Guess that's enough to get started on. I can ramble on for ages if I don't watch myself! <g>

Hey guys, not much going on right now. Need to fold and put away some laundry. Gotta do the usual Friday thing- bills and grocery store. I woke up puffy- guess I had too much salt yesterday. The scale was around the same though- maybe up a half pound. I AM GOING TO DO GOOD THIS WEEKEND! PROMISE! No bad foods, and I will watch my carbs just like I do during the week. I only did my 2 mile tape today, I woke up feeling dizzy so I didn't want to overdo it. JACK-K--you said you use weights with the 3 mile? The tape I have uses a resistance belt with handles, is that what you meant? Gotta go...

The day is almost over. It has been a long one. It is really cold here. I brought a jacket in case we go to a football game, but told DH to bring my winter coat too. It is going down to 46 tonight. I'm not ready for this.

We have that wedding tomorrow, don't know what the food will be. I will save all my starchy carbs in case they have sandwiches. Bread won't be legal, but I will count it. It is at a Museum so it might be fancy. No cake though I promise.

Off to tailgate, drinking diet cokes. That is if DH remembers to put some int he cooler. Funny after he puts in the beer he forgots to add the cokes and there is no room:dizzy:

Gator, I never minded the shade of the orange as much as orange. Who wants to wear orange clothes? Especially if you are big. I don't care much for the checkerboard end zone myself. Sorry Bob. Never liked visor boy anyway. May have been a good coach, but I didn't like his tactics. Now I don't like the Redskins.

Pancho, you are doing good getting your Halloween costumes so early. I didn't mind it when they were little and you could buy them, but once the quit wearing those kind I hated Halloween. I am not creative and could never come up with ideas for costumes. I agree with you on this WOL. I want to get to the point where I can have some treats on the weekends if I want and be strict during the week. I hope I get to that point.

Country, I bet once you get used to eating breakfast, you won't be able to go w/o it. I can't. Panch is right. It is the most important meal of the day. You body will think it is starving. Just a little something. Got to put fuel in the furnance for it to burn it off.

Woodfrogs, 40 lbs is awesome. You should be so proud of yourself. Nice going on passing up those cookies. Don't give in, everytime you do it gets harder and harder.

JackieO, I am a little worried about the skirt. It was a 10 and a little big around the waist. They didn't have an 8 to try. I hated to spend that much money on something that might be too big later. Hang in there for the weekends. That was my biggest problem. But it is no fun losing it during the week, gaining it back on the weekends and then losing the same wt the next week. I would rather be working on the total instead of the same ugly pounds. Just gte some veggies and meat and salad and you will be fine. Stay away from pizza places. That ususally is my biggest struggle. I'll send some good vibes your way to keep you OP this weekend.

Chris, sorry your DS is sick. Hope he feels better soon and doesn't give it to anyone else. I wish I couldn't eat for 3 days. But not b/c of a virus. Good luck on the scale Sunday.

Lennylou, Welcome. So glad you have decided to join SB board. This is a great WOE that can last for a lifetime. Congrats on those 30 pounds gone. The rest will come off too.

Heartmom, No my tape is older than yours. They used weights. Now she has switched to bands. Progress. Have a good weekend. I know you can stay OP. You will, I will.

Deb, sorry I haven't got to chat with you this week much and won't be on for the weekend. Have a good one.

Have a great OP weekend everyone. We can do it.

Good afternoon all-- Been busy in the yard today. Trying to get my Lilac's and Butterfly Bushes ready for winter. I see the deer have been coming in and trimming up my flowers for me. That definitely means fall is here. I can't believe that summer is already over. Will have alot to do now getting ready for winter. Didn't make it to town yet for my pellets, but have had the heat on at night anyway.

Well, Bill talked to his boss yesterday. He has to leave next week to go back to the boat. I think we are going to drive him over, and take a trip through the boat. It is like 300 feet long, so it's a big one. He will be gone crabbing now until around Thanksgiving, and will be here until after Christmas. Then back out for the long season.....8 months or more. Thats when they do cod, herring, and salmon.

Jdawn-- Welcome to the Sugar Buster's board. Lots of info and support. As far as I understand, beer is a no no on SB. It has an ingredient maltose......sugar! Drink a dry red wine. Not sure about the SB products, I just use SB legal products.....this requires lots of label reading!! Hope this helps.

Jack-k-- I can still use the TBT, just can't do one of the exercises for the legs. I plan on walking again too. My little girl dog has got to get some weight off of her too, so will take her with. Only thing is her legs are so short, (Bassethound) that it takes us forever and I don't really feel like I get a workout. I love the weight training, and I try and do it at a fast enough pace to get the cardio in too. At least that is what the manual says! haha.

Country-- I wish you nothing but success. I hope that eating a bit more will do the trick. You need to eat breakfast, or something in the mornings. You get your metabolism started when you eat something.....thus you need to eat in the mornings. I get up, drink one cup of decafe, eat my fruit, drink my second decafe.....then exercise. After I am done with the exercise I eat breakfast.

Gator-- Hello!

Pancho-- Since this is a way of life, yes, I agree that sometimes we are going to have a few non legal foods. But the key is moderation, or we will be right back in the same boat we were when we started. I always tell myself that the second one tastes just like the first one did!! Most times it works, but not all the time. lol.

Wood-- I am planning on using one jar of mine this weekend. Don't know yet what I am going to fix..... At 5'5" it was too much tonnage!! I am so glad most of it is gone!!

Jackie-- I am sure you will do fine when eating out. I pick one day...usually Sunday and that is like my higher fat day, (regular breakfast food....bacon and eggs) and the day we have our 1/2 cup Blue Bunny ice cream. Through the week if I want a dessert it is SF Jello. I measure everything!!

Chrisd-- Take care of that sweet one! Will be looking for you on the exercise board on Monday!!

Lenny-- Welcome to SBer's. I was a PP baby for over a year and a half. Have lost 25 more pounds since starting SB. This is a wonderful woe. I wish you success on your journey.

Heart-- Have a great weekend.....I know you can do it!!

See ya' all later!

GOOD EARLY EVENING FROM THE WEST COASTOF FLA WHERE ROCKY TOP HAS BEEN PLAYING ALL DAY TO PESTER THE GATOR FANS AT WORK!!!!

GAWD....I'm getting EXCITED!!!! Only a few more hours till kick off! Busy day today, but at least it's the weekend!!

DAWN {{{{{{{{{{{{{WELCOME}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}
I lived in Lexington for 15 yrs before moving down here.. I worked at St Joe...Are you a native or did you move there like I did from a small town? You'll like it here, especially if you're a FOOTBALL FAN!!!

JACKIE...I would love to see PEYTON play...I don't get many of his games down here because he's in a different region than the BUCS!! Enjoy your evening...I love HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL!!!
Where ya going?
Have a good time at the wedding tomorrow...I know there will be something you can eat...if they can afford having it there, they can afford cracked crab, shrimp or something like that! Let us know all the details!

LAURIE....I'll try that...we did the 1 mile tape at work ONE day, but I haven't tried it since...we have the set of VCR tapes for work and use a conference room when there isn't anyone in there. I have the DVD's here at home, and what I liked about what I saw, I can easily do this in my bedroom cause you don't need much room to do it! I'll let you know how I do when I start!
My plan is for the weather to cool down (soon I hope) and start walking outside...I have a treadmill in the den, and it is very handy to hang clothes on

TEENSY....does your DS bring you the rewards from the sea?? I love everything you named and would go crazy living where I could get cold water fish...Our fish is good, but coming from the warm gulf, it just isn't the same!

LENE' {{{{{{{{{{{{WELCOME}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} You'll do just fine here with us....my suggestion is to not use the convenience foods for a while...buy yourself one of the SB grocery guides and go by that..It will help you with your shopping. I think they are around $5 and well worth the money until you get used to what you can have and not have!

CHRIS...sorry you've got a sick kiddo ...Let us know what the metal monster says on Sunday...

JACKIEO...good going on knocking off the DORITOS...they are addicting...Hope your plan for the weekend has good results!

Hi all!

Nothing actually to report, as I'm going shopping tonight or tomorrow to get started, but I wanted to say "hi".

Jack-K - Nice to meet you. I certainly didn't expect to meet a UK Football fan here! Hubby and I have season tickets. It's sometimes painful but generally fun. As this is an odd numbered year I get to watch TWO butt-kickings (UT and FL) as opposed to the more merciful even numbered years when I just have one (GA). We do a have a Wild Oats in Lexington. Just opened a few weeks ago. I may head over to see what I can find. I'm most concerned about finding bread. That's a bummer about the beer. I'll have to give that some thought. I'm just not sure I can go to Damon's for a round of QB-1 and order a glass of red wine.... :dz:

Pancho - I will go get the shopping guide. I'm a little intimidated about starting I'm used to WW where everything was so obvious by glancing at the labels. I just have to get used to a new way of thinking.

lennylou - HI! I'm new too. Hopefully we can learn together.

BOB - Thanks for the welcome. Good job pumping the Rocky Top. I must admit that when I hear it when I'm watching on TV, I do the little "Whoo!" during the song. Very catchy. I'm sad to note that you cheer for UT having lived in Lexington so long. I've lived here since I was 10 (moved from Owensboro). Have only gotten into sports in the last several years when I started college and went to the games to socialize. I started at a good time! We won a national champ in bball my freshman year and pulled down goalposts at the very first football game I ever went to....

Oh well, have a great weekend, all!

Hi all!

Thanks for the welcome! And the tips... I'll see if I can find a copy of the shopping guide, it sounds like it would be handy. I may have to give it to my hubby, as I make him do most of the shopping -- I spend more money than he does if I do the shopping myself. <g>

The house smells good right now, will smell better in a bit. I've got a turkey ham in the oven (hubby only eats poultry and fish, no beef or pork, so we have chicken and turkey a lot <g>) and I'm about to go out to the stove and saute some chopped onion and garlic in olive oil, then throw a couple bags of fresh spinach in the pan and toss it til it is coated with the hot oil. Yum! One of my favorites.

Does GNC happen to carry agave syrup? I've never tried it, but it sounds like a good choice for sweetening a few things I make. I told my son I'd make some of his favorite homemade granola (rolled oats, wheat bran, chopped walnuts, sunflower seeds, light olive oil, vanilla, cinnamon, etc.) and I used to make it with honey. Seems like the agave would work well for this, and maybe in slighter lower amounts. We have no health food store like Whole Foods, and no Trader Joe. etc., so if GNC doesn't carry it, I may end up ordering it online.

Well, I'd best get on out to the kitchen. Hope you all have a great weekend!

HEY ALL!!

I just found these and thought I would share...I will definately try them out! Sounds so easy!!!

EGG IDEAS!!!

Get a muffin tin and lightly greese with oil , wipe excess with paper towel , then place a small amount of grated cheese , whatever kind you like. Then crack one egg in each cup and poke only once with a knife. Then on top of that ad a little more cheese , green onions , and crispy bacon. Put in the oven and bake at about 350 for about 20 minutes and serve with salsa on top

Take 1 Slice Extra-Lean Ham and place in a a muffin tin. Top with a few tablespoons chopped sauteed mushrooms, top with 1 egg and a sprinkling of cheese. Bake at 375 for 20 minutes. Pull it out and the ham forms a kind of cup

GOTTA GO!!! BB4 is about to come on!

DAWN...I've been a VOLUNTEER FAN
my whole life! My whole family bleeds ORANGE!! ..When I lived in Lexington, I went to all the ballgames though..always had a great time!
I'm originally from Middlesboro...I have a Niece who lives in O'boro, really pretty little town....

OK....I'm off to recline!!!

Well, the day is almost over. Just unwinding right now. The kids have been really bad today. I went to Hudson's this evening and must have tried on at least 20 pairs of pants. The majority were 14's. A couple were too big, alot too long, some too short, others too small/tight. I then tried on some 16's and they were a bit big so I decided not to get them. Oh, but I did find a pair of 16 dress slacks that run a tad small, and they fit good other than a little loose in the waist. My problem is the thighs and butt. I usually find pants that fit perfect in the waist and are extremely tight in the thighs and butt, therefore making be look like a lard butt. The dress pants were Spiegel- got them 90% off at $7.90. And I went ahead and got a pair of Old Navy's 14 that are very tight, but with about 5 pounds or so, they should fit comfortably(they were only $5.99). My kids were little terrors in the store so I didn't go to Walmart for the groceries- too stressed. Ashley is going to the skating rink(first time) with a "friend" of mine tomorrow. I like her and all, but she's the total opposite of me. She's very nice though and really good with Ashley. Ashley says she's her best friend although she's a grownup. I don't like Ashley staying around her too much because she starts acting like her and I can't handle that. Christy is VERY girlie, girl- prissy. Very much into shopping, materials, talking prissy, etc. Tonight, I could have stangled Ashley for comparing me to her when trying on pants. Christy is very small and wears everything skin tight and revealing. She said something about if I were skinny like Christy, I could have wore such and such-aaarrrhhh!! I'm really trying to teach my child that appearances aren't everything, but so far it's not working. Anyway, Boogie and I will tackle the grocery store tomorrow when Ashley is gone. Eating has been legal and okay today. But I've had too much calories and fat and had supper too late. We'll see if it shows tomorrow. Goodnight all.

I know, I know...

What can I say? I had to leave the house early and go see my GF. I was unaware that my Aunt had left to go to NC and take care of some personal business. I knew she was going back but didn't know she had already left. Had to go check on my parents house and then go see my GF. Poor guy is working like a dog trying to pack up his house. He's definitely going to have to have another garage sale when he's finally figured out what he wants to take with him. There's so much, you're talking about 69 years worth of accumulation.

I've been gone all day and just got home and undressed. I'm hoping that ELI calls and says we don't have to go out with this guy and his wife tonight. I don't like either one of them. They live somewhere else in FL-around St. Pete area I think. I try to be cordial but really, would rather stay home, which is what I'm hoping will happen. ELI said they want to do something together on Sunday - why? Geez! I hope NOT!

OKay, I wrote this at around 5pm and just now was I able to get on the computer and now I have to get off cause LAUREN just walked in. Tomorrow I have to take MICHAEL to his last screening of his film, suppose to be televised somewhere. Going to hit some garage sales. Didn't have to go to dinner, his wife didn't come so I didn't go, told them to go on their own, thank goodness.

ELI is off on Sunday so I more than likely won't get on here til Monday morning - sorry guys, I really didn't intend for it to be like this. Next week will be better, I'm sure:)

NEWBIES sorry I haven't read the boards, hope everyone is answering your questions as I know they are:) Just want to take a minute and say:

Oooohhh I am soooo pissed. I just posted a huge message, I mean the longest I have ever posted...and GONE. Im on the laptop and hit the wrong freakin button! UUUGGGHHHHH! I had something to say to a lot of you! UGH! I did reply to everyone, but I cant retype all that! Plus I told you about my son! To make a long story short..he is still prettty sick, had to take him BACK to the Dr. today! He has canker sores all in his mouth and his fever went up to 103.4. I will try to remember some of my replies...

TEENSY - I hope to be the first post on the excersise board monday!

BOB - You guys will be the first to know what the "metal monster" had to say to me. GO BUCS on Sunday! Cross your fingers.

Jackie - I wish I could go a week without eating and still survive! that would be a big push in the weight loss! lol Have a great time at the wedding!

JDAWN and LENNY - welcome...I have only been around 3 weeks and I can tell you that this is the best place to be. The people on this board are the most caring people you will find. You wont believe the support you will get!

DEB - Where the heck are you????

Just a quickie to wish everyone a great weekend. We are just going to work around the yard getting things ready for winter. Cleaning pine needles off the roof, rain gutters, etc. Hoping Dh will take me to dinner tomorrow night. We won't be having our weekly pot luck since Mom is gone. So......have a good one everyone, and hope we can all stay op!

Bob-- So far all he has shared with us is a huge halibut that he caught. BUT, the plans for Christmas include him bringing home KING CRAB to go with the PRIME RIB that we will furnish. Sounds yummy to me. Get your airline tickets......I will wait dinner on you!!

I just had to write and say that when you mentioned the sores all over your son's mouth, it reminded me of my son a year ago. He had canker like sores all over his mouth and on his tongue. The doctor figured he had what is called "hand, foot and mouth disease". Apparently it is quite contagious and not uncommon in children.

Does your son have any sores or spots on the bottom of his feet or the palms of his hands too? My son only had it in his mouth and when I talked to a friend, one of her children only had it in the mouth too.

My son wouldn't eat or even drink water cause the mouth sores were too painful. (try a straw) We got a prescription for a rinse that numbed his mouth, but it only lasted about a half hour. He was in such pain that I asked for something to sedate him so he could sleep. The doc said to give him gravol.

It took about week for the sores to start going away. It's a virus, so there wasn't anything to give him, except for tylenol to help with the discomfort and we tried the rinse (I don't remember how old your son is--maybe too young for a rinse) and the gravol.

I guess I just want to say that I sympathize with you. It's so very frustrating when you don't know what's wrong with your little one and they're in pain. If your son has what mine did, it took about a week for it to start clearing up. It will get better, you just have to hang in there and try to comfort him best you can. I know it's hard on you too.

I hope your DS is better real soon.

My sweet youngin's decided to bless moma this morning and made me breakfast in bed...LOL The came totin' a plate with a cup of coffee, two wheat toast and a banana. Since I wasn't quite ready to get up I gave them the toast. Put the banana back and enjoyed the warm cup of coffee. :)

I made the mistake of making some white basmati rice last night. It was so delicious. I unleashed a lurking monster. I grew up on white rice and have only had nibbles in the last 2 1/2 years. Let's just say I ate a LOT last night. So, going to be a good girl and balance things out today.

Bob, I eat the oatmeal raw so I didn't add anything to it. I might try to add some PB to the kids sometime. I bet they would love it. Thanks for the egg recipes. I wish eggs liked me cause I sure like them.

Teensy, thanks for your encouragment. As much as I know you are suppose to eat breakfast I just don't care to eat till later in the day. Sounds like you are going to have a busy and fruitful day. When your hubby hits the long season remind us so we can keep ya'll in prayer. It can't be easy with him gone for so long. Has he always been a fisherman?

Heart....good deal on the new clothes. Sounds like you got some major bargins. And those 14's will fit in no time.

ChrisD...sorry you lost your post. And sorry your little one feels so poorly.

ChrisB welcome back.

Lene....our GNC doesn't carry the agave. I can't find it anywhere local here.

Jack-K....I can't wait till we have temps in the 40's. Hope you have a super weekend.

Poncho, I wanted to try the soy because of the high protein. And just to try something different. The only skim milk I'll drink if from Bordens. It has added stuff in it and taste wonderful. My husband was teasing me last night. He works for Borden and told his boss I was a traitor....LOL He is going to get me some milk from town. Where I live they don't the Borden's lite line but Robert can get some in the town where he works. He didn't know I couldn't get it out here in sticks.

Off to play with my graphics. I'm being lazy today.

Love and hugs,

The reason you don't see us listed is because we are playing the might Indiana Hoosiers today. Only chance to see it (unless of course, I want to go to Bloomington) is on tape delay tonight.

The game is actually pretty important, because if we lose we can officially kiss 6 wins goodbye...

hEY ALL.... JUST CHECKING IN...
I had a BIG scare y-day.....w/ DD!!!!
My friend and I were getting ready to go out.... and I was taking DD to my DM's house to watch her (DH is out of town...) I set her down to load the car (she was in car seat.....) when my friend carried her out side to the car... I noticed that she was sucking on her hand (she does not suck her thumb) It caught my attention (THANK GOD) I pulled out a big leaf that she was sucking on.... must have grabbed it while sitting next to it... waiting on me to go.... anyway, it turns out it was a poisionous plant (my mom knew what it was... and called poision control) !!!!!
I felt like such a BAD MOM..... Gosh not ready for this... gotta be soooo careful!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
It turned out that she was fine... and no ill effects!!!!
gotta run for now... will talk to you all soon.

Good luck on staying OP....!!!

Hey everyone!
Ds is not getting any better. he is so miserable.:) I feel so helpless. He is already sleeping for the night and its 715pm. Not like him at all. Plus he took a 2 hour nap today. For a kid that NEVER takes naps, he is sleeping sooo much. Im so worried about him.

ZANNE - Thanks for the concern. No he doesnt have anything on his feet or hands, just his mouth. Now today we noticed that his front gums are all red as well. The Dr. prescribed a med..its a mixture of Benadryl and Maalox. I hope that helps. His temp has been steady today at about 99. Just once during the day it went up to 100.4...but thats the highest today...I hope thats a good sign, considering it was up to 103 yesterday! He is 27 months so I cant really do a rinse. And, since its viral there isnt anything else to take other than what I am giving him.

ANGE - what a scare that is. Thank God she is ok. Its so true how we have to watch everything.

Well on a lighter note, I was able to make today, for the first time, a Zucchini Loaf. It is soooo good! I havent had a full piece yet, but of course I had to taste. I will definitley be making that again!

Have a good Saturday night everyone. We are trying to figure out a movie to rent...no luck yet!

Good Sunday morning....got up at 5 and got dh off to work again. He is still helping out his friend. His friend is a diabetic, and is in pretty bad shape, but has all of these excavating jobs to get done before winter, so dh goes and runs the backhoe, and loader for him. Dh has been retired from the Operating Engineers now for 6 years, but can't stay away from that heavy equiptment. lol. But his friend said yesterday that he has a working proposition to make dh. So I will have to wait until he gets home to find out what it is. Curious......

Yesterday we got the roof all cleaned off, and the rain gutters cleaned. Mowed down my wild flowers and hauled off a bunch of garden waste to the burn piles. Wish it would rain again so we could think about our fall burning. It has frosted most of the week, so I am still covering the tomatoes at night. Praying they will hold out just awhile longer.

Brant came home yesterday to spend the weekend with his brother before he leaves. They went out last night, and Mommy hasn't seen her boys just this morning. Hope they had a good time, but were careful. I still worry about them even though they are adults now. Love them so much.

Country-- Could you possibably get in a fruit early in the mornning?? Maybe just a serving of melon, or a pear or peach.....just something to get your metabolism going?? It is my youngest son who is the fisherman. He has been doing this for the last couple of years. He just made foreman, so going out this time will be alot more responsibility for him. But also more benefits, like being flown home for a week every now and then!! So it won't be as bad as last year! Glad to hear that!!

Ange-- So glad dd is okay. They are so quick, and it can scare the he** out of you huh??

Chrisd-- I am so sorry to hear that ds isn't doing any better. If you are that worried, maybe it is time to get him back in to the Dr. Or maybe it is just that his body needs the sleep now to heal. Prayers are with you, and hoping for a speedy recovery!

Off to fix breakfast......

Hi Everyone

Just wanted to check in to say Hi to you all and to welcome all the newbies. I was away working all last week and will be leaving again this evening for another week away. I have no computer access while away so haven't been able to keep up with the posts and haven't the time to read a whole weeks posts when I get home. The weekend seems to go by so quickly by the time I get home, unpack, do laundry, check mail and e-mail etc. This afternoon I hope to get out to lawn bowling. I missed it last week and haven't done much of anything during the week except an occasional swim in the hotel. If I get there soon enough that is what I plan on doing this evening.

Eating has not been good with all the restaurant meals although after the first two weeks away I stayed the same. Alas this week I am up a couple of pounds which I deserve to be. It's like I was seeing how far I could go before packing on the pounds again. :(. So this week I plan on staying op as much as possible and hope those extra pounds will disappear by next weekend.

Gotta run. Have a good week everyone. Will check in again next weekend.

Marie.

Hi all!

Sounds like quite the weekend for all of you! I'm tuckered out just readin' all your posts. <g>

Crystle, my GNC doesn't appear to have the agave nectar, either. Poo. I'm gonna have to make a run down to the coop, in a nearby town. It's only about 45 minutes away, so I don't know why I get down there so rarely. I'll take advantage of the trip to pick up some good brans and stoneground flour and so on...

My son will be so happy, I'm going to make the whole wheat Toll House cookies this afternoon while he is out. I've been promising to make some treats, since he's been so good about his mom's dietary changes! LOL I will end up using regular brown sugar for the brown sugar, subbing Splenda for the white sugar. I'll allow myself to have a cookie or two tonight with a cup of coffee, and I don't suppose they'll be *too* "bad" with the small amount of brown sugar. Luckily, I can enjoy one or two cookies as an indulgence without going on a binge -- other foods are the culprits for me. <g>

Making chicken with mushrooms, and steamed brocoli for supper. We used to live in Italy, and I still miss "the mushroom lady" at the market there -- used to buy fresh mushrooms there a kilo (2.2 pounds) at a time, cook 'em up in a skillet in olive oil, with herbs and a little wine. Mmmm. Can't afford to do that often nowadays, at US prices. DS could easily eat them every day, I think.

Hope all the little ones get to feeling fine and dandy soon, and that all of you have a great "rest of the weekend!"

I know I promised I'd post regularly this week, but I got blindsided by a lot of stuff I wasn't expecting work-wise. Usualyy if i can't post first thing in the am then I don't get to post the rest of the day--and my mornings were all hectic last week.

I'll try to do better next week I promise.

Just wanted to offer my congratulations to BOB and Missy for their games yesterday! And offer condolences to Gator and Ellen.

Auburn was off yesterday. We will play W. Kentucky next Saturday and then UT on the 4th. My NC STATE did well yesterday too. So after a slow start my teams seem to be back on track. At least for now.:^:

Last night I was invited to go with some friend to a chestnut-themed dinner. I have no idea whether chestnuts are legal or not (being nuts, they probably are). It was interesting, we picked chestnuts, processed them and then had a three-course dinner where everything was made with chestnuts. Having never had chestnuts before, I had no idea what to expect, but everything was good. Most appeared to be SB legal so I think I did OK.

I hope everyone is doing well. I'm battling fall allergies so I'm very sluggish this weekend. Got some Claritin this morning and that seems to be helping.

I'll talk to everyone tomorrow!

Well I got caught up in life and haven't posted for a couple of days... But here I am now!!! I made a pot of white bean chili today. I got the recipe off the sweet sence board. It smells great and I hope it is. Its kind of gloomy and cool here so it will be a good night to try it. Tomorrow I'm trying the zucchini loaf everyone is talking about. I got all the ingredients to make so many great things this week. Well I know I'll never get caught up posting to everyone so I'll just shut up now and tomorrow is a new day....

Very quick check in ....

Retreat was fabulous. The college campus was HUGE...about 10 miles long and about as wide. The buildings were beautiful, the mountains were beautiful, and the women were awesome! We had a blast. Eating as not too bad. This morning's breakfast was fruit and cinnamon rolls, so one other low carbing gal and I headed out to McDonalds for some protein. All in all, I did pretty well. I am very tired, and heading for bed. Night all!
