Good idea BA!! I always have a 1 quart bottle of water with me. I drink 6 quarts a day, so whenever I leave the house I always have one with me.

Wink Well one thing I carry around is

about 70 lbs of fat. Whenever I really want/need to move it reminds me I need a healthier life style.

I wear a pedometer to remind me to move
A water jug to remind me I am probably not hungry but thirsty.
An old bottle of diet pills I never took to remind me there are no quick fixes.
Pictures of my beautiful son to remind me everyone in my family is not fat.

Miss Chris

let's see...

my knitting so i can keep my hands busy when bored or stressed

lots of spare change so that i can, in a pinch, get some chili at wendy's.

a case of water bottles in the car [but what'll i do when winter comes and it all freezes?????].

sugar free candies.

a bag of jerky.

all my gym stuff [except for some reason no socks!!!!!],

a cane so i can hike safely,

my fanny pack with an epi pen, topical benadryl, and albuterol inhaler [plus benadryl for the dog - yes, the two of us are allergic messes!!!!]

and at work, a couple of spare protein shakes just in case... and there's a loaf of grainy whole grain bread in the freezer and a few SF ice pops

and last but not least, an insulated bag with lunch and snacks - low carb yogurt, some cheese, deli rollups for snacks. today's lunch is a lamb chop, and a couple of stuffed mushrooms, and a couple of tablespoons of rice.

SlimFast Meal Bars for when I'm stuck and starving. Sometimes they're pretty mashed from the purse but still tasty enough to do the trick, esp if I have a bottle of water with me which I do if I'm out and about for more than a bit of time.

In my wallet I always carry my "fat" picture - the only pic I have of me at my highest weight. If I'm at the store and I've got a "bad" item in my cart I'll see the pic when I open my wallet to pay and it's actually led me to tell the cashier to put that item aside (last week it was a litre of Cadbury chocolate ice cream). I also carry a pic from the past where I'm at the weight I want to be again - it can be a real incentive, because even though I know I'll never be that young again, I will be that thin and healthy again - I WILL!

I carry
- my exercise clothes
- 20 ounces of water
- sugarfree gum
-my food journal
- some type of health & fitness literature in case I end up waiting somewhere
- usually a Zone bar or two for cravings or bad food environments.
Lots of good ideas here though!
Thanks for the thread.

DANA!!!!! that's a HUGE meal for me!!! and i have a small salad as well!!! i doubt that i'll get through it all!

as for the yogurt, that's just what i'm calling the dannon yogurt that has only about 16-17 g of carb. most of the SF yogurts have 29-35 grams, and that's just waaaaayyyy too many for me.

i have my pedometer on 95% of the time. i carry a 1 L water bottle. that's about it.

i don't go around with snacks usually. i often have gum, but i think of it as a "good breath" thing, not a "healthy lifestyle" thing.

I carry:
- my Palm pilot to track my food & exercise (and everything else!)
- water, usually at least 2-4 16oz bottles in the car
- an Atkins bar & macademia nuts in the car plus an emergency bar in my purse.
- SF gum, both for breath and a "sweet" craving
