Good Morning CEers!!!!

I have to share with you all a "Praise the Lord" that happened to me yesterday. As you all know I had a tooth that absessed and I was in moderate to severe pain. I woke up yesterday morning all swelled up on my left jaw area and hurting from my ear to my lips. I have been taking Tylenol and Motrin alternatively for pain. Well, I've told you about the dentist insurance thing where I didn't get my printed cards. Well, I called the dentist yesterday morning first thing and told them what was now happening, they called the insurance company and called back to say that I could come in at 3:00 yesterday afternoon but be prepared to wait a while.

I was hurting so bad by lunch time that I was at the screaming point. Chewing or talking or moving my mouth was almost unbearable. I decided since I was diabetic I had better try to eat something, since I wouldn't be able to eat for several hours. So, I heated some vegetable soup very hot and started trying to eat it. I finished it and got ready for the dentist. My dentist insurance cards came in the mail which we checked on the way out. My dh took off work to drive me the hour to the Dr. I slept all the way there. When I woke up I wasn't hurting and was able to move my jaw, smile, talk and not scream. I was kinda sore but not in great pain like I had been. They called me back in about 15 minutes and the dentist came and looked at me. Turns out she is a sister to some friends of ours and she was a super person. She examined me and asked if I was ready to get that thing out of there and I told her I thought we would have to antibiotics first. She said we can, but we could just pull it now. So we did. She gave me shots that I didn't even feel, and made sure I was deadened totally. She was the most gentlest, most precise, dentist I have ever been to. I didn't tell you that I have a fobia about them. I would rather have major surgery than go to the dentist. Well, she has changed my whole opinion about dentist!!!

I truly believe that it was through all the prayers that all my friends here and CE said for me, that my pain left me and that I had such a good experience with the dentist. I have never had a GOOD experience before. They normally can't get me deadened properly. And I am a bundle of nerves which doesn't help. But not yesterday, it was so good!!!!

Thanks to all my friends here at CE!!!!! Ya'll are the best!!!!!:grouphug:

Good morning everyone!

Sherry, I'm so happy you got that tooth out. I was quit concerned because I almost lost my husband to an abscessed tooth. He spent 10 days in the hospital, and had to have it drained from the outside of his jaw even after the tooth was removed. I am thankful God was there and took care of you in all aspects.

Thank you all, again, for the warm welcome. Right now I'm reading all the posts, trying to figure out who is who, and then I'll jump in and answer all the posts.

Sunny, I am insterested in hearing how you do on the South Beach PROGRAM. Right now I am just trying to keep my intake under 2000 calories a day. With God's help, I want to learn to eat right. Yesterday was a bad day for me. We went to court to obtain guardianship of Genesy (currently we're her foster parents), and there was a curve ball thrown at us regarding her father. This whole situation is like a soap opera, and I was sick yesterday.... and ended up eating whatever I wanted. But I can't let this situation keep from becoming healthy, especially since I'm a 2-year-old's primary caretaker.

Anyway..... thank you all again!

SHERRY ~ Morning!

What a wonderful way to begin a new thread! Such great news!! :cp: I am so very happy for you.
Especially that... not only have you been relieved from all that pain, but found yourself a super dentist to boot!
I am so happy for you!

God is just so GOOD! :smug:

CONNIE ~ Hello there...

I am doing great on that program :) I really like it! I have been on it since the middle of July and have lost 11lbs... It will continue to drop, but it is slower, which is good. Then I know it will stay off. The best part of this program is that I feel good!! The only treat I will not give up is my Dove Dark Choc!!!! :^: I have just limited myself to one - maybe two a day (& I am still losing)... cannot wait to begin Curves, because then I may see an increase in wt. loss after the first two weeks of doing it. Just take a look-see at the bottom of my signature from time to time --- that's where I post my weight-loss, okay.

"YOU ARE IN MY PRAYERS AS FAR AS YOUR GRAND-DAUGHTER!' I am so sorry that you have to go through all of that! My thoughts are with you.
Have a blessed Day!

PS>>> You know what I did, Connie, to keep up with everyone? I made 'Bio File cards' on each of you. Then I am able to keep my facts straight. When I began the thread I was mixing people up  so that's when I made up files. Then as I gain more info on each person I just fill the card in. It's fun for me and I love getting to know you all.
*Note---you all have assigned colors too ;)*
I know... ... strange, huh. But that is me... Miss organized.

Sherry: I am so pleased to hear about your tooth experience. It must be so painful. A coworker has to wait until Wed to have her molar extracted. She has an infection and a crack in her tooth and has to wait until the infection subsides to have it removed. She can hardly work because of the pain.

Sunny: Thanks for the info on Prevention. I used to be there all the time. It looks like I'll have to visit again. I found that at Curves the weight loss is slow but the inches are coming off. I guess that's important too. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.

The weather is still incredible here. It's not usually this warm here this time of year. I'm loving every minute of it.

I hope for each one of you a wonderful, productive day. I'm off to work!

09-09-2003, 10:03 AM
Sherry~so happy you had a good experience at the dentist's, despite the pain and having a tooth pulled. Sheesh! Hope you are taking it easy today, woman!

I had a disturbing talk with a friend last night, really out of sorts today but i am starting my day with decaf and a shake for breakfast and the hope to be low-carb today. I'll just worry about today, today.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

09-09-2003, 10:13 AM
MICHELE ~ Morning!!

Great to hear from you today, but not such good news, huh.
I hope that whatever you & your friend spoke about - it all gets ironed out soon.
You too, Michele, are in my prayers & thoughts!!
Feel better!

God Bless!

09-09-2003, 10:33 AM
I'm back

~Connie~ I'll pray you get your grandchild (Genesy). It sounds like you have a cool home to be raised in. With all those pets and plenty of grass to run around in.

~Sherry~ Thank God you got that tooth fixed! :cp: I don't like dentists that much either. When I was a kid living in Pennsylvania we went to a doctor in Valley Forge PA. that worked on his car in between patients. His business was out of his home. I don't know why my parent went to him. This was in the 60's. Can you imagine Having him putting his hands in your mouth after working on a greasy car?

~Doitforme~ I need to loose 100 lbs too. I'll encourage you in your quest to loss. What is your diet and what are your short term goals?

~Sami~ You had a really tough life. When did Christ become a part of your life? Have your experiences helped you witness to others?

~AmandaPanda~ What part of Ireland did you want to move to? Tell me more about your friend Nigel?

God bless you

I remember times not seeing any new posts for a few days-- this is way better.
Had a pretty big day yesterday, I checked in after work and was going to come back to the computer but the nephew played some games, Angie was working on her exercise journal, and my son had homework-- I tried to stress the importance of CE but they just blew me off and told me to go watch the football game

Got a call yesterday morning from the social worker-- we have a meeting with my nephew's mom and 3 sisters/families and my nephew's mom-- and of course his mom next week-- and of course my brother and his wife to represent my neice-- anyhow she said her office was thinking of having the kids go to the meeting so they could be explained to "that they are not going to be living with their mom- ever!"
Help me out here if I am wrong but I told her no way--he is just a little boy, 12 and his sister is 8-- at the present time they are still allowed to visit her, although the dept. doesn't recommend overnight they have given my brother and I the say so on this as we feel in each situation. At the present they still have a dream they will be back with her some day-- and they might-- some MIRACLE could happen with her filthyness and other problems, I seriously doubt it, and she can petiotion to get them back. I think by the time the kids figure it out that that isn't going to happen, that they will have adjusted to it. Any advice?
He is doing so well at the present-- his teachers really like him. After school I allow him to stay in extended day care for an hour or so-- this way he can play a little bit with the other kids-- there are not that many his age in my block-- his extended day care aide says he is the greatest help!! She hates to see me come and pick him up:lol: He got a poor grade on a math test 5 out of 15-- he studied the wrong chapter-- thought he was in trouble-- I told him as long as he studied then that was a situation that we could overlook this time-- all his other grades- so far- have been very good.

SUNNYD How is that ankle today:( I hope it is much better! This gives you a chance to take it easy before you start pumping iron at Curves:strong: I saw the South Beach diet a few weeks ago on Dateline(?) looked very interesting. So you are keeping files on us huh-- working for the CIA/FBI-- NAPSTER? Thanks for such a good job of running this site!! We really apreciate it!

SHERRY-- WOOOHOOO What a good feeling to have that over with huh! My dentist is the best also!! I have had alot of work over the years-- great shape now........ excuse me, I had to go find some wood to knock on:lol: I just know the rest of your troubles will be successful too-- PRAYERS- So glad to see you back!!

doitforme Wow Sue, that sure seems like the greatest job for you-- plus no driving in the snow, etc.. I am praying so much for you that if it is God's will that it will happen!! Nice that you have added some color to your posts! You wild thing:lol:

MICHELE Sorry about the disturbing talk with your friend. What is up with the decaf- no one (OK-ME) survives without a gallon or 2 a day of leaded:lol: Great job on watching your eating this week-- don't spend that bonus on a food treat now dear-- get something sexy for the next new guy-- he just might be the one ya know:o

WILMA- Walking too! You are starting to sound like my wife with all this exercise!! Good for you. You certainly are taking this lifestyle change seriously. Just keep on going forward with whatever works for you with the carbs, etc. Glad to see those boys coming around-- did you know that putting a foot in a college boys rear end from time to time burns up a whole bunch of calories:lol: -- that is why my boy has a donut to sit in-- kidding.

JUDY Yes the Salvation Army has a drug rehab, in our area anyway. They are the greatest! I have learned a bunch about their program- Christ centered, from my brothers and friends that programmed there. So a mechanic/dentist-- bet he made a ton of money!!!

CONNIE I gotta run off to work-- late already-- want to talk to you later on that ordeal with the GD.

SAMI I have not forgot you!!

Hi everybody....I give up....there's no way for me to keep up! I do read over the posts...sometimes fast, I'm afraid..not a lot of time these days. I enjoy them so much....& I DO pray for all the needs....glad that tooth came out, Sherry.
SunnyD....hope your ankle is better...I didn't know you had hurt it, until a few minutes ago. Take care of yourself...we need you. You've got us all spoiled!!!!:D

Got results on the lab work yesterday....white blood count still real low. Supposed to stay off Methotrexate a few more days, & get it tested again.

Connie...I'm praying for the situation about your granddaughter. Wish you well.

Praying for all of you...these just kind of caught my eye today....like I said....can't keep up!! You know what? THAT'S GOOD!! That means there's a lot of us here....& we all love & count on the Lord! http://members.aol.com/gardenmail/anibear.gif

09-09-2003, 01:32 PM
GARY ~ I am so sorry to hear that you have to go through so very much to help out those kids, but it happens. My sister tried to help by fostering a couple boys for a mother on drugs (& did for 2 years!) and then the mom called the police on my sis just out of the blue, saying my sis was abusing the kids... she loved those boys like they were hers! I saw it for myself when I went for visits. Anyway, the charges were dropped last month when the boys were found out - they were being coaxed by their mom to say things against my sis, because the mom was jealous that her boys were calling my sis "mom"! She should have been glad that they had a "stable-bit-of-life" with my sis. Now my sister cannot even see them anymore, for her own safety... she runs a daycare and was so afraid of losing it. Sometimes things just don't seem right!

I must agree with you - I don't think that the children should be brought into these situations... that's what adults are for --- their protection and guidance! When a parent cannot do it; that's when another adult who cares does... in your case --- you & Angie and your bro. & his wife. I think that their mom may be a bit green with jealously about the love Ron may have for you both (& your niece's love for your bro & wife) and is beginning to fight it. I have found that people on drugs or drinking are very 'self-centered' and don't see past their blinders to do what is best for the loved ones around them. Anyway, that what I think - for what it's worth.

I have a full card of prayers... that is for sure!! You are on that list without a doubt. Please keep us up-dated, okay. Those poor children must be so confused... :(

On a little brighter note... Gary, how was your SD's soccer game on Sunday? My nephews played while in HS and they were great - I personally love the game and went to most all their games!

 NOOOO... --- I am not working for the FBI :dizzy: Just strange about keeping my facts straight is all. Too funny! Oh and the ankle is pretty tender today, but I think I will survive :dizzy: :) Thanx for asking...

Take Care, okay...
God Bless!

God can't lose.

O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvelous things: his right hand and his holy arm, hath gotten him victory. Psalm 98:1

AWWWE ANGEL ~ You don't have to try and keep up, it is just wonderful to hear from you! I am sorry to hear that your blood is behaving badly still, but you have my prayers that you'll be feeling like your ole self again real soon!
Take Care...
((((Big ole Hugs)))

Sunny, Help!!!!!:dizzy:

I have been trying to do the graphics and cannot make it work. I have Windows XP. I have tried going to several sites and right clicking on an gif that I liked and clicking on properties, but when I go to edit to click on copy it is whited out. I even tried to hit Ctrl +C but that didn't work either.

So, where is the "copy" that you are using???? I even on one site when I right clicked I got a choice of copy above properties and I tried clicking on that but that took me somewhere else. Help me please!!!!!

09-09-2003, 03:29 PM
HI SHERRY ~ I have Windows Home XP as well. When you get to the properties - do you see the URL code? If you do, just highlight it first then on the highlight area right click again... you should see copy. Left click on copy the go back to your post and paste. Don't forget to add [IMG] code.

Just a *note*... I have noticed some of the graphics don't work, but most do. Try again. Hope I have helped.

09-09-2003, 03:36 PM

Hopefully the above is two pictures, first being me on fire and the other one my shining face for figuring out how to do this. :D

09-09-2003, 03:37 PM
Oh SHERRY~ I do open a second window to search for graphics --- leaving the Forum open. Are you following me? On my screen I have TWO windows open --- my graphics page & the thread, okay. Maybe that will help you.

09-09-2003, 03:38 PM

09-09-2003, 03:39 PM
Nope! It looks like you put [URL] instead of [IMG] around the address of the graphic.

09-09-2003, 03:41 PM

09-09-2003, 03:41 PM
SHERRY... Go to the bottom of my post where I have a graphic & you will see "SEARCH" and go there. Look at some of my posts... do you see the codes there?

You got part of the code --- you forgot the [/] in the last part :)

09-09-2003, 03:42 PM

*whine* *whine* What now???? I am computer iliterate. :(

09-09-2003, 03:43 PM
Try again...

09-09-2003, 03:44 PM

09-09-2003, 03:47 PM
Take a look-see at the Mail truck I just did... go to my SEARCH at the bottom of my post :) It's okay... you can delete all of this later if you want

09-09-2003, 03:50 PM

SHERRY, above is the url to a place I know will work -- I just used it... try it, okay. Hopefully I have given YOU the right address ;)

A second window will open when you click on the url - click on a theme then on the graphic as I told you.

09-09-2003, 03:59 PM

09-09-2003, 04:01 PM
SHERRY YOU did it!

09-09-2003, 04:02 PM
Thanks so much Sunny!!!! I guess it was the site I was using, cause I did it just like I had been. ???? Thank you so much!!!! I am thrilled!!!!

09-09-2003, 04:02 PM
:cp: YEAHHHHHHHH!!!!! :cp:

09-09-2003, 04:04 PM
Now if you want ~ just go back to your posts and you can delete anything you don't want to keep under your edit, okay.

I am happy for you! I thought it might be the site you were on --- some don't work.

09-09-2003, 04:19 PM

SHERRY ~ I am so glad I could be of help...
I enjoy this computer so much that I will help anyone enjoy it as much as I do ;)

You were NOT a bother --- so don't even think it or say it.

Have a great evening! I have a practice tonight for church on Sunday. My hubby & I sing in a small group called "GIFT OF SONG" --- so much fun.

09-09-2003, 04:23 PM

Wow! Busy Busy Busy, Love it!
One man's burden is another person's blessing. I don't know how a parent can mistreat a child especially a baby, but the great people that get involved make such a difference, gee that would be you and your brother ect.
Hi E.Z. I had time the other day to play a bit, which a was fun! I will keep you and yours all in my prayersIt is a big step but it will be worth it. My pastor and his wife are on call as emergency fostor parents they just recieved a 5 month old baby boyHe brings so much joy to them, it gives his wife something to focus on, when her 4 kids are at school, besides his illness, He is still doing great, no known problems tests all came back good ! God willing He will remain healthy.
Connie- Still praying about your grandbaby and trust that situation will work out as well! Sherry- GREAT JOB ON YOUR GRAPHICS YOU DID IT! with Sunnys help She a pro with the graphics thing. Glad the tooth is feeling better. :bravo: Judy- I really haven't been dieting with camping off and on all summer, I need to get it in gear again, just hard when I was on vacation so much and I did a two weeks missions trip with 9 teenagers so jnk food was everywhere. But I had an awesome summer, and will get going again, I come here not just for the support I recieve but also for the christian love and fellowship of sharing problems, asking for prayer requests, a sounding board you name it. These guys have been there through a lot of stuff. You will see they are an awesome lot.

09-09-2003, 06:16 PM
Sunny-:sunny: DHope your ankle is doing better! When I try to attach pictures it always says wrong type of attachment I can never attach a reg. picture of something, I have a scanner and everything but can't see to make this site accept the picture, how do you do it?
Sami- Hope everything with DD dress works out, and that the rest of wedding prep goes well. Mitchy- Good luck with the low carbs, and hope all is going well! Wilma- Your just loaded with energy curves, and walking, not to mention an extra bathroom , cause you know who'll be cleaning that. hope all is well at work Hope I didn't miss anybody, I am not as organized as sunny! I won't know if I get the new job untill after the 17th, That is when they will call for interviews appreciate all the prayers, it would be awesome. gotta run love to all! Gotta work days tom, and getting audted on money acts. so hope that goes well also. bye!

09-09-2003, 07:00 PM
Hello Again CEers!!!!!

I was suppose to rest today but as you can tell I've played on computer. I am feeling much better and I want to thank each and everyone of you again for your prayers. God is so GOOD!!!!

Sue~ Good to hear from you! I don't understand how a person could mistreat a baby especially. They are so sweet and special, then they grow up and become teenagers. Just kidding!!!

Sunny~What can I say but THANKS!!! Now is I could just figure out how to MAKE the graphics. That's another day!!!! :smug:

Gary~Isn't it GREAT having so much posting. It REALLY keeps me busy trying to read them all. My heart goes out to your niece and nephew with all they are going through. Kids don't understand those type of situations, they are just babes and their nature is to love. They don't have to know who, why, what, where or how? Our world would be so much better if we were all like that. But no one can be anymore in THIS world. You just keep you head up and know that we all are behind you 100% of the way. ;)

Angel~Prayers go out for you too with the low WBC. I'm so glad the tooth is gone forever!!! It's hard to keep up but so inspirational. I remember a time that we would go for days without any posts. Gary and I were talking to ourselves a lot of the time.

Eisenj~ Nope, don't think I would like my dentist working on the cars between patients. :nono: That definitely doesn't work for me!!!!

Michele~Sorry your talk got you down. Hope everything works out for you. Tell HIM all about it and HE can help you. Thanks so much for your prayers!!!!

Wilma~ I know what you mean about the pain. I was on the verge of losing my mind. I didn't have any pain meds and only had motrin and tylenol to take and that barely touched it.

Connie~ Thank you so much for all your prayers! I was beginning to get real worried myself about this absess, since I'm a diabetic!!! But God saw me through it as usual. :D

Hope everyone has a GREAT evening, I must go spend a little quality time with the family now.

09-09-2003, 07:31 PM
HEY EVERYONE-- Did you see that picture SUNNYD posted? Haven't we seen that short lady in the back on America's Most Wanted? Are you sure? I think we have -- her and another lady-- goes by the alias Sherry-- are wanted for HOGGIN' ALL THE SPACE ON THE C.E. THREAD!!!

Hey girls-- nice work-- I haven't got a clue on doing anything like that-- probably a good thing!

Had a pretty easy day today-- waiting here at home before I go get the nephew from his after school day care-- giving him time to play-- I might go do a half hour on the elliptical and watch Dr. Phil, like I did yesterday.

Sunny-- my step-D won her soccer game, they haven't been doing too well. It is a club team, high school soccer starts pretty soon- last year she was on the freshman team, this year she will be JV. I love high school sports- she also plays softball-- my son did cross-country, basketball and track and field-- my daughter did track and field and tennis all 4 years they were in high school-- then continued it into college--- I LOVE WATCHING THEM-- RARELY and I mean RARELY miss a game-match-meet. My son is a sportaholic and always has been.

Looks like the festival was fun-- we have a whole bunch of things like that in California-- people walking around with coon-skin caps, guns, etc-- we call it DOWNTOWN!!

It is a real bummer what your sister went through with those kids-- ya just never know.

doitforme Hey I think you did pretty good with the junk food and 9 teen-agers-- you came back alive and (sane?) The 17th is going to be a great day!!! So glad to hear your pastor is still hanging in there. Keep up the good work with those kids at church.

ANGEL-LOVER I know what you mean- trying to keep up. Don't worry about it-- if you are not here you are probably doing something more worthwhile down at the station. Life is funny- sometimes alot to say and post- other times not much going on-- sometimes just no time period!!

SHERRY I think you are gonna get the hang of this after all! I thought you were doing great--- WHEN YOU USED TO POST!!!-- now SunnyD is showing you up:lol: I love it when 2 women go head to head in competition---- CAT FIGHT:lol: ;)

09-09-2003, 07:50 PM
SAMI I am sorry to hear about DD's dress-- I hope something good has happened since you posted last telling us about it. How about the decorating- all finished? The main thing I want to know is ARE YOU STILL HAPPY WITH YOU DRESS? i know you have spent months stressing over it:lol: I know- NOT FUNNY! How much longer before you get some time off to work on the wedding? Prayers for all those other youngins of yours and their dating tribulations.

CONNIE- Sorry to hear of your situation yesterday at court-- always a surprise isn't it? My sister in law doesn't want to raise her kids-- but gets real jealous when the kids are with my brother and I.... she really doesn't have much of a choice-- none of her family wants to raise them--- alot of that though is because they would have to deal with her--- they are tired of it-- me, I just flat refuse to talk to her about anything-- there is nothing at all she can do for me-- she is not allowed to get out of her car when she picks up my nephew-- if she does I have told her I will stop the visitation-- long story, but she is nothing but trouble and has been for the 20+ years I have known her. I wish you the best in raising your granddaughter-- I am almost 50 too and wasn't looking forward to another kid-- mine are in college and my step-D is almost 16--- my wife and I were starting to make retirement plans-- relocating to that area-- probably won't now-- for a few years anyway-- we are not quite ready to retire but we were very interested in relocating now for the future. Prayers for your family and grandkids (the one on the way!)

Well I think I finally got one off to everyone today-- DAISE, GEMonster, Joanne, AMY-- anyone else-- stop in and say Hi sometime.

09-09-2003, 10:37 PM
Now... now Gary, there are no :nono: cat fights in here. Just lending a helping hand where needed is all.

You are just too funny... 'Mister Man'. I will catch you all in the morning. We had quite a busy evening at our practice & I am very tired

I must say... we are sure a Colorful group, aren't we :) :D :smug:

A very GOOD-Night to everyone! :cloud9:
Sleep well & dream sweet dreams
God Bless...

Hi everyone,

I just bought the new Dr. Phil book yesterday. I'm only on the first chapter. I think it will help with my weight loss. Went to curves again. My goal is to beat all the weight losses on that wall. I know I can do it!
I am going to the eye doctor this morning. I have been putting it off, because the kids needed glasses first. The older I get the worse my eyes are getting. You should see my husband and I at church. He has the hymnal at arms length and I've got it up very close. We no longer can share a book.

See you later

HI JUDY! I must say... I really do enjoy your quotes! Makes you think.

Me too! I did wear glasses normally, but my eyes have changed in the last 5-6 months and I cannot see clearly 'up-close' anymore (I am --- was near sighted), so I haven't been wearing them at all, except for driving or watching TV these days. I am the world's greatest procrastinator when it comes to Dr's of any kind. Everything else I am on time, but me & Dr's --- I am so bad. You motivate me to get my eyes checked too. My hubby just bought a pkg. of reading glasses - he too has been hit by the 'getting-older-bug' I am afraid.

And I am going out to get Dr. Phil's book also... I really like him! He makes so much sense, doesn't he! In your face sense! I just think it is so great, Judy, that you have gone back to Curves, bought the book and now thinking of going to the eye dr.... you are on a roll! A really good one!

Looking up to you! ;)
God Bless! Thanks!

http://www.countrycolors.nu/graphics/sigdolls/doll05.gifAWE... THANKS SHERRY! How kind of you to say that. I really enjoy lending a helping hand and making people happy. I too think the world of all of you! And consider you all such Dear Friends! My hubby said that if we were to ever meet "in person" he thinks we would be disenchanted... do you think that's true? I don't! I don't know about you, but I find myself to be MORE honest & true to you & myself on here then in life. I think I have become such a better person since the 22nd of August & joining in. This group has brought out "the best in me" ~ This IS ME! I so love people! After all "we" were molded & created by God! Isn't that so cool  !! Aren't we so Blessed to be children of God!?!

Anyway, it is ' I ' who am grateful to all of you!

Sherry, you are more then Welcome! :)
Have a wonderful day back at work today, so glad you are feeling better!

A Special Prayer for our Troops...

Thinking of you with prayer, Angel, along with your daughter & her husband
(& your family) and all those living their lives without their
loved ones beside them.

May God Bless!

Hi ya'll

Good morning and happy Wednesday! I'm at work and hope to have a busy and productive day. Yesterday I started a journal and I made small daily goals for myself. It helped. I got things accomplished and feel I can today make my goals. Small steps for me. I didn't go totally low-carb, i had a sandwich yesterday but I've improved and today will be even better.

Gary~re: your DN and family. I think you have a good attitude. Seems that you are caring but also realistic. I think it's good to want the best for the kids because they are so young and regardless of how icky their mom is, they love her, and as a Christian I do believe all things are possible and WHAT IF? It would be great if she got it together but your main concern is protecting the children. I have a cousin who had major problems with drugs/alcohol and sad to say, we(the family) weren't sure she'd pull out, but through the grace of God, she did and has been clean and sober for over 10 years now. You wouldn't believe how her life has changed. But when she was in that life, we knew we couldn't totally give her the benefit of the doubt. I guess I'm saying you are doing the right thing I think. Hang in there, i'm sure it's not easy raising him, but you are blessed!

Have a wonderful day all!

SUE ~ First off - A very Good Morning to ya!

In answer to your question about pictures: the best I can do to help you out is to let you know what " I " do ~ When I take my digital pictures they usually are 1600 pixels x 1200 pixels and then I double click on the picture (once I have put it/them on the computer) & then there's a list at the bottom for a slide show; to bring the pic closer; to turn them in a different direction; to delete it; to print it; to put it to disk or to change it... the LAST one is what I click on (to change it). And when I do... I am taken to my PhotoImpression by ArcSoft program with the pic I clicked on all ready to be changed (a program that came with my cp). Then I go to the Edit (in PhotoImpression) and change the pixels from the 1600 x 1200 to 320 x 240 pixels... it is the perfect size to add to the post. Then... when I go to save it I save it in JPEG format or type for the post.

I sure do hope I have helped! It is kinda difficult sometimes when I don't know what programs are included with your pc for photo's.

You can still scan in your picture & do the same procedure above. Just make sure that your picture is 320 x 240 pixels (no matter what size pic you scan in above that # - just reduce it to 320 X 240) --- if it's a smaller pic and is still rejected by the forum all I could think it would be would be the type --- it should be JPEG.

Well, that's what I do... Luck! I sure hope I have helped you! And not confused you all the more! :dizzy:

HI MICHELE :flow1: ~ How are you doing today? Did everything work out for you and your friend?? :?: I thought about it all day yesterday... cuz sometimes me & my closest friend have had some bad days, but always worked through them and have become closer through the years. I sure do hope that you were able to work things through.

So glad to hear that a journal helps you keep in check. Be careful not to go too low on your carbs, okay. It may make you feel more stressed and you need some carbs for working out. Just make the carbs you eat come from veggies more often or high grained carbs when you " do " have bread or pieta or alike. What seems to cause more havoc with our bodies is the "white" flour products, processed foods, & sugars! I wish you well on your new endeavor

Have a wonderful, successful day today! :flow2:

09-10-2003, 11:38 AM

Just checking in before I head off for the day. I have a lot of jobs starting today so I will be really busy for a few weeks-- I can't complain-- OK I CAN!!!-- I have had it fairly easy the last few weeks, a lot of 6 hour days, but then the nephew took up the slack!!

He is really enjoying school and the after care program-- he is starting volleyball today so that too will give him some "Energy Time"

I was just kidding S and S girls on the cat fight -- as I know you know! It was fun watching you "chat".

I agree that we wouldn't be disenchanted if we met--- we would not be meeting under the same situations as someone would if they were using the computer as a dating service. Pretty sure we have all expressed a lot of our faults here.....
I know for a fact that being totally handsome and cute and adorable and a great cook-athlete-chick magnet-movie star quality-good listener-enjoy walks on the beach-great dancer-read books-enjoy classical music-country-pop-rock-rap (NOT!)outstanding husband-great attitude towards diet and exercise...
Well we know even with all these attributes "I" am probably not perfect:lol:  Just ask my wife!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Michele-- love the idea with the journal! It really helped me when I went from about 193 to 165 a few years back-- that and 2 hours at the gym 5-6 days a week:) Plus I really watched what I ate too- it was a total package thing. I can do these things- if I can train for and do a marathon I can do this stuff-- BUT I DON'T WANNA-- or is that WHINE--A;)

I am with you gals on the glasses-- been using reading glasses for a few years now and it is getting tougher each day to see any objects up close... ahhh old age, ain't it grand.

Well heading out--

09-10-2003, 11:45 AM
Now... GARY ~ What can I say ~ you just crack me up  :joker:  !!! Joe comes in last night wondering what I was laughing so hard at. It was YOU & your post - you just bring so much laughter to this thread. What a great sense of humor you have!! Sorry for HOGGIN' :D

So good to hear that Lara won her soccer game! I really enjoy soccer... Yeah! :cb: Hope that the winning streak continues when her games begin this year in H.S. on the JV team --- cool! My father is also a BIG H.S. sports buff --- especially Football! My nephew plays (his grandson) & my brother says my Dad gets a bit loud at some of the games & he walks away (like to say, I don't know that man  ). Too funny. I have gone to a few games myself here with Joe, but I am not quite the fan that you & my Dad seem to be ;). Keep going to those games and cheering! That's wonderful that you do!

Gary... there's plenty of space for us all   so come on in anytime!!!!!!!!!

09-10-2003, 11:57 AM
Seems that we posted at around the same time. You have a good day at work today --- don't work too hard (gotta take care of that 'old' back, ya know ;) ), but give it your best.

And I know you were jesting... I enjoy your humor. Just funnin' back at ya. You are a great guy and we are so lucky to have your point of view here on this thread.

And I am so glad to hear that you agree with me --- I think we are pretty darn honest with one another here. That's what I loved about being included and with such inviting warmth I might add. Thanks... I feel better.

Have a great day, Gary
and keep honing your sense of humor --- :joker: love it!

09-10-2003, 06:51 PM

Where is everyone? :?: ?

Since we began this thread I haven't seen Amanda, Sami (that Wedding is getting closer! Hope it's all going well!!), Daise, Christian, Amy, Homebound!!!

Miss you too, Wilma & Connie...

Where are you guys :?:
We miss you all!!! :(

:) Hi, I am new to this site/forum but not new to being an overweight Christian.

You can refer to me as Marilyn and/or Sprout.

Something about myself:

a) I am a mother of 4 -- oldest two are girls both in their 30's and married, the oldest having 3 children, my younger two are 14 and 15 and are still at home -- we adopted the younger two when they were 2 and 3 and both have special needs. I homeschool both of them.

b) I have been a Christian -- made my profession of faith when I was very young, was baptist though when I was in my 30's.

c) I have been overweight for just over 34 years -- can't believe it has been that long as I don't feel that old. Over the years rather than 'losing it' I 'gained it'. Top weight recorded was 286. I started a walking program after much encouragement from doctor and hubby -- on January 2, 2002 and as of today have walked 620.25 miles :dizzy:

d) I am trying to be a cancer survivor. I have my first surgery on September 7, 2000 but the cancer reoccured this year -- so I have had to have radiation from May 25 to July 24 -- am now in the process of trying to heal from all of that. Also hubby has been told once again that he might have cancer of the prostrate -- he was checked out last October but even though it was enlarged there was no cancer -- but the PSA tests done 2 weeks ago have come back showing the level is higher than 1 year ago. He is now on med's for 2 weeks to see if it is just an infection. We really don't need 2 of us with cancer!!

e) Have been using two different Christian programs to help with my weight -- and they have really been a help.

Well that's it in a nutshell. Hope to get to know some of you here.

09-10-2003, 08:23 PM

WELCOME MARILYN! Well, you have come to the right place! I hope you make this your home :flow1: ~ you will find all the encouragement, kindness, laughter (!), and most of all 'Prayers' here! And you can share to your hearts content.

WoW :o you sure have been through quite allot! You are already in my prayers that this last radiation treatment did the trick on that nasty cancer. Your hubby is also on my list, that he may keep his health. What is your hubby's name? And your children... if you don't mind the question. How long have you been married? Sounds like you have quite a beautiful family! :)

If you want to know a bit about me ;) just go to MY PROFILE or to MY SEARCH (Search---once there just go to the first few posts I wrote & there's info). Any questions - just ask, okay.

Doing Wonderful on your wt. loss so far! Ya Hoo! :cp:

God Bless!

09-10-2003, 09:17 PM
Hello friends and welcome to new ones! ;) Marilyn, welcome to the group, are you the one i saw on the journals? Glad you found us! And I pray that you are healed and your DH too! Gosh that's a lot to put on your plate, thank God we have him to turn to, huh? Hang in there and thank you for telling us about yourself.

Today was going really well, until this evening......:( Didn't make all my goals today. And I feel like cr&p.....so tired. Tomorrow I'm going for a walk after work. I've been working every night this week doing mystery shopping and it's taken a toll on me. No more for awhile. I need to take care of me.

OK, i'll admit it, i'm hooked on Paradise Hotel! Can't wait for tonight's episode. If anyone is watching, I love the Barbie group! It really is a good study on human behavior and on good and evil. I wonder if they had a 30+ version if they'd act so ridiculous?

I'm thinking of all of you and praying that all you needs and desires are met by our Heavenly Father! :grouphug:

HI CE'ers--

Hi everyone:wave:

Was hoping to see a little more posting today after yesterdays slugfest between the S&S SISTERS ;)

Glad to have you hereMARILYN -- you have come to the right place for support. Boy you and your husband have been through a lot in the last several years-- God bless you! That is a whole heck of a bunch of miles to walk-- good for you. My wife and I trained 6 months to walk a 26.2 mile marathon-- we did 430 miles in that time-- started out doing 1-2 a day-- ended up doing 19-20 miles some days towards the end. It is great that you are keeping track of it-- helps with the incentive!! keep coming here for support.

MICHELE - I forgot to mention that when I quit keeping the journal my weight shot back up to 178-- of course a little bit to do with it could be that when I quit exercising I quit keeping a journal and when I quit keeping a journal I quit eating as well and when I quit eating as well I had nothing good to write-- have something good to write-- I am going to start a new journal since I started using my elliptical again.

SUNNYD :flow1: I am with you-- where is everyone- but ya know what? that is what happens here! That is why Wilma, Michele, Sherry, Sami and I are so thankful for you and our other new friends!! People come and go--I have stayed for over a year-- HEY MAYBE IT'S ME-- driving them away;)

I cheer a whole bunch at games-- but in a good way-- I never/EVER say anything bad about a kid on either team-- you may never know who is around. I learned that years ago when I was in high school-- a couple of buddies and myself were really bad-mouthing a player on our high school football team during a play-off game-- come to find out his parents were sitting right behind us--- after the game the mom told us it hurt her feelings for us to say such things and that her boy was doing his best-- boy did I feel small-- of course one of the reasons (and not a good one) we were saying rotten things was that he was a bully-- we didn't say anything to his mom-- we just ate a big dose of humble pie--UMMMM.

Well Angie and I are co-cooking dinner tonight-- tostadas! Oh, I got the greatest e-mail today-- it started out "Hi Daddy-- remember when all the girls on the tennis team came for your cheese enchiladas? Well guess what- we are going to try and make them here at school-- how do we do it?" Excuse me while I strut:lol:

09-10-2003, 09:33 PM

We post together again-- I am ashamed to admit it but I love that stupid Paradise Hotel show--- Angie cannot stand those programs--- I watch alone!! But I don't care-- I have no class and am not afraid to admit it:lol: I love the Barbie group too-- I think the boys are truly good people-- the girls I am not so sure about-- but they are certainly better than the others- especially that loud mouth short one- forgot her name-- the one who hooked up with that other idiot that got kicked out this week for threats- ZAC?

09-10-2003, 10:54 PM

Good Night everyone!
Hope to see more of you tomorrow...
God's Blessings be upon you & your loved ones.

God can't be given a problem He cannot solve.

But Jesus beheld them, and said unto them,
With men this is impossible: but with God all things are possible. Matthew 19:26

09-10-2003, 11:08 PM
Hey Dude~I have class, but I still like the show !:lol Part of it I think, is it makes you think back to your younger days and I enjoyed those years. For the most part ;)

Going to bed early tonight :zzzz:

09-11-2003, 02:23 AM

Just something special to remind everyone that God is still on the throne. 9/11/2001 is on my heart tonight and I awoke thinking about it. My prayers continue to go out to those that lost love ones, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc 2 years ago. Even though we might have been thousands of miles away. . . . . . .we all were affected.

Good night my friends. :tired: :grouphug: Say your prayers. Here's something to remember:

What if God decided to stop leading us tomorrow because we didn't follow HIM today?
What if God couldn't take the time to bless us today because we couldn't take the time to thank HIM yesterday?
What if we never saw another flower bloom because we grumbled when God sent the rain?
What if God didn't walk with us today because we failed to recognize it as HIS day?
What if God took away the Bible tomorrow because we didn't read it today?
What if God took away the messenger because we failed to listen to the message? (Think about this one!)
What if God didn't send His only begotten Son because HE wanted us to be prepared to pay the price for sin?
What if the door of the church was closed because we did not open the door of our heart?
What if God stopped loving and caring for us because we failed to love and care for others?
What if God would not hear us today because we have not listened to HIM?
What if God answered our prayers the way we answer HIS call to service?
What if God met our needs the way we give HIM our lives?
JESUS LOVES YOU!!!!! Don't FORGET it!!!!

http://www.tcdesign.net/Misc/starsnstripesw_ribbon.jpg Hi everyone....just a quick post, I'm afraid.

Co-manager's dad is dying...so I'm at the station full time for a few days. Remember the family in prayer. Had a full day yesterday...it was unexpected. He's been real sick, I just wasn't expecting a call yesterday. Manager & co-manager (my close friend) are husband & wife....so when one is gone, it's usually both. Control room operator is out of town on vacation. (wouldn't you know it!!) Anyhow...I managed...took toll on my poor ole body!

I'm praying for all...

09-11-2003, 07:58 AM
I am so touched by your 9/11 pictures. I was so scared that day for my husbands life. My husband is an eviromental engineer at a bomb plant. They make platoniom here. He does mostly clean up now. I thought if we were under attack his job location would be a top target. He asured me that they were not going to attack his job site. So many innocent people died that day.So many lives changed. I don't know about you ,but I truly believe that we are living in the end times. When the rapture happens I'm ready. I have a bumper sticker that says" In the event of the rapture cars yours". One location I feel is in big danger of terroristic attack is Disney World.

On a happier note. Laura is dancing this weekend at a craft fair in town. I am making cookee pops in terecotta pots. They look like flowers in a pot. They have inspirational sayings on the flowers. The flowers will be made of rice crispy treats. I will icing them with royal icing and decorate them. This is to help raise money for the dance troop. Later in the day the girls will be practicing with a choreographer from New York. She will be training them all weekend.

Be back bye

"The individual activity of one man with backbone will do more than a thousand men with a mere wishbone"

Hello all!
Just a quick note right now. Today I have a very full day! It is, our niece, Lia's 30th Birthday today (I feel so bad for her --- to have a B-D on 9/11) and we are going to cheer her up by taking her to an afternoon "Tea" Birthday party at a Tea Room. There will be about 11 or 12 of us there. Lia is the one that is due for baby #2 the third week of Oct. (Sierra is her oldest, the little one that just turned 6 the other day). And then I go to meet my girlfriend for our grocery shopping afternoon. Then tonight... I have a Tupperware Party to go to. I am going for my sis-in-law --- but I truly hate those selling parties! Besides, now you can buy Glad or Ziplock containers so much cheaper. As I said, I am going for my SIL in support, but she always puts on a good party so I am sure I will have a good time visiting with everyone.

You all have a Beautiful & Reflective Day today... I am thinking of you with kindness & love in my heart for you.
May God's Blessing surround you.

SHERRY ~ Thank-you so much for that Beautiful thought-for-the-day... so very encouraging.

Angel, So good to hear from you! ;) You & your friends are in my thoughts & prayers during this rough time in their lives & yours! (((Hugs))) God Bless!

09-11-2003, 08:54 AM

Hi JUDY ~ Just love your bumper-sticker  ~ it's great!

My Joe & I also believe we are "in the last days". Many of our Christian friends believe the same... God said when we stay close to HIM - His children will reconize the signs! Just keep your candle lit, by prayer & reading... God will be your guide & protection.

You have a wonderful day making your cookee pops in your pots for your daughter --- I have seen those done, adorable! How many do you have to make? Have fun doing them! Too bad I am so far away... I'd come and lend a helping hand. Just love crafty things to do. Wishing your daughter & dance troop well this week-end!

God's Blessings for a good & successful day!

09-11-2003, 09:58 AM
It's another rainy day here but we do need it. I don't know if any of you have heard about all the forest fires up here in Canada. Many have lost their homes so the rain is most welcome.

I have been doing really well with my WOE. I faithfully take my salads and fruit for lunch. Last night I did indulge in chicken strips but had half as many as I usually do. I weigh in on the 18th and am looking forward to seeing the difference. Some of my clothes are fitting better now and that makes me so much more comfortable.

Marilyn: A big WELCOME to you. I have been overweight since I was 13 and know the struggles you have gone through. I sure hope you find support here. Keep us posted on how it's going.

Sunny: Have a good time at the party. I used to like going to them but now find that I don't have the time to go. I agree with you about the other containers although Tupperware has some really neat stuff.

eisenj: Those cookie pops sound so cute. I used to love doing things like that when my guys were little.

Angel: I hope you're coping well with the stresses at work. Remember that you're not alone even if you think you are.

mrshummer: Thanks for the reminder. Today is an anniversary of an event that is so horrible. I pray that there isn't a repeat. I do have to keep reminding myself that God is in control and HE knows what is going to happen and give us the strength to carry on if it does. By the way, how are you doing with your weight loss?

Gary: Never ever think that you're driving people away. I don't know if I would be doing my work outs if it wasn't for your encouragement. I appreciate your being here. Did your daughter let you know how her cooking evening went?

Michele: How are you doing with your weight loss? I've been reading up on the diet you're on and it seems healthier than the Atkins diet.

Sami: You must be swamped with wedding preparations. Did you solve your DD's wedding dress problem? Praying for you.

Zoe: Where are you, girl? I miss you!!

Have a wonderful day!

09-11-2003, 10:14 AM
Hello all!

It is a day for reflection but I already think of it as Patriot's Day! I'm so proud of how our country rallied together and there were many hero's on that day. All of our lives changed that day, in some way we were all touched, but I choose to see the positive side of it and all the good things that happened. God Bless America! and all loving people worldwide.

Wilma~I am doing Atkins (or trying to!). ;) After reading his book you may understand that it is not unhealthy at all. I'm interested in knowing about the South Beach diet, i hear it's similar but allows certain other choices like fruit and whole grains. That may be a bad idea for me, but I'm not sure, cuz i don't understand how it works.

Make it a great day!

09-11-2003, 10:24 AM
Just another quick note before I head into the shower (no comments from the peanut-gallery  )...

Hi GARY! DON'T EVER think you are driving anyone away! I agree with Wilma... you are TOPS! I really do enjoy 'your' point of view and your sense of humor. So keep sticking (!) around here.
You, my friend, would be very missed!

And I love to hear things like your DD's note --- how nice, huh! You have to right to be strutting, you gave of yourself and now you get to be there for the rewards... a daughter & son that look up to you ;) Keep on struttin' :D

Don't work too hard...

 Morning WILMA! Thanks for the well-wishes :) I was told that Tupperware has come out with some cool stuff too. I'll take a look-see tonight.

Congrats! In staying with your program, it is really tough to do when coming off a vacation... thumbs up ;)

My prayers for all those suffering in those fires! I just couldn't imagine.

Hi MICHELE  You are so right there! We have allot to be proud of, don't we.

I have to catch you again later --- I really must be going.
Have a great day! ;)

Till tonight...
Have a good day with the Lord today!

09-11-2003, 10:27 AM

Getting ready to go to work- got up at 5 to watch the news-- since 9-11-01 I have turned the tv on every morning to watch the news--sad, sad day. We have a BBQ and service at church tonight- last year we got a tremendous amount of people from the community. The nephew gets extra credit if he goes and sings-- I told him I have heard him sing and I'll give him $20 to not sing:lol:

Nice to see you doing great on your diet Wilma!

Have a great busy day SunnyD-- I agree with the Tupperware, however we have some in our house I know is 20 years old-- But I don't feel too bad leaving the Gladware at church after potlucks either.

Sherry thanks for the prayer-- Blessings and prayers for your day.

Angel-Lover- sorry about the hardships that you are facing again-- thank God for your faith.

Judy have fun with all that "spectating"- I used to love to watch my daughter when she was in tap and ballet between the ages of 4 and 11-- then she discovered tennis.

Michele- I saw a 20/20 or dateline on the South Beach- looked interesting.

Sami-- how are those wedding plans going?

Anyone seen Zoe?

Hi to all the new-comers-- come back and visit.

Have a blessed and safe day- Gary

09-11-2003, 10:30 AM
I see we posted at the same time again Michele and now sunny-- forgot to tell you Wilma that my DD called last night to thank me for the recipe-- they are making them tonight. Gotta run!!!

Thank you SunnyD. I know we will have a fun time. I love craft shows. I graduated from University of Pennsylvania and The Academy of Fine Arts with a BFA . Never used my art background much after I got married. I do backdrops for VBS at church. I also love wood carving. Now that the kids are grown, it would be nice to get more into carving and painting. Would like to try Trompe L'oeil.

~Marilyn~ Welcome Thank you for sharing with us about your family. Homeschooling is very popular in my area. If I had started schooling my kids in elementary school I would have done it. I really get angrey when my kids are tought that evalution is fact. I fought the school board for years. I wanted creation tought along side of the evolution theory. Peter Jennings came to our town to cover the story. I'm in his book Searching for America. He made our town sound hokey, but thats ok. In this day and age any media coverage about God is a blessing. There are alot of scientist that believe in creation, but they would not get the funding if they spoke up.

got to get moving

I sent ZOE a Personal Message last week and she responded. Told me she would come on by soon... I told her she was being asked about and missed.

Isn't it nice that we can get up every morning and 'start over' without our Saviour holding anything from yesterday against us!!

I rejoined TOPS last night. They had asked me to come back -- it is a small group --- only about 6/7 attend each week -- but I mentioned to them that if I was to come back that I would like to see a difference in the meetings. Previously all they were doing was getting weighed, reading the 'minutes' from the previous week which tells how everyone has done weight wise -- other than that it just seemed to be a 'chitchat' of nothing in particular. I was a member years and years ago and it was run very differently -- they did have the minutes but they also had weekly programs -- something that would give motivation to the members to get the weight off. When I was a member years ago originally the group was really not getting anywhere but when they decided to have proper programs all of a sudden they had members start to lose weight to get it all off and keep it off. This group I have gone to now is just the same as it was 3 years ago -- they really aren't making any headway individually or as a group. They have asked if I would come along and help them get the programs up and running -- so I said ok.

Anyway I have decided to keep my weight chart starting from last nights weigh in. If you are interested in reading how this is going have a look at my journal -- am keeping a chart there as well I will be journaling my food -- hopefully starting that today.

Has anyone read the book '3D - Diet, Discipline & Discipleship by Carol Shhowalter. Very good book -- all Christian based. I am putting a lot of what she says into my personal plan, as well as ideas I read from the book 'Thin Within' and a 12 Step Christian Weight Loss Plan (has a workbook with this one)

If anyone is interested in joining me in this plan -- there are questions to help you 'step forward' in your walk with the Lord and to lose weight -- let me know and maybe we can start up another 'thread' to cover this.

Wildfires: Up here in Canada where I am (BC Canada) they have been terrible. We are very grateful that now after 4 months we have had rain. A lot of the firefighters have been sent home after being here for 4 months. And now they say there is some terrible virus in our city and they don't know where it has come from -- but a lot of the firefighters have been terribly sick. Praying that we aren't going to be affected -- what with dealing with my reoccuring cancer, cancer threat now in my hubby (Norm), 2 special needs children I am homeschooling, and the wildfires -- don't need to get sick on top of that.

Has been busy day today and I haven't even done my walk!! And boy can I feel that I didn't -- hopefully will be able to get it in -- but now am waiting for the repair man to come and look at the dishwasher.

Have a good day everyone

Here is the site for Sprout/Marilyn's journal...

Marilyn you just forgot the [url] code so it would link them to your journal, so I just thought I'd lend a helping hand while I had a moment in between things today. Hope you didn't mind ;)

09-11-2003, 05:37 PM
Thanks SunnyD -- is the the (url) code that should go in your signature so that it will show up on all posts?

I have changed it to that so hope that is correct.

09-11-2003, 05:57 PM
Sprout... it still isn't correct.

Yes! What you need to do is...

When you go to your signature you have the address (that's fine), but you need to surround the address with these codes. This at the beginning of your address: [URL]

09-11-2003, 06:00 PM
And this: [/URL] at the end of your address without any spaces in between. It is part of the code you need to make it a link. Do it just as you see it done in the bold print, okay.

Hope I have helped you understand... I really must be going now, catch you later.

I found out alot of people are putting in for that position, some are in title so, I probably won't get it, wishfull thinking, but am still happy were I am and not everyone can say that. I am planning a trip to Alaska next year in June and july I just recieved my amtrack tickets, taking train cross country to Vancouver and then taking cruise ship ti Whittier , and train then to Anchorage, spend a couple days then cruise from Seward to Vancouver then train home, I am excited, it will be fun, always wanted to see Alaska.
Judy- Love Dr, Ohil don't get to see him often, but He does say it like it is. Those Cookie, lolipops sound neat. especially with some spiritual verses with them. Thank God, I have always been blessed with Good vision 20:15 I have never needed glasses. Hope all goes well with the dance recital, sounds like fun.
Sunny- thanks so much for all your inspiration, and help I'll have to try your suggestions I don't have a digital camara, and my software for pictures is just what came with my p.c. from hewlett packard, I'll just have to keep trying.

09-11-2003, 06:22 PM
Mrs. Hummer- thanks for all those writings of inspiration, they are so true, I am happy to see you back, your such an inspiration I missed you when you were gone.
Mitchy- hi ya! glad your feeling better- I did better keeping a journal keeps me on target, gotta get back to that, really am considering south beach diet, I kooked it up under google, sounds easier then atkins, I gotta check it out. Sprout- Welcome sorry to hear about those fires getting after you and wilma, pray rain soon takes care of them, they can wreck such devistation. I will keep both you and hubby in my prayers for healing, My pastor had a reoccurance of melanoma last spring he was given 7 months and he is now not showing any melanoma, he is at extreme risk for reoccurance, but there is only one answer the Lord intervened, back to that amazing grace and healing. I agree with you the wonderful Grace of Jesus is amazing, thank God he doesn't give us what we deserve. I agree with your comments about evolution, that is all our area public schools teach. Good luck at tops keep us posted. Angel-lover- so sorry to hear about your co-workers that is sad, pray it gets easier for you, and that your soon feeling much better, as well love your graphics as well !

09-11-2003, 06:38 PM
E.Z- We are not surprised with your list of attributes we knew that all along, your the only male we keep around all others have disappeared, that does have to say something for ya. We depend on ya for your yummy dinner suggestions, right through to manly advice, it all comes in handy not to mention how sweet you are! saves me getting my chocolate fix- NOT sounds good, but then again not much does, get between me and chocolate sorry to say I have to agree with sunny and you I think we pretty much level with each other, and would not be surprised or disenchanted if we were to really meet with the dinners you and your dw prepare, I have been tempted to pop in for an evening meal. What 's one more mouth right? Happy to hear your nephew is adjusting well, it is a tough row, He can't help but love his mom, I am sure one day he will thank you for your love and support. Wilma- Glad to hear all is still going well- planning meals is the one thing that does make a difference, and clothes that fit better, don't lie GREAT JOB !
I am camping this weekend so I am sure will have to catch up on Monday and working some overtime tom. trying to save for Alaska, but will try to pop in, before I leave, have an awesome weekends everyone God Bless!

09-11-2003, 08:23 PM
Thanks SunnyD -- I am going to see if I can correct it -- hopefully this time it works. Sometimes I get computer dumb but eventually I understand.

09-11-2003, 08:26 PM
OK, I have tried to correct the link to my journal, see if this works now.

09-12-2003, 12:49 AM
Had an awesome church service tonight-- our church was full-- over 400 people in service and another 200 that left after dinner-- we had several local Marines share their story of Iraq and Afghanastan-- the school kids sang and did a talent show while we had our BBQ outside-- I talked to my pastor and told him that there was just as many here tonight as last year and I was surprised-- he said that some people say we shouldn't hold these services-- we should move on-- I told him WE HAVE TO CONTINUE THESE SERVICES--WE CAN'T EVER-EVER FORGET

Off to bed- Peace- HIS PEACE- Gary

Good Morning everyone :dizzy:

http://www.sweetrainbow.com/freeclipart/srgattiani.gifIt was one busy & strange day yesterday. When I came home from shopping with my girlfriend I noticed that my Guido was getting sicker. He had been arfing for a day, but I thought 'fur-balls'...NOT! This kitty is ill! So he has a Dr's appoint this morning @ 9:30. Although, I did notice this morning he is acting like his old self again, but he's still going to be sure he is okay. I think he ate something that may have gotten stuck --- the darn cat eats everything under the sun! If I (or Joe) forget to put anything away that he might get into... it is in his mouth if he finds it, so off we go to the vets $$$$$$

Other then that is was a great day! The Tea was so much fun! (Got some pics, Gary ;) ) And so was the Tupperware party (even though I didn't buy anything). De always puts out a good spread of goodies, but mostly it was just great to enjoy the family & friends gathered. I bet there were about 20 or so there. Nice!

Enough about me...

GARY ~ That church service last night sounded so Beautiful! I think the services should go on too... I would like to see services for the Viet Nam vets more often too in remembrance. They went through so very much for our country. But I am glad that we have learned and now are not letting time get in the way of what happened to all those children who lost their parents, mother's who lost their children and husbands & wives who lost their partners. We must remember. How did the nephew do last night? Sing well? ;)

SPROUT ~ Sorry, but somehow your link is not linking... :?: All I can say is to keep trying. Maybe you can go to one of the 3fatchicks and ask them? Or ask on the journal board what they do. "Luck!"

JUDY ~ What is Trompe L'oeil :?: How are your crafts coming along for the troop?

SUE ~ You are welcome! Mine came with the pc as well... I also have HP cp. I hope you can work it out - I sure would love to see you and anything else you want to share. Have a great camping weekend! I'll pray for a dry one ;) The Alaska trip sounds absolutely wonderful! Something to really look forward to, huh. Save those $$ ;)

By the way, Sue... there is a forum titled Dr. Phil's Wt. Loss Challange Continued that I have found to be an interesting read if you want to pop over. I don't say much there, but I do enjoy the read :) Very interesting opinions & point of views :^:

Gonna keep praying that you get that promotion!!! Never give up.

I do hope that everyone else is doing well. Miss seeing you all here, but understand that life takes you elsewhere at times. You are all still in my thoughts and continued Prayers.

God can't let you down.

Now unto him that is able to keep you from falling, and to prevent you fautless before the presence of his glory with exceeding joy,

To the only wise God our Saviour, be glory and majesty, dominion and power, both now and forever. Amen Jude 1:24-25

09-12-2003, 09:14 AM
http://www.sweetrainbow.com/freeclipart/cuoca.gifOh... WILMA ~ They did have some really nice stuff at the Tupperware party, but I just don't need any of it and I am not one to buy just because or from pressure (which I might add --- there was allot of last night!). But they did have some nice things & I enjoyed the scocial time afterwards the most. Stayed there till 10:30! Late night for me ;)

Hope you are having continued success on your program! Thinking of you...

Good Morning CEers!!!

It's back to work this morning. I'm sipping hot coffee this morning and trying to wake up. Michele~ how does that work on decaf??? I have to have the leaded kind myself. Gary does too  Over the last few years, I have cut out cokes, cut out most sweets, cut out lots of fatty foods, decreased fats, decreased cholesterol, decreased calories but folks I need caffeine . . . . . . coffee!:D:smug::D

Gary~ Glad to hear your church service went well. Wow! That's a GREAT turnout!!!! BBQ huh, YUM!

Marilyn~Glad to have you. I hope you enjoy yourself here. WOW!!! That's a LOT OF MILES!!! You pat yourself on your back!!!! I would be extremely proud if that was me!!!!:D Keep up the GOOD WORK!!!!!

Sue~Think positive about the job!!! You may not get it but you WILL Get the job GOD has for you!!!! And then again you may just get this job. Only God knows for sure. Thanks for missing me. It's nice to be missed. :D:D Have LOTS of fun camping this weekend. I wish we could sneak off and go but our Friday nights are tied up with football games with the kids till October. But look out in October!!!!

Sunny~ How did the tupperware party go? I love them but just can't afford the prices! I'm glad you have talked with Zoe, glad we will see her again. I think we need to name you, Mother Sunny  You sure try to keep us all in line and help us out. What would we ever do without you my friend? Where did you get so smart? Speaking of that, since I had my tooth pulled which I thought was my wisdom tooth, since it was in the very back of my mouth . . . .my wisdom tooth is trying to come in. :faint: Who knew I would get wisdom teeth at 42?

Wilma~It rained here yesterday too. But we are so thankful for every little drop we got. We are in the middle of a drought. I don't think if it rained a flood, we could even catch up the year here. I do pray that God will bless us with a good soaking rain. And I praise God for every drop we got yesterday!!!

Judy~I like that bumper sticker too. ;) I love crafts too!!! Especially "country" crafts!!!! I used to do craft shows all the time but that is REALLY a job!!!! May consider in my old age. :)

Michele~I want to know more about the South Beach diet. What all do you know about it my friend? I did the Atkins for about two weeks but craved fruits and veggies so if the South Beach is more of these, it might be just the diet for me!!!! Let me know what you know!!! Have a good weekend!! Hope this finds you feeling better. Thanks for the devotionals!!! You are my blessing!

[color=red]Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT Friday and a GREAT weekend!!!!
I gotta scoot on off and get ready for work, but hopefully I will have enough time and energy to check back with you later. If now today, this weekend.

SunnyD...Hope you kitty is better, now.http://home.att.net/~scorh3/Animal1b.gif I got a chance to go back & read more of the posts, & found where you posted about the troops...& the beautiful image. That was very sweet. They ALL still need a lot of prayer.

My daughter has received a couple of short emails from Chris. He sounds good in those. The emails to his dad, however, are quite different. He doesn't know Gina is reading them. I kind of wish she wasn't...but, like his dad....I think she has a right to know the truth. She is holding up a little better now....thank you all for praying.

Doitforme....thanks for the prayers & the compliments. Everything with managers are the same....just waiting.
I love chocolate too!!http://www.agifs.hpg.ig.com.br/criancas/menina14.gif

HI Gals-

gotta be quick- taking my son to the high school where he coaches-- he is taking the cross-country team to Las Vegas for an invitational, and doesn't want to leave his car there all week-end. Probably 60 kids are going with the 2 coaches and parents-- was always a lot of fun when I did it with him for 4 years when he was in high school.

Sunny so sorry about your cat! sounded like he was doing better though-- hope the vet goes easy on you $$$$$ they sure don't with my brother and his pets. Always something!

Good morning Sherry- hope that coffee tastes as good as mine! Have a great day:)

Angel -Lover- glad to here some positive e-mails from Iraq.

Sprout-- good luck with your journal

doitforme-- when are "we" leaving for Alaska again? I forgot:lol:

Gotta Run-- be back after work

Good morning everyone,

~ Sunny~ Trompe L 'Oeil is a type of paint style. You paint on walls so they look like real windows or doors where there are none. Some resturants ask artists to paint tuscany grape vines, or pillars. You can check it out more if you search it on google. They have some neat pictures. The cookee pops did not go so well. I used rice crispy treats instead of sugar cookee dough. It was a sticky mess. Another lady used cookee dough and it worked alot better, you do have to make it preaty thick to hold the pop stick. She added sprinkles and put a bow on the stick. It was cute. The molds are at Michaels craft store in the cake decorating section. I think they will sell fast.

Sunny, I hope your cat is ok. Keep us informed about how he is doing.

~Gary~ You have alot of people in your church! We just changed churches last year. We had been in this church for 10 years. The paster died from cancer in the middle of a building project. We loved him dearly, and miss him. The new paster had trouble fitting in. He wanted to make changes and we where still morning the old paster. The building was completed. It looked great! The new paster started having stress related heath problems. He worried about the morgage and other stuff. He finally left the church. Some of the other staff members started fighting over stupid stuff. They started making big decisions without the body of the church. They said the body was babes in Christ and had no say on church matters. I say when your saved God guides you ,therefore we are all babes in Christ. We left along with half the congregation. They now have a new paster who is fantastic. there numbers are growing. I'm so happy God sent a good leader for the church. I would love to go back but there are still some hard feelings. Some of the old staff are still there. The music director ( old staff) refused to do any programs to honor the military or vets. He felt that had nothing to do with God. We also never had a good Christmas program. Another church had a living Christmas tree and he didn't want to compete. Who cares what other churches have I simple wanted to honor Christ. End of soap.
Sorry I vented on you Gary have a blessed day.

Good Morning Sunny!!!

I don't know what's happening sometimes with the images. When I place and hit preview they are there but disappear when I submit post. :?:

Thanks for the website. I will check it out.

I know I'm suppose to be at work but I came back home for a few minutes. That's what I love most about my job. I don't punch a clock. I have some freedom. So, I sneak around and see patients and run back home or the park and do Bible study or whatever I need to do. Like a little :mouse:

I hope your little kitty is ok. Maybe it was just something he ate and he's all better now.

Well, I'm off to check out Prevention.

Talk atcha later!!! :D

Hello everyone...

http://www.sweetrainbow.com/freeclipart/srgattino2.gifThank-you so very much for your concerns with my kitty --- Guido is better. He just got very ill with what seemed to be a flu 'type' bug. Can you believe it. The vet charged me $50.00 to tell me he was going to be fine and is well on the mend. He was so ill yesterday, poor baby. But is back to his old antics today, so good to see! To be fair to the vet... she did give him a "full" check-up while he was there. Guido weighs 13lbs :o !! My big baby :^:

I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but in case you didn't hear:
John Ritter died! I heard it this morning on the radio and so I looked it up on Google news when I got home. Here is the link to the write up in case you are interested. How very sad!! I liked him. http://www.hollywood.com/news/detail/article/1727720

Also, Johnny Cash died last night too ~ from his diabetes... goodness.

Talk to you again soon.
Thank-you again for caring so much :)

Look everyone! My Joe came home with some flowers for me --- for no reason, just cuz...

Sorry... I don't have any make-up on and it's the end of the day, so I look tired, but I just had to show you my flowers. ;)

Isn't he Precious!

09-12-2003, 09:03 PM
HI GALS

Well my day went pretty well- got the son off on his trip to Vegas, got the nephew to and from school and even a little work done. My daughter is on a tennis bonding trip with her college team-- they are up the coast surfing. My nephew just went with his mom for the evening and my step-D is doing an art project at her dad's house before my wife takes her and drops her off at the high school football game-- I don't go because it is the "OTHER" school in town-- not mine and my kids alma mater. I go to my high school games a lot-- especially during the playoffs which they are in frequently-- have seen many games at Quallcom stadium in San Diego over years- the local high schools get to play the championship there-- where the Chargers play-- a big deal for the kids.

SUNNYD-- What! Are you kidding? on the flowers-- for no REASON??? It is because you are a hottie!!!! Joe knows what a good thing he has and no way does he want to lose it. Yes I heard about Cash and Ritter-- was thinking at work they go in 3's- was wondering who was next and then I remembered Warren Zevon died this week- does that count? Glad to her the kid is OK-- they sure do cost us don't they? Wait until he starts driving:lol:

SHERRY I am glad you got a few minutes at work for yourself. You deserve it that's for sure! How are you feeling today? How are those kids doing-- the little one still exploring?

doitformeSue- Still waiting on that Alaska trip info:lol: Don't give up so easy on that job-- and if you don't get it remember the good Lord has a better plan for you!!

JUDY Sorry about your past church problems-- there are probably about 1,000 members in our church-- however only about 500 go to service on the week-end-- we have a Sat. night and 2 choices on Sunday- about 50 on Sat. and a little over 200 each service on Sunday. In any church if the focus is not on Christ it will fail-- it isn't easy making decisions for a lot of people- we have a lot of checks and balances at our church-- our Pastor has been here close to 35 years-- he is about 60. With any major cost decision we vote on it as a congregation-- for routine stuff we take care of it through voted on board members-- still there is complaints from time to time-- nobody agrees on everything-- I look at it this way- if the "intentions" were good that is enough for me!

well Angie wants to get on to work on a website she is trying to do-- not sure if she will figure it out-- it is for her class-- a site the students and parents can go to to see the daily assingments etc!

She is ripppppppppppppppppppppppping the computer out of my hands-- Later, In HIS LOVE-GARY

Hello! I am sorry I have been Stressing the last few days and then I come back and there are sooooo many posts I had to catch up! This week has been busy and I still have a lot of things to do to get done before the wedding but I do have a lot done. A girl I worked with her 14 year brother (he looked 8) killed himself. He hung himself. He went to school with my 16yr old. I went to pay my respects to the family and when I got there I saw over 100 people waiting to say goodbye. There were teens crying everywhere and I couldn't help thinking I wish he could see the all the lives his death touched! And I went and helped the church try to get put back together from the flood. School started again Wensday but the place is still a mess. It will take a lot to put it all back together. We also have gotten some bad news on two of my friends from church they both found out they have cancer so both will have surgery. Please keep them in your prayers. Thier names are Larry and Cathy and my DSFIL Warren also found out he has cancer. And I am going next tuesday to KY to visit my aunt who just found out she has cancer and going through treatment.
Sprout-A big welcome! And I will keep you and your husband in my prayers.
I would love to address all of you but I have so much still to do for this wedding I promise I will be better afterward!

PS. I think if we all met we would have so much fun I would share my scrapbook with all of you and we could have a great healthy pitch-in!

May the Lord be your strength today!

09-13-2003, 12:34 AM
Oy, Sami~ too many people afflicted with cancer in your life right now. So sorry dear. I will pray for healing, in bodies and relationships. And so sorry about the boy who committed suicide. You know, when we live our lives, and have hope in our Lord, it's hard to imagine that things would get that bad, but the statistics are so bad and sad. I did some training in LA when I was about 20 years old to be a suicide prevention counselor. It was on my heart to help, and this was in the pit of LA. The place was right next to a methodone center where addicts would come for their medicine. It was a wake up for me that people lead very different lives. Not that I've always lived a crystal pure life, not what i'm saying but i feel for people who are hurting.

Sunny~Aren't you the cutest thing! If you look that good without makeup, well i just don't know if i like you! ;) just teasing! That was very sweet of your DH! Keep him, i say! I suppose he'll have a good weekend! ;)

I went to the chiro today and he did acupuncture, my hip was so bad. I had two needles in my fanny :o , then he did accupressure and adjusted me. I instantly felt better, even the fatigue has kind of left me. But i've also made an appt. for next week to go over a few things and make sure nothing is really wrong with my health. Want to know about Chronic Fatigue Syndrom and Polysystic Disease.

Going to have sushi with a dear guy friend tomorrow. We enjoy spending time together and trying new restaurants and he's never tried an authentic sushi place, where you sit at the bar and they make your sushi in front of you. I think it'll be fun. Plan on having some saki and anago and CA roll and tempura!

Oh, may I ask for prayer for a 4 yo named Drew who broke his arm right above the elbow and had to have surgery. Very traumatic, mostly for his Granny (who is my boss and family friend, who was watching him and feels responsible for it happening). He just fell wrong while playing. She's having a hard time and not sleeping. Drew is doing well, home from the hospital now.

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Good Morning everyone!

Such sad news... SAMI ~ I am so very sorry to hear of that 14 yr old boy killing himself. Such hopelessness in our world today :( Breaks my heart! I am so sorry to hear that you have another burden in your life with all that you are doing for the upcoming wedding. And I have added Larry & Cathy to my prayers... my goodness! So much sadness! I wish that children at the ages of 12 - 16/17 knew that there are people out there who want to help them only a phone call away. To feel so isolated and not worthy of helping - just cannot imagine. A heartbreaker! That's why it is so important that people like, Gary & Angie, are around for their own when needed... at least you know that there will be one child that will make it in this world - even with a broken life. So many children suffer today... just too many! Too many... ... ... my prayers for his family as well as his piers.

My prayers for you, Sami.. you have a heavy heart at a time when you should be feeling joy. I am so very sorry! (((Hugs)))

Hi there, GARY ~ Aren't you kind... I think Joe & I make the best couple. I have been so very blessed to have someone like him in my life. He has always been there for me... through all the mess and now the fun in life. I am truly blessed and grateful to God.

 ! Yeah... at least that is something I don't ever have to worry about with my kids, huh. My girlfriend has a 18 1/2 yr old just beginning to drive... she never had an interest till now. She is graduated and now is going to her first yr college & has a job and her parents are still running her. Soon they hope she'll be driving. She has her temp & a car, but is very concerned with driving our winters... they can be very scary here! But she has to learn. So... no, I won't ever worry about that with MY kids  Too funny!

So... did you see the Katie Couric interview with Dr. Phil last night? He is so cool! Geeky kinda guy, but endearing. I really like him! He made me realize a couple things in just last nights show. So I look forward to his daily chats in trying to help this overweight U.S. Haveta go get his book yet though.

 Morning Michele ~ WoW! I think that it is so neat that you are a suicide prevention counselor ~ do you work with kids now? There are so many kids today who have that deep "I'm not worthy to live" feeling today and face the world alone because both parents have to work, or for other reasons unknown to us. So very sad. And schools are so full of "bully-type-kids" it makes it very difficult for them just to get through H.S. today!

Thanks! Yep!! My hubby is a keeper! You are so cute! ;)

I am so glad to hear that you are feeling a bit better with the acupuncture. I have never had it done, but have heard people (now you) say it really helps!

My prayers for Drew and for poor Granny. I am sure that Drew will be fine, but granny may hold onto to the guilt much longer then she should---prayers!

I hope that this note finds you doing well with your diet and exercise. Have you looked into the Atkins? Did you see Dr. Phil last night? Do you like him, Michele? I think he just makes so much sense!! He really motivates me to try and do better.

Well, today... Joe & I will be going to a huge Flea Market at the Fair Grounds. There will be hundreds of vendors selling their wares. We don't go for anything in particular, just enjoy the socializing and the fresh air. So much fun to look at all the goodies. I usually come home with a trinket or two, but nothing like some do... dressers, chairs, sinks, etc. FUN!! Then tonight we are meeting our friends for dinner and hope to catch a movie. So we have quite a full day today...

What are all of you planning today??
What ever you do...
Have the Best Day doing it ;)

God's word can't change.
For ever, O Lord, thy word is settled in heaven. Psalm 119:80

We are waiting...)

Hi everyone....only a minute to spare.

Manager's dad passed away yesterday morning, so I'm going to be with "my friend". Remember their family in prayer....going to be a long weekend.

Hope all of you have a good one.

Well just have a few minutes before I work today. All is well here, daughter called on her way to Magic Mountain for a college bonding thing-- all the kids from her school-- then at 2am they were leaving there to head to the coast for their surfing thing with the tennis team-- as of 8 last night they had no hotel-- pretty much the way the coach operates! No big deal if he doesn't-- we have and she has already called Angie's sister, she lives in the area and will help them out if they need it-- only 18 kids from the tennis team:lol: --NO PROBLEM.

Son safe in Vegas-- so far. No kids have gone AWOL yet.

Nephew made it back from his trip with his mom safe and sound.

09-13-2003, 11:21 AM
Sunny~No, I am not a suicide counselor now, actually I wasn't able to actually do the work after the training. It was so long ago and I think my work situation changed, but also, my family and friends gave me much grief for going down to that area for training by myself. It was very dangerous and they didn't like me doing it. There were other people there, but you still had to drive in a very rough area. It was dangerous and they were right. I always wished I had continued though.

Your flea market sounds like a lot of fun and hope you have a great time with your friends tonight!

Gary~glad to hear DN make it back safely. You probably have a bad feeling in the pit of your stomach while he is gone, huh?

I was stung by a bee this a.m. at the Farmers Market! :yikes: I just hate that cuz i don't react well to stings, bees sometimes make me ill, but wasps, for sure. I didn't really see it, i just saw this dark thing and it stung me on the inside of my right middle finger. People told me they aren't the honey bees and their sting isn't suppose to be as bad. It is swollen and hurts like the dickens. Makes me feel tingly. See if i get sick or fever tonight.

HEY everyone! I've been in reading land! Wow you gals and guy can sure post up a storm! I've been having a rough go of things for the past few weeks. Just feel real down and depressed and don't get me started on the food issue. I'm sure I've gained 20lbs...or so it feels. I was talking with my friend and she was feeling the same way...we both realized we've been under spiritual attack and where does satan attack, our weakest points -- which for me is food and self esteem and the boyfriend too. Well we are going on a Ladies Cruise to Cozumel on Thursday 9/18 - 9/22 and I think the father of lies has been doing a number on a great number of us Ladies that are going. It's a church group and a large group of the ladies are not Christians. I've been praying and crying out to God to help...and it's been a struggle. I don't like feeling this way at all.

I've been praying for you all as I've read your struggles and prayer requests. Welcome to the newcomers too!

SUNNY: There is a group of us around here that will be joining curves too! My friend I'm going on this cruise with she has been working out at curves since the first of the year. She really doesn't follow a diet plan other than tries to not eat more than 60 grams or no more than 100grams of carbohydrates a day and tries to stay away from the sugars. She really did not notice the weight really drop off till she started the working out doing the Curves circuit. From January to June she lost 50lbs and she's looking great. So I've seen it first hand how it's working for people. I was going to check into it after coming back from the cruise.!

Ok well everyone I'm at work now and I should get back to plunking away at emails. I hope to chat more later.

Thanks for praying for me and I'm glad we have this group to support each other...through prayer and words of encouragement! Even though I haven't posted much in the past few weeks, I've been trying to read and be encouraged by you guys! Thanks!

Hi Friends!

Sorry I've not been around recently - I have been reading, but haven't had the energy to reply I'm sorry to say!

I'm doing okay - been feeling very tired this week. I haven't lost weight this week and I've been struggling a bit diet wise - I seem to have lost my resolve a bit. I'll sort myself out this weekend and try to build up my motivation again. Maybe it's like Daise said and it's attack - I just feel a bit drained of my energy and strength.

We are still looking for work in Ireland and there is nothing about at the moment which is very disheartening. We want to go so badly and just want to close this bad chapter of our lives (me losing my job, Nigel's work related stress and bullying from his employers) and make a fresh start. Financially, things are getting tough and I may have to find work here until something comes up in Ireland, but it just feels like a step back from our plans, so it is disappointing. We've been looking for 6 months now and thought we'd be there by now, but it hasn't worked out that way. Oh well, I'll keep on praying!

DAISE - Sorry you have been feeling so low, I know how you feel! I know you will not be kept down for long - that cruise sounds like just what you need. Be kind to yourself (think I'll take that advice too!)

SUNNY D - Thanks for looking out for me and for the PM - bless you sweetie! Glad Guido is okay - it's so worrying when your pets are ill isn't it (not to mention the cost - but I know you, like me would pay any amount to get our pets happy and healthy).

SAMI - Sorry about all the sadness surounding you at the moment. I will pray for your friends and for the Lord to give you strength - I will also count my blessings.

Hope everyone else is okay - I'm finding it hard to keep up!

With Love

Amanda xx

Tired today, think it has to do with the weather. Norm (hubby) got called to work (railroad) around lunch time, son (15) went to the library this afternoon to work on a school project (I homeschool him) so for a few hours it was just me and 14 year old daugther (she has Down Syndrome) -- it was so quiet!!!

Watched Dr Phil last night and was impressed. His new sesson on TV starts on Monday and apparently he is going to be doing a lot on Weight Control/Issues. I understand that his first new show will have 12 people on it that are doing some sort of challenge -- going through his new book. I have read about 1/2 of it now and am looking forward to applying the 7 keys he outlines starting Monday -- starting then only because I want to get more of the book read before I start following the outline. From what I read I like the concept of the 7 keys -- believe it should help me with my focus. Am not really setting a 'weight loss' for the end of the 12 weeks I am going to be working on the 7 keys -- but it sure would be nice to have lost 12 pounds out of it.

Doc's say I should not be as tired as I am -- should be getting over that from the radiation - but boy am I ever tired -- could have a sleep every afternoon -- but can't allow myself that treat with homeschooling the kids -- someone has to be up and watching over them -- not holding their hands but watching -- as they both have special needs -- son has been effected from his birth mom drinking while she was pregnant -- and now we are going through a whole process with the medical profession to get him evaluated -- difficult process as a lot of doctors sluff it of as nothing -- but boy when you live with a child that has been just effected but they seem to accept the child with the complete syndrome but not the one that is borderline. Challenges, challenges.

Have not done as much walking this month as I would have liked -- not to sure why, just haven't -- but still have 1/2 the month to go, so am looking at working on getting in another 20 miles this month. Total miles walked todate is 621 and am looking forward to reaching 650!

Anyone wanting to do a 12 week challenge with me?

HI GALS

Well I finished my day at work-- I left plenty for Monday:D

SUNNYD How was the flea market? My wife and I enjoy craft fairs and going into antique stores, there are a lot of them in our area-- funny thing we don't have any antiques in our house. I am not sure about a flea market-- we don't need any of those either-- one reason we got rid of the dog years ago:smug: Dirving in the snow is not something I care for either-- I worry every time my kids get in a car to drive-- and as far as I know they are safe drivers. I had a lot of personal restrictions on them when they started driving-- now my step-D has her permit-- I haven't driven with her yet but my wife says she is "SCARY". I didn't get to see Dr. Phil and like the dummy I am I didn't think about taping it-- we only had 5 TV's in the house I could have done it on while we were watching one of my wife's (and mine) favorites: REBA-- it was the first one of the new season. My wife wanted to see it-- guess just cause she gets up every morning or in the evening and exercises and watches what she eats, minimizes her portions, eats healthy stuff more than not, etc. etc. etc.--SHE DOSEN'T THINK SHE NEEDS TO SEE DR. PHIL AND HIS WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAM----Hey I said what about me? Don't I rate?-- " Yes you do-- you can go down to the gym, hop on the elliptical and probably do 6 miles WHILE you watch Dr. Phil, you can only learn something you can lose a pound too!" I hate it when she does that...AAAHHHH... I watched Reba with her:) and ate :corn: -- today I feel guilty:lol:

MICHELE Acupucture huh? My friend did that with his back and was very happy-- my wife goes to the chiropractor all the time-- he is either doing good or they are having an affair:lol: either way she is happy and that keeps her off my back which helps it from hurting:D My kids are sushi experts-- their mom's former boss for 15 years- a great guy- was Japenese and took them for sushi often with his family, I like it too, some of it. Sorry to her about Drew, it is so sad to see little ones hurt-- I broke my arm when I was 4 too-- still have the cast and boy does it stink!!! Actually I just remembered I threw it away about 6 months ago when I cleaned out some old boxes. Hope your sushi hunt went well-- those little buggers are hard to catch- so slimy:lol:

gotta go for dinner-- chicken with honey BBQ sauce, jasmine rice with a greek salad and mill bread..

Be back after- Gary

Hello I thought I would post real quick before going to church. My prayers are with Drew and Grandma. My DD fell and burned her face The guilt ate me up and still gives me a sick feeling after 19yrs later when I think of it. Prayers for the manager family it is so hard to lose a love one. And prayers for the job hunting my DD just went through that and it took 3 months. I sat down with her and went over her interview and resume and relized she was comming across wrong her next interview she got! So you might have someone look over and listen to your answers and see what they think. Sprout You are a very strong person and my prayers are with you. I have a child who struggles really hard in school and helping her do homework I have to teach her what she suppose to be doing! When she doesn't understand she will not ask until she gets home. Her teachers are great she goes to a christian school and we keep close contact and I have to say she has come a long way. We held her back this year and the teacher talked to the whole class about it and all the kids have been great. Daise my prayers are with you. EZ I wish I had your wife as my coach! forget Dr Phil! Sunny the sad part about the kid who took his life is his mom and SD were really strong leaders in the church. She had 3 kids by another marrige and then married this Man and had two more kids. Her oldest is the one I worked with and she caused them a lot of pain dropped out of school moved in with some guy and then got married the guy she got caught shoplifting and went to jail then had a baby and her husband beat her so bad he went to jail and she is now divorced. My heart just goes out for that Mother! Mitchy I am worried you have been having a lot of problems and you are way to young to start it now. Wilma how did the boys like riding the bus. Well yesterday went well my Mom came over and permed my dd hair and she worked her fingers to the bone adding thank you cards to the party favors they turned out GREAT (but I still have 30 to make) I do have all the center pieces done! And I do have a back up in case my Pew bows don't make it in (I ordered them from e-bay and have e-mailed the person and they act like I should have them already but she didn't answer when she mailed them!) I am going to try to let my dd dress out on the sides I held it up to the light and it seem to have an inch on both sides My friend would do it but she still has the other dresses and I don't want to stress her unless it takes more than letting out a seam!

Thank all of you for your prayers for all my Friends who are suffering with cancer. They are Christians and I feel strong that the Lord is with them. Have a great Sunday!

It's a fabulous rainy day here in central Texas. :rain:Yeah!!!! We have been extremely dry all summer and it's good to see the moisture. Praise the Lord!!!! :flow1: I'm tired:tired: this morning but not hurting quite as bad as yesterday. I am still having trouble with my gum where I had the tooth pulled and now the other side is beginning to hurt (last few days). Got to have the other pulled too. :dizzy:

I've been reading forever this morning :spin:and now don't have enough time before church to post to each :write:and everyone of you. But my thoughts and prayers go out for each of your prayer requests and each of you. I hope you have a GREAT day!!!!! God is so GOOD!!!!!:flow2:

Happy Sunday morning ,

I missed most of the Dr.Phil show w/Katie Couric but I tape his show daily. I'm thinking of going to get his new book today though. My mother was very impressed with him and what he has to say about weightloss. He makes it sound so easy. Is it that easy? or is it that we make it so hard? Something for me to chew on for awhile.

We found the sushi place, it's called Origami and it was wonderful! We sat upstairs and had a drink waiting for the sushi bar to become available, after about 1/2 hour they let us know it would be another 1/2 hour so we got a table. I showed my friend how to use chopsticks and he did very well. Made him slow down eating which was good ;) He had the sushi sampler which had 7 different kinds and they gave him a great mix, i had the shrimp tempura and we shared each. We also split a CA roll, had to have that. It was fresh and authentic, very nice. But a little expensive, but then food is higher here anyway. Then i TOTALLY embarrassed myself! :o I was sitting on a bench and i scooted off to go to the bathroom and there was no more bench and I fell flat on the floor! My back against the wall and feet straight out. I could hear the whole restaurant go "OOOOOOOOHHHHHHHH", I was mortified and somehow got up and went to the bathroom and then i started laughing and couldn't stop. I came back out and said, OK, now that I've embarrassed myself, let's go! Good thing my mom wasn't there, we'd have both ended up on the floor laughing......Oh well, sometimes you have to just laugh at yourself.

What shall I have for breakfast?

Tonight we are starting another Alpha session, it's the celebration dinner where we welcome everyone and they come to see wha the program is about. We have dinner and then we have praise and worship music and then we have a talk. Then people decide if they want to continue and the following week we will break into individual groups. Not sure what my role will be, if i'll be a leader or helper or kitchen person, i don't care, whatever they need. But prayer would be appreciated for all those who may be questioning what they believe. Our goal is for all of them to know Jesus!

Have a great day!

Hello! It's been kind of a lazy day for us today. We went to church this morning and took part in communion - always a special moment. Then we went out for lunch - I had a salad. By this time it was time to get our guys from their weekend retreat. they had a great time getting to know their fellow students.

We also went to visit a friend in the hospital. I know I've asked for prayer for her from you. She has cancer and now the doctor has given her 2 weeks. She's a christian and is ready to go but that doesn't make it easier. She is in a great deal of pain. Please pray for release for her. Thanks.

My inlaws will be here tomorrow for a week long visit. They want to help us put in our extra bathroom. I'm looking forward to it.

Well, I should get going. Talk to you again soon.

Me and my niece are sharing a room, but heah the more the merier. Maybe we can get discount rates for a group! The beds are small so we 'll have to line up sideways hee hee hee  and hope no one rolls over or fall out:crossed:
I agree we should never forget 9/11 and there should be services held, sounds like you have a large church family. We have about 100 but are very very close. Which is nice. Glad all continues to go well with dn
Sunny-d Glad to hear your son is bettter, to bad the bill was so high. Glad also the tupperware party and tea went well I have to agree tupperware costs so much, that I usually use the ziplock containers.
Mrs. Hummer Thanks for the support and your right He will have me were I need to be, and I do like my job, so whatever happens I am o.k. with that. Sorry you didn't get to go camping love it, so relaxing. It is so convenient having it on site, so just pop in the car and go. You need to get that other tooth taken care of. Glad you have some time for you, that is always important. I am also interested in south beach diet. I am starting tom. so hope that it works well, adkins was just two strict with the meat at least this one allows veggies and some fruit and dairy. So hopefully that goes well.

09-15-2003, 09:28 AM
Good Morning CEers!!!!

Today I am starting a new way of eating. I'm not following any one diet but going to try to follow some simple rules. I may eventually go on the South Beach but don't have the groceries to do so now.
1. Drink 8+glasses of water/day
2. Limit carbs, especially starches
3. Limit fats
4. Eat lots of fresh veggies, esp green
5. Eat simple food, no casseroles, mixes, processed foods.
6. Grill my meats and veggies
7. Eat just a healthy snack after 6 pm (I'm diabetic and have to)
8. Eat 6 SMALL meals throughout the day.

Well, wish me luck. I'm going to give it my best shot. I'm hoping my dh will do it with me but I don't know. I know he will be getting healthier foods cause I will be preparing them but will he limit his servings? He needs to lose as much as I do. With GOD I can do ALL THINGS!!!

Gotta go. Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT day!!!!

09-15-2003, 10:07 AM
Sherry~you're plan sounds like a good one and i do wish you luck although you won't need it because you are right, you can do all things with Christ!

I am starting a new week today too and trying to get back on induction. I have some incentive because with the weather changing i'm changing out my clothes and i have a lot of pants i want to be able to fit into. That's my incentive for now.

I was woke up at 4 a.m. w/Simba barking/growling. After awhile i knew someone was out there. There was a truck that broke down in front of my house on Sat. i think, and they came to get it at that awful hour! Maybe it just sounded like they were extremely loud! But then I had a hard time going back to bed, almost got up at one point but knew i'd be a mess if i did around 4 pm.

Alpha was really wonderful last night! We had a great turnout, i heard we had over 40 people for dinner and the music was great and the fellowship. I sat next to our priest for the talk and he was fun. There's 2 eligible single guys that i'll have to check out, one i've seen before and he's now our drummer, very shy but maybe he'll be here now for the whole evening and I can get to know him. We also had 2 testimonies and the one guy was in my group last time and he had very nice and touching things to say. He said that he was sure I didn't know how I impacted his life but I had given all of them a coin w/scripture on it on our last night and he's hung onto that and it meant a lot to him. What's funny is i got them because i liked them and could afford it (they were cheap) but the Holy Spirit made it worth a lot to him.

Have a wonderful Monday!

09-15-2003, 10:12 AM
Hi everybody!

Sorry I never came back over the weekend, Joe & I just have so much we do with friends and such... although, yesterday we came home from church at around 12:30 and just chilled out working in the gardens and reading the paper. It was such a nice Fall-like day!

Saturday we had the best time at the flea market! I found a late 1940's WESTINGHOUSE butter dish made by Hall... they were part of the promo's to sell Westinghouse ref. in that period. I like to bring home one or two pieces, but don't really go looking for a particular thing. I saw this and knew I wanted it! We just got a new ref. in June and this piece just seem to fit. It holds a 1# block of butter, but I am using it to hold our lite-cream cheese instead ;) We had the best time and bumped into so many family and friends while there. That's the best part! All the socializing you do with friends, family and the people you don't know but chat with... fun! I love the idea of using things that others have used years ago --- well, especially kitchen items! Gravy boats, creamers, dishes, etc. I'll post a pic of it later.

GARY ~ Joe & I go to Antique shops and alike too!! Always have... when we go to Maine to visit my folks we always stop at the small shops on 'side raods' off the main roads on the way there. We rarely take the freeways or highways on our trips there. Some shops even remember us when we come by each year! And when we miss a year (like this year) they remember!! So cool! When I do get anything from these shops or fairs I always try to get pieces I would use. I also have quite a teacup and teapot collection and have used them at "Tea's" I have put on here for the ladies of the family just to get together during the winter months. We don't see one another as much during the winter, so it's nice getting together. A Christmas Tea is so much fun and colorful! Joe & I also enjoy looking through old photo's when we go to the shops --- don't usually purchase any, just look.

As far as Winter... ... as we get older we dread it all the more! Our winters have been so rough here. We live in the snow-belt!! All we can do is take it a day at a time. My concerns are more for Joe!! He does so much driving and see's such horrifying accidents more & more each year. So many people work from their cars. He is in a large van, so he can see 'into' some of the cars and can see their computers set up in the passenger seat like a small desk area. And they will be working while driving... so many unnecessary accidents! He saw one that was so bad he had nightmares for weeks afterwards... Anyway, we love it here with the exception of wintertime.

Gary... I take it your DD made it to Magic Mountain okay & got themselves a room for the night?! I have been to Magic Mountain in Ca... had a blast, but it was years ago! I went with the H.S. band. I am a born in Ca. girl --- Twentynine Palms, Ca. So I have been to Disney in Ca. and to Magic Mtn. ~ all when I was in my H.S. years.

ANGEL ~ My prayers for your manager's loss... I am so very sorry! :( God be with you all! And give YOU the strength you need to be there for them.

Thinking of you! (((Hugs)))

MICHELE ~ Joe & I had a best time at the flea market as I told Gary. And had the blast with our friends. Thanks so much for asking ;) We went to see Johnny Depp in "Pirates of the Caribbean" --- great movie (!) but then I am a Depp fan... and then went to 'Bennegan's' for a great steak dinner. After dinner went for a long walk together to try to walk off some of our big meal. We always have a great time together! We have known one another over 23 years. We meet each month on the second Sat. and go to a different rest. each time and rotate who gets to pick the place... so much fun!

How's that bee sting??? You feeling better? Those really hurt!

HI JAMIE! So good to see you posting again!

YES! YES! YES! I must agree with you!! I feel that the  devil does do everything in his power to keep you from your goals! Why not! He doesn't want you to be the best you can be for the Lord (your body, mind & soul is your temple of the Lord!)... so he throws out a leg once in awhile to trip us up with our weaknesses. But there's nothing stopping us from getting up from that fall and dusting ourselves off and letting that demon know he's not going to get the best of us! It is a big struggle, but it can be done. And it's daily, not just once in awhile --- daily! I hope you feel better real soon, Jamie. I have been there and have done that --- more times then I can count. And my hubby tells me, Satan doesn't not want you to be the best you can be because you shine brightly for the Lord. So he does everything in his power to try and put out that light... so we have to just keep re-lighting our candles every time he snuffs it out on us. That's why this thread is so important! And fellowship is so important! We must be there for one another... especially during our "down times" because what the devil wants more then anything is for us to isolate ourselves... then he gains strength & power over us!! You get more blue and don't want to do anything - and he is jumping for joy! So the next time you or anyone else feels this way we MUST come together and pick ourselves up again --- laughing in satan's face! My prayers Jamie!! My prayers! And come to us again, don't let him win! (((Hugs)))

And I thank-you for the great info on "Curves"... I am so looking forward to joining tomorrow morning @ 9:30! I already have my check made out! ;)

SPROUT ~ I am looking forward to our chats on the DR. PHIL thread... I got his book Saturday and so far have really liked the way it is written! The show Friday evening was more of a 'tease' show then anything else... most of the things he said he had said in last years weight shows. But I liked hearing them again and am so looking forward to his new shows beginning today. I have always been a 'tell it like it is' person and love to hear him speak. I so need to hear what he says to be reassured and encouraged past my fears! I have such a fear of being 'me' with others and am slowly working through it (doing so much better, but still have a ways to go). Most everytime I open myself up to someone, I think of the risk I am taking in being open to more hurt... but that comes with the territory and I have to move on an not be afraid. That is my issue! The Fear of being deeply hurt! I can handle most everyday stuff - it's the heavy stuff and the lack of acceptance for being me that I find scary. When I got jobs - I worked hard to be the best I could be for my bosses and got it from the co-workers that I was being a "kiss-up" (so they put it). But I was always taught to give it my all when I worked (Military family-ya know)... then it flipped around and I was being used. So now I haven't worked in over 9 years. Sorry... I just realized how I went off. Well, that's what I am working on. Just being accepted - not by others so much (because not everyone is gonna like me) but... I want to like 'Me' and see me the way my friends see me, the way you all see me. The way that GOD see's me!

AMANDA ~ Thanks so much for the best wishes for my kid (kitty cat) - GUIDO... he is doing allot better! Yes, they are costly, but you are right - I would spend whatever I needed to keep them well. We found out that he ate soap from the Brillo pad out of the kitchen sink drainer!!! That's what made him so ill. I said he eats everything! He saw it draining from the drainer I keep it in and was playing in the sink... he may have gotten it on his paws or actually licked it up --- don't know, but now it's put away. These guys are lots of work, but so much fun!! I think I will keep them ;)

So great to see you posting again Amanda... I miss seeing you and begin to worry. Stay in touch, okay. Don't let the devil drive you away from your support.

SAMI ~ You and your friends are in my continued prayers... I am sorry if I said something to hurt your feelings about the boys mom. Didn't mean it that way, just feel so badly for our children today and the way they suffer so thinking there's no place to go or no person to go to. Another attack of isolation by satan... what lies he whispers in our ears in our weakness!

I am thinking of you and your DD--- hope the sewing comes along okay on her dress. It will all work out okay, but it's hard to see that in the midst of it all. Soon... .... will be her Wedding day and a sigh of relief for you. Prayers that everything comes together for you all. Stay well!

WILMA ~ Tomorrow!!! I have my "Curves" appointment @ 9:30! Can't wait to go!

SUE ~ LUCK! LUCK! LUCK! On yur new endeavor! I am thinking of you! I think you will like the SBD...

And a very Good Morning to Sherry, Judy, Connie too!
God's Blessings!

09-15-2003, 10:30 AM
SHERRY ~ You posted while I was writing to everyone. I like what you have as a schedule --- looks really good and healthy. I wish you all the very best... May our Lord be with you! Each time satan whispers in your ear something you don't want to hear, just go to the bible and read. It really does help. Or just close your eyes and bind satan in prayer to Jesus - it works wonders. It's what I am doing now everytime I feel threatened or tempted to go off my program.

YES! With God we can do all things!
Have a wonderfully successful day today!
One moment at a time... :)

09-15-2003, 10:42 AM
MICHELE ~ Looks like we posted together too. My thoughts & prayers are with you on your new beginning.

I am so happy for you that Alpha turned out so well and that you enjoyed the fellowship... you just never know ;) what God has in store for you. ;)

And isn't that wonderful how the Lord works through us even when we do not realize it. You plant the seed, but it is so great when you are able to see the beginnings of growth. That has happened to me with the cards I have sent. I am so very happy for you. It is always nice to hear when we have done something to bring someone closer to our Lord!

Well done, Michele...
God's Blessings (((Hugs)))

Good morning everyone,

I had a very busy weekend. The dance company made $400 dollars selling drinks and bake goods. The money will be split between the parents that worked the booth. It was so hot some of the bake goods were melting. The performace company spent the whole weekend learning new material. They desided to go to Atlanta, Myrtle Beach and Orlando this year for the finals. Laura (our daughter)has bruses all over her body. I told her if her teachers ask about them to please..... tell them the truth and not kid around. They slame their knees down on the wooden foors when they do hip hop.

My husband and matt (our son) went out shooting coconuts and targets. There favorite target is shaving cream cans and frozen fruit. My son is working toward his eage badge in boy scouts. He is dieing to get his rife badge. One of Pauls friends from work is a marksman from the marines. He has been helping the

I am starting the South Beach diet today. I got the book yesterday. I needn't get to see Dr. Phil on friday. When is his show on in the east coast and what chanel? I plan on reading one of his keys a month, and working on each Behavior change.

1. mini goal 5lbs in two weeks made it :sunny:
2. mini goal 5lbs in two more weeks
3. total 10 lbs in the month

"don't just count your years, make your years count." - Ernest Meyers

Soo good to hear that all went well for the bake sale... sorry to hear that your daughter got all brused up, hope she gets well soon.

As far as DR PHIL... there's a thread titled "Dr Phil's Weight Loss Challenge #2" Come join in! We are going to talk about his book (which I am just beginning to read) a little bit at a time and watch his shows.

On the East Coast he's on NBC @ 5:00pm.

I have been on the South Beach Program since July 1st, 2003 and am losing wt. slowly, but that is okay with me! I don't mind because I am still losing and not gaining and even have a slice of whole grained bread sometimes as a half of sandwich with gourmet cukes and a piece of fruit. Or a 1/2 baked sweet potato with dinner. I am staying in phase II till I get the wt. off I need off... besides it really agrees with me & my gut. I even had pasta yesterday with my hubby, but it is whole grained pasta! And only 1 cup of it. I think you will like it after you get past that first two weeks! Phase I is rather difficult, but I just kept telling myself, "it's only two weeks"... and I drink my 8 glasses or so of water after lunch till about 7 or 8 at night cuz water in the morning made my tummy ache. But water will really help you get through the first two weeks and get you in the habit for the next phase... There's a allot of good recipes in the book and I really like the ricotta desserts! I must have 8 different flavorings for making it :p

I wish you the best Judy!

PS>> I also take one Citrucel tablet with dinner... ;)

HI I'm going to see if I can do the color.

[ color blue] ~ SunnyD ~ I'm getting braver in my computer skills!I collect victorian valentines. My favorite are the pop up ones with all the lace. I love royal copenhagen glass and wedgewood too. Its fun collecting. Have you ever gone to a fancy auction? when I went to college there was an auction house across the street. We would go and watch. I was so scared I'd buy something if I scratched my ear. Those things worn't cheap. We were poor artists just having fun. [/color]

~Sami~ What colors are in the wedding party? Your daughters wedding is Sept. 20 right? I can't wait to hear how beautiful it went. Are they going on a honeymoon?

~Angel~ I have been praying for your son- n law in Iraq and family. How is he doing? I get so mad when I hear celebrities bashing the president or the war. We need to support our men/weman in the war. They can do all the bashing they want after the war. Freedom is not free ,our men/weman put there lives on the line for us. We need to respect them, pray for them, and supply whatever they need.

God bless all of you

" old age isn't so bad when you consider the alternative"

09-15-2003, 01:29 PM
Hi Judy--- you just were off on the first part of the color code

[COLOR=red] good effort! :cp: Keep trying... gotta make sure it's all there or it won't work with "no spaces" in between...

Example: [COLOR=red]Hi! --- see no space between the bracket and the word Hi and it's the same way at the end of your sentence too.

09-15-2003, 01:41 PM
Or... when you click on "Post Reply" (located at the very top or the very bottom right of the thread) you will see COLOR next to SIZE & FONT. When you click on it you will get the whole list of colors... click on a color then a box will appear at the top left. Write in a name or the beginning of a sentence and then click okay. It will then appear in your reply box. Then just go inside the color boxes and finish your letter.

I Hope I have helped... it can be confusing.
Good for you in trying!! :cp: :cp: Keep playing!

09-15-2003, 01:46 PM
Oh yes! I have gone to those and it is scary! I too felt the same way... didn't want to move for fear I may have bought something I didn't want or couldn't afford.

Hello Encouragers

Well it sounds like a lot of us are kick starting our diets today - me too! I had a bad few days but I've given myself a good talking to and am going to be more disciplined as of today! I've had a good day today and went on my exercise bike for 35 minutes (for the first time in 4 days). I feel like my weight loss is a bit slow so far - I've lost 8lb in 6 weeks, where really I could have lost 12 -14lb in that time. I've had two weeks of staying the same, so I'm giving myself the kickstart I need! I didn't stay on programme over the weekend as we had friends to dinner, but it's five more days till weigh day so I'll see what I can do - I'd be happy to lose just a pound this week, but we'll see!:crossed:

:grouphug: Thanks to everyone for your support and prayers - I will continue to pray for you all too.

Love Amanda xx

Hello Sue...

In answer to your PM (thanx ;) )... I don't eat allot of things with artifical sweetners --- I use foods with Splenda or make things with Spenda. I just think it is safer then the other sweetners. And I watch processed foods! I recommend you watch how many Jello's you eat also with the artificial sweetners or anything with the artificial sweetners --- even though it is recommened in the book. Do you have the book? Or have you gone to the web-site? Prevention.com (under Wt. Loss tab)? I got the book through Amazon.com and had it here at my home in three days. I am glad I got it---it has great recipes in it.

In Phase I: I ate for
*BREAKFAST: 2 egg white omlet with steamed veggies (like asparagus or red peppers) or sliced tomatoes

2 egg whilte omlet with canadian bacon & sliced tomatoes. There are all kinds of ways you can make a fun breakfast.
one of my favs Fake pancakes made with: 1 egg & 2 egg whites, 2 TBSP of Lite Ricotta Cheese, 1 packet of splenda, 1/2 tsp vanilla (**I use maple flavoring!) & a dash of nutmeg & or cinn. All mixed into the eggs till smooth with a fork. Cook in a small skillet just like a pancake... yummy! No syrup and so tasty & a Phase I breakfast.

*SNACK: Sliced cukes or Celery slices with lite cream cheese

*LUNCH: Sliced turkey or chunked chicken or grilled chicken on top a bowl of romaine leaves with sliced red peppers & a sliced gourmet cuke & red onion with lite recommed serving of dressing (love the Ken's lite dressings! and use less)
*SNACK: 15 whole almonds (no salt) or I would make deviled eggs and have two filled eggs for a snack

*DINNER: I would have grilled or baked chicken or fish or lean steak with a huge serving of veggies & a small salad. Just to give you an idea. But did find allot of different recipes in the book to choose from and liked or the site below.

*DESSERT: The Ricotta Dessert - Yum! 1/2 cup part-skim ricotta cheese 1/4 tsp almond extract (or any extract flavor you would enjoy---vanilla, lemon, orange, etc.) 1 packet of Splenda
You can put it all in a food processor to make creamy, but I just buy a very creamy ricotta and stir everything in and ref.

Sue, I found the first phase very difficult (so limited) but now that I am in phase II I feel so much better. I try to keep my carb count anywhere from 60 to no higher then 75 in a day (mostly from veggie carbs!). But do take Sunday to enjoy a treat with my hubby (a no counting day)... But because I don't watch "real close" - it is slower in coming off then most. But I am okay with that as long as it comes off.

I do hope I have helped... here is a site with Phase I recipes for you (it takes a little bit to come up, okay.) http://forums.prevention.com/thread.jsp?forum=40&thread=10756&start=15&msRange=15

It seems so hard, but just try to keep it simple as possible in your mind and don't let it all overwhelm you, okay. If it gets to be too hard just go to Phase II (there you add fruits) and it will still come off, just slower, but you will feel better. I just found that the fruit for a snack really helped me stay in control over my sweet-tooth! I have such a sweet-tooth!

I wish you (and the others trying it) well!!!

09-15-2003, 07:46 PM
Hi JUDY ~ I hope I didn't mess you up on the place or time of Dr. Phil's show!?! I was on the thread for Dr.Phil and Gemini from Mass. watched the show @ 3pm on CBS. I really hope I didn't make you miss the program by giving the wrong time & channel for you :?:

I am so sorry if I did... :(

09-15-2003, 08:28 PM
Hello all!,

I watched Dr.Phil today and I think I like this program. I'm going to go get his book and continue watching. I like the idea of it not being a program, it's a life style change. And I do think i'm missing a key point in my psyche that is keeping me like this. I'm going to do whatever it takes although i know there are some things I don't really want to deal with, and those are probably the ones that are hurting me.

Sue~ Alpha is a Christian program that helps people understand what Christianity is about, why we believe. It's for all people, from athiests to people who just want to deepen their relationship with our Lord. Check out alphana.org to see if it is at a church near your area. If so, i highly recommend it. It is about an 11 week course and we meet weekly, starting with fellowship at dinner, then we have P&W music and then we have a talk and then small group time. It has really been amazing to see how it affected my life and others. This is my 8th time, i'm an alphaholic! I now am a leader or helper.

Feeling very tired tonight... :(

09-15-2003, 08:43 PM
MICHELE ~ There is a thread titled Dr. Phil's Weight Loss Challenge #2 under the Support forum if you would like to join in... we are turning it into a book club for Dr. Phil's book. I just got the book this past Saturday evening and haven't gotten too far. Not many have yet, so you are so welcome to join us over there --- would love to have your input. I got my book at Wal-Mart.

Have a good nights rest... you sounded so tired.

09-15-2003, 09:10 PM
Thanks Sunny- I only had about 18 carbs today so that should be o.k., I just will have to buy the book, will look for it at barnes and noble, but have to work a double tom. so it isn't gonna happen tom.
Mitchy- Thanks sounds awesome, will have to go to that site and check it out. hope your soon feeling better. Bye.

09-15-2003, 09:59 PM
Oh, SUE ~ Just a reminder... I am in phase II, so I will be higher in carbs compared to phase I - where you are at right now. You are very welcome.

Have a good night :cloud9: and
a good day tomorrow :goodvibes ... don't work too hard ;)

09-16-2003, 07:37 AM
Hi friends

Thank you SunnyD for all the help. I am computer challenged. I did not get to see Dr. Phil yesterday. We had so much to get done. Also thanks for the receipes for the South Beach diet. I did't eat much yesterday ,because I was lost about what I had that I could eat in my fridg. I ended up with a headache before bed from not eating right. i'll try better today.

~Amanda ~ Congradutions on your weight loss:cp: :cp:

I need to wake my son up. I'm taking Japanese flower arranging today. I'lltell you all about it later.

Morning! Here's the picture of my new Butter (Cream Cheese) Dish that I was telling you all about from the flea mrket... if any of you know for sure the period of time it is from (I thought the late 1940's) - would you let me know?
In the meantime... I am going to google research it to see if I can find out any more info.

09-16-2003, 08:49 AM
Here's a pic of the bottom...

This is the "Tea Room" I went to last week for Lia's birthday... Just wanted you all to see how beautiful it is. These people are from Joe's (my hubby's) side of the family :)

09-16-2003, 09:58 AM
Hi everyone...
Thanks so much for all the prayers. It's really been a rough few days for manager & family. They had to go so suddenly when Connie's dad got worse (2hr drive), they didn't take even a change of clothes. Stayed a week...& had to buy & borrow what they could. I would have taken something to them, but didn't have the key to their house. Have keys to everything else...but not that. (Wouldn't you know, that's the one I'd need.) That was just one of the hardships.
They had a close friend to pass away Sunday.(the day of the funeral) He's from Texas...Bro Jones, Connie's husband, had to leave on a 10 hour drive after the funeral, to preach his friends' funeral. I felt so sorry for him.
Connie finally came home last night...totally exhausted! We couldn't find anyone to come in & work the cameras, so she had to stay there & do it. I wish I could have....but not physically able. I DID stay quite late, though, & did what I could.... They live next to the station...am glad of that. Just keep praying for them.

The Lord has really helped me to "be there" for them. I'm going to work all this week, to help her...so she can take it easier, at least through the days. I'm feeling stronger these last few days...it's helped a lot. You know, I've noticed all these yrs of health problems...when there's something going on, where I really have little choice, especially, I make it ok. The Lord is so good.

I always go back & read EVERY post & pray for ALL of you. I wish I could post individually, like most of you do. Maybe in the near future. For now, I'm fortunate to have the time for this much. God Bless ALL of you.

One more thing...noticed a question about my son-in-law(thanks). My daughter has received a few short emails from him, & she forwards them to me to read. He's very tired, as all the others...but still ok. He's in Falusia(spelling). The place they keep talking about on the news that's so bad........keep praying! http://home.att.net/~scorh2/Card35.jpg

Good Morning!

MICHELE ~ that is so cool that you collect restaurant dishes. I sure would love to see your collection. I just love kitchen collections & really like Hall. Next to the yellow I love the greens too!!! I hope to one day have a late 1940's to mid 1950's kitchen. So cool! Thanks for the info!

Just a quick note before I begin my housework...

I went to my first appointment this morning at 'Curves' and already love the place! Great music & great people... Did you know that Curves is a Christian based company?! Cool Beans! I begin my workouts tomorrow morning!! I feel like a child... so excited about life. It has been so long since I have felt like this - what a wonderful feeling! I need this before we head into our winter months when we have very little sunshine and way too much snow!

I will catch up with you all later.

GARY ~ glad your back, I was wondering where you were too!?!

PS>>> There's a BOOK CLUB that will begin on Monday for those interested. The first book will be Dr. Phil's... how exciting. Suzanne began it for us! Can't wait! So it's not too late for anyone here to join in the fun if they want to.

09-16-2003, 02:15 PM
This BOOK CLUB begins on Monday-September 22...
Thanks to Suzanne and Angel!
Come join in! :)

Here is the link to the BOOK CLUB if you are interested in joining in :)

09-16-2003, 06:24 PM
ok, silly question that I have -- I am in on the book club here and saw the link which I went to -- but how do I get to it other than coming back here all the time.?

09-16-2003, 07:31 PM
Hi Sprout... not a silly question at all.

Scroll to the bottom of this page and you will see Subscribe to this thread - click on that & after it states you have done it -go all the way up to the top of the page where it says user cp click on it. It will take you to where you have all your Personal messages and your Subcribed Threads. Do that for "each Thread" you want to go back to again. Okay.

Give it a try and let me know how you do.

09-16-2003, 07:42 PM
Sunny~What a beautiful butter dish! I want one in green or pink! That is really awesome that you found that. Yes, I collect Hall and red transfer ware, 50's pyrex, pink depression glass and salt cellars! I also look for unusual tea platters and plates. Someday I'd like to have a tea cottage, like the one you had a picture of. Wouldn't that be fun! I'd like to have mix and match tea cups and saucers, plates and teapots. Oh, i have so many ideas, someday i'm gonna get the courage to figure out how to make it more than a dream!

Bought Dr.Phil's book, have to go to read the introduction and Chapter 1!

Hey There Girl...

We'll just have to get together some day and share our collections... what you think? Wouldn't that be nice---well you just never know, it could happen. If I were to find a Hall butter dish in your colors I would not hesitate to get it for you :)

09-16-2003, 10:23 PM

I just visited your web-site... you are a doll! It is so great to put a face on you ;) :cp:

Boy-O-Boy... a quiet night. I am talking to myself
tonight... but then again, that's nothing new

Joe is gone to a meeting and I thought - perfect...
I'll chat :( Oh well...

Tomorrow I begin my "Curves" workouts @ 9:00am,
I'm so looking forward to going :)

Just kidding Michele and Sunny-- good to see you gals adding a little class to the site. I went to a wedding tea party once-- with finger sandwiches and everything-- it was so cool---NOT! for me anyway-- I had a great time though-- my wife's cousin was having trouble getting her newborn to quit crying-- Angie told her to give her to me, there isn't a baby around that I can't get to stop crying (sometimes it's a little tougher than others). She had been trying for hours- within 5 minutes I had her put to sleep:) It is easy if you know how to rub their backs. When ever we go to parties where kids are invited they usually all end up with me-- the joke is: Hey Angie "blank" teacher is having a party and kids are invited, can you bring Gary to babysit?-- To be honest I like kids better than most adults!!;)

Angie is at her open house for school-- I made a real healthy dish:nono: for my son, nephew and myself-- chili and pigs in a blanket hot dogs wrapped in tortillas with cheese and onion- baked. I can only get away with this when she isn't eating here!

Oh way to go Gary-- such encouragement and advice just when all the gals are re-grouping and kicking butt on their diets!! Sorry:ziplip:

I have a bunch of paper work tonight-- still trying to catch up with you gals.

Angie is almost done with her journal-- she is getting ready to make a few copies-- she wants to send one to all of you when she is finished- I will let you know-- they are pretty cool-- have spaces for exercise, food, etc. If you want one just let me know okie-dokie-- she isn't charging for them for my friends!!

Gotta go- Nephew needs computer for homework-

BYE- In Christ, Gary

I followed your directions and it worked -- thanks.

By the way about collecting things -- I collect 'pigs' -- that is one of the reasons I chose the avatar that I have. Most of my friends always bring me pigs when they travel. Have quite a collection.

Watched Dr. Phil -- today -- and am proceeding with the good. Have reread Chapter 1 a few times and am starting to work on Key #1

Hoping to have a loss tomorrow

Oh Sunny~ I saw your collection and i just gasped! I think I should open a tea house with you! At the very least you are right, we should meet and have tea! You just never know. I have an Aunt in Fairborn, are you near there?

Gary~We have another thing in common. I too am an expert in putting babies to sleep. But for me, i think it's my voice, and i have a lot of cushion in the front ;)! Hope you enjoyed your hotdogs, yum! And yes, I'd love one of Angie's journals, that is so cool! What a doll she is! And Gary~ real men love tea! ;)

Sprout~my mother collects pigs too, she says they are good luck. Also we like frogs, FROG stands for Fully Relying on God! Makes you think.

I watched Dr.Phil tonight and cried during the whole thing. I think something in each of the people who were picked touched me. I got the book today and have read through Chapter 1. I am debating if i should read ahead or keep with the book club. I can still concentrate on the chapter we're in, but i'm too anxious, think i'll have to read ahead. I'm so ready to let the real me out!

Hi gang

Took ikibana yesterday in Augusta GA. It was alot of fun. Evidently they have chapters all over the USA. The Japanese broadcasting company baught a house in Augusta just for the Masters, which is the first week of April. this family from Japan reside there the whole year to maintain the huge house. We had alot of fun. Maybe, I can practice the language with the host. I can speak some Japanese. I love there language.

I am having sugar withdraw from the South Beach Diet. I am having dull headaches. Also my mood isn't the greatist. I need my fix. Does that sound like I'm a junky.!!!! Help I'm a food junky!!!! I'd kill for a sweet..

~SunnyD~ I love your tea set collection. We had a shop in town called Teabells that searved tea and finger foods. It was for afternoon parties etc. They had dress up clothes for little girls and fancy hats. Ladies clubs would have there meetings there. We also have a coffee house for Christians that just opened up. They cater to the youth. There are christian bands, they have board games, and no alcohalic drinks. The kids love it. It is a safe place for them to meet. Kids 15 and up can go. What an idea!

I will be back later

Hello to everybody....

Beautiful tea set collection!

Hope all..................

http://grammahugs.com/cookies/fall1.gifMorning GARY ~ So good to have you back... made me laugh  so hard this morning, Joe had to come in to see for himself!

So, looks as if we three have much in common! You, Michele & myself... if you recall I mentioned I took care of my SIL children allot! (her 5 boys) When she couldn't get them down for the night - I could. I too would rather be with children & animals then some adults... the innocence and unconditional LOVE I think. When I worked for Jazzercise - I would go into the nursery to check on the children and make sure all was well with the adults caring for them and couldn't get out. I would have them climbing all over me and playing with my hair or wanting back rubs. Even today... my nieces and nephews back themselves up (*beep *beep *beep*) to me for back rubs  I love it!! I also did volunteer work for about 7 years watching "Down Syndrome" children while the mom's got together to chat about their growth and development and schools, etc. My nephew is Down's... now 27yrs old today, holding a job and doing very well, I might add :) Still living with his folks.

And I get a calls from family with pets that cannot give the animals their meds or when they become ill to come check them... the animals just take to me as if I have a silent communication with them. A gift I think ;) I always wanted to be a vet and have allot of knowledge, but don't want to go through 8yrs + of schooling. No thanx - not now...

So... How's work going??? Working your tail off?! :o And is school going well for Ron (the nephew)? Did you all have that meeting with the Mom & family? What all happened, if you don't mind me asking? Is everything cool?

Hey MICHELE ~ I knew there was something bout you I really liked ;)

Where is Fairborn? You talking about OHIO? Because there is a Fairport, OH and a Fairlawn, OH both about 45 minutes or so from us. You never know---one day maybe "we'll all meet!" I know we will in heaven ;) for sure...

That is quite a goal to have a 'Tea Room', but not unattainable at all! If you want it - it will happen one day... I believe that! First we'll get this wt. under control and then the confidence will just gush from us to pursue our dreams. Sound good?!? Does for me :) So glad you enjoyed my collections --- me too.

About Dr. Phil's Show ~ Me too... felt that was so great that they choose all different types of people, all shapes & sizes... so we could relate no matter where we are right now. I cried too :( Yea, looks like it's gonna be a reality-type show. Hummmm, will be interesting, huh.

Sorry Gary! But that's the price you pay for hanging around us gals - teeheehee  Soon we'll have you all dress up like the gentlemen of the day joining us - NOT!!

Hi JUDY! So cool that you are taking those ikibana lessons... I never would have known about it if it weren't for you - so neat!

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed my pics ;) The idea of tea for Christians - what a Super Idea. Got me a thinkin' :chin:

YES! You will get headaches! And you will feel very tired too and maybe  crabby. It will go away! It is your body trying to 'right' itself. You should be taking in no more then about 20 grams of carbs during the first two weeks and it will feel like forever, but just keep telling yourself it's temporary! Soon you will be able to introduce fruit back into your diet and will fell so much better. Hang in there Judy!! I'm with you. I have lowered my carb intake for this coming week to 20grams and then next week will go back to around 50 (no higher if I can). It will help me with my Curves workouts and wt. loss. Hang in there! And please try to get in your glasses of water! I begin to drink allot of my water for the day after lunch, because it is hard for me to in the mornings (get tummy aches). But after lunch... it seems to be easier for me to get it all in. I also try not to eat anything else after 7pm I have breakfast by 7am and am done eating by 7pm --- AGAIN,a great #!!! The Lord's number. Me too - just love sweets... but once it is out of your system, you will not crave them in the same way. You'll see. I'm with you!!

Hi there SPROUT ~ I am so glad I could be of some help to ya :)

Marilyn - did I read earlier that you have a Down's child? Did you see that I have cared for them and have a nephew who is 27yrs old today with Down's... what beautiful children! Aaron is always the first to greet me when we visit & the one who phones me when he misses me. He use to call me his "girlfriend" when he was younger. But alas... I have been replaced by his girlfriend, Amy, of 4 years now. So adorable!

A very GOOD DAY to everyone!!!
I really must run... have to get ready for my FIRST Curves workout this morning @ 9:00! :cb:

Take Care!
Till Later this afternoon... Ta!

Great to hear form you!!!!

Just enough time to read before I head to work-- great job on the diets gals-- LET THE CURVES BEGIN!! (and continue for those already doing it!)

Thanks GARY! You Cutie-Patutie, you. I'm IN on Angie's journal!! Sounds Great... I don't mind paying ;) I am sure she has worked very hard putting it together.

YO, WILMA ~I went this morning at 9:00 for my FIRST WORKOUT...
LOVED IT! Loved the people and the music! My fav ~ 1950's!! So sool  Can't wait till Friday. Can't go tomorrow, already made plans, but will be there bright and early Friday morning!

We have 8 machines, but I heard people talking... there are more machines. How many more? Does anyone know how many machines are out there all together? From what the talk was I am guessing at 12.

I cannot believe I was in and out of there in 35 minutes! Because I don't work, I came home to do my stretching-out.
Really Fun exercise program!

THANKS WILMA for the encouragement!!!
I'm so glad I called! :smug:

09-17-2003, 12:53 PM
Sunny~I use to work at a circuit gym and please reconsider doing your stretching at home. The purpose of it is to cool down and to let your muscles adjust. If you could even take 5 minutes and do some stretching after it would greatly benefit you. Just my 2 cents. I'm glad you enjoy it! It is a great way for women to work out.

09-17-2003, 01:17 PM
I will keep that in mind for this coming Friday when I go again.
It's just there were so many people there this morning!
I wanted to get home and stretch to a tape I have.
Felt I would get a better stretch in a more relaxed atmosphere. I was all hyped up this morning ;)

You wouldn't believe the people there...
I haven't seen this much action here in years!

Just sharing... I just love the Fall!

09-17-2003, 03:23 PM

One more thing, I am less then 1/2 mile from the workout ctr. Less then 5 minutes away, so it's not like I am going too long in between when going home. But I understand what you are telling me and I thank you for your input.

That's what we are here for :)

Congratulations Sunny D on your first workout at Curves!!:strong: :strong: :strong: :strong:

I am glad you enjoyed it - I love the feeling I get when I go to the gym, it's something to do with those endorphins flowing!

I am well back on plan after my kick start on Monday. I turned to God again for some extra support as I figured he is the one who has helped me from the start. I am so grateful to God for the grace he shows me daily - God is sooooo good!

Have a great evening everyone!

Feeling much better today -- and that is something to jump for joy about as it has been a long summer between 7 weeks of radiation for the return of my cancer and then the wildfires threatening to destroy our home.

SunnyD -- yes I did mention I have a Down Syndrome child. And I see where you did some work with them -- great. They sure are special. My daughter -- Priscilla (she prefers to be called either Prissy or Sprout) is 14 1/2 now and we adopted her when she was 2. She is the apple of my eye. She has such a heart for the Lord -- when I had my first surgery 3 years ago September -- the day after the surgery hubby brought her up to see me -- made my sister cry -- here I was all wired up and she came right into the room and took my hand through the railing and said "Momma, I love you Jesus loves you and you are all better now because Jesus said so.' Then she just stood there and held my hand and patted it softly saying 'I love you I love you I love you'

Well I am doing the Dr. Phil's Challenge. I have the book, have watched the show and am also doing the book club here.

Where am I at with the challenge -- I have read the first couple of chapters -- have done the work he has outlined re setting goals, have taken the readiness test, and have taken the first audit. Now onto the next project he wants -- to writting down what I say to myself about these topics: *my appearance *my body shape *my abililty to manage my weight *my exercise level *my self-control and * my general health. Then on the next page he has some questons to answer about what I have written down.

Tonight in my quiet time I am going to work on the above -- gosh is my personal journal that I keep here at home every going to get fat!!

Got weighed today -- up 1 pound. But not worried, as I know it will take care of itself. Need to update my stats in my signature

I am going to lie again! I don't have time 'cause Angie needs the computer for a test she is making for her class--- if those darn students of hers would up the ante I could slow her test making down:lol:

Long story "short" the nephew isn't doing his homework like he's been telling me-- his grades are ok (after 2 weeks) and his tests are fine but FAILS to turn in homework-- MANY EXCUSES! I told him at the beginning of the year that I would give him 2 weeks without harping on him-- to see if he could take care of business on his own-- guess what-- he can't--- aaahhh so much like his mom (who by the way called today to see if she could borrow some money:lol:   )

The Big meeting is tomorrow night-- social workers called today and want to present before the court on the 24th that I am going to be full time guardian or adopt-- they said his mom is definitely out-- curious about the meeting tomorrow--- gotta go Angie is waiting-- oh yea she also said whenever she can get her journals printed up you will get your copy free-- she won't accept anything-- she has it all put together but she is trying to implement scripture-- she is usually very thourough (?) how in the heck do you spell that? so it may take awhile-- I thought she was done-- it was printed and bound-- guess I was wrong-- thank goodness she didn't waste a lot of time deciding on me!! Or maybe she just learned from her mistakes:lol:

Hello Just 2 more days until the wedding!!!!!! I still have a lot to do! I started to post yesterday but by the time I got caught up reading I was out of time! I went tues to KY to see my aunt who is going though chemo she looks good but her cancer is a lg tumor that goes all the through her lung. I wanted to see her because this may be that only time I am able to take off for the rest of the year. Please pray for my Aunt she is so speical to me and she is at peace with what ever the Lord has for her. I also would like prayer for something that happen yesterday! I live about 20 minutes from church/school I have always worked nights so I could take my kids to school and pick them up. My 9 yr old has a learning problem and she also would not do her homework and it was to much for my DH to deal with by himself and getting all the other night things done with the other kids. Last year my youngest started Kindergarten 3 days a week full day so I ask a good friend of mine Rosie to watch Molli (she has a son in Molli's class) Rosie and I are good friends and she only watched her two days a week. She also took the kids to school 3 days a week and my other friend Debbie took them them the other two days. I offered them gas money and both refused because it wasn't out of thier way to take the kids (some of my older kids have babysat many times for both of them) Last year when my DD lost her Job Debbie called me up and was real hateful and said is Kelli going to be taking the kids after all she is not working! It hurt my feeling the way she talked to me and Kelli took the kids and picked them up until school was out (she got her job right when school ended) We really struggled with what to do about school this year and I ask Rosie if she was willing to help me by taking the kids in the morning (my son picks up) She said yes what ever I needed just let her know. Well to make a longer story short Debbie and Rosie have become best buddies and Rosie yesterday just up and told me she couldn't drive my kids anymore because it was to much on her. She was busy in the mornings (she does the Mothers day program on tuesdays and helps at preschool two afternoons a week) Now she drives right by my house everyday to go to take her kids to school. And Debbie was right by her when she said it and she said I can't drive for you either I am busy! These two are the only two who live close to me that it wouldn't be out of thier way so I might have to pull my kids out of school and put them in public. I am so crushed because we were all good friends and I could understand if she was feeling overwhelmed but she should have talked to me and gave me time to find someone else. And to matters worse she now takes another friend of ours kids home and goes way out her way to do it! I am really hurt! Debbie I am not surprised she is two faced I noticed that before with others but Rosie has been my good friend for a long time. We have been on many projects together and I thought of her as one of my bestfriends. I have cried and cried all afternoon I am really heartbroken to be treated so badly by my CHRISTIAN friend! Am I wrong to feel so hurt? This is not the stress I need 3 days before the wedding. My friend at the office is going to ask around and see if someone can help me out (my DD apt is right by church and I can drop them off there in the morning so maybe someone would be willing to stop in and pick them up from there) I am sorry I carried on and on. I have each of you in my prayers. I may not get to post until after the wedding but I will let you know how it goes! (Ps I let the dress out and it fits great!)

09-18-2003, 06:51 AM
http://home.att.net/~scorh2/Animation2e.gif Sami....I'm so sorry..no one can hurt you as bad as another christian friend. I guess it's because you feel they love you with a christian love & wouldn't want to hurt. There's a lot of things we don't understand, but remember, the Lord knows all about it. Pray for them.....they need it. Show them as much love as you possibly can, when you're around them. THEY are really the ones with the problem. Of course, you have a problem... but a different kind. I'll help you pray that something will be worked out. Remember...if you need to talk, we're here. http://members.shaw.ca/Sunburn_69/hereforucandle.gif

Hello to everyone...hope all is well. Going to take my first day off in 2 weeks. Things are better at the station. Thanks for your prayers.

09-18-2003, 08:42 AM
Sami~big hug for you sweetie! So sorry your friends are being so icky. You know, sometimes we do grow out of our friends and it is a shame, and i too think it's their problem, not really yours, except for the logistics. You will get through this, it just means there's something else out their. I agree it's best to treat them as a Christian, love them anyway and let them deal with their own issues.

I got up and took a 15-20 minute walk this a.m. in the pitch dark! It was a little windy and their was a few raindrops but it was nice and refreshing. I prayed the whole way and realized part of why i don't care to exercise, something about it pu[ts me on the verge of an anxiety attack. But i prayed through it and my goal is to do it this week through Sunday on the advice of my Dr. and because i want to make exercise part of my life. While talking to the Dr. yesterday a lightbulb went off and I found something i'm interested in and will pursue. Martial arts. I said maybe when I get this weight off, she encouraged me to do it now, said, why wait? She's right. Why limit myself?

I'm having a great start of the day! I hope you all have a wonderful day, especially you Sami! :grouphug: And remember, it's ok to feel emotion, hun. You cry if you want to.

09-18-2003, 08:49 AM
Hi SAMI ~ I am so very sorry to hear all that just recently went on in your life. How very :( sad, for sure.

I was thinking... are you close enough to Rosie to ask her to meet with you in a neutral zone --- like church? I only know what I have done when a similar situation happened to me. I asked my friend to meet me at church and inside the church where it is quiet and a neutral zone (not to mention - it helps you to be in God's house, so you remember to speak kindly to one another). But I came out and asked my friend Why? And... What happened? We had silent moments, but spoke carefully to one another and DID get things ironed out. I bet we were there for hours. But when we left there, we understood each other and have been closer then ever since! Sometimes the unspoken questions can turn into a emotional volcanic type eruption of emotions that get distorted with time. So the sooner you can take care of this I think the better. I know you have the wedding coming up... so you'll know when you have the time and when the moment should be - if you stay close in prayer about it.
My heart goes out to :( you, Sami. And so are my Prayers!

I am holding you close in thought...
My best to you for your daughter's wedding day. Don't let anything spoil the day - you have worked so very hard.
(((Huge Hugs)))

09-18-2003, 09:08 AM
Hi ANGEL ~ Always good to see you! I visited a couple of your post elsewhere and enjoyed your post on your grandchildren :) so adorable! Sounded like you were having a better day that day... you sound so good when you are feeling better - I pray you have more good health days ahead, Angel!

My continued prayers for your friends and all their trials... WoW, to have to preach for your friends funeral ~ very sad. So cool the way you have come through for all your friends at the station... God is Good! Giving you the strength you need to lend a hand.

Is this TV station you work at a local station? Or should anyone get it? I would like to see it, if I could.

Also did you finish correcting your website? Do you have a link to offer us, if so :?: I sure would like to pay a visit if I may.

You and your family & friends are in my continued prayers!

09-18-2003, 09:50 AM
I'm sorry that I haven't been posting much lately. I have company so it's hard to get a minute to get on here. It's been a busy place here and I haven't had time to read many posts but it sounds like you are all doing well.

Sami: I'm so sorry about your friend. This is especially hard when it's a Christian friend and an adult. Sounds like really immature behaviour. I am so glad your daughter's dress problem was solved. both her and you will look lovely on Saturday. Have a blast at the wedding and try not to stress out too much.

Gary: Parenting is fun isn't it? I'm praying for you and your nephew.

Michele: Way to go on the walking. I love to walk and don't do enough of it.

Sunny: I knew you'd love Curves. I am still enjoying it too. I had my weigh in yesterday. I'm up 1.5 lbs. which didn't surprise me but I had lost 1 inch off my hips and legs so that made up for it.
Our club has 10 machines and I think there are 1 or 2 more that they can get.

Well, I better get going to work. Have a great day!

09-18-2003, 09:52 AM
Morning MICHELE! And it sounds like it is a very good morning for you! Wonderful! Yeah... afraid we are losing our sunlight :( , but when I go for my walks I usually go in the early mornings (4:30/5am) too. I love the quiet and the peaceful feeling... and as I finish up the birds begin their morning song --- so neat to hear! I walk every once in awhile about 2 miles.

I am so glad for you!! Great start to your day.

I was a bit sore and very tired last night, but feel good this morning! Slept HARD and slept well --- felt rested!

Hope you continue to have a Great day today, Michele!
Continued Success!!!!

MICHELE ~ I was still wondering --- where is FAIRBORN??? In Ohio??
You mentioned it in one of the earlier posts ;)

Hi everyone,

Feeling kind of blue today. I have alot on my mind. My daughters ex boyfriend was in a car accident. His truck flipped over. I talked to his mom on the phone yesterday and his hand is messed up but not bad. There are no broken bones or internal injuries. Car is totaled. I am harboring alot of anger and I need to clear the air. My daughters best friend ( if you can call her that) Started calling her ex boyfriend when they were still dating. This went on for awhile. He started recipicating the calls. Laura would then get a call from this girl bragging about her phone calls with her boyfriend. I happened to drive this young lady to school. One morning in the car she started up with the bragging. I got angry and explained to her how I wouldn't treat my friend that way. That you don't get on the phone with your friends boyfriend and talk for hour and flert with him. Now the girls mom is mad at me. I have no idea what she told her mom. Also my daughters boyfriend got mad and broke up with her. Now everyone is mad at me for calling the kettle black. I told my daughter you don't go out with friends boyfriends, you don't date ex boyfriends brothers or for that matter fathers period! Its just wrong! The mothers of these kids I love dearly. I talked to two other friends about it and they think I need to talk to the parents. If I do my daughter will hate me and this girl will make her life a living **** because she is vindictive. What should I do butt out or set up a meeting with these ladies when this young man recovers?HELP what is the christan thing to do?

~sami~ I am in the same boat should we ignore and stew or confront. What would Jesus do? Jesus forgave us so we need to forgive them right! How do we make this right? My daughter has a forgiving heart why don't I? She hates confrontation. I do not want to make things worse. Should I keep out of it? I'll pray for your issues, please pray for mine.

Two more days till the wedding. It will go fine. Im glad you got the wedding dress to fit.:high:Lots of prayers and love go out to you.

http://www.wholesalecountrygiftware.com/images/000P1_THANKFRMABOVE.gifGood Morning CEers!!!!

It's so good to see the thread SO busy! I've come here several times to post and by the time I read all the posts, I didn't have enough time to post myself. :write: So, I guess you could say I have been LURKING.

I've had quite a time this week. That tooth I had pulled ended up a dry socket!! I went back to the DDS yesterday to have it packed with medication and have another one pulled that is under the wisdom tooth coming in (at age 42, who knew?) but the DDS wouldn't even consider pulling the other one with me having so much trouble with last weeks tooth. So, wait another 3 weeks.

I have been doing pretty good with my WOE (way of eating) I was so exhausted last night from working most of the day and then having to drive an hour away to go the DDS and going by Walmart and getting a few groceries that I didn't even eat supper last night. Just drank a glass of milk and ate a couple of bites of protein and hit the hay. :tired:

A friend of mine and I have a thing going. My goal for weight loss is now NOT 150lbs!!! But instead ONLY 5lbs!!!! Let me explain: My goal is 5 lbs, and when I reach that I set another 5 lbs. The reasoning behind this, Anyone can lose FIVE lbs!!!! So, I only focus on the five lbs and then re-evaluate when I reach that goal and start again. My friend's DIL did this and has lost over 120 lbs now and had never been able to lose it before because it seems too overwhelming for her. Then when she cut it down it was a breeze. We could all use a breeze, couldn't we? So, that's my NEW PLAN.

Thank goodness I'm off today. I'm very tired and swollen since I didn't get to take my lasix yesterday. That would have been a disaster!! I would have had to use every tree between here and the DDS office!!! Anyway, I also have started a program that teaches how to make web pages so I can learn all about that and learn how to make graphics, etc... I love that!!! Maybe in the future if I ever become totally disabled I will have something to fall back on. I would like to become an expert.

Well, I have to do a little housecleaning now. Darn it, housework NEVER goes away. One of the things I hate to do. But, mr. nobody doesn't do it around here. :)

Hope EVERYONE has a GREAT day!!!! Prayers for all!!! SAMI~ Hang in there girl!!!! Good luck with everything!!!!! Hope to hear from you again soon. We love you!!!!

Hi everybody....Friday is finally here! I'm ready for the weekend. Although, I think it's going to be rainy. Which reminds me.....hope all are safe from the hurricane. I'm praying for all.

I have a prayer request.........hope it's not selfish. I really don't feel like it is. When we had to get a lawyer to get insurance to pay on the housefire, (can you believe that?!) he said he was going to notify the Maytage Co. & see if they would make things right with us. A new Maytag stove started the fire. I had researched on the pc & found where this model had started several fires!
He finally got a call from them.....they want to know what it will cost to finish our house. Seems they are willing to settle....to not go to expenses of a lawsuit. We didn't like the idea of sueing (spelling), but felt we had no choice....not enough money to finish house.
I have a lot of paperwork to do over the next few days, preparing to present this to them, but very willing to do it.
We're not asking for a large, beautiful home. Just our simple house, we had before......& not to watch my husband work so hard at trying to rebuild it......mostly alone. If we got enough in the settlement....he could hire a carpenter to help him. Please, everyone that will....help us pray about this.

eisenj.....I'm SO sorry. Life can really get tangled up sometimes, can't it?! I'm afraid to give you advise on this one. Maybe someone wiser than myself will know best what to advise. I WILL pray that you get your answer, & all will work out.http://home.att.net/~scorh2/Animation2g.gif

Gary....wish you luck!

Mitchypoo...loved that thought for the day.

mrshummer....I'm really enjoying your graphics. I'm needing to find some more. Haven't found any good sites lately. Seem to be going to the same ones.

SunnyD...Thank you for all the beautiful angels! The TV station is local. We do reach quite a distance, though. Soon we're going to be back on internet, & I'll post the link, so you can check us out. We were on internet for quite a while...but had to use money to buy a larger, very expensive transmitter. Thanks for the interest.
Give me just a couple of more days to finish my website. With the death of manager's dad, etc, I had to put it on hold for awhile. You can go to it now, of course...but would like for you to go to it when it's finished. I have been able to "clean up" a lot of it, though. Guess I'll learn to leave well-enough alone!http://home.att.net/~scorh2/Animation2q.gif

Angel~wow, will i pray that that company comes through for you. What a blessing that would be for you and you DH.

I went for my walk this a.m. about 1/2 hour later because i start work later too and i'd rather have some daylight. I prayed the whole way and had a praise song stuck in my head but the anxious feeling wasn't there today! Praise God! Even w/Aunt Flo coming this a.m. and it being 43 degrees, i still went and feel a great sense of accomplishment. And I hope to have more energy today too.

Hope you all have a wonderful Friday! and I too am praying for anyone affected by the hurricane. We sure had a nice storm yesterday and they say it too was from that. We even had hail! for about 3 minutes, odd to see so early.

MICHELE ~ I Love your quotes too! Thanks!

Day Spring sent me this today... just tought everyone would enjoy reading it ;)

God Bless and have a wonderful day!
I will catch-up later with everyone, okay.

“...‘Suffer the little children to come unto Me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein.’ And He took them up in His arms, put His hands upon them, and blessed them.” MARK 10:13-16 KJV

When Jesus spoke to people about the Kingdom of God, He didn’t point them to the mind of a proud scholar, but to the heart of a little child. Jesus made it clear that the Kingdom of God belonged to the humble, not to the self-righteous; to the dependent, not to the self-sufficient; to the hungry, not to the self-satisfied. In the heart of a little child we find curiosity, spontaneity, simplicity, openness, and most of all, complete and uncomplicated trust. When Jesus was in the presence of little children, He didn’t stick out His arms and push them away, but He opened His arms and blessed them.

There is no better way to live than to know that your life is in Jesus’ hands and that His blessing is upon you. Every trusting heart can be certain of these things today:

You never need to think of yourself as forsaken,
because Jesus has called you His own.
You never need to think of yourself as alone,
because Jesus is with you always.
You never need to think of yourself as rejected,
because Jesus holds you in His arms.
You never need to think of yourself as defenseless,
because Jesus is your protector.

You never need to think of yourself as inadequate,
because Jesus is your provider.
You never need to think of yourself as useless,
because Jesus has a purpose and plan for your life.
You never need to think of yourself as hopeless,
because Jesus is your future.
You never need to think of yourself as defeated,
because Jesus is your victory.

You never need to think of yourself as weak,
because Jesus is your strength.
You never need to think of yourself as perplexed,
because Jesus is your peace.
You never need to think of yourself as needy,
because Jesus is your daily provider.
You never need to think of yourself as unappreciated,
because Jesus is your everlasting reward.

Have a Blessed Day!

Hi everyone,

Where I live, didn't get hit with the Hurricane. We do live in the evacuation route for the cost of Myrtle beach and savanah. The outer banks always get the blunt of the big storms like Nags Head and Kitty Hulk. We went to Duck one year when the kids where young for vacation. they have wild horses that roam the beaches and sand dunes. I had never seen wild horses before.

~Angel~ I will pray that you will be able to restore your home to the way it was before the fire. Did they ever recall your oven? Thank God none of your family members were killed. Fire is so scary:yikes:

Thank you for caring about my problem with my daughter. I want to solve this issue in a christan manner. If I am wrong I'll apologize. I need to find out the truth and set thing straight. I can't stop thinking about it. God is convicting me and I don't know how to handly this.

~Gary~I have alot of respect for you and your wife. My prayers and love go out to the two of you.

~Michele~ I do my praying when I walk the dog. We have a lake a block from me so I take her down there and sit on the bench to pray while she checks out the area. Its so nice to feel the cool breeze and hear the birds. I just praise God for the beautiful thing he has crated. He is so GREAT and He loves us so much! We are blessed to have Him in our life.

http://www.trishastreasures.org/TeacupFairies/wings8.gifHello JUDY ~ I am so sorry to hear about your DD ex... So glad he's okay and hopefully will feel well again soon. He is so very lucky - if his car was totaled it could have been so much worse.

I feel so badly for you Judy - that you had to be put into such a predicament with your DD, her girlfriend & her boyfriend... sometimes things are better left unsaid. But now that's neither here nor there. I will lift you up in prayer that the Holy Spirit may guide you as to where to go from here. Me... I am a person that never lets "stuff" get in the way of my friendships. I would talk it out with the friends, but Judy, that's a tough call --- because I don't really know you or your friends or circumstances well enough to give any advice in such a sensitive situation. There is always so much more involved then could ever be put into words, you know what I mean? Parents (as you would know) are so very protective of their children. My prayers are with you, that you will know what to do.
God Bless!

http://www.trishastreasures.org/TeacupFairies/teacupfairy2.gifMICHELE ~ Just love your "thoughts for the day". And my hubby is going to pick up a map, so we can check out Fairborn, OH. Oh... I forgot, I could look it up on here through google I bet. Whatsthematter wit me?!? Gonna give it a go later.

Good for you! :bravo: Walking in spite of the temps! Wait! Winter is well on it's way... Too soon for me. So enjoy this beautiful Fall-weather while you can ;)

http://www.trishastreasures.org/TeacupFairies/bf2.gifSHERRY ~ Oh my goodness! I though that you were all through with those darn teeth! Ouch!!!! Nothing (and I mean nothing!) worse then a dry socket! I had that happen once and the pain!!! My heart goes out to you, Sherry. Hope you feel better real soon!

So good to hear that in spite the fact that you are having the dental problems & pain you are still keeping up with your program... good for you :bravo: Not good that you didn't eat dinner :nono: you should never skip a meal. Even an egg would have been better then nothing... stresses your system when you skip ;) I must say I like the 5lb idea allot!!!!! I basically do the same thing, but with 10lb's at a time... I just may switch :^: Thanks!

How was your day off yesterday? Get allot accomplished? Learn allot??? You will know allot more then me when you learn how to make web-sites & make graphics... that I haven't learned yet. One day. I know I had allot of paperwork to catch up on and still have a bit to do today, but will get it done. I didn't finish cuz my SIL called and wanted to catch a movie... so off I went ;)

http://www.trishastreasures.org/TeacupFairies/hrt.gifHi ANGEL ~ Boy.. did we, here in NE, OH., get the rains from the hurricane! But it has calmed down allot now and they are predicting a sunny weekend - Yes!

Glad you like my angels... I love looking for you ;)

And I don't think it is selfish at all - to ask for prayers for yourselves! That's what we are all here for!!! I think you and your hubby deserve having Maytag pay for their mistake! You shouldn't feel bad at all---they goofed! These are times that the people that are 'sue-happy' make those who should do something feel badly or guilty. You shouldn't at all... the company knew that they had a flawed appliance and still sold it. They owe you both that much, Charlotte. Your whole lives have been turned upside down since the fire. You have MY PRAYERS! And MY BEST FOR YOU BOTH!

Thanks for the answer about your station :) I await the link to your web-site when you are finished.

GARY ~ I really do hope that all went well with your very important meeting last night pertaining to you nephew, Ron. You & Angie & your DB & his wife, have been in my thoughts and my prayers!!! I really do hope that all went well for the best interest of those kids!!!

Let us know as soon as you are able, okay.

http://www.trishastreasures.org/TeacupFairies/ChristmasTC.gifOh Goodness WILMA ~ How could I have forgotten to reply to you :o I'm sorry!

I went this morning and had another great workout at Curves! It was pouring rain, so when I first got there, it was quiet with only about 6 ladies... compared to Wednesday - that was quiet! I was able to meet three ladies that will be going every Mon - Wed - & Fri just like I will be, so we already look forward to our next workout on Monday! So darn cool! I have really missed being with other ladies like this and just haven't realized it till I was back in again. They even asked if I would like to join them at breakfast, but I couldn't this morning. Thanks again for all your encouragement! Oh... and I heard through the grapevine & chatting in class that there are 12 machines all together... but they only start you off in a new place with 8 and gradually increase it to 9, 10, up to 12 --- depending on the numbers coming to workout at the Curves.

I am sorry that your weight went up a little, but I do that too... where I may go up a pound or two then I'll drop three! Who will ever totally understand the body and why it does what it does :?: I don't dare get on that scale now! I feel rather swollen and puffy right now from working muscles I didn't even know I had anymore :o , I won't go anywhere near it. :D In a couple weeks I will take a look-see again :^: I am flying high right now and I know it will bring me down if I see a gain. Especially since I lost a bit more when I had my weight & measurements done on Wednesday (my first day at Curves).

Well, you have a great weekend, Wilma!
God Bless!

Oh... CHRISTIE ~ It was great to see you on another thread ;) Come back and pay us a visit too when you get a chance...

SPROUT ~ How's it going these days? Feeling okay?? And do they have those fires under control yet?

Yeah... I just was over at my DSIL's yesterday and when Aaron came home & he just runs when he see's me. They are such Precious Children - aren't they! Down's children... True innocence! They love with their "whole being"! We get Aaron Christian music for his birthday's and Christmas and he loves it! His folks aren't saved, but they don't mind and Aaron loves music.

Me too... joining Dr. Phil's Book Club. Have you gone to the introduction thread that Angel started? So cool... I have only gotten through half of what we are to read by Monday, so I have to get a move on. Just been so very busy these days. A nice kinda busy. ;) Se ya there :)

CONNIE ~ Where are you these days? I hope you are well :?: and just busy. I see you have a birthday coming up soon --- I won't be forgetting you! Stop in!!

SUE ~ Hope this note finds you doing well and that you had a good week! Thinking of ya :)

And where is our AMANDA PANDA these days???? I do hope that you are well and just keeping busy! Please know that we all care and would love it if you stay in touch and let us know how you, Nigel and Marley (hope I got your kitties name right :o ) are doing!

SAMI ~ Thinking of you!!!!!!!! Sure do hope that all goes smoothly for you and your DD's Wedding Day tomorrow!

My thoughts and prayers for anyone I have missed (Lord forbid I missed you)...

I am doing great- I lost 12 lbs since starting south beach. I know probably half is water but that is o.k. I have been busy all week we took our clients camping for 4 days then had to bring them back home last night because the state under went a disaster warning from central office, which we have been fortunate, all has been sunny and just windy. Sorry to hear of the people killed by Isabel I think the count is up to 19. I am leaving shortly to go home to my parents or camp, depending where they are, as our missions conference at church starts tom. and I am helping with the missions dinner, so anyway let me try to catch up. I didn't hear about the job, which probably means I didn't get it I heard through the grapevine that someone in title put in, so they would automatically get prefference, but I am o.k. with that,I am happy with my current job. Enough about me. Amanda Panda- Glad to hear your back on, good time, alot of us just restarted including me, and giving it to God, is the only way to succeed. Angel- I am praying for you there is alot on your plate, with all that is going on, but there is no reason they should not assist when their appliance was the cause.

09-19-2003, 07:02 PM
Gary- Angie's journal sounds great count me in, sorry to hear about the problems with the nephew, hopefully this meeting will solve alot of those issues, your in my prayers, it is a tough row to hoe, but He needs you more than He knows, Mitchy- martial arts, now your talking then when those bad boys get wise, you can take them down a few pegs, :o  hee hee, any way hope your doing better, sounds like the walking is going well. Judy Tea house sounds neat, sorry to hear about the problems with your dd and daughter's bf I will pray for ya, but sometimes it is better if your stewing to talk it over, Sprout- 7 weeks of radiation way that was rough and the wildfires that are near your home no wonder your looking forward to fall, don't blame ya! at all. Hope things soon are going well for you and hubby. Stick in there! Sami- praying for ya, hope all is going well with the wedding! It gets very nerve racking, the closer ya get. I am also praying for your friend with the tumor in the lung. Wilma- hey CONGRATS on the 1 " loss curves works!

09-19-2003, 07:14 PM
Mrs. Hummer- Sorry to hear about the tooth problems! Nothing hurts more than an aching tooth. But the others are right no more skipping meals, the other night I stopped at McDonalds and they have the most wonderful grilled chick caesar salad then dinner is made just a thought, oh! and about house cleaning- Just invite E.Z. over, it will be done in a flash he cooks, cleans and does windows, think he 'll fit in a photocopy machine  :fr:  then once Angie gets him photocopied he could be faxed to ya, no more worry about whats for dinner, house cleaning! or home repairs  :grouphug: We love ya Gary, I couldn't resist !Your are prize my man, and angie sounds pretty super too! gotta run, talk next week, probably by Tues. after I catch up. I read and get ready post then run out of time, but remember you guys are always in my thoughts and prayers, and We will meet on that glorious day! Have an awesome weekend. Before I leave I gotta say thanks to sunny for missing me and praying for me, loved the butter dish and the tea rm. your so sweet, and always so thoughtful. If I missed anyone I am trully sorry gotta run though.

Doit4me....congrats on the weightloss!http://www.click-smilies.de/sammlung/sehrgrosse/large-smiley-039.gifSounds like that diet really works!

I finally reached my goal this week...35 lbs. I guess I tend to forget this is a weight loss board....& don't think to mention it. Anyway, been on my diet since April 23rd...lost slowly (can't exercise) & finally got back into my size 10's. Would like to lose more...but, would have to buy more clothes, & can't do that, right now.

SunnyD...It is so great that you work with Down Syndrome children! I agree, they love unconditionally! It would be nice if the whole world had the attitude they have. I know a young man who got married recently. He cried like a baby at the wedding, & afterwards, at the reception, told how he was blessed....& that a "normal" girl loved him. I hate the way the world calls people "normal", etc. My dad had a club foot. He could do anything anyone else could. Everyone called him "cripple", though. When I was little, I would walk in front of him & stick my tongue out at anyone who even looked at him. I'm sure there were several innocent people who wandered what my problem was! :) I sure miss him...I was "daddy's girl". He died with cancer when he was only 52. He was a preacher, & worked very hard for the Lord! The young man I told about, is also a preacher!

eisenj....I'm so sorry this burden is on you. Just pray & allow the Lord to give you the advise you need. He will. I'm still praying for you.

Mitchypoo....Sounds like you had a great day! It's such special times, when there's a song on your lips, & a praise in your heart! The whole day just goes better.

I want to thank all of you for the encouragement with the Maytag Co. I'm not trying to put their products down. We still like their appliances. Just feel we got a bad one. If I had researched, though, we would have NEVER bought that model. Like I said....several fires. To answer a question...recalls were done (for that reason) up until the year we bought ours (2002). They must have thought they had resolved the problems. Just keep praying that all will work out. We've never done anything like this before, & want to go about it the christian way.

I hope all of you have a great weekend. Hope all are safe from the hurricane. http://members.aol.com/gardenmail/gganising.gif

Can't be here too much as I have to go to work today. It is 6:15 here in California and my son just left to take his cross-country team to a big race in San Diego, Angie is out on her 3.5 mile walk and the nephew spent the night at my brother's house (it was his daughter's 16 birthday).

Just wanted to let you know things went as well as they could have at the meeting for my nephew-- his mom showed up (bummer as usual because she just caused trouble) her dad, 2 sisters and a brother in law came-- they were great and very suportive of us-- there is 6 brothers and sisters from what I understand in her family and none of them wanted to take the kids-- MOSTLY because they didn't want to deal with her. When she brought things up (lies) against my brother and I (mostly me) her family backed us 100% in every accusation. She doesn't like me so about 90% of the stuff was against me-- years ago, after she threatened to kill my kids (3 and 5 at the time) I quit talking to her about anything-- I have never ever said anything bad to her ever though to her face-- I just ignore her, except at Christmas, I always get her a nice gift like all the other aunts and uncles. Other than that I have nothing to do with her-- the best thing that ever happened was when I kicked her out of my house for good a year ago when she was screaming at the top of her lungs to my family and nephew that " Uncle Gary stole you from me-- he has always wanted you for his own son" Yea, with a 20 and 22 year old in college and an almost 16 in high school step-d, I really need a 12 year old hard to handle nephew to take care of.
Anyway, although a lot of what the social workers were trying to accomplish didn't work (simply because they are trying to look at this situation as a problem that started after my brother died- and no matter what the group tried to express during this meeting that this PROBLEM with the mom started many many years ago- way before the kids were born- they didn't seem to grasp it) They seemed to be focused on going forward from here (no problem with that) but failing to get it that what they are asking of the mom just can't or won't be done--
When they left us alone for family discussion the first words out of her mouth to me were " you got Ron's social security check didn't you?" Yes-- "well that check was mine" No- it is Ron's- "but I had him for 2 weeks last month" Yes but I had him for 2- when he went back with you for the trial period I gave you both checks that came while he was with you because it is Ron's money-- now that he is back with me I put it in his account. "But if I don't get that money I will be evicted (she is living in a motel) and my car will be repossesed (about 20 others have been too) I said oh well, if you believe the money belongs to you feel free to to to social security and tell them what has happened- if they notify me that it is your money I will gladly (I use that word loosley) hand it over to you-- She just stormed out of the room and we never saw her after that-- when she left her whole family said "IT's always about the money- never about the kids, we just gave her 1,900 as a family a few weeks ago-- they like us are always giving-- we had no idea how much-- both families thought the other side gave some but not as much as we all have.
Anyway after she left we had a great conversation and a lot was accoplished for the kids-- we all know she will be back and all agree she can be very dangerous-- Prayers are asked for both of our families here gals- thanks.

Well other than that things are well, of course I allowed Ron to go 2 weeks on his own at school without birddogging him-- guess what? He fails to turn in his work, even though he said he has done it, etc-- I talked will all his teachers this week-- new game plan Monday-- just like before I have to make him accountable- I just wanted to give him a chance with the new school year-- he blew it-- of course there was always a reason or excuse-- so like his mother--- stop the cycle!!

Off to work-- back tonight to adress you all! Love ya- Gary

http://members.aol.com/gardenmail/opcgktt2.gifSUE ~ :cp: Yeahhh, on your 12 lb loss! I lost 16 during Phase I of SBD, but when I went to Phase II put 5/6lbs back on... now in the process of it coming off again. I realy do like how good I feel on it!

Continued prayers for you!

Good Morning everyone! :)

09-20-2003, 11:04 AM
Morning GARY! We posted at almost the same time... gonna go read. Catch you afterwards!

09-20-2003, 11:12 AM
Aw Gary~big hug for you and your family, but most of all your DN and the other kids. It's so sad that the mom is like that. But I've known people like that and it's unbelievable how they think sometimes.

Sue~ :bravo: Woohoo on your weight loss! That is really wonderful! I hope you are proud of yourself.

Sunny~Good morning to you, dear one! There's an antique show in this little town i'm working in, i thought of you. ;)

I got up and walked again today! Wow, what's wrong with me? But i feel great about it and if i get my butt up early tomorrow and walk i will have met my goal for the week! Can't wait for the book club to start. My mother got the book now too so we are eachothers go to person and it's good to be able to talk about it with someone close.

I colored my hair yesterday a chestnut color! I like it but not used to it yet. Seems a little dark and red but I think it's good for fall and people like this color on me.

At work, really should go.

09-20-2003, 07:28 PM
http://members.aol.com/gardenmail/irchfish8.gifGARY ~ My heart really goes out to you and Angie & your family {and hers too!}. You are all trying to do what's best for those children. You know she doesn't care for anything but her habits! My brother is the same way --- uses his girls to get what "he" needs. For years my parents gave him money thinking they were helping him out with the girls and he took it all for himself, and one day decided that they had done enough and quit giving him $. Now it's 'Tough Love' --- they give him offers of help, but not $. When her family gives her $ - do they realize what she is doing with it? It is only supporting her habits and they are enabling her to continue this way. I heard a great saying once... "When you give a person a fish they eat for a day, but when you teach that person to fish, they eat for a lifetime" I sure do hope things get worked out soon, for those children's sake.

In the meantime... you two keep up the great job caring for that boy! My prayers!

MICHELE ~ Thanks!!! :cp: I am on my way... ;) And your hair color sounds beautiful! Sure would like to see what you all look like one day :)

:bravo: Great job on your program! Keep it going girl :bravo:

09-20-2003, 08:05 PM
Just got home from work and we are going to church tonight so I will have to post tomorrow---I PROMISE-- to all of you.

Sunny what in the heck does fishing have to do with my nephew-lol
Yes- her family is quite smart and completely understand what they are doing- but they also don't want her to be homeless (with the kids)-- they don't give her everything she asks for-- however sometimes I think they give her $$$$ just to get rid of her-- my brother does sometimes-- me- I refuse, as I went through it with both my brothers and their drugs and my dad and his booze!!

Gotta go-- Love ya

09-20-2003, 10:53 PM
I'm sorry Gary... Did I confuse you by going on like I did? I was talking about your SIL... she just sounded so much like my brother. I am sorry if I said something to hurt your feelings or make you feel defensive... didn't mean to. I was agreeing with you on your decision not to give her $ now that you all are caring for her children.

Catch you later...

09-20-2003, 11:25 PM
OOOOOOHHHHH MMMMYYYY NNNNOOOO SUNNY-- I was only KIDDING!!!!! I understood you totally!!!! Sorry if I messed --YOU up!!! Just got home from church, alot to do. See you Sunday.

P.S. I love the teach-catch-fish story!! I use it myself.

Your VIKINGS did very well today! :cb:  :cb:

HI LADIES

WOW MICHELE and SUNNYD-- both victorious on the football field today! My Raiders don't play until tomorrow night against the Broncos-- to be honest-- they are looking pretty bad so far this year. I hope that changes-- at least our local team the Chargers lost again today-- hahahahah to all my local buddies.

I spent most of the day shopping at Costco and then bringing it home and unloading it-- $605 worth-- how we spend so much is beyond me-- and we don't buy anything frozen or processed!! I gotta get rid of some kids:lol: Of course after you get 4- 2.5 gallons of water, a case of Gatorade, a case of juice, 2 cans of coffee, kool-aide jammers for the nephew, 3 cases of sport bottle waters-- there isn't much money left. Plus my daughter was coming up and had an order:lol:

Spent the day with DD-- came up to visit for the day, just left to visit her mom-- Angie is at her daughter's soccer game-- oops- I lied she just got home-- they lost- that is 0-2 on the week-end. Angie says the step-d played well enough that her dad won't take away her phone but not that good. Her father restricts her if she doesn't play well!! He expects her to be a super star which she isn't-- just a solid player.

SUNNYD Go Browns-- a big win for your boys! I am so glad you are keeping this post together!! You are doing a great job at Curves too! Did Joe BBQ all week-end? How are those boys? Tea anyone? Honestly dear- I GOT IT!!! with your message yesterday- I was not offended at all!!! I was just trying to be funny with my remark about the fishing.

MICHELEHave a great time at your Alpha. Go Vikings-- you and my Pastor should be very happy today!! How is the dating future looking? I am praying for the perfect (is there such an animal:lol: ?) man for you! I sure do like the idea of you taking up martial arts-- Dr. Laura does that and it seems to work for her-- also I really like the idea of yoyu walking every day-- THAT IS A GREAT WAY TO GET ON A ROUTINE!!

WILMA- Way to go at Curves! Glad to see you are still having company as usual! How are those boys liking school so far this year?

JUDY You did the right thing with the boyfriend remark-- I have a way of putting my foot/feet in my mouth too-- but some things need to be said-- I have also learned to hold my tongue sometimes too! Prayers for your family!!

ANGEL- I hope all goes well with the Maytag thing! God is always working on something isn't He?! Great job on the #35 loss!!! Here is asking our good Lord for help for your husband!! in his efforts on your home.

doitformeSue-- BUMMER!! I was praying so hard for that job for you-- seemed perfect! Guess our Lord knows a little more than me:lol: Can't wait to see what He has better planned for you! I am liking the results of the South Beach on you!! Yea baby!!

SAMI!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Where are you? How did the wedding go? Can't wait for pictures and "gossip" on it:) I also hope all goes well with the car pool-- I have a problem with my nephew because of work hours too.

Well off to dinner-- fish sandwiches and chips.

Have a great week!! Bless all of you!

Hello CE'rs

I'm here Sunny D - you are so sweet, missing me like that!

I hope everyone is happy and doing well.

SAMI - I hope the wedding went great - I'm glad you managed to sort out the dress - I bet she looked beautiful!

SUNNY - Glad you are enjoying Curves. How are things with you? I've had another go at the card making and am getting better each time I try - Nigel was a sweetie and went out and bought me some proper art pens and nice paper to use - bless!

I've been doing okay - a little bit up and down due to the stressful circumstances in our lives at the moment - Nigel got a letter from his work saying they are thinking of dismissing him, (he's been off sick with work related stress for 10 months). He's been planning to resign for a while now and a solicitor has told him he could take them to a tribunal for constructive dismissal. So he's been waiting and trying to get hold of relevant paperwork to help him to plead his case for if he goes to a tribunal. His work have been so sneaky - they have deleted his computer files and emails and 'lost' his file and now 'lost' his contract! It stinks - but this is how they have been for the last 10 months - all threats and bullying. I'll just be so glad when he resigns - but if he goes to a tribunal it will continue to drag on.....but I'll support him whatever decision he makes.

So the whole situation has been wearing us down. I just really want some good news - we've been having such a tough year that I really want to see a sign that there is hope on the horizon. Maybe it will happen when Nigel has resigned and we are finally free to move on. You know how it feels to be 'under' something for so long - it can be so stressful - I think we will both feel immense relief when it is over , no matter what happens.

I've lost 10lb now and have established a regular routine of going to the gym and using my exercise bike which is really helping.

Anyway - God bless you all

Love Amanda xx

09-21-2003, 11:17 PM
Oh my Lord, $605 at Costco! Are you crazy Gary! That's 2 monthes rent for me. Well, i guess that's what happens when you have kids. My mom will go up there for a 1.5 doz. pkg of eggs. That's all she buys. But it's worth it to her. It wouldn't be worth it for me at this point.

And you tell Angie that I want to pay for that journal, i'm sure it's costing her money. Can't wait to see what she's come up with.

My dating life is practically non-existent. The one single guy at Alpha didn't show up tonight and he was gonna be in my small group, so maybe next week. And the other one who plays the drums isn't staying for the talk which is a shame. There is a friend i've been talking to online for about a year who i'm very interested in. He's really nice, a widow, lost his wife about 2 years ago now and he's still having a little bit of a hard time with it. We talked last night for over 2 hours on the phone. He makes me laugh and he's very interesting. He may come up on his touring bike and we may go for a ride. He's a big teddy bear.

I still have an awful headache and pain in my shoulders, an achyness. My dr. called and left a message to call this last friday, i'll find out what that was about tomorrow. Trying not to worry.

Thanks for the cup of tea Sunny! Tea always makes it better!

Hi friends

I have decided to let the problem with my daughter go. I do not want to stir the waters. I know the truth about her ex boyfriend and so call girlfriend going behind Laura's back. What they did was ugly. Laura has moved on ,and so should I. I am not mad at the kids, but at how insensitive they are to her feelings. Laura is still friends with this girl. She needs to learn what a true friend is. I need to back off and let her learn for herself. She needs to stand up for herself. I can't shield her from the world. The kids mothers who are angry with me right now don't know the whole story ,and if they did they would not be so judgemental. They are good people just misinformed. They only know one side. God knows what really happened and that is all thats important to me. If one of my kids was out of line I would not mind if an adult set them straight as long as it was out of love. Thats exactly what I did. I am not sorry for what I said. What they did was wrong.

The young man is doing fine after the car accident. I asked for prayer for him in sunday school. Please pray he heals well.

I will try to write to you all later

I'm back

~Amanda~I'm sorry to hear Nigels employer is being so nasty. It is really hard when you are not getting along at your work place. I'll pray he gets a new job that he loves.

Congratulations on your weight loss:dance:   I started at 236 and I am 229 now. I also need to loss about 100lbs. I go to curves for exercise, but I need to start walking. I want to loss 5lbs every two weeks. !0lbs by the end of the month and 30lbs by Christmas.

~Michele~ I hope you get to feeling better. When I was younger and hurting from a relationship or lack of one. I would work on getting fit. It helped with the blues and it made me feel better about myself. Also working on ones additude makes you more approachable. Im not saying you have a additude problem. I'm just saying people like to be around other people that make THEM feel good. Guys love weman that can cook. So when you find that special someone make a nice meal especially for him. Lot of love:sunny:

~Sami~ How was the wedding? I bet it was beautiful!:D :D :D

~Angel~ Any new news about your son in law (Chris) in Iraq? Our sunday school just found out the guy we write to, and send packages to, will not be home by christmas. He has six more months on active duty. He is in an engineering group. His birthday just past he turned 50. He misses his wife so much. We make sure she is well cared for. Service mens wives need all the love and support too. Tell Gina we love her.

~Gary~Cosco must love it when you go through their doors. Boys are bottomles pits. My son has not hit that stage when he can't get enough food. My husband said a guy at work has a son on a swim team who is burning alot of calories. He went to an all you can eat pizza place, and ate four whole pizzas. The man manager asked the father not to bring him back, because he would put him out of business. I wish I could eat like that.

[color=orange]~Sunny~ You are a breath of sunshine. Make it a GREAT day! :sunny: :sunny: :sunny:

God bless you all

Man oh man, has it been quite the day! I'll tell you later in detail but it started by getting called into the office first thing this a.m. and then talking to my dr's office.

Things are gonna change for me real soon.

09-22-2003, 05:44 PM
Oh My Gosh, MICHELE! :o Please don't say it's anything serious :?: Come back soon and fill us in!

09-22-2003, 07:10 PM
Hi all

Well i just have to tell ya, today was a a monday! I got called into the office, first thing and of course you always think, "What did i do?" but it wasn't me at all. I think i have mentioned that I have a girl at work who makes it very difficult. She's only 22 and she's just been a snot to me. I've kind of learned to deal with her by not dealing with her. I deal w/ her professionally, am always nice to her, but I don't go out of my way for her. She also is the President's SIL and they are all family and i'm not. So my boss called me in and said that it was brought to her attention that there is trouble between us and she wanted to know what was going on. Well, i just told her the truth and she said she was so sorry, that the president(her daughter) saw it, but she didn't and that I shouldn't have to work like that and it was not acceptable and she was really sorry. I explained to her that i wanted to talk to them but after all, they made it apparent that I was not family and i wanted to keep this job. She said that they are not family when we are at work. She would handle it anyway she needed to. So she asked how i wanted it handled, talk to her privately or have the both of us and a mediator and i told her I didn't care, that I was proud of my behaviour and it wouldn't bother me to talk about it in front of her but however she wanted to handle it. So they had a talk with her and then she said we were having a group meeting which we did and then it was her and I and the 2 owners and she asked me to tell her what it has been like working here and so i told her. I was calm and i was not accusatory but i was to the point and truthful. She told her side of the story, said that I stopped talking to her. (Well ya!) And I told her, after you started reacting to me the way you do, frankly, i didn't want to talk to you. I told her that I didn't really care if she didn't like me but I expect to atleast be professional and courteous to eachother. Well, then she started crying and left the room and I felt bad, they told me not to, that she cries about everything. But I think things will be better now. I noticed her attitude was better even this afternoon. Then the bosses took us all to lunch and that was fun. So ultimately it was a good thing!

And....before our talk i talked to the Dr's nurse and I have mononucleosis! I was just flabbergasted! I knew she was testing me, but i thought there was no way i could have that. And I could have had it for i don't know how long. Actually i had another blood test taken today after work and they will determine how long i have had it. I'm glad to know there's a reason i feel so icky, but i'm not sure what to do about it. They told me i have to get lots more rest, I told her i work 6+ days a week and she said I need to rethink that, I have to get lots of fluids which isn't a problem. And all I could think about was that stupid guy i dated who asked me, "Are you tired?" oh, i was so bugged, but he was right! Ya, i'm tired, I have Mono, you fool! ;) I don't think I can take any time off work but I will get to bed much earlier and have to just try and take better care of myself.

Have to go watch my taped Dr.Phil show and get ready for bed!

Oh, the WA guy is suppose to come out here this week through the weekend, not sure he'll even call. Maybe that's for the best.

Sorry to run on........

Glad to hear you are okay Michele. It sounds like you handled the work situation with great maturity, and I bet your boss noticed too. I'm terrible in situations like that - I always cry!

Sorry to hear about your illness - if you don't mind me asking, what is mononucleosis? I've not heard of it before.

Chin up!

Awwwe MICHELE ~ I don't have much time right now, but just wanted to let you know that I had Mono when I was younger. It is called the "kissing disease" noooo.... not because you've been kissing - although that isn't so bad. It's because it spreads by way of kissing. It does effect your spleen and you have to be very careful. When I got it I was on complete bedrest for 10 days!

Michele, I would ask more questions if I were you and take the "resting" very seriously! Maybe look it up on the net.

Talk to you soon...gotta go finish dinner.
Made home made chicken soup --- would you like a bowl to make you feel better?? :(

09-22-2003, 07:25 PM
MICHELE ~ Here is a link to questions and answers for you... hope it helps you to better understand it.

So glad to hear that everything worked out so well at work !

09-22-2003, 07:29 PM
Amanda~ here's a link that explains what mono is http://my.webmd.com/content/Article/7/1680_53642.htm I had to read it too cuz i had it when i was about 12, but wanted to see what I could do about it. She did tell me no contact sports and i see why now and i wonder if i do have some jaundice.

I'm wondering if i need to tell my boss cuz she has a 2 yo DD but I haven't given her a kiss in about 2 months. And there was no saliva, i know it's contagious but not that much. I don't want them to treat me like i have cooties. I almost told her today and then stopped, wanted to know more about it. I'm very curious how long i've had it, but i'll know tomorrow.

Sunny~a cup of soup sounds devine about now. Thanks!

09-23-2003, 07:57 AM
I sure do hope that everybody is doing okay... it has been pretty quiet here lately. I know I haven't been on as much since I became a part of the Dr. Phil Book Club.

My hubby and I got some sad news last night  and that's why I never came back to post to you all (sorry). A very Dear friend, Miss Dottie, passed away at 90 yrs young! She walked her T-mill and road her exercise bike every single day till just 4 weeks ago when she took ill again. She was dying of cancer & has been for many years. Ever have someone just "light-up" when they saw YOU come in the room? That was Dottie! Whenever she would see me she would say "there's my sweetheart... how are you doing precious" Never wanting to speak of her problems and always there for yours.

A Precious Gem! She will be so missed by so many!
But now the Lord gets to enjoy her company and he surely will!

Take Care everyone!
Please KNOW how Precious you are to someone out there.
And that you are always Precious to our Lord

09-23-2003, 09:16 AM
Sunny~I'm so sorry for your loss, she sounded like a very dear woman. :grouphug:

09-23-2003, 09:50 AM
SunnyD....I am so sorry you lost your friend. She must have been a wonderful person...according to your description. We are very fortunate to know friends as this in our lifetime. It's so hard to give them up....as I understand...I lost a dear friend this past June. Like your friend, though, I know she was prepared to be with the Lord. Although we miss them so very much...we wouldn't want to bring them back. They now have a new body, with no suffering or pain. Know that I am praying for you. http://www.vfwds.com/graphics/images/roses/rose18.gif

09-23-2003, 10:41 AM
Gary~sorry about your Raiders. I saw some of the game but they were only in the 2nd quarter right before i went to bed. Sounds like it was a tough game to watch. Hope they do better next week.

I'm not going walking right now and I did get to sleep for 9 hours last night, it was tough to shut everything off at 9 pm but i have to for atleast 2 weeks and see how it goes.

09-23-2003, 11:01 AM
It's my day off, and pouring out, so, guess I'm in for the day. My church has been having a mission's conference all week where the missionarys we support give their report back to the church, and usually do a bible lesson, and that has been nice.
Sunny-D So sorry to hear about your friend, it is hard when someone passes away, but so much more comforting if you know for sure they were saved. Just think she is looking on Jesus face, and being held in his arms, no more pain, worry or sadness. My thoughts and prayers are with you. Mitchy- sorry to hear your sick but that would explain why you haven't felt well for awhile and why your always tired. I will keep you in my prayers for a speedy recovery. Hi to everyone else, still praying for dn E.Z. and for Soldiers in Irag for Angel and all the others families out there. Hi to all thats been missing fromposting. Hi to amanda - still in my prayers for Nigel's job, and getting settled. God Bless all!

09-23-2003, 11:21 AM
Good morning

~sunny D~ I'm sorry to hear about your friend. She sounds like she had a big heart. I lost four friends this year to cancer. The last one was only 30 years old. He had two young kids and a lovely wife. His sister died just a month earlier from the same type cancer. She had a daughter in high school who was graduating. Her only wish was that her mom would see her get her diploma. She never made it. All were great christans.

~Angel~How is your son-in-law? We ( our sunday school class) got a letter from Iraq. SSg Don Terry Luton said that they have been commanded to stay six more months. The men are disappointed ,because the men thought they were coming home before christmas. He turned 50 this month. On his bed was a dozen cards from our class. He was very touched. Ever church should adopted a few men and there families to pray for and support. How is your daughter doing? Lot of love and prayers.

~Michele~ I'm glad you got things cleared up at work. It's not fun working in an angry environment. Your stomach gets tied in nots and you hate going into work. WOW mono take it easy. How do you even get out of bed? That takes a while to get out of your system. It takes all your energy.

~sue~ Congrats on loss 15lbs:dance; I tried the South Beach Diet,, but got headaches and felt bad on it. I knew the first two weeks were going to be hard, but I just could not stay on it. There have been alot of ladies that think its great . You have to see for yourself.

I'm glad your still in the running for that new position. Please keep us informed.

I'm off to curves have a blessed day.

Hi Sue!

Thanks for your prayers - it means alot to me. How are you and how is your diet going?

09-23-2003, 02:16 PM
Thanks Judy- I am still in the running if I don't get this one, there is a very similair position becoming available in Nov. so maybe I can get that one. Wait on the Lord, and pray is what I plan on doing! I so far have not had any problems which is good, with the SB diet. I am in the second week, and haven't cheated yet so we will see. I will keep the soldiers in Iraq and around the workd in my prayers. Pray that peace will come to the region. Hope you had a great day at curves.
Amanda- Thanks- So, far so good, I think some of the loss was water weight but I can get into some of my old pants, comfortably now, so that is a plus, and plan to keep going, as so far really hasn't been bad, and will continue to keep you and Nigel in my prayers.

Well, friends....I don't know what I've done to deserve all of this...but....our storage unit was broken into. All of our furniture, clothes, etc., we had stored waiting for the house to be finished....is gone. We had some VERY nice furniture that survived the fire. One of the two bedroom suits (both oak) was one we bought the week we got married 35 years ago. My dad died when I was 21....what didn't burn in the fire....all his things that I had....I could go on & on. I've collected angels for 10 yrs...I had washed LOTS of angels & carefully packed them away....all gone. I can't believe this. The storage unit was so full, my husband had to push on the contents to get the door closed!

Anyway...I'm telling that so say this...our lawyer is adding this to the settlement. He has given me a lot of paper work to do....as well as a lot of running around. I'm going to be too busy to post for awhile. I'll try to come check in once in awhile, briefly. Don't give up on me.

I can tell you one thing....I'm really down, these days. Need your prayers, still.

Everyone take care...know that I'm thinking of you all, and praying for you.

09-23-2003, 07:25 PM
Angel: You did NOTHING to deserve this. I'm so sorry it happened to you. I can't imagine this ever happening and how you must be feeling. You are in my prayers.

Sunny: I'm sorry to hear of your loss. It's so hard to say good-bye to someone we held dear to us. Prayers are going for you too!

Michele: Please take care of yourself. Maybe you'll be the one that doesn't have it for long.

I am having a pretty good week. My inlaws left yesterday leaving behind a freezer full of baking. Plus, I'm going to a workshop for 3 days this week and get off work earlier than if I was at work so I get extra time at home. I hope to get some meals ready that are half decent for my family.

I've been doing pretty well with WOE and am still faithfully "Curving". Hopefully the results will show on the next weigh in.

I'm really beat and still have to go make supper so I'll say goodby for now. Talk to you again tomorrow!

I cannot stay on long, but just want to say
"Thank-you" so much for all your kind words!
You are all such Special people!

There are those who believe,
So the story is told,
That at birth you receive
Your own Angel to hold.
You come into this world
On a wing and a prayer
And throughout your lifetime
She will always be there.
A guardian Angel
Who will guide what you do,
Her pure essence is love,
Sent to watch over you.

ANGEL ~ You are so Precious, you don't deserve anything that has happened to you! I am so very sorry!
I have left you an extra Guardian Angel... (((Hugs))) :grouphug:

:flow2: I am back from the ladies retreat cruise to Cozumel, Mexico! I had such a wonderful time and fellowship with the Lord and the group of ladies. Not so sure I want to take another cruise anytime soon. I still feel like I'm on that boat - rocking back and forth or tilting to one side for a bit and then to another. Wonder how long it takes to get your land legs back?

It was an experience and the Lord was moving on that ship more than the ship was rocking too and fro! What blessings and new friendships and rest.

I hope all of you are doing well. It was a lot of reading to do...17 pages  !!!!

Sunny D - thanks for the compliment on my website. I've neglected it for awhile. I miss writing, but that was one of the things God worked on this weekend, getting me back in His word and writing about what I've learned or what I'm inspired to praise Him with.

Ok well I'm at work rocking back n forth in my chair, but I better get back to work.
Talk with you all soon!

Hi All!

I've been keeping up on everyone but haven't posted for awhile. I am wondering when have you noticed your clothes being any looser than usual. I have lost 20 lbs. Yeah!!! But I still haven't noticed my clothes feeling any different. Is it because it's a gradual weightloss? My sister lost 10 lbs and could feel the difference!

God's Blessings!
