GOOD MONDAY MORNING EVERYONE!

Will post my usual morning post sometime later, but wanted to make sure I got our
MOTIVATIONAL MONDAY done early in the morning, so here's my contribution for MM, there's 2 of them to read today:

http://members.aol.com/debelli/monday_morning_thought.jpg

MAKE A MASTERPIECE

Relax and enjoy the ride. Sometimes you can control where you're going, other times you get swept along by forces beyond your control. Yet you can always control how you think and feel and respond. You can always control what you carry with you as you move on ahead.

Resist the urge to fight against events, or to become completely absorbed by them. Instead, find a way to make positive and productive use of them. There is so much more to be gained when you focus on moving forward than when you become consumed by looking backward. Rather than getting hung up on how you got here, become enthusiastic about where you can go from here.

The way will sometimes be slow and bumpy, and other times it will be smooth and easy. In all cases it will be filled with opportunities for joy, meaning and true fulfillment.

As each moment of life arrives with its unique and never-before-tasted flavor, smile and let it be. Then proceed to make it a masterpiece.

-- Ralph Marston

A DAY TO CHOOSE

Today is a new day, and with it comes the freedom to choose. You can choose to discard the old, destructive habits that you know are holding you back.

You can choose to move past outdated assumptions, to open your mind to new and powerful ideas. You can choose to focus your thoughts on the abundance of positive possibilities that fill your world.

You can choose today to stop waiting, to stop complaining, to stop wishing, and to start taking real, effective action. You can choose to look straight into whatever it is that challenges you most, and to work your way steadily through it.

You can choose to rise above the worries and distractions. You can choose to see and to bring out the positive in every person you encounter, and in each situation that comes along.

Whatever has come before today is now over. This is a new day, and you can choose the very best course for moving positively forward.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGES:

As usual we continue with to TRY AND GET IN AT LEAST 64 OUNCES OF WATER A DAY and TRY TO GET IN AT LEAST 3 DAYS WORTH OF EXERCISE and post it on the exercise board.

THIS WEEKS CHALLENGE:

Take at least one day out this week and list what fruits you had for the day. You can list just the fruits, but if you know the weight/size and caloric info, that would be great too. Do you get enough or too much fruit?

Here's our ongoing
CHALLENGE FOR THE MONTH OF SEPTEMBER This challenge is optional, as everything on this board is, but I hope you will all take the month out and try to do this.

In the past I've wanted to do a STORY BOARD. A more in-depth of each persons individual struggles with their weight and the story behind how they came to where they are now and how they came to go on SB. I know many people ask me about my history and thought having a STORY BOARD would be a good idea.

So, here's your challenge, take the month and write about your struggles, triumphs, highs, lows, etc. in regards to your weight. Try to give it a nifty title if you can (if you need help coming up with one, just ask) and give the reason why you chose that particular title. A good word to use is WEIGHT. I will post a new board just for this challenge on the SB INFORMATION BOARDS, or do you think we should keep it here on the weekly board area? I hope you will all join me in it. If you have any questions at all, just ask. Don't think it's a good idea - tell me!!!

GOOD LUCK!!!

I am so excited!!!! I weighed today and have lost nearly 5 lbs in one week!!!!! I've never had such a big loss in one week. Actually, it probably shouldn't happen, considering I only want to lose 30-35 lbs. The SBD book says that a person will lose between 8-13 lbs if they follow the strict first 2 weeks. I really didn't think I would lose even the 8 lbs since I didn't have too much to lose to begin with. But it looks like 8 lbs might be do-able.

I had a good weekend. DS had his last soccer game and there was pizza. I needed to eat cause I had a headache from not eating, so I just ate the cheese and pepperoni off the top and gave the bread part to DH to eat!!! Then we had dinner at our friends' place. I had told my girlfriend what I was NOT eating and she was accomodating. She made this big veggie salad and I had lots of that with a steak. I had brought some deviled eggs and a cheese ball with celery (for me) and crackers (for everyone else). There were two desserts and they both looked wonderful. I didn't have any dessert--unless you count the weiner I had! I drank only water even tho they had some coolers that I really like.

I did have about a teaspoon of ice cream last night when I fixed my guys a cone. It tasted SOOOO SWEET!!!! It didn't taste that good to me. I guess because pretty much all sugars have been eliminated (no fruit, limited milk, and I only put agave in my morning coffee--and I'm actually using less of that too) that my sweet buds are really sensitive.

I really can't believe that I've been 7 whole days OP! Now I just have to get my exercise program going.

I had to buy some clothes yesterday cause I didn't have anything appropriate for my uncle's memorial service tomorrow. I got a few things and bought styles that are easy for me to alter if, no WHEN, I lose more weight. Thank goodness I can sew.

Tomorrow will be busy for me with the memorial and then having the family back to our house.

WELCOME--to all the new people on the board! This is a wonderful place. Right now I'm doing the South Beach diet but I feel it's pretty much like SugarBusters (which I started with) and these SB people here are so nice that's why I'm still posting here. Lots of wisdom and fun here.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY:hb: :gift: :hat: :balloons: to MELF, LAURIANNE and SUPERDAVE!!!! I hope all of you have a really nice special day.

ROSALIE--I have family in and around Peterborough. You really are a travelling girl these days!

Ok gang, I have to go. Since the family is coming here tomorrow, I have major cleaning up to do!!! Every minute counts!

Morning!

I am off today, because I am catering dinner for the leadership meeting tonight. I have lots to do, but wanted to stop in and say hello.

Happy Birthday, Melf! :balloons:

I hopped in the metal monster again this morning. It looks better than ever! I am down another pound, maybe two. I will see what it looks like on Wednesday for a more official decision.

Coffee is done, so I am going to go get a cup and decide on breakfast.

Have a great day, and a great week!

Good Monday Morning,

Hope everyone is ready to start a new week in our wt loss efforts.

My eating was great for the weekend. Made it through both parties with no problems. I did have some wine Sat night but passed on the 10 wonderful looking desserts. Had my burger with no bun. My only mistake was someone brought rice and black beans. I asked if it was brown rice, someone said of course it was and the girl who made it didn't know. It ended up being that Zatermarines (sp) so it probably wasn't. But I only had 1 T full. My DS even made the SB cobbler that was posted on the board. I did probably have 1 too many starchy carbs yesterday, but the scale was fine this morning. Friday night we went Mexican, and I took my homemade chips with me. Excellent. i was completely satisfied. I got the steak fajitas and was fine.

My fruit for today will be an apple. My cupboard is getting bare and I think apples are the only thing in there. So I will be under on my fruit today.

Deb, on the poll I checked that didn't crave either. I mostly crave salty things, like chips.

Zanne, WOW you did fantastic this weekend. WTG on being prepared and passing up the bad things. You seem really focused this time, I am sure you will suceed.

Melf, Have a great birthday. :hat: :gift: :balloons: Enjoy your day.

Monet, enjoy your day off, but it looks like you willb e busy all day cooking. I know it will be delish.

Have a great OP day.

Went back to read the posts that I missed over the weekend.

Deb, microwaves are so cheap now that it probably wouldn't be worth fixing. Wow you did some gret walking last week. You are so right, it is amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it. Congrats on being OP 3 weeks. Keep up the good work.

Gator, I really thought those gators were going to pull it off. Great game. That was really horrible what your "friends" did to you. I don't know if I could have kept quiet. But I guess it is better than ruining the whole weekend. Hope you spent a lot of their money.

Chrisd, WElcome to our board, This is a wonderful group. Lots of support, friendship and just downright fun. You won't find a better person than Deb. She goes all out for all of us. Always giving us info on foods and everything else, plus keeps this board going. She's the greatest.

Heartmom, hope Ashley is feeling better and Boogie too. Hope she doesn't give him the virus. We won't even go there on the thighs. I need a thigh lift and lip suction too!! :fr: Go to fitness.com and look for some exercises. They give illustrations too.

Beach, are you crazy? 4 teenagers all weekend. You get a medal.

Teensy, glad GM is home and doing better. $45.00 for a bra!! I hate to pay $20.

Bob, glad to see you home safe and sound. Hey I believe the CATS represented the SEC well this week. Didn't play great, but at least its a win.

Now I'm all caught up and know what's going on. Now I can get on with my day.

Have a great one!

Hello everyone.

Nothing new going on here, it's just the same ol' thing. The weekend was ok, even though the kids tried to eat everything in the house. They've been doing that now for a while.

I don't know if I've lost anything as of right now, but my doc knows I've lost weight since I saw her last, and that's a good thing.

Happy Birthday to Melf, Laurieann, and Superdave!!! Hope all of you enjoy your day.

I tried to send Deb a pic of our puppy but it wouldn't go through, so I decided I'd try to post it myself. I haven't even done it before so I don't know if I got it saved in my puter right and got it entered in here right, so we'll see. I'm guessing he's around 9 weeks old. His name is Biscuit and he's a Brittany Spaniel, and spoiled worse then the kids are.

Ok, I'm gonna go for now and see if this picture works. I'll talk to y'all later.

Jenn

WOW!!!! It worked!!!!!!!!!!

Here is my Motivation for the Day:

"Contentment isn't getting what we want but being satisfied with what we have"

BOY this is hard in todays society where everywhere we turn there is new food to try and new gadgets to buy. Ads make us want all the pretty clothes, furniture etc. I think this has a lot to do with eating too. Even the weight loss magazines have huge ads for new and better food and recipes. I have to stop reading First Magazine when I get to the recipes because they make me hungry and crave food then. So my goal over the next month is to try and be content with what I have and not buy unless it is needed. I'm going to see if I can get the kids and hubby to try this as well. For food I'm going to try and enjoy what I should eat and not crave what I shouldn't. Wish me luck!

It will be another busy crazy week for me. I'm off this morning because I have to take DS in for braces...$4000 worth. OUCH:fr:
My DD had them 3 years ago and they have gone up $1500. Couldn't believe it. She even had more extensive work! Hope he appreciates this. He probably won't until he has to pay for his own child. I know I never had braces and even though my top teeth and smile are ok...the bottom is a mess and I have TMJ as a result. He is the same way...terrible bottom but top is ok.

I stayed OP all weekend. I'm getting the hang of combining SB and WW. I weighed in this morning and was 166 which is 30 less than where I started back and 56 from my high.

I think I will try to up my walking habit. I have been walking 3-4 times a week and would like to get 5 days in.

:gift: :hb: :gift: Happy Birthday Melf, Dave and Laurieanne. My sons bday is tomorrow too.

Jack-k...way to go on staying OP all weekend. It is hard when you have to attend events. Yes, a little crazy. DS really enjoyed his time with his friends over. He even had some girls over for awhile!

Heart: Hope eveyone gets well soon. We had the virus in our house the last 2 weeks and it is miserable. Try zicam to prevent yourself from getting it.

Zanne: WTG. I have a friend doing SouthB and it looks like she will also drop about 8 in 2 weeks. I may try something like the first 2 weeks if I stall out on what I am doing.

Monet: Have fun getting ready for the catering. I bet you enjoy the cooking! Just try not to taste!

Deb: Have a good day. Thanks for all you do!

Good Monday Morning:wave:

Just got in from my walk. I didn't have much energy to go this morning, didn't sleep well, but I went out there and did my 4.5 miles though my butt was dragging on the ground.

Have to take my car to the tire store-short version, got a really long nail in my tire yesterday, paid for a patch, flat again today - always something!

Gonna get right to posts before I have to head out...

CHRIS, you're going to love the people on the board - they are so awesome in so many ways. Thanks for posting your BIO on the BIO BOARD - it was nice to learn a bit more about you:) Will reply to your e-mails later - as you can see above, I have to get out of the house shortly and I need to get in the shower soon-I'm starting to ferment!!!!

ZANNE, CONGRATS on being down so much. Atkins/Phase One SOBE will do that-the key is to ease right into the SB/Phase Two and not go crazy with the carbs.

MONET, CONGRATS to you for being down - are you hitting new lows?? What are you making for the event tonight?

JACKK, sounds like you had a good weekend and did really well. Wouldn't chips be under carbs-they are potatoes;) Gosh, you are so sweet to say all those nice things about me to CHRIS - I don't feel so worthy of that praise. I feel this board and it's members do so much more for me than I could ever do for them!

JEC, oye, he's soooo cute!!! Glad you were able to figure out how to post a pic of the newest family member.:D

BEACH, thanks for posting that MM thought. Lord, I can't believe braces are that expensive - I'd die if I had to pay for them! Hope your day off isn't too stressful and you get some time to relax and take it easy today.

Okay, gotta run - will check back later.

Have a great week!

Good Monday morning everyone!

Let me just say that I was soooooo bad; probably worse than I've been since I started this woe. My hubby and I did go out to dinner on Saturday to a French Bistro that we had a $100 gift certificate to. It is in a swanky part of town....we ended up spending $60 in addition to the $100 gift cert. We ordered a bottle of chardonnay (probably 3 glasses each). I had one slice of the french bread as well as some of an appetizer I'm not even sure what it was (some sort of patte that I didn't really care for). I had a house salad with dressing on it (don't even know what kind as it was all mixed in). For dinner I had filet Mignon with baby squash and tomatoes. So, all in all, you think that's not too bad, but it gets worse. We went to the Ocean Club after that, where I ordered a Michelob Ultra and hubby ordered a Manhattan (it cost $19 just for the Manhattan; of couse we didn't ask before we ordered). After that we went to a night club called Barcelona, where I had 3 more Michelob Ultras, and we ordered Salmon Bruschetta bread. SOOOOO, I am glad that I ate as much as I did since I rarely drink anymore, and I drank quite a bit. I wasn't feeling too hot yesterday a.m. I didn't even rebound yesterday with great eating, as I didn't feel too great. So, today is a new day and a new start and I am making some oatmeal right now, and will have an OP day. I am up to 125.5 this morning, which is a little high from where I've been, but I had a good time, and my hubby and I don't get out very often.

The pep rally at the gym was a lot of fun. They had three people speak of their experiences. One had gone from a 24 pant size to a size 10, another had lost 100 pounds in the past year, and one was now in a size 2 (after getting up to a horrible size 10-ha). I guess she was always really tiny (weighed 117 when she was 9 month preg. with ea. child). Once she hit menopause, she got up to 142#, and is only 5' tall. The nutritionist didn't say one thing that I didn't alreay know. I am so proud that I have self-educated myseld so much in the past 6-9 months. They were pushing a wellness program that they offer, where a nutritionist will go grocery shopping with you and teach you how to shop, as well as their other services. They did free body composition testing. Since mid-June, I have lost 3% points off my body fat. I am at 26%, but will shoot for 24% or below. They also had a line of vitamins/supplements that they were advertising.

I'm going to try to get to the gym when DD is in school; I gotta get back on track.

Monet: Hello; what a way to spend a day off, eh? The name of the book is The Carnitine Miracle, by Robert Crayhon. It is very informative and very interesting reading.

Deb: Thanks for the info. on the recommended fiber intake; I'll have to keep a much closer eye on it. I will plan to stick around, as it will help me to maintain. I like having to be accountable on WIW. I also think this is the best board I have ever been involved in....great recipes, great support!! You are doing fantastic on your eating and exercising. Way to go!!

Zanne: Great job on the 5#. You are well on your way to losing that 30 pounds you need to lose. Keep up the great work. I'll be interested to see what your total loss is after the two week induction period.

Happy Birthday Melf, and I'll probably forget to say Happy Birthday to LaurieAnn & SuperDave tomorrow, so I'll say it today. Enjoy your special Day!!

Jack: Way to stay OP all weekend; I wish I could say the same. It was worth it though; we had a great time.

jecrites: What a precious pup. I'm a total dog lover and puppies pull at my heartstrings. We once had 4 dogs because I always had to bring that poor little stray home. How did you put the picture in the post? I want to try to do that one of these days.

beach: Those kiddos can be expensive little boogers. We have decided to put our daughter in a private school, and the monthly tuition can really add up over time. I often wonder if my girls will need braces. My oldest sucked her thumb until she was 3 years old, but her teeth are beautiful now; we'll see when the adult teeth break through. My youngest likes her pacifier at night and naps. I don't remember if you said your daughter was still in braces, or that she already had them off. It's amazing how the prices can go up so high in such a short amount of time; most insurance companies do nothing to help with orthodontics either.

Well, I better go get some stuff done around here.

I hope everyone has a wonderful OP week. I hope to check in later today.

Good morning everyone. I had a great camping trip over the week-end. It was wonderful to get away from the house, out in the fresh air and kick back and relax with DH. I did pretty well on my eating but my DH brought some drinks along I shouldn't have had and I enjoyed them. Hope it hasn't hurt me to much. But today is a new day. I walked on my TM this morning to start my week out right. So here I go...............

Happy Birthday Melf!!!!

Zanne- congradulations on your big loss. That is super good and I'm sooo happy for you that you're doing so well. I love your wonderful attitute..

Monet- Yippee!!! You're doing great to. I hope your dinner turns out wonderful....

Jack-K- You're doing so well. And your determination is great. Keep it up girlfriend!!

jecrites- Love the picture of Biscuit. And what a darling name for a dog. Doesn't it feel good when the doctor knows you're losing!

beachfan- I like your motivation and it sure is something to think about. Wow braces are outrageous. Sounds like you're doing really well. Keep up the good work...

Debilli- Congrads on getting out there and doing your walk when you didn't feel like it. You are really going good with that!!!

Well guess I'm done for now and will pop back later.... Got tons of wash from the week-end.

Ok, I did it. I did 15 min on the Gazelle...I know it doesnt seem like much, but that machine is a heart pumper and when you havent done any activity in months thats a lot. Plus I did 100 sit ups and 50 push ups (knees on the ground, of course). So not too bad for my first official day of excersise! Now I have to go shower, cause I feel like Deb did this morning!

Howdy everyone.

My fruit for today has been a glass of O.J. (if that counts as it was juice and not the orange itself), and some cantaloupe. I know it's better to eat the orange instead of drinking the juice, but this med I'm on wants me to drink O.J. or eat a banana, and I don't really care for green bananas, plus there are no bananas to be found in the house; kids ate them all.

Well on to some replies and then to take Biscuit out to potty again.

Pancho, I like dogs, but I like cats better. Growing up I always had both, but when dogs get that bad doggy odor after being outside. Cats have their own odor too, but you don't always have to bathe them to get rid of it. My GM on the other hand loves dogs. She'd still have some if she was able to tend to them like she used to. I had to save the pic onto my puter and then I did the attachment thingy at the bottom of the post reply page. I had to make sure I could remember where I had saved the pic to though.

Toni, It sure does feel good when the docs know you are loosing weight. I have always wondered what they are really thinking when I would go in there and my weight was either the same or higher, I probably really don't want to know though. I've not had one to tell me to loose weight thank goodness, I'd probably cry right there in front of them.

Deb, Now that I know how to post a pic, I'll have to take one of the kids and post it so y'all can see the little deamons I have to deal with! Ahh, they aren't too bad, but they do have their moments!

That's it for now, talk to y'all later.

It was beauuuuuutiful outside this mornign for my walk. I put in an extra mile just to stay out in it. We started our walking week yesterday so we can take a different day off this week. I weighted this morning hoping I might have finally lost a pound..not..LOL still at 154. I haven't had orange juice in a while so I had a coffee cup of it this morning for a treat. My stuffed peppers didn't come out as good as the resturant but they sure were delicious. I may try them again sometime wayyyy in the future. No one eats them but me.

Poncho....sounds like you had a fantastic night on the town. You know that is water weight and will probably be gone tomorrow or the next day. :)

Toni....good morning. I bet the camping was just awesome with this cooler weather.

chrisb....WTG starting your week with exercise. You'll be amazed at how much energy you actually gain from working out. 15 minutes on the gazelle is a long time. My sister had one of those and I played on it for a few minutes and my heart was a thumpin'.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Melf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! May today bring you many surprises and treasures to brighten your day.

Beach....thanks for the MM. That is what I am trying really hard to do right now. When I start whining about 154 I remind myself it's not 235 any more.

Jenn....what a cute pup.

Zanne....woo hoo five pounds. I'd almost give my eye teeth to lose five pounds in one week again.

Jack-K....WTG staying OP with that busy weekend. You are gonna be back to your all time low and below in NO time.

Monet...hope your dinner is a success and everyone appreciates your time and energy.

Deb..thanks for getting the board started and keeping us motivated. You are awesome.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

235/154/140-135....maybe maybe....LOL

Good Monday morning Sugar Buster's........IT IS RAINING HERE!! Thank You God. We have been so hot and dry here, that everything is burning up. Wild fires are everywhere. So you can see why I am so happy!

Yesterday was not a good eating day for me. I ate too many peanuts, and couldn't leave the zucchini bread alone. I am not stepping on the scales for a few days. I also got into the regular cheese because I was out of my LF stuff. BUT.....today I am back on track, and will be watching myself very close. I haven't had a loss for awhile, so I don't know what is happening again. I do know that I retain alot of water when we go to the lake. And that has been once a week lately.

Happy Birthday to all of you special people celebrating your birthdays this week!! :hb:

Zanne-- Way to go girl!! 5 pounds in one week is SUPER! You did a great job staying OP all week, congratulations are definitely in order!!

Monet-- Good morning!! Sounds like you will be busy on your day off.

Jack-k-- Sounds like you had a great weekend, and that you were in complete control. I on the other hand blew it yesterday....couldn't keep away from the zucchini bread. Darn that kid of mine for leaving some here. As for the bra's......I need the support, and the cup size is not sold in the regular stores. Alas.....I am hoping soon that I can be at regular sizes!!

Jec-- The puppy is adorable. I love them. I would have 100 of them if they would just stay puppies!!

Beach--Ouch....4000, that is alot of mooola. Your right though, he probably won't appreciate it until he is older. Great job on the weight loss. I am hanging right in there at 166 too. Sure do hope that I can get it moving down again soon. It has been awhile. Since we started going to the lake.....hmmmm.

Deb-- Sorry to hear of your car troubles again. Girl I think we need to buy you a horse, or something! Car don't seem to be your thing!! Way to go on getting that walk in, even though you didn't want to. You were right on the tube thing that they put in GM. It is a filter like devise that will keep anything from breaking off and getting to her lungs or heart. Thanks for the info.

Pancho-- Sounds like you enjoyed yourself. I think you will probably be okay.....drink lots of water. You have to remember that this is for LIFE....which means that we have to live every once in awhile.

Chrisd-- Welcome to sugar buster's!! This is a great board with fantastic people. You couldn't ask for a better support group! Hope to see you posting alot. Good luck on your weight loss journey. WTG on getting that exercise in this morning....it will get easier every day!!

Toni--Love the outdoors. We go to the lake as often as we can. Glad you had a good time. Everyone needs to relax, and have a good time.

Counry-- Hang in there babe....I know it can be frustrating. Do you think that maybe with all the exercise that you might not be eating enough?? You might want to think about it.

Hope you all have a great Monday.......and see you later!

I'm heading out to our job site and may not get back in time to post so thought I would catch up now.

Jecrites, cute puppy.

Beach, Congrats on the 30 lbs. You are doing great. That wt will come right back off in no time. Happy birthday to your DS tomorrow too. Girls and boys, now I know you are crazy. Like your MM. That is a great goal for the month. It should be beneficial in your wt loss efforts too. Gosh braces are like car payments. DD had them, but seems like they were cheaper than that.

Deb, seems like your car problems are never ending. Good for you getting out there and walking when you were tired.

Pancho, You don't get out much so I wouldn't worry about your binge. Just jump right back on track and you will be fine. Plus with you being under your goal, you just need to watch it so it doesn't get out of hand. Little splurges won't hurt you. Glad you had a good time. $19 for a manhattan? Hope it was great.

Chris, just think about the extra pounds you are losing b/c you are exercising. Do it daily and yu will start to love it. Try lifting some wts. I simply love wt training. You are right, you will feel much better when you finish. P.S> WTG on getting that exercise in. Tomorrow will be easier.

Toni, glad you had fun camping. Those drinks get me every time too. Oh well, today is new week. You will probably be fine.

Country, I know you are just waiting for me to catch up before you lose any more ;) Maybe by WIW I'll catch up :crossed: then we will go down together.

Teensy, Don't worry, you are probably retaining water. It will disappear soon. Hang in there.

Sure hope DH feels like getting back into our walking tonight. If not, I may go alone. I need it.

Have a great evening everyone.

I had to come on here!!! I'm craving chocolate and have been looking thru the cupboards!:cookie: :chockiss: I know I have some stale chocolate sandwich cookies and some chocolate chips for baking, but I'm staying away. Instead I'm brewing a chocolate flavored coffee. Hopefully that will do the trick.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL!!!! for your enthusiasm of my loss. Your support really means so much to me. I wish there was a magic word I could type in here so that you all would have great successes. I am still shocked by how much I lost.

JECRITES--cute puppy!

DEBELLI--I wasn't sure how to answer the survey. I'm not a sweets person, usually, but I don't crave breads and pastas either. My biggest/worst carb cravings are the salty junk food snacks. Chips, cheesies, popcorn.

Ok, coffee is brewed and I need to get back to my cleaning!

Thank you all again. You've really made my day!

Another quick post..... I had some time to kill and thought I would check up on the board. I haven't felt much like eating today. Lunch was a bowl of plain yogurt with Polaner all fruit and a hunk of french bread. (it was illegal...so it was a big cheat, I know...but it was fresh baked this morning and rather hard to resist)

DEB: I am making lasagna, salad, garlic bread, and I got Publix cupcakes and carrot cake for dessert. It has gone very well, and I actually had an hour to kill before I had to leave to bake and set things out at the fellowship hall.

Hope I can get on tonight and catch up with replies!

ZANNE....CONGRATS ON THE 5 LBS!!!! :bravo: You're doing GREAT!!! You need to pick up some LINDT 65 or 70% chocolate to have on hand...It's a life safer at times like this!

JACKIE...I swear I didn't even see anything about the CATS this weekend...Who did they play??

TEENSY...get yourself some BRAZIL NUTS...eat three and you'll be surprised how they take your appitiete away!!!

COUNTRY...I love stuffed peppers....not the peppers, but the flavor they add to the meatloaf...YUMMY!!!

JEC...your puppy is adorable!!! I love them at that age...they still have pick paws and puppy breath!!

CHRISD....WELCOME!!!! I thought about buying one of the GAZELLE'S, but didn't know if they really work or not...maybe I'll give them another look after reading your post about them!

TONI...Glad to hear that you had a good time on your camping trip! I just can't bring myself to sleep out among the bugs!!

PANCHO...your dinner sounds so heavenly! Glad you and DH had a good time...Sorry, I guess I missed that your Uncle died...

Thank you to all of you that welcomed me with open arms. Also, thanks to all for the excersise support. I am gonna make it this time thanks to you guys!

BOB - I cant say that I love the gazelle. I bought it after seeing the informercial with Tony Little. $350 later its sitting at my door. If I really had $350 to spend on an excersise machine it definitely wouldnt be the Gazelle. I just got caught up in the informercial and got sucked right in. I like it, but like I said it wouldnt be my choice of equip.

Good afternoon everyone; I thought I would come jump on and catch up before checking my e-bay auctions.

I got to the gym and got my entire workout in. My DD cries when I first leave her, but I guess it doesn't last long. She is playing when I go to get her at the end of my workout. She waddles (she just started walking a month ago) up to me with her arms open; it is too cute for words. I love to get my workout in, but I love to go get her afterwards too.

Toni: Sounds like you did pretty good while camping. Way to get on that TM and start the week off on a positive note.

Chrisd: Way to get that workout in; it always feels sooo good when you get it done and out of the way early.

jecrites: thanks for the info on posting a picture; did it take a long time to download?

Country: Hope you are right about the water weight. Stuffed peppers sound delicious; I will have to make those one of these nights. Do you use ground beef or turkey?

Teensy: Send some rain our way; we could definately use some. It has been so hot and dry here. Glad you got some needed rain. I agree with you, and am going to splurge once in a while. I know that I am the type person who won't let it get out of hand. I know what I did to get to where I am at, and what I need to do to stay here. A little fluctuation is going to happen. Thanks for the kind words.

Jack: I wouldn't pay $1 for a Manhattan; I think they taste like propane, but hubby likes them every once in awhile. Give me the simple things (beer or wine) and I'm just fine.

Well, I better get going and get some stuff done prior to dinner.

Take care everyone, and I will check in sometime tomorrow. I get to volunteer for the first 30 minutes in my DD's class tomorrow. I can't wait; it should be a lot of fun. I really want to get to know the kids in her class.

Hello to all my SB buddies….
Well… we are back in our house…. Weeeeeeeeew…. What a mess that was…. :dizzy: Thank God the maid agreed to come tomorrow… instead of Friday… EVERYTHING in the house is covered with a gritty white layer……. YUCK>>>>> I can’t stand to even be in here…. So, tomorrow DD and I are gonna spend yet another day … on the run. First to Dr. for 6 month check up (four shots + blood work for anemia) then to my parents to wait the maid out…… should be another fun day…. Hopefully DD will sleep most of the day.. Due to the shots - I usually keep her on regular Tylenol doses…!!!
I still have not gotten on a scale…. CAN’T FIND IT…… ha.ha.ha…. Guess it is still buried under something….. GOTTA FIND IT FOR WEDNESDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Gosh, I hate being away from the computer for soooooo long…. Dad works from home….. So, by the time his computer was available…. It was dinner/bath/story/bed time!!!!!! Then tooo pooped to get on!!!!!

HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY BABY!!!! TO MELF, LAURIEANNE AND SUUUUPERDAVE (love that name!!!) :dancer: (Mr. smily dancer is singing happy birthday .... you just can't hear him.....)

Hope I didn’t miss tooo much….
It looks like there are a few NEWBIES ON BOARD!!!!!!!!!! WELCOME TO YOU ALL!!! - I am a newbie too and let me tell you this board ROCKS!!!!!! Stay here and you will do much better on your eating…!!!!

Deb - Thanks for getting the board up and running…. I can’t imagine how much time you spend on this board…. YOU ARE AN ANGEL!!!! I am not sure….when you mentioned it… but I ALREADY HAVE A DI LONGHI TURBO JET STREAM CONVECTION OVEN…. (DUH) I was fan baking the PotPies for an hour!!!!!!!!!!!!! Just at a lower temp…. hahaha. Yea, it is a pretty big house… BUT, somehow… the three of us fill it up… We are building a new house (a bit bigger than we have now…) on 1800 acres in far north Texas. DH works for FIL in family business and FIL is transferring DH to be the ranch foreman!!!! WOOOO HOOOOOOO - NO MORE CITY LIFE!!!!!!!!!!! We are estatic!!!! OH, yea, almost forgot to thank you for the peanut butter flour info… is it really expensive??? I am so curious to try it…..

ZANNE - Wow. Sounds like you are doing great… so, it sounds like the first phase of SO B (ha.ha.ha… tried to shorten south beach and just realized what it stands for… if only there were . Inbetween the letters…) is the Atkins diet... What is phase 2??? Keep up the great work.

JACK-K - Congrats on a great OP weekend… and thru two parties to boot… YOU DESERVE A MEDAL OR SOMETHING!!!! - Give yourself a pat on the back!!! I envy you… you are so ahead of the game… you take your own chips to Mexican night out!!!!!! THAT IS SO AWSOME… If only I had half your planning abilities…….. If only!!!

JENN - What a pup… How could you not love that face……. Oh my gosh… I want one!!!! J Let those kids keep on eating…. That way it won’t be there for you!!! I hope I am not the kind of mom who doesn’t buy the kids any junk cause it will be too tempting for me…. Thank goodness DH is doing atkins cause he is a junk food-aholic…..

BEACH - thanks for the MM…. It really grounds you when you take a minute to think about that!!!!! We all need that every once in a while!!! THANK FOR SHARING!!!! Congrats on your scale #’s …. Sounds like you are doing awesome!!!! I have done ww in the past… and have considered trying to combine the two… but the thought of it keeps scaring me off…. (I think it is the fact that I have a 6 month old… and my mind is too tired to think… when it doesn’t absolutely have to….)

PANCHO - Don’t beat yourself up soo much…. So you went off P for two short days….. You have done so well… that I think you deserve a little cheat !!!! J Guess the hang over was a gentle reminder to you to not do it tooo often… funny how those things can get ya…. I thought of you today… I went to the local health food store… ready to stock up on L-cartinine tart rate… and Q-10 and the lady in there really knew her stuff…. But I would have spent $145.00 before I left the store and that was only for a month’s worth… I waited because I know myself… and don’t think I would have been able to keep it all strait (one of the bottles you were supposed to take 6 tabs with food… one you were supposed to take 2 with out food… etc….) and I got too much right now to try and keep all that straight…….. Dunno.. And I was so excited to try the cartinine…… maybe I will re-think….

CHRIS - hello… You are new since I have been away!!!!! Nice to meet you…. Look forward to getting to know you!!! I always wanted one of those Gazzellle…. You don’t like it…? Is it hard on your lower back?? That is the only thing that kept me from getting one…

TONI - Tell your DH bad DH bad DH……. But glad you enjoyed the drinks!!!!!

COUNTRY… Yummy stuffed peppers sound awesome.. Is the recipe on the board?? The weather has been fabulous here too….. Hope we are not getting too spoiled to be slapped in the face with 100’s again sometime soon……. Keep up the good walking… that scale will budge when you least expect it to!!!

TEENSY - today is a new day…. Just put the peanuts in the cupboard and get out the water bottle… drink drink drink it will flush out that retained water!!!!

MONET - what is your secret….? I don’t think I have had a day in my life (not even when I am sick) that I don’t feel like eating….. Well… OK maybe one day when I was Prego and queezy….. Good luck to you cooking for all those people~~~~~

BOB… You always - always make me lol…… You are so funny… I can just imagine your arse…. Dragging the pavement…. In a flinstones car - you know the one that they peddle with their feet…. ( don’t know why that image came to mind……) glad you had a fun and safe trip~~~~

OH, before I go…. I have a friend that is trying to talk me into taking ADVOCARE…. Have any of you guys or gals tried it or ever heard of it….? If so, I would love to hear anything that you know about it…. (it is supposed to be just a blend of vitamins and minerals…) for weightloss…..

Take care of yourselves…. And have a great evening!!!

Happy Birthday, Melf!!:hb: Sorry I'm late with it, first time I've had a chance to get on the computer all day.

I got my hair cut this evening. This girl I know did it for $10 and did a pretty good job. She cut 2" off the length and relayered it and showed me how to blow-dry it to make the layers pronounced. My head feels alot lighter. When she was cutting I about freaked:fr: - she snipped and I saw a 4" lock of hair fall in my lap. Thankfully, it was from the layers not the length. Anyway, went to the thrift store today- it seems to have become a Monday ritual for me. Got a pair of jeans for me for $1.50, a pair of khakis for Boogie for .25, a pair of jeans for Ashley for $2, and a pink turtleneck, new with tags, for $1- for Ashley. I went thru their winter stuff and Boogie can still wear most of his from last season. The only prob is that he needs a 2T in the length, but they literally fall off of him. He's about a 12 month in the waist. I was glad that I went thru his clothes yesterday. I was fixing to have to come up with the money to buy him some new tennis shoes or boots since Spunky chewed his sandals to pieces and he's about to outgrow his tennis shoes. Anyway, I found a pair that I had put up for him(and forgot). They are Sckecher's and I got them at a yard sale for $2- they look pratically new. Anyway, I did okay with my eating today. Only one starchy carb. But I had too much sodium and not enough water. Plus, I'm kicking myself in the arse for not exercising today. Promise I will do better tomorrow. Question- anyone on here lost alot of weight, but still feels like it will never be enough? That may sound stupid. But I've lost almost 90lbs. Gone from a size 24 to a 14 BUT I still feel so big and outta place at times. I swear I feel more self-conscious now than ever. I don't know what my prob is. My Mom tells me that I've done a huge accomplishment- I know that I have- but why don't I feel happy about it or think of it in that way? I told myself when I first starting losing weight that I would be happy to just be a size 14. Well here it is, and I'm not. I need to loose 2 more sizes. I'm just rambling on and not making much sense- ignore me. CTS- Ashley is feeling better although she says her stomach still hurts and Boogie still won't hardly eat anything, at least he's drinking. It's a really nasty virus/cold type thing that's going around. Tonight hubby went to bed early saying he felt nauseous. Man, I hope I don't get it. Oh, great- as I was typing that Boogie just started coughing badly- here we go again.

Back from the dinner meeting. It went pretty well. Everyone seemed to like it, and said so. The turn out was very light, since they did not get the word out due to computer and phone problems. I brought home a whole pan of lasagna, and put it in the freezer. I also had at least a third of a pan that I put in the fridge for my son to have for lunch.

I did fairly well at dinner. I did have a nice piece of lasagna, and ate a piece of the garlic bread, but I got naughty and ate a piece of carrot cake. I feel kind of yucky tonight, so I am blaming it on the white bread, and the cake. Back on the straight and narrow tomorrow! Oh, ugh! I have to work! I am NOT looking forward to it. I have so much to do! We are supposed to be celebrating my son in law's birthday tomorrow night. I need to go buy his birthday present, and fix the meal he requested. This week is turning into the week from H---! And I thought LAST week was bad!

Hope I can catch up tomorrow! I am going to crawl in between the sheets now and hope I can fall asleep real fast!

You make perfect sense to me. I've struggled with that issue a lot. I use to be a size 18-22 depending on the cut. And now I'm a 8-10 depending on the cut and I swore I would be so happy to be a 9. And I want so badly to get the last few pounds off and get down to a 7. I see pictures of when I was a size 3 and it kills me. Self image is a funny thing. What we accept for others is rarely what we accept for ourselves. I hope you find that place and weight that works for you. You have come a long way and are doing great.

Love,
Crystle

angehaley - Hi, nice to meet you too. Its not that I dont like the Gazelle, its just that it wouldnt be my top pick of equip. to buy! Its definitley low impact which is good. Thats one of the reasons I bought it. I had lower back surgery in 1995, and I havent had any problems with it yet! But then again, I havent been very consistant on it. So I guess I will answer that question on Friday! :)

Hey all-- just a quickie to post my fruits for the day.

.58 fat
22 carbs
3.49 fiber
.56 potein

4.2 oz apple= 64 calories

16.6 carbs
2.95 fiber

6 seedless grapes= 21.3 calories
.17 fat
5 carbs
.3 fiber
.19 protein

And a few replies--

Jack-k-- I know that eventually it will come off, but it was sure nice when I was losing a pound or two each week. I don't have that much to go, but would like to get it gone. I am sure you know the feeling. But thanks for the support.

Zanne-- Step away from the cookies!! I am sure the coffee will help out. You have done so well, I am sure you will nip this craving in the bud!!

Monet-- Dinner sounds great.....what time did you say?? Whoops looks like I missed it. Get some rest, and see you tomorrow.

BOB-- What is the deal with the Brazil nuts?? Is there something I have missed?

Chrisd-- I bought the Total Body Trainer, from Body by Jake. I love this little machine. It is a strength resistance machine. It's small and compact, works great and didn't cost an arm and a leg!!

Pancho-- Guess I am lucky.....I don't have to leave my babies when I work out. They just lay on the floor beside my machine, and give me lots of licks when I am done. My babies are two Bassethounds and a Shar Pei mix!! I would share this rain with you if I could. It is still coming down, not that I am complaining. It could do this for a week, and we still wouldn't be caught up.

Ange-- Sounds like you are excited to move to the country. We are out in the boonies in Eastern Washington state, and we love it. We just have an acre and a half, but it is plenty for us and the dogs, oh and I can't forget the kitty. Was good all day today, and I have had my water bottle with me all day!! I think the zucchini bread will be what causes the most damage. Darn that kid of mine!!

Heart-- I think we get a picture in our minds of what we look like heavy, and it never goes away. That mind set just stays with us. I am so surprised everytime I try on clothes, because I would swear that they are way too small for me, but they fit. I still consider myself huge too. My doctor said no more than 16 more pounds. But in my mind, I could stand to lose more than that. I totally agree with your Mom, YOU HAVE DONE A FANTASTIC JOB. We are all very proud of you. My future DIL told me.....don't fret about how far you have to go, be proud of how far you have come.

Good night all-----sweet dreams!

BIG news. DD Jodi's water broke at 6:30 am on my BD, so guess where I spent the day! Yeap, ALL day!

Well he was an hour late to be born on Granny's BD, but Thank God they are both ok. Winston Harlen arrived at 12:59am by the hardest. It was a rough delivery. The doc, nurse, & John were almost in the bed with her. Doc had to PULL him out. Shoulders would not pass. But God was merciful & all is well. I just got home. They gave Jodi something for pain as soon as possible & she was out. Will be there till Wed morning. Well MawMaw is tired & needs sleep. Got to go to work today. Tina is here for a few days, so she will maybe post an additional note. Will try to post pic in am after some sleep.

Deb asked me to let you all know that her computer has died :comp:

Doesn't know what is wrong, just has a black screen. So she is taking it to a friend of Michael's today. Doesn't know how long she will be without one and away from the board.

Happy Tuesday,

Well happy to report that I got my 3 mile walk in last night. Then my workout completed. After Dh left to go to Monday night football with the guys I got down on the floor and finished my floor exercises. I was prowling the cabinets for a sncak, but there is nothing in the house to eat, so I had about 10 pepperonis and let that satisfy me.

DD called and wants to join a sorority. I am totally against it, mostly b/c of the money involved. But I am not paying, she is. I tried to explain my position, but I think she hung up mad at me. Oh well, she'll get over it. But I think it ruined my appetite. Good thing, it could have been the other way.

Deb said she would try to get on if Michael's laptop was available. Hope she hasn't lost all her files.

Superdave & LaurieAnn, HAVE A GREAT BIRTHDAY. :gift: :balloons: :hat: :hb: Enjoy your day!

Zanne, something has really "clicked" this tme and you are doing so go. Your enthusiasm (sp) is contagious. Keep up the good work.

Monet, soemthing must be in the air. I didn't feel like eating much yesterday either. Whyd oes it always seem like the weeks you have lots to do, everything goes wrong. Hope today is better for you.

Bob, I'm with you, flying is the only way to go. Heck I would fly to work if I could. The CATS didn't play anyone important, Murray State. Div 1 school. They won big, but played a pitiful game. 126 yards rushing. None of their games are televised. Not even in Lou. They are all on delayed at 11:30. Go figure.

Pancho, that is the cutest age, just when they start walking. That brings back lots of memories.

Angehaley, glad you are back in your own home. that is such a good feeling. When we moved out from my dad's we slept on the floor in the closet of our new house just to get in there.

Heart, man you are getting those bargains. I feel the same way you do. After 100+ I still see fat when I look in the mirror, But of course there is still lots of fat there. I thought I would be happy at a 10. Now that I can wear some 8's I want to get down to a good 8 and maybe 6. I set my goal at 145, but I'm thinking (if I ever get there), I want to get to 140 or 135. I guess we are never satisfied. But you have accomplished a lot and you should be proud of yourself. Hope the kids and DH feel better. Hope you don't get it.

Teensy, Your DIL 2B is right. You should be proud of how far you have come. We always want more. Maybe we should heed Beachfan's MM yesterday to be content with what we have.

Melf, Congrats on your new GS. Glad everyone is great. Can't wait to see the pics.

Have a great OP day. Hope to be back later.

Hi everyone.

I am so tired. It's probably due to lack of sleep. Hubby keeps Biscuit in our room at night and puts his dang squeeky toy in the bed with him and the silly pup keeps squeeking it all night long. It's so annoying. I'm gonna have to make him stop putting that thing in there so I can sleep. I swear I wasn't up near as much at night when the kids were babies.

Just a few replies and then I have to find something to eat. Haven't had breakfast yet and my tummy is letting me know. I guess getting up early to get the girls off to school has helped me to get back on track eating breakfast.

Pancho, No not really. I have a digital camera that stores the pictures on a floppy, and all I have to do is pop it in the puter and save it to the puter.

Ange, If it were up to me you could have this one. He's gotten used to being here now and has become a pain in the rear. Of course he's hubby's dog but I get stuck with dealing with him. I get the kids a few things but it's mostly for their school lunches. I hardly ever buy junk food just for the house anymore, I end up eating most of it and we all know how that ends up.

Melf, Congrats on the new baby!!! My SIL had that same thing happen to her with her second baby, he got stuck at the shoulders and the doc was pulling for all he was worth. Now the kid is 5 and built like a football player.

Jack-k, Oh no. Our computer did that right before we moved up here last year and it was the motherboard. We got a new one because it would have cost nearly as much to replace that as it did for the new puter

Ok, now off to the kitchen. Talk to y'all later.

Good Tuesday Morning!

Do or die, I knew i was going to find a way to get on this computer today! I'm on the laptop and though it took me a while to get it set-up and working I did it. It's hard to type on this thing though-you know I always ***** about it!

I was at a meeting last night when MICHAEL called me to tell me something was wrong with the computer-could only get a black screen. When I got home, surenuf, an error message, click on okay, get another message, then a black screen. I called HP and found this has happened to many people and is a problem with Microsoft. Anyhow, they are sending some disk that's suppose to fix the problem, which should arrive tomorrow. Was going to take it to MICHAEL'S friend who's a computer wiz but I'll just wait and see what transpires tomorrow before I unhook everything, which is a worse pain than setting up the laptop.

Already got in my 4.5 miles. It's actually a gorgeous morning here today, not too hot and hardly a cloud in the sky. Of course, being FL, that can change in a split second.

I did have a TUESDAY TIP but unfortunately, it's on the other computer:(

I went back to the tire store, had to get a new tire. Seems when I got the patch the guy didn't check the tire and the nail that was so long punctured the side of the tire as well which is not fixable. Really sucks because that tire was like brand new. I am NOT going to pay for that patch and will dispute it on my bill. I swear, it's always something!!!!

Anyhow, I'm going to try to get in some replies before I really get fed up with this computer...

PANCHO, sounds like you REALLY enjoyed yourself Sat. That's actually not so bad, it's not something you do often if at all and you should be able to enjoy yourself as such once in a blue moon. As for that lady at the gym that's a size 2 and 117 being preg. - you should of ***** slapped her-gosh, how can some people be so darn lucky????

CHRIS, you had me laughing when I read you think of me with everything you put in your mouth - dirty thought, terrible mind:s: Please not EVERYTHING! CONGRATS on getting in your exercise - you'll find that once you get in to the routine you'll start to enjoy it most days-others not so much, but that happens to us all. Just think how lucky:?: we are here in FL that we don't have to worry about working out in the snow! We can exercise just about 365 days a year!! Oye, the thought!

JEC, would love to see a picture of the little demons. Just think, they'll one day grow up to be big deamons!!

COUNTRY, you are just doing so awesome in the walking dept - you def. earn a prize for the most miles logged last month! I'm trying but no cigar for me;)

TEENSY, now you see why I can't make a zucchini cake - I'd eat it all right away - I'm better to not have it in the house, at least right now. I did buy some cream cheese a while back that's going to expire soon and LAUREN has been asking for me to make my cheesecake with it. I know what will happen, it's a given that I'll eat way too much. What I may do is make it and eat a piece, save a piece and make her take the rest to school. Only good think is that thankfully, it's not a big cake! Horse doesn't sound too bad, problem is, the way I deal with food, the poor thing would probably starve to death!

JACKK, first off, thanks for getting the word out to the board for me about my computer woes. It was also nice to talk to you as well:)

ZANNE, I think chips and popcorn fall under the carbs, one is from potatoes, the other corn:shrug: Hope you curbed that chocoalte craving! Hey, ummm, wouldn't that make you a sweet craver?

MONET glad to hear your dinner went well and everyone liked it. Sounded like you were making some yummy food! Why didn't you feel like eating yesterday?

BOB, can you imagine us Amish? Heck no, forget about the horse and buggy, if I have to live without A/C, I'm not going!!!! Haven't gotten a nuker yet, going to shop around a bit this week and compare. Hope you all get rested up soon! I fixed your color for you;)

ANGE, glad to hear you are back in the house, Im sure it's a big todo. Is the jet oven you have have a glass housing? I've seen some that do which I don't like, get's too hot and can burn you-the jet stream I have is plastic - can't live without it! My gosh girl, you are going to need a Merry Maids team to clean your new home - how big is it going to be? The PBFLOUR is not expensive at all and will last forever, but like I said, if you want, I can send you some in a bag to try before you buy to see if you like it.

HEART, sounds like you bargain hunted again yesterday! Good prices. I think I found that when I got to goal and then even below, it was enough, I achieved what I wanted and then some. What I found was after all that I had done, worked for, etc. I wasn't happy, and unfortunately, still not because the body didn't match what I thought it should in regards to the weight. I still can't wear things I want even though I was tiny weight-wise. I need to call EXTREME MAKE-OVER!!

MELF, CONGRATS on the new grandson!!!:spin: Little booger decided he didn't want to share his birthday I guess. Hope LORI is doing well today. Can't wait to see a picture of the newest family member. Does the hospital have it where you can see the pics they take of the baby on line? If so, you'll have to give us the link. Hope you get some rest. Keep us informed!!!

WOW, I actually am caught up! Well, it's time for me to go see what I want to eat - it's brunch so not sure which way to go-breakfast or lunch - hankering for my pot pie, so may wait a bit.

Will try to check in later!

Well good morning everyone!! Still at 125# this morning; oh well.

I am going to be volunteering in my DD's class this morning; it should be fun.

I am soooo ticked off. I had a bid in on e-bay for 6 pair of docker pants (starting bid $12.99; I had a maximum bid in of $15.26). I was the only bidder for the entire time, until the last 30 seconds, and then someone swooped in and outbid me. So someone got the pants for $15.55. I really wanted them to. Oh well, I'll get over it, I guess (ha).

angehaley: Welcome back home. I hope all is in good order soon. You can order the Carnitine Tartrate from iherb.com for an awesome price. It is the Jarrows brand, which is an awesome product. It will cost you $26.00 for 100 capsules (500mg). You can get 4/$100....the more you buy, the more you save. Also, as a new customer, you save 10%. As a return customer, you save 6%, and if you buy enough (I think $60 worth, you get free shipping). I would start with 4 500mg Carnitine per day (2 before breakfast, and 2 before lunch), and give it a shot before upping it anymore. I have always just taken 100mg of CoQ10 per day. As far as the Advocare...I haven't heard of it, but all I can say is research it! I always research the heck outta anything before taking it.

heartmom: Amen to what Country said. I can understand where you are coming from. As you know, I set my weight loss goal high thinking I'd never get there, but I perservered and ended up getting below goal. THERE IS NOTHING WRONG WITH WANTING MORE, MORE, MORE....that is how people succeed. ON THE OTHER HAND, don't beat yourself up, you have accomplished in a short amount of time what some people don't accomplish in a lifetime. You have done so well!!! You will lose more because you know how it is done, and that you can lose it! Be patient with yourself, and try to love yourself now....YOU are a work in progress; don't wait until you are where you think you should be to love yourself. You are beautiful today.

Melf: Congrats on your new grandson. He is precious!!

jecrites: Get rid of that darn squeeky toy, and replace it with your husband's hand (ha). Maybe a rawhide bone or something will keep him entertained.

Deb: Glad to see you made it onto the board this morning. Great job getting that walk in!!! Yeah, I know...117 when pregnant. I almost topped out at 200 my first pregnancy, and was near 175 my second. Can't even imagine it. But it was a real problem for her, and I guess if you are that small all your life and get up to 142, it could be traumatic. I was at 152, and am 4 inches taller than she is, and felt really gross. I hope you get your computer problem worked out soon. We love to have you around.

Well...I'm going to go check into a service called Golden Grandmas to see if they would even come out to my area (I live in a rural area outside of the valley). My hubby and I have our 10 year anniversary coming up in November, and would like to get out for a nice quiet dinner together. NO, not a night out like last weekend, but just a nice dinner somewhere other than home.

Tomorrow, I am going to hit a re-sale shop in the area to see what kinds of things they have; I've never been there before, and always like to browse....kinda like garage sales without all the driving.

Have a great day. I will try to check in after school!

Good afternoon to all! I got my workout in, but not as good as yesterday. I did get my 15 min on the Gazelle..but I couldnt do any sit ups or push ups. My arms, chest and stomach are in a lot of pain from yesterday. maybe I will try and do them tonight..if not I will do it in the morning. I am toooooo achy right now!

Deb- well, thanks for pointing that out to me. Ya know, when i re-read it after posting I was laughing my butt off, (dirty mind too) but hoping nobody would catch it. Sure enough you did. Well I have to say I did say everything, but I didnt mean EVERYTHING!:o Glad to see you were able to get on the laptop. Thanks for calling last night to let me know! You're the BEST...but I dont have to tell you that!;)

Melf - congrats on your new grandson!

Teensybean - Where did you buy that total body trainer? I saw the commercials for it. Do you have to buy it from TV or can you get it in a store?

Have a good day!

Good late morning everyone. Had to rest lots yesterday and probably will today. Any trip puts me down for a few days. (Shame shame on heart disease) But I'm slowly getting things back to normal and will probably finish washing all the blankets and beding today. Tomorrow I go for blood work. I'm sure hopeing that being on SB has brought my cholesterol down. It usually does.

chris- Glad to see you're exerciseing. Don't know what the gazelle is but if you can ride it, its got to help!!!!! You can do this gal!!! One day at a time.

Pancho- Your DD sounds so adorable. I'd have done lots better on that camp trip if I would have stayed away from the beer and wine.. LOL.... I just won my last thing on e-bay and going to try to stay off of there for awhile...

angehaley- Glad you've got your house back. And I'm sure the maid will whip it into shape by the end of the day. How long will it be till you get to move? I guess it will take a long time to build a new house.

heartmom- Sorry everyone is down with the virus at your house. It sounds like a really nasty one. You have done so good with your weight and maybe you just need to get down a couple more sizes and it will be good for you. You're sure finding the deals at the Thrift store. Wish there was a good one near us..

Monet- Guess you're busy busy. I hope the dinner turns out well for your son in law and you don't work to hard... Lasagna sounds so good. And shame shame on that carrot cake... LOL..

Country Mom- You've done so good with your weight to and ought to give yourself a real pat on the back.

Teensybean- Howdy gal looks like you're doing fine...

Melf- A great big congradulations on the new grandson. Sorry your daughter had such a hard time but that all is fine.

Jack-K- Wow you did good, with the walking and floor exercises... And to stop at the pepperoni. Even though you had the dreaded phone call when your kids are mad....

jecrites-Yep I'd get that squeeky toy out of there and maybe replace it with a little raw hide bone or something. Dogs can sure be like kids. I know ours are. We have a boston terrier and him and DH snore together...

Debilli- I'm so glad you got on the laptop. Sometimes computers can be such a pain!!! Hope your gets fixed soon. We have a laptop and I don't care for it...

Well off to do a little house work. Still washing blankets............................ Have a great day....

Pancho- Guess we were posting at the same time. I hate when that happens on e-bay. It makes me sooo mad.

OK I'm off to our other site and yesterday I didn't get back to the office so I am going to post now to catch up.

Tummy is upset all of a sudden. I have some tuna for lunch, but don't think that is a good idea right now. I think I wills top and get some tomato soup.

My fruit today was 1/2 grapefruit, I was going tohave an apple for lunch, but think I'll pass.

Yesterday, I had an apple and applesauce for dinner.

Jecrites, I would definately not put that toy in the dog's bed. Get him soemthing that doesn't make noise.

Deb, Sure hope that disc fixes your :comp: I really don't think you should have to pay for that patch. The guy should have checked it first. Glad you got the laptop to work.

Melf, what a precious angel. How much does he weigh?

Pancho, don't you have any close neighbors or friends or family that could watch your kids while you go to dinner? That does sound like a cute organization though. I think people wait untilt he last second to bid on stuff on Ebay. I sure hate all that back and forth.

Chris, soak in a warm tub of water to help those achy muscles. You are supposed to let the muscle rest 48 hours before working it again. That's why I do a different body part each day.

Toni, get some rest and don't push yourself too hard. Good luck on the bloodwork.

Have a great day.

Hello again everyone.

When hubby came home for lunch, I informed him that tonight that pup doesn't get that squeeky toy in his bed. I told him that he needs to get him a big chewy bone for in the bed at night. Hopefully that took care of it, I'll know after he puts the pup to bed tonight, and if that dang toy is in there with him, I'm taking it out!

Melf, How cute! I'm a sucker for babies. Don't want any more of my own though. I'm waiting on my brother and his wife to have one so I can spoil him/her and then send it home! I sometimes wish I could shrink mine back to when they were that age, they were a bit easier to deal with, no back talking or getting into stuff they have no business in.

Ok, I may try to get in a nap, if I can get Autumn to go to sleep too. I'll talk to y'all later.

DEB- I knew you would find a computer somewhere! Hehehe..

MELF- Is this your 1st grandchild? Babies are so cute when they are swaddled up.

Thanks guys, for all the encouraging words. I know in my head what all you said is true, but I just don't feel it. I go thru these spells when I feel icky about myself, then I'll have a day where I say, you know I don't look half bad, lol. Anyway, Boogie woke up asking for food, for the first time in days. I gave him a Little Debbie snackcake for breakfast. Yes, I know it's not nutritous. But he needed the fat and sugar. He's down 3/4 a pound. The sugar must have stimulated his appetite, which is what I was hoping. He just got thru with lunch, a salad with cheese, bacon bits, and Ranch dressing. The kid loves salads. This is the most he's eaten in days. So hopefully he's on the mend-just gotta keep an eye on his cough(been known to turn into pneumonia). Ashley was feeling better and went to school. Hubby said he feels better. Hopefully, this will be the end of the virus thingy at the Garrett household. I exercised today! Man, it's been since last Thursday, and I can tell ya, I notice the difference. My endurance sucked. I did the 3 mile tape and thought I was going to pass out. This is my vow to not go longer than 2 days w/o exercising. I was so thankful when I was thru. I looked a site..beet-red face and covered in sweat. This morning I had a dozen big grapes with my yogurt and also had 1/2 cup of Uncle Sam's cereal. I ate a ham and cream cheese rollup for a snack. I'm debating on lunch. I think I might fry some cabbage with hamburger meat, or maybe have a cheeseburger and salad. I have a roast in the crockpot for tonight. Going to fix some greens and butterbeans/peas with it.

Hey All:wave:

I haven't done a blessed thing all day. I'm pooped and want to climb in to bed, which I just may do for a while. Last night I feel asleep on the couch I was so tired, something I haven't done in well over a year I think. I was hungry all day too, then finally ate some eggplant that ELI made the other day and all of a sudden I start feeling full then barfy, how exciting.

Went to Publix, a new one not far from me, about 2-3 miles and found that that's where they are building the CURVES. I went by the JCC and picked up a membership form and going to apply for a reduced rate since I have no income, hopefully they'll give it to me.

Gonna hop in within some relpies before I get too far behind and someone comes home and asks for the computer...

MELF, so happy to see the picture - those look like suckable cheeks! Keep us informed of the latest.

PANCHO, I hate those who bid at the last second, but have to admit I do it to at times. I'm waiting for a reply on a bed ensemble that I saw. I found an old add with it in there was $279.00 - right now it's at $27.99. MICHAEL really needs some new covers, and these would be right up his alley. I mostly buy books on Ebay-cookbooks - and I don't cook - they're all bought with the boards interest:) Hope you find a good GOLDEN GRAMA to come so you and DH can have another night out, one to celebrate:)

CHRIS, good job on the exercise today-something is better than nothing so give your self a round of applause:cp: :bravo: I haven't had a chance to look at your journal but promise to do so tomorrow, please forgive;) Pumpkin and sunflower seeds and now a dirty mind too - geez, we could be twins!! Oh gosh, don't tell me I'm the best, if this is the best, we're in BIG trouble!!!!!;) THANKS!

TONI, I hope all goes well at the Dr. tomorrow, let us know! Rest up!!!

JACKK, I haven't had grapefruit in a long time. I love them but try to go for fruits that have more fiber. If you come across an apple called a PACIFIC ROSE, try one if you haven't, found some the other day and they were awesome!

JEC, AUTUMN is adorable! What a blondie! Can't wait to see the other ones. Have DH take a picture of you to post as well!!!!

HEART, glad to hear the kids are feeling better and BOOGIE is wanting to eat. As long as you exercised, that's what's important. Your endurance isn't the only one suffering, me too. After not walking/jogging all summer it's hard enough for me to just walk, forget about the jogging! As long as I get out, the endurance will come in time.

BOB, what the heck is wrong with you girl! Geez, would you just feel better already! Yep, it's the new computer - just my luck!

Well, going to watch some TV and probably do a movie during the news. I got SIMONE from the library to watch.

Will try to check back in when I can.

Deb, hope yu are not getting sick too. I ususally eat Fuji apples as they are so sweet. Get some rest.

Want to thank you all that wished me a happy birthday,.I am not use to such nice people that are on this board.
Melf that sure is a cute grandbaby, do not be like me and spoil it rotten. my grand kids cost me twice as much as my kids did.
Angelhaley: On Advocare, I use to sell it and the products are good but I feel awful expenseive. I took them for 3 months and did not see a difference, especially for the price.H

Happy Birthday to this weeks list, I am so tired worked until 10PM and got home about 11pm, and I have 2 appointments tonight so I will have to make this short.

We just got back from town. Crazy mom that I am just opened a checking account with my sixteen year old...agh...LOL It's her money and she is going to college in less than a year so at least this way she will be prepared a little more.

We had a wonderful walk this morning. It was still pretty cool. This evening is going to be a lot warmer but not as bad as a couple weeks ago. They say another cool front is coming through on Friday. I can hardly wait.

The peppers I made the other night were not the normal stuffed bell peppers we normally eat...those are filled with a hamburger and brown rice mix. These were Chili Rellenos. I stuffed them with hamburger and mozerella cheese...then coated with egg whites that had been whipped and fried them. I ate the last one after my walk last night with some guacamole. Way to late to eat but this gal was starvin' like Marvin.

Melf...what a little cutie! And the baby aint half bad either. :)

Deb...sorry that your computer is on the fritz I know that's a pain in the katokie. BJ's (my oldest) his computer is down and we've been waiting to see if I had enough on my card to get him the disc to fix it. He lost the disk that come with the computer.

Bob....praying that you feel better soon.

Heartmom....glad boogie is starting to feel better. His salad made me hungry.

Jenn...what a sweetie. All that beautiful blonde hair. Your cat is georgous. I love cats.

Toni...hope you are feeling more rested this afternoon.

ChrisD...wtg on the exercise. You have a right to be sore after all that exercise yesterday. Today can be your recovery day.

Pancho...I've lost a bid or two in the last seconds before...makes ya wanna scream.

Howdy to everybody else also....hope you are having a fantastic day.

Love and hugs,

DEB...that computer is STILL UNDER WARRANTY!!!! TAKE IT BACK!!! Don't be fooling around with someone else until you do that! DON'T MAKE ME COME DOWN THERE!!! :nono:

COUNTRY...thanks for the prayers...I need them....for EVERYTHING!

DAVE...Do you work for a drug company? Don't let yourself get run down, it's not good for your weight loss!

JACKIE...When I lived in Lexington, they preempted EVERYTHING for the CATS and being a TENNESSEE FAN, it used to make me so made...they finally got so many complaints that the cable company put a wild card channel in and the station carrying the games had to put the regular programing on that...

BIG BROTHER 4 ON TONIGHT!!!! DON'T MISS IT....WE'RE DOWN TO THE WIRE!!!

I'm off...thinking about climbing up in the four poster and watching TV....

BOB- Glad to see you are a BB4 fan! :) 15 more days!

Deb - Dont worry about fitday..its not that important. Get some rest.

Jack-k - I am definitely resting muscles today and will do more tomorrow. I cant even lift my arms over my head today.

Countrymom - thanks for making me feel like its ok to rest! :)

I got this in the email today, and thought y'all would enjoy it!
Just so happens that the man's name is BOB.....no relation!!

WORDS OF WISDOM BY BOB ~~

It is important for men to remember that as women grow older it becomes harder for them to maintain the same quality of housekeeping as they did
when they were younger. When men notice this, they should try not to yell.
Let me relate how I handle the situation:
When I got laid off from my consulting job and took "early retirement" in January, it became necessary for Helen to get a full-time job, both for
extra income and for health benefits that we need. She was a trained medical transcriptionist when we met twenty-eight years ago, and was
fortunate to land a job at a local transcription house. It was shortly after she started working at this job that I noticed that she was beginning
to show her age.
I usually get home from fishing or hunting about the same time she home from work. Although she knows how hungry I am, she almost always says that
she has to rest for half an hour or so supper. I try not to yell at her when this happens. Instead, I tell her to take her time. I understand that she is not as young as she used to be. I just tell her to wake me when she finally does get supper on the table.

She used to wash and dry the dishes as soon as we finished eating. It is now not unusual for them to sit on the table for several hours after supper. I do what I can by reminding her several times each evening they aren't cleaning themselves. I know she appreciates this, as it seems to help her get them done before she goes to bed.
Our washer and dryer are in the basement. When she was younger, Helen used to be able to go up and down stairs all day and not get tired. Now
that she is older, she seems to get tired so much more quickly. Sometimes, she says she just can't make another trip down those steps. I don't make a big issue of this. As long as she finishes up the laundry the next evening, I am willing to overlook it. If I need something ironed to go to the Monday lodge meeting or to Wednesday or Saturday poker club or to Tuesday or Thursday bowling or something like that, I will tell her to wait until the next evening to do the ironing. This gives her a little more time to do some of those odds-and-ends things like shampooing the dog, vacuuming,
or dusting. Also, if I have had a really good day fishing, this allows her to gut the fish at a more leisurely pace.
Helen is starting to complain a little occasionally. Not often, mind you, but just enough for me to notice. For example, she will say that it is
difficult for her to find time to pay the monthly bills during her lunch hour. In spite of her complaining, I continue to try to offer encouragement. I tell her to stretch it out over two or even three days.
That way she won't have to rush so much. I also remind her that missing lunch completely now and then wouldn't hurt her any, if you know what I mean.
When doing simple jobs, she seems to think she needs more rest periods than she used to have to take. A couple of weeks ago she said she had
to take a break when she was only half finished mowing the yard. I overlook comments like these because I realize it's just age talking. In
fact, I try not to embarrass her when she needs these little extra rest breaks. I I tell her to fix herself a nice big, cold glass of freshly-squeezed lemonade, and just sit for a while. I even offer to have one with her, as she may as well make one for me too, and take her break by the hammock so she can talk with me until I fall asleep.
I could go on and on, but I think you know where I'm coming from. I know I probably look like a saint in the way I support Helen on a daily basis.
I'm not saying that the ability to show this much consideration is easy. Many men will find it difficult; some will find it impossible.
No one knows better than I do how frustrating women can become as they get
older. My purpose in writing this is simply to suggest you make the effort. Achieving the exemplary level of consideration I have attained is
out of reach for the average man. However, guys, even if you just yell at your wife a little less often because of this article, I will consider that writing it was worthwhile.

BOB

(Editor's note: Bob's funeral was on Saturday. Helen was acquitted
Monday.)

Good afternoon:

I had a ball volunteering in my DD's class today. They were able to play on the playground for longer than usual this morning since the weather was beautiful. We had an early morning rain that cooled things off a bit.

I lost another bid on e-bay; I guess this is my incentive to stay away for awhile.

Chrisd: Maybe you should take a break, and only do the sit-up/pull-ups every other day or so; your muscles need time to rest. Also, maybe take a warm bath with some epsom salt.

Toni: That beer and wine is what did me in too. The problem with me, and a lot of people is that once you drink, you want to eat. I ate so much because of the alcohol. Those people that wait until the last seconds to bid on e-bay really piss me off. Not sure how they do it either; I had enough in there to play with, but they must have placed a much higher maximum bid, knowing it would top off lower.

Jack: We only have one neighbor, as we are out in a rural area, and they are older and have raised their children. They would not be interested in watching little ones. As I said to Toni, those last minute bidders really piss me off! I'm a cry-baby because I really wanted those things!

Jecrites: Way to let your hubby know what's up, and get that chew bone in that bed for puppy. Autumn is adorable!

Deb: Good luck getting that bed ensemble; hopefully some jerk won't come outbid you in the last 1/8th of a second (ha).

Country: You sound like an awesome creative cook. I think you should start posting your dinners a few times a week, so we can try some of the recipes. I need to plan ahead better and start tying some new things. My intentions are always good, but then time gets away from me, and before you know it, I forgot to take something out for dinner and I am scrounging around trying to find something.

Well, I am going to go thrift-shopping for a bit tomorrow, since heartmom always talks about it and got me in the mood. I'll let you know if I find anything worth talking about.

I just finished off one of my new favorite treats. I have been taking about 6-7 ounces of skim milk, a few ice cubes and 1/2 - 3/4 cup of frozen mixed berries (raspberries, blackberries, blueberries...) and throwing them in a blender with a squirt of stevia liquid, and mixing it all up. YUM, YUM! My blender really stinks though; doesn't crush the ice up good. I'm going to ask my hubby for a good blender for Christmas. I think at one point, a cuisinart was recommended on here. Any other suggestions?

Well, better run and figure out what's for dinner!

Take care!

Good EVENING to all….We are finally back home…. OH WHAT A RELIEF… THE HOUSE IS SPOTLESS….AND SMELLS ALL FRESH AND CLEAN!!!! Don’t know what I would do without Yoli (the cleaning lady…) *** My husband spoils me… but I have a bad feeling that she is not gonna want to drive and hour & ten minutes to clean the new house…… oooooooohhhhhhhh nnnnnnnnnnooooooo!!!!
DD is doing well…. Other than the huge knot in her leg…ARG… I really wish you could request a certain nurse for shots… cause some of them are angels….. And some of them are the devil!!!!!!

HEARTMOM - One thing that I learned while planning for my wedding….. Was the phrase “THIS TO SHALL PASS”…….. That is what you need to keep in mind when you are feeling down about yourself…. You have done what some can only dream of….. Keep up the good work .. And remember that we all get down now and then… Hope that you are back to yourself soon… Take care of that pretty little head.. And keep on truck’n!! Glad to hear that the family is starting to feel better… woo hoo for you warding it off!

MELF - Congrats to you and the family!!!! What a beautiful addition!!!! THOSE CHEEKS LOOK LIKE THEY ARE FULL OF SOMETHING THAT HE IS SAVING FOR LATER…. LIKE A CHIPMONK…SOOOOOO CUTE. He is sure to keep you occupied for many - many days to come!!!! J

JACK-K - Don’t let your disagreement with your daughter get to you…. Your opinion means a lot to her… that is why she wanted to run it by you…. Remember… which ever decision she makes… it will not be the end of the world. I was not in a sorority…but, they can have a positive side.… (the connections that they may lead to once in the real world…..for jobs and the such & hopefully lifelong friendships..) Hope your belly ache went away….

JENN - What a doll your little Autumn is!! She is sure to be a heart breaker!!!! I am not really a cat person, but he is sure cute…. Looks so laid back in the face… but those back feet tell a different story…!

DEB - Bless your heart… with all the woe’s lately… the car, the computer, your little piggy that went wee wee wee all the way home (uhm, remember I have a 6 month old…) ALL WILL BE BETTER SOON… I am not sure we are talking about the same thing with ovens… Mine is like a toaster oven with a fan in it to blow the hot air all around the food….are we talking the same thing>>>>? The plans for the house right now are 5200 sq ft.. but we keep changing it…. (one reason the house seems so big is we have to have a huge room for the oversized pool table that we have) then you add master, living, two kids rooms and guest room and kitchen… and all the sudden you have 5200 sq ft…. Oui Vei (you get my drift, even though I don’t know how to spell that!!!!) I would love for you to send some pb flour.. But don’t want to put you out… I will send you some $$$$ for it.. And the shipping!!!! I will e-mail you!!!

PANCHO - How did your volunteering go at DD school… I thought of you this weekend… while I was bidding for something on e-bay (mattel football game for DH for b-day next week.. From his daughter) it was my first time on there… and I was lost…I don’t know how in the world anyone ever wins those silly auctions…. I think I bid on four different ones… before I HAD TO HIT THE BUY IT NOW…. BUTTON!!~ I say if you can’ t beat them……… JOIN THEM!!! Start doing the same thing… and out bidding them at the last second…!!!! Thanks for the info on I-herb.com.. I am gonna check it out… my friend is bringing me a box of Advocare for me to try for free… I am gonna check with Superdave.. He used to sell the stuff… didn’t sound like he was too impressed with the stuff…. So, will see….

CHRIS- Keep up the good work on the gazelle… and you will look like a lean mean fighting gazelle before you know it!!!!

TONI - get your rest and good luck with the blood work tomorrow…We will probably be moving before the year is out… DH wants to be there while they build the house… to stay on top of things.. There is a log cabin that is already on the place… so we will be residing there for a while til the house is done!!!!

BOB - AKA FRED! What in the world is wrong with you…. You aren’t Prego are you>>>> Hope you get your rest…and feel better!!

SUUUUUUPERDAVE - I saw you on the bio board… we are neighbors!!!! I am in dallas… So, now I have a million and one q’s for you about advocare…. Besides the cost.. What did you think??? Which one did you take? Did it curb your appetite?? What did you have to do to become a distributor? My friend is bringing me a box of the platinum tomorrow for me to try… she is an ity bitty thing…. Maybe 5 foot and 95 lbs…. But last time I saw her she was probably 110, still not big at all… but her dad told her she was getting chuby and it pissed her off….. So, she started taking the stuff and poof….. 15 lbs…. All gone…. Worth a try… I think it is all natural… I must do my homework.. She is a distributor, and gets it for her friends at cost… how much is that do you know??? Thought I might become a distributor…. Depending on what is involved…. Just cause I have so many friends that are already interested in it…..!!!! So we will see!!!
P.S…. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!!!!

COUNTRY - I too am waiting for the second cool front!!!! I saw the forcast for the weekend… they say Sunday the high is 79!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wooooow….. Hope they are not wrong on that one!!!! Keep up the good work on the walking!!!!!

Take care all of you ... and have a great evening.. what is left of it...

Monet is checkin' in! Its been a busy day. I am dog tired. No, double dog tired! Tomorrow promises to be another wild day!

Today, I worked. After work, I had to pick up a few items for dinner, then rushed home to change clothes. I headed out to meet two old co-workers for lunch. It was great to see them, and catch up some. They are on the staff of my old church, so in some ways it is ackward, but it was ok. After lunch, (which by the way, was Chinese, and I did not eat any rice, just the entree, soup and an egg roll), I headed over to Petsmart to get my son in law a birthday present. I got the wrong thing, but he can take it back and exchange it. He was pleased that I got something that costed more than what he actually wanted, so he can get some other supplies. He has a slider turtle and maintains a wonderful eco-system turtle tank for it. I got him some filter thing for it, but he has lots of stuff he wants. After the trip to Petsmart, I was right next to Shoe Carnival, so I walked over and found a new pair of shoes for work. I needed them really badly! I came home and had only a bit of time to chill before I had to start cooking. Dinner is over, and went ok. I did eat one corn tortilla, but that was the extent of my no nos. Everyone left right after dinner, and I had to spend some time cleaning up. Tom helped, which was lovely.

Tomorrow, I have to work, then shop for the class I am teaching starting Thursday. (cake decorating to my husbands bosses wives!) After that, I have to go for a massage appointment, then head out to Borders Books to hear Phillip Yancey speak.

MELF: Congrats on the new grandbaby! What a sweetie!

PANCHO: I know how you feel about the snipers on ebay. I have had that happen to me, and it is really irritating.

BOB: That article was hilarious!

I know I am missing a lot of wonderful peoples...but I am so tired! I hope you will all forgive me for signing off before I finish responding...

Sweet dreams!

For those of you struggling, I thought I would share this that someone sent to me today.

Inner Peace

I am passing this on to you because it was passed on to me and has definitely worked for me. By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally found inner peace ... It read:

"The way to achieve inner peace is to finish all the things you've started."

So I looked around to see all the things I started and hadn't finished. So, today I have finished one small bottle of vodka, a bottle of red wine, a bottle of Jack Daniel's, my Prozac, a small box of chocolates and a half-gallon of Baskin Robbins rocky road.

You have no idea how good I feel.

No I do not sell drugs, I am a Insurance Agent with the Knights of Columbus. Work long hours, Paperwork in day and one to two appointment an evening.
Was a commerical Agent for 23 years and been with the Knights going on 4 years.

Ange Haley:

Hey neighbor, I used the platinum and I think it cost about 39.95 a month. The warehouse is in Dallas. It works for some and especially woman seem to like it quite a bit. Gives you engery(sp), but I think it has a lot of caffine in it, and I have High BP so I
quite using it.

Hey great loss, congrats.

Does any one know if the South Beach Diet with 3 phrases, is easeir than sugar busters? or do you just cut back on things on Sugar Busters. I seem to go overboard on bread for some crazy reason. Not sweets just bread. Any Idea's.

I hope my weight stays as steady as it has for the last 3 weeks when I get to where I want to be..

You all have a Suuuuuper Day and when you want to go off the diet, 1st thing to do is go weigh yourself, and then , see if you can get in that 8/10 or whatever dress size your goal is. and if your are then happy, go for it. I know better than quote dress sizes, one day I called my wife and asked if she still took a size 8 , because I saw a real pretty dress and wanted to get it for her. naming the wrong size dress killed the whole idea. Will not do that again.

Hey guys I have been searching around on the boards a little for some different information. I came across something that I have heard before but never knew what it meant. What does it mean when someone says not to get whole wheat that is stripped?

Good evening gang. This will be short and sweet as I am one tired puppy. Put up 30 half pints of NSA applesauce today. I am ready for baking this winter, huh!! Our rain has ended, but it was still a bit cooler today. Will have to see what tomorrow brings.

Melf-- Oh....congrats granny! Glad that all is well, babies are such a gift of God. You and baby look lovely!! Is this your first grandchild? Thanks for sharing the pic with us.

Jack-k-- I think you are right, we are never satisfied with ourselves. Seems we are always seeing the imperfections and never the inner beauty and strength. When I look in the mirror, I see fat thighs, jiggly arms, and cellulite!! Why can't I see the difference?? I mean, I know I am smaller, but I still see a fat person, know what I mean??

Jec-- Love those puppies, but I don't think the squeak toy belongs in the bed while you all are trying to sleep. Put it in the other room. Or maybe dh??

Deb-- Glad that it wasn't too serious with your puter. Let's hope that the disc will fix it. I froze all the rest of the Zucchini Bread.....and that is where it is going to stay. I made a zucchini dessert Saturday, and don't have any trouble staying away from it. DH has a piece of it every night, and I haven't touched it. Don't know why I caved with the bread. Cheese cake sounds great.....which one of the quarterly boards is your recipe on??

Pancho-- I have never been on e-bay, but a friend tells me I am really missing out. I don't even know how to go about it. Can you tell I live in the boonies??

Chrisd-- I went on line and ordered it. bodybyjake.com. It is AWESOME!! You should let your muscles rest for a day or so before exercising again. I break my routines up....one day I do upper body, and the next lower body. But I have heard that you can exercise the abs every day.

Toni-- Don't over do it if you are tired. Take your time, and take care of yourself.

Heart-- Glad everyone is on the mend at your casa.....

Superdave--Sounds like you need some rest.....get to bed early!!

Country-- Those peppers sound good. Your daughter is sixteen and going to college in less than a year?? WTG!

Ange-- Bet you are tickled pink to be home, and enjoying a fresh new house!! Enjoy!1

Well, I am going to bed....see you in the morning.

Good morning All

Well, I survived yesterday. My cousin came early yesterday to take DS and I to my uncle's memeorial. We shopped (I got a new chinese cooking cookbook and some dishes to go with), picked up DS from school and then picked up Wendy's for lunch. I had the Chicken BLT salad. memorial service was nice. Lots of sweets afterward--I just ate 2 strawberries--:o I just realized I shouldn't have fruit for a few more days!! Oh well, better than the sweets.

Had the family back to our place afterward. Ordered chicken for dinner. So I had roasted chicken and a salad. I think I did pretty good with my eating yesterday.

I'm really pooped today, I'm thinking of going back to bed. Just a few replies.

MELF--Grandson is a cutie and you look wonderful.

SUPERDAVE--To me SOBE is kind of like Atkins (from what I understand of Atkins) the first phase--All carbs are cut out. No bread, no cereal, no rice, no potato--even sweet potato, no sugars. Dairy is cut down to some cheeses. I still have my morning coffee with cream in it--one treat I do allow myself, so maybe I won't lose so much or as quickly. No fruit is allowed on phase one either.
Phase 2 is still for losing and you gradually add in some carbs--this phase is like SugarBusters. You still want to stay away from the white stuff, but can add in WWpasta and bread, fruits, etc.
Phase 3 is for maintenance and since I'm not even close to that, I haven't read that part yet! What I've read, it is interesting info on how sugar affects your insulin which in turn affects your heart and arteries.

I have found this restrictive Phase one pretty easy to do. 2/3 of the book is recipes and meal plans. The recipes look yummy! I did have a headache for the first 2 days while my body was detoxing. I've been in a lot of situations this past week where I didn't have too much choice of the food, but I still managed to stay OP. My only slip was the strawberries I ate yesterday (no fruit phase one) but I just had 2 and like I said, it was better than the sweets.

Everyone is different, but maybe it would help you to get over your bread cravings? I think that SugarBusters is easy to follow, but maybe I just didn't want to be strict with myself till now. I've been on this board for 2 years and haven't stuck so strictly to the SB woe that I have this time with the restrictive SOBE woe. This is the beginning of day 10 for me and I'm really wanting an apple or a drink of milk. A lot better than wanting chocolate cake and chips.

I hope that helped you out SUPERDAVE. It's still way early and I haven't had my coffee, so I hope I was coherent. Just ask any questions you want.

Time for coffee or bed. I'll check in later.

Good morning everyone... Well I guess my week-end killed my weight loss. I stayed the same this week. Hopefully next week will be better. Its so hard for me to pull a pound off this old body it doesn't take much to mess it up. Walked my 16 min. this morning. I have to get ready for the doctor's. I get my blood work this morning. And I'm always a little nervous about who will be taking it. Ouch!!!! Also see the doctor cause I have poison ivy on my face. Don't have time to write to everyone but will check in later.

Good WEIGH IN WEDNESDAY MORNING to you all:wave:

Well, a good nights sleep and I'm still pooped! Decided I wasn't going to go walk this morning even though I was dressed and ready to go. Besides being tired my left heel part on the bottom of my left foot has hurt since I started walking again and it hurts quite a bit today-almost like it was bruised, but it's not. Figured I would take Wednesday's off when I re-started my walking but hadn't til today. Six days in a row with 1 day off is okay once in a while but I think a mid-week break is deserving once in a while.

I have quite a few errands to run today. With my parents gone I have a few things to do for them. Want to go look at mircowaves, though after talking to my sister this morning she said I should check to see if the fuse is gone because the same thing happened to her and it was just a fuse, so I may play Ms. Fix-It before I leave to look.

I'm praying that disk for the computer arrives today, as it should. This laptop sucks big time, it's slow and doesn't work all that great and it drives me crazy. I haven't even bothered with my e-mails, it's a lot bigger job than typing on the board. Without a mouse it makes it harder, I hate the touchpad.

I hope the scales are kind to you all today! I will be doing WIW on Oct. 1st:) I can tell you that I have stepped on the scale and nothing has changed so I don't plan on stepping on it again til the 1st because it totally stresses me out. I'm not worried though, I know my eating is right on key and TOM is due Tuesday so that's probably why I'm feeling like the Goodyear Blimp!

COUNTRY, your DD is going to college in less than a year and she's just 16 now? Did she skip a grade? Is she going away to college or staying at home? I'm not looking forward to MICHAEL leaving, with exception that his bedroom will finally be clean more than an hour!!!! My computer didn't come with a disk at all. The one they are sending, thankfully, there's no charge. Hope you get yours fixed!

BOB, hope you're feeling better today! Love the little avatars you are putting up! The computer, it seems to be a problem with Microsoft, not the computer itself, which they are sending a disk to fix it. Seems it's common, but with having it almost a year now, wonder what set it off to screw up now. Can you believe Alison won the veto - doesn't that suck! I can't believe she's promised Erika and Jun she'd keep them both - I can't stand her! I was hoping she would get the phone call last night from her BF so he would tell her to go to ****!

CHRIS, first off, thanks so much for the e-card and for putting a bright start on my day and making me smile:D That was so sweet. I haven't had time to read your e-mail, but I will - how about I calal you tonight, so much easier with me being on this stupid computer for me just to call, I'm hating typing on this thing. Is after 9pm okay? Okay for the stripped flour it's the same as enriched whole wheat flour, or any white flour, it's been stripped of all the nutrients - def. something you'd not want to eat, that's for sure.

PANCHO, decided not to bid on the set, it went higher than I wanted to go. I will set a limit for something and not go over it usually. It's at $91 dollars right now, with the shipping and tax, because they are in FL, I'm just not willing to go that high. I love making shakes in my blender. Can only tell you my Osterizer, I've had it for 22 years now and never had to do anything but change the blade and seal a few years ago. If yours isn't crushing the ice, check the blade. Have fun at the thrift store!

ANGE, that's a pretty darn big house. Now I can see why you would have a cleaning lady, heck, I hate cleaning my house and it's half the size of yours (or less). E-mail me your address and I will send you some pb flour to try, a couple tablespoons to see if you like it. Please, don't even think of sending me any money, that's ridiculous, we're talking pennies! Hey, you, DAVE & YELLOWROSE are neighbors. There's so many Texans on the board these days - you've out-numbered the Floridians!! My Jet Stream Oven is round and does work with cylonic air, but not a toaster oven. I can't live without it!

MONET, I'm with you with being tired-hope we both get through this. You had me lauging when you said you bought your DS a present at Petsmart, wondering what the heck you bought him at Petsmart! Then read on, that sounds like he'll enjoy using it for his turtle. Glad you found some new shoes - I'm sure you could use them and hope they make standing on your feet more comfortable. Who's Yancey?

SUPERDAVE, as ZANNE mentioned, SOBE diet is basically 2 weeks Atkins followed by SB and then maintenance. He just took 2 different diets and combined them. Atkins, I have heard, is okay to do for 2 weeks without major reprecussions for many people, but long term isn't good. Then of course, you have SB that's doable forever. As for the bread, how many starchy carbs are you eating on average a day? Maybe you think you are eating more than you are? Maybe you are lacking somewhere else? If you want, try to journal your food for a day or two and either e-mail it to me, or post it on the board, maybe it's something so easy to adjust.

TEESY, my gosh girl, where do you store all those canned goods? You definitely have a green thumb and bumper crops this year. The cheesecake recipe is all over - go to the search button and put in DEB'S CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE and just search the SB RECIPE BOARDS solely and you'll find it more than once. It's delish!

ZANNE, you did fine. A couple strawberries will not hurt you. I'm sure you could use the fiber!!!

TONI, it's not so bad to stay the same, it's surely better than gaining! Good luck at the Dr. today - let us know what he says and how it went.

Okay gals, I'm outta here. I'll check in later this afternoon.

Toodles

Hello everyone.

Well I have gotten into the habit of not getting on the scales and I completely forgot today was WIW and had breakfast before I could remember, so I won't be getting on the scales once again. Surely though I have to have lost something because my rings aren't as tight as they have been. Of course it could be nothing but water weight since the doc put me on a fluid pill to help with my blood pressure, but who cares weight is weight.

Biscuit didn't have that squeeky toy last night and I slept so much better. Now if he'd just get the pottying outside!:s:

I took a couple of pictures of the other two girls so y'all can see them too. This one is Katie my 9 yr. old.

After I post the other one of Kerri, I have some stuff around here to clean up, so I'll talk to y'all later.

Oh and Deb, the next time I have my hair fixed and makeup on I'll see if hubby will take a picture of me to post. Trust me, you don't want to see me without being "fixed" up, not a pretty sight, at least I don't think so.

Good morning everyone, just checking in this morning. Already got my 100 sit ups in and 80 push ups. It wasnt easy, seeing as my arms and stomach are still achy, but I sucked it up and did it. I will ride the gazelle when my son goes in for a nap.

TEENSY - thanks for the info, i will definitley look into that!

DEB - you're welcome :) Thanks for the email. You can call me whenever...I am up til 11-12 most of the time. I had no idea you were a Big Brother fan. I can't stand Ali either! Yet another thing to add to the list. Its on at 9pm, so call before or after and if thats too late then tomorrow is good too. If you call me, I will call you right back, I have free long distance.

Have a good day

Good Weigh-in Wednesday....I was at 124.5 this morning. I guess Country was right about water weight.

I did get to the gym this morning while DH stayed home with girls. I am going to go jump in the shower in a few minutes, but like to stay caught up on what's goign on with everyone!

angehaley: I did have fun volunteering in my DD's class today. It was only for the first 30 minutes, but was still fun. I am scheduled to volunteer for the full three hours on September 19th. That should be a lot of fun. I know what you are saying about the Buy-It-Now option; I used to use it all the time, but then started bidding on some items, and got them for far less than the BIN price. If BIN is available and I really want the item, and it's a good price, I'll buy it for the Buy-It-Now price. Congrats on the 1 pound loss, with all the hectic stuff going on in your life the past few weeks.

chrisd: I don't know if anyone has answered your bread question (I am sure they have), but stripped means it's naked (ha). Bleached and Enriched are two words you want to stay away from. When something is stripped/enriched, "they" have taken all the natural goodness from it and then added a few other ingredients to "enrich" it. You want something that is unbleached Whole grain, with little to no sweeteners. Way to get that workout in. Listen to your body and don't overdo it. Did you get that nice hot bath in?

Teensy: As frustrating as e-bay is, it's also a ton of fun, and could be addicting. PLUS, you can get some great deals. You should play around with it some evening or day when you have a little time on your hands. You can get some great holiday gifts off there.

Zanne: You did great with your eating; I am sure that a few strawberries are not going to hurt you, even on South Beach.

Toni: Good luck with your blood work. Last time I went in the gal taking my blood told me she was hypoglycemic (sp?), and then showed me how her hands were shaking. That was reassuring since she was about to take my blood!

Deb: One day off from walking can only do your body some good. You've been walking your tail-end off lately. Does your osterizer blend up ice real smooth to where you can get a true milkshake out of it with no little chunks of ice? Better go price them on e-bay (just kidding).

jecrites: the girls are precious. Do you have 3 girls? Is the dog a boy or girl? Did your DH get a boy so he's not outnumbered? We have two girls and two female dogs; my husband definately feels outnumbered.

Well, better go get clean!! I hope to check in later, and let you know if I found any great deals while at the thrift store!

Take care!

Hello, all. WIW was good to me. I'm down 2, so at a new low of 180. I'm gradually headed to the 170's. I was a little ticked about my measurements though. I haven't had a significant inch loss since the end of July. Doesn't make sense because I couldn't wear 14's then, and now I can. I think I need to add floor/toning exercises to my walk workout. Too much flab. Maybe that will help. Boogie is doing better. He ate a poptart early this morning, went back to sleep and got up and had some cereal. I put him back on the scales today and he's back to his normal weight of 30 lbs.

Jecrites- so where do the kids get their red hair? When I was little, I hated having red hair because I would get teased. I begged my Mom to let me dye my hair. She told me that if I still felt that way at age 13, then I could. Well, by that time I was getting tons of compliments. Still haven't dyed my hair to date and don't plan on it unless I go gray. But I am thinking about highlights one day.

I am one tired cookie this morning. After we walked I came in and scrubbed the stove. One, it is a shame it was that dirty. Two, I must have lost my mind decidinig today was the day to clean it.

Oh check it out. I ate some fruit...honeydew. The best I have ever had. I had about 7 ounces yesterday and 10 this morning. That's it on the fruit front for the week. I may have honeydew one more time.

Deb...Taking a day off is a good thing. Because we changed our day off this week...it's been 10 days no break...if the weather and old body holds it will be another 3 more days before we take our break and I can hardly wait. Part of me hopes it rains. :) No, Britt didn't skip a grade. She has just worked really hard getting her lessons done. She is a straight A student and not just because she is at home. She was in public school also. I wish her brother had taken after her.....I'm just praying he will finish.

Ange...I can't imagine a house that big. Too cool. Down a pound is good. I bet next week it will be even more. Watch out for stuff that says its all natural. I was gonna take a suppliment once and it had all these really cool "natural" ingrediants" After some deep digging and finding out what each of them were...one was really ephedra......not good. But I had to go to the distriburtor before we finally found out what it was.

Pancho..congrats on getting the pound back off.

ChrisD....you go you exercising machine! I read some where a while back that it was better to do less sit ups with better form than a lot of them. Pleaseeeee I can't even make my lazy self do a sit up. WTG pushing through and stayign committed.

Jenn....all your girls are adorable! Thanks for sharing.

Toni....staying the same is good too...no gain! WTG on the TM time. Hope the dr. has good news for you when your blood work comes back.

Zanne....WTG passing on the sweets. A couple of strawberries shoudn't hurt a thing.

Teensy...WTG on the canning. If you ever feel lazy, applesauce freezes nicely also. My mom and I use to put up soup every summer. Hopefully one year we'll finally be able to get a tractor and make a garden here. Then I can teach my younger girl to can. Britt has no desire to learn to cook, can or crochet so Stormy will have to pass all that down.

Dave, my husband too has learned to not guess my size...LOL

Monet....LOL loved the inner peace story.

Off to make lunch. My crew is just this side of mutiny this afternoon. They think they are starvin'.

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hello once again everyone.

I'm not doing a whole lot today like I thought I was going to. I am getting some much needed towels washed. Every towel in this house is dirty!

For some replies, then off to find something for lunch. Oh, and I had orange juice yesterday and today, nothing else fruit wise so far.

Pancho, Yep all three kids are girls. The dog and cat both are boys, but hubby is still outnumbered...LOL!!!

Heartmom, Umm, theri hair really isn't red, I think that was the glow from the T.V. and the light over their head. Katie's is more like a dark blonde and Kerri's is nearly white. They could have some red in there though, it's on both sides of the family. Glad to hear your little one is doing better.

Ok, talk to y'all later.

Sorry that I haven't posted lately, it's just been sort of crazy all the way around. I'm still getting my exercise in at least. WIW was not kind to me, up 1 1/2 pounds! So I was good today, had egg/cheese/ww toast this AM, and a modified chef salad for lunch.
Not sure about supper yet, the guys will get hamburger helper.
I'm also hitting the gym again after work this afternoon to get in my cardio and strength training workouts. And the jeans I have on are just too darn big! Guess I've got to suck it up and go buy a new pair....
Resopnses:
Ange: we don't have a huge house, but we do have a cleaning lady, she comes every 2 weeks and does all the things I hate(mopping/bathrooms/etc). Then we just have to pick up in between, it works out really well for all of us.
Teensy: I did homemade tomato sauce yesterday, fresh garlic, basil and oregano with some diced red pepper, smelled heavenly! i just froze it, much easier for me than canning. We picked apples over the weekend, but I'm going to do pie/crisp/etc.

Great job for everyone else, whether it was maintaining or exercising ot supporting the other members on this board.
have a great one!

Good morning all-- WIW was not what I was hoping for.....I am still at 166, so I guess I will just have to figure out what is going on. I think my calories are too low again. Would it be possible for some of you, (whoever wouldn't mind that is....) to post some of your menu's. I feel like I am eating alot, but the calorie counts are pretty low. The fresh veggies don't add many calories. The last week I have been getting around 1300. I think that is too low for my weight. What do you all think?

Weather was pretty cool here this morning. Dh said it was 36 early this morning. I don't want it to frost yet. I don't want to lose the garden this early. Seems like everything has been a month early this summer.

Deb-- I usually take off Sat. and Sun. from exercise unless I miss a day during the week. I think our body needs that break, don't you?? Thanks for the info on where to find the recipe, will definitely be trying that one, as I too have one package of CC that needs to be used up. We built an insulated room out in our shop that has our pressure tank for the well, and we have built shelves in it for all the canned goods. It stayes cool in the summer and warm in the winter. You have to remember Deb, we are out in the boonies here. It is a 35 mile drive to town. This was our first year of a full garden, so next year will know abit more of what we are doing. But I do have to say.....I am going to miss this fresh stuff as soon as it freezes out. We will have to start covering the tomatoes soon.

Ange-- Congrats on the loss.

Jec-- Thanks for sharing the photos. Your children are very beautiful. I had boys, so would have loved to have had a little girl around!! Maybe someday it will be a granddaughter! I am sure hoping!! And I am sure ready.....but I guess the boys aren't. LOL.

Chrisd-- You are very welcome. As I said, I love it!!

Pancho-- I am definitely going to check into E-bay. Sounds like I could get to liking it a bit much!!

Heart-- WOOO HOOO, way to go girl!! Your body could just be distributing the weight differently maybe??? I am at a total loss, as to why. But the good news is that you can!!

County--When I was younger, I knew my Mother worked very hard canning and I swore I would never do it. Now, I am begging her to teach me. If fact yesterday she told me that when she was done, she was giving me all of her canning kettles and such, because I was the only one doing any of it. That made me feel wonderful!!

Wood-- Ooooh, that sounds good. I never thought about T sauce. We did juice, salsa, stewed tomatoes, (Reg, Italian, and Mexican) and chili sauce. I will have to check into the sauce. I use alot of sauce, so that would be a good option for me. Thanks!! Last year we had soooo many apples, I canned my apple pie filling!! Now I just have to empty the jar into the pie crust and bake!! Will try and do more of that if we get lots of apples again this year!!

Need to get busy......so have a great day all of you!!

I was fixing to play a hand or 2 of freecell, so I figured I'd stop by while on the computer. Boogie is really being a whiny butt today! I keep threatening him with taking a nap if he doesn't stop. JECRETIES- it must be my computer- 2 of the kids showed up very red hair, and one with very blonde. Not much else going on. Staying at home today being bored. I did the 2 mile tape earlier and plan on doing some kind of floor exercises later- I really hate that part, but I've put it off long enough. I am having a planned "cheat" today. Macaroni- Velvetta Light. Hopefully, it won't show up on the scale tomorrow- or anywhere else, lol. UGH, Boogie's back here again crying and whining-gotta go...

Teensy, I would have liked for one of the last two to have been a boy, but hubby just can't seem to put the stem on the apple..lol. His sister has three boys, and if all boys are the way hers are, I'm kind of glad I have girls, but then again when they get older I'll probably be wishing they were all boys. Hopefully when they get older and married they can have boys and I'll get my boys that way.

Heartmom, I went back and looked at the pictures after you said that, and their hair does have a reddish tint to it, but I think it's the light in here that did it to them. Not the best lighting in the world, it's on just one side of the living room and makes the rest of the house dark.

Just checking in...today has been unbelievable! I have been going all day, and can't stop yet! I had to work, then I was supposed to go get stuff for my cake decorating class that I am teaching that starts tomorrow, but I had to wait for someone to pick up some mints we made for her wedding. She was late, I had a massage appointment, and I had to skip the talk by Phillip Yancey tonight. Bummer! I am about to head out to JoAnns to get the stuff I need. I had hoped to get it at the cake decorating supply store, but they closed before I could get over there. :(

I was the same this morning, but still it was about 2 pounds lower than last week. Congrats to all you losers!

Hope to be back later!

Good Afternoon everyone!

I had a ball at the thrift store; good thing I had to pick up my DD or I'd probably still be there. I got 10 clothing items for $38. I got some Liz Claiborne black jeans, and some Docker tan pants, a few other pair pants (can't remember the brand, and they are still in the truck), two pair workout shorts, several sweaters (long & short sleeved). It was so fun. All the pants I bought were size 6's, and the sweaters were small or medium. It sure feels good. I did try on plenty of 6's that were too tight, but found some that fit perfect. It is so fun to be replenishing my wardrobe, and hubby can't complain about that;)

heart: Congrats on the new low; you should be feeling pretty happy. Hope Boogie feels better soon. As much as you love them, it's hard when they are sick and whiney.

country: Nothing beats a good honeydew or cantaloupe. I love them both when they are ripe and sweet.

wood: What a great problem to have; jeans being too big. Go have fun buying some new ones. I am having a ball buying new clothes!

BOB: Way to get back into that dress; I'm sure you look fabulous!

To all who have lost today, congrats & keep up the good work, and those who didn't, hang in there and keep up the good work.

I will check in tomorrow a.m.

Have a great evening!

Some of this may be in my head, I eat about 2 slices of Whole Wheat bread a day made by Sugar Busters. Eat lean meats about 4 oz's 2 times a day with salad with olive oil and ving dressing. Eat veggies like calif, broc, aspar, green beans, For breakfast usually hard boild eggs , or omlette made with spinach, or aspar. Snacks cheese sticks low fat, 10 almond nuts or sugar free jello. half peanut butter sandwich smuckers natural. apple, peach or frozen berries once a day. No pasta or rice.

Meats is skinless chick breast, hamburger patty,Lean steak, salmon, or other fish, delli turkey, or roast beef rolled with slice fat free cheese, mayo, wraped in lettuce., tuna fish, chickan salad, egg salad.. I am on the go so much, this is pretty much it. I have to cook for my self 90% of the time as my wife works at Sears with odder hours than mine.

Ladies where I can use help is meals that I can precook and freeze or have as snacks or warmed up meals that will keep a couple days. I use a george foreman grilll for cooking my meats.

Thanks

Just a quickie...

been on the phone with HP for well over an hour now. Got the disk and have been doing this computer check with the guy on the phone with me (from India) and when it finally finishes, well, you know my luck, it doesn't work. He has me on hold right now, trying to figure the next course of action-I'm just not too hopeful at this point!

Don't have time to reply to everyone now, much less read the board, but did want to reply to the message I saw above from SUPERDAVE.

DAVE, if you are only eating 2 slices of the Flowers bread and no more, no wonder, you sure aren't eating too much bread. I will address this to you tomorrow.

Oh crap, the guy is telling me now that he has to send me 8 disks in the mail and my entire computer information will be lost!!!! This is awful! I don't know what's going to happen to all my stuff:cry: I don't have anything backed up!!! If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all:cry:

I'm off for today:cry:

Deb

Will try to get on tomorrow after the kids go to school.

Hello Everyone,
Anyone remember me???? I haven't had a computer for over 2 months now, so I haven't been online at all. It's killing me, but my computer should be back up and running next week.

the wedding was great. Here is a picture of my family(parents, 6 brothers, 3 sisters and neices and nephews) I'm on the right side front holding Selah, with Travis right behind me.

I'll try to catch you all up next week.

Morning everyone!

I have a class to teach this morning, so I need to go and get prepared for that. I just wanted to jump on here and say hi.

Yesterday was another weird day. About seven, I was getting ready to run to the store for somethings I needed for class, and realized I had not eaten lunch or dinner! I rectified that with a bit of scrounging in the fridge, then set off for the store. I ate very little all day yesterday. I sure don't understand why, but I am not going to complain too much. I think it contributes to my losing to do that now and then. I do need to up my veggie intake, even on those no-appetite days....

Hope everyone has a great day! I need to get going, but will try and check in later, and maybe get some replies in for a change!

Good Thursday Morning All:wave:

Got in from my walk a little while ago, felt good to do those 4.5miles today:) Not too hot, lower 80's - that's not too hot for us:shrug:

Okay, I think all this bad luck is making me more stupid! Here's two incidences from yesterday:

First, I went and got that fuse. I plugged it in and plugged the microwave in and viola, power!!! I was soooo happy! So I go to put the metal housing on it-stupid me forgot to unplug the thing and there it goes, sparks, a small flame and poof, the thing turns off again! I try to call my sister and the cordless doesn't work-both plugged into the same outlet (duh) so I go and switch on the circuit breaker, plug it back in a it has power. So I try to put in a cup of water and poof, it blows again - I give up!

Second stupid incident of the day, we got the disk to fix the computer. So the guy tells me to start the computer and put in the disk and while it boots up to hit the F1 key continually. I do it and nothing happens, so he tells me to shut down the computer and to try again. As I do that I realize WHY nothing was happening. I was hitting the wrong keyboard! I was using the one I hooked up to this laptop, not the other one to the desktop! I felt so stupid! Well, after about an hour and a half on the phone there was no hope and they are sending me 8 recovery disks which will take the computer back to the state where we bought it. Nothing is backed up, didn't know how and I should of asked MICHAEL. He's hoping his friend JOHNNY can find a way to back up our information before we redo the computer and we'll be taking it to his house today. He told MICHAEL he didn't think the disk HP had sent would work-he knew.

I keep forgetting to mention that I spoke to SERENE the other day and she asked me if we were going to do another SB GET TOGETHER. Is anyone game? Any ideas? I also got an e-mail from JENN from MN and she hoped to get on the board soon. She was suppose to go for an ultra sound the other day, hoping to see which sex the baby is going to be.

I'm going to try and get in some replies here, short on time this morning so wherever I stop I'll have to try and p/u later. This computer is **** to type on and seems to worsen each day. I can type and it will take a few second before anything shows up and it keeps locking on me-it's barely used but quite antiquated already.

ANGE, CONGRATS on your pound loss this past week:cp:

JEC, thanks for sharing pictures of the girls, such blondies! Are you blond too? Can't wait to see a pic of you-hope it's soon!

CHRIS, glad we got to chat last night - let me know if you find any goodies around town today. I found a place in Tampa that sounds like a good place to visit called Nature's Harvest Market and Deli-sounds like you could eat there and stay OP.

PANCHO, yes, the blender I have does make smooth shakes. It's old, but it works like a charm. Check garage sales, I can always find them there. I have a spare, just in case;) Sounds like the bargain bug bit you yesterday-got some goodies!

HEART, CONGRATS on the new low:bravo: The 170's are just ahead! Glad to hear BOOGIE is doing better.

COUNTRY, I just love when I get a good honeydew. I have one good one and one that has to go back to the store it's so bad, but I do like them. Don't eat much of it though, would rather have something with more fiber, but kids like it. You're really getting in those miles! Good for you!!!

WOOD, glad to see you checking in:)

TEENSY, I'd say, at this point in the "game" 1300 is too low, but not too far off. I'd probably try to stick to around 1500. This shouldn't be too hard to acheive - another pot pie would do the trick;) Can you figure out where your calories are coming from and see where you can improve, like maybe another carb serving? Ummm, did you reall mean 36 degrees there? Already? Geez, I'm dying of the heat and you're talking about frost??? I'm so jealous!

BOB, tell KATE thanks, but I hope she's wrong! We sure don't need this hurricane, but trust me, we're all sitting and waiting to see what's going to happen over the next few days. Hard to predict that this point. Will go to Publix and get a few boxes of mac & cheese just in case. Not much of anything else is needed. Heck, we better not get it, I have too many pot pies in my freezer!!!! Good job with the dress - soon it will be a bikini;)

DAVE, your daily intake looks fine but I do believe the reason you are craving bread is you aren't getting in enough carbs, simple as that. If you e-mail me your stats (weight, height, frame type and goal weight) I can give you a better idea of what caloric targets you should be trying for. One of the best things I think to make, that also freezes well is my CRUSTLESS SPINACH QUICHE. If you can't find it on the recipe boards by doing a search just within our boards, LMK and I'll get it to you:)

TALITHA, glad to see your post-wondered where you've been! Looks like a nice big wedding party. When you get a chance, would love to see a close up of you and SELAH.

MONET, hope you get to settle down from all the running you've been doing - make sure you eat, not doing so is NOT good, you're going to run out of fuel.

Okay, I'm caught up, didn't take as long as I thought. Will try to check in later if I'm able.

Wow, it's pretty quiet around here this morning. Things are good here. I was at 123# this morning, so back where I should be.

I am going to go stand in line today at DMV, while DD is in school. I need to get a new driver's license. I have a new address now and I want to get my social security # off there as my DL#. Also, need to get a gift for a 3-year old's party we are going to on Saturday.

Dave: You've gotta try CountryMom's lasagne's recipe. It makes a large portion, so you can eat some and freeze some. It is delicious too. I know she posted it on here a few weeks back, but don't know if she ever posted it in the actual recipe section. Two slices of bread per day is definately not too much, as long as you are not filling up on a lot of other starchy carbs throughout the day.

Deb: I sure hope they are wrong about you losing all your information; that would be terrible. I am so sorry. Did you get a virus on there to wipe it out?

Talitha: So good to see you are alive and well. We look forward to having you back. Your picture is beautiful and the wedding party looks so nice; glad you enjoyed yourself.

Monet: Have a great day, and remember to eat!!! It is better for your metabolism to be eating many x's throughout the day so your body doesn't hang on to the last meal for dear life. I know you are busy, but you have to take time to take care of Monet;) .

Well, I guess I'll run and get some breakfast and get ready for another busy day!

Take care!

I don't know why I haven't made a pizza crutst before today but I will be making them from now on. I made the kids and I a mexican pizza out of some left over taco meat and beans....let's just say YUM! It's cooling right now so I can cut it. But of course I had to taste it right out of the oven. The crust just melts in your mouth. I use Sir Authur Stone ground wheat flour. I think it has an awesome texture.

I was careful while I was making the pizza so I could share the recipe :)

Basic Pizza Crust

2 1/4 to 2 3/4 cup flour
1 teaspoon sugar (yep, I used the sugar)
1 teaspoon salt
1 table spoon yeast (it called for one pkg fast acting...I use the bulk stuff you get at Sams)
1 cup water
2 tablespoons oil

I mixed 2 cups flour with all the other dry ingredients. Then I zapped the water for 1 minute and added it and the oil to the dry ingredients.

Put a little flour on the counter and kneeded about a 1/2 a cup into the dough. Kneeded for about 3 minutes and put it into a bowl to rise. Let it rise about 18 minutes.

It's suppose to make two 12 inch pizzas but I made mine on a large cookie sheet. Greased cookie sheet.

The sauce was a can of tomato sauce with cumin and chili powder and garlic. Spread over the crust. Added the hamburger refried bean mixture. Then topped with 10 ounces of cheddar cheese.

Cook at 425 for 15 minutes.

Let cool and serve.

Phone...

Hello all.

First I want to thank you all for your compliments on my girls. They wouldn't be so cute to you if you really knew them...lol. Hubby told the guys at work that kids are always cute when they belong to someone else.

I had an apple yesterday to go along with that o.j. I drank. So far today it's just been the o.j., but I'm definately thinking about the peach I have left in the fridge.

I already have supper cooking and nearly done. Hubby has been working for a guy he knows from work in the evenings and wants to eat as soon as he gets home so he can leave. I've got some great northern beans in a pot on the stove, those aren't but about halfway done, and then a turkey meatloaf in the oven that's probably done but it's going to stay in there on warm till he comes in. I'll probably fix some broccoli to go along with it.

Other than doing that today, I've been pretty lazy. The house is a disaster area and I can't stand it, but I really don't want to clean it up either. Those are my plans for the weekend. I'm sure hubby will be gone either still working or out to the woods to have a look around to get ready for the hunting season.

Deb, Yep, I'm a blonde. It used to be white blonde, but since getting older and having 3 kids it's darkened some. My MIL keeps telling me that it's brown but she's color blind. Her daughter had this same hair color in school and she would say her's was blonde. She probably does it just to piss me off, but what she don't know is that I could care less. I sure hope you are able to get your stuff backed up. Hubby has restored our computer back to the way we got it and I lost everything. What made me so mad was loosing my e-mail addresses.

Well I'm off to "think" about doing something about this house. I'll talk to y'all later.

Jenn- had to laugh about your MIL referring to your blonde hair as brown. Don't you just love MIL's? As for me, I really have the MIL from ****. I don't think anyone can top mine. She lives less than 10 minutes away and I don't talk to her or see her. She has nothing to do with my kids. But it's her choice. She would rather smoke crack- yes, she's a crackhead- and worry about her addiction and whatever useless thing is in her life. She's never called to check on Boogie with any of his surgeries, etc. Anyway, my point was that when me and Robby were just dating, she would try to get to me by talking about Robby's ex and that if she ever came back to town, I would be history. Well, he ran into his ex and he made it clear he was doing just fine without her and being with me. Neverless, the woman was a real witch for saying that to me(along with alot of other crap I won't get into).

Talitha- Welcome, Back! I loved the pic, although you couldn't make out your face- we want more! How old is Selah now?

I did my 2 mile tape again, going to stick with it until I build my endurance back up. Yesterday, I did some thigh and butt exercises and chest exercises. My butt is definetly sore, lol. But my thighs aren't. I did the chest ones for lifting and firming- but why is it that my armpit area is sore and not my chest? Eating has been "okay" today- too much fat and not enough veggies and fruit. Hubby came home early this morning sick. So naturally we have sat around and watched TV and snacked during the day. I rented CHICAGO the other day- neither one of us liked it. Didn't know it was going to be a musical the whole way thru. Then I just rented A Man Apart- we had already seen it at the movies- but we both love Vin Diesel(for different reasons-haha). That's it for now.

Hi everyone! No rest today! Class went fine, and long. Its a nice small group of ladies. I think I am going to enjoy getting to know them. One is a diabetic, so I will probably sneak in some SB talk! :)

After class, I came home, then headed out to the church office to meet with the Worship and Arts director. He wanted to discuss some changes in how the church handles the arts ministry. I have been the drama director, but I am not anymore. I am now in charge of the combined arts team. This job suits my gifts much better, so I am excited about it. After we met and talked, I did the worship guides and headed home. I slipped when I got home and ate a BIG handful of potato chips. Not good to be so hungry! I need to think of something to make for dinner, but I don't feel like anything! I wanted chicken, but the only chicken I have is a whole one, and it is frozen rock solid! :( I am going to go rummage through the freezers and see if I can find anything else, but I do know I am making a big pot of broccoli, and some yellow squash!

I hope I can get back on here later, and write some replies. I did skim the posts....

HEART: Hey, I thought MY MIL was bad! You definitely win!

Heart, Holy cow! I definately have to say that my MIL isn't that bad. She does little stuff to annoy me, but SIL told me that she told her that she doesn't want to make me mad. How funny is that? I just don't understand why MIL's want to try so hard to irritate the DIL's, or SIL's. I think it's sad that yours would rather smoke then have a realationship with her grandkids. It'll all come back to haunt her one day though, it always does.

BOB, I'll get a picture of myself up on here in a few more days. I just haven't had to go anywhere to do anything and haven't "fixed" myself up. The only people that see me without my hair and makeup is the family and a neighbor or two. And way to go getting into that dress!

Good afternoon ladies, and SUPERDAVE! Been a busy beaver today. The weather is quite icky today, so I have been cleaning the kitchen. Walls, cupboards, appliances, and even the oven!! So if I have to stay in doors all day atleast the kitchen smells clean!!

Looks like I may get a full five days in on my exercising. That hasn't happened in awhile since going to the lake. Hope the weather turns warmer so we can get a few more fishing trips in.

I am beginning to wonder where I lost my son at. He left last Saturday to go down to his brothers, so they could go watch the rodeo together.....I haven't seen or heard from him since. Tried to call Brant yesterday, but only got the machine. Will try again today. Hope everything is okay and that they are just having fun!! He always tell me not to worry unless he calls. You would think it should be the other way around!!

Woodfrogs-- Could you tell me how you made the Tomato Sauce, I can't find anything in the canning book, or my other cookbooks.

Monet-- We will be here when you get the time. We miss you! Hope you don't over do it......and remember to eat, please!! Sounds like you have had a full plate the last week.

Deb-- Anytime I try and fix something it ends up in the garbage!! Worse than that, anytime I ask Dh to fix something.....it ends up in the garbage!! tee hee. That was funny about the keyboards. Probably not to you, but I got a chuckle out of it. I probably could add more carbs, but I am already eating so many veggies that I don't know what to add. I feel so full now. Are beans considered a carb, or protein?? And if I add them do I have to give up one of my other starchy carbs?? YES, I DID MEAN 36 DEGREES. I hate the thought of winter already. I think we may get a nasty one this year. We haven't had one for quite some time, and I feel like we are due.

Pancho-- Good Morning!!

Toni-- I hope you will be feeling better soon. Get some rest, and please take care of yourself!!

Chris-- Congrats on 4 days of exercise!! Please feel free to post it on the exercise board as well.

Country-- Sounds yummy!! I am going to do the pizza thing again, but not quite yet. I am tempted to have more than I should!!

Jec-- We will be anxiously waiting for your picture. I feel pretty good, I got my kitchen completely cleaned, including oven, and walls!!

Heart-- From the sounds of it, you and the kids are probably better off not having any communications with MIL. The kids do not need to be around any of that kind of stuff!!

BOB--Yes, football comes first!! Anyway for most of you, sounds like. I never was much of a fan unless it was my boys playing. Then I was an animal!!

Take care all, and will check back in this evening....

Good afternoon:

I spent all afternoon at DMV to get my driver's license. My old one had my social as the dl#, and had to change address and stuff. How Boring! I just followed Delaney around while she "walked" around for 1 1/2 hours. She is so cute; she looks like a little monkey walking around; she doesn't have the best balance yet. She kept walking over to people and trying to take stuff out of their pockets/purses. You'd think I was training her to be a pick-pocket.

angeahaley: I bought some flax oil awhile back but haven't had any yet. I about croaked when I saw the amount of calories & fat in one teaspoonful. I know it's the good fat/essential oils, but still a little high. I have heard some people squirt a little on a sandwich with vinegar and oil and you can't really taste it. Maybe you could mix it in with some yogurt of something. I use the ground flax seed meal, and it tastes good. It has a little bit of a nutty flavor, and you can add it to cereal, oatmeal, yogurt....

Toni: Feel better soon!!

Country: Thanks for the recipe!

Teensy: Way to get that exercise in. I hope to go tomorrow again; that will be 3x this week. I'm sure your son is just fine; it's so hard not to worry about them, no matter what age they are.

I still hope to get some pictures on here one of these days. Maybe I'll have my daughter take a picture of me on the digital; that would probably be the easiest way to download it. I still don't know where I'll find some "before" pictures as I threw a lot of them away.

Everyone have a great OP dinner, and I will check in tomorrow.

Take care!

Confession time! Dinner was a fried chicken breast from Publix, and steamed broccoli. I was just too tired to cook, and had a taste for chicken. While I was over there getting the chicken, I got bread. I was happy to find the 100% whole wheat Natures Own hot dog and hamburger buns. I got a package of each. The assistant grocery manager at the store has been trying to get the NO bread man to keep them on the shelf for me. Its taken the guy about six weeks to get around to it! The asst. grocery manager would be so happy! Unfortunately, (though fortunately for him) he got promoted to a great marketing job last week! :(

I am kind of tired...gee, I wonder why? I think chilling out is in order, so I am going to go put my nightie on, and climb into bed and read for a while. Sweet dreams!

:( HI All...Things are rough for me this week. I haven't been eating well and can't get my head on straight. A couple of things are going on...work had some very stressful things happen this week...I supervise employees and there is one that caused some problems. Needless to say I had to deal with it and it didn't turn out happy. Other events at work were not so happy either... Pluse I had 5 meals where I had meetings and the food was put in front of me. Usually, I make good choices and don't eat as much or try to avoid the really bad stuff. I guess because of the stress I just went ahead and ate it. Then yesterday I almost did what I had done last time and just gave up. I didn't journal my food and was to the point of not caring. But today I am doing better. Oh...to top it off our building was evacuated today because there was a suspicous package in the mail room...Finally, some of you may know that Sept. 11 was very hard on my for many reasons and today just brought all of that back. Anyway, I think I'm back on track and not going to give in but...

Gotta run...

Hello everyone. Hope you all had a good day. I made a great stir fry for dinner. I cant believe how much I love brown rice. I never had it until now. I will never eat white rice again. My 2 year old likes it too, and theres not much he likes.

DEB - I still cant find that cheesecake recipe...or that blintz thing you were telling me about last night. maybe Im doing something wrong.

BOB - Im sooooo pissed that Erika is out. i wanted her to win from day one. I guess I will have to go with Robert now. I cant stand Ali or Jun.

COUNTRY - thanks for that recipe. I think i will try that this weekend.

TEENSY - Looks like we will both be getting our first five days in a long time in! Good for us! ;)

Just a quickie before I hit the hay. Finally got ahold of Brant, and his brother is not with him. He left down there on Monday. Told Brant he was coming home. Probably in town with his friends. I sure hope so. He always tells me not to worry if I don't hear from him, but I do.
Pancho--Yes, he is probably okay, but the little brat could give me a call. I know that he isn't with his brother now. He is probably in town with some of his friends that he hadn't seen for 8 months, being on a ship in Alaska. Will probably see him by the weekend. I hope anyway!!

Monet-- Wish I could find some hamburger and hotdog buns. I am thinking of trying to make some??

Beach-- Hang in there kiddo. Everything will get better. No one likes having to be the heavy at work, but someone has got to do it. You were back on track today, and I am sure tomorrow with be A-OK!!

Chris-- I haven't eaten any rice for years. Maybe I should retry it. I am just not sure about buying it, and then finding out I still don't like it. Is it just sold in the bags like white rice?? WTG on the exercise. We will be dwindling down to nothing.....

Sweet dreams to you all..........

Boy I am so far behind. I really miss not being able to read and post especially going into the weekend.

I've been running back and forth between jobs and it is crazy. EAting is great and have exercised all week. Gotten in 11 miles walking and my wt training and floor exercises each night. Not near as many miles as Deb and Country, but it's something.

Hoping to get back later to read some. Have a great weekend in case I don't.

I put some country style ribs in the crockpot this morning with atkins barbeque sauce on them. I want to go grocery shopping today and want something already fixed when I get home. Got on the scale this morning and I'm still the same. I need a nice weight loss to get me going good. Well just got off the treadmill and need some water..... How to keep a healthy level of INSANITY!

1. At lunch time, sit in your parked car with sunglasses on and point a hair dryer at passing cars. See if they slow down.

2. Page yourself over the intercom. Don't disguise your voice.

3. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask if they want fries with that.

4. Put your garbage can on your desk and label it "in"

5. Put decaf in the coffee maker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to espresso.

6. In the memo field of all your checks, write "for sexual favors".

7. Finish all your sentences with "in accordance with the prophecy."

8. Don't use any punctuation marks
9. As often as possible, skip rather than walk.

10. Ask people what sex they are. Laugh hysterically after they answer.

11. Specify that your drive-through order is "to go".

12. Sing along at the opera.

13. Go to a poetry recital and ask why the poems don't rhyme.

14. Put mosquito netting around your work area. Play a tape of jungle sounds all day.

15. Five days in advance, tell your friends you can't attend their party because you're not in the mood.

16. Have your coworkers address you by your wrestling name, Rock Hard Kim.

17. When the money comes out the ATM, scream "I won!", "I won!"
"3rd time this week!!!!!"

18. When leaving the zoo, start running towards the parking lot, yelling "run for your lives, they're loose!!"

19. Tell your children over dinner. "due to the economy, we are going to have to let one of you go."

And the final way to keep a healthy level of insanity.......

20. Send this e-mail to everyone in your address book, even if they sent it to you or asked you not to send them stuff like this.

Good Friday Morning All:wave:

Just got in from my 4.5 miles. Boy, do I stink! Still hotter than all heck out there, but have to say, it's a gorgeous day out! We are keeping a sharp eye out in the tropics on Hurricane Isabelle. It better find something to turn it north and away from us otherwise we are going to be in some major trouble in these parts. I think the whole state is looking at this one. It's a category 5 packing 160 mph winds with gusts of 200mph. I've been through Andrew, I sure don't need this, nor does anyone else.

Sad to hear about JOHN RITTER passing away yesterday-he was too young. Grew up watching him. Was just watching a movie last night with him in it, TADPOLE.

My computer woes continue. MICHAEL'S friend said he can't do anything til Monday to see if he can save the stuff on the computer. Even though we should get the recovery disks today I won't be able to install them til we can get the stuff off of it to save, or at least try. The laptop gets worse by the minute and it's driving me crazy!

I have a crap load of stuff to do today before yoga class so I want to get in some replies while I have the time...

PANCHO, nope, no virus, it's actually a problem with microsoft. Not exactly sure all the info about it but the guy that we spoke to said 10 of every 100 calls are with this problem. Of course, most get fixed with the first disk they sent, but no:nono: I had to be one of the lucky ones it didn't help! Def. have DD take a pic of you - would love to finally put a name and face together!

ANGE, why not use ground flax seed instead - can't imagine taking the oil, sounds icky! Don't worry about the challenges, DEB has a problem with meeting some of those challenges as well:shrug:

CHRIS, sounds like you're doing great with the exercise this week so far - are you getting more in to it little by little? That's funny, of all the HFS I could find, the one I tell you about is the one you already know about. There's a ton in the Tampa area. Glad you liked the brown rice - I love it! Not that I eat it all that often though. I'll search for the recipes to post them when I get a chance. Will be going to my sisters house later, or I should say hopefully and will try to relpy to your e-mail, otherwise, give me a buzz tonight, will be home- ALONE!

COUNTRY, pizza sounds yummy and the little bit of sugar it calls for is okay, but do know you can use agave in it's place if you wanted to. Was the crust crispy or softer?

JEC, I always dreamed of being more blonde:) I love white blonds-the hair is just so pretty. That's my nephew! I'm hoping with having this 8.0 AOL that I won't lose my addresses or favorites. I think I'll loose my mail waiting to be sent though, which is where I have at on of info saved in there, esp. recipes!!!:(

HEART, wow, you're the first person I've heard that didn't like Chicago. I saw a movie last night called ELLING, foreign film, which I liked. Sorry to hear you have a terrible MIL-she's really missing out in life without being involved with your family - that's sad.

BOB, yep, we're watching the tropics as I mentioned. We better not get it cause you'll get something from it too for sure if we do! The reason you colors aren't coming out right, you aren't closing the brackets when you are typing, simple adjustment:) Who do you think is going to win BB? Who of the last 3 do you want? At this point, I say Robert!

TEENSY, hope you hear from DS and that all is okay. No matter what their age, you always worry, even when they say you shouldn't. Good job on the exercise this week:bravo: Beans are actually a starch and protein combined. Why not journal for a day or two and see where you can tweak your intake?

MONET, you sound busy and hurried these days. Too much on your plate - heck, you're sounding more like SEF!!! Try not to wear yourself out-you surely don't need to get sick.

BEACH, sorry to hear you're having a rough time but glad to know you're doing a bit better, and you will each day. You've come too far to give up and I know you won't. Besides, you said you and me were going to get back to goal together, so I'm counting on you to be around to help, and as you know, we're all here to help you too:)

JACKK, sounds like you're a busy beaver! Have a great weekend!

TONI, glad to see you checking in:)

Okay gals, I'm outta here for now. Will check back later!

Have a great weekend!!

Good morning all:

I thought I'd get a post in while I can. I wa awakened at 6:15 this morning to some loud alarm sound, and still can't figure out what it was. It was not the smoke alarm; it might have been the carbon monoxide alarm, but nothing indicating that. It was really strange. Oh well, I'll have DH check everything out later when he gets home.

Monet: Don't beat yourself up; it could have been far worse. You are human.

beach: You've had a rough time of it for awhile now; just try to re-focus and get back on track. Tell these "people" to start ordering salads in for everyone (ha).

Deb: Hope Isabelle re-routes and you stay out of her path. Good luck with the computer; it sure sounds like a hassle. These things that are supposed to make our lives easier (cell phones, computers, vehicles) are sometimes more trouble than they are worth. Is your Osterizer a 10-speed or 14-speed? I did jump on e-bay to check a few out, and I found some starting around $5. I wouldn't want to pay too much since shipping is going to be $10-12. What do they retail for....around $40?

Teensy: Has son made it home or called you yet? I sure hope so; it's not fun worrying about a loved one.

Jack: You're doing such a fantastic job; keep up the great work!!

Well, better go eat some shredded wheat with blueberries. I will check in a bit later. I am going to try to get to the gym today when DD is in school.

Take care!

Hello everyone.

Ok, all of you e-bayer's tell me something. Didn't there used to be a way to watch one of the auctions? There's one on there that has an old Strawberry Shortcake cake pan that I really want for Kerri's birthday at the end of this month, but it still has over 6 days to go. It's a really good auction, there's 11 cake pans and it's just at $9.99.

Deb, I had no idea John Ritter died. That just goes to show my T.V. stays on cartoons. I hope you don't loose your addresses, and I hope you are able to get everything else backe up too. It's definately a pain to loose everything. That hurricane needs to go far out into the ocean. I've never lived anywhere where they are, but I have been through tornados, granted they aren't near as bad, but still bad enough.

Ok, my mom is on the messanger and I gotta go talk to her for a while. I'll check back later.

It is rainy outside this morning. That cool front is slowly making it's way here. We were able to get out this morning...woo hoo 5 miles for a total of 43 for the week. We did so good we decided to take tonight off as well as the weekend. That's what we say but both of us start to get antsy after a bit.

Deb...the pizza was light and chewy on the inside slighty crunchy on the outside. If I had cooked it longer it would have been more crunchy.

Jackie..WTG on the walking and weights. I NEED to do weights but just don't know where to begin. I'm not good without a video or someone showing me. But Lawana and I both said we were gonna try to start with the hand weights this weekend...I prbably won't but that is the goal..LOL

Bob...you coulda had some pizza if ya had just came a little sooner...these monkies devoured it. They ask me to make some more today..yeah...it passed their taste test.

Jenn...you can back up your emails and favorites at yahoo. Yes they still have auction watch. It should be on the part that says my ebay...or your ebay..something like that.

Poncho......hope you find the source of the alarm and all is okay.

Toni..so glad you are feeling better...((hugzz))

Teensy...don't our kids know we are programed to worry when we don't hear from them. :) praying you hear from him soon.

ChrisD....you're welcome. I hope your kiddo like it. Stir fry sounds good. I like the brown rice...I won't pretend I like it as much as white but I've grown used to it. My sister gave me a little basamati to try...I can't wait...cause it looks like white :D

((((Beach)))) How very scary...praying for you during this stressful time.

Morning Monet! Hope you have a great day. I hope you aren't so busy you don't have time for lunch and dinner again.

Well, my bubbles are waiting. Stormy make me a bubble bath...the road was pretty muddy this morning. :)

Love,

Good morning everyone!

Teensybean: my tomato sauce: we went out and picked plum tomatoes at a pick your own farm near us and I cooked them in a pot with water. Then drained out the water and whatever excess liquid was in there from the tomatoes splitting open. Used my potato masher and crushed them all up. Let them cook on low for awhile, added fresh basil, garlic and oregano(from my herb pot).
Let it cook some more. Picked out a few chucks that were green(some of the tomatoes had a green end). Added fresh red bell pepper(sweet!). Now, depending on if you like your tomatoes chunky, and how long you have to cook them, you can do a couple of things. Cook them for a while longer and let the liquid cook off, put it in a freezer container and squirrel it away in said freezer. Or, you can cheat a little bit, and get the no-sigar added, no-salt added tomato sauce and/or paste and ad that it to make it a little thicker(I think I used Hunts), let it cook for awhile and then do the freezer container thing. It comes out very yummy! No sugar, low sodium and full of tomato flavor. Hope that helps. I've done it this was for years, just wish I could do more...

have a great day everyone!

Good afternoon!!:)

Just got done with excersise. 5days in a row! I even did weights.

I have a jelly or jam question...does anyone use Polaners? or does anyone know of a good legal jelly or jam??

TEENSY - I bought Uncle Bens Brown Rice. It came in a 2lb bag. But I'm pretty sure it was less than $2. I really liked it. Unless its just in my head, cause its either eat that and like it or nothing!:) Did you get your 5th day in?

DEB - Cant say Im getting into it more. I just know I have to do it...especially now that Im posting. Very sad about John Ritter. Loved the Friday Funny!:) Im gonna go to the HFS near my house tomorrow. Im sure I will be calling you from there. Let me know exactly what you get when you turn your computer on, my husband is very good with computers maybe he can give some input.

COUNTRY - When you try the Basmati rice, send a post about it...I almost bought it last weekend, but wasnt sure about it.

Going to a friends house for pizza tonight...Im gonna bring a salad with me, maybe eat the top of a slice. Not looking forward to pizza staring me in the face. But I can guarantee I wont slip up...Im too too into this woe! Wish me luck! :)

have a good Friday!

Good Afternnon to everyone. I have been mainly posting on the South Beach forum, because I chose to try SouthBeach as a way to break off my plateau. I have been on SugarBusters for close to 3 years and feel that it is truly the only lifestyle for me. So, anyway I am back to SugarBusters 100% and just thought I would re-introduce myself. ( Some of the SouthBeach concepts were the exact same as Sugarbusters, and I did learn a few tools to incorporate back into my routine). I guess I just came to the realization...Why fix what isn't broken??? Look forward to chatting with you all.

Me again:)

Just got finished eating a pot pie. I think I'm going over-board with them, it's every day and if ELI is at work and I have nothing else, 2 times a day! Lucky for me it only takes 28 minutes to cook them!

Went to the bank, to the grocery store and was going to go to my sisters but she's having to get the kids early to go to a Dr. appt., so that idea was scrapped. Going to stop at another store before I get MICHAEL to get some bleach that's on sale - my front patio is icky and I'm planning on trying to clean it up a bit.

Going to catch up with the replies while I have the chance...

PANCHO, the Oster I have is actually 16 speed. Remember, it's old. I wouldn't bother getting one on Ebay, I think the shipping could be a killer and plus, you don't know how the blade or seal is on it. THey have some new ones that I've seen that are a blender and food processor in one, if you need that. Otherwise, I'd just shop around. If you can wait, wait for the holidays, you'll surely be able to find one at a good price then.

JEC, I think tornados can be worse than a hurricane, but usually we have tornados with hurricanes. At least with hurricanes we have time to prepare, not with tornados. We've been lucky the last 11 years so I wonder if our good luck is running out now. The only thing we can do is just wait and see where they think this thing is headed.

COUNTRY, good for you with the walking, that's awesome mileage you put in! I'm sure if I tried the pizza recipe I'd be throwing it in the garage - no matter how hard I try, things like that never come out right for me.

CHRIS, you go girl!:cp: 5 days - awesome!!! I don't use much in the way of jelly but I buy this brand that use to be JOKnAL but is now under the KETO brand. You could also make your own, very easy to do! Have fun at the HFS tomorrow and def. call me if you have any questions, probably will be hitting some garage sales in the AM, so will have my cell phone. Tell hubby thanks but I figure if HP can't help, who can? Waiting for those disks and hoping to get this resolved early next week. You'll do great tonight, I'm sure. Your head is screwed on straight, and besides, you have that terrible image of me in your head:devil:

DAVE, not sure what your ultimate goal weight is but I think around 185-190 possibly? I wouldn't eat less than 2200 calories for someone such a yourself that's very active. You should get about 9-10 servings of starches a day. Many people try to stick to the generalization of 2-3 starchy carbs a day, but I truly think that's for someone following 1200 calories and not someone who'd eat more. You can't group us all eating the same things and amounts, that's for sure:)

JACKIE, http://members.aol.com/eldemila/sb_sign1.jpg Glad you've decided to join us:D Please let us know what you found helpful in the SOBE WOE that you can use doing SB. When you get a chance, please let us know a little more about you and your experiences with SB. FRUIT just LOVEEEES NO! Wait til she sees that there's someone else from her area!!!

Okay, for those of you who asked, here's the recipe for
DEB'S CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE & one for the BLINTZ LOAF:

DEBS CRUSTLESS CHEESECAKE

2 packages Philadelphia Brand 1/3 Less Fat Cream Cheese
1/2 cup agave syrup, (you can actually use 1-2tbl less)
3 eggs
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp lemon juice

Spray a 7" cake pan with cooking spray. Cut a circular piece of parchment paper to fit in the bottom of the pan. Spray the top of the paper.

Bring cream cheese to room temperature in a medium size bowl. Cream with a mixer. Add the agave syrup and mix on low speed, just til blended. Add both the vanilla and lemon juice and blend in. Add one egg at a time, beating on low stpeed til mixed in before adding the next one.

Pour mixture into pan and put in a 325 degree preheated oven. Place cheesecake in oven and bake for approx 40 minutes, or until lightly browned on top and it looks set. Remove from oven and let cool for about 30-45 minutes. Place in fridge for at least 3 hours. I invert my cake over a plate and tap the bottom of the pan with a knife to get it to come out, nice and clean. Peel off the parchment paper and then turn it back the right way on a serving dish. You can also serve it right out of the pan, just don't eat the parchment paper!!! ENJOY!

NOTE: You could most likely use a small springform pan, like a 7 1/2" one if they have that size, but I don't have one at this time, so used what I had available, a small cake pan. I also put a pan of water on the rack underneath to help it from cracking, which it never did-not sure if this helped, or not.

If you are going to double the recipe use a 9 1/2" springform pan as well as measuring the agave to 3/4 cup. If you want to keep it from cracking on the top, go to either of the sites below for directions on hot to do a WATERBATH.

http://www.pdxnet.net/cookbook/cheesecaketips.html

http://www.baking911.com/howto_waterbath_prepare.htm

I have made this numerous times with wonderful results as well as rave reviews!!!
*******************
This tastes a lot like cheesecake!

BLINTZ LOAF

1/4 cup butter, melted
3 ouces cream cheese
1 ound cottage cheese
3 eggs, lightly beaten
1/2 tsp lemon juice
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 cup WW pastry flour
1/2 tsp baking powder
4-6 tablespoons agave
cinnamon

Combined the butter, cheeses and eggs in a blender or with an electric mixer. Add the lemon juice, vanilla, flour, baking powder and agave syrup. Pour into a buttered 8x8 baking pan. Dust with cinnamon. Bake in a preheated 325 degree oven for about 40-50 minutes or until nicely browned. Serve with sour cream or yogurt.

Gotta run!

Hi all:

Just wanted to jump on real quick before I leave for the afternoon:

Country: I think I might try your pizza tonight. my DH is going to a baseball game, so it will just be me & the kids. My DD can help me make the crust. Can I use stone ground ww pastry flour? Would the amounts be about the same, do you think? Also, do you have a heart monitor that measures distance, calories, etc....if so, where did you get it? Have a great day!

chrisd: Monet uses Polaners. I just look when I am at the organic food store for those jams/jellies that say "no added sugar." Great job on your exercise this week.

JackieO: Welcome back to SB; we're glad to have you here.

Deb: How do you manage to get a pot pie to cook in 28 minutes? I have to pick some more up....I'm completely out, and like to have those as a staple.

Have a great day....I gotta run!!

DEB - Do you mean a store bought pot pie??? Or do you make your own???

PANCHO - Thank you.

I should be working but here I am playing at my computer again. The kids are here with me playing a video game. Enjoying their rainy day break from school

Poncho...yes I use a pedometer from wal-mart. I measure the distance against a few knowns. Example..it's .5 from my drive way to the mail box.....and the road next to my house is .25 one way. And then I set my stride so that my steps added up to those. And I check it from time to time to make sure it's not giving me extra clicks..LOL It also does calories and steps. I don't put much stock in the calories but it's neat. You put in your height and weight. Lawana got them for us about 6 weeks ago. I use to have one of those with the lifetime battery but it died. :) Hope you enjoy the pizza.

Deb...I've made that cheesecake of yours and I can't stop at one serving....the blintz sounds just as wonderful.

JackieO...Welcome. I look forward to getting to know you better.

Not exactly a jam or jelly but really easy. If you like apple or pumpkin you can make a butter out of them. You just peel and cook the fruit down with some agave or splenda...you don't have to have any sweetner if the apples are very sweet. I do add a little water. While they are cooking add some pumpkin or apple pie spice. Cook down till a nice spreading consistency.

Love,
Crystle

debelli- the thing about southBeach that I found the most helpful was the limiting of the carbohydrates. I think after being on Sugar Busters for so long, I lost sight of portion size and starchy carb servings. I assumed if it was brown, I could eat as much as I wanted. So now that I am back on SugarBusters, I am limiting my serving of starchy crabs to 1 a day. This seems to work best for me. Anymore than that and I begin a Carb Fest, consisting of 1-3 days of eating crap...haha. Well I am glad to be back, not like I was ever really gone, but back into Sugar Busters full force!!

Thanks for the Welcomes..

Friday afternoon....wish I had a funny to post, but I don't.

Worked this morning...and my manager had posted next week's schedule. He had me working four days. When I pointed out to him I could not work on Thursday, he took me off but did not put me on Friday. He acted mad at me. Sheesh! I told him I was going to be teaching a class on Thursdays! Sometimes, I have to talk myself into staying. He makes the job unpleasant a lot.

Tonight, we are going to an art gallery at a church. I am looking forward to seeing what kinds of art work they get for these kinds of things. With my new responsibilities, I am going to have to organize and oversee these kinds of events.

Time for a little nap! Sweet dreams!

Hello again everyone.

How in the world do you stop a child from sucking their thumb? This kid won't be able to write in school next year because she's got that thumb permanently in her mouth.

I think I've been good today. I had oatmeal for breakfast with a cup of o.j. and for lunch I had some left over meatloaf from yesterday and some "spanish rice" I made the day before yesterday and a pickle that my mom made from fresh cukes out of the garden. I have no clue what's for dinner! I sure wish there was a place around here where I could find those pot pies y'all keep talking about. All I can find in this little crappy place are the illegal ones.

Well the girls will be home in a couple of minutes and I have to get the to clean their rooms. I might be able to check back later on today and if not I'll see y'all Monday.

Hey, guys! Just killing time until Ashley gets home from school- then we have to go pay bills and go to the grocery store. Man, are we going to be broke afterwards. Anyway, I'm really sad to hear about John Ritter's passing- so unexpected. They are saying it may have even been an undiagnosed CHD-the only thing confirmed is that it was a tear in his aorta. CTS- I got up this morning and stepped on the scales- it's up one pound, but I believe it's fluid. I ate too much salty protein yesterday and have done it today also. I started doing my floor exercises 2 days ago- my butt is literally sore. Maybe if I keep at it, I will eventually see some results. Well, Ashley should be here any minute now- OH, Boogie is doing well. His appetite has really picked up. Just a little nasal congestion and a little cough- but it doesn't seem to be getting any worse.

I'm borrowing this from RUTHXXX over on the LC BOARD!!!

The miracle of toilet paper

Fresh from my shower, I stand in front of the mirror, complaining to my husband that my breasts are too small. Instead of characteristically telling me it's not so, he uncharacteristically comes up with a suggestion.

"If you want your breasts to grow, then every day take a piece of
toilet paper and rub it between your breasts for a few seconds."
Willing to try anything, I fetch a piece of toilet paper and stand in
front of the mirror, rubbing it between my breasts.

"How long will this take?" I ask?

They will grow larger over a period of years," he replies.

I stop. "Do you really think rubbing a piece of toilet paper between my breasts every day will make my breasts larger over the years?"

Without missing a beat he says, "Worked for your butt, didn't it?"

He's still alive, and with a great deal of therapy, may even walk
again.

Stupid, stupid man.

Just a quickie....

When I went to p/u MICHAEL from school his name, along with 6 others, was scrolling across the bulletin board and I was wondering why. He is a semi-finalist for some National Merit Scholarship Award. Don't know the specifics but it's according to his PSAT scores from last year. Seems it's a great honor just to be nominated, much less win. He has to now write an essay and hand it in on Monday:crossed:

CHRIS, parchment paper is similar to wax paper without the wax. I actually use wax paper for the cheesecake. The pot pies are to die for! You have to make sure you get the ones that are NOT organic. There's turkey and chicken but I prefer the turkey.

PANCHO, the jet stream oven comes to my rescue!!! Takes 28 minutes to cook it. Only takes me about 12-15 minutes to cook chicken breasts. As I said before, can't live without this appliance. I see AMAZON has a new model out - will have to watch for that one at a garage sale!

COUNTRY, now you know when I talk about the cheesecake why I can't make it - it's addicting and ooooooh so good!

JACKIE, if starchy carbs set you off then you probably are best off to limiting yourself. Hard to do if you have a lot to lose as many do, to be able to fill your minimum caloric requirements with other stuff. But hey, I saw, whatever works - we're all so different:) Did you reach your goal over these 3 years? If not, how much more would you like to lose?

MONET, sounds like your Mgr has a bug up his butt and a case of Alzheimers!

DAVE, see how you do with those numbers. If you need more help, or clarification, just e-mail me @ Debelli@AOL.com.:)

JEC, hmmm, thumb questions - how bout a finger puppet? Something that tastes icky, though when I put that stuff on LAUREN'S nails to keep her from biting them, it didn't work:shrug:

HEART, glad to know BOOGIE is feeling better. Girl, stay off that scale!!!

Friday evening.... Just got in from the art gallery. It was interesting. Some of the work was great, other stuff so so, but then, that is just the way with art. Someone else may agree with me, but their so so would be my great, and vice versa! ;)

Another day of not feeling much like eating. My throat is a bit raw tonight, so maybe that is the reason...I am coming down with something. Oh joy! I sure hope it is not mono again!

Good Friday evening/night:

I thought I'd jump on for a few minutes. I just got the kids to bed, and want to jump in the shower and get the dishes cleaned up before hubby gets home from Diamondback's game. I don't get on much over the weekend, so just wanted to tell everyone to have a great weekend, and I hope to read up on everyone on Monday.

I just heard that Subway got some new salads! I never liked getting a salad there because they served that terrible iceberg lettuce. I just heard a commercial the other night stating they had an Atkins friendly spinach salad now; can't wait to try it out. Has anyone had it yet? If so, what'd you think?

Country: Didn't you say that you have 7 in your family? Do you have 5 children? Maybe I'm getting you mixed up with someone else, but I do have to say that these recipes that I get from you are big enough to feed a small army (ha). I love it; I now have leftovers for dinner tomorrow night. Of course, my DH wasn't home tonight to eat, and he usually makes a sizable dent, but there is plenty for tomorrow. I think next time I will let the crust cook a tad longer, but overall great; I think I'll use the crust for lots of things! Thanks for the recipe. Do you remember the cost of the pedometer? I'm thinking of putting one on my christmas list, or splurging and buying one for myself.

jecrites: NOT A RECOMMENDATION, but wanted to tell you a story about thumb-sucking. My now 5-year old used to suck her thumb (only her left one though). She would hold her blankie with her right hand and suck her left thumb. A month after she turned 3, she was playing on the couch cushions on the floor, and fell and landed wrong on her arm. She fractured her left elbow, and couldn't suck it the entire time that the cast was on (about 4-5 weeks). She never went back to sucking her thumb when she got the cast off. It was a security thing for her, and she was able to get past it during that time. Isn't that funny? She also gave up her daytime nap at the same time since she didn't have the thumb to help her get to sleep. I've heard many people try EVERYTHING and nothing seems to work until they are ready.

heart: Glad to hear Boogie is doing better. The pound is probably water weight. I fluctuate a few pounds by the day, it seems.

Deb: Congrats & good luck to Michael; you should be so proud. That jet stream oven sounds heavenly.

chrisd: Way to steer clear of the pizza and eat those healthy greens; you should be very proud. Pretty soon, it won't even bother you to do that; it will just come natural. I don't miss that stuff much anymore.

Better go clean up the dishes and myself.

Have a great, wonderful on-plan weekend!!!

Good Friday night all-- We have been gone most of the day today. So this will be short with only replies;

Jack-k-- We understand the being busy.....catch up with us when you can. We miss you. You have had a great week looks like as far as eating and exercise. Congratulations!

Toni-- Glad that you are feeling better. Take it easy, and we will see you on Monday. Bless my Mother for taking the time to teach me the canning, and the hints on gardening too.

Deb-- I journal every weekday with fitday. Don't do the weekends because alot of times I am not where I can measure my foods correctly. Here are my stats for the last few days;

Wednesday;

12g mono
184g carbs.....32%
54g fiber.....again, wow!

45g Fat.........28%
11g SFat
3g Poly
6g Mono
174g Carbs.....38%
38g fiber
121g protein.....34%

Managed to get my calories up for the last few days. Monday was only 1293 on calories. Today's eating was not too good, too many peanuts on the go. Don't know why I seem to be craving the peanuts and peanut butter. I didn't even like peanut butter before. I am ony eating 2 servings of starchy carbs, one serving of fiber one in the mornings, and a slice of homemade WW bread at lunch. Do you think I should go down to one serving??

Fantastic news about Michael. Best of luck to him.

Pancho-- No word yet from number 2 son. His dear Mommy is about ready to do unspeakable harm to him once I see him!!

Jec-- Can't help with the e-bay question......I have never been on it until yesterday, scoping it out. Don't feel bad, I haven't been able to find the pot pies yet either. They sure sound good though, don't they??

Heart-- No word yet......glad that Boogie is feeling better. I used to hate it when my babies were sick.

Country-- I can't believe the milage you are racking up. You have more miles on you this week than I have put on my car. LOL. You are very inspiring. Keep up the great work!!

Woodfrog-- Thanks for sharing your recipe with me. I finally found a couple on the internet. I am going to process mine in pint jars. I use quite abit during the winter so this should work out pretty good to use up the last of our tomatoes. Mom has about had it this year with canning, so after the sauce, they will just go to the family to eat.

Chris-- Hey we both made it with 5 full days this week!! Patting us on the back....pat, pat, pat. I have never liked rice, do you think it is worth it for me to try it again? I am eating alot of foods now that I didn't used to eat. Taste have changed alot since getting the sugar out.

Jackieo-- Welcome back. You are right, this is a great way of life.

Monet-- Didn't you have the same conversation with your manager the last time he scheduled you on a Thursday?? What doesn't he understand?? Glad you had fun at the gallery.

Superdave-- We hope that you will stick around here with us. This really is a terrific way of eating.

BOB-- Would you like a turn at my Ds, as soon as I am done with him?? Still no word.

Hope you all have a great week-end, and I will pop on when I get the chance. We have a double birthday party tomorrow for a couple of four year olds!! I am making some kind of salad with all of our fresh veggies. See ya!

I was so ready to sleep in this morning and my son thought he would bless me by doing the dishes....LOL I don't sleep sound enough for all the clanking..:)

So here I sit reading email and drinking my one morning cup of coffee. Quite time is almost as nice as sleeping time.

Poncho..you are correct I do have a small army. :D I have five children. 3 boys and two girls....My oldest boy is 18. Between my husband and my oldest two boys, they can lay some hurt on some groceries. My youngest son(6) and my daughter (16) are not big eaters. The rest take up the slack. I don't know how much the pedometer cost because it was a gift. But I'm sure it wasn't that much. The usually range around 10-20 dollars around here. I'm glad you liked the pizza. I will have to share the bread recipe next time I make it. It's very good also.

Deb..congratulations to Michael! I bet you are very proud. I'm sorry that your AC is out this morning. I hope it's something very simple to fix.

Teensy.....thank you. This week it really wiped me out. I started taking my vitamins again last night. I think too much walking and not enough eating is catching up with me. I hope you hear from your son soon. All this talk about peanut butter has had my mouth watering for a peanut butter sandwich. The power of suggestiong..LOL But alas, no wheat bread in the house.....what's a girl to do. :)

Chris....WTG passing on the pizza!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are strong! Great food choice with the chef salad.

Heartmom...glad your little sweetie is feeling better.

Dave....isn't this cool weather awesome! You'll get to goal. Is your wife following SB also?

Well gotta scoot. Hope everyone makes good choices today. Remember this is a way of life not a diet. Saturdaysand Sundays are just another day of the week. :D Now, if I can just remember that.

Love,
Crystle

Hi All.... Happy Saturday.

The weather today is beautiful. Bright sunshine and low humidity. But it is warm out so not as cool as it had been.

Well this week is officially a bad week for me eating wise. I still journaled and it shows I am over on calories about 2600...oh well. Probably will not do too good on weigh in :?: Hubby and I tried a new restraunt last night it was, good, too expensive and we ate too much. On the nights we don't have the children it is so rare...we tend to splurge and do something fun. Well last night was one of those nights but today I am paying for it with headache, nasuea, and feeling reall achy. I knew it but ate the food any way:mad: To top it off it is the TOM:mad: I wonder if that is why I've had such a bad week:lol:

My mood is better.

Debbie...I know that you are hurting with out AC. Miami without AC in September is unbearable. Hope you have some fans. I would have to go out and buy some.

Monet...I would say something to the store manager about your schedule or your boss's boss. Sounds like your boss is trying to make you work on Thursdays. Since you are part-time...he should not be doing that. I predict if you don't say something he will keep on trying to schedule you on Thursdays and it is not worth the aggravation that your having.

BOB...is your money on VANDY? Mine might be

Well have to run...I will try to keep up next week with everyone's posts.

Hello everyone... Just popping in for a minute. Did anyone watch Dr. Phil and Katie Couric last night on Dateline. It was pretty good and I enjoyed it. Gave me lots to think about. I would like to read Dr. Phil's book on weight. But it really made me think about portion control. I think mine are getting away from me. A little bigger and bigger. So I cut back starting this morning. Its cool and gloomy out today and has rained allot. This might be a good day for Bob's spicey bean soup.... Hope you all are having a good Saturday...

HiedieHo All!

Here I am! A total failure! I will neveer be thinner. I can't seem to get my act together. Of course, the more it falls apart so do I.

I think I will wander off into the sunset for a while. I am no help to others when I can't help myself. So I will be missing while I try to get myself under control.

Thank you all for all your help in the past.

Take care, Shirley

Morning! It sure felt good to sleep in this morning! I am sitting here, sipping on my second cup of coffee, and hoping I can get caught up with the boards! I got a newsletter from Mercola.com, and enjoyed reading that. There is a lot of very good information on his site. I read one on coconut oil, and I think I will go to the HFS and see if they have any organic coconut oil to try. One of its benefits is that it is very good for the skin, and supposedly repairs damage. If it can make me look younger, I'll take it! I have also read reports that is supports thyroid function. I can sure use that....

I started this post early this morning, and then got distracted by a friend stopping by, then I had to run out to my music class that started today. It is a class being taught by the director of worship and arts at church. He is a young, very talented young man, who went to the Cleveland Inst. of Music, and played for the ASYO, and the Naples, FL. Philharmonic Orchestra. The class it going to be wonderful! He is teaching us to read music, and music theory and history. Fun stuff!

PANCHO & JECRITES: I too have a store about thumb sucking. My older daughter sucked her thumb, and nothing seemed to stop her. When she was about five or six, we were at some friends house, and she and their daughter were playing. They were in different rooms, and both thought to tell the other something and ran out into the hall, and smack into each other. My daughters two front teeth were knocked straight back by the other girl's forehead. Long and short of it, she could not suck her thumb with the teeth like that, and cried all the way to the dentist for emergency treatment. The roots were already dissolving for her to lose them, so they had to pull them. I guess it felt weird to her, and hurt some, so she could not suck her thumb, and by the time it was healed, she was over the habit. I agree with you, Pancho, they stop when they are ready. I believe my brother sucked his thumb way too long...mainly when he was watching TV...like until he was in his teens. The more my mom tried to get him to stop, the more he did it. Once they get some peer pressure about it, they stop. :)

COUNTRY: Don't you love it when the kids want to help? My daughter likes to clean for me, but I can't be home when she does it, or I have to be asleep. She does a great job, but I don't get the part about my having to be out or asleep?!

DEB: Sorry about the a/c. If you lived here, I would send my friend over, and he would probably fix it for free. Hope Michael wins the NM. It is quite an honor just to be a finalist. Tom was a semi finalist, and even that is a high honor.

TEENSY: Yes, I did have the same conversation with my manager two weeks ago. And he was mad at me then too! He is just that way....I think it bothers him that I really don't care what he thinks. I don't NEED to work. I just like to. You know? :)

BOB: I hope you slept well last night. What is your opinion on the movies? I don't watch many...once I like one, I tend to rewatch it. :) That is how I have managed to watch the six hour Pride &Prejudice about 20 times!

CHRISD: Good for you, passing on the pizza! It gets easier, doesn't it? You can make ww pizza crust, and make your own legal pizza, too. I don't do it too often though. I always over indulge!

HEART: I am glad Boogie is on the mend! I admire you doing floor exercises! I have never been able to keep at them! I did work with weights for a while, but as soon as I get sick, I have to stop. (I have Lupus...) Then I never seem to get motivated again.

SUPERDAVE: I am going to try and make it through the weekend with no cheats. Sometimes, it is not easy. This weekend maybe better, since my 17 year old seems to have hidden the chips!

JACKIEO: Welcome! I am glad you joined us! I have not read the South Beach diet, but heard it was a lot like SugarBusters. I like SB, and find it easy to follow. I used to do Atkins, but could not lose on it. I think I just need more carbs than it allows. Who knows? I do have thyroid problems, and that may have been the reason. At any rate, hop right in! We love a crowd here!

I probably missed some...and I apologize. I can only scroll down so far, and so there are posts I can't read. If I missed you, you are welcome to tell me off, so I won't miss you next time! ;)

Have a good weekend, everyone!

SEF: Just went back and found your post. Don't go missing on us. I tried that, and it doesn't work. Just keep on getting on here, reading and working at it. We don't want you just for your help! We just plain love YOU, thin or fat, good or bad. (though we all love your naughty humor! haha!) The Bible says bad company corrupts good morals. I imagine the reverse is true too...good morals can influence corrupt ones to be better. You are afterall, the company you keep. Hopefully, those who are doing well on here can be an inspiration to you. Hop on the wagon, tighten the seat belt, and stay on for the ride! <hugs>

BOB: What about the Dawgs? I get the feeling you don't like them! :( I probably need to find out who they are playing on my own, huh?

BEACH: I do agree that my manager is playing some kind of game with me. The politics at this store are very complicated. I am going to ride it out and see what happens for now. If he keeps scheduling me on Thursdays, he is the one who is going to lose out. He had to redo the schedule when I told him. At least he is not trying to force me to work....

THE DAWGS are playing SOUTH CAROLINA
today, and I'm pulling for THE COCKS!!!

The movies were GREAT...you should get them...you'll like them!

I've started drinking my unsweetened cranberry concentrate today...it's really good for you,
and when mixed with water and some sweetener, it's wonderful!

The Dr PHIL show was really good. I'm usually not a fan of his, but he really made some good points...something to really think about...if you missed it...you missed out!

Well it has been awhile since I came on to this board. I am trying to make the switch from Low-carb to SB so I feel very secure on the basics. The biggest change will be lower fat, milk, fruit and what bread products to eat. I have read the book, understand in general, but am sure I will have questions as I learn the intracacies of a new WOE. I have the mindset that SB is alot like the maintenance level of a LC plan because I will be learning to introduce healthy grains back in my diet.

I currently weigh 135 on a 5'4" small frame. I would like to lose about 8 - 10 lbs, but am more interested in a well-balanced food choice lifestyle. I am looking forward to your input as I am learning.

WELCOME VICKIE you will get all the help
you need on this board.

Sef:
Toni48 is right you can do it and even if you want to quite, why would you leave such great people that's on this board.
The right answer is be like a postage stamp because you have to stick to it to get there.. Life is and can be tough and we have to be the same way. God promise's us not to give us more than we can bear, somtimes we thing he is streching it , but he never does, when you feel alone and see only one set of foot prints in the sand, it's not yours, it God's he's caring you. YOU CAN YOU CAN,
REMEMBER the book about the train that say I can I can I can. I do not know your background but with your permission I will add you to my prayer list. Let's do this together as a group and friends,. :) :dizzy: that's me when I am confussed. this is the guy tht's giving you this confussion. Please let us help.

Evening, everyone! We went out to Bridgetown for dinner, and I did fairly well. I passed on the rice, and had black beans and steamed broccoli with my Kingston chicken. It was kind of a jerk style chicken, only milder. I was ok, but I probably won't want to go there again. I like Carribbean and Jamaican foods, but tonight it just did not sit well in my tummy.

I got in the pool for a while today. Boy is it cold! The weather has cooled off a bit, especially at night, and the pool water responded pretty quickly! I like it cold, so I will probably be getting in more!

My daughter and I went to Costco today. I can't believe how much I spent! I did get a Christmas present for my daughter...a collection of Johnny Cash CDs...and a good book on artists and their self portraits. The Johnny Cash CD will be a nice thing to have, especially since he died yesterday. What a legend he was!

I emailed Quilter this morning and got a reply this afternoon. She is doing well, she says, and hopes to be back to the board soon.

Its about time to toddle off to beddie bye. Sweet dreams!

Hello to all!

Thanks to everyone for the pizza encouragment. It was hard but I did it. I think next weekend I will try to make my own with the ww crust. Tonight I made Debs Cheescake and it was to die for. It tastes like real cheesecake. I am eating it as we speak. It is soooooo good!
Tomorrow I will be at the Bucs vs Carolina game. Its gonna be a tough eating day, and the beer will be tempting but I will try my best! First home game after the Superbowl so it should be exiting!:dancer:

TEENSY - WTG on the 5 days. As far as the rice goes..I would sa if you dont like rice to begin with then I dont think you will like the brown rice. But, I dont know. Maybe they sell a small bag that you can try before buying a regular 2lb bag.

DEB - Hope you enjoyed your cheesecake as much as I am enjoying mine! Glad your a/c is fixed!

Have a great Sunday everyone! :)

Saturday night, and alls well. My missing son showed up today for the birthday party! The brat has been with friends that he worked with on the boat. Why can't they just call and say I don't know when I will be home, but I am okay. All he could say was, "I know Mom, I know." Arrgghh!!

The double birthday party was nice. Rotisserie chicken, veggies, coleslaw, and pastas and garlic bread. I passed on the pastas bread and the cake and ice cream. Yeah me! But the bad news is that I only got in 949 calories today!! But I am planning on a big breakfast in the morning. I can't seem to win, can I?? But the boys (just turning 4) were so very excited when opening their gifts, it is so fun to watch kids!!

Country-- Needless to say I stayed away from the peanut butter all day today!! This and the peanuts. I think you just said it yourself......too much walking, and NOT enough eating.....you must eat to lose weight!! Think about it.

Deb-- You have had the worst luck this year. As they say....if you didn't have bad luck, you wouldn't have any!! Hope it is not too serious with the AC.

Beach-- I have said it before, and I will say it again......this is a way of life, so sometimes you have to live!!

Superdave-- Glad you are sticking around. We enjoy your input. You and my hubby would get along grand....he is not a pizza fan either. But he did like the pizza I made with WW crust!!

BOB-- Ds showed up today, and couldn't figure for the life of him, why Mom was upset. He has been staying with a friend that he was on the boat with. Not 15 miles from here, but I guess his telephone dialing finger was not working, haha!

Toni-- Hello.

Sef-- Oh Shirley....of course you are NOT a failure. Sometimes we just need some time to get it together and decide what course of action we want to take. But I do think that we can be more help to you, if you stick with us. Not coming here means that we have no communication with you, and we would like to encourage you, and support you in whatever you decide. (((((HUGS))))

Monet--Doesn't it feel good to sleep in every once in awhile. I did this morning, and it was heaven!! With working, you sure have a full plate. And yes, it probably does tick your manager off because you don't need the job. But that is his problem!!

Kindergarten-- Long time no see. Glad that you made it back. This is definitely a doable for life way of eating. And it is great!!

Chrisd-- Enjoy yourself tomorrow.

Sweet dream all.....I am going to bed.

Good Sunday Morning Everyone:wave:

Pre-warning, I'm typing in the dark, so any typos, just give me a break.

Didn't sleep well and have been up, lying in bed since 4am:shrug: I'm pooped! I'm going to get ready and go for my walk. We are going to try and get out a bit early today to go up to Broward as we usually do, but also to go see the Vatican exhibit. It's only in 4 cities in the US and Ft. Lauderdale is one of them.

A/C is fixed, at the tune of $275.00!:fr: I'm hoping Florida Power and Light will help. Still haven't gotten my new microwave yet.

Hmmmm, I think I hear thunder:?:

I don't think I'll be able to get back on til tomorrow when I start the new board. MICHAEL is in desperate need of the computer. Thanks for all your congrats for his nomination:)

Gotta run, I mean walk!

Morning!

Slept in again this morning. I still have not had breakfast yet. I may have to fix some eggs, and toast. Yesterday, I was in a rush to leave to be on time for class, and ate a quick bowl of shredded wheat. I get tired of cereal.

Last night was heaven...sleeping with the windows open, and the whole house fan on instead of the air conditioner. I love the fall!

DEB: Hope you got your walk in before it rained! I sure wish it would rain here! After a rather wet spring and early summer, it has not rained here in weeks!

TEENSY: Glad you found your son! Why do they do things like that? Mine pulls that kind of trick too. And for the life of him, can't understand why I am bothered by it! I have a friend whose daughters used to do that kind of stuff to her. Once, she went out, telling them she was going to dinner with a friend. She was planning on spending the night, and only told her son, who was an invalid so he would not worry. When she finally came home the following afternoon, the girls were beside themselves. She calmly said, well, you seem to think doing that is no big deal, so I didn't think you would notice... They never did that again! haha!

CHRISD: I hope you avoid the beer. It is really high on the GI, and to be avoided! Enjoy the game!

Ok, breakfast calls...whatever it is! ;)

Good morning everyone. Just got done making eggs in a basket for breakfast. I used good crusty sour dough bread I got from the health food store. Now I need to buckle down and get some laundry done.

Monet- Its sooo good to sleep in durning the week-end... I did both mornings too. But tomorrow starts the old 5:30 again. I love when you can turn the air off and enjoy the fall weather too.

Debilli- You're going to have a nice day I'll bet.

Teensybean- Congradulations on doing so well with your eating at the birthday party. Thats really hard when theres a big gathering. Its usually my down fall.

Chrisd- Pass a piece of that cheesecake over. Sure sounds good and I haven't made one in awhile.

SuperDave- Just a great big howdy!!!!

Guess I'll go now. Hope everyone has a great SB day.....

ATERNOON EVERY BUDDY!!!

Just got back from the grocery. Getting ready to put a pork roast in the oven. They had them buy one get one, so I've got one in the freezer for later! Still got some fresh OKRA and GREEN BEANS , and a good assortment of garden TOMATOES. I'm fixed....still thinking about grilling up some chicken breast to take for lunch this week. Picked up some cornedbeef and a head of cabbage and will fix that one night...
Still up to my eyeballs with laundry, but now all that's left if clothes, so that won't take very long!

CHRIS...We'll be watching THE BUCS this afternoon, and I know you've probably already left for the stadium, but you can always gnaw on a plain hotdog... Who knows, maybe they are stocking the low carb beer now ;)

MONET...I envy you so much to be able to open the windows. We only have a few weeks a year to do that here. I've never tried JERK anything, so I don't know if I would like it or not.
When do y'all close your pool? My Brother closes his on Labor Day weekend. Invites all the kids for the weekend and puts them to work~! :s:

I can't believe that DEB didn't tell y'all about her purchase yesterday...maybe she will tomorrow....

TEENSY...did you tell your DS that he's about to get his head knocked off? I'm 51 yrs old, my Mom lives with me and I still don't feel good about NOT telling her where I'm going and when I'll be back!

MONET....I shoulda known better bout THEM DAWGS!!!!! ...maybe I should be weary about them playing my VOLUNTEERS!!!

GATOR???????? WHERE ARE YOU??????

TONI...glad to know I'm not the only one with laundry to do ;)

VICKIE....{{{{{{{{{{{{{{WELCOME BACK}}}}}}}}}}}}} Now jump back in the wagon as I pass by your house...I've got a full load, so bring a seat belt!!!

I've got to go...FRIED GREEN TOMATOES

Well, I have a few minutes to pop on and say hello. My DH & DD are running a few errands, so I've been able to get caught up on reading posts.

As far as Deb's cheesecake, I will have to try it, but there is a recipe on the boards for a crust made with chopped almonds (or almond meal) and a little cocoa powder, and a few other ingredients, and it is really good; I've made it before. I think I will combine the two.

I have to get to Whole Foods this week to get some more Agave syrup. My MOMS Club is having a pajama party for the moms on the 25th for a few hours in the evening (just a night away from the little ones), and we have to wear our pj's and bring our favorite dessert. I am going to bring the zucchini loaf cake; and they can have their sugar-laden desserts.

Country: Thanks for the info. on the pedometer. With your family, you probably do a lot of your shopping at Costco or Sam's Club. I would like to take a look at the bread recipe the next time you make it and have the recipe out.

Teensy: I hope you gave that DS of yours an earful. You wanna yell at them and hug them at the same time. I'm glad he is o.k. The party sounds like a lot of fun.

beach: Good luck on a better upcoming week. You'll do just great.

sef: Don't give up....that is what we are here for. If you are feeling low, you don't have to offer your support, but come on for some of your own.

Monet: Wow, what a terrible way to break the thumb-sucking habit. I wish it felt like Fall here; still a little too warm for my liking.

Kindergarten: Welcome back to SB; you can easily lose the 8-10 pounds you are looking to lose, and will be eating so much healthier in the long run!

Deb: What purchase?????

Well, better go get some laundry done!

Talk to you all later.

This has been a nice quiet weekend. I think the fatigue is finally starting to leave. It's been rough in that aspect but I'm been blessed with the time to just be lazy.

We went to the store this morning and did our weekly dounut run. I wish the dounut shop still made the little egg rolls. That use to be my treat. Now I sneak one bite of apple fritter and sometimes the inside of a kolache. Made some quacomole this morning. I love the stuff. Read some good info on avacados this morning. It said they are very high in fiber. Since I'm totally lacking in that area figured I couldn't go wrong eating one of favorites. I add tons of tomotos and onions so it goes real far.

Poncho...naw, I don't shop at Sams very often. Over all their prices are higher. I sale shop. And stock up. I stuff everywhere in this tiny house. You won't be dissapointed in the cheese cake.

Oh Bob, set another plate..my mouth is a watering. Sounds like a wonderful dinner.

Toni...what are eggs in a basket? Sounds like what I made the kiddos for breakfast this morning. We make something called egg toast. You put a little butter in the pan. Put in the bread, make a little hole and drop the egg in...let it set and flip it over. Jessie ate 3! Little skinny snorker. :D

Deb....glad you have your AC up and running. Sorry about the cost. It seems like when one thing hits so does another. I think you have had more than you share.

Sef...I hope you got my email. (((hugzzz))) Hang in there.

Monet....we did the same thing last night till the dogs stirred up a skunk...out came the fans fast!

Well, I think that's it. If I ever miss replying to someone please know it wasn't on purpose. I'm a scatter brain these days. :)

Love and hugs,
Crystle

Hello everyone.

Yes it's me and on a weekend. That hardly ever happens!

Yesterday I took Katie to the library here on base to see if they had this book she's doing a book project on. They have it at school in her classroom but she's not allowed to bring it home. Makes no sense to me, but anyway, we found the book and now she's about halfway done with the project. She has to make a "story map" about what happened in the book. The instructions she has sounds like it's too complicated for a 4th grader. Anyway, the library has story time on Wednesdays at 10 for 4 and 5 year olds and I'm thinking about taking Autumn up there for that. It'll give her something neat to do while her sisters are at school.

Do y'all remember me telling you about my MIL not listening to me about SB? Well I talked to her this morning and she told me that when FIL went to see his cardiologist (sp) he had gained 25 pounds from eating a lot of ice cream! I told her once again to put him on SB and not only will he loose weight but also bring down his cholesterol. She told me she'd think about it and even asked me where she could find the book! I told her she should be able to find it at Wal-Mart, and if she doesn't find one by the time she comes up here next month I'll let her take mine back with her. I'm so excited I've finally got her to listen to me. He loves peanut butter and she asked if he could still have it and I told her yes, but no potatoes! They eat a lot of taters. Anyway, I wanted to share that with you all.

Now for some replies.

BOB, How old were you when you stopped sucking your thumb? I have bunches of laundry to do too, it's mostly the kids clothes though.

Pancho, It wouldn't matter to her if she did break her elbow or any other bone in her arm if it was just one arm. She will suck both thumbs. When Katie started Kindergarten, I saw kids in there sucking their thumbs and she came home trying to do it, she didn't ever try that before and didn't even have a pacifier after 4 months. I guess Autumn will do it forever; I can just see her in college sucking away her thumb!

Deb, Congrats to Michael! You sure are having more than your share of problems. Do you ask "what's next?" when something happens? It seems like when I do that things just keep on a happening.

Monet, Oh man that sounds really painful. Do you think that when her front teeth do come out she might stop? Not that I'm going to go and knock them out or anything but it'll give me something to look forward to.

Chris, I use WW pita bread and make my own pizza. Hubby told me that he likes it better then any of the pizza places

Well I'm off to do more laundry. See y'all tomorrow.

I have a picture of my oldest daughter sucking her thumb in the womb. *smile* When she was little we tried everything to get her to quit...we put bandaids on her fingers. Well, one feel off and that was her "new finger" to suck until she gave it up. Trust me it seems like forever but they do quit. ((hugzz))

Well its getting close to the end of a nice week-end. I just watched the movie Big Greek Wedding. I'm probably the only person on earth that hadn't seen it....

Bob- Your pork roast sounds so yummy and perfect with all those nice vegetables. Hope you got caught up on that laundry.

Pancho- I'd love to try an almond crust. I'll bet the cheesecake would be so good in it. Your Mom's party sounds like fun.

CountryMom- Those eggs in the basket are the ones you were talking about. I love those things too. OOO eee I love avocado's too. And guacamole!! What do you use for dippers?

Jecrites-I hope your MIL gives SB a chance. I have heart disease and it really helps with my cholesterol.

Good night everyone...

I rarely dip it...I eat it with a spoon. A lot times I serve it with my salad.

How neat you make the same kinda eggs. :)

Toni, I have been trying to get my MIL to get FIL on SB since I started back in Jan. He had open heart surgery in 2001 and is on high b.p. meds and cholesterol meds, not to mention he's a pretty good sized man. My cholesterol was out of control and I have now lowered it so much my doc has taken me off the meds. I say it was totally because of SB because I don't exercise unless you count walking up and down stairs for laundry and running to the store every now and again. I just don't like doing it and I never have. It really excited me this morning when she told me she would think about it and asked where to find the book. Hopefully she'll follow through and at least try it for a month or so, I'm sure that she'd stick with it if she'd only try it and see the results FIL will have.

Talk to ya later.

EVENING EVERY BUDDY!!

Just got thru with supper....YUM YUM YUM!!! The roast was so tender..I just rubbed it with some salt and pepper, threw in two stalks of celery, and dropped two tsp of crushed garlic in the pot.
Added about 1/2 cup of water and stuck it in a 350 degree oven and let it go!

JEC...I asked my Mom and she said I was under three when I stopped...did it on my own...:D

CRYSTAL....I set you a place, but you didn't get here on time...now you'll have to eat leftovers ;)

TONI...What did you think about the movie? I loved it....
Still washing...are you thru with yours?

Howdy.
Wanted to share my thumb sucking SUGGESTION.......
I know a couple who was having a heck of a time.... getting their little one ( I think she was between three & four at the time) to stop sucking...... here is what they did... and IT WORKED LIKE A CHARM!!!!!!!!
One morning mom was reading the news paper and "pretended" that she was reading a story about thumb sucking... and how it could make your thumb start to turn black and when it did... it WOULD FALL OFF...... Mom & Dad "discussed" it in front of little one (like she was not in room) then a few days later... discussed it with little one... and for about a week kept reinforcing that she needed to stop so her thumb didn't TURN BLACK AND FALL OFF....... Well..... THAT didn't work..... but low and behold.... when little one work up one a.m... and her THUMB WAS BLACK.....(parents snuck in the middle of hte night and dyed her thumb black with permenant black ink) she was cured for good!!!!
**** It scared the daylights out of her.... and she stopped then and there!!!!****

ANYONE WHO THINKS THAT THE ABOVE STORY IS CRUEL AND UNUSUAL PUNISHMENT...... PLEASE KNOW THAT I AM JUST PASSING A STORY ON... AND HAVE NOT TRIED THIS MYSELF...!!!
But, would probably try it .... if I got desperate enough!!!!

Hey everyone....

Its been a long hot day around here. Left for the game around 1pm and didnt get home til 9pm. It was sooo miserably hot. I mean miserable is an understatement. My face is fried, my legs are killing me, my back hurts...and we LOST in overtime. It would of been so much better to be on my couch with the a/c on.
Anyway, my good news....All morning I kept saying to myself, and my husband...its ok to drink a few beers...Im going to a game with a bunch of people, everone else will be drinking..its not gonna kill me:blah: ! So we get to the store to get ice and beer for the cooler. All I kept thinking is DEB DEB DEB, so I wanted to call her so she could tell me its ok to have a few. Well I didnt call cause I knew she wouldnt say it was ok. Then I thought about all you guys, and I wound up getting 4 bottles of water instead of a six pack! I have to say, I am very proud of myself. You guys should be proud of yourselves as well, cause if it werent for this board I would of had beer. I also brought my own "legal" sandwich from home, instead of eating at the game. Just wanted to fill you guys in on my day! Have a great Monday!:)

JENN - I have used ww pita for the crust twice and I love it!

BOB - How about that game UGH! What a waste of my time...Im so mad at them!

MONET - I avoided it! :)
