Thought I would start us off for September, couldn't think of a good name so I hope this will suffice. I think I can change it if you guys don't care for it.

Tomorrow is a new day, a new month and a new beginning for us all ladies and I hope to see you all more this month, even if it is to just say Hi! :)

Okay, so I have been working out my goals, menus and such. I am going to make my walking goal for 30 miles this month. My plan is to do the 2-mile WATP video and a 20 minute bike ride on M-W-F and walk either outdoors (since it has cooled off finally) or on the treadmill 2-3 miles on T-Th-S, Sunday will be my free day from exercise not eating. I am going to try to incorporate some weight lifting in there somehow, somewhere, not sure about that yet I am definitely not going to try and kill myself this time. Also, I'm not going to count the video as walking, even thought I know it is equivalent to a 2 mile walk. So, if I were to count that it would actually be more but I am sticking with the 30 miles. Well, just thought I would get us started ladies. See ya tomorrow!

09-01-2003, 09:04 AM
I'm here!!!!!!!!!!! AHHH!!! September is finally here! Only 2 more days till I can ship my kids off to school and get back on a schedule and back to my excercise program!

Hi and good morning to you Janine!

Jen, hope to see ya soon! We have missed you lady. :)

Kristi, Kristen, Jackie, Noelle, Jenifer Hi to you ladies also, and anyone I may have missed. Hope you ladies are doing fine and hoep to see ya soon.

I am up very early this morning for some reason so I thought I would get in here and post before I get busy. I would have done my workout but everyone is still in bed and I didn't want to wake anyone. I have been up since 4:30 am, couldn't sleep for some reason. Of course I know I will be getting sleepy later on. Today I am doing the WATP video but since dh is home and it is supposed to be nice and cool we may go to the park for a walk. I am so glad it has finally cooled off so I can get outdoors. :sunny:

Well, I need to go get breakfast. DD and I are off to Wal-Mart this morning. I need to pick up a couple of grocery items but I thought it would be a good oportunity for her to drive. She is finally getting better but still has a ways to go before I will let her drive on her own. I hope EVERYONE has a great day today! TTFN

OK, so I haven't started back to excercising but I have started to get back to my proper eating habits. My plan is to start back up full force on Monday. I am still trying to get the kids back into the school routine. Scott has had 2 full days of school and no homework for him yet but I have had some. :p I had papers and forms to fill out on Wed. evening then Thurs I had to go over the student handbook and cover 2 books. We have to sign the handbook then it has to go back in then will come back home after it is confirmed that it was signed. Scott says he will be bringing 3 more books home Friday to be covered. I find it easier to just do it myself than to try and show him how. Maybe next year I will show him how.
So far for the week I am down about 1 lbs with diet alone and AF is even visiting! Imagine what I could be down to if I did excercise this week and not have a visitor!!!!!!!!! :D

09-05-2003, 07:39 PM
Hi Ladies :)

WTG Janine! 1.5 pounds is a good loss for a week and even with your visitor, even better so good for you. :bravo:

I had a good week also as I am down 3.5 pounds this week which really surprised the heck out of me. I stepped on the scales 3 or 4 times to make sure it was right, of course I still don't know that it is correct. I will see what the difference is when I go to the doctor.

Hope EVERYONE else is doing great also! Hope to see you ladies check in soon. Have a good weekend! :grouphug:

09-07-2003, 10:32 AM
OK! Monday is the day I said I was going to get back on track and that is tomorrow! My plan is to get on the treadmill in the AM and not wait till the afternoon. I would like to do it right after Scott gets on the bus at about 8:35-8:40 and get in my 40 minutes. I am feeling pretty good right now and motivation is rather high since I went shopping for pants and was able to drop a size. I now fit into a 12!!! I am so proud of myself for what I have been able to do over the past year! :strong:
Can I brag a bit? :smug:
OK, it has been one year since I started my quest to loose weight. I started out at 209 lbs and wearing a tight size 18W stretch jean. I now weigh 144 (as of this AM) and fit into a 12 regular jean very comfortably. I have so much more stamina and know when I get back into my excercise routine I will have even more. My taste for things has even changed. I used to live on fatty fried foods and went to fast food places 5 times a week about. :cheese: :burger: :cheese: Now if I have something fried it sits in my stomach like a rock and I feel awful. :faint: I still go to fast food places but make completely different choices. It can be done! Grilled chicken sandwiches, dry. Side salads with low/no fat dressing instead of the fries and a diet drink or bottle of water. I also have the nerve now to ask for things to be served differently when we go into a restaurant like dressing on the side, hold the cheese, heavy on the steamed veggies and that type of thing. :cp: I have never had a problem getting things done how I want them. I am now less than 20 lbs from my final goal of 130 lbs and feel WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!!!! :goodvibes

09-09-2003, 03:57 PM
Well Janine it looks like it is just you and I. Not sure what happened to everyone else. Oh well...

Janine, you can brag all you want! You have the right to brag because you have come a long way baby! WTG :cp: :cb: :bravo: I know you will lose the last few pounds in no time. Just keep up the good work. You have done fanastic so far and I am so proud of you. You truly are an inspiration to me and part of what keeps me going so thanks for that.

I'm getting there slowly but surely. Not much to say just wanted to post a few days of walking.

Hope EVERYONE else is have a fantastic time also and you all are doing fine with your programs and life in general. Take care ladies wherever you are.

September Goal~30 miles
9/8/03~2 miles
9/9/03~3.5 miles
Total Miles~10
Miles to go~20

I thought it was just me that no one was here posting. I wonder where everyone went or they just so busy that they don't have the time to post. :?:

09-10-2003, 08:25 AM
Heys ladies! I would like to visit from time to time. I have my own thread to control and post at two others so I don't know if I can post all the time, but I always feel bad when threads drop off. I can always use walking tips!

Let me give you my "walking" details. I was over 400 lbs in January and walking was ALL I could manage. I started with 1/2 mile twice a day and that was really really tough for me. I did that 7 days a week but dh wanted me to scale back to 6. I kept building it up little by little until by May I was at 1 1/2 mile and did it all at once and power walked in the mall. In May the pool opened and I did water aerobics and laps for an hour a day. I decided to get an eliptical glider for bad weather situations come fall and someone gave me a brand new one. I am now doing 45 minutes a day (3-15 minute sessions with the resistance piston attached) and twice a week I walk 2-3 miles as the pool is closed for the year. I am "training" to do a 5K walk in October. I can't say I actually enjoy walking as at over 300 lbs I am not sure it CAN be enjoyable, but it IS enjoyable to know that I am exercising EVERY day and have been since January and that it is now part of my life.

As far as personally, I will be 50 in 2 weeks, have been married 31 years, have two grown children, a daughter, 26 who is married and a son, 30 who just got engaged (woohoo I see more dgch for me down the line!) and the most gorgeous impish grandson in the world. I can't say I am a SAHM because I have no one to mother, well let's say I am a SAHPM (stay at home pet mom! ) as I have two very needy pets a tabby named Butterscotch and a Yorkie named Fortune. I am trying to get back in the work force, but have had no success for months. Right now, I am not looking as my dh is taking me to Chicago for my birthday for 5 days. We are huge Cubs fans and have tickets to the last game of the season at Wrigley. Oh and I am from Memphis, TN transplanted. I am originally from South Bend, In but married a career sailor and moved around for 20 years until he retired in '89. This is probably WAYYYYY more than you want to know, but I am a blabbermouth!

I have a weight loss website: www.freewebs.com\trexnonny/ that helps keep me on the straight and narrow and I also keep a weight loss scrapbook and journal.

Hope to learn more about you ladies!

09-10-2003, 09:07 AM
WTG Faye and welcome!!!!!!!!!!!!! You are doing so great!!! Hope you can come around and post here now and then. Hope it more Now than Then!!

09-10-2003, 11:43 AM
I just did 3.4 miles and cried coming home because I have never walked that far. For someone that has oh 20-40 lbs to lose, walking is not an issue for them. When I was at my highest, January of this year, my husband would drop me off at the front door of the department store because I couldn't walk from the parking lot without being totally out of breath, I could not walk around in the home store shopping for supplies for our condo for more than 5 minutes. In fact, what started me on the road to losing weight and getting healthy was Jack telling me to use one of Lowe's scooters since I got so tired. I realized I was to the point where I was going to be another fat statistic in a wheelchair unable to walk. What a wake up call! I cannot even explain what being able to do a workout in a pool for an hour, exercise on a glider or walk 3 miles is like. I still have 170 lbs to lose, but my quality of life has improved so much! As I said we are going to Chicago for my birthday and this trip has been planned since the beginning of the year. We decided to go to the big zoo there and knowing I would never be able to walk for the whole day around the zoo reserved a motorized scooter to use while there. I have now cancelled it knowing my two feet will be able to get me around.

Thanks for lettimg me come here and talk with you ladies. You are doing fabulous jobs!

09-10-2003, 11:48 AM
You are an inspiration! You are going to have a fab trip to Chicago! Being able to walk around and check out the zoo is going to be so much fun along with getting in some excercise. I know after loosing 60+ lbs I feel so much better. Good luck with your quest and keep up the good work!

Hi, my name is Holly. I am a 26 yr old (almost 27) mother of 3 (6 1/2, 3 1/2, 2). I work full time, as does my husband. After giving birth to my youngest in August '01, I weighed a whopping 180! It took me 2 months to get to 171, then I sat at 167 for what seems like forever. In July '03, I weighed between 156 and 160, not sure exactly because I had a really bad scale. Anyway, I am currently 147. I have ALOT of trouble with my knees, so the only exercise I can really do is walk with the WATP tapes, and, try to walk between 2 and 5 miles 5-6 days a week.

Holly :)

09-10-2003, 09:38 PM
Welcome Holly! We are both sitting at about the same weight. I am at about 145 +- a couple. I want to get down to about 130. When I was over 200 I also felt the strain in my knees but that has now subsided.

09-11-2003, 08:52 PM
Hey ladies, I've been in slacker mode for quite a spell. In fact I've just started up walking again. This after getting on the scale over the weekend and the ##'s scaring the bejesus out of me  ! So, I've missed you gals I really have, and hope to get back to posting regularly here...oh yeah, and uh, walking daily too :p .

 Hi Faye if you're lurking, thanks for giving the thread a little CPR  . You've come a long way and you always have positive things to say for everyone. Welcome here anytime.

Hey Holly, good to see you here!

Janine, you have made awesome progress in the past year and I'm proud of you! I am close approaching my 1 year mark (10/24/03) and I am fighting tooth and nail to get back down to my lowest weight this journey of 170...I'm keeping you in mind for inspiration that it can be done. Geez, if I'd only been as dedicated like you I would've been nearing the 140's too...oh well, everyone at his own pace, eh?

Cristi, You've been doing great working toward your goal and I applaud you for keeping the faith and posting even if the rest of us flaked out for a bit :^:.

Well, I'm still at work so back to work I go. Chat with you later. Oh yes, almost forgot... I haven't set a mileage goal to walk this month, exept for a goal to walk at least 5X p/week.

September Miles walked to date: 14

I got in another 3 mile walk today! I step into the house amazed every time I complete that great of a distance. My skinny dd told me she needs to start walking or I am gonna kick her butt when we do the rftc in Oct. Yeah, right and Arnold is going to run for president.....(actually he can't because he is not born here American) so..... I just want to FINISH the walk I could care less how far behind everyone I am!

Hope everyone is doing great today. I had a "clothes" moment yesterday. I was in Walmarts and they had these beautiful tan zip cardigans with navy and cranberry blocks of color. Now remember that in January I was wearing 4 and 5X (26-32) clothes on my upper body, well I tried on a 22/24 and zipped it up had lots of room in the sleeves and around the behind area so I thought to myself, "should I take a chance? Sure why not, what could happen, you can't get your arms in it?" So I went for the 18/20 zipped it up, ask dh what he thought and if he thought it looked too tight. He said, "Not at all." Woohoo! (I didn't buy it, but may sneak back and get it without dh! )

Everybody have a great weekend!

09-12-2003, 05:59 PM
WTG Faye!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You deserve that cardigan! Get back to that store and buy it!!!!!!!!!

09-15-2003, 10:10 AM
Good morning ladies,

WELCOME Holly and Faye, nice to see some new faces around.

I just wanted to check in and say Hi. I will post more later today or this evening.

Hope everyone has a GREAT Monday!

09-15-2003, 04:34 PM
Sorry ladies for being MIA :(

I found out my ex-bil was killed in a car accident and haven't felt like doing much of anything since last Wednesday but thought I better get back on track today! Even though he was an ex-bil he was still part of the family, my nephew's father and a good friend, so that was a bit tough hearing that.

I did get a walk and bike ride in this morning. I am so glad it has finally cooled off.

Holly and Faye WELCOME once again. This thread was thriving and slowly filtered out so it is good to see some newbies.

Holly, I do the 2 mile WATP video 3 days a week and I really enjoy it. And some of the ladies here that also did the tape counted it their walk, especially when the weather was bad and they couldn't get out to do a walk.

Faye, I admire you. You are doing an awesome job with your weight loss! WTG Yes, you definitely deserve that cardigan and should go get it before it's gone!

As are you Janine, both you ladies have come a long way.

Noelle, so glad to see ya posting! :) We thought we lost ya.

Not sure what happened to everyone else but if you are out there lurking ladies stop by to say Hi! We MISS YOU! I know Kristi had planned on jumping in on this month's goals she just wanted to take a short break. Maybe I will email her and see what's up, I know she was busy with school starting and all.

Well, I hope everyone is having a good day.

September Goal~30 miles
9/15/03~3.25 miles
Total Miles~13.25
Miles to go~16.75

09-15-2003, 06:33 PM
I finally got a workout in! Felt pretty good. I did 1.95 miles in 40 minutes. That is all the time I had. Right when I got off the treadmill I had to hop in the car and go pick Alex up from preschool.

09-16-2003, 08:58 AM
Just a short post to say good morning. I am getting ready to get out this morning. It is nice and cool this morning so the walk should be nice. This is my mall day, but my walking partner has to have a cat scan so I am on my own.

One of the nice things is my dh has started a weight loss program all on his own. I am so proud of him and he has the most incredible stamina. He just toughs it out when he is hungry. He is even measuring. He has cut out his high fat lunch and replaced it with a slimfast and then for a snack instead of cookies, cheese crackers etc he is eatin a meal replacement bar.

Well ladies, better run, uh no walk I guess!!!!

09-16-2003, 11:50 AM
Hi, I'm Topaz and I love to walk! I mostly walk to and from work - it's just over 2.5 miles (4.5 km) each way, with hills, so it's a pretty good walk. I have a pedometer that I often forget to use. :o I'm 30, I'm a single mom who works full-time and I'm also a part-time student, so making my trip to work into my workout, um, 'works out' best for me. I've lost almost 20 pounds since about the end of May, and have about 20 or so more to go. I'm not in any hurry - as long as I'm getting smaller instead of bigger, I'm happy. :D

09-16-2003, 04:35 PM
Hello ladies. Just though I'd pop in and update my mileage thus far. I've been pretty good this past week staying OP during the weekday work week, then struggling on the weekends. Nothing new for me. I did pretty well on Saturday until dinner time, but nothing I'm too upset about. Sunday means BBQ day at our house and it went OK until dessert time. But all that's over and done with and this is a new week. I am back OP as of yesterday. I'm kind of afraid to say this but I think I got my mojo back :crossed: . My new incentive is an upcoming trip to Bangkok, Thailand in November. I'm gearing myself up to drop some pounds and get back in good walking shape so I can shop til I drop  .

Welcome Topaz :) . A 5 mile daily walk to and from work is an excellent distance. Congratulations on your 20 lb loss :cp: . Do you live in an area that you can do this year round? I love to walk too, once I get into the groove.

Faye I don't know about you, but when my DH decides to diet, he's just a perfect angel too--he never gives in to his cravings and the weight just falls off. It drives me insane! Especially since it seems I'm the one that's been "dieting" forever and my loss has been at a snails pace. Oh well, slow and steady wins the race, eh? Oh yeah, I agree, go get the cardigan!

(((Cristi))) , I'm so sorry to hear about your BIL's passing. It's never easy losing someone especially when it's unexpected. Come here and vent if you need to, we're here to lend an ear (or eye).

Janine, you go girl.

Well, it's another busy day so I need to get off here and do some work. I'll check you ladies out later.

September Miles walked to date: 28

09-17-2003, 05:12 AM
I did another 3 miles at least yesterday. I was telling my sister that about the last 1/2 mile I get pretty tired still and I notice I will kind of start weaving a little when I walk. I told her one of these days a cop is gonna stop me thinking I am drunk and because I am tired won't be able to take the breathilizyer test and they will throw me in the pokey!

Glad everyone is doing well with their walking. Keep it up.

09-17-2003, 09:04 AM
Do you live in an area that you can do this year round?
 Well, not really. I mean, I try, but I end up slogging through 3 feet of snow on winter mornings, and while that's probably good exercise in some way, it's incredibly discouraging, so I end up getting rides to work a lot of the time. The sidewalks are plowed by the end of the day, though. Everyone thinks I'm nuts for wanting to walk anyway when it's really cold or really hot, but I really enjoy it. Besides, it's often my only time alone all day.

09-17-2003, 10:40 AM

Please say a prayer for a lady named Carol Ann that posts on this website. Her husband had a massive heart attack and died last night. I believe they had been married quite awhile like Jack and I and boy did it hit home! Thanks for your good thoughts for her and her family.

09-17-2003, 01:32 PM
Hi ya ladies :)

Faye, I will keep Carol in my thoughts and prayers. That is just so terrible and sad. :( WTG on your walking, you are doing an awesome job. I'm trying to vary my walking by going to the park, which I had planned today but we got a surprise storm, and going to the mall, which is quite huge if you do all the ins and outs and on the treadmill. I also do the 2 mile WATP video. I so enjoy walking but the same routine day in and day out seems to bore me, and I will never succeed if I get bored.

Topaz, I think that is great that you walk to work and what a great workout. It also gives you time to clear your mind before getting to work which can be good sometimes. I saw your thread about biking or walking, I think either way you get the same benefits because although you are getting to work faster by riding the bike you are still getting quite a workout, a different workout. You might want to switch and walk 3 days and bike two and then maybe the next week bike 3 days and walk two.

Noelle, glad to see you back on track and thank you for thinking of me. Ooooo, Bangkok, sounds exciting! I know you will get to where you want to be in time for your trip, that right there is motivation enough.

Janine, hope you are having a good week.

Hi to everyone else, Kristi, Kristen, Lynne, Mary, Jen, Jenifer-I hope I didn't miss anyone. We MISS you ladies! :grouphug:

Got my walk in early this morning. Sometimes I love getting up early (5-6am) sometimes but most mornings if I could sleep till 8 or 8:30 I am a much better person. I have never been a morning person and this morning you can tell. Usually my walking energizes me, but not today. Maybe I will take a short nap after I get some laundry done. I'm blaming the weather, it's kind of gloomy.

Well, ladies I hope everyone has a great hump day! Talk to ya soon.

September Goal~30 miles
Total Miles~17.75
Miles to go~12.25

09-18-2003, 08:30 AM
Today is walk in the mall day with a friend. We go out to breakfast and then walk in the mall. The only thing bad about it is that I don't like to talk when I walk. I focus so hard on what I am doing that I tend to block out everything around me. It is just not that good of an exercise when you are just sauntering along and that's what we do, but then again exercise is exercise and I am really glad she is doing something.

My dh has lost 4 lbs already with his dieting. I am so glad he is seeing results as that will keep him going. Me, I am in a stall and have been for several months, gaining one or two lbs and then losing those again. I need to buckle down and get tough like I was at the beginning of the year. If I can stay level until after we get back from Chicago, I hope to really get back to where I was and jump start my metabolism again.

You ladies all have a nice day and any of you living on the east coast, my prayers are with you today!

Good Day Ladies :sunny:

I wish it was sunny outdoors, woke up to rain and once again the wind. I can't be out in this wind because of allergies. I don't have bad allergies but once in a while it is terrible and today is one of those days.

Faye, sounds like DH is doing a great job! WTG for him. I do know what you mean about walking with a friend. I usually walk with DH and while we do talk we stay focused on walking. I tried mall walking with a friend pushing a stroller and it just didn't work at all. She had to stop every other step for her DS who was 2 years old.

Janine, hope you are doing fine.

Noelle, what's up in beautiful Hawaii? Hope you are doing fine also.

No walk for me today I think?? I may do a mile on the treadmill but today I am doing the WATP and a bike ride so we'll see how the day goes.

Hope EVERYONE is having a wonderful day! TTFN :)

09-18-2003, 04:44 PM
Hello Ladies. Well, one of my walking partners is currently out of commission after being attacked by 2 pit bulls 2 evenings ago. That walking partner is our dog Kai (half black lab/half rottweiler). He survived the attack but is still at the vet recuperating from his injuries. I got the police and the humane society involved and am looking to get reimbursed for vet expenses from the pit bulls owner + looking to get those 'dangerous' dogs put down. One of the dogs was already out of the yard, the other jumped over the fence. The attack was unprovoked and very vicious. This will not stop me from going out and walking though.

Faye I will be sending a prayer out for Carol Ann and family. I can relate to 'zoning' while walking and not wanting to socialize. I sometimes get annoyed when the other person starts lollygagging and I just want to keep going full speed ahead.

Cristi I'm glad you're making use of the WATP tape, thanks for taking it off my hands  . Take care of those allergies.

Topaz, slogging through 3 feet of snow in the winter huh? That's dedication! For me, I've still got 85-90 degree weather here :flow2: and if I'm lucky, during our so-called "winter" :rain: the temps will go down to the low 70's. I give you mainland dwellers credit for exercising outdoors in the elements.

Hope everyone else has a wonderful day.

September Miles walked to date: 35

Today is glider day so no walking. We did do 3 rounds of the mall and it is about 3/4 mile I guess. I just am too obsessive about how far to walk and push sometimes when I shouldn't. I DON'T always have to walk the farthest I can etc. I know I have to fool with my eating plan though when I get back from vacation.

Hope you girls have a great weekend.

Noelle: Hope your doggie gets better. They are vicious animals bred only for fighting and I think they should only be allowed in very strict situations and definitely NOT by regular homeowners. You have to feel sorry for the dogs as they are only doing what comes naturally to them and they end up being put to sleep over it because of a fool of a human being! Hope Mr. Kai is better soon!

09-19-2003, 03:59 PM
Noelle, so sorry to hear about your doggie :( I hope he is doing better. Thank god those dogs didn't go after you, or a child. It's bad enough they got your doggie and I don't blame you for wanting them put down. It is sad that it has to come to that because it is not the dogs fault that they have dummy owners. And they should pay for the vet bills definitely! My Aunt has a pit bull (Heidi) and she is the sweetest thing but they do have to keep a watchful eye when other dogs are around. Just be extra careful when you are walking.

Faye, WTG on your walk!

I haven't gotten my walk in as of yet. I am going to do a mile on the treadmill as soon as I get off this thing and then DH and I are going to the park this evening and hopefully do 2 miles there, so I won't add my walk till this evening to make sure.

Hi to EVERYONE! Have a GREAT weekend ladies! :sunny:

Hello everyone. I am stalling because I need to go and work some more on my menus but it is boring to do!

I leave on vacaton Thurs and am really excited. Not looking forward to turning 50 but I am looking forward to seeing our son and his fiance and having a great birthday celebration. If the Chicago Cubs want to get me a present they need to win the rest of their games and take the division title! My ds and future dil wanted to know what I wanted for my birthday. They already paid for out tickets to the baseball game and I told them nothing else but they wanted to know so I told them what I would really like were some free weights to do strength training. It is something I would not spend money on myself and from what I understand are fairly inexpensive.

I haven't been walking because of time restraints. It is easier doing 20 minute sessions on the glider than finding an hour to walk but since we are going to a museum and to the zoo I will surely get a lot of walking in this weekend.

I better get back to business. Talk to you again soon.

Hello Ladies. Thanks for the well wishes about my doggie. He's doing much better since most of the swelling's gone down but he's still got a ways to go to be back in top form. On a positive note the other dog owner has stepped forward and offered to make arrangements for payment and to 'make peace' . We'll see! I called him this afternoon and was told he was sleeping. I'm pretty sure he's unemployed so I wanted to reach through the phone and shake his lazy @ss out of bed. He'd better not be blowing smoke up my you-know-what or I'll be filing suit down at small claims court. Sorry for the rant... I agree with the thoughts that it's not the dogs fault, it's the dumb owner  .

Faye, have a great time in Chicago and if our paths don't cross on these boards before Thursday, Happy Birthday to you! :hb: :hat: :balloons: :grouphug: . I loved the Lincoln Park zoo (if that's where you're visiting) and it is a workout just walking the entire grounds. Have a blast!

Cristi how are you faring these days? Hope all is well with you.

Janine what's happening in your neck of the woods? Stay healthy.

Hello to everyone else (and those we've lost along the way, please pop in and say hi) . Hope everyone is staying on their feet and moving their bodies. Take care!

so it's my first time posting in ages!!! maybe a month and a half, would ya say? gosh...

and there are new faces. i haven't really read through all the posts, (i had to be honest) but i noticed some new faces.

anyway, as for me, what is going on? i hit the 50 pound mark last saturday at ww. :) i was pretty excited about that. and this week i lost another 2.6. somehow... don't ask me how. cause it wasn't the greatest diet this past week, but it also wasn't the worst. it was just kinda there, ya know? so that's pretty exciting. :D

my walking has slowed down a bit, though. i'm not all crazy about it like i was in the beginning. and lately, i feel like i have so many time commitments after work. i should really think about getting up early and walking. i'm also thinking of joining a gym. actually, i know i am going to eventually. it's just... which one will i join? i have no idea. i don't want to spend a fortune, but i also want to have options. and having it close to work or home is key. that way i won't be too lazy :dizzy: in the winter.

anyway, that's about it for me. today, i get to babysit my lil' 15 month old nephew. i can't wait. that little kid is just adorable. i love him!

have a great weekend, everyone!!!:D

:cp: Hey Kristen! Welcome back. No worries on not posting, we can see you were out busy walking, exercising and losing a whole bunch of pounds. Congratulations on the 50 lb mark! WW is working wonderfully for you. That is awesome!!!! I wish I could say I was doing as well, but I'm not. I've slacked on the walking, but have improved this month. Hope your weekend with your nephew was fun. I love that age, so rascally. As far as the gym issue is concerned, have you checked out any of the local Y's? They tend to be not as expensive as private gyms...that's my 2 cents. Anyway, glad you could pop in. Hope to see you around  .

Hello to all you other ladies out there!

Kristen: You need to provide yourself with some variety with your exercise if you have gotten bored with walking. A gym, aerobic tapes, exercise equipment, swimming at the Y, all kinds of things you can do to spice it up a bit. I do a variety of stuff to keep from getting bored.

Please forgive me for copying and pasting about my trip, but I need to get some work done and don't have time to do it all over again Our trip was spectacular. Got into Chicago around 1 AM and slept until around 9. Went looking for Wrigley Field, found it and Harry Caray's, then we went to the museum, I got to feeling bad (TOM decided to rise up) so we decided to go out to their big mall, got lost in downtown Chicago at lunchtime (UGH WHAT A MESS) and 3 hours later instead of lunch, we ate ate dinner at the CHEESECAKE FACTORY (need I say more) and came back to the hotel in a driving rain storm. Saturday, we skipped the ZOO because it was really cold and wet, drove over to Indiana instead to see our son and give him the extra CUBS ticket we had (they were scalping them for $500 each and we paid $20) and he was going to try and sell it, spent the rest of the afternoon and evening with my oldest sister and her husband and went to the big Amish restaurant called Das Essenhaus and drove back to Chicago getting back to the hotel about 10. My sister bought me a baseball mit and glove picture frame for a pic of Thomas, a book I have already read (didn't tell her that though) and a beautiful fall candle in a stand. Sunday was "I TURN 50" day and GIRLIES it was so cold and windy! Because the CUBS played a doubleheader on Sat and won the division title, Sunday's game didn't count for anything, but the WGN announcer and former CUBS player, Ron Santo was having his number retired. The game was at 1:20 and the ceremony at 12:30 but I was sitting on the bed naked having taken my shower at 9:30 am and saw on WGN's news that there were 3000 people at the stadium so we rushed around and left. The wind blew ferociously and it was about 50 so it was so cold. I had taken a blanket, but we had only brought lightweight jackets with us. Our son, his fiance, her friend and the friend's boyfriend and mother (who got the extra ticket, which was fine with us) all got there around 12:30 and we just had a great time. Jay bought his dad a CUBS hat, I bought Thomas this big soft stuffed baseball that said Chicago CUbs on it and a bat (his mom will kill me!) and the first 10,000 ladies got this cute little ceramic bear wearing a CUBS uniform and Ryne Sanburgs # on it. Also, my son, unknown to me had submitted a guest card and they announced my birthday on WGN radio AND TV on Sunday which was really special. We left early since the game didn't count and went back to the hotel and changed into dressier clothes. GIRLS I BOUGHT A PAIR OF 2 INCH HIGH DRESS MULES (SHOES) AND LOOKED HOT HOT HOT! I haven't worn heels in a longggggg time. Dinner at Harry Caray's was fabulous, the food was exquisite though really expensive, our darling son paid for our dinner, but we bought a bottle of champagne and toasted their engagement (my future dil's friends came too). The two of them bought me the most beautiful jewelry box, an assortment of Bath and Body products in my favorite scent, Cotton Blossom, a PAIR OF YELLOW DIAMOND earrings, and this sterling silver "prayer box" necklace. It is this tiny tiny box that you can open like a locket and you insert a prayer into it that you want answered. Other than my period starting and having a mess driving home today, it was just an amazing weekend.

I did a 2 mile walk today and need to get the downstairs cleaned so have to get hopping.
